URGENT ALERT!!!: It’s #Bernie2016 V #Hillary2016 – WalNut #BernieSanders Announces Bernie Sanders V. Hillary Clinton

Update: Bernie Sanders leads Dem field of Hillary challengers in fundraising with… $1.5M. The DailyKooks are all in to raise billions for Bernie.

You know what they say… a Kook and his money are soon parted.

It’s April 30 – Walpurgisnacht, when all the demons from Hell emerge and the Church of Satan was established. So, How Convenient – Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders today announced he will run for President in 2016 and try to wrest the nomination away from Hillary Clinton. It’s panic time folks! It’s panic time!

Weary and unsure, the clubfooted Hillary Clinton 2016 campaign stumbled about trying to decide how to respond to the challenge from the Green Mountains man. Thrown off kilter by this latest setback, the Hillary Clinton 2016 campaign attempted a “Hail Mary pass” and violated it’s own vow that the candidate’s spouse would take a back seat in the campaign.

That’s right!. Bill Clinton was called in. Along with a foreign affairs campaign aide, whose presence was required to properly respond to this latest threat to the nomination for Hillary, Bill Clinton responded to the Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders’ daring move in a widely viewed press conference:

Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders cannot be easily dismissed. True, some think he is a bigger flake than the last candidate from Vermont, Howard Dean, but Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders cannot be underestimated enough.

The story is still told about the time a casually dressed Bernie (along with a cute young friend, also casually dressed) went helicopter fishing for the first time. Few expected Sanders to come up with anything. But Bernie Sanders surprised all. Bernie then caught a big one, just as he hopes to catch a big one in 2016:

Bernie Sanders is a quadruple threat. First the Hillary Haters in search of an opponent to challenge the woman they have denounced as a racist, the DailyKooks, are all atwitter for Bernie Sanders.

Also Bernie Sanders is a WalNut – that’s right he has won the coveted endorsement from the deplorable traffic stoppers and all around drunk rowdies who call themselves Occupy Wall Street. Yup, Bernie Sanders is a WalNut:

Given New Hampshire’s proximity to Sanders’s home state of Vermont and the senator’s familiarity with the area and its people, he would have a real shot at winning the New Hampshire primary if he were to run. If Sanders wins in the critical first-in-the-nation primary state, he will finally be seen as a credible candidate for the nomination by the top pollsters and pundits. And if Sanders wins the nomination, Americans will finally have the economic populist presidential candidate they’ve been waiting for. Whether or not this opponent of the billionaire class, corporate greed, Wall Street and environmental degradation – and this champion of working people, the unemployed, retirees, and student debtors – becomes our next president will be entirely up to us.

Bernie Sanders is a total WalNut:

Bernie Sanders is a WalNut who says he hates “income inequality”. We suppose Bernie Sanders means to turn America not into his home state of Vermont but into Red State Utah which has the lowest income inequality in the nation.

Bernie Sanders unites the left and the right wings of American politics. Republicans and conservatives along with the leftist loons, all call Hillary Clinton a “weak” candidate. But if Hillary is such a weak candidate why are so many Republicans out to get rid of her? If Hillary Clinton is such a weak candidate isn’t it in Republicans and conservatives’ best interest to encourage Hillary to run like a lamb to the slaughter? The fact is the loony left comprised of Obama Dimocrats/DailyKooks/Occupy Wall Street know Hillary is a strong candidate. We saw Hillary after Iowa 2008 when, back to the wall, she stood in the rain and fought on to overwhelming victories in state after state. If it wasn’t for the corrupt DNC and the delegate theft from Michigan and Florida in the Rules committee Hillary would have had more delegates than Obama and garnered her deserved nomination.

