The Mark Of Kaine: #SystemRigged #DemConvention

Update II: The Donald J. Trump prebuttal to Obama and the Obama Third Term:

Update: It’s all about the Benjamins. Pay to play. A new Wikileaks release:

Is the #SystemRigged? Tim Kaine received an $18,000 Caribbean vacation for free and legally. Is the #SystemRigged? How many free $18,000 vacations have you received for free? Is our political class “crooked”? Is the #SystemRigged to benefit the political class overlords at the expense of the taxpayer citizens? You betcha!

Former Governor, current U.S. Senator, promoted to candidate for Vice President, Tim Kaine, will speak tonight to the Dims in convention. Tim Kaine won’t speak about the corrupt, rigged system, because Tim Kaine is a beneficiary of the corrupt, rigged system:

WASHINGTON — Barr Pharmaceuticals gave Gov. Tim Kaine of Virginia a ride on a private jet to a meeting in Aspen, Colo., at a time in 2006 when it was lobbying him over issues related to its drug sales, state records show.

Dominion Resources, Virginia’s largest electric utility and a lobbying force in the state’s capital, Richmond, picked up the tab for a trip that Mr. Kaine took that same year to the college basketball Final Four tournament (and a funeral) in Indianapolis, according to the records.

McCandlish Holton PC, a law and lobbying firm that represented Virginia’s small vineyards and worked closely with Mr. Kaine’s office to create a new system for distributing wine produced by the vineyards, presented Mr. Kaine with four cases of wine in 2007, the records show, the same year he signed the legislation into law.

Under Virginia’s lax ethics rules at the time, the gifts, which had a total value of more than $160,000, were all legal as long as they were disclosed.

Is the system rigged? Picture yourself with a mask on as you rob a bank. After the robbery you disclose you are the criminal. No problem, keep the money, you disclosed your crime. System rigged.

Donald J. Trump says the system is rigged. Hillary Clinton does all within her power to prove Trump correct with her choice of Tim Kaine:

It would be naïve to think a pharmaceutical company like Teva was not interested in maintaining access to the governor as a result of a gift of that size,” said Andrew P. Miller, a former Democratic attorney general in Virginia, who now works as an energy industry lawyer and lobbyist, referring to Teva Pharmaceuticals, which bought Barr in 2008.

Donald J. Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, wasted little time in starting to attack Mr. Kaine, branding him on Friday night as “corrupt Kaine” and continuing with the criticism during a Sunday morning news interview.

He took over $160,000 of gifts. And they said, well they weren’t really gifts. They were suits, and trips and lots of different things. Over $160,000,” Mr. Trump said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “I think to me it is a big problem.”

The system is rigged. The system is corrupt. Emails once again provide proof. The more corrupt a politician is, the higher he rises:

Mr. Kaine’s acceptance of gifts has been reported on at times, dating back to when he was in the governor’s office. But an examination by The New York Times of archival email traffic from Mr. Kaine’s tenure as governor shows that he received gifts, in some cases, around the same time he and his staff were considering official government requests from these donors.

In Barr’s case, the email records show that executives from the company asked Mr. Kaine to intervene with the Food and Drug Administration on its behalf in August 2006, just days before the flight to Aspen for a meeting of the Democratic Governors Association, later valued at $12,000 in Mr. Kaine’s disclosure report.

Mr. Kaine signed the letter to the F.D.A. — a draft of which had been written by Barr — as requested before leaving on the trip, and a company lobbyist suggested that he was prepared to follow up during the plane ride.

“The Gov will be on a plane on Friday with Phil Smith,” Eileen Filler-Corn, an aide to the governor, wrote in an August 2006 email, after she had met with Mr. Smith, then a lobbyist from Barr. “Phil will likely speak with to Gov about him sending a letter in support of the petition in Aspen this weekend, hence this email to ya’ll.”

State records compiled by the Virginia Public Access Project show that a total of 139 companies or individuals gave about 220 gifts or reimbursements for travel to Mr. Kaine to work-related conferences while he served as governor from 2006 to 2010 and lieutenant governor from 2002 to 2006. Amy Dudley, a spokeswoman for Mr. Kaine, said that two-thirds of the filings were in the work-related travel category, and that Mr. Kaine was careful to disclose any gift, even if it was from a family friend, which is not required under the law.

Only in a corrupt, rigged system is the excuse accepted that the bribe is OK because it is reimbursement for a trip. A public official in our corrupt, rigged system, can ride a private plane for free to Shangri-La for a month of utopian vacation, then claim he did a minute of work and called it “work-related” travel.

The system is rigged, corrupt. For the ruling political class, bribery is a work-related gift. The ruling class makes decisions which loot the treasury extorted from the taxpaying citizens. The taxpayer is forced to pay taxes and the ruling class loots the treasury like thugs in Ferguson loot liquor stores.

The system is rigged, corrupt, in need of an Avenger to strike it down.

Only the ruling class, like Tim Kaine, former Lt. Governor, former Governor, current U.S. Senator, get free $18,000 vacations:

Other major gifts came from personal friends, including a weeklong stay, worth $18,000, in 2005 shortly after Mr. Kaine was elected governor on the exclusive Caribbean island of Mustique, provided by James B. Murray Jr., a Virginia-based venture capitalist specializing in telecommunications investments, who also donated $45,000 to Mr. Kaine’s election campaign and to a political action committee affiliated with Mr. Kaine. Mr. Murray owned an oceanside estate named Les Jolies Eaux — which boasts five bedrooms, two pools and, at least nowadays, a chef, butler, housekeeper, maid and gardener, according to a rental listing — that was designed for Princess Margaret, countess of Snowdon, the younger daughter of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. [snip]

But the emails reviewed by The Times reflect a sensitivity about the gifts and the public’s perception of them on the part of Mr. Kaine’s aides.

