Eleven people were shot in Democrat-controlled New York City between 5:30 p.m. Saturday and 5 a.m. Sunday. [snip]

The violence means there have been 59 shootings since Monday, and those resulted in a total of “81 people shot.”

Breitbart News reported on June 23 that NYC shootings surged 358 percent over what they were a year ago. NBC 4 pointed to data which showed there were 55 shootings June 14-20, 2020, compared to 12 for the same week in 2019.

At least 20 people were shot, seven fatally, in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) Chicago over a 24-hour period that began around 4 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2020, Breitbart News reported.

    Poll: Biden’s 2020 lead narrows

    If the general election for President were held today, 43 percent of registered voters said they’d choose vote for presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden, while 39 percent said they would vote for a second President Trump term, a new Hill-HarrisX poll finds.

    The four-point lead for the former vice president is down from 10 percentage points in the same poll from June 1-4. Trump trailed Biden 47-37 in that poll.

    Nine percent of registered voters said they were undecided, no change from the last poll.

    The Hill-HarrisX poll comes as a number of national polls have shown Biden surging, pushing out to a 10 point lead in the RealClearPolitics average of polls.

    A recent New York Times-Siena College poll saw Biden with a 14 percentage point lead.

    Five percent of those surveyed in the Hill-HarrisX poll said they would prefer to vote someone else, a 1 percentage point uptick from earlier this month, while 4 percent of voters still said they do not plan to vote in the presidential election.

    The poll found that Biden maintains his support among independent voters with 36 percent choosing the former Vice President and 30 percent saying they’d vote for President Trump in the general.

    Party loyalty seems to be intensifying for the President with a 4 percentage point increase of support among Republican voters.

    The Hill-HarrisX poll was conducted online among 951 registered voters between June 22-23. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.18 percentage points.

    The poll of 1,021 likely 2020 general election voters was conducted between June 23 and June 25. Trump’s one-point lead over Biden is within the poll’s 3 percent margin of error, so the results reflect a statistical tie between the two.

    The results are a significant departure from a slew of recent polls showing Biden leading battleground states Trump won in 2016, including Wisconsin. The most recent polls in Wisconsin prior to the release of Monday’s Trafalgar Group poll have shown Biden with a significant lead, as the Real Clear Politics Average of Polls for the state indicates.

    A Marquette University Poll conducted between June 14 and June 18 gave Biden an eight-point lead. A CNBC/Change Research Poll conducted between June 12 and June 14 gave Biden a four-point lead. A New York Times/Siena University Poll conducted between June 8 and June 15 gave Biden an 11-point lead. A Fox News poll conducted between May 30 and June 2 gave Biden a nine-point lead.

    The methodology of Monday’s Trafalgar Group Poll differs from those four more recent polls that show Biden in the lead in a number of ways.

    First, the Trafalgar Group has a larger sample size and lower margin of error than any of the other recent polls.

    The Trafalgar Group’s sample size of 1,021 likely general election voters has a margin of error of 3 percent, while the Marquette University Poll had a sample size of 805 and a margin of error of 4.3 percent, the New York Times/Siena University poll had a sample size of 655 and a margin of error of 4.3 percent, the CNBC Change Research Poll had a sample size of 231 and a margin of error so great as to not even be included in the poll’s report, and the Fox News Poll had a sample size of 801 and a margin of error of 3.5 percent.

    Second, and of equal importance, among the polls that had a sample size large enough to identify a margin of error, only the Trafalgar Group Poll focused on likely general election voters, the most reliable indicator of how people will actually vote. Prior to that moment, personal success depends on performance, afterward, it depends entirely on politics, and when that transformation occurs, a bureaucracy emerges which is no different that what we see in government. Success in that environment depends on telling the boss what he wants to hear.

    So many of the noveau rich worked in that environment, and learned to lie to others, including themselves. This insight, if that is what it is, provides an additional layer of explanation for why so many of these people are wealthy but left wing democrats. They get their sense of reality from msnbc and cnn. Why? Because it tells them what they want to hear, to sustain their delusion.

