Update: Some observations –
(1) The election is now about the Supreme Court.
(2) The Obama Dimocrats wanted 2020 to be a referendum on President Trump but now that it is about the Supreme Court they suffer a strategic loss.
(3) Slow ‘n Sleepy Joe Biden will now have to name names. President Trump has put out a list of his potential nominees to the high court but all Slow ‘n Sleepy Joe has said is that he will nominate a black woman. “Name the black women Joe” will be a demand of the leftists in the streets now. Slow Joe will not want normal Americans to see the names of his black women nominees because these nuts will alienate white women suburban voters. Another strategic loss for Biden and Obama Dimocrats.
(4) The Supreme Court is now 5-3 with a Republican majority if we include Quisling John Roberts (which is a stretch). This majority will be helpful on all cases but especially on all the election law cases making their way up to the Supreme Court. This has Obama Dimocrats worried that all their vote by mail election theft might be thrown out by the Supreme Court. Another strategic loss for Obama Dimocrats.
(5) Ted Cruz reminds all that a full complement of justices will be required to avoid 4-4 decisions by the high court on decisive election cases to be decided once they get to the high court.
(6) Obama Dimocrats will have to attack President Trump’s nominee just like they attacked Justice Kavenaugh. The attacks, especially if the nominee is a woman, will be ugly and the American public will recoil from Obama Dimocrat Joe Biden. A tactical loss for Obama Dimocrats.
(7) This death massively galvanizes Trump voters. A strategic win for President Trump as even the NeverTrump creeps will find themselves exposed as the unprincipled haters they are to the Trump base.
(8) Republicans such as Lisa Murkowski who do not want to vote on the Supreme Court nominee will also be exposed as Trump haters. Grassley, Murkowski, will be primaried in their 2021 elections. Collins, Gardner, Tillis, and other Republican senators will either have to go full Trump or lose their senate seats. A strategic win for those who want the Republican Party to be transformed from the Bush creeps to a working class party.
(9) President Trump gains strategic and tactical victories as he now holds the trump cards.
(10) Leftists in Big Media, in the streets, and in the Obama Dimocrat Party are threatening to burn Washington down if a nominee is put forth and even worse if there is a vote scheduled on the nominee. A strategic and tactical win for normal Americans as the leftists will yet again be exposed for the totalitarian filth they are.

As if there was not enough excitement. Ruth Bader Ginsberg is dead at 87 of metastatic pancreatic cancer.
Obama Dimocrats will now approach penultimate suicidal madness.
Trump supporters will now become even more enthusiastic to vote for President Trump than ever, if that’s possible considering how high the enthusiasm is already.
For Ruth Bader Ginsberg the end came at a moment which can be called peaceful. RBG died knowing that President Trump is busy building peace in the Middle East. RGB died knowing the eternal capital of Israel is Jerusalem thanks to President Trump who moved the American embassy to Jerusalem and has persuaded other countries to move their embassies to Jerusalem as well.
For Ruth Bader Ginsberg the end came on Rosh Hashanah. She will not see the new year, nor face Yom Kippur – The Day of Atonement, while she lives.
President Trump is speaking at a rally in Minnesota. Thus far he has not been informed of the death of RBG. It will be very interesting if he is notified and says something.
New Supreme Court term begins October 5.
Supposedly
RBG requested that she not be replace until we have a “new” President
I’m sorry, but I don’t think she cared one bit that Trump has done so much for Israel
Gonz, the American leftists Jews do not care all that much about Israel as they helped anti-Israeli Obama win twice and are pouring $$$ into Biden’s campaign . From what I am listening to on Fox, there will be no support from Murkowski, Collins, Romney, as well as possibly Grassley and Graham. McConnelI apparently said there will be a vote. While I disagreed with RBG on almost every issue, may she rest in peace.
PDJT needs to get a new justice on the bench ASAP
whatever it takes – hard ball time
Graham will vote for Trump I think
Grassley is not stupid
I don’t think we have the votes with the usual suspect
Asshats
Cosmic Shift.
God loves Trump.
———————————–
Trump’s spontaneous reaction when he was informed as he left the rally stage heading to Air Force One was perfect: “She just died? Wow. I didn’t . . . You’re informing me of that. She was an amazing woman. What else can you say? Whether you agreed with her or not. She was an amazing woman and she led an amazing life. I’m actually saddened by this.”
Flags at WH are at half mast & formal statement followed.
Dems are calling to burn it down of Trump does his Constitutional duty to make a nomination to fill the vacancy –as if they haven’t already been doing that & as if just today they were loudly talking about challenging the results of the election (might be a good idea to have all 9 Justices on SCOTUS instead of 4-4 in that case –just saying).

I’m calling BS
This mans case for re-election is massive, peace in the ME, economy, deregulation, manufacturing coming home
On and on and on
——
“That’s in part because Trump has struggled to craft a coherent case for his reelection“
From Politico above.
“ With just over six weeks before the election, national polls show Trump lagging far behind Democratic nominee Joe Biden.”
Oh really?? Where did Politico get these polls!! Such bullshit. Even my employer, one of the Big Four global financial firms (Left leaning And Woke) published internal analysis that the race is tightening, (which means it’s even closer than they will admit).
Take a Xanax JB. The polls are not your friend.
Tucker’s reaction was right: the death of Ginzberg re shuffles the deck in terms of the election, to which I would add this:
When you are playing cards with a card shark like Trump, the more cards he has to play with, the better for him, and the worse for you if you are his opponent. And clearly, the vacancy on the court gives him additional cards to play, and he will play them well.
I think he should select an Hispanic, for two reasons. First, it will increase his support within that demographic, which is key to the election. Second, democrat attacks on that nominee, with the same or greater vitriol than we saw with Kavanagh they alienate Hispanics further.
What are the selection criteria? It should be someone of high moral character. Someone who is a strict constructionist. Someone with an impeccable record, including judicial decisions assuming it is a judge, or other publications which can be attacked. Gender is less important to me, but if there was a woman who fit those criteria that would be good.
If he selects an Hispanic, that will help Senators like Cory Gardner in Colorado, and Martha McSally in Arizona, and potentially Joni Ernst in Iowa (assuming they have large meat packing operations still in that state, which typically employ Hispanics)
Bottom line: whoever Trump selects MUST by someone those senators can support. No surprises please.
“All this election stuff and we signed an [executive order] on this or that — it doesn’t matter,” a White House official said. “This is the election.”
———
THAT is an over statement.
The economy , law and order, and the CO-Vid program are, and remain, the pivotal issues.
How I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb? Or, better yet, in the words of John Wayne in the movie El Dorado, when speaking about an opposing gun fighter, he said” the more emotional, hysterical, and/or insane he gets, the better I like it. The question then becomes a tactical one, how much gasoline should be thrown on the fire? At a minimum, this throws a monkey wrench into their plans to steal the election through mail balloting. And since they have neglected to create a big ground game in key battleground states, they are not in a position to capitalize, whereas, thanks to Rhonna McDaniel, we will.
Apros of that, and more, this just in from Red State.

Meltdown City: Dems Threaten to ‘Burn It Down’ After RBG News, One Drinks on Live TV After McConnell Statement
Posted at 1:00 am on September 19, 2020 by Sister Toldjah
The breaking news of the death of 87-year-old Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg less than 2 months before the presidential election has sent Democrats and their allies in the mainstream media into an absolute tailspin.
It’s panic time for them on a massive scale. The unthinkable has happened:
With Ginsburg’s passing, President Trump has another opportunity to nominate someone to the Supreme Court.
Even before Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden had a chance to react publicly to the news, and before Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell made crystal clear that “President Trump’s nominee will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate”, the left’s eruptions were off the charts cray cray.
Some threatened to either “shut down” the country or “burn the entire f*cking thing down.” Supposed “journalists” warned of riots. Others called for a “revolution.” Another said a Trump SCOTUS nomination needed to be stopped “at all costs.” McConnell’s address was shared on Twitter and a march commenced to his house:

Admin: this guy is a superb “appellate” lawyer, which is a whole different skill set from your garden variety trial lawyer. Also, he has a deep understanding of the political process, obvious inside connections and a well informed opinion on the key players, and what they are likely to do in various situations. Here he addresses the question of where will Mitch get the 50 votes he needs: https://www.redstate.com/shipwreckedcrew/2020/09/18/mcconnells-majority/
Beyond that there is the story of the boy who cried wolf. That is all the democrats ever do these days–cry wolf. When everything is a crisis nothing is a crisis, and the public tunes out very voices which are forever shrill.
How many times can you beat the drum of Roe vs Wade? And how many times must Trump’s nominee tell the hyperventillating dims in the Senate that he or she cannot comment on a case which will come before the court?
Question: Do voters vote for people who threaten to burn down their cities?
Answer: Not since the glory days of Atila The Hun.
Wbboei
I couldn’t disagree with you more. Replacing rbg with a woman on the court is absolutely necessary. Women are more than half the population and deserve the representation.
I’m so sick and tired of the identity politics crap and there’s already Soto mayor.
One of the women on Trumps short list?
Joan Larsen
A former law clerk for Justice Antonin Scalia, Larsen spent many years of her career as a professor University of Michigan School of Law.
She served in the George W. Bush administration in the US Department of Justice Office of Legal Counsel.
Larsen, 51, was appointed to the Michigan Supreme Court in 2015 before put up by Trump for the US Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit in 2017.
She graduated first in her class from Northwestern University School of Law.
Here is the pitch to wavering Republican Senators:
You are aware, are you not, that the democrats have a plan in place to contest the election, through mail balloting and fraud?
The end result for the country–and for your re election, will be chaos, unless we have a full Supreme Court in place to resolve the matter,
Otherwise, the country will have a constitutional crisis on its hands, and no means to resolve it.
If you are in a tight race, you will lose your seat due to this chaos, unless we have a functional supreme court to resolve it.
Therefore, any concerns you might have about voting to confirm are as nothing compared to what you will experience if you fail to confirm.
In different times, where a peaceful transition of power could be expected a refusal to confirm a candidate on the eve of an election might be defensible.
But here it is not.
The post election chaos planned by the dims threatens your survival and changes everything.
The Merril Garland exception does not apply because in that case the electorate voted for a republican senate and a democrat president, whereas here both the senate and the president are from the same party, were elected by voters, were duly elected and are obliged to move forward confirm the nominee, period.

