40 Year Plan: Trump’s Terrific Tax Triumph

To fully grasp the meaning of President Trump’s Terrific Tax Triumph read The Vastness Of The Trump Revolution Is Immeasurable, written a few days after the election of President Donald J. Trump in 2016. In that article we discussed Barack Obama’s 40 year plan that failed:

The delusion was this: Barack Obama and the coalition of the ascendant would win in 2008 and soon there would be an economic revival such that Democrats would get all the credit. This would lead to 40 years of voters rewarding the Democratic Party with victory just as voters rewarded Democrats for 40 years after FDR – until it all came crashing down with the Republican takeover of the House of Representatives in 1994.

Of course, Barack Obama bungled the supposed economic recovery. In 2008 Obama inflicted his flim-flam stimulus and the deadly ObamaCare plans on the nation. Both such disasters that by the time they passed the nation revolted and rewarded Republicans.

The failed Obama economy of the first term did not sober up the Dimocrats. This time they were doubly sure of the 40 year plan. The thinking was “well, it didn’t work in 2008 but boy oh boy it will work in 2012 for sure by golly”. Again the notion was that in 2012 Barack Obama would win reelection and that would lead to a massive economic recovery and once again the Democrats would get the credit, as they got the credit for FDR, and that economic revival would lead to 40 years of voter rewards and endless power for Obama Dimocrats.

Now the 40 year plan works in favor of President-elect Donald J. Trump. If, as we suspect, President Donald J. Trump leads the nation to a great economic boom and lives up to “Make America Great Again” it will be President Donald J. Trump and the Republicans who will be rewarded for generations by the voters.

So tepid and limp-wristed was the Obama economy that Americans felt under siege even as Obama and his dimwitted acolytes praised his policies for the “recovery”. The Obama years felt to Americans as recession years or depression years. The Obama 40 year plan hit the brick wall of economic failure at home, trillions of taxpayer dollars wasted, managed decline at home and abroad for this once great nation.

President Donald J. Trump has changed all that. Barack Obama was the flaccid child of weakness and logorrhea. President Donald J. Trump is a Churchill style leader who ends America’s darkest hours.

Go to a brick and mortar store this Christmas season (Merry Christmas!!! Happy Chanukah!!!) and see the crowds gleefully shopping!!!! Americans see America in glory and are full of real HOPE and real honest CHANGE:

American optimism on the economy is reaching new heights and President Donald Trump’s approval ratings look to be benefiting, at least somewhat.

The CNBC All-American Economic Survey found that for the first time in at least 11 years, more than half of respondents to the survey rated the economy as good or excellent, while a near record 41 percent expected the economy to improve in the next year.

We’re not measuring a marginal change in the economy, we’re measuring a different economy,” said Public Opinion Strategies’ Micah Roberts, the Republican pollster for the survey. [snip]

The survey found that 42 percent of Americans expect their wages to rise in the next year, and 41 percent of homeowners see their home values going up, the highest level recorded since 2007. In 2011, while the country remained in an economic funk from the financial crisis, just 15 percent of homeowners thought their home prices would rise.

“2017 is the year that Americans finally put the recession behind them in terms of their attitudes about the economy, and it took a change in leadership” to make it happen, said Roberts.

That’s real HOPE and real CHANGE even as Big Media deceptively describes an America filled with the same fear Big Media feels as President Trump continues his relentless rally to Make America Great Again.

Those leftist and/or deluded Americans that hate President Trump and make their views known continue to resist. But even these haters are shopping because even the “resistance” can’t resist shopping, can’t resist feeling the economic improvement, can’t resist real HOPE and CHANGE.

The Obama Dimocrats 40 year plan is quickly becoming a Trump America 40 year plan. It is President Trump who brings economic recovery that can be felt in the streets, Wall Street and Main Street. It is President Trump who brings the economic recovery that can be felt at every kitchen table. It is President Trump and the Trump Republicans who will reap the political benefits in much the same way as the FDR recovery (fueled mostly by war spending) led to 40 years of Democratic Party rule.

Trump’s Terrific Tax Triumph is the exclamation point to the economic recovery already underway. President Trump unshackled the American economy by getting rid of the chains of regulation and ever more regulation. President Trump put America First in his dealings with foreign leaders which has led to more jobs coming to America. President Trump is a cheerleader for America.

President Trump is fully engaged in a comprehensive plan to Make America Great Again. As we previously wrote, the just passed Trump tax law will have a profound positive effect for the economy as well as hurt the totalitarian left that rules the blue states. Other publications have taken note recently of the SALT in the wound:

Republican tax bill would tie the hands of blue-state governments

As we wrote, the blue states will bleed green. The red states will turn golden. The blue states will have to take the jackboot off the necks of taxpayers or they will bleed to death.

The apocalyptic claims by Obama Dimocrats are real. There is real fear from the left of the Trump tax cuts. The fear from Obama Dimocrats and the totalitarian left is that the President Trump tax cuts will work.

Already, economic forecasts are on the upswing. This fourth quarter of the first year of President Trump might rise as much as 4 percent.

President Trump’s tax cuts will work and make President Trump even more popular no matter what Big Media polls declare.

Most importantly, the narrative from the left that President Trump could not govern has just been shattered. President Trump has achieved a great governing victory.

For President Trump Make America Great Again is not a slogan.

Make America Great Again is a policy.

AT&T is giving $1,000 bonuses to 200,000 employees after tax bill

AT&T is paying bonuses of $1,000 to more than 200,000 U.S. employees.
AT&T’s CEO said it was in response to tax reform.
The House of Representatives on Wednesday sent tax reform legislation to President Donald Trump, who is expected to sign it soon.

AT&T was quick to respond to news of U.S. tax reform, announcing it would give some employees bonuses once the law is official.

The telecom giant said in a press release on Wednesday that it would give more than 200,000 U.S. union members a special bonus of $1,000. The company also increased its capital expenditures budget by $1 billion in the U.S.

Trump triumphant: a consequential, lasting end to 2017

President Trump takes a beating in the media, but he’s ending 2017 on the high note of his presidency.

The big picture: You might not like his words or actions. But measured in terms of what Republican voters want and expected, he’s winning on important fronts:

The tax bill passed with almost unanimous Republican support, before the end of the year, and in keeping with mostly mainstream conservative orthodoxy. Trump won a bigger corporate tax break than either Bush ever got, and will sign the most consequential new tax law in 30 years. And he followed through on cutting taxes for most small businesses and most Americans. He did this without losing a single GOP senator — even his harshest critics.

He failed to repeal all of Obama’s health-care law. But Trump axed the individual mandate with the tax bill, and has chipped away at other parts of the law’s foundation. Again, you might hate the outcome. But it’s a significant step to blowing up a program most Republicans demanded be destroyed.

Axios health-care editor Sam Baker emails: “The smaller administrative steps Trump has taken — an executive order, cuts to enrollment outreach, ending a critical stream of funding for insurers — [are cumulatively] weakening the ACA’s insurance exchanges and prompting some insurers to question whether those markets are worth the trouble.”

Trump has tilted the court rightward in lasting ways. Justice Neil Gorsuch was a substantial, conservative addition to the Supreme Court. And it wasn’t a one-off: The dozen new U.S. Circuit Court judges he has named is the most during a president’s first year in office in more than a century.

Trump has followed through on eviscerating regulations, many of them imposed by Obama. He has revoked 67, and delayed or derailed more than 1,500 others.

No matter that much of it is not of his doing, the economy has grown consistently under his watch.

ISIS is in retreat. The N.Y. Times’ Ross Douthat calls it “A War Trump Won.”

Why it matters: The media often appraises presidencies and politics through liberal-tinted glasses. But the vast majority of the Republican Party like, even love, these policies. [snip]

Never underestimate the power of one party controlling all of government. Even with a slow start, constant distractions, ongoing investigations, the Trump GOP reengineered big chunks of our lives. Elections matter.

Fifth Third Bancorp unveils bonuses, minimum wage hike after tax bill passage

Fifth Third Bancorp in Cincinnati, Ohio, will pay more than 13,500 employees a bonus and raise the minimum wage for its workforce to $15 after the passage of the GOP tax plan that will cut the bank’s corporate tax rate.

It is the second company to announce a bonus for employees because of the tax plan. AT&T said earlier on Wednesday it would pay 200,000 U.S. employees $1,000 each and increase its capital spending budget by $1 billion.

Fifth Third said the tax cut allowed it to reevaluate its employee pay and pass along some of the windfall. Nearly 3,000 workers will see hourly wages rise to $15. The $1,000 one-time bonus is expected to be paid by the end of this year, the bank said, assuming President Trump signs it by Christmas.

  4. Finally got it done!!!! This and Gorsuch were worth the election. Hopefully this will defund obamacare as we know it . Next up immigration, N. Korea , and Iran.

  5. The tax code in this country is why American Business sucks and American Businessmen are weak wimps and whiners who sell out their country to foreign sweatshops.

    YUGE Trump win.

  6. Each generation though seems to make the same mistake of forgetting history and trusting the Democrats. This partly due to the near total control of schools by the Left who teach Big Lies to gullible students.

  7. Admin:

Your track record has been uncanny. You have called the game accurately for the past nine years. I can think of no other website, pundit, pollster, academic, or presumed seer who can match your track record. And that is because there isn’t one. Most of them are either dead wrong, or they qualify their predictions so much that the end result is mush. You on the other hand do not hedge your bet. Instead you make you predictions boldly with an understanding of the zeitgeist, and the details of the political process. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

  8. Spill the beans! 😀

  9. Judge William Alsup

    Harvard Law School (J.D.)
    Harvard University (M.P.P.)

