“I recently confirmed that on numerous occasions, the intelligence community collected information on U.S. individuals involved in the Trump transition,” Nunes told reporters.
“Details about U.S. persons involved in the incoming administration with little or no apparent foreign intelligence value were widely disseminated in intelligence community reports.”
He said that “additional names” of Trump transition officials had been unmasked in the intelligence reports and indicated that Trump’s communications may have been swept up as well. [snip]
“I want to be clear — none of this surveillance was related to Russia or the investigation of Russian activities or of the Trump team,” Nunes said. [snip]
The information was “legally brought to him by sources who thought we should know it,” Nunes said, though he declined to provide further detail. [snip]
Nunes later told reporters at the White House that he believes the details should “bother” the president and his team because some of the collection seemed “inappropriate.” [snip]
Trump said later Wednesday that he felt “somewhat” vindicated by Nunes’s revelation.
As we previously wrote, the scandal is the “unmasking”. Next Tuesday former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, former CIA Director John Brennan and former acting Attorney General Sally Yates (the one who shirked her duty to defend President Trump’s travel ban in court therefore fired by PDT) will appear at an Intelligence Committee hearing. At some point Comey the Clown will have to return to ‘splain all of this after his assurances that nobody did what was done. So will Barack Obama:
The FBI is not cooperating with the House of Representatives’ investigation into the NSA’s surveillance of the Trump campaign during the 2016 election, the chairman of the U.S. House Permanent Select Committee, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), said today. [snip]
“We don’t actually know yet officially what happened to General Flynn,” Nunes said of how communications from Gen. Flynn’s calls were leaked to the press. “We just know that his name leaked out but we don’t know how it was picked up yet. That was one of the things that we asked for in the March 15th letter, was for the NSA, CIA, and FBI to get us all the unmasking that was done.”
“And I’ll tell you, NSA is being cooperative,” Nunes continued, “but so far the FBI has not told us whether or not they’re going to respond to our March 15th letter, which is now a couple of weeks old.”
Nunes also reported that as of now, he “cannot rule out” President Obama ordering the surveillance.
And contrary to earlier media reports, Nunes clarified that the surveillance was not related to the FBI’s investigation into possible collusion with Russia. This surveillance, he emphasized to reporters, does not “have anything to do with Russia.”
In France a few days ago, the police declared themselves perplexed as to the motives of a killer who shouted something about Allah as he went on with his attempted killings. French police cannot unravel the mystery as to why the Allah shouting killer killed.
FOUR people are dead – including police officer and terrorist – and 20 more injured – after killer mowed down pedestrians on Westminster Bridge before killer is shot attacking police in Parliament grounds
The police reports from London describe the wonton, er, wanton killer as “middle-aged and Asian”. While we merely studied anthropology and are not “experts” at determination of racial or ethnic origin we suspect this killer is not “Asian” as we understand the term.
Skin complexion? Not “black” but most assuredly “dark” of skin. Not the usual complexion most people associate as “Asian” in the sense of Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Indonesian or Chinese. In fact, what can be seen in photos released thus far by the DailyMail, the killer in question had a beard which began at his sideburns and followed a path to the chin and back up to the other sideburn. It’s not a “Fu Manchu” beard we associate with “Asian”. No, this beard is very similar to the one worn by El Sayyid Nosair.
Take a look for yourself: the Mirror too has a photo of the dead killer. We would say more “middle eastern” than “Asian”. Although the killer was driving a Hyundai 4x4n which is an “Asian” car.
Good thing Britain went Brexit as President Trump suggested. Maybe once they regain control of their borders Britain will be Great again. Trump Vindicated.
Two illegal-alien teenagers who were placed in ninth-grade classes at Montgomery County Schools, Maryland, have been arrested and charged with the brutal rape of a 14-year-old girl, and at least one of the boys had a pending deportation order from ICE.
The boys, identified as Henry Sanchez, 18, of Guatemala and Jose Montano, 17, of El Salvador, approached the young girl in the hallway near the gymnasium inside Rockville High School during school hours about 9 a.m. on Thursday.
Montano asked her for sex.
The girl refused — twice.
So the two boys forced her into the boys bathroom and then into a stall.
Montano pushed her into the corner of the stall and began kissing her neck, despite her repeatedly telling him to stop. He unzipped her top, forcibly removed her clothes and the two proceeded to rape her at the same time, then traded positions and raped her again.
She cried out in pain, the report says, but the assault continued. By the time it was over, they had raped her anally, orally and vaginally, according to the police report. [snip]
“18-year-old criminals set to be deported should not be a freshman in our public schools,” stated a post on the website of Help Save Maryland, an organization that opposes illegal immigration.
Maryland is perhaps the most welcoming state for illegal aliens and refugees in the Eastern United States, with Montgomery County the most welcoming county in the state. Maryland gives in-state tuition rates to illegal-alien college students, and its legislature is considering a bill that would declare Maryland the country’s first sanctuary state. Montgomery County is already a sanctuary county, denying 63 ICE requests to turn over illegal-alien criminals last year, Fox News reported.
These policies helped create a culture that allows a young girl to be raped and sodomized in a bathroom stall by two illegal-alien boys, at least one of whom was ordered to be deported, border hawks told WND.
Thus far we have not heard Hillary Clinton denounce this rapists. Thus far we have not seen hordes of women in pussy hats march on Montgomery County demanding justice for this girl. Thus far we have not heard Chelsea Clinton, about to be awarded a “lifetime achievement” prize from Variety, say anything about the Rockville rape.
Some other bleeding heart liberals however, have been “woke”:
Trump vindicated again. How many times has Trump been vindicated even as Big Media declared such vindications impossible before they emerged as fact?
Tomorrow President Donald J. Trump will face a tough challenge. The House of Representatives votes on an “ObamaCare repeal/replace”.
On April 3 the Senate Judiciary Committee will vote on the Gorsuch nomination. On or before April 8 the U.S. Senate will vote on the confirmation of Gorsuch to become Justice Gorsuch of the Supreme Court.
Will President Trump be vindicated again and again? Will President Trump get tired of vindication?
Tomorrow, the President Trump potential vindications continue.
In one “Tweet” limited by a 140 character rule, President Trump took note of North Korea’s character and current posture, expressed his righteous indignation that North Korea’s behavior is unchanged from their abysmal behavior of years, and wraps it all up on with a bright red bow declaring that China is playing a game here because “China has done little to help”. The exclamation point after breaking China is a rain of glitter on a brilliant gem of a tweet.
If brevity is the soul of wit surely President Trump’s tweets are the apex of rhetorical power.
President Trump managed in 140 characters to flex his muscles and declare what to others requires mountains of books to express.
We stand together in facing what was once a regional security challenge, but today North Korea threatens not only its regional neighbors, but the United States and other countries. Efforts toward North Korea to achieve peaceful stability over the last two decades have failed to make us safer. The U.S. and our allies have repeatedly reassured North Korea’s leaders that we seek only peace, stability, and economic prosperity for Northeast Asia. As proof of our intent, America has provided $1.3 billion in assistance to North Korea since 1995. In return, North Korea has detonated nuclear weapons, and dramatically increased its launches of ballistic missiles to threaten America and our allies.
The U.S. commitment to our allies is unwavering. In the face of North Korea’s grave and escalating global threat, it is important for me to consult with our friends, and chart a path that secures the peace. Let me be very clear: the policy of strategic patience has ended. We are exploring a new range of diplomatic, security, and economic measures. All options are on the table. North Korea must understand that the only path to a secure, economically-prosperous future is to abandon its development of nuclear weapons, ballistic missiles, and other weapons of mass destruction.
We call on other regional powers and all nations to join us in demanding the North Korean Government choose a better path and a different future for its people. The United States is committed to supporting the defense of our allies, and we will continue to develop a comprehensive set of capabilities to counter the growing North Korean ballistic missile threat.
That is why the United States and the Republic of Korea decided to take the defensive measure of deploying THAAD Missile Defense System. While we acknowledge China’s opposition, its economic retaliation against South Korea is inappropriate and troubling. We ask China to refrain from such action. Instead, we urge China to address the threat that makes that necessary, that being the escalating threat from North Korea.
Lockheed Martin said Thursday it has finished a 60-kilowatt laser system for the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command and is preparing to hand it over to the Army for further testing. In initial tests, the company achieved 58 kilowatts of power but expects its laser to reach its full potential by the time of its delivery in the next few months.
The laser is what the company calls a “combined fiber” laser beam, bringing together individual lasers to form a single, stronger beam. Lockheed has been testing it at an installation in Bothell, Wash., and plans to ship it to an Army installation in Huntsville, Ala., in the next few months.
“We’re really at the dawn of an era of the utility of laser weapons,” said Robert Afzal, senior fellow for laser and sensor systems at Lockheed Martin. The Army’s specialized military vehicles “can now carry something which is small enough and powerful enough for what we believe will be militarily useful.”
Proponents say lasers could be cheaper than traditional munitions systems because they don’t require expensive projectiles and they don’t need to be reloaded. That could make the system useful in taking down airborne adversaries, such as off-the-shelf drones.
The idea of an off-the-shelf drone fleet commanded by a non-state entity presents new challenges for a global military establishment that has focused for centuries on war with other governments. For example, Gen. David Perkins said this week that a U.S. ally had taken down an adversary’s off-the-shelf quad-copter — which can be purchased online for a few hundred dollars — with a multimillion-dollar Patriot missile.
Mark Gunzinger, a senior fellow at the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments, said: “That’s $3 million to shoot down a three-or-four-hundred-dollar drone. . . . What if you could do that with a beam of light that costs a buck?” [snip]
Lasers “hit targets at the speed of light, they cost almost nothing per shot, and they have an almost unlimited number of times they can be used,” said Loren Thompson, chief operating officer of the nonprofit Lexington Institute, which receives funding from defense firms including Lockheed Martin and Boeing.
Terrorist creeps that use improvised explosive devices that cost a few dollars are an economic problem because the United States has to spend millions or at least thousands to counter their cheap improvisations. That might now change. A couple of cheap zaps from a laser makes killing the creeps economically doable. Drone, schmone, future wars are on their way and the U.S. is getting ready.
Hey, we have an idea. Get the gamers from high school and the pajama boys in their basements to zap zap the creeps in a video game that really kills. Talk about Enders Game, huh? Not our Enders Game, the other Enders Game.
The Navy already has a ship with lasers. Now the Army can have a 60-kilowatt laser that can be carried about and repeatedly used for a few dollars more.
Hey, North Korea creeps (and mostly China but Angela Merkel too!). You’re not dealing with Barack Hussein Obama now. It’s Trump! President Donald J. Trump!
Presumably, among the topics will be ObamaCare repeal and replace. President Trump might also have a few choice words for the Obama appointed federal clown in Hawaii who issued a Temporary Restraining Order on the latest executive order travel ban. The order is bad enough but the reasoning based on the Establishment Clause is entirely ridiculous. Note: before the TRO expires there might just be a new Supreme Court Justice because Neil Gorsuch gets a hearing in the Senate on Monday and maybe just maybe he will get a vote soon.
President Trump has been Trumpnado-ing through today. President Trump in Michigan spoke to automobile company workers, unions, and management. President Trump promised to unshackle the automobile industry in this country and restore it to glory. “Buy American and Hire American” said POTUS with Mostest.
POTUS Mostest Trumpest will also be on Tucker Carlson’s show tonight after an early morning of Tweeting about Rachel Maddow’s disaster Tuesday night on TrumpTaxes. Is it 2018 already?
It’s two trains running. Two trains running along two separate tracks and President Trump ready, willing, and able, to jump from Von Ryan’s Express to the TrumpTrain. President Trump is on Von Ryan’s Express on the healthcare debate for now, but it is very easy to see that President Trump has a very good grasp on the truth in this healthcare debate and might soon jump to the TrumpTrain.
Von Ryan’s Express, TrumpTrain??? There are three must understand truths about the current healthcare debate to be put into the context of everlasting truths of politics (everlasting truth such as that the prime directive for senators and congress-critters is to be re-elected).
Healthcare debate truth #1: ObamaCare is so bad it must and will be repealed and what will replace it will be much better than ObamaCare.
Healthcare debate truth #2: The current GOP public plan to replace ObamaCare is stupid and not very bright on policy and electoral grounds but the likelihood it will pass is very great because President Trump knows how to sell and for senators and House members the next election is always around the corner.
Healthcare debate truth #3: Trust President Trump on ObamaCare repeal and replace because this guy is very smart, knows what he is doing, and wants to truly repeal ObamaCare and replace it with something that provides healthcare, not merely inaccessible health insurance.
* * * * * *
Don’t trust President Trump for the reason that you are a cult member of a fan club that will excuse anything he does and will defend anything he does. Trust President Trump because he is smart, has a game plan to Make America Great Again, and will repeal/replace ObamaCare. Flim-flam con man Barack Obama was a two trains type guy too. But for Obama the two trains he hopped on were personal advancement gravy trains. Those always lead to a train wreak.
So what the Hell is President Trump up to?
On Wednesday, President Trump begins his sell pitch at a big rally. Another rally is scheduled and more are likely to come. President Trump will take to the road to sell something that is not particularly good. Yes, it is better than the ObamaCare America is oppressed by. But um, is it great? Um, no.
So what the Hell is President Trump up to?
What is President Trump up to? Well, President Trump on Von Ryan’s Express has to demonstrate he is making a good faith effort to pass the current bill the House leadership under Paul Ryan has written before Trump moves to change it. That bill is a mess on several levels but President Trump has to make a good faith effort to pass it so that he can say “I tried to pass this” just before he jumps to the TrumpTrain.
President Trump knows the mess that is the health insurance plan on Von Ryan’s Express. President Trump knows it is a mess because he is listening to the critics of the plan – critics who supported him during his election bid. Still President Trump, like a good businessman, is going forward with the Ryan express package to see how it plays out. It’s an opening bid.
