Update II: President Trump at the American Legion convention:
Update: President Trump in Arizona! The medium is the message:
The medium is the message. Monday night President Donald J. Trump in a nationally televised speech in front of American troops and top government officials announced his strategy to kill terrorists in Afghanistan. Tuesday night in Arizona President Donald J. Trump will visit with American troops in Arizona then go to a big rally with Vice President Mike Pence alongside him in Arizona.
The medium is the message. President Trump in Arizona is sending a very big message because he is in Arizona. The targets of President Donald J. Trump are Arizona Governor Ducey, Senator John McCain, and Senator Jeff Flake.
Gov. Doug Ducey will greet President Donald Trump on the tarmac after Air Force One touches down Tuesday afternoon for his first presidential visit to the Grand Canyon state.
But the Republican governor, who like many in the GOP has diplomatically sidestepped Trump and his more divisive rhetoric, will not attend Trump’s campaign-style rally at the Phoenix Convention Center. [snip]
Richard Herrera, an Arizona State University associate professor of political science, said Ducey’s decision illustrates the Trump tightrope he walks as the governor prepares a 2018 reelection bid.
Herrera said the governor is trying to strike a balance between Republican voters who ardently support Trump, and those who vehemently oppose him.
If Ducey avoided Trump altogether, he could alienate voters he will need next year. And if he joined the president at the rally, Herrera said, he could leave some voters with the impression he supports all of the president’s views. [snip]
“The upside is that for supporters of Trump, he makes a gesture of being close to the president,” Herrera said. “The upside is that he doesn’t have to be in full public view at the rally.
“The negative side is it may not be enough for either group,” he added.
Just by being in Arizona, President Donald J. Trump puts Governor Pucey Ducey on notice that Trump supporters will not vote for this wucey. This Ducey character encouraged Senator McCain to preserve ObamaCare with his vote against ObamaCare repeal in the Senate. Ducey better get a ticket on the TrumpTrain or he will find himself on the tracks with the mighty Trump engine over him.
Arizona Governor Ducey should look at the latest polls from Kentucky for a clue to his reelection bid.
Media Research Center President Brent Bozell on Tuesday unloaded on Arizona GOP Sen. Jeff Flake, mocking him in a Twitter post as an “imposter” posing as a conservative.
“Jeff Flake is not a conservative, nor does he have a conscience,” Bozell said, slamming Flake by using the title of his new book “Conscience of a Conservative” — a nod to Barry Goldwater’s 1960 work that was ghost-written by Bozell’s late father.
“On behalf of my late father and my family, I am denouncing Senator Jeff Flake and his new book, dishonestly titled, ‘Conscience of a Conservative,'” Bozell wrote in a posted statement. [snip]
“The media need to know, when reporting on Senator Flake and his ‘book,’ that the author is a deceiver out for personal and financial gain. I also call on my conservative brethren to denounce this imposter, who dishonorably claims to speak for conservatism, in the strongest possible terms,” the Twitter post maintained.
While promoting his news book, Flake told CBS News’ “Face The Nation” the GOP had “lost its way” and given in to “nativism and protectionism.”
He also slammed the party in a commentary for Politico Magazine last month, criticizing the GOP for “creating” and “rationalizing” President Donald Trump.
Jeff Flake has repeatedly attacked President Trump. Jeff Flake believed that along with Senator McCain and Governor Ducey he could attack President Trump and still be reelected. As if!
John McCain is popular with Obama Dimocrats but not Republicans. John McCain will not help Flake in the Republican primary. Governor Ducey will be too busy in a fight for his own survival so he won’t be much help to Flake either. Governor Ducey and Senator Flake need President Trump, not John McCain.
Just by being in Arizona, President Donald J. Trump slaps Jeff Flake in the face. Jeff Flake needs President Trump but President Trump does not need Jeff Flake. There is another. Her name is Kelli Ward:
Top Trump donor ponies up to take out Flake
Robert Mercer is donating $300,000 to a super PAC backing Kelli Ward, who is running against the GOP senator in a primary next year.
One of Donald Trump’s most generous political benefactors is providing a six-figure donation to a super PAC devoted to unseating Sen. Jeff Flake, an Arizona Republican who has been fiercely critical of the president.
Robert Mercer, a reclusive hedge fund billionaire who was intimately involved in Trump’s rise and helped to bankroll his 2016 campaign, is contributing $300,000 to a super PAC supporting former state Sen. Kelli Ward, who is challenging Flake in a Republican primary next year.
It’s the latest sign that Trump’s political machine is preparing to take on Flake, whose persistent attacks have angered the president. The White House has met with Ward and two other Republicans who are mulling primary challenges to the Arizona senator, state Treasurer Jeff DeWit and former state GOP Chairman Robert Graham.
A longtime Trump critic, Flake has made waves with the release of his new book, “Conscience of a Conservative.” He argues that his party is in denial about the Trump presidency and blames the GOP for his rise. Over the past week, Flake has launched a national TV tour in which he’s made the case that his party has taken the wrong course.
During the 2016 campaign, Flake refused to endorse Trump and called on him to withdraw after the release of the “Access Hollywood” tape, in which Trump was heard boasting about groping women. The senator refused to attend the GOP convention, saying that he had to stay home to mow his lawn.
His jabs rankled candidate Trump, who at one point said that he would be willing to spend $10 million of his own money to defeat Flake in a 2018 primary.
And during a press briefing last week, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders declined to rule out the possibility that the president would help finance an anti-Flake primary effort.
If we were suspicious types we would think that the Steve Bannon resignation and that five hour meeting with Robert Mercer as Bannon prepared to leave the White House job after his August 7 resignation had something to do with all this. We expect Trump supporters, Steve Bannon, Robert Mercer, are all united in taking down politically, the flakeity flake Jeff Flake.
Ed Koch used to ask, “How am I doing?” Big Media, as President Trump begins week 4, thinks “It’s over for Trump”… again. America, thinks things are just grand. Consider a nastily testy report from Trump hater Politico which asks Vigo, “how is President Trump doing?”:
‘I’m Still All Trumped Up’
Hundreds of miles from the din of D.C., the nation’s bellwether county thinks the new president is doing just fine. [snip]
Almost a month into Trump’s administration, Vigo—population 108,000, the nation’s swingiest swing county—seemed to be an ideal place to take the temperature of voters. This year, Vigo swung for Trump (who took 55.4 percent to Hillary Clinton’s 40.2 percent), continuing a 60-year streak as the nation’s most accurate bellwether county. [snip]
What I heard, in conversations with nearly a dozen Trump supporters, is that like the Ameses, most of Vigo County is still “Trumped up.” [snip] The lies, the fumbles and faux pas that have rattled the D.C. establishment and global allies? None of it seems to resonate here.
“I think Trump is doing exactly what he said he was going to do,” said Keith Kindsvatter, a 64-year-old system specialist with the Federal Aviation Administration, as he chomped on his BLT sandwich at Boo’s. [snip]
To a person, the Trump voters I talked to in Vigo offered a similar refrain as they assessed Trump’s first days in office, almost as if they were reading from a fresh batch of talking points issued by the president’s director of Surrogate Outreach: “He’s doing exactly what he promised he would do,” Kelly, 48, a pharmacist in Terre Haute who felt uncomfortable divulging her last name, told me when I asked her about Trump’s controversial immigration executive order, as she ate a slice of cheese pizza at the food court in Honey Creek Mall. Nor are voters like Kelly lamenting his Twitter tirades: “He’s speaking directly to the people. Like Reagan!” Dick told me over lunch. Trump’s brusque, shoot-from-the-hip conversations with world leaders and allies? “We’re not going to go to war with Australia,” Kindsvatter said.
