1. Obama is the kiss of death. Obama has tried to create the impression [...]]]> Big Media, but mostly Big Blogs and the Big Blog Boys are in full Obama protection mode. Let’s spell out for them briefly what yesterday was about. Here is a top ten for the sad, Lettermanesque Big Blog Boys:

1. Obama is the kiss of death. Obama has tried to create the impression that he is the savior of Dimocrats. Many times Obama has argued that congressional representatives casting unpopular, “difficult” votes will be saved by his presence. The argument/promise has been that Obama will campaign and raise funds for those who help him and they will thereby be reelected. That myth blew up last night. Obama campaigned repeatedly in New Jersey for well-funded Corzine, the incumbent governor in a deep blue state, and Corzine lost. Obama is the kiss of death.

2. Obama is the kiss of death, II. Blue Dogs now know that the electorate will punish them if they vote for unpopular programs and more profligate Obama spending. Blue Dogs and Dimocrats know that in 2010 there will be hundreds if not thousands of elections and that Obama will not possibly be able to devote his political team (like he did in New Jersey), days of campaigning (like he did in New Jersey), and assure Dimocrats have plenty of funds (like he did in New Jersey and Virginia, though not in Maine where Gay-Americans were concerned).

3. The Obama coalition is dead. The Obama coalition is an historic mistake by Democrats. The Big Blogs are purposefully trying to confuse the “Obama coalition” with the Democratic “base”. As we have repeatedly written the Obama coalition was akin to the demographics of a situation comedy. As spelled out by David Axelrod and Donna Brazile the Obama coalition “is younger. It is more urban, as well as suburban, and we don’t have to just rely on white blue-collar voters and Hispanics”. According to Axelrod “The white working class has gone to the Republican nominee for many elections” so it was time to dump them for the young, the black (er “urban”) and the well-off white liberals in the suburbs. Old people and lunch-bucket Joe and Jane (the white working class) could go to hell with grandma and grandpa along with all those old “controversies” of the boomers. Yesterday grandma and grandpa and the lunch bucket working class, as well as the boomers, told the Obama Dimocrats to “go to hell”.

4. The Hillary Clinton coalition forged by FDR is the winning coalition. Obama and his Dimocrats, unable to win white working class votes created the situation comedy coalition to avoid working for white working class votes. As we wrote repeatedly, Obama had a chance to appeal to these voters (like John Kennedy did) in West Virginia and Kentucky but Obama wrote these voters off. Now these voters have written Obama off. In 2010 these voters will erase the Obama Dimocratic Party from relevancy.

5. OAFs (Organizing For America, the old Obama For America which is now the Democratic National Committee – the official church of Obama) never was and never will be. The day after the November 2008 elections we wrote that the fools and Hopium addled boobs that worked themselves into a stupor for Obama would immediately be betrayed. We wrote about the Hopium addled: “they will soon learn they are not part of the “we” in “we won” We were correct, again.

On February 7, 2009 we documented the moves by Obama to neuter his former campaign workers and organization. We masterfully wrote:

There is no way Obama will allow his minions to actually grab political power and give direction to him. True, Obama set up a corral for his prancing ponies. But the organization Obama Anonymous Organizing for America is a slaughter house. OA is not a place for political wannabees to set themselves up to challenge Obama when the Hopium wears off and they discover the Doctor wants to kill the monster.

6. Obama is a prissy, arrogant, coward. Repeatedly during the primaries when Hillary kicked his ass Obama would run off and sulk. He did that again last night. Obama said he did not watch the election returns because he was too busy reliving the mistake in 2008 by Democrats, broadcast on HBO. Vice-President Dick Cheney in 2006 told the American people that the election in 2006 would not change policy. Americans angered by such arrogance voted Republicans out. In 2010 Americans will once again vote Dimocrats out by the bushel. Obama is a prissy, arrogant, coward.

7. Obama loving Gay-American leaders betray Gay-Americans. Keep sending your money to Obama Gay-Americans on the advice of your fake gay leaders. Obama hates you. Obama did nothing to help in Maine as your advances were taken away. Keep sending Obama money and support, you will get what you deserve for such stupidity. If you want your PRIDE, throw out your Obama fellating leaders. Obama Hates You.

8. The transformational Obama realignment was flim-flam. We used to laugh at Karl Rove and his McKinley/Hanna talk about how George W. Bush had realigned the electorate and other such nonsense. David Axelrod is the Second Karl Rove as he spins pro-Obama tripe about Obama the transformational realigner. Realignment talk is as ridiculous as Obama/Bush “I’m a uniter, not a divider” talk. Obama Dimocrats sold Obama on the basis of Celestial Choirs, 80+ votes in the Senate not just 51, and other celestial bunk. Obama Dimocrats sold Obama on the basis that 2006 would be a victory, 2008 would be an expansion and 2010 would be a hardening that would lead to the thousand year Dimocratic Reich. Virginia last night had a Republican sweep of statewide offices and killed the Obama talk of realignment.

9. Independents are gone. Obama bamboozled with his George W. Bush style “I’m a uniter, not a divider” talk. Obama bamboozled with such talk in order to flim-flam votes from Independents and gullible Republicans and admiring Democrats who did not want a fighter – like Hillary Clinton – who fought for core Democratic values though was always willing to step onto common ground. Big Boy Blogs want Obama to stop the pretense of being a “uniter” even though that was a core Obama promise. Independents see Obama is lying. Independents are gone.

10. The Dimocratic 10-year plan is dead. We’ll discuss this one soon (maybe tomorrow). It’s a six letter word.

Big Blog Boys and Big Media will try to say Dimocrats lost because they did not worship Obama enough and spend enough and waste enough. Big Blog Boys and Big Media will muddy things up by claiming the “base = Obama coalition” wanted more and therefore did not turn out. But the Obama Dimocratic coalition is not the historic FDR “base”. The base is disgusted with Obama’s spend, spend, spend. The Obama Dimocratic coalition was off watching baseball with cousin Pookie and Uncle Jethro.

Surprisingly some in Big Media are saying exactly what we are saying.

Dan Balz of the Washington Post today writes:

For months, polls have shown that independents were increasingly disaffected with some of Obama’s domestic policies. They have expressed reservations about the president’s health-care efforts and have shown concerns about the growth in government spending and the federal deficit under his leadership.

