Wanna be snakebit by SnakeMitt? Candidate @RealDonaldTrump warned President-Elect Donald J. Trump about the danger of vicious vipers.
Donald J. Trump knows how to hire people. Trump hires the best. Trump knows how to hire for his company. Trump knew how to hire for his campaign. Remember “The Apprentice”? Remember “Celebrity Apprentice”? Donald J. Trump hires the best and his judgement should be trusted.
However… Does anyone want President-Elect Donald J. Trump to be Snakebit by SnakeMitt? Candidate Donald J. Trump warned President-Elect Donald J. Trump about snakes.
Here’s our latest video:
Mitt Romney says “You knew damn well I was a snake, before you took me in.”
This here Trump feller is one smart cookie. He’s a chess player yes. But he’s an even better poker player. During the primaries when the election was fixed against him in favor of Jeb Bush, Trump repeatedly said that if the Republican Party did not treat him fairly he would walk, and take his millions of voters along. The result was the Republican Party forced a loyalty oath on him, which Trump craftily used to trap the other nominees and the Party hierarchy, which in the end resulted in a Trump nomination victory.
Trump knew all about the art of the deal and Trump knew the GOP could not afford to lose his voters. As Trump won primaries, the GOP establishment in the form of the Mitt Romney clowns tried to use Ted Cruz as their cat’s paw to destroy Trump. Instead Trump beat them all. But rust never sleeps and these rusty political clowns continued to troll the streets in an attempt to scare Donald J. Trump.
Twelve days into October we can see the green felt table in the Riverboat with Donald J. Trump, in a vest, bands around his biceps, over his white cotton shirt, a Maverick style cowboy hat with silver band on his head tilted back, playing high stakes poker with blue eyed pus*y boy Paul Ryan.
Question: “When you’re not talking about politics, what do you and your father talk about?”
When you see a bush, a pus*y boy is not far behind…
Paul Ryan thought he was clever. The tricks the little blue eyed pus*y boy plays on Capitol Hill, he thought, would be used against Trump to great effect. First, before-during-after the convention, attack Trump every chance you get for whatever Trump says all the while pretending you have made your peace with the Trump nomination. Second, at a crucial moment before a debate and a few weeks before the election, finally announce at the end of a press release that you invited Donald J. Trump for the first time to a campaign event in your home district. Third, after the invitation release the tape that shocks pus*y boys, in order to destroy Trump. Fourth, signal the grassy knoll firing squad with a very public “disinvitation” and denunciation of Trump. Fifth, get pus*y boy Mormon and Romney ally Jason Chaffetz to withdraw his endorsement. Sixth, get more pus*sies to disendorse Trump. Seven, after Ayotte, McCain, and tens of other GOPers denounce Trump, have everyone call on Trump to withdraw and hint the replacement will be the VP nominee Mike Pence even though everyone knows it would be Paul Ryan.
Paul Ryan’s plan never would have worked but Ryan never thought of that, because Ryan is a pus*y boy about to be schlonged by the big fingered Trump.
Why would the Paul Ryan plan never have worked? Because Trump is a fighter that does not quit. Trump wrote the Art of the Deal so he knows how to negotiate. Trump knows when to hold them and when to fold them. In short, Trump is a smart man and Paul Ryan is a pus*y boy. The definition of a pus*y boy? A pus*y boy does not have a strong woman’s vagina – he is only good at getting fuc*ed.
So after all the plotting, pus*y boy Paul Ryan found himself at a green felt table, in a Riverboat, playing poker with Donald J. Trump, six-shooters at his side fully loaded and rarin’ to blast. Trump got dealt his hand and then pus*y boy grabbed his, um, cards. Pus*y boy Paul placed his bet that Trump would get out after Trump saw all the chips arrayed against him.
Pus*y boy Paul placed his chips on the table – Chaffetz, the Gropinator Arnold Schwarzenegger (the guy that groped all those women and who while married to a Kennedy, impregnated his own maid), John McCain (the guy that has the dirtiest mouth in D.C. having even called his own wife a “cunt” and a “whore”), and threats of more, although Trump knew pus*y boy Paul had no more chips to play. Trump knew that at the Wisconsin event Trump was disinvited from some in the home town crowd booed the pus*y boy. Trump knew that Joe Heck of Nevada was also booed for his attacks on Trump. Trump knew he held, the trump cards.
So after pus*y boy Paul placed his bet, piled all his chips in the center of the table, the moment arrived. Would Trump meet the bet? Or would Trump fold, throw down his cards in surrender? Trump did what the pus*y boy never expected. Trump not only met the bet, Trump did what Trump does – TRUMP RAISED THE STAKES!!!!!
Trump put his chips on the table. Trump’s chips are the Republican Party at every level, the House of Representatives, and the U.S. Senate. Trump made it clear: “if I walk, I take my voters with me and you lose not only the White House, the Supreme Court, the Senate but you also lose all your power in the House of Representatives.” Trump made it clear he understood that a House of Representatives run by a Republican pus*y boy and a Senate run by a self interested conniver would stand up to the next president about as much as they stood up to Barack Obama. Trump knew without him in the White House TPP would pass almost immediately as would illegal immigration amnesty – and the Supreme Court that bowed to Obama on ObamaCare would be even worse. So Trump knew his voters and the American People had nothing to lose. Without Trump in the White House it was all over. So Trump raised the stakes in an international game of poker that even James Bond would not dare play.
Members on the call with Ryan described tense exchanges. The call lasted for about 45 minutes, before abruptly ending.
However, the Republican National Committee has pledged its continued support.
Some of the GOP’s most conservative lawmakers also continue to back Trump and chastise those who have abandoned him.
“We have to get on board. It’s all in or nothing,” Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert, who was on Ryan’s call, told Fox News on Tuesday.
He said 11 House members are with Ryan, whom Gohmert also lambasted for saying his focus is now on ensuring that Clinton doesn’t enter the White House with Democrats having taken control of the House, too.
“It’s not going to happen,” said Gohmert, arguing the Republicans now control the House and Senate but have not effectively stopped the Obama administration’s agenda.
Another House member on the call said outspoken California Rep. Dana Rohrabacher called Republican leaders “cowards.”
Pus*y Ryan and the GOP establishment only have energy to attack Donald J. Trump. The GOP establishment coddles Obama. Promises from the GOP of future action are null and void ab initio.
Pus*y boy Paul thought he could play his games and win. Then Trump raised the stakes. In retrospect, Trump was always going to win.
There are some Trump supporters, Monica Crowley on Tuesday night for instance, who believe that Donald J. Trump should let surrogates attack the GOP and that Trump should only go after Hillary2016. We respectfully disagree.
We believe Donald J. Trump should continue to be unshackled for the remainder of the week. Trump has been getting his kicks in at the opposition party in the form of Hillary2016. But Donald J. Trump’s real opposition is the ruling class establishment – particularly the establishment of the Republican Party – and Big Media. We think Trump should continue to break the GOP Quislings and Big Media all this week and into next.
Trump can turn his attacks and attention against Hillary2016 after he dispatches his GOP opposition party. Next week there will be another debate. Trump can go to the debate having defeated the GOP establishment and Big Media. Then Trump can take on Hillary2016.
