The Barack Obama Campaign Started “Call Them Racist” – JournoList Followed – And A Shocking ‘Hooray For Tucker Carlson’!

This July has been very hot – politically. Fox & Friends began to broadcast the hitherto uncovered story of Hillary voters intimidated by the Obama campaign in the 2008 primaries. This past week, Tucker Carlson’s DailyCaller began to expose the JournoList JournoGate. The information, and most importantly proof, Tucker Carlson uncovered is that the most trusted news and opinion writers for Democrats did everything they could to protect Barack Obama from examination, and smear all Obama opponents as “racists”.

That the most trusted news and opinion writers, for Democrats, protected Obama – during the Democratic primaries – very much hurt the Hillary Clinton campaign (and eventually McCain/Palin). It was a multiplier effect – the most trusted sources of news for Democrats in the tank for Obama led to protection of Obama and no news about how dirty Obama is. This multiplier effect isolated Democratic voters from the news and questions they needed to hear and therefore they believed the worse about Obama opponents such as Hillary Clinton. More importantly, Obama was not vetted and we now have a destructive force in the White House – destructive to core Democratic values, destructive to government, and destructive to the United States.

But this story goes much much deeper. It’s Friday so we will postpone a longer discussion of these issues (including what it means for a primary challenge to Obama in 2012) until next week. What we will discuss today is that the race-baiting and “call them racist” strategy began with Barack Obama, the Obama campaign, and that JournoList shills only followed in the race-baiting footsteps of Barack Obama. The JournoList fish began to rot from the Obama top.

Some of the most unobservant commentators will deride the Barack Obama race-baiting as old news which calls for more flowery words and lectures on race from the race-baiters (“It’s all been forgotten, which presents us with a teachable moment on race.”)

These not-to-swift back-yard correspondents apparently have failed to note that race relations under Barack Obama are getting worse, not, as promised by Mess-iah Obama and his acolytes, an expanded electoral map of limitless Dimocratic victory and a post-racial future of bliss and “ebony and ivory” harmony. Shirley Sherrod’s race-baiting and the anti-Tea Party race-baiting by the NAACP must not have penetrated the D.C. bubble of these bobble-heads. The “it’s his face” and race, dumb white people have not noticed the news headlines of late:

“In suing Arizona over immigration reform, he takes a step that alienates the three-quarters of Anglo voters who back the law. In refusing to prosecute the Black Panthers for their blatant intimidation of white voters in 2008, he alienates fair thinking people of both races. But in firing Shirley Sherrod, he showed African-Americans that he was caving in to pressure from FOX News and the conservatives. Then, by reversing field and reinstating her, the president and his Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack show whites and Republicans-Independent voters that he is caving in to pressure from the African-American community.

There are two common denominators to this equation: race and weakness. Any involvement in racial politics has to hurt Obama at his core. It goes to his fundamental selling point: That he is post racial.”

But that post-racial future was all part of the con job Chicago’s Barack Obama engaged in. Obama posed as a “uniter not divider” but Obama has always been ‘all racial, all the time’. Which brings us to Tucker Carlson.

In 2009, after the election, Tucker Carlson told a truth. The truth should have been told back when it mattered – when voters were voting. Carlson kept quiet during the elections, just like the JournoList participants. But to his credit, Carlson came clean in 2009 – when it was too late. In a two part series called The Obama Race-Baiting History – And Other Truths Emerge we transcribed what Tucker Carlson said to Greta Van Susteren.

Almost no one (other than Hillary Supporter web sites) noted the remarkable exchange and what Carlson said. Now, those chickens are coming home to the stinking Obama roost. We wrote:

“Yesterday Tucker Carlson finally broke down and confirmed that yes indeed, the duo he hates – Bill and Hillary Clinton were purposefully smeared by race-baiting Obama and his campaign operatives. Obama thugs continue to race-bait.

Here’s Tucker Carlson on Obama race-baiting and the smearing of Bill and Hillary Clinton:

Our transcript of Tucker Carlson’s remarks:

Tucker Carlson: “For Barack Obama to say that the media has taken the low road when many of his allies have accused his opponents of racism… and where was he when they did? When Clyburn of South Carolina accused opponents of racism… when Charlie Rangel did the same… when Governor Paterson of New York… you heard not a word from Barack Obama.

So, you know, it’s a little much for him to claim that the media is stoking this race talk.

[snip - discussion of Joe Wilson and the definition of "news".]

But let me just say, very clearly, it was the Obama campaign that first bought up the race question. It was the Obama people who smeared the Clintons as racists, Bill and Hillary Clinton. They made the case to reporters off-the-record, including me, that the Clintons were racists. They started this.

So for him to get up with a straight face and say the media is bringing this race issue up… No, it was your campaign that started this.

Greta Van Susteren: How did they bring it up?

Tucker Carlson: By this whisper campaign. That Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton were somehow opposing Barack Obama because they did not like the fact he was black. And that various statements they made, remember Hillary Clinton famously said that of course it was Lyndon Johnson who signed the Civil Rights Act, you know. Martin Luther King might have advocated for it but it was the president who signed it.

Somehow that became a racist statement according to allies of Barack Obama. He didn’t tell them to be quiet then. He allowed that to happen. Allowed, I think, the slur against the Clintons to fester. That they were somehow animated by bigotry was outrageous. And he did nothing to clear the air.

So, I don’t know… I don’t want to be lectured by him, at this stage, as a member of the media, in a sanctimonious way. That somehow we’re perpetuating unhealthy race talk. That’s nonsense.”

We don’t need any more “teachable moments” from race-baiter Barack Obama. What we need from him is a confession of what he has done and a resignation.

We don’t need any more opinions or words of any kind from the JournoList shills. What we need is a mass firing of these shills for not providing the information Democratic voters needed in the primary elections and the information all American voters needed in the general elections.

The JournoListers who protected Barack Obama also protected spiteful clowns like Keith Olbermann and MSNBC. In private JournoList participants knew that Keith Olbermann was a sexist and a misogynist. In a political year in which a woman ran during the primary elections and a woman ran during the general election season the fact that a main source of information for center and left of center Democrats is a misogynistshould have been disclosed. But the JournoList shills protected Barack Obama and NBC and MSNBC.

“Julian Zelizer, a Princeton professor and CNN contributor, said Olbermann’s root problem is his misogyny. “I can’t take him anytime. I think to write off his mysogyny (sic) as limited to Musto is just not accurate. That very much defined much of how he talked about Clinton as well as others.”

Zelizer was referring to a series of instances during the primary campaign between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama when critics from both sides of the aisle criticized Olbermann for allegedly sexist treatment towards Hillary. Olbermann was forced to apologize.”

Yes, there was some slight discussion of Olbermann’s misogyny. Olbermann after all at one point suggested Hillary needed to be taken to a back room and physically assaulted and his playmate, the balding David Shuster declared Hillary was a pimp and Chelsea was a whore (this because Chelsea was a surrogate speaker for her mom). There was no “call them sexists” campaign of exposure in this case against a batch of genuine sexists and misogynists which almost held a monopoly on Democratic discourse.

There was no “call them sexists” campaign from JournoList because to them women are second class hos who can be sacrificed for the greater “good”:

“Or, as then Harper’s editor Luke Mitchell put it, “Olberman is irritating and his obvious sexism is reprehensible. But yes, someone going on TV and saying that torture is bad is a net positive.”

That “he’s a sexist but… a net positive’ is a short version of what we wrote about in Hillary Clinton And Sarah Palin Versus Mel Gibson And Hendrik Hertzberg (And Bonus Sunday Special: Fox News Finally Weighs In On The Democratic Primaries 2008).

It is very easy to see race as the greater oppression when you remove 90% of violence against woman from the equation. The daily beatings and denigrations against women, even unto today, are not considered “oppressions of gender” by Hertzberg and his ilk. Slave rape is considered a “race” crime not a gender crime. Wife battering is considered a “personal mistake” not part of the “oppressions of gender”. Verbal abuse of women in the vilest forms is tolerated as long as the “N” word is not invoked.

Hertzberg’s ilk includes people like Howard Dean and Chris Matthews. Many Republicans will soon join Hertzberg and Dean and Matthews in “oppressions of gender” against Sarah Palin.”

We were all JournoListed. It was Hillary Clinton who was the first target, Hillary Supporters the secondary target, Republicans and conservatives were tertiary targets. We can also picture the discussions of Big Pink (Tucker Carlson, pretty please, can we see those?) by the JournoListers.

JournoList succeeded in the goal of electing Barack Obama. But as Bob Dylan wrote “Tonight you got the power to take it. Tomorrow you won’t have the power to keep it.” Already the grasp on power is failing fast and the weak and unvetted Obama falls as all his liabilities flash out like a pervert in a trenchcoat. His approval numbers on the economy begin to reflect the boobery we all see. The Arizona race-baiting gambit has failed in the court of public opinion and is faltering in the courts of law.

November is coming. The subpoenas will follow. Only then will we get the answers we have not gotten in the Chicago trials of Rezko and Blagojevich. Only with subpoenas will we get the answers JournoList sought to conceal.

Bravo, admin. Keep up the pressure.

I’m beginning to think that AA candidates in the future will have a very hard time of it because of this bozo. Why would people even bother getting involved with or supporting a candidate when the results could well be a continuation of racism charges?

I know that’s not fair and bozo doesn’t reflect all AA’s but let’s face it, with over 90 percent support remaining among that group for squat and his policies people are going to be suspicious.

    As well they should.

People are so sick and tired of this racist BS that I think they will do everything they can to avoid controversial candidates in the future and that, rightly or wrongly, includes non-white candidates. At least for the time being.

Why should anyone risk a recurrence of this racist BS if it’s just a matter of not pulling the lever for a candidate who might end up continuing the squat’s obscene quest.

I don’t know about you but if I’m walking alone at night on a dark street and I see several young men coming toward me, regardless of their race, I walk to the other side.

I think that’s what future voters will do, assuming we get a chance to have free and fair elections. And that too is in doubt.

i don’t know about you but when i see an avoidable conflict which doesn’t un

    Great post again, Admin!

When did Tucker get the emails and names of the Journolist?
Was it before the General election?

I wonder if they were offered to him for a price and is he going to make them public?

They didn’t just get Obama elected. The whole country was ready for REAL health core reform. The insurance industry and big Pharma knew it was coming. They needed to get out in front and keep Hillary from gaining the presidency. The bankers had a stake too, they knew the time to pay the piper was coming, they wanted to “privatize profit and publicize debt”. The health insurance industry, big Pharma and Wall street dodged a bullet, we Americans took it in the heart – all thanks to these Fools who were probably blindly following paid hacks.

I would really like to know if anyone on this j-list was paid by any of the above industries, and what was the tone of their contributions to the j-list discussions. I guess I heard that the guy from Kos was a paid political consultant, who else?.

