Some suffer from esprit de l’escalier and wish President Trump had said what they wanted to hear the way they wanted to hear it. But understand this, the job was to get information to the public that Big Media wants to keep hidden.

I noted his bias against Trump, but suggested at the same time, that there would be limits on how far he could go without hurting the brand of his employer. If you believe the key to this election is to persuade the undecideds, as most pundits do, then last night was not good. Paul Mirendorph at Powerline Blog claimed he was mildly depressed and believed Biden won the debate.
If you believe the key to winning this this election is to energize your base and to demoralize the base of your opponent, then it was a good night for Trump. The example he gives is if 100% of your base turn out and half your opponents base do not, then you do not need the undecideds even if you assume the exist. They may be nothing more than Trump voters who do not wish to declare their allegiance. By getting Biden to disavow the green new deal he proved to his base that he is a liar.

Yes. That is the narrative. But go back to what I said above. Do not be deceived by shiny objects. And do not torture yourself with these polls—not good for your health. Consider the possibility that the goal here was not to win over those so called undecides, who may turn out to be Trump voters who are understandably reluctant to tell strangers who call them on the phone how they intend to vote, but the goal was to rally Trump’s base and to demoralize Joe’s base by forcing him to repudiate the issues near and dear to the Bernie Bros heart. The “thrust” of Sasses examination was to force Comey to acknowledge that as director of the FBI he was responsible ex officio for the presentation of false evidence to the FISA court, and Comey of course acknowledged that he was responsible in his official capacity–which constututes more evasion and yet Sasse took bows and curtain calls for his fabulous performance, which was at best sophmoric. A first year law student could do that. Nice job Sasse, you . . . ass.
By contrast, Hawely was able to get past Comey’s evasive sleeves off your vest concession, and establish by judicious use of the IG report, that he is guilty far beyond his official act of signing the FISA warrant application, that he knew at the time he signed the application that it was politically motivated, and never bothered to find out who the sub source was. At the same time, he could not recall a document urging that the Clinton investigation be investigated, and as we also know, he arrogated the role of the justice department to himself, by refusing to find that Hillary did anything wrong because he could not find intent. But as any criminal lawyer wil attest, intent is seldom established through direct testimony, and is most often established through circumstantial evidence–like smashing computers, erasing cell phones. The conclusion here could hardly be more obvious: like Brennan, he believed that Hillary would win the election and he would be rewarded not for his service/disservice to the country, but to his partisan loyalty to her.

The only additional thing Hawley could have followed up on was this: When he asked made suggested the misleading of the FISA court was the first time in history, Mr. Higher Duty corrected him and said actually they were admonished about this before and one of their agents was banned from future appearances before the court for that reason. If Josh had thought that through for a second, which we hardly ever do in the heat of the moment, he could have used that information to repudiate Comey’s defense which was that his own signature of the FISA application was strictly a ministerial act, and imposed on him no “higher duty” to investigate the sub source before signing off on the application. He could have suggested that the precedent he just recited, coupled with the seriousness of the charge, made it imperative for him to investigate sua sponte—on his own motion before affixing his signature, and in failing to do so, and knowing that the dossier was prepared by a political opponent of the target, his intent was clearly to mislead the court as well. The other thing is he could have shoved the title of Comey’s biography A Higher Duty up his ass, by repeating that phrase in every question, and concluding by asking him this question: a higher duty than what? Your duty to support your boss? A duty to the oath you took to support and defend the constitution? A duty to some omnipresence in the sky which only you speak to? etc.
This is one more example of Trump’s genius. He is able to process information in the moment, and react to it immediately. The moment he got Bye Done to repudiate the Green New Deal, he pounced on it, so no one listening would fail to grasp its significance, and he pointed out—hey dumb shit, you just lost the left wing of your party who know now that you have been lying to them.
If you ever watched the movie The Court Marshall of Billy Mitchell starring Gary Cooper, than you may have noticed the withering examination conducted by Rod Steiger, where he pressed Mitchell for how he knew in 1929 that the Japanese would attack Pearl Harbor in 1941–and he suggests that perhaps he is conferring with some brooding omnipresence in the sky which is a figment of his floridly delusional imagination–or words to that effect. Remember what I said above: when Obama got off the stage his numbers went up. In Trump’s case, if he is not there every day, that fact alone may rally supporters and will give people time to reflect on his accomplishments, while big media marches into a trap. Simply put, a short absense may make the heart grow fonder, and surely concerns over his health may touch the hearts of some people on the fence, and as always, the dims will over play their hand, just like they are now doing with Judge Barrett. As you tell your juries, try at least to keep an open mind.