Donald J. Trump loves Wikileaks. Donald J. Trump loves to play high stakes poker. Donald J. Trump loves to win.
Donald J. Trump holds the trump cards. Despite all the cooked polls immediately after Friday to be followed by a dramatic rise after the second debate all the higher, Donald J. Trump will win. Why? Because it’s a change election. That’s all you need to know.
Sarah Palin is so smart. Idiots mock Sarah Palin because they don’t like her speaking voice, or her manner of speaking, or her education outside the Ivy League. The idiots think Sarah Palin is an idiot. But Sarah Palin is so so smart.
Sarah Palin will work to defeat House Speaker Paul Ryan by backing his primary opponent in Wisconsin, the former Alaska governor told CNN’s Jake Tapper.
Palin said in an interview that airs Sunday on “State of the Union” that her decision was sparked by Ryan’s bombshell announcement to Tapper last week that he wasn’t yet ready to support Donald Trump, the Republican presumptive nominee. Palin endorsed Trump back in January.
“I think Paul Ryan is soon to be ‘Cantored,’ as in Eric Cantor,” Palin said, referring to the former Republican House majority leader who was ousted in a shocking upset in 2014 when challenger Dave Brat ran to his right in a Virginia primary.
“His political career is over but for a miracle because he has so disrespected the will of the people, and as the leader of the GOP, the convention, certainly he is to remain neutral, and for him to already come out and say who he will not support is not a wise decision of his,” Palin continued.
Ryan says he would step down as convention chair if Trump asks
Sarah Palin did Donald J. Trump a solid. Trump’s hands are clean on this because he did not coordinate with Palin on the very clear threat to Speaker of the House Paul Ryan. Trump can proceed in good faith to his Thursday meeting with Paul Ryan. Trump should listen to Paul Ryan then conclude the meeting with a firm “go to hell”.
When Paul Ryan declares that the GOP “standard bearer” should bear the GOP standard what Paul Ryan means is “Trump without Trumpism”. Paul Ryan will tolerate Donald Trump only if Trump does what loser Paul Ryan commands. “… Trump had yet to prove he shared the conservative values and principles necessary to be the party’s standard-bearer” means Paul Ryan wants Trump to be the GOP establishment chump. Trump without Trumpism is what the GOP establishment and Paul Ryan demand.
The GOP establishment goal is to sabotage Trump and the new emerging Republican Party so the ancien régime can maintain control and maintain their privileges. The ancien régime will do nothing for the American people other than continue the disaster of policies which weaken American workers with low wage policies and turn America into a garrison state for international taskmasters. Trump rejects all that.
This is where we elevate Sarah Palin to “very smart” status. Sarah Palin was merely “smart” when she Kabonged the treacherous Paul Ryan with a threat, not only to his Speakership, but to his very existence as a legislator. But Sarah Palin must be considered “very smart” because of what Sarah Palin sees, that we saw long ago, and that the GOP establishment only at this very late date begins to perceive.
We, Sarah Palin, and a few others see that there is a New Republican Party rising. Pretty boy Paul Ryan and the GOP establishment want to abort the birth of the New Republican Party.
That is what this election cycle is about. You can’t “Make America Great Again” without a new political establishment. The New Republican Party, built with the bones of the Obama destroyed Democratic Party of old, is rising.
THERE CAN BE NO PEACE BETWEEN DONALD J. TRUMP AND THE GOP ESTABLISHMENT. FOR THE NEW REPUBLICAN PARTY TO RISE AND MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN THE GOP ESTABLISHMENT MUST DIE.
The GOP establishment knows of their death to come. So the ancien régime dreams fevered dreams and new plots to stop their own funeral.
There can be no peace. The GOP establishment must be killed. Consider, both major political parties for their own selfish reasons, seek to impose illegal immigration amnesty, common core, disaster trade policies such as TPP. Both parties are in cahoots on these issues. Donald J. Trump is against illegal immigration amnesty, common core, disaster trade policies.
The GOP establishment wants to sell the notion that the problem with Donald J. Trump is one of “tone” and bombastic “personality”. But the GOP establishment’s problem with Donald J. Trump is one of policy. That’s why there can be no peace. One must die for the other to live.
Donald J. Trump is against what both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party want to impose on this nation. Recall that many of the abominations of the Obama gangster government were birthed by Republicans. TARP, Common Core, bailouts, trade deals – were authored by George W. Bush and then co-authored by Barack Obama. ObamaCare? It used to be called RomneyCare.
Donald J. Trump is against what both the Democratic Party of Barack Obama and the Republican Party of George W. Bush have imposed on American citizens. The American people are against what the Democratic Party of Barack Obama and the Republican Party of George W. Bush have wrought. That’s why there is a New Republican Party rising.
Donald J. Trump, aided and abetted by the voters, will bring about a realignment – a New Republican Party. Sarah Palin will help birth the New Republican Party.
A brand new strategy emerged this week in the efforts to Stop Trump. In a week filled with lots of battlefield feints, retreats, attacks, endorsements, resignation, triumphalism, victories, defeats, reports and smoke screens, those with discernment, who saw the rise of Donald Trump from the very beginning, now see a new framework emerge in the ancien régime’s battle against the revolutionary Donald J. Trump.
The new strategy is an old one. It is a variation of “if you can’t beat ’em, join them”. This new Stop Trump strategy is to accept Trump but reject “Trumpism”. Put another way, “if you can’t beat ’em, dilute ’em, absorb ’em when you join ’em”. The response to this latest strategy, one that Donald Trump appears to now embrace is: LET TRUMP BE TRUMP!
In those articles we noted how #Hillary2016 has fallen headfirst from trap to trap as Hillary has ignored our analysis and lives in a world of delusion. #Hillary2016 is once again falling into a #TrumpTrap – but more on that later. For now, recall our “destroy Donald Trump” analysis: (1) Yeah, the only way to destroy Donald Trump is to steal his issues. But that is easier said than done because of the nature of Donald Trump’s main issue. That main issue that belongs exclusively to Donald J. Trump? From our July 2015 analysis: DONALD TRUMP’S MAIN ISSUE IS THE WHOREHOUSE CORRUPTION THAT IS WASHINGTON, THE POLITICAL CLASS, AND BIG MEDIA.
Today, with Donald J. Trump over 1,000 delegates (AP says it is 994), the Washington whorehouse corruption admits that Trump will be the GOP nominee because of the voters. The strategy now from the Washington whorehouse is to turn Trump into a whore just like them. It’s Trump without Trumpism.
Trump without Trumpism??? That’s the entire aim of the “be presidential” crowd. Big Media and the GOP establishment, they’ve been wrong about everything about Trump, but now they provide the “be presidential” poison in a chalice for Trump to drink.
With varying enthusiasm, GOP elites are accepting Trump as their nominee
Throughout the Republican Party, from New Hampshire to Florida to California, many leaders, operatives, donors and activists arrived this week at the conclusion they had been hoping to thwart or at least delay: Donald Trump will be their presidential nominee.
An aura of inevitability is now forming around the controversial mogul. Trump smothered his opponents in six straight primaries in the Northeast and vacuumed up more delegates than even the most generous predictions foresaw. He is gaining high-profile endorsements by the day — a legendary Indiana basketball coach Wednesday, two House committee chairmen Thursday. And his rivals, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, are making the kind of rushed tactical moves that signal desperation.