Tuesday’s elections provided the first tangible evidence that Republicans can win their support with the right kind of candidates and the right messages. That is an ominous development for Democrats if it continues unabated into next year.

The key point we have been writing about for years finally emerges in Big Media:

Beyond the shift among independents, there were other worrisome indicators that the coalition Obama attracted last year is a shrunken force, at least for the time being. One question all year has been whether, without Obama on the ballot, Democrats could attract the new voters who went to the polls in 2008. In New Jersey and Virginia, the answer was no.

Many of the young voters who came out in big numbers in 2008 and strongly backed Obama stayed home Tuesday. In Virginia, voters under age 30 accounted for 10 percent of the electorate, half the share they represented last year. In New Jersey, their turnout also was halved.

Meanwhile, the percentage of voters age 65 and older jumped significantly in Virginia and rose measurably in New Jersey. In both states, these voters tilted slightly more Republican than they did a year ago.

A surge among black voters was another key to Obama’s victory in Virginia last year. They were no less Democratic in their balloting Tuesday but turned out in somewhat smaller numbers.

Democrats also saw erosion compared with last year among suburban voters, voters without college degrees and those with family incomes below $50,000. Suburban voters had narrowly backed Obama in Virginia but went solidly for McDonnell on Tuesday; in New Jersey they had voted even more strongly for Obama but were going narrowly for Christie. Non-college graduates voted in roughly the same percentages as a year ago but were decisively more Republican this year — a roughly 30-point shift in Virginia and about a 15-point shift in New Jersey.

Big Blog Boys and Big Media can hide from what we have been writing but the election night tallies will continue to force reality upon them. The Obama situation comedy coalition is the big mistake in ‘08. And just wait as Obama’s blame game no longer works:

Another major shift came on the economy. Polls have shown through much of the year that Americans blame former president George W. Bush more than Obama for the recession. But if the economic collapse was a powerful force working for Obama and the Democrats last year, it clearly helped Republicans on Tuesday.

Just over half the electorate in both states said they were very worried about the economy, according to the exit polls, percentages almost identical to a year ago. But last year Obama carried those voters by 59 to 40 percent in Virginia and by 61 to 38 percent in New Jersey. On Tuesday, McDonnell won three in four of those voters, while Christie won about three in five.

The outcomes of Virginia and New Jersey were sure to feed discussion about the state of the electorate, the status of the diverse coalition that sent Obama to the White House and the limits of the president’s influence — on the party’s base of support and on moderate current lawmakers he needs to advance his legislative priorities.

His signature issue of health care reform was dealt a blow hours before polls closed when Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid signaled that Congress may not complete health care legislation this year, missing Obama’s deadline and pushing debate into a congressional election year. Democrats in swing-voting states and moderate-to-conservative districts may be less willing to back Obama on issues like health care after Virginia and New Jersey showed there are limits to how much he can protect his rank and file from fallout back home.

It’s also difficult to separate Obama from the outcomes after he devoted a significant chunk of time working to persuade voters to elect Deeds in Virginia and re-elect Corzine in New Jersey.

Even hapless Larry Sabato was looking for the Obama coalition:

In 2008, Barack Obama ran 8 percentage points ahead of Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry’s 2004 performance in Virginia, in part because of a massive voter registration effort among African-Americans.

But those new voters on the Democratic rolls aren’t showing signs that they’ll show up as enthusiastically for Deeds as they did for Obama. [snip]

“Who are those missing voters?” Sabato sought to explain. “It’s impossible to know for sure in advance, but it is quite likely they will be disproportionately minority voters and the young — two groups that voted heavily Democratic in 2008.”

Before the disastrous election results, even Nagourney at the New York Times wrote Obama was on the ballot:

New Jersey is a predominantly Democratic state, and one where Mr. Obama invested his own political capital on behalf of Mr. Corzine.

A loss there, particularly if it is part of a sweep, is going to produce a wave of “Obama is in trouble” commentary that, justified or not, will hinder the president at the very moment he needs all the clout he can muster to get bills on health care and global warming through Congress. [snip]

That said, it is worth watching whether Mr. Obama succeeds in turning out his supporters — especially people who voted for the first time last year — in New Jersey and to a lesser extent in Virginia.

That will be an early sign of his ability to transfer his own appeal to other candidates and of whether he has succeeded in building a sustainable new coalition of Democratic voters. That is something that will not be lost on Democratic members of Congress, especially those in moderate and Republican-leaning districts whom he will be pressing to cast tough votes on issues like health care and climate change.

Similarly, in Virginia, keep an eye on whether independent voters who supported Mr. Obama so strongly in 2008 turn out for Mr. Deeds, vote for Mr. McDonnell or just stay home.

Now, one of those great fools is hungover from the Hopium he ingested by the barrel. On the morning after, this great fool is checking his wallet to discover how much money he wasted getting wasted with other fools at the Obama Hopium Bar & Grill.

We’re coming up on the one- year anniversary of Barack Obama’s election. I think it’s maybe time that we asked ourselves how he’s doing.

He didn’t close Guantanamo Bay, and not only didn’t reject the idea of pre-emptive detention but added spice to his own new version of pre-crime prosecution, “prolonged detention.” He promised health care reform and campaigned on a public option, and we all know how that is going to turn out.

But most importantly, he came into office amidst sweeping crises in the financial sector and did not do what needed to be done, and what had been done the last time the U.S. was sent careening into a depression because of Wall Street: he failed to push for tough financial reforms. Barack Obama needed to be the FDR figure who remade the American capital markets and made them fair again, and he barely laid a finger on the whole scene.

Instead, he put the people who created the problem in charge of fixing the mess, and ended up bailing them out instead of the rest of the country, at huge current and (presumably) future cost.The total bill for the Bush-Obama bailout is certainly above ten trillion at this point — Inspector General Neil Barofsky thinks it might hit nearly $24 trillion ultimately — and this went through without much fanfare. Meanwhile, the congress is stuck in the mud, panicked at the thought of paying three or four trillion over a decade or so for a health care program.