When Mr. Kaine’s press secretary in December 2009 took a newspaper reporter and photographer to a so-called gift room in Capitol Square in Richmond, senior staff members scrambled to quickly end the session. A few days earlier, the governor had proposed an income tax increase, increasing staff members’ anxiety about the appearance of an article focusing on gifts.

This is a terrible story,” Lynda Tran, Mr. Kaine’s communications director, wrote to Mr. Turnage, then the governor’s chief of staff. “I would certainly not have advised depicting the governor as hoarding gifts in a room.

In some case, the gifts came from people or companies that were actively lobbying the state on matters in which Mr. Kaine’s office was involved.

The taxpaying peasants must be kept in the dark about the high living of the ruling class. RAISE TAXES, HOARD GIFTS, TIM KAINE.

The ruling political class discloses the corruption in forms so that makes the corruption and cronyism OK in their minds. It is never-ending Kaine corruption:

At the time McCandlish Holton, the Richmond-based law and lobbying firm, gave Mr. Kaine four cases of wine, it represented the Virginia Wineries Association and worked closely with Mr. Kaine’s office to negotiate a compromise between the vineyards and wine wholesalers that resulted in legislation passed in 2007 and signed by Mr. Kaine, said Terri Cofer Beirne, the lobbyist who handled the matter.

“He was quite helpful,” Ms. Beirne said of Mr. Kaine and his staff.

This was hardly a new relationship: Mr. Kaine had worked at the law firm before he was elected lieutenant governor. The email records show several email exchanges between Ms. Beirne and Mr. Kaine’s staff, as the industry worked to enact the provisions detailed in the new law, necessary after a court ruling declaring Virginia farm winery laws unconstitutional.

Tim Kaine worked for the “Richmond-based law and lobbying firm” that later on continued the circle of corruption. It is a circle of systemic rigged corruption. Why do you think that Tim Kaine ran for office in the first place as he toiled at McCandlish Holton – who do you think wanted Tim Kaine to run? The corrupt raise the corrupt.

The system is so rigged, so corrupt, we need a guillotine.

Before the Kansas flight, the governor’s aides received a request from Barr’s chief executive for time with the governor to discuss pending legislation, an email shows. The same email among aides mentioned the upcoming plane ride to Kansas courtesy of Barr.

“The ability to fly on a private aircraft saves the state money,” Ms. Dudley said, adding that the trips were generally for state government-related matters. [snip]

The trip paid for by Dominion in April 2006 allowed Mr. Kaine to attend the N.C.A.A. basketball tournament in Indianapolis as well as a funeral there for a former state legislator, records show.

“We fully reported it and expected nothing in return,” Chet G. Wade, a Dominion spokesman, said in a statement.

Tim Kaine, a funeral, followed by a basketball tournament. The political ruling class at play.

Tim Kaine is a member in good standing of the corrupt ruling class rigged system that loots the taxpayer. Time Kaine is not the only member in good standing of the corrupt ruling class rigged system that loots the taxpayer:

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The streets are freshly swept, the hotel rooms are pristine, the party invitations have gone out and extra police patrols are assigned.

Philadelphia is ready for the Democratic National Convention. [snip]

-In June, a longtime Philadelphia congressman, Chaka Fattah, was convicted of laundering federal grants and nonprofit funds to repay an illegal $1 million campaign loan and help family and friends.

-Last year, former state Treasurer Rob McCord left office and pleaded guilty to attempted extortion in a campaign fundraising scandal.

Attorney General Kathleen Kane is awaiting trial on charges that she unlawfully leaked secret grand jury material to a newspaper and then lied about it under oath.

And those are just the high profile cases.

The former sheriff of Philadelphia has been charged with conspiracy; traffic judges have been convicted of ticket-fixing; state lawmakers have admitted taking bribes.

Jeff Jubelirer, a communications consultant who has worked on Republican campaigns, said these cases send a message about this overwhelmingly Democratic city, which could provide grist for presidential nominee Donald Trump and his fellow Republicans as the general election draws near.

“From a messaging standpoint, it lines up well for the Trump forces to say crooked Hillary and crooked Philadelphia,” Jubelirer said. “I think we will absolutely see that as we head into the fall.” [snip]

Former Gov. Ed Rendell, D-Pa., said he wasn’t worried about the scandals. “We had corruption in 2012 and Barack Obama carried the city by 468,000 votes,” Rendell said.

He said some of this was what you get in “big city politics,” adding that the one-party dominance in Philadelphia can breed corruption. [snip]

It’s where congressmen and other elected officials were caught taking illicit cash payments in the Abscam sting operation in the 1970s. During that investigation, then-Rep. Michael “Ozzie” Myers was caught on tape, saying: “Money talks in this business and bull—- walks.” [snip]

Over the past decade, former state Sen. Vince Fumo, a Democrat, went to prison for defrauding the state Senate, a South Philadelphia nonprofit and a seaport museum of millions of dollars. Former City Councilman Rick Mariano got prison time for taking bribes.