The party is at a turning point.
This is a revolutionary moment, as again we predicted. The ancien régime accepts that Donald J. Trump will be the 2016 GOP nominee. But the ancien régime wants Trump to be “presidential”. That’s another way of saying “Keep the body, lose the soul.”
Trump’s response today and for the past week has been a variation of “go to Hell GOP establishment!” Trump has repeated in speech after speech that he will not change his winning formula. Day after day Trump repeats “why change what’s working?” “If you have a football team, and you’re winning, and then you get to the Super Bowl,” he said, “You don’t change your quarterback, right?”
As eloquent as Trump has been with his “go to Hell GOP establishment” there is someone who has been even more eloquent. Bobby Knight. Bobby Knight made his grand declaration on behalf of Donald J. Trump in one of the many rallies he attended next to Donald Trump in Indiana:
“You know, quite frankly, I don’t give a damn about the Republicans,” Knight said. “And then on the other hand, I don’t give a damn about the Democrats, either.” The “Republican” crowd cheers at the attack against the Republican Party. Bobby Knight in one quick sentence, presumably stated in front of thousands of Republicans, trumpeted the Trump message.
With all the above in mind, let’s take a quick look at the week’s back and forth.
We’ll start with Cruz/Carly. The announcement by Cruz of Carly Fiorina for his VP pick was a disaster. In 2012 we declared the death of the Romney campaign the moment he nominated Paul Ryan for his VP as a way to escape his troubles. Romney was under attack and he thought a VP announcement would change the topic from the attacks to the pick. It was a disaster for Romney. Ditto Cruz/Carly.
Not only was the Cruz Carly announcement a foolish attempt to escape bad headlines, the announcement itself was so amateurish, so church basement, so tiny, it had zero impact. Cruz, if he was so so desperate, should have made an announcement of an announcement. Announce that this Sunday he would make a big announcement then as the buildup failed, leak it was a VP announcement, to try to spark some interest. Instead, Cruz got nothing.
Why do we think Ted Cruz did what he did – that no one else sees? This, from April 4: Suzanne Jaworowski, who co-chaired GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina’s Indiana campaign, confirmed Monday to IndyStar that she’ll serve as Trump’s state director. Carly to counter Jaworowski. Why this small play? Cruz wants to continue to pretend that he has a chance to somehow magically win so he will do anything to continue the pretense and for that pretend game to continue Cruz must win Indiana. It’s over for Cruz, has been since South Carolina.
Cruz and Kasich fell into a trap of their own making. Hillary2016 continues to do the same. The hapless Hillary2016 campaign is falling into a tried and true Trump Trap. We’ve seen this so often we barely wake up now when it happens. Trump laid traps for Jeb!, Rand, Carson, Rubio, Cruz, and the rest of them and they all walked into the trap. Now it is Hillary’s turn to walk into the trap thinking it is a luxury hotel in California.
What is Trump up to with the attacks on Hillary and the “woman card”? Trump is laying a trap. Trump wants Hillary to attack him for “sexism” so he can drop the bomb. This happened once before and Hillary retreated wisely and swiftly. Now, Hillary is once again marching into the trap.
There is nothing wrong with Hillary2016 making the case that a woman in the White House as chief executive is a good idea. Barack Obama and his crooked campaign made the case that a black man as President would solve all sorts of problems, such as racial conflict at home and the Muslim hatred of America. None of that worked out well. Racial, ethnic, leadership qualities, whatever you want to tout as your qualifications is fair game. But watch out. Obama got away with his lies because neither Hillary, McCain, nor Romney called him out with thundering voice. Trump is no Hillary, McCain, or Romney. Trump has nuked his opponents and whoever that is this year better be very very careful.
The dolts in the Hillary Brooklyn hindquarters headquarters don’t see the trap Trump has laid out, so we will lay it out: Trump will effectively secure the GOP nomination when he wins in Indiana or California. Trump then (now is a bit too early so Trump is laying the groundwork as gently as he is capable of) wants to pivot to an all out attack on Hillary which will be in two main prongs. The first prong will be a blistering personal attack. That attack will come as Hillary walks into the “woman card” trap. Hillary2016 thinks it is clever with the “woman card” counterattack but that is exactly what Trump wants. At some point Hillary (or Bill, or her supporters) will overreach and call Trump “sexist”. That’s when Trump will pounce with talk about young women interns as cigar humidors and language never heard of before in a presidential campaign. As with the first time this Hillary overreach occurred, the Trump response will be ugly and brutal and much much more lurid than the first time.
Hillary, when you complain about "a penchant for sexism," who are you referring to. I have great respect for women. BE CAREFUL!
The personal attack against Hillary will soon enough encompass not only Bill Clinton, it will reach out to Chelsea Clinton and her husband for their hedge fund history. Enough said? The GOP establishment like Hillary2016 does not see any of this coming because they have never understood what Trump is up to or how he arrives there with preparation.
The second prong of the Trump attack against Hillary2016 is the one we have been warning against for years now. “The Obama Third Term” attack against Hillary 2016. Trump this week began to use the phrase “Obama third term” which is no surprise. Hillary Clinton herself gleefully walked into this trap too.
That second line of attack is one that will be used against whoever the Democrats nominate. Trump will run against the “Obama third term” no matter who it is.
Whoever runs against Trump better be prepared against all of the above and two issues that merit their own separate articles. Trump’s speech on foreign policy and the latest Obama economy bad news got lost in the noise of the past week. But those were the important news items of the week.
Trump’s foreign policy and the rotted Obama economy are the twin fuels that drive the #TrumpTrain engine and lead to November 2016 for #Trump2016. The rest is mostly noise.
A coalition of conservatives committed to stopping Trump blanketed the nation with 7,000 TV ads over the last week directly attacking him, according to figures published Tuesday by the Center of Public Integrity (CPI).
About 40 percent of the anti-Trump ads were concentrated in Florida, a March 15 winner-take-all state where Trump currently leads in the polls.
The Conservative Solutions PAC, which supports Rubio for president, was responsible for two-thirds of the attack ads against Trump over the last week, according to the study.
Also lending a hand was another outside group called Our Principles PAC, manned by a group of former Mitt Romney and Jeb Bush aides. It launched in January with the explicit purpose of taking down Trump. [snip]
Several other groups, including a super-PAC aligned with the fiscally conservative group Club for Growth, as well as ’s campaign and well-funded pro-Cruz super-PAC, are also pitching in.
Once more! This time, unlike the many times before, let’s hear it with feeling “It’s over for Trump!”
Roll out the Hitler comparisons, sluice out the broken down polls, get Neil Bush to endorse “anti-establishment” Ted Cruz in alliance with the Mitt Romney shills for Ted Cruz help, slap together some hallucinations about a brokered convention, ignore the reality of the primary calendar, assault the electorate with a phalanx of attack ads, sign on the low wage pro-importation of workers high tech titans of Silicon Valley to donate money for more attack ads, increase the Big Media sludge attacks, unite the entire establishment not just the GOP establishment to attack, and continue to dream that “it’s over for Trump”. But the problem is reality.
