Trump’s Chess Castle, Dims Pickett’s Charge: Al-Sisi, #Gorsuch #Filibuster, #SusanRice, China, North Korea, Freedom Caucus

Update II: Lots of good analysis produced on the Susan Rice story. There’s this one at NeverTrump site NRO by the smart Andrew McCarthy who understands Trump was Watergated. McCarthy states that Rice unmasked names not because she did not know who the masked names were, nor to “investigate” because the White House does not investigate – F.B.I. C.I.A. N.S.A. investigate, but rather to unmask specific names to leakers down the line who would not know the identities of the masked names.

Likewise, NeverTrump lunatic headquarters Red State exposes CNN refusal to take the Susan Rice/Barack Obama Watergating of Trump seriously because their lead reporter (Jim Sciutto) is an old crony employee of both Obama during the Susan Rice era and her corrupt Big Media husband who is president of ABC News.

Our favorite commentary comes via the New York Post because they tie the Russia distraction and the Obama/Susan Rice Watergating of President Donald J. Trump:

Fresh evidence the Russia ‘scandal’ is a Team Obama operation

The Russia Big Media distraction is produced, directed, and acted by Barack Obama thugs. That’s why Barack Obama ran away to hide in French Polynesia for a month in mid-March. Obama doesn’t want to answer questions now that he is caught like a rat. He knew it was coming once Trump tweeted on March 4. It’s not just to get away from the ogre Michelle.

The lesson: don’t mess with President Trump. PDT got it right. Don’t play chess with the master. Don’t.

Update: Big Media will not fry Rice. Big Media thus far has ignored the Susan Rice abuse of power story because it directly implicates Big Media. Don’t forget Susan Rice is married to Ian Cameron, the executive producer of ABC News. Rice’s deputy was Ben Rhodes. Ben Rhodes is the brother of CBS News President David Rhodes.

Big Media is the enemy!

Chess players understand what President Trump is up to – he’s castling. The dullest amateur military historian can see what the Obama Dims are up to too.

This first week of April finds President Trump making large moves on the chess board. There’s a big meeting with massive ramifications, which we have been writing about for a long time, regarding Egypt. There is the massive move to confirm Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. On North Korea and war, we also see a massive move in a meeting this week with the President of China. There’s the Susan Rice revelation today too. It’s all big moves.

On the Obama Dimocrat side, military historians will recognize the strategy. It’s a civil war reenactment of Pickett’s Charge.

Because it is so simply stupid as strategy, let’s start with Obama Dimocrats. Their strategy against President Trump is exactly like the ill-fated, obviously stupid, Pickett’s Charge:

Pickett’s Charge was the culmination of the Battle of Gettysburg. Taking place on July 3, 1863, the third and final day of battle, it involved an infantry assault of approximately 15,000 Confederate soldiers against Union Major General George Meade’s troops’ position along Cemetery Ridge, manned by some 6,500 Federals. The assault would take the nine brigades of Confederate soldiers over three-quarter mile of open ground susceptible to cannon fire the entire time. The ill-fated assault resulted in over 6,000 Confederate casualties and marked the end of the battle of Gettysburg as well as Lee’s last invasion of the north.

That exactly describes what Obama Dimocrats are up to on the Gorsuch Supreme Court fight. They are going to CHARGE!!!! against President Trump in “open ground susceptible to cannon fire the entire time” for no discernible victory scenario. Already the Senate Judiciary Committee has approved the Gorsuch nomination 11-9 on a purely partisan vote. The fight now moves to the full Senate.

The Obama Dimocrat left, unlike the not-too-bright right, is correct in their analysis that Neil Gorsuch on the Supreme Court poses a death threat against their interests and must be fought with everything they’ve got. But a Pickett’s Charge assault is not a “with everything they’ve got” strategy, it is merely mass suicide.

The result as we have repeatedly written is that Obama Dimocrats will lose their Pickett’s filibuster against Gorsuch and every Supreme Court fight thereafter. This will lead to President Trump given a completely free strategic hand for his next Supreme Court picks.

Why are Obama Dimocrats charging across a vast open field, without political cover, constantly under fire, with no hope of victory, with only immediate and long term defeat possible? Because the left has gone mad, entirely hopelessly crazy. Anyone who read the first of the series of L.A. Times editorials this weekend sees the crazy.

The L.A. Times calls President Trump an “unprepared and unsuited” doofus who can’t get anything done while at the same time in full panic attack about all the “damage” President Trump has already done. Both of these allegations cannot be simultaneously correct. The L.A. Times is deranged as can be seen by it’s scenario about what can be done to politically assassinate President Trump:

Where will this end? Will Trump moderate his crazier campaign positions as time passes? Or will he provoke confrontation with Iran, North Korea or China, or disobey a judge’s order or order a soldier to violate the Constitution? Or, alternately, will the system itself — the Constitution, the courts, the permanent bureaucracy, the Congress, the Democrats, the marchers in the streets — protect us from him as he alienates more and more allies at home and abroad, steps on his own message and creates chaos at the expense of his ability to accomplish his goals?

That deranged paragraph is actually a good bit of counter analysis. It actually explains a great deal of what the left is up to. This leftist blueprint sees that President Trump will not let the problems of Iran and North Korea fester but will instead take action. The blueprint plan of the totalitarian left is also calling for “the courts” and “the permanent bureaucracy” along with Dimocrats in Congress and kooks in the streets to attack President Trump in any and every way possible.

Which brings us to President Donald J. Trump and what he is up to.

President Trump is playing political chess. As in the board game of kings, first come the opening moves. In the opening moves chess pieces are deployed tactically to achieve strategic aims. Some pawns are sacrificed for the greater good. Then when all the opening moves are exhausted, the King castles.

Castling is a defensive and offensive move which often signals the battle is about to begin. This week the battle has been engaged.

First came the well-timed White House revelation that Susan Rice is the Obama thug who “unmasked” for political purposes:

Top Obama Adviser Sought Names of Trump Associates in Intel

White House lawyers last month learned that the former national security adviser Susan Rice requested the identities of U.S. persons in raw intelligence reports on dozens of occasions that connect to the Donald Trump transition and campaign, according to U.S. officials familiar with the matter. [snip]

The National Security Council’s senior director for intelligence, Ezra Cohen-Watnick, was conducting the review, according to two U.S. officials who spoke with Bloomberg View on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss it publicly. In February Cohen-Watnick discovered Rice’s multiple requests to unmask U.S. persons in intelligence reports that related to Trump transition activities. He brought this to the attention of the White House General Counsel’s office, who reviewed more of Rice’s requests and instructed him to end his own research into the unmasking policy.

The intelligence reports were summaries of monitored conversations — primarily between foreign officials discussing the Trump transition, but also in some cases direct contact between members of the Trump team and monitored foreign officials. One U.S. official familiar with the reports said they contained valuable political information on the Trump transition such as whom the Trump team was meeting, the views of Trump associates on foreign policy matters and plans for the incoming administration.

This leak is a defensive and offensive chess move. It comes as the Supreme Court fight heats up and should tangentially aid the case being made for a Gorsuch elevation to the court by undermining the Obama Dimocrats. This report not only defensively vindicates President Trump’s assertion that he was being surveilled, it also exposes Susan Rice and the Obama thugs as the snoops and leakers who sought to politically damage President Trump, in an offense move.

This castling report mocks Susan Rice’s “I know nothing about this” assertions on PBS in March. Back then Susan Rice also asserted “I was surprised to see reports from Chairman Nunes on that account today.” Susan Rice might have been surprised that Chairman Nunes told the truth for all to hear. Susan Rice and all Americans now can see that Chairman Nunes handled himself very well. Contrary to what Big Media reports, Chairman Nunes “strange behavior” was not strange at all:

It emerged last week that he traveled to the White House last month, the night before he made an explosive allegation about Trump transition officials caught up in incidental surveillance. At the time he said he needed to go to the White House because the reports were only on a database for the executive branch. It now appears that he needed to view computer systems within the National Security Council that would include the logs of Rice’s requests to unmask U.S. persons.