“I think he’s pretty much following The Art of the Deal,” said Ken Warner, 60, who works in the finance industry. “He’s got the price of fighter jets down. It’s not something we’re used to. It’s a little unorthodox. Listening to his Carrier negotiation, you have to shrug on the means but can’t disagree with the ends. You don’t want to be picking winners and losers. You don’t want to see a president calling out people on Twitter. However, the results so far have not been bad. So I can’t say it’s wrong.” [snip]
“He’s done more in the two weeks he’s been president than the other president did in eight years,” Dick told me.
Even as Politico acknowledges the people of Vigo are happy with President Trump and his results thus far, the condescension that Vigo does not think like the people in places Politico has offices in is clear. The message from Vigo to President Trump? “Stand strong.” “We’re with you!”
A short while earlier, Politico published an article about alleged chaos and calamity of poor befuddled nincompoops in the White House who realize they are in over their heads and, well, “it’s over for Trump.” After thirty paragraphs of gloom and doom, Politico is forced to admit that even if Big Media and coastal elites are bothered and bewildered, President Trump supporters stand strong:
If the opening days of Trump’s presidency have been rocky and unconventional, many of his admirers aren’t bothered by it.
“I’m not disappointed in the president’s work so far — he operates like many great CEOs I know — and I hope he continues to manage the country in a manner worlds apart from the way we’ve seen in the past,” said Michael Caputo, who was a Trump campaign aide. “It’s about time.”
Ignore Big Media. How is President Trump doing?
President Trump started the working week (he also works on weekends you know) with a meeting with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that from all accounts went very well. If this was President Obama that would have been enough activity for the entire week, or month. But we’re talking about President Trump here, so a lot more was done.
Two in, one out. On Monday, President Trump mulled the questions about his good and faithful National Security Advisor Mike Flynn. By the end of the day Flynn flew.
The story of Mike Flynn is very simple. During the transition Mike Flynn spoke with the Russian Ambassador about sanctions on Russia. Mike Flynn however “misled” Vice President Pence about those conversations. Pence went on TV to say the Flynn calls did not discuss sanctions on Russia. See the problem?
Mike Flynn did not violate the law. Mike Flynn did nothing wrong. Mike Flynn was smart to have those conversations with the Russians. Mike Flynn did commit a grave crime in Trump world: stupidity.
A Seattle federal district court has issued a preliminary injunction on President Trump’s controversial immigration executive order, which temporarily banned most immigration from seven predominantly Muslim countries and also shut down the refugee program for 120 days.
The injunction, by Judge James Robart, effectively extends the temporary restraining order he issued earlier this month into an indefinite nationwide block of Trump’s immigration order.
Robart rejected calls from the Trump administration to postpone the district court case while the 9th Circuit considers a request from one of its judges for a rehearing of last week’s decision, which denied a motion to lift the restraining order. [snip]
Meanwhile, a federal court in Virginia issued a preliminary injunction on Trump’s executive order, but the edict only applies to the state. The judge in that case rejected Virginia’s request to apply the decision nationwide, restricting it to legal permanent residents of Virginia and valid visa holders who work or attend school there.
But the judge in that case, Leonie Brinkema, wrote that “the Commonwealth has produced unrebutted evidence supporting its position that it is likely to succeed on an Establishment Clause claim.”
“The ‘Muslim ban’ was a centerpiece of the president’s campaign for months, and the press release calling for it was still available on his website as of the day this [opinion] is being entered.”
“The major premise of that argument – that one can only demonstrate animus toward a group of people by targeting all of them at once – is flawed,” Brinkema added. “It is a discriminatory purpose that matters, no matter how inefficient the execution.” [snip]
While the administration is expected to release new orders, it is Evan’s understanding they will likely include introductory remarks indicating the new orders are intended to “clarify” or “supplement” the existing executive order. [snip]
Trump may issue multiple orders so that if the courts strike down one part, it wouldn’t affect the order as a whole, according to Evans’ understanding of the issue.
Evans says he believes the administration wanted to keep the 9th Circuit case active so they can take the case to the U.S. Supreme Court at the right time and reverse last week’s unfavorable ruling. [snip]
Another Trump strategy is to delay the 9th Circuit case until Neil Gorsuch, Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court, can get on the bench, according to Evans’ understanding. One way to do this is to file for a reconsideration en banc to the 9th Circuit, which is already in motion because a judge on Friday requested a judges’ vote.
“You can buy yourself 28 days,” said Evans, adding that “there’s a lot of chess and legal maneuvering going on.”
“Based on what I’ve read and seen the Trump Administration wants to maximize the chance to have the full Supreme Court decide whether the commander-in-chief indeed has the broadest discretion in deciding what is in the interest of the United States,” Evans said.
If immigration ban goes to Supreme Court, Trump is shoo-in to win [snip]
The states claim that the order’s 90-day ban on admitting lawful permanent residents and non-immigrant visa holders from Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen to the United States without notice and an opportunity to respond violates their right to due process under the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution.
But a visa does not guarantee entry into the United States. It just allows an alien to travel to a United States port-of-entry and request permission to enter. [snip]
The 90-day suspension is based on Section 212(f), which gives the president authority to exclude aliens from the United States without regard to whether they are in one of the classes described by section 212(a).
In other words, when entry is denied under section 212(f), the determination on admissibility is made by the president, not by an immigration judge. [snip]
According to the Congressional Research Service, “Neither the text of Section 212(f) nor the case law to date suggests any firm legal limits upon the president’s exercise of his authority to exclude aliens under this provision.”
It does not state even what the president should consider in determining whether the entry of an alien is “detrimental” to U.S. interests.
According to the states, the order “was not truly meant to protect against terror attacks by foreign nationals but rather was intended to enact a ‘Muslim ban’ as the president had stated during his presidential campaign that he would do.”
The states claim that therefore the Order violates the Establishment and Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution. [snip]
According to Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz, the 90-day suspension does not violate the establishment clause. President Trump picked countries that have high levels of terrorism. When you focus on real perpetrators and the impact is heavily on one particular religion, that does not create a constitutional problem.
Although the government may have to take this case all the way to the Supreme Court, I will be surprised if the order is not upheld in the end.
It’s just a matter of time. On immigration and all the current noisy battles, Trump will trump.
As week 4 progresses, Trump will be even more trumpy.
On hump day, President Trump will meet with Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel. Oh, oh, there’s sure to be a big fight between those two right? After all, Big Media reported that President Trump had just stabbed Israel in the back. Um, Big Media lied:
More Fake News: Trump ‘Opposes’ Israeli Settlements
That kind of story serves two propagandist purposes. First, it provides a kind of justification for Obama’s betrayal of Israel at the UN Security Council over settlements last month; second, it nods at the old NeverTrump claim that Trump would never keep his word to conservatives.
There’s just one problem: the story is false. [snip]
The Trump administration’s statement is a complete reversal of the Obama administration’s policy.
As legal scholar Eugene Kontorovich explains:
The White House Press Secretary’s statement about settlement building is a huge change of policy, in which the U.S. broadly accepts all building within settlements, including those settlements outside of “blocs.” This is huge.