It’s another election day and it is still boring because not much has changed at all despite all the noise about things changing. The problem the anti-Trump campaigners have is that their attacks come to late. If Trump wins Florida and/or Ohio he is the nominee no matter what they do. As the calendar changes to winner take all next week the guy that is ahead by even a little, wins big.
Today, at ET 8:00 Mississippi polls close. At 9:00 Michigan, at 11:00 Idaho, at 1:00 in the morning Hawaii. It’s still all about March 15 and tonight is just a prelude.
The exit polls are in and we can examine them after the vote to make sense of what the voters did. Before the votes are in, here is the state of play for the GOP: Reuters tracking poll has Trump at 40% with Cruz the second at 23%. Big Media only notes the NBC(!) poll that shows Trump leading in only single digits. Supposed “anti-establishment” Ted Cruz has hired the criminal Neil Bush of the Silverado scandal and assorted other criminal enterprises to join his “anti-establishment” campaign.
Our Principles PAC, backed by Nebraska’s billionaire Ricketts family, has poured millions into trashing Trump. American Future Fund is dumping $1.75 million in Florida this week; Club for Growth $1.5 million.
Hedge-fund billionaire Paul Singer is backing the Conservative Solutions PAC, which has dumped millions into anti-Trump ads and plans to spend more than $7 million between March 1 and 15, with $4 million of that going into Florida. The super PAC pile-on is unprecedented.
How well Trump fares in Michigan and Mississippi, measured against how well he was doing in polls last week, will reveal just how successful super PAC savagery has been in changing hearts and minds.
Can millionaires and billionaires who back open borders, mass immigration, globalization and the disappearance of nation states into transnational collectives overwhelm with their millions spent in ads the patriotic movements that arose this year to the wonderment of America and the world?
Ted Cruz is a tool. The game is still take down Trump. After Trump is removed then the low wage/illegal immigration amnesty candidate will be imposed on the electorate. Ted Cruz is a tool to take down Trump. Previous tools include Lindsey Graham, Carly Fiorina, Ben Carson, Marco Rubio, Rick Perry, etc. The next tool after Cruz collapses, will be John Kasich. Tools and fools against Trump. As we wrote long ago: It’s a Fix! and there’s nothing dumber than a Cruz supporter.
This election gets dull. It grows duller by the day. It was exciting. It was real exciting. But now we are in the mop up operation stage. So it is dull – unless you are the guy with the broom sweeping up after the parade went by.
Last week we saw shocking news. Few took notice. The few that noticed did not get the meaning. A late week innocuous bit of news meant to hide and not be noticed. We saw the tapestry move. It was a subtle ripple of the tapestry but the tapestry moved. The players hiding behind the tapestry were busy. Did you see it? Did you see the significance?
That subtle wave caused by frantic maneuvers behind the tapestry should have been noticed by Hillary2016. But they are so stupid at the Brooklyn headquarters a truck busting through a plate glass window into the middle of a restaurant smashing pots, pans, and dishes, would be missed by them.
On the Republican side the tapestry moved too. But on the Republican side you could hear Moe, Larry, and Curly pummel the tapestry, the cacophony of pots and pans clang, each of the stooges noisily fall over each other, so that if you did not see the wild flapping and shaking of the tapestry you could not miss the clanging cloppery of the clowns.
So the last guys to lose the presidential election think they can win the nomination by not running but instead staging a coup at the GOP convention. It would work if they were up against a pushover who won’t fight. But they’re up against Donald J. Trump.
On Tuesday, Idaho, Hawaii, Michigan, and Mississippi hold elections. Neither Mitt Romney nor Paul Ryan are on the ballot. Again, as we wrote before the last set of elections, these elections are a prelude to the final battle on March 15. On the Ides of March, Florida, Illinois, Missouri, North Carolina, the Northern Mariana Islands, and Ohio, vote. Neither Mitt Romney nor Paul Ryan are on the ballot.
In just about every poll of elections on March 8 and March 15, Donald Trump is ahead. That’s as it always has been. Some questions have been raised after SuperTuesday about a weakening Trump lead. But what has happened is not a Trump weakening, but a collapse of Rubio. This past week and weekend we saw Rubio support move to Cruz but Trump’s numbers, as Nate Cohn noted, remained stable.
Still, Trump is taking a beating. In Florida most ads attack Trump. Today the Trump counterattack ad war begins.
For the record, we think the Trump ad sucks. It’s a run of the mill political ad. What would we suggest? Tie the Marco Rubio real estate deal to the type of real estate deal Barack Obama did with Antoin “Tony” Rezko. Marco Rubio did exactly what Barack Obama did. The only difference is that Barack Obama was the bigger crook getting bigger money from a bigger crook. How come no one is making the connection?
Rubio’s campaign is in collapse and that almost assures Trump of winning winner take all Florida. Rubio supporters declare his great Puerto Rico victory as a big help in Florida with its one million Puerto Ricans. But how many Puerto Ricans in Florida are Republicans and how many of that sliver will vote for Rubio? That type of wishin’ and hopin’ is all Rubio has left.
But enough Florida, the action now is Michigan and Mississippi and the other March 8 contests. Trump is ahead in Mississippi in the last poll taken there by 24 points. In Michigan, Trump remains on top with Rubio sinking to last. Rubio might not even make the 15% threshold to get any delegates at all.
Tomorrow, this dull election continues. We’ll soon see if Trump wins Michigan and/or Mississippi which will lead to victory in Florida and Ohio. If that victory happens Rubio and Kasich will be out, only hated Cruz will remain. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan better get ready to strap on their burglar tools and steal the nomination.
As Mittens and Ryan go shopping for burglar suits, we suggest everyone go to bed and rest up for Tuesday night. If you have trouble sleeping, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders will participate in a Fox News town hall event tonight and that should make you slumber. We will not watch. We didn’t watch the debate on Sunday night either. These “debates” are just too dull.
These dum dem debates are dull because there is no real fight. Bernie Sanders pretends to punch and Hillary pretends to care. It is dull, dull, dull.
If Bernie Sanders ever decides to fight we will wake up. If Hillary decides to stop the pretenses we will watch. But these dum dem debates are dull and a bunch of phony.
The dum dem debates are dull because they are phony. If Hillary attacked Bernie Sanders and his philosophy of socialism and why that is bad on a philosophical and real world impact then we would watch. If Bernie Sanders would stop his little bitchy insinuations and just come out and say what he believes “Hillary Clinton is corrupt because she is a tool of crony capitalists and is a crony capitalist herself who exploits the working class and the middle class to enrich herself and her 1% friends” then we would wake up. That would be a real fight, not the phony pretend slaps we see.
The real fight is between doddering Hillary/Bernie and the ones behind the tapestry. Last week we saw the tapestry move.
We do not believe Hillary Clinton nor Bernie Sanders will be the nominee. We’ve said that for a long while now. We doubt anyone needs much explanation for why we doubt Bernie Sanders will ever get the nomination, so let’s ignore him. But Hillary Clinton? Last week evidence began to pour in. The first bit of evidence got attention:
(CNN)The Department of Justice has granted “immunity” to a former State Department employee who worked on Hillary Clinton’s private email server. Bryan Pagliano initially invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination and would not testify. Of course, the Department of Justice, known to defense attorneys simply as the “government,” has many ways of getting people to talk.