  19. Sidney Powell won a significant victory when her writ of mandamus was granted by the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals requiring Judge Sullivan to dismiss the case against General Michael Flynn. At this time, Judge Sullivan has not entered the dismissal. Powell sat down with Jan Jakielek for an extended interview about the case and dropped a few bombs in the process.

    Powell began by saying it is extraordinary that Judge Sullivan has not complied with the order. In her experience, this would typically occur within 24-48 hours. The briefing and hearing schedule have both been canceled, but the case has not been formally dismissed. She added that the full court could review the case, but in this circumstance, it would be unprecedented.

    She took over the case from Covington and Burling approximately a year ago. Powell said in speaking with General Flynn, she was convinced he was innocent. Therefore no plea deal was going to be appropriate. From the government’s filings, Powell knew there was Brady evidence that had never been provided to Flynn’s legal team.

    She filed a lengthy brief detailing the Brady evidence she was seeking and felt confident it would be granted. To her shock, Judge Sullivan did not order the production of the documents the government had listed in their filing. He denied every single one in a scathing response to her

    The foregoing excerpts from a longer article are the imprimatur of a corrupt judge. Period.

    Sullivan denied Flynn’s attorney the constitutional right to obtain for her client evidence of prosecutorial misconduct by the Obama Justice Department, and evidence that he never committed the crime he was charged with. Yessir. That was Sullivan.

    Now he is stalling. He was ordered to dismiss the case by the panel of the DC Circuit. Why is he stalling? He is stalling because he hopes the Circuit will decide to hear the case in bank, meaning the entire roster of judges for that circuit, rather than by a panel of three. The entire rooster consists of nine Obama appointees (with only 4 Republican appointees) who are most likely in the bag, just as Sullivan is. Being nothing more than left wing politicians in black robes, those judges would likely set aside the decision by the panel so it remains going into the election.

    Years ago, a Teamster official and friend was charged with being a member of organized crime in a kangaroo court proceeding presided over by Judge Fred Lacey. Lacey admitted into evidence the testimony of a mafia underboss who was guilty of seventeen murders, but was given immunity and witness protection in exchange for his testimony against Gotti, and everyone else the fbi could think of which included my friend. The evidence was shown to be defective on its face, and should never have been admitted. The proof of his innocence was substantial and he retained the top criminal defense lawyer of that era to handle his appeal to the second circuit. He lost. And that great lawyer told him this: today, I am ashamed to be a lawyer. They had already decided the case against you before I made oral argument. In other words, the fix was in. I am sorry.

    With that hypothetical in mind, and on the assumption that in high profile cases like the Flynn case, such things do happen, more often that we think, I suspect the reason why Sullivan, who has shown himself to be corrupt by the way he handled the case up to that point, has refused to dismiss it now, but has cancelled future oral arguments, is that he is hoping that the appellate judges will decide to hear the case in bank, to benefit the man who nominated them, Obama, to blunt efforts by the Trump campaign to use this case, and to get their boy Sullivan off the hook.

    Mindful of all that, I think we have to accept the fact that Obama judges are politicians in black robes, whose fealty to the constitution is a fleeting thing.

    One of the things she notes in the above video is that 95% of the criminal cases filed by the federal government against individuals are settled through a plea bargain, not because they are always guilty but because the cost for innocent people to defend themselves is cost prohibitive. Moreover, 98% of the cases that go to trial result in guilty verdicts. When you add to that equation, corrupt prosecutors like Andrew Weisman, who is the arch villain of her book License to Lie, they are in a position to do the very thing Beria promised Stalin: show me the man. I will find you the crime! It is therefore imperative that judges force prosecutors to disclose at the outset any and all evidence which exonerates the defendant. That is what Sullivan has refused to do, because, for political reasons he wants the conviction to stand as much or more than the prosecutors so. People like Sullivan have no place on the bench. They are totalitarian creatures inimical to a system of ordered liberty.

