Silent Cavern: Last Rites For #Hillary2016 As @RealDonaldTrump Rises – Plus, #DraftBiden – #BernieSanders – Putin – Syria – Emails – Jarrett

Update: Hickenlooper goes off the leash on Hillary, Trump. That’s Democratic Governor Hickenlooper. Maybe he’s smokin’ weed cause he confirms what we wrote:

Unlike most Republican candidates, Hickenlooper said he believes Clinton has the necessary background needed to run the country.

“But,” he added quickly, “I don’t know where this whole thing is going to go in terms of her … (email) server and whether there is something in there that is really going to turn out to have broken the law — which I think would be the death knell.” [snip]

In terms of the Republican candidates, Hickenlooper blasted Donald Trump but suggested the audience shouldn’t underestimate his campaign.

Donald Trump is saying something that not just Republicans but a lot of people are responding to,” he said. “I think there’s a tremendous frustration that we have all these laws that aren’t being obeyed and that there is this kind of vacuum in our society. The middle class really is getting left behind.

“He is saying the wrong things,” Hickenlooper continued. “But I am old enough that I remember laughing when Ronald Reagan” first surfaced as a presidential candidate.

“So I don’t ever rule Trump out,” Hickenlooper added. “Like the rest of you, I don’t agree with what he is saying — and it makes my blood run cold. I’m very fearful.

There’s also some evidence that bears watching that Hillary might be losing support among black voters.

—————————————————-

A contemptible swine explains why Hillary2016 is on the death-bed. On the Neil Cavuto show a very rich, black, Barack Obama supporter repeats our analysis from years ago which is still relevant today. This dolt supported Barack Obama, not Hillary Clinton in 2008, so his opinion can be dismissed by the reasonable. We think in this instance he is correct despite his past stupidity. Perhaps it was skin color that determined that 2008 foolishness. At least now, this creep realizes that Barack Obama is a failure. Now, Don Peebles regurgitates our analysis:

Peebles advice to Hillary is to “stare them all down.” The “them” is the kook left. Peebles calls Bernie Sanders a “communist” and thinks Hillary is a centrist. On all this he is correct. On all this we wrote about long ago. Hillary2016 must attack the left and the treacherous Barack Obama to survive. Talk about where those misguided kook policies will lead. There are plenty of examples with all the Obama failures. Attack these failures and the author of these failures.

Hillary Clinton is a center left Democrat. She’s a Mayor Ed Koch when she is at her best. Ed Koch used to label himself a “liberal with sanity.” Ed Koch governed with a Clinton-style “middle class governing coalition.” Ed Koch failed when he did not tell the truth about Obama – shortly afterwards Koch died. Hillary2016 faces a similar fate.

In the City Hall where Ed Koch was Mayor there is now the Sandinista failure Bill DeBlasio. In the White House where Bill Clinton once reigned as a liberal with sanity there is now the treacherous Barack Obama whose leanings are so anti-America a Sandinista would be a welcome relief from the Obama policies destroying America within and without. Where is Hillary?

Exactly where is Hillary Clinton? Like dear and departed Clementine, Hillary Clinton is in a cavern. We can put our ear to the opening of that cavern and all that is heard is a cavernous silence. From Hillary there is nothing. There are the silly position papers and the promises that only the gullible listen to. But on the issues of importance, on the reasons why she should be president? Nothing. A cavernous silence. The cavernous silence is by design, purposeful, tactical:

Clinton has held her fire for months as Sanders, the independent senator from Vermont who is seeking the Democratic presidential nomination, first nibbled and then devoured her once-commanding leads in New Hampshire and Iowa. She attacks Republicans daily but studiously avoids mentioning Sanders by name.

With the first Democratic debate slightly more than two weeks away, Clinton is batting away suggestions from antsy supporters that she take on Sanders and his unabashedly far-left views. She insists, people who have spoken to her recently said, that time will prove her right.

Hillary’s refusal to face reality is tactical. It is whistle past the graveyard. Hillary does not want to discuss issues. Hillary just wants to release position papers to avoid discussing issues. Hillary does not want to say what needs to be said because that would be tactically unwise.

Is Bernie Sanders, as Obama fundraiser and clod Donnie Peebles says, a “communist” or not? Hillary is mute. A cavern of silence.

Hillary Clinton in 2008 did not want to confront the clown called Barack Obama. We urged and warned her to hit Obama on all his lies and corruptions while in Chicago. From Hillary, a cavernous silence, until it was too late and Iowa finished her campaign. Hillary had delegates won by her given to Barack Obama by the DNC but there too, a cavernous silence. There were some jabs in unguarded moments but those turned out as nothing more than pebbles falling in the darkness and what we heard was echoes not cannons. Now there is cavernous silence about Bernie Sanders:

“Bernie Sanders is not Barack Obama, for many reasons,” the backer said. “Still, a lot of us remember what it looked like last time,” a reference to Clinton’s 2008 run for the nomination.

Clinton is not ignoring Sanders completely. Last week, for example, she broke her long silence on the proposed Keystone XL pipeline — siding with Sanders against it.

Hillary Clinton is not ignoring Bernie Sanders. Hillary Clinton is imitating Bernie Sanders. It is a cheap imitation. It is not only cheap, it is tactical, and bad tactics at that.

Presidential campaigns should be about issues and contrasting candidate positions and qualifications. Hillary2016 offers no contrasts against her primary opponents. Hillary2016’s bet is that they can ignore Bernie Sanders, cater to his kooks in the primary, beat him, then ignore all that went before and move on to the general election and new lies. The problem will be that with good reason the Bernie Sanders’ kooks will feel lied to and betrayed in the general election. Another problem is that the rest of the electorate will be fed endless Youtubes and position papers written by Hillary2016 that will contradict the newfound general election positions.

The joke in all this is that Bernie Sanders is near irrelevant. Bernie Sanders won’t be the nominee. A more serious contender, who will not be the nominee either, is Joe Biden. This is what we wrote about Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton about two years ago:

Hillary Clinton should position herself as the candidate of “CHANGE!”. Repeat the positions taken in 2008 and note how wise that course would have been. Declare it is “time for a change” to effective leadership and unite the white working class with her campaign for change. Let Joe Biden be the “stay the course” candidate aboard the Titanic. Hillary Clinton 2016 could easily be the lot less scary candidate of “time for a change” which is the default on every Republican 2016 bumper sticker. But cutesie-wutsie won’t get the gold. Yet that muddled message mess is the course Hillary Clinton 2016 is on.

The exact opposite of what we advised needed to be done is the course taken by Hillary2016. From that same article written two years ago we argued Hillary Clinton had to attack Barack Obama especially on his treacherous foreign policy. Our advice from two years ago is fresher today, more important today, more exact today, that it was when written:

It’s not just ObamaCare where the Hillary Clinton 2016 message is a muddled mess. Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State advocated for aid to the Syrian rebels before the Syrian rebels became an Al Qaeda operation. Both former Obama Defense Secretary Bob Gates and Hillary friend and former Obama Defense Secretary Leon Panetta have attacked Obama on Syria. Obama made a mess in Syria with red lines and a yellow streak but from Bill Clinton – who called Obama a “wuss” and a “fool” on Syria – we now hear things turned out O.K. even though they clearly are worse than ever and Assad is permanently in the catbird seat watching Vladimir Putin drive middle east policy.

This past week Vladimir Putin has taken total control of the middle east and middle east policy. From Hillary Clinton and Hillary2016 all we hear is a cavernous silence. The same Vladimir Putin, leader of a Russia in dire economic straits, beats punk Barack Obama and humiliates the United States and from Hillary Clinton silence. What is the point of an election if a leading candidate won’t rationally discuss major events in the world.