The big question is whether there is a grand jury convened. The smart bet is yes. After all, the fact that there are immunity agreements logically means there’s a grand jury investigation in some district. The grand jury is typically the genesis of the government’s subpoena power. The next, bigger question, is whether anyone will be indicted.
The mere fact that the DOJ wants to talk to Pagliano does not mean anyone will be indicted. But if the DOJ is investigating criminal activity, they tend to find criminal activity.
In general, when the government wants to talk to someone, the person falls into one of three categories: target, subject, or witness. [snip]
Indeed, the government frequently knows more than the person they actually want to talk to. They are good at what they do; it’s no accident that the federal conviction rate is well above 90%. [snip]
While Pagliano is surely in an unenviable, nail-biting position, we can draw some inferences from recent events. Whether he had zero potential liability, or some liability, he’s probably not a “target.” Why? Because if he were, his attorney would probably not let him talk to the government, and the government would probably not give him immunity. Remember, the government is parsimonious with immunity deals. Another, less reliable inference may be drawn not about Pagliano, but others who are not Pagliano.
The person who often has to worry the most during this process is the person who hasn’t been approached at all by the government. That’s a chilling indicator that you may be the target.
This immunity deal was not decided by a minor government functionary. This decision went to the top. The decision was made behind a tapestry in our modern day Borgia Italy.
President Barack Obama and his family will continue calling Washington home after he departs the White House next year — at least for a little while. [snip]
“We’re going to have to stay a couple of years in D.C. probably so Sasha can finish,” he said. “Transferring someone in the middle of high school? Tough.”
If you believe that Barack and Michelle Obama are staying in Washington, D.C. because of school you need to go back to the first grade and get your I.Q. tested.
This year, brokered, counter-revolutionary, conventions are in fashion. Romney declares himself the tapestry vox populi and Barack Obama says he won’t go back to the Rezko house because of his great concern for his daughters which he did not have when he moved them to Washington. As if.
The tapestry moves. The plotters are busy. Corruption is everywhere.
Update: Hanging Chad Horror! Ted Cruz lip visitor. First on upper lip. Then leaps to lower lip. Ugh! What was that? Mama!!! We’re scared!!!
In 2008, we were younger and foolish then, the Democratic Party Rules Committee engineered a rules coup against the winner of the most votes in order to steal the election and nominate Barack Obama. Now the Republicans try the same trick. Unlike Hillary Clinton, Donald J. Trump will not cower in this fight.
Donald J. Trump will be under establishment attack tonight at the debate in Detroit. The only allies Trump has are voters.
The Michigan Republican Party Chair is Mitt Romney’s niece. Party Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel distributed the audience tickets for tonight so the house will be papered with Trump haters. The Fox moderators will be well known Trump haters. The other candidates on the stage will do anything to destroy Trump. Big Media will attack Trump. The viewers of the debate will be the Trump supporters who continue to vote him victory.
Mitt Romney declared it a time for choosing but could not bring himself to choose. [snip]
In failing to back a single Trump alternative, Romney essentially called for a Republican civil war to wage through this summer, a retrenchment for an irreparably divided GOP in hopes of outmaneuvering Trump at a contested convention where party elites still control some levers of power. (Also, by not picking a single anti-Trump standard-bearer, Romney, who briefly considered running for president again in 2016, left slightly more open the door that might allow a contested convention to select him.)
Can this Republic be saved when such corruption rules? Republicans will decide that question. Romney chose to bypass the electorate. Hillary Clinton better be prepared for her own palace coup at the Dem convention when once again she will be schlonged by Obama.
The Republican establishment, the political establishment, says “screw the voters, We Rule, not the people.” The GOP establishment is in full panic.
Tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET, Donald J. Trump will be goaded and mocked in an attempt to get Trump unhinged and somehow get Trump to destroy himself. Trump’s wife Melania however has told Trump to “be presidential”. It’s good advice. That good advice in the voice of his lovely wife is one Trump should constantly repeat to himself as he endures the barbs orchestrated to get the only person that can destroy Trump to do the job. Trump is the only person who can destroy Trump. It’s too late for the losers who have failed and failed again.
Rubio cannot get the nomination unless he gets 2/3rds of all the delegates in the remaining primaries. That’s not going to happen. Ted Cruz is still a means to an end. Once Trump is removed, Cruz will be butchered, but as we wrote long ago, there is nothing dumber than a Cruz supporter. Kasich? The Lehman Brothers director will never be the nominee, not with his zero win record and the same bleak future results.
Donald Trump is walking briskly on a hill occasionally sipping from a bubbling brook – that’s his easy path to victory. The Romney/Ryan/Rubio/Cruz/Kasich losers are climbing up a massive mountain which grows steeper with every step – that’s their hard reality that leads to defeat.
Tonight Donald Trump will be both Bruce Banner and his alter-ego The Hulk. Trump’s opponents? Puny losers.
Update: John Kasich supporter Ken Langone in a must see explosion against the political establishment, Big Media-Big Parties-Big Donors-Big Institutions, in the entire country:
Analysis of SuperTuesday is fairly easy. As we promised we’ll provide analysis but we’ll do it all very quickly in a few quick sentences with links. After that, we have two articles that should be read. One article written before SuperTuesday; the other article written after SuperTuesday.
First, Saint Bernard. Bernie Sanders had a psychological battle on his hands. Sanders had to be able to survive the likely big wins by Hillary2016. Done. Sanders got more than enough wins to keep his coddled cows in the pen. Hillary2016 has a problem because even if Obama is not able to get rid of Hillary and impose his secret candidate at the convention, Bernie Sanders supporters will have a tough, maybe impossible, leap to make if they are ever to go to Hillary Clinton. For many it is “Bernie or Bust”.
On the GOP side, the machinations are overt, not hidden by tapestries with killers behind them.
Quick notes on the GOP side:
Ted Cruz got clobbered last night. Cruz got some victories in his Alamo state of Texas and in Oklahoma and Alaska. But SuperTuesday was supposed to be Ted Cruz’s great day. Cruz was supposed to win South Carolina and SuperTuesday states because the majority of voters there are evangelicals. In South Carolina 74%, and in SuperTuesday southern states majorities in the 60 percent range were evangelicals, and still Cruz lost. The remaining contests do not feature evangelical majorities so Cruz is on a road to nowhere.
Ben Carson is out. No path either. Carson knows he is out. Carson will not attend tomorrow night’s debate on Fox News.
Rubio is, as CNBC noted, Baghdad Bob with delusions of victory in a landscape of rubble. Rubio is Baghdad Bob with a Don Rickles shtick. Rubio’s poll numbers fell as he embarked on his comedy tour after the last debate. Rubio’s entire game now is to face joblessness by becoming the lapdog and recipient of the Chamber of Commerce and big money donors for his future endeavors. That’s all Rubio is up to now – become the sweet pet of his masters and hope for their largesse to him. Rubio knows he is on a road to nowhere.