Here is a quote from Murphy at Puma Pac that describes the unpaid members of the j-list to a T:

“What a bunch of stupid idiots. And lord are they fond of their pretentious cliches: “It’s not necessary to jump to Wright-qua-Wright’s defense,” and “And I think this threads the needle.” Read any of their emails over at the Daily Caller and you can’t help but laugh at their hopeless affectations and their juvenile need to impress the other members of their Super Double Secret Club of Smarty Pantses with their lofty erudition, or at least their familiarity with the most popular cliches of those who want to be seen as lofty, and erudite.”

You and I will be paying this off forever. Well done Bozo, you are the weakest link, goodbye.

White House predicts record $1.47 trillion deficit

WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House says the government is now borrowing 41 cents of every dollar it spends.

New estimates predict the unemployment rate will average 9 percent next year and the budget deficit will be $1.47 trillion – even bigger than previously expected.

    http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_BUDGET_DEFICIT?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2010-07-23-15-01-33

The new estimates paint a grim unemployment picture as the economy experiences a relatively jobless recovery. The unemployment rate, presently averaging 9.5 percent, would average 9 percent next year under the new estimates.

The Office of Management and Budget report has ominous news for President Barack Obama should he seek re-election in 2012 – a still-high unemployment rate of 8.1 percent. That would be well above normal, which is closer to a rate of 5.5 percent to 6 percent. Private economists don’t think the unemployment rate will drop to those levels until well into this decade.

“The U.S. economy still faces strong headwinds,” the OMB report said. They include tight credit markets, a high inventory of unsold housing and retrenchment by state governments bound by balanced budget mandates. The European debt crisis has also had an impact.

“Despite these headwinds, the administration expects economic growth and job creation to continue for the rest of 2010 and to rise in 2011 and beyond,” the report said.

Good points, the media blackout hurt ALL American’s, for the above mentioned, for race relations, for our economy and for our Democracy.

We run around the world saying what a great country we have because of our Democracy, and we only have a bunch of thugs in the WhiteHouse and a media that decides to make their own version of the truth and news.

This is all a total disgrace and I can’t wait until heads roll.

RIGHT. The elections of 2006 showed that teh country was ready to throw the GOP out. The ‘green’ liberal demographic was getting together.

So the fat cats put THEIR ringer in front of our parade. A FAKE Progressive, who would pass FAKE health care etc etc which really favored the fat cats.
Obama had shown by his service to the Daleys that he was a politician who stayed bought.

But all that was gravy. The important thing was keeping Hillary out.

‘The White House says the government is now borrowing 41 cents of every dollar it spends.’

We’re going to have to start calling it the Red House.

That number is stunning. There is NO WAY to dig out from this without countrywide bankruptcy! Only we won’t be given a clean slate in 7 years (or is it 13?) We will be SLAVES to whoever buys our debt.

    Forever!

I just paid off the last of my debt a couple of months ago and now the only thing I owe is about $15 G on a tiny cottage that would probably sell for just slightly higher than that in this market. But at least it’s home. And I can still afford it.

Well done Bambi, you really have f*cked it up. Now your gonna see this monstority in action.

    http://blogs.investors.com/capitalhill/index.php/home/35-politicsinvesting/1918-obamaclypse-now-some-insurers-end-new-coverage-for-kids

In an “unintended,” but absolutely predictable consequence of ObamaCare, some insurers have stopped writing certain policies for children, state officials said Friday:

Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty said in his state, UnitedHealthcare and Blue Cross Blue Shield have stopped issuing new policies that cover children individually. Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner Kim Holland said a couple of local insurers in her state have done likewise.

The administration slammed insurers for “taking this unwarranted and unnecessary step.”

Starting later this year, ObamaCare will require insurers to accept children regardless of their medical condition. Not surprisingly, insurers fear that parents will wait until kids get sick before signing them up for coverage, imposing major costs.

“If the law says that insurers have to take you any time, any place, some people will see that as an opportunity to wait until their children get sick to buy coverage,” a Blue Cross lobbyist told AP.

This is not unrealistic. Thousands of people in Massachusetts are gaming that state’s universal health care system by signing up for coverage before costly treatments, then dropping coverage.

A system that lets people get cheap coverage whenever they fall ill is not financially viable. It would force insurers to drive up premiums, encouraging more healthy people to forgo coverage or game the system, forcing premiums even higher.

That’s why President Obama and other ObamaCare supporters know that the individual mandate to get coverage is vital. It will force the young and healthy to subsidize the old and sick to a far greater extent.

But the mandate doesn’t kick in until 2014 and faces court and political challenges before then.

As Bay Staters have discovered, many Americans may decide it makes sense to accept a fine — supposedly unenforceable — and sign up only when they get sick.

Anything new on the standing of Arizona’s Immigration Law? Wbb posted something about it. Will this judge side with Obama or the state? I believe wbb said he is collecting more info and will post about it later. If anyone has any new info, please post it… thanks-

  • admin

Mrs. Smith, the Arizona Republic has this:

    http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/news/articles/2010/07/23/20100723arizona-immigration-law-federal-judge-reviews-law.html#ixzz0uXWwvOEo

The fate of Arizona’s tough new immigration law now sits in the hands of U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton.[snip]

Bolton did make one thing clear: She has no intention of invalidating the entire law but is considering halting the enactment of a handful of its 14 sections.[snip]

During the hearings, Bolton made it clear that she considers SB 1070 not a statute in itself but rather a large combination of new laws and amended existing laws.

She ignored the portions of the law that weren’t up for debate, such as restrictions on day laborers, but said she was considering whether to block all or part of certain key sections of the law. She steered the attorneys toward the sticking points in those sections.

There are two parts of this section of the law that Bolton and the attorneys debated.

The first prohibits state and local government from restricting law enforcement from enforcing federal immigration law to the fullest extent permitted by federal statute.

Bolton asked ACLU attorney Omar Jadwat and later Department of Justice attorney Edwin Kneedler why the state should not be allowed to require all local law enforcement to enforce federal immigration law.

“Why can’t Arizona be as inhospitable as they wish to people who have remained and entered the United States illegally?” the judge asked. “Who am I to stop the state of Arizona?”

But she also held the state’s lawyer, John Bouma, to the fire with questions about whether this portion of the state law pre-empts federal law. Bouma said it did not.

“Law-enforcement officers have been enforcing federal immigration laws for years,” he said.

The other part of this section of the law that was addressed was the portion that states that any person arrested must have his or her immigration status determined before he or she can be released.

Bolton asked Bouma whether lawmakers really intended that anyone arrested, regardless of his or her legal status or whether the arrest involved citing and releasing someone on the spot or booking him or her into jail, had to have immigration status determined before being released from jail.

Bouma gave her several different answers at different points in the day.

He first said that U.S. citizens don’t have an “immigration status” and therefore SB 1070 wouldn’t apply to them. He also said that part of the law was intended to follow the part allowing officers to ask someone about their legal status, which means it would apply only to individuals suspected of being in the country illegally.

“But (police) training materials specifically acknowledge that they don’t know what it means and that it will be left up to each agency to decide what that sentence means,” Bolton replied, adding that she had heard from some law-enforcement authorities that this portion of the law could lead to the arrest of tens of thousands of people who otherwise would have just been cited and released.

The ACLU’s Jadwat said the plaintiffs interpret that portion to apply to any person arrested.

“And that goes far beyond anything contemplated in federal law . . . or that makes any real sense,” he said. “You would be able to hold people for no other reason but to determine their legal status.”

Bouma later admitted the sentence was “inartfully worded.”

Section 3 of SB 1070 as amended creates the state crime of “willful failure to complete or carry an alien registration document.”

Attorney Nina Perales with the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, one of the civil-rights groups that filed the lawsuit along with the ACLU, said this portion of the law creates new classes of non-citizens because it doesn’t offer exceptions for individuals who may be in the midst of citizenship or asylum proceedings and have permission to be in the country but don’t yet have documents.

Bouma responded that that argument gets into a hypothetical “chamber of horrors” that people would be hauled off and thrown into jail to wait until someone could determine whether they belonged there.

Bolton agreed that all this portion of the law does is create a state punishment for violating federal statute. But she added that state punishment may create a pre-emption problem.

Bouma argued otherwise but then seemed to concede that he may lose on this part of the law.

“I didn’t have the feeling I convinced you last week, either,” Bouma said, referring to an earlier hearing.

Section 6 of SB 1070 as amended allows law-enforcement officers to, without a warrant, arrest people suspected of committing offenses that make them “removable from the United States.”

Bolton seemed to have serious concerns about this portion of the law. She said there is no list of crimes deemed to be removable offenses and questioned who would make that determination and at what point during the arrest it would be made.

“How can a police officer make a determination that a person has committed a removable offense when that decision can only be made by a federal judge?” she asked.

    Another home run, admin!

I am not a fan of Tucker Carlson. Yes it’s great that he finally spoke out about the race card being played against the Clintons, but why didn’t he and other Fox News media report on this when it was actually happening?

I don’t call this “reporting the news” like he said with such innocence. I call this censoring the news to push for the other party. Fox may be a touch better than the other news stations, but not by much. They too have their hidden agendas and I doubt he would have even admitted the stuff about the Clintons if he didn’t think it would serve his and Fox’s purposes to point the finger at obama.

Details of Chelsea Clinton’s wedding may be thin on the ground but one thing is certain: an invitation to the marriage of Bill’s and Hillary’s only child is the hottest ticket in town, writes LARA MARLOWE in Washington

CHELSEA CLINTON’S desire to keep her nuptials with Marc Mezvinsky, an investment banker, discreet has only fanned media curiosity. Gossip magazines and the internet are buzzing with rumours about the wedding plans, whose details are “harder to ferret out than the president’s Afghanistan strategy”, according to the New York Times .

New York Magazine calls the wedding “this summer’s ultimate status invitation” and likens the secrecy surrounding it to “a giant military operation”.

Much of what is known – or rather believed to be known – about the July 31st ceremony has been reported by the Hudson Valley News, the local paper in Rhinebeck, New York, where the wedding will probably take place. “This is a small town and we have more moles here than a vegetable garden,” says Jim Langan, the paper’s editor.

One thing is certain: the marriage of Bill’s and Hillary’s only child will be an emotional affair. “I just hope I can keep it together [until] I walk down the aisle and do the handoff,” Bill told NBC television. Chelsea has asked her father to lose 15 pounds, so he’ll look good in the photos. The former president says he’ll feel “proud, grateful, wistful. I’ll be thinking about the day she was born, I’ll be thinking about the first day of school.”

Hillary referred to herself as MOTB (Mother Of The Bride) in State Department messages. While flying around the world extinguishing diplomatic fires, she has studied menus, flower arrangements and dresses. Her daughter’s wedding “truly is the most important thing in my life right now”, she said recently.

