The delusion was this: Barack Obama and the coalition of the ascendant would win in 2008 and soon there would be an economic revival such that Democrats would get all the credit. This would lead to 40 years of voters rewarding the Democratic Party with victory just as voters rewarded Democrats for 40 years after FDR – until it all came crashing down with the Republican takeover of the House of Representatives in 1994.
Of course, Barack Obama bungled the supposed economic recovery. In 2008 Obama inflicted his flim-flam stimulus and the deadly ObamaCare plans on the nation. Both such disasters that by the time they passed the nation revolted and rewarded Republicans.
The failed Obama economy of the first term did not sober up the Dimocrats. This time they were doubly sure of the 40 year plan. The thinking was “well, it didn’t work in 2008 but boy oh boy it will work in 2012 for sure by golly”. Again the notion was that in 2012 Barack Obama would win reelection and that would lead to a massive economic recovery and once again the Democrats would get the credit, as they got the credit for FDR, and that economic revival would lead to 40 years of voter rewards and endless power for Obama Dimocrats.
Now the 40 year plan works in favor of President-elect Donald J. Trump. If, as we suspect, President Donald J. Trump leads the nation to a great economic boom and lives up to “Make America Great Again” it will be President Donald J. Trump and the Republicans who will be rewarded for generations by the voters.
So tepid and limp-wristed was the Obama economy that Americans felt under siege even as Obama and his dimwitted acolytes praised his policies for the “recovery”. The Obama years felt to Americans as recession years or depression years. The Obama 40 year plan hit the brick wall of economic failure at home, trillions of taxpayer dollars wasted, managed decline at home and abroad for this once great nation.
President Donald J. Trump has changed all that. Barack Obama was the flaccid child of weakness and logorrhea. President Donald J. Trump is a Churchill style leader who ends America’s darkest hours.
Go to a brick and mortar store this Christmas season (Merry Christmas!!! Happy Chanukah!!!) and see the crowds gleefully shopping!!!! Americans see America in glory and are full of real HOPE and real honest CHANGE:
American optimism on the economy is reaching new heights and President Donald Trump’s approval ratings look to be benefiting, at least somewhat.
The CNBC All-American Economic Survey found that for the first time in at least 11 years, more than half of respondents to the survey rated the economy as good or excellent, while a near record 41 percent expected the economy to improve in the next year.
“We’re not measuring a marginal change in the economy, we’re measuring a different economy,” said Public Opinion Strategies’ Micah Roberts, the Republican pollster for the survey. [snip]
The survey found that 42 percent of Americans expect their wages to rise in the next year, and 41 percent of homeowners see their home values going up, the highest level recorded since 2007. In 2011, while the country remained in an economic funk from the financial crisis, just 15 percent of homeowners thought their home prices would rise.
“2017 is the year that Americans finally put the recession behind them in terms of their attitudes about the economy, and it took a change in leadership” to make it happen, said Roberts.
That’s real HOPE and real CHANGE even as Big Media deceptively describes an America filled with the same fear Big Media feels as President Trump continues his relentless rally to Make America Great Again.
Those leftist and/or deluded Americans that hate President Trump and make their views known continue to resist. But even these haters are shopping because even the “resistance” can’t resist shopping, can’t resist feeling the economic improvement, can’t resist real HOPE and CHANGE.
The Obama Dimocrats 40 year plan is quickly becoming a Trump America 40 year plan. It is President Trump who brings economic recovery that can be felt in the streets, Wall Street and Main Street. It is President Trump who brings the economic recovery that can be felt at every kitchen table. It is President Trump and the Trump Republicans who will reap the political benefits in much the same way as the FDR recovery (fueled mostly by war spending) led to 40 years of Democratic Party rule.
Trump’s Terrific Tax Triumph is the exclamation point to the economic recovery already underway. President Trump unshackled the American economy by getting rid of the chains of regulation and ever more regulation. President Trump put America First in his dealings with foreign leaders which has led to more jobs coming to America. President Trump is a cheerleader for America.
Republican tax bill would tie the hands of blue-state governments
As we wrote, the blue states will bleed green. The red states will turn golden. The blue states will have to take the jackboot off the necks of taxpayers or they will bleed to death.
The apocalyptic claims by Obama Dimocrats are real. There is real fear from the left of the Trump tax cuts. The fear from Obama Dimocrats and the totalitarian left is that the President Trump tax cuts will work.
Already, economic forecasts are on the upswing. This fourth quarter of the first year of President Trump might rise as much as 4 percent.
President Trump’s tax cuts will work and make President Trump even more popular no matter what Big Media polls declare.
Most importantly, the narrative from the left that President Trump could not govern has just been shattered. President Trump has achieved a great governing victory.
For President Trump Make America Great Again is not a slogan.
It’s a call for a soft coup against the duly elected president. The call for a soft coup comes from the highest levels of the FBI and the DOJ. The “protection” is straight out of a 1950s melodrama.
Except, it’s not a military plot. It’s a plot against democracy and the American people by the corrupt intelligence agencies.
We knew it was going to get much worse. In June of this year we warned that those who thought the attacks against President Trump would cease or even get less hysterical were gravely deluded. We warned the attacks against President Trump would only increase as the Deep State FBI CIA DOJ got more and more desperate to destroy the President who stands in their way.
The investigators need to be investigated, preferably at an autopsy of themselves and their agencies. They are entirely corrupt:
MORE: Timeline of texts from former Special Counsel investigator Peter Strzok may raise concerns about his impartiality and will likely raise more questions about the Clinton server investigation, @PaulaReidCBS says
Special Counsel's office telling me that Peter Strzok was removed from Russia investigation in late July, "immediately" after text messages were discovered. First reports of demotion came out in mid-August. News of texts broke on Dec. 2. More than 4 month lag time.
Two FBI officials who worked on Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation exchanged text messages last year in which they appear to have discussed ways to prevent Donald Trump from being elected president.
“I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andy’s office — that there’s no way [Trump] gets elected — but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk,” FBI counterintelligence official Peter Strzok wrote in a cryptic text message to Lisa Page, an FBI lawyer and his mistress.
“It’s like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you’re 40,” Strzok wrote in the text, dated Aug. 15, 2016.
Andy is likely Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe.
Text-from Peter Strzok to Lisa Page (Andy is Andrew McCabe): "I want to believe the path u threw out 4 consideration in Andy's office-that there's no way he gets elected-but I'm afraid we can't take that risk. It's like an insurance policy in unlikely event u die be4 you're 40"
These are but some of the revelations that began to leak out during the vote tally of the Alabama election. The leaks are text messages from the top of the FBI. But it gets worse, much much worse:
The co-founder of Trump dossier firm Fusion GPS confirmed in court filings on Tuesday that he met last year with Justice Department official Bruce Ohr and hired Ohr’s wife to help with the opposition research firm’s investigation of Donald Trump.
Glenn Simpson said in a declaration filed in federal court in Washington, D.C. that he met “at [Ohr’s] request” weeks after the presidential election. Simpson stated that Ohr, who recently held the position of deputy assistant attorney general, sought the meeting “to discuss our findings regarding Russia and the election.”
The DOJ’s Bruce Ohr asked to meet with Fusion GPS. And the meeting was about Russia and the election, as requested by DOJ’s Bruce Ohr. DOJ official Bruce Ohr knew all about Fusion GPS and its corruptions because his wife worked for Fusion GPS!!! It’s much much worse:
Simpson also disclosed that Fusion GPS hired Ohr’s wife, Nellie, to serve as a subcontractor on Trump-related work.
Trump defenders have seized on the Ohr’s relationship with Fusion GPS. Trump attorney Jay Sekulow cited the revelations to call for a second special counsel.
In his declaration, Simpson referred to Nellie Ohr as “a former government official expert in Russian matters” who Fusion GPS hired “to help our company with its research and analysis of Mr. Trump.”
It is not clear what government position Simpson was referring to in the declaration. But a 2010 Justice Department report shows that Ohr worked at that time as a researcher for Open Source Works, the CIA’s in-house open source research shop.
FBI, CIA, DOJ. All working together on a soft coup d’état against the American government and democracy itself.
The revelations emerge as part of a concerted effort to block more revelations from exposure. As we wrote back in August, Fushion GPS is in large part a Big Media scandal and Fusion GPS is doing everything it can to protect corrupt Big Media. We described a great deal of this in Apocalypse Now! Corrupt Big Media Tool, Fusion GPS And Obama Scandals
With the latest revelations more pieces of the Big Media Fusion GPS FBI CIA DOJ puzzle begin to fit ever tighter:
In addition to his meeting with Simpson, Bruce Ohr also met last year with dossier author Christopher Steele. Fox News reported last week that Ohr’s meetings with Steele occurred before the election.
Ohr still works at the Justice Department, but he was stripped of one of his positions last Wednesday after Fox News inquired about his meetings with Simpson and Steele. He remains as director of Justice Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force.
Nellie Ohr’s work for Fusion GPS — which Simpson referred to as “confidential” — was revealed Monday night. Fox News reported that she worked for the oppo firm during the presidential campaign. It was unclear until Simpson’s disclosure whether she worked directly on Trump-related matters.
Simpson says in his court filing that he acknowledged during his Nov. 14 interview with the House Intelligence Committee that he met with Bruce Ohr. Fusion’s attorneys pointed to the apparent leak of his testimony to argue in favor of a temporary restraining order to block the release of the firm’s bank records.
The committee and Fusion have been locked in a battle since October over the bank documents.
Republicans on the House panel have issued a subpoena for the records in hopes of identifying some of Fusion’s clients and contractors. Fusion’s lawyers have argued that the subpoena violates Fusion’s confidentiality and First Amendment rights.
The issuance of the subpoena has already had some results. Perkins Coie, the law firm that represented the Clinton campaign and DNC, came forward in October to disclose that it hired Fusion for the project that produced the dossier. [snip]
Fusion was caught off guard by a subpoena issued to the bank — TD Bank — by Devin Nunes, the chairman of the House Intelligence panel.
Fusion’s lawyers cited all of the revelations about Simpson’s testimony as evidence that the House’s subpoena for the TD Bank records “is part of a punitive effort by Chairman Nunes to retaliate against Fusion and to interfere with its constitutional rights.”
“The subpoena is an effort to harm Fusion and its associates. It seeks to divert attention away from, and interfere with, the investigation and to expose Fusion’s associations with other individuals and entities that have nothing to do with the Russia investigation,” the complaint reads.
The Deep State, Academia, Big Media, CIA FBI DOJ are co-conspirators in the attempted destruction of our democracy. They are not the heroes, they are the enemy of the American people. They have been winning for decades. Now comes President Trump and they are desperate animals trapped in fear.
The fight did not end on election night 2016. All that happened on election night 2016 was the American people got a fighter and a fighting chance of winning back our republic.
Update II: Hardest hit by tonight? Al Franken. His hopes to stay in the senate after a Judge Roy Moore victory just went up in smoke.
Update: Like Jerry Lee Lewis decades ago Judge Roy Moore discovered on election night that sex scandals can kill a career. Judge Roy Moore lost the election in Alabama to an Obama Dimocrat.
The Obama Dimocrat did not “win” but rather Judge Roy Moore lost. Perhaps it was not campaigning for the past few weeks. Perhaps.
The big question however will be how much of the blame for this lost senate seat will be attributed to Steve Bannon and his fight against the GOP establishment. Steve Bannon can make the case that Judge Roy Moore lost because the GOP establishment abandoned Moore and engineered this defeat. In addition the GOP establishment solicited votes for write in candidates which on election night were sufficient (22,000) to deny Judge Roy Moore a win. It can be safely assumed that the battle between the GOP establishment and the anti-establishment GOP will continue.
As to the default “winner” Doug Jones, he has a tough future ahead. He won’t be certified as a senator until December 26 at the earliest after all the provisional votes are counted. Perhaps he will have to wait until January. If the vote which is still very close remains this close (49.5-48.8 with 99% of the vote in) don’t discount a recount. Alabama law requires a recount if the vote is less than 0.5%. Once all the votes are in just after Christmas Day, we might be in for a recount. Then in 2020 Doug Jones will face the voters of Alabama again with an Obama Dimocrat record of votes.
Do you know there is an election in Alabama today for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions?
* * * * * *
In a political world so devoted to hypocrisy it is easy to note the hypocrisies on top of hypocrisies we all engage in. Today it is the left engaged in the hypocrisy of sexual purity and the right engaged in the excuses of relativism. To vote based on these hypocrisies is the most hypocritical stance of all. The best vote is to vote for someone who will represent your policy choices not your ideal morality. As we always say, we hire plumbers and carpenters who do their jobs well and are recommended by those who previously hired them, not because of their personal moral lives.
The known sins of Chris Dodd are in the past but now we are told that an Obama Dimocrat should win the Senate seat from Alabama because of allegations made against the Republican candidate, Judge Roy Moore, for his alleged sins from more than 30 years ago. The alleged sins include allegations by a woman that when in his early 30s Roy Moore dated young girls/women in their early and late teens.
The son of the woman thinks she is lying as does her boyfriend of the time. The lead waitress in the restaurant in which this woman worked at the time even questions whether the woman even worked in the restaurant in which the alleged acts took place. To add to the problems with the allegations, the only evidence (a yearbook signed by Roy Moore) was indisputably tampered with by the woman who makes the allegations and the portions she denies tampering with have been questioned as well. Yet the citizens of Alabama are supposed to listen to the allegations only and elect someone who will not represent either them nor their preferred policies.
It’s a big election in Alabama because the Republican control of the U.S. Senate is so slim (52-48) that a loss in Alabama along with the death of another senator could put Republican control in jeopardy before next year’s Republican big wins. Because of the many Obama Dimocrat senators up for reelection in red states in 2018 the likelihood of big GOP wins next year are assured. But a loss in Alabama could delay the MAGA agenda or kill it entirely for all of 2018.