This left wing San Francisco Judge just got his ass handed to him for skipping steps and failing to consider valid arguments. He just gave Trump critics a free pass and supported Trump haters who want to deprive the president of the power to cancel daca which is well within his approval. Naturally, the fucked up 9th Circuit supported him, so they got their ass handed to them as well, thereby preserving their unblemished record as the most reversed appellate court in the nation and in history. As you can see, is the fine product of a Harvard education, and is his only his defense. Big media has not reported the fact that he has been rebuked, but presents this a case he will decide, without mentioning that this is the second time around.

  10. There are more Harvard graduates in the judiciary than any other school.

Are they smarter than anyone else.

Or is this not a paradigmatic example of the dark forces of nepotism?

  11. first off Thanks Admin for posting the whole victory event…I missed it yesterday & only saw clips of it later

…over the years I have soften and grown to like Orin Hatch…and what he said was very touching…and sounded very heart felt…he has seen a lot & seems to really revere, respect and “love” PDT
…also enjoy and appreciate Kevin Brady & Tim Scott…they need to do more outreach messaging because they connect and are not condescending or threatening…

while I was driving in my car today I clicked on Rush L’s show…and today’s show was outstanding…didn’t get to hear the whole thing however Rush played multiple clips of PDT giving his inaugural speech and frankly it is astonishing how prescient he and his speech are…DT is always a few steps ahead & nails the issue…

PDT pointed out targets, observations & behavior of past admin & things going on in the world…and so much of what he says happened, or has come true or he is at the center of changing…

listening to that speech makes a lot of sense today…especially after what we have seen transpire this past year…

thank goodness we all pulled this off and elected PDT…I shudder to think of what would be going on today otherwise…

finally…the bottom line…the Dems & BM must be so afraid of the success PDT & the GOP are unleashing

what are the Dems & BM going to do if they are, as they have been, WRONG on all the hysterics they are spitting out…

…all one has to do is go back and reflect on what Paul Krugman was saying that the DT Presidency would bring…& how it would take down the stock market & destroy our economy…

Why would anyone listen to what now is the Dem party with any confidence…they revert back to the same old, same old emotional nonsense & the only difference is they are saying these things in more irrational, dramatic and hysterical ways… How can anyone take these people seriously?

  12. The Blacks, many Latinos, and snowflakes support the Democratic Party, it’s ridiculous S

And happy holidays to all and Merry Christmas

  13. The dims plan to impeach the president. They believe they can use the same strategy that they employed to bring down Nixon, even as more evidence emerges about their conspiracy with the FBI and Justice Department to exonerate Hillary and take down Trump with the dirty dossier they concocted and their Russia hysteria. Buchanan sees certain flaws in their strategy:

Is the Trump investigation the rotten fruit of a poisoned tree?

Is Mueller’s Dump Trump team investigating the wrong campaign?

There are other reasons to believe Trump may survive the deep state-media conspiracy to break his presidency, overturn his mandate, and reinstate a discredited establishment.

Trump has Fox News and fighting congressmen behind him and the mainstream media is deeply distrusted and widely detested. And there is no Democratic House to impeach him or Democratic Senate to convict him.

Moreover, Trump is not Nixon, who, like Charles I, accepted his fate and let the executioner’s sword fall with dignity.

If Trump goes, one imagines, he will not go quietly.

  14. Nikki Haley Threatens to Yank Funding from U.N. over Jerusalem Resolution: ‘This Vote Will Be Remembered’

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley tore into the U.N. General Assembly Thursday, threatening to pull U.S. funding from the international body in response to a resolution condemning President Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

“The United States will remember this day in which it was singled out for attack in the General Assembly for the very act of exercising our right as a sovereign nation,” Haley said in remarks to the assembly in New York.

“We will remember it when we are called upon to once again make the world’s largest contribution to the United Nations and we will remember it when so many countries come calling on us, as they so often do, to pay even more and to use our influence for their benefit,” she warned.

  15. Everybody died:

Wednesday dawned to the horrifying cacophony of howling dogs mourning their dead masters — men, women and children killed in a mass slaughter by the Senate’s passage of a rather ordinary tax bill from the Republicans. Yes, the Republicans had been warned that their plan would cause a symphony of darkness to play across the land. They’d been warned that the streets would be strewn with bodies. Worse, they’d been warned that those dead people would then move to Chicago and vote Democratic.

But even Republicans, who are also dead, were shocked to find themselves inhabiting the bowels of Hell — in particular, inhabiting a special place therein reserved for women who did not vote for Hillary Clinton and voters who did not stand with Roy Moore.

And all of this thanks to President Trump, who had pitched the tax cut by stating that he merely wanted what was best in life: to crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.

It is somewhat awkward writing this piece from the afterlife. It’s even more awkward writing this for a news site that exists on the internet — you remember, the internet, that thing that used to exist before Republicans repealed net neutrality, resulting in the annihilation of entire populations and the end of the internet itself.

And it’s supremely awkward to write it from underwater, given that President Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris Accords doomed huge cities to the realm of Aquaman.

What makes things even crazier is that everything is on fire despite being underwater, since Trump’s decision to move the American embassy to Jerusalem angered the Arab street so much.

By my count, I’ve died several dozen times since President Trump’s election, according to the warnings issued by media and Democrats. Yet I’ve never been able to rest in peace, because dead Republicans just keep on passing legislation that affects dead Americans and dead Democrats and dead media members keep resisting dead Donald Trump.

It turns out that the afterlife looks exactly like regular life.

Except, of course, that Justin Bieber hasn’t released any new songs in the Great Beyond. So that’s nice.

  16. World War Z will commence next, burning through cities and killing billions of people once Congress gets its act together next year before the elections and passes a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare.😱

  17. I happened to hear mark levin say the other day that he tried to listen to cnn the other morning &he couldn’t take more than @ 15 minutes

I am stuck somewhere for a couple of more hours & they have had cnn on since 9 am
All morning has been one criticism after another against PDT…they don’t stop…they keep repeating how unpopular he is & also the Republicans
    They even attacked Ivanka
From one show to the next…new people but the same criticism
It really is unbelievable. ..all negative opinion

Over & over repeating he is the most unpopular president

I do not understand how they aren’t embarrassed
All they do is repeat their own fake polls

  18. SCOTUS is starting to lose patience with these activities judges. Now if only Justice Kennedy and Ginsburg will retire so that Trump can appoint more judges to the Supreme Court.

“In recent weeks the U.S. Supreme Court has repeatedly chided lower courts that issued rulings unfavorable to the Trump administration, suggesting at least some of the justices believe the judiciary is not treating the Trump administration fairly.

Though such a conclusion can only be reached by inference, the justices have issued several fairly extraordinary orders in cases involving the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and the latest iteration of the travel ban, which deals rather harshly with trial courts in California, Hawaii and Maryland.

The latest signal came in a Wednesday order concerning the number of documents the government must release in connection with a lawsuit challenging the termination of DACA, an Obama-era amnesty initiative that extends temporary legal status to foreign nationals who came to the United States as children. A federal court in California ordered the Trump administration to release all documents relating to its decision to terminate the program. The government counters that it need not publicize its sensitive internal deliberations.

The order appears to be the product of a compromise, as the justices split five to four along ideological lines on Dec. 8 over the same issue. This time, however, it appears all the justices agreed that the California court’s order was “overly broad,” and that the breadth of the order warrants a slight rapping on the knuckles.

“The government makes serious arguments that at least portions of the district court’s order are overly broad,” the Supreme Court’s ruling reads. It goes on to say that the lower court should have allowed the government to temporarily shield the documents while resolving arguments in favor of their continued concealment.

It is rather unusual that the Court would involve itself in a dispute relating to the evidence-gathering phase of litigation, as Justice Stephen Breyer noted in his Dec. 8 dissent. That the Court reviewed this matter at all suggests that at least some of the justices believe lower courts have treated the administration with imprudence or intemperance, warranting a reprimand.

The Court has elsewhere flashed impatience with the lower court hearing challenges to the travel ban. In early December the justices issued a pair of rulings allowing the president’s latest travel sanctions to take full effect, overturning two lower courts that initially barred their enforcement.

The rulings, which drew dissents from Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor, are terse and straightforward, suggesting the Court sees little ambiguity in the cases and believes the Trump administration will ultimately prevail. The rulings also instruct the 4th and 9th U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal, which are currently hearing travel ban challenges, to “render [their] decision with appropriate dispatch.” This language is highly unusual in a Supreme Court order, and suggests that the justices plan to take the case and issue the final word as soon as possible.

Taken together, these decisions suggest the justices believe several lower courts have seriously erred in handling challenges to key Trump initiatives. The concise, per curiam opinions they have issued overturning these courts seem to send a clear message — that the Court takes seriously its role as the keeper of equilibrium in a chaotic political system, and that all courts must respect the prerogatives of the administration.”

  19. Wbboei, take a look at this:

The FBI’s top lawyer, James Baker, is being reassigned — one of the first moves by new director Christopher A. Wray to assemble his own team of senior advisers as he tries to fend off accusations of politicization within the bureau.