Ted Cruz Explains Perfectly Why RBG’s Seat Must Be Filled Before the Election
BY MATT MARGOLIS SEP 18, 2020 10:47 PM EST
AP Photo/Andrew Harnik
Republican Senator Ted Cruz says President Donald Trump needs to nominate a successor Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg next week, and that the Senate should confirm that choice or the country risks a constitutional crisis.
“I believe that the president should, next week, nominate a successor to the court. I think it is critical that the Senate takes up and confirms that successor before Election Day,” Senator Cruz told Sean Hannity on Fox News.
“Democrats and Joe Biden have made clear they intend to challenge this election. They intend to fight the legitimacy of the election. As you you know Hillary Clinton has told Joe Biden ‘under no circumstances should you concede, you should challenge this election.’ and we cannot have election day come and go with a 4-4 court.”
Cruz continued, “A 4-4 court that is equally divided cannot decide anything. And I think we risk a constitutional crisis if we do not have a nine-justice Supreme Court, particularly when there is such a risk of … a contested election.”
Cruz then shared his experience litigating Bush vs. Gore case and how the country didn’t know for 37 days who the president-elect was. “I think we have the responsibility to do our job. The president should nominate a principled constitutionalist with a proven record and the Senate … should do our job and protect the country from the constitutional crisis that could result otherwise.”
Given that argument, the position taken by Murkowski, which manifests the stupidity and cowardice which we have come to expect from someone who flunked the Oregon Bar three times, and got gifted the job by her father and is kept in office by Alaska Native Corporations and Big Oil, becomes indefensible and treasonous. AGAIN, the plan by the democrats to overwhelm the constitutional system with fraudulent mail ballots and to hire 500 lawyers to contest the election CHANGES EVERYTHING. The problem with her is she reacts without thinking.
They would be writing their own death warrant

WOW! I think the world of her, and frankly, hoped she would get the Kavanaugh nomination. This will bring the Roe vs Wade issue front and center. She will appeal to many women because unlike other potential nominees she has children. Roe vs Wade has devolved far beyond what Lewis Powell ever contemplated, and now there is a cottage industry named Planned Parenthood who runs a charnel house, sells fetus parts for a fortune, and is subsidized by taxpayers. They are also a major contributor to the democrat party.

You can disagree with the McConnell rule, which was previously known as the Biden rule, but you should describe it accurately. It’s no confirmations in a presidential election year *when senate and presidency are held by different parties.* Doesn’t apply this year.

The Supreme Court is not a Monarchy, This is not ‘her seat’ on the Court. It’s The People’s court. We The People will choose the next person to sit on the court. 😀
I sent this letter to my Senator this morning, partly in response to the analysis provided by Shipwreck Crew at Red State, below the line:
Good morning Senator Tillis:
You are aware, are you not, that the democrats have a plan in place to contest the election, through mail balloting and fraud?
The end result for the country–and for your re election, will be chaos, unless we have a full Supreme Court in place to resolve the matter,
Otherwise, the country will have a constitutional crisis on its hands, and no mechanism to resolve it.
You are in a tight race, but I believe you will win.
Nevertheless, your victory will be contested by the other side, and we need to have a full supreme court in place to ensure that your seat is not stolen.
Therefore, any reservations you might have about voting to confirm now are as nothing compared to what you are likely to encounter if you fail to confirm the nominee President Trump puts forward.
In different times, where a peaceful transition of power could be expected a refusal to confirm a candidate on the eve of an election might be defensible.
But here it is not.
The post election chaos planned by the dims threatens the republic, constitutional government, and your survival.
Simply put, it changes everything.
Therefore, as a constituent and supporter, I respectfully request that you confirm President Trump’s nominee, for the sake of the country, the party and your own future.
God Speed Senator.
———–
The one wild-card in this group is Thom Tillis. He’s in a tight race for re-election, and voting to confirm a nominee would likely energize Democrat voters for his opponent. But not voting to confirm would not likely help him with GOP voters. North Carolina is an odd state at the Senate level, having elected an equal number of Democrat and GOP Senators over the past 50 years. Ultimately, I think Tillis does what he needs to do to keep his base energized, and votes to confirm.
Educating Biden. lol

May RBG rest in peace.
However, I believe she was close to the Clintons and very much wanted Hillary to chose her successor. She made a gross miscalculation when she she didn’t retire during Obama’s time as POTUS, probably disliking him as much as the Clinton did. When Hillary lost to Trump she was forced to try to hang on till the next election. She made her disdain for Trump known publicly, something which will forever tarnish her term. Alas, she was a very sick woman and despite her heroic efforts could not stay alive till the next term.
The plot thickens. On the one hand, Lindsey Graham, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee has retracted his prior promise to never entertain a supreme court nomination in an election year, which was based on a misreading of the McConnell rule, but perfectly consistent with Lindseys proclivity to say different things to different audiences, but fortunately he is using the Cavanaugh debacle as a means to slip this self imposed noose. He could have just as easily used the justification I sent to Tillis, since he has well is in a surprisingly tight race. But either way is fine. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, Shipwreck crew raises the possibility that Trump may not want a vote before the election, explanation to follow. He is a negotiator, I know, but praytell what justification could there possibly be for giving up leverage when we know chaos is coming? He certainly has the right to proceed and even if the other side offered him a concession, how could he possibly trust them?? The only conceivable reason to wait would be if he does not have the votes in the senate, does not want his party to lose the senate by moving forward before the election, and then do it immediately afterwards. I will wait to hear what shipwreck sees, that I do not see here.

Ginzberg was a judicial activist, a social engineer and someone who, by her own admission, preferred the South African Constitution to the one she took an oath to uphold. I found that to be highly problematic. Her only saving grace was she was friends with Scalia.
Biden is writing a book. It is called Gullible’s Travels–Hayman for short. As books go, it is bare as a goat’s ass, long as a whores dream, still it is number 1 on NYT, because secretly they have been buying up all the copies. It begins the day he left his basement. Everything before that, the bribes, the pay to play, an unbroken string of bad decisions on foreign policy, his love of segregationists, have been wiped clean, bleach bitten and pounded with a hammer. He is a living example of immaculate conception gone wrong.
lol yep