Republicans/conservatives sometimes twist themselves into knots in order to attack Hillary. Keith Koffler is an example of someone who berates Hillary almost daily but takes time to write odes of appreciation for Barack Obama and his Baltimore race-baiting. More rational is Charles C. W. Cooke who deplores Hillary and praises Bernie Sanders while providing the road map for Hillary2016 to take in regards to Bernie Sanders:

Thus far at least, Clinton’s campaign, which seems to be motivated primarily by fear, has been reactive. When they can, Hillary and her team stick to meaningless and saccharine banalities, almost all of which, one presumes, have been poll-tested within a fraction of an inch. When she feels that she has to weigh in, however, she does so with a degree of studied caution that would have made even Mr. Rogers blush. If Clinton is worried that a potential rival might ding her, she pens a quick tribute to their position and then she moves on. If she is concerned that her silence could be interpreted as indifference, she gives a platitudinous speech on the topic of the hour, and then goes home. If the scandals that stick to her finally become too much for the press to bear, she consents to answer a few carefully chosen questions and then she buggers off.

That’s pretty good advice, if churlishly delivered, for Hillary Clinton 2016 and one we are sure the campaign will follow.

The hope on the left and the right is that Bernie Sanders 2016 will coalesce all the Hillary Haters into one traffic stopping mess mass. Then, the hope is that Sanders will disappear and the real candidate of the left will enter the arena with a fully formed organization. The dream is for Bernie Sanders to roam the beaches and restaurant back alleys filled with garbage in a glorious search of deposit bottles and cans – then Bernie Sanders turns all the empty bottles and cans over to someone else to cash them in at the recycling center.

In a very real way WalNut Bernie Sanders is perfectly suited to run against Hillary Clinton 2016 as the tribune for the Socialist Kook left. But Bernie Sanders won’t achieve the aim of Kook Unity because, well,… um,…, he looks to much like a kook. In the words of Cooke, Bernie Sanders looks like “an elderly man with wild eyes and white, straggly Doc Brown hair“. Bernie Sanders looks pure kook – a crackpot uncle in the basement tinkering with old clocks and pots to invent a socialist time machine where all the sins of socialism are forgotten.

Bernie Sanders is a powerful threat to Hillary Clinton 2016, not because of what some on the right wish, but because he is not afraid to attack Barack Obama and Obama policies. For Hillary to win, not the nomination but the presidency, she must attack Barack Obama and Obama policies with great force. Why would anyone allow themselves to be tied to Obama and the Obama economic record? Have you seen the latest economic data? The Obama economy is a disaster.

If you think Bernie Sanders or the left loon candidate to come is a joke, you might be right. But Big Media is no joke. Big Media hates Hillary and Big Media will attack Hillary. Think that is all an idle threat? Remember 2008. Hillary Hater Matt Taibbi explains/threatens in his ode to Bernie Sanders in Rolling Stoner magazine:

It’s a little-known fact, but we reporters could successfully sell Sanders or Elizabeth Warren or any other populist candidate as a serious contender for the White House if we wanted to.

Hillary Clinton 2016 has an opponent for the nomination now. It is imperative that Hillary Clinton win the nomination. With his announcement Bernie Sanders might be the man to destroy Hillary, right? Well, it sure as blazes won’t be Martin O’Malley who destroys Hillary because Martin O’Malley’s campaign is up in flames in Baltimore. We’ll have a lot more to say regarding Martin O’Malley if he dares to announce a run for the nomination against Hillary.

The Socialist Bernie Sanders presidential campaign announcement was a masterpiece of rhetoric. The video of Socialist Bernie Sanders great leap forward is a masterpiece which captures the authentic Bernie Sanders:

Bernie Sanders is a triple, quadruple, megaupple threat. Most worrisome to the Hillary Clinton 2016 campaign is they won’t have the old Bernie to run against. As he announced his shocking presidential run Socialist Bernie Sanders also announced he will be running full throttle as he no longer smokes pot. Bernie Sanders has abandoned his “grass” roots – for Bernie it is now the big time.

Hell YES admin! Hillary won the popular vote, even with ACORN working their corrupt magic.

  2. Bernie Beanie is even less credible than Wigwam woman. Maybe the kooks will try to slip Feathers in the election at the last minute…hahaha.