Thanks Outris. My wife feels the same way about me. Publicly I am a highly functioning, outgoing ,person as my profession requires the appearance of confidence and calm. I find myself telling my clients all the time to remain calm, relax, things will work out, etc., but as you know, a person’s public persona often is quite different than their private one. Early childhood trauma seemed to come out of my subconscious when I hit 40 and it’s been a struggle for about 18 years since.

President Trump is “fever-free” and “doing very well” as he battles COVID-19, his doctor told reporters Saturday.
“We are extremely happy with the progress the president has made” Trump’s physician, Navy Commander Dr. Sean Conley said outside the main entrance of Walter Reed Medical Center, surrounded by a team of 10 doctors.
The president completed his first dose of remdesivir therapy late Friday after he checked into the presidential suite at Walter Reed “out of an abundance of caution,” after he tested positive for the coronavirus, the White House said.
Remdesivir, an anti-viral therapy that is still undergoing clinical trials, has been used with success in severe coronavirus patients, but its value in treating mild cases is still being studied.
Conley said Trump is not receiving supplemental oxygen treatment.
Trump’s normally active Twitter presence was mute on Saturday morning.
“Going well, I think!” he tweeted late Friday from Walter Reed. “Thank you to all. LOVE!!!”
Earlier Friday, while still at the White House, the president was given a single dose of a polyclonal antibody cocktail — another experimental treatment that is thought to reduce the viral load in the early stages of COVID-19 illness.
“He completed the infusion without incident,” Conley wrote in a memo to the White House Press Office.
Trump was also taking zinc, vitamin D, the antacid famotidine, melatonin and a daily aspirin, Conley reported.

Vice President Mike Pence and his wife Karen both tested negative for coronavirus Saturday morning, The Hill reported. Pence has been working from his Naval Observatory home since Trump’s diagnosis.
Meanwhile, Trump was keeping up with his presidential duties, the White House said.
He signed two bills into law Saturday morning — both related to appointments to the Smithsonian Institution’s Board of Regents.

I disagree. I noticed at the Rose Garden announcement for ACB that people were NOT social distancing and many were not wearing masks. I assumed that they had all been tested.
The problem with using testing that way is that people are often most contagious just before the onset of a virus. Correct me if I’m wrong about that .

Wallace wants to pass the buck for the melt down in the debate to someone other than himself, but it it was his own bitter partisanship—the questions he chose, the failure to allow rebuttal, etc that forced President Trump to correct the record. Also, Trump was spot on when the told Wallace that he was having to debate two opponents. One unintended consequence of this debacle however, was Bye-Done showed his true colors, that he lacks the ability to restore dignity to the office, that he lies with impunity—to his own coalition. Rove says this does not matter because his coalition is guided by one thing only–their pathological hatred of Trump and by extension the country itself, whereas Bogino feels Biden’s repudiation of the Bernie Bros will have an impact at the polls.

I am still waiting for independent pier reviewed studies that show social distancing and masks are effective in stopping the chinavirus. Most likely these people were all intentionally exposed. Social distancing is based on surveillance targeting and masks are muzzles. Training for slavery.

I was in very close contact with someone with active Covid, in fact we used the same oral thermometer, me right after him, then another person I worked with on a small unit for extended time and had to quarantine twice
My Dr, who is very conservative, told me the stats in fact say that it is NOT easy to get, if one person has it they will infect 2 out of 100.
I’m not beyond saying there may be different variants of the virus, certainly seems that way.
Right now in the heart of Texas we are experiencing very few cases, but after this I don’t see Gov Abbott opening up the state more or getting rid of the mask mandate unfortunately.
It’s nothing I want, I have known people who have died and people who have gotten very ill.
