Hillary’s Assassin(s)

“An LSU student from Shreveport is jailed in Baton Rouge on charges he told a fellow student he planned to try to assassinate U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton when she visited Baton Rouge on a presidential campaign stop.  Richard Ryan Wargo, 19, of the 10000 block of Evangeline Oaks Circle, is jailed under $1 million bond.”

This one alleged physical assassin is now in custody awaiting justice.

An army of political assassins remains at large.

Let’s understand something about the political assassins targeting Senator Clinton; the vast majority of the attacks on Senator Clinton have nothing actually to do with her.   The attacks come from self-promoters using Hillary to advance themselves and their careers as well as their finances.

When we last focused on these political assassins we dealt primarily with what we call the “nutroots“.   The “nutroots” are fake “progressives” who delight in promoting their special interests all the while posing as spokesmen (they are overwhelmingly males) for progressives or liberals even as they attack true progressives and liberals who happen to disagree with their self-interested and self-promoting perspective.

A few days ago Senator Hillary Clinton posted an article on a blog of prominent women writers called FireDogLake. Senator Clinton discussed the issue of equal pay for women in her article entitled Equal Pay, Equal Respect.  Aside from the usual silly attacks from the “nutroots” the posting by Senator Clinton raised the question as to why she posted at that particular blog and not at the biggest so-called “progressive” blog:

“But Clinton has never posted a diary at Daily Kos, which only begs the question: Why would she proactively avoid recreating the success of other recent candidates? And the most likely the answer is, because Markos Moulitsas, founder of Daily Kos — aka “Kos” — hates her. The top result of a google search of “Markos Moulitsas” AND “Hillary Clinton” turns up a Op/Ed Kos wrote in the Washington Post in May, 2006 titled “Too much of a Clinton Democrat?” In it, he is not too fond of either Clinton:

Hillary Clinton leads her Democratic rivals in the polls and in fundraising. Unfortunately, however, the New York senator is part of a failed Democratic Party establishment — led by her husband — that enabled the George W. Bush presidency and the Republican majorities, and all the havoc they have wreaked at home and abroad.”

Do you get that? According to the biggest “progressive” blog kingpin, Bill Clinton is a failed Democratic President and is additionally to blame for George W. Bush. Why do Republicans need Fox News when we have these “progressive” crackpots?

We wrote in our initial post that “We will have lots to say especially with regards to the media and blog coverage of the campaign. We will keep an especially sharp eye on “progressives” or Democrats who repeat Republican propaganda to undermine Hillary or any of our candidates.”

We know we have to keep a sharp eye on these “nutroots” crackpots. We also have to monitor and then do more than merely monitor big media crackpots.

For instance Chris Matthews, whose show when it comes to Democrats in general and Hillary in particular should be renamed “Mudball”.

For instance Arriana Huffington – the political bedhopper formerly associated with Newt Gingrich and his particularly venomous brand of Republicans.

Arriana Huffington of course was a big Republican shill attacking Hillary when Bill Clinton was in the White House. Huffington has not changed her stripes. She is still attacking Democrats and Hillary in particular.

Matthews salivates every time he mentions Hillary.  Matthews was the Republican debate circus master the other night.  Matthews could not resist goading the Republican candidates to bash President Clinton.  Matthews asked whether having Bill Clinton back in the White House was a good idea.  We know having Matthews considered a serious political commentator is a bad idea.

These assassins have to be exposed and stopped.

Hillary Clinton Wins Republican Debate

After the first Democratic debate Republican Pat Buchanan said that Hillary would be very effective against all the Republican nominees. Many commentators agreed that Hillary in a debate against the Republicans would eat them alive. Well, get Hillary a bib and butter because the Republican candidates, if their debate is any indication, are cooked.

At the risk of insulting the nation’s grocers and train conductors, the Republican candidates at the debate looked like a bunch of grocers or train conductors. Did we mention what a snoozefest they were?

The backwoods nature of this bunch was encapsulated when they were asked if they believe in evolution. Most of these sad candidates disputed evolution even though faith institutions such as the Vatican accept it.

If we had to pick a winner from the bunch it would be Rudy Giuliani, because not one candidate took him to task for his liberal views. We do not think Giuliani will be the eventual Republican nominee. Quite simply the social conservatives and right-wing forces that fought for decades to gain control of the Republican Party will not surrender that control to any New York liberal.

The real winner however was Hillary Clinton.

Chris Matthews, ever true to his leg rubbing Clinton fetish, asked the Republicans if having Bill Clinton back in the White House was a good idea.