More of these kooks need to waste their money running for their 15 minutes of screen time. Heck, in the primary in 2008, even dumbass HuffNPuff ran.

  3. GonzoTx, how old is that guy? Two years old? At his age and after that “scenario” he realizes that “compliance” when a cop tells you something is the thing to do? Is he stupid? Yes, when a cop tells you to do something within his/her authority you should comply. Afterwards if you don’t like what happened you can complain or sue. But at the time, comply. Eric Garner, Michael Brown, etc. didn’t respect this simple rule and now they are six feet under.

  4. http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/04/hillary-clinton-loves-bernie-sanders-huge-clinton-advantage-martin-omalley-elizabeth-warren-117533.html?hp=t2_r#.VUL6CPAUWJo

It was only a tweet, but one could detect a certain jubilation in Hillary Clinton’s voice as she “welcomed” Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders—the senator so far to the left he’s not even a registered Democrat—into the presidential race. “I agree with Bernie. Focus must be on helping America’s middle class. GOP would hold them back,” Clinton tweeted. To be sure everyone noticed, she signed the tweet “H.” This is really me talking, everybody!

You can bet that, if it had been Elizabeth Warren, there would have been less jubilation in Clintonworld.

Why is Hillary happy? First of all, Bernie has no chance of winning the Democratic nomination, whereas a Warren might actually have a shot. Second, the quixotic nature of his campaign will all but ensure that resistant progressives go over to Clinton sooner rather than later. Finally, he is the first of a bunch of progressive-come-latelies, Lincoln Chafee, Jim Webb and Martin O’Malley, whose main achievement will be to split the anti-Hillary left. With Clinton generally polling around 60 percent among Democrats, having four candidates divvy up the remaining tally is a recipe for a Hillary coronation. If Clinton doesn’t have to sweat, then she doesn’t owe anybody anything.

Above all, the weakness of Bernie Sanders and her other likely challengers virtually ensures that she will not be forced to adopt policies so progressive that her cautious campaign team fears they could cost her the election in November. Indeed, Warren’s hovering over the race has put more pressure on Hillary than anyone actually preparing to join it. [snip]

As to the other progressives who are likely to run, all have suspect credentials. Chafee and Webb are former Republicans. O’Malley had a solid reputation as a left-of-center technocrat while governor of Maryland, though in the wake of the Baltimore riots, his mayoral tenure is being remembered for high incarceration rates and not low poverty rates.

Yet all three now are singing out of Bernie’s populist songbook and all have the potential to diminish his ability to consolidate and maximize the progressive anti-Hillary vote.

O’Malley can appeal to Hillary skeptics who want a safer, button-down alternative. Chafee has suggested he wants to emphasize foreign policy, which may entice liberals most aggrieved by Clinton’s perceived hawkishness. Webb, like Sanders, believes Democrats need white working-class voters who spurned Obama to ensure an electoral majority. Unlike Sanders, Webb’s pitch is more tribal. The author of a book celebrating his fellow Appalachian Scots-Irish, Webb is fond of saying “If you’re poor and white, you’re out of sight.” Such racially competitive victimhood may not help Webb get far with in the multicultural Democratic electorate, but he could make it harder for Sanders, as well as Clinton, to make inroads with that constituency.

Before Sanders took the plunge it was clear that others would jump in. The question that Sanders had to ask himself was: Would it be better for progressives if I get behind one of the other challengers to minimize division, or am I the best champion of the progressive agenda?

Understandably, Sanders saw himself as the real deal. He has a fully fleshed out worldview, fingering the “billionaire class” as the problem and ridding money from politics as the solution. He has a 12-point action plan for revitalizing the middle-class. He has been talking about these economic issues, inside the Capitol and over the airwaves, on a daily basis for decades, with an eye toward appealing beyond the progressive base.

But while Sanders might give the most comprehensive one-hour speech on how to save the middle class, it’s less certain he knows how to move Hillary Clinton in his direction, or if that is even his underlying goal. (He insists, of course, that he’s running “to win” and “not running against Hillary Clinton.”)