Recall, how the Von Ryan Express Train tracks. It is a three phase plan. Phase I is to pass the current health insurance bill via the “Reconciliation” process. Using “reconciliation” to overcome the artificial 60 vote majority necessary to pass a bill through the Senate means that supposedly only matters of a strict budgetary nature get to be in the bill.
Phase II, is one we will discuss later.
Phase III, is the mirage that at some point the Obama Dimocrats will agree to provide the 60 vote majority necessary to pass all the really good stuff in health care reform, such as tort reform and the ability for Americans to buy insurance across state lines thereby bringing competition into the reform process.
* * * * * *
Before we return to “what the Hell is President Trump up to?” let’s deal in this section of our analysis with the dull policy stuff. Hey, it’s only life and death, not the fun stuff we like in politics. But the policy stuff does matter. If you get bored with policy, just skip this section.
What’s the problem with the Von Ryan Express plan? First and foremost, the author. Paul Ryan. Let’s all agree that Paul Ryan is a male Nancy Pelousy. That’s unfair. Paul Ryan is smart and Paul Ryan is kinda cute unlike Nancy Pelousy. But like Nancy Pelousy, Paul Ryan could not sell lemonade in August heat, shovels in winter pre-snow storm, nor life insurance on board the Titanic in it’s last hours. Indeed the more Paul Ryan talks, the more likely the Paul Ryan train goes off the tracks.
Earlier this week the Congressional Budget Office issued it’s assessment of Ryan’s health insurance scheme. Ryan began to appear on television to laud the CBO report as wonderful. Everyone else in the administration spoke with a degree of intelligence and essentially blasted the CBO report. Paul Ryan? Well, something’s not right with that boy.
Compare and contrast Paul Ryan and Newt Gingrich’s response to the CBO report:
If that’s an example of Paul Ryan “excited” we feel sorry for his wife. Paul Ryan, blue eyes aside, simply is at a par with Nancy Pelousy when it comes to believability. We don’t doubt he knows what he is talking about, but his interest appears to be to demonstrate he knows what he is talking about instead of convincing the public that he is telling the truth. Something is just not right with that boy, the way he talks and talks a little too fast and slippery.
Bottom line is that best message came from Newt. Even Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney made a better pitch than Ryan on the hostile Morning Joe show:
Mulvaney is right: Care is what matters, not coverage. It’s a critique we made of ObamaCare since 2009. ObamaCare fed the health insurance companies money forced from Americans via the coercive force of government but the insurance deductibles were so high many Americans could not access the insurance they paid dearly for.
Avik Roy, of Forbes Magazine, frequently agreed with points we made about ObamaCare. Avik Roy makes the case much better than Paul Ryan for why the CBO report is kinda useless and sorta good news:
Believe It Or Not, CBO’s Score Of House GOP Obamacare Replacement Is Better Than Expected
The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office has estimated that 24 million fewer people will have health insurance by 2026 under the House GOP plan to replace Obamacare. That projection is unsurprising, and quite likely overstated. But what is surprising about the CBO report is the ways in which it makes the GOP bill look better than expected, and how it points to how the bill can be improved. [snip]
The first thing to know about the CBO is that it has long had problems modeling how a competitive, individual insurance market would work. This is reflected in their frequently revised estimates as to how many people would enroll in Obamacare’s insurance exchanges.
As the below chart shows, in 2010, when the Affordable Care Act was passed, CBO estimated that 21 million people would enroll in the ACA exchanges in 2016. The actual number was closer to 10 million. Even now, CBO believes that 18 to 19 million people will soon be enrolled in the exchanges, when in fact enrollment is degrading under current law, and will likely end up stabilizing at about 10 to 11 million. [snip]
This chart is relevant to our discussion of the GOP plan in two ways. First, it shows that the CBO is far from infallible; indeed, its projections of ACA exchange enrollment have been wildly off.
Second, as CBO notes in the first paragraph of its report on the AHCA, “CBO used its March 2016 baseline with adjustments for subsequently enacted legislation, which underlies the resolution, as the benchmark to measure the cost of the legislation.” That baseline is off by 7 to 8 million in future exchange enrollment; hence, the impact of the AHCA is also off by the same amount.
An even bigger problem is that the CBO has long believed that Obamacare’s individual mandate has near-magical powers to compel people to buy health insurance. There is little evidence to support this claim.
The Ryan plan, AHCA, gets mathed by Avik Roy. Roy checks out the numbers. Roy understands the CBO is a mess that does not know its ass from its mouth. The CBO has made 24 million people mistakes before. Roy has numbers upon numbers to make his case. Roy declares the CBO estimates on who loses coverage might be off by 19 million people.
Avik Roy has many prescriptions for what ails Paul Ryan’s plan. A lot of those prescriptions are tinkering with a Rube Goldberg contraption, but unfortunately America’s health care system, or rather health insurance system is a Rube Goldberg contraption.
The bill’s arbitrary 30 percent surcharge for those who buy coverage outside of open enrollment might actually make the risk pool less stable, and ought to be replaced by a much more flexible regulatory regime.
And we haven’t even gotten to the AHCA’s profound fiscal effects. The bill would cut taxes by $1.2 trillion, and spending by $880 billion, for a net deficit reduction of $337 billion. And that’s before you take into account the macroeconomic effects that those tax cuts would have on economic growth, and thereby on greater tax revenues.
Over ensuing decades, the fiscal impact would be even greater, because the bill entails the most significant effort at entitlement reform in American history. Incoherent GOP hard-liners like Rand Paul, who claim that the AHCA is a “new entitlement,” are displaying their unseriousness about a bill that reduces federal spending by more than $2 trillion over the next 20 years.
With all this wonderfulness, why so much upset? Here’s InsureBlog:
Republicans’ latest attempt to change Obamacare is nothing more than misdirection. It replaces “subsidies” with “tax credits”, continues Medicaid expansion until an election year (when nothing gets done), and keeps the most costly items such as guaranteed issue, community rating, and no pre-existing conditions exclusion in place.
It eliminates the individual mandate and creates a new continuous coverage rule allowing insurers to charge 30% higher premiums for up to 12 months to those who have a break in insurance coverage greater than 63 days. The new rule, like the mandate tax, has no teeth.
Speaking of taxes, it eliminates almost $600 million over ten years – which is a good thing. Except for the fact that over half of that amount does nothing to reduce or influence costs of health care or health insurance. More than half ($275 million) is going back to high income earners who are currently paying more in taxes for Medicare and investment income. We should also note these two taxes aren’t indexed so as incomes rise more of us would pay these over time.
For Medicaid, it would roll back the enhanced matching rate for the expansion population. This has serious implications for states who fell hook, line, and sinker for the bait of government funding that they knew wasn’t financially sustainable. [snip]
We should have known this was going to be a poo-poo platter. Anything short of full repeal – which takes 60 senators to accomplish – is nothing more than lip service.
HH: So what can be done? I’ve talked to the Speaker, I’ve got to the Leader. I’ve talked to Cathy McMorris Rodgers is on today, Mick Mulvaney, Tom Price. They all say it’s a three-step dance because of the Senate reconciliation rule. So you know those rules. Working within the rules, how can the Senate improve its bill, or how can the House send to the Senate a bill that fits within the guardrails of reconciliation and allows for 51 votes that improves the individual market?
TC: Hugh, there is no three-phase process. There is no three-step plan. That is just political talk. It’s just politicians engaging in spin. This is why. Step one is a bill that can pass with 51 votes in the Senate. That’s what we’re working on right now. Step two, as yet unwritten regulations by Tom Price, which is going to be subject to court challenge, and therefore, perhaps the whims of the most liberal judge in America. But step three, some mythical legislation in the future that is going to garner Democratic support and help us get over 60 votes in the Senate. If we had those Democratic votes, we wouldn’t need three steps. We would just be doing that right now on this legislation altogether. That’s why it’s so important that we get this legislation right, because there is no step three. And step two is not completely under our control.
And there’s the rub. Are there three steps? Is there only a two-step? Is there only one step?
* * * * * *
So, what the Hell is President Trump up to? Is President Trump doing a three step waltz, a lively little country two-step, or the singular Trump stomp? Got a dance card?
President Trump has more than a dance card. President Trump has a Trump card, or two.
In an Oval Office meeting featuring leaders of conservative groups that already lining up against House Republicans’ plan to repeal and replace Obamacare, President Donald Trump revealed his plan in the event the GOP effort doesn’t succeed: Allow Obamacare to fail and let Democrats take the blame, sources at the gathering told CNN.
In his meetings with conservative leaders President Trump has repeatedly declared that he is open to negotiations. The Medicaid funding provision until 2020? That might be hauled to 2018. The “tax credits” for lower income people some see as subsidies? That might be a tougher negotiation because former Freedom Caucus member Mike Mulvaney wants that to stay.
Mike Mulvaney now works for President Trump but he has lots of credibility with his former Freedom Caucus members, who are the fiercest critics of the Ryan plan. But any negotiations with “conservatives” might lead to trouble with “moderates”:
In addition to Medicaid changes, some White House officials are also pushing for the inclusion of provisions making it easier to buy health care across state lines. Senate budget rules, however, bar the upper chamber from including on a fast-tracked bill any provisions that don’t have a significant budgetary effect.
Rep. Dave Brat on Monday told POLITICO conservatives were asking the White House to back these kinds of free-market provisions. The Virginia Republican said the Freedom Caucus is also encouraging Trump officials to press for provisions that would enact into law any deregulations Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price plans to make administratively for the insurance market.
“Trump ran on this competition across state lines, bringing the price down, and so, that is the huge piece that, I think, if we can get that in the bill, then I think we can make some progress and I think get a lot of people to yes,” Brat said.
So while GOP leaders, including Speaker Paul Ryan, adamantly support the idea of allowing people to purchase insurance across state lines, they don’t think it can be included on the replacement bill under Senate rules. [snip]
The manager’s amendments are likely to bring additional savings, according to the White House officials, and would help the plan get through the House, where the Freedom Caucus has lined up opposition against the plan. But it would likely make passage in the Senate more difficult, several Capitol Hill officials said. That’s because many Senate Republicans — and more than a few House GOP lawmakers — hail from states that took the Medicaid expansion, and they’re unlikely to support a quick phase-out of the expanded program. [snip]
Leadership sources, however, have not ruled out changes to the bill altogether, and many senior House GOP sources believe there might be a manager’s amendment. But they have to ensure the changes will get several conservatives to “yes” if it’s actually made, while maintaining moderate Republican support. They can only afford to lose 21 Republican votes.
Oy vey! What a mess. Game over! Nothing can save this. It’s over for Trump, again. Well, there are some Trump cards still left to be played.
Remember “Phase II”? Phase I is the reconciliation process to pass the turd. Phase III is the delusion of goodies at the end of the road. But we never discussed Phase II. Phase II is the Trump card no matter what happens in Phase I. With Phase II, President Trump can force reality onto everybody as the 2018 elections draw close, ever closer every day. Phase II is the Trump card:
How Trump can use Obamacare to kill Obamacare
The same executive authority the Obama administration used to implement the law may now be used to dismantle it. [snip]
“For me, it’s a mix of irony and schadenfreude,” says Josh Blackman, a law professor who’s written two books that criticized the Obama administration’s implementation of the law. “I’ve warned for years that, with a new president in the White House, the exact same powers could be used for different purposes. That’s what we’re seeing now, to a T.”
Trump’s order, which encourages Health and Human Services, the IRS and other agencies to work toward dismantling the ACA, doesn’t confer any new powers on the executive branch. But Trump explicitly instructs his agencies to use their existing powers to weaken the law “to the maximum extent permitted by law,” regardless of congressional action to repeal it.
That could be devastating to Obamacare because the Obama administration relied on its executive authority to set up the law.
“Its implementation depended critically — and depends critically — on rules and guidance that HHS and other agencies have put out,” says Nicholas Bagley, a University of Michigan law professor who supports the ACA. “There are literally thousands of decisions that had to be made” by the administration — and “any decision that the Obama administration had the discretion to make, in principle, the Trump administration can revisit.”
A big, complex law always requires a lot of the details to be filled in through regulation, but that was particularly true of Obamacare. [snip]
Many of the law’s most controversial elements, like which Americans would be exempt from the mandate requiring most Americans to purchase insurance coverage, were administration decisions. Obama’s HHS secretary was also empowered to flesh out the important details about the benefits that Obamacare insurance plans were required to cover, from mental health to maternity care. Even Healthcare.gov — the much-maligned website that turned into the linchpin of Obamacare enrollment efforts — was built out through executive authority.
The vast, and at times, legally questionable decisions undertaken by the Obama administration may also set precedent for the Trump administration to do the exact same thing. Both Blackman and Bagley agree the administration’s 2013 decision to delay Obamacare’s employer mandate was unlawful; House Republicans even sued, although their challenge was thrown out in court. Trump could now cite that delay as precedent for declining to enforce provisions that he dislikes.
The Trump administration could also issue a slew of waivers to exempt Americans from the ACA’s individual mandate — although the Obama administration already broadened those exemptions in 2013, after the political outcry from Americans whose plans were canceled because they didn’t meet Obamacare criteria.
The “‘like it, keep it’ fiasco” set a precedent for Trump too, says Bagley.
At the time, the administration said it would give hardship waivers to Americans who had difficulties paying for coverage under the ACA. But “if you define the hardship as that, then every American is facing higher premiums because of the ACA, one way or another,” says Blackman. “Obamacare is itself the hardship.”
House Republicans also sued and won an initial ruling over the Obama administration’s payments to subsidize health care costs such as co-pays and deductibles for Obamacare enrollees under a certain income level. A federal court agreed the funds were illegally appropriated; the Obama administration appealed that decision. But Trump could discontinue the appeal, and hold that over Democrats in negotiations to replace the law: If he chooses to discontinue those payments, health insurers — which would be on the hook for those payments even if the government funding dried up — would probably flee the markets or jack up prices next year. Millions of ACA customers would likely see their premiums spike and their plans become unaffordable.