Force this weakling to hold hearings immediately. Don’t believe what he says, watch what he does. He is up for reelection and in danger so he better do as President Trump says.
https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/09/19/lindsey-graham-says-he-backs-trump-in-any-effort-to-move-forward-on-rbg-vacancy/
a few things:
1 What standing do the Dems have re: Supreme Court? …they are openly threatening to (a) PACK THE COURT & they are openly promising to (b) Get rid of the Filibuster
2 As stated, Dems as soon as RBG dies last night, start threatening to “burn the whole thing down”
What are the referring to?
Burn down the Supreme Court?
Burn down Capitol Hill?
Burn down the White House?
Why should Americans support these fanatics & allow them to threaten the Constitutional Right given to the President & the Senate to fill the Supreme Court…something very ironic about threatening the SC…ESPECIALLY
3 ESPECIALLY with all the election madness that will inevitably be sent up to the Supreme Court for final decisions
4 Republicans cannot depend on anything that Roberts will do; right now I would actually say it is
4:4 (somebody, somewhere has something really strong on Roberts, after the fiasco on Fox this week when Newt Gingrich was on Outnumbered & he was first silenced by Melissa Francis, then Marie Harf & Harris Fauklner froze silent & then said “Let’s move on” canceling out Newt…all because Newt brought up George Soros paying for Prosecutors that are not Prosecuting…
Soros has his hands all over Fox News these days, maybe its thru Paul Ryan…but it is definitely there…
5 In answer to the question re any Latinas that could be nominated I believe PDT has just added Barbara Lagoa to his list
Barbara Lagoa is an American lawyer and a United States Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Prior to becoming a federal judge, she was the first Hispanic woman to be appointed as a Justice on the Supreme Court of Florida. Wikipedia
Born: November 2, 1967 (age 52 years), Miami, FL
Education: Columbia University, Florida International University, Columbia Law School
5 LATEST BUZZ says that Amy Coney Barrett, Barbara Lagoa & Amul Thapar are the top 3 Choices
6 FINALLY And cannot forget to mention Lindsay…lately the meek Lindsay with the big threats has been heard to actually say he would find a way to work with Biden…while at the same time continually to tell us to “Stay Tuned” for his upcoming hearings (so weak they are almost invisible)
IMO, his ‘hearings’ have been a big bust, he has this big build up but when, for example he got
Sally Yates & Rosenstein in his clutches, Lindsay FOLDED, he reassured them that he
BELIEVED THEM & let them off the hook…I expect the same when he gets Comey…in behind closed doors hearing
I will say that if Lindsay DARES NOT WORK with PDT on PDT’s choice for SC & to be introduced by Lindsay as Head of Judiciary…then Lindsay can kiss his Senate seat goodbye…because conservatives will PUNISH HIM …that will be a step too far…to try to prevent a Conservative candidate for the SC…it will be the end of Lindsay Graham in the Senate
my two cents
4:4 (somebody, somewhere has something really strong on Roberts, after the fiasco on Fox this week when Newt Gingrich was on Outnumbered & he was first silenced by Melissa Francis, then Marie Harf & Harris Fauklner froze silent & then said “Let’s move on” canceling out Newt…all because Newt brought up George Soros paying for Prosecutors that are not Prosecuting…

THERE IS ONLY ONE PLACE THAT COULD HAVE COME FROM: THE MURDOCK BOYS.
——–
Soros has his hands all over Fox News these days, maybe its thru Paul Ryan…but it is definitely there…
———
WHEN I WROTE THE PAPER ON SOROS I WAS TOLD THAT HE CONTROLS THE DEMOCRAT PARTY, AND THE WAY HE ACQUIRED THAT CONTROL WAS BY LETTING THAT LATE GREAT BUFFOON JOHN MCCAIN (AND RUSS FEINGOLD) SUBMIT A BILL BANNING SOFT MONEY (WHICH CUT OFF THE ABILITY OF UNIONS TO FUND THE DNC DIRECTLY) AND THEN GOT AN AMENDMENT PASSED WHICH ALLOWED UNLIMITED AMOUNTS OF MONEY TO BE SENT IN BY BILLIONAIRES LIKE HIM TO 501 (C)-3S. AT THAT TIME, SOROS STATED THAT HE COULD NOT GET THE PUBLIC TO VOTE FOR THE GLOBALIST AGENDA HE WANTED BECAUSE IT WAS NOT IN THEIR INTEREST. THEREFORE HE HAD TO PUT UP CANDIDATES WHO WOULD BETRAY THEIR CONSTITUENTS AND WORK FOR THEIR DONORS LIKE HIM. HE STARTED THE SECRETARY OF STATE PROJECT ABOUT THAT TIME, AND THE DA PROJECT LATER. HE IS BEHIND THE VIOLENCE IN THE STREETS, WHICH MIRRORS THE COLORS REVOLUTIONS HE ENGINEERED , THE BREZNESKI CREW IN THE CIA, THE RAND INSTITUTE LAUCHED IN THE UKRAINE (THE ORANGE REVOLUTION), GEORGIA (THE ROSE REVOLUTION), BUT FAILED IN LEBANON (THE CEDARS REVOLUTION) AND FAILED AGAIN IN IRAN (THE GREEN REVOLUTION) WHEN IT WAS OVER HE TOLD A REPORTER THE OLD SOVIET EMPIRE IS NOW THE SOROS EMPIRE. HE APPLIED THOSE SAME METHODS TO GET OBAMA ELECTED, AND INCORPORATED THEM INTO A DOCUMENT CALLED THE DEAN PLAN WHICH EMPHASIZED FLASH MOBS, MEDIA ECHO CHAMBERS, CHARISMATIC LEADERS, THREE WORD CHANTS, ATTACKING POLICE, ETC. HE ALSO HAS DE FACTO CONTROL OVER PEOPLE IN MAIN STREAM MEDIA MANY OF WHOM SIT ON HIS BOARDS. THE CURRENT PROJECT, ENGINEERED BY A GEORGETOWN LAW PROFESSOR NAMED ROSA BROOKS WHO WORKS FOR HIM IN HIS OPEN SOCIETY HAS PROMISED THAT IF BIDEN DOES NOT WIN THE ELECTION WILL BE SETTLED IN THE STREET THROUGH VIOLENT METHODS THAT SHE SUPPORTS. IT IS ALSO SUPPORTED BY AN ENTITY WHICH IS PART OF THE CHINA REGIME AND WAS STARTED IN SAN FANCISCO DURING THE 1970S. YEA, THERE IS A LOT TO UNPACK HERE. I AM SURE TRUMP HAS THIS HISTORY.
I would love to see PDT nominate an Hispanic woman and then watch the Democrats commit political suicide ripping her to shreds.
The result of failing to fill the USSC position before the election is obvious.
Was Ruth’s death at this time a random event?
I don’t think I have the stomach to deal with this for the next few months…
I wrote that paper 11 years ago, posted the 10 chapters here and elsewhere. It was the Cassandra problem–able to see the future, unable to get anyone to believe me. George Soros, who collected the final effects of Jews sent to death camps in WWII Hungary, is the last living Nazi, and when asked by Steve Croft in a 60 minute interview how it felt to him as a fellow Jew to be doing that, he responded it was the most exciting time in my life, and when Croft pressed him further he said it was no different than markets–I was the winner, those people were the losers. He should have met his fate at the end of a hangman’s noose in 1945, but he road the rails to London, entered the London School of Economics, was sent to the US in 1957 to work in a Rothschilde Bank, became the largest currency trader in the world, crashed the British pound in 1980, bragged that he made a billion dollars offd that deal. Soros is a puss pocket of evil and no one is safe while he is breathing.
Sally Yates & Rosenstein in his clutches, Lindsay FOLDED, he reassured them that he
BELIEVED THEM & let them off the hook…I expect the same when he gets Comey…in behind closed doors hearing
——-
He is a pathetic little ghoul.
Mr. over promise and under deliver/
Mr. I will get to the bottom of this–STAY TUNED!
Mr. watch me run out the clock.
Lou Dobbs hates Lindsey’s guts.
I wonder why?
We threw a fundraiser for him while he was still in the House.
I need to get the money back–with interest.
Well you have that guy from Fox News who covers the inner workings on Capital Hill saying it’s unlikely as Collins and the others are against voting until the Presidential election is over and whoever is elected the President should get the choice. The GOP is a pathetic party and I know why I hated them all these years. Dems are pure evil but they stick together and get their way.
We shall see
These Republican senators need Trump as much as they need to placate their “moderates”
If they screw Trump, he will
Make.Them.Pay….
If the Repub Senators turn against PDT when he is trying to nominate a Conservative Woman to the Supreme Court while the Supreme Court has had THREE LIBERAL WOMEN on the courts for the past few decades. they are going to be punished by Repub voters…why would they bother voting for them if they cannot support a CONSERVATIVE WOMAN for the SC? it is suicide, Dems are not going to vote for them, they will be slapping their voters in the face…
and yes Alcina, if he picks Latina Barbara Lagoa & repubs ruin her chances there is going to be hell to pay…
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2020/09/19/supreme-court-latina-judge-barbara-lagoa-eyed-possible-nominee/5840189002/
Susan Collins may not pull it off this time, especially if she votes against her voters
Collins sounds like she is wavering either way but has not made up her mind…she needs to be pressured…phone calls, tweets, etc
bottom line, she needs to understand that she CANNOT stand in the way of a common sense CONSERVATIVE WOMAN having the opportunity to go on the Supreme Court since 3 LIBERAL WOMEN have been on SC for decades…She needs to understand the ramifications of what she would be doing to try to be open minded towards Dems
Especially since Dems are ready to pack the court & get rid of the fillibuster
Collins sounds like she is wavering either way but has not made up her mind…she needs to be pressured…phone calls, tweets, etc
—–
Yes. That is accurate. See shipwreck crew’s analysis posted above.
When dims are in a strong position what do they do? They go full beast mode, reward their friend, punish their enemies and fuck their constituents like a house cat. That is what they do.
When dims are in a weak position what do they do? They appeal to our better angels and ask for equity. Under the ethical doctrine of unclean hands, he who seeks equity must do equity.
In a court of equity, they have no standing.

Well you have that guy from Fox News who covers the inner workings on Capital Hill saying it’s unlikely as Collins and the others are against voting until the Presidential election is over and whoever is elected the President should get the choice.