Why won’t Hillary Clinton attack Barack Obama on his failures in the middle east? Does Hillary agree with Barack? Does Hillary not agree with Barack? Does anyone give a fu*k anymore? Hillary won’t attack Barack because she does not want to alienate Barack Obama and his treacherous assassins and allied kooks. That’s tactics though. Can we forgive this debasement of politics as tactics? Hells bells we’ve been in politics long enough to be cynical enough to at least understand cynical tactics if they work to achieve the goal. But in Hillary’s case the tactics are so stupid there is no defense. There is no justification. There is just stupidity.

How stupid is stupid? We’ve long argued that Obama and his henchcreatures will never allow Hillary Clinton to be the culmination of their political plots. Hillary Clinton dopes thought they could appease Obama and thereby Hillary could regain control of the party. Obama will never allow Hillary back in the White House and for Hillary Clinton to believe otherwise is sheer stupidity.

Hillary believed that she could move into the White House without attacking treacherous Barack Obama. But appeasement never works. The email “scandal” hit and Hillary thought it wouldn’t matter. And it wouldn’t as long as Barack Obama did not use the email “scandal” as a way to rid himself of this pesky woman. Enter Valerie Jarrett to stick the knife right between Hillary’s shoulder blades:

Valerie Jarrett Throws Hillary Under the Bus on Emails

Obama White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett threw Hillary Clinton under the bus Wednesday at the Washington Ideas Forum, where she told interviewer Andrea Mitchell that the White House gave Clinton guidance forbidding her from using private email.

“Yes, there were. Yeah, absolutely,” Jarrett said when asked if the White House sent guidance to Cabinet secretaries about not using private email. “Obviously we want to make sure that we preserve all government records, and so there was guidance given that government business should be done on government emails and that if you did use a private email that it should be turned over.”

“That’s what she’s doing, as you said as recently as a few minutes ago,” Jarrett added. “And I think she has been asked about this multiple times, including by you Andrea. And I think she said, Look to do it again I probably made a mistake and I wouldn’t do it, and she’s working hard to comply with making sure that everything is pursuant to the Federal Records Act.”

Jarrett says that the White House told Secretary Hillary not to do what she did. Protestations from Jarrett that Hillary “made a mistake” is a red flag to prosecutors and investigators. Valerie Jarrett knows exactly where to stick the knife in. Unfortunately it appears that Hillary is incapable of detecting when a knife is plunged into her back.

Knives in the back are not the only thing Hillary appears unable to sense. For a long time we advised Hillary to hold off as long as possible from announcing a campaign. We suggested around the time of the first Republican debate the window for her announcement should open and that the party so desperately needed Hillary should could wait until the very end of Summer or beginning of Fall to announce. We were told that timeframe was too late. Apparently though, that timeframe is not too late for the Villages Idiot – Joe Biden.

Joe Biden doesn’t think late October is too late. For Joe Biden, the Villages Idiot, it’s always Oktoberfest. Mourning Joe Biden plans to party and its smart for him not to attend the October 13 debate:

He is not preparing for the first Democratic debate on October 13 in Las Vegas and is not expected to participate, people close to him say, because he feels no pressure to reach a decision by then. He is likely to reveal his plans in the second half of October. [snip]

Campaign managers in key early-voting states have already been identified. Dozens of major donors have stepped forward. Domestic and foreign policy advisers are waiting in the wings.

It a first to write “smart” and “Biden” in one sentence. But it is smart for Mourning Joe to miss the first debate. Mourning Joe can wait to see if Hillary finally distinguishes herself from Communist Bernie Sanders and can enjoy as O’Malley and the rest of kookdom attack Hillary. Maybe, just maybe, a few punches in the face will wake Hillary up. Maybe. Maybe.

Have no doubt, Hillary Clinton will do very well in the first debate on October 13. She’s that good. She’ll have all the answers and will have gamed every circumstance. But that’s hardly a compliment. She’s running against dopes, mopes, and a communist, or at least a self-identified Socialist who is not even a member of the party he is running in, so it is hardly a compliment to say that she will wipe the floor with these bags of protoplasm.

How bad is it for Hillary2016? The bag of protoplasm who is either a communist but definitely a socialist has effectively beaten her in the race Hillary was supposed to win hands down. The money race:

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton technically beat Bernie Sanders by $2 million in the chase for campaign cash over the past three months. But that isn’t the story — not even close.

Clinton held 58 fundraising events to raise her total; Sanders held seven. As of the end of September, Sanders had brought in 1.3 million total donations from 650,000 individuals since he began running. Clinton’s campaign did not release how many total donors she has. And Sanders ended September with $25 million in the bank; Clinton did not release how much money her campaign had on hand.

Hillary is hemorrhaging cash every day to raise cash. Hillary is bleeding cash to maintain her huge operation while Sanders runs a communist style insurgency spending little cash to make cash. Does this sound like 2008? It’s worse than 2008.

Sanders is not a serious candidate for president. But then again neither was Barack Obama. Of course Barack Obama had the advantage of the race-baiting and support from the establishment in the form of Ted Kennedy, Pelosi, Reid, and the DNC under Howard Dean. Sanders has the advantage that he is a pawn of Obama. The other Obama pawn is Joe Biden. Al Gore is the latest entrant in wannabee pawn follies. None of these buffoons will be the nominee. They are pawns to bring down Hillary2016 so the real Obama candidate may emerge.

On the Republican side of the game there are pawns arrayed by the GOP establishment to stop Donald Trump. We’ve written plenty about that chess game. The moves Donald Trump has made on that presidential chess board should instruct Hillary2016 but thus far Donald Trump is a master teacher without a pupil in Hillary.

Donald J. Trump recognizes, targets, then attacks his opponents. Donald Trump recognizes that the GOP establishment is in the bag for Jeb Bush. So Trump carpet bombs Jeb Bush. As pawns raise their heads against Trump, The Donald plays wack-a-mole with them. But always Trump “recognizes” then “targets” then “attacks” his opponents. The key element is “recognize” your opponent.

You have to recognize who your opponent is before you can target and attack that opponent. It’s one of the big reasons why so many wisely object when American policymakers under instruction from treacherous Obama won’t “recognize” the opponent called “Muslim terrorists”. You can’t beat them if you don’t recognize them and call them out.

Donald Trump knows who his enemy is. Hillary seems oblivious to the fact that Barack Obama and his Kook left are her enemy. It’s not socialist/communist St. Bernard, or Biden, or Gore, or Chaffee, or that guy from Baltimore. Barack Obama is the enemy of Hillary2016.

On issue after issue Hillary Clinton must confront Barack Obama. Hillary can’t whine about Syrian refugees, can’t boast about her support of attacks against Syrian President Assad, without discussion of the utter failure, or is it treachery, of Barack Obama:

Only four or five U.S-trained Syrian fighters remain on the battlefield against militants with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, the top U.S. commander in the Middle East acknowledged Wednesday in the face of withering criticism from senators who dismissed the training program as a “total failure” and demanded a change of strategy.

Gen. Lloyd Austin told the Senate Armed Services Committee that the U.S. is looking at better ways to deploy the Syrian forces, but he agreed that the U.S. will not reach its goal of training 5,000 in the near term.

Hillary Clinton’s response to this debacle? Mush:

“Where we are today is not where we were. And where we are today is that we have a failed program,” Clinton said. But she added later, “I wouldn’t give up on train and equip, but I sure would push the Pentagon to take a hard look at why what has been done has been such a failure and what more we can do to support Kurdish fighters who are on the front line.”