As we have seen in the escalating fight over trade policy, Hillary can nod in the direction of the populists without embracing specifics. The left can demand she take a stand on the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the “fast track” negotiation authority. But she will give you vague principles for what a trade deal should look like and skip the part about fast track, for as long as she can.

A strong primary challenger can make it harder for Hillary to skirt specifics. But much of the Sanders’ agenda and rhetoric doesn’t put Hillary on the spot.

For example, on the day he announced, Sanders’ Twitter feed declared: “Every candidate for president has got to answer one simple question. Are you prepared to take on the billionaire class whose greed is destroying the middle class and, through Citizens United, our American democratic system?” This is a softball question disguised as a hardball. Hillary can easily answer, “Yes!” without committing to any specific policy, or even swallowing the class-based rhetoric her advisers want to avoid.

Other elements of his “Agenda for America” similarly give challengers plenty of latitude. He wants “a progressive tax system in this country which is based on ability to pay,” “quality education [that’s] affordable for all” and to “lead the world in reversing climate change.”

But certain planks could squeeze Hillary if Sanders decided to drill them. Either you are for expanding Social Security benefits or you’re not. Either you believe Wall Street banks “must be broken up” or you don’t. Clinton’s restraint on trade may have to give way if Sanders hammers her over it.

  5. Hillary needs to hammer home Bernie isn’t even a registered democrat and he is seeking the Dem Nom and not even signed up to the party. How can you trust him?

  6. And actually Bernie cant run in a dem primary he’s not a Dem. surely he has to run independent.

  7. Charges filed against the cops in Baltimore. The death of Freddie Gray has been ruled a homicide.

Watching the press conference we detected the immediate flaw in the state’s case. The city attorney bases her case on the premise that the arrest of Freddie Gray was “illegal”. She says the arrest was illegal because the cops had no probable cause to arrest Gray. The city attorney has to re-read the law.

Freddie Gray was a known criminal who ran when police approached him in an area known for drug deals. That in an of itself is probable cause.

For all the tough talk by the city attorney the charges amount to “negligence” and “involuntary manslaughter” because Gray was not tied down.

  8. So the “other guy” in the paddy wagon, he doesn’t say he was thrown around, soo, maybe Grey did do this horrible thing to himself?

  9. The autopsy report was released this morning and soon after she filed these charges. I’ve read that “homicide” on an autopsy report means unnatural death, and does not mean “homicide” the way that courts mean it. Legal people on the net are saying that she grabbed the coroner’s use of the term as a pretext for the same-named criminal charge, and that there won’t be a conviction.

I don’t like how she said “you said ‘no justice no peace’ and I heard you”, and how they’re going to get justice for the deceased and for the aggrieved crowds, but never mentioned that justice IS justice, and would include the police officers. Justice would be the fair resolution of this mess by people weighing the evidence in court – and we don’t know right now, but it might include the cops being judged not at fault.

I think they’re encouraging people to continue rioting (in future situations) to get what they want. And enabling them to keep equating “justice” with murder charges.

As a matter of fact, last night I saw on the news black public officials angry that “we” haven’t educated these rioting masses that justice is a process. Excuse me? I’m responsible for these ignorant people? They don’t know that we have a system, a process, that we don’t immediately LYNCH people??? I’m not the one who made them skip school or not pay attention. I’m not the one who made them be criminals themselves and GO THROUGH the process, and still not know there is a process. When is anyone going to be responsible for themselves? SMH.

  10. Bernie Sanders is crazy. Everyone but a few crazy wingers are sick of Obama. No one is going to elect a socialist. A lot of people live in bubbles, around their own supporters, I guess, and have no idea who real Americans are.

  11. TV shouted the news of Baltimore this day. As if told to do so. 😉
Seems an appeasement to Obama’s people. As for me, I’m relieved to hear admin’s pronouncement re probable cause.