Other than the ramifications of the vote on the MAGA agenda, there is not much other significance to the election today. Alabama is a deep red state and will remain a deep red state. Any loss today by the GOP will be remedied at the next election cycle in which the seat is up.
The only ramification from today of any significance is that a loss by Judge Roy Moore will hurt Steve Bannon and his war against the Republican establishment. Steve Bannon will still have to contend with allegations by the GOP establishment that his “winner” imperiled a sure win into a less easy win.
So who will win today?
Both sides have made some smart and dumb decisions. Judge Roy Moore was dumb to disappear for several weeks only to make sporadic appearances before friendly audiences. This decision was made because Obama Dimocrats wanted to heckle Moore at every appearance. The GOP was dumb to cut off funding to Roy Moore. This decision was because the GOP leadership wanted to force Moore out of the race and this was the best way to do so. Meanwhile one secretive Obama Dimocrat group spent four million dollars against Moore.
Obama Dimocrat Doug Jones made some very dumb decisions too. The dumbest was to be so very pro-abortion then to deny he was so very pro-abortion. It made him seem very shady as to positions and this helped Roy Moore to denounce him on policy. The dumbest decision by Doug Jones was to accept robocalls from Joe Biden and Barack Obama. Barack Obama is the kiss of death even in places like Massachusetts and even more so in places like Alabama.
Smart decisions? The smartest decision by Doug Jones was to attempt to attack Judge Roy Moore on a personal basis. Judge Roy Moore best represents Alabama on policy so Doug Jones attacking him personally was a smart choice. Doug Jones was also smart to not allow kiss of death Barack Obama to go to Alabama to campaign in person. Doug Jones might be able to survive kiss of death Barack Obama only making phone calls, but Doug Jones could not survive Alabama voters subjected to Barack Obama showing his big ears and stupid face.
Republican Judge Roy Moore made many smart decisions. The smartest was to refuse from the start to even consider resigning. It was too late anyway to change the ballots. Also smart was how Judge Roy Moore noted that the moment the allegations against him were made Senator John McCain and Senator Mitch McConnell immediately jumped to demand Judge Roy Moore resign. Both of these senators are hated in Alabama so Judge Roy Moore was smart to denounce them especially since these senators did not make the same demand of Obama Dimocrat Senator Al Franken when he was caught in photographs assaulting a woman.
Judge Roy Moore was also smart to mock Gloria Allred and her press conference with the alleged victim with the yearbook. Judge Roy Moore was also smart to deny his signature in said yearbook as well as to demand handwriting and ink analysis of the alleged evidence. When late in the election the alleged victim admitted to alterations in her yearbook “evidence” her case collapsed.
Judge Roy Moore’s super smart decision to stick with President Donald J. Trump also helped him enormously. Eventually President Trump came back to endorse Judge Roy Moore. Almost immediately the GOP began to provide needed funds for the last week of the election.
So who the Hell wins?
The polls in any special election are usually wrong because it is hard to determine who is a likely voter. The polls in this special election with all the caveats of special elections and the circumstances in this particular election have led to a polling stalemate of clownish proportions. Newsweek has a quick overview of the polls:
Fox News, for example, reveals a 10-point advantage for Jones, whereas CBS News/YouGov indicates that Moore is beating the Democrat by six points. On average, Moore leads the polls by 48.1 percent, compared with 45.9 percent for Jones—just a 2.2-point lead for the Republican.
FiveThirtyEight’s Nate Silver warns about how results should be interpreted, underscoring that a majority of polls have used “automated scripts” to measure voters’ preferences in Alabama. These surveys, also known as “robopolls,” show Jones trailing Moore, but they make “more assumptions when modeling turnout,” have fewer response rates and run into problems with voters who might be shy or embarrassed to disclose their true preference. By law, robopolls can’t call voters via cellphones, Silver notes.
The polls which canvass a lot of people (this is good) have problems in who they think will be a likely voter (this is bad). The polls which we think are better in this instance are robocalls. We believe that in automated voice polls people respond more honestly if they are for Judge Roy Moore because they don’t have to fear “judgement” from a live caller. However, these polls have generally questioned too few people so we are not happy with them either. Most of the polls we have seen, if not all, have problems with them. Fox News on election eve produced a poll with Judge Roy Moore ten points behind and on the same night the opposite was also produced by a rival poll:
Fox News put its credibility on the line when it released a new poll on Monday that shows liberal Democrat Doug Jones leads conservative Republican Roy Moore by 10 points, 50 percent to 40 percent, in tomorrow’s special election for the U.S. Senate in Alabama.
The contrast between the results reported by Fox News and every other recent major poll could not be sharper.
Earlier on Monday, an Emerson Poll was released that shows Moore up by nine points, 53 percent to 44 percent.
The five other most recent polls featured in the Real Clear Politics Average of Polls all show Moore in the lead.
Anyone who wants to be bored can read the link to the article which details the mess the polls are in.
The bottom line for leftists in this election is to pump up the black vote. The argument from the left is that if black voters overwhelm the polls the Obama Dimocrat will win. Will this happen? We don’t know because we are not in Alabama and this is the type of situation in which honest reportage would help to understand what the citizens of Alabama are seeing and reading and thinking. But because Big Media is so corrupt, because the political establishment is so corrupt, we can only guess with the evidence of the wind blowing on a wet finger.
Our wise wet finger tells us Judge Roy Moore will win. First because Alabama is a deep red state. Second because all the sex scandals (Franken and Conyers are only two of many) in the congress and in leftist institutions (where is Chris Dodd again?) helped Judge Roy Moore make his case that he was being forced out even as confessed abusers are still in the Senate (will Al Franken really ever leave?). Third, the terrorist attack in New York City and the chain migration issue will awaken Alabama citizens to the importance of the GOP control of congress. Fourth, the Supreme Court and the need to make sure that President Trump can get his nominees in the Judiciary appointed ASAP to MAGA. Fifth, Americans, especially those in Alabama, hate Big Media and will use every opportunity to defy Big Media.
President Donald J. Trump is demonstrating to friends and foes alike that he will keep his word. Those who hate President Trump such as certain leaders in the Middle East should both fear and rejoice in the fact that President Trump keeps his word. Fear President Trump because he says and does what he means. Rejoice in President Trump because he keeps his word and therefore is someone you can make a deal with and be sure he will keep his word.
Liars like Diane Feinstein today attack President Trump for keeping his word. But as the Washington Free Beacon notes, it was Senator Feinstein that negotiated years ago to move the American embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. Feinstein lobbied and voted for the legislation which passed the congress in an overwhelming vote. Feinstein and Obama Dimocrats lied about moving the embassy for decades. President Trump keeps his word.
President Trump understands that change is required from failed policies of the past. President Trump keeps his word.
There are massive Trump earthquakes, Trumpquakes. There are TrumpNados. There is the Trump vortex. There are Trump storms. All these political weather phenomena were easy to predict, as we did, and future ones even easier to forecast as we exit the first ten months of the Trump presidency.
Think about it. It’s not been an entire year yet. It’s only a little over ten months ago that President Trump was inaugurated. Yet every day, in between Trumpquakes, TrumpNados, and vortex, there are the Trump storms. All can be better understood by reading a new insider account about the Donald J. Trump campaign written by Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie. We’ll discuss the book below and the implications of what can be learned by reading it. First some TrumpStorms.
The Trump storms? We define these as less than quakes and nados but still significant events. In other words, for every Hurricane Irma there are snow storms or rain storms that can flood cities or bring avalanches of either mud or snow. President Trump is constantly churning storms. Some Trump storms are missed because of the little attention paid to them by Big Media or quickly cast aside due to the massive Trumpquakes or TrumpNados that gather all the attention.
TrumpStorms? Consider, President Trump today overturned Obama’s collusion with the United Nations as President Trump pulled the United States out of a global migration and refugee pact that was to lead to a bigger and uglier “Global Compact for Migration“. This will be little noticed but obviously will have a great many implications for “America First”.
TrumpStorms? Consider, this morning President Trump traveled to Utah to overturn Obama’s massive overreach in declaring millions of acres (3.6 million acres, larger than Connecticut) as “national monuments”. Citizens of Utah hated Obama’s grab so President Trump will reduce the size of the “monuments” (as 18 previous Presidents have reduced such sites) to a more rational size. President Trump told Utah Senator Hatch, “I’m approving the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase recommendation for you, Orrin.” Trump is so nice, isn’t he?
But hold on there pardner. If you think that President Trump travels across the country to just shrink some national monuments you have another thing to think about. President Trump in this trip also seeks to shrink that varmint Mitt Romney.
Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney wants to replace Senator Hatch as the carpetbagger who returns to carpetbag Utah so Romney wants Hatch to retire. President Trump is squashing Romney the varmint. Senator Hatch will accompany President Trump in the round trip flight. President Trump will sweet talk Senator Hatch into staying. Sidewinder Romney knows this Utah trip is designed to roll over him so varmint Romney says he is too busy elsewhere to attend the rally with President Trump and Senator Hatch. Trump is so smart, isn’t he?
TrumpStorms? Before President Trump left for Utah, he slapped the F.B.I. and Special Persecutor Mueller by implication. This TrumpStorm has sired other TrumpStorms. First there was the revelation that the F.B.I. agent in the Hillary Clinton email investigation hates Trump. We now know this because Agent Peter Strzok was having an affair with an F.B.I. lawyer and the I.G. at the D.O.J. got wind of the relationship and the whole story blew up so fast and furious that Mueller had to get rid of Strzok in order to try to hide the damage to the F.B.I. and the Mueller persecution. These revelations perhaps explain why the DOJ and the FBI did not respond to letters from the House and Senate investigation committees sent months ago which touched on this Strzok creep.
President Trump left for Utah but he first slapped at the F.B.I. which is in “tatters” because of all the Comey corruption. It didn’t take long for Comey and Eric Holder, who was the AG held to be in contempt of congress, to attack President Trump for his attack against the swamp monsters at the F.B.I. and D.O.J. It’s a laughable spectacle. The Mueller investigation has been trumped and in need of investigation.
Byron York surmises that the entirety of the Mueller persecution is reduced like burned soup to the unconstitutional Logan Act and that the Logan Act was the pretext used by Obama henchmen to try to undermine President Trump. At USAToday James Robbins thinks it is all about Obama’s plans to destroy Israel and how President-Elect Donald J. Trump wisely blocked Obama. Classic Liberal Alan Dershowitz agrees it is about Israel and mocks the notion from that idiot Feinstein that President Trump is in any way involved in “obstruction of justice”.
McCarthy does say one thing we consider dumb. Just plain dumb. But that is because McCarthy is a lawyer. We hear this argument repeated repeatedly, mainly by lawyers and people who have never been involved inside a political campaign. The argument is that President Trump does himself harm with his tweeting and commenting on this legal case. We entirely disagree.
Why is President Trump smart and the smart Andrew McCarthy dumb (along with all the others who say the same thing)? Because from our personal experience when it comes to governmental scandals we can say one thing beyond doubt: THE POLITICAL TRUMPS THE LEGAL.
Any politician under investigation or involved in a scandal should worry first and foremost about the political base. As long as your political base remains on your side it does not matter what happens in the legal realm. Bill Clinton was impeached and had all sorts of legal troubles but his political base remained firm and the impeachment failed and Bill Clinton left office with super high approval ratings. Remember Senator Vitter? He had sex with prostitutes and diapers were involved and his wife had attacked Hillary Clinton for staying with Bill and Vitter’s wife said she would get rid of her husband if he ever engaged in sexual hijinks. When it was discovered diaper boy Vitter paid prostitutes the wife still stayed with him and Vitter fought on to election victory. Remember Judge Roy Moore who was left for dead a short while ago? President Trump endorsed Moore today and Moore is likely headed to the senate. The political always trumps the legal. Keep your base and you keep your job.
Which brings us to the book about the campaign to make Donald J. Trump President Donald J. Trump.
* * * * * *
The new book on the Trump presidential campaign “Let Trump Be Trump” is written by Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie. Big Media will excerpt all the bits they presume to be ugly and ignore all the lessons of what a brilliant campaign Donald J. Trump waged.
Big Media’s Washington Post breathlessly reports that the billionaire candidate loves McDonald’s. Bill Clinton loved McDonald’s too. But we are supposed to be shocked that the everyday billionaire devours “two Big Macs, two Fillet-O-Fish, and a chocolate malted” for dinner on his big fabulous plane Trump Force One.
The Washington Post is likewise shocked that the music of Elton John blares loudly on the plane so that staffers “can’t hear themselves think.” Great shock erupts from the Post as it is discovered that time miser Trump likes his clothes steamed while he is still wearing them. The Post calls these “surreal examples” instead of the routine time management and typical crazy of a campaign.
The Washington Post is apoplectic by what we find most wonderful. It seems that Trump screams a lot. “Trump screams at his top aides, who are subjected to expletive-filled tirades in which they get their “face ripped off.’”
It somehow does not register with the Post that Trump won the election. Trump won because he and only he was in charge of his campaign. Compare and contrast that method of operation to the losing campaign and figure out “what happened” and why Trump deserved to win and why Hillary deserved to lose.
Trump won because he did not make decisions by committee. Trump led. Trump decided. Trump managed. Trump did it all. All the aides that worked for Donald J. Trump knew without any doubt who was in charge:
“Sooner or later, everybody who works for Donald Trump will see a side of him that makes you wonder why you took a job with him in the first place,” the authors wrote. “His wrath is never intended as any personal offense, but sometimes it can be hard not to take it that way. The mode that he switches into when things aren’t going his way can feel like an all-out assault; it’d break most hardened men and women into little pieces.”
The authors “both had moments where they wanted to parachute off Trump Force One,” but they said they got used to it. [snip]
In a section of the book written by Lewandowski, Trump is described as flying on his helicopter when he learns that Manafort has said “Trump shouldn’t be on television anymore, that he shouldn’t be on the Sunday shows” and that Manafort should appear instead. Trump was angrier than Lewandowski had ever seen him, ordering the pilot to lower the altitude so he could make a cellphone call.