The question was preposterous but it also did bring up the obvious. Hillary Clinton is what the Republicans fear. Hillary Clinton is the Democrat they know they will face in November 2008. Hillary Clinton is the one who will defeat them. Hillary Clinton was the night’s big winner.

Hillary Triumphs

Last night, doing commentary on the debate for MSNBC, Chris Matthews looked as if he was sitting on something very sharp and uncomfortable.

Arriana Huffington, doing her Gabor sisters impressions on Larry King, looked like she had indigestion.

The Nutroots and Big Media were in meltdown.

The cause for all this discomfort and upset was the very evident and indisputable triumph of Hillary in the first Democratic debate of the 2008 election cycle.

The New York Post assembled a group of voters to analyze the debate. They declared Hillary “presidential” and Obama “timid”. Here are some excerpts of what else they had to say:

“She knows the issues, she looked presidential, and she held her own,” Jackie Rowe-Adams, a vice president with District Council 37, Local 299, said of Clinton. “And she kept a smile, if you noticed.”

Obama, meanwhile, was “really timid . . . like he was searching [for answers],” she said.

“[Obama] had the highest expectations coming into this,” she said, “so I was expecting to hear this great speaker.”

Roseann Darche, 62, a city government worker from Queens, described Obama as “the opposite of charismatic.”
“He was on message,” she noted, “and he wasn’t spontaneous.”

Some eyes rolled during some of Obama’s answers, particularly when he discussed the recent Supreme Court ruling upholding the ban on partial-birth abortions, and called the decision one best left between a woman “and her clergy.”

The Guardian boomed: “Hillary Clinton emerged as the clear winner from the first debate between the Democratic candidates in the 2008 presidential race – ahead of her main rival Barack Obama – according to those present in the audience.”

Obama stumbled repeatedly said Politico, especially on Israel and terrorism. Rolling Stone labeled Obama a big loser: “He filibustered his way through this debate. He’s set the bar high for himself as a fresh voice for change. And he disappointed by coming off as the most programmed member of the field, answering the questions he’d prepared for, not the ones he was asked: How would he pay for his health care plan, to cite just one example. He was playing not to lose.”

Newsday praised Hillary and scorched Obama: “Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton delivered a cool, confident performance Thursday night in the first primary debate of the 2008 presidential season, while her fast-gaining opponent, Sen. Barack Obama, seemed to sweat a bit in the national spotlight.”

On television, particularly MSNBC, which started its debate coverage at 9:00 in the morning the Hillary Triumph was even more evident.

Bob Shrum declared Hillary “Superb”, and said the debate helped her considerably and that now Obama must do “something” to regain momentum. Shrum added that Hillary was “natural, at ease, she did an effective job”.

Joe Scarborough and Chris Matthews said Hillary was “solid”. Chris Matthews added to his reputation for flacid analysis by talking up Hillary’s pearl necklace which he deemed “very Grace Kelly, demure”. Scarborough added that “Hillary Clinton did exceedingly well.” About Hillary he said “there was so much there, there”.

Keith Olberman stated the obvious when he said that Obama, responding to a question about his “dicey doners” did not answer well.

Howard Fineman who usually delights in mocking Hillary was forced to concede that “Hillary did superbly well” that “Obama was off his game”, “she was in command”.

Craig Crawford of National Journal said that “Hillary exceeded, Obama fumbled”, “Hillary was presidential” and that “Obama could not even handle Kucinich”.

But it was erstwhile Republican Patrick Buchanan who summarized the debate the best. Here are excerpts of what he said: “Hillary was at the top of her game, Obama was disappointing” and “Hillary really won it, Obama went into his old formula of anecdotes.” “My question is: Is there any there there? Is this just a suit?” He said Obama was “gauzy and abstract”, “almost in Dukakis league” that Hillary is a “strong front runner”. Buchanan also issued a warning to his fellow Republicans. He said that “her performance tells me that if next fall she is standing next to Rudy, McCain or Romney — she will win, she was superior to all candidates tonight. He rated her “A or A+” and that Hillary “sounded responsible, she sounded centrist and appealing to independents.”

The Media and Nutroots Attack On Hillary Clinton

The National Journal is the premier source of information for politicians and political operatives and the retrograde mass media; to access their daily Hotline publication costs several thousand dollars a year. The Nutroots, are a self-appointed, self-interested, small group of typists who utilize their self-built perches to inflict their delusions on Democrats and true progressives; they like to refer to themselves as the “netroots”, a play on words from the honorable “grassroots”. Both have joined forces to debase the likely Democratic Party nominee: Hillary Clinton.