Was there thunderous denunciation of Barack Obama the author of this catastrophe by Hillary? No. Just a few echoes from the cavern along with a call to bring into the United States, and only then vet, 65,000 Syrians(?) or those who pose as refugees along with more U.N. conferences and blah, mush, blah. This mush of weakness came from Hillary as a response to a call from Baltimore O’Malley to bring in 65,000 Syrians(?). From the cavern no attacks against the man in charge of this epic failure.

On issue after issue, mush from Hillary Clinton and Hillary2016. Day after day shadow-boxing from Hillary2016 but no punches against the man who casts the shadow. The man who casts the shadow over Hillary2016 is Barack Obama. Hillary Clinton remains in the cavern excavating her own doom.

If Hillary Clinton does not get out of the cavern to become the candidate of massive CHANGE with massive attacks against Barack Obama – then Hillary2016 is lost and gone forever. Dreadful sorry. Oh my darling, oh my darling, lost and gone forever. No more mush. Take a page from Trump.

It’s CHANGE or die.

  1. God bless you admin. Your truth, your insight and your passion. It makes the dismal science of politics interesting and much easier to follow.

So much of what passes for political commentary today is written for other journalists, not the public, invokes the same bromides, and is bloodless as a corpse.

  2. Jeb Bush knows he can’t hit Trump, so he picks on poor wittle Rubio. Calls him an Obama:

    http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2015/10/01/jeb_bush_turns_on_marco_rubio_compares_him_to_obama.html

JEB BUSH: I think I have the leadership skills to fix things, and that is my strength, and that is what I talk about. And Marco was a member of the [Florida] House of Representatives when I was governor, and he followed my lead, and I am proud of that.

QUESTION, MORNING JOE: You do not think [Rubio] has the skills to fix things?

BUSH: No. Barack Obama didn’t end up having them, and he won an election based on the beleif (sic) that people had that he could.

  3. Wackadoodle two headed dentist next to get extracted?

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2015/10/01/rand-paul-raises-2-5-million-in-second-quarter/?postshare=7071443726933556

Rand Paul raises $2.5 million in second quarter [snip]

One of the first candidates to officially declare for the White House, Paul had raised close to $7 million from April through June. That was slightly more than his father, former Texas Congressman Ron Paul, raised in the comparable period of his 2012 bid. But in the second quarter of that campaign, Ron Paul raised $8 million.

Gor emphasized that the new Paul campaign was on an “upward trend,” especially since the second presidential debate. Paul had used that forum emphasize his more libertarian stances, something some key Paul donors had privately asked for. “That was due to a solid debate performance that got our crowd excited,” said Gor. “We’re a solid campaign and our fundraising pace is doubling.”

But the dropoff from the first quarter, coupled with the troubles of two pro-Paul super PACs, could aid the ongoing efforts of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) to lure supporters into his camp. The weeks between the first and second debate saw one pro-Paul super PAC’s leaders indicted, and another (less active) pro-Paul PAC announce that it was pausing its efforts until the candidate improved in the polls. The campaign has $2 million cash on hand, having already spent $250,000 to help the Republican Party of Kentucky pay for a presidential caucus. That will let Paul seek a Senate re-election as he tries to forge ahead in the White House race — something the campaign says it has more than enough money and momentum to do.

Paul’s campaign thinks he did well in the 2nd Debate? That this paultry sum can keep his campaign functioning for months? What’s the name of that Egyptian river again?

At least Cruz is happy with this news and not without reason.

    I couldn’t agree more, Admin.

Up until this point, I really don’t think Hillary cares about being President. She is not acting like herself and I will not vote for a silent victim.

Not one person on Big Pink thinks she is doing a good job running for President, not one of us is confident that she will do a 180 before it’s too late.

Admin, what is your opinion of the race if Jeb gets the primary win and Trump has to run as an independent? Will that force a win for Hillary, even though she has thus far run a very, very $hitty race???

Up until this point, I really don’t think Hillary cares about being President.
    _________________________________________________________________________

I swear, I’ve come to that conclusion as well. There is NO way any human with an IQ over 70 could be so absolutely tone deaf. Must be some money in it for her because she absolutely does not act like she wants to be elected and I can’t fathom why she’d go through the trouble of a campaign if she didn’t want to be elected.

  6. I think If he becomes the official GOP candidate, Jeb will lose to Hillary whether or not Donald runs as an independent. If Hillary is thrown off the train by Obama, then Jeb will probably win over whoever becomes the Dim’s candidate. On the other hand, if Trump is the official GOP candidate, then even Hillary will have a big fight on her hands if she still becomes the Democratic Party’s official candidate.

  7. Blow

I can’t fathom why she’d go through the trouble of a campaign if she didn’t want to be elected.

    —–

Agreed, and why would she put herself in this race if she knew how big of a target she would be and after all the backs-tabs she received in 2008, it doesn’t make sense to me.

Go though all this heartache for people that turned their backs on her, made fun of her, and stole the election from her.

Not even the Big Dawg is acting like himself.

  8. I have been much thinking that Hillary does not really want to be POTUS as being the only explanation for her running such a terrible campaign. She actually has some idiot staffer putting up quite a few posts in Spanish on her FB page. The pics do not translate and the translations they have are bad. Her FB and website are poor, with information on her best stuff, not easily accessible.

Maybe she is being pushed as a sense of duty, unfurnished business of Bill’s administration, or just concern for her granddaughter’s future? Or maybe her campaign just has …. Obola.

  9. Shadowfax, we pretty much agree with Tony Stark on this one. If it’s Hillary v. Jeb! then Hillary wins because it will be a conventional grind it out campaign. It won’t be about anything but a “win” whatever that might be under the circumstances. Her presidency would be a grind it out presidency with both sides out to get her. It would be a mess and 4 more years of Obama. Doubt the country could handle that divide. The only logic to the Hillary2016 campaign is to hope Jeb gets the GOP nomination.

If Trump gets it, we think Hillary loses unless she makes a convincing 180 degree turn against Obama and even then….

But if it is a Jeb v. Hillary race we think someone or someones else would get in. Maybe Bloomberg. Jeb can win if someone like Sanders gets in the race or anyone that sends the election to the elecoral college.

  10. There are messages out on that Oregon shooting that it was religion related. Has anyone heard anything?

  11. I just want to know WHY??? Why does she not get it? If she gets it, why does she not respond as if she does? How many times does she have to get thrown under the bus before she sees the tire marks? Dammit to hell this is just too frustrating.

  12. and I followed instructions on the ladies for Trump website and changed my voter registration. Closed primary here in WV and it might not be over by the time ours is

    http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/10/01/officials-active-shooter-oregon-college/73153610/

One student, Kortney Moore, 18, told News Review-Today that she was in her writing class in Snyder Hall when a single shot came through a window.

Moore said she saw her teacher get shot in the head, apparently after the gunman came into the classroom. At that point, Moore told the newspaper, the shooter ordered everyone to get on the ground. The shooter then asked people to stand up and state their religion and then started firing, Moore said..

  14. Of course Hillary’s FB page posted a muddled message about gun control with respect to yet another shooting. Just something else that does not work. In China they have gun control so now that things are getting bad, they are using bombs.

    BEIJING—

A new explosion rocked a residential building in southern China on Thursday, a day after 17 mail bomb explosions killed at least seven people and wounded 52 others.

  16. According to the governor, the community college is a gun free school and they had one unarmed security guard. When will gun control advocates ever realize that gun-free areas are exactly lay what makes them so attractive a target to psychos with guns?