Baker told colleagues he will be taking on other duties at the FBI, according to people familiar with the matter. In recent months, Baker had been caught up in a strange interagency dispute that led to a leak probe and attracted the attention of senior lawmakers, but people familiar with the matter said the probe had recently ended with a decision not to charge anyone. The leak issue had not played a part in Baker’s reassignment, these people said.

Baker informed colleagues in an email Wednesday that his duties were changing at the FBI, according to people familiar with the matter. Two said he is being “reassigned’’ by Wray, but they cautioned that the change does not take effect immediately and such a move is a normal part of a new director taking charge at the bureau — not a reflection of the political controversies buffeting the FBI.

The Post is spinning this. The “reassignment” is much like the recusal by Judge Conteras. The chess pieces are moving behind the tapestries of the deep state.

  20. Nancy and Chuck hate this because it’s another reason not to vote Democrat in 2018.

    The Corporate Tax-Cut Dividend
Workers get a $1,000 bonus. Democrats call it ‘cruel’ and a ‘scam.’

    The Editorial BoardDec. 21, 2017 7:21 p.m. ET
Nancy Pelosi has decided that no Democrat, not even the irrepressible Chuck Schumer, is going to outbid her in pouring forth denunciations of the tax reform of 2017. The bill, she says, reflects “the greed of those with power, the cruelty that is in the heart of the tax scam.” Digging deeper into the holiday spirit, she invoked Dickens’ Ebenezer Scrooge and Tiny Tim.

Boeing, saying the new law “boosts Boeing’s competitiveness,” announced it will move up an additional $300 million of investments, dedicating $100 million to corporate giving; $100 million for worker development; and $100 million to enhance the company’s facilities.

AT&T said it will increase its U.S. investments next year by $1 billion, plus pay a $1,000 bonus to some 200,000 employees. Comcast CEO Brian Roberts, explicitly citing tax reform and the FCC’s decision to end net-neutrality, pledged a $1,000 bonus to about 100,000 employees and vowed to invest “well in excess” of $50 billion over five years.

Wells Fargo and Fifth Third Bancorp said they would increase their minimum wage to $15 an hour, with Fifth Third also throwing in a $1,000 bonus for 3,000 hourly workers. Nexus Services is giving a 5% pay raise to its employees and hiring 200 more. “While the tax reduction for individuals are not that substantial, we at Nexus thought that we could share the gains from the deep corporate tax cuts with both current employees and our new hires,” said CEO Mike Donovan.

If Nancy Pelosi ever did anything in her political career that produced this result from corporations, she’d be dancing down the aisles of the House of Representatives in a Santa Claus suit. Instead, the Democrats are dripping bile on the entire bill. “There are only two places where America is popping champagne,” said Sen. Schumer, “the White House and the corporate board rooms.”

The Democratic strategy heading into 2018 comes down to running against the tax bill almost entirely on the basis of its poor opinion-poll numbers, which result from months of negative media spin. Still, there are a couple of things worth noting about the position the Democrats have staked out.

The party this week has issued an all-but-official announcement that its core interests are at odds with those of the entire private economy of business owners and employers. For modern Democrats, the employer class is a lumpen corporatariat, with no other function in the life of the country than to be taxed and regulated.

Let’s consider this notion in light of these corporate announcements. Between them, AT&T and Comcast have 300,000 employees who will benefit from the $1,000 bonuses. Virtually all American workers not employed by the government depend on the economic health of their employers to support themselves and their families. On what basis do these bonus and investment announcements deserve cynicism and vilification?

Consider as well the economic substance. Among the criticisms of the corporate-rate cut is that businesses mostly would buy back shares, benefiting only shareholders. Certainly many will do that. But the announcements by AT&T, Boeing and Comcast suggest another likely result. In a growing economy with a tight labor market, scarce workers are increasingly valuable. When Boeing says it plans to invest $100 million in its workers, the clear message is that Boeing knows that in a strong and competitive economy, it is going to be in a bidding war for talent.

That is part of the argument made by White House chief economist Kevin Hassett and others. A wide body of research suggests that corporate tax reform that lets companies retain a greater share of earnings will benefit workers in higher wages.

How any of this is bad is a mystery. Democrats are betting that the private sector will fail to respond to the tax bill’s incentives. Democrats used to be the party of hope. Now, by their daily admission, they have become the party of hoping that tax cuts will fail and private investment won’t help workers.

  21. S, Limbaugh:

RUSH: Hey, folks, I have a question. How long is it gonna be before the Democrats demand a special counsel to investigate whether or not Trump colluded with five major corporations to issue bonuses for their employees if the tax bill passed? I mean, this couldn’t have happened on its own. This could not be something that happened organically. There has to be collusion for this to have happened, because everybody knows that corporations and everybody else hates Donald Trump.

Now, why would these corporations do anything to make Trump look good. And so how long will it be before the Democrats demand a special counsel, and what will the crime be? The crime, the scheme will be to give trickle-down a good name and to deprive the Democrats of a campaign theme.

Greetings, my friends. It’s great to have you. Rush Limbaugh behind the Golden EIB Microphone.

I cannot tell you what a seminal and phenomenal achievement this is. Setting aside for the moment the substance of this, which we will get to in due course, the very fact that this has happened is astounding and earth-shattering, and believe me when I tell you, the Democrat Party and its accomplices in the media are in the midst of shell shock right now. Of all the things they dreamed of happening this year, this was not on the list. Nothing like this was on the list. Trump was not to have a single achievement, especially legislatively. It wasn’t going to happen.

The media and the Democrats combined forces arrayed against Donald Trump would be on the verge of forcing him out of office by now. There was simply no way a substantive legislative achievement could happen. People in the media and in the Democrat Party invested every ounce of energy they have into preventing something like this from happening, and yet it did.

And not just happened. It has happened with a unified Republican Party, another aspect of this that nobody dreamed would ever happen. Because Donald Trump doesn’t know what he’s doing, and Donald Trump is a pig, and Donald Trump is it unsuited and unfit for office.

They have arisen every day, gotten out of bed with these beliefs driving them, propelling them, energizing them, it is these beliefs which is responsible for getting their adrenaline going. And it’s been shattered. It has blown up in front of their faces. None of this is supposed to happen. Every ounce of energy they’ve had has been expended toward preventing something like this.

Now, just a little bit of a prediction on the tax bill itself, and I mentioned this yesterday. I think this is going to usher in a period of economic growth and American national optimism that many people thought we would never see again, particularly in the midst of the eight years of Barack Obama when pessimism and defeatism and fatalism was taking over much of our country.

This achievement and the substance of it, these are significant tax rate reductions which are going to result in a significant amount of money remaining in the U.S. economy. It’s going to result in a significant amount of money being brought back from overseas, repatriated into the U.S. economy. The U.S. economy is going to grow like gangbusters. I saw somebody made a prediction it might be as high — it was Art Laffer, I think he said it could go as high as 8%. That may be a bit optimistic. But I’m here to tell you that there are hidden benefits in this that nobody is seeing yet because they’re not being discussed.

Now, on the political side of this — and this is even better. The Democrat Party, in its obstinance, in its stubbornness, the Democrat Party is now preparing — I kid you not — to make this tax cut, this legislation, along with hatred for Trump the centerpiece of their campaign to win back the House and Senate in 2018. Now, if you think that doesn’t make any sense, you’re right. It doesn’t make any sense at all, but they don’t make any sense, they haven’t been making any sense for most of our lifetimes. But they are gearing up.

Here’s the problem they’ve given themselves. They have artificially suppressed the polling on this tax cut. By that I mean they have spent the last number of months running it down, ripping it, criticizing it, claiming that it’s things that it isn’t: a tax cut for the rich, a tax cut for corporations, trickle-down doesn’t work. I just saw what’s his name, Hollen, ranking Democrat in the leadership of the House. Yeah, Chris Van Hollen. Yeah, he’s up there saying these bonuses don’t mean anything. These bonuses are just PR.

In fact, I saw some leftists last night are advocating a boycott of AT&T for joining Trump in this and bonusing 200,000 employees. Leftists on Twitter are trying to gin up a boycott of AT&T. Go right ahead. We will get out of the way and let you try to work that up. Chris Van Hollen today (paraphrasing), “This is a PR scheme. This isn’t what they promised. They didn’t promise thousand-dollar bonuses. They promised $4,000-a-year raises, and we know this isn’t gonna happen because corporations don’t give their money away to their employees.” Every Democrat talking point for the last 30 years just came rolling off his tongue like he wasn’t even having to think about it. And he wasn’t. Just programmed robotics.

They have spent so many weeks now beating this tax cut up. You’ve seen the polling data on it. We discussed it yesterday. Twenty-six percent of the American people — and let’s accept the polling data for what it is for the moment. Let’s not get into the weeds about whether it’s accurate or not. I don’t think it is, but it doesn’t matter. We’re gonna deal with it as it is.

Twenty-six percent of the American people think the tax cut’s a bad idea for every reason the Democrats and the media told them. That they’re not gonna get a tax cut. In fact, they’re gonna get a tax increase, the rich are gonna get the tax cut, corporations are gonna get the tax cut, and corporations are not gonna give anybody any of the money. You’re getting screwed. Trump did it for his buddies. Trump cut taxes for him and his whole family. Trump did this, Trump did that.