“If Trump were to stop the cost-sharing payments, he could send the individual insurance markets into an immediate tailspin,” says Bagley. “It would be an extraordinary hit.”
So what do we think happens? What are the Trump cards?
We believe that Phase I, amended by a managers amendment that will improve the bill, will pass the House and Senate because failure to do so would threaten the reelection of too many Republicans (and Dims in red states too). So the Republican opposition to Phase I in both the House and Senate will fail and Phase I of repeal/replace will happen.
If we are wrong and Phase I does fail or looks like it is about to fail, President Trump can implement Phase II and thereby force a revisit of Phase I by one and all – Democrats responsible for ObamaCare and the current mess as well as Republicans. President Trump can basically gut ObamaCare like a fish via Secretary Price.
President Trump can basically agree to the federal court ruling and stop immediately the cost sharing program and thereby destroy ObamaCare with the excuse that he is obeying a federal court order. End of the world ensues for Obama Dimocrats.
There is another Trump card to play: blow up the filibuster and pass whatever you want with 51 votes in the Senate. Better to blow up the soon to be destroyed filibuster in year one of Trump than year 4 or 8. The sooner the better.
“Under the Budget Act of 1974, which is what governs reconciliation, it is the presiding officer, the vice president of the United States, who rules on what’s permissible on reconciliation and what is not. [snip]
Cruz said this process would allow Republicans to include a number of provisions that would make the health care reform bill much more attractive to conservatives.
For example, Cruz notes that Republicans could “repeal all of the insurance regulations in Obamacare that have increased premiums,” in particular one that decreased competition by preventing insurers from selling across state lines.
Any more Trump cards? Well, under immigration reform President Trump could invite doctors and medical professionals from around the world to come to America and bring down costs. You know that ol’ law of supply and demand.
As Rahm Emanuel said to Barack Obama “never let a good crisis go to waste.”
Joy! Americans finally have the battle we needed. Finally, after lots of tactical kisses and hugs of gangster Obama, President Donald J. Trump called out the stink named Barack Obama.
Now, finally, the proxy wars are over. That Trump v. Hillary nonsense is over. Hillary Clinton turned herself into Obama’s bitch, Obama’s whore, the moment she sought to win election as the “Obama Third Term”. Trump went after Hillary. But left mostly unscathed – Obama. Yet it was and is Obama, his works, and his gangster henchmen, that Donald J. Trump must confront and destroy if Trump is ever to Make America Great Again.

In South Africa after the era of Apartheid there was a “truth commission” to uncover the hidden past. America desperately needs a Truth Commission to investigate the crimes of Barack Obama and his gangster government.
Three brothers who managed office information technology for members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and other lawmakers were abruptly relieved of their duties on suspicion that they accessed congressional computers without permission.
Brothers Abid, Imran, and Jamal Awan were barred from computer networks at the House of Representatives Thursday, The Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group has learned.
Three members of the intelligence panel and five members of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs were among the dozens of members who employed the suspects on a shared basis. The two committees deal with many of the nation’s most sensitive issues and documents, including those related to the war on terrorism.
Also among those whose computer systems may have been compromised is Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the Florida Democrat who was previously the target of a disastrous email hack when she served as chairman of the Democratic National Committee during the 2016 campaign.
The brothers are suspected of serious violations, including accessing members’ computer networks without their knowledge and stealing equipment from Congress.
Jamal handled IT for Rep. Joaquin Castro, a Texas Democrat who serves on both the intelligence and foreign affairs panels. [snip]
Jamal also worked for Louisiana Democrat Rep. Cedric Richmond, who is on the Committee on Homeland Security.
Imran worked for Reps. Andre Carson, an Indiana Democrat, and Jackie Speier, a California Democrat. Both are members of the intelligence committee, and their spokesmen did not respond to TheDCNF’s requests for comment. [snip]
Then-Rep. Tammy Duckworth, an Illinois Democrat, employed Abid for IT work in 2016. She was a member of House committees dealing with the armed services, oversight, and Benghazi. Duckworth was elected to the Senate in November, 2016. Abid has a prior criminal record and a bankruptcy.
Abid also worked for Rep. Lois Frankel, a Florida Democrat who is member of the foreign affairs committee. [snip]
Abid, Imran and Jamal have all shared a house in Lorton, Virginia, that is owned by Hina R. Alvi. Alvi is a female House IT employee who works for many of the same members as the three brothers, as well as the House Democratic Caucus.
The three brothers have been involved in crimes, “multiple lawsuits”, “multiple mortgages”, and other dubious financial activity. The three Muslim brothers, one of whom is 22 years of age and began work in the House of Representatives when he was 20, somehow survived the supposedly onerous background checks that jobs which involve the national security require.
The three brothers could easily have sold top secret information for cash. Not that they needed it if they were legitimate normal workers. The 20 year old for instance was paid $160,000 a year (three times the average for IT staff). Abid got $161,000 and Imran scored $165,000.
Rogue congressional staffers took $100,000 from an Iraqi politician while they had administrator-level access to the House of Representatives’ computer network, according to court documents examined by The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Investigative Group.
The money was a loan from Dr. Ali al-Attar, an Iraqi political figure, and was funneled through a company with “impossible”-to-decipher financial transactions that the congressional information technology (IT) staffers controlled. [snip]
Investigators found that congressional information was being copied to an off-site server and they suspect the brothers of improperly accessing information and stealing congressional property. [snip]
Soon after Imran began working for members of Congress, Imran’s and Abid’s wives — Hina Alvi and Natalia Sova — also began receiving congressional paychecks, TheDCNF found. Imran’s employers included two members of the intelligence committee, Indiana Democrat Rep. Andre Carson and California Democrat Rep. Jackie Speier.
By 2009, the family was simultaneously managing a full-time car dealership in Virginia, with Abid running day-to-day operations after contributing $250,000 in startup cash. It was called Cars International A, LLC, referred to as “CIA” in court documents.
Imran boasted unusual clout among House Democrats, and was even pictured conversing with former President Bill Clinton. After Rao Abbas, who was owed money by the dealership, threatened to sue amid allegations of deception and theft, Abbas appeared on the congressional payroll and received $250,000 in taxpayer payments.
They attended car auctions during the week while they were supposedly working at the nation’s Capitol for Obama Dimocrats. They did not pay their debts, according to court records, even though their combined salaries added up to over half a million dollars a year.
Did the three brothers leak the DNC emails, not the Russians, as has so often been claimed by Barack Obama thugs who seek to protect their Muslim friends and blame Russia as their favored distraction? Did anyone stop to think that young Muslim brothers, their wives, and assorted Muslim friends, with dubious backgrounds and financial schemes, might be a problem to our national security? We need a Truth Commission.
It was Obama Dimocrats in the House that employed the three Muslim brothers. It is the Obama Dimocrats that thus far Big Media won’t discuss. It is Obama Dimocrats that thus far have escaped investigation. Why did Obama Dimocrats hire these dubious characters? Why did it take Obama Dimocrats so long to fire the three brothers after their activities became known? We need a Truth Commission, there’s a national security swamp to drain:
A MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD SECURITY BREACH IN CONGRESS
There’s a national security risk swamp to drain.
Last year, eight members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence issued a demand that their staffers be granted access to top secret classified information.
The signatories to the letter were Andre Carson, Luis Guiterez, Jim Himes, Terri Sewell, Jackie Speier, Mike Quigley, Eric Swalwell and Patrick Murphy. All the signatories were Democrats. Some had a history of attempting to undermine national security.
Two of them have been linked to an emerging security breach.
The office of Andre Carson, the second Muslim in Congress, had employed Imran Awan. As did the offices of Jackie Speier and Debbie Wasserman Schultz; to whom the letter had been addressed.
Imran Awan and his two brothers, Jamal and Abid, are at the center of an investigation that deals with, among other things, allegations of illegal access. [snip]
Jamal was also employed by Cedric Richmond’s office. Richmond sits on the Committee on Homeland Security and on its Terrorism and Cybersecurity subcommittee. He is a ranking member of the latter subcommittee. [snip]
Carson is the second Muslim in Congress and the first Muslim on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and, more critically, is the ranking member on its Emerging Threats Subcommittee. He is also a member of the Department of Defense Intelligence and Overhead Architecture Subcommittee.
The Emerging Threats Subcommittee, of which Carson is a ranking member, is responsible for much of counterterrorism oversight. It is the worst possible place for a man with Carson’s credentials. [snip]
Islamists have funded Carson’s career to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars. [snip]
Andre Carson shared the stage at a CAIR banquet with Sirraj Wahaj: an unindicted co-conspirator in the World Trade Center bombing who had once declared,” You don’t get involved in politics because it’s the American thing to do. You get involved in politics because politics are a weapon to use in the cause of Islam.” CAIR itself had been named an unindicted co-conspirator in terror finance. [snip]
Why were the Awan brothers, one of whom had a criminal record, even allowed to work in such a sensitive position? How did the personnel suspected in this case pass background checks? And was any classified information compromised as a result of these alleged breaches? [snip]
Congressional Republicans must take the lead in cleaning house. If they cannot do so, President Trump must step in. [snip]
The swamp that allowed Andre Carson and the Awan brothers inappropriate access must be drained.
To distract from the Muslim threats inside the American capital building aided and abetted by Obama Dimocrats every device of distraction has been deployed. Big Media ignores the Muslim Brother-hoods inside the highest level of American government and concocts wild schemes about Russia at every turn. Thanks to the canny and strong President Trump the schemes and plots will only serve to highlight the threats to America.
* * * * * *
Yesterday, Big Media was consumed in outrage because once again President Trump spoke the truth. At first we did not think much of the feigned outrage because the allegations by President Trump are all so obviously true. The only thing that surprised us about what President Trump wrote is why it took so long to state. President Trump finally confronted gangster Barack Obama with what is glaringly true and Big Media went nuts. First there were the President Trump Tweets:
President Donald Trump on Saturday accused Barack Obama of tapping his phones during last year’s White House campaign, charges that his predecessor denied as “simply false.”
“I’d bet a good lawyer could make a great case out of the fact that President Obama was tapping my phones in October, just prior to Election!” Trump wrote on Twitter, without providing evidence of the explosive charge.
“How low has President Obama gone to tapp (sic) my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!” he wrote in another tweet, referring to the political scandal that toppled president Richard Nixon in 1974. [snip]
The two men initially adopted a cordial tone as Trump took office, though the president has stepped up accusations against Obama in recent weeks, blaming his predecessor for being behind damaging leaks to journalists. [snip]
Trump, who has accused his political foes of conducting “a total witch hunt,” on Saturday directed his Twitter tirade at his Democratic predecessor.
“Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found,” Trump wrote a day after departing Washington for a weekend getaway at his Mar-a-Lago Florida resort for the fourth time in five weeks.
The president compared the alleged action to Senator Joe McCarthy’s campaign in the 1950s to root out supposed Communists and sympathizers, which was marked by innuendo and abusive investigations.
“Is it legal for a sitting President to be ‘wire tapping’ a race for president prior to an election? Turned down by court earlier. A NEW LOW!” Trump said, again providing no proof of Obama’s supposed efforts to seek a court order to spy on the then-candidate.
Big Media pretended to be shocked. But President Trump’s allegations are clearly true. There was surveillance of the Trump campaign which Obama had to know about if not directly approve or initiate.
Trump hater Mark Levin laid out the evidence for why everything President Trump accused gangster Barack Obama of is true:
We recall last summer when Big Media reports about computers in Trump Tower tied to Russian intelligence blasted across the airwaves. The reports collapsed in face of reality. We remember that all too well. Yet somehow Big Media forgot last summer. Fortunately Mark Levin mapped out the timeline:
Levin called Obama’s effort “police state” tactics, and suggested that Obama’s actions, rather than conspiracy theories about alleged Russian interference in the presidential election to help Trump, should be the target of congressional investigation.
Drawing on sources including the New York Times and the Washington Post, Levin described the case against Obama so far, based on what is already publicly known. The following is an expanded version of that case, including events that Levin did not mention specifically but are important to the overall timeline.
1. June 2016: FISA request. The Obama administration files a request with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA) to monitor communications involving Donald Trump and several advisers. The request, uncharacteristically, is denied. [snip]
4. October: FISA request. The Obama administration submits a new, narrow request to the FISA court, now focused on a computer server in Trump Tower suspected of links to Russian banks. No evidence is found — but the wiretaps continue, ostensibly for national security reasons, Andrew McCarthy at National Review later notes. The Obama administration is now monitoring an opposing presidential campaign using the high-tech surveillance powers of the federal intelligence services. [snip]
6. January: Obama expands NSA sharing. As Michael Walsh later notes, and as the New York Times reports, the outgoing Obama administration “expanded the power of the National Security Agency to share globally intercepted personal communications with the government’s 16 other intelligence agencies before applying privacy protections.” The new powers, and reduced protections, could make it easier for intelligence on private citizens to be circulated improperly or leaked.
7. January: Times report. The New York Timesreports, on the eve of Inauguration Day, that several agencies — the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Treasury Department are monitoring several associates of the Trump campaign suspected of Russian ties. Other news outlets also report the exisentence of “a multiagency working group to coordinate investigations across the government,” though it is unclear how they found out, since the investigations would have been secret and involved classified information.
8. February: Mike Flynn scandal. Reports emerge that the FBI intercepted a conversation in 2016 between future National Security Adviser Michael Flynn — then a private citizen — and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. The intercept supposedly was part of routine spying on the ambassador, not monitoring of the Trump campaign. The FBI transcripts reportedly show the two discussing Obama’s newly-imposed sanctions on Russia, though Flynn earlier denied discussing them. Sally Yates, whom Trump would later fire as acting Attorney General for insubordination, is involved in the investigation. In the end, Flynn resigns over having misled Vice President Mike Pence (perhaps inadvertently) about the content of the conversation.