Tonight the corruption will continue.

Clinton and vice presidential pick Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., grappled with claims of flip-flopping on both the controversial Trans-Pacific Partnership trade pact and federal funding of abortion.

Longtime Clinton ally and Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe told Politico late Tuesday that he believes Clinton will ultimately support the TPP, with some tweaks.

When asked if Clinton would come around now that she is the nominee, McAuliffe said: “Yes. Listen, she was in support of it. There were specific things in it she wants fixed.”

Killing the deal has become a rallying cry for supporters of Bernie Sanders, many of whom arrived in Philadelphia carrying signs with the letters “TPP” crossed out. Sanders claims the deal would benefit big corporations, while sending jobs abroad and lowering wages.

Clinton, who once supported the proposal, tried to muffle that outcry during the primary season by reversing her support, in a rare break with the Obama administration. Yet that was before Sanders’ plucky revolution was formally quashed Tuesday night.

As McAuliffe’s remarks caused a stir overnight, his spokesman later walked them back, and said the governor was merely expressing what he hoped Clinton would do as president and that he has “no expectation” that Clinton would change her position. [snip]

“Just like I have warned from the beginning, Crooked Hillary Clinton will betray you on the TPP,” the billionaire tweeted.

The controversy came as her vice presidential pick, Virginia Sen. Kaine, is changing his position on an amendment that restricts the use of federal funds for abortions.

An aide confirmed to Fox News Tuesday that Kaine, who is Catholic and says he is personally opposed to abortion, has made a commitment to Clinton that he will support the repeal of the Hyde Amendment.

Kaine has a mostly pro-choice record in the Senate, but has made an exception for the Hyde Amendment.

Kaine’s change in position comes as a new Knights of Columbus-Marist poll shows 62 percent of Americans oppose taxpayer funding for abortion. Forty-four percent of Democrats, 84 percent of Republicans and 61 percent of independents oppose the funding, according to the poll.

  2. Kudos Admin. You are on fire and spot on. Too many people now know these dirty little secrets. A few people realize there is corruption but can’t believe it goes all the way to the top. And, sadly, there are those that don’t want to admit the simple truths that stare back at them from the TV or computer screen.

I really do believe the proverbial giant is not just stirring. He is fully awake and getting ready to open a can of some serious whoop ass.

It is now a fortnight since Mohammed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’ and ploughed a truck along the Nice seafront, killing 84 people. The following Monday Mohammed Riyad, who said he was from Afghanistan but almost certainly came from Pakistan, screamed ‘Allahu Akbar’ while hacking with an axe at his fellow passengers on a Bavarian train. The next day another Mohammed, this time Mohamed Boufarkouch, shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’ and stabbed a Frenchwoman and her three daughters (aged eight, 12 and 14) near Montpelier. Mixing things up a little, that Friday’s shooter in Munich was a child of Iranians called Ali David Sonboly. Skip forward a couple of days and a ‘-Syrian asylum seeker’ with a machete was hacking a pregnant woman to death in Stuttgart. The next day another ‘Syrian asylum seeker’, Mohammad Daleel, carried out a suicide bombing outside a bar in Ansbach, Bavaria. And a little over 24 hours later two men shouting the name of Isis entered a church in Rouen during Mass, took the nuns and congregation hostage and slaughtered the priest with a knife.

Although the public know what is going on, the media seems loath to find any connection between these events. Indeed, the same papers that blame an exaggerated spike in ‘hate crime’ on everyone who voted for Brexit seem unwilling to put the blame for these real and violent attacks on the individuals carrying them out. ‘Syrian man denied asylum killed in German blast’ was the Reuters headline on the Ansbach story, neatly turning the suicide bomber into the victim and the German asylum system into the perpetrator. As Reuters went on: ‘A 27-year-old Syrian man who had been denied asylum in Germany a year ago died on Sunday when a bomb he was carrying exploded outside a music festival.’ How terrible for him to lose his bomb in such a way.

The more complex story of the Munich shooter allowed everyone to double-down on their favourite explanations for violence. Inadequate welfare provisions, unsuitable town-planning and bullying were all wheeled out to explain why Ali David Sonboly started shooting in a McDonalds. Others were a little too keen to claim him as an Isis warrior, when it seems he wasn’t. The BBC got around the problem by excising the ‘Ali’ and all reports of his religion. Instead, speculation about the shooting happening on the fifth anniversary of Anders Breivik’s terrorist assault in Norway meant that every-one could ignore the Muslim eyewitness who heard Sonboly shout ‘Allahu Akbar’ and headline on Breivik instead. Meaning that in Europe in 2016 a child of Iranian parents can be portrayed as a white supremacist, while no amount of Mohameds shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ can be said to have any connection to Islam.

  4. Rigged system corruption:

Email exchanges involving top officials at theDemocratic National Committee released along with private documents by WikiLeaks show that DNC officials hoped to reward top donors and insiders with appointments to federal boards and commissions in coordination with the White House.

The revelations give an inside look into how the Democratic Party attempted to leverage its access and influence with the White House to bring in cash.

In an April 20, 2016 email, DNC National Finance Director Jordan Kaplan canvassed what appears to be the committee’s finance department – its fundraising office – for names of people (mainly donors) to reward with federal appointments on boards and commissions.