In the statement, the White House says the building of entirely “new settlements” is not great (but not sharply criticized). On the other hand, building “within existing settlement lines,” ie municipal boundaries, is totally OK. Since all building for 20 years has been within existing lines, and all planned building is within existing lines, this is as big an authorization as it gets.
This is such a big deal, that the press is trying to spin it as a limitation on settlement activity, whereas it is a broad and historic green light. It can no longer be said that the US opposes settlement building.
Perhaps the White House deliberately spun the statement as a limitation to fool the media. That is not hard to do, and it is to President Trump’s benefit, as a negotiating tactic, to appear unpredictable — aggressive one moment, compromising the next.
Nevertheless, the Trump administration has just signaled its intent to back a permanent Jewish presence in eastern Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria (the West Bank), with or without a Palestinian state.
Israeli PM Netanyahu Becomes D.C. Darling as Democrats Clamor
After years of tense relations, Netanyahu most coveted meeting in D.C.
After years of tense relations with the United States under former President Barack Obama, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is emerging as one of the most prominent international personalities, according to multiple sources who told the Washington Free Beacon that Democrats, Republicans, and high-level White House officials are clamoring for a sit down with the Israeli leader when he arrives in town on Tuesday.
Senior officials across party lines hope to let Netanyahu know that America has Israel’s back and that years of tension during the Obama administration is just water under the bridge, according to both congressional sources and those close to the Trump administration.
Netanyahu’s schedule is already packed with powwows between President Trump, senior administration officials, and a cast of leading lawmakers on Capitol Hill from both sides of the aisle.
Meetings will center on U.S. lawmakers’ desire to reset relations with the Jewish state. Multiple sources told the Free Beacon that sit downs with White House officials will focus on holding Iran accountable for violations of the nuclear deal, moving the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, and combatting efforts at the United Nations to delegitimize Israel. [snip]
There is a strong desire among all parties to show Netanyahu that after nearly a decade of chilly relations during the former administration, the United States is prepared to restore the historic relationship with the Jewish state.
“Netanyahu’s schedule is so full that he literally can’t find time for all the high level meetings people want to have with him,” said one veteran foreign policy adviser who is closely in touch with the White House on Middle East issues. “The truth of this is, it’s nature taking its course.”
Even stab-em-in-the-back Chuckie Schumer wants to hug Bibi. It’s like a St. Valentine’s Day miracle, Jewish version.
If you want to know how President Trump is doing, ask the residents of Vigo and Benyamin Netanyahu.
For the first time in the 21st century, Americans (starting in January 20) will have a leader worthy of the people. After 16 years of horror America is not only back from the precipice of death but on to a wonderful, dare we say “great”, future. Rejoice, rejoice, there’s much for everyone to be thankful for this Thanksgiving 2016.
First of all, if you are reading this, you’re alive. Give thanks for the joys of life. Whatever “challenges” or difficulties you face, you’re alive. Be really thankful.
Because we mostly talk politics here, let’s talk politics and be thankful. For those that voted for President-Elect Donald J. Trump the joys of the season have an extra sprinkle of tidings of great joy. Think back to how the country would have gone down the drain under an Obama Third Term and all the disasters averted, and rejoice, rejoice, rejoice.
Of course, President-Elect Donald J. Trump has much to be thankful for throughout his blessed life and we are grateful he has taken on the burdens of office. President-Elect Donald J. Trump has much to be thankful for being himself.
For those that voted for Hillary Clinton you can be thankful for all the votes she received and that she now can enjoy her family in retirement. As the Clinton Global Initiative falters, because without political power the donations will dry up, lots of people will be able to find new avenues to explore and new jobs to find.
For Barack Obama and his cult you may find solace in knowing that now Barack Obama can golf and finesse his flim-flams and corruptions without having to pretend he cares for anyone other than himself. Moose and squirrel are free to enrich themselves, unless they are indicted.
Those that detest political corruption, have a great deal to rejoice about this wonderful Thanksgiving. Not only are the corrupt flung out into the streets to ply their whoring out of political office, some still in politics are facing justice. Remember the guy we wrote about several times by the name of Preet Bharara? Well, this Thanksgiving Preet Bharara lived up to what we wrote about him. Read what we wrote back in June, then enjoy this big meal cooked just in time for Thanksgiving:
The feds’ Albany corruption probe inched closer to Gov. Cuomo Thursday with the unsealing of charges against two of his most trusted former aides — who imitated “Sopranos” mobsters by using “ziti” as a code word for alleged cash payoffs tied to the governor’s pet upstate projects.
Longtime Cuomo family loyalist Joseph Percoco — whom the governor once called a “third son” to his late father, Mario — was accused of pocketing more than $315,000 in bribes by shaking down a Maryland-based energy company and a Syracuse development firm in pay-to-play schemes.
Disgraced lobbyist Todd Howe, who hired Percoco as an intern for then-Gov. Mario Cuomo, was also revealed to have secretly pleaded guilty Tuesday to a slew of graft and tax charges in a deal to cooperate with authorities.
Howe’s admitted crimes involve pocketing hundreds of thousands of dollars from developers to rig bids on multimillion-dollar state contracts linked to the upstate Buffalo Billion economic-revitalization plan — at the same time he was working as a consultant to the taxpayer-funded program. [snip]
When asked if he was willing to give Cuomo, who was not charged, a “clean bill of health,” Bharara did no such thing.
“There is no allegation of wrongdoing or misconduct by the governor anywhere in this complaint. That’s all I’m going to say,” Bharara said.
Bharara — who already has won corruption convictions against former Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and former Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos since Cuomo disbanded the Moreland Commission on corruption at the state Capitol — also declined to say if investigators had interviewed the governor as part of the continuing probe.
“I will tell you, I really do hope there’s a trial in this case so all New Yorkers can see in gory detail what their state government has been up to,” Bharara said.
Cuomo’s name does crop up repeatedly in the complaint.
The FBI has multiple investigations on the books involving the Clinton Foundation, according to The Daily Caller.
The one in New York City, where the charity is based, is reportedly headed by U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, a prosecutor who made a name for himself in the midst of the the financial crisis by acting on fraud and public corruption cases.
That the United States Attorney’s office in the Southern District of New York is chasing the case could spell trouble for the Clintons.
An official who spoke to The Daily Caller said an investigation by Bharara’s office ‘would be seen by agents as a positive development as prosecutors there are generally thought to be more aggressive than the career lawyers within the DOJ.’
The public can give thanks that the corrupt will soon be imprisoned. The corrupt can be thankful that they will live for years knowing they will have three good meals a day and free housing courtesy of the Department of Prisons. Give thanks you corrupt bastards. Give thanks. Everyone wins. Sometimes you get what you want and what you need.
Let it bleed. While investigators investigate, corruption is rooted out, we find President-Elect Donald J. Trump is busy uniting the country this Thanksgiving, being gracious, while still knowing the corruption will be removed:
What a joyous Thanksgiving. Lift a glass to the hardworking people who voted for Donald J. Trump!!! They truly are the salt of the earth who have saved the country.
Sometimes you really do get what you want. “Thanks.” Give Thanks.