You mean Chad Pergam . . .
Ask him what time it is, and he will tell you how to build a watch
Everything is complicated and nothing good will happen, according to him.
He gets a hard on explaining all the ins and outs of congress
And he deals in fixed targets, when everything is moving.
He is a bullshit artist, and a gossip monger.
First him, then the little sparrow Shannon Breen.
Yapping a mile a minute, telling us what an iconic figure Ginzberg was.
Suddenly, I feel the urge to puke.
Wbboei, PDT is in the driver’s seat and holds the trump cards. For example, what would senators do if it is Coney Barrett or this one (which would make Alcina smile) who is Latina from FLA:

Everyone needs to watch the current Mark Levin Show with Stanley Kurtz as his guest…
the whole show is about the Obama & now Biden & Corey Booker assault on our suburbs
it is the AFFH plan run thru the Federal Govt in HUD
It is unbelievable what they will attempt to do & evidently they have already tried it in Westchester, NY
It is a complete takeover by the Federal Govt to rezone & completely control all local & state govts particularly when it comes to how they plan to reshape our suburbs
first they will demand to know everything…EVERYTHING…that goes on in the suburb, who lives there, how much do they earn, single homes, demographic diversity, schools, parks, etc
then HUD, Federal Govt & Bureaucrats will decide what single family homes will be zoned out & then demand that High Density Low Income Housing be built
It goes on & on…it is a complete assault on private property rights, Individual liberty & freedom, etc…it is Dems favorite “Eminent Domain” on “turbo charged” steroids
It is straight out of a Communist playbook
This is being hidden by Biden camp because they know the suburban voters will not accept this…IF….once Kamala takes over with AOC & the Squad & BLM ORG our country will become unrecognizable & no longer the home of the free
This is getting very little play with only a little more than a month left…
We need to blast this everywhere
here is some info, the Mark Levin show is probably on you tube

Agreed.
Your 10 point intro says it all.
There is a saying that goes like this:
To a man with only a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.
That said, everything I see going on today relates back to him, and those like him.
Capitalists run the gambit–from drug dealers to the head of the NBA, to Jamie Diamon, to the Chairman of Microsoft.
Their goal is to produce their goods and services at the lowest cost, and sell them into the most lucrative market.
When Soros declares that the US is kaput as the engine of global growth and the future belongs to China, that explains much of what is going on today.
Trump is a nationalist. Nationalism stands in the way of their business model, because it impedes their ability to engage those markets. National borders, citizenship, etc, impede their ability to do so.
That is why the multi national corporations who own big media turn the dogs of war loose on him every chance they get, put forward clowns who pretend to be journalists, etc. even if it destroys those media companies i the process.
All these media companies see is a billion Chinese consumers. And everything they do devolves to that end.
This is why Obama, a Soros operative, committed this country to a program of managed decline, endless apologies, and deference to global institutions.
And because controls the democrat party, as noted above, it has become a party of anarchists, hedge fund billionaires, and useful idiots, as Lenin defined that term.
The answer to this problem lies in selecting political leaders who cannot be bought, and will fight against thes excesses of capitalism–we hear so much about socialism, but what these business leaders really want is socialism for thee, and state capitalism for me. This is why Yang parroted the solution proposed by Silicon Valley which is guaranteed income, and complete economic dependency on the state. Not for nothing did Obama lament out loud that he wished he had a system like the one in China where he could direct everything and did not have to deal with divided government, separation of powers, federalism, the constitution, and individual liberty. They are committed to a program of rewarding your friends and punishing your enemies, which the little giggling Betty Boop Harris, learned from Willie Brown on those rare occasions when she was not giving him blow jobs.
I will give Harris this much: she is a bubbly reincarnation of Lady MacBeth.
The question is will the straight laced, god fearing, pillar of moral rectitude, Pence, have the cajones to take her on–the way Tulsi did?
That is why I favored four debates, one of which would feature Trump debating her. Harris is a back shooter, and could not face him on the same stage.
Which gets back to my original question about Pence.
This is why President Trump is most likely to select Barrett. He said previously that he did not select her for the Kennedy vacancy because he was saving her for the Ginzberg vacancy. Also note that this will draw the Orwellian Lady MacBeth into the foray because she sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee, and given her proclivities, it is not unlikely that she will do what no advocate should ever do if he wants to persuade the jury, and not let his emotional level exceed that of the jury. I think Barrett can handle her. Hopefully, Pence will as well. Harris is a living example of everything George Orwell warned us about in his classic book 1984.
———-
Since Trump said he will choose a woman, that narrows down the names on his list of potential nominees. Twelve of the 44 names on Trump’s list are women. Of those twelve, 7th Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Amy Coney Barrett is considered the frontrunner.
When Trump was deliberating which nominee to choose when replacing Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, the president told confidants he had big plans for Barrett. “I’m saving her for Ginsburg,” he said, three sources told Axios’ Jonathan Swan last March.
Barrett would be an excellent choice. Not only is she a stellar judge and a pro-life Roman Catholic, but Barrett performed well under fire during her confirmation hearing in 2017. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) notoriously said, “The dogma lives loudly within you,” suggesting something of a religious test for a federal judgeship.
Democrats have only gotten worse in their readiness to launch inquisitions into the faith of the conservative Christians whom Trump has nominated to federal offices. Many have cited the far-left smear factory the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) to demonize nominees who have spoken at events with Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), an accomplished conservative Christian law firm that the SPLC unfairly demonizes as a “hate group.”
Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), Democratic nominee Joe Biden’s running mate and a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has a history of attacking conservative Christians for their faith and she will likely vociferously attack Barrett in the confirmation hearings.

Bill Jacobsen makes a compelling case for filling the Ginzberg vacancy before the election. According to a poll taken in the last few days two thirds of the respondents want that to happen, rather than wait until afterwards. One of the things that caught my eye was his observation that filling the position now would provide an insurance policy against John Roberts, thus echoing the concerns most people have about him.
How does it feel to be John Roberts, despised by the party who appointed him as a Benedict Arnold? He can tell himself that a judge must have broad shoulders, must exercise independent judgment based on his conscience and not be swayed by something as ephemeral as public opinion.
If that is his defense, then pray tell how does it square with his injudicious behavior on the Obama care case where after NYT squeezed his balls, he was seen by law clerks hyperventillating, running up and down the corridor, had to be restrained by Justice Kennedy, and ultimately decided it was a tax after Obama;s solicitor general conceded in court that it was not.
Judicial independence should be made of sterner stuff, and the more that can be done to marginalize him, the better for the republic.
————————————–
Some thoughts on filling the Supreme Court vacancy before Election Day, in no particular order:
1. It’s bigger than Trump and this election. Filling this seat quickly is an exercise of power while we have it. It’s impossible to know what will be after November 3, but we know what is now. And what it is now is a chance to lawfully and constitutionally alter the balance of the Supreme Court for years, maybe decades, to come. This chance may never present itself again, certainly not if Trump loses and/or Republicans lose the Senate.
2. Filling the vacancy now is protection against … John Roberts. From Obamacare to the recent religious liberty lockdown cases, the Chief Justice has shown himself to be unreliable and subject to pressure campaigns. Particularly when the 2020 election cases (which there will be) make their way to the Supreme Court, a rogue Roberts could result in a 4-4 deadlock, which means the appeals court decision stands. A 6-3 Supreme Court nullifies Rogue Roberts.
3. Republicans and Trump voters want Republicans and Trump to fight. The best way to demoralize Republican and Trump voters is to not fight for this. Given the structural electoral college advantage Democrats have with a lock on several of the largest states, Trump needs to motivate his voters in several swing states he barely won in 2016.
4. Trump has indicated he likely will pick a woman. There are many qualified conservative female judges to choose from. While I don’t like identity politics, it’s probably a smart move to pick a woman if you want a quick process. It also means Trump should choose someone who is well-known and has a track record — less likely to be a surprise skeleton in the closet.
5. There is hypocrisy to go around to all sides. You can find statements on both sides that contradict their current position. There are many nominations that went slower or faster. So there is no pure and driven snow. If the Democrats were in the position Republicans are in now, they would ram through an RBG-clone with media cheerleading and would throw a DC Dance Party (aka riot for the fun of it) with no masks or social distancing.
6. The impact on the November 3 election is impossible to predict. I could make an argument either way. My gut tells me that the additional dose of frenzy helps Trump more because the Supreme Court is not about personalities of the Justices, it’s about a more fundamental conception of the country.
7. Be prepared to be stabbed in the back by a handful of Republican Senators. We can afford to lose three of them. I’m not sure we can hold the line at that. However precarious the headcount may be now, it would be worse in a lame duck administration.
8. Someone get through to Susan Collins that if she votes against this, she is done, Republicans will not show up for her. If she votes for this, she may or may not be done, it’s a toss up. Her only chance of reelection is fighting to fill the seat, or at least not getting in the way.
10. Democrats treated Brett Kavanaugh worse than dirt. Although he made it through, it’s an open wound that has not healed. I don’t think Democrats or the media understand the impact the debasement of Kavanaugh had. If they could do it to him, they could do it to anyone. And they are, through cancel culture. Don’t get mad, get even. Getting even is a fast confirmation before Election Day.
11. Go ahead and riot, make our day. Riots are working so well for Democrats even Biden and Pelosi had to come out against them eventually. Now Democrats are threatening more. Go ahead. Call their bluff.
12. Chuck Schumer and other Democrats are threatening that “nothing is off the table” if Democrats take control of the Senate, such as eliminating the legislative filibuster. Sorry Chuckie, we don’t negotiate with hostage takers or extortionists.