Bogus Focus: NYTimes Is Wrong – Hillary Clinton Is Not Losing the African-American Vote to Obama

According to a trumped up story in today’s New York Times:

“Only a few months ago, the vast majority of black elected officials in New York were expected to support the presidential candidacy of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. But no longer. In a series of interviews, a significant number of those officials now say they are undecided about whether to back Mrs. Clinton or one of her main rivals for the Democratic nomination, Senator Barack Obama of Illinois, the only black politician in the race.”

Is this true? Can it be so? Is Bill Clinton trembling in tears in his Harlem office? The answer is NO.

Hip-Hop Hypocrisy Hypocrite

We have warned that lazy journalists and self-interested “progressives” are the great danger to Democrats in winning the White House in 2008, not discredited right wing propagandists. We are reminded of that warning after reading Saturday’s Colbert King piece in the Washington Post. King is an Op-Ed columnist for the Washington Post, the formerly great, formerly liberal, newspaper. Colbert King is an African-American and alleged “progressive”. Colbert King is also a lazy researcher at best or he is dishonest and attempting to mislead his readers at worst.

This is what CK wrote:

“Put me in the camp of those who implore Sen. Hillary Clinton to give it back — “it” being the reported $800,000 that’s sitting in her presidential campaign coffers thanks to a fundraiser hosted in her honor March 31 in the Pinecrest, Fla., home of a huge Clinton fan who refers to himself as Timbaland.”

“You would not be reading about Clinton or about Timbaland — who entered this vale of tears 36 years ago in Norfolk under the name Timothy Mosley — were it not for the fact that he is a well-heeled hip-hop producer and noted performer of the kind of misogynistic and denigrating lyrics that informed Don Imus’s derogatory comments about the Rutgers women’s basketball team.

Mrs. Clinton, you may recall, took umbrage at Imus’s remarks, branding them “small-minded bigotry and coarse sexism.” His words, she said in an e-mail to supporters, “showed a disregard for basic decency and were disrespectful and degrading to African Americans and women everywhere.”

Good for her, I say, except it must be asked why she was down in Florida making nice to — and pocketing big bucks from — a rapper whose obscenity-laced lyrics praise violence, perpetuate racist stereotypes and demean black women.”

What King was too lazy about, or intentionally decided to mislead his readers about was an inconvenient fact that would distract from his energetic anti-Hillary rant. Here is what we quickly found about Hip Hop cash recipients after lazily googling for facts and finding them at the Chicago Sun Times:

“Obama also received donations from at least eight executives from Island Def Jam executives, whose artists include the rapper Ludacris, whose song lyrics have been criticized for promoting sex, drugs and violence. Ludacris, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, appeared with Obama at a rally in Atlanta last month. The rapper met with Obama in Chicago last November to talk about AIDS awareness.

I am mentioning this because, in the wake of the Don Imus controversy in which the shock jock smeared the Rutgers basketball team with racial and sexual slurs, Obama in South Carolina last Friday said at a rally, in response to a question, that some rappers are “degrading their sisters. That doesn’t inspire me.”

Colbert King did not write about the appropriateness of accepting cash from Hip Hop stars and producers. He might have a point that contributions from them should not be acceptable to presidential campaigns. But no, he decided to denounce Hillary for accepting Hip Hop cash before Imus made his controversial comments, while ignoring completely another candidate for doing exactly the same thing. It was not very Hip of King to Hop to conclusions about someone else’s alleged Hypocrisy without doing the research necessary; it is King who appears to be the Hypocrite.

Hillary Is 44!

Welcome to our website – Hillary is 44.

We started this website because we believe Senator Hillary Clinton will be an excellent 44th President of the United States. Senator Hillary Clinton will be the Democratic Party’s nominee for President because she is not only the best candidate running, but she is also the one candidate that will without doubt beat the Republicans and restore sanity to the White House.

For the next year, we will bring you news and commentary of the 2008 race for president. Our focus will be on Senator Clinton and the Democrats. Once Senator Clinton wins the nomination we will turn our focus to the Republican nominee.

Although we feel that Senator Clinton will be the nominee (we thought that way back in March 2006), the race, as always in a democracy, will be an exciting one. We will have lots to say especially with regards to the media and blog coverage of the campaign. We will keep an especially sharp eye on “progressives” or Democrats who repeat Republican propaganda to undermine Hillary or any of our candidates.

At the left hand side of our website we have posted permanent commentary pages on certain issues such as Iraq which we will continue to update.

Feel free to comment on our posts and to send us any tips, which we will keep confidential.