It had nothing to do with “Russia”. The Watergating of Trump by Obama thugs started before President Trump was even nominated.

It’s only going to get worse for Obama Dimocrats and only better for those who defended President Trump as Senator Grassley is on the job and investigating Andrew McCabe the #2 of the F.B.I.

Nunes vindicated, Trump vindicated.

So all that talk about disarray and wild charges from President Trump are now proven to be that the “wild” charges are accurate and the “disarray” a tactic to expose culprits.

It’s the same call when it comes to the “wild” “disarray” on healthcare. It’s President Trump playing normal, regular, political chess, albeit very smartly. President Trump knows exactly what he is doing when he attacks even those from his own political party:

GOP leaders, remember Trump ran against your pieties … and won [snip]

President Trump acts decisively, reflecting his entrepreneurially background, and expects similar alacrity from Congress. The American people entrusted the GOP with a level of power not seen in nearly a century and they expect results. This is especially true of the party’s most loyal supporters who are tired of excuses from their elected representatives. That sense of frustration, even betrayal, set the stage for the accession to power of Donald Trump.

Remember that Republican voters categorically rejected the party’s dream team during the primary in favor of an outsider who happily overturned many conservative pieties. Not to put too fine a point on it, but Donald Trump ran against the congressional leadership of his own party and won.

For those confused about President Trump unfairly attacking the Freedom Caucus for righteously opposing the dreadful ObamaCare repeal/replace bill be confused no longer. Trump is castling here too. President Trump has two trains running and he can jump back and forth at any time of his own choosing. President Trump is a smart chess player playing chess on both trains. That’s why President Trump will attack NeverTrumpers like Amash of the Freedom Caucus and threaten primary challenges while also sweet-talking and golfing with Senator Rand Paul who is an ally of the Freedom Caucus.

That’s all domestic policy chess moves. The stunning stuff in on foreign policy.

President Trump today met with President Al-Sisi of Egypt. Barack Obama trashed Al-Sisi and wanted him removed. President Trump plays chess with Al-Sisi.

Since January 1, 2015 it was obvious to us that President Al-Sisi is the solution to the problems of the middle east. It started with that excellent New Year’s Day speech. Al-Sisi understands that Muslims have to stop Muslim terrorism. By March of 2015, it was even clearer that Al-Sisi should be a strong American partner alongside Israel.

In March of 2015 we wrote about Al-Sisi yet again. It was election eve in Israel. Obama was attacking Netanyahu. What did Al-Sisi do at this crucial moment in history as Netanyahu faced potential defeat and Barack Obama used State Department funds to attack Netanyahu?

Al-Sisi declared he spoke with Netanyahu “a lot” thereby providing a great deal of political cover for the embattled Israeli Prime Minister at a pivotal moment. Al-Sisi declared Barack Obama had “turned his back on Egypt”. Al-Sisi asked for American help and a partnership. Barack Obama trashed Al-Sisi and would not even meet nor talk with him. Barack Obama imposed military and economic sanctions against Egypt. Al-Sisi denounced the very idea of Iran having nuclear weapons. Al-Sisi defended Israeli interests and promoted regional stability. In short, Al-Sisi proved he was a friend of the West and the United States and therefore Barack Obama attacked Al-Sisi.

In that moment of Treachery and Danger, Al-Sisi proved he cared more about American interests and Israel than Barack Obama.

We have always thought that peace in the middle east will require a well-funded (by Saudi billions a year) Egyptian military allied with America to block Iran and Muslim terrorists. We suspect that President Trump shares our views. That’s why today, President Trump met with President Al-Sisi and on Wednesday for the second time hosts Jordanian King Abdullah II. Later in the month President Trump will meet with Mahmoud Abbas.

These meetings are a warning to not only the “Palestinian” leadership but also to Iran. Watch out fellas! It’s President Donald J. Trump you are dealing with, not weakling Barack Hussein Obama. Trump is about to castle on your azz.

President Trump’s chess moves and castling are most apparent in the Asia front. This Thursday and Friday President Trump meets with the Chinese President Xi Jinping. Most observers, including President Trump himself, expect these meetings to be “difficult”.

On trade, the issues will be difficult. But in chess parlance and analysis, Trump is castling for his meeting with China on North Korea.

We recently discussed the likelihood of all out war against North Korea or at the very least a powerful attack. We suspect the meeting this week with the Chinese President is President Trump castling before his attack on the North Korean dictatorship which threatens the United States.

Consider what we wrote then as a play-by-play description of the chess moves by President Trump.

First came the “visit” by Secretary of State T-Rex Tillerson to South Korea in which he stated “Let me be very clear: the policy of strategic patience has ended.”

A few weeks earlier, General “Mad Dog” Mattis, also in South Korea warned:

Speaking after talks at the defence ministry with his South Korean counterpart Han Min-koo, Mr Mattis told reporters that “any attack on the United States, or our allies, will be defeated, and any use of nuclear weapons would be met with a response that would be effective and overwhelming“.

North Korea conducted its fifth test of a nuclear device last year, and claims it is capable of carrying out a nuclear attack on the US, though experts are still unconvinced its technology has progressed that far.

It has also said in recent weeks that it has a new intercontinental ballistic missile, capable of reaching the US mainland, which it is prepared to test launch at any time.

The latest North Korean missile launch has been submarine based. An intercontinental ballistic missile might not be necessary for North Korea to attack the United States (presumably California or Hawaii – both states Trump lost in his election).

President Trump does not have to lecture the Chinese president on any of this. The Chinese president knows all this and knows that under Obama nothing was done to stop North Korea. But, it is President Trump now. President Donald J. Trump.

President Trump is about to tell the Chinese President to prepare to pay for food and homes for 25 million refugees from North Korea. Just as immigration is the #1 nexus issue for President Trump, China might have an immigration crisis soon too. “Do something to stop North Korea Mr. Chinese President, or else!

It’s chess, American style. President Trump just castled. Get ready to rumble.

North Korean Defector Tells Lester Holt ‘World Should Be Ready’

SEOUL, South Korea — A senior North Korean defector has told NBC News that the country’s “desperate” dictator is prepared to use nuclear weapons to strike the United States and its allies.

Thae Yong Ho is the most high profile North Korean defector in two decades, meaning he is able to give a rare insight into the secretive, authoritarian regime.

According to Thae, North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un is “desperate in maintaining his rule by relying on his [development of] nuclear weapons and ICBM.” He was using an acronym for intercontinental ballistic missiles — a long range rocket that in theory would be capable of hitting the U.S.

“Once he sees that there is any kind of sign of a tank or an imminent threat from America, then he would use his nuclear weapons with ICBM,” he added in an exclusive interview on Sunday.

Thae was living in London and serving as North Korea’s deputy ambassador to the United Kingdom when he and his family defected to South Korea and were announced to the world in August.

He was not directly involved in North Korea’s weapons program but believes his country “has reached a very significant level of nuclear development.”

North Korea is estimated to have upward of eight nuclear weapons but has not demonstrated the ability to attach them to a long-range rocket, an ICBM, capable of hitting the U.S.

Analysts are unsure exactly how close the regime is to achieving this aim, but a senior official told NBC News in January that his government was ready to test-fire an ICMB “at any time, at any place.”

Adm. Scott Swift, commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, told NBC News that American officials were particularly troubled by this latest threat.

“They have the nuclear capability — they’ve demonstrated that,” he said. “And then, where they’re going with the miniaturization of that, whether they can actually weaponize a missile, that’s what’s driving the current concern.”