Some golfer, or somebody, said “The harder you practice, the luckier you get.” Golfer Jack Nicklaus did say “I don’t believe in luck.” Ordinarily we agree with that sentiment. Hard work and preparation often lead to what is called “luck”. But with Donald J. Trump, er, President-Elect Donald J. Trump, um, come-on guy no one is that lucky, no amount of work or preparation can explain how lucky President-Elect Donald J. Trump is. Come-on, guy. Is President-Elect Donald J. Trump bribing every kook on the left or is he just lucky or are they just that koo-koo-kook???
Today we planned to discuss what President-Elect Donald J. Trump could, would, or (out of the box ideas from us) should do. It was supposed to be (and will be, as we will publish that article soon enough), a continuation of our previous discussion President Trump Revolution Blueprint Priorities: What, When, How, @RealDonaldTrump Must Do. But events of a very lucky nature for President-Elect Donald J. Trump intervened, and as a prelude to Thanksgiving, today we discuss the luck, preparation, or divine intervention on behalf of our newly minted President-Elect.
* * * * * *
Throughout his short campaign which began on June 15, 2015 and ended successfully on November 8-9, 2016 Donald J. Trump often played a song at his rallies. The song was “You can’t always get what you want” by the Rolling Stones. The chorus of the song is “You can’t always get what you want. But if you try sometimes, well you might find, you get what you need.”
On election day, for survival itself, the nation needed to get rid of Barack Obama and of necessity the Obama Third Term, which is what Hillary Clinton embodied. The country got what the country needed. America, whether by divine intervention, or as a product of human activity, got what America needed to survive. But for many, we not only got what we needed, we got what we wanted. We got President-Elect Donald J. Trump.
Likewise, Donald J. Trump got what he needed. Trump needed to win because if he had lost all Hell would have come down upon him. All the power and terror of the totalitarian left would have been loosed upon Trump and his family. Donald J. Trump got what he needed to survive. Donald J. Trump also got what he wanted – which was to lead the country and Make America Great Again.
This weekend, President-Elect Donald J. Trump got more icing on the cake with cherries on top and white and dark chocolate, and marsh-mellows, and syrup and sparklers, and Christmas/Thanksgiving/New Year’s and the Fourth of July combined. All these treats came, special delivery prime, with bows and ribbons, gift wrapped in gold leaf gorgeousness, courtesy of the kook left. It was as if Santa emptied his toy factory, the Easter bunny ovaries worked a lifetime of chocolate egg production, the Tooth Fairy rewarded every tooth ever lost, the Three Kings unpacked their camels, and every Hanukkah gelt and dreidel, was gifted to President-Elect Donald J. Trump.
Obama — concluding the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Lima — acknowledged that he wouldn’t hesitate to play critic in a Trump presidency if “necessary.” [snip]
“If there’s specifics that have less to do with some proposal or battle but goes to the core questions about our values and our ideals, and if I think that it’s necessary or helpful for me to defend those ideal then I’ll examine it when it comes.”
Did President-Elect Donald J. Trump pay Barack Obama to say something so stupid??? What else could it be? How else to explain the full stupidity of this?? Obama’s legacy was on the ballot in November, sez B.O.:
An angry Obama puts himself on the ballot
Declaring he would consider it “a personal insult, an insult to my legacy” if black turnout falters for Hillary Clinton, Obama did what he got reamed for doing almost exactly two years ago, in the heat of midterm elections in which disdain for him was the defining force: Yes, he said, he is pretty much on the ballot in November.
“My name may not be on the ballot, but our progress is on the ballot,” Obama said, his voice rising to a shout as he went well beyond what sources familiar with the speech said was a tamer version of the riff in the prepared remarks.
Obama lost. Everything went up in smoke. The 10 year plan, the 40 year plan, ObamaCare, TPP – it all went up in smoke – the “transformational world historic” Obama is less than a footnote, less than an asterisk, less than a parenthesis, now.
Most importantly the nonsense about the “Obama coalition” is proven to be nothing but what we termed back in the 2008 election cycle: the demographics of a situation comedy. Why is this all so important? Because the Democratic Party cannot begin to function, cannot recover from the Mistake in ’08 until and unless Barack Obama is repudiated by the Democratic Party.
The strategic mission for the GOP for the next several years should be to make sure that Barack Obama is the face of the Democratic Party for ever and ever. The GOP should not let any rational voice emerge within the Democratic Party. The minute any Democrat politician or interest group so much as suggests that Barack Obama does not represent the Democrat Party and/or that Barack Obama is the reason the Democrat Party is a pile of rubble – the GOP should insist that person is A RACIST!
Barack Obama wants to control the Democrat Party and the GOP should help Obama in that task. The GOP should denounce any and all rational people who want to get rid of Barack Obama, destroyer of the Democrat Party, as a racist – thereby insuring generations of Republican Party control of the Executive and Legislative branches of government.
In 2020 when the national parties meet in convention the GOP should do everything to make sure Barack Obama is center stage at the Democrat convention. If the Democrats in convention try to nudge Obama to anything but the center stage in prime time (like what they did to nonperson Jimmy Carter), the Republican Party should call them out and suggest the Democrat Party is a nest of racists out to deny Barack Obama all the glory he is due.
That Barack Obama destroyed the Democrat Party is now beyond dispute. The goal of the GOP for the next several election cycles should be to keep the Democrat Party in the hole Obama dug. Dig it??? To borrow from the poet Milton, let Obama rule in Hell, the GOP can serve in Heaven.
If Barack Obama, contra George W. Bush who did not critique Barack Obama, wants to be the face of the Democrat Party, let him. Insist on it. Barack Obama as the face of the Democrat Party, is like putting the picture of a rat with blood drenched teeth and diseased fur, on the label of a glass jar of baby food. Ugh!
President-Elect Donald J. Trump had more unsavory news this past weekend which might be painful, but which undoubtedly helps him enormously. That nasty John Wilkes Booth style ambush at the theater against Vice-President-Elect Mike Pence reminds Trump voters of what they are up against. Even within the left, haters of Trump and Pence, the ambush of Pence made no sense:
Steven Van Zandt of the E Street Band, one who is not shy about making pointed political statements, feels the cast of “Hamilton: An American Musical” bullied Vice President-elect Mike Pence when a cast member addressed Pence from the stage at the Friday, Nov. 18 performance.
“It was the most respectful, benign form of bullying ever. But bullying nonetheless. And by the way, human rights must be won, not asked for,” said Van Zandt in a series of tweets on Saturday, Nov. 19. “When artists perform the venue becomes your home. The audience are your guests. It’s taking unfair advantage of someone who thought they were a protected guest in your home”
“A guy comes to a Broadway show for a relaxing night out. Instead he gets a lecture from the stage! Not a level playing field. It’s bullying. You don’t single out an audience member and embarrass him from the stage. A terrible precedent to set.”
Abuse and bullying by the left is generally ignored by Big Media. But the ambush attack against the genial Mike Pence, well, made no sense because it alienated even those who don’t like the results of the election. Lucky winner? President-Elect Donald J. Trump who defended Vice-President-Elect Mike Pence.
Mike Pence is not the only one bullied by the leftist totalitarians. On Sunday night, Melania Trump was bullied and abused. Imagine what would happen if lantern-jawed Michelle Obama was mocked on a nationally broadcast awards show the way the lovely Melania Trump was bullied:
The hosts of the 2016 American Music Awards, Gigi Hadid and Jay Pharoah, used their joint opening monologue to rib President-elect Donald Trump and incoming first lady Melania Trump.