The Dr. Frankensteins who created the monster now regret galvanizing the creature to life. The Hopium addled have created a permanent Halloween in America and only now, a year later, do these fools begin to understand the damage they have done. They still do not blame themselves for their crimes. They do however begin to see how the monster they created, are responsible for, is cutting havoc across the land:

None of this is new news. What is new is the question of what to do about it. I’m personally of the opinion that our main problem lay with the fact that the Democratic Party as currently constituted is more afraid of losing the financial support of Wall Street and the health insurance industry and the pharmaceutical industry than it is of losing progressive voters. In fact, I think I’ve put that wrong, because it implies that the Democratic Party pushes the agenda of industry insiders out of fear. That is a misread of the situation, I think.

The fools that created the Frankenstein monster who is Obama, only now realize that Obama empowers the other monsters. Hillary Clinton, with a flaming torch slashing at the monsters, knew how to keep the monsters in check. But the monster Obama empowers the other monsters:

I think they prefer those people to their voters. I think they feel more comfortable with them. I heard a story recently from a Democratic Party operative who tells me that certain members of one of the president’s cabinet departments only got wind of how hard it is out there for ordinary people to pay their bills when they invited in a major corporation to give them a presentation about their financial outlook for the holiday season — and through that report found out that this company’s prospective customers were spending less because large numbers of them had been laid off, or had huge medical bills, or had maxed out their credit, and so on.

Letters from customers, survey answers and such, were read to the cabinet group. And they were shocked. This is how they find out about the economic reality of this country — accidentally, from a major campaign contributor! That’s how out of touch these people are.

The Obama loving writer who hated Hillary and waved the flag for Obama is one of those responsible for the Frankenstein monster who is Obama. Instead of contrition, the Obama loving writer lectures about the anatomy of monsters:

On these financial issues, not just the issue of financial regulation on Wall Street but the larger issue of income distribution and what kind of country we want to be — the Democratic Party no longer has a policy that makes any sense. They do not seem to understand or even recognize that real wages in this country have not grown for most people for decades. [snip]

This is all a long-winded way of saying that we have problems whose solutions involve taking on powerful interests, political challenges that will necessarily involve prolonged and hard-fought conflicts, but what we have in the Democratic Party is an organization dedicated to avoiding such conflicts and resolving issues in the manner of a corporate board, in closed meetings with the chief cardholders where things get hashed out to the satisfaction of everyone present.

We supported Hillary Clinton because she was a fighter. But the Hopium addled wanted a “no blue state, no red state” delusionalist. The very writers, “activists”, Big Boy Bloggers, and politicians who now whine that Obama should attack Republicans are the very same writers, “activists”, Big Boy Bloggers, and politicians that believed and sold Obama’s delusions of 80% votes and what Hillary Clinton mocked as “celestial choirs”.

The idiot Hopium addled writer continues:

The problem from the standpoint of the typical voter is that he is not terribly present in those discussions. When Rahm Emmanuel met with Billy Tauzin and Merck and Pfizer in the Roosevelt Room (how ironic!) of the White House earlier this summer to work out the details of exactly how much of a bite the new health bill was going to take out of the pharmaceutical industry — the answer turned out to be none, and all the insane subsidies of big Pharma are going to remain in the final bill — were you there? Was anyone representing you there?

The Democrats feel safe in leaving you and me out of that room for two big reasons. One, our main electoral alternative is the party that put George W. Bush in office. Two, the last time significant quantities of Democrats decided to buck and send the party a message, they helped get George Bush elected by giving Ralph Nader the deciding votes of what turned out to be the tightest of elections. Or at least that’s the storyline that’s been popular since that incident. The Nader “debacle” forever closed the notion of third-party progressive challenges to mainstream Democrats, at least in the minds of the Democratic Party bigwigs, anyway.

It seems to me then that the only hope of getting any of these problems is to get ourselves a national candidate who on the one hand is a mainstream politician and on the other is willing to embrace the notion of an open protest against the Democratic Party doctrine. We need for someone who has some legitimacy with both the media and the Democratic Party constituents themselves to come out and publicly campaign to re-seize the Party from the Wall Street interests that have come to dominate it. We need someone who understands the finance stuff (which automatically reduces the pool of possible applicants to a small handful), will know the difference between real regulatory reform and a dog-and-pony show, and will not be likely to fill a cabinet with bankers from Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.

The person who comes closest to that job description is Hillary Clinton although the Obama loving writer of the article thinks it is Elizabeth Warren. During the primaries Hillary won the vote of the white working class (in politically correct terms, “lunchbucket Democrats”) because they saw her as a fighter for their interests, not the interests of corruption represented by Barack Obama and his Hopium addled writers, “activists”, Big Boy Bloggers, and politicians.

The idiot writer thinks his idea is “crazy” because it would hurt Obama. The stupidity never ends with this one. However the writer still wants the idea “talked about anyway.” A fool who supported a fool.

The way I look at it, the problem with the Democratic Party is not the voters, it’s the 19 or 20 people who are paying for the campaigns and sitting in at those meetings with Rahm and Billy Tauzin. We have to get rid of those people, herd them all to the edge of a very tall cliff and push them off and be done with it.

The person who could deliver was Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton knew the ropes and how to keep the monsters in their cages. But Hopium addled writers who now want to gather campaign contributors and lobbyists “all to the edge of a very tall cliff and push them off” are responsible for writing paeans to Obama and ignoring the history of their galvanized monster. They still defend Obama even as their foolishness is exposed every day.

During the primaries Obama attacked Hillary and Bill Clinton for the very things he does today:

During his first nine months in office, President Obama has quietly rewarded scores of top Democratic donors with VIP access to the White House, private briefings with administration advisers and invitations to important speeches and town-hall meetings.

High-dollar fundraisers have been promised access to senior White House officials in exchange for pledges to donate $30,400 personally or to bundle $300,000 in contributions ahead of the 2010 midterm elections, according to internal Democratic National Committee documents obtained by The Washington Times.

One top donor described in an interview with The Times being given a birthday visit to the Oval Office. Another was allowed use of a White House-complex bowling alley for his family. Bundlers closest to the president were invited to watch a movie in the red-walled theater in the basement of the presidential mansion.