    During the Obama years, as US Attorney for Maryland, he directed spying operations against journalist Sharyl Attkinson who was investigating the intelligence services, one of the FBI agents involved has confirmed this, and now she is suing Rosie.

    This is the same Rosenstein who later became Assistant Attorney General, appointed Mueller and according to those present, offered to wear a wire to spy on President Trump, but now claims he is an honorable man, and was just being facetious, because . . .

    Rosenstein, like Brutus, is an honorable man.

    Former CBS Reporter Sharyl Attkisson announced yesterday that she is suing former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein for illegally spying on her during the Obama year. Rosenstein and other Deep State dirty cops are identified in her filing.

    Attkisson announced her lawsuit tonight on her website:

    A former U.S. government agent has admitted participating in the illegal government surveillance on then-CBS New investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson. The insider has identified former U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein as the person responsible for the project.

    As a result of the new admission, Attkisson and her family are filing suit against Rosenstein and four other men allegedly involved. According to the lawsuit, the illegal surveillance was conducted against Attkisson and other U.S. citizens under a government operation based at the U.S. Attorney’s office in Baltimore, Maryland.

    “The Plaintiffs first acquired the details regarding key individuals involved in the surveillance in August, 2019, from a person involved in the wrongdoing who has come forward to provide information. Prior to that time, the Government and its agents and representatives had denied that any such conduct had occurred, including denials in Court pleadings and argument.”

    The Attkisson lawsuit claims that in March 2011, Defendants Shawn Henry, Shaun Bridges, Robert Clarke, and Ryan White, all of whom were government employees connected to a special multi-agency federal government task force based in Baltimore, Maryland, were ordered by Defendant Rosenstein to conduct home computer surveillance on Attkisson and other U.S. citizens.

    Shawn Henry was head of the FBI’s Washington Field Office. In 2012, Henry left the FBI and now is president of CrowdStrike Services, a company that seeks to mitigate targeted online attacks on corporate and government networks globally.

    Shaun Bridges was as a Special Agent with the U.S. Secret Service for approximately six years, operating out of the Baltimore Field Office. Between 2012 and 2014, he was assigned to the Baltimore Silk Road Task Force, a multi-agency group investigating illegal activity on the Silk Road, a covert online marketplace for illicit goods, including drugs. In 2015 and 2017, Bridges was convicted of corruption related to his government work, and is now serving a prison sentence.

    Of course it comes as no surprise that CrowdStrike is involved. CrowdStrike is the firm President Trump asked the President of the Ukraine to look into and is also the only firm which reportedly reviewed and determined that the DNC’s emails were hacked by Russians during the 2016 election.

    Also, this is not the first we heard of Rosenstein being involved in spying on Americans during his tenure in Baltimore. An individual named Johnheretohelp popped up on Twitter and in early 2019 he claimed to have had information that Rod Rosenstein ran an operation out of Baltimore during the Obama years where he was spying on everyone:

    When we last heard from Mayor Jenny Durkan she was making a spectacular mess out of the Antifastan squatters village and murder factory on Seattle’s Capitol Hill.

    Durkan is being sued by people who live and work on Capitol Hill, where she allowed the violent and murderous antifa and Marxist Black Lives Matter squatters to set up their tent city, complete with its own gun-running warlord and shooting gallery. Both kinds.

    At one point Durkan blithely enthused on CNN that the squatters village, now called CHOP, could be a “Summer of Love” situation.

    That was a groovy idea, maaaan, until they came to her house.

    And, as my colleague Bryan Preston has reported, Durkan was very, very upset that protesters from CHOP found out where she lived and set up their “Summer of Love” protest. Very upset.

    She was angry that her address, which is a secret because of her former job as a US Attorney, was revealed to protesters allowing them to scare her family.