Trump will nominate Amy Coney Barrett.
She’s sharper and more photogenic than Lagoa.
She will also energize the conservative base like nobody’s business.
She will be confirmed, just barely. The usual suspects (Collins, Murkowski, and Romney) will vote no, or abstain. Pence will cast the deciding vote.
Since Barrett is a woman, the Dims won’t be able to mount a #MeToo hoax.
They’ll probably play the “religious nut” angle, but it’s hard to see that going anywhere.
Those who think there “isn’t enough time” to get this done before November 3rd are clueless.
We could get it done tomorrow. Just skip all the bullshit hearings and take a vote. We already know the result.

Admin:
I have been waiting for Shipwreck Crew at Red State to provide his reasoning on why Trump MAY wait until after the election to vote on the nominee for the Ginzberg vacancy. Hearing nothing, let me indulge in some speculation on why that could be a wise course, despite what most Republican pundits are saying. The goal, broadly defined would be to get the nominee on the court before January 20 and to potentially save the senate.
If he nominates the candidate this week, as he has indicated he will, then McConnell MUST conduct the hearings as soon as possible, but most assuredly BEFORE the election. The reason for that is the voters will see just how mean spirited and mentally deranged the democrats are, and they may also get insight on what a sack of shit Harris, of the Harris Biden ticket is.
If he waits until after the election to conduct the vote, the, Senators who are in tough races hold their vote until after the election so it cannot be used by their opponent. He could extract an IOU from those senators, if they do lose, to support the nominee when they do vote. That might help him save the senate.
However, the lynch pin of this strategy is that come hell or high water, and/or rioting and a breakdown of civil order which the democrats have promised, the floor vote must be taken
before the congressional term ends..
If, as I suspect, Trump will be ahead on election night, or a day or two later, then the wind will be at our back. It will take time for the voter fraud plan of the dims to menastasize, and by then we will have that crucial fifth vote secure on the Supreme Court, so they can adjudicate the mess the dims have planned, and fight their effort to move the matter into the House.

The Omaha Man Who Shot a BLM Attacker in a Videotaped Open-and-Shut Case of Self-Defense Was Indicted to Appease the Mob.
That Man Has Now Committed Suicide.
—Ace
BLM will attack you, and unless you allow yourself to be murdered or to have your head bashed in and left with brain damage, the agents of the state will then act as BLM’s enforcement officers and imprison you for defying the illegal demands of BLM.
It’s now legal to resist a police officer but it’s illegal to resist a BLM rioter and street thug?
Had enough yet?
Jake Gardner — awaiting arrest after a grand jury in Omaha indicted him last week — shot himself outside a medical clinic in suburban Portland, Oregon, two law enforcement officials told The World-Herald. Police in Hillsboro, Oregon, found the 38-year-old former Marine dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound about 12:20 p.m.
Gardner’s attorneys, Stu Dornan and Tom Monaghan, said Gardner shot himself on the day he had said he would surrender in connection with manslaughter and three other felony charges stemming from the May 30 confrontation that led to the death of 22-year-old James Scurlock.
Now, both men are dead. By the same hand.
Sunday, Dornan and Monaghan blamed Gardner’s apparent suicide on a cocktail of behavioral health problems stemming from head trauma he experienced during military service; the belief that people were out to kill him; and an “incessant rush to judgment” by social media jockeys.
Monaghan alleged that after Gardner shot and killed Scurlock, people sent Gardner death threats on social media and by text to Gardner’s personal cellphone, though Monaghan later acknowledged that he didn’t think the threats were credible enough to report to law enforcement.
Dornan said Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine — who defeated Dornan in 2006 to become county attorney — had made the right call in ruling Gardner’s actions justified. Gardner had claimed that Scurlock had him in a chokehold and wouldn’t let go, despite Gardner’s repeated pleas to “get off me.” At the end of the 18-second struggle, Gardner switched the gun to his left hand and fired over his shoulder, killing Scurlock.
Grand jurors, under the guidance of a special prosecutor, ruled out self-defense as a justification.
Bottom line, Dornan and Monaghan said, Gardner had lost his bars (a landlord ended his lease after the shooting), his home, his livelihood. And he was about to lose his freedom. Add in behavioral health concerns, Dornan said, and suicide was not a surprise, even though his attorneys fully expected him to turn himself in Sunday night. Monaghan said Gardner did not leave a suicide note.
The special prosecutor must be sued for wrongful death.
I retract anything I said before about sovereign immunity. This prosecutor straight-up killed someone on behalf of his BLM allies.
I know he could have gotten great legal representation and we as a whole would have funded him
He must have been so depressed, they took everything away from him, everything
WE MUST NOT LET THIS CONTINUE

Actually Matthew, it is quite true. Only she did not tell that to her grand daughter, she told it to her best friend, i.e. her dog, who then took a shit, and the scatologists of big media aka BM , Ignatius, Friedman, Step and Fetch it, inter alia sifted through the entrails and discovered this and so as not to disclose their cia based sources and methods attributed it to the grand daughter the only innocent party in this charade. Therefore, you might say the grand daughter was framed, and big media is good at that. But everytime they try to frame the president, it blows up in their faces. How do you deal with a quarry that refuses to be trapped, but who every time ends up trapping you. That is the question they must be asking themselves.
If you don’t like that, here is something you may like from Bronchie at Red State:
There will be no boundaries, and though they’ll have trouble accusing Barrett of being a gang rapist (they’ll try I’m sure), they think they’ve got a winning narrative in accusing her of being a crazed, religious fundamentalist. That will be the primary line of attack going forward. You can expect lots of grandstanding and litmus tests to be applied by Democrats if Barrett does make it to a hearing. Of course, these are the same people who scream bloody murder if a Republican attempts to apply any litmus test to the sacred religion that is Roe v. Wade.
But that’s exactly why Republicans should stop caring what these people think. I hope any nominee is asked directly about abortion in their hearing. I have no qualms with seeing the left squirm at this point. They aren’t in control here and if the GOP stays strong, there’s no attack that can stop this seat from being filled.

While the US and Most of Europe Locked Down and Destroyed Their Economies, Sweden Stayed Open — and Now Has Herd-Immunity and Only Fourteen People in ICU for Covid
—Ace
Trust your Elites.
Worship them, even.
Pray to your New Gods of Incompetence and Twitter Snark.
In the global battle against the pandemic, few countries drew as much scrutiny and frequent criticism as Sweden during the early days. While the United States and most of Europe shut down their economies and put everyone on lockdown, the Swedes largely went about their business with no mandates for the wearing of masks or prohibitions on public gatherings. Sweden initially experienced a surge of novel coronavirus cases as compared to its neighbors. And then it felt like we stopped hearing about them quite so much. So what’s been going on?
As this report from the Associated Press indicates, what?s been going on has largely been… not much, at least in terms of the virus. Sweden only made slight modifications to its policies after the initial surge, but largely stuck with the herd immunity strategy. And now, just as much of Europe is experiencing a second surge in cases, Sweden has some of the lowest numbers in all of Europe. So did their herd immunity strategy actually work?
..
Among Sweden’s population of ten million, they currently have a total of 14 people in ICU beds fighting COVID. In the past two weeks, they have reported 30.3 new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people. By comparison, Spain is at 292.2 and France reports 172.1. That’s a rather startling difference.
…
This should leave us to wonder if that wasn?t the ideal solution from the beginning. If we had locked down the nursing homes and provided relief to everyone over the age of 55 so they could stay home, along with anyone with a doctor’s note saying they had underlying respiratory or immune system issues, could we have just left the rest of the economy running?
Meanwhile, former (attempted) humor magazine Cracked is now declaring that South Park shouldn’t do an episode on covid, because there’s just no place for comedy In These Trying Times.

Hard to see it happening by mid-October. Late October seems more likely to me.
One could argue that many who vote early will have made up their minds a long time ago, and will not be swayed by the confirmation drama.
As well, confirming the nominee in late October allows the voters to witness the Dems go absolutely berserk just before election day.
That image will be fresh in their minds as they enter the polling booths on November 3rd.

Welcome back Canadian.
The beautification and canonization of St. Ginzberg is virtually complete. The PSYCHO mainstream media now has its Mrs. Bates and her alleged last wish that Trump be prevented from exercising his rights and obligations as president powers under Article II, which if it is true, proves that she was not quite the legal giant she was cracked up to be. .