Mr. Obama invited his top New York bundler, UBS Americas CEO Robert Wolf, to golf with him during the president’s Martha’s Vineyard vacation in August. At least 39 donors and fundraisers also were treated to a lavish White House reception on St. Patrick’s Day, where the fountains on the North and South Lawns were dyed green, photos and video reviewed by The Times and CBS News also show.

Obama trashed Bill Clinton in the same way and on the same issue of White House access as George W. Bush attacked Bill Clinton.

But veteran Washington observers say the Obama-era perks still carry shades of the so-called “donor maintenance” programs of past administrations, when Bill Clinton rewarded fundraisers with White House coffees and overnight stays in the Lincoln Bedroom and George W. Bush invited “Pioneers” to Camp David or his Texas ranch.

And the donor access raises questions about the fervor of Mr. Obama’s stated commitment to clean up what he once called the “muddy waters” of Washington, where political cash is exchanged for access, ethics experts said. [snip]

Only select members of the public, however, were provided access to a series of invite-only briefings by senior administration officials organized by the DNC.

Over the summer, for instance, one of Mr. Obama’s deputy chiefs of staff, Jim Messina, flew to Los Angeles and San Francisco to provide in-person briefings to a small collection of top donors to explain the administration’s plan for tackling health care legislation and counter the rising tide of opposition at town-hall meetings. In another, a group was briefed by one of Mr. Obama’s top economic advisers, Austan Goolsbee.

And festive events at the White House, such as parties thrown to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and July Fourth, were underwritten in part or in full by the DNC. Guests lists for those functions have not been made public.

When Bill Clinton invited donors to the White House it was front page news for months and months. Talk shows and comedians referenced and mocked the fund-raising for years. But Obama is protected by Big Media and those who profit from Obama’s tax-payer funded largesse.

The DNC has presented a menu of exclusive access opportunities to top givers, according to internal DNC documents provided to potential donors and obtained by The Times.

Top-tier donors gain membership to the DNC’s National Finance Committee or to the ultra-exclusive National Advisory Board, both of which meet four times a year, including this week at the Mandarin Hotel in Washington.

“They have an opportunity to meet senior members of the Obama Administration and senior members of Congress, and to hear from political analysts and policy experts,” according to the internal DNC documents.

Mark Gilbert, a Florida businessman who raised more than $500,000 for Mr. Obama, said he gets regular e-mails from the White House on topics that interest him — in his case, economic policy – and he occasionally joins special conference calls for Mr. Obama’s political supporters. The calls are frequently timed to follow up on a major news development out of the White House.

Obama’s promises to ban lobbyists are long gone and forgotten by Big Media and the Hopium addled. The fundraising has not been forgotten by Obama:

Rewards for those who supported the president’s 2008 campaign have been doled out in less formal ways. Two top bundlers, for instance, described invitations to bring their families to the private bowling alley at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, adjacent to the White House. Both spoke on the condition they not be named because they did not want to damage their relationship with the White House. [snip]

In interviews, top Obama donors described different methods for arranging such perks. Some said they contacted Reggie Love, the president’s personal assistant, to request appointments or White House access. Others said they arranged meetings through regional finance directors at the DNC.

“Many people know Reggie because they met him on the trail over the two years he traveled with the president, which is why they reach out to him, but that is not exclusive to donors,” a White House official said. The courtship of top donors is overseen by Rufus Gifford at the DNC in consultation with White House political director Patrick Gaspard, party officials confirmed. Their activities are not new to presidential politics. But they offer a contrast to the public face of the president’s fundraising operation, which has always focused on its efforts to reach out to grass-roots supporters who send small-dollar donations through the Internet.

It’s all a fake. All the Obama openness promises and all the “uniter not divider” slogans sung by the Hopium addled were a fake. Obama is a fake. All the anti-lobbyist talk is a fake.

Since taking office, Mr. Obama has pledged that his administration will be “the most open and transparent administration in history” and has agreed to make public the names of those who sign into White House visitor logs, though a request from The Times for logs that show visits from his top 45 bundlers has so far gone unfilled.

Requests for guest lists to various White House events, such as a recent cocktail reception surrounding the celebration of the Pittsburgh Penguins’ National Hockey League Stanley Cup victory or the Latin music concert last week, have also been denied repeatedly.

The most traditional aspect of the Obama administration’s continued outreach to donors has involved the time-honored practice of doling out ambassadorships to his most prolific financial benefactors. [snip]

For young music executive Nicole Avant, that meant the Bahamas. For veteran political fundraiser Alan Solomont, it was Spain.

The fundraising will not stop:

With many of the president’s top bundlers now serving in ambassadorships, and therefore unable to help with a 2012 re-election bid, the DNC has started the process of recruiting a new round of top givers.

The DNC began cultivating these donors this summer, when Mr. Obama’s health care legislation was facing strong opposition from vocal opponents at town-hall meetings. The president’s top political advisers took commercial flights to California, paid for by the DNC, for meetings with key donors in Los Angeles and San Francisco. [snip]

The most exclusive access to the president has been reserved for Mr. Obama’s closest friends, many of whom also served as donors and bundlers during his campaign. When the president hosted a Ramadan banquet at the White House, he invited three top fundraisers, Hasan Chandoo, Wahid Hamid and Lutfi Hassan. Mr. Chandoo and Mr. Hamid, who both raised between $100,000 and $200,000 during the campaign, had been college roommates of Mr. Obama’s.

Marty Nesbitt, who bundled between $50,000 and $100,000, and John Rogers, who bundled more than $500,000, have both spent time with Mr. Obama in the White House, including joining the president in the White House movie theater, which Mr. Obama’s aides said is nothing surprising.

According to those that hate lobbyists, money buys not only access but clout. In the case of Barack Obama we have evidence of that lobbyist clout in the Obama deals with Big PhaRma. But Obama told the Hopium addled he hated lobbyists.

Obama lied. Obama loves lobbyists.

Politico published an article today but somehow missed out on calling Obama a Liar. “Liar” is the missing word.

At a meeting last April with corporate lobbyists, aides to President Barack Obama and Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.) helped set in motion a multimillion-dollar advertising campaign, primarily financed by industry groups, that has played a key role in bolstering public support for health care reform.