It is UNBELIEVABLE that the American Press is SO IN BED WITH Obama, with ALL that is going on in the world, that they “fail” to report NO USA representation was present with Bibi’s speech.

God I hate sounding lie a “birther” but it MUST BE CLEAR BY NOW that Barak Obama has ZERO INTEREST in protecting Israel OR the USA from Muslim terrorists.

HOW MANY INSTANCES does it take?

    —–

    Back to the post

  18. Tony Stark, there is no such thing as a gun free zone. There isn’t. Why can’t everyone understand that? You need a gun to enforce a gun free zone ergo… it is not a gun free zone. The lawless or the insane don’t respect gun free zones so you will always need a gun to enforce a gun free zone. The most the law can provide is a gun restricted zone for lawless citizens, which of course the lawless won’t give a whit about. As you write, a “gun-free” area is like a shooting gallery at a freak show – that’s where you can go to kill in peace. A “gun-free” zone is really only a free range shooting gallery for the criminal or the insane.

An apartment building or a school can have a rule against guns which might make sense but only until someone who is not sensible decides to violate that rule.

Well said! It just amazes me how wedded left wing loons are to the dogma that guns are to blame and not the actual people who use them to kill.

  21. Well I checked my voter registration and I am still a registered Democrat. Here in Florida, you can change parties up to 29 days before the election.

Jeb Bush knows he can’t hit Trump, so he picks on poor wittle Rubio. Calls him an Obama:
    ——
Well, Tony started it all, this business of old sayings, so here’s one that applies to Boooosh and his decision to throw a haymaker at how much is that doggie in the window, the one with the waggily tail, how much is that doggie in the window, I do hope that doggies for sale if you are a donor fear not, he is (for sale):

“Even a blind pig (named Boosh) finds an acorn, once in a while.”

And, be still my heart, two truths in the same interview. Boosh’s strength is “fixing things”. A Freudian slip, perhaps??? This is a wonderful statement really. It makes the ignoranti believe he is competent, while reassuring his donors, yes, the doggie with the waggily tail is, indeed, for sale.

  23. The other thing – as horrible as the Oregon (Sandy Hook, Aurora, Charlestn, etc.) are, the POYUS blames the USA and ‘GUNS!” when almost everyone in the Middle East has guns, kills with impunity, beheads, drowns, burns, etc., but narry a word is spoken by POTUS. He says the “civilized world” (meaning the West) should shun this crap…but it seems it’s AOK form him Brotherhood.

  24. I can’t imagine that Bernie Sanders is anything but what he seems, but isn’t it convenient that he is pulling Hillary to the extreme left leaving a vacuum in the center. Especially when everything in me says Jeb was/is planning to run in the center.

  25. From his perspective, i.e. primogenture, he is right to attack Rubio.

This attack is not aimed at the public however. It is aimed at the donors, who see that he is a dead cat bounce of a candidate, and are looking for someone else they can control. I had lunch with an attorney the other day who claims Rubio is like Kennedy and he offends no one. Well, I don’t much like four flushers so I told him he offends me. But he has a point. He could be dolled up, promoted the way Obama is, swaddled by big media, and presto we have a Hispanic version of Obama. And what I ask you is not to love about that. Talk about building a better mousetrap, and like they said about Obama, gosh, he has so much hope for the country. I mean it fucking works!!

  26. I remember when Sarah Palin head faked the media by saying “Party like it is 1773”. The media got all tingly telling us see we told ya, Sarah Palin is dumb till someone told them the tea party was in 1773 – I loved that moment. I know it is pie in the sky, but I hope Hillary is doing the greatest all time head fake and somewhere in those emails there is undeniable evidence of Obama and Jarrett’s treason.

  27. Hillary Clinton in 2008 did not want to confront the clown called Barack Obama. We urged and warned her to hit Obama on all his lies and corruptions while in Chicago. As I indicated at the time, I had a discussion on this with Ann Lewis at a high value fundraiser here in Seattle around November 2007, and she told me Hillary did not want us to attack Obama, but to simply define the differences, even though he and his goon squad were attacking her and Bill. South Carolina should have been the tipping point, but it was not. The tipping point never happened.

Argentine President: Obama Official Wanted Nuclear Fuel for Iran in 2010

Earier this week Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, President of Argentina for nearly eight years, spoke before the United Nations General Assembly in New York City and claimed that in 2010 the Obama administration tried to convince the Argentinians to provide Iran with nuclear fuel, a key component of nuclear weapons, reports Mediaite.

“In 2010 we were visited in Argentina by Gary Samore, at that time the White House’s top advisor in nuclear issues. He came to see us in Argentina with a mission, with an objective: under the control of IAEA, the international organization in the field of weapons control and nuclear regulation, Argentina had supplied in the year 1987, during the first democratic government, the nuclear fuel for the reactor known as ‘Teheran.’

Gary Samore had explained to our Minister of Foreign Affairs, Héctor Timerman, that negotiations were underway for the Islamic Republic of Iran to cease with its uranium enrichment activities or to do it to a lesser extent but Iran claimed that it needed to enrich this Teheran nuclear reactor and this was hindering negotiations. They came to ask us, Argentines, to provide the Islamic Republic of Iran with nuclear fuel. Rohani was not in office yet. It was Ahmadinejad’s administration and negotiations had already started.”

In light of the nuclear deal Obama and Kerry just struck with Iran, these are eye-opening allegations to say the least. The agreement includes restrictions on the amount of nuclear fuel that Iran can keep for the next 15 years. Why the U.S. attempted to secretly enable Iran to enrich nuclear fuel just five years ago is a puzzlement, as Yul Brynner might say.

    Kirchner continued:

“…Argentina’s contribution to this negotiation process…was impossible. [However] The Minister of Foreign Affairs came to see me in my office, and I remember this very clearly, and I said that if this request were made in writing and signed, we could, after all, cooperate.”

Kirchner went on to say at the U.N. that when Samore was asked to provide his request in writing, all communications immediately ceased and Samore vanished:

“This message was conveyed and I believe that was the last time, after that communication, that our Minister of Foreign Affairs saw Gary Samore.”

I agree with you and Tony, except I am not positive that Repubs will actually go out and vote for Trump, any more than they did with McPalin or Mitt.

It seems that the closer to the center a GOP candidate runs, the less Reps come to the polls. In my opinion, Trump is a centrist leaning right, while Hillary leans a little more to the left than I can stomach, especially with immigration.

Therefore, I think it might be a close election between Hillary and Trump, leaving Jeb to the far right wing in the dust.

  35. Hillary: Making The Same Mistake Twice

By Dick Morris on October 1, 2015

The last fundraising report indicates that the Sanders-Clinton match has all the hallmarks of the Obama-Clinton race of 2008 with Hillary making all the same mistakes now that she did then:

    • As her momentum has slows, so has Hillary’s fund raising. In the winter — second quarter — she raised $48 million but in the third quarter, this past summer, she raised only $28 million. And, in contrast, Sanders has plenty of momentum. He raised only $10 million in the second quarter but put up an impressive $26 million in the third quarter, more than doubling his haul.

    • Hillary is doing the same old traditional rolodex fundraising to get her money, phoning donors who max out, going to 58 fund raisers this quarter, and soliciting money hand over fist. The problem now, as in 2008, is that when the going gets tough and she needs financial reinforcements, her donors will be maxed out and unable to give more.

    • Meanwhile, Sanders is raising his money through the internet. He has gotten 1.3 million donations from 650,000 different people, putting him the same class with Obama’s 2008 campaign. Back then, while Hillary sweated over her rolodex raising money with her best people maxed out, Obama had only to push the Send button on his computer to re-solicit money from his small donors, none of whom was maxed out. Sanders’ money will come in more and more easily as his internet base gives and gives again.