9. February: Times claims extensive Russian contacts. The New York Timescites “four current and former American officials” in reporting that the Trump campaign had “repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials. The Trump campaign denies the claims — and the Times admits that there is “no evidence” of coordination between the campaign and the Russians. The White House and some congressional Republicans begin to raise questions about illegal intelligence leaks. [snip]
In summary: the Obama administration sought, and eventually obtained, authorization to eavesdrop on the Trump campaign; continued monitoring the Trump team even when no evidence of wrongdoing was found; then relaxed the NSA rules to allow evidence to be shared widely within the government, virtually ensuring that the information, including the conversations of private citizens, would be leaked to the media.
Levin called the effort a “silent coup” by the Obama administration and demanded that it be investigated.
What President Trump wrote in his Tweets is entirely true and unsurprising, no matter what corrupt liars such as James Clapper say.
New York Times Details How Obama Administration SABOTAGED Trump
In yet another lengthy hit-piece constructed around accusations from unnamed sources, innuendo, and repetition of previous unconfirmed allegations, the New York Times details (and celebrates) the Obama administration deliberately trying to sabotage the incoming president by disseminating intelligence information throughout the federal government, as well as to foreign governments.
In laudatory terms, the Times describes the way in which the outgoing administration “scrambled to spread” potentially damaging information related to possible nefarious contact between Trump and his associates and the Russians, despite having no concrete evidence about the content of any of the alleged contact. [snip]
In the Obama administration’s last days, some White House officials scrambled to spread information about Russian efforts to undermine the presidential election — and about possible contacts between associates of President-elect Donald J. Trump and Russians — across the government. Former American officials say they had two aims: to ensure that such meddling isn’t duplicated in future American or European elections, and to leave a clear trail of intelligence for government investigators.
The Times explains that the Obama operatives deliberately attempted to keep the information at “relatively low classification level[s]” by processing the raw intelligence into analyses designed to have “as wide a readership as possible.”
The aim by Obama, via the New York Times was to leak this misinformation to American allies. But even the New York Times admitted there was no evidence of wrongdoing – by Trump.
This was all pretty much accepted conventional wisdom by anyone watching this Russia crap. It was obvious that there was some dirty surveillance of the Trump campaign by Obama using some fairly dirty pretexts to justify undermining an American election. This was all obvious. We recall a few weeks ago the story about Obama scheming to sabotage Trump:
How Obama is scheming to sabotage Trump’s presidency
When former President Barack Obama said he was “heartened” by anti-Trump protests, he was sending a message of approval to his troops. Troops? Yes, Obama has an army of agitators — numbering more than 30,000 — who will fight his Republican successor at every turn of his historic presidency. And Obama will command them from a bunker less than two miles from the White House. [snip]
He’s doing it through a network of leftist nonprofits led by Organizing for Action.
It’s not much of a leap to see that Obama’s attempts to sabotage President Trump started shortly after President Trump’s glorious victory in November. At the time Barack Obama occupied the White House and it was there the stories about Russia and Trump came to creation:
New York Times: Obama Set Up Anti-Trump Russia Conspiracy Theory
Barack Obama used his remaining days in office to fabricate a Russia conspiracy and NYT spins it as an attempt to get the truth out.
Of course, rather than admit the creation of an anti-Trump Russia conspiracy theory, the New York Times headline claims Obama and his minions “Rushed to Preserve Intelligence of Russian Election Hacking.” Notice that they don’t claim anyone rushed to preserve evidence of such hacking, because then they would have to explain why it disappeared. There was nothing to preserve but allegations. [snip]
In other words, this misinformation campaign wasn’t only from rogue anonymous intelligence bureaucrats. It was from Obama himself—at the same time he was pushing BS clichés about how a “democracy” was able to enact a “peaceful transition of power” he was arranging for the CIA coup.
According to Favreau, the only thing that Obama is really denying is that he ordered the attack on our elections, but clearly the attack took place. And can anyone doubt that Obama henchmen did what Obama wanted? Of course not. This was a political attack on a presidential campaign orchestrated by the White House.
Yes, There Could Be Serious Legal Problems if Obama Admin Involved in Illegal Surveillance [snip]
President Trump recently tweeted claiming that former President Obama wiretapped him during his campaign. One can only imagine how nuts the media would have gone if the roles had been reversed: President Trump wiretapping either Obama or the Clintons, though his DOJ could have authority to do just that given the expansive leaks of intelligence information by Obama and Clinton supporters the last few months. Heck, he could wiretap the media at this point, legally and legitimately, as the sources of these unlawful leaks, for which Obama himself set precedent. Do liberals understand what Pandora’s Box Obama opened up by Obama using the powers of the NSA, CIA and FBI to spy on his political opponents? Even Nixon never did that.
If the stories are correct, Obama or his officials might even face prosecution. [snip]
FISA can only be used for “foreign intelligence information.” Now that sounds broad, but is in fact very limited under the law. The only “foreign intelligence information” allowed as a basis for surveillance is information necessary to protect the United States against actual or potential “grave” “hostile” attack, war-like sabotage or international terror. Second, it can only be used to eavesdrop on conversations where the parties to the conversation are a foreign power or an agent of a foreign power. An agent of a foreign power cannot be a United States person unless they are knowingly involved in criminal espionage. No warrant is allowed on that person unless a FISA court finds probable cause the United States person is knowingly engaged in criminal espionage. Even then, if it involves a United States person, special steps must be taken to “minimize the acquisition and retention, and prohibit the dissemination, of non publicly available information concerning un-consenting United States persons.”
This includes procedures that require they never identify the person, or the conversation, being surveilled, to the public where that information is not evidence of a particular crime. Third, the kind of information sought concerns solely information about a pending or actual attack on the country. That is why the law limits itself to sabotage incidents involving war, not any form or kind of “sabotage,” explicitly limiting itself to those acts identified in section 105 of Title 18 of the United States Code.
This bring us to Watergate-on-Steroids, or #ObamaGate.
That’s a long article well worth reading in its entirety. Bottom line is that even if the surveillance of the Trump campaign in any way was undertaken under legal cover, the danger to Barack Obama and Obama’s gangsters is real. This is especially true once the Sessions team is in place. And… you might not need the Sessions team if this assessment is correct:
Democrats may regret Sessions’ recusal, as his replacement is a mini-Sessions: a long-respected, a-political, highly ethical prosecutor, Dana Boente, whose reputation is well-warranted from his service at the Tax Division, and who won’t be limited by any perceived ties to Trump, given his prior appointment by Obama. Obama himself appeared scared of Boente, as he removed Boente from the successor-to-Sessions position during the lame-duck part of Obama’s presidency, but Trump restored Boente to that role earlier this month. Democrats may get the investigation they wanted, but it may be their own that end up named in the indictment.
Is President Donald J. Trump blameless in all this? No. President Trump does have questions to answer, but not the questions Big Media is asking. President Trump was and is entirely too kind and unforgiving.
RELEASE THEM: Obama/Iran Nuke Deal Secrets Are NOT Classified, Just Kept From You
The leaders of the Islamic Republic are frightened. They face an American national security team that knows a lot about them, and, unlike the Obama administration, strongly dislikes them.
General Michael Flynn’s book was an underground hit in Farsi, and the quadrumvirate of Pompeo, Mattis, McMaster, and Kelly show no signs of wanting to pursue the shameful strategic alliance that Obama forged with Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. On the contrary, all four stress Iran’s role as chief sponsor of international terror. All four know the ayatollahs are deadly serious when they lead chants of “Death to America.”
The Iranian leaders knew that they could get away with murder as long as Obama was in charge, and that Obama’s administration would protect large parts of the agreements between the two countries. Yet of late, we have heard Iranian officials warning us not to make public the secret elements of the nuclear “deal.” [snip]
We are entitled to ask for the release of the secret arrangements with Iran. If the citizens don’t know what Obama/Kerry/Rhodes/Jarrett agreed to, then the whole “debate” over what Trump should do with regard to Iran is essentially meaningless.
The Iranians don’t want us to know what’s in the secret-but-unclassified documents, and the Obama crowd’s apparent agreement — as usual — with Iran on this issue underlines the importance of making them public.
Recently Secretary of State Tillerson has made moves to get the U.S. out of the Iran nuclear deal so that might be part of the President Trump plan. Whatever is going on there, Americans deserve to know what Obama did and when Obama did it. We need answers.
We need lots of answers to lots of questions. Perhaps now we will get them thanks to President Trump. President Trump finally understands what he is up against. It is Barack Obama and the leftist totalitarians who seek to destroy America and now finally we might get the questions asked and the answers to those questions answered:
Trump White House Orders Investigation of Alleged Illegal Wiretapping by Obama Administration on Trump Tower
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer announced Sunday the Trump administration is requesting an investigation into the abuse of power by the Obama administration.
(1/4) Reports concerning potentially politically motivated investigations immediately ahead of the 2016 election are very troubling.
President Donald J. Trump tried to move forward with his agenda and let Obama wallow in his misery. That was a strategic and tactical mistake. Barack Obama is a cancer on the presidency and on America. President Donald J. Trump must remove the cancer in its entirety.
The Russia nonsense? All the noise about Russia has been a way for Barack Obama to undermine President Trump.
The undisputed facts are that Russia did not influence at all the big primary election fight between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. The undisputed facts are that Hillary Clinton, because of her own personal failures and stupidity, could barely defeat an old socialist coot who wasn’t even a Democrat for the nomination of her party. Recall that Hillary Clinton could barely beat Bernie Sanders because of her defense of Barack Obama even as Bernie Sanders called for “change”. That wasn’t because of Russia. Hillary Clinton could barely defeat Bernie Sanders even though the DNC rigged the election and the debate schedule for her. That wasn’t because of Russia. Hillary Clinton could barely defeat Bernie Sanders even though Big Media helped her at every turn. That wasn’t because of Russia. Hillary Clinton could barely defeat Bernie Sanders even though scumbag Donna Brazile at CNN provided Hillary with questions to be asked at debates. That wasn’t because of Russia. Hells Bells, Hillary Clinton could barely defeat Bernie Sanders even though Bernie Sanders renounced any use of the Wikileaks revelations and those “damned emails”.
Weakened by Bernie Sanders and the revelation of rigged DNC corruptions on her behalf Hillary Clinton became the DNC nominee. But Hillary Clinton was debased and trapped. Hillary Clinton could not say what was obvious to all. ObamaCare was a failure in the eyes of the public but Hillary Clinton could not say the obvious and instead it was Bill Clinton who was forced to denounce ObamaCare as “crazy” (then forced to backtrack his comments).
Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 election because she rose a lame horse called Obama Third Term. It was a change election. Russia did not make it a change election. It was Obama corruption that made 2016 a change election.
Americans voted for change in 2016. Now the establishment fights back against change led by the corrupt parasite Barack Obama.
Barack Obama spent most of his life lying about his life, works, and allies. Finally the lies are catching up to him.
Thanks to President Donald J. Trump we are well on the way to finally getting the answers we need.
This is a time of great strife, but also great joy.
We citizens are about to get the answers we need if government by, of, and for, the people shall not perish from this earth.
Trump: Democrats Have ‘Lost Grip on Reality’ with Sessions ‘Witch Hunt’
President Donald Trump responded Thursday to the controversy surrounding Jeff Sessions, writing in a series of tweets that Democrats had “lost their grip on reality” by engaging in a “witch hunt” against the attorney general.
#ResistanceToReality is real reality, really.
President Donald J. Trump has begun to #DrainTheSwamp. Therefore the denizens of the swamp fight back to preserve their sludge existence. We’re back to that old World War II Air Force aphorism, “You Know You’re Over the Target When You’re Catching Flak“.
The Obama administration funneled billions of dollars to activist organizations through a Department of Justice slush fund scheme, according to congressional investigators.
“It’s clear partisan politics played a role in the illicit actions that were made,” Rep. John Ratcliffe, R-Texas, told Fox News. “The DOJ is the last place this should have occurred.”
Findings spearheaded by the House Judiciary Committee point to a process shrouded in secrecy whereby monies were distributed to a labyrinth of nonprofit organizations involved with grass-roots activism.
“Advocates for big government and progressive power are using the Justice Department to extort money from corporations,” Judicial Watch’s Tom Fitton told Fox News. “It’s a shakedown. It’s corrupt, pure and simple.”
There is a recent effort by Republicans to eliminate the practice, which many believe was widely abused during the Obama administration.
Always “follow the money”. The Swamp Reich knows Attorney General Jeff Sessions will stop the slush fund which feeds the leftist Swamp. So, the Swamp strikes back.
The Swamp Reich is not just Obama Dimocrats. The #NeverTrump GOP establishment is in on the Swamp. The Swamp is a hot tub for these Obama Dimocrat leftists and the #NeverTrump haters. The thing to do is turn up the heat on the Swamp hot tub and cook them like lobsters.
Market reaction to Trump speech: A big shrug, as Trump didn’t touch details on issues like tax reform that are of most concern to investors.
The stock market on March 1, as measured by Dow Jones, rose more than 300 points. The 300 point surge was entirely attributed to President Trump and his pro growth policies. But Big Media either fails to note the shocking rise in the stock market or attributes the rocket rise to anything but President Trump’s policies. A 300 point rise. The Dow rising above 21,000 for the first time ever. But no mention of President Trump other than to say “the market shrugs at Trump“.
This is all part of the #Resistance plan. The fools who shout #Resist and #ResistTrump on unsocial media want to take down President Trump with their little plots and ploys.
None of the plots and ploys will work however. Why? Because REALITY that’s why.
The masturbating monkeys called the #Resistance want to style themselves as cinematic latter day French resistance fighters, as Katniss Everdeen of The Hunger Games, as Luke Skywalker of Star Wars. But the #ResistTrump clowns really are the last desperate defenders of a crumbling order – as the Swamp Reich collapses all around them and the Führer bunker lies in ruins – and the last acolytes of the old order flee to Argentina to hallucinate a return to power.
