The most important and honest sentence published this year by Big Media appeared in an article about the Obama Dimocrats’ “autopsy” of the 2016 election. We highlight the sentence from the two paragraphs that summarize most everything we have been writing since this website first published over ten years ago:
The findings are significant for a Democratic Party, at a historic low point, that’s trying to figure out how it can win back power. Much of the debate over how to move forward has centered on whether the party should try to win back working-class white voters – who make up the bulk of Obama-Trump voters – or focus instead on mobilizing its base.
Turning out the base, the data suggests, is simply not good enough.
“This idea that Democrats can somehow ignore this constituency and just turn out more of our voters, the math doesn’t work,” Canter said. “We have to do both.”
It’s not to early for us to declare that President Donald J. Trump will be reelected in 2020. We already know his officially trademarked campaign slogan for 2020. The campaign slogan is reported by none other than President Trump himself to be “Keep America Great!” which is a Trumpian way of saying “Stay The Course“.
Compare and contrast what we write today with the analysis of the 2016 election we wrote back in 2013 about Hillary Clinton’s “Muddled Message Mess”. Everything we wrote in that article was exactly on target. We perform the same analysis today. We declare President Trump the winner of the 2020 election today.
Why will President Trump be reelected? Read what we wrote in “Muddled Message Mess” about Hillary Clinton’s not yet declared candidacy for President in 2016. In our update to “Muddled Message Mess” we asked in the very first sentence “Why would anyone who wants to win in 2016 support ObamaCare?” Hillary Clinton supported ObamaCare, became the Obama Third Term, and ignored every bit of advice we provided. Hillary Clinton decided we were wrong when we repeatedly wrote that 2016 was to be a “change” election. Hillary Clinton became the status quo candidate in a change election and that killed any chance she had of winning:
Hillary Clinton 2016 is a muddled message mess. The elemental question a campaign must answer before it begins to even be a dream is at this point answered by Hillary Clinton 2016 with a dust storm of incoherence. [snip]
Hillary Clinton 2016 however is a wagon train immersed in fog headed into quicksand bogs because it has not answered the question a campaign must answer as the chief policy motivation and raison d’etre of the candidate.
The central question for any campaign is whether the electorate must “stay the course!” or whether it is “time for a change!”. It’s one or the other. There is no other question. A merge, a double message won’t sell. A “let’s stay the course but change” concoction has as much appeal and logic as vegetarian pork chops.
“Muddled Message Mess” made it clear years before anyone else wrote it, that 2016 would be a CHANGE election. Election year 2020 will be the opposite of 2016. 2020 will be a status quo election. President Trump will run on “stay the course” because we must “Keep America Great!” It’s a powerful message that helps most all presidents when they run for reelection. “Stay the course” and “Keep America Great! will help reelect President Trump. Already President Trump has raised millions for 2020. Already, ten people, including Michael Glassner, Sean Dollman, and John Pence, are busy collecting data, fundraising, and hosting large rallies in support of President Trump’s 2020 campaign. They have a lot of help.
Obama Dimocrats will make it much easier for President Trump to be reelected. Obama Dimocrats will run on “time for a change” in 2018 and 2020. The screams and howls of “time for a change” from Obama Dimocrats will doom them and reelect President Trump. Why? How?
There is no doubt that Obama Dimocrats are enraged, deranged, invigorated, and will “resist, insist, persist, enlist” not coexist with the Trump victory. And therein writ is their doom starting in 2018:
Anti-Trump energy poses recruiting dilemma for Dems
House Democrats face a recruiting dilemma in 2018 as the liberal backlash to President Trump looks poised to boost progressive candidates in primaries.
Democrats are seeing a groundswell of enthusiasm on the left, but that same energy could complicate the calculus in swing seats and districts carried by Trump that Democrats need to take back the House.
The party will likely need to strike a delicate balance between finding moderate candidates who best match the political profiles of the target districts on issues such as abortion and gun control without alienating its left wing.
“I think it may be helpful in some of the deep red districts or red-of-center districts to have some candidates who may be anti-abortion rights or pro-gun, maybe … more conservative side of some of these social issues,” said Kyle Kondik, the managing editor of campaign analysis site Sabato’s Crystal Ball.
Democrats need to flip two dozen seats to regain the House majority. To win that many seats, they’ll need to put many Trump districts into play. [snip]
“It will be difficult for them to get the candidates they need because their base won’t allow it,” a House GOP strategist said. “They are going to want ideological purity.”
“It will be awfully hard to win those races, because you aren’t competing in New York City.”
Obama Dimocrats will try to dupe the voters in 2018. Obama Dimocrats will run inexperienced candidates who are women and veterans, all without records to be examined. But the primaries will also include full tilt kooks from DailyKooks and the leftist mobs that run riot in the streets.
It will be the Kooks versus the “normals” in the Dimocrat primaries and the Kooks will win every time. Already the top Dim Kook, Tom Perez, has declared that the Obama Dimocrat Party will abort any candidate that does not support abortion on demand. The “normals” will argue that abortion on demand is not viable once the baby is viable – late term abortions a few hours or days before birth will have to be exempt from “abortion on demand”. The Kooks will shout “misogyny!” The “normals” will lose every time.