That email exchange yielded a list compiled by DNC Finance Chief of Staff Scott Comer and emailed to Kaplan on April 26 titled “Boards and Commissions Names_Final,” which listed the names of twenty-three DNC donors and insiders.

No denying the corruption. Pay for play.

  5. Rigged system corruption:

Feds probe de Blasio’s involvement in Brooklyn hospital sale

Manhattan US Attorney Preet Bharara is investigating whether Mayor de Blasio engaged in a fund-raising pay-to-play scheme over the controversial sale of a Brooklyn hospital for redevelopment into housing, The Post has learned.

The corruption-busting federal prosecutor recently subpoenaed the State University of New York seeking a slew of records regarding de Blasio’s ties to its sale of Long Island College Hospital in Cobble Hill, sources said.

The records date back to 2013, when de Blasio was the city’s public advocate and campaigned to keep LICH open. He even made a show of getting arrested during a protest rally while he was running for mayor.

Then-Public Advocate de Blasio also went to court and won an order that briefly delayed the sale — and greatly raised his political profile in a crowded Democratic primary field — before a judge booted him from the case on grounds he didn’t have legal standing to intervene.

But after winning the 2013 election, the mayor largely abandoned his opposition to the hospital’s closure, instead backing a redevelopment plan by the Fortis Property Group for a series of apartment towers that would include 200 to 300 affordable units.

A July 15 letter written by SUNY Senior Vice Chancellor Joseph Porter — and viewed by The Post — reveals that Bharara’s office, which is already investigating the mayor’s office over his fund-raising for state Senate races, has now cast a wide net for evidence of possible malfeasance in SUNY’s $240 million sale of LICH to Fortis.

According to Porter’s letter, the feds want copies of “any and all communications” between SUNY employees and de Blasio and his top aides including First Deputy Mayor Anthony Shorris, Director of Governmental Affairs Emma Wolf and special counsel Henry Berger.

The subpoenas also seek records of any related communications involving key de Blaiso fund-raiser Ross Offinger and all “personnel” and “employees or agents” of the Public Advocate’s Office, the “New Yorkers for de Blasio” campaign committee and de Blasio’s various nonprofits.

Wolfe and Offinger were both previously slapped with subpoenas tied to de Blasio’ s fund-raising operation, and Shorris has a link to the LICH deal through his former job as a senior vice president at NYU Langone Medical Center.

As part of the LICH redevelopment, NYU Langone opened a free-standing emergency room at the site in 2014, and is currently planning to replace it with a larger, $204 million facility in 2018.

The probe appears to stem from developer Don Peebles’ bombshell allegation that de Blasio personally hit him up for $20,000 to support Hizzoner’s universal pre-K program in March 2014 — while Peebles had a bid pending on the LICH site.

The nonprofit he donated to, UPKNYC, later became the now-shuttered Campaign for One New York.

Peebles told DNAInfo New York in May that he agreed to de Blasio’s request because it was hard “to tell the mayor no,” but that he later reconsidered and asked for his money back.

Peebles didn’t return a call for comment on Monday, and a SUNY spokeswoman said she was unaware of Bharara’s subpoena.

The probe marks Bharara’s latest anti-corruption blitz on City Hall, which was subpoenaed in April following a state Board of Elections report that said de Blasio engineered a scheme to evade fund-raising limits in a failed bid to help Democrats seize control of the state Senate.

The mayor is also under scrutiny over allegations that preferential treatment was given to supporters of a series of nonprofits he established, with the good-government group Common Cause labeling the donations “dark money” that was funding a “shadow government.”

In addition to eyeing the LICH site, Peebles — who has said he’s considering challenging de Blasio for mayor next year — was at the time renting office space to the city in a Tribeca building that the city last year approved for conversion into condos.

A spokesman for de Blasio’s 2013 campaign and the Campaign for One New York denied any wrongdoing, saying: “We are fully confident that the campaign has conducted itself legally and appropriately at all times.”

Bharara’s office and a Fortis spokeswoman both declined to comment.

  6. By the way, to hearken to something said earlier today. I’ve been seeing and listening to the DNC these past couple of days. I’m going to go out on limb here, so, please bear with me.

Too many unforeseen variables came into play.

There are a few things they never expected: the rise of Trump, the rise of Sanders, and the fact that too many people would refuse to fall into line after witnessing another scandalous example of corruption and the fantastically failed puppetry stylings of Sgt. Schultz.

I believe wholeheartedly Michelle was set up to continue the family tradition. As a consequence the major plan shifted. What I saw and heard was Plan B kicking into gear.

After her speech there were too many leftist talking heads using the word “presidential.” I also heard a paid shill saying that she reminded people that “soon I will miss having an Obama in the White House.”

But I think whoever was behind the curtain would never have the ability to make the various factions coalesce around the party. Too many disasters have now taken place. Hence, Plan B.

Anyway, it’s Happy Hour. I’m indulging and rambling.

  7. Felix_the_Infidel, did you notice that when Moose spoke the arena participants were provided with those large poles which spelled “MICHELLE”? When Bill Clinton spoke there were the same pole signs but they spelled out “AMERICA”. Moose is the only one provided with that advertising. We’ll keep looking to see if anyone else gets the same preferential treatment as Moose.

  8. Ah! I did! But I already knew too many of these people are paid. It did not occur to me they were paid only to promote her.