The repugnant Mitt Romney prepares his entry into the race with a speech tomorrow. Romney proved himself a contemptible loser in 2012 who called Obama “nice” as Obama’s campaign called Romney every name in the book including murderer. Romney failed to attack Obama but viciously attacks Trump. Now Romney wants to be the tough guy and literally is saying “We’re just mad as hell and won’t take it anymore.” Romney is on a road to nowhere but he wants to at least stay on the road.
It’s not just the GOP establishment that has to fear Trump. After SuperTuesday many of the smartest Democrats have finally joined us in saying that Trump is not to be laughed at. These slow learners are not as quick as we are. But they have finally stopped laughing. We believe if Trump is the nominee Trump becomes president.
We could quote extensively from the Buchanan article but we wrote that story long ago. Today we present two articles that track the future. The first article is from before SuperTuesday. It is a dispatch from the emergency room as the GOP establishment committed suicide:
These Republicans do not support the Gang of Eight bill. They do not support Obama’s trade deals. They do not want to spend huge amounts of blood and treasure again in the Middle East. And they most certainly do not want the economy to look like it did in the fall of 2008.
These voters have tried, through every means available, to make their opposition felt. They are the reason that Eric Cantor is no longer in the House. They are the reason that the Gang of Eight bill didn’t pass. They are the reason that John Boehner is no longer speaker. And they are the reason that Donald Trump and Ted Cruz have dominated the polls for months.
Many people have urged the Rubio donor network, think-tank fellows and media supporters to back off on their policy demands — to do more than simply acknowledge “the voters are right to be angry.” In fact, Gov. Chris Christie advocated for compromise during a speech at St. Anselm’s College earlier this year. People such as former Reagan speechwriter Peggy Noonan wrote recently that the GOP must be more sensitive to the concerns of working-class voters, whom she dubbed the “unprotected.” [snip]
They will not even discuss changing our trade policy. They make some noises about immigration enforcement, but this is not done in a spirit of compromise, but with the arrogance of those who know that no one really expects them to change their views if they win. For all the complaints about Trump’s policy generalities, Establishment GOP types have not even pretended to engage in a serious debate. Their offer is simple: You do as we say, or we will throw the election to Hillary.
Ironically, last summer these same people were obsessing about nailing Trump down with that debate pledge to support whomever the GOP nominated.
Haven’t we seen this over and over and over? Didn’t they do the same thing in 2008, when they shot down Mike Huckabee? Didn’t they do it in 2012, when they shot down Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum? Didn’t we see it last year, when they gave over $100 million to Jeb before the race had even begun?
It is this fanaticism — this complete unwillingness to change their policy or even to debate the possibility of serious change — that has put us in the position we are today.
This is the reason old Reaganites like Pat Buchanan and Phyllis Schlafly understand and are looking kindly on Trump’s campaign, because they know you must utterly rout the Establishment in order to change policy.
This is the reason people like Senator Jeff Sessions and Sarah Palin are supporting Trump — because they understand that compromise is impossible with an entrenched oligarchy. [snip]
As a committed conservative for more than three decades, I am not happy about the potential break-up of the GOP. I have supported the Republican Party for almost 40 years, and I fully intended to support it for the rest of my life. [snip]
But I do not see how things can go on as they are now. I do not see how you can ask the working-class people of this country to support a collection of policies that have failed them over and over and over. [snip]
Even today, with the fate of the party at stake, their only argument is to attack Trump and his supporters, to call them stupid, and racist, nativist, and isolationist and every other epithet they can lift from the editorial pages of the New York Times and the Washington Post.
In the end, they have left the opponents of the status quo no choice — they must either defeat Rubio, and radically change the power structure of the GOP, or they must watch Obama’s immigration policy, Obama’s trade policy, Bush’s foreign policy, and Bush’s economic policy, be implemented.
On Tuesday, we’ll know how the voters react to those alternatives.
That call for insurrection was written as an attack on Marco Rubio. But little Marco Rubio is undeserving of attention and the point is a bigger one. The GOP establishment must be overthrown as the first step to the overthrow of the entire political establishment that has repeatedly betrayed the country to feather their own nests. On SuperTuesday, the first step was taken. Ed Rollins declares, after SuperTuesday, that Trump is the nominee of the Republican Party:
Trump is now unstoppable. It’s game over for Cruz, Rubio, Kasich and Carson
Game over! This was a rout, America. Winning seven states and the vast majority of delegates is a landslide. Donald Trump and the millions of his supporters have changed American politics and the Republican Party for the foreseeable future.
The nomination is within his grasp and if he does what he said he would do Tuesday night: “[I will] be a unifier!” he may be a very viable candidate against Hillary Clinton in the fall.
After his victories Tuesday night in multiple states and his second place finish in others, Trump is in an unstoppable position. Whether the junior senators from Texas and Florida choose to pursue him, it doesn’t matter, the end is near.
Trump, who is an unconventional candidate, to say the least, has tapped into the anger and frustration across America and has mobilized voters to turn out in record numbers.
Love him or hate him, be inspired by him or be appalled by him, Trump has totally dominated a political cycle like no other politician I’ve seen in decades.
I admit I was a total skeptic, like many others. [snip]
Trump is getting stronger by the day and his supporters are locked in and not going away. And no one has mastered the media like this since Teddy Roosevelt and his rough riders.
What’s ahead is a Republican Party that either becomes part of his movement or splinters into many pieces. No matter what Trump does or says, the nomination is his for the taking.
Trump will win the Republican Party nomination and then the big donor class and political functionaries/wannabees will either collaborate with the new order in charge of the entire Republican Party apparatus or they will try a rump reactionary revanchist counter-revolutionary ploy. We bet that once Trump performs his hostile takeover of the GOP most will acquiesce and Trump will be able to consolidate his victory and bury the Romney remnant.
In South Carolina the political establishment saw the beginning of the end. On SuperTuesday we all witnessed the beginning of the end. Soon the future arrives. The future is with Trump.
It’s leap of faith day. Look out your political window anywhere in the United States today and you can see the massive cloud formations approach. Tomorrow, you will hear the crackle of lightning rending the heavens and the boom of thunder. SuperTuesday eve is here.
What’s going to happen? Hillary Clinton will score super big victories and Bernie Sanders will book at least one victory in his home state. Bernie Sanders never had a chance and we don’t believe Hillary will be the nominee either, not while Barack Obama has an alternative plan. Of course, if Sanders would quit tomorrow that would put the Obama plans in jeopardy. But Sanders will stay in the race, until the convention, when Barack Obama will take control.
As to the GOP, we can only quote that summer season musical band, The Beach Boys: “Fun, Fun, Fun.” It’s still Summer of Trump.
Before the storm breaks and it is back to the beach time on the political trail we must look at the astonishing news from today and the past weekend. Remember that Donald Trump “ceiling”, remember those “conservative” attacks against Trump, remember the “you can’t insult your way to the White House” critique?
Ted Cruz, and even Marco Rubio needed, had to win, South Carolina. The GOP establishment, the political establishment had to see Trump lose in South Carolina. Instead Trump won South Carolina then Nevada. After Nevada where Trump broke the 40% ceiling, the GOP establishment realized it had to go to war against Trump.