“Did you say I shouldn’t be on TV on Sunday? I’ll go on TV anytime I g–dam f—ing want and you won’t say another f—ing word about me!” Trump yelled at Manafort, according to Lewandowski. “Tone it down? I wanna turn it up! . . . You’re a political pro? Let me tell you something. I’m a pro at life. I’ve been around a time or two. I know guys like you, with your hair and skin . . .”
Lewandowski called it “one of the greatest takedowns in the history of the world.”
“Tone it down? I wanna turn it up! . . . You work for Trump, chumps. It’s not the other way around like with other candidates. Trump is in charge. Trump prevailed because of this attitude to get the job done. If you are sick, what matters is the mission, so if you have to, get off the plane. If you are not ready to rock when Trump climbs on board the plane then you get left behind because what matters is the mission. The mission was to get elected. Trump told The Swamp he could not and would not be stopped:
The authors wrote that as panic ensued among some Republicans, the party’s national chairman, Reince Priebus, decided not to show up at a New York City meeting. Bannon called Priebus, asking, “Where the hell are you?”
“I got off the train in Newark,” Priebus responded, according to the book. “I’m going to turn around.” The book notes that Priebus has said he always intended to come to the meeting.
As Bannon tried to convince him that everything was all right, Priebus said that Republicans were abandoning the candidate. “It’s horrible . . . people are dropping like flies,” Priebus said, according to the book. Once he arrived at the meeting, Priebus said that Trump would either “lose the biggest electoral landslide in American history” or should drop out of the race.
“First of all,” Trump responded, according to the book, “I’m going to win. And second, if the Republican Party is going to run away from me, then I will take you all down with me. But I’m not going to lose.”
Trump was not going to lose. Why? Because TRUMP was not going to lose. It wasn’t the aides, it wasn’t the organization, it wasn’t the money, it wasn’t the plane. It was Trump. Trump was not going to lose.
On November 4, 2016 we predicted that Donald J. Trump would win the election. We provided a map of a state by state analysis. We declared on that Friday before the Tuesday elections three states “too close to call”. Those states? Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, all of which Donald J. Trump won.
Relive election night 2016. Alcina lighting votive candles; Appollos5600 taking on the Big Media distortion of the numbers; GonzoTx lighting up candles too; JtJames chewing fingernails; Lorac wishing she liked drugs/liquor; Outris keeping up with the vote numbers; NoMoBama calling George W. Bush a jerk; Tony Stark calling the wins and losses of electoral votes; S following the number and calling out the discrepancies; everyone worrying about Florida at the beginning of the night; Admin at 8:01 noting the panhandle votes still not in; S at 8:02 totaling up the wins/losses; Lu4PUMA at 8:06 cheering on the panhandle as Hillary still had the Florida lead; S cheering up GonzoTx at 8:07 with the vote totals with Hillary ahead “gonzo closing 48.9 to 48.2”; Admin at 8:12 “Light those damn candles!!!!”; Admin at 8:15 “EVEN!!!! 48.5% At worst, recount. LIGHT THOSE DAMN CANDLES!!!!!”; S at 8:15 noting Trump ahead in Florida by 1,000 votes; Alcina at 8:16 with candle power “admin, i’m gonna burn this house down!”; Valleyboy cheering at the race stretch in Florida; Outris at 8:28 with the NYTimes giving Trump the Florida win; McNorman at 8:41 getting sick; NJLurker2 trying to keep calm; at 9:04 JtJames “dying”; Lorac at 9:05 bringing the news that Chris Wallace said Trump might be president; Admin at 9:14 “it’s beginning to smell like Brexit”; by 9:15 Florida and Ohio almost sure Trump and the tears of fears become tears of joy; by 9:30 even the New York Times forecast changed from a Hillary 93% chance of winning to a Trump victory!!!
It was over for Trump. He was now President Elect Trump.
Williamstown (United States) (AFP) – With unemployment declining, the local truck plant expanding and optimism on the rise, one industrial heartland region has become a microcosm of the reinvigorated America promised by Donald Trump.
Seen from Williamstown, 300 miles (500 kilometers) west of Washington, the political tumult since Trump’s November 8, 2016 victory appears artificial to those who welcome his leadership as a break from business as usual.
The sleepy West Virginia town is in Wood County where 70 percent of voters celebrated the anti-establishment victory. A year later, they are pledging their loyalty to the Trump revolution, praising the billionaire businessman-turned-national-leader for already delivering on his declaration to reverse their declining fortunes. [snip]
National indicators of consumer and business confidence corroborate the sentiment. [snip]
Runnion, the truck driver, says he is already committed: In 2020, he’ll vote Trump.
Trump voters remain Trump voters. As long as that does not change, Trump trumps.
But what about the polls???? The polls are terrible for President Trump just as they were for candidate Trump. President Trump can’t win say the polls. But the ABC News poll chief Gary Langer says something different:
Democratic advantage for ’18 might not be what it seems (POLL) [snip]
For one thing, despite President Donald Trump’s historic unpopularity, almost as many Americans say they’ll vote in 2018 to show support for Trump as to show opposition to him, 22 versus 26 percent, with half saying he won’t be a factor. Indeed 57 percent of Republicans say they’ll vote to show support for Trump, while fewer Democrats, 46 percent, intend to send a message against him.
Further, among the results of this poll, produced for ABC News by Langer Research Associates:
Just 27 percent of Americans express confidence in the Democrats in Congress “to make the right decisions for the country’s future,” matching the low set when the question last was asked January 2014, and a wide 16 points below its peak in 2009. The Democrats’ confidence rating is almost as poor as the Republicans’ in Congress (21 percent trust) and worse than Trump’s (34 percent).
The main change for congressional Democrats from their peak in 2009, moreover, is diminished trust in some of their key support groups — under 30s (down 27 points in trust), Democrats themselves (down 26 points) and liberals (down 21 points).
The Democratic Party leads the GOP among all Americans as being “more concerned with the needs of people like you” (49-36 percent) and as “better representing your own personal values” (46-37 percent). But the Democrats had advantages that big on these same questions in October 2014, and still got hammered a few weeks later.
Indeed today, the Democratic lead on concern with “the needs of people like you” shrinks from 13 points among all adults to a mere 3 points among those most likely to vote in 2018. And the 9-point Democratic advantage on personal values among all Americans goes to a non-significant 3-point Republican advantage among the likeliest 2018 voters.
Similarly, the Democrats enjoy an 11-point advantage among all adults in the sense that the country would be better off if they took control of Congress in a year’s time, 37-26 percent. Among the likeliest voters, though, this shrinks to essentially nothing, 2 points.
It’s the same mistake most dummkopf analysts made about 2016. National polls which include the massive Obama Dimocrat populations of California, New York, Illinois, distort what will happen in elections in favor of Obama Dimocrats. The red states and the blue states (which Hillary Clinton won such as Virginia) will vote the usual red/blue ways. It is the swing states that make congress and presidents. As we’ve written before, citing Democrat pollsters, the polls read correctly portend Republican victories in 2018 and 2020.
* * * * * *
As we celebrate, President Donald J. Trump is in Asia to lead the world. On Tuesday night, President Donald J. Trump addressed the National Assembly of South Korea. The reactions from even the leftists in South Korea demonstrate the war by Big Media against President Donald J. Trump is failing even in Asia as the Big Media fake news is destroyed by reality:
“Far from the ‘madman’ the media portrays, Trump came across as perfectly normal, smart, and well-mannered,” read one of the more than 1,200 posts on Naver.com.
Another wrote: “Wow, best speech ever. I feel so safe to have such a great U.S. president who is so determined to resolve North Korean issues.”
Yup. “I feel so safe to have such a great U.S. president….”
The do-nothing Republican Congress does not have to do a thing to win in 2018 and 2020. That’s because Obama Dimocrats will make GOP big wins in 2018 and the reelection of President Donald J. Trump the only choice for normals.
We don’t think the do-nothing GOP congress will pass tax cuts, let alone tax reform. ObamaCare repeal? We doubt it. Immigration anything? Um, no. We don’t think they will have to do a single damn thing. Yet, the GOP will win big in 2018 and even bigger in 2020.
We are as convinced now in October as we were early this year and throughout the rest of the year when we forecast big GOP wins in 2018 and 2020. Our forecasts and reasons are indisputable.
So deranged is Hillary Clinton that even the Bezos Washington Post which loves “gun control” mocked her assertions after the Las Vegas shooting by what appears to be a loon son of an F.B.I. ten most wanted pop.
The crowd fled at the sound of gunshots.
Imagine the deaths if the shooter had a silencer, which the NRA wants to make easier to get.
Hillary Clinton is not alone in her deranged Las Vegas mutterings. Loons such as Senator Chris Murphy, Mike Bloomberg, Senator Blumenthal, Senator Pocahontas Warren, and Congressman Himes, all jumped inside the kook-kook clock to chime about gun control. Gun control works only on law abiding citizens, but don’t tell these self-interested anti-Trump kooks that.
And as someone who cheers when Stephen Curry or Von Miller speaks out and makes the president look small, I’ve reluctantly become convinced that many athletes are making a tactical mistake.
Yes, the athletes and their allies can make nuanced, genuine arguments about why kneeling during the national anthem is not meant as a rebuke to the entire country. Liberals have rallied to their side, almost uniformly. I have the same instinct.
Winning over blue America, however, is a pretty modest goal. The kneeling argument needlessly alienates persuadable people, and it’s one the athletes don’t need.
It’s not just “athletes” making a tactical, rather, strategic mistake. It’s Obama Dimocrats. All these doofs manage to do is expand their cheering squads and votes in the encircled blue states; and give ammunition to the hordes of pro-Trump revolutionaries ready to take down the Hunger Games Capitol and capital cities filled with Obama Dimocrats. Meanwhile the normals continue to march on in support of President Trump:
CNN host John King said Sunday that NFL owners have data supporting President Donald Trump’s claim that television ratings have gone down because of players’ protests during the national anthem.
“NFL owners so far siding with their players for their right to free speech, but they’re also keeping close tabs on the financial impact and the public relations impact of this confrontation,” King said.
He went on to say that the NFL owners have research “clearly showing the president is right” when he claims the national anthem protests are one factor in TV ratings dropping.
“Since the president weighed in, the owners are now dealing with a surge in ticket holder requests for refunds,” King said.
For once CNN is not stating Fake News. And, to quote the Mets fans’ “Wait until next year.” Next year, around Labor Day, when the political campaigns go into full swing will also be the time the football season starts. Get ready for President Trump to beat the NFL into the ground in the next season of 2018. We can’t wait. President Trump will score a 2018 election touchdown in part because of the kneeling fumbles of the NFL.
David Leonhardt is not alone at the New York Times with his warnings of Obama Dimocrat Gotterdammerung. Repulsive Anti-Trump (and anti-Hillary) Frank Bruni tells the Obama Dimocrats to get ready, get ready, get ready… to lose:
Democrats, Please Get Ready to Lose
There’s a saying that what matters isn’t winning or losing. It’s whether you beat the spread.
But what’s the spread for Democrats in 2018?
Is the spread — which means the predicted margin of victory or defeat — gaining the 24 seats in the House that are necessary for a majority in the chamber? That’s certainly doable. I could argue that it’s probable.
But I could also make the case that Democrats fall five, 10 or 15 seats short. And I could imagine a demoralization that shadows and thereby dooms the party in 2020, when the stakes are even higher.
Is the spread control of the Senate? With just three turned seats, the Democrats have it. What promising math. But what a punishing map: There are more vulnerable Democrats up for re-election than there are vulnerable Republicans. Despite Donald Trump’s wackiness and the G.O.P.’s woes, Democrats could easily lose ground here.
Frank Bruni hates President Donald J. Trump. But the obvious even dawns upon the dead. Frank Bruni finally sees what we saw many months ago. President Trump triumphant! Obama Dimocrats humiliated again and eating their own bowels:
So the task ahead is twofold and tricky. They must move heaven and earth to wrest Congress from Republicans, who’ve demonstrated little backbone for standing up to an erratic, egomaniacal president in desperate need of containment.
But they must also, somehow, keep their expectations in check, because the long game is the White House, and it won’t be served by the acrimony and sense of futility that disappointment in 2018 could bring.
Howard Wolfson, who was one of the chief strategists for Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign, summed up the situation well.
He said that the House majority must be Democrats’ nonnegotiable goal, because it matters so much and is indisputably attainable. But if they don’t succeed, he added, “There will be a circular firing squad.” And it will be an especially furious one.
Progressives will point to moderates who lost their contests as definitive proof that the party should move left. Moderates will point to progressives who didn’t prevail and insist the opposite. And the infighting could be another lucky break for Trump, whose life story is already a fable of outrageous fortune.
Bill Clinton used to say that if you’re walking down the road and you see a turtle on a post — you can be sure the turtle did not get there by accident. The Frank Bruni totalitarian left wants to believe that 2020 will be “another lucky break for Trump” and continue a “life story” which “is already a fable of outrageous fortune.” President Trump was lucky to be born to his parents. But it is not “luck” to find him on top of the post, giggling. It was hard work and smarts that got Donald J. Trump into the White House.
Deep down, the totalitarian left and Frank Bruni understand that President Trump earned his 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue address. In 2016 they were with “her”. The American people are with “him” and Obama Dimocrats know the “him” is Trump. For all the happy talk about wins, Obama Dimocrats are losers and the know it:
“You have to shoot for the stars,” the Democratic operative Hilary Rosen told me. “You might just reach the moon.”
But even as Rosen said that, she hedged any prophecy of a rout, in a manner that spoke to the difficulty of properly calibrating optimism in 2018. She worried about Democrats’ policy agenda. She worried about the party’s tone. “I still think we lack a sunny, aspirational outlook,” she said. “We’re going down in the mud with Donald Trump.”