The other thing I noticed, and this struck a huge cord. Why would she say (and touch her heart while she said it) this is “the greatest country? Don’t let anyone tell you it is not.” Look, half the people (if not 3/4s) in that auditorium don’t believe we are even above average.

Reason: she has to shut up the naysayers in advance.

Why would she need to do that?

Reason: She has future plans that need to come to fruition.

I think she was the one (and I said this before) that was supposed to come out from behind the curtain as the savior. Sadly for her, Toto-Trump and Bern-gang pulled back the curtain long before they were ready.

And pretty please, just call me “Felix.”

  9. Henry,

I know Brady died in 2014 But it was determined it was due to the shootings and therefore determined it was in fact murder committed by Hinkley.

  10. Not just appropriate but perfect! That’s my favorite movie of all time!! (Now, there’s a shocker for everyone.)

    Thank you, Outris.

Nice karate chops, by the way.

  11. Did anyone else notice that the Moose has gotten lighter over the last 8 years? Her hair used to be black and it was definitely brown during her presidential speech.

That is just the thing about all this white hating, looks rooted in jealousy. You need to be happy with who you are, first.

  12. Another reason why Bill Clinton’s speech failed – it brings up this:

PHILADELPHIA — Ivanka Trump, daughter of GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, is constantly asked about her father’s treatment of and statements about women. The same cannot be said of Chelsea Clinton, daughter of former President Bill Clinton and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

Ivanka has been grilled by CBS, criticized by the Atlantic and asked by many more outlets to defend her father. On Wednesday, CBS published an article about Chelsea calling on Ivanka to ask her father about equal pay.

Here’s an article you won’t see from the mainstream media: Chelsea Clinton being asked to defend her father’s treatment of women, including accusations against him of rape.

The closest anyone came was Comospolitan, who framed the question to Chelsea as an attack from Donald Trump. “Donald Trump has called your dad an abuser of women, and your mom his enabler. What do you think of his attacks on your parents?”

The phrasing of the question allowed Cosmo to pretend they asked a tough question, while really allowing Chelsea to criticize Donald Trump. And that’s exactly what she did.

The obvious reason behind this is that political journalists tend to be extremely liberal. They love Bill Clinton so much, they overlook the serious allegations against him (and his settlement with one of his accusers). So while Chelsea Clinton is allowed to attack Ivanka’s father without consequence, she herself is given a pass on her own father’s actions.

Bill Clinton simply receives special treatment because he has a “D” next to his name. He continues to enjoy broad support from Democrats and is invited to speak at numerous high-profile events and paid lavish speaking fees. No other man accused of rape and sexual assault would be allowed anywhere near a Democratic event.

This question was regularly raised on Twitter. Now, because of Bill’s speech, it is hitting Big Media outlets.

  13. Felix_the_Infidel July 27, 2016 at 5:34 pm Kudos Admin. You are on fire and spot on.

    I second that notion.
Are any here watching CSPAN coverage of Dem Convention? I started around 7:30 and think I hear constant talking from the peanut gallery.
Speakers Susan Sarandon, Jerry Brown and Pulse victim’s Mom seem distracted.
I watched Trump via admin’s source this afternoon and am LMAO over Putin Trump Gate reports out tonight.

  14. Mike Pence – yuck! Wants to overturn Roe V. Wade. How Neanderthal.

Rick Scott heading the Trump super PAC. YUCK X 10!

These men are why I cannot be a Republican.

  15. Don’t know if this is true but some over at CTH are saying people at DNC are shouting

Maybe the actors they hired are moles. ☺

  16. Outris:

After releasing nearly 20,000 emails from the US Democratic National Committee, WikiLeaks has dumped audio recordings from the organization.

The new release includes 29 voice messages pulled from the emails of high-ranking DNC officials, totaling 14 minutes.

One file (#16014) involves a Clinton supporter calling to demand that Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders be prevented from winning the primary.

The emails released over the weekend showed that officials within the ostensibly neutral organization had a clear bias toward former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Sanders supporters were outraged, and the embarrassment forced DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz to resign ahead of this week’s convention. NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden has pointed out, however, that her replacement has been shown to be equally guilty of anti-Sanders bias.

Now they have to worry about their phones too.

  17. Another Hillary supporter that agrees that Bill Clinton’s speech failed:

Given the job of humanizing his wife, he came across as genuinely smitten. But he failed to do what he’s done in every convention speech he’s delivered since 1992: tell a story about where America is today and what can be done to move it forward. He called his wife a great “change maker” but didn’t define the change America needs right now.

Idiot Beinart thinks Bill Clinton insulted Muslims too.

  18. Thanks for fixing my posts Admin.

I missed the instructions for posting Twitter links, so if someone could post that info again I’d be grateful.

  19. LoL

Not fan of her but have to admit this is funny:

Michelle Malkin’s twitter feed reminds us “Joe Biden has touched many people. I mean, like, literally touched.”

  20. What I need is a picture by picture instruction to post tweets and videos cause mine which once worked, no longer do,,don’t know why.

  21. Bye, Bye, Bernie, Bernie, Bye, Bye:

Bernie Sanders Leaves the Democratic Party

The nomination was barely sealed up at the Democratic National Convention before Bernie Sanders, who had campaigned against Hillary Clinton for the party’s nod, went back to being an Independent.