    Nonfarm payrolls soared by 4.8 million in June and the unemployment rate fell to 11.1% as the U.S. continued its reopening from the coronavirus pandemic, the Labor Department said Thursday.
    Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had been expecting a 2.9 million increase and a jobless rate of 12.4%. The report was released a day earlier than usual due to the July Fourth holiday.

    The jobs growth marked a big leap from the 2.7 million in May, which was revised up by 190,000. The June total is easily the largest single-month gain in U.S. history.

    Trump crowed about the news.

    “Our economy is roaring back,” Trump declared Thursday, saying the response to the coronavirus pandemic, coordinated with governors, is “working out very well.”

I remember being so excited in 81 when they had a segment on the 81 Stones tour. The most charitable thing one could say about Roberts, and I have said many uncharitable ones and meant them, is that he is so concerned with looking neutral that the dances with the devil half the time. Its like the judge who presided over our moot court competition in law school, who took perverse delight in sustaining evidentiary objections, or over ruling them, one a tit for tat–one for you then one for you etc. Then as now, I think there was very little going on between his ears, but of course he was a judge, therefore it was contra bonus mores to wonder about such things, much less to question them aloud. Arguably, Roberts is cut from the same cloth. To label him a liberal as some do gives him more credit than he deserves. My guess is he has no particular set of values. To date, no one I know has come forward with a book entitled “The Judicial Philosophy of John Roberts”. It would be like a blind man in a dark room looking for a black cat that isn’t there.

  74. Wbboei,to show you how screwed up our system is, I went to a criminal restitution hearing to get my client reimbursed for some expenses in a dui car accident to set up the civil suit. The Judge, a prick who went from county court to criminal court, looks at me and says “No” . I asked him under what statute or rationale was he denying restitution for an at fault driver and he tells me “you need to shut up or I will hold you in contempt. You can go for it in your civil suit”. This is todays pro offender Judicial system.

    In case you’re wondering, Pelosi didn’t just pull the name “George Kirby” out of thin air. George Kirby is mostly forgotten today, but he was an African-American comedian and impressionist who made dozens of appearances on The Tonight Show and various variety shows and game shows in the ’60s and ’70s, back when Pelosi was a young woman. So today, when her aging brain reached for the name of the man whose death triggered the current wave of rioting and looting, she pulled up the name of a black person named “George” who she remembered from a long time ago.

    Hey, it could’ve been worse. She could’ve said “George Jefferson.”

    And she’s not the only one having trouble with George Floyd’s name:

    They claim George Floyd’s death is emblematic of America’s racism, yet they can’t even remember his name. Pelosi is claiming the Republicans “murdered” Floyd — in a city and state entirely controlled by Democrats — yet she got him confused with a comedian who’s been dead for 25 years.

    But this is one of the few things you’ll ever read about it, because the news doesn’t care. And the news doesn’t care because Pelosi and Schumer are Democrats. Put an (R) after their names and this magically transforms into a week-long scandal.

    In just a few hours President Trump will headline what promises to be a huge rally at Mount Rushmore, SD. It promises to be a blockbuster.

    The rally is in South Dakota not only because of the patriotic imagery (that is unless you are pathetic pus-filled nodule in the New York Times newsroom obsessing about two of the presidents featured there owning slaves and the alleged personal politics of the sculptor, read Nick Arama’s NY Times Rips Off the Mask on How Anti-American They Are on Mount Rushmore, and They Get Crushed for details) and because there is no fascistic ‘social distancing’ and face diaper requirement in South Dakota. Governor Kristi Noem is 100% behind the rally and it is being held on federal land which reduces the ability of the NeverTrumpers and Karens to sabotage the rally as seems to have been done in Tulsa.

    The two main lines of outrage and attack on the rally are both exhibited in this Washington Post article headlined Trump to hold Fourth of July gathering at Mount Rushmore as coronavirus surges.

    President Trump is heading to Mount Rushmore National Memorial in South Dakota on Friday for a massive Independence Day celebration replete with fireworks and a presidential address, in which he plans to lament “the left wing mob” and so-called “cancel culture.”