Chelsea met Marc 14 years ago, at a weekend retreat for young Democrats. She was 16; he was 18. The Clintons were friends with his (now divorced) parents, Edward Mezvinsky and Marjorie Margolies Mezvinsky. Young Marc reportedly worked as an intern at the Clinton White House. He and Chelsea both attended Stanford University. She had a number of boyfriends, including an Anglo-Irishman from Oughterard, Co Galway, before settling down with Mezvinsky in New York five years ago.

Bride and bridegroom both survived the public humiliation of their fathers. Perhaps the most enduring image of the 1998 Monica Lewinsky scandal was Chelsea, then 18, holding the hands of both parents, walking between them towards a helicopter on the White House lawn. According to Hillary’s memoirs, Chelsea was present when her father and advisers discussed how he should present his affair with Lewinsky to the American public.

“Chelsea is one of the few kids I could imagine understanding something like that,” says Stella O’Leary, the president of Irish-American Democrats, who has campaigned for both Clintons. “She is never melodramatic or hysterical. She has a kind of wisdom.” When the Clinton-Mezvinsky engagement was announced last November, Bill described his future son-in-law as “a great human being”. The New York Times credits him with “confidence and a teasing sense of humour”. He must have suffered when his father, a former congressman, pleaded guilty to defrauding investors of $10 million in 2002.

According to the prosecutor in Pennsylvania, Mezvinsky père used his friendship with the Clintons to impress prospective investors. Unknown to his son, Edward hid money in Marc’s bank account. Edward completed a five-year prison sentence in 2008, and will presumably attend the wedding.

Another of the ironies swirling around next Saturday’s wedding is that Bill Clinton was involved in ending the brief political career of the mother of the groom, Marjorie Margolies Mezvinsky. In 1993, Clinton begged Margolies Mezvinsky, then a first-term Congresswoman from Pennsylvania, to vote for his tax-raising budget. She reluctantly agreed to do so, but only if hers was the 218th, deciding vote. She kept her word, to jeers of “Goodbye, Marjorie!” from Republicans, and was voted out of office the following year.

In his biography of Hillary Clinton, A Woman in Charge , Carl Bernstein recounts Hillary’s difficulty in conceiving Chelsea, the baby’s complicated birth by Caesarean and the couple’s disappointment at not being able to have a second child.

Bill watched the delivery, and later described Chelsea’s birth as “the happiest moment of my life”. Chelsea, who was named after a Joni Mitchell song, had a miniature desk in Bill’s office as governor of Arkansas. As president, he gave her driving lessons at Camp David, and waited up for her in the White House to come home from dates.

In her book It Takes a Village , Hillary describes how the couple prepared Chelsea for public life. When their daughter was only six years old, Hillary and Bill would role-play, pretending to be politicians attacking Bill. Chelsea “gradually gained mastery over her emotions and some insights into the situations that might arise”, Hillary wrote.

Chelsea wrote her undergraduate thesis at Stanford on the Northern Ireland peace process, with the president as a primary source. In 1998, Stella O’Leary accompanied the Clintons to Enniskillen, Derry and Belfast. She recalls the extraordinary closeness of parents and daughter. “She’s kind of amused, not intimidated by them,” says O’Leary. “She’s their equal. She adores them.”

At Stanford, Chelsea switched from pre-medicine to history, then completed a Master’s degree at Oxford, like her father. In an essay about the atrocities of September 11, Chelsea wrote that she felt “a new urgency to play a part in America’s future” and vowed to “somehow serve my country.” But Chelsea’s first, high-paying jobs were with a consultancy firm and a hedge fund in Manhattan. In January of this year, she received a Master’s degree from Columbia University in public health, a passion she shares with her mother.

Chelsea and Hillary do not display what one supporter calls Bill Clinton’s “effervescence”, but mother and daughter both enjoy a reputation for dutiful hard work. O’Leary describes the Clintons as “passionate do-gooders” who have “an amazing ability to bring out the best in the worst people, to get private individuals to donate money for their causes”.

Chelsea, too, has shown a talent for fundraising. In 2007, she helped persuade donors to give $20 million for her father’s foundation. In January, she raised $67,000 for Haiti by hosting an exercise class at a Manhattan gym.

Chelsea’s wedding coincides with what the Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank calls “a Clinton restoration”. A Gallup poll published on Thursday showed Bill Clinton is better liked than both his successors. Sixty-one per cent of respondents view Clinton favourably, compared with 52 per cent for Barack Obama and 45 per cent for George W Bush.

Obama is implementing “Bill Clinton’s third term”, Milbank writes, citing the dozens of Clinton-era officials who’ve been re-appointed by Obama, and Bill’s recent visit to the White House for a brainstorming session on job creation. A persistent Washington rumour says Obama will make Hillary Clinton his vice-presidential running mate in 2012, moving Joe Biden to the State Department.

In the meantime, some commentators are portraying Chelsea’s nuptials as America’s equivalent of a royal wedding.

“Chelsea is only inviting people she knows,” says a source who was an official in the Clinton White House. “This is not a political, royal wedding where you have to invite the archduke to keep peace in central Europe.”

Royal? The Clintons? “I just don’t see it,” says the same former official. “Look at their backgrounds. If it’s royalty, it’s manufactured in some way by people who want it to be that.”

No confloyd. I forgive NONE of them. Those sad sacks have wasted a golden opportunity with majorities in both the house and the senate to really reform this country to something very great again, the honest-to-goodness beacon that the world looks to, an example (and a statement of how great this nation really is) for the world to see. Along with that, we had an aging court whose members are staying on so that the balance of the court doesnt just tip to the right completely, that could be replenished with consciouse center left liberal judges providing us years of thoughtful interpretation of the law. Instead, what we got was this person that is making things harder on all of us EVERYDAY HE IS IN OFFICE, with mistakes, greed and boobery as the values he holds true to. And with it he will take that majority and the Supreme Court judges that could have such a wonderful long-lasting effect on the Nation as a whole right down the drain. The one shining light in his administration happens to be the person that should be president.

    I forgive NONE of them.

    Asshats……

JanH, thanks for that video. We are posting it again. Notice how Tucker Carlson states that it was liberals who knew Obama was in trouble and liberals who protected Obama in the nomination fight with Hillary Clinton. It was these fake liberals who knew if they did not destroy this Wright story Obama would be defeated more than he was. It was these fake liberals who then praised to the heavens the cheap Obama speech on race (which ignored his character questions and instead lectured Americans about race. A race speech from a race-baiter was praised by these fakes.) It was these fake liberals who acted as shills for Obama and kept needed information from Democratic voters.

We coined “PINO” for these fakes. These were fake liberals who did not care about vetting Obama to see if he had character and if he would fight and what his values were. Now they have the answer we knew years ago.

With every eye on the planet turning towards Chelsea and Marc’s special day. It was a pleasure reading the article from the Irish Times. It was refreshing to see the author of the article had read at least three books about the Clintons using a compilation of quotes not only framing the story but tyeing it together grounding the article in facts rather than fluff- I looked for attribution of the article- there was none. I then realized, the article was from Ireland. On my last visit there when they saw we were Americans, wide eyed and grinning, they always asked: “How is President Clinton doing?” Feel the love-

I’m not going to follow that TM link because that blog is not worth reading, but that’s a pretty sad quote, “it’s all forgotten … teachable moment.” Right now we’re in a media race war that Obama started. He’s horribly incompetent as a racial diplomat. And that incompetence was signaled clear as a bell by his failure to lead in his church. A true leader could navigate intra-black politics without indulging racial psychosis like ‘Black Liberation Theology’. I saw a long time ago that blacks expected whites to be racial punching bags, to just sit there and take it while they vented their rage. This led many blacks to vent more and more ridiculous ‘victim fantasies’ because they expected to be patronized, not challenged. Now blacks (NAACP) are shocked that some whites are punching back. This mess is a huge diplomatic and leadership failure by Obama, and the only teachable moment is that we need to get him out of the White House.

Arizona immigration law won’t be completely blocked, federal judges indicates during gov’t lawsuit

    Arizona immigration lawsuit
Should the federal government sue Arizona for its anti-illegal immigration law?

Yes, the law is unconstitutional and will lead to rampant racial profiling.
No, the federal government should spend its time fixing its broken immigration policies.
    I don’t know.

    ARTICLES
Aping Arizona: Five states copy controversial immigration law
Arizona’s controversial anti-illegal immigration law is here to stay, at least in some form, a federal judge said Thursday in Phoenix.

U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton, who is presiding over the federal government’s lawsuit against Arizona over the legislation, said she has no intention of blocking the entire law, though she did not deliver a ruling on the closely watched case.

Bolton did, however, say parts of the 14 sections the law could be removed, the Arizona Republic reported.

Arizona’s law, Senate Bill 1070, gives police the ability to question a suspect’s immigration status if there is “reasonable suspicion” that the person is in the U.S. illegally.

The state’s governor, Jan Brewer, signed the law in April and it is scheduled to take effect July 29.

There is no indication whether Bolton will issue a ruling before next Thursday.

In a jam-packed courthouse, Bolton pressed the Justice Department’s attorney, Edwin Kneedler, to explain why the state could not enforce its own, strict laws on illegal immigration.

“Why can’t Arizona be as inhospitable as they wish to people who have entered the United States illegally?” Bolton, an appointee of President Bill Clinton, asked.

The judge also spent time pointing out the realities Arizona faces on the U.S.-Mexico border.

“You can barely go a day without a location being found in Phoenix where there are numerous people being harbored,” she said. “Who am I to stop the state of Arizona?”

Kneedler explained that Arizona’s law would burden federal agencies with more cases than it could handle.

Critics say the law will lead to rampant racial profiling of Latinos and some police chiefs in the state worry resources and community relations will suffer if the law is enforced.

The state’s attorney, John Bouma, countered that American citizens don’t have an “immigration status” and therefore, shouldn’t worry about the new law.

Bolton, though, questioned the “reasonable suspicion” phrase in the law, saying police did not have a clear idea how they should enforce SB 1070.

“(Police) training materials specifically acknowledge that they don’t know what it means and that it will be left up to each agency to decide what that sentence means.”

Bolton also heard arguments from the American Civil Liberties Union Thursday. Including the Justice Department case, there are seven lawsuits pending against Arizona.

We can add the name Nicholas Riccardi to the jurno list if the way he reported the Arizona hearing in his Los Angeles Times article yesterday is any indication. He says the judge was skeptical about the law’s constitutionality and implied that the whole thing would be struck down. Compare and contrast this with the judge’s actual statement that she has not intention of blocking the entire law. He dwells on an exchange between this judge and the state attorney which made it appear as though the state was throwing in the towel which is certainly not the case. He makes no mention of the tough questions that judge had for the administration on the question of pre emption which was there main argument. And he lauds the ACLU argument without disclosing the questions the judge had for their attorney. This reporter is a real mutt. I tried to google him and nada. The best thing you can say about his columns as a reader is they are not informative.