They are really the #ResistanceToReality.
What is reality? The reality is that President Donald J. Trump is draining the swamp and getting more and more done every day. On the last day of February President Trump delivered a magnificent speech. That’s reality:
Dow breaks above 21,000 as stocks hit all-time highs after Trump’s speech; financials lead
U.S. equities traded sharply higher on Wednesday, with the Dow Jones industrial average climbing above 21,000 for the first time, on the back of President Donald Trump’s speech to Congress.
Trump’s speech, which was delivered Tuesday night, was widely praised for its positive tone but lacked specifics about tax reform and deregulation, two key components of the market’s postelection rally.
“I think this is optimism related to the speech and to optimism about the administration’s ability to push through its agenda,” said Tom Wright, director of equities at JMP Securities.
That was just one of many uncomfortable moments for the Democrats. Often you could see the wheels turning–should we be sitting down or standing up for this one? Should we applaud? Trump has stolen so many of the Democrats’ talking points that their bewilderment is understandable.
The Democratic Party members watching that speech looked like a party of the living dead. They didn’t know how to react. They didn’t know if they were Americans. They didn’t know who they were.
Every time Trump called for bipartisanship for the good of our country, they winced. [snip]
He cut the Democrats’ legs out in the worst way, exposing them for the empty party they are with nothing going for them but identity politics. Yet, it is becoming increasingly obvious that if anyone does anything for the inner cities, it will be Trump the builder, not the Democrats who had a chance for fifty or sixty years and did nothing. Bye, bye, identity politics. No wonder Maxine Waters is so apoplectic.
Yes, Trump delivered a speech for the ages. [snip]
The question is, will history look at February 28, 2017, as “The Night the Democratic Party Died” or at the very least the beginning of the end?
The Democratic Party of FDR was murdered by Barack Obama in Denver in 2008. We covered the three day funeral at the time. Today February 25, 2017, the ashes of the cremated party will be scattered to the four winds.
On Saturday, the new chairman of the Obama Dimocrat Party was selected by party leaders in Atlanta. The candidates ranged ideologically from deep crazy leftist (Perez) to deep deep offensively crazy (Keith Ellison) leftist.
After an election in 2016, in which all our dire predictions from many years ago of the importance of the white working class came true, the Obama Dimocrat Party continues down the Stalin-Lenin road – more content to rule in Hell, than serve in Heaven. The Obama Dimocrat Party, as documented by an analysis of census data, is on the ash-heap of history. The Obama Dimocrat Party is a black party of totalitarian leftists aided and abetted by crackpot white liberals who yearn to be black or to have black friends.
In other words, the Obama Dimocrat Party has contracted Electoral Ebola. The Obama Dimocrat Party, because of the majority-minority districts which only benefit black officialdom who cram black voters into said districts, cannot regain the majority in the House of Representatives as long as these districts exist. These majority-minority districts enrich black power brokers and serve to benefit Republicans by diluting Obama Dimocrat black votes in non-majority-minority districts – which are the majority of the country.
The Obama Dimocrat Party, because of their “weighted” convention delegate selection process which rewards black districts, is now the captive of the black electorate wherein whites need not apply unless their platform is to shut white people up:
If the Democratic Party is planning to move away from identity politics in the wake of its presidential election defeat, that memo didn’t reach some of the candidates running for Democratic National Committee chair.
One candidate declared at a forum Monday that white people need to “shut our mouths” and that her job is to “shut other white people down.”
“I’m a white woman, I don’t get it,” Sally Boynton Brown, Idaho Democratic Party executive director, told an applauding crowd at the Democracy in Color forum in Washington, D.C.
The Obama Dimocrat Party is also now an anti-Semitic party.
A few days ago, the Conservative Treehouse asked an intelligent, provocative, question and then answered the question in a most foolish manner:
Many people are noticing a rather familiar, albeit oddly timed, leftist “anti-Semitism” narrative being pushed into the media broadcasts over the past 36 hours. Yes, it seems to have come out of nowhere. Why? No one is really understanding what’s going on.
Understandably, the right side of the political continuum are referencing the media push from the position of their own camp; that makes them defensive. However, the actual motive of the professional corporate media to push this meme has nothing to do with President Trump or republicans – it’s an internal maneuver and transparently Clintonian.
Team Clinton, meaning the professionally political elements of the Democrat machinery, are pushing the anti-Semitism storylines because the party is in the final stages of framing their argument to ensure their preferred DNC head, Tom Perez, wins as party chair.
The Democratic National Committee votes this week for its next leader. The winner of the DNC chair race will very likely reflect whether the committee’s voting members think it prudent to align their party with the Hillary Clinton-Barack Obama camp, the Bernie Sanders camp — or neither. [snip]
Pushing odd, vague, disingenuous and sparsely connected stories about anti-Semitic news, is the way Team Clinton undermine Perez’s opponent, Keith Ellison.
Representative Ellison, a Muslim, carries a strong anti-Semitic liability from his past associations and past engagements speaking negatively about Jewish people.
Team Clinton are exponentially more shrewd than most give them credit for. Even Machiavelli couldn’t keep up with their schemes. With the DNC election coming up, the professionally Democrat know how to plant the most toxic seeds at just the right moment. This is their play toward that end result, nothing more.
The intelligent question was answered foolishly by Conservative Treehouse. It’s a good example of why, because of such dissimilar mindsets and contrary goals, the right wing constantly fails to understand the left wing and therefore should limit their discussions to those of tactics not strategy when it comes to the aims of the totalitarian left.
The clever but deeply flawed scenario described by Conservative Treehouse was that by “setting up a national dialogue of rising anti-Semitic activity” the Clintons profit because their candidate (Tom Perez) will be the next DNC chair, defeat Muslim Keith Ellison (the Bernie Sanders endorsed candidate) and the Clinton victory will be due to the “do you really want to make our party take this dangerous path… .”
Conservative Treehouse has not a clue what this is about. To claim that the Clinton’s have a brilliant strategy to capture the party and keep Bernie Sanders at bay is so foolish, so entirely naïve, so bereft of understanding of the left, we are almost left speechless. Consider this deranged sentence from the Treehouse:
“What’s so brilliantly Clintonian about this play is how the Democrat apparatus gets their opponents (grassroots supporters of Sanders/Ellison) to push the anti-Semitic narrative by giving the appearance of a target against Trump. The Bernie people are so blind to their own party working against them, they willingly push the narrative and don’t realize it undermines their own leader, Keith Ellison. Brilliant x infinity.”
As if. To say something is “brilliantly Clintonian” after this past election cycle boggles the mind. Really, “brilliantly Clintonian”?
The only thing Conservative Treehouse got right was in noticing the “anti-Semitism” attacks on President Trump in the past few weeks. Conservative Treehouse was also correct in speculating that all the “anti-Semitism” news was more about the DNC chair fight than about President Donald J. Trump. But that was it. The answer to the question posed was rubbish.
So what was going on with all the attention to “anti-Semitism” recently? The answer was simple. It was a way to “normalize” anti-Semitism. It was a way to HELP Keith Ellison, not hurt him.
As pseudo-intellectuals and technology fanboys frequently state regarding some quirky computer software anomalies: “it is a feature, not a bug.”
Keith Ellison has a long history of anti-Semitism. Keith Ellison is a Jew hating Muslim creep as has long been documented by those on the right and from those on the left. For the Obama Dimocrat Party this anti-Semitism is a feature, not a bug. Keith Ellison is in the mainstream of Obama Dimocrat Party leftist thought when it comes to his anti-Semitism. What the Conservative Treehouse does not comprehend is that the anti-Semitism of Keith Ellison helped him in his quest to become the DNC chair, not hurt.
So, how did the ridiculous attacks on President Trump attempt to help Keith Ellison? Because anyone in the Obama Dimocrat Party who might have suggested that the election of Muslim Keith Ellison as DNC chair would hurt the Obama Dimocrat Party, was silenced. Anti-Semitism was “normalized”. If some “strategist” said “Muslim Keith Ellison might hurt us with Jewish voters” the answer from the Muslim left was “yeah, but Trump is an anti-Semite too so don’t hold that against Muslim Keith.”
Conservatives don’t understand the convoluted perverse thought patterns of the far left.
The leftists who supported Keith Ellison figured that if they waged a campaign to claim ridiculously that President Trump is an anti-Semite they thereby diluted the “anti-Semite” charge when it was correctly lobbed against Muslim Jew hater Keith Ellison. Now that can be considered “brilliant” as a filthy political ploy.
Anyone who claimed that Bill and/or Hillary Clinton were “brilliant” as strategists in this DNC chair battle – in light of the 2016 election results – simply was not paying attention.
So what were the moves and countermoves of the DNC Chair fight? The fight was simply this: Barack Obama wants to continue to control the Obama Dimocrat Party. That’s why Barack decided to stay in Washington. We wrote about that when few others paid attention. Barack Obama is not staying in Washington for the weather, nor for his daughter. Obama is in Washington because it is from D.C. that Obama can maintain control of the Obama Dimocrat Party and stay on the corrupt gravy train.
Barack Obama’s candidate was Tom Perez. Barack Obama would have backed a horse for DNC chair if that would help him maintain his control of the Obama Dimocrat Party and keep the money flowing.
Bernie Sanders and the far far left wanted Keith Ellison. Socialist kook Bernie thinks he can run for president again in 2020 and somehow win the nomination and the general election. Pocahontas Warren also wants to run for president in 2020 so she too backed Keith Ellison. Sanders and Warren apparently have not learned that at the DNC rigged elections matter.
The DNC chair fight was a clumsy Bernie and Warren struggle to wrest control of the Obama Dimocrat Party from Barack Obama. Barack Obama wants to keep control. Obama continues to control the DNC. Rigged Elections Matter.
Hillary Clinton? That fire has berned out. Hillary Clinton is Obama’s lapdog at best. She has no power here. Tom Perez owes his allegiance and position(s) to Barack Obama and Barack Obama is his master, not Hillary Clinton.
The big winner in all this? President Donald J. Trump. President Trump has played his cards perfectly, brilliantly.
President Trump could have lashed out against the charges of anti-Semitism in an earth shaking way. President Trump could have reminded everyone from every pulpit he commands, of his support for Jews and his Mar-a-Lago destruction of “restricted” anti Jew, anti Black, actions 20 years ago. But President Trump did not do that. President Trump mostly denied, in a calm manner, the accusations. President Trump mostly stayed below the radar on all this.
Why? Why did President Trump not grab the headlines on this issue. Why did President Trump kinda/sorta help leftist Muslim, black racist, Keith Ellison with tweets such as this:
One thing I will say about Rep. Keith Ellison, in his fight to lead the DNC, is that he was the one who predicted early that I would win!
As with his regular faint “praise” of Bernie Sanders, President Trump was dividing the opposition in order to conquer. President Trump played his cards exactly right, in this his second month in office. On the one hand, for the good of the country, President Trump did not want to encourage the DNC to elect a Muslim, racist Black, Jew-hater, leftist totalitarian, even if that did that take the party away from Barack Obama thereby possibly creating a schism in the Obama Dimocrat Party.
On the other hand, President Trump understood that a DNC run by a Muslim, racist Black, Jew-hater, leftist totalitarian, helps cement President Trump’s hold on the white working class and even brings into motion Jews as they leave the Obama Dimocrat Party.
Will American Jews begin the Exodus now that a Muslim, racist Black, Jew-hater, leftist totalitarian loon, is the Deputy DNC chair? We don’t know.
We do know that a leftist totalitarian loon was elected as the new DNC chair. We do know that a leftist totalitarian offensive anti-Semite was elected Deputy DNC Chair. We do know that President Donald J. Trump is smiling tonight. We do know that tonight the ashes of the Obama Dimocrat Party are blowing in the wind.
The “Mistake in ’08” continues to shape American history and raise up the Republican Party.
President Trump has lived his life in the front pages so President Trump understands that Big Media is the enemy of the people. That’s a lesson many of his staff people did not understand fully until the past weeks. We suspect that the delusions are off now for these staffers. Staffers that don’t understand that, or those that want to bad mouth President Trump to Big Media for their own personal advancement, have to be removed.
President Trump as a business man also understands that in business mergers or company takeovers, some staff want to continue infighting instead of accepting the new business structure. President Trump understands that when employees in a business seek to undermine the business they have to be removed. President Trump’s cabinet appointments understand this as well because so many of them come from the world of business.
President Trump also understands that Barack Obama Dimocrats infest the federal bureaucracy and seek to undermine the new administration. These infestations need to be fumigated. As many culprits as possible need to have their heads separated from their shoulders. It’s time to bring out the Guillotine.
It’s Nearly Impossible To Get Fired At The IRS For Tax Evasion
More than 99 percent of the thousands of IRS employees investigated for violating federal tax laws in the last five years avoided termination and continued enforcing other Americans’ tax collections, according to an analysis by The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Investigative Group.
The IRS fired only 74 of 9,176 workers investigated for tax noncompliance from October 2011 to September 2016. Another 280 were allowed to retire or resign as a result of those misconduct investigations, according to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) Inspector General (IG).
Noncompliance cases — which may involve underreporting income, underpaying taxes or failing to file returns — most commonly resulted in some form of verbal or written reprimand or counseling, according to the 10 semi-annual IG reports analyzed. The IRS employed about 85,000 people at 500 offices across the country in 2016.
That IRS corruption is no surprise because Barack Obama appointed a tax cheat, Tim Geithner, to run the Treasury Department which numbers the IRS as one of its fiefdoms. The lack of prosecution of the corrupt IRS director John Koskinen is another clue. It’s time to fire Koskinen.
The firings required to remove the Obama left-overs will be many. Fortunately President Trump is on the job. There is lots of “you’re fired!” good news.