    South Dakota Gov. Kristi L. Noem (R) confirmed this week that social distancing won’t be enforced and that the approximately 7,500 expected attendees will not be required to wear masks. The United States on Thursday recorded the largest single-day total of new coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic, and on Friday a number of states set new case records.

    This is just fear mongering on the part of a media that cares not one whit about public health but cares very, very much about two or three other things like a) destroying the economy to try to defeat Trump in November, b) decreasing the personal freedom of Americans and c) retaining its tenuous hold on its status as a gatekeeper of information for Americans. Numbers of cases, like numbers of tests (odd how those two items rise in tandem, no?), is a useless metric. The real focal point is hospital bed capacity and non-nursing home deaths. The former is not stressed and the latter continues to drop. Trump holding a rally and refusing to obey the silly rules we’ve been lied to about simply reveals the media as the credulous catchfarts for NeverTrump and the Democrats, though there is no longer any functional difference between the two, that they are when dealing with any aspect of the Trump presidency.

    The second line of attack is that Trump and his supporters are just so damned insensitive:

    While the governor and the president are billing the event as a celebration, some see it as an insult. Trump is expected to be met by protests organized by Native American leaders, who have criticized the president’s use of the memorial, which they say was built on sacred tribal land, as well as the risk the event poses to the environment and to public health.

    “The whole Black Hills is sacred. For them to come and carve the presidents, slave owners who have no meaning to us, it was an insult,” Ricky Gray Grass, a member of the Oglala Sioux’s executive council, told The Washington Post earlier this week.

    F*** him and the horse he rode in on. The United States has owned the Black Hills for longer than the Sioux. The Sioux, originally from much further east, didn’t reach the Black Hills until about 1776 when they drove the Cheyenne out of the area. The United States took possession of the Black Hills, also by force of arms, in 1877. This means the Sioux owned the land for barely a century and the United States has been the owner for nearly a century and a half. The fact is that most of the earth’s surface has been owned by someone other than the current owner at some point. Grow the f*** up. If you don’t have the military power to defend what you claim as yours, you lose the right to snivel about losing it.

    And another thing, this ‘sacred land’ nonsense. This is a smoke screen that is thrown up by American Indian activist with such monotonous regularity it is farcical. The Dakota Access Pipeline was suddenly found to be on sacred land. We’re discovering that parts of federal land in Arizona that lie in the route of the border wall have suddenly been discovered to be sacred. Personally, I don’t really go for observing pagan religious rituals–don’t take this personally, I feel the same way about climate change– so I don’t care but you be you. If you don’t own the land, I care a helluva lot less. And when you are transparently claiming that your ‘oral tradition’ says that a certain clump of grass or dung heap is sacred in order to affect a political end, I do not care at all and I can’t even be made to be interested.

    If you want to worry about something, I suggest you worry about the fact that conservative opinion is being censored on the internet by Google, and Twitter, which prevents us from communicating with each other. In any war, going back to the time of the Greeks, the ability to disrupt and ultimately blind the communication system of your enemy is outcome determinative. The most recent example was the Iraq War, where the first move was to knock out Hussein’s radar system.

    Google, Twitter etc. need to be broken up. Holding them to a publisher standard rather than a platform standard is no longer enough. They need to be destroyed. We’re reminded of it 24-7 by a media that apparently believes that by making America look like a combination of Stalin’s Soviet Union and Hiter’s Germany, they can defeat Donald Trump in November.

    It’s a constant source of mirth that, after solemnly reporting that America is the pits day in and day out for years, a poll comes out to show that…wait for it…Americans think America is the pits. It’s a real “Aha!” moment for the media and is either evidence of their total cluelessness or a very poor sense of humor.

    Gallup has been measuring pride in America since 2001 and in honor of July 4, issued their latest results. They shouldn’t surprise anyone who’s been paying attention.