Hadid tried to embody Melania Trump, saying that she had been working on the impression “all week.” The supermodel puckered her lips, saying: “I gotta get the face right.”
“I love my husband…,” Hadid, 21, started in a thick accent.
Without a doubt this abuse of the lovely and gentle Melania Trump must hurt the entire Trump family. Trump voters and supporters are incensed by this abuse. Cold blooded bottom line analysis? This helps President-Elect Donald J. Trump because his voters are reminded of the how low the Democrats can go.
Also, even though President-Elect Donald J. Trump does not like being victimized, the fact is that any decent American that sees Melania Trump bullied and abused, mocked and jeered at by an ugly thing on TV in a silly awards show, will feel sympathy for the entire Trump family. Every time President-Elect Donald J. Trump and President Donald J. Trump make the case against Big Media, this attack against the next First Lady will be Exhibit #1.
As we have written repeatedly, Big Media is the enemy. The Hollywood establishment and the lowlifes of the entertainment industry are but another swamp that must be drained. Fortunately, for every American who sees the need to destroy Big Media and the cohorts of the left, Donald J. Trump will soon be President of the United States. Sometimes you get what you need.
This here Trump feller is one smart cookie. He’s a chess player yes. But he’s an even better poker player. During the primaries when the election was fixed against him in favor of Jeb Bush, Trump repeatedly said that if the Republican Party did not treat him fairly he would walk, and take his millions of voters along. The result was the Republican Party forced a loyalty oath on him, which Trump craftily used to trap the other nominees and the Party hierarchy, which in the end resulted in a Trump nomination victory.
Trump knew all about the art of the deal and Trump knew the GOP could not afford to lose his voters. As Trump won primaries, the GOP establishment in the form of the Mitt Romney clowns tried to use Ted Cruz as their cat’s paw to destroy Trump. Instead Trump beat them all. But rust never sleeps and these rusty political clowns continued to troll the streets in an attempt to scare Donald J. Trump.
Twelve days into October we can see the green felt table in the Riverboat with Donald J. Trump, in a vest, bands around his biceps, over his white cotton shirt, a Maverick style cowboy hat with silver band on his head tilted back, playing high stakes poker with blue eyed pus*y boy Paul Ryan.
Question: “When you’re not talking about politics, what do you and your father talk about?”
When you see a bush, a pus*y boy is not far behind…
Paul Ryan thought he was clever. The tricks the little blue eyed pus*y boy plays on Capitol Hill, he thought, would be used against Trump to great effect. First, before-during-after the convention, attack Trump every chance you get for whatever Trump says all the while pretending you have made your peace with the Trump nomination. Second, at a crucial moment before a debate and a few weeks before the election, finally announce at the end of a press release that you invited Donald J. Trump for the first time to a campaign event in your home district. Third, after the invitation release the tape that shocks pus*y boys, in order to destroy Trump. Fourth, signal the grassy knoll firing squad with a very public “disinvitation” and denunciation of Trump. Fifth, get pus*y boy Mormon and Romney ally Jason Chaffetz to withdraw his endorsement. Sixth, get more pus*sies to disendorse Trump. Seven, after Ayotte, McCain, and tens of other GOPers denounce Trump, have everyone call on Trump to withdraw and hint the replacement will be the VP nominee Mike Pence even though everyone knows it would be Paul Ryan.
Paul Ryan’s plan never would have worked but Ryan never thought of that, because Ryan is a pus*y boy about to be schlonged by the big fingered Trump.
Why would the Paul Ryan plan never have worked? Because Trump is a fighter that does not quit. Trump wrote the Art of the Deal so he knows how to negotiate. Trump knows when to hold them and when to fold them. In short, Trump is a smart man and Paul Ryan is a pus*y boy. The definition of a pus*y boy? A pus*y boy does not have a strong woman’s vagina – he is only good at getting fuc*ed.
So after all the plotting, pus*y boy Paul Ryan found himself at a green felt table, in a Riverboat, playing poker with Donald J. Trump, six-shooters at his side fully loaded and rarin’ to blast. Trump got dealt his hand and then pus*y boy grabbed his, um, cards. Pus*y boy Paul placed his bet that Trump would get out after Trump saw all the chips arrayed against him.
Pus*y boy Paul placed his chips on the table – Chaffetz, the Gropinator Arnold Schwarzenegger (the guy that groped all those women and who while married to a Kennedy, impregnated his own maid), John McCain (the guy that has the dirtiest mouth in D.C. having even called his own wife a “cunt” and a “whore”), and threats of more, although Trump knew pus*y boy Paul had no more chips to play. Trump knew that at the Wisconsin event Trump was disinvited from some in the home town crowd booed the pus*y boy. Trump knew that Joe Heck of Nevada was also booed for his attacks on Trump. Trump knew he held, the trump cards.
So after pus*y boy Paul placed his bet, piled all his chips in the center of the table, the moment arrived. Would Trump meet the bet? Or would Trump fold, throw down his cards in surrender? Trump did what the pus*y boy never expected. Trump not only met the bet, Trump did what Trump does – TRUMP RAISED THE STAKES!!!!!
Trump put his chips on the table. Trump’s chips are the Republican Party at every level, the House of Representatives, and the U.S. Senate. Trump made it clear: “if I walk, I take my voters with me and you lose not only the White House, the Supreme Court, the Senate but you also lose all your power in the House of Representatives.” Trump made it clear he understood that a House of Representatives run by a Republican pus*y boy and a Senate run by a self interested conniver would stand up to the next president about as much as they stood up to Barack Obama. Trump knew without him in the White House TPP would pass almost immediately as would illegal immigration amnesty – and the Supreme Court that bowed to Obama on ObamaCare would be even worse. So Trump knew his voters and the American People had nothing to lose. Without Trump in the White House it was all over. So Trump raised the stakes in an international game of poker that even James Bond would not dare play.
Members on the call with Ryan described tense exchanges. The call lasted for about 45 minutes, before abruptly ending.
However, the Republican National Committee has pledged its continued support.
Some of the GOP’s most conservative lawmakers also continue to back Trump and chastise those who have abandoned him.
“We have to get on board. It’s all in or nothing,” Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert, who was on Ryan’s call, told Fox News on Tuesday.
He said 11 House members are with Ryan, whom Gohmert also lambasted for saying his focus is now on ensuring that Clinton doesn’t enter the White House with Democrats having taken control of the House, too.
“It’s not going to happen,” said Gohmert, arguing the Republicans now control the House and Senate but have not effectively stopped the Obama administration’s agenda.
Another House member on the call said outspoken California Rep. Dana Rohrabacher called Republican leaders “cowards.”
Pus*y Ryan and the GOP establishment only have energy to attack Donald J. Trump. The GOP establishment coddles Obama. Promises from the GOP of future action are null and void ab initio.
Pus*y boy Paul thought he could play his games and win. Then Trump raised the stakes. In retrospect, Trump was always going to win.
There are some Trump supporters, Monica Crowley on Tuesday night for instance, who believe that Donald J. Trump should let surrogates attack the GOP and that Trump should only go after Hillary2016. We respectfully disagree.
We believe Donald J. Trump should continue to be unshackled for the remainder of the week. Trump has been getting his kicks in at the opposition party in the form of Hillary2016. But Donald J. Trump’s real opposition is the ruling class establishment – particularly the establishment of the Republican Party – and Big Media. We think Trump should continue to break the GOP Quislings and Big Media all this week and into next.