Sanders, who considers himself, officially, an Independent in Congress because his views lean further left than the Democratic party’s platform, caucuses with Democrats. But until declaring an intention to run for the presidency in 2015, he had rarely, if ever, identified as a member of the Democratic Party (he’s been in politics since 1979).

And now, despite pleading with his base to support Hillary, even though their concerned that she’s too moderate, Sanders will return to Vermont and to his seat in the Senate, and he’ll do it with no official party affiliation.

    Socialist has been.

  22. Update: It’s all about the Benjamins. Pay to play. A new Wikileaks release:

  23. Gonzo…I think “blinders” are going to have to replace the rose colored glasses soon. One can’t honestly look past all this hypocrisy and lies anymore.

  24. Lu, personally I don’t believe in parties anymore, and I can’t imagine ever “belonging” to one again. I think they are all just corrupted. And what they say today is up for bid, it can change tomorrow with the right encouragement – look at Hillary with the TPP – or any of the republican candidates who were scoffing at Trump’s ideas before they saw they were popular then they started professing those ideas themselves. Plus, “belonging” to a party seems to make it too easy for them to take “groups” for granted. I don’t think anyone should belong to a party anymore. Just listen to the candidates and see who most reflects what you want (and hope those aren’t the issues they’re going to cave on).

Anyway, in relation to your comment, both sides have their awful people. But we can vote for whomever we like without joining a party (well, other than having to register with a party to vote in some states). But we don’t have to identify with a party. I think I will always now be independent. Free…..

  25. Felix – I want to be sure to understand your theory –

Are you saying that there was a mystery person behind the curtain, but unexpected events prevented that, so now Michelle Obama is the Plan B?

Or are you saying that Michelle was the Plan A, and unexpected events prevented that, and now they’re having to figure out a Plan B?

  26. admin – the media has been all out for Hillary this time around. They’re actually putting some time into covering all these leaks (perhaps to take the focus off of their own guilt shown in the leaks) –

BUT – could it be the opening salvo being orchestrated to usher in the next dem candidate…? Build up the facts in the releases, and oh so sad, Obama will need to ask her to step aside…..?

  27. ie,, I’m seeing a subtle shift. I don’t know if it will continue as they may just be trying to take the focus of their own behavior shown in the releases…. but they’re actually pointing out bad things, which seems odd…. must be a reason….

  28. Barack Obama is so dense he does not understand his speech helps Trump. Obama is repeating what Trump says then attacks it. Problem is most Americans agree with Trump.

  29. BTW, notice the signs in the crowd spell out OBAMA. Just like with Moose signs spelled out MICHELLE. Not for Bill, his signs were “America”. Not for anyone else have the signs had name. Subliminal message of the signs? Night 1 “Michelle”, night 3 “Obama”.

  30. JtJames, we refer to the big “pole” signs that are several feet high, not little handouts like “Joe” had.

  31. Oh, the return of all things, as Nietzsche said.

    Like what?

Like that vaunted investigative journalist, Brian Ross, who has been peddling tripe and disinformation since Christ was a corporal.

Whoever said Old Soldiers Never Die never met Brian Ross.

Last time I saw him, broke the story of the identity of the shooter of Gabby Gifford.

Yup, as Nathan Bedford Forrest would say, he got there firstest with the mostest.

    Only one problem.

    He identified the wrong man.

    But tonight he redeemed himself.

He exposed the corruption of certain members of the DNC, not through any kind of original research but by emails that fell into his lap, gravity being what it is.

    He gloated.

And I asked myself is he perchance a born again journalist?

And if not why did he gloat??

I thought about it for a minute and realized he did it for two reasons, one obvious, the other not so much.

First, he wanted to look like a man of integrity, who exposes corruption wherever he finds it.

If you know anything about him, which unfortunately, I do, that dog won’t hunt.

But there is another reason which I find to be more satisfying.

It gets back to something Peter Kahn the one time editor of WSJ said in his Christmas Message to readers 20 years ago.

He said: When you are part of a corrupt system, and getting a good deal the one thing you can be sure of is that someone else is getting a better one.

Thus, in seeing these politicians get a better deal than he is getting, for being no less corrupt than he is, causes anger, bitterness and envy.

It would gaul someone like Brian Ross.

And that is the real motive behind his actions and that Mona Lisa smile.

  32. So, Tim Kaine, Cain, which ever it is sends me an email posing the provocative question: are you with us.

I wrote back and told him he was prettier than Michelle, even though he looks like a made member of the Five Points Irish Gang known as The Plug Uglies who lived in the Old Brewery in the Old Bowery in Old New York circa 1840. Then I posed a couple provocative questions of my own like: what do you mean by “us”, and explain to me the difference between that $18,000 vacation paid for by lobbyists, and that good old fashioned word “bribe”, because my sense is it is a distinction without a difference.

  33. Reading all about that organ grinders monkey Tim Cain, Wall Street being the organ grinder, I have got to believe he will be box office poison to the progs. One more slap in the face. Hillary would have been far wiser to select a prog, not only for party unity, but for life insurance political and mortal. Whereas now, Wall Street can replace her in the twinkling of an eye.

    love the video.
btw, the front elevation of the DNC stage reminds me of the exterior of a roach coach. perfect.

  35. I didn’t watch that much tonight. I did pass on to my Jewish friends that article about DNC arguing over Holocaust Remembrance day. Again,I am not a democrat and dislike the party, but have not given up on Hillary as of yet. Look forward to tonight. She has to run left because she would not get the nomination so there is still hope if she wins, like Bill, will be a centrist even if it means one term.