    CBS:

    According to Gallup, pride in the U.S. is the lowest it’s been since the analytics company first measured it in 2001. The survey shows 70% of U.S. adults are proud to be Americans in the new poll, but just 45% said they are extremely proud.

    While most people still say they are proud to be Americans, this marks the second straight year that the number of extremely proud Americans fell below the majority level. Results held relatively steady for years — between 81% and 92% — before sharply falling in 2017 to 75% during President Trump’s first year in office.

    Naturally, the partisan divide is clear and stark.

    Democrats’ pride consistently measures far lower than that of Republicans, Gallup reports.

    Just 22% of Democrats say they are extremely proud to be an American — a 10-point decrease from 2019 and half of what it was before Mr. Trump was elected. However, 76% of Republicans and 41% of Independents say they are extremely proud.

    Men expressed their pride in higher percentages than women, at 48% compared to 43%. The most patriotic Americans are people 65 years and older, at 63%, while only 33% of people ages 18-29 reported feeling moderately proud to be American.

    The breakdown by age is also not surprising.

    National Review:

    College graduates, people of color, and young people were the least proud to be American, according to the survey. In March 2017, 43 percent of respondents in their twenties said they were extremely proud to be American. Today, that figure stands at just 20 percent.

    To me, it’s amazing that anyone who graduates from a public school has any love for America at all. Teaching the “truth” about history is one thing. It’s good that as many facts about famous people and events are taught to kids.

    But equally important to teach is perspective. And the critical thinking skills that make a discerning, rational, thinking adult are equally lacking.

    The result is simple propaganda, not knowledge.

    But media culpability in this orgy of Trump-hate cannot be (overstated!)

In truth, the experiment is in living together — all peoples, all races, all creeds together.

    Senator Chuck Grassley, like many Americans, is expressing dismay at the delay of results from U.S. Attorney John Durham’s investigation into Obama administration abuse during the 2016 presidential election and the Mueller Special Counsel investigation.

    During an interview with CBS News in May, Attorney General Bill Barr tamped down expectations of the Durham probe.

    “If we were to find wrongdoing in the sense of any criminal act obviously we would follow through on that,” Barr said. “Just because something may even stink to high heaven and appear everyone to be bad we still have to apply the right standard and be convinced there’s a violation of the criminal statute that we can prove beyond a reasonable doubt. The same standard applies to everybody.”

    That being said, Barr heavily criticized the way the FBI and Obama administration was operating/spying on Trump campaign officials.

    “This was not a bonafide counterintelligence investigation. They were closing the investigation in December, they started that process and on January 4 they were closing it,” Barr continued. “They initially tried some theories of how they could open an investigation which didn’t fly and then they found out they had technically not closed the earlier investigation and they kept it open for the express purpose of trying to catch, lay a perjury trap for General Flynn. They didn’t warn him the way we would usually be required by the Department. They bypassed the Justice Department. They bypassed the protocols at the White House and so-forth.”

    “These were things that persuaded me that there was not a legitimate counterintelligence investigation going on,” he said.

    Meanwhile the Senate Judiciary Committee, of which Grassley used to be chairman, is conducting its own investigation into the abuse.

    Last August, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Mohammad Zarif, paid a visit to his China counterpart, Wang Li, to present a roadmap on a comprehensive 25-year China-Iran strategic partnership that built upon a previous agreement signed in 2016. Many of the key specifics of the updated agreement were not released to the public at the time but were uncovered by OilPrice.com at the time. Last week, at a meeting in Gilan province, former Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad alluded to some of the secret parts of this deal in public for the first time, stating that: “It is not valid to enter into a secret agreement with foreign parties without considering the will of the Iranian nation and against the interests of the country and the nation, and the Iranian nation will not recognize it.” According to the same senior sources closely connected to Iran’s Petroleum Ministry who originally outlined the secret element of the 25-year deal, not only is the secret element of that deal going ahead but China has also added in a new military element, with enormous global security implications.