Trump can turn his attacks and attention against Hillary2016 after he dispatches his GOP opposition party. Next week there will be another debate. Trump can go to the debate having defeated the GOP establishment and Big Media. Then Trump can take on Hillary2016.
Donald J. Trump loves Wikileaks. Donald J. Trump loves to play high stakes poker. Donald J. Trump loves to win.
Donald J. Trump holds the trump cards. Despite all the cooked polls immediately after Friday to be followed by a dramatic rise after the second debate all the higher, Donald J. Trump will win. Why? Because it’s a change election. That’s all you need to know.
An atomic bomb before the second presidential debate just exploded inside #Hillary2016. Total devastation ensues. Donald J. Trump cannot possibly want more for Sunday. We hope Trump’s prep team knows how to exploit all the good news. Indeed, there is so much good news for Trump it is very difficult to fully focus on all the good news. Even the “bad” news for Trump, in light of history might very well turn out to be more “good” news. Let’s look at the alleged “bad” news first.
The “bad” news is that as the nuclear bomb wiped out Hillary2016 Brooklyn hindquarters, at the same time a tape emerged from a decade ago with “locker room banter” of Trump with Billy Bush. Trump crudely assesses his love of women. The Hillary Clinton campaign will in desperation cling to this tape. Hillary Clinton has already tried to use the issue.
Um, is this the dumbest response ever??? Doesn’t Hillary Clinton remember that in 1992 there were many “bimbo eruptions” with rape allegations, Gennifer Flowers in a press conference asked about Bill Clinton’s penis size and whether or not he used a condom when he penetrated her, with the result that a country desperate for CHANGE voted for Bill Clinton despite all the “bimbo eruptions“???
Dumbest response ever!!!
Hillary Clinton’s response is a sign of her entire strategy for Sunday’s debate. Hillary will once again goad, goad, goad, goad, goad, Donald J. Trump. As we advised before the first debate, Donald Trump should not be goaded into foolishness. In fact, all the great advice we provided for Trump and Pence (was any pre-debate analysis better than ours?) holds for this coming debate.
Hillary Clinton will try to goad Donald Trump into silly side issues at the debate. Hopefully Trump will ignore the silly issues and get to the powerful responses he can provide. There is some hope Trump will heed our advice at the second debate because Trump immediately turned to Bill Clinton for help after the tape emerged. Trump said Bill Clinton had said worse to him on the golf course. We imagine that Newt Gingrich might soon come forth with his memories of when Bill Clinton in the White House told him ‘there is nothing better than a glass of Scotch, a cigar, and some pus*y’.
Trump’s immediate go to Bill Clinton for his defense is smart. When we first started considering what Trump and Hillary should do at the second debate we thought Bill Clinton should have been the topic of greatest value for Trump. As we advised Mike Pence, we thought Pence should use Bill Clinton’s attack on ObamaCare as the focus of the second debate. Not any more. Donald Trump has even bigger fish to fry.
We’ll get back to ObamaCare. But the paramount issue of Sunday’s debate exploded in a mushroom cloud in Brooklyn today.
The nuclear bomb that just took out Hillary2016 was dropped by Wikileaks. The entire Donald J. Trump campaign message is now surrounded by steel because the Wikileaks revelations confirms the worst anyone imagined about what Hillary Clinton told Wall Street executives in private, behind closed doors. Bernie Sanders was an idiot not to hinge his entire campaign, as we advised, on the transcripts of Hillary Clinton’s paid speeches. The transcripts of those speeches are the biggest nuclear bomb ever to drop on a presidential campaign:
Excerpts from Hillary Clinton’s closed-door paid speeches, including to financial firms, appeared to be made public for the first time on Friday when WikiLeaks published thousands of hacked emails from her campaign chairman.
The speech transcripts, a major subject of contention during the Democratic primary, include quotes from Clinton about her distance from middle-class life (“I’m kind of far removed”); her vision of strategic governing (“you need both a public and a private position”); and her views on trade, health care, and Wall Street (“even if it may not be 100 percent true, if the perception is that somehow the game is rigged.”)
John Podesta, the Clinton campaign chairman, was the latest victim in a wave of hacks on key figures in Democratic politics and the political establishment in what administration officials say is an effort by Russia to undermine the election.
Clinton research director Tony Carrk sent the excerpts in an email to Podesta and other senior aides, sourcing the “the flags from HRC’s paid speeches” to the Harry Walker Agency, the firm that represented Clinton and arranged her dozens of public and private paid speech deals after she left the State Department in early 2013.
The email is dated Jan. 25, 2016, with the subject line, “HRC Paid Speeches.” [snip]
During this year’s long-fought Democratic primary, Sen. Bernie Sanders repeatedly pressed Clinton to release the transcripts of the speeches, which were delivered to a variety of groups, including major firms like Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank. [snip]
Late into the primary, Sanders argued that the American people had a right to know what Clinton told well-heeled audiences on Wall Street about her economic policy. [snip]
“My dream is a hemispheric common market, with open trade and open borders,” Clinton is quoted as telling a Brazilian Bank in 2013. “We have to resist, protectionism, other kinds of barriers to market access and to trade.”
The great bulk of the Trump campaign is the claim that Trump will protect and defend American borders and defeat trade deals that hurt the United States. Hillary’s statement to a Brazilian Bank “My dream is a hemispheric common market, with open trade and open borders’” is confirmation of Trump’s campaign message.
In addition Hillary Clinton’s greatest weakness this election cycle is the question of what she says to the powerful behind closed doors and what she tells the public. As in Benghazi the charge is that Hillary in public blamed a video while in private she knew it was a terrorist attack that destroyed the American installation and killed the ambassador and several other brave Americans.
Freakin’ “open borders”??????????
Millennials and Bernie Sanders kooks are now easy for Trump to appeal to. Anyone that believed Hillary Clinton on TPP and/or “open borders” is proved a dunce.
But it is “OPEN BORDERS” that atomically exploded and wiped out Hillary2016. Total devastation:
Wikileaks Dump: Hillary Dreams of ‘Open Trade and Open Borders’
In excerpts from paid speeches, Clinton admits to taking different public and private positions
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton admitted she takes two positions on policy issues.
One in private — ostensibly, the “real” position and one for the public, according to a damaging email leak of released on Friday by Wikileaks that included clips of Clinton’s paid speeches to Wall Street banks and other organizations.
“You just have to sort of figure out how to — getting back to that word, ‘balance’ — how to balance the public and the private efforts that are necessary to be successful, politically, and that’s not just a comment about today,” Clinton said in a speech for the National Multi-Housing Council on April 23, 2013. “It is unsavory, and it always has been that way, but we usually end up where we need to be. But if everybody’s watching, you know, all of the back room discussions and the deals, you know, then people get a little nervous, to say the least. So, you need both a public and a private position.”
Supporters of U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, the independent socialist from Vermont, are likely to be turned off by remarks that Clinton wants open borders and open trade.
“My dream is a hemispheric common market, with open trade and open borders, some time in the future with energy that is as green and sustainable as we can get it, powering growth and opportunity for every person in the hemisphere,” Clinton told Banco Itau, a Brazilian bank, on May 16, 2013.
For Trump, who has campaigned against illegal immigration and bad trade deals, the remark is a gold mine likely to be brought up at Sunday’s town hall debate.