She added that the party wasn’t focused on change in the right, compelling fashion. “The change that Donald Trump was selling was blowing up the system,” she observed. “What’s our change? Is our change to patch up the system? Not very sexy.” [snip]
Two new directions that many progressives in the party have indeed latched onto — tuition-free college and single-payer health care — make some G.O.P. leaders’ hearts go pitter-patter, because they’re convinced that a majority of Americans, including many independents, aren’t ready for either, not when the cost is bluntly explained.
“I think Democrats are making a huge, huge, huge mistake,” said one prominent Republican strategist who is carefully studying House races and may help steer a few of them. He expressed guarded confidence that the G.O.P. would hold onto its majority in the chamber, because, he said, the Democratic Party “is now being controlled by 20 people who are running for president, and that’s causing them to move too far left.”
He also marveled that Democrats had done nothing to take away one of Republicans’ most trusted targets: Nancy Pelosi. As long as she remains the Democratic leader in the House and Republicans can describe their opponents as servants of a San Francisco liberal in office for so many decades, they’re in good stead, he said.
For all his false bravado and excuses for why the GOP wins (gerrymandering) in 2018 which will lead to demoralized Obama Dimocrats losing again in 2020 (Bruni’s version of our Hiroshima and Nagasaki article) you can still smell the fear stinking from Bruni’s pores as he cannot comprehend why President Trump’s fights with the GOP establishment help President Trump and his army of normals:
I’m told that in some focus groups, when Republican voters are asked to name the leader of their party, most don’t mention Trump. He’s an unclassifiable entity in an orbit all his own. So while it’s possible that any disgust with the president will be taken out on the Republican lawmakers who curtsied to and coddled him, it’s not out of the question that those lawmakers would be regarded, and judged, separately.
Name another president in recent decades who publicly taunted and savaged peers in his putative party the way that Trump does. Name another president who was such an eager, audacious agent of disorder. There’s no tidy precedent for Trump, no historical model that snugly accommodates him. He proved that in 2016, and could prove it anew in 2018.
“Those who look to the past to predict the current political moment do so at their folly,” said Representative Joe Kennedy III, one of the regional vice chairmen of the D.C.C.C. So while he told me that he’s enormously heartened by the quality of Democratic candidates being groomed for House races, he’s not placing wagers.
That’s wise, considering: Democrats must recover from a breathtaking decline, during the Obama years, of the party’s representation at every level of government below the presidency. The party holds only 15 of 50 governor’s offices. While Republicans control both the governorship and the legislature in 26 states, Democrats have that monopoly in just six.
“We didn’t get here overnight,” Rosen said, reverting to management-of-expectations mode. “I think it’s unrealistic to think we’re going to turn it around in a single election.”
Frank Bruni and his Obama Dimocrat ilk of numbskulls do not understand that President Trump’s fight with the GOP establishment is a feature, not a bug.
In 2018, the GOP winners of the primaries will be Trump supporters. Already Corker is gone and will be replaced by a Trump supporter. Jeff Flake will soon be gone either because he decides not to run or because he will be destroyed by Trump supporters in the Arizona primary. Trump hater John Kasich will be term limited out of the Ohio capital. Obama Dimocrat McCaskill in Missouri, Donnelly in Indiana, Sherrod Brown in Ohio – all will be replaced by Trump supporters in the U.S. Senate. Those who stand with Trump will win in 2018. Those who kneel against the Flag will lose in 2018. In 2020 Trump triumphant.
Democrats in Iowa looking for ways to win back Trump voters
DES MOINES, Iowa — Iowa Democrats are looking for the prescription that will help them emerge from their withered condition, after dominating just a decade ago.
After sending progressive Tom Harkin to the Senate for 30 years and twice delivering the state for Barack Obama, Democrats are powerless in the House, Senate and statehouse, and remain stunned by President Donald Trump’s solid Iowa victory last year.
While it’s a familiar scenario across the upper Midwest, the pressure on Iowa Democrats to recoup the working-class voters who marched with Trump is more intense: They’re charged with setting the tone in a little more than two years for the party’s presidential nomination. [snip]
“I think it starts with letting these working-class people know that we see them, we hear them and we know what they are going through, and we have a plan,” Ryan, from blue-collar Warren, Ohio, told The Associated Press on Saturday. [snip]
“We’ve lost touch with certain voters,” state party chairman Troy Price said. “We talk about issues, but not the values behind the issues. We haven’t done the best job communicating with the people we fight so hard for. It’s why we are where we are.” [snip]
“It’s difficult to go into the rural areas of Iowa and find anyone who will admit to being a Democrat.”
Tim Ryan says he wants to let “these working-class people know that we see them, we hear them”. But that is a lie. Obama Dimocrats are neither seeing nor listening to the working class in Iowa or anywhere.
On ‘Dreamers’ Deal, Democrats Face a Surprising Foe: The Dreamers
WASHINGTON — As Democrats warily prepare to negotiate an immigration deal with President Trump, they face an unexpected political foe: many of the 800,000 young, undocumented immigrants threatened with deportation whom they are championing.
These ungrateful, un-American illegal aliens threaten American elected officials and Obama Dimocrats cower to the illegals. Ungrateful sons-of-bitches:
The pressure from some immigrant activists to reject any compromise that would tighten border security has frustrated Democratic leaders, who recognize the political risks of being labeled the party of open borders — a potentially lethal tag as they seek to regain support from working-class voters across the Midwest.
Fearful of concessions to Mr. Trump that could increase immigration enforcement aimed at their families and friends, the activists are targeting Democratic congressional leaders with loud political protests. And Democratic politicians may be vulnerable. They have already shifted to the left on a number of issues, such as health care, as they try to take advantage of liberal fervor stoked by the Trump era.
But moving too far to the left on border security could hold serious risks for a party that lost the presidency with defeats in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan and Iowa — all states where immigration remains a hot-button issue.
John Feehery, a Republican strategist, said a Democratic pushback on border security would reinforce “the perception that the Democratic Party has largely abandoned and forgotten about the white working class.”
The illegal immigrant Dreamers argued that since they came illegally to this country they were little bitty babies and now that they are in their twenties and thirties they demand, not ask, demand to stay. But they undermine their once-upon-a-time argument. Now they want the parents who violated the law and are illegal aliens themselves to be citizens. They are not “dreamers”. They are liars.
The Obama Dimocrats are now in a trap of their own making. Obama Dimocrats cared about illegal immigrants more than American citizens. Like treacherous snakes (remember Trump’s poetry readings of The Snake?) these illegal aliens now bite the Obama Dimocrats:
They have already signaled that they are willing to consider Republican demands for increased enforcement along the border with Mexico in exchange for a legislative fix to the threatened Obama-era program called Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, which protects young immigrants brought to the country as children.
“It is naïve for us to believe that we will get 12 Republicans to vote for DACA or the Dream Act without putting something on the table,” said Senator Richard J. Durbin of Illinois, an original co-author of the Dream Act, which would offer a path to citizenship for certain undocumented immigrants brought to the country as children. “There’s always going to be a group that wants more. There are some people who want all or nothing. I consider this to be a world of reality that I live in.”
Democrats need to be mindful not just of white working-class voters but all voters, said Cornell Belcher, who worked as one of President Barack Obama’s pollsters during his 2008 presidential campaign. Democrats have to “thread a fine needle,” he said, because polls show that voters broadly “feel as though their borders need to be more secure.”
But activists worry that any compromise could carry a very personal price: Their own long-term safety might be secured only in exchange for an increased threat of deportation for their undocumented parents and friends who do not qualify for such protections under the program.
That is a deal that many of them are not willing to take.
“We are going to do whatever it takes to push both parties to pursue what we are demanding,” said Cristina Jiménez, executive director of United We Dream. “We don’t want a situation where my brother, who has DACA, will have relief from deportation, and we will have more enforcement and more ICE agents who end up going after my mom and my dad.” [snip]
Conservatives want those principles to include a call to limit the number of new legal immigrants and emphasize the entry of high-skilled workers instead of the family members of immigrants already in the country. They want to expand the “E-Verify” system to ensure that businesses do not hire workers who are in the country illegally. They are insisting on stepped-up immigration enforcement throughout the country’s interior. And they want Mr. Trump to get his wall along the southern border. [snip]
Immigration activists reject such demands as meanspirited and much too far-reaching. [snip]
Publicly, those young immigrants and their allies say they will not accept what they consider draconian measures in exchange for a deal on DACA, or on the Dream Act, the bill dating back to 2001 that would provide a pathway to citizenship for young immigrants brought in illegally as children.
Obama Dimocrats are surrounded by snakes draining them of their very blood. The white working class that has turned against their football millionaires is watching. The Trump supporters in Iowa are watching. The snakes are biting the swine:
Democrats also must weigh the political risk of being seen as weak on security issues as they try to recover from their 2016 losses.
During the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s annual conference last month, Kathleen Wells, a black radio host, challenged several members of Congress to explain why black Americans should embrace allowing more immigrants to remain in the United States who might compete with them for jobs.
The swine in the swamp are ready to lose. President Donald J. Trump will help them lose even more than they can imagine.
Las Vegas is a horrific bloody scene of carnage this October eve. The political carnage next November will be even bloodier.
We understand why Hillary Clinton is deranged and unhinged. Hillary Clinton in 2016 ran, as we repeatedly declared before, during, and after the 2016 election cycle, the stupidest campaign we have ever seen. Our “thought crime” amongst many of our pro-Hillary readers during the 2016 campaign who became unhappy and upset with us for writing the truth was that we saw the stupidity of Hillary2016 and wrote it down for posterity before others had the intelligence and courage to write what was obvious. Hillary Clinton ran the stupidest campaign in 2016 and we are not alone in that assessment. Hillary Clinton’s strongest advocates in the past, such as Stanley Greenberg, have pretty much written the same assessment; the only difference is that we wrote our assessment when it mattered, when Hillary could have changed her crackpot trajectory.
Hillary Clinton’s book “What Happened” is a manifestation of a deranged, unhinged, mind in the throes of madness. It’s not a grand madness such as that suffered by Medea. It is not a comic lunacy exhibited by Mean Girls. It is not even a redeeming madness such as seen in “A Woman Under The Influence“. Hillary Clinton’s madness is tawdry and cheap. It is a maudlin public pity play which deserves nothing but virulent contempt.
Hillary Clinton’s book should not have been called “What Happened”. Hillary’s book shoulda been called, recalling Hillary during the Whitewater scandal, “Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda, How I Failed To Run A Smart Campaign And Instead Ran The Stupidest Campaign Ever.”
Hillary’s book coulda been called “The Queen of Denial – How I Failed To See 2016 Would Be A Change Election So I Ran A Status Quo Election Campaign Then Instead Of Admitting MY Failures I Persisted In My Refusal To Acknowledge Them.”
Hillary Clinton’s book woulda been more honest if Hillary Clinton called it “Election For Dummies: How To Run The Stupidest Campaign Ever By Hiring Your Enemies And Insulting Your Voters Who Want Change Not More Of The Same.”
It’s madness upon madness from Hillary Clinton. In her hysterical madhouse tour to sell books and justify her madness Hillary Clinton has made putrid statements attacking President Donald J. Trump. Unfortunately for Hillary Clinton we have a long memory.
* * * * * *
We remember the Hillary Clinton we supported. Barack Obama and the totalitarian left attacked Hillary Clinton in 2008 when she declared that if Iran attacked Israel with nuclear weapons she would “obliterate Iran”. We applauded.
Hillary Clinton made the same clear case against Iran, and declared that she wanted Iran to understand the consequences of their actions, as President Donald J. Trump made against North Korea. Yet now, the wretched Hillary Clinton attacks President Donald J. Trump for the same logical stance.
“I want the Iranians to know that if I’m the president, we will attack Iran (if it attacks Israel),” Clinton said in an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
“In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them,” she said.
“That’s a terrible thing to say but those people who run Iran need to understand that because that perhaps will deter them from doing something that would be reckless, foolish and tragic,” Clinton said.
Hillary Clinton slammed President Trump’s speech at the United Nations, calling it “dangerous.”
“I thought it was very dark, dangerous, not the kind of message that the leader of the greatest country in the world should be delivering,” Mrs. Clinton said Tuesday night on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” [snip]
“What I hoped the president would have said is something along the lines of ‘we view this as dangerous to our allies, to the region and even to our country. We call on all nations to work with us to try to end the threat caused to us by Kim Jong-un,’” Mrs. Clinton said, referring to North Korea’s leader.
President Trump at the United Nations declared his preference for diplomacy even as he listed the many crimes committed by North Korea against its people and its neighbors, including the kidnap victims snatched by North Korea. Then President Trump made a clear statement to North Korea: The United States has great strength and patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea. That’s much more diplomatic language than “obliterate”.
Hillary Clinton’s attacks against President Trump are the work of a deranged, unhinged, mind. Either that or she is a liar who has forgotten her own “obliterate” form of diplomacy. Perhaps these unhinged statements, or lies, are why more Hillary voters regret their 2016 vote than Trump voters.
In 1994 Hillary Clinton held a long press conference to address the Whitewater scandal. It was that lovely pink Chanel suit that inspired the color scheme for this website. It was a lovely Hillary Clinton that declared criticisms of her failure to answer Whitewater questions earlier as “coulda, woulda, shoulda” wastes of time. What Happened happened, argued Hillary Clinton and there was no point in revisiting the past.
But now, Hillary Clinton in her latest book, is in full couldawouldashoulda nonsense. Let’s play couldawouldashoulda to demonstrate to Hillary Clinton and her cohort of the mad why couldawouldashoulda is so utterly stupid.