So they got their polling number, 26%, and other polls show the same thing. I have to tell you, the polling on this can only go one way now, and it can only go up. This bill can only get more popular, and I’m talking about statistically. They’ve had to work pretty hard to gin this thing down in polling numbers to 26. They’ve had to work pretty hard to get disapproval so high. But the problem is that real life is gonna kick in.

Five different corporations have done things like promise bonuses to hundreds of thousands of employees and raise their own minimum wages to 15 bucks an hour. And these are just five, just the first five. The people that work at these outfits are going to see the benefit. Everybody else is gonna see the benefit because there’s one thing undeniable here, and every independent analyst looking at this has concluded that 80% of the American people are gonna get a tax cut, and it’s gonna be significant.

And then in 2019 when the Obamacare mandate is repealed, we’ve got one more year to go for it, Katie, bar the door here, folks. The real life, the reality of this is that people’s economic circumstances are going to improve. And juxtapose that against all of the fear and the scare tactics the Democrats put forth today, start polling tax cuts, they start polling this legislation into next year, it can only go up, meaning it can only appear to be getting more popular.

I think politically they have shot themselves in the foot by artificially suppressing the polling data on this. In their effort to kill it, in their effort to make sure this didn’t pass, they have given themselves a circumstance where the polling data can only go up and make it look more popular, which of course is not gonna help the Democrats as they run a campaign based on the illegitimacy of this. They’re gonna keep hammering Trump as though they hate him. Well, because they do. And they’re gonna keep trying to parlay Trump hatred and class warfare into victory in 2018 without any other agenda.

The Democrats are going to be seen before too long as the people who will take your bonus away from you. The Democrats are gonna be seen as the people who want to take your tax cut away from you. Let them go right ahead. If they think they can win the House back using that and hatred for Trump, have at it. They are living in a fantasy world. They’re living in a world where they believe everybody hates Trump as irrationally and delusionally as they do.

That was quite a sight at the White House yesterday with all of these Republicans and this effusive praise for Donald Trump. And let me tell you something, folks, it was legitimate and genuine. It was real. These people, members of the House and the Senate, genuinely meant what they were saying. This could not have happened without Donald Trump. Donald Trump has learned over the course of the year, early on, maybe not familiar, maybe not totally up to speed with the way legislation happens and becomes law, it’s not like running a business.

So the Obamacare repeal and replace, they never unified on it, they never got really past second base on it. But this is an entirely different story. The Republican Party is now unified, and the Republican Party psychologically has now defeated the swamp. Donald Trump has led them to the defeat of the swamp. Donald Trump inspired them to fearlessly plow ahead without concern to what the media was gonna say about ’em. Do you realize how seminal that is?

For the last 25 years we have had watched our Republicans cower in fear in the corner, afraid of what the media was gonna say about them if they dared stand up for what they claim to believe in. Donald Trump has been taking the arrows for these people all year long. Pioneers take the arrows. They decided to unify. They decided to come together on this, and it’s fun to win. It’s exciting to win. It’s energizing to win. It inspires confidence to win. And they know what they overcame here.

They know the forces that were arrayed against Trump and arrayed against them, and they overcame it. You do it once, you can do it again. You do it a second time, you think you can do it more often. And the more often you do it, the more confident you become that you can keep doing it. So I believe there’s much wrapped up in this that is not observable on the top. But if you dig deep, you find more positives in this than you can possibly imagine. You have to look for them, but they are there.

And on the other side of the ledger, there are the Democrats swimming against the tide, seeming to be happily opposed to people keeping more of their money, happily opposed to corporations providing holiday bonuses to their employees, happily opposed to Donald Trump and the Republican Party who are singularly responsible for this, because there isn’t a single Democrat whose fingerprints are on this anywhere. There’s not a single Democrat who can take credit. I want to go back to September 7th on this program, right back after Labor Day. This is one of many times I made this request or observation, but here it is again.

RUSH ARCHIVE: If just at any time in the past six months or any time in the next six, if for just three months Ryan and McConnell would work with Trump to advance his agenda, they would own everything for who knows how long. If they would have repealed and replaced Obamacare, if they would have then moved on to tax cuts and done real tax reform, and if they had built the wall, I don’t care what Chuck and Nancy do, and I don’t care what the Republicans do after that. If those three things had serious action with an appearance of unity within the Republican Party on those issues, the Democrats wouldn’t stand a prayer for 25 years.

RUSH: Step one has just been accomplished. Phase one. Nikki Haley, the United Nations, people are applauding the United States’ position against our allies, so-called allies and enemies there, finally calling them out and demanding their allegiance or else we cut them off. This stuff is being cheered all over this country, but the Democrats and the media don’t know it because they aren’t cheering it and none of the people they know are cheering it. We put together a montage of the Republicans heaping praise on Trump at the White House yesterday afternoon. Look, it’s great. It’s great. But I can’t help but wonder what all could have been accomplished if this had started this way in January.

MITCH MCCONNELL: Mr. President, you made the case for the tax bill. Thank you, Mr. President, (applause starts) for all you’re doing.

PAUL RYAN: Something this big, something this generational, something this profound, could not have been done without exquisite presidential leadership. Mr. President, thank you for getting us (applause starts) over the finish line.

LISA MURKOWSKI: This is a bright day for (applause/cheers start) America. We thank you for that.

KEVIN BRADY: But for your leadership, we would not be here today.

KEVIN MCCARTHY: We would not be standing here today if it wasn’t for you.

ORRIN HATCH: Mr. President, I have to say that you’re living up to everything I thought you would. You’re one heck of a leader and we’re all benefiting from it. And we’re going to make this the greatest presidency that we’ve seen not only in generations, but maybe ever.

RUSH: The media is beside itself. They’re wondering how much these people were paid to praise Trump. They’re calling them sycophants. They’re calling them rear-end kissers, butt kissers. They’re saying it isn’t real, that Trump has some sort of hold on these people and he made them come up there and say all these things.

There may be a lot of chicanery in Washington, but I’m here to tell you, this didn’t happen because Trump demanded it. This didn’t happen because the sentiment isn’t real. These people have needed leadership for the longest time, and it wasn’t provided during the eight years of Obama. There wasn’t any real Republican leadership, charismatic, energetic leadership. The Republicans in Washington were led, if anybody, by voters, but there was no leader, there was nobody unifying them, nobody bringing them together.

The long knives are out. There were mutinies and other forms of internecine battles going on within the Republican Party. Trump is the difference. They know it. Lisa Murkowski, look at all — they did this ceremony again where they just sign the bill, the House and Senate, look at all of the Republican women that are for this, Lisa Murkowski because of drilling in ANWR. Susan Collins is in on this.

Bob Corker admitted on Fox & Friends today that he now understands what Trump has been going through for a year because of the way he was treated by Wolf Blitzer and CNN a couple days ago. He didn’t he apologize, but he acknowledged to the president that he had been unaware of what the president — the dissembling of the media.

RUSH: Make no mistake, the shell shock on the left here is real. Again, I can’t tell you. Just none of this was supposed to happen. Trump’s not supposed to still be there by now, folks. But am I right when I’m right? When they get together, when they move Trump the trust agenda — and the Trump agenda is theirs. The Trump agenda, I don’t care what you Never Trumpers think, is a conservative agenda.

Bill Bennett, who worked for Reagan, secretary of education for Reagan was on Fox last night. Bill Bennett said Trump is more conservative than Reagan and that his judicial nominees are more conservative than Reagan’s and the tax plan here is more conservative than Reagan’s.

Now, some people are gonna argue about that, but you can’t say that Trump is a problem for conservatism. Trump has done more to advance and now pass conservatism than anything that’s happened, my friends, the last 17 years! I’m talking about real conservatism. It’s all over the place. Not supposed to happen! Conservatism was supposed to have been defeated long ago.

The Republican Party was supposed to be neutered and rendered irrelevant by this time because of the election of Donald Trump. And look, they are so discombobulated. There was a photo that appeared today — I think it on Twitter, don’t care where it was — it was Trump sitting in the Oval Office and McConnell, Pence, and Paul Ryan surrounding him, they’ve all got big smiles on their face, and it’s related to the tax bill passing.

There’s a guy named Dan Pfeiffer. He is a former communications office director for Obama. He said that he hopes that photo celebrating the passage of the Republican tax bill appears on the front page of the New York Times when Trump is indicted. They still think Trump colluded with the Russians, which is why I won’t be surprised if there’s a demand for a special counsel to see if Trump colluded with these five corporations to offer bonuses and a raised minimum wage.

So Pfeiffer said he hopes that photo celebrating the passage of tax reform appears on the front page of the New York Times when Trump is indicted. It was followed by Ben Rhodes, the brother of the news director at CBS, he’s also a former Obamaite, Ben Rhodes agreed with Pfeiffer and added that the photo should accompany the obituaries of Pence, McConnell, and Ryan, the obits!

Steve Scalise, who was actually shot by a deranged leftists tweeted, “You know, you guys might want to reconsider your rhetoric.” And they climbed down a little bit. I’m telling you, they are shell-shocked and don’t quite know how to process this. This is such a dramatic failure for everybody on the left, they can’t stomach it.

RUSH: And don’t forget what we learned yesterday, what I passed on to you. There’s a whole bunch of conservative intellectual Never Trumpers not happy with this, folks. They don’t think Trump’s the guy to be implementing tax cut legislation ’cause they don’t think Trump knows what he’s doing. So they oppose it because Trump supports it. I’m not making this stuff up.