Thae’s interview with NBC News comes against a backdrop of rising tensions surrounding North Korea, which has significantly increased its missile and nuclear tests under Kim’s rule.

President Donald Trump told the Financial Times newspaper on Monday that “something had to be done” about North Korea. This came after Defense Secretary James Mattis said the country “has got to be stopped” and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said military action was “on the table.”

“It does feel more dangerous — I’ll give you three reasons,” according to Adm. James Stavridis, an NBC News analyst and dean of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in Massachusetts. “One is [Kim’s] own precarious situation in command of the nation. Number two is the instability in South Korea. We’ve just seen the South Korean president indicted, arrested, and incarcerated.”

“And, number three, a new and more aggressive American foreign policy coming from Washington,” he added.

    Watch those submarines California.

Thursday is the day most likely to see the fireworks on the Senate floor. Under a likely scenario, senators in the morning could vote on the motion to limit debate on the Gorsuch nomination, falling maybe a handful of votes short of the 60 needed under current rules and precedents.

Then, in an echo of what played out in 2013, McConnell could make a point of order that the threshold for breaking a filibuster is a simple majority. The presiding officer, likely President Pro Tempore Orrin G. Hatch of Utah, would rule on the question.

If the presiding senator rules in accordance with precedent, then McConnell could appeal the question, with a vote on whether or not to abide by the ruling. A majority of senators voting “no” would have the effect of reducing the vote threshold. The exact order of events for Thursday may not be telegraphed.

  3. Conservative Treehouse was wrong. We were right. Filibuster is on! Glory, Glory, Hallelujah:

  4. Dems are really despicable blocking Gorsuch. He is taking over an conservative seat and he is likely far less controversial than the late Justice Scalia. Out country is broken and I am afraid these divisions will b=only get worse.

2,070 Refugees Arrived in U.S. in March; 54% Drop From February

The number of refugees admitted to the United States dropped in March to its lowest monthly tally of the current fiscal year, even as the implementation of President Trump’s latest immigration executive order continues to be held up by federal courts.

In a continuing declining trend, 2,070 refugees arrived during March, an approximately 54.79 percent drop from the 4,579 recorded in February, according to State Department Refugee Processing Center data.

The number has steadily declined in FY 2017, from 9,945 refugees admitted to the U.S. last October, to 8,355 in November, 7,371 in December and 6,777 in January.

Of the 2,070 refugees resettled in March, the largest contingents came from Somalia (335), Syria (282), Burma (278), Iraq (192), Democratic Republic of Congo (184), Ukraine (167) and Iran (101).

Moving in the right direction. Once Gorsuch is confirmed, the court obstruction is over and these numbers will improve even more.

  6. I don’t care for her style at all, but seems Megyn Kelley knew the right time to leave Fox.

  7. Admin.

    Superb analysis.

    Trump is playing chess.

    The dims are playing poker.

Effective political strategy is chess—not poker.

In times past, the dims have played chess.

But the liberal state has now exceeded the limits of its logic.

The only way out for them was the destruction of the nation state, the loss of its currency, open borders etc.

That was the only way out of the corner they had put the county in.

Thus, their bet was to hell wit the country, as long as we survive.

But a huge part of the poker game going forward is getting rid of Comey.

As long as he is there it will be impossible to drain the swamp.

He is a protector of the swamp.

What I see in his testimony is something a federal judge chastised an opponent of mine for in a conference call years ago

    His exact words?

There is a level of nuance and evasion in your commentary which I find deeply troubling.

    Et tu Comey?

You posted a link to the letter issued by Grassley to McCabe concerning the FBI

The relevant text is set forth below.

Even if Comey is clean–which as I have stated repeatedly he is not.

If it turns out that McCabe, with his checkered career which smacks of pay to play

Used his position to destroy Trump and save Hillary while his wife received $700,000 from Clintons’s closest ally, McAliff

Then how can Comey survive, this being his hand picked number 2.

As President, Trump has the legal authority to fire Comey.

The political ramifications are a factor, but not the only one.

The dims blame Comey, along with everyone else but themselves, for the election they lost.

It will be hard for them to defend him as a seeker of wisdom and truth

Thus, if McCabe goes down, I think that will be the swan song for the Pope as well.

The most noteworthy thing about Grassley’s letter is its focus on McCabe. Grassley noted that McCabe is already under investigation by the FBI’s inspector general for playing a top role in the Hillary Clinton email investigation even though McCabe’s wife accepted nearly $700,000 in political donations arranged by a close Clinton friend, Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, for her run for state senate in Virginia.

“While Mr. McCabe recused himself from public corruption cases in Virginia…he failed to recuse himself from the Clinton email investigation,” Grassley wrote, “despite the appearance of a conflict created by his wife’s campaign accepting $700,000 from a close Clinton associate during the investigation.”

Now, Grassley wrote, there could be a problem with McCabe’s participation in the Trump-Russia probe. If McCabe had a conflict being too close to Clinton, how could he then investigate Trump? A key passage from Grassley’s letter:

Mr. McCabe’s appearance of a partisan conflict of interest relating to Clinton associates only magnifies the importance of those questions. That is particularly true if Mr. McCabe was involved in approving or establishing the FBI’s reported arrangement with Mr. Steele, or if Mr. McCabe vouched for or otherwise relied on the politically-funded dossier in the course of the investigation. Simply put, the American people should know if the FBI’s second-in-command relied on Democrat-funded opposition research to justify an investigation of the Republican presidential campaign.

Grassley followed with a dozen questions, all targeted at McCabe. Has McCabe been involved “in any capacity” in investigating alleged collusion between TrumpWorld and Russia? Has McCabe been involved in surveillance or intercepts of any sort in the case? Has McCabe “made any representations to prosecutors or judges” regarding the Steele dossier? Has McCabe had any interactions with Steele himself? Did McCabe brief anyone in the Obama administration on the Trump-Russia investigation? Was McCabe ever authorized by the FBI to speak to the media about the case? Did he ever do so without authorization? Has anyone in the FBI raised questions about McCabe’s possible Clinton-Trump conflict of interest? Has any complaint been filed about it? Has anyone at the FBI recommended or requested that McCabe recuse himself from the Russia-Trump investigation?

  8. Correction: “there is a level of nuance and evasion in YOUR ANSWERS TO MY QUESTIONS which I find deeply troubling”

That was his exact quote—it is all coming back to me now. . . .

  9. It finally dawned on me who Comey was alluding to during this cross examination by Gowdy, when he said he would have to check with others before he could release additional information. Who were those others? Most likely, seeing what we have seen since the, the others he was referring to were his criminal defense lawyers who are preparing him for the possibility that when this mystery is finally unraveled he will be one of the key figures who gets indicted.

  10. I have always liked Grassley, he’s a Pit Bull. If allowed to investigate anything to its fullest, he’s the man for the job.

  11. New York cops ignore De Blasio on illegals:

NYPD alerts feds to Criminal Court appearances of immigrants facing deportation despite ‘sanctuary’ vow

The NYPD alerts federal immigration agents to the Criminal Court appearances of immigrants facing deportation, the Daily News has learned.

As a “sanctuary city,” the city currently only complies with Immigration and Customs Enforcement “detainer” orders to hold a defendant until federal agents can take custody in cases involving violent or serious felonies.

But in the process of verifying warrants against a defendant, officials said the NYPD will contact relevant law enforcement, including ICE, thereby alerting the agency to an immigrant’s upcoming appearance in a city courtroom.

Advocates slammed the practice, saying it amounts to “collusion” with immigration officials that goes against the spirit of Mayor de Blasio’s pledge that the city will remain a sanctuary city.