The role Baucus’s chief of staff, Jon Selib, and deputy White House chief of staff Jim Messina played in launching the groups was part of a successful effort by Democrats to enlist traditional enemies of health care reform to their side. No quid pro quo was involved, they insist, as do the lobbyists themselves.

Lobbyists “involved”??? Lobbyists??? Didn’t Obama ban lobbyists? Liar!

Instead of using the short and accurate word “Liar”, Politico runs around in circles:

The result has been a somewhat unlikely alliance between an administration that came into power criticizing George W. Bush for his closeness to Big Business and groups such as the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America and the American Medical Association.

The previously undisclosed meeting April 15 at the offices of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee led to the creation of two groups — Americans for Stable Quality Care and a now-defunct predecessor group called Healthy Economy Now — that have spent tens of millions of dollars on TV advertising supporting health reform efforts.

In the most recent ad sponsored by Americans for Stable Quality Care, Obama speaks directly into the camera for 60 seconds, extolling the virtues of health care reform, while text at the bottom of the screen encourages viewers to visit the websites of the White House and the Finance Committee, which this week approved a 10-year, $829 billion health overhaul.

Both coalitions operate independently of the administration and Senate Democrats, and spokesmen for both the White House and Baucus said that no pressure — implicit or otherwise — to join the pro-health-care reform groups was applied to industry representatives at the meeting.

“Liar”, it’s that simple. Why can’t Big Media use the appropriate word? Why won’t Big Blogs use the appropriate word? Instead of focusing on the reptiles and the “balloon boy”, Big Blogs and Other Blogs should use the appropriate word for Obama: Liar.

If the Mafia did this it would be called “using muscle” in a “protection racket”. But when Thug Obama and the Barack Obama Thugs (hereinafter B.O.T.s) use muscle it is called “a more subtle dynamic”:

Indeed, attendees describe a more subtle dynamic: The Democratic officials made no overt demands. Rather, they brought together the players and laid the groundwork for the creation of the coalition, and that was followed by more direct solicitations from an outside Democratic consultant, Nick Baldick, retained by Healthy Economy Now, asking attendees at the meeting to join the coalition and contribute to its ad campaigns.

One ethics expert, however, said the meeting still raises issues. No matter how careful Messina and Selib were to avoid conversation about Healthy Economy Now, their mere presence at what proved to be the coalition’s creation raises questions, said Bill Allison, a senior fellow at the Sunlight Foundation, a nonpartisan, nonprofit group that advocates for greater transparency and ethics in government.

“There’s no problem with sitting down at the table and talking,” said Allison. “But if they are signaling that they would really like these groups to support health care reform and trying to tell the groups how they’ll benefit from the plan, they’re laying a ‘quid’ on the table, and — even if they don’t discuss dollar amounts or advertising strategies — they’re suggesting what the ‘quo’ is, which is the groups’ support for the plan.”

“Liar”. It’s real easy Big Media – “Liar”.

Days after the meeting, Healthy Economy Now’s website address was registered, and meeting attendees began receiving unsolicited calls asking for cash for the coalition from Baldick, whose firm — Hilltop Public Solutions — had been hired to run Healthy Economy Now.

In addition to PhRMA and the American Medical Association, the strange-bedfellows coalition included AARP, the American Cancer Society, the Business Roundtable, the advocacy group Families USA and the Service Employees International Union, as well as trade groups for biotech and medical device firms.

The supposedly more hatedful lobbyists are the ones which lived up to Obama campaign promises and refused to participate in secret meetings with B.O.T.s.

Other attendees opted out. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and America’s Health Insurance Plans refused to participate in a group backing a plan that they would ultimately oppose — and the insurance group this week emerged as the most aggressive opponent to the bill Baucus shepherded through his committee.

Where was C-SPAN??? Where was the public in this “conversation”? Darn it, we are being churlish by comparing words with actions. Where was the public which also had “a great deal at stake in health care legislation”? Where is Big Media and Big Blogs asking these questions?

Many participants in the meeting had a great deal at stake in health care legislation. At the time Healthy Economy Now launched the first of its ads May 12, PhRMA was negotiating with Baucus and the White House a complex deal in which drug makers would contribute $80 billion to lower costs in exchange for avoiding downward pressure on drug prices.

Isn’t that “in exchange for avoiding downward pressure on drug prices” exactly what Obama said he would oppose when Obama attacked those who are carrying water for the drug companies? It turns out that Barack Obama, once again, is the one carrying water for the drug companies. No surprise to us, Obama is a repeat “water carrier” for the drug companies.

The Associated Press later revealed that PhRMA had agreed to spend a whopping $150 million pushing the health overhaul — a sum that included its contributions to Healthy Economy Now and Americans for Stable Quality Care.

Some participants said they felt distinct pressure to sign on to the coalitions. “What were we supposed to say? No?” asked a participant who represented a group that joined the coalition but who did not want to be identified discussing the meeting for fear of jeopardizing the group’s position in ongoing talks.

Allison said that it is not only the April meeting that troubles him but also the whole approach Baucus and the White House have taken in attempting to negotiate with potential adversaries.

“What you’ve had was the Senate and the White House sitting down and cutting deals with special interests,” he said. “I don’t think that’s quite what the American people signed up for when the Obama campaign said that they were going to limit the influence of special interests in this White House.”

And Axelrod stink is wafting through the air:

And congressional Republicans distributed talking points asserting the PhRMA deal raised “serious questions as to whether the drug lobby is helping to bankroll a multimillion-dollar severance package for one of the president’s senior advisers.”

Such a series of Big Public Lies, but Big Media and Big Blogs continue to protect the Big Liar(s). How many other lies is Obama pushing if he can so imperiously wave off this Big Lie?

Tokyo governor Shintaro Ishihara yesterday said the 2016 Olympics might be the last Olympics. He is right, but for the wrong reasons.

Ishihara blames global warming. But the Olympics are already an anachronism comparable to the now ignored World’s Fair excesses. Does anyone care or is anyone even aware that the World Fair nonsense continues? Paris in 1889 gave the world the Eiffel Tower built for the Exposition Universelle. Brussels in 1958 erected the Atomium. The Seattle Space Needle rose in 1962. The Unisphere in New York City gleamed forth in 1964.