We have some conservative intellectual Never Trumpers who are out there saying, “Well, I wouldn’t get all excited about this. I don’t think it’s gonna make that much of a difference in the economy ’cause Donald Trump doesn’t know what he’s doing.” From people who haven’t helped move us one step forward the whole time they’ve been sitting around intellectually thinking about things.

Even the Washington Post is echoing me today. There’s a couple of bloggers at the Washington Post scared to death that the tax bill is gonna get more popular. Damn right it is. It’s gonna get more popular ’cause it can’t get more unpopular. They polled it so unfairly. They drove down the approval numbers so low the only place this tax bill can go in terms of polling is up, and it is gonna go up once it’s implemented and people start seeing they’ll have more money.

And it’s gonna put the lie to everything the Democrats said. And the Democrats are gonna continue to lie about it. The Democrats are gonna continue to base their campaign in 2018 on hatred of Trump and running against this tax cut bill, calling it a heist of the federal government.

We had a caller yesterday. I hope you people heard this. She was curious why the Democrats are so opposed to people doing better. I said, because Democrats only want their voters to do better as a result of government entitlement programs or government assistance. They don’t want people doing better on their own. Self-reliance and individualism are both the enemy of the Democrat Party.

They need people incapable of helping themselves. They need people who are victims of something and therefore are dependent. The Democrats oppose this simply because it’s a threat. People keeping more of what they earn because they work is a threat to socialists. It’s a threat to the modern day Democrat Party. So they’re all-in now. And even a couple of their Drive-By specialists are worried that the only thing this bill can do now is get even more popular.

  22. “Consider as well the economic substance. Among the criticisms of the corporate-rate cut is that businesses mostly would buy back shares, benefiting only shareholders.”
I suspect that Trump has been talking to CEOs for months with a “Come to Jesus” message. If the tax cuts go to exec. compensation and stock by back and not workers/capital improvements they will have a very painful future. I don’t think that the timing of all of the announcements of worker bonuses and future investment is just a coincidence.

  23. Breaking
Sessions orders DOJ review after report Obama administration gave Hezbollah a pass

President Trump received warm welcome as he stepped off AF1 in FL this afternoon.

Hope cyber snoops here can find better pix/video than Scavino’s Tweet. It was nice. PDT spoke to many, posed for selfies, picked up at least one kid.

  24. Admin…yes, Rush nails it

the Dems sound dumber by the day…they sound so bitter…and they sound like they do not know anything about how the economy works…no wonder all the cities they run go bankrupt and turn into violence infested failures

Do they want to run on “taking the Trump tax breaks away from people”

and frankly as I mentioned CNN & MSNBC are really unbelievable to listen to, I was a prisoner today and heard it all for myself…all day the same story over & over again…they already have PDT convicted and the most unpopular President in history…and they are pushing Kushner will be indicted…and their “snark” is so offensive…both cable outlets act like a group of friends all gossiping together instead of objective journalists (I think they are really bad for the mental health of our country) they are filling people’s heads with lies and made up assumptions

maybe one of us can find the rest of Rush’s transcript which I guess was also on 12/21 where he pulls all the passages from PDT inaugual speech…& brings them into current time

it is mindblowing how “right on” PDT was…and is…

  25. tried to post RL analysis of PDT’s speech 3X & it seems to be disappearing

Admin you can find it on RL’s page 12-21 under his analysis of address

it is really worth the read & to be posted

  26. Obama shut down the investigation into the drug running and money laundering activities of Hezbollah for the Iran deal, and he was willing to accept the cost, including a flood of drugs into this country and a terrorist beach head on our borders, coveted by Iran. Yet another example where he, as the stooge of Soros, threw this nation under the bus for the sake of his naiive global vision which was achievable, if at all, over four presidencies. The 2016 election denied him two more terms and the bad of the deal has now been exposed and the supposed good, which was always a snare and a delusion, will never materialize. In sum, he is fucked.

    Betrayed by time

The Obama administration’s decision to let Iranian proxy Hezbollah build a criminal empire in the Americas in exchange for a coveted nuclear deal provides a glimpse into the strategic thinking of the former president. A recent Politico article laid out the bare bones of the transaction:
In its determination to secure a nuclear deal with Iran, the Obama administration derailed an ambitious law enforcement campaign targeting drug trafficking by the Iranian-backed terrorist group Hezbollah, even as it was funneling cocaine into the United States, according to a POLITICO investigation.

The campaign, dubbed Project Cassandra, was launched in 2008 after the Drug Enforcement Administration amassed evidence that Hezbollah had transformed itself from a Middle East-focused military and political organization into an international crime syndicate that some investigators believed was collecting $1 billion a year from drug and weapons trafficking, money laundering and other criminal activities. … But as Project Cassandra reached higher into the hierarchy of the conspiracy, Obama administration officials threw an increasingly insurmountable series of roadblocks in its way …
By May 2010, Brennan, then assistant to the president for homeland security and counterterrorism, confirmed in a speech that the administration was looking for ways to build up “moderate elements” within Hezbollah.
In practice, the administration’s willingness to envision a new role for Hezbollah in the Middle East, combined with its desire for a negotiated settlement to Iran’s nuclear program, translated into a reluctance to move aggressively against the top Hezbollah operatives, according to Project Cassandra members and others.

But it is the thinking implied by the facts that is so fascinating. The Obama administration must have been dazzled by the prospect of engagement, at the tantalizing chance of building up “moderate” elements in Hezbollah. But in exchange for these political goals, Asher noted, it would be necessary to allow Hezbollah to build an operational capability. One that could penetrate the U.S. homeland through a massive system of espionage rings, smuggling networks and money laundering syndicates based in Latin and Central America. Although the cost was steep — tons of addicting drugs, a growing number of infiltration routes, and loads of dirty money that collectively made up the Iran “Action Network”.

Hizballah’s External Security Organization (i.e. its terrorist wing) uses crime for exporting its influence, increasing followers around the world, and generating income.

Organized crime — ranging from cocaine and heroin trafficking to selling counterfeit currency and cigarettes, along with massive money laundering via the Lebanese banking system — has become a much larger source of funding for Hizballah than support from Iran.
Hizballah, partnered with Latin American cartels and paramilitary partners, is now one of the largest exporters of narcotics from South and Central America to West Africa into Europe and is perhaps the world’s largest money laundering organization

Hizballah’s drugs-for-intelligence program has evolved into a massive drugs-for-profit initiative.

For Iran, it would be the fulfillment of a long cherished dream. As Robert Valencia in Newsweek noted, Iran had long coveted a base from which to attack the continental United States itself. “In the years after the 9/11 attacks, Iran and Hezbollah’s influence in Latin America thrived with the help of populist leaders. Venezuela’s then-President Hugo Chávez worked alongside Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Hezbollah on drug trade and other activities to weaken the U.S. clout in the region. Within a few years, cocaine trafficking from Venezuela to the U.S. soared … Earlier this year, the U.S. State Department found that Hezbollah strengthened its relationship with Mexican and Colombian cartels and established operations in Bolivia, Ecuador, Brazil and Venezuela’s island of Margarita.”
Iran got its dream so that the Obama administration could get theirs.

By canceling the Cassandra operation, Iran was allowed to form a Western Hemisphere criminal network unimpeded (in addition to all the other financial incentives offered to Tehran) in exchange for time. As the Brookings Institute noted, Obama wasn’t preventing judgment day, simply paying to defer it. “The deal will only delay and not prevent a nuclear-armed Iran. Key restrictions on enriched uranium- and plutonium-production expire after 10 and 15 years, permitting Iran to expand its nuclear capacities and greatly reduce the time it would need to produce nuclear weapons, if it chose to do so in the future.”

What went wrong with the Obama deal?

In hindsight, the success of the Iran nuclear deal implicitly hinged upon the hidden assumption of a third and possibly a fourth Obama term through Hillary Clinton. Her defeat not only exposed the huge costs of the deal but undermined the future payoffs themselves. The eagerness of the Resistance to bring down Donald Trump stems from one single fact. He threatens to ruin their meticulously crafted multi-year plans.

  27. From the link

Trump has ripped back the curtain on the wizards of public shaming and revealed them to be powerless crybabies.

But he’s the only man who could do it. He had both the money and the attitude necessary to the task. His supporters grasped the importance of this unique advantage early.

I am not alone in this assessment. What is less obvious is exactly what it is that makes Donald Trump tick. He loves to talk about winning, but how does he define winning for himself? My best guess is that it’s getting things done when other people say you can’t. It’s an internally motivated, fuck you approach to life that I don’t think most politicians possess.

  28. I’ve heard rumors that people who actually know Donald Trump say that the man they know is nothing like the one you see on television. I suspect that this is true and that most of what you see is a clever act designed both to appeal to his supporters and to frustrate his opponents.

I also believe that Donald Trump is far more intelligent and capable than his opponents and even many of his supporters believe him to be. This video of a young Donald Trump on the David Letterman show in the 1980’s gives some insight toward the man. It’s worth noting that he was banging the drum about our “allies” taking advantage of us 30 years ago. Also notice how intelligent and well spoken he is. Did he somehow lose all his smarts as he grew older or is this interview a glimpse of the man behind the mask?