The New York Times also published an article this weekend which indicates Mitt Romney will try to enter the race in California or somewhere along with other half-baked plots:
Inside the Republican Party’s Desperate Mission to Stop Donald Trump [snip]
In public, there were calls for the party to unite behind a single candidate. In dozens of interviews, elected officials, political strategists and donors described a frantic, last-ditch campaign to block Mr. Trump — and the agonizing reasons that many of them have become convinced it will fail. Behind the scenes, a desperate mission to save the party sputtered and stalled at every turn. [snip]
At least two campaigns have drafted plans to overtake Mr. Trump in a brokered convention, and the Senate majority leader, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, has laid out a plan that would have lawmakers break with Mr. Trump explicitly in a general election.
Despite all the forces arrayed against Mr. Trump, the interviews show, the party has been gripped by a nearly incapacitating leadership vacuum and a paralytic sense of indecision and despair, as he has won smashing victories in South Carolina and Nevada. [snip]
Late last fall, the strategists Alex Castellanos and Gail Gitcho, both presidential campaign veterans, reached out to dozens of the party’s leading donors, including the casino magnate Sheldon Adelson and the hedge-fund manager Paul Singer, with a plan to create a “super PAC” that would take down Mr. Trump. In a confidential memo, the strategists laid out the mission of a group they called “ProtectUS.” [snip]
Two of Mr. Trump’s opponents have openly acknowledged that they may have to wrest the Republican nomination from him in a deadlocked convention. [snip]
“There’s this desire, verging on panic, to consolidate the field,” said Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, a former supporter of Mr. Bush. “But I don’t see any movement at all.” [snip]
Mr. Romney had been eager to tilt the race, and even called Mr. Christie after he ended his campaign to vent about Mr. Trump and say he must be stopped. On the night of the primary, Mr. Romney was close to endorsing Mr. Rubio himself, people familiar with his deliberations said.
Yet Mr. Romney pulled back, instead telling advisers that he would take on Mr. Trump directly. [snip]
Mr. Romney is expected to withhold his support before the voting this week on the so-called Super Tuesday, but some of his allies have urged him to endorse Mr. Rubio before Michigan and Idaho vote March 8. Mr. Romney grew up in Michigan, and many Idahoans are fellow Mormons.
At the debate many Stop Trump loons believed Donald J. Trump had been mortally wounded. The personal and business history attacks against Trump, the Stop Trumpers believed, hurt Trump and had to be continued. To that end, Marco Rubio began a comedy tour with spicy attacks of a personal and business nature against Trump. Big Media howled with laughter and many said Trump could not survive the ridicule. Ted Cruz disappeared and that undermined the strategy to Stop Trump, but the stupid Stop Trumpers could not help but laugh and enjoy themselves as they tried to insult their way to the White House.
For Ted Cruz the news has been dire as his campaign implodes and he increasingly disappears all the while pinning all his hopes on a home state win. Meanwhile, Cruz supporters are turning to Trump:
Ted Cruz’s man in the U.S. territories has decided to support Donald Trump, he told POLITICO on Sunday.
Dennis Lennox, a Michigan-based GOP operative who spent several weeks organizing the U.S. territories for Cruz, including Guam, American Samoa and the Northern Mariana Islands, said he is supporting Trump because he sees him as more electable.
“I respect Sen. Cruz immensely, I just believe at this point, Mr. Trump is better-positioned, because of his stance on trade, to put Democrats on the defensive in states like Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, and ensure that Republicans win again,” he said.
Those remarks come as Cruz and the rest of the GOP field grapple with a front-runner who appears to be putting potentially insurmountable distance between himself and his rivals. Earlier Sunday, Trump notched the support of Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions, whom Cruz had counted as an ally.
Today, little Marco Rubio, said he was off his comedy tour because the issues facing the country are too serious. Seriously, little Marco? Why is Rubio off the comedy tour? What news has slammed Rubio off his high heels? A poll.
On the Republican side, the new survey finds Trump’s lead is dominant, and his support tops that of his four remaining opponents combined. The businessman tops his nearest competitor by more than 30 points: 49% back Trump, 16% Marco Rubio, 15% Ted Cruz, 10% Ben Carson and 6% John Kasich.
Trump’s supporters are incredibly enthusiastic about the coming election, and largely committed in their support for him. Nearly 8 in 10 say that they are more enthusiastic about voting this year than in previous elections, among Republicans who are not supporting Trump, just 39% say they are more enthusiastic than in years past. Likewise, 78% of Trump’s backers say they will definitely support him vs. 22% who say they could still change their minds. Among those backing other candidates, 57% say they are committed to their chosen candidate.
Hillary could lose to Trump in Democratic New York
The poll results, from Democratic and Republican legislative races, have surprised many leading Dems, virtually all of whom have endorsed Clinton, while confounding and energizing GOP leaders, many of whom until recently have been opposed to Trump.
“There are some Democrats who think that Hillary can be taken if Trump mounts a strong campaign,’’ one of the state’s most prominent Democrats said.
Most of the polling didn’t address the possibility that former Mayor Michael Bloomberg would run as an independent, but some of it did — and found the former mayor took “significant’’ votes away from Clinton in heavily Democratic New York City and the surrounding suburbs, a source familiar with the data said.
The new polls, a second source said, showed Trump’s support, even without Bloomberg in the race, was “surprisingly strong’’ in Westchester and on Long Island, the key suburbs often viewed as crucial swing bellwethers on how statewide elections will turn out.
Can Trump win New York? That’s a question for another day but it certainly undermines the “Stop Trump” losers. What matters now is SuperTuesday. So what is going to happen on SuperTuesday? Ronald Brownstein who has derided Trump from the moment he announced, has an idea:
Trump Is Winning a Two-Front War
His strength in states that represent different elements of the GOP coalition shows his uniqueness as a candidate—and the challenge he presents for his rivals. [snip]
On one side, Trump could deal a crushing blow to Cruz, the Texas senator, across a series of Southern and Border States, from Alabama and Arkansas to Tennessee and Oklahoma, that are dominated by evangelical and blue-collar voters.
On the other front, polls show Trump leading in mostly white-collar, far less evangelical states including Vermont, Massachusetts, and Virginia that should be crucial building blocks for Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Ohio Governor John Kasich, the candidates relying most on mainstream conservative voters.
Trump’s strength in states that represent such divergent poles of the GOP coalition testifies to his unique assets as a candidate—and the challenge he presents for his rivals. If Trump can beat Cruz next week in heavily blue-collar and evangelical states on one side, and top Kasich and Rubio in white collar, less culturally conservative states on the other, it will grow increasingly daunting for any candidate to coalesce a coalition large enough to stop the front-runner. That prospect may help explain the urgency with which Rubio and Cruz assailed Trump at Thursday night’s debate.
“In Trump you’ve got a candidate who appears to be able to take on Cruz among Cruz’ strength voters, who are evangelicals and also to take on Kasich and Marco among more mainstream voters,” says Neil Newhouse, the chief pollster in 2012 for Mitt Romney. “That is going to make him tough to beat.”
John Brabender, the chief strategist for Rick Santorum’s campaign in 2012, adds:
“It speaks to the complexity of Donald Trump. I saw a poll out today, which had him leading in Texas, one leading in Florida, and one leading in Massachusetts. There’s an absurdity in that. You should not have a presidential candidate leading in all three of those states because the voting universes are so different.”