Public defenders representing two men in ICE’s cross hairs during separate court appearances in Queens told The News they were stunned to learn the NYPD communicated with the federal agency about both men before they appeared before a judge. [snip]

In both cases, screenshots show the city did not comply with ICE “detainer” orders. Instead, immigration agents just showed up to court. [snip]

“I think it really is outrageous,” said Lori Zeno, co-founder and deputy director of Queens Law Associates. “We’re supposed to be a sanctuary city. What does it mean if our own court system is participating in turning folks in to ICE?

How dare the police follow the law!

Trump Cracks Down on H-1B Visa Program That Feeds Silicon Valley

The U.S. administration began to deliver on President Donald Trump’s campaign promise to crack down on a work visa program that channels thousands of skilled overseas workers to companies across the technology industry.

Fed up with a program it says favors foreign workers at the expense of Americans, the Trump administration rolled out a trio of policy shifts. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services agency on Friday made it harder for companies to bring overseas tech workers to the U.S. using the H-1B work visa. On Monday, the agency issued a memo laying out new measures to combat what it called “fraud and abuse” in the program. The Justice Department also warned employers applying for the visas not to discriminate against U.S. workers.

Trump campaigned on a promise to overhaul the immigration system, calling for companies to hire more Americans instead of outsourcing jobs to countries with cheaper labor or bringing in lower-paid foreign workers. [snip]

The Economic Policy Institute estimated there were about 460,000 people working on H-1B visas in 2013.

This week’s moves weren’t the administration’s first attempts to adjust the program. Last month, the immigration department suspended a system that expedited visa processing for certain skilled workers who paid extra. [snip]

The new guidelines released Friday require additional information for computer programmers applying for H-1B visas to prove the jobs are complicated and require more advanced knowledge and experience. It’s effective immediately, so it will change how companies apply for the visas in an annual lottery process that begins Monday. The changes don’t explicitly prohibit applications for a specific type of job. Instead, they bring more scrutiny to those for computer programmers doing the simplest jobs.

“This is a step in the right direction in terms of tightening up the eligibility,” said Ron Hira, an associate professor at Howard University, who has done extensive research on the H-1B program. “You’re going to have to beef up your argument for why you need this person.

  13. The timing of the Susan Rice imbroglio is very interesting. Big media was sitting on it so Cernovich jumped them and goosed it along by releasing what he had. Then Fox who had been working on it went full out giving their investigative reporter real time on air. Eli Lake who had been sitting on his information knew it was time to jump or he was completely scooped. Democrats on the Hill are caught by surprise and the usual Obama suspects go even quieter.

This sucked all of the oxygen out of the room for the Senate Dems’ Grand Gesture. They were hoping to dominate the news cycle with their idiotic and base pleasing “filibuster”. Their speeches were all written, tv time scheduled, and then this happens and no one is looking. Bummer! Now they have to defend that dope Susan Rice. Or do they? She seems really, really caught.

And while the circus is running full tilt, everyone is seemingly diverted by these two clown shows, Trump is cracking down on immigration “irregularities”. OMG! Cinco de Mayo is being canceled. The irregular immigrants are afraid of being rounded up at the parades and Mexican patriotic speeches and not just at the state criminal court buildings and parking lots and Google offices. Not nice!
    Lucky Trump.

The stupids that depend on illegals to make a living in the criminal justice system are ignoring the practicalities of NYPD clearing their dockets, backlogs, extra time spent in court or running down illegals by the simple phone call to ICE. NYPD has to spend too much of their time on these CRIMINALS. They know where they are SUPPOSED to be at a certain court time so they tip off ICE who gets rid of part of their workload. What’s not for cops to like and why wouldn’t they do this even on the sly against the moron mayor’s orders. And of course bi-lingual public defenders, court officials, judges, translators, parole officers, etc would object to THEIR full employment situation being eradicated. Their services won’t be needed if enough are deported. The illegal alien industry is feeling the strain. Losing clients and next money. Cause and effect via Jeff Sessions. Cut off the money!

“Col. (Ret.) James Waurishuk, an NSC veteran and former deputy director for intelligence at the U.S. Central Command, told TheDCNF that many hands had to be involved throughout the Obama administration to launch such a political spying program.”

“The surveillance initially is the responsibility of the National Security Agency,” Waurishuk said. “They have to abide by this guidance when one of the other agencies says, ‘we’re looking at this particular person which we would like to unmask.’”

“The lawyers and counsel at the NSA surely would be talking to the lawyers and members of counsel at CIA, or at the National Security Council or at the Director of National Intelligence or at the FBI,” he said. “It’s unbelievable of the level and degree of the administration to look for information on Donald Trump and his associates, his campaign team and his transition team. This is really, really serious stuff.”

Michael Doran, former NSC senior director, told TheDCNF Monday that “somebody blew a hole in the wall between national security secrets and partisan politics.” This “was a stream of information that was supposed to be hermetically sealed from politics and the Obama administration found a way to blow a hole in that wall.”

The rollout of the information, extent to which it happened, who was involved, for the spite of Obama and ruination of Trump and associates, and how early it began is masterful. The media, Dems, GOPe, and the various Congressional committees can’t wrap their heads around it, get a message together much less spin, nor get ahead of the story. At this rate Pickett’s Charge on Gorsush is not even going to be noticed because D-Day against Obama (asleep in Tahiti) will be in full bombardment.

  16. another little tidbit to connect the dots…CNN is becoming complicit in the cover up

    Jim Sciutto
    ✔ ‎@jimsciutto

Just in: “The idea that Ambassador Rice improperly sought the identities of Americans is false.” – person close to Rice tells me

    7:53 PM – 3 Apr 2017

For the record, Jim Sciutto worked in the Obama administration. It is a fact not mentioned in Sciutto’s CNN biography, but it certainly should be.

    Two things about this tweet:

    1. Note the careful language – The anonymous source says “improperly sought.” It likely means Lake’s reporting is valid and Rice did in fact, make requests to unmask. The question of whether it was proper or not remains to be seen.

    2. The “person close to Rice” is likely somebody Sciutto knows – Before Sciutto worked at the White House, he worked at ABC. Do you know who he worked with at ABC? Ian Officer Cameron. Do you know who’s married to Cameron? Susan Rice.

As the Church Lady would say…”How convenient!”

    Sciutto later tweeted:

    Jim Sciutto

Just in: “The idea that Ambassador Rice improperly sought the identities of Americans is false.” – person close to Rice tells me

    Jim Sciutto

Statement cont’d: “There is nothing unusual abt making these requests when serving as a sr. national security official, whether Dem or GOP”

    9:41 PM – 3 Apr 2017

Well except for the part where she denied knowing at all about it.

CNN would be wise to have a different reporter work on the story. We don’t know for sure if Cameron is Sciutto’s source, but he’s likely not going to say anything. The use of an anonymous source to “ho-hum” the story is not where CNN should go especially since Jim Scuitto is tied to the Obama administration and to Susan Rice.

(me) I saw a clip on Fox of Don Lemon last night on CNN essentially just saying this Susan Rice story is false and he was not going to distract his audience with this info
and that was that, he would not be covering it…he just dismissed the whole thing as a distraction from PDT’s collusion with Putin

    April 3, 2017 at 9:51 pm

Gosh, it’s been a long time since I felt like America was winning. Feels great!

    Amen to that!!! 😀

  19. and isn’t this interesting…the dots continue to be connected and engulf ABC…

    …isn’t this convenient…

“Perhaps ABC isn’t covering the story because Susan Rice’s husband, Ian Cameron, is an ABC News Executive Producer?”

(me) BM is complicit in the cover up

  20. same wavelength…

how do we indict BM? subpeana them? is there anything that can be done to show the scale of the sabatoge of PDT…

  21. You had this Eli Lake on who was one of the newspeople who broke the story, saying that it may not have been illegal what they did but it was legal it pointed to the need for reform.