Another excellent option.
Amy Coney Barett would be my first choice.
I would trust Trump’s choice more than my own.
United States President Donald Trump delivers pre-recorded remarks to the 2020 United Nations General Assembly.
And the Durham report?
Shipwreckcrew never got back to me about the possibility that Trump would wait until after the election, therefore, my speculation of what his thinking might have been has been rendered moot. Instead, he believes that President Trump should not only pick the best candidate, who is likely to be Barrett, but should welcome the fight for the same reasons Matthew and I have suggested. Low information voters will see for themselves for the first time perhaps, just how deranged the democrat party has become. They will be tied light stink on shit to the violent Biden voters in the streets. They will also see how stable and articulate the nominee is by comparison. The dims, including Harris, who as he says is not a good lawyer, will go out on a limb to please the left, and in so doing may find themselves on the losing side of the Gunfight at OK Corral just before the election. Shipwreck’s analysis below is sound.

Pres. Trump and the GOP Should Want This Fight Over the Supreme Court — the Nominee Should Set off a Partisan Brawl

FILE – In this May 19, 2018 file photo, Amy Coney Barrett, United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit judge, speaks during the University of Notre Dame’s Law School commencement ceremony at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. Barrett is one of four judges thought to be President Donald Trump’s top contenders to fill a vacancy on the Supreme Court. (Robert Franklin /South Bend Tribune via AP, File)
There are several ways to work through the options presented to Pres. Trump and the Senate Republicans with regard to filling the Supreme Court seat left vacant by the passing of Justice Ginsburg.
Some will value the taking of that seat by a reliable conservative Justice above all other considerations or outcomes. For them, selecting a nominee most likely to achieve confirmation by generating the least controversy is the best option. Getting the 6th seat on the Court is a greater service to conservatism than worrying about the impact of the process on the upcoming election.
But such an approach would mean sacrificing unnecessarily an electoral opportunity.
It does seem plausible to me that the Democrats — if convinced that Senate Majority Leader McConnell has the 50 votes he needs for confirmation — might not vociferously oppose, on substance, a minority female nominee like Judge Barbara Lagoa. It is one thing to go after another white male Ivy League Washington politician/lawyer/judge like Justice Kavanaugh. It is something completely different to mount any kind of similar frontal attack on a Cuban-American female judge, mother of three, and practicing Catholic simply because Justice Ginsburg has passed in a window of time giving Pres. Trump the opportunity to name her replacement, and he has done so.
Aggressively attacking such a nominee could lose the support of otherwise Democrat-leaning voters who identify with her life story, or simply can’t tolerate such tactics directed at a woman as opposed to a man. The Democrat base will not object, but attacking Judge Lagoa risks losing marginal votes closer to the middle of the political spectrum who might be inclined to vote against Donald Trump, but would find a reason in the ugliness of a Democrat attack on Judge Lagoa to change their mind.
A second class of voters likely to be more impacted by a divisive confirmation fight are so-called “low information” voters — voters who remain detached from the day-to-day political warfare between the parties. Believe it or not, there are millions of Americans who get through days, weeks, and months without having any interest in what Sean Hannity or Rachel Maddow has to say about anything, and for whom internet political drama is something they’ve heard about but never read. They are voters who come to the process late and without firm political convictions. The make up their mind about the candidates based in large part on a visceral reaction to what they see and hear in the last two weeks before the election.
The calendar seems to dictate that a televised confirmation hearing before the Judiciary Committee would likely take place in mid-to-late October, with a vote scheduled for the week prior to election day. So a televised battle over the nominee in late October will register with such voters and could have an impact with that 10-15% of the electorate in the middle. The calculus for whether to fight and who to fight over must take into consideration the middle of the electorate who might be persuaded.
As I said above, cooler heads in the Democrat party, if the vote is lost, should take into consideration how their antagonism will play to voters in the middle. If Judge Lagoa is the nominee, political acuity would direct the Democrat attack against Pres. Trump for making the nomination, while at the same time praising Judge Lagoa for all she has accomplished in her personal and professional lives. The Democrats should be signaling — if the vote for Ginsburg’s seat is lost — that the fight now is not about Judge Lagoa, the fight is about who might make the next 2-3 appointments to the Court by virtue of winning the election on Nov. 3.
I give the Democrats in the Senate — especially the morons on the Judiciary Committee — almost no credit for being able to game out the politics of their options. I expect them to go after the nominee in every dishonest, untruthful, and duplicitous way they can, just like they did with Brett Kavanaugh. But I think their chances of stumbling upon a smarter approach go up if the nominee is Judge Lagoa. I think the likelihood that the Democrats commit political seppuku increases significantly if the nominee is Judge Amy Coney Barrett.
That’s why I think the nominee should be Judge Barrett.
Two members of the Judiciary Committee have openly announced their anti-Catholic bigotry — Sen. Dianne Feinstein and Sen. Kamala Harris. Sen. Feinstein did it in the confirmation hearing for Judge Barrett’s nomination to the Seventh Circuit making the hideously obscene comment “The dogma lives loudly in you.” Sen. Harris questioned Judge Brian Buescher’s membership in the Catholic fraternal order “Knights of Columbus”. Sen. Mazie Hirono followed up, but I’m not convinced she even knew what “Knights of Columbus” is.
The remainder of the Judiciary Committee Democrats are a collection of dolts and dullards, with only a couple exceptions. Patrick Leahy is incapable of participating any longer other than reading from note cards prepared by his staff, which means a bunch of left-wing lunatics from Vermont control his questioning of a nominee. Sheldon Whitehouse and Richard Blumenthal have the unfortunate circumstance of being idiot lawyers who think they are brilliant, and a jurist such as Judge Barrett will crush them if they make any effort to engage her substantively.
Richard Durbin is a crafty guy and probably avoids trouble. Same for Amy Klobuchar — who would have trouble making trouble even if she wanted to. Chris Coons is one guy who can probably make it through a meaningful line of questioning without sounding like an idiot or creating unnecessary drama. Corey Booker is thinking about 2024, knows this is an opportunity to stand out, and has the capacity to make a huge problem by grandstanding on some issue he does not understand. But at that point, he’s more likely to immediately “shrink from the fight” when he realizes he’s ventured into deep water.
That leaves us with Mazie Hirono. She is guaranteed to say something both stupid and offensive — without realizing she’s done it. That means she’s also capable of doubling down and continuing to go forward on the topic. If Joe Biden were still in the Senate, she would have a competitor for being its dimmest bulb. As things stand, she’s in a class of her own, but she won’t be dissuaded by that. She’s a crusader without an intellectual sword.
Harris deserves further mention because the left-wing will expect something from her. The problem is that she’s not a very good lawyer — never has been. Her questioning in the Kavanaugh hearing was almost comical. She set up a line of questioning on whether Justice Kavanaugh had ever discussed the Mueller investigation with “anyone”. She then drilled down and asked if he ever discussed it with anyone at Kasowitz, Benson & Torres law firm, the firm of Pres. Trump’s personal attorney. She warned him to “Be sure about your answer.” She spent six minutes trying to get an answer while refusing to offer up any clarification on who she might be referring to, as if Judge Kavanaugh had some obligation to walk into her “perjury trap” with a blind answer and not knowing if she had an ace up her sleeve. She had no payoff to her questions when he was unwilling to answer her “in the dark” — as if she hadn’t planned anything if she didn’t get the answer she was expecting.
The second day Justice Kavanaugh was able to tell her that after reviewing the Kasowitz’s firm roster of attorneys, he knew one person there but had never spoken to that person about Mueller.
That was it. She had nothing to respond with. All her suggestions to the media that Justice Kavanaugh was hiding something went up in a puff of smoke. Her lack of chops as a lawyer was laid bare for all to see.
The lack of serious legal talent among the Democrats on the Judiciary Committee almost guarantees that at least two or more of them will feel the irresistible compulsion to attack Judge Barrett as a Catholic anti-abortion, pro-gun ideologue who would sound the death knell for Roe v. Wade, and wall-to-wall press coverage of the spectacle will be assured.
I’m not sure Judge Barrett is the best selection if your only criteria is who is the best conservative that could be nominated. But as a matter of electoral politics, I see what she represents as a huge bonus for President Trump on November 3 in the places this election will be won. She’s the mother of five biological children, and she and her husband have adopted two other children from Haiti. As such, she is the antithesis of college-educated single and childless females at the heart of the Democrat coalition who overwhelmingly oppose Pres. Trump. So what? He’s not winning their votes no matter what he does.
But at the same time, I believe Judge Barrett reflects in many ways the “highest best” version of how millions of married wives and mothers see themselves and their role in society. These suburban moms have leaked away from Pres. Trump over the past four years. Watching the Democrats in the Committee denigrate Judge Barrett’s accomplishments and her beliefs will work to the benefit of the GOP on election day.
“Wbboei how about Allison Jones Rushing?”
——————-
My impression of Rushing is that she’s brilliant, but a bit too young.
To me, she lacks the calm self-assurance that only age and experience, leavened by a few hard knocks, can provide.
Romney said he approves moving forward with the vote prior to the election. He did not say he would vote for the nominee. I don’t trust the SOB.
Dancing thru Ohio. 😀
As you can see, Shipwreck raises the remote possibility that dims will not go blatto because they realize confirmation is assured, and the negative electoral effect of going full metal jacket against a distinguished woman jurist on the eve of an election. However, in my view, chances that they will game out their options and embrace restraint with the hounds of hell leftist nipping at their heels is effectively zilch. Moreover, the chances that Trump will choose a nominee who will allow them to gracefully back off is also zilch. He is a showman and and realizes the truth of what Eurides said in the 4th century BCE: “Those the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad”. And the madder the dims get, the better.