It’s leap of faith day. On the storm-cloud-on-the-horizon-filled last day of February, it’s still Summer of Trump. On March 1, surf’s up.
Our pre-debate article once again was right on target. The GOP debate was all about tactics. Ted Cruz, the man who sells himself as the big conservative dog, tactically allied himself with illegal immigration amnesty shill and toy poodle Marco Rubio, to bark at Donald Trump. [Check out this picture.] As we suspected in our pre-debate article, the GOP debate was a big misfire for Ted Cruz.
The take down Trump tactics we had earlier predicted came in one by one. The audience was stacked with a Bush boo crowd. Mitt Romney’s coordinated attack with Rubio came in just as predicted and Rubio answered exactly as we said he would by declaring he would release his taxes almost immediately. Also as easily predictable, Trump counterattacked. As predicted, desperate Cruz and Rubio played little boy “king of the hill” games. But as we wondered before the debate, could any of these tactical decisions help this late in the game, or even backfire? Let’s look at the tactics and see how they worked post debate as we predicted pre-debate.
* * * * * *
In order to take down Trump, debate performances against Trump have to be followed with electoral success results by the opposition candidates. But Donald J. Trump is poised for victory in many states on Super Tuesday, with the sole exception being Texas. Does anyone think Donald Trump will lose anything other than maybe Texas, even after the Texas debate? Well, during the debate the Stop Trump idiots went full idiot. Here’s an example from someone who usually knows better but went full stupid as the dogs yapped and chased the train:
What Mario just did to the Donald is illegal in 28 states. I have to give it to the Robot: When Robots go berserk, they can do a tremendous amount of damage, and Rubio the Robot just went into Terminator mode.
He had people laughing at Trump. [snip]
Of course, it’s pretty obvious now that Cruz and Rubio agreed beforehand to double-team Trump. [snip]
The Champ had a glass jaw all along. The key, it turns out, was that you just couldn’t have one guy punching at it. [snip]
Further Thoughts: Oh boy trump is doing terribly, and I didn’t want to see him do terribly. I kinda like Trump, in a weird way.
But he is getting destroyed, and he just wasn’t prepared for it. (Being unprepared is kind of His Thing.)
This is a gamechanger.
The whole race is now reset.
That type of “analysis” is what comes from not thinking of what is going to happen beforehand, lack simple campaign mechanical knowledge, be unaware there are targeted goals, ignore whether the targeted goals have been achieved, or liquor. After the nonsense above which we have mercifully edited to not include even more embarrassing “analysis” Emily/Ace of Spades sobered up and said “never mind”:
Update: Drew convinced me in the podcast I was way overstating things with the claims that the “race is reset.” Eh, at the moment, it seemed like a big deal.
I still think it’s a big deal, but Trump’s leads in 10 of the 11 Super Tuesday states it’s hard to imagine him losing anywhere.
My dream scenario is this: Trump finally starts going after Rubio, on immigration and amnesty, badly hurts Rubio (as Cruz was badly hurt the last couple of weeks), but Trump himself is also hurt by this performance, and My Man Ted sneaks up in the polls.
The stupidity of the “dream scenario” and the tactical decisions finally made by Cruz and Rubio are demonstrated with great clarity by simply looking at the calendar. Yes, try looking at the calendar before you write stupid stuff or dream dreams of conquest.
The political calendar shows that the biggest opportunity to Stop Trump, a very small opportunity which adds up to zero, is for Ted Cruz to at least win in Texas on SuperTuesday and prevent Donald Trump from a complete and total sweep of the SuperTuesday states (which we remind you once were the Cruz supposed path to victory). In order to Stop Trump, Ted Cruz needs to win with more than 50% of the vote and make Texas a winner take all result then have Rubio beat a staggering Trump in Florida two weeks later.
At a minimum Cruz needs to win Texas, preferably in a blow out win of more than ten points. Less than a 50% victory and Trump gets to share in the big Texas delegate distribution and continue to pile more chips into his win bag. To make this very very clear to the drunk or the plain idiotic to even have a chance to Stop Trump, the results of the Texas debate had to be a bolstering of Cruz so that he could win a ten point or more victory in Texas on SuperTuesday. Yeah, to have a chance to Stop Trump, it was necessary for Ted Cruz to emerge as the victor of the Texas debate. Instead, the Stop Trump hero of the day is Marco Rubio. Rubio is once again the “surge” candidate against Trump that will once again go nowhere.
Marco Rubio does not have a chance of winning any election until March 15, at best. Rubio cannot afford a Trump win in Texas and complete sweep of SuperTuesday elections. A bolstered SuperTuesday SuperStrongTrump means the race is over and Rubio cannot win Florida or anywhere. The latest polls have Rubio well behind Trump in Florida as they have for months (Trump 44% to Rubio 25%; head to head Trump 52% – Rubio 38%). So the notion that Rubio is the big winner from the Texas debate for the Stop Trump goofballs, makes a mockery of them. Think of it this way: America needs a big victory against ISIS and therefore attacks Guatemala – Guatemala is quickly overrun and America gets a big victory – but has ISIS been hurt at all? No.
By the end of the debate in Texas, Ted Cruz had almost disappeared. It was a yapping Rubio that got the headlines. How does this Stop Trump?
Hey, Stop Trump fellas, you do realize that last night was a big win for Trump right?
Last night Donald J. Trump continued to soar towards his targets, bomb bays full, ready to annihilate. What did the other candidates accomplish?
While Donald J. Trump continued to soar towards his targets on SuperTuesday and the general election, the other candidates moved the deck chairs on the poop deck. Trump took the bag of casino chips while the other candidates reshuffled the deck of cards.
Consider, we do think Kasich did well last night. Kasich did not sound like a total loon as he karate chops his way through debates. Illegal immigration amnesty shill Marco Rubio maybe got Kasich some votes but not enough to win anywhere. Some cards might have been reshuffled to Kasich, maybe some to Rubio, but TRUMP HOLDS THE TRUMP CARD. After the debate, John Kasich on CNN declared that he thought Trump would win all the SuperTuesday elections.
Megyn Kelly and most of Big Media swooned over Ruby-o’s performance. What passes for the conservative movement sang songs of love for Cruz. The problem for the Stop Trump people is that Trump lost zero support. If anything, Trump solidified his support, as firewalls continued to burn:
The “southern firewall” Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign has been building for months appears to be crumbling under the weight of Donald Trump’s staying power and Marco Rubio’s resurgence.
The Cruz campaign told Yellowhammer Wednesday night they are pulling out of the Presidential Forum set to be held at Samford University in Birmingham on Saturday, and will not be holding any other events in Alabama ahead of election day. Senator Marco Rubio’s campaign, however, reiterated their commitment to the event.
The move is one of the most open indicators to date that Cruz has failed to pick up steam in the Bible Belt South, once believed to be his geographic stronghold and his most likely path to the nomination.
It was a magnificent show. And Trump was without doubt the star of the show. Like a young lion king Trump romped while his Rubio jester joked, and envious courtier Cruz jealously plotted and denounced the heavens for making him a humpback, not the one with the crown.
What did we see last night? We saw two yapping dogs barking at the Trump plane as it soared overhead, bomb bays full, ready to silence the yapping dogs.