COP OUT! if this guy thinks all we need is another study group and another law to deal with what is obviously malem in se, then what is the use. If he cannot discern evil when he sees it, rather than reacting so clinically then what use is he.

The first question whenever government uses its vast resources to spy on people, to unmask their identities, and spread what is raw intelligence, which includes rankest hearsay and the spawn of the gutter to 17 agencies: was there a legitimate government purpose, i.e. national security or criminal activity, and here there was no evidence of that other than these unfounded allegations of Russian collusion which was the pretext used–if there was any evidence of that–and there was proof that Rice knew it at the time then she and he co conspirators would have at least a fig leaf to hide behind. Whereas here there is no such evidence, and there will be no such evidence, given Clapper’s statements to that effect and the fact that nothing has come forward, despite the most intensive easter egg hunt by big media in history.

So when someone says it is no crime for government engage in political spying on adversaries, I say that too is a crime, which warrants indictment. That is a much a crime as the leak, because it must be seen as part of an OVERALL CONSPIRACY to leak that information. This is why Lake is dead wrong. If you look at the umasking as a single event, it may not be unlawful. That is where is in his simplistic analysis. But if you view it as an essential element in a conspiracy, you have got her dead to right, And I will guarantee you Rhoades is up to his neck in it as well. I have always believed Rice was a fool and a knave, more so the latter now.

  22. the fact that they, BM, are withholding information and that in all likelihood many of the “LEAKS” were given to them certainly appears to show COLLUSION BETWEEN the O admin and BM to take PDT out

O admin hands off damaging info on PDT to BM that they receive from spying on PDT

    crime? criminal? complicit!

  23. MSM is trying to bury/ignore Rice story. What they have still failed to learn is that Trump is much, much smarter than they are (you don’t get to the the top of Manhattan real estate unless you are a top of the food chain shark) and he isn’t GWB, Romney or any other typical GOP establishment sap. He isn’t going to roll over and show his belly — if it’s gotten this far, you can be sure grand juries and indictments are near. The MSM won’t be able to bury it.

  24. Furthermore, the beauty of the conspiracy doctrine is that so long as there is a common unlawful purpose it is not necessary for the right hand to know what the left hand is doing. In other words, even if Rice did not know that the confidential information she unmasked did not know that she or someone else would leak it to the deep mole who worked for Priebus Katie Walsh who has since been fired for it, who leaked it to this NYT knave Habbbbbbermannn, or through a different channel to the Saint of WashPo-the tut tut tut David Igantius, Rice would still be guilty as hell.

CNN Goes on Rampage Against Susan Rice Bombshell, Instructs Viewers to Ignore Story
‘We will not aid and abet the people trying to misinform you’

Since news broke Monday that the Obama Administration’s National Security Adviser, Susan Rice, directed the “unmasking” of NSA intercepts of Trump associates, CNN has raced to shoot down the blockbuster report.

CNN Tonight’s Don Lemon went so far as to announce he would ignore the news at all costs.

While interviewing a Democratic congressman, CNN’s Chris Cuomo claimed it was “demonstrably untrue” Rice sought surveillance of the Trump team, even as that’s exactly what yesterday’s reports prove.

Over the last 24 hours, the network has also repeatedly called on its chief national security correspondent, Jim Sciutto, to dismiss the reports as a non-story; Sciutto has even excused Rice claiming ignorance of the unmasking scandal two weeks ago, arguing Rice “wasn’t aware” what unmasking Rep. Devin Nunes (D-Calif.) was referring to.

And on Tuesday’s “New Day,” anchor Alisyn Camerota openly pleaded with Sen. John McCain to write-off the news as unimportant.

Last night, Lemon began “CNN Tonight” with an announcement that the Rice report a “fake scandal ginned up by right-wing media and Trump” that he would not be baited into justifying with coverage.

“On this program tonight, we will not insult your intelligence by pretending,” it’s legitimate, he said. “Nor will we aid and abet the people trying to misinform you, the American people, by creating a diversion. Not going to do it.”

Sciutto also claimed the story was “ginned up” to distract from Trump tweeting that the Trump Tower was “wiretapped,” when it was in fact communications were picked up through ordinary NSA surveillance.

“Again, to note by senior intelligence officials who work for both Democrats and Republicans, this appears to be a story, largely ginned up, partly as a distraction from this larger investigation,” Sciutto told Anderson Cooper, explaining that “someone close to Ambassador Rice” told him this type of unmasking is “not unusual.”

In another appearance, Sciutto even attempted to excuse Rice from claiming to have no knowledge of the unmasking she’s been caught orchestrating.

“From her perspective she didn’t know what specific unmasking Devin Nunes and others are talking about, in part because that is something she asks — or asked during the regular course of her work as national security adviser,” he said. “I do know from speaking to people yesterday close to her that she doesn’t know specifically what Devin Nunes and others are accusing her of when it comes to unmasking because that was something sets in the regular course of her job.”

And in yet another appearance, Sciutto also setup something of a strawman, arguing that the unmasking story is not important because “unmasking is not leaking.”

During an interview with Sen. John McCain, CNN’s Camerota plainly tried nudging the Arizona senator into dismissing the Rice bombshell:

CAMEROTA: “Okay, senator, I want to move on to other news of the day and that is, as you know, the Trump White House has talked about what they see or they say they see as a controversy of the former national security adviser Susan Rice unmasking a name, someone on team Trump, that was somehow caught up in some incidental collection of surveillance. They say that this is a controversy, it shows that she has done something wildly out of the bounds of normalcy. Is this business as usual for a national security adviser to ask for a name to be revealed, an American name, if she wants to know more or is this some sort of a controversy?”
McCAIN: “I think the circumstances indicate that there’s a possibility that that request could have been politically motivated. But we need to get to the bottom of it. As I’ve said, and I’ll probably say many more times because I’m kind of boring, this is a centipede. A shoe will drop every few days, the latest the meeting in Seychelles. This is a requirement, in my view, why we need a select committee in order to get through all this because there’s lots more shoes that will drop. I can’t make a judgment on what I just heard. She did have the authority to do it. What was the motivation for doing it, I think is the question.”
CAMEROTA: “What we’ve heard from the reporting, is that if she saw a masked name that said American number one had these conversations with Russians at the same time that President Obama had imposed sanctions, wouldn’t that arouse some curiosity on her part?”
McCAIN: “All I can say, Alisyn, is that I don’t know enough to reach a conclusion except to say this is another aspect of this multi-dimensional scandal.”

there is a clip out there of Don Lemon making the statement…calling Foxylady

  26. Surveillance had nothing to do with Russia and began months before Donald J. Trump became President Donald J. Trump:

Computer logs that former President Obama’s team left behind in the White House indicate his national security adviser Susan Rice accessed numerous intelligence reports during Obama’s last seven months in office that contained National Security Agency intercepts involving Donald Trump and his associates, Circa has learned.

Intelligence sources said the logs discovered by National Security Council staff suggested Rice’s interest in the NSA materials, some of which included unmasked Americans’ identities, appeared to begin last July around the time Trump secured the GOP nomination and accelerated after Trump’s election in November launched a transition that continued through January.

The intelligence reports included some intercepts of Americans talking to foreigners and many more involving foreign leaders talking about the future president, his campaign associates or his transition, the sources said. Most if not all had nothing to do with the Russian election interference scandal, the sources said, speaking only on condition of anonymity given the sensitive nature of the materials. [snip]

How the information was disseminated beyond Rice will also be a potential focus of congressional oversight, since lawmakers may want to know if it was briefed to Obama or shared with members of her larger circle of advisers, like deputy Ben Rhodes.