This is why I hope Trump nominates Barrett. Nothing I can think of could do more to expose the deranged left , and give the limited intellectual capacity of their senators, they would also be seen for the fools they truly are. The closest I have seen to this was during the Gorsuch confirmation hearings that former Senator from Minnesota Al Franken trying to match witts with Gorsuch and thinking he was scoring points while he was going down for the count. Mike Johnson (R-La) is a fine congressman, and his support for Barrett is unequivocal. Mine is too.

ACB would be an excellent choice.
It will be fun watching her bring out the frenzied left anti-catholic Christian bigotry, trying to convince all that Pope Francis will dictate her every decision.

gonzo, why don’t you direct that question to Canadianhegemony, who made the point you refer to.
“Romney said he approves moving forward with the vote prior to the election. He did not say he would vote for the nominee. I don’t trust the SOB.”
————————
Here’s what Romney said:
“The Constitution gives the President the power to nominate and the Senate the authority to provide advice and consent on Supreme Court nominees. Accordingly, I intend to follow the Constitution and precedent in considering the President’s nominee. If the nominee reaches the Senate floor, I intend to vote based upon their qualifications.”
He doesn’t seem to be giving himself much wiggle room.

It’s the last part of posRomney’s quote I find disturbing “I intend to vote based upon their qualifications”
The guy is a total slime ball.
It would be hard to believe that Romney would do anything to help either Trump and shape the future of the Court in a likely conservative majority . We have all learned that he is a narcissist and is only out for himself. I voted when ran against Obama and I actually thought he was a decent person at the time. Boy did I learn what he really was all about.
We all did JB, sams with Hillary
I must say I got into a few fights here with still people hillary supporters that just didn’t care what she did
In fact, Admin wouldn’t let me post anymore, put me in temporary suspension I guess, because some were crying to Admin that I was mean…and to be truthful, I was surprised Admin did what they did because , truly, in the end, I didn’t say anything that Admin didn’t say later.
Maybe ot was all the spelling errors, lol, big thumbs and autocorrect are not my friends
I would not worry about that. That statement he made locks him in.
The statement is in three (3) parts:
First, it focuses on qualifications and the all candidates under consideration are highly qualified.
Second, it distinguishes this case from Garland, thereby immunizing him from pressure to let the next president decide, based on that faux comparison.
Third, it is consistent with the Constitution.
It would be hard to believe that Romney would do anything to help either Trump and shape the future of the Court in a likely conservative majority

There is an exception to that rule. If opposing Trump would be political suicide. He is different in that respect than the dims and their big media whores. Those “folks” as in ein reich, ein volk, ein fuerher, are kamikazees.
US Marshall’s just rescued 35 kids from sexy traffickers in Ohio, previously rescued 5 and arrested 261 “suspects “, mostly gang members, Ohio too
Isn’t that the crying son of a mailman’s state?
FBI nowhere to be found
Then there is this idiot
https://legalinsurrection.com/2020/09/susan-collins-will-vote-no-on-trump-scotus-nominee-were-simply-too-close-to-the-election/
So Murkowski will follow Collins and Mitt unreliable . Pence would then have to vote to break the tie ? Blowing a once in a lifetime chance to significantly change the trajectory of the court. Roberts is clearly a liberal so we need another true conservative. The GOP deserves to lose the senate as those 3 are more or less dems . It’s tiring always having to worry about how those 3 will vote on the most important issues and it gives them way too much leverage.
looking like it will be Amy Barrett

a few thoughts upon reflection when it comes to PDT & Covid
PDT had the PR on Covid in the palm of his hands months ago when he initiated his Task Force & did daily updates with his “medical team”
Everything was going great, PDT’s numbers were going thru the roof, I myself was comparing him as our FDR & his fireside chats & it seems the public was agreeing…
THEN…what happened…
PDT lost his focus…and instead of keeping his updates CRISP, informative & encouraging they descended to daily battles between PDT & the media & went way off topic & got personal & often last between 1-2 HOURS!!!
It was exhausting & he lost the public’s interest…and PDT’s numbers started to drop re Covid
all he had to do was keep his short, again crisp, daily updates going & he not only would have been still in charge of the story but he also would have been able to counter stats from Dems & Media that made no sense…and the Covid story got away from PDT & right into the exploiting & waiting hands of the Dems…
which brings me to how I believe PDT has to go on the offense against Biden & Dems attacks on him for Covid…there is no reason for Biden or ANY DEM to get high marks when it comes to Covid, the did NOTHING…it is simply that as Dems are known to do….they turned PDT’s good story against him…and as we all know have turned it into PDT has KILLED 200,000 people & DID NOT DO HIS JOB & LIED…
So what can PDT do to change that narrative…He MUST go on the offense with dogged FOCUS
First he has to hit Biden HARD DURING THE DEBATE…he must:
FIRST…establish what he, PDT was actually doing during onset of Covid, stopped China, put together his Task Force, quote Fauci as saying “PDT’s mobilization of RESOURCES INCLUDING PRIVATE COMPANIES & OUR GOVT was IMMPRESSIVE & NO ONE COULD DO MORE”
There is an ACTUAL VIDEO TAPE OF FAUCI saying that in those words that Hannity played in a montage…PDT’s team needs to get that clip & put it into the ADS going on Covid offense he will/should start running after the first debate
SECOND…PDT needs to remind everyone while he was barring China from entering the USA & Biden was calling him a xenophobe, there were about 29 Dems running for President & in multiple Televised debates every week AND NOT ONE QUESTION WAS EVER ASKED ABOUT COVID TO ANY DEM during ALL those debates because…
THIRD…THE DEMS & House of Representatives & MEDIA/PRESS WERE TOTALLY preoccupied with IMPEACHING PDT…that is what the Dems were doing at onset of Covid & also all of them, Pelosi, Cuomo, DeBlasio, Anderson Cooper, Dr Sanju, all of news shows were essentially saying COVID was a DISTRACTION from impeachment & it was nothing, go to Chinatown, go out to restaurants, the flu was much more dangerous…etc…
FOURTH…PDT MUST HAVE ACCURATE STATS at the top of his head; PDT MUST COUNTERPUNCH with the STATS FOR THE DEATH OF SENIORS IN 4 MAJOR DEM STATES because of the insanity of the Dem Governors policy that did in fact KILL THE SENIORS & PDT MUST GIVE THE SHOCKING NUMBERS FOR SENIOR DEATHS FOR NY Governor Cuomo, NY Governor Phil Murphy, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer & Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf
PDT must give the Senior total death & then ADD THOSE TO the other deaths in each state & total those FOUR DEM STATES & compare it to the total in the USA death numbers (those 4 states are at least one third or more of all deaths in USA)
PDT has to fight back hard & EXPOSE the blatant & abhorrent LIES OF THE DEMS RE COVID ONCE & FOR ALL…
I always said he empowered the Press too much.
He should give his daily info and accept only written questions
Have slides with stats, too hard to remember them all
And end it in 15/20 min
Pretty such the press would stop showing it but we are past that at this point
I don’t really hear anyone but the Dems blame Trump, maybe I don’t get around much but this really is all about “Orange man bad”
Economy, they don’t care.. obviously as they were willing and continue to destroy it
Peace.. nothing burger
Covid.. just the excuse of the day
Foxy…you are great at finding important videos
I have tried to find that one I mention above of Fauci raving about how impressive PDT’s immobilization was during onset of Covid, Hannity played it in a montage on one of his shows within last 2 weeks or so…
I have tried I cannot find it, I am sure Google is burying it…maybe I will try to email Hannity because that clip is great for PDT’s Covid counterpunch
maybe you will have some luck if you have the time…?
*******************************************************
also in that list of PDT’s COVID counterpunch ammo above…
obviously PDT must sing his own praises & give details of that impressive MOBILIZATION OF RESOURCES he accomplished that Fauci applauded
Navy hospital ships, Javitts Ctr, PPE, Ventilators, etc etc etc & all the Dem governors thanking him profusely for going above & beyond
Agree S . The pressers were way too long and became a battle between lying media and Trump who would not back down.
The media won’t show but a minute of his pressers if they are not allowed to abuse him and his staff
Even Fox cut away from the General today, always making excuses as to why
So yes, they were combative and lost was the important information
But they won’t show an information only presser
Bet on it
yes, the problem thinks he can win the press over…even if he secretly could or did…they are NEVER EVER going to let anyone know that…they still must be the vicious attack dogs they are or lose their cred…so that is a losing battle for him…he just should let that go…& woodward…forget about them…maybe at end of term 2 not in the heat of battle!
Manchin, why don’t they vote this creep out
https://justthenews.com/government/courts-law/senator-joe-manchin-says-no-supreme-court-vote-election

Dean Wigmore, the seminal authority on the law of evidence made an observation which explains the reason Trump engages with the press and endures their hostile questions. That engagement is analogous to cross examination. According to Wigmore, direct examination can be effective, but its persuasive value is limited compared to cross examination. As he put it, direct examination is like gunpowder –it moves along its appointed path. But cross examination–either attacking the witness or in cases like this the questioner himself, rends in all directions –like dynamite. Simply put, their cross examination of the president in these press conferences has destroyed them, not the president.
With the exception of John Roberts at FOX and the OAN Network, can you honestly say that ANY of the rest of that White House Press Corps is a serious journalist? Can you? The question answers itself.
I have come up with a new name for Jobiden:
ZEUS.
Zeus[a] is the sky and thunder god in ancient Greek religion, who rules as king of the gods of Mount Olympus. His name is cognate with the first element of his Roman equivalent Jupiter.
The only difference between Zeus and Jobiden is Zeus never plagiarized Neil Kennock.
Then again, I could be wrong.
Perhaps Jobiden is more of a Rip Van Winkle.
I don’t understand what the Supreme Court has not taken up this BS mail in votes that all these states are clearly going to cheat
Like night and Day! 😀
Biden has a short list. lol.