Bernie Sanders’ supporters and millennials should be outraged. Donald J. Trump can use the “hemispheric common market, with open trade and open borders” to savagely attack on Sunday. That is not the only attack Trump can use to lure millennials. There is ObamaCare. There is Bill Clinton calling it the craziest thing he has ever seen. Donald J. Trump can point out to millennials that they are the ones forced to buy the crap called ObamaCare.
Donald J. Trump on Sunday can remind Americans of all the lies told by Obama on ObamaCare and how Hillary Clinton attacked Bernie Sanders to blast Sanders as somehow racist because ObamaCare is a mess. Hillary Clinton’s support of ObamaCare, in public, should be a highlight of Trump’s Sunday response.
>ObamaCare’s Meltdown Has Arrived
With insurers pulling back, half of Tennesseans covered under the plan are losing their coverage.
Tennessee is ground zero for ObamaCare’s nationwide implosion. Late last month the state insurance commissioner, Julie Mix McPeak, approved premium increases of up to 62% in a bid to save the exchange set up under the Affordable Care Act. “I would characterize the exchange market in Tennessee as very near collapse,” she said.
Stuart Varney forced one of the horrible Emanuel brothers to confess that the Hillary plan to save ObamaCare is more taxpayer dollars for subsidies, more taxpayer dollars for insurance companies, and greater penalties for those that don’t get forced ObamaCare. Donald Trump should tell millennials that ObamaCare will continue to loot their pockets and the penalties for not bowing down to ObamaCare will cost them thousands more:
Higher penalties to pay for junk insurance with high deductibles and ever higher premiums. ObamaCare!
ObamaCare and open borders!!!! “Let’s vote on it.” That’s what Donald J. Trump has to declare on Sunday’s second presidential debate.
Sunday’s debate will be a “town hall”. This means that Martha Raddatz and Anderson Cooper will pretend audience members will ask the candidates questions. In reality Martha and Anderson will write questions and they select some dupe in the audience to ask the question. Fortunately for Donald J. Trump he is very good in this type of forum.
Hillary Clinton’s smartest move on Sunday is to goad Donald J. Trump with attacks on his father and his family. Donald J. Trump’s smartest move is not to allow himself to be goaded but instead focus on “open borders” and ObamaCare. Those are winners for him. Trump at every turn should be kind and gracious to the audience and turn every answer into an attack on “open borders” and ObamaCare.
Whenever Hillary Clinton says anything Trump can ask if that is her public or private view. Then Trump can ask Hillary why she has not executed her proposal over her decades in office. Then Trump can ask Hillary why Obama has not done what she proposes. Rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat.
The immediate problem for Democrats this year is simple, really: it is hard to criticize power when your own leader is the most powerful person in the land.
The larger problem facing them is the terminal irrelevance of their great, overarching campaign theme. Remember the “man from Hope”? “Hope is on the way”? “Keep hope alive”? Well, this year “hope” is most assuredly dead. Thanks to Obama’s flagrant hope-dealing in the dark days of 2008 – followed up by his failure to reverse the disintegration of the middle class – this favorite Democratic cliché has finally become just that: an empty phrase. Today as the Democrats go into battle against Trump, they find that their rallying cry has lost its magic. Hillary is discovering how difficult it is to win an election without hope.
Mike Pence, as we wrote, has a lot of ammo against Candy Kaine and Pence just got an additional boost from Bill Clinton just in time for tonight’s VP debate. We can’t believe Bill Clinton was this dense. Perhaps Bill is tense and thereby decided to make sense and call out Hillary’s pro-Obama nonsense. Hence, Bill Clinton slammed ObamaCare:
Bill Clinton slams ObamaCare as ‘craziest thing in the world’
Bill Clinton, the husband of the Democratic presidential nominee, knocked President Obama’s signature piece of legislation — the ObamaCare health care law — as “the craziest thing in the world.”
“You’ve got this crazy system where all of a sudden 25 million more people have health care, and then the people who are out there busting it, sometimes 60 hours a week, wind up with their premiums doubled and their coverage cut in half and it’s the craziest thing in the world,” the former president railed at a rally in Michigan on Monday.
Clinton also said the system is hurting moderately successful small businesses — the ones that aren’t doing poorly enough to be subsidized and fall just above the line.
Mike Pence can use this issue to attack “good Catholic” Candy Kaine and his support for ObamaCare and the war against the Little Sisters of the Poor.
Mike Pence did not need Bill Clinton’s attacks on ObamaCare in order to fence with Candy Kaine and win. But Bill Clinton’s bout of honesty about ObamaCare helps Pence send Candy Kaine to the hospital, licked, bruised and beaten.
The Affordable Care Act is Barack Obama’s signature achievement as president. It is the Democratic Party’s most important legislative accomplishment in two generations. It is something Hillary Clinton, although she left the Senate by the time ACA became law in 2010, worked for all her adult life.
So why doesn’t Clinton at least mention this great achievement as she campaigns for president?
A look at transcripts of Clinton stump speeches since she kicked off the general election campaign on Labor Day finds the Democratic candidate almost never talks about Obamacare. She doesn’t promise to expand it. She doesn’t promise to protect it. She doesn’t extol its benefits. She just doesn’t mention it.
There’s no doubt Obamacare is in trouble. Enrollment in the exchanges has fallen far short of projections. The purchasers of policies have turned out to be older, and in need of more care, than expected. Major insurers are pulling out of the exchanges altogether. Premiums are going up. Deductibles are skyrocketing, meaning many are left to pay most of their healthcare costs themselves.
Here’s one all-too-common headline, from Bloomberg on Friday: “Near ‘Collapse,’ Minnesota to Raise Obamacare Rates by Half.” The situation is being repeated around the country.
Mike Pence should force corrupt Candy Kaine to defend what Hillary Clinton won’t defend. Candy Kaine should be forced to beat up on the Little Sisters of the Poor on national television.
There is a lot for Candy Kaine to defend. Hillary Clinton has recently been attacking Wells Fargo bank for their corruptions. Mike Pence should force Candy Kaine to attack Warren Buffet who owns a big chunk of Wells Fargo as he raises money for Hillary2016.
Candy Kaine should also address the tax avoidance strategies of Hillary and Bill Clinton, particularly those on their estate Trust. For that matter Candy Kaine should be forced to defend himself for his tax increases record as opposed to the tax cutting record of Mike Pence. It’s dollars and cents, it’s the economy stupid.
For that matter Mike Pence might ask Candy Kaine about the tax avoidance strategies of Hillary and Bill Clinton and why they are aghast at Trump’s tax deductions when they took their tax avoidance schemes so far as to dispense with old underwear, old shower curtains, old jogging shorts, and other junk, in order not to pay taxes.
And as we wrote, Candy Kaine should be forced to explain his own corruptions and profits from money he was given. Candy Kaine has a lot of ‘splaining to do. Candy Kaine should explain his corruptions and the #RiggedSystem in English not Spanish.
The only possible salvation for Candy Kaine tonight from Mike Pence is the bizarre broadcasting of the VP debate at the same time as a big baseball game. We won’t waste our time watching grown men chase balls and get paid handsomely for the childishness. We’ll be watching and reading the comments section for outrageous insults, barbed wire wit, and shouts of jeers and cheers. Debate night at Big Pink is a frat house meets sorority house festival of joy. Get thee hence!