    • While Hillary has refused to reveal her cash-on-hand, her very reluctance attests to the likelihood that Bernie, right now, about equals her in that category. Sanders has about $25 million on hand, according to the New York Times. In her earlier report, Hillary indicated that she had spent 40% of her fundraising intake. As in 2008, Hillary is showing no discipline in spending money, assuming that her front runner status would last forever. In Ed Klein’s new book, Unlikeable: The Problem With Hillary, he chronicles how Bill urged his wife to hire high priced Obama consultants and operatives to lock them up so no other candidate could get them. Now, she has an overhead that will stagger her.

Hillary’s slowdown in fundraising will likely get worse as the specter of Joe Biden looms ever larger over her campaign and her poll numbers continue to drop.

So far, the Sanders vs. Clinton primary campaign looks like a rerun of the Obama vs. Clinton campaign. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

The Facebook CEO was overheard responding that “we need to do some work” on curtailing anti-immigrant posts about the refugee crisis. “Are you working on this?” Merkel asked in English, to which Zuckerberg replied in the affirmative before the transmission was disrupted.

🙂 The tattoos are already there Tony, “under they bloomers”.

The Rethugs let Obama win in 2008 because they refused to vote for McPalin…they were all tattooed that day, in my book.

  42. The crazed major party establishments. One thinks Joe Biden is salvation. One thinks Mitt Romney is salvation. The crazy continues with a potential third:

    http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/article/2573177

Amid the extraordinary amount of campaign news these days, it was striking Wednesday that Mike Allen, Politico’s well-connected chief political reporter, devoted not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, but six paragraphs of his newsletter to the virtually nonexistent presidential prospects of former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

In an item headlined “The Conversation,” Allen wrote that the billionaire businessman “has gotten a new surge of pleas to run for president over the past month, making him the most-buzzed-about current non-candidate whose name isn’t Joe Biden.” Allen reported that Bloomberg is “politely waving off” entreaties that he run, but that he could change his mind.

According to Allen, there are several reasons the people who are buzzing about Bloomberg want to see him in the race. The Democrats among them are Clinton supporters worried about Clinton. The Republicans are Jeb supporters worried about Jeb. Everyone is appalled by Trump. The decline of Bush and Clinton, these unnamed supporters believe, “reflects an unpopularity with traditional politicians and makes Bloomberg more attractive.”

Really? Despite trial balloons in 2008 and 2012 and, perhaps, today, no one has ever pointed to a groundswell of support for a Bloomberg presidential candidacy. And certainly not an independent Bloomberg presidential candidacy. [snip]

In June, the New York Post’s Michael Goodwin reported that some New York Democrats were appealing to Bloomberg to jump in the race. “Their argument is that Clinton’s vulnerability with general-election voters, especially independents, could result in a Republican president,” Goodwin wrote. “They also believed Bloomberg could be interested because, as one of them told me, ‘Mike can’t stand Hillary.'”

That’s about it. As in the past, the talk — and there’s nothing more than talk — suggests little interest in Bloomberg beyond the confines of New York City. But now there is even more talk. And Democratic strategist — New York Democratic strategist — Hank Sheinkopf says there is legitimate reason for it. “It’s the great hope that many people have that a centrist of accomplishment could run up the middle and deal with what appears to be chaos,” says Sheinkopf, who worked with Bloomberg in the 2009 mayoral race. “Because of his business success, he would be seen as someone who can fix the nation’s economic problems, fix our problems with China, has the trust of the business community, has run the nation’s biggest city, has been an advocate for gun control, for health, and an environmentalist.”

And, in a line that many Trump supporters use about the only billionaire currently in the race, Sheinkopf added: “He cannot be corrupted by money.”

Despite the talk of an independent run, Allen notes that Bloomberg has “never been convinced it’s doable.” That’s an understatement. In an interview with New York magazine two years ago, Bloomberg was asked “Can you really rule out running for president in 2016?” His answer: “Yes. It’s just impossible. I am 100 percent convinced that you cannot in this country win an election unless you are the nominee of one of the two major parties. The second thing I am convinced of is that I could not get through the primary process with either party.”

Nevertheless, the talk goes on. Allen notes that Bloomberg “could change his mind if somehow both parties wound up with a nominee he considered unelectable.” It’s an unusual line of reasoning, because if the race comes down to a Republican and a Democrat, one of them will be elected, whether Bloomberg deems them unelectable or not. So it’s perhaps more accurate to say Bloomberg would consider getting in if both parties wind up with candidates he really doesn’t like. But it’s vastly more likely that Bloomberg will eventually return to what he said about an independent run not too long ago: It’s just impossible.

It’s all about how to stop Trump.

  43. In an early episode of Law and Order, the black assistant Assistant District Attorney agonizes over whether by enforcing the law in a color blind manner he is doing a disservice to people of his race, because equal enforcement does not always achieve equal results depending on where you start from. That is the whole premise of affirmative action which ultimately leads to a racial spoils system such as we see in spades in the Obama administration. But when you examine the question in a specific case, the equities are not always the same.

The black ada asks his boss do you think you did the right thing enforcing the law, and his boss the Executive District Attorney Ben Stone responds, Paul, that depends on whether you see yourself as a black attorney, or as an attorney who happens to be black.

The same sort of thing is going on now, in the Republican Party. There are three Hispanic candidates.

The first is of course Bush, who wishes he were borne Hispanic, has mastered the various dialogues of the language, i.e. Puerto Rican, Cuban, South American and of course Mexican–a remarkable linguistic tour de force. So much so, that I begin to wonder whether somewhere in his pedigree past, a bitch jumped over the wall, but of course we all know better. As bloodlines go his could scarcely be bluer.

Second, we have Rubio, the son of a bar tender and hotel maid, so he has told us just short of a million times. Marco (rhymes with bunco) is a character study in Doctor Jekel and Mr. Hyde, depending upon whether he is speaking to an American audience in English, or a Hispanic audience in Spanish. He is now challenging his mentor, which shows he has no loyalty. But all’s fair in love, war, and politics.

Third, there is Ted Cruz, who is a legal genius, Cuban by birth, but a full blooded American, as opposed to a poseur.

Bush, Rubio and Cruz–all of them are Hispanics. If you apply the Stone rule above, Bush and Rubio are Hispanic candidates, whereas Cruz, god blesss him, is an American candidate who happens to be Hispanic. The only other thing I would say is that pasty smile of Jebediah’s is sickening to look at. But he is a geek so he cannot help it. All he needs is a top hat and a cigarette Holder and we have got FDR in drag.

But inasmuch as the elites have already rigged the primary so that Bush will win with only 20% of the vote, how can an opponent prevent Jebediah from achieving that 20%, through the same methods honed in the Missippi primary–racism, walk around money, etc. The answer is the putative opponent must get the two of them, Boosh and Marco the red, fighting tooth and nail over who is the real Hispanic. That may be the only way to stop them, because it would divide the donor money and further complicate their rigged roadmap to victory.

  46. Obama: Mass shootings are ‘something we should politicize’

I am not making this up.

Thirteen people are dead and over twenty injured (this number is in flux as I write) in a spree shooting at Umpqua Community College and the first thing out of Rabble-Rouser-in-Chief Barack Obama’s mouth are about gun control. In what approached the status of spittle-flecked rant, Obama said,

“This is something that should be politicized. It is relevant to our common life together, our body politic.”