  29. just a side comment, a few mornings ago I was changing channels and happen to hear Joe S on MJ say:

“This has been such a lousy year”

…(for him and that poser next to him…yes I would agree)

  30. http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2017/12/major-shake-hits-fbi-suspected-leaker-comey-confidant-removed-top-post/

FBI General Counsel James A. Baker is purportedly under a Department of Justice criminal investigation for allegedly leaking classified national security information to the media, according to multiple government officials close to the probe who spoke with Circa on the condition of anonymity.

FBI spokeswoman Carol Cratty said the bureau would not comment on Baker and would not confirm or deny any investigation.

This comes as Department of Justice Attorney General Jeff Sessions said he would soon be making an announcement regarding the progress of leak investigations. A DOJ official declined to comment on Circa’s inquiry into Baker but did say, the planned announcement by Sessions is part of the overall “stepped up efforts on leak investigations.”

Three sources, with knowledge of the investigation, told Circa that Baker is the top suspect in an ongoing leak investigation, but Circa has not been able to confirm the details of what national security information or material was allegedly leaked.

A federal law enforcement official with knowledge of ongoing internal investigations in the bureau told Circa, “the bureau is scouring for leakers and there’s been a lot of investigations.”

The revelation comes as the Trump administration has ramped up efforts to contain leaks both within the White House and within its own national security apparatus.

Baker is a close confidant of former FBI Director James Comey, and recent media reports suggested he was reportedly advising the then-FBI director on legal matters following private meetings the former director had in February with President Trump in the Oval Office.

  31. 12/22/17. “Conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer on Friday had a special Christmas message for his Fox News fans, after taking a break from the public eye to recover from surgery.

“This being my first ‘vacation’ from Fox since I began there years ago, I should be enjoying the layoff, except for the fact that I have to work hard — my doctors compare it to marathon training — to offset the debilitating effects of the surgery,” Krauthammer said in a statement read on-air by “Special Report” anchor Bret Baier…”

There’s not much more at the link. Tough breaks for him.

  32. 12/23/17.UN Security Council slaps fresh sanctions on North Korea
8 hours ago – The UN has imposed more sanctions on North Korea, in the latest effort to squeeze the Pyongyang regime after Kim Jong Un conducted his third test of an intercontinental ballistic missile. US President Donald Trump praised the Security Council’s unanimous vote to back the sanctions on Twitter, saying: …”

  33. Wishing all a very Merry Xmas and happy and most importantly a healthy New Year. While we don’t always agree, I’ve learned a lot from all of you, particularly our great adm, and appreciate this site sustaining us all these years!!! Here’s hoping 2018 is even better !!!

  34. BERLIN (Reuters) – Austria’s new Chancellor, Sebastian Kurz, called for an end to “failed” attempts to achieve a quota system for distributing asylum seekers around the European Union and urged new efforts to help refugees in their country of origin.

  35. Escalating the state’s showdown with the Trump administration over illegal immigration, California Gov. Jerry Brown used a Christmas holiday tradition to grant pardons Saturday to two men who were on the verge of being deported for committing crimes while in the U.S.
Moonbeam is seeking to push the envelope, and he needs to be called on it. Kennedy is from California, but he has gone soft in his later years. Wait until he steps down. A favorable decision would not resolve the sanctuary state bullshit Moonbeam is also peddling, but it could bloody his nose, and there might be some favorable abiter dicta that could be used in a future case involving a direct attack on the successionist policies of Moonbeam.

“Federal immigration laws make noncitizens deportable on the basis of
state criminal convictions. Historically, Congress implemented this scheme
in ways that respected the states’ sovereignty over their criminal laws. As
more recent federal laws have been interpreted, however, a state’s decision
to pardon, expunge, or otherwise set aside a conviction under state law
will often have no effect on the federal government’s determination to use
that conviction as a basis for deportation. While scholars have shown
significant interest in state and local laws regulating immigrants, few have
considered the federalism implications of federal rules that ignore a state’s
authority to determine the continuing validity of its own convictions.”

(Note: this UC Davis article disagrees with this and I suspect this is what Moonbeam is relying upon. But it is a flawed analysis, which wreaks of virtue signalling and non fealty to our constitutional system.)

  36. MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY HANUKAH ALL! It’s GREAT to not worry DAILY what new nightmare was being implemented to destroy Americanism. God Bless all. 😀 😀 😀

  37. McCabe plans to retire and wants to protect his pension? Good luck with that one. I think he will lose his pension and will spend his golden years at Fort Leavenworth. Gingrich agrees. This Cosa Nostra redux is too big, and too public to cover up. The same for Comey, Sroke et ux, Ohr et ux, Baker. They will have to rename a whole wing of the hoosegow in honor for these deep state traitors. I wonder whether any of them will try to trade up and give us Holder, and/or Obama. I doubt that even now these deep state traitors have no idea how much jeopardy they are in. I want them far more than I want Bill and Hillary. The deep state is the enemy within. On the narrow question of whether the corrupt McCabe can keep his pension, the following applies:

Q: If someone has retired from federal service and they are convicted of a crime, will they lose their pension?

A: If you are no longer federally employed or maintaining a security clearance, you are generally not obligated to inform OPM of a post-retirement conviction. Being convicted of a crime almost never jeopardizes a federal pension.

The rare EXCEPTION to this rule for federal civil servants is the list of crimes codified at 5 U.S.C § 8312. Those charges almost all relate to CRIMINAL DISLOYALTY TO THE UNITED STATES: espionage, treason, sabotage, insurrection against the United States, improper sharing or intentional loss of certain highly classified documents, and so on.

A soft coup to take down the president certainly qualifies as an act of criminal disloyalty to the United States, and the listed infraction are eustum generis (of like kind) to what they did.

  38. Correction: its not that it is too big and too public that makes this case impossible to bury. Its not the fact that it represents an assault on the rule of law, or the election process alone that makes it treason. It is the WEAPONIZING of the powers of government to achieve crass political ends not achievable at the ballot box to support allies and destroy enemies that pushes it over the top. In a rational universe the dims would recognize that it is a fools errand to defend an indefensible position, and would get off that train sooner rather than later, lest they suffer the fate of the bullet train in Washington state. The problem for them is they behave like muskoxen, and form a defensive ring around themselves, which paralyzes dims in red states like West Virginia, Nebraska and Montana from acting in their individual self interest and saving themselves in 2018. They make themselves defenders of corruption, and in red states where people still believe in the rule of law, they will perish. Their opponents will portray them for exactly what they are: defenders of the corrupt Washington establishment. Dead men walking.

  39. Notice how the Google webpage shows tropical birds. Not a hint of Christmas. At some point, the public will realize what a threat these twisted meglomaniacs are to free speech and individual rights. It would be tragic to learn, someday, that whoever controls Google controls the world. They need checks and balances to deter them from totalitarian behaviors, because, sure as god made little green apples, that is where they are heading. And we need to ensure that they are reigned in, because the absolute transformative power they are exercising corrupts absolutely.

  40. The greatest threat to our liberty is the rise of bureaucracies.

A year ago, I had a discussion with a law professor who is a leading attorney in the field of ethics. He and others deplored how the mandate of the bar association has been transformed from an organization devoted to serving its members–namely the lawyers in the state, to a policing organization which treats them as defendants. This was the direct result of one woman in the expanding bureaucracy.

This is not an isolated problem.

In academia, Camille Paglia and Jordan Peterson report that powerful bureacracies have stripped power from the professors, and enforce rigid indoctrination as opposed to free thinking on the student body, all in the named of diversity and political correctness. I should add that my friend David Horiowitz has been bemoaning this transformation for longer than anyone, but for him it was the problem of Cassandra–able to see the future, unable to get people to believe him, etc.

In a corporate environment, there are also such things. More often than not, you find them in the human resource departments. They monitor the behaviors of people, hold court and render their own interpretations of policy. Worst of all, they are cookie cutters, with no sense of the grey areas. I have seen this happen over the course of my career, and it has grown exponentially, as these departments grow and add people who must justify their existence.

But the worse offender of all is government. Big government means big bureaucracy, and big jobs for ambitious Harvard trained nerds. And when a small cadre of people with partisan objectives are able to commandeer power, they can and will use it in destructive ways. And that is what we are seeing now in spades. Under Obama (hereinafter asshole) the goal was to establish the administrative state wherein bureaucrats would rule (rather than serve) the nation, and would micromanage every aspect of our lives. Big data would be there to assist them. Invariably their mantra is they do what the do for the welfare of the people. But as Camus observed, the welfare of the people has always been the alibi of tyrants.

  41. Ho ho ho:
“…Judicial Watch exclusively obtained droves of records back in 2013 documenting how, under Mueller’s leadership, the FBI purged all anti-terrorism training material deemed “offensive” to Muslims after secret meetings between Islamic organizations and the FBI chief. Judicial Watch had to sue to get the records and published an in-depth report on the scandal in 2013 and a lengthier, updated follow-up in 2015.

As FBI director, Mueller bent over backwards to please radical Islamist groups and caved into their demands. The agency eliminated the valuable anti-terrorism training material and curricula after Mueller met with various Islamist organizations, including those with documented ties too terrorism. Among them were two organizations— Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR)—named by the U.S. government as unindicted co-conspirators in the 2007 Holy Land Foundation terrorist financing case. CAIR is a terrorist front group with extensive links to foreign and domestic Islamists. It was founded in 1994 by three Middle Eastern extremists (Omar Ahmad, Nihad Awad and Rafeeq Jaber) who ran the American propaganda wing of Hamas, known then as the Islamic Association for Palestine.