Goose meet gander. Are Hillary Clinton and Hillary Clinton voters justified in the “if only” couldawouldashoulda game? Play couldawouldashoulda from the Donald J. Trump point of view. If the Access Hollywood tape had not aired so near the election Donald J. Trump coulda won bigger. If the GOP establishment had rallied to Donald J. Trump and supported Donald J. Trump he shoulda won bigger. If Donald J. Trump raised more money from the super rich and outspent Hillary, not Hillary outspending Trump, he woulda won bigger. If Big Media was not so invested in attacking Donald J. Trump he couldashouldawoulda won bigger. If Bernie Sanders had not given Hillary Clinton a pass on her email scandal during the primaries then Donald J. Trump couldashouldawoulda won bigger as the email scandal woulda resonated even more. If the Russians buying ads on Facebook to support Black Lives Matter and Hillary had been exposed during the election Donald J. Trump couldawouldashoulda won bigger. If more illegal aliens had killed more Americans like Kate Steinle and Big Media did not try to cover up the news then Donald J. Trump couldawouldashoulda won bigger. If Ohio governor John Kasich had lived up to his pledge to support the GOP nominee and attended the GOP convention to laud Donald J. Trump then Donald J. Trump couldawouldashoulda won bigger. If Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush had not attacked Donald J. Trump and used their power and influence to support Donald J. Trump instead of attacking Donald J. Trump especially at and around the GOP convention then Donald J. Trump couldawouldashoulda won bigger. If GOP elected officials like Kelly Ayotte had supported Donald J. Trump instead of opposing him and asking him to drop out of the race Kelly Ayotte would still be a senator and Donald J. Trump would have won New Hampshire and couldawouldashoulda won bigger. If Big Media had exposed all the lies and corruptions of Barack Obama’s Iran deal then Donald J. Trump couldawouldashoulda won bigger. If all the lies of Barack Obama had been discussed and highlighted by Big Media then Donald J. Trump couldawouldashoulda won bigger. If, to carry on with the Hillary Clinton madness, it had rained and flooded out New York City on election day then Donald J. Trump couldawouldashoulda won bigger. If California had been burned down to the ground with wildfires in the big cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles then Donald J. Trump couldawouldashoulda won bigger.
Trump out-campaigned Clinton by 30 percent in Florida, winning by 1.3 points a state that had gone Democratic in 2008 and 2012.
In Pennsylvania, Trump made 23 percent more visits and won the previously blue state by 1.2 points.
The biggest disparity came in Ohio, where Clinton made 17 stops and Trump made 26. He won the state by more than 8 points. In North Carolina, Clinton made 16 stops as Trump made 23, and he took the state by a little under 4 points.
And in what may prove to be this cycle’s most stunning 11th hour upset, Michigan hosted Trump 13 times in the last 100 days. Clinton visited just six times in comparison…
If Hillary Clinton had a brain left she would read our analysis before the 2016 election. Years before Hillary Clinton registered Hillary2016 we discussed why Hillary Clinton was running a stupid pre-official campaign. After Hillary2016 was announced our analysis continued and we pointed out all the failures and future failures to come.
What Happened in 2016? We laid it all out years before the 2016 election began. In September of 2013 we called Hillary Clinton 2016 a “Muddled Message Mess”. Hillary Clinton was a Muddled Message Mess in 2013 because she could not choose whether she wanted to run as a “stay the course” candidate in 2016 or as a “change” candidate. In “Muddled Message Mess” we declared that 2016 would be a “change” election. Stupidly, irredeemably stupidly, Hillary Clinton first tried to have it both ways then Hillary eventually slit her electoral wrists when she became the Obama Third Term.
It wasn’t just a Muddled Message Mess. The entirety of Hillary2016 was a mess. Robby Mook did not have the stature nor the smarts to be the campaign manager. With a name like Mook it is almost like advertising his ineptness.
Robby Mook failed because Hillary Clinton failed. In 2008 Barack Obama won because Big Media race-baited Hillary Clinton during the primaries and then John McCain was race-baited during the general election. In other words, Barack Obama won in 2008 because he understood that after eight years of George W. Bush it was “time for a change” and ever the flim flam con man Barack Obama took full advantage for self-advancement to fool the idiots who supported him.
Instead of the correct analysis, that race-baiting by Big Media on behalf of Barack Obama in 2008 is what got him the nomination and eventually victory in the general election, Hillary Clinton and Robby the Mook convinced themselves than nonsense such as metrics and analysis is what won the victory.
We wrote our many analyses of the stupidity of the Hillary Clinton campaign starting years ago and culminating on election night. This week in the leftist American Prospect a longtime friend of the Clintons let loose with his analysis of the 2016 election and Hillary Clinton’s failures. Notice how the analysis and language of Stanley Greenberg mimics the language and analysis from what we wrote years ago:
How She Lost
Malpractice cost Clinton the election, but her ambivalence on big issues was produced by big structural factors that affect all Democrats.
By Stanley Greenberg
Hillary Clinton’s tragic 2016 campaign faced withering criticism in the press, social media, and now, in Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes’s inside account, Shattered. From my vantage point as lead pollster for the Democratic nominees in 1992 and 2000, part of the closing clutch of pollsters in 2004, and invited noodge in 2016, I have little quarrel with the harshest of these criticisms. Malpractice and arrogance contributed mightily to the election of Donald Trump and its profound threat to our democracy. So did the handling of the email server, paid Wall Street speeches, and the “deplorables” comment. And her unwillingness to challenge the excesses of big money and corporate influence left her exposed to attacks first by Bernie Sanders and then by Donald Trump and unable to offer credible promise of change. [snip]
For me, the most glaring examples include the Clinton campaign’s over-dependence on technical analytics; its failure to run campaigns to win the battleground states; the decision to focus on the rainbow base and identity politics at the expense of the working class; and the failure to address the candidate’s growing “trust problem” or to learn from events and reposition. [snip]
The campaign relied far too heavily on something that campaign technicians call “data analytics.” This refers to the use of models built from a database of the country’s 200 million voters, including turnout history and demographic and consumer information, updated daily by an automated poll asking for vote preference to project the election result. But when campaign developments overtake the model’s assumptions, you get surprised by the voters—and this happened repeatedly.
Campaign manager Robby Mook and his team believed that identity politics, demographic trends, and Trump’s temperament would be enough to win, so they could avoid confronting the “trust problem.”
Astonishingly, the 2016 Clinton campaign conducted no state polls in the final three weeks of the general election and relied primarily on data analytics to project turnout and the state vote. They paid little attention to qualitative focus groups or feedback from the field, and their brief daily poll didn’t measure which candidate was defining the election or getting people engaged.
The models from the data analytics team led by Elan Kriegel got the Iowa and Michigan primaries badly wrong, with huge consequences for the race. Why were they not then fired? [snip]
Campaign chair John Podesta wanted to fire Mook, but Clinton stood by him. She rightly admired previous campaigns in which big data and technology were big winners, yet in 2008 it was the candidate and his appeal more than the technical wizardry that pushed Obama over the top. [snip]
For Clinton, however, giving up the analytics team was like giving up consultant Dick Morris at earlier tough moments—a man who was thought to bring unconventional powers to play. That Mook didn’t share his results with others in the campaign reinforced his mystique as a data wizard. But that lack of transparency was malpractice. Standard practice is immediately sharing national, battleground, and state polls, as well as automated canvassing and other metrics with the senior campaign team at the very least, usually with the war room, and sometimes the whole headquarters. That is how a nimble campaign operates.
The malpractice grows exponentially with their failure to focus like a laser on winning each target primary or battleground state. Rather than shifting resources and media buys across states based on the analytics’ projection of cost per delegate or voter, they needed to focus on how to win each must-win, winner-take-all state. That meant more distinct state strategies, focus groups, and state tracking polls right to the end.
The campaign’s approach senselessly and increasingly drove up Trump’s margin in white working-class communities, tipping Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Florida. The analytics model built around these assumptions was so simple-minded it portended disaster. Despite overwhelming evidence that the Democratic base wasn’t consolidated or excited, the campaign believed Trump’s tasteless attacks and Clinton’s identification with every group in the rainbow coalition would produce near universal support. Thus, they stopped trying to persuade voters and measured only the probability of support for Hillary. The campaign’s task was turning out those Clinton voters, and they fell frustratingly short.
Hillary Clinton ran a stupid campaign. In 2008 Hillary Clinton was not able to understand that what matters is getting delegates during a primary. Barack Obama’s campaign only cared about delegates. Vote totals did not matter. Hillary Clinton would win huge victories at the polls then get few delegates from those victories. Barack Obama would barely win or lose but would gain lots of delegates. In caucus states Barack Obama worked with the establishment to get delegates while the Hillary Clinton campaign mostly ignored the corrupt caucus states. The results of this 2008 stupidity meant that Barack Obama got more votes from playing insider games (recall Florida and Michigan).
In 2016 Hillary Clinton learned nothing. Against Donald J. Trump Hillary Clinton ignored white working class voters who lived in swing states. Hillary Clinton did not learn from 2008 that in a general election what matters are electoral votes not huge margins in numbskull states like New York, California, and Illinois. Hillary Clinton did not learn a thing from 2008. Hillary Clinton has not learned a thing from 2016. It wasn’t couldawouldashoulda reasons she concocts. Hillary Clinton lost because she did not have a clue about what she needed to win.
Clinton and the campaign acted as if “demographics is destiny” and a “rainbow coalition” was bound to govern. Yes, there is a growing “Rising American Electorate,” but as Page Gardner and I wrote at the outset of this election, you must give people a compelling reason to vote. I have demonstrated for my entire career that a candidate must target white working-class voters, too.
Not surprisingly, Clinton took her biggest hit in Michigan, where she failed to campaign in Macomb County, the archetypal white working-class county. That was the opposite of her husband’s approach. Bill Clinton visibly campaigned in Macomb, the black community in Detroit, and elsewhere.
The fatal conclusion the Clinton team made after the Michigan primary debacle was that she could not win white working-class voters, and that the “rising electorate” would make up the difference. She finished her campaign with rallies in inner cities and university towns. Macomb got the message. “When you leave the two-thirds of Americans without college degrees out of your vision of the good life, they notice,” Joan Williams writes sharply in White Working Class: Overcoming Class Cluelessness in America.
Additionally, Sanders campaigned against bad trade deals like NAFTA and the TPP to show he’d battle for working people. NAFTA was the work of Bill Clinton and the TPP was a signature initiative of Obama. Hillary Clinton needed some distance. My wife, Representative Rosa DeLauro, headed up the anti-TPP forces in Congress, but despite her incessant lobbying of Podesta, Clinton offered only a muddled opposition.
Stanley Greenberg’s article deserves a full read. Of course, what we wrote years ago is a much more important read for anyone trying to understand what happened in 2016.
Greenberg writes about the “Trust Problem” and why it grew as the campaign progressed “progressively”. But Greenberg misses the point we never have that Hillary Clinton’s biggest “trust problem” was that no matter what policy proposals she made no one believed her because they did not think she could get the job done. Trump supporters believed Trump would and could get the promises he made done. It was the old Bill Clinton motto come to life “better to be strong and wrong than weak and right”. Even if you believed Hillary Clinton and believed in her policy proposals you did not think Hillary could or would get the job done. That was the real “Trust Problem”.
Greenberg does not get the full reason why Hillary Clinton lost as well as we do. But he has some gems:
Shattered suggests that Obama advisers inside and outside the campaign, including David Axelrod and David Plouffe, believed Hillary Clinton herself was the principal obstacle and doubted the campaign could course-correct. Mook and team believed that identity politics, demographic trends, and Trump’s temperament would be enough to win, so they could avoid confronting the “trust problem.”
Greenberg has his own couldawouldashoulda:
What might have happened if Clinton had attended a focus group herself, as Nelson Mandela did in 1993 when our research showed that his African National Congress was seen as “out of touch” and taking too long to bring change? What might have happened if she had watched people expressing their exasperation and desperation with the economy and politicians—and talking about her ties to Wall Street, her perceived lack of truthfulness, or their knowing nothing of her economic ideas? But the Clinton campaign never facilitated that kind of redirection.
Hillary Clinton was so deluded that she became the Obama Third Term in a change election year:
Hillary Clinton fully identified with President Obama’s vision on identity, opportunity, honest government, inequality, the economy, and America’s upward direction, viewing his campaign and governance as successful. She stocked her campaign with his consultants and those who had worked in his White House.
Barack Obama and his Third Term, Hillary Clinton were and are still deluded under their blanket of leftist delusion:
Obama and Clinton lived in a cosmopolitan and professional America that wasn’t very angry about the state of the country, even if many of the groups in the Clinton coalition were struggling and angry. Clinton decided only reluctantly to qualify that narrative in favor of one more sensitive to those who were left behind.
Obama’s refrain was severely out of touch with what was happening to most Americans and the working class more broadly. [snip]
Incomes sagged after the financial crisis, pensions lost value, and many lost their housing wealth, while people faced dramatically rising costs for things that mattered—health care, education, housing, and child care. People faced vanishing geographic, economic, and social mobility, as Edward Luce writes so forcefully. At the same time, billionaires spent massively to influence politicians and parked their money in the big cities whose dynamism drew in the best talent from the smaller towns and rural areas.
Clinton’s default position was Obama’s refrain about America, but she did invite real discussion of these issues and got close to embracing a change posture during some economic speeches and her convention address, and in the debates. But when the campaign got rocked, she reverted to the Obama narrative.
Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton wanted the Obama Third Term. America however wanted CHANGE. Not false hope and chump change. America in 2016 wanted real CHANGE from a change candidate. Greenberg cites Hillary Clinton’s repeated failures to understand America in 2016 and his personal interactions with Hillary Clinton and Hillary2016 for course corrections which did not happen (Early on, I chided the campaign privately for starting every economic talk with dutiful praise for Obama’s handling of the economy, and later told them not to keep saying, “America is already great.” The new American majority, I wrote, “is looking for a president who will address the building problems”—and “not a third term of Obama.”