The White House abruptly dismissed a senior National Security Council aide on Friday after receiving reports that he had publicly laced into the president and his senior aides, including son-in-law Jared Kushner and daughter Ivanka Trump, at an event hosted by a Washington think tank.
The aide, Craig Deare, was serving as the NSC’s senior director for Western Hemisphere Affairs. Earlier in the week, at a private, off-the-record roundtable hosted by the Woodrow Wilson Center for a group of about two dozen scholars, Deare harshly criticized the president and his chief strategist Steve Bannon and railed against the dysfunction paralyzing the Trump White House, according to a source familiar with the situation.
This scumbag, of course working for the NSC which is at war with President Trump leaked a “detailed and embarrassing readout of Trump’s call with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto.” He had to go. President Trump removed this security threat.
The White House budget office has drafted a hit list of programs that President Trump could eliminate to trim domestic spending, including longstanding conservative targets like the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the Legal Services Corporation, AmeriCorps and the National Endowments for the Arts and the Humanities.
Work on the first Trump administration budget has been delayed as the budget office awaited Senate confirmation of former Representative Mick Mulvaney, a spending hard-liner, as budget director. Now that he is in place, his office is ready to move ahead with a list of nine programs to eliminate, an opening salvo in the Trump administration’s effort to reorder the government and increase spending on defense and infrastructure. [snip]
The Office of Management and Budget is currently operating with a skeleton staff; Mr. Mulvaney was only confirmed on Thursday. Still, officials there plan to ask agencies targeted for elimination for their responses by next Friday and to finalize the list by March 13, according to a person familiar with the process.
Obama Dimocrats will demand money for wasteful programs that are no longer needed other than to continue to pay salaries to their cronies. But it is time to Guillotine waste, fraud, abuse, and the federal workforce that preys on the taxpayer. It’s long past time for Big Bird to leave the government cage and work in the marketplace. If Big Bird cannot feed itself fat with the hundreds of millions (billions?) made at Sesame Street, then let’s roast that fowl and have a big bird Thanksgiving.
The Guillotine does not have to wait until Thanksgiving in November to feast. The Guillotine has begun to drink at the State Department:
While Rex Tillerson is on his first overseas trip as Secretary of State, his aides laid off staff at the State Department on Thursday.
Much of seventh-floor staff, who work for the Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources and the Counselor offices, were told today that their services were no longer needed. [snip]
Two sources also told CBS News that Ambassador Kristie Kenney, the Counselor of the State Department and one of the last remaining senior officials, was informed that she will be let go. She is a career foreign service officer who had served as an ambassador under Presidents Obama, Bush and Clinton. Her staff was told that Secretary Tillerson does not intend to fill the counselor’s position anytime soon.[snip]
“It is irresponsible to let qualified, nonpartisan, experienced people go before you have any idea of their replacement. You can’t do foreign policy by sitting in the White House, just out of your back pocket,” explains Tom Countryman, Former Assistant Secetary for Non-Proliferation who was let go earlier this month. [snip]
This may be what President Trump was referring to when he repeatedly said that “our people” are not yet in place at U.S. government agencies. He blamed the leaks of embarrassing White House transcripts of his phone calls with foreign leaders – including difficult conversations he had with Mexico and Australia – on officials who had previously worked for the Obama Administration.
Drain that freakin’ swamp! There is no more of a swamp than at foggy bottom, a.k.a. the State Department.
News that a top State Department official discussed a “quid pro quo” in exchange for the FBI changing the classification of a Hillary Clinton email is shocking enough. But word that the coterie of State officials who controlled the release of the emails called itself “The Shadow Government” is mind-blowing.
The latest FBI dump of documents from the investigation into Clinton’s email follies includes a summary of one agent’s talks with Undersecretary Patrick Kennedy — who, the agent said, “pressured” him to “change the classified email to unclassified.”
Kennedy “asked his assistance in altering the email’s classification in exchange for a ‘quid pro quo,’ ” the summary says. “In exchange for marking the email unclassified, State would reciprocate by allowing the FBI to place more agents in countries where they were presently forbidden.” [snip]
The FBI also released the summary of an interview that revealed a cabal at State that oversaw the email release — a “powerful group of very high-ranking STATE officials that some referred to as ‘The 7th Floor Group’ or as ‘The Shadow Government.’
The 7th Floor Group, the Shadow Government swamp is being drained. The Guillotine is lapping up blood and remains thirsty. Candidate Donald J. Trump’s “drain the swamp” promise is underway and will be fulfilled.
Why was T-Rex Tillerson so necessary for the job of Secretary of State? Secretary Tillerson ran the massive Exxon-Mobil corporation so he knows how to run a massive operation like the State Department. You need a T-Rex to drain the swamp. That is what Secretary Tillerson is doing and why he is under attack from within the State Department:
One of Rex Tillerson’s first directives as U.S. secretary of state was an order to senior staff that his briefing materials not exceed two pages.
It was a reflection of Tillerson’s management style honed at the helm of Exxon Mobil, an oil company known for its relentless focus on efficiency, and one reason his closest aides at the State Department refer to him as “the CEO” rather than “the Secretary.” [snip]
His aide R.C. Hammond said the directive reflected Tillerson’s focus on key facts rather than lack of interest in finer points of foreign policy.
“He is asking people to be efficient with their information,” Hammond said, adding that if Tillerson needed more information he would ask for it. “He is a decision-maker and he needs the facts in front of him.” [snip]
Senior State Department officials who have attended meetings with Tillerson say they find him sociable and a man of substance, whose direct manner and probing questions reflect his training as an engineer seeking to solve problems rather than play politics. [snip]
Just two State Department positions of 116 key posts requiring executive branch nomination have been filled, according to the nonpartisan Partnership for Public Service – Tillerson’s and that of U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. [snip]
“People want to back him,” one veteran senior official said about the former Exxon Mobil boss. “But people are feeling that this building is being stripped,” said the official, referring to a sense that with so many top positions vacant, the State Department is not fully equipped to help make policy in the new administration.
There is also unease over possible deep staff cuts and the future of some departments. Two people said employees in the Bureau of Management and Resources were told to apply for other positions within the State Department. Hammond, Tillerson’s aide said no decision had been taken to close that division.
The swamp is being drained, not merely stripped. It must be understood that the swamp monsters will fight back to protect their swamp. Thus far the “intelligence” bureaucrats and the NSC swamp monsters have leaked and leaked to destroy President Trump. Many across the political spectrum have spoken out against the “coup” led by these swamp monsters. Even some die hard leftists, such as former Congressman Dennis Kucinich, see the danger of the swamp monsters, the 7th Floor, the Shadow Government:
WE CAN’T LET INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES UNDERMINE AMERICAN DEMOCRACY [snip]
Now, some unnamed, rogue, intelligence officials, allegedly fearing leaks, are reportedly withholding secret information from the new president, while their own unsubstantiated leaks promote a narrative that Russia hacked the U.S. election, colluding with Trump aides. [snip]
Intelligence agencies play politics. Given the separation of powers doctrine, they have no legal right to monitor Congressional phone calls, and are to discontinue the monitoring if it accidentally occurs.
Our nation is endangered by never-ending attempts to engineer coups abroad. We also face dangers from within by unquestioned acceptance of stories peddled by some past or present anonymous, “official” US sources. [snip]
I well understand the disappointment of Democrats over the election. But we must not let our disappointment cause us to align with those who would imperil our country by either stirring passions for war or using covert, unconstitutional means to oust a President.
The consequences of the behind-the-scenes machinations of anonymous intelligence officials goes way beyond the personality and policies of one president. This is about our nation. It is about our Constitution and the rule of law.
We are witnessing an attempt by some shadowy intelligence operatives to further divide us, to destabilize America for ideology, money and power. People need to look carefully at every headline and media report to discern the underlying motives, so in our efforts to challenge this administration, we do not fall prey to those who can, with insidious anonymity, destroy our democracy and our freedoms. We must look beyond partisanship.
As we wrote previously, “Such is the state of the Obama Dimocrat Party that even those that once were certifiable kooks now appear rational by comparison.” Kucinich is not alone on the left in warning about the Shadow Government, the 7th Floor, the NSC, the intelligence community coup:
I’m a Democrat (and ex-CIA) but the spies plotting against Trump are out of control [snip]
Said an intelligence officer: “I know what’s best for foreign policy and national security… And I’m going to act on that.”
Some of us might applaud this man, including a few of my fellow Democrats. In their minds, this is a case of Mr. Smith Goes to Langley to do battle against a corrupt President Trump.
One small problem. The intelligence officer quoted above was actually Aldrich Ames, a CIA traitor whose crime of treason in the 1980s and 1990s resulted in the compromise of more than 100 assets. Many were tortured and executed as a result.
Ames’ flawed logic is eerily similar to that of his present-day colleagues who are engaged in a shadow war with their commander in chief. They, too, have decided that their superior judgment is more important than following the law. [snip]
For reasons of misguided righteousness or partisan hatred, they’ve taken it upon themselves to be judge, jury, and executioner. They have prosecuted their case in the court of public opinion, with likeminded media outlets such as CNN, The New York Times, and the Washington Post serving as court stenographers.
Elected by no one, responsible only to each other, these spies have determined that Trump is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors.
Days ago, they delivered their verdict. According to one intelligence official, the president “will die in jail.”
I understand how this might feel appealing to deeply partisan Democrats. After all, I didn’t want Trump to win either. [snip] We must instead let the system continue to work, as it has, and make our case to the American people during future elections.
If you’re not convinced, imagine the consequences of letting spies decide not just Trump’s fate but other political winners and losers too. Imagine how they might treat our candidates next. [snip]
This is the slippery slope of political tribalism that, up until a few months ago, I would have thought impossible in America. Certainly it happens in third world nations but not here. I was trained to believe that we were exceptional.
In the culture of America’s spies, you live and die by a set of rules. One of them is a sacred pledge of allegiance to the constitution and commander in chief. Spies may not like a president or their policies but they must salute their leader nonetheless. If they cannot, they are told to resign.
Spies also take a vow of secrecy, specifically to keep classified information hidden from anyone who doesn’t have an authorized need to know. It’s a commitment one keeps for a lifetime. And should that vow be violated, the consequences are dire. Prison time. Colleagues and informants killed. Enemies emboldened. The country less safe.
Spies also accept and embrace a final rule: there must be an unbreakable wall between government workers and the democratic process.
Because many spies have access to powerful tools that, if used improperly, could cause incredible damage to the nation’s stability. Accordingly, clandestine officers have a special covenant with the American people – codified by the Hatch Act – that limits their participation in politics.
During my time as a CIA officer, I quickly learned why all these rules were in place. I read people’s emails. I listened to phone calls. I recruited assets that told the dirtiest and most embarrassing of secrets. I came to realize that my power was both an awesome responsibility and, at times, wickedly seductive.
Some of us faltered in our commitments. I remember colleagues who believed themselves above the rules, conducting quiet investigations into cheating wives or ex-boyfriends. They were eventually discovered and rightfully thrown out. They had demonstrated an inability to handle the burden of power.
And that is precisely what we are experiencing today. The spies who are plotting against President Trump are breaking U.S. laws. They’re violating their oaths. And they’re committing treason to remedy (perceived) treason.
They likely don’t see it that way, of course. But, then again, neither did Aldrich Ames.
With luck and aggressive investigations, these renegade spies will join their fallen colleague at the Allenwood Correctional Facility for the remainder of their lives.
Drain the swamp. Fill the prisons if necessary with those who violate their oaths and plot against the duly elected government and president of the United States.
In a show of defiance, EPA workers fight to stop Pruitt’s confirmation
WASHINGTON — Employees of the Environmental Protection Agency have been calling their senators to urge them to vote on Friday against the confirmation of Scott Pruitt, President Donald Trump’s contentious nominee to run the agency, a remarkable display of activism and defiance that presages turbulent times ahead for the EPA.
Many of the scientists, environmental lawyers and policy experts who work in EPA offices around the country say the calls are a last resort for workers who fear a nominee selected to run an agency he has made a career out of fighting — by a president who has vowed to “get rid of” it.
“Mr. Pruitt’s background speaks for itself, and it comes on top of what the president wants to do to EPA,” said John O’Grady, a biochemist at the agency since the first Bush administration and president of the union representing the EPA’s 15,000 employees nationwide.
Nicole Cantello, an EPA lawyer who heads the union in the Chicago area, said: “It seems like Trump and Pruitt want a complete reversal of what EPA has done. I don’t know if there’s any other agency that’s been so reviled. So it’s in our interests to do this.”
The union has sent emails and posted Facebook and Twitter messages urging members to make the calls.
“It is rare,” said James A. Thurber, the director of the Center for Congressional and Presidential Studies at American University. “I can’t think of any other time when people in the bureaucracy have done this.” [snip]
But because Civil Service rules make it difficult to fire federal workers, the show of defiance indicates that Pruitt will face strong internal opposition to many of his promised efforts to curtail EPA activities and influence.
“What it means is that it’s going to be a bloodbath when Pruitt gets in there,” said Christine Todd Whitman, a former Republican governor of New Jersey and the EPA administrator during the first term of President George W. Bush.
Whitman predicted a standoff between career employees and their politically appointed bosses, noting that Pruitt will be blocked by legal Civil Service protections from immediately firing longtime employees but would likely be able to retaliate against them in other ways, such as shifting them to different jobs. The showdown could embolden the White House and Congress to change federal Civil Service laws.
“The Civil Service is supposed to be a class of experts implementing policy, regardless of politics,” said Myron Ebell, a fellow at the free-market Competitive Enterprise Institute, who led Trump’s environmental transition team. “If they have now become a special interest group pleading their own agenda, then it is probably time to look at reforming the Civil Service laws.” [snip]
Within days of Pruitt’s swearing-in, Trump is expected to sign one or more executive orders aimed at undoing Obama’s climate change regulations, and possibly to begin dismantling some EPA offices and programs, according to people familiar with the White House’s plans.