  27. Two weeks before the election the goal was a big landslide against Trump:

It’s not a done deal, as you said. And so, to the Americans in the audience please vote. And not only vote but get everybody to vote. Because I really believe we need a landslide. We need an absolute repudiation of everything. All of the policies that Donald Trump has put out there. I am not afraid to be political. I am not hiding who I am rooting for. And I think it’s very important that we continue to press forward until election day and through election day to make sure that we have the right results.

I do agree however with General Breedlove that even if we have the wrong results from my perspective America is resilient. We have a lot of presidential historians who have put forward very coherent the argument – they have given us examples of all of our horrible presidents in the past and the fact that we have endured. And we do have a strong system of checks and balances. And actually, if Donald Trump were elected I believe he would be impeached pretty quickly or somebody else would have to take over government. And I am not even joking.

No landslide other than for Trump in the electoral college. That’s why the left is stark raving nuts. Naked lunatics in the rain.

  28. Admin: when I read your update, which characterized what Rice did as merely an abuse of power, rather than what I suggested namely part and parcel of a conspiracy to violate the law with a hefty prison sentence attached, in which all players from the unmasker to the leaker are “in pare delicto”, I figured either I am wrong or we are ignoring our most potent weapon to bring down this conspiracy, and deter other potential leakers embedded in the deep state. But assuming I am wrong, and all we have is an abuse of power which cannot be prosecuted, and merely the stench of dirty politics which has hovered over the Clinton machine for decades with no day of reckoning, then perhaps the most we can hope for out of this is the other point you refer to which is the complicity of big media in this abuse of power, from the standpoint of publication and later on cover up. If that can be accomplished in such a way, that the public sees that big media in conjunction with deep state is an existential threat to the fourth amendment, then it may have some laudatory effect. Connecting big media to this abuse of power and this destruction of democracy then becomes the fall back position.

  29. Admin, thanks for the clip

simply astonishing that Don Lemon would utter those words as CNN continues on with its tunnel vision brainwashing

really, who does he think he is to decide what americans should think…or hear…

  30. S,

As you know, Lemon and CO are paid to push their agenda , I know people who think they are the second coming unfortunately

If that doesn’t change, this wil be tough, I don’t see Republicans having the spine for it all

  31. Lots of chess pieces moving:

Details of the “extreme vetting” that President Donald Trump promised as a candidate on immigration are beginning to emerge which could include asking for cellphones, social media passwords, financial records and answering questions about ideology from foreigners wanting to enter the country, The Wall Street Journal reported.

White House officials have begun the process of reviewing vetting procedures that may also include intense security reviews and greater scrutiny in interviews, and may apply to countries that are U.S. allies.

The Trump administration justifies the measures because of the urgency in the fight against terrorism which calls for a stricter approach.

If there is any doubt about a person’s intentions coming to the United States, they should have to overcome — really and truly prove to our satisfaction—that they are coming for legitimate reasons,” said Gene Hamilton, senior counselor to Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly. [snip]

Homeland Security officials expect to extend the process to all visa applicants including visitors, refugees and others looking to immigrate. It could also apply to the 38 countries in the Visa Waiver Program, including allies like the U.K., France, Australia and Japan.

Perhaps seen as the biggest change is asking applicants to turn over their cellphones for a review of contacts and other information.

The goal was to “figure out who you are communicating with,” a senior DHS official told the newspaper. “What you can get on the average person’s phone can be invaluable.

The scrutiny of social media websites would involve asking for a person’s passwords and list of sites visited.

“We want to say for instance, ‘What sites do you visit? And give us your passwords,’ so that we can see what they do on the internet,” Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly said at a congressional hearing in February. “If they don’t want to give us that information then they don’t come.” [snip]

The State Department is already employing tighter controls, and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has directed officials in embassies and consulates to identify “applicant populations” that warrant greater review, Reuters reported.

The new measures could also include an “ideological test” to determine an applicant’s views on women and their beliefs on “so-called honor killings,” according to the article, with the purpose of weeding out people who might act on their thoughts.

Readers of Big Pink should be immediately allowed in and given free hotel stays. 🙂

Illegal immigration down 67 percent under Trump: Former commissioner

Illegal immigration across the U.S.-Mexico border has continued to fall under President Trump, dropping 67 percent through the end of March, the former border commissioner told Congress on Tuesday.

That’s even bigger than the drop reported for February, when the number of illegal immigrants caught — a yardstick for the overall flow — dropped by 40 percent.

It’s actually up to 67 percent drop compared to last year,” David V. Aguilar, a former chief of the Border Patrol and former acting commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, told the Senate Homeland Security Committee. [snip]

But a drop anywhere close to the 67 percent figure Mr. Aguilar cited would be stunning, and suggests the early steps the president has taken to free up agents to enforce immigration laws at the interior and the border, and his plans to build a border wall, have deterred tens of thousands of would-be crossers.

  33. I also recall a few years back it was being reported in conservative media that CNN took money from foreign governments and corporations to spread propaganda. I wonder how they are getting paid to bury the Rice story as long as possible.

Freebies are expected to become increasingly scarce and the cost/benefit ratio of paying a coyote to smuggle plus more staff at border for closer scrutiny is getting way out of whack. Costs going up as coyotes getting caught and prosecuted with prison time and benefit going down with fewer and harder to get public benefits with the risk of jail for fraud and deportation and still crummy lower paying jobs. No more easy street nor any fun if threat of getting picked up is ever present. The economics of cheap labor/cost shifting is being imperiled and it hasn’t even really started in earnest yet.

  35. I am sure most of us noticed that Susan Rice admitted to leaking…

she said “I leaked nothing to nobody”

cute, using a double negative…a double negative means a positive…

    April 4, 2017 at 1:29 pm
It took Rice a day to get her spiel written and memorized including her body language. Her public face is boring with flat effect but I bet she can throw a hissy fit and is a kiss up/kick down sort which is why she is getting ratted out with such specificity by the civil servants.

  37. Admin . . . .

Here is a grand slam home run point, on the question of whether there was an unlawful conspiracy to leak sensitive information which was gleaned under the aegis of a FISA warrant, for reasons which have nothing to do with national security or criminal activity, which could send Rice and others to jail, as we saw with people of similar stature in Watergate.

It therefore follows that if Obama wants to haul up the Jolly Roger of national security for the unmasking and dissemination, we can hoist the son of a bitch and the rest of his camp followers by their own treasonous petard. This bullshit that it violates only the spirit of the law is just that bullshit. A good prosecutor could make a RICO case out of it, or at a minimum a treasonous conspiracy.

How many times must we listen to Rice before we realize that she is a pathological liar, who thinks it will never catch up with her. We saw it in Benghazi in re. the video not terrorists caused the attack which was later proven to be false, and more recently her debunkted claim that she know nothing about the surveillance of Trump, when she was not only viewing it but unmasking it. The other problem is the intelligence community, just like the IRS has been weaponized for crass political ends which sabotage its core mission. And finally, big media is implicated in the leak and in the cover up.

These separate acts must be seen as part of a conspiracy, where all parties are held criminally liable. There must be a special prosecutor, a grand jury and convictions. There is no other way to save the intelligence community. There is no other way to save the republic. As Roger Simon pointed out a week ago, this is the most important issue facing the country.

  38. To make the RICO case, you would have to define the criminal enterprise.

That would be the cabal, from unmaskers to leakers to coverup artists.

You could include bambi as il capo de tut de capo, just to make globalist heads explode.

I alway love it when you can take a core element of your opponents case which he relies on for his defense

And turn it around on him.

That is why the national security defense interests me so much.

It can be turned on its head very easily and used against them.

  39. This opening of the flood gates for the dissemination of top secret information gleaned under the authority of a FISA warrant, which was not pursuant to but in derogation of national security is the one act that implicates the big media beloved messiah directly in the conspiracy. This assumes he personally authorized that cascade of radioactive information with the stroke of that pen he bragged about.