But in a world in which every day we each hold our own world’s fair via the Internet and in which world wide travel is open to most citizens of the world, the artificial setting of a world’s fair is a relic that can easily be put to rest.

For the curious, China’s Shanghai will host the 2010 Fair, South Korea’s Yeosu the 2012 Fair and Milan, Italy will host the 2015 Fair. Obviously someone somewhere thinks these fairs are of some use, but they are not the massive world wide phenomena we now associate with the World Cup of Soccer or the Olympics as we have known them.

The Olympics, like World’s Fairs, are headed to obscurity now that athletes are able to compete anywhere, anytime. It is possible that the Olympics will split up and various sports figures will gather periodically in various cities to compete.

But the notion that massive sports competitions do anything but foster nationalism and division (long gone too is the notion that while the games were in session nations would cease warfare), corruption and financial waste and ruin, and nasty jockeying for position based on reasons distant from the athletic spirit is a difficult notion to defend The view that the real motivations of the International Olympics Committee is promotion of athleticism is not congruent with reality.

If Chicago is chosen as the victim city in 2012 the corruption and crookedness in Obama’s Chicago will finish off the Olympics there and then. Chicago will be the Olympic Tombstone.

The Olympics might also be a lens for Americans to see Obama as the cesspool lily he is.

President Barack Obama’s hometown allies have brought Chicago to the brink of landing the 2016 Olympic Games, but after Obama makes the city’s case before the International Olympic Committee Friday morning in Copenhagen, the president’s own legacy will become inextricably intertwined with the fate of Chicago’s bid.

History has shown that’s not always a good thing.

Much has been made of the potential international embarrassment and Republican attacks Obama might endure if the IOC rejects his pitch. Any such backlash would very likely have limited shelf life, but a successful outcome in Copenhagen could arm opponents with ammunition for more than six years, particularly if preparations for the Chicago Games were beset by the delays, cost overruns and controversies that have plagued Olympics past.

It is amazing to us that Politico is finally waking up to the “allegations” of the Corrupt Circus which is Obama’s Chicago:

Add the reputation for political corruption in Chicago and Illinois, and you’ve got the basis for a joke making the rounds in Copenhagen, where the IOC also will vote on whether to include rugby and golf in the 2016 Olympics.

“If they’re going to add a new sport for the Chicago Olympics, corruption would be a great one — they’re really good at that,” said David Wallechinsky, vice president of the International Society of Olympic Historians, which is meeting in Copenhagen.

That fun loving truth teller, Wallechinsky, thinks Obama should run from the games if Chicago is chosen as the victim city.

But it would be hard for Obama to do that, even if he had stayed home from Copenhagen, as the White House initially signaled he would, according to Ben Joravsky, a veteran columnist for the liberal newsweekly Chicago Reader. He predicts the Games will shred the city’s parks, drain its tax dollars and become a patronage vehicle for the political machine headed by Chicago Mayor and Obama supporter Richard Daley.

“Obama got out of the swamp. Now why would he want to dive back in?” said Javorsky, who — in a column urging Obama to skip Copenhagen — wrote: “Once you make a grand pitch for Daley’s games, they’ll become your games too. Every scandal, cost overrun, and delay (and you were around this town long enough to know there will be plenty of each) will be laid at your feet by Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, and all your other haters.”

Javorsky apparently has not studied Obama’s history with Rezko and Valerie Jarrett, nor Michelle Obama’s patient dumping hospital past. Obama did not leave the swamp. Obama created news swamps.

Then-Sen. Obama told the buoyant hometown crowd that “in 2016, I’ll be wrapping up my second term as president, so I can’t think of a better way than to be marching into Washington Park alongside Mayor Daley, alongside Rahm Emanuel, alongside Dick Durbin, alongside Valerie Jarrett, as president of the United States and announcing to the world, ‘Let the Games begin!’”

We expect by 2016 Obama will be languishing in obscurity or a jail cell along with Mayor Daley, Rahm Emanuel, Dick Durbin, and Valerie Jarrett. Let the indictments begin!

Genuine community organizers are against the license to fleece which the International Olympics Committee is asked to grant Obama and Daley:

But Rhoda Whitehorse, a retired public school teacher and 40-year Chicagoan who traveled to Copenhagen with the group No Games Chicago to urge the IOC to reject the city’s bid, said that Obama, Daley, Jarrett and other Olympic backers are underestimating the mounting popular opposition in their hometown to the games.

Pointing to a September Chicago Tribune poll showing 47 percent favoring the bid and 45 percent opposing it (a falloff from a February Tribune poll showing 2-1 support), Whitehorse predicted “a lot of the backlash will hit President Obama. People who were Obama supporters are appalled that he would support Mayor Daley in this.”

Other cities which hosted the Olympics have not fared very well (nor been free of corruption), although the sponsors and those who fleeced the cities with shiny objects and hope drenched dreams came out with bulging pockets full of cash. Greece is an example:

But Greek politicians are still pointing fingers, trying to assign blame for the tens of millions spent since the conclusion of the 2004 Athens Olympics in maintaining vacant and dilapidated facilities that have not been converted to public use as promised before the Games — a not uncommon phenomenon in Olympics host cities.

China’s beautiful recently-built stadium is slated to become a shopping mall.

Hypocrite Obama supporter Bob Herbert of the New York Times attacked Mayor Bloomberg in New York when Bloomberg tried to foist the Olympic deficits on New York City:

“The rascals used to do this sort of thing in back rooms, while worrying about headlines, indictments and handcuffs. Now they’ve figured out how to do it legally,” opined New York Times columnist Bob Herbert a couple of weeks before an obscure state board sunk the stadium plan, essentially bringing the Olympic bid down with it.

Clearly Obama is out to fill the pockets of his Chicago thugs. There is no other logical explanation for the stupidity of the Clown heading to Copenhagen. Even if the “rumors” of Obama taking a detour to Afghanistan or some other destination were true, the Copenhagen trip is nuts.

Why give the IOC the ability to embarrass the United States? Any cost/benefit analysis would show that the limited benefits of gaining the Olympic bid compared to the potential loss of prestige and influence at a time of critical events in health care legislative efforts and Afghanistan and Iran would weigh against a Clowns To Copenhagen program.