While it will be impossible to undo most major rules or programs that quickly, the presidential signatures would authorize Pruitt to cut existing environmental regulations — and, eventually, the jobs of many of the people who enforce them. [snip]
“I’ve been here for 30 years, and I’ve never called my senator about a nominee before,” said an EPA employee in North Carolina who spoke on the condition of anonymity out of fear losing her job.
The calls to senators come on top of an anti-Pruitt protest last week by Chicago EPA employees, and agency workers say that if Pruitt is confirmed, they intend to amplify their resistance to him, taking their case to the American public.
“At this point, it’s just, ‘call your senator,’” O’Grady, the union president, said. “We plan on more demonstrations, more rallies. I think you will see the employees’ union reaching out to NGOs and having alliances with them,” he added, referring to nongovernmental organizations. “We’re looking at working with PR firms.” [snip]
But former EPA officials said the open rebellion by current employees is extraordinary, especially considering that their resistance could backfire once Pruitt arrives on the job.
Scott Pruitt won confirmation on Friday. The EPA swamp will be drained and the ecology of government restored. Get ready for “reforming the Civil Service laws”. Remember, we save the best for last.
Drudge Put It Perfectly: Congressional Republicans Flail and Fail
Incompetence hinders party from accomplishing Trump’s agenda
President Donald J. Trump is working night and day, seven days a week, but the congress is a freakin’ waste. But not entirely a waste. The goofball congress, run by the GOP establishment and Trump haters, have done a few things.
The wastrel congress run by Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell have done very little during the first Trump month. The Senate as usual has lounged in the swamp as if it were a high class hot tub at a Trump resort – failing to quickly fill President Trump’s cabinet. The House, under Paul Ryan, promises to get things done – after a week’s “recess” having done little thus far. Paul Ryan says that after the recess the House will begin to repeal ObamaCare and continue to prepare budgets and tax reform.
We’ll give Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell and the Congress through the Trump month 2 – before we start to scream and shout. We want to preserve our dulcimer tones and sweet demeanor/disposition.
There is some hope we will remain sweet and purring. We saved the best for last.
During Trump month 1, a great many preparatory steps have been taken. A great many seeds planted. The next steps, the flowering seeds, might blossom unto heaven and feed the Guillotine in Trump month 2. Here’s a corpuscle taste, written by leftist NYMAG, to whet the appetite of the Guillotine:
The GOP Just Gave Congress the Power to Cut the Salaries of Individual Civil Servants to $1
This week, congressional Republicans gave themselves the power to slash the annual salary of any individual federal worker to as low as $1 — and the budget of any individual federal program right down to zero.
They executed this attack on the independence of the civil service by reviving an obscure provision enacted by Congress in 1876: The Holman Rule, named after the Indiana congressman who devised it, empowers any member of Congress to submit an amendment to an appropriations bill that targets the funding of a specific government program or employee. [snip]
For the past three decades, Congress has had the power to slash any agency’s overall budget, but not to target specific projects or civil servants for funding cuts or downsizing.
“This is a big rule change inside there that allows people to get at places they hadn’t before,” House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy told reporters this week. “All agencies should be held accountable and tested in a manner and this is an avenue to allow them to do it.” [snip]
Virginia congressman H. Morgan Griffith led the charge for reviving the Holman Rule, after learning about how much the federal government spends on the upkeep of wild horses ($80 million, apparently). When the Washington Post asked Griffith if the new rule would be used to cut “huge swaths” of the federal workforce, he replied, “I can’t tell you it won’t happen … The power is there. But isn’t that appropriate? Who runs this country, the people of the United States or the people on the people’s payroll?”
For the next year, passing an amendment slashing an individual worker’s salary or position will require a simple majority in both houses of Congress.
Now that is Civil Service Reform. Sadly, the only way some workers, especially protected government workers, will be productive and follow the orders of those duly elected to run the government is under the threat of “You’re fired.” The unfortunate fact, as demonstrated by the IRS tax cheats, is that the federal bureaucracy needs to be cut back drastically. Also, the tail needs to understand it does not get to shake the big dog.
On Saint Valentine’s Day, Governor Chris Christie met with President Trump. No one other than the President and the Governor know what happened at that meeting. The best guess is Governor Christie will soon be employed by the President. As NYMAG reported, Governor Christie at a private function said that he advised President Trump early on “to immediately ask the Republican Congress to change the civil service laws. Because if they do, it will make it a lot easier to fire” Obama appointees.
Governor Christie might be the incoming “drain the swamp” machine. We’ll know soon enough. For now, the Guillotine is the apprentice on the job – beheading the swamp monsters – under orders from President Trump.
Beware swamp monsters and corrupt bureaucrats! President Donald J. Trump says “You’re fired!”
It just does not get any better, although we have no doubt it will. Spring is in the air! An Islamic pig is dead! President Trump continues to do what we declared had to be done way back in 2007! Today President Trump speaks at a rally which might be the opening salvo for reelection. These days every day we hum or outright sing out that Dean Martin song that has become so popular of late in various TV commercials.
The dead Islamic Pig?
Breaking News: Report: Omar Abdel-Rahman, orchestrator of 1993 World Trade Center bombing, dies in prison. pic.twitter.com/mUHLmyRW4f
I go to sleep and keep grinning… If this is just the beginning…
Keep on grinning! President Trump is in Melbourne, Florida today to speak to the American people. The event is paid for by his campaign. Is it his reelection campaign? Is it the campaign he just won? Whatever! It’s a winning campaign.
Why is it a winning campaign? Because President Trump is telling the truth, the unvarnished politically incorrect truth.
On the day Donald J. Trump announced for president we wrote his greatest strength was his use of the English language (shades of Winston Churchill). President Trump continues to trump because his use of English is a precision instrument. We’re not talking about details nor the obsessions of pedants. We’re talking about how President Trump tells the truth. Example:
President Trump is absolutely correct. The propaganda ministers, the liars who hide behind the First Amendment, the Big Media vipers who pretend to be “news” but are “fake news” deceivers, are the enemies of the people.
That bit of truth triggered a response from Chuck Todd:
I would hope that our leaders would never believe that any American desires to make another American an enemy. Let's dial it back.
Chuck Todd did not seem to mind when Anderson Cooper asked Hillary Clinton about her “enemies” and Hillary Clinton responded with a list of her deplorable enemies. Oh, and we haven’t heard denunciations of Eleanor Roosevelt attacking her “enemies” either.
Chuck Todd also did not seem to mind how in 2008 Big Media shilled for Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton and in 2016 Big Media shilled for Hillary Clinton over Donald J. Trump. Big Media abused its power in both those important elections. The difference in who won is that in 2016 Donald J. Trump would not play the sap for Big Media like Hillary Clinton did in 2008.
Press bashing may feel good to folks but when it's done by people in power, it's corrosive. Take off your partisan hats for a second
Chuck Todd and his Big Media pals are the ones abusing their power with their partisan pussyhats firmly on their heads. What Chuck Todd is whining about is that President Trump will fight fire with fire.
Today, at 5:00 p.m., President Donald J. Trump speaks to the American people from a rally in Florida and live up to that .
It’s the precursor to an upcoming week will be a massively important. Lots will happen this coming week which begins with Presidents’ Day. Hold on to your hats! The Trumpnado is unleashed!
The fun is just beginning. We’re laughing at two categories of fool today.
Type one to mock is the Trump supporter chicken littles who think their world is crashing because the fight is on and things are not going as rosy sweet as they feverishly imagined.
Type two to mock are the DailyKooks who have gone full tilt nuts along with the GOP establishment still hoping the red they see is President Trump’s blood. We laugh at them both as Trump week 4 continues and hundreds, yes hundreds, of Trump weeks are to come.
* * * * * *
Let’s return to the basics of the Trump Revolution to understand what is happening. Donald J. Trump launched a hostile takeover of the Republican Party back in June 2015. During the nomination fight Donald J. Trump attacked Republicans such as George W. Bush and his Iraq War at Republican debates. Donald J. Trump rampaged through the debates and the nomination fight against the GOP establishment. Once Donald J. Trump was the GOP nominee he trained his artillery against the Obama Dimocrat Party and the self-proclaimed Obama Third Term a.k.a. Hillary Clinton. Against Big Media, the Dimocrats, the GOP establishment, the intelligencia, Academia, Big Business, Big Institutions, the neo-con right, and the totalitarian left, Donald J. Trump fought and won. Ergo, President Donald J. Trump.
The chicken littles of today somehow thought that after the President Donald J. Trump inauguration the war would turn into the discourse of a little girl’s plastic tea cup party featuring operatic debates in which the harshest imaginable behavior would be the occasional “tut-tut old sport” verbiage. That was never going to happen. Neither that nor any variant short of all out war, bloody war was ever going to happen.
It’s all out war. The inauguration of President Donald J. Trump was the starting fire of all out war. We wrote about what to expect and we said it will be all out war until the political equivalent of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Want to see a visual representation (warning: it’s gruesome) of what we expected and what every Trump voter should understand is the situation? Here it is (again, visually gruesome):
That’s what it’s like. President Trump and the overthrow of the political establishment is all out war, not a pretty picture of well ordered landings from a luxury cruise ship assisted by charming escorts. President Trump represents an invasion that seeks to overthrow the political order. The political order will fight back.
What President Trump understands is that once you land on the beach the imperative is to move swiftly inland and capture territory. President Trump, like the General Patton he so often references, knows that the army must move forward with surprising speed and worry about patching problems up as you go along.
Some parts of the beachhead advance. Other parts of the invasion are stalled. The order is to keep moving forward. There’s blood everywhere. The necessity is to break through the roadblocks and move forward. Move forward. There’s blood everywhere, but move forward, even when it is your friend that was mowed down, move forward, move forward:
Let’s look at the entire battlefield: the GOP establishment continues to fight back with delay tactics while the neo-cons and their bureaucratic allies continue all out war with flame-throwers and exhortations to fight on against President Trump. From the left it is madness and fury against President Trump. All along President Trump continues to move forward, move forward.
A few data points of the fight as it progresses which helps us map out tactically how to move forward on the strategy:
Remember the withdrawal of Obama’s pick for National Intelligence Council chairman, Charles Freeman, in March 2009? Obama had tapped the former U.S. ambassador to Saudi Arabia for the sensitive post despite abundant conflicts of interests. Freeman had served for four years on the board of the China National Offshore Oil Corporation, a company owned by the Chinese communist government. The state-owned firm has invested in Sudan and Iran. Freeman also led the Middle East Policy Council, a Washington, D.C.-based group funded by the Saudi government. [snip]
Obama knew all that and looked the other way at Freeman’s role as a de facto lobbyist for Saudi royalty. Even worse, he ignored Freeman’s Jew-bashing and tyrant-coddling record with a Blame America axe to grind. Freeman carped that our country exhibited “an ugly mood of chauvinism” after the 9/11 attacks and condemned his fellow countrymen for connecting the dots of Islam and Saudi-funded jihad: “Before Americans call on others to examine themselves,” he fumed with Jeremiah Wright-style bombast, “we should examine ourselves.”
In fine form, Freeman inveighed against the “Israel Lobby” in his resignation letter. [snip]
By this time in Obama’s first term, former Democratic New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson had withdrawn as Commerce Secretary nominee after both liberals and conservatives protested his long record of corruption and incompetence. [snip]
Richardson’s replacement, former GOP Sen. Judd Gregg, accepted and then quickly withdrew after disagreements over Obama’s massive federal stimulus proposal and Democrats’ politicization of the Census.
Another Beltway barnacle, former Democratic South Dakota Sen. Tom Daschle, was also forced to withdraw from his nomination as Obama’s Health and Human Services secretary amid a storm of ethical scandal, conflicts of interest, and tax avoidance. That was compounded by Treasury Secretary Geithner’s admission of “tax goofs” involving his failure to pay $43,000 in federal self-employment taxes for four separate years (until, that is, he was tapped for his Obama post). At least five other Treasury staff picks withdrew before the Obama administration had reached the 100-day mark over tax problems, conflicts of interest, bad judgment and records of lax oversight of industry.
By the end of his first 100 days, Obama had set a turnover record for an incoming cabinet with four major withdrawals. And by the hallowed 100-day mark, Obama had announced less than half of the total Senate-confirmed Cabinet department positions he needed to fill, with only 10 approved — even though the Democrats had an overwhelming majority in the Senate at the time.
That brief history should shut up the chicken littles of 2016 pearl clutching about Mike Flynn and/or Puzder.
Consider the data point of neo-con Bill Kristol as he abandons democracy and the republic to embrace a coup d’etat against President Trump:
Obviously strongly prefer normal democratic and constitutional politics. But if it comes to it, prefer the deep state to the Trump state.
Ultimately, you’re committed not so much to conservative principles, but rather to a Beltway status quo that Trump is a huge threat to. Based on your actions over the past few months, I can see (and indeed, so can everybody else) that you wouldn’t have cared all that much if it had been Hillary Clinton who won the election. Even if Jeb Bush or Ted Cruz had came out on top in the Republican primaries, and then went on to lose in the general election to Hillary Clinton, you would not have been greatly discomfited. Yes, you wouldn’t have liked it, and yes, I’m sure that for at least the next four years, the Weekly Standard would be filled with articles and think pieces critical of Clinton and her policies, but they would all pretty much impotent to actually change anything.
So I think the election of President Trump has given us the chance, for the first time, to effect real change in national politics. And it’s been instructive to see how you and the rest of the #NeverTump crowd are all weeping and wailing and digging in your heels, even now, even after most of the decisions Trump has made so far have been conservative. This tells me that you’re part of the problem that electing Trump is supposed to solve. And it confirms to me that voting for Trump was the correct choice.