With that said, Trump is indeed leading by over 3% nationally and would win per Nate Silver if election was today. If Trump loses, it is not because of Hillary, Obama, etc., it is because he says some really stupid things like asking Russia to leak more emails…it’s his for the taking if he acts disciplined.

  36. Good morning Lorac. I am not certain this morning MO was it. After thinking about it in depth I believe it was someone else who would have been the man behind the curtain. However, bear in mind, even if it was someone else waiting to step out, it was ALWAYS going be about Michelle. MO was the end game. The person stepping out would have smoothed the way for Michelle as either the other half of the ticket or for the future.

Unfortunately for them, too many variables came into play. With each passing moment it looks like the democrats are going to lose in a land-slide. Due to the fact they are now fully conscious they are weighted down with cinder blocks of their own choosing, they went to Plan B. Plan B is still Michelle. However, what they have given her is the same type of set-up BO had in 2004. A prime-time sweetheart speaking gig people can talk about and gush on about. As his star fades hers will shine brighter. She is now the one with the star power. It is for that reason all those flunkies went into over-drive declaring her “presidential.”

I saw the speech. It was competent and well delivered. I don’t see where “presidential” comes in. In fact, the only speech I can think of by a first lady still in the White House that can be called “presidential” is HRC’s China speech on “women’s rights.” Even that was ho-hum till the last few lines. Other than that I never heard anyone call Laura, or Barbara, or Nancy, or Betty, or Eleanor, or Jackie “presidential.”

The fix has been for Michelle to carry on the family tradition. Watch her run for office in DC or in Chicago if she ever goes back. Michelle was always the end game. I am certain of it.

  37. Lorac, even George Snuffaluffagus is being forced to report the bad stuff as it relates to her. There are incoming missiles from all directions. They cannot afford right now to ignore them. They know they are under a microscope. What they can do is continue to report the bad stuff coming from the DNC camp but either downplay it or let it rest for a while. Then, turn on the steam-engines, switch gears and go full speed ahead on Trump. It hasn’t worked so far but it is all they got.

This drip-drip coming with the emails is a nail-biter. It’s gonna get a lot worse for the little globalists. Ah, good times ahead.

  38. Trumps tongue in cheek asking Russia to find and release the emails was brilliant tongue in cheek and if you can’t see that JB your really lost.

That’s what you are up against Gonzo. Don’t waste your time.

The Mark of Cain reminds me of Damien by Hesse. Jungian self actualization. Nothing about Kaine is in that ballpark.

  41. Even the loons agree that Obama was a bust:

Obama’s DNC letdown: The president needed to hit it out of the park, but he surprisingly fell short
Obama is one of the great orators of our time, but his meandering speech for Hillary missed the mark

Barack Obama’s signature, as a speaker, is his ability to stay on-topic. While most politicians try to cram everything, plus a stash of kittens and a stray puppy to boot, into their speeches, POTUS is known for writing speeches that stray little and focus heavily on the thesis at hand. Last night, in his speech supporting Hillary Clinton, was the last big foreseeable speech of his career. Last night, of all nights, he should have really brought his mighty oratory skills to bear.

Sadly, however, his speech was a bit…meh. [snip]

It’s hard to put a thesis statement into Barack Obama’s speech. He roamed around, hat-tipping Black Lives Matter and Clinton’s hard work, but one never got the sense, from him, of Clinton as a friend. Michelle Obama sold Clinton that way, portraying her as an older woman she had grown close to and come to admire. Bill Clinton had done it, portraying his wife as she frankly, as a human, deserves to be seen: As a kind-hearted woman who loves her child and can set human male hearts a-flutter.

But to Barack Obama, the man who sat with her as they watched their hard work result in the death of the man who inflicted 9/11 on us? No real warmth was detected.

It’s hard for me to imagine going through that with someone and not feeling bound to them. How our president, a man who is a genius at making the incomprehensible seem downright folksy, failed to convey that, is a great mystery. [snip]

But that was a crowd that was fully ready to be united and scream its head off at the chance of electing the first female president, and, for some reason, Obama just fell a bit short of the task. As he noted in the speech, being the leader of the free world is hard work — which is why we should want Clinton in the job — so perhaps he didn’t have time to tell a better story.

Still, a shame. Most of us wanted to hear the real story of how these two former foes became friends. Obama could have told that story in style, and made history while he did it. His failure to do so is on him.

But we’ll always have his wife. Michelle, 2024! Sí se puede!

  42. Oregon:

Our most recent survey of Oregon voters statewide showed that, in a prospective General Election match-up between presumptive Republican Party nominee Donald Trump and likely Democratic Party nominee Hillary Clinton, Trump leads by a small margin, 44% to 42%, with 13% yet undecided.

The Trump lead is statistically insignificant, but shows the Oregon electorate is deeply split about the direction in which the country should move. Both candidates have solidified much of their own political bases, winning about four of every five partisans, but Trump has a massive lead among Oregon independent voters, winning 53% support compared to just 26% support among independents for Clinton. Another 21% of independents said they are yet undecided.

Addressing the Democratic National Convention on its penultimate night to lay out the case for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, President Obama began by recalling his political debut at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. He then described how his family has become so well known to America in the intervening years. He spoke of his time in office, how the presidency has physically aged him, but how his daughters euphemistically note he now looks more “mature.”