They are discussing the caucus fraud on Fox. They have on Steve Hildebrand who they say was the architect of Obama’s campaign and Hildebrand is saying that Hillary didn’t complain, Harold Ickes didn’t complain and it’s not Obama’s style to allow people to commit such actions. He even said that Hillary and Ickes had the clout at the Rules and By-laws Committee meeting and where were they while all this was going on. He is saying that the complaints are unfounded. He is saying that this was not brought up at the Rules and By-laws committee meeting and if would have been if it were true, and that Hillary would not be as involved in Obama’s team if it were true. He is saying that the fraud was not registered, that they didn’t receive complaints. The lady read off letters from Hillary’s campaign where they complained and said there were over 2,000 complaints in Texas alone. Hildebrand said that Hillary won Texas so how could that be substantiated. The lady pointed out that she won the primary and that all these things happened during the caucuses and that all the fraud happened at the caucuses. She showed clips to him. She also pointed out that the discrepancy spoke for itself, that Hillary carried Texas well in the primary and where were these people when the caucuses were being held if they were not shut out. This guy didn’t look comfortable. He also asked why they are complaining now, two years later? The woman said that they have been complaining all along but no one was listening. Boy can he distort facts. Hillary’s people will be responding tomorrow. I hope I described this properly. I am glad they are being thorough.

I know full well the atrocities that happened as I watched them play out and I agree that if it had been to Fox’s advantage at that time it would have come out. Fox is self-serving and I think they fear Hillary in a way that they would never fear Obama. They know that Hillary is the real thing. But somehow it just makes me feel better hearing someone admit what went on and paying attention to it. I feel it needs to become part of the public record and the attention to the documentary is giving that focus. It certainly changed attitudes for those of us who watched and were affected by it. You know, even if it is too late to help keep the last election honest by airing the fraud and if not one mind is changed because of it, I’m still happy that it is coming out publicly.

andyp, you described the interview with Steve Hilibrand accurately. I logged on to post about it. Iirc, the lady’s name is Allison Camarati. She was good, aggressive without being obnoxious. There needs to be an action that:
    a) congratulates Camarati on a good and effective job
    b) that tells her and Fox that Hilibrand is a ‘liar liar pants on fire’
    c)to contact Harold Ickes
d)she needs to hear from each of us who witnessed such during the primary
e)we need to encourage her and others on Fox, and Fox to keep reporting for elections are coming up and while this was thievery Dem on Dem, what is to prevent it from happening as a Dem on Anyone else in November or 2012?
f)basement angel’s recordings of the stealing of the primary need to be brought to the attention of Fox, who knows she does not profit from it at minimum it would go a loooonnnngg way toward documenting factually what happened

What I do not understand is why any of us are, as my mama used to say, looking a gift horse in the mouth, whatever that means, with Fox. Fox is the ONLY network that is covering real news as opposed to faux news. I for one appreciate them and their work.

  • wbboei

AndyP that is interesting. So Steve Hildebrand, who I at least had not heard of before, has come forward and said Obama ran a clean campaign and he was “The Architect”? With respect to the former, it is a transparent lie. Whenever a witness is faced with very specific evidence well documented evidence against him and offers only a general denial in response as we see here, he is most likely a liar. And when the rebuttal evidence does come forward then his goose as well as Obama’s will be cooked.

The only troubling thing about his testimony is this spurious self serving claim that he (Hildebrand) is “The Architect” of the Obmama campaign. Now that is simply unforgivable. Why? Well, in the first place, that statement will draw a copyright infringement suit from Rove who is sure to say the word architect aka Bush’s brain is already taken. But more important than that, this statement contradicts the claim by big media that Axelgrease was “The Architect” of the Obama campaign.

It would appear that both Axelrod and Hildebrand are liars, and the true architect of the Obama campaign in the early stages of the campaign was Rove. Certainly there is some evidence to that effect. And that serves to confirm the well founded suspicion that where the Obama campaign is concerned the first liar doesn’t have a chance. Unless it is Obama himself in which case his lies trump all others and objections are either censored by big media or drowned out by thunderous big media applause. Could anyone be this dishonest. Well, as new facts come to light the evidence against big media speaks for itself. They have the moral scruples of an alley cat, and we should give no weight whatsoever to their opinions.

The Wall Street Journal reports this morning that part of the bond market has shut down because credit raters like Moody’s have told issuers they can’t quote their ratings.

    http://www.cjr.org/the_audit/surprise_ratings_firms_nailed.php

Why? Because the financial-reform bill (law in a couple of hours) makes Moody’s, S&P, and Fitch—who were critical enablers of the financial crisis—for the first time liable for what they say. They’ve hidden behind the First Amendment for years.

Once the bill is signed into law, advice by the services will be considered “expert” if used in formal documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. That definition would make them legally liable for their work, meaning that it will be easier to sue a firm if a bond doesn’t perform up to the stated rating.

That is a change from the current law, which considers ratings merely an opinion, protected like any other media such as a newspaper. And…

The companies say that, until they get a better understanding of their legal exposure, they are refusing to let bond issuers use their ratings.

That is important because some bonds, notably those that are made up of consumer loans, are required by law to include ratings in their official documentation.

That means new bond sales in the $1.4 trillion market for mortgages, autos, student loans and credit cards could effectively shut down.

There have been no new asset-backed bonds put on sale this week, in stark contrast to last week, when $3 billion of issues were sold. Market participants say the new law is partly behind the slowdown.

    Burn the bastards!
Seeing all this coming out makes me the happiest I’ve been since the damned Denver convention! And even before that, when in the spring of ’08 the Levin brothers, Senator and Rep from Michigan told us bluntly, with real or fake regret, that our hopes for Hillary were doomed…Rep Levin’s words of that time, so early in the game, have played over and over in our ears, ”The deck is stacked against her.”
Even before that we went to Howard Dean’s snooty little high-roller fund raisers for the Dem Party here on Martha’s Vineyard, because he deceived us into thinking Hillary had a chance, but as we Hillary people left we could smell conniving going on behind our backs among a few who hung back to “chat” with Dean. We left with the stink of ugly collusion in our noses.
Long before that, in the fall of ’07, we cancelled our subscription to The Boston Globe telling them we resented their obvious political bias (the woman on the phone told us there were thousands of us!) One by one, we cancelled Newsweek and Time and The New York Times, etc. We suffered outrage over the biased TV bastard “journalists” and clung to hillaryis44.org as the only source of truth.
But what hit us very hard was when people we knew well and believed to be intelligent and sensible turned against us with accusations of racism. How often I wanted to write you specific details of our experiences, but we have a business here on Martha’s Vineyard, our survival depends upon it, and a degree of anonymity is important, even though our views are well known to our old customers, some of whom harassed us in public places with overt snubs and taunts in the form of chanting O-ba-ma in our faces and slurring us with the hateful word “racist” even though they knew damned well it was bullshit.
And it was so hard to bear the uneasy fear that our AA friends of years might be secretly contemptuous of us – especially when we realized via Rev Wright that a large segment of the AA population hated white people and hated their own country, and yet the news that a presidential candidate had spent years sharing that hatred was disregarded while it was made to seem that the whole white population was being put down as racist. All of Obama’s glaring faults and inadequacies were disregarded and the fires of racism came flaming out of our own party while the “journalists” fanned the flames.
Some of our AA pals, good kind souls, guessing what we might be feeling, embraced us with a mist over their eyes and whispered in our ears that nothing in the political world could ever damage our friendship. That was kindness we never received from the snooty Obama people who turned away from us with accusations of racism when we insisted “the man doesn’t have the resume to qualify for the job!”
Massachusetts chose Hillary in the primary, but our delegates betrayed us. How that hurt! Kerry and Kennedy betrayed us. Oh, what a rotten time it was! Oh, the pain of seeing others of our AA friends become silent and shy around us. Oh, what evil the plotters of this campaign have caused!
Greatest pain of all, of course, was being cheated out of having the best presidential candidate to be gifted to our country in a lifetime denied to us in favor of a sleazy pseudo-intellectual con-man and realizing that our Democratic party had become as corrupt as Chicago.
They have got to pay for the pain they have caused us! I’m still crying, but I am laughing through my tears as these nefarious bastards are publicly castigated. Our country will survive this crap. Perhaps we really needed to have our noses rubbed in the shit of the true enemies of our society — especially the ever-suspect jackass journalists and politicians who think they own us. And if the Republicans think they hold the reins after November, let them beware! We know now, what the face of degenerate politics looks like.

Just stop and think about how mind bending this whole thing is. During the 1950s we used to make jokes about Pravda, Isvetia and The Daily Worker. Remember. They censored, they lied, and they twisted the truth to conform to their ideological perspective. Well . . . guess fucking what? Their lies, distortions and twistifications are as nothing compared to what we see today in our own version of state run media, namely CNN, NBC, MSNBC, CBS, NYT, LAT, etc. Thus, it is deja vu all over again only worse. Why? Because in a cruel twist of fate, if we wanted the truth about Obama and did not have FOX there to expose it then we would have to rely on Pravda, Isvestia and The Daily Worker (if it still exists). Frankly, the most incisive critique of Mr. Obama appeared in that communist newspaper article that SHV posted a while back. Yes, the world has turned over, and we now have a better idea by what he meant by change–money in the pocket of Jamie Dimon and despair for the country.

  • wbboei

The American Public should not scruple to call any dimocrat who tries to tell them that this financial bill will prevent another market crash and bailout a liar. By failing to deal with the derivative problem and Glass Steigel it all but guarantees it will happen again. That is what Wall Street, and Soros (who is the front man for European Banking interests) wanted– namely protection. And that is precisely what they got from traitors like Dodd and Frank, under the materially misleading heading of financial reform which lends itself to a sound bite which is all Obama is really interested in).

On July 20th, Atty Taitz filed an appeal to Chief Justice Roberts for verification and clarification that Justice Thomas denied the appeal due to the fact that the Denial Order is not logged at the SCOTUS website like it should be, among other discrepancies compiled below: http://obamareleaseyourrecords.blogspot.com/2010/07/attorney-taitz-appeals-to-chief-justice.html

    Q.E.D. Obama is a demagogue . . .
    ——————————
Obama Reveals Key to His Character
Wednesday, 21 Jul 2010 08:14 AM Article Font Size
    By: Ronald Kessler

If you want to know what makes President Barack Obama tick, take a look at his explanation for why Israelis have turned against him.

During an interview with Israel’s Channel Two, Obama was asked why he thinks Israelis mistrust him.