Data point, #NeverTrump John Podhoretz is worried about the destruction of Mike Flynn by the “deep state” which we once all called the “police state”. Podhoretz did not like Flynn but sees the danger:
If this was intelligence, the revelation of the Flynn meeting just revealed something to the Russians we shouldn’t want revealed — which is that we were listening in on them and doing so effectively. [snip]
And as for playing fast and loose with confidential information on American citizens: No joke, people — if they can do it to Mike Flynn, they can do it to you. [snip]
It would be pretty to think so, but we also know that Flynn had an antagonistic relationship with America’s intelligence agencies. If these leaks came about not out of high principle but because officials at those agencies were taking out a potential adversary, that is nothing more or less than a monstrous abuse of power. [snip]
If those who fear Trump embrace antinomianism because they think he’s going to destroy our democracy, they should stop and consider whether their zeal to stop him might be blinding them to a different threat from the federal government that will erode our rights as citizens.
Data point, Don Surber who understands why Mike Flynn had to go, but also understands the threat from the “police state” a.k.a. “deep state”.
This particular data point from Don Surber has been driven very well by President Trump who Tweeted: “The real story here is why are there so many illegal leaks coming out of Washington? Will these leaks be happening as I deal on N.Korea etc?”
Don’t forget the Glenn Greenwald – who applauds what happened to Flynn even while seeing all the lies on top of lies, data point. Greenwald’s position is complex. He believes Flynn lied and it was necessary to expose that lie. Greenwald also sees the hypocrisy of Obama Dimocrats who said nothing as Obama hunted down leakers with more gusto than Richard Nixon, now praising those who leaked against President Trump. Greenwald also recalls the felony lies of James Clapper to Congress in public testimony in order to protect Obama. Greenwald misses his own hypocrisies. But the data point that matters here is this:
The Leakers Who Exposed Gen. Flynn’s Lie Committed Serious — and Wholly Justified — Felonies [snip]
In the spectrum of crimes involving the leaking of classified information, publicly revealing the contents of SIGINT — signals intelligence — is one of the most serious felonies. Journalists (and all other nongovernmental citizens) can be prosecuted under federal law for disclosing classified information only under the narrowest circumstances; reflecting how serious SIGINT is considered to be, one of those circumstances includes leaking the contents of intercepted communications, as defined this way by 18 § 798 of the U.S. Code:
Keep that data point in mind. Prosecutions, even of alleged journalists, are permissible under certain circumstances and the Mike Flynn assassination is one of those circumstances.
* * * * * *
The above data points are mostly from the right side of the battlefield. What of the left side of the battlefield. On the left, it is madness. Those whom the gods wish to destroy they first make mad.
There is no other way to explain the left. It will require a political Hiroshima and Nagasaki to bring them to their senses. For now the left is entirely mad, stark raving mad. Next week we will examine the political left as it grabs total control of the DNC. How can we explain the madness of a DNC that condemns a fictional TV show because of… some madness about the F.B.I. and Comey? For now, the madness of the left is manifest in almost every utterance from that kingdom of kooks.
Consider Dan Rather. Dan Rather imagines he sees something as big or bigger than the Watergate scandal in the Mike Flynn story. That’s laughably crazy.
Friedman: Flynn Resignation Shows Russia Hacking Was On Scale With 9/11, Pearl Harbor
Thomas Friedman said the resignation of Ret. Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn as National Security Adviser showed it was never taken seriously that the Russians “hacked our election.”
“Trump actually tweeted out some positive encouragement of this. Did the two of them cook this up all along?” Friedman asked of Flynn and Trump.
“We have never taken seriously from the very beginning Russia hacked our election,” the New York Times scribe said on Morning Joe Tuesday. “That was a 9/11 scale event. They attacked the core of our democracy. That was a Pearl Harbor scale event.”
Pearl Harbor? 9/11? Only in the Kingdom of the Kooks does such madness prevail. Did the Russians corrupt the primary in which Hillary Clinton could barely beat socialist kook Bernie Sanders? Bernie Sanders did not fight Hillary Clinton on emails. Bernie Sanders enabled Hillary Clinton on her email problems.
The “Russians did it” theory of the kooks is that the Russians won the election for Trump by hacking, then leaking, emails from John Podesta and the DNC. Bernie Sanders never exploited the emails however so how is it that Hillary Clinton was barely able to defeat Bernie Sanders and therefore the Russians are to blame for her loss? Indeed, Bernie Sanders’ supporters and Hillary Clinton supporters are still fighting each other. But the Russians did not help socialist Sanders. Yet Hillary Clinton, despite a DNC that rigged circumstances and situations for her, could not dispatch the socialist kook.
If Hillary Clinton has dispatched socialist kook Sanders in Iowa and New Hampshire, unified Obama’s party behind her very early, understood the change Donald J. Trump represented, she could have won the election by leveraging the establishments of both parties and her money advantage (though we doubt it because it was a change election). We knew back in 2013 that Hillary Clinton was a “muddled message mess”.
Hillary Clinton ran the dumbest, stupidest, campaign ever. Hillary Clinton, as we wrote, deserved to lose.
Hillary Clinton deserved to lose and she lost. It wasn’t the Russians, nor Bernie Sanders, nor fill-in-the-excuse that is to blame. Hillary Clinton deserved to lose. As we wrote repeatedly at least since 2012, the 2016 election was a change election and the candidate of change would win. Hillary Clinton declared herself the Obama Third Term, not the candidate of change, so she lost. Donald J. Trump made himself the leader of a movement for change, real change, not phony hope and change, so Donald J. Trump is now President Trump.
Such is the state of the Obama Dimocrat Party that even those that once were certifiable kooks now appear rational by comparison. Ladies and Gentlemen, the Kooch, Dennis Kucinich, is talking sense!
Kucinich is one of the few principled liberals left.
Even with a barely moving congress, President Trump is moving forward. Consider the initiatives President Trump has signed and the long term ramifications of same. As he meets with foreign leaders, such as Netanyahu, Trump moves forward. David Friedman will soon be the American ambassador to Israel too. On immigration, President Trump will win, even if he faces fire as he lands on the beachhead. As his cabinet fills, President Trump gets reinforcements and continues to move forward.
On issue after issue President Trump moves forward. Every day productive activity is moving forward even as during the campaign the chicken littles and the left will declare what they don’t understand to be “chaos”.
TPP is gone. A lot has been done. What President Trump has done will not soon be gone. It will last for generations.
As to the intelligence community and Mike Flynn remember that not even journalists are protected under 18 § 798 of the U.S. Code. Keep an eye on that as President Trump takes control in the coming weeks and months of the NSA and the “deep state”.
President Trump knows he is on a battlefield. That’s why today he holds a press conference. That’s why President Trump calls Big Media the opposition party. That’s why President Trump on Saturday will bring in the people as reinforcements.
The more the political establishment shoots from the sand dunes at the incoming Trump Revolution on the beachhead, the more reinforcements will come to fight alongside President Trump.
Update: The fog of war continues. The Ninth Circuit declared war on President Trump, the Executive Branch, and our system of enumerated powers and separation of powers. That is the main lesson from their latest clown ruling on President Trump’s immigration order. Now the Ninth Circus has gone further nuts, if that is possible. There is a new order from the Ninth Circus:
BREAKING: 9th Circuit Judge Wants Another Vote over Trump Travel Ban Decision
In a somewhat rare move, one of the judges on the 9th Circuit of Appeals has made a request that a vote be taken as to whether the order issued by the three judges Thursday night should be reconsidered en banc, which means before the entire 9th Circuit bench rather than by just the panel selected from them. It’s not clear if this mean that this judge believes that there is enough votes to overturn the lower court’s decision which put a temporary halt to Trump’s controversial travel ban. Regardless, it is an interesting move, and throws another legal twist into the ongoing court battle between President Trump and those trying to prevent his controversial immigration ban from being enforced. [snip]
The court has instructed both Trump’s team and lawyers for the State of Washington and Minnesota to file briefs due by Thursday February 16th, stating whether they believe the motion should be considered en banc. Earlier today, Trump indicated that he did not plan to appeal the 9th Circuit’s decision to the U.S. Supreme Court, and instead planned to fight the case on the merits in the lower court.
What does this all mean? Is the Ninth Circus afraid of what has been unleashed by it’s mad war against separation of powers and at least one judge is blinking, afraid or concerned by the implications of what the Ninth Circus has done? Or is the fear of President Trump forcing the Ninth Circus to reconsider their craziness? Or is the Ninth Circus afraid that President Trump’s alleged plans to fight the case in the lower court and the court of public opinion and thereby this new order is a way to force President Trump to stay at the appeals level and on to the Supreme Court before Justice Gorsuch appears on the high court?
We won’t speculate as to those questions. But we do know who will win and who will lose: President Trump will win and the Ninth Circuit will lose. Why do we say that with such assuredness? Because President Trump has a lot of cards to play while the Ninth Circuit – with it’s ridiculous ruling which gave standing to non-citizens in other countries and gave legal standing to the complaining states without real grievances – played it’s last hand.
Eventually this all goes to the Supreme Court, unless the Ninth Circus surrenders, and President Trump has the appointment trump hand. The Ninth Circus is in for a world of hurt, possibly including getting smashed to bits, and of course the Congress can always cut the court budget giving the Ninth Circus and the Judicial Branch a good lesson in separation of powers.
What would we like to see happen in our entertainment fantasies? It would be fun if Attorney General Jeff Sessions would reply to the court with a letter saying “listen you dumbass motherf*cker refugees from Barnum & Bailey, you will get an asswhipping ejamacation on separation of powers when we bust up your little clown tent and start to pass legislation with Article III, Section 2 “exceptions, and under such regulations as the Congress shall make” which strip you of judicial review and then you can chew on your own butts for taking on President Trump before I was in office and he had to fight you alone you jerkoff lunatics, and let me also tell you you goddamned motherfu*king ….”
President Trump is no Mae West. Mae, as Flower Belle, is asked by a judge “Are you trying to show contempt for this court?” Mae responds: “No. I’m doing my best to hide it.” President Trump does not hide his contempt for the ridiculous court which presumes to intrude on his Executive Branch prerogatives in violation of the separation of powers.
As we wrote previously, President Trump will eventually win this battle for the reasons we outlined (um, paging Justice Gorsuch, paging Justice Gorsuch – time to bitch-slap the Ninth Circus clowns!). The good news in all this is that as of today the newly confirmed Attorney General Jeff Sessions is on the job and ready to help President Trump.
So what happens now? There are essentially two options: Option 1: ask Justice Kennedy for a stay from the TRO, which we suspect Justice Kennedy would grant and then continue to slog it out in the courts until reinforcements arrive to support President Trump in the Supreme Court. Option 2: go full tilt political on this and burn down the liberal Ninth Circuit – holding these leftist loons responsible if their stay of President Trump’s order leads to any harm to this country – and going to the country to denounce the leftist loons.
Big Media has already declared President Trump is on a “collision course” with the left and that includes the leftist loons in the judiciary so this is just sauce for this strong leader. President Trump has a strong case to make to the American people on immigration and the American people agree with President Trump:
Donald Trump’s most controversial executive orders have proved to be his most popular, according to a new poll, suggesting that protests and their attendant media coverage aren’t reliable indicators of what Americans expect of their new president.
Fifty-five per cent of registered voters support Trump’s travel ban affecting seven Muslim-majority countries. The same number approve of his plan to deny federal funds to cities that shield illegal-immigrant criminals from deportation.
The numbers come from a new Morning Consult poll conducted for the Washington, D.C.-area Politico newspaper.
Also winning the approval of an American majority is the president’s demand that bureaucrats freeze new federal regulations until his administration can review them and assess their impacts. That measure has 54-percent approval. [snip]
The remaining eight executive orders in the new poll won support from between 46 and 49 per cent of registered voters.
None of them is ‘under water’ – political-speak for having more disapproval than approval.
There is evidence to suggest that both Trump and these radical right-wing parties reflect an underlying reservoir of public support.
Drawing on a unique, new Chatham House survey of more than 10,000 people from 10 European states, we can throw new light on what people think about migration from mainly Muslim countries. Our results are striking and sobering. They suggest that public opposition to any further migration from predominantly Muslim states is by no means confined to Trump’s electorate in the US but is fairly widespread.
In our survey, carried out before President Trump’s executive order was announced, respondents were given the following statement: ‘All further migration from mainly Muslim countries should be stopped’. They were then asked to what extent did they agree or disagree with this statement. Overall, across all 10 of the European countries an average of 55% agreed that all further migration from mainly Muslim countries should be stopped, 25% neither agreed nor disagreed and 20% disagreed.
Majorities in all but two of the ten states agreed, ranging from 71% in Poland, 65% in Austria, 53% in Germany and 51% in Italy to 47% in the United Kingdom and 41% in Spain. In no country did the percentage that disagreed surpass 32%.
Public opposition to further migration from Muslim states is especially intense in Austria, Poland, Hungary, France and Belgium, despite these countries having very different sized resident Muslim populations. In each of these countries, at least 38% of the sample ‘strongly agreed’ with the statement. With the exception of Poland, these countries have either been at the centre of the refugee crisis or experienced terrorist attacks in recent years. It is also worth noting that in most of these states the radical right is, to varying degrees, entrenched as a political force and is looking to mobilize this angst over Islam into the ballot box, either at elections in 2017 or longer term.
President Trump did not issue a Muslim ban, but it would appear that as a political argument, it is a strong one.
Option 1 or Option 2? With this violation of the separation of powers doctrine, three clowns in the Ninth Circus have opened a war on the executive branch. The notion, as today’s decision states, that Washington state has standing in this suit because some of its students are inconvenienced is an appalling standard. The notion that these judges get to decide, however disguised, on the wisdom of the President’s policy instead of strictly on the law and presidential authority is a casus belli. The Ninth Circus has declared war on President Trump so President Trump is justified if he decides to go all out war as well.
Option 1 or Option 2? Which will President Trump choose? Perhaps a combination of Option 1 and Option 2: a fight in the court system and the court of public opinion? You betcha, in all caps:
SEE YOU IN COURT, THE SECURITY OF OUR NATION IS AT STAKE!