He spoke of everything he is proud to have achieved — passing ObamaCare, expanding clean energy production, reducing consumption of foreign oil, passing the Iran deal, bringing troops home, killing bin Laden.

He spoke of how inspired he’s become meeting Americans of all stripes. He spoke of his optimism. He spoke of the values he imparted from his family.

If it’s starting to sound like Obama talked a lot about himself, that’s because he did.

In total, we counted 119 times Obama referred to himself during his speech ostensibly about Hillary Clinton.

    And so it begins.

  45. Fox News Freezeout:

PHILADELPHIA — The Fox News skybox here turns into a hive of activity as the network’s star anchors analyze the Democratic National Convention for millions of viewers.

When the cameras blink off, however, the banter has been replaced by something rarely heard in the television news business: silence.

Megyn Kelly and her co-hosts, including Bret Baier and Brit Hume, have not been speaking during commercial breaks, according to two people with direct knowledge of the anchors’ interactions, who described the on-set atmosphere at Fox News as icy. During ads, the hosts are often absorbed with their smartphones.

L.A. Times tracking poll has Trump rising.
Interesting as you look at the graph..both candidates are about to move out of the “area of uncertainty”. Trump in a positive way, Clinton in a negative way.

  47. Foxy,

Like with Reddit amazing, his energy, already 2 speeches and in between does this. I want some of what he has… $$$$ would be nice too lol

  48. I have been saying it for years, and now Richard is. The problem with our political system is the principal-agent problem. The minute that I, JB, BlowmeObama, Okyattorney go out and start advancing our interests at the expense of our client, we violate the ethical cannons, and run the risk of disbarment. But when a politician, whose client is supposed to be his constitutents, sells them out to the Chinese, the Russians or the Saudis, other politicians say to themselves how can I get some of that action. What has happened, however, is globalization has produced more foreign influence in our election process. Obama himself is the direct result of that corruption. And so is Cain. Caine frightens me not because he is a pissant, which he undoubtedly is, but because he is a wall street shill, no different than Hillary. And what that tells me is that Wall Street controls the party, and gets who and what it wants–namely water carriers like those two, rather than those who represent the American People or the general welfare. Here is Richard’s insights on this, as we witness the firestorm in which the deranged accusation that Putin working for Trump is the one releasing those emails, which is demonstrably false, but sidesteps the more important question of who left the door open, so they were in the public domain, because after that they became live ammunition for anyone with a motive to out the party, for the corruption which they had hoped to keep behind the curtain.
The 2016 political campaign has highlighted the seriousness of the principal-agent problem. This occurs when the agent (a lawyer, or public official) begins to act in his own interests and not those of the principal he represents. Let’s refer to it as the sellout problem.

The emergence of a globalized economy meant that the constituency of politicians broadened to include interests in China, the Middle East, Europe and the former USSR, plus Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America. These happened to include some of the most corrupt tendencies in the world.

It was only a matter of time before Western politicians started working for whoever paid most. That problem has now reached a critical mass and so there is plenty of ammunition and mud to sling around on both sides.

The harder question is how the principal regains control of the agents. How do they realign the incentives of their agents to match those of their “nations”? The answer involves some kind of segmentation — in other words, the return of the nations, the resurrection of the offense of treason, etc., among other things. Trump, whatever his relations to Putin might be, symbolizes the revival of the nation, perhaps falsely, I don’t know. One thing’s for sure: Brexit and the revival of nationalism isn’t accidental or driven purely by bigotry. It is driven by the need to fix the sellout problem.

How did Putin take over the world? The answer may be simple: he had a country, he had a corner to fight and that may have made all the difference.

  49. DRUDGE DNC ON ALERT: SEVERE STORMS STRIKE PHILLY! Heavy Rain, Lightning Prompts Evacuations At The DNC

I think someone upstairs is mighty pissed off.

Oh, that’s right. They only invoke allah in the “interfaith chamber.”

Violent moon gods just aren’t what they used to be, I guess.

  50. FYI…Pacs for Trump – Pence – “together we will make America great again” are ON THE AIR in FLORIDA…

  51. DRUDGE DNC ON ALERT: SEVERE STORMS STRIKE PHILLY! Heavy Rain, Lightning Prompts Evacuations At The DNC
That is A Perfect Storm, with 10,000 George Loonies drowning.

  52. So the Big Dawg and BO could not fix Hillary’s campaign with their speeches. Well Bill pushed BO over the finish line in 2012 and BO returned the favor by promoting BO in his speech.

The DNC looks like a pack of mad loons, planning to kill the country and feast off it’s carcass. The little world they live in, where this is the fun thing to do, is shrinking fast.

I will be forever grateful to Trump for waking the snoozing frogs in the pot. I guess he is OK, but the GOP is still the party that thinks women should be forced to carry unwanted pregnancies to term, because of their religious feelings that should be separate from the state. I feel like ’08 where there was no place in the world for a moderate liberal person in the middle.

  53. The image of 10,000 George (and Amal!) Loonies drowning reminds me of Twain:

“It is a mistake that there is no bath that will cure people’s manners. But drowning would help.”
    – “Marienbad–A Health Factory,” Europe and Elsewhere, 1923

  54. I think Kelly will leave Fox and get a huge offer from one of the major networks to host her own show-she thinks she is the next white Oprah.