“Some of it may just be the fact that my middle name is Hussein,” he told the interviewer, “and that creates suspicion. Some of it may have to do with the fact that I have actively reached out to the Muslim community, and I think that sometimes — particularly in the Middle East — there’s the feeling of the friend of my enemy must be my enemy.”

In two sentences, Obama revealed the key to his character. Of course, the reason Israelis and a growing number of American Jews mistrust Obama is that, contrary to his claim of being a friend to Israel, he has actively sided with Israel’s enemies and dissed Israel.

The fact that Obama would take such a well-known fact and turn it into another slam against Israelis demonstrates Obama’s disingenuousness, his arrogance, and his obsessive need to blame everyone but himself for problems he has created.

“During the campaign, more Israelis supported him than did not support him,” says Morton Klein, president of the Zionist Organization of America. “And 78 percent of American Jews cast their ballots for Obama, knowing what his middle name was. Israelis like King Hussein, who has the same name.”

Klein says, “It is insulting to say Israelis have turned against Obama because of his name. It means that the Israelis are bigots against Muslims simply because they are Muslims. Of course, the reason Jews are turning against Obama is his policies. It has to do with him very unfairly pressuring the Israelis and not pressuring the Muslims and blaming Israel for all problems in the Middle East. It was only after he became president and Israelis became aware of his actions and policies that his positive support among Israelis vanished.”

Nor, Klein says, does the turnaround have anything to do with the fact that Obama is reaching out to Muslims. He notes that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also been reaching out to Muslims.

“Nobody is angry at him for that in Israel,” Klein says. “Obama’s remark was really disgraceful.”

Yet blaming others and not taking responsibility is as fundamental to Obama’s style as apples are to apple pie.

Obama blames George W. Bush for handing him a growing deficit. Never mind that, because of Obama’s wild spending spree, the national debt will double by 2019, threatening the country’s stability. Under Bush, annual federal spending totaled $24,000 per household. Obama would increase that spending under his budget plan to more than $36,000 per household by 2020.

Meanwhile, Obama is lecturing Great Britain, which is cutting government spending across the board by 25 percent, that it should reverse course and instead increase spending.

We have in the White House a president who not only disclaims responsibility for his own actions but also concocts stories such as the claim that Israelis don’t like him because his middle name is Hussein.

That is not leadership. It is demagoguery.

Gen. McChrystal, former Afghan war commander, retires
By: ANNE FLAHERTY Associated Press 07/24/10 12:20 AM EDT

Washington — Gen. Stanley McChrystal ended his 34-year career as an Army officer Friday in an emotional retirement ceremony at his military headquarters here, marking the last chapter of his swift and stunning fall from grace.
Before a crowd of a few hundred friends, family and colleagues on the Fort McNair parade grounds under an oppressively hot July sun, McChrystal said his service didn’t end as he hoped. But he regretted few decisions he had made on the battlefield, cherished his life as a soldier and was optimistic about his future, he said.
“I trusted and I still trust,” McChrystal said. “I cared and I still care. I wouldn’t have it any other way.” ………………cont’d at:

    ===========

A wooden horse can bite you.

Remember 1998? The GOP is good at turning two ‘opponents’ against each other. They wanted to get rid of sexual harrassment laws and the office of Independent Prosecutor — so they used those laws against Bill.

They’ve already got Obama’s man bringing in Hillary and her lack of loud public complaint. Pretty soon they will all start asking Hillary to verify it now. So what will she say? Won’t she have to defend Obama (as she did in earlier comments after Obama ‘won’)?

Interesting determinations already on the books re: Immigration

    http://www.columbialawreview.org/assets/pdfs/108/5/Rodriguez.pdf

“The Tenth Circuit has provided the most analysis regarding state and local law enforcement of federal immigration law. In United States v. Vasquez-Alvarez and United States v. Santana-Garcia, the court of appeals ruled that federal immigration law did not displace state authority to make arrests for violations of federal immigration law. In Vasquez-Alvarez, the defendant was arrested by an Edmond, Oklahoma, police officer based solely on his illegal immigration status. The court stated that immigration provisions indicated that there was no conflict between state and federal immigration enforcement. While federal law did not itself authorize the arrest of an immigrant by a state officer, it did not displace state authority to do so. In fact, the court noted that the portions of immigration law that outline how states may cooperate with the federal government “evince[ ] a clear invitation from Congress for state and local agencies to participate in the process of enforcing federal immigration laws.”

The Tenth Circuit cited Vasquez-Alvarez two years later in United States v. Santana-Garcia, a case involving a Utah state trooper who pulled over a vehicle that failed to stop at an intersection. While ultimately concluding that the officer had probable cause to stop the vehicle in the first place, the court stated that “federal law as currently written does nothing ‘to displace . . . state or local authority to arrest individuals violating federal immigration laws.’”

    3. State Enforcement. — Even if the Immigration and Naturalization Acts do not preempt state enforcement, an additional element must be present before state officials can enforce federal immigration law: express authorization under state law to enforce federal law. Even in Gonzales, in which the court of appeals stated that state enforcement of civil immigration provisions was preempted by federal law, enforcement of criminal provisions was allowed only if state law authorized such enforcement.”

What did this Hildebrand guy look like anyway!

  • confloyd

    Why He Matters
Hildebrand is a lifelong political operative, part of that rare breed that has no interest in joining the administrations he helps put in place. But in early 2010, he considered in challenging Blue Dog Rep. Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin (D-S.D.) over her opposition to President Obama’s health-care reform package. Preston, Mark, CNN’s Political Ticker, March 17, 2010(1)Preston, Mark, CNN’s Political Ticker, March 17, 2010

Since joining Tom Daschle’s bid for 1986 Senate bid, Hildebrand has moved from campaign to campaign, focusing mainly on his home region: the Midwest. Hildebrand was called “one of the principal architects” of Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign by The Washington Post and “Obama’s secret weapon” by the Times of London. As Obama’s 2008 deputy campaign manager, he developed the organization that proved so crucial first in Iowa and later around the country.

Before Obama had won the Iowa caucuses, Hildebrand was already setting up campaign offices in often-overlooked states like Idaho, which would eventually net Obama 12 delegates on Super Tuesday in February 2008.

After the 2008 presidential campaign ended, Hildebrand returned to his political consulting firm to work on issue campaigns from outside of the White House. His first major task was climate change; in 2009, he teamed up with Al Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection to try and build grassroot support for global warming legislation.

As to Dean: Howard Dean has plenty to answer for in what he allowed. In a sense he already has paid because Obama knows Dean cannot be trusted – once a back-stabber, always a back-stabber. Dean, a doctor, was not let anywhere near health care and is despised by the Obama people and is nowhere to be seen. Dean’s stupid supporters don’t seem to understand that they are viewed with suspicion by the Obama thugs and their great 50 state strategy hero (later 48 state strategy) is a leper.

Dean has been in trouble mentally for a long time now. His wife and he are a fiction and we don’t doubt a Gore type moment is coming to him too.

Also, Dean must have known that the very same people who absolutely trashed him in 2003-2004 practically all became the Obama political operation. In 2003, every DC political operative was making it very clear that Dean had to be destroyed. The grassroots Deaniacs who visited Washington and had some political awareness and contacts were always surprised at the vitriol and “stop him” hatred the DC establishment held against Dean. The “if Dean is the nominee we will lose big” comments from the very top of political operatives and the mid level ones as well oftentimes was voiced at public events.

The very same anti-Dean establishment then became the anti-Hillary establishment working for Obama. In 2008 Dean did the bidding of those who destroyed him in 2004 and in 2010 he is a pariah.

Here’s Robert Gibbs’ 2004 anti-Dean contribution (note the irony about experience):

NOPE, not true. If intelligent people know the truth, then the wheat can be separated from the shaft.
Hildebrand did bring up something that was predictable. He said that Hillary did not complain, that she quickly turned around and supported The Won, and that she now works for him….and said that if the allegations were true she would have not done those things like support and work for him.
Ed Rendell was on again and I want to cry every time I see his face. My heart broke when he went straight from supporting Hillary to shilling for The Won. I trusted him and he seemed like such a stand up guy. Live and learn.

NATO: Taliban claims to have captured 2 U.S. troops in Afghanistan

By Joshua Partlow and Javed Hamdard
    Washington Post Foreign Service
    Saturday, July 24, 2010; 4:41 PM

KABUL — Two American service members went missing after driving off their base in Kabul on Friday afternoon, and the Taliban later claimed to have captured them in eastern Afghanistan, NATO officials said Saturday, the same day five U.S. troops were killed in the south.

The coalition launched a manhunt by ground and air for the two missing troops but did not immediately release information about their identities or what is known of their whereabouts. The Associated Press reported that the two were Navy personnel, citing a NATO official who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

“Every available asset is being brought to bear” to find them, said Lt. Col. Joseph T. Breasseale, a NATO spokesman in Kabul.

Afghan officials in Logar province, which borders Kabul to the south, said the service members were driving an armored sport-utility vehicle when they were captured in Matinai, a village in the Charkh district. A spokesman for Logar’s governor, Din Mohammad Darwish, said the area is “totally under control of the enemy.”

A Taliban spokesman, Zabiullah Mujahid, called Afghan reporters in Logar on Saturday and told them the militant movement had captured the two Americans and killed one of them, according to an Afghan reporter and the governor’s spokesman. NATO officials said they could not confirm the claims of either the Afghan officials or the Taliban.

The announcement of the service members’ disappearance came on difficult day for NATO forces, as five U.S. troops were killed in bomb attacks in southern Afghanistan, the volatile region where the Taliban is strongest. Four of the troops died in a single bomb blast in the south, while another died in a separate attack, according to NATO officials.

The deaths pushed NATO’s death toll in July to 75 killed, including 56 Americans. This follows a month that was the deadliest of the war for NATO troops, with more than 100 killed. President Obama has sent 30,000 new U.S. troops to Afghanistan, and commanders attribute the growing violence to the fact that those soldiers are pushing into Taliban strongholds where the coalition previously had a minimal presence. Others say the Taliban has grown stronger by the year and point out that it now controls wide swaths of the country.

Kidnappings of U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan are rare. One other American soldier, Spec. Bowe Bergdahl, from Idaho, has been held captive since June 2009. Bergdahl, who had been stationed in the eastern province of Paktika, has shown up in insurgent videos.

Has Kurtz’s freefall into liberal-lala-land stopped?

    By Howard Kurtz
    Washington Post Staff Writer
    Friday, July 23, 2010; C01

To conservatives, it is a pulling back of the curtain to expose the media’s mendacity.

To liberals, it is a selective sliming based on e-mails that were supposed to remain private.

But there is no getting around the fact that some of these messages, culled from the members-only discussion group Journolist, are embarrassing. They show liberal commentators appearing to cooperate in an effort to hammer out the shrewdest talking points against the Republicans — including, in one case, a suggestion for accusing random conservatives of being racist.