By the time the general elections in 2018 roll in, the “normals” that have been duped into running as Obama Dimocrats in the primaries will be aborted. The new “normals” in the general election will be Republicans who will run against the Obama full tilt Kooks that won their primaries.
Ordinarily we would write “it doesn’t have to be this way”. We could surmise that if the Democratic Party of old existed, wiser heads would help the “normals” win their primaries and restore some sense to the Democratic Party. Bill Clinton in 1992 ran against the kooks in the party and won. But in 2017, Hillary Clinton has gone full kook and decided to organize a new money milking operation called “Onward Together”.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign slogan, “Stronger Together” was bad enough. It answered nothing about stronger for what? It reminded us of a drunk who drinks coffee. You remain drunk only you are more hyper. “Stronger Together” was the end. Now, “Onward Together”, but where? Into the valley of death.
Ordinarily we would write “it doesn’t have to be this way”. If the Democratic Party of old existed, sensible “normals” in the Democratic Party would admit that ObamaCare was a failure and work with President Trump to fix the mess they created under Barack Obama. If there were any Dimocrat “normals” they would have proposed good and meaningful ways to repeal and replace ObamaCare.
But because the Obama Dimocrat kooks are in control, the idea from the Obama Dimocrat Party is to attack everything that President Trump attempts to do. They reason that what worked for Obama opponents will work for them. But those tactics will fail because ObamaCare is a failure that only gets worst every day.
In blue Maryland, Blue Cross Blue Shield has demanded a 59% increase in premiums for next year. In swing Virginia a 35% increase. The Blue CEO declares ObamaCare is in a death spiral. The Aetna CEO also declared ObamaCare is in a “death spiral”.
If the “normals” existed in the Obama Dimocrat Party they could have profited. Many Trump supporters are not happy with the soggy healthcare proposals passed by the House. Many more Trump supporters are not happy with the continuing resolution to finance the government recently passed. Many Trump supporters understand the limitations Trump was under with the continuing resolution and see the Trump chess game as to budgets, and tax reform, but still want the entire political world to change in an instant. If there were “normals” in the Obama Dimocrat Party they could damage President Trump by wooing normal voters. But there are no “normals” in the Obama Dimocrat Party to woo normal Americans.
There are only kooks left in the Obama Dimocrat Party. That’s why a Trump hater like Marc Thiessen can say “The past 100 days have been a disaster – for Democrats”. According to the Post-ABC News poll, only 2 percent of Americans who voted for Trump regret their votes, while fully 96 percent say it was the right thing to do. Former Bill Clinton pollster Doug Schoen understands that the strong bond maintained by President Trump with his supporters is a potent source of political power for 2018 and 2020. The smart Salena Zito observes that The media assault on Trump could win him a second term. At the New York Times, bad news for Trump opponents is spun as good news:
Biden said he was prepared to storm the country to help revive the party, and boasted of his comfort in wooing areas that voted for Trump. [snip]
In a largely leaderless party, two distinct groups are emerging, defined mostly by age and national stature. On one side are three potential candidates approaching celebrity status who would all be older than 70 on Election Day: Biden, and Sens. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Bernie Sanders of Vermont. [snip]
Sanders, the runner-up in the 2016 primaries, may loom largest over the next Democratic race. He is already planning his first return trip to early-voting Iowa in July, and plans to be the keynote speaker at the convention of a social justice organization that works closely with his political group, Our Revolution. [snip]
Competing against the Democrats’ senior cohort is a large and relatively shapeless set of younger candidates who span the ideological spectrum: governors, senators, mayors, wealthy executives and even members of the House. [snip]
In the Senate alone, as much as a quarter of the Democrats’ 48-member caucus are thought to be giving at least a measure of consideration to the 2020 race, among them Cory Booker of New Jersey, Kirsten Gillibrand of New York, Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota and Kamala Harris of California. All are closer to 40 than 80.
Bernie Sanders is a socialist kook who is considered the front-runner for 2020. He’s not even a member of the party!
On immigration and other issues the winning has only begun. President Trump did not get all the monies he wanted from the continuing resolution on immigration, but he got what he needed. President Trump can do a lot with a little. President Trump comes in ahead of schedule and under budget. Notice how President Trump, via Executive Order, will regularly release to the public information on illegal immigrants and crime. The first report declares that of the 45,493 inmates currently in Bureau of Prisons custody only 3,939 are Americans, including those naturalized. The vast majority of those are soon to be deported because they are in this country illegally.
Not much attention will be paid to the illegal immigrants in American prisons for crimes committed here. For now. But in elections in 2018 and the elections in 2020, this information will come into sharp focus. Obama Dimocrats will side with the lawbreakers. President Trump will side with Americans.
On ObamaCare, President Trump only has to wait as ObamaCare collapses more and more with each passing day, all on its own. By summer, President Trump will begin the argument that targets Obama Dimocrats as uncaring political profiteers willing to hurt “normals” for their own political benefit at the polls. That argument will be repeated on issue after issue. President Trump will win for the “normals”. The kooks? The kooks will continue to resist, insist, persist, enlist and ride off into the sunset, off the cliffs of reality.
Why will President Trump win in 2018 and 2020? Because President Trump is building a Great America based on reality, not fantasy. The Kooks? The Kooks are busy having fun with those fun gadgets called fidget spinners, getting nowhere fast.
In 2020 President Trump will be reelected, and America will be Great, again.