There are two other announcements from the last 24 hours which could indicate that DeBlasio and Lynch are working to tamp the anger of everybody else:

=DOJ Program Helps Police Departments Buy Body Cameras
    NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth‎ – 5 hours ago

=De Blasio: Civil Disobedience Means Do What The Cops Tell You

Latter article is extensive, includes arrest of DeBlasio several years ago which I somehow missed.

  12. Once a prisoner is in the custodial care of the police, they are responsible for his well-being. We don’t know *what* happened. Although I am proud to say that when I represented a small municipality (~40-50,000) in civil suits, there was never a claim of excessive force asserted against it, there *are* bad cops and bad forces with a culture of brutality. If these cops were running some sort of rough driving scheme, knowing it would rough the guy up slinging around in the back of a van, then they deserve everything they get. The fact that the guy was a low-life does not equate to his deserving such treatment. I’ve definitely trended more conservative as I’ve aged, but people are guaranteed the right to be free from arbitrary injury / death at the hands of state actors.

  13. I still say it is all about the money. The bad economic report for the first quarter goes unnoticed. But the projections for this quarter are similar. I guess the trial will take the attention from that.

I see mentioned that at least some of the officers charged were black. So how is this the Great White Oppression? Looney. All theater. They are such tools. It is so sad.

  14. “First Lady Michelle Obama joked with David Letterman about running for president.”

Well if that’s not the scariest thing I’ve heard in a long time…worse than any horror movie any of us have seen!

  15. A run by Meechelle would be the strongest possible confirmation that O and his helpers look at the position of POTUS as as a game, a joke, a pretend job. Let Meechelle just pretend she’s president for a couple of weeks before Barack packs hills bags for the final time, and gets the hell out of our WH Wait. She can’t be the pretend president. Her husband beat her to that gig. I swear, I think I would pay good money, as much as i could possibly spare to never have to hear his stammering mouth and never again see her scowling face after he leaves his pretend office .

Ben King singing “Stand by Me” cannot be beat by any singer any where. RIP.

  16. Free, Friday music with Tom Petty…excellent! Bernie Beanie wishes he could feel like Tome.

  17. I know, Shadow. Poor Bernie.

Bernie is 73 years old. I don’t watch MSM, but would love to know how many times on any show on any network his age has been mentioned.

Bernie’s 73. Is he an old man? Should he move over and let the new generation have an opportunity to lead like Hillary was told to do. How bout Bernie?

BTW, did I mention Bernie is 73?? HILLARY IS 67!

  18. I’ll probably over do it with the videos tonight, but it’s been one hell of a week. Time to soothe the soul.

This oldie is foe the feminists – the real ones.

  19. free – of course, we’re going to hear lots of negative comments about all the wrinkles in his face, and ohmygod he has gray hair and doesn’t dye it, he looks kind of flabby not too fit, and shouldn’t he be using a cane?, and I can see age spots on his skin, and his eyes look droopy from such old skin he needs a facelift, and those clothes just kind of hang on him, he has money, why doesn’t he hire someone to make him look like he knows which century this is?

Oh, wait. He’s not a woman. Men are allowed to age. Never mind.

  20. Blowme
There was another individual in the van and he wasn’t thrown around and has stated he heard Grey, what sounded to him, throw himself around. Now I don’t know if it’s true, if he’s trying to get a cut in sentencing, but he is afraid the black community, he being black, will take it out on him. By the way he is the same guy they saw dealing with Grey. They caught both and put them in the Wagon with a metal partition.

  21. Are they circling the wagons and making sure Obama’s lot is kept a close eye on……..

Hillary’s campaign just placed a Clinton insider in a prominent role, instead of an Obama campaign veteran……..GOOD!

The political director of Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign, Guy Cecil, is in final talks to take on a major role at the super PAC Priorities USA Action — a move that would give Clinton’s implicit nod to donors that she wants them to contribute to the outside group raising money to help her bid.

“There have been serious discussions about strengthening some elements of Priorities, and Guy has a very strong reputation,” said another source with knowledge of the super PAC. “If he comes in, it’ll be a strong addition.”