    One of the secret elements of the deal signed last year is that China will invest US$280 billion in developing Iran’s oil, gas, and petrochemicals sectors. This amount will be front-loaded into the first five-year period of the new 25-year deal, and the understanding is that further amounts will be available in each subsequent five year period, provided that both parties agree. There will be another US$120 billion of investment, which again can be front-loaded into the first five-year period, for upgrading Iran’s transport and manufacturing infrastructure, and again subject to increase in each subsequent period should both parties agree.     You may be right, but please, just once, try the benign explanation first. Far from being a “powerful” judge, he may, and probably is simply a corrupt one, who is so spineless and so beholden to political interests, as opposed to the rule of law, that he is fearful that if he does the right thing and dismisses the case, that dismissal will be exploited against him and his party by the Trump campaign, therefore he wants the Court of Appeals to take him off the hook. That said, the fact that most of those, so called Judges on the DC Circuit, are Obama hacks, makes this alternative explanation for his actions less likely than we otherwise hope. Nevertheless it is a possibility, and hardly a novel one when it comes to judges. Cowards, and hyper partisan abusers of public office belong in congress, not in the court system, which pretends to be objective and blind to such things.

    When Mayor Jenny Durkan (D-Seattle) finally sent police in to clear up the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) Occupied Protest (CHOP) — perhaps better referred to as “Antifastan” (no offense to Central Asian countries) — she only acted because President Donald Trump was about to do so if she delayed. The president himself confirmed a rumor to that effect on Sean Hannity’s show Thursday night. Trump said he forced Durkan’s hand to restore law and order after antifa militants had seized territory in Seattle.

    “I had a source that told me, I was not able to confirm it, that one of the reasons that the Seattle mayor finally acted is that they were given notice that if they didn’t act that you were going to. Is there any truth to that?” Hannity asked.

    “A hundred percent,” Trump replied. “We were going in, we were going in very soon, we let them know that. And they, all of a sudden, they didn’t want that. So they went in before we got there.”

    “But we were going in very shortly, very soon, and we would have taken the CHOP, they call it, CHOP. We would have taken it back very easily,” the president added. “But they went in and, frankly, the people just gave up, they were tired, they had it for a very long period of time.”

    Later on in the interview, Trump added, “We were all set to go into Seattle. Quite frankly, I looked forward to it.”

    Antifa and Black Lives Matter militants seized six blocks of Seattle in early June, dubbing the area an “autonomous zone,” CHAZ. They set up signs telling visitors they were “leaving the United States.” In doing so, they arguably acted like the Paris Commune of 1871, a historical rebellion that Karl Marx looked to as an example of the “Dictatorship of the Proletariat.”

    While Trump called on Gov. Jay Inslee (D-Wash.) and Mayor Durkan to restore order immediately, Inslee and Durkan insisted that it would be “illegal and unconstitutional” to shut down a lawless rebellion. Durkan even insisted CHAZ could be “the summer of love.”

    As Trump continued to threaten to shut down the lawless rebellion, the instigators began to change their tune. Some suggested that they never intended to break away from the United States, that the CHAZ signs had been placed around the area by those evil conservatives trying to undermine them. The “autonomous zone” became “autonomous” no more, and the occupiers renamed the area CHOP, an “occupied protest.”

    The illegal rebellion and occupation derailed much of everyday life for the Seattle residents whose homes and businesses had been seized. Sixteen residents and businesses sued the City of Seattle, alleging that the city failed to protect their rights by not taking action to restore law and order in the CHOP area. In late June, two deadly shootings on two subsequent weekends took the lives of a 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, both of them black.

    Durkan announced that she would break up CHOP after the first weekend of shootings, but she did not send in police to restore order. Only after the second weekend of shootings did she agree to send in the police, who restored order quickly, as armed militants circled in cars with obscured license plates.

    Before Trump’s interview on Thursday, it seemed Durkan had acted because the horrific deaths of two black teens forced her hands. Yet Trump finally revealed his key role in the restoration of law and order.