Let’s be clear on this. Obama does not care about dead bodies in the street. If he did he’d set up a tent in Chicago so he could be on site as a dozen or so people are killed or wounded each weekend. He won’t do that because those people are primarily black or Hispanic and he knows his liberal base thinks that is just what minorities do. If he was really interested in dead bodies he’d be down on the Arizona-Mexico border where the actions of his own Justice Department have made that area a war zone by illegally passing weapons to unauthorized buyers. If he actually cared he would have shown some vague interest when a military recruiting station was shot up in Chattanooga. He is, allegedly, the commander-in-chief. But he couldn’t show concern because the shooter was a Muslim radical (or radical Muslim, YMMV). He could have shown concern when three Muslim students were gunned down in North Carolina but the shooter was one of his lunatic supporters.

What Obama cares about is gun control. This is part of his hostility to the Bill of Rights. He wants to use Rahm Emanuel’s dictum of never let a crisis go to waste to ram through some kind of increased gun control regime where the problem today is a) existing gun laws are not being enforced because if they were there would be fewer of these shootings and b) the proliferation of “gun free zones”, like this community college and like the Chattanooga recruiting station, are like catnip to spree killers.

We don’t even know what happened here and already Obama is demanding new laws. To what end? Of the notable mass shootings. those with the correct victim characteristics to merit Obama’s outrage, all of the weapons have been procured legally.

His real goal is to make Second Amendment groups radioactive and prevent them from contesting his petty power grabs. He has attempted the same with political opponents and advocates of religious freedom. This is not an stand alone event, it is the pattern of his entire tenure in office.

  47. Must be some money in it for her because she absolutely does not act like she wants to be elected and I can’t fathom why she’d go through the trouble of a campaign if she didn’t want to be elected.

Maybe there’s a monetary reward for running, or maybe running prevents a bad thing from happening..? Blackmail…?

But…. I can see running an Obama III campaign because of blackmail, but not *running itself* because of blackmail.

In regards to her running an Obama III campaign (and hiring Obama staffers), I can only think of a few options:
    1) she’s not so smart after all
    2) she’s being blackmailed
    3) she really DOES believe her obola stances (ie, she has changed, or else 2008 was the fake Hillary)
    4) she got brain damage when she fell

If she does 180 during the campaign, it will only be talk, and I don’t know that I could trust that. If she were elected and did 180, that would be one thing, I could then trust her previous 180 words because I could see action matching words.

But in the campaign, it’s just words. It would have been fine if she were still Hillary 2008 (well, I can’t go for the amnesty she has always wanted). But she hasn’t just tacked a little left for the primaries – she’s a whole other person. She.is.Obama.

So I don’t know that I could trust any upcoming 180. And Trump already says the things I like, and I feel strongly that he means what he says.

  48. wbboei – I suppose getting guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens helps prevent people from fighting globalization.

It drives me nuts when the first thing they do is blame guns (unless the shooter is a lefty, like Giffords’ shooter – then it was Palin’s fault). People freak out about these mass shootings, and pay no attention to the fact that more people are killed in our country every weekend, often just in Chicago alone.

I don’t know. I don’t even pretend to know. Like Sgt Schultz I know nothing. Like Obama I know less than nothing, pretend to know everything, ergo NYT treats what I say as gospel. Wait a minute. Let me reverse engineer all that. If I do not want the approval of NYT, then I must concede that I do not know everything, may indeed no nothing but how can I be sure about that, or that I am pretending to pretend I know nothing, because I really don’t know. I feel much better now thank you.

That said, it may just be that she cast aside the Roosevelt coalition for the coalition of the Obama coalition and has dedicated herself to that playbook, with Obama handlers who encourage her to think that they and they alone hold the key to the White House, and have a computer program designed for them by Eric Schmit of Goggle with a .000001 margin of error to which I say:

“This new ship here is fitted according to the reported increase of knowledge among mankind. Namely, she is cumbered end to end, with bells and trumpets and clock and wires, it has been told to me, can call voices out of the air of the waters to con the ship while her crew sleep. But sleep Thou lightly. It has not yet been told to me that the Sea has ceased to be the Sea.”

  50. Since no battle plan survives the first engagement, it follows as day follows night that the Republican playbook for winning the primary election, and the Google plan for the democrats to win the general election cannot guarantee success. Nevertheless, a consultant can make a lot of money putting forth these paint by the numbers schemes, and making people believe this is possible. Just Karl Rove who collected $400 million from donors and failed to win a single election, OR fast Eddie Gillespee who ripped off Romney for a cool $36 million heist and lost the general election, and to prove this was not just a fluke put his world class skills to a test himself running for a senate seat, and got his ass handed to him. Where Hillary is concerned she needs to read what Morris says which is posted above. She is spending money like a drunken sailor. She needs to get that under control. It is a known fact that the Republicans will raise more money for the 2016 presidential campaign than either party was able to raise in 2008, and she will be at a big disadvantage is the well runs dry because she spent it all in the beginning, hiring a bunch of one trick pony Obama re tread fucks.

Hi, I only glanced at your article and will have to go back and finish it, but I can’t help but with I could read the meeting minutes of United Against Nuclear Iran for the last 7 years. I don’t know what to think about Mr. Samore.

    First paragraph from link:
“WASHINGTON — When the bipartisan advocacy group United Against Nuclear Iran decided last week to mobilize opposition against the nuclear deal with Tehran, Gary Samore knew he could no longer serve as its president.”

  56. What Hick is saying in effect is Donald is saying the things the democrats are saying, but are not. None of them except for Bernie. They can call him all the names in the book, but the truth is exactly what Morris says, and it is not clear to me that Biden is bullet proof even with Obama’s support. The best thing about a Bernie Sanders candidacy is it splits the party open between white liberals like we see so many of in Seattle, and inner city blacks who will do anything Obama says including jump off a building. He need only say it, and they jump. That split would leave an operation scar for years to come. Hillary could see this if she was not surrounded by traitors, and counseled by the likes of them for a big fee.

The Manhattan elites have had it pretty rough these days, with their loonie bin mayor. No wonder they enraptured with a Jimminy Cricket candidacy. Yes, Bloomie is their guy, because he is anti gun, pro environment, too rich to be corruptible (which still leaves open he possibility that he will be corrupted by things other than money), and most important he has taken no pledge to tax hedge fund profits, or dismantle Dodd Frank. Two pointed questions by a financial industry reporter who according to Trump are honest compared to their political reporters who are just corrupt as hell, would either confirm that Bloomie, unlike Trump is willing to give them a pass, or, if he doubles down on Trump’s position on taxing hedge funds, their interest in him will quickly dissipate.

Here, there, everywhere, the opposition to Trump which you have noted comes from people who enjoy a privileged position in the political system the way the cards are currently stacked, and will resort to any means to preserve that position, and continue the game of fucking the American People like a house cat. Therefore, any opposition to Trump coming from these people is ipso facto suspect.

Those on the far left are either ignorant of the changes occurring in the attitudes and beliefs of a large and growing number of Americans, or have chosen to ignore it – believing that in so doing it will go away. They could not be more wrong. This is not jus a pendulum swing, although it would be easy and convenient to characterize as such. Neither side of the political establishment has yet fully grasped the significance or strength of this shift, imho.

The old stand-by paradigms and talking points of both parties of the political establishment are becoming rapidly irrelevant. The establishment players in both both parties are out of touch with America and Americans.

This change ain’t no tea-party. It’s much bigger than that.

  59. Sadly, the converse of what I said above is also true: Biden is the only candidate of the three who can hold the party together. Why? Because:

    1. first, he would turn out the blacks because he has been loyal to president douchebag, unlike Hillary or Sander.