Cecil’s new role, first reported Friday by the Washington Post and confirmed by a person with knowledge of the situation, would wrestle some power away from Jim Messina, the current board co-chair who served as President Barack Obama’s campaign manager in 2012. It installs a Clinton insider in a prominent role instead of an Obama campaign veteran — someone who has the trust of the Clintons and may be able to anticipate how best to assist the campaign from the outside.

Cecil is expected to work closely with executive director Buffy Wicks, whose role is not expected to change.

“Guy brings two things to the table: he’s experienced, and he’s loyal to the Clintons and the Clintons are loyal to him,” a source with knowledge of the situation said. “Donors need that. At the end of the day, Buffy Wicks has been essential and important to getting Priorities up and running. People have come to really admire and appreciate Buffy, her skill and her hard work, people look forward to her and Guy working together.”

While Priorities has long been expected to serve as the primary super PAC supporting Clinton’s White House bid, some donors have been waiting on a sign from Clinton’s camp that the candidate approves of Priorities’ work. Weeks after officially announcing her candidacy, Clinton has begun raising money for her campaign in person, appearing at events with donors in New York and Washington in recent days. She will raise more funds in California after a campaign stop in Nevada next week.

Former President Bill Clinton is a huge fan of Cecil’s, another source added. And Cecil, along with EMILY’s List President Stephanie Schriock, were on the short list for the campaign manager job that ultimately went to Robby Mook. But there was no senior position available in Mook’s operation where Cecil could have a role from the inside, the source said.

Priorities has only been ramping up its outreach to donors in the past few weeks, the person with knowledge of its operations said. It wanted to give the campaign a chance to get rolled out first, but in the past three weeks has started to “test the waters for those preparing to put in some serious money,” the person said, and explain to them what Priorities did in 2012 for Obama and what it intends to do this cycle.

The news of Cecil’s role comes as Republicans and Democrats alike eye Jeb Bush, whose presidential bid is expected to rely on an allied super PAC to an unprecedented extent. While Clinton’s campaign is not expected to have problems raising large amounts of money, Bush’s supporters have recently spoken of record fundraising for the Republican.

A Priorities USA spokesman declined to confirm the story. Cecil did not return messages.

  22. Lorac, I love it too. Used to sing it to my daughter when she was a baby.

Hillary’s campaign just placed a Clinton insider in a prominent role, instead of an Obama campaign veteran……..GOOD!

Great news! Get rid of the O influence.

  23. What I would so like to see in this world is the rise of women and inclusion of world governance with an end to the reign of misogynistic Islamic terrorism and the banksters wealth looting of the populous.

    Hillary 2016!!!

  24. Racists uncovered! Three of the cops charged in Baltimore, including the one most seriously charged, are black.

The six officers accused in the death of Freddie Gray face a litany of charges that include second-degree depraved-heart murder, involuntary manslaughter, false imprisonment and misconduct in office.

The officers — three white, three African American — represent a broad spectrum of experience on Baltimore’s police force. Three of them joined the force three years ago. The driver, who faces the most serious charges, is African American and has been on the force since 1999. [snip]

The officers include one woman, a sergeant, who joined the force in 2010. [snip]

Officer Caesar R. Goodson Jr., 45, who has been on the force since 1999, according to Baltimore police. An African American, Goodson drove the van that transported Gray to jail.

Goodson, whose bail was set at $350,000, is the only officer in the group facing a murder charge. He is charged with second-degree depraved-heart murder, a charge used when a suspect is accused of reckless disregard for another person’s life, in addition to involuntary manslaughter, second-degree assault, manslaughter by vehicle and misconduct in office.

None of the six will be convicted of the serious charges. It’s doubtful they will be convicted of any charges.

  25. Ben E. King had a long career as singer for the Drifters. Many beautiful songs from them with King on lead vocal:

Hillary should listen to this as she flirts with the ObamaRoid kooks.

  26. Good, let the Kooks flush their money down the toilet with Bernie.

Maybe the $ would be better spent by buying him a makeover.