Hillary Clinton wanted to be the Third Obama Term come Hell or high water. Donald J. Trump promised a change he could deliver. Hillary Clinton offered policy that failed and would fail again. Hillary Clinton deserved to lose and she lost.
Read this anecdote via Stanley Greenberg and see why Hillary lost:
Right before the Connecticut primary, I watched Clinton and my wife, Representative DeLauro, host a café discussion with working women. Beforehand, she greeted me warmly, and afterward Rosa and I hung back in the holding area to let Clinton and me speak alone and frankly. She was really moved and disturbed by what she had heard on the campaign trail, recounting the similar stories from women in suburban Philadelphia, Tampa, and Brooklyn. “They’re in such pain. People are at their wits’ end. They feel hopeless.”
I said, yes, that is exactly what’s happening in the country, which she acknowledged, but then said, “How do I talk about their pain without sounding like I’m criticizing President Obama and his economy? I just can’t do that.”
If you think we are tough on Hillary Clinton and Hillary2016, Stanley Greenberg calls Hillary2016 “completely schizophrenic” (“I just can’t understand why you feel the need to run on progress. You are the past and Trump is change and a better life. You sound clueless in blue collar America.”) Hillary2016 and Hillary Clinton were a muddled message mess.
* * * * * *
The madness of Hillary Clinton is cheap and tawdry. Unlike the great madness of Medea in the play by Euripides, Hillary Clinton’s excuses for her election loss are like piss compared to fine wine.
Medea, the princess who helped Jason steal the Golden Fleece from her father the king, went not so much mad, as vengeful. Medea fled her native land with Jason out of love; Medea loved Jason so much she chopped her brother into pieces, threw the butchered meat of her sibling into the sea so that her father who gave chase in ships would be delayed as he religiously stopped to pick up the pieces of his dismembered son. When Jason of Corinth leaves Medea in order to marry the Greek princess of Corinth, Medea kills the princess as well as the two children she has borne Jason. It is Jason who is driven into madness by the vengeful and righteous Medea. No tears or couldawoldashoulda from the powerful Medea.
No Medea here. Hillary Clinton is deranged and unhinged in a most tawdry manner. Like a homeless hag muttering to herself, ordinarily we would ignore her. But madness is contagious. Hillary Clinton is deranged and unhinged because she never saw what was right in front of her.
Up to the very last hours of election night 2016, Hillary Clinton and Hillary voters were absolutely sure that Hillary Clinton was set for a win. It was delusion.
We knew Hillary Clinton was going to lose. On the Friday before the Tuesday election we published our election prediction and a map of which states Hillary would lose and which states Donald Trump would win. We had doubts about New Hampshire and Colorado. We forecast a Trump win with 281 electoral votes. We only left three states as “too close to call”. Those states? Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania. We thought Trump would win at least two of those states which would make for a larger margin of victory.
On election night, as the New York Times projected a 98% chance of a Hillary win, we provided stellar election coverage (our comments section is an historical record of the play-by-play as the election hurtled towards a Trump victory worthy of Greek drama from the ancient world.) Other websites on the left called a early victory for Hillary. We said, “Trump Will Win.”
The goons of the left knew deep in their bones that Hillary would win. The New York Times, Nate Silver’s silly 538 site, Huff n’ Puff Post loons, DailyKooks, all declared a quick and easy victory for Hillary Clinton even as the night disappeared with only three hours left. Those last three hours however made our analysis that much smarter.
Hillary Clinton never saw it coming. The train. The Trump train. The Trump train that was about to mow her down. And that is why Hillary Clinton is deranged and unhinged.
Hillary Clinton and her voters acted out the latest American Horror Story: Cult. They were sure of victory. No way a man that had never run for political office or been an Eisenhower who won the war in Europe, no way could he win. No way. No way. No way. Then he won.
The unthinkable happened.
Joan Didion’s old essay On Morality: Because when we start deceiving ourselves into thinking not that we want something or need something, not that it is a pragmatic necessity for us to have it, but that it is a moral imperative that we have it, then is when we join the fashionable madmen, and then is when the thin whine of hysteria is heard in the land, and then is when we are all in bad trouble. And I think we are already there.
The fashionable madmen and madwomen are in a whine of hysteria. Hillary Clinton and her failure to see reality and her moral imperative to be in the White House once again has driven the madmen and madwomen into the streets.
Madness is contagious.
The contagion continues to spread. It is now on football fields. But there is a cure. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were cured after years of madness.
Update: Very Strange days indeed. With his powerful speech in support of Luther Strange President Trump might succeed and Strange might win the race that was unwinnable according to all the polls.
We’ve watch the speech repeatedly. It is a powerful speech. It’s powerful because it is brutally honest. President Trump laid out his reasons for supporting Strange pretty much as we noted in our article (below). President Trump also vouched for Strange even as President Trump said Strange might lose in which case PDT would campaign for Moore. President Trump added that Strange would win the general election with ease whereas Moore would have a tough race.
Some other reasons to vote for Luther Strange have now appeared. For one, Moore has come out against the ObamaCare repeal as embodied in Graham/Cassidy. If Luther Strange or Vice President Pence, who will campaign for Luther Strange before Tuesday’s election, focus on this point, Strange will get a powerful boost.
In addition, news has emerged about Senator Corker’s role in persuading President Trump to back Luther Strange. That news has been utilized by Moore supporters to lambaste Strange as an establishment lackey. But we noticed, in an entirely unrelated matter we are told, that the anti-Trump Senator Corker arrived at support for the tax reform bill to be released this week in the Senate almost immediately after President Trump agreed to campaign for Senator Strange. Was there a deal? Strange days.
We are torn on this issue. We want to support President Trump and understand if President Trump emerges as the decisive factor in the Alabama primary race then President Trump will gain strength against his GOP establishment foes. On the other hand we would like to see many primary challenges against anti-Trump freaks like Jeff Flake and a Moore victory would kindle insurrectionary fires in every primary campaign. But if President Trump is seen as the decisive factor in any senate primary race then the GOP establishment might be sufficiently cowed. We’re conflicted. But we see President Trump as the man that might salvage Strange and at the same time beat the establishment with an establishment supported candidate. Strange Strange days.
Meanwhile as the NFL attacks President Trump we side with President Trump and support his call for a boycott of football. Then again, we don’t care for football or sports so our opinion on this does not count for much.
If NFL fans refuse to go to games until players stop disrespecting our Flag & Country, you will see change take place fast. Fire or suspend!
Strange days. Two elections and the implications for many others are part of the very Strange Brew as we bid farewell to Summer and wrap ourselves in Autumn colors.
Friday night, a President Trump rally is scheduled for Alabama. On Sunday a German election looms with grave consequences for the continent. Both elections in Germany and Alabama will say much about the current world situation and the future. It’s a Strange Brew.
In Germany the people are in dire straits. Angela Merkel, the alleged candidate of the right, who is really a true daughter of the old East German Soviet has betrayed the German people with her immigration policies. Throw her out!
Throw her out would be the thing to do. However the totally crackpot leftists nominated someone who is even more openly in favor of the destruction of Germany/Europe/The Free World than Merkel. Both Merkel and her Sergeant Schultz opposition are terrible. The German people therefore have no alternative. Well, there is Alternative for Germany:
Anti-Immigrant AfD Party Draws In More Germans as Vote Nears
Party’s upswing suggests undercurrent of popular distrust threatening to unsettle country’s politics
WISMAR, Germany—Candidate Georg Pazderski of the anti-immigrant Alternative for Germany spent nearly half his speech in this harbor town earlier this week highlighting the danger of Islamist terrorism. Chancellor Angela Merkel dispatched the topic in roughly 80 seconds in an address here the next day.
As this country’s election campaign reaches its crescendo ahead of Sunday’s vote, its participants appear to be fighting different battles. Ms. Merkel, looking assured of victory, is engaging her opponents in mainstream parties on pensions, infrastructure, education, and economic policy. The Alternative for Germany is creeping up in the polls while positioning itself as the only party sounding the alarm about what it says is the existential threat posed by Muslim immigration.
The AfD, as the party is known, is now polling above 10%, less than its peak early this year and well below what other far-right parties elsewhere in Europe have garnered in recent elections. But for Germany, if the polls hold, its impending entry into parliament would mark a turning point in a country where right-wing populism has long been banished from mainstream discussion. And it would show that despite Germany’s thriving economy, an undercurrent of popular distrust and discontent threatens to unsettle a largely stable political system.
The unease is especially apparent here in the former East Germany, where unemployment is higher and the mainstream political parties less deeply anchored than in the more prosperous former West. But AfD is drawing rising support from across the country, polls show.
Interviews with AfD supporters conducted in recent weeks, from the German southwest to here on the Baltic seacoast, yielded one common complaint: Mainstream politicians, the voters said, don’t take their concerns about immigration seriously enough.
Sunday’s German elections will be watched to see how many seats Alternative For Germany garners. It won’t take many seats to send a powerful message, it’s a parliamentary system after all and Merkel won’t even get 40% of the vote. Merkel’s forecast win will be closer to the mid thirties, if that high. There are other dangers for Merkel:
Opinion polls have confirmed the far-right populist AfD’s challenge to the Left party for third place in Germany’s federal elections. Chancellor Merkel has called on people to vote as concerns about abstention grow. [snip]
In polls published on Friday, the AfD was seen to strengthen its third place setting by two percentage points to a projected 13 percent of the vote in an Insa survey commissioned by Bild newspaper, which put it near its highest ranking so far this year. The CDU kept its top spot with 34 percent support, down 2 points and the SPD was down one point to 21 percent. The Left party was showing 11 percent support. [snip]
While voters have a choice of 42 parties and 4,828 candidates, the focus has sharpened on the top three, and the likely coalition which will come from the votes. While the CDU has been holding its position as the SPD weakens, if the opinion polls prove correct then both parties would see their overall share of the vote fall to a level they have not seen since 2009. [snip]
In the last federal elections in 2013, some 29 percent of registered voters did not cast a ballot. This week, polls showed those planning either not to vote or unsure of who to vote for at 34 percent.
Fears of a low turnout, which many experts have said would benefit the AfD as its base is motivated to head to the polls, have encouraged mainstream parties to call for voters to turn out on Sunday.
The German elections this weekend are important. But the big election is the Strange election this coming Tuesday. This is a Whiskey Bar election. It reminds us of the Dreigroschenoper Bertolt Brecht song about Alabama, don’t ask why.
How strange is this Alabama election? The incumbent senator is Mitch McConnell’s pal Luther Strange whom Trump has endorsed. The primary campaign challenger is the anti-establishment Judge Roy Moore. Can anything get Moore Strange than this election?
President Trump has endorsed Luther Strange because Strange voted the way President Trump wanted without any favors or pleas needed. But Strange is the GOP establishment’s guy!
On the other side of Strange, there are many Trump supporters who endorsed the challenger because they want Moore change. Trump’s Secretary of Housing, Ben Carson has called for Moore change.
Sarah Palin has campaigned for Moore change! Sean Hannity and Mike Huckabee want Moore change! Yikes! What is going on???
President Trump remembers how in 2010 and 2012 the GOP chose very right wing candidates then lost the general election and President Trump wants to avoid that fate. However this is very red state Alabama and we doubt that Moore can lose the general election. If Judge Roy Moore wins this primary election on Tuesday, then he will likely win the general election too.
“What’s happening in Alabama is being watched in the halls of Congress and the Senate,” Moore said at a rally over the weekend. “They know what is happening in Alabama. Mitch McConnell knows what is happening in Alabama. They know it is going to affect the future of elections of other senators in 2018 in other states.”
If Judge Roy Moore wins on Tuesday the entire GOP establishment is under threat. That’s why the President Trump endorsement of Strange is so very Strange.
After today the President Trump endorsement is especially Strange. But maybe not so strange in light of how Trump deals. After all, Moore is likely to win on Tuesday. If a Trump rally moves the election to Luther Strange the GOP establishment will clearly see the absolute value of an endorsement by President Trump. Trump gains.
If Strange loses and Moore change carries the day, President Trump can still declare that he did what he thought was right. President Trump can also say in full honesty that the proponents of Moore change all declared their allegiance to President Trump at every rally for Moore.
What would we like to see happen? What would be the best outcome of all this?
We would like to see Moore win on Tuesday. We would then like President Trump to address the ObamaCare vote in the Senate and the latest lies by John McCain immediately before or immediately after this coming week’s ObamaCare vote.
John McCain ran for the senate with lies to the people who voted. McCain lied when he said he would oppose ObamaCare and deserved votes. McCain lied repeatedly.
So what should happen? Moore should win on Tuesday. If Moore wins on Tuesday that should be a strong warning of what awaits the liars of the GOP establishment. Win or lose however, the ObamaCare vote should be taken in the Senate to force the liars out into the open. Immediately before or after the ObamaCare vote, President Trump should announce the congressional ObamaCare exemption is no longer as, a way to punish liars like McCain.
The answer to THE great mystery, which almost every sentient being knew the answer to, is fully revealed. For weeks, after the Summer of Trump III, the great mystery has been why the Obama Dimocrats have changed their approach to President Donald J. Trump.
Obama Dimocrat Senator Feinstein said some nice things about President Trump and was immediately attacked by the Kook left. Nancy Pelousy and Cryin’ Chuck Schumer too signaled they were not about to continue their ceaseless and wild attacks against President Donald J. Trump. These goofballs even signed on to agreements which benefit President Trump even as Big Media attempted to explain it all as a victory for Pelousy and Cryin’ Chuck. “What the Hell happened?” asked the dummies such as those at Axios, who cannot not see the obvious so they come up with crackpot theories instead of looking at what is staring at them in their faces.
Let’s recap: Pelousy and Cryin’ Chuck along with the entire asylum full of American Horror Story Cult Obama Dimocrats were fully engaged in #TheResistance. The plan was to not let President Trump be “normalized” as a legitimate President. The entire Obama Dimocrat strategy was to portray President Trump as Herr Hitler. Resistance! Unfurl the Resistance!!! flags. Let Antifa roam the streets as the black-shirt army of the leftist Resistance! to Herr Hitler!!!!!!!!!!