  40. I think the evidence will show that Rice was not only the unmasker but also the leaker.

I am hoping that sooner of later someone taps through to the idea I have raised that whether or not unmasking is illegal, when it is done as part of a conspiracy to leak it is a crime.

Why else would Rice be leaking that information in the dying days of her lying boss term? Just to satisfy her own morbid curiosity? Or to do something with it. Knowing her history, the answer is self evident.

  41. Correction: why else would Rice be UNMASKING that information in the dying days of her lying boss term?

Don’t.

  43. From what I have been hearing it sounds like it is going to be difficult for Susan Rice to talk/wiggle herself out of this when she is under oath
Yes she can pull the ‘I plead the fifth’ card..and “classified info” excuse
it appears that there are all kinds of logs & hard copy paperwork that had to be signed off on and accounted for
So it does sound like she has left a “paper” or digital trail of evidence she would have to explain…especially if she was pulling this since at least last july

Furthermore if Nunes & Schiff have actually seen what is in the documents and presumably the other members of the investigating teams will also see the docs…things might get very heated very fast

btw…cnn has been covering Rice today, although defensively…it will be interesting to see what Don Lemon’s next move will be
Will Don Lemon still deny the relevance of this story when Rice is subpoenaed to appear in front of both the Senate and House investigations?!

  44. In the language of Admiral Poindexter, the goal of the Iran Contra neocons was to provide President Reagan with “plausible deniability”. If Obama ordered the dissemination of security information to multiple agencies after knowing what had happened with Snowden, then the claim that this was justified on the grounds of national security is not plausible.

  45. The Benghazi Liar’s double negative explains a lot of things. Like how two dreadful POTUS like Bush and Obama got elected to a second term. Of course they have been abusing the system to collect information on political opponents. Bush started the abuse and BO doubled down. He and his political harlots should do a Pickett’s charge to Halifax.

    Russia, Russia, bla, bla, bla…

  46. Trump made another push for the crap corporate welfare healthcare bill and Lyin’ Ryan threw a wet blanket on it. Ryan is going to own the mess.

  47. Actually, we are seeing some of the best example of journalism from big media since the days of Emile Zola.

First, the interview by my light of love Andrea Mitchell where she pitched a soft ball to Fried Rice, who then proceeded to hit it out of the park, denying that she knew anything about unmasking two weeks before we get incontrovertible proof that not only did she know something about unmasking she was a practitioner of that sordid practice. So Andrea got a big scoop on that one, which burnishes her credential as one of the most powerful women in Washington, be still my heart.

The other mega scoop came from daddy’s little girl Mika, who stopped making faces while her guest de jour Farkas did some Ginness Book of World Records gutspilling about leaking which she later denied. Dumb as a rock Mika stood there with no expression and when by the grace of God, or the grace of a sponor with a commerical, the gutspilling finally stopped she uttered an appropriate requiem for her guest. Gosh. There is a lot going on. (Fade to black)

  48. I still would like to know what the heck happened to NoQuarter and Larry. Wbb, you seemed to know more about him than most of us, any ideas?

  49. Time and patience have run out:

Days before President Trump hosts his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, a top U.S. official warned Tuesday that “the clock has run out” on decades of diplomatic efforts to rein in North Korea’s nuclear and missile programs, and military action may ultimately be necessary.

The clock has now run out, and all options are on the table for us,” the official told reporters at a briefing held on condition that he not be identified by name.

Hours after those remarks were reported, North Korea fired a ballistic missile into the waters off its east coast, according to South Korean officials.

Trump will host Xi late this week at his Mar-a-Lago private club in Florida, their first face-to-face talks since the November election. The American president is expected to raise longstanding concerns about what the new administration angrily describes as an unfair bilateral trade relationship and about what is seen in the West Wing as Beijing’s stubborn refusal to do more to contain North Korea’s belligerent behavior.

It is now urgent, because we feel that the clock is very, very quickly running out,” the official told reporters. “We would have loved to see North Korea join the community of nations. They’ve been given that opportunity over the course of different dialogues and offers over the course of four administrations, with some of our best diplomats and statesmen doing the best they could to bring about a resolution.”

Xi’s willingness to work more closely with Washington on North Korea will be “in some ways, a test of the relationship,” the official said. Trump is expected to press his guest to fully enforce international economic sanctions meant to starve the secretive regime in Pyongyang of resources — and especially hurt the lifestyle of its ruling elites.

In the days and weeks before the high-stakes summit between Trump and Xi, the administration has escalated its rhetoric on North Korea. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson recently said the threat that country poses is “imminent.” During a trip to Asia, he said Washington is out of “strategic patience” and that “all options are on the table” — a phrase typically understood to refer to military action. In mid-March, Trump said on Twitter that North Korea was “behaving very badly” and complained that “China has done little to help.”

Economic sanctions haven’t deterred North Korea, which announced in January that it could launch an intercontinental ballistic missile “at any time.” The United States responded that it would shoot down any missile, but the back-and-forth demonstrated how international diplomacy and economic sanctions have not worked to date, leaving Trump very few options for facing down an escalating threat. [snip]

China is the key to North Korea policy because it’s the smaller country’s patron, its source of food and fuel. Beijing doesn’t want North Korea to collapse, which would potentially send refugees streaming into China, to say nothing of raising doubts about the security of the country’s nuclear weapons. It also doesn’t want North and South Korea to reunite, fearing that the result would be a U.S.-aligned country on its borders. [snip]

After Pyongyang’s January missile threat, Trump tweeted: “North Korea just stated that it is in the final stages of developing a nuclear weapon capable of reaching parts of the U.S. It won’t happen!”

And “China has been taking out massive amounts of money & wealth from the U.S. in totally one-sided trade, but won’t help with North Korea. Nice!“ the president-elect added.

  50. So what’s really going on with Bannon?

He says he’s just stepping down from a specific role with a specific mission, i.e. the “de-operationalization” of the NSC, that has now been accomplished.

Big Media and Drudge seem to think there’s more to the story.

  51. I cannot believe the msm any longer. Their spiking the story. It makes sense that Bannon will no longer sit on the principles committee. My concern right now is the Syria gas business. Without fail, Rice and the swamp is being unmasked and boom CNN baits PTD

Lots of stinkiness. Wasn’t McCain there just a few weeks ago?

  52. I am not buying this Syrian gas business was done by Assad and I am sadden that Trump is buying into it.
I want to see real proof , McCain is in deep with the brotherhood and is a Neocon, and wants Assad out. This is a no win for Assad, and he and Russia were winning, there would be no reason to do this IMHO.
    I sell a rat.
The Bannon thing is weird, this may be chess, but it doesn’t feel like it right now.

  53. …something tells me when we do finally get the first female president, she probably will be a republican…and Nikki Halley is positioning herself

imo…she has been strong, forceful and articulate

she has been strong in her support for Israel…and did not mince any words on Syria…or Russia…

  54. Israel, and how Obama began to spy on Trump:

The accusation that the Obama administration used information gleaned from classified foreign surveillance to smear and blackmail its political opponents at home has gained new traction in recent days, after reports that former National Security Adviser Susan Rice may have been rifling through classified transcripts for over a year that could have included information about Donald Trump and his associates. [snip]

But what if Donald Trump wasn’t the first or only target of an Obama White House campaign of spying and illegal leaks directed at domestic political opponents?

In a December 29, 2015 article, The Wall Street Journal described how the Obama administration had conducted surveillance on Israeli officials to understand how Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli officials, like Ambassador Ron Dermer, intended to fight the Iran Deal. The Journal reported that the targeting “also swept up the contents of some of their private conversations with U.S. lawmakers and American-Jewish groups.” [snip]

In a December 31, 2016, Tablet article on the controversy, “Why the White House Wanted Congress to Think It Was Being Spied on By the NSA,” I argued that the Obama administration had merely used the appearance of spying on American lawmakers to corner opponents of the Iran Deal. Spying on U.S. citizens would be a clear abuse of the foreign-intelligence surveillance system. It would be a felony offense to leak the names of U.S. citizens to the press.