  • basil9

    Kurtz ends with this.

‘But there is no escaping the fact that some of the list’s liberal literati come off sounding like cagey political operatives.’

    Tomorrow’s show should be interesting.

Clinton may challenge Texas vote rules

By Beth Fouhy, Associated Press Writer
LAREDO, Texas — Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign has raised the possibility of a challenge to Texas’ primary and caucus rules just days before the contest, drawing a warning against legal action from the state’s Democratic Party.
Top strategists for Democratic rival Barack Obama said Friday they supported the party’s action, suggesting the Clinton campaign was trying to block the reporting of caucus results.

Aides to Clinton said earlier this week they were alarmed at the lack of clarity about many of the caucus rules and expressed their concerns on a conference call with Obama’s staff and state party officials. Texas has a two-step voting process, with a primary and then caucuses shortly after the polls close.

Specifically, Clinton aides questioned a provision allowing caucus attendees to vote to move the location if they choose to do so, and whether people who had cast so-called “provisional ballots” in the primary would have their votes counted in the caucus.

They also expressed concern about the automated phone system precinct chairs would use to call in the results of each caucus, saying the party hadn’t yet trained anyone to use the system properly.

Clinton political director Guy Cecil said he asked party officials to spell out the rules in memo form and to send them to both campaigns.

“We want to see the results in writing, and we reserve the right to challenge something if we don’t believe it reflects something that was discussed on the call,” he said, insisting that if there were clear problems with how the caucuses were being run, “you are allowed to say something about it.”

Cecil on Friday denied that the campaign planned to sue the party, which will manage roughly 8,700 caucuses Tuesday evening.

“There were no veiled threats of lawsuits of any kind,” Cecil said of the conference call.

Obama campaign manager David Plouffe said the Clinton campaign was trying to minimize the results of the caucuses. The former first lady and her team have made clear their unhappiness with caucuses, believing that they cater to the hard-core party activists who tend to support Obama. The Illinois senator has won 13 caucuses so far, while Clinton has won just two.

“This takes it to a new level, which is they don’t want the people who are participating in those caucuses to have their results reported in a timely fashion. And I assume that’s a very self-serving decision,” Plouffe said.

Texas party officials said they believed Cecil was threatening legal action and wrote a letter to him and to Obama senior strategist Steve Hildebrand reflecting that concern.

“If it is true that litigation is imminent between one or both of your campaigns and the Texas Democratic Party, such action could prove to be a tragedy for a reinvigorated democratic process that is involving a record number of participants here in Texas and across the nation,” party attorney Chad Dunn wrote. “Litigation regarding the TDP could cripple the momentum of a resurging Texas Democratic Party and ultimately the November 2008 election.”

The letter also noted that many of Clinton’s senior campaign advisers in Texas had helped to develop the rules governing the state’s caucus system. A Texas party official also noted that former President Clinton won the state’s caucuses in 1992 and 1996 following the same rules.

Texas has 193 delegates up for grabs Tuesday. Of those delegates, 126 will come from the primary, and 67 from the caucus

Los Zetas drug cartel seizes 2 U.S. ranches in Texas

In what could be deemed an act of war against the sovereign borders of the United States, Mexican drug cartels have seized control of at least two American ranches inside the U.S. territory near Laredo, Texas.

Two sources inside the Laredo Police Department confirmed the incident is unfolding and they would continue to coordinate with U.S. Border Patrol today. “We consider this an act of war,” said one police officer on the ground near the scene. There is a news blackout of this incident at this time and the sources inside Laredo PD spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Word broke late last night that Laredo police have requested help from the federal government regarding the incursion by the Los Zetas. It appears that the ranch owners have escaped without incident but their ranches remain in the hands of the blood thirsty cartels.

Laredo Border Patrol is conducting aerial surveillance over the ranches to determine the best way to regain control of the U.S. ranches, according to the Laredo Police department.

The approximate location of the U.S. ranches are10 miles northwest of I-35 off Mines Road and Minerales Annex Road. Just off 1472 (Mines road) near Santa Isabel Creek south of the city of Laredo, Texas.

The Los Zetas drug cartel is an offshoot of the elite Mexican military trained in special ops. The mercenary organization is said to include members of corrupt Mexican Federales, politicians as well as drug traffickers. The group was once part of the Gulf cartel, but has since splintered and now directly competes with the Gulf cartel for premium drug smuggling routes in the Texas region.

The new leader of Los Zetas is Heriberto “El Lazca” Lazcano and is considered the most violent paramilitary group in Mexico by the DEA.

Recently the drug organization has kidnapped tourists, infiltrated local municipalities and continues to smuggle narcotics into a very hungry U.S. market.

The violence south of the border continues to spin out of control and has left Nuevo Laredo, Mexico on virtual lockdown with businesses refusing to open the doors. Last week a particularly violent attack by the Los Zetas included the use of grenades and resulted in a dozen deaths and 21 injuries.

The hostile takeover of the ranches has met with silence with local and national media; however sources say they could be waiting to report the stories once the ranches are back in U.S. control. This journalist questions if this was a Middle Eastern terrorist attack if the media would sit on their hands.

Stay tuned for updates reports throughout the weekend.

Covering the story damages Obama — AND Hillary…….
NOPE, not true. If intelligent people know the truth, then the wheat can be separated from the shaft.

I DIDN’T MEAN IT SHOULD BE SUPPRESSED. PROBABLY IT IS BEST AS YOU SAY. HOWEVER IN THE SHORT RUN, RIGHT NOW, IT WILL BECOME AN EMBARRASSMENT TO HILLARY. IT WILL PUT HER ON THE SPOT. THAT’S PROBABLY ANOTHER USE THE GOP ARE MAKING OF IT: TO EMBARASS H AS WELL AS O.

Hildebrand did bring up something that was predictable. He said that Hillary did not complain, that she quickly turned around and supported The Won, and that she now works for him….and said that if the allegations were true she would have not done those things like support and work for him.

A VALID POINT. THAT’S HOW THEY WILL USE IT TO DAMAGE HER.

Ed Rendell was on again and I want to cry every time I see his face. My heart broke when he went straight from supporting Hillary to shilling for The Won.

SO DID HILLARY. SHE WENT STRAIGHT FROM SUPPORTING HER OWN CAMPAIGN TO SHILLING FOR OBAMA.

I trusted him and he seemed like such a stand up guy. Live and learn.

IF SHE HAS AN EXCUSE, MAYBE RENDELL DID TOO.

  • confloyd

Well I have to say this fool/liar Hildebrand has asked for Hillary to say something about this….so this definitely is going to cost her or at least bring her out if she is planning on running.

I have to agree with Turndown this time…this is not good.

I don’t think its coming from the rethugs, my guess its coming from the Obama’s…I think this Hildebrand thing of him asking her to make a statement is coming directly from Obama.

I think it shows that the Obama campaign feels a need for damage controlor Hildebrand would not have been put out there. Or I suppose he could be grasping as savings his reputation. I do not think this story would hurt Hillary. With all that she had against her last time she ran (pretty well the entire DNC and the press) she still got the popular vote. I do not think she would lose any of her base and I do think Obama would not keep his base. You would think that the country would be read to be led by someone who has a brain after all that has gone on. I am not saying Hillary would win but I do not think this story would work against her.
There is a certain nobility about Hillary saying that she put her country first.

I added 10% of independents (as there are NO republicans in the 24-26% figure) to get to 35%. And at that point, they would be seriously questioning their support. It is at that point that I think Hillary should pounce. If you ask me, I think President Clinton sees the writing on the wall which is why he is campaining for House Dems. Lining up support……

Even if he is not gay I think the repugs should champion Aaron Schock as their gay man. He’d have a cakewalk to the senate if he wanted. the party would have the perfect poster boy for diversity. Way to pretty to be asked to think so the press would give him a pass. He can get married in silence and only tell the world he is straight once he gets thick around the middle. Mean while gays vote and raise tons of money so why not make Aaron the Log Cabin centerfold. Ignore what his preference may actually be.

If the Obama crew push Hillary on this it may be the time for her to say adios. She can leave with her head held high for doing a great job at State and just say she needs a little down time. There are interviews with supporters, staff, and lawyers and she does not have to say anything. Hillebrand is a hired gun and will work for anyone who can rub two quarters together. He is trying to save his own ass lying about no complaints filed which was shot down fast. When political parties hit the 30 some odd % range they are not viable as a political party. They cannot win elections and then they cannot raise money. The Democrats have already hit this skid and they know it. Democrats are going to have to come to terms with their crimes to subvert the voting process which is killing their meal ticket, prestige, and power. They will have to clean their own house or the public and/or Republicans will do it for them. Exiling half of your most reliable voters will come to be seen as one of the stupidest political strategies of all times.

Stop the drama with the caps, please. We can all read your posts here just fine… and we see through the lame excuse not fooling anyone with html code..

The only one who looks like a loser is YOU because you refuse to face reality!
The GOP is going to get nothing but a headache if Hillary resigns and runs.

Lately, it’s been sour grapes coming from you. Al Gore’s embarrassing behavior has you all wrapped up in a tizzy. You are BITTER because we’ve been proven right about your boy, Al Gore- He’s a Cheat, Liar and a Thief. Now the whole world knows about it- and his credibility has been irrevocably damaged beyond repair. I would have thought more of you had you admitted you were mistaken about Gore. But your reacting from a bruised ego feeling foolish for defending him rather than simply admitting you were wrong…(Do you do that often to your own detriment?) I would have understood it was an honest mistake. At one point we all liked Gore… mainly because the Clintons gave him star status, never because we thought of him as their equal. You’re the one that got hung up deluding yourself he was more than what he was… WE read the signs along the way that first said caution… (yellow light) not allowing Bill to help him win in 2000.. was the first humiliating slap issued by Gore… and the next huge slap came, when he had the chance to redeem himself and support Hillary. He chose to support Obama. (Big Red light) That one was the telling sign… but you refused to acknowledge all the signs and chose to continue blindly down a losing path and consistently argue with us… trying to equate the hypocrite Gore to the Clintons. It didn’t work did it?

For heaven sake… wake-up! His wife left him. She knows him a hell of alot better than you do… and I don’t believe she did it for the coverup massage stories. It’s for something uglier and more distasteful… Gore sold his soul to the Devil. He was involved with Soros (he funded his movie) and helped convince the world Global Warming ….. IS CAUSED BY HUMANS…. Gore owed Soros big Time for the millions spent on the movie.. Soros mastermined a plan to get the Climategate agreement in place in Copenhagen. Soros planned on making billions by creating a sham excuse called Carbon Credits that would be auctioned off and sold to Big Business Polluters. Soros planned on being the strongest bidder for the Carbon Credits where Big Business would be forced to come to him to buy credits (at any price he set) to be in compliance with newly created World Wide Clean Water and Clean Air Laws.