    2. second, he could turn out the white liberals because he has been loyal to the douchebag president, unlike Hillary.

    3. third, he could turn out the donors because, unlike Sander, he has been loyal to a douchebag president who fucked the country, but protected the elites.

And, of course, his wife wants him to run.

What is sad about this is he is even more of a loon than Sanders. He is an expert on foreign affairs for example, yet he has managed to get it wrong on EVERY foreign affairs question over the past forty years. Moreover, he is a gaff master who makes Dan Quale look positively Socratic.

  60. Correction: Hillary has been loyal, but white liberals do not accept her because of her connections to Wall Street, and Bill’s post 1994 Wall Street friendly policies which cut back on the welfare state, and promoted things like NAFTA, elimination of Glass Steegel etc.

  61. Sander is like the dog who chases the car. If he ever caught it, he would not know how to drive. I shudder to think who he would bring in to teach him. And he would have a tough time working with Congress 98% of whom are in the bag for Wall Street. Maybe in some alternative universe this would work, but not here. The system would implode. The only one who can solve the problems we have is Donald. We do not need a left wing ideologue–we have one now, and he is a complete joke when it comes to solving problems. We need a turn around artist, and that is exactly what Trump is about. Turn the country around before it is too late. Yet, the elites tell us that he is not a true Republican, as if that should matter. The charge is laughable.

  62. 1. Political leadership, not military prowess, is America’s Achilles’ Heel.

    2. “Agency costs” in this context, are the risk of betrayal.

    3. The growing gap between the political class and the voters mean agency costs have risen so high that voters are rightly skeptical of supporting any military conflict whatsoever.

    4. There is no assurance the political class won’t decide to “lose”, that is to maximize the agent’s interests over the principal’s.

    5. This is true in all areas of the federal government. It is why voters want an outsider in 2016.
    ————————————–

One quote all military historians know is ”amateurs talk about tactics, but professionals study logistics.”

The momentum of logistics is equally compelling in withdrawal as on the attack. The Afghan government is now under mortal threat from and Islamic army. What can America do? As the Taliban rolls into the Warduj districtafter taking Kunduz, the fundamental limits to any US counterattack are imposed by the fact the Obama administration has already pulled the supply plug on the forces there. The iron momentum of logistics is now in play.

Once the Obama administration had taken the decision to pull out certain things were inevitable. Although there were some efforts by the Afghan government to slow down the pace of withdrawal, the general direction of things was fixed.

However threatening the Taliban offensive becomes, the avalanche of logistics now has a momentum all of its own. The timing of the Islamic assault was probably no coincidence. The Taliban have been watching the Obama policy for years. All they had to do was wait till things passed the point of no return and then strike.

This is not to say that rushing troops back is a good idea. Afghanistan was a strategic dead end from the beginning and deserved only to be a holding action. But it was Obama himself who redefined Afghanistan as the “war of necessity” as contrasted to his predecessor’s Middle Eastern “war of choice”. Current events are ironically turning his strategy on its head. The underlying strategic importance of the Middle East is fast transforming it once again into a theater of necessity — which it always was — while his Afghan “war of necessity” is turning into a defeat — and an unnecessary one at that.

Perhaps the most tragic thing about Afghanistan is that the president picked a useless objective and made the decision to lose it at the greatest possible cost.

Political leadership, not military prowess, is America’s Achilles’ Heel.

Keith Nightingale writing in War on the Rocks tried to examine the question of why America keeps losing at the end of a unbroken string of tactical successes. ”Why is America tactically terrific but strategically slipshod?”

This is a puzzle I have always wondered about since I was a lieutenant on my first Vietnam tour and experienced consistent strategic failures through the several desert wars. How come the finest fighting force on the planet seems to be strategically bereft? In retrospect, we are always tactically overwhelming and strategically underwhelming.

One obvious answer is that strategy is the province of politicians.

But there is more than ineptitude behind any answer to Nightingale’s question. It’s a question of incentives. Politicians often decide at some point it is wiser and indeed often “virtuous” to lose. Losing is their ticket to office, their qualification for a Nobel Peace Prize. It is a pathway to media sainthood.

Once they embrace those incentives operations are defunded, the logistics trail is taken apart, a “decent interval” is negotiated and things are allowed to run their course. Defeat follows not as defeat but as the successful outcome of strategy, however perverse that may sound.

To understand how defeat can be winning recall the old principal-agent problem. “The dilemma exists because sometimes the agent is motivated to act in his own best interests rather than those of the principal.” Even though the people might gain more by “winning” if the political class can do better by “losing” then they lose.

The problem arises where the two parties have different interests and asymmetric information (the agent having more information), such that the principal cannot directly ensure that the agent is always acting in its (the principal’s) best interests, particularly when activities that are useful to the principal are costly to the agent, and where elements of what the agent does are costly for the principal to observe.

“Agency costs” in this context, are the risk of betrayal. The growing gap between the political class and the voters mean agency costs have risen so high that voters are rightly skeptical of supporting any military conflict whatsoever. There is no assurance the political class won’t decide to “lose”, that is to maximize the agent’s interests over the principal’s.

In this respect, the tell-tale of what the agent has decided is logistics. The agent prepares the budget. The agent sets timetables. When the US government defunded South Vietnam in 1975 and began the process of dismantling ops in Afghanistan back in 2011, whatever they said it was what they did that mattered.

While the New York Times was reporting on president Obama disquisition on his “war of necessity” the enemy was more profitably observing the logistics. They knew the truth was not to be found in words but in numbers of trucks and containers on the ground. They saw no “war of necessity”, only a political exercise.

The Special Forces might beat back the Taliban in Kunduz. But they’re not getting with the program. ”Amateurs talk about tactics, but professionals study the federal budget.”

Who said the Taliban were stupid?

Trump expands staff in three states

    snip

Trump has hired Karen Giorno in Florida, Corbin Casteel in Texas and Mike Rubino in Virginia.

Giorno previously worked in the Sunshine State for Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) before joining Trump’s campaign.

Casteel is a corporate communications and political strategy specialist who previously worked for the Republican National Committee (RNC).

Rubino served in the 2014 election campaign for Rep. David Brat (R-Va.). Brat notably upset then-House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) in the GOP primary.

Trump’s latest campaign maneuvers show the New York business mogul is thinking beyond the 2016 presidential election’s early-voting states.

Iowa conducts the nation’s first presidential primary in early February. Texas and Virginia, meanwhile, vote on March 1 along with the majority of other states on Super Tuesday. Florida will hold its own version on March 15.

  64. What Hillary fails to see. Its no longer a simple game of placating donors and coalition members. We are in a change environment, and being in lock step with Obama is hardly the answer. On the whole question of stay the course vs change, she has opted for the former. A tactical maneuver, a strategic mistake. The problem is the very elites she caters to are destroying the middle class, and erasing the identity of our nation. But she is surrounded by the wrong people and just doesn’t see it. Here is Jay Cost who has managed to figure part of this out. But only part of it.

    ———

These days, our political-economic consensus is looking wobbly. Of course, matters are not nearly as bad as they were in 1860, when the country was being rent in two. But it is not 1948, either.

The common ground that has undergirded American politics since the end of the war seems to be crumbling.

Beltway grandees are perpetually shocked and dismayed by the Tea Party “radicals” who are upsetting age-old governing norms.

They are right about one thing: The Tea Party is an existential challenge to the established order.