Did we mention the cost/benefit analysis of Chicago Corruption exposed?:

Obama’s personal involvement in pushing an American bid is unprecedented for a U.S. president.

In addition to being the first president to personally lobby the IOC, Obama established the first-ever White House Olympics office (tapping Jarrett to head it) and recorded several videos seeking support from IOC subcommittees.

Until joining the Obama administration, Jarrett was both vice chairwoman of Chicago 2016, the $49 million nonprofit enterprise created in 2006 to lead the city’s bid, and CEO of The Habitat Co., a real estate company that is among the bidders to build the 3,500-unit Olympic Village.

Though she sold most of her holdings in Habitat real estate, White House spokesman Ben LaBolt said Jarrett “was unable to sell” one real estate holding and a self-insurance interest.

“The holdings have nothing to do with the Olympic bid,” said LaBolt, adding that ethics officials “determined these presented no conflict in performing her duties as a White House adviser.”

But in order to clear Jarrett to head the Olympic office in spite of her unpaid work for Chicago 2016, the White House ethics lawyer granted her a waiver from Obama’s ethics policy barring officials from working on issues affecting previous employers — something Olympic detractors point to as evidence of the threat of Chicago-style pinstripe patronage if the city wins the Games.

Four of the five co-chairs of Obama’s Inaugural committee continue to have unpaid leadership roles in Chicago 2016, including Pat Ryan, the chairman and CEO of Chicago 2016; John Rodgers, the treasurer and director of Chicago 2016; Bill Daley, the former Clinton administration commerce secretary and brother of the Chicago mayor; and Penny Pritzker, the Chicago businesswoman and Hyatt hotel heiress who led Obama’s meteoric presidential campaign fundraising.

Pritzker’s family also owns or manages a handful of hotels singled out by Chicago 2016 as accommodations for Olympic workers, press and family members.

Ryan and Priztker each contributed $100,000 or more to Chicago 2016, as did White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers, an Obama family friend, who also served on the Chicago committee. It still counts Obama confidant and vacation companion Eric Whitaker among its members. Jarrett was replaced as vice chair by Martin Nesbitt, the treasurer of Obama’s campaign and another Obama family insider.

ASK Public Strategies, the Chicago-based corporate public relations company founded by Obama political guru David Axelrod and owned and run by some of Obama’s top presidential campaign consultants, was paid “in the tens of thousands” of dollars by Chicago 2016 to do “communication management [and] communication planning,” said former Axelrod partner Eric Sedler, who did not work for the Obama campaign but is in Copenhagen, along with Pritzker and Jarrett.

“ASK has worked on the bid for three years and for two-thirds of that time our work has been pro bono,” said Sedler, who would not speculate on whether the company would be in line for more Olympic work if the IOC picks Chicago.

In an ironic twist, ASK in 2004 helped craft an advertising campaign credited with rallying public opposition to Bloomberg’s stadium plan on behalf of the owners of Madison Square Garden, who feared that the proposed Olympic stadium — which would have been built blocks away — would have cut into their business.

New York State records show that Madison Square Garden paid ASK $1.16 million in 2004 — the biggest lobbying contract of the year in the state.

Though Axelrod participated in ASK’s first meeting with Chicago 2016 and continues to receive buyout payments from selling ASK last year, LaBolt stressed that ASK’s payments to Axelrod aren’t affected by the firm’s revenue. And he asserted “all Americans stand to benefit from a winning bid to bring the Olympics to Chicago in 2016, but neither David Axelrod nor Valerie Jarrett has a personal financial stake in the bid.”

Last week, floating on our pink cloud headquarters, high above American cities, we discussed what we would have done with this Big Pink website if Barack Obama in January had passed a Hillary style Home Ownership Loan Corporation and Health Care Reform (not IRS enforced largess for insurance and pharmaceutical companies). On our pink cloud we agreed that we would have had to cease publication after a long and detailed series of crow eating, humble pie ingesting, articles.

But the celestial choirs did not sing in January, it was a 2010 election slush fund that passed in the early months, and our predictions of future Obama behavior are on target because “history is a teacher”. And we are still in business. We could cease writing new articles and actually simply provide dates and links for earlier articles and republish them – for all the accuracy contained therein.

On our pink cloud, parasols shielding us from the close sun, we also discussed the castrated left and how silent those lambs have been now that Obama has declared in no uncertain terms that illegal immigrants (or undocumented workers to Dimocrats) cannot get health insurance. The lambs have also been silent regarding the ban on abortion funding for women under the non-existent Obama “plan”.

Yesterday, an angry Jesse Jackson threatened to slice off Obama’s testicles. Jesse Jackson apparently does not realize that Obama has no “nuts” to cut off.

The fundamental truth about the Obama administration is that it is the Bush administration run by slightly less incompetent, marginally less evil people:

* The Iraq occupation will end when Bush wanted it to.

* The Bush administration’s campaign of eradication of fundamental civil liberties, including the gutting of the 4th amendment and holding people without trial, continues.

* The Afghan war continues, and is even being escalated.

* The signature issue of “health care reform” is a scheme which will force citizens to buy private insurance which, because of lack of effective controls, will increase in price faster than wages or inflation.

* Obama and Geithner have followed the Bush/Paulson financial policies, virtually to the letter, spending trillions bailing out Wall Street and creating a financial sector which has fewer, larger actors with more political power than before.

* Obama continues to exert pressure primarily on Progressives rather than on Blue Dogs in order to obtain relatively more conservative rather than liberal bills. (This is not an accident.) The most liberal bill always comes from the House, the conference committee bill is inevitably closer to the more conservative Senate bill. (This is not an accident.)

* Unlike Bush Jr, Bush Sr., Clinton, and Reagan, Obama has not replaced the prior administration’s district attorneys wholesale, instead leaving in place the majority of the Bush administration DA’s who had survived Rove’s purges intended to make sure they were loyal Republican apparatchiks.

* Obama has not cleaned out the administration in general of Bush-era appointees and plants; indeed he has filled less spots than either Clinton or Bush II had by this point in their terms—and no, it’s not because the Senate won’t confirm them.

* Obama appointees will be forced to resign if the right wing (aka Beck) goes after them hard, but if progressives don’t like them, tough luck.