The records obtained as part of Judicial Watch’s lawsuit show that Mueller, who served 12 years as FBI chief, met with the Islamist organizations on February 8, 2012 to hear their demands. Shortly later the director assured the Muslim groups that he had ordered the removal of presentations and curricula on Islam from FBI offices nationwide. The purge was part of a broader Islamist operation designed to influence the opinions and actions of persons, institutions, governments and the public at-large. The records obtained by Judicial Watch also show similar incidents of Islamic influence operations at the Departments of Justice and State, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Obama White House.

Here are some of the reasons provided by Mueller’s FBI for getting rid of “offensive” training documents: “Article is highly inflammatory and inaccurately argues the Muslim Brotherhood is a terrorist organization….”

  42. The way to defeat bureaucracies is to prevent them from adding people and to lay them off when their original purpose has been achieved. Unless you do that, invariably, they will expand and redefine their mandate. That applies to the NAACP, which loses sight of its original objective, and adopts the same thuggish behavior as those it was created to resist. This is how a man must be judged y his character and not his skin color becomes he she or it must be judged by its racial category. It is how NOW which was created to promote gender equality comes ignores rape by a president who fits their political agenda and persecutes women in power who do not accept their agenda lock stock and barrel, and genuflect before it routinely. Bureaucracies have strangled every civilization in history, and led to its demise. Time will tell whether a nation which was conceived in liberty and distrust of government, succumbs to the same pattern. The mechanisms for preventing this–federalism, the bill of rights, states rights, free speech, due process are there to prevent it. But all it takes is one tool like Obama, and a political class dedicated solely to its own welfare to tear it down. This is why the deep state actors in the FBI and Justice Department be subjected to a public hanging, after due process has been given. It cannot be otherwise. No sneaking into the night with a huge public pension, no book deals, no lobbying jobs, just a cold prison cell to reflect upon their crimes and find salvation. Deterrence and retributive justice demand nothing less.

  44. David Goldman a year ago wrote:

The odious Bill Kristol tweeted today, “Obviously strongly prefer normal democratic and constitutional politics. But if it comes to it, prefer the deep state to the Trump state.”

For those who are not aware of the term “deep state,” it refers to the secret services in a dictatorship who overthrow governments, manipulate the press, and otherwise eliminate opponents.

I first heard the term in reference to Turkey, whose military and intelligence services overthrew governments they didn’t like with depressing regularity during the postwar period.

To speak of a “deep state” in an American context is to say that the United States is turning into a banana republic.

This is no joking matter. I am confident that President Trump and the tough guys in his cabinet will root out the saboteurs, leakers, manipulators, and liars who infest the intelligence services and who conspire with the liberal media to invent fake-news charges against a duly elected administration.

But the danger is real, and the fact that the intelligence community is playing games with domestic politics is a danger to our liberties.

  45. “This is really problematic for the FBI and DOJ right now,” said the source familiar with the congressional investigations. “They realize stonewalling is not going to work anymore, but they haven’t decided on a new strategy to manage the deluge of information spilling out about top officials’ conflicts of interest, their use of the Steele dossier and their own connections to Fusion GPS.”

Now Trump wants to roll back protections.

Washington state has gone off the deep end with this politically correct, genderless b.s.

I went to high school with the governor at Ingram High School. Family friend. No brain trust. Thinks he is presidential material. Ludicrous.

Ditto the mayor. Smartest of an insane group of contestants, including my old amigo Bob Hasegawa, an out of control Teamster. Her father was a state politician who tried and failed to become governor. A mini Walter Mondale–dull as paint. My god father was his campaign manager.

Then, add to that mix, the increasing control and influence of the high tech community. Ballard used to be called a small drinking village with a condominium problem. Now it is covered with high techies. Population density is consuming the city. Before I left I had dinner with a deputy chief of police. He was retiring. He said I did not leave Seattle. Seattle left me.

The whole thing is a shit show I no longer with to be involved with. And I am quite sure that my presence will not be missed.

  48. Chris Farrell, the brain behind Judicial Watch, had a lot to say last night. For one thing, he is not sanguine about what will come from the inspector general’s report, in correcting the overall problem. In so stating, he is mindful of the fact that many of the leaks to date have come from the inspector general, because he understands the nature of the beast. He maintains the Mueller is corrupt, and that opinion is widely shared by everybody now, except for the dims and big media who are joined at the hip. But the most important thing I heard him say, which I totally agree with is that because of McCabe’s central role in the exoneration of Hillary and the witch hunt against President Trump, his pension should be put in irons pending the completion of the investigation of the FBI and Justice Department. And if, as there appears to be, he is guilty of federal crimes which can be broadly characterized as a soft coup against the president, then like any other criminal, his pension should be forfeited to the general fund. Besides, he does not need the money: his wife got $700,000 from McAliffe, therefore he can afford to wait. And if he is as innocent as he claims, then like the mad magazine character he can stare into the cameras and say “What-me worry?” If other conspirators down the line, political hacks who were given civil service jobs in the dying days of the imperious rein (rain?) of Messiah Obama, would begin to understand that sooner of later their own pensions will be at risk. At that point, it will be much easier to secure their cooperation moving forward. But if McCabe is allowed to collect his pension, then they will feel their own pensions are safe and then they continue to sabotage the president, with reckless disregard for the country. Over the years, I have seen tough guys wilt at the prospect of losing their pension, and these FBI moles are not tough at all, they are back shooters, and they would fold like a cheap watch, for sure, not for maybe.

  49. The aforementioned political hacks who have burrowed their way into the administration like wood ticks are the antithesis of what an FBI agent is supposed to be. Those who see the problem are quick to assure us that the vast majority of people working for the FBI–some 30,000 of them from what I have heard are loyal, hardworking etc. May be. But the one thing I know for sure is a fish rots from the head down, and at this point there is plenty of irrefutable evidence that the leadership of the FBI, Justice Department, and as we will learn in the future the CIA (Brennan) and NSA (Not wittingly–that bald headed sad sack ex air force general who lies with impuntiy) are in pare delicto. All of this casts a long shadow over the integrity of these organizations and creates a presumption of guilt for everyone, i.e. where were you when the lights went out, and prove it. That is unfortunate. The evidence of intent is clear now. But even if it were not, and if one were inclined to embrace the most innocent explanation, for example, the one suggested by Andy McCarthy, namely, that the FBI credited the dirty dossier because they had worked with this jackal Steele before, and found him to be credible, and if Steele in turn was fed this information by the wily Cossak Putin, i.e. Vlad the impaler to democrats, then what does that say about the sheer incompetence of those charged with protecting this nation? To me it says this: they swallowed his scheme hook line and sinker, and turned the nation upside down chasing a phantom.

  50. I see now where Richard Benvenista has weighed in, in support of Mueller. Frankly, it was simply a matter of time. The dims can ill afford not to believe in Mueller, and so they heap praise on him, without considering his former track record of botched cases, partisanship, and prosecutorial overreach. Well, a friend of mine was his neighbor so several years ago, he sent me a copy of Richard’s book, and signed by the great man himself whom I never met. In those days, I did not have a fireplace. So the dumpster had to do. As they say, any port in a storm.

  53. BREAKING: House Intel Committee Subpoenas McCain Staffer Over Trump Dossier – IT’S HAPPENING!

If we were to drain the swamp, this would be a beginning part of that. A former State Department official was issued a subpoena by the House Intelligence Committee on Wednesday because of his alleged knowledge about the dossier scandal. This official with ties to Senator John McCain (R-AZ) is reported to have firsthand knowledge about the head of the snake, as it were, of the entire dossier matter. According to Fox News, the committee confirmed this to them earlier.

David Kramer is the former staffer in question. The House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) issued the subpoena to Kramer, a senior fellow at the McCain Institute for International Leadership, affirming that Kramer has information on the sources behind the dossier. The contents of the dossier are still unconfirmed and the Wednesday subpoena is shaping up to play a revelatory role in the matter.

This comes on the heels of the committee finding out that Kramer visited Christopher Steele, a former British spy and author of the dossier, in November 2016. He reportedly was told information and was given a copy of the dossier which was intended for McCain, according to Fox News.

The senator then gave the document to James Comey, the disgraced former FBI director who let Hillary get off scot-free in the email “matter.” It was redundant however, because the FBI had already been given a copy by Steele himself.

The House Intelligence Committee had a hearing on Dec. 19 and confirmed then that Kramer told some members of Congress that he knew who the sources in relation to the dossier but was unwilling to divulge them. This proved to be unacceptable to the Committee who then issued the subpoena. He is scheduled to appear before the committee on January 11.

  54. JUST IN: Robert Mueller Prosecutor Is Caught Bragging About ‘Legal Resistance’ Against Donald Trump

    This is disturbing.

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is assisting Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. He’s now openly bragging about his successful resistance to the Trump administration in a Medium post. This guy plays a central roll in Mueller’s investigation and he is massively biased against the President.

He has branded himself as a public anti-Trump litigator during the President’s first year, in keeping with the history of hostility between the two men. How is the investigation into Trump supposed to be unbiased and fair when you have someone like this deeply entrenched in it? It can’t be.

The Medium post ran in tandem with a profile of Schneiderman in the New York Times. They touted that Schneiderman had filed 100 legal or administrative challenges to Trump’s administrative policies in his first year in office. These include lawsuits that went against the travel ban and the rescission of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), an Obama-era amnesty policy that grants temporary status to illegal immigrants who entered the country as children.