But how can President Trump be Herr Hitler if #TheResistance Obama Dimocrats are cutting deals? “How can this be?”, asked those who already knew the answer. For the dummies, the American Horror Story Cult of leftist Kooks, the Obama Dimocrat establishment of totalitarians, the answer is finally revealed. The answer is what we here suspected all along. Polls. Focus groups.
Democrats have attacked the president every which way, but polling and focus groups show none of it’s working.
Democrats tried attacking Donald Trump as unfit for the presidency. They’ve made the case that he’s ineffective, pointing to his failure to sign a single major piece of legislation into law after eight months in the job. They’ve argued that Trump is using the presidency to enrich himself and that his campaign was in cahoots with Russia.
Data from a range of focus groups and internal polls in swing states paint a difficult picture for the Democratic Party heading into the 2018 midterms and 2020 presidential election. It suggests that Democrats are naive if they believe Trump’s historically low approval numbers mean a landslide is coming. The party is defending 10 Senate seats in states that Trump won and needs to flip 24 House seats to take control of that chamber.
The research, conducted by private firms and for Democratic campaign arms, is rarely made public but was described to POLITICO in interviews with a dozen top operatives who’ve been analyzing the results coming in.
“If that’s the attitude that’s driving the Democratic Party, we’re going to drive right into the ocean,” said Anson Kaye, a strategist at media firm GMMB who worked on the Obama and Clinton campaigns and is in conversations with potential clients for next year.
Worse news, they worry: Many of the ideas party leaders have latched onto in an attempt to appeal to their lost voters — free college tuition, raising the minimum wage to $15, even Medicare for all — test poorly among voters outside the base. The people in these polls and focus groups tend to see those proposals as empty promises, at best.
Antifa blackshirt thugs, Bernie Sanders’ Bros and Hos, Hillary Clinton, Big Media, will respond that President Donald J. Trump is a chaotic mess and that is a big turnoff. In a political version of the Family Feud game show however, the vox populi has a different and very Trumpian answer:
Pollsters are shocked by how many voters describe themselves as “exhausted” by the constant chaos surrounding Trump, and they find that there’s strong support for a Congress that provides a check on him rather than voting for his agenda most of the time. But he is still viewed as an outsider shaking up the system, which people in the various surveys say they like, and which Democrats don’t stack up well against.
“People do think he’s bringing about change, so it’s hard to say he hasn’t kept his promises,” said Democratic pollster Celinda Lake.
Yes, that is the same Celinda Lake quoted that we featured in our July 25 analysis (…40 million Americans who voted last year will likely not show up at the polls for the 2018 midterms — and that two-thirds of those “drop-off” voters will be millennials, unmarried women and people of color.) Lake’s predictions for 2018 are dire for Obama Dimocrats, as we discussed. In that same analysis we quoted Obama Dimocrat Willie Brown who said pretty much the same as the focus groups confirm:
In focus groups, most participants say they’re still impressed with Trump’s business background and tend to give him credit for the improving economy. The window is closing, but they’re still inclined to give him a chance to succeed.
More than that, no single Democratic attack on the president is sticking — not on his temperament, his lack of accomplishments or the deals he’s touted that have turned out to be less than advertised, like the president’s claim that he would keep Carrier from shutting down its Indianapolis plant and moving production to Mexico.
Voters are also generally unimpressed by claims that Trump exaggerates or lies, and they don’t see the ongoing Russia investigation adding up to much.
The Russia election theft fable won’t work???? But, but, but what about Herr Hitler #Resistance and Charlottesville and NAZIS!!!!! and alt-right!!!!!!!! and oh my god what about Hitler…. Hitler people, Hitler!!!! What about Hitler????? Um, the Family Feud answer is…:
The president’s equivocation on neo-Nazis was not as much of a political problem as his opponents want to believe, Democratic operatives say, and shifting the debate to whether or not to remove Confederate monuments largely worked for him.
“He is the president. The assessment that voters will make is, is he a good one or not? While Democrats like me have come to conclusions on that question, most of the voters who will decide future elections have not,” Canter said.
But what about #TheResistance!!!! What about POLICY!!!!!! POLICY, people, policy!!!!! Surely Obama Dimocrat American Horror Story Cult policy will save the day against Trump, right? RIGHT???? Policy will work against President Trump, right??? Um, WRONG:
Many of the proposals Democrats are pushing fall flat in focus groups and polling.
The call for free college tuition fosters both resentment at ivory tower elitism and regret from people who have degrees but are now buried under debt. Many voters see “free” as a lie — either they’ll end up paying for tuition some other way, or worse, they’ll be paying the tuition of someone else who’ll be getting a degree for free.
Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research and Gerstein Bocian Agne Strategies conducted online polling of 1,000 Democrats and 1,000 swing voters across 52 swing districts for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Their advice to candidates afterward: Drop the talk of free college. Instead, the firms urged Democrats to emphasize making college more affordable and reducing debt, as well as job skills training, according to an internal DCCC memo.
Where are the Big Media headlines about the Obama Dimocrat Congressional Campaign Committee lies about free college tuition? Big Media continues to protect their brethren Obama Horror Story Cult.
But what about “free health care” and Bernie’s Medicare for all lies? Policy people, policy. Surely free health care is a winner against Herr Hitler, right??? Right??? Wrong:
Medicare-for-all tests better, but it, too, generates suspicion. The challenge is that most voters in focus groups believe it’s a pipe dream — they ask who will pay for it and suspect it will lead to a government takeover of health care — and therefore wonder whether the politicians talking to them about it are being less than forthright, too.
Wait until the failed single payer systems of California, Vermont, and Colorado get a full airing during election season. That’s why Obama Horror Story Cult Dimocrats are in for a bloody end of gruesome death.
But what about the minimum wage? The minimum wage, people!!!! Surely the minimum wage will lead Obama Dimocrats to victory against President Trump, right? Right??? Wrong:
Raising the minimum wage to $15 is as unpopular as it was when the Obama White House tried to make it Democrats’ rallying cry in the 2014 midterms. Participants in battleground-state focus groups said they see that rate as relatively high and the issue in general as being mostly about redistributing money to the poor.
The DCCC memo urges candidates instead to talk about a “living wage,” or to rail against outsourcing jobs.
“What you’re seeing is this thing that Democrats cannot seem to figure out — this notion that somehow if we just put the words together correctly that’ll be the winning message and we’ll win,” Kaye said. “That is the opposite of how the electorate is behaving.”
Raise the minimum wage and everyone else has to get a raise and then prices rise, so after all the economic dislocation, the status quo returns. If the government “gave” every American one million dollars a lollypop would rise in price to $50.00.
But, but, but, immigration and trade, people!!!! Immigration and trade!!!!! Immigration and trade will save Obama Cult Horror Dimocrats, right? Right????? Um, WRONG:
On immigration and trade, voters remain largely aligned with Trump. Data show that voters believe that the economy is moving in the right direction and resent Democrats attacking its progress.
Obama Dimocrat strategists are very worried. They see what we see in the polling data and in the zeitgeist.
Obama Dimocrats will resort to lies as usual. These dopes will try the same playbook of loser plays against President Trump that worked so well against the hapless Mittens Romney:
More and more, Democratic operatives are gravitating toward pushing for an argument that Trump is just out to make his rich friends richer, at the expense of everyone else. They believe they could include all sorts of attacks on his decisions under that umbrella, from stripping regulations on credit cards to trying to end Obamacare to pushing for corporate tax breaks.
Will that tactic work? No. President Trump is not Kittens Romney. President Trump has already made it clear that in any tax reform or tax cut his goal is to help the middle class even if that means the rich get schlonged.
The Virginia Governor’s Race May Decide The 2020 Presidential Election [snip]
The Bill To End Virginia’s ‘Winner Take All’ System
The answer is in a bill that was put forward in the Virginia House of Representatives, one that would end Virginia’s ‘winner take all’ electoral vote system: [snip]
Republicans have a near two-to-one advantage in the House of Delegates, 66-34, and a majority in the Virginia Senate 21-19. Current Governor McAuliffe is term limited, and if the GOP’s Gillespie is elected in 2017, the stage would be set for Cole to reintroduce the bill, which would then be free from the danger of a veto.
Donald Trump won the Electoral College handily 306 to 232, but that is of course no indicator of how close the race might be in 2020. If it were a Reagan-type blowout, then how Virginia’s electoral votes were allocated would be of passing interest. On the other hand, if the race were more akin to the Gore/Bush 2000 campaign, any change to Virginia’s apportionment would become vital, if not the deciding factor.
That’s a longer way of saying that in 2020 the state of Virginia will once again be in play but that whatever happens it is likely that President Trump will do well in Virginia, a state he lost in 2016. If the winner takes some system is approved, President Trump will get a bunch of electoral votes no matter who “wins” Virginia in 2020. That’s bad news for Obama Dimocrats. It’s another boulder thrown into the scales of the 2020 election which we predicted President Trump will win. Bigly.

So what is this “real estate scandal” we referenced in our title?
Picture a billionaire at the bulk discounter Costco, not buying anything, rather shoplifting, stealing, all he surveys. Picture this same billionaire at Van Cleef and Arpels, the jeweler on Fifth Avenue. He is not buying anything there either, rather shoplifting, stealing all he surveys. It is President Donald J. Trump and one of, if not the greatest political real estate thefts of all time.
We’ve explored this grand theft politics before. But the theft is now so wildly promiscuous and threatens to grow so massively that only an Obama Dimocrat RICO action could stop it. But it won’t. It won’t stop.
@RealDonaldTrump Walks Away With The Clinton Coalition
The bedrock of a winning coalition, the people Barack Obama dismissed in 2008 as “bitter” and clinging to their guns and Bibles, used to be the FDR coalition and the Clinton coalition. No longer. They are now part of the Trump Triumph. Hillary2016 has abandoned them so they have abandoned her. [snip]
The white working class chased out of the Democratic Party by Obama’s Kook coalition had no where to go but to the Republican Party. Now the former Democrats join in solidarity with the long time populist Republicans – ergo TRUMP.
President Donald J. Trump is the greatest of American political real estate thieves. President Trump stole the Clinton coalition. President Trump stole the Republican Party. President Trump is stealing the Democratic Party of FDR/Kennedy. It’s a political real estate scandal.
President Trump has taken the real estate from the full spectrum of the right wing (far right, moderate right, liberal right) as well as the all important center of the political world, and is on the move to steal the center left and the moderate left. The only real estate President Trump will not steal is the kingdom of Kooks far far left and the dirty swamp.
But is picking up extremely valuable abandoned property, theft? Or is it smarts? The Obama Dimocrat Horror Cult is about to find out just how smart President Donald J. Trump is.
Update: President Trump in Florida to survey the damage and make sure recovery and repairs are carried out as he has ordered.
In case you missed it, President Trump in Florida discussed THE WALL:‘If we don’t have the wall, we’re doing nothing’. President Trump made that comment after some earlier squishy comments in Washington. Here’s the quote in full (at 5:01 in the video): “But we’ll only do it if we get extreme security… if we get not only surveillance… but everything that goes along with surveillance. And ultimately we have to have the wall. If we don’t have the wall we’re doing nothing.” There’s also this (at 5:30) “At some point they’re gonna have to. They cannot obstruct the wall. The wall to me is vital. If I don’t get the wall then we will become the obstructionists.” And this (at 5:42): ‘”We have to have an understanding that whether it is in the budget or some other vehicle, in a fairly short period of time the wall will be funded, otherwise we’re not doing any deal.”
President Trump understands the vital nature of the WALL to his supporters. He will negotiate as a master of the Art of the Deal. The bottom line is results. Results he promised. Representative Steve King is correct that a betrayal on this issue is a betrayal on all issues:
We are sure President Trump will repeat his promises about the WALL to great cheers from those that voted for him in 2016, as he campaigns around the country in the next several weeks for tax reform. Big Media along with Pelousy and Cryin’ Chuck will continue to sow discord among Trump supporters. As long as President Trump keeps his promises as he has on issue after issue, there will be no discord. The base will remain intact and an immovable object.
Today we present a picnic basket of analysis for those of you on the run to take with you as you flee from Hurricane Irma or recover from Hurricane Harvey.
Let’s start with the hurricanes and how the winds are blowing in our political cultural storms (then we’ll get to the fun stuff of American Horror Story and Star Trek and what that says about the zeitgeist).
On Hurricane Irma: run. This one is gonna be a Hillary2016 size disaster. It’s easy to see how bad this storm is going to be just by looking at its size. Run ladies and gents in Florida, run. Pretend a naked Michelle Obama is chasing you. Run!
Hurricane Irma, like Hurricane Harvey will cause a great deal of damage. Houses will float. Roofs will fly.
Hurricane Irma has already blown the roof off of two politicians and let us see them for who they are. We mean Governor Abbott and Governor Rick Scott. Governor Abbott of Texas, the guy in a wheelchair, acted like a superhero movie star. Abbott was everywhere seemingly bereft of sleep for days in order to take care of Texas citizens. Bravo Governor Abbott!
Governor Rick Scott. We’ve always had doubts about this guy. He looked kinda weird to us with his unblinking eyes, chrome dome head, and stilted speaking manner. We were chagrined when he was elected governor of Florida because his opponent was such a loon. Still… we have had reservations about this Rick Scott guy. Had. Hurricane Irma has exposed Governor Rick Scott of Florida as a strong leader who provides timely information and is doing everything we think he should be doing and doing it well. Bravo Governor Rick Scott!
Pay attention to these two governors. They both have a bright future in politics. Governor Abbott has already passed his test of leadership with his command of the Hurricane Harvey disasters.