The Climate may be warming but it’s a natural cyclical event and has nothing to do with human interaction.. AND THERES NOTHING WE CAN DO TO STOP IT! All we can do is prepare for it! We should be thinking in terms of what are the consequences and how can we prepare the population for a new world order that includes global warming and it’s ramifications.

The Chicken Little routine is getting a little old, so please stopit… you’re the only one the sky fell in on because you believed in the sanctity of Gore.

Hillary will be fine.. She has us, come Hell or HighWater!

Chelsea Clinton’s wedding: ready for her big moment and more

As Chelsea Clinton prepares for her wedding, The Sunday Telegraph has learnt that she is also being groomed for a role with the Clinton Foundation

    By Philip Sherwell
    25 Jul 2010

Her father was the once world’s most powerful politician, her mother is now the USA’s top diplomat and both are immediately recognised around the globe. So it is all the more remarkable that Chelsea Clinton has done such a good job of avoiding the spotlight for much of her life.

But that is about to change. Next weekend the former first daughter is to marry her long-time boyfriend, Marc Mezvinsky, a financier – an event which, with a glittering array of guests expected from around the world, will put her unavoidably in the spotlight.

What is more, The Sunday Telegraph has been told that Miss Clinton is also being groomed to take on her parents’ formidable legacy on the international stage.

Armed with a newly-acquired master’s degree in public health from New York’s prestigious Columbia University, she is being lined up for a top role at the philanthropic foundation set up by her father, ex-president Bill Clinton.

The expectation among friends and family is that she will eventually take over its running from her father – ensuring that, as he eventually assumes a lower public profile, that part of his legacy continues to be burnished for a generation to come.

For now, however, Miss Clinton, 30, clearly has other priorities. On Saturday, she will marry Mr Mezvinsky, 32, an investor banker whose parents both served in Congress and whose father recently completed a different sort of term – five years in prison for fraud.

The bride has done her best to keep the details secret. Her mother, secretary of state Hillary Clinton, said in Pakistan last week that she is under strict orders to let nothing slip, although she did reveal that her husband was a bundle of nerves.

The 400 guests have so far only been told that they should make sure they are within driving distance of New York next weekend. But it will come as no surprise when they are informed that their destination is a country mansion just outside Rhinebeck, 90 miles north of the city.

More specifically, unless the family has deployed huge resources and scores of Secret Service agents in one of the great bluffs of all time, they will be directed to Astor Courts, a 26,000 sq ft mansion inspired by Versailles and built by tycoon John Jacob Astor IV who later died on the Titanic.

A partial guest list has also emerged in and it just as glittering as might be expected for the only child of American political royalty. President Barack Obama, talk show queen Oprah Winfrey, singer Barbra Streisand, Hollywood mogul Steven Spielberg, media baron Ted Turner and a clutch of Clintonista politicos have reportedly been invited.

So too have the two British prime ministers who were Mr Clinton’s counterparts during his presidency – Tony Blair, with whom the Clintons are close, and perhaps more surprisingly John Major. There may be one notable absentee – Mr Obama is thought to have politely declined in the hope of preventing the event becoming even more of a media scrum.

What Miss Clinton does next is, of course, shrouded in the secrecy she so desires. Mr Clinton has evidently confided to friends that he hopes to become a grandfather. And his daughter is expected to take on an increasing role with his foundation – with the ultimate goal that she could succeed him and continue the family brand on the world stage.

For now, the 63-year-old ex-president maintains a tough international schedule, despite his heart problems. In February – after a trip to Haiti with his daughter – he was taken to hospital with chest pains and was fitted with two stents to restore blood flow to a coronary artery, five years after undergoing quadruple bypass surgery. But one day he will have to listen to doctors’ advice to slow down.

Miss Clinton studiously avoids media attention, gives no interviews and has shown no interest in following her parents’ into politics – despite her assured and impressive appearances on the campaign trail for her mother during the 2008 Democratic presidential primary race.

Rather than return to her job at Avenue Capital, a New York hedge fund run by a prominent Clinton donor, she went back to college to study health policy and management at Columbia. She took courses that focused on international health initiatives and programmes to tackle Aids – just the sort of work conducted by the Clinton Foundation, set up by her father in New York after he left the White House in 2001. He has since turned his Clinton Global Initiative meetings into a glitzy fixture on the world charity calendar.

Miss Clinton’s interest in global health issues is long-standing. As a student, she interned one summer at the World Health Organization in Geneva, working on a United Nations initiative on healthy environments for children.

“If you look at what Chelsea has studied and what she specialised in, it all points to her being groomed to take over the Clinton Foundation,” said an insider at Columbia.

A political acquaintance of the Clintons said that the prospect that she would eventually replace her father at the head of the foundation was also often discussed among family confidantes.

And David McDowell, a leading New York psychiatrist who has studied the Clinton family dynamic, said: “Legacy is clearly very important to the Clintons and they are also by all accounts great parents. So as Chelsea has clearly made a decision to stay out of politics, what better way to carry on the legacy than for her to end up running the foundation?”

Miss Clinton has remained fiercely loyal to her parents, during the toughest times politically and personally. That devotion was captured in an iconic image at the height of the impeachment controversy over her father’s affair with Monica Lewinsky when the 18-year-old was pictured between her parents, holding their hands as they walked across the White House lawns unable to look at each other.

That was a part of the transformation she underwent after she moved into the White House as a gawky 12-year-old with braces and a mane of frizzy hair. The Clintons, for all their love of the public spotlight, did an impressive job of shielding their daughter from the media during her teenage years.

After school, she studied first at Stanford University in California and then followed her father’s footsteps to Oxford. And it was during her time in England that she had her brief flirtation with the celebrity world.

Miss Clinton unveiled a sleek bob hairstyle at a Versace fashion show where she sat and chatted with Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow, and was seen dancing with Paul McCartney, dining with Bianca Jagger and drinking with Bono from U2.

She also met her first serious boyfriend at Oxford – Ian Klaus, a Rhodes scholar like her father. But they split after her return to America where she worked first as a management consultant for McKinsey and then for the hedge fund – acquiring the sort of managerial and financial acumen that would be extremely valuable at the Clinton Foundation.

She also started dating Mr Mezvinsky, a decade after they first met as teens in the 1990s. But perhaps the signs were always present – there is a famous picture of a youthful Chelsea looking admiringly at the handsome older boy while their parents attended a Democratic retreat.

They have both since endured the experience of scandals engulfing their fathers. It is not known if Ed Mezvinsky, 73, a former Democratic congressman convicted of $10 million fraudulent business deals and released from prison in 2008, will join the party on Saturday.

Another uncertainty is the religious make-up of the ceremony: Miss Clinton is the daughter of a Methodist mother and a Southern Baptist father, while the Mezvinsky family is Jewish from the Conservative movement.

Miss Clinton has returned to her preferred low profile since her mother’s failed presidential run. But she is sighted out and about in Manhattan where the couple lives in an apartment they bought for $3.8 million in the fashionable Flatiron district – a few subways stops on the express train from the foundation’s Harlem offices.

And she has twice accompanied her father on his foreign trips – on a tour across Africa focused on his foundation’s work on poverty and Aids, as well as to Haiti after the devastating Jan 12 earthquake.

Mrs Clinton was herself globe-trotting last week, visiting Afghanistan, Pakistan, South Korea and Vietnam even as she checked arrangements for July 31 on her Blackberry and fired off emails calling herself MOTB (mother of the bride).

One issue on which she offered long-distance maternal advice on a previous trip was the choice of wedding dress. When Miss Clinton is given away by her slimmed-down father – he said recently that he was close to the 15 pound weight loss she has prescribed – she will be wearing a gown by the designer Oscar de la Renta, a favourite of her mother.

But it was her husband’s ability to get through the day that seemed to give Mrs Clinton most concern. “You should assume that if he makes it down the aisle in one piece it’s a major accomplishment,” she said last week. “He is going to be so emotional, as am I.”

John Seigel is NOT a good spokesman ON TV for Hillary. He stumbles and stammers and his eyes shift around. He has the proof and is a very good documentary maker. But his rebuttal to Hildebrand was not strong enough. Perhaps Hildebrand is a skilled liar nad Seigel is not. At least the fraud of the primaries is getting out and I’m thrilled FOX has someone on to do this, however, a Seigel is NOT an ideal spokesman/woman.

Tim Gitner(sp) is on the tv and while watching him I ended up wondering when he is lying.

When his forehead is smooth and he is looking straight at the camera or when his head is tilted down and as he peaks up his forehead is a mass of wrinkles? Or just all the time. Most of the pictures I have seen of him show the mass of wrinkles.

  • Mrs. Smith

    Betty-

While typing my next post… Geithner LIES with unparalleled ease. Every word out of his mouth was a LIE. He should be taken to task for the lies about the economy, halving the deficit in a few years, returning to the surpluses created by the Clinton administration, reducing the size of government, when the other day, advertisements were plentiful on the web for hiring 200,000 more government employees. yetch!

But nice spin for a change, Jan. I’m thrilled Chelsea chose Oscar de la Renta for her designer. I’m sure her gown will be spectacularly understated but illuminatingly gorgeous as it should be, complimenting her physical characteristics and personality. I’m hoping there are tons of candid pictures capturing the wedding festivities for her supporters. We can’t be there but our best wishes are wrapped in emotion, love and caring… we’ve waited so long for this day…

Great plans for Chelsea taking over her father’s foundation. Chelsea will be safe and sound working for her Dad and can probably work from home. Bill has been cultivating the Clinton Foundation for at least five years now and has done a stellar job of attracting Green businesses and Non-Profits who have come through with innovative designs in Clean Energy and Clean Water implementing them in the Third World countries where they can be duplicated over and over again by DIY’ers committed to making the World a better place.

Obama, if he hasn’t to date, should apologize to Bill for the racist smear against Hillary and himself during the Primary. Take a look at the Clinton Global Initiative web link. What do you see? For sure you don’t see Obama !

The last sentence from Ickes shows Hildebrand as a mega liar. Send this video to the woman at Fox who is doing these interviews.

Covering the story damages Obama — AND Hillary…….
NOPE, not true. If intelligent people know the truth, then the wheat can be separated from the shaft.
    ********************************************************************

    imho…

…the more I think about it and the outcome of the primaries and Hillary leaving the race…and then down the road accepting the SOS position…the more I think that was part of a deal when Hillary left the race and endorsed O…

I suspect there was a deal behind the scenes and Hill and Bill were part of it…the result being Hillary at State and able to call all her shots there…and Bill left alone…and Hillary remaining a player, but so wisely outside of the political arena…win-win for her…

At least the fraud of the primaries is getting out and I’m thrilled FOX has someone on to do this, however, a Seigel is NOT an ideal spokesman/woman.