“We try and protect New Yorkers from those who would do them harm,” Schneiderman told the NYT. “The biggest threat to New Yorkers right now is the federal government, so we’re responding to it.” This guy should not be allowed to consult with Mueller. He has dozens of conflicts of interest here. If I didn’t think Mueller should go before (and I did), I know he needs to go now. Schneiderman is building a political profile to take Trump down. He says he has invested resources and personnel in anti-Trump litigation efforts, while coordinating with other Democrat state attorneys general to challenge the administration in court. It’s subversive.

His Twitter feed is a litany of attacks on President Trump. Mueller retained Schneiderman’s assistance in August in an effort to establish greater leverage against the President and his loyalists. Though the Constitution invests Trump with the power to pardon violations of federal crime, he cannot grant relief from state and local prosecution. This means that anyone that Trump pardons will be criminally prosecuted anyway. So much for Presidential prerogative.

It’s not clear how close Mueller and Schneiderman are cooperating with each other. Unnamed sources close to the investigation say they have shared evidence and discussed potential cases.

Schneiderman was vague on his involvement in the NYT. He said he was “watching (the investigation) from the outside, like everybody else” and aides told the NYT that they halted their investigation of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort’s finances out of deference to Mueller. Sure they did. I hear today that Mueller may be preparing to indict Manafort a second time.

Mueller cozying up to Schnedierman unfortunately makes total sense here. Many of Trump’s associates and business interests are based in New York City, where Schneiderman has power to bring cases. And Schneiderman was looking into Trump well before the 2016 election. The attorney general brought a $40 million civil case against the now-defunct Trump University in 2013 for fraud and illegal business practices. Trump settled the suit for $25 million during the transition. Needless to say Trump and Schneiderman don’t much care for each other.

Trump slammed this guy on Twitter during the Trump University civil case. In a string of October 2014 tweets, he accused the attorney general of wearing Revlon eyeliner and blowing cocaine at a Manhattan hole in the wall. (heh-) Schneiderman denies both charges. I have no idea if there is any truth to that, but we are talking New York here. Just about anything goes there. I do know that Schneiderman and Mueller should not be cooperating with each other because of their massive bias.

Legendary US Intelligence Agent Helped Stop Overthrow Of America By Hillary Clinton

On November 2nd 2016 one of the most legendary and decorated United States intelligence agents came forward on behalf of the intelligence community with a historical message to the American People.

This is the man who inspired the character “Jack Ryan” in the Tom Clancy novels and subsequent hit films starring Harrison Ford like “Patriot Games” and “Clear and Present Danger.”

Before November 2016, Dr. Steve Pieczenik had not been photographed nor shown his face in over 30 years. The Democrats led by Hillary Clinton attempted a coup to permanently seize control of the United States government.

This was not a “military coup” as seen often around the world but a sophisticated well planned out “soft coup” using criminal elements of our government and foreign countries such as China and Saudi Arabia.

Through surrogates such as George Soros and others Democrats rigged the primary and attempted to steal the election away from Donald Trump via millions of illegals voting (3+ million confirmed) as well as mass scale voter/election fraud (5 states confirmed stolen by Hillary Clinton via election fraud). Patriotic “white hat” members of our intelligence community seeing what was happening upheld their oaths to protect America from all enemies foreign AND domestic and unraveled their plans by exposing the truth of what was happening to the American people.

This was the second American Revolution but, unlike the first, this was not fought with guns/weapons but rather through the internet, social media, and Wikileaks.

By the Grace of God Trump’s landslide victory was so huge it overcame the millions of illegal votes for Hillary (soon to be prosecuted). It is now conservatively estimated that Trump won the election by 8 million votes in a landslide not seen since Reagan in 1984.

  59. It is such a different world we live in than the one I imagined as a child. Or did it just start changing so rapidly as I came of age? At 60 yrs old I am still still shocked at how hostile it has become. Now, this is really off topic, but I am telling this to whoever will listen.

My cat died. She was an orphaned calico kitten I adopted when I was on the down-and-out and I fed her cheap kibble. Then, when I was doing a little better added canned food. She developed health problems I thought were related to her diet as kibble is mainly corn and cats are obligate carnivores. I felt very guilty and changed up her diet to some expensive premium cat foods and paid a lot of vet bills. I finally had to euthanize her after she developed cancer on top of other issues, at 14 years of age. It was the hardest thing I had ever done.

A woman at a local rescue group suggested another orphaned calico they had. I adopted her and this time I vowed not to make the same mistakes with her diet. She was having problems with IBSD and the premium canned food did not help. I had food sensitivity testing done. She had numerous food sensitivities, not unusual for an orphan, but there was something more. After trying this and that, I finally came to the conclusion that she was having major problems with a common food additive, Xanthum Gum. This is a gum thickener commonly used in human food, particularly in the vegan diet that has become so popular with the Millennial Generation. But what has me doing a WTF? on this is that it is linked to infant deaths when used in their milk and there really does not seem to be much of a challenge to its use. It has gotten really scary out there. Who is looking out for us? PDT cannot do it all.

The Age of Fake has caused much harm.

…Dominion Energy, the state’s top public service corporation whose bankrolling of Virginia politics has made some lawmakers increasingly uneasy, contributed $50,000 to Northam’s inaugural committee earlier this month, the same amount the company has given to help celebrate the last four incoming governors.
Northam’s committee received an additional $50,000 from the tobacco giant Altria, and took in $25,000 each from Anthem, Capital One, Hunton & Williams and Aetna Life & Casualty, well-known players in the health care, banking, legal and insurance fields.

  63. Trump criticized Manchin and other Democrats for refusing to work with Republicans on issues like health care or taxes. The president said Manchin is all talk but no action, and mentioned that the Democratic senator has contacted him multiple times expressing interest in working together on bipartisan issues, but said Manchin has never followed through.

“Like Joe Manchin,” Trump said in the interview. “He talks. But he doesn’t do anything. He doesn’t do,” Trump said. “‘Hey, let’s get together, let’s do bipartisan.’ I say, ‘Good, let’s go.’ Then you don’t hear from him again.”
When I campaigned for Hillary in the 2008 primary, he PROMISED to endorse the winner of the campaign.

Yet, after Hillary won that election 69-26, he did NOTHING.

    No endorsement.

There was a local attorney who I supported Hillary, but was scared of his shadow. He worked in the administration, and they had him and his wife under the microscope.

I asked him what about this guy Manchin. I told him money and promises of political support talk–and bullshit walks. Which is it? Should I press the issue? He advised against it. He said things do not work the same here as they do where you come from, which at that time was the State of Washington, as it was then. This is not really a democracy, it is a feifdom.

I can see that with Jay Rockafeller, and certainly with the Klansman Robert Byrd. But Manchin was a mystery. Why did he default on a political promise. Typrically, politicians who do that sort of thing do not survive. Well, he has survived. And he has done it again. And again. And again.

So I say forget about this mother fucker. He in nothing but a bullshit artist.

  64. When I had childish notions of jumping into politics, my godfather said if you do that, you will quickly discover who will tell you the truth and who will lie to you. Manchin falls in the latter category. Now that people are expecting this newly elected democrat in Alabama to reach across the aisle notwithstanding party pressure, and a lifelong devotion to left wing causes, just because his voters want it and he will have to stand for election in 2020, I say consider the case of Joe Manchin. He is under the same pressure, being from a red state, but he folds as will this guy, like a cheap watch. You can make book on that, and any argument to the contrary is at best wishful thinking. The calculation they make, these hypocrites, is they can bullshit the voters but not the party. When I watch these bastards in action, the thought occurs, we need not fear the rise of robotics because in the democrat party (and the rinos) it is already here.

  65. “I don’t give a shit, you understand? I just don’t give a shit,” he said in an interview with Charleston Gazette Mail. “Don’t care if I get elected, don’t care if I get defeated, how about that. If they think because I’m up for election, that I can be wrangled into voting for sh*t that I don’t like and can’t explain, they’re all crazy.”

Manchin is seeking re-election in a state that Trump won by a massive margin
    You know what this is?

    Do you?

It is the typical response you get when a liar gets caught in a lie.

    Plus, party line.

    The path of least resistance.

Manchin is a profile in political cowardice.

    Sadly, he is not alone.

  66. The reason I have this harsh response is because too many people are building castles of sand, believing what he says–and ignoring what he does. Which is the imprimatur of a con man.

  67. Oh, by the way, if Machin does not care whether he gets re elected, then why is he running.

And, if the reason he fell through his ass is not party pressure, but the contention that he does not believe in the tax plan, then perhaps he will share with the rest of us, what he does believe in, other than what is expedient and self serving in the moment.

And, above all, if he is a man of high principles, then why does he routinely lie?

I hope he gets his wish, and gets defeated in 2018.

Then he can enter a Catholic seminary, and devote his life to God.

  68. Finally, if Manchin had ANY integrity, he would say this:

I am the senator from West Virginia.

    Previously, I was the governor.

My job is to support the people of my state.

They rely on coal for their livlihood.

Without it they will be destitute.

The leader of my party wants to eliminate all coal jobs.

The leader of the opposition party wants to preserve all coal jobs.

Therefore, like the current governor of my state, I am changing parties.

Instead, he stays in the party, pretends to support his state, but offers nothing but token resistance to a plan which will devastate his state.

He is like a banana republic dictator, for sale to the highest bidder.