* Obama’s economic team is filled with people who created the framework which allowed the financial meltdown to occur, who didn’t see it coming, and whose solution to it is to give money to their friends and colleagues and try and get another bubble started.

* Etc.

In most meaningful ways, Obama is running a slightly kinder, gentler and very moderately less-stupid version of the Bush constitutional framework.

Plus ça change plus c’est la meme chose.

Poor B.O.T.s – we almost feel sorry for their French quoting, “creative class” self-aggrandizing asses – but we’re too busy laughing at them.

Just imagine what those little “creative class” boobs will do when they have to figure out what to write about after the already delayed immigration reform does not happen; when the Defense of Marriage Act remains untouched (Hillary would have smartly gutted the operative sections of the law but left the law in place to further confound the right-wing. The Obama Hopium addled however did not like Hillary’s sensible, clever solution and instead believed the flim-flam man when he said he would repeal the whole thing. Now they get nothing.); and they finally realize what we told them lo those many years ago was right. Poor B.O.T.s.

We’ll laugh ourselves silly and fray our white gloves applauding, just at the very thought of what the B.O.T.s will say or do, when they discover Barack Obama is raising millions to secure the Dimocratic nomination in the Senate race in Pennsylvania for Arlen Specter – even as the Hopium addled B.O.T.s raise millions for their enemy Blue dogs. The latest Obama induced distress is the news that Obama will once again agree with George W. Bush:

The Obama administration supports extending three key provisions of the Patriot Act that are due to expire at the end of the year, the Justice Department told Congress in a letter made public Tuesday.

Lawmakers and civil rights groups had been pressing the Democratic administration to say whether it wants to preserve the post-Sept. 11 law’s authority to access business records, as well as monitor so-called “lone wolf” terrorists and conduct roving wiretaps.

The provision on business records was long criticized by rights groups as giving the government access to citizens’ library records, and a coalition of liberal and conservative groups complained that the Patriot Act gives the government too much authority to snoop into Americans’ private lives.

As a presidential candidate, Barack Obama said he would take a close look at the law, based on his past expertise in constitutional law. Back in May, President Obama said legal institutions must be updated to deal with the threat of terrorism, but in a way that preserves the rule of law and accountability.

Obama is still fluffing his “expertise in constitutional law”. How Obama can say that with a straight face is a miracle medical science is yet to explain. Perhaps criminal psychiatry is the study which will explain that mystery.

As to the Obama Patriot Act itself, Dimocratic Senator Leahy will hold a hearing next week and maybe he will invite Obama’s befuddled minions to cry on camera against the perfidious law, for our amusement.

The Patriot Act stab in the back by Obama will not preoccupy his lemmings for too long. Today the Senate Finance Committee is supposed to release some hash writing which passes for the draft plan they will continue to knead until the Committee gives birth to something, anything.

The non-existent plan is already dead and the Duds at MyDud are weeping. The Duds are in such bad shape they concede the Republicans (well, Olympia Snowe) opposing the Baucus bill have a point. The Duds write: “To be fair to Senator Snowe, some of her concerns on the Baucus bill are valid and mirror concerns held by liberal Democrats.”

The Hill newspaper has the weep inducing details on the Finance Committee produced mouse:

Senate Democrats are going to have to move forward on healthcare without a single Republican supporter after Sen. Olympia Snowe said Tuesday she could not back the Finance Committee’s bill.

Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) failed to win any Republican backer despite weeks of intense negotiations behind closed doors to strike a deal.

Snowe (Maine), who was one of three Republicans who backed the $787 billion economic stimulus package, was being lobbied heavily by the White House, and some centrists view her refusal to strike a deal with Baucus as troubling. But concerns about how the plan would be paid for prompted her to back away in the hours before its release.

What’s a B.O.T. to do? The Hopium addled will whine and threaten and shout “reconciliation!” but these castrated boys don’t have the testicular fortitude required to admit they have been flim-flammed by Barack Obama. The Hopium addled will stomp feet and say clever things in French. Some of the Hopium addled will feel ever so cool when they post video of the song “Won’t Get Fooled Again”.

Some of the Hopium addled B.O.T.s will denounce the drifty Snowe and ignore her sad complaint:

Obama and Baucus have suggested paying for a big chunk of reform by levying new taxes on high-cost insurance plans. Specifically, Baucus has suggested a 35 percent excise tax on insurance plans that cost single individuals more than $8,000 a year and cost families more than $21,000.

Snowe’s problem with that plan is that it could impose a heavy tax burden on Maine, which has one of the highest average health insurance premiums in the country. A July study by Harvard economist David Cutler found that Maine, on average, has the fourth-most costly insurance premiums in the country, trailing only Connecticut, Delaware and New Hampshire.

Snowe said she is concerned about Baucus’s plans to tax high-cost plans.

Snowe will not be the only Senator troubled by the flaky Obama plans:

For example, family plans in low-cost states such as Kentucky would be taxed above $21,000 but Massachusetts families wouldn’t see plans under $25,000 taxed.

But this threshold would be pegged to the consumer price index, and because healthcare prices are rising faster than inflation, many Maine families could see unexpected taxes after a decade.

Snowe is also having a meltdown over the “affordability” issue.

Snowe has objected to Baucus’s bill for requiring as many as 4 million uninsured Americans to buy health plans without providing them with significant federal subsidies.

Snowe said that lawmakers cannot expect people to comply with a federal mandate to buy health insurance if affordable plans are not available

“The affordability question is crucial,” said Snowe. “It’s a central component, because at the end of the day people have high expectations they will have access to affordable health insurance.”

Why have access to affordable health insurance when you can have “Hope” and “Change”? Who needs health care without the currently planned high premiums and high deductibles – so high you will effectively be transferring wealth to insurance companies for no services whatsoever other than the privilege of handing over money – when you can bask in the countenance of the beaming face and big grin of Barack Obama? These Hopium addled B.O.T.s got what they wanted: Hope, Change, and Obama.

The Castrated Left should be happy now that they have their precious Obama and all the Hope, Change, and Patriot Act (and “racists” everywhere to denounce) they can stomach.

Who needs movies, television or other drollery when we have, for free, the French quoting creative classes to entertain us? That’s Entertainment!