Increasingly, I believe that my conclusion in that piece was wrong. I believe the spying was real and that it was done not in an effort to keep the country safe from threats—but in order to help the White House fight their domestic political opponents.

“At some point, the administration weaponized the NSA’s legitimate monitoring of communications of foreign officials to stay one step ahead of domestic political opponents,” says a pro-Israel political operative who was deeply involved in the day-to-day fight over the Iran Deal. “The NSA’s collections of foreigners became a means of gathering real-time intelligence on Americans engaged in perfectly legitimate political activism—activism, due to the nature of the issue, that naturally involved conversations with foreigners. We began to notice the White House was responding immediately, sometimes within 24 hours, to specific conversations we were having. At first, we thought it was a coincidence being amplified by our own paranoia. After a while, it simply became our working assumption that we were being spied on.”

This is what systematic abuse of foreign-intelligence collection for domestic political purposes looks like: Intelligence collected on Americans, lawmakers, and figures in the pro-Israel community was fed back to the Obama White House as part of its political operations. The administration got the drop on its opponents by using classified information, which it then used to draw up its own game plan to block and freeze those on the other side. And—with the help of certain journalists whose stories (and thus careers) depend on high-level access—terrorize them.

Once you understand how this may have worked, it becomes easier to comprehend why and how we keep being fed daily treats of Trump’s nefarious Russia ties. The issue this time isn’t Israel, but Russia, yet the basic contours may very well be the same. [snip]

In spying on the representatives of the American people and members of the pro-Israel community, the Obama administration learned how far it could go in manipulating the foreign-intelligence surveillance apparatus for its own domestic political advantage. In both instances, the ostensible targets—Israel and Russia—were simply instruments used to go after the real targets at home.

  55. When I was growing up in Milwaukee, Israel was held in the highest esteem by America. I so wanted to be a Nazi hunter that I took 3 years of German. Doesn’t help when your tone deaf, but my heart was in the right place.
When I finally made it to D.C. I was flabbergasted on the number of women wearing hijabs, and not all of them middle eastern, put in Georgetown and the number is really staggering.
I see why Israel was butted out of favored status, the politicians were bought off by the Muslim brotherhood, and they have woven themselves into the trapestry of our government.

  56. Yes, she is smoking hot as well(no disrespect intended). I am anxious over Gorsuch appointment and the ACA repeal. Hopefully both will happen soon.

  57. What’s the down side of changing the filibuster rules for SCOTUS appointments to simple majority? We’re told that if the dims are in the majority at some time in the future, then they could take advantage of the rule, too. But is there any doubt that, in that dreaded scenario, the dims would change the rules themselves in a heartbeat, just like they planned to do if Hillary was elected and the dims took back the Senate? Why all the phony angst and apprehension about beating the dims to the inevitable rule change? Harry Reid already did it for the rest of the federal bench appointments; what’s wrong with going the last mile when it’s clear that the dims won’t vote for any Trump appointees?

  58. I’ve long since lost patience with any of these fools who cite the Trump debate joke (“Maybe the Russians can find Hillary’s missing emails”) as evidence of his “collusion with the Russians.” Tucker had one on his show tonight but he let it pass without challenge. I guess Tucker has too much to choose from and must pick his battles when he has these people on.

  59. when things really heat up, what are the odds of the POS throwing ms. rice under the bus? pretty good, me thinks. 🙂

  60. The Dems and Obama-ites don’t know what Trump already knows. Sending out a known professional, and not very accomplished, liar may be mistake number one. Rich looks like an old teacher’s pet girl who is used to having the authority figure back her up and now “teacher” is in French Polynesia hiding out. Clamming up completely may be mistake number two as it makes them look guilty but that is what their personal lawyers are telling them to do. Mistake number three was the Obama-ite prodigious leaking which is now met with prodigious leaking from the other side who are now in power of which they cannot really complain because what goes around…

Clues thrown out by various players start making at least some sense. Comey’s boringly detailed and oddly earnest explanation of the exceptionally rare “unmasking” process at the recent Congressional now looks like a broad hint that the FBI refused to unmask or was pressured to do it in the extreme. It is illegal for investigators to “unmask” when there is no crime. Ten years in federal prison “illegal”. The media spinning that Rice did not commit a crime with the unmasking is a lie and her idiotic double negative denial of leaking it a tell of her duplicity and amateur and dummy status as a liar. This looks like Bennie Rhodes style change in reality reeling out. And broad hints thrown in leaking and follow-up articles by complicit “journalists” with throwaway asides that it was common knowledge, every one does it, lots of personal details and tittering, etc so no big deal, is a disgusting reminder that DC is a venal, toadying, tiny league bunch of poseurs, lazy asses, and fifth raters. As Trump tweeted “sick”. DC is after all the Hollywood of the ugly and the repository of the can’t cut it in the real world of hustle and hard work, imagination, and discipline. We are extorted and forced to pay these people with our taxes. Time for a purge and cesspool clean out. Trump is drip, drip, dripping them into hysteria.

  61. Did the Syrian airforce inadvertently hit a chemical weapons depot owned by the Syrian rebels?

  62. About the gas attack,
    I have a burning question.
They keep showing the man with his twin babies.
Where is the Mom? And where was he if they were with the babies?
    Why aren’t they dead too???
    What do you think?

  63. Listening to Laura and guests. Not very positive about the chaos happening in the Trump house. SIL and daughter have too much power, are liberal Dems at heart and pushing agenda in that direction. Jared doesn’t like Bannon and visa versa. Trump so desperate for a “win” he is listening to the Bushs and Globalist cartels.
I want to believe he has his head on straight, and clearly with the jobs report, good jobs, decrease in illegals crossing the Southern border, I really do believe he is chipping away, but Nunes stepping aside, I say pushed aside, this is pure BS. And Adam Shiff is still in place and wants a “fresh start”… Total BS and Susan Rice will get off …again. Imagine the Dems nixing their chairman because the Republicans were unhappy. Spineless fools.
Trump is losing his base, I believe that, and when he does, he is done.

  64. Another view point on Nunes from legalinsurrection
    April 6, 2017 at 11:47 am

I think people need to step back and look at what this really does. The first thing is it takes all of the “unethical” steam out of the democrats balloon. The second thing it does is allow them to gather all of the threads on this issue until they have the facts needed to pursue it without interference. The other item accomplished by Nunes is that he made the unmasking public so it can’t be destroyed without consequences. The last thing to remember is that Congress only has power to investigate, the executive branch has the power to prosecute. Those to branch’s will be working together during this investigation unlike they did during any investigations during Obama’s tenure. Which means the investigation will have teeth if something is found. I am curious to see what dirt is uncovered.

  65. Nunes stepped down as Intel Chair. Dummies in MSM, Dem and NeverTrump cabals are rejoicing and the feint hearted Trumpers are crying over the left “getting a scalp.” They are still too short-sighted to realize that with this move, the MSM can no longer focus on Nunes rather than on Rice/leaks.
Same thing happened when Flynn resigned.

  66. Venus

It’s not faint hearted, it’s been a long list of step downs and asides, then healthcare debacle, weird as it was.
I do believe he is smarter than me, I do believe that Admin is way smarter than me, but I also do believe he may need to have a win soon and maybe the Judge is one. And I am of the standing that his SIL and daughter may have too much influence, but what do I know.

  67. Waiting for Admins insight and inside info to understand. Maybe it is playing chess with the grand master after all