The Morning Briefing: Kamala Harris Will Remind Everyone How Awful She Is During Confirmation Hearing
BY STEPHEN KRUISER SEP 23, 2020 5:20 AM EST
Tom Williams/CQ Roll Call/Pool via AP
Democrats May Regret Harris Being Back in the Confirmation Hearing Spotlight
Hump Day is here and we plod on into the end of the week as best we can. I’ll be plodding with a bit of whiskey. I hope you’re all having a wonderful start to your day, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends.
One big plot twist to this David Lynch movie that we’re calling 2020 is that the Democrats’ nominee for vice president also sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Kamala Harris will have to take some time off of the strange, mostly virtual campaign trail that she and Grandpa Gropes have been on so she can attend to her day job. It’s not like Biden will be able to pick up the slack with Harris in Washington for several days.
We’re in campaign crunch time and the stakes have been raised since the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg last Friday. This is when candidates are wearing themselves out to make their cases. On Tuesday, Biden officially called it a day before noon for the second time in four days.
He’s gassed and there is more than a month to go. If Harris is pulled away from covering for this drooling idiot there’s a chance that the water-carrying press may not be able to gloss over his extended nap time.
Some on the Left think that the confirmation hearing could be a golden campaign opportunity for Kamala Harris.
Axios:
President Trump’s Supreme Court plans have created a major opportunity for Sen. Kamala Harris to go on offense, Axios’ Alexi McCammond reports.
Why it matters: A confirmation fight puts Harris back in the spotlight thanks to her role on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Allies still point to her grilling Justice Brett Kavanaugh in 2018 (clips of which have racked up millions of views on YouTube) and they laugh at her “suggested … hinted … inferred?” exchange with Attorney General William Barr in May regarding the Mueller report.
These exchanges with Harris often go viral and they usually showcase a moment where she’s riffing or offering a snap reaction to the person she’s questioning.
Those are the electric moments that you can’t always learn during debate prep, and allies say they show that Harris is meticulous and skilled at the clapback — arguing both will serve her well in the Oct. 7 debate against VP Mike Pence.
I think there’s a lot of mental revisionist history going on there, unless what they are hoping for is that Harris gets another opportunity to remind everyone what a shrill shrew she is.
As we have noted many times before, Kamala Harris is so off-putting that her own party decided she was the first of the “top tier” candidates in the Democratic primary race who needed to go. Increased exposure to the public doesn’t really go well for Harris.
Harris
(AP Photo/Jacquelyn Martin)
Since it’s a given that President Trump is going to nominate a woman, Harris’s Kavanaugh antics almost certainly won’t play as favorably as the Axios writer thinks.
If, as noted in yesterday’s Morning Briefing, Amy Coney Barrett or Barbara Lagoa are nominated, Harris may be exposed for the anti-Catholic bigot that she is:
In 2018, Kamala Harris suggested that Judge Brian Buescher was unfit to serve on the bench because he is a member of the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic fraternal organization and charitable group with millions of members.
“Since 1993, you have been a member of the Knights of Columbus, an all-male society comprised primarily of Catholic men,” Harris began. “In 2016, Carl Anderson, leader of the Knights of Columbus, described abortion as ‘a legal regime that has resulted in more than 40 million deaths.’ Mr. Anderson went on to say that ‘abortion is the killing of the innocent on a massive scale.’ Were you aware that the Knights of Columbus opposed a woman’s right to choose when you joined the organization?”
A Catholic organization opposing abortion? Who knew?
The optics of Harris teeing off on a Roman Catholic mother with a shrieking progressive “gender traitor” rant won’t really help Team Harris-Biden win over any hearts and minds in swing states where the polls are tight.
It really doesn’t matter that the people who were already going to vote for the Democrat Trojan Horse ticket will be thrilled with whatever Harris does during the hearing. The people she needs to reach will see her for what she is.
And that’s terribly unpleasant.
I’m getting nervous .

From the redstate article:
Expect Collins to switch too. After the hearings Collins will declare that the nominee is so good she cannot help but vote to confirm. There is an election after all.

“Murkowski said that whether she was in favor of moving forward or not, it was going to proceed, and she was not ruling out that she might confirm the Trump nominee.
Expect Collins to switch too. After the hearings Collins will declare that the nominee is so good she cannot help but vote to confirm. There is an election after all.”
——————-
I was hoping something like this would happen.
Agree that if Murkowski folds, then Collins probably will, too.
Murkowski is the tougher nut to crack. Remember Kavanaugh?
Of course, even if Murkowski folds, it won’t do her any good. She’ll still lose to Sarah Palin when her term is up in 2022.
POTUS Trump presser!!
JB –
Do you know any ambitious attorneys in FL that are willing to take on the small cell deployments? Lots of business brewing as the State Laws are resulting in the installation of high power small cells in ROW that are violations of federal law and FCC rules because the State Law prohibits review. I am going to post links to a couple of my FCC filings for a cluster-F here in Boynton.
Shocking – The small cells being deployed in Palm Beach County Right-of-Ways are getting no review because of the State Law. They can not even ask what antenna it is. And from the BB permits I can see it is a high powered antenna with up to 16,000 watts of ERP. Some sites are 25 feet from homes. They are permitted by their physical size. Obviously DeSantis, who signed this Law, is not too bright. I have been filing Controversies with the FCC. This is a double one. One for the City and one for the County. Here is one

Here is one for the County – I will be forwarding these to the Governor, also, to see if he might catch on to what is going on in his state.

Massive damages. These things have 5 bands and only one could be considered 5G and that is mid-band. The antennas are 5G Trojan Horses for the 1-2-3-4G stuff that is improperly being installed in close proximity. The whole 5G thing is a hideous scam.

New Supreme Court term begins October 5.
——-
This raises an important tactical question, which I for one do not know the answer to:
If the Trump nominee is confirmed by the Senate AFTER the commencement of the October term, can the confirmed nominee join the court upon confirmation, or must the nominee wait until the new term? The most important issue will be election fraud, aided and abetted by fraudulent maneuvering by state court judges controlled by democrats who have zero fealty to the rule of law and are nothing more than intellectual prostitutes and political hacks.
Many conservatives relish the prospect of Harris falling on her own sword by revealing her marginal legal skills and her anti Catholic dogma. HOWEVER, others like Rush and last night Sidney Powell say it would be best to dispense with all that nonsense and confirm the judicial nominee immediately so she can sit on the court at the commencement of the new session. Surely the noises that douchebag Brian Fallon is making about boycotting the confirmation hearings, and that Pelosi idiot who says she will lay her body (strange metaphor, but these are weirdos so no surprise) on the floor of the senate to prevent them from proceeding. Makes you wish we had a blue flame Panzer division on hand to greet her, but of course we don’t operate that way, even though progressives do. We choose legal avenues, like applying anti trust laws to Google, Facebook and Twitter, etc.
Well I received a reply from DeSantis’ office that their email is piled too high to read. So I guess the thing to do is purchase radio-protective PPE to go vote. The funding for the technological monstrosities being installed in our communities probably came from the last Pork Feeding stimulus from Trump, perhaps at the suggestion of our AG. Maybe the regulators at the FCC will come out from under their desks and start answering their phones and reading their email, that is doubtless piled too high to read.
How many day until the election? Order you PPE now.
Good Question.

Your video of dems booing our President and First Lady is appalling. May they all go to hell.
Wbboei, the new Justice may join the court as soon as she is sworn in. The October 5 term commencement won’t matter. In addition, cases heard before she is confirmed will likely be reheard so that she may vote. With a majority of conservatives on the court the new Justice will be met with welcome arms. Chief Justice Roberts will not be the guy running the court anymore because the conservative Justices can overrule whatever schedule he makes. 6-3 makes a big difference and none of it is good for Roberts the Quisling.
I heard in Dennis Miller podcast today with Mollie Hemingway as a guest that the turtle is considering NOT getting the vote before the election
How dumb would that be? No guarantee that we keep the Senate