Governor Rick Scott has passed his test of hurricane preparation but he still remains to be tested during the storm and as recovery begins. We suspect from his performance thus far that he will pass these tests superlatively as well. If Governor Rick Scott does well in the week and weeks to come it is likely that he will become, as we have predicted, the next Republican Senator from Florida if he decides to challenge Obama Dimocrat Bill Nelson in 2018.
What do Governors Abbott and Scott have in common? Well, they are both Republican governors. Most importantly they are both strong supporters of President Donald J. Trump. This means a strong desire by both federal and state governments to do the best jobs possible because there is good will amongst all the parties involved in hurricane disaster preparation.
There is more of course to these double hurricanes than weather or the political fates of two governors. Hurricane Irma, like Hurricane Harvey, will have political ramifications greater than most anticipate. For instance we already see how even the most anti-Trump Big Media outlets have to admit that President Trump’s quick and effective disaster relief efforts elevate his stature as well as the polls which cannot measure the full support of the public for President Trump.

Thanks to GonzoTx in our comment section we have been alerted to a Mark Steyn quote which summarizes what has struck us about the political moment we are in. Steyn writes, culture trumps politics. We have to add, Trump trumps the culture.
What few anticipated was the cultural revolution that President Trump was about to light up as well. This cultural revolution was not entirely a surprise because Donald J. Trump so dominated the news. No other political candidate has set national conversations at the kitchen table and on congressional and Big Media panels to discuss the size of his hands, his hair, his skin coloration, his family, his taste in furniture and decorations, his lunch/dinner habits, his pizza eating style with fork and knife, his possessions, his demeanor, his tone, his counter-punching style, his ego, his private conversations, his public declarations, his movements, his height, his wife’s heels, in short everything about The Donald.
This is not to say that other candidates and presidents have not been put under a microscope. But Donald J. Trump is a nonstop source of conversation. Donald J. Trump is like the mystical cup the Norse god Thor drank from which contained an ocean of drink. This obsession with Trump is astounding.
Obsession has led to the cultural moment. President Trump we now can see, trumps the culture. This is not due to those that admire the man. President Trump trumps the culture because his enemies have made him the cultural icon and brand of the coming era.
It’s a bit like reverse Chairman Mao. The enemies of Chairman Mao in China wanted to get rid of him. They surmised that there were two ways to remove the Chairman. One way was to trash him and bury him. The other way was to elevate him so much he became irrelevant. With President Trump the NeverTrump right-wing and the totalitarian leftists have decided to deride and resist President Trump using all the tools of the culture. But instead of the dominant cultural elites’ destruction of President Trump, what is happening is that President Trump is warping the culture, devouring the culture, trumping the culture! It is astonishing to witness.
Among Republicans on Capitol Hill, “I’ve never heard members and senators so angry at the president of their own party,” one durable Washington hand told me after yesterday’s round of check-in calls. [snip]
Our thought bubble for the president when he spontaneously made the fiscal package deal in front of a chagrined Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan: “You say I can’t make deals anymore? Hold my Diet Coke, and watch this! You say I’m beholden to Mitch and Paul? Watch me make a big deal without them!”
A top aide puts it slightly more diplomatically: “He read the room. Instinctual. … He’s a dealmaker. He saw a deal.”
The NeverTrump right however is irrelevant. They have nothing to offer but anger and rage alongside their words and delusions. Pat Buchanan who ran for President in 1992 and discovered the misery of the white working class in New Hampshire and elsewhere that year was attacked by these loons as a socialist because of his desire to do something to help. Because Buchanan did not bow to the Chamber of Commerce Buchanan was denounced as a leftist. Buchanan is a precursor to Donald J. Trump. Buchanan understands what it is that President Trump dealt to the do nothing congress:
Donald Trump is president today because he was seen as a doer not a talker. Among the most common compliments paid him in 2016 was, “At least he gets things done!”
And it was exasperation with a dithering GOP Congress, which had failed to enact his or its own agenda, that caused Trump to pull the job of raising the debt ceiling away from Republican contractors Ryan & McConnell, and give it to Pelosi & Schumer.
Hard to fault Trump. Over seven months, Congress showed itself incapable of repealing Obamacare, though the GOP promised this as its first priority in three successive elections.
Returning to D.C. after five weeks vacation, with zero legislation enacted, Speaker Paul Ryan and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell were facing a deadline to raise the debt ceiling and fund the government. [snip]
Will he give up on free-trade Republicans to work with Democrats to protect U.S. jobs and businesses from predator traders like China? [snip]
We could be looking at a seismic shift in national politics, with Trump looking to centrist and bipartisan coalitions to achieve as much of his agenda as he can. He could collaborate with Federalist Society Republicans on justices and with economic-nationalist Democrats on tariffs.
Pat Buchanan understands that President Trump is a political force akin to the prairie fire that burns the fields and yields a new harvest from the soil enriched by the death of what once was. The totalitarian left understands this too. That is why we are at this political/cultural moment.
The NeverTrump right wing is a collection of crickets making night sounds in the fields before the prairie fire burns them dead. They don’t matter.
The totalitarian left that tears down monuments and demands political censorship of speech they don’t like is aghast at what is witnessed. The totalitarian left reacted with rage against Senator Feinstein when she suggested that President Trump might not be the devil. The totalitarian left reacted with resistance and rage when their leftist leaders Pelosi and Schumer made a deal with the person they think is a Hitler. “How can you make a deal with Hitler?”
If Pelosi and Schumer agreed to a deal with the man that is hated by the left as Hitler (hey, wasn’t Hitler a socialist too?) then maybe Hitler is not Hitler? What to do, what to do?
The right wing is irrelevant. The totalitarian left is politically neutered but not yet irrelevant. Increasingly the totalitarian left understands their political irrelevance.
Because the totalitarian left understands they are politically irrelevant, the totalitarian left has retreated to the academic heights to fight for relevance. But that has not worked out too well either.
Big Media failed. Politics failed them. Academia failed them. The last refuge for the totalitarian left is the cultural heights they dominate. The left decided to fight President Trump with their most powerful weapon: culture. The cultural elites and their celebrity centurions who hate Trump decided to attack President Trump with the powerful tool that has always worked for them. Culture.
Enter Jennifer Lawrence. Jennifer Lawrence, a beautiful young star of the Hunger Games series (a film series that can be seen as a cinema prognostication of the rise of Donald J. Trump), as well as X-Men and other good films is the star of her latest release, “Mother!“. On a publicity tour Jennifer Lawrence continued her war against President Trump:
In an interview with Channel 4, a British public service television network, American actress Jennifer Lawrence blamed the recent hurricanes on Donald Trump’s voters, because they don’t believe in man-made climate change. During the lengthy interview on her new movie Mother!, the conversation turned political about halfway through. After discussing the alleged pay gap between men and women, the interviewer asked Lawrence about climate change and the political climate in America.
“I mean when the director was asked about the film, why it was so dark, he said, ‘It’s a mad time to be alive.’ And there is certainly an end of days feeling about it. For many people, in America who would say, [grimaces] perhaps it’s truer there at the moment than anywhere else,” the Channel 4 reporter prompted Lawrence to comment.
“It’s scary,” she responded. “You know, it’s this new language that’s forming, I don’t even recognize it. It’s also scary to know, that climate change is due to human activity, and we continue to ignore it, and the only voice that we really have is through voting,” Lawrence stated.
“And you have voted very recently, as a country” the interviewer acknowledged.
“And we voted, and it was really startling,” Lawrence added. She then insinuated that the hurricanes were “Mother Nature’s rage and wrath” at America for Trump.
“You know you’re watching these hurricanes now, and it’s really hard especially while promoting this movie, not to feel mother nature’s rage and wrath,” she stated.
“It’s not just about climate change though is it, in America? It seems to be a time of huge division,” the reporter added.
“Yeah, it’s really polarizing and upsetting. You know I’ve heard things and seen things on T.V. in my own country that devastate me and make me sick, and it’s just really confusing,” Lawrence stated.
“Do you find President Trump confusing?” the reporter pressed further.
“I don’t find him confusing. I think I know exactly what he is,” Lawrence said solemnly before smirking.
Wrapping up the interview, the reporter asked Lawrence how she felt about the future. The Hollywood actress didn’t have much hope with Trump leading the country, calling her recent film a “howl of rage” in response to what’s going on in America:
“I have to feel hope, you know you have to feel hope. You can’t just fall into despair. But a producer on the movie called this film, ‘an impotent howl of rage.’ It’s like a helpless howl to the moon, like, it’s just an assault.”
Lawrence has been outspoken about President Trump before he was even president. Back in 2015, she cried that it would be “the end of the world” if he took office, and told Trump “f**k you” during a 2016 televised talk show appearance. After he won the election, Lawrence penned an open letter to young women on the feminist side Broadly, that the election should “enrage them.”
“[L]ike Hillary, you can still be an inspiration and get important things done. Do not let this defeat you — let this enrage you! Let it motivate you! Let this be the fire you didn’t have before. If you are an immigrant, if you are a person of color, if you are LGBTQ+, if you are a woman — don’t be afraid, be loud!” she wrote.
Jennifer Lawrence might be pretty, young, and whatever. But what Jennifer Lawrence most informs us of is how President Trump is even expanding his assault on the establishment with the aim of conquest of the cultural heights now controlled by the totalitarian left.
Jennifer Lawrence confesses that a film producer called her latest film “an impotent howl of rage. It’s like a helpless howl to the moon, like, it’s just an assault.” Then Jennifer proclaims that she herself has “to feel hope, you know you have to feel hope. You can’t just fall into despair.”
Jennifer Lawrence wants “hope and change” because she does not want to be defeated. JL advises the leftists to be enraged. In the end Jennifer Lawrence is in despair because she sees as well as everyone on the left that President Trump is setting their cultural heights on fire.
All the left can offer as ammunition against President Trump is “an impotent howl of rage… a helpless howl to the moon.”
Jennifer Lawrence is not the only one howling impotently from the leftist cultural heights. The latest politically correct Star Trek is howling along impotently:
Star Trek: Discovery to tackle Trump-era political divide
Exclusive: ‘The Klingons are going to help us look at certain sides of ourselves and our country’
We predict this impotent howl at the moon from an exhausted TV franchise will go the way of Manimal.
These are all examples of impotent howls of rage from the totalitarian left. But to understand the coming cultural overthrow of the left there are few better examples than the latest offering from the American Horror Story franchise, Cult:
The story AHS: Cult surrounds Sarah Paulson‘s character, whose numerous phobias including her fear of clowns worsens after Donald Trump shocked the world and won the 2016 election last November while at the same time a cult of scary clowns begin a murderous rampage in her town.
We thoroughly enjoyed American Horror Story: Coven, the second season of the American Horror Story franchise. We enjoyed AHS so much we even wrote the Obama version of the series.
Our enthusiasm for AHS was due mostly to the wonderful acting of a bunch of women such as Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates. AHS soon degenerated into gore and blood for the sake of gore and blood. The subsequent reincarnations of the series we peeked at then left.
We pretty much decided never to waste our time on sensationalistic drivel of blood and gore. Then we heard about the new season and we doubly resolved not to watch more Trump bashing. Then, curiosity beat us like rented mules, and we proved the Mae West or Oscar Wilde adage as true – “I can resist anything but temptation.” We watched.
It is supposed to be anti-Trump. But what it is supposed to be and what it is are two different things.
AHS is no longer a vehicle for great women. It is now the Evan Peters show. He is a very good actor who has appeared in an X-Men movie, Jackass and other entertainments. AHS is now a vehicle for Evan Peters.
In AHS Peters is a Trump supporter as imagined hysterically through the eyes of the left. He mocks illegal immigrants by singing “La Cucaracha” and they beat him up. He is also clearly a killer. He’s too cute however to be frightening.
What is frightening are the Hillary supporters. What is very funny are the Hillary supporters. The lead woman character, a lesbian married to a lesbian and with an adopted male boy, is just plain nuts. She didn’t even vote for Hillary. She voted for Jill Stein – in Michigan. As she is reminded by an indignant Asian man, Jill Stein got more votes in Michigan than the margin Trump won by. The Asian man’s wife also did not vote for Hillary because as he screams at her “You were too busy with Etsy to vote”. Then the lead Hillary supporter who voted for Jill Stein weeps. It is all comedy.
She didn’t vote for Hillary but she weeps on the shoulder of her wife all the while crying hysterically “Merrick Garland… Merrick Garland… what’s gonna happen to Merrick Garland???” It is so intentionally overdone we all get the joke. To Hell with Merrick Garland the never on the Supreme Court loser that lost big on election night 2016.
The humor does not stop there. The nanny to be to the lesbian couple was a woman studies major who took time off from school to campaign for Hillary. On election night this millennial college student on leave is upset with CNN for declaring Trump as the newly elected president because CNN did not preface the announcement with a “trigger warning”. By the way, she is a killer too.
The lesbian in chief on election night refuses to believe the announced results. She declares “I won’t believe it until Rachel Maddow says it. She is the only one I trust.” The Evan Peters character crushes a bag of Cheetos and applies it to his face, a direct reference to NeverTrump Glenn Beck who did the same during the primaries to mock President Trump.
It’s all an impotent howl at the moon. It’s blood and climate change gore we likely won’t watch again. The cult, the kooks, the embarrassments are not the Trump supporter. The cult of kooks are the Hillary supporters in need of trigger warnings and Rachel Maddow. American Horror Story: Cult is the story of a deranged cult unable to deal with reality. It’s not about clowns. It’s not about Trump. It is about the triumph of Trump.
In 2017 the story is not clowns nor hurricanes. The story is the TrumpNado. The TrumpNado that has knocked down the corrupt political establishment. The TrumpNado that threatens to bring down the cultural establishment too.
The TrumpNado is blasting forth from sea to shining sea, from North to South, in a destructive path through the heartland of the GOP establishment, Academia, Big Media, and the cultural heights of the left. The TrumpNado will level them all. That’s what they fear. The TrumpNado!