    ************************************************

Southern Born…I was thinking the same exact thing…Seigel is not a good spokesperson…he hesitates and does not project enough strength and confidence…they need someone with self assurance and who is BOLD and speaks using examples and paints the picture…and with a more commanding voice…

    Seigel comes across shy…

    **************************************************

two things of note from the morning news:

…Blumberg is considering running as an independent in 2012…he is ‘weighing’ the climate and who the repub candidate will be…that could shake things up…

…and just happended to catch the wrap of CM Show…and Howard Fineman dared to say what everyone knows…CM brought up Bill being the heavy hitter and go to guy to save the dems during the midterms and how the WH and O need Bill…

…and then Howard says what everyone knows…that when O is out stumping these days, he never mentions Bill’s admin…howard goes on how O attacked the Clinton admin during the primaries but now O needs to sell the success of Bill’s admin and O cannot bring himself to speak of Bill and his success…even though O, the WH and the dems need BC to save their sorry selves in the midterms…

…I am thinking Bill is so shrewd because he can go out and campaign for these dems and while he is at it remind people of his successful administration, surplus, job creation, etc…so Bill is in win – win…he is helping dems and bringing back fond memories and facts of his admin…once again paving the way for Hillary…and the resurgence of the ‘COMEBACK COUPLE’…there is such a nice ring to that…

Hillary and Bill Clinton…the Comeback Couple…love it!

…and while Bill is doing campaigning there is a inadvertant comparison to the failings of O…created without words…by a mental comparison…

    *****************************************

re: Geithner…he has always reminded me of some kind of martian character…something about his ears and that wide eyed, dear in the headlights look he always has…it just always seems like he is not telling the truth…

it would be great to see him hooked up to a polygraph while he is speaking…

heck, it would be great to see O hooked up to a polygraph while he is speaking and reading his teleprompter…that would be interesting…off the charts…

Thanks for the latest installment of “As Barack’s World Ends”.
I thought the guy did a pretty good job of defending the consumate liar Hildebrand.
What is it that Obama seems to accumulate a lot of liars on his team???

I do now believe something is in the works…I heard a little “journolist” stuff on CNN this morning at some round table…but had to leave for a GI bleed so I did not hear anything except them saying “no main stream media” was involved with effort to elevate Barack. Yeah Right!

Fareed the commentator was on again this morning and was not too kind to Obama, but he certainly is trying to mess with Afganistan…I don’t like this guy. He also had on Holbrooke and I don’t think Holbrooke liked him either.

Allison Kamarogee or something like that on Fox.

  • LJ

It made me so mad watching that Hildebrand video. I interned on Hillary’s campaign, and I remember horror stories from the staff members who were at Caucus’ in Texas who were literally being harassed and felt completely un-safe. I also remember a staffer telling me about the election stealing going down in Indiana. Do you guys remember that? That last county who didn’t report any of its votes until the end and how ballot boxes were stolen? Now that was a real story that the press refused to cover. Let’s talk about that too. It makes me SO MAD.

Mrs. Smith, Send him this video too. Its my all time favorite.

  • ShortTermer

The interviewer on Fox is Alisyn Comarati. Can anyone please post her email addy?
I saw her again this am and I thought she did a brilliant job of being fair and balanced and assertive. Thank you Alisyn. She said they were waiting to hear from the DNC. And the guy on asked her and viewers to access Harold Ickes and the term ‘hijacking’ on youtube of the R&B Committee meeting. Hildebrand is such a sucky a$$hole, so sleazy. Yuck!

  • confloyd

Looks like some of those comments on her blog are from bots…the interesting thing is about those bots they aren’t blaming the “One” for the firing of Sherrod. These guys really need a brain scan!

  • pm317

    Thanks, lorac.

I left a comment with the video link to Ickes at RBC meeting (it gets embedded automatically which is nice). There were about 120 some comments and no one had linked or addressed this issue. Where are all the pumas.. go and comment there if you want to influence more of what she does.

  • JanH

  • pm317

I stand corrected. There is a commenter PUMA on the Fox blog (lorac linked) who is fighting the good fight and had linked Ickes video (hers did not get embedded, don’t know why).

  • ShortTermer

I love me some Harold Ickes. I so hope that Alisyn will have him on, he would blow it out of the water, and could validate the fraud, thievery and thuggery during the primary. I am going to ask her to have Ickes on, would you do the same?

  • Mrs. Smith

Hillary’s spokesman addressed Hildebrand’s comments this am. I didn’t see it, but from the comments here, he wasn’t very effective. Seeing this is Wedding week in the Clinton household, I doubt Hillary will savor the opportunity getting into a firefight for any reason with anyone. I’m sure it will hold. Picking this particular week for raising the stolen Michigan delegates issue at the RBC Meeting seems a bit uncanny, when they have had 2yrs to raise and dispose of the issue when timeliness was definitely an important factor.

  • confloyd

Mrs.Smith, It is a bit uncanny that they would bring this all up the week of the wedding. I also think Hillary in the position she has now would not want to wade into it which is why Hildebrand said “ask Hillary” with a smirk on this face.
He either knows of the deal between Obama and Hillary or knows that Hillary is blackmailed, which is it?

  • confloyd

The big thing that came out of this is the fact that Hildebrand is an out and out liar. I imagine as more Pumas hear about this and listen to this jerk, it will bring it all back to them.

I still can’t believe he sat there and lied like that, which a straight face! I think even Alyson knew he was lying!

  • lorac

    pm317 – that’s me, posting as “PUMA” :)

I thought it was really sleazy of him to suggest they ask Hillary, he knows d*mn well she can’t address the cheating while she is SOS.

It would be great for them to have Ickes on, but I don’t know if he would do it. “Politics”, you know….. (sigh)

  • Mrs. Smith

    Well, confloyd.

After next week, I would advise Hilderbrand to hold on to his rear end with both hands. :)

  • confloyd

Mrs. Smith, ROTFLMAO! I hope you right!

  • confloyd

Lorac, Yeah, that pist me off too. I dare him mention that they should ask Hillary…I wanted to kick his ass…its a good thing I live so far from the Fox studios….I would have my posters and some brass knuckles in my purse every freaking day. Heck my purse is so heavy…its a lethal weapon, LOL!

If the Obama crew push Hillary on this it may be the time for her to say adios. She can leave with her head held high for doing a great job at State and just say she needs a little down time. There are interviews with supporters, staff, and lawyers and she does not have to say anything.

Do those that think this is bad also think that Hillary should just end her political career because the DNC, her party and the cheating, liar of a fraud stole the election from her?

Do you forget that Hillary was trashed and told to stop running for President even though she won more and more states. I remember the aholes having the big board up (on the MSM stations), and counting how impossible it would be for her to win, over and over.

If Hillary had come out and exposed this crap, all those that have trashed us would try and make her look like a sore looser, just like they did to us.

I am proud of Hillary for what strength she has had, pushing this disgusting drama to the side to work for her country, her fellow Americans despite their terrible corruption.

Obama backed release of Lockerbie bomber Abdel Baset al-Megrahi

THE US government secretly advised Scottish ministers it would be “far preferable” to free the Lockerbie bomber than jail him in Libya.

Correspondence obtained by The Sunday Times reveals the Obama administration considered compassionate release more palatable than locking up Abdel Baset al-Megrahi in a Libyan prison.

The intervention, which has angered US relatives of those who died in the attack, was made by Richard LeBaron, deputy head of the US embassy in London, a week before Megrahi was freed in August last year on grounds that he had terminal cancer.

The document, acquired by a well-placed US source, threatens to undermine US President Barack Obama’s claim last week that all Americans were “surprised, disappointed and angry” to learn of Megrahi’s release.

Scottish ministers viewed the level of US resistance to compassionate release as “half-hearted” and a sign it would be accepted.

The US has tried to keep the letter secret, refusing to give permission to the Scottish authorities to publish it on the grounds it would prevent future “frank and open communications” with other governments.

In the letter, sent on August 12 last year to Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond and justice officials, Mr LeBaron wrote that the US wanted Megrahi to remain imprisoned in view of the nature of the crime.

The note added: “Nevertheless, if Scottish authorities come to the conclusion that Megrahi must be released from Scottish custody, the US position is that conditional release on compassionate grounds would be a far preferable alternative to prisoner transfer, which we strongly oppose.”

Mr LeBaron added that freeing the bomber and making him live in Scotland “would mitigate a number of the strong concerns we have expressed with regard to Megrahi’s release”.

The US administration lobbied the Scottish government more strongly against sending Megrahi home, under a prisoner transfer agreement signed by the British and Libyan governments, in a deal now known to have been linked to a pound stg. 550 million oil contract for BP.

It claimed this would flout a decade-old agreement between Britain and the US that anyone convicted of the bombing would serve their sentence in a Scottish prison. Megrahi was released by Scottish Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill on the grounds that he had three months to live, making his sentence effectively spent.

The US Senate foreign relations committee launched a probe after The Sunday Times revealed this month that Megrahi’s doctors thought he could live for another decade.

A source close to the Senate inquiry said: “The (LeBaron) letter is embarrassing for the US because it shows they were much less opposed to compassionate release than prisoner transfer.”

Last week, a succession of British politicians – including Mr MacAskill, Mr Salmond and former justice secretary Jack Straw – delivered a diplomatic snub to the senators by refusing to fly across the Atlantic to answer questions at the Senate’s hearing on Thursday (US time) about their role in Megrahi’s release.

Despite the controversy over the Gulf of Mexico oil spill and Megrahi’s release, it emerged over the weekend that BP is planning deep-water drilling off Libya.

And BP boss Tony Hayward is poised to quit this week when the company announces its half-year results, London’s Sunday Telegraph reported.

Which one in the WH will have to fall on their sword on this one MOP??
The “One” isn’t going to take responsibility for it. I am surprised they haven’t asked for Vilsak resignation so it won’t look like Obama was the one that told them what to do.

He has always said “he will stand with the muslims”. I wish he would hurry up and do so, we could get him a flight out of DC to Saudi in a matter of minutes.

You are being a bully, as usual.

I will write whatever I want here. You do not run this site.

    moononpluto,

Do you think this new revelation will change anything? It just seems like nothing sticks to squat. It’s unbelievable what he gets away with.

casting dispersions on Hillary’s character will not be tolerated. For example, saying she has a choice, one of them would be throwing her supporters under the bus.

    ===============

Er, that’s probably why she wouldn’t take that choice.

Sorry, just had to refudiate this.

    shadow and shorterm,

When I’m completely agreeing with someone, I don’t chop up their post to reply to different parts. When I chop up a post with my reply, it’s because I’m disagreeing with some of the parts. (Mildly, no offense.)

I was a student at Temple University when it happened. Several of the people who perished were in the same program as I. A professor died as well. It didn’t really make any news then other than front page the day it took place and i doubt it will now.