Why Tim Kaine, Mike Pence may be the most important VP candidates in years [snip]
“In terms of age, this is the oldest match up in presidential history, so it may be more important to focus on the VP candidates than in past presidential elections,” Merolla noted. Trump is 70 and Clinton is 68. At age 57, Pence is a year younger than Kaine.
Donald Trump versus Hillary Clinton is asymmetric warfare. The showdown between Mike Pence and Tim Kaine Tuesday night will be, for the first and only time in this campaign, a symmetric warfare matchup, with a governor and former lawmaker going against a lawmaker and former governor.
But everyone knows the Pence-Kaine showdown will really be about Trump and Clinton. And with Donald Trump under 24/7 attack from the Clinton camp, the Democratic Party, and much of the media, Mike Pence will be the man under pressure Tuesday night at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia.
How will Pence deal with it? First of all, he has prepared. A lot. He’s been working since the convention, enlisting a former Trump rival, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, to play Kaine in the debate preps. He has done mock debates. He has gone through four big binders of material multiple times, plus a bunch of videos.
In other words, Pence has done the old-fashioned, conventional-style debate preparation that Trump eschewed. And remember, Pence’s prep is on top of his dozen years in the House of Representatives, with service on the Foreign Affairs, Judiciary, and Agriculture committees, plus three years in the Indiana governor’s office.
But Pence had to prepare for more than questions on jobs, national security, immigration, Obamacare, and other issues. He knows that he must also be ready to be quizzed, or attacked, on virtually every controversial thing Donald Trump has said in the course of a long campaign. That’s something the Foreign Affairs committee did not prepare its members to do.
On that score, Pence has been doing his prep right out in the open. [snip]
The bottom line is, Pence has not shied away from hostile interviews. He knows how the game works in this campaign. And he knows the game will be on in Farmville.
Unlike the man at the top of the ticket, Pence has worked with one team of advisers this whole campaign. They are the ones helping him prepare for the debate. It’s been a thorough process — again, unlike the top of the ticket.
None of that guarantees Pence will win. Tim Kaine has his strengths. But if things go his way Tuesday night, Pence has an opportunity not only to win, and not only to help a Republican ticket that has had a hard week. He has an opportunity to show his boss how it’s done.
In July we wrote that “Pence makes sense” as a VP choice. Tonight we will see if our analysis was correct not only on the rust belt strategy but on the man himself.
Tonight, without recompense, we will watch Mike Pence use eloquence to make an intense yet condensed defense by going on offense with good horse sense and thereby make a dense, no sense, drop his pretense and dispense with his misrepresents in the very state from whence he came.
Update: Trump’s taxes are a thing? Hillary and Bill Clinton donated Bill’s used underwear to avoid paying taxes (old shoes, old shower curtains, old jogging shorts too). So why does Hillary2016 think Trump’s tax losses in 1995 are a problem? Trump lost about a billion dollars back then (which proves Trump is a billionaire contra Mark Cuban’s assertions) and legally spread his losses over future years. Who wouldn’t do that?
At Tuesday’s debate, tax cutter Mike Pence can point out that the government wastes so much money most Americans want to pay the least taxes legally possible and thereby attack Candy Kaine – the tax and spend loser. Stop wasting our money and Americans will feel less hesitant to pay taxes. Mike Pence, if the topic is broached by tax increaser Candy Kaine at the debate, can note how billionaire Hillary2016 supporters Warren Buffet and others shelter their tax liabilities with every scheme imaginable. Hypocrites.
The problem is not Trump’s taxes, the problem is how our tax dollars are wasted. It’s time for a change and Mike Pence has a chance to make the case tomorrow.
This coming Tuesday, VP nominee Mike Pence has a chance to do Donald J. Trump two solid favors. First, as a conventional politician, Pence will demonstrate how a debate strategy carried out with message discipline can be both powerful and the theme developed with focus to open like flower petals on a beautiful bloom. Second Mike Pence can set the table for the second presidential debate by linking many of Donald Trump’s critiques of Hillary Clinton to Candy Kaine.
What is Candy Kaine? Rather, WHO is Candy Kaine? Candy Kaine is not Tim Kaine’s wife. Candy Kaine is not a clever union of Candy Crowley and Tim Kaine. Kandy Caine, er, Candy Kaine is the man we wrote about in July:
Is the #SystemRigged? Tim Kaine received an $18,000 Caribbean vacation for free and legally. Is the #SystemRigged? How many free $18,000 vacations have you received for free? Is our political class “crooked”? Is the #SystemRigged to benefit the political class overlords at the expense of the taxpayer citizens? You betcha!
WASHINGTON — Barr Pharmaceuticals gave Gov. Tim Kaine of Virginia a ride on a private jet to a meeting in Aspen, Colo., at a time in 2006 when it was lobbying him over issues related to its drug sales, state records show.
Dominion Resources, Virginia’s largest electric utility and a lobbying force in the state’s capital, Richmond, picked up the tab for a trip that Mr. Kaine took that same year to the college basketball Final Four tournament (and a funeral) in Indianapolis, according to the records.
McCandlish Holton PC, a law and lobbying firm that represented Virginia’s small vineyards and worked closely with Mr. Kaine’s office to create a new system for distributing wine produced by the vineyards, presented Mr. Kaine with four cases of wine in 2007, the records show, the same year he signed the legislation into law.
Under Virginia’s lax ethics rules at the time, the gifts, which had a total value of more than $160,000, were all legal as long as they were disclosed.
Is the system rigged? Picture yourself with a mask on as you rob a bank. After the robbery you disclose you are the criminal. No problem, keep the money, you disclosed your crime. System rigged.
Donald J. Trump says the system is rigged. Hillary Clinton does all within her power to prove Trump correct with her choice of Tim Kaine:
“It would be naïve to think a pharmaceutical company like Teva was not interested in maintaining access to the governor as a result of a gift of that size,” said Andrew P. Miller, a former Democratic attorney general in Virginia, who now works as an energy industry lawyer and lobbyist, referring to Teva Pharmaceuticals, which bought Barr in 2008.
Donald J. Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, wasted little time in starting to attack Mr. Kaine, branding him on Friday night as “corrupt Kaine” and continuing with the criticism during a Sunday morning news interview.
“He took over $160,000 of gifts. And they said, well they weren’t really gifts. They were suits, and trips and lots of different things. Over $160,000,” Mr. Trump said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “I think to me it is a big problem.”
The system is rigged. The system is corrupt. Emails once again provide proof. The more corrupt a politician is, the higher he rises:
Corruption is the mark of Kaine. Kaine must get his candy. Candy Kaine gets his goodies in the corrupt system Donald J. Trump is fighting against.
Governor Mike Pence is not enamoured of political invective so he might not be willing to call the corrupt VP candidate “Candy Kaine”. But perhaps Mike Pence with his eerie resemblance to Race Bannon might mention all the candy Kaine has licked and loved.
At the next debate, Candy Kaine will try to goad Mike Pence on social issues. We suspect that Mike Pence will exhibit message discipline and respond with a judo style defense and flip every attack back to the candy from the corrupt, rigged system. Mike Pence will also talk about how he cut taxes and how Candy Kaine left his mark with tax increases.
Mike Pence should talk about how the system is rigged against working Americans. Mike Pence should talk about how Donald J. Trump is against the rigged system.
Mike Pence at the next debate will exhibit message discipline then pass the ball to the lead player so he can score big at the next presidential debate.