Whereas conservative think tanks have long been the lonely, ignored voices in Washington railing against measures like the farm bill or the Export-Import Bank, they now have a sizable cadre of conservative allies in government, especially in the House, demanding change.

But that is hardly the end of the story.

Conservatives are increasingly skeptical of all politicians.

Taken together, Donald Trump, Ben Carson, and Carly Fiorina have zero years of service in public office, yet together draw nearly 52 percent in the Real Clear Politics average of Republican primary polls.

This is also a challenge to the established order, for we normally leave public questions of politics and economics—the very sort that presidents decide on a daily basis—to the politicians and their expert advisers.

    ———–
Therein lies the problem. Call it an agency problem if you like. Whatever you choose to call it, the bottom line is clear: the policy prescriptions proffered by politicians and their experts are not neutral, and often, as we saw with the stimulus package counter productive. Today, as never before, the bottom line is clear to everyone with a brain: the prescriptions of the Harvard trained elites are larded with self interest, and harmful to the general welfare.

Of those three, Rubino would be the one I would be most keen to hire.

    He is a change agent.

  67. Hillary:

Be not the first by whom the new are tried.

Nor yet the last to lay the old aside.

    –Alexander Pope

  68. Hickenlooper: “I’m very fearful (of Trump).”

Why is that? Why, why, why?

I believe it is mainly because Hickie is part of the political class, who is comfortable with a $19 trillon dollar debt, 93 million Americans not working, bloated federal budgets, race baiting, getting pushed out of the middle east, abandoning our allies.”

That statement is based on narrow self interest, and no regard for the nation. In that respect, he is no different than the other politicians who cannot see the forest for the trees. Liberation of an oppressed middle call is always fearful to those like Hickie who have spent their own lives feeding at the public trough. It is almost enough to make them choke on their caviar and spill the french wine. And that would be a fate worse than death.

  69. I visited Karpels manuscript Museum Tuesday. I saw the manuscript of an imperial order issued by Peter the Great setting up the Russian Senate. He took great pains to spell out the rules, and on the question of their enforcement, he was rather specific: any breach of those rules will receive a punishment no less than death. Whereupon, the thought crossed my mind, why not impose the same sentence on the Senate in Washington, and make it retroactive in the case of Harry Reid.

  70. It is so hard for people to think outside the proverbial box, to try to fix monumental problems with existing tools and structures. I am a firm advocate of constitutional government and oppose anything that contravenes its terms, but I am also a big critic of John Roberts. Perhaps my faith in the rule of law is greater than his, or perhaps I just don’t live inside the beltway, or perhaps he, like so many, is a product of group think. Group think misses the new factor in the equation. Group think denies that anything has changed. And group think assures insiders that it will all be okay, even when it isn’t. Years ago, I read a book on the CIA which made this very point, group think overlooks a detail that will later undermine the entire strategy. I have mentioned before that there are some I really do respect, people I can learn from, people who, if I may be so arrogant as to say so, see the same world I do. I could give a shit when a left wing nut says something I do not agree with, but when someone I respect does it, it is frustrating–that they cannot see outside the box. Streiff at Red State is like that. Nobody over there writes with as much insight as he does. Nobody. Nevertheless, he cannot imagine Trump as president. That has to be group think, coupled with a belief that Trump is not a Republican. To me the word Republican is a meaningless term. To me it describes an establishment that lies early and often to its base, who engages in race baiting, and profits at the expense of its base. I am through with that party. And yet there are others like the one I mentioned who still believes conservatives can win back control of the party, and nominate Cruz. The thing that gets me is that someone as smart as he is does not appreciate that the elders will nominate the one they want to nominate for now thats Bush, eventually it will be Rubio, and Rubio will do their bidding. The only way to break that cycle is through Trump. There is no other way.

  71. I was reading from the bottom up and found this: “Of those three, Rubino would be the one I would be most keen to hire. He is a change agent.” Marco Rubio, a change agent?

I thought you meant Rubio but just misspelled it. What a relief to find that there really is a Rubino who is not connected with Rubio!!

  72. Obama is on TV at apparently a press conference. I’d forgotten how he goes on and on and on and on till your eyes roll back in your head. The press is giggling and twittering about his little supposed humor at the beginning of his LONG comments. YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an egotistical man he is…if someone were counting the “I’s” he has said, it would probably a huge number. BO has such piercing, evil eyes when he is hammering his point. Kinda scary.

  73. Well no nuts Obama just threw Hillary under the bus and put it in 4×4

Lets HOPE this shakes Hillary out of her shit stupor

  74. Boehner understudy and heir apparent Kevin McCarthy has gotten off to an open foot insert mouth beginning by telling us the Benghazi committee investigation is just politics. If you believe what I do, namely that we already know the truth, maybe that is all it is. But there are things you do not say if your are the heir apparent for the Speaker position and this is obviously one of them.

Streiff was cautiously optimistic about this guy. I on the other hand was not. Boehner was a weak man himself and would never appoint a strong number 2 man for feat he would be overthrown. There is some evidence that Cantor was planning a coup before he was defeated at the polls. But with McCarthy Boehner could sleep soundly. Yes, McCarthy is weak, and Trump has noted as much.

Trump went on to enumerate the qualities he looks for in a congressional leader with which I wholeheartedly agree. And, lord knows they are applicable as well, to a successful president. Of all the presidents in my memory, LBJ epitomized these qualities, i.e.

“We need somebody that’s a very, very tough, smart, cunning person.”

That statement says it all. A president who had those qualities, and surrounds himself with the best people as oppose to the political hacks that adorn the Obama presidency as well as the one that preceded it, i.e. heck of a job Brownie, etc. could turn the Titanic around, provided it is not already too late.

  75. The trouble with Carly is she is just a resume with no corresponding track record of success. And the more you look behind the resume the more you wonder whether she would take on the elites, despite all her talk about Washington is broken and I know how to fix it. The rebuttal argument is compelling, i.e. she shipped 30,000 jobs overseas, got a big bonus, and was later fired. And while we are on that subject, there is no disgrace in being fired provided you were competent and stood on principle. But I am not sure that is true in her case.

  78. It seems pretty clear that Biden is just waiting for more dirt being thrown on Hillary by the bots and then will jump in to “save the party”, not to oppose Hillary. I think Biden wins and beats Trump or Bush. Terrible scenario, but I predict this.

  79. been hearing that Jason Chaffetz is going to run for Speaker of the House and challenge Kevin McCarthy…

fwiw…I would rather see Jason in that position…I think he would be stronger, more articulate and more likely to get things done…

  81. Admin/ the article you have written here is good—it may not be what she and Bill need to hear but they need to hear it. I will make an effort. I still have the Hillaryis44 pin you sent out in 2007, plus this article, which is shows that what you prophesied has come to pass. October may provide that opportunity for me, as I have alluded to before. If you wish to know details you have my contact information.

    ———-
Yes, jb that is the obvious move.

    I said the same.

But N.B. that is what Admin is saying—namely that Biden as well is just a pawn.

“None of these buffoons (Sanders, Biden, O’Malley) will be the nominee.

They are pawns to bring down Hillary2016

SO THE REAL OBAMA CANDIDATE may emerge.”

    And who might that be?

    Surely not Warren . . .

    Surely not Corey Booker . . .

Surely not Michelle or Oprah or Ayers.

    Some other nut job perhaps?

  83. You know, I just do not know how evil O is and what Hillary might have on him. There are rumors that ISIS was invented and is being run by the US.

I would not put it past the evil creep. The way they came across the desert unchallenged and took all those American assets.

It is no wonder Hillary kept a separate server. Valjar may have a lot more reasons than given for wanting to get here claws on it.