  27. “Well when you’re sitting back, in your rose pink Cadillac, making bets on Kentucky Derby Day.”

Three white males, one black female and one black male. But the sixth is a male that some reports are referring to as Hispanic.

  29. Admin, I love the videos. My kinda music.

I happened upon this one. Never had heard it before, but it’s the perfect message from Hillary to all the effing Dims, Kooks, Kool-Aide addicts, Obama and Bernie!

  30. The Guardian UK, which has not always been a fan of Hillary, to say the least, has an article about whether she will be progressive enough for the Progressive wing of the party, stating that although she has appeared to be tracking to the left, she may move back to the middle. Progressive writer, Zaid Jilani thinks Hillary will move away from the Progressive ideology – as if that’s a bad thing.

The article gets a few things wrong IMHO. For example – as stated in the last sentence posted here, the presumption seems to be that the “core Democratic voter” is progressive. Regardless of what polling says – the core of the party is not progressive. The numbers may have appeared that way since Obama’s Selection, but PEW Research states that when asked about whether they are centrist or progressive, some voters tend to claim the ideology embraced by the president who holds office at the time of the poll.

Other analysts do not see the Clinton campaign, at this early stage, as reaching in a particularly progressive direction, noting that backing same-sex marriage, for example, does not require the political courage it once did. And whatever else is driving the Clinton strategy, many agree that smart politics, of the not necessarily constructive kind, is part of it.

“To me it’s not unexpected, I think she’s kind of going with the zeitgeist in terms of how she campaigns,” Zaid Jilani, a progressive writer, told the Guardian. “I think my issue is that this isn’t necessarily indicative of what she will actually do…

“I think that people need to understand that in traditional politics – and the Clintons really do practice traditional politics – there’s such a thing as, ‘This is how you campaign, but this is how you govern.’

“And in 2017, she’s going to be sitting there, most likely with two houses of Congress controlled by the Republican party, and what is she going to do?”

To hear the candidate tell it, she will arrive in the White House and launch a series of sweeping reforms of the criminal justice system and education policy. She will jack up taxes for hedge-fund managers, cap pay for CEOs and pump up the minimum wage. She will rewrite the constitution so it is illegal for sympathetic friends such as Tom Steyer or Jamie Dimon to spend anonymous millions on elections. She will equip every police officer in the US with a body camera and release hundreds of thousands of low-level offenders from prisons.

In traditional politics … there’s such a thing as, ‘This is how you campaign, but this is how you govern’
    Zaid Jilani

In at least one instance on the campaign trail so far, Clinton’s progressive messaging seemed at risk of speaking too narrowly to the core Democratic voter.

  31. I just re-read parts of the article posted above, and the issue about which it considers Hillary’s view to be progressive is that of reproductive rights. This opinion apparently is based on a statement Hillary made regarding the need to change religious views in order to protect reproductive rights.

Now, I don’t know in whose book this is a progressive issue. The issue of reproductive rights has been a Democratic Party issue from the beginning – not a progressive issue. The Dims have used it as a stick and a carrot to attract female voters and contributors forever. Hillary has long been known to be a supporter of the rights of women and girls. The reproductive rights issue is a component of the broader concept of women’s rights.

  32. Dear __________ ,

You’re an important part of this campaign, and that means you’re important to me.
So on Mother’s Day, I’d like to call the mom in your life — someone who is special to you and helped you get there — and say thank you.
I’ve been a mother for more than 35 years now, and I’m still not sure how my mother did it.
She didn’t always have an easy life, but she managed to remain strong and kind and always remember everyone who helped her get through the tough times. She passed those lessons on to me, and in turn, I was able to pass them on to my daughter. I think of my mother every single day.
I’m sure you have a story like this about your mom. I’d like to hear it and thank her for all that she’s done.
Let me help you make Mother’s Day special for someone you’re thinking of this year — enter now for the chance to win a call from me. I’m sure we’ll have plenty to talk about:
(Don’t forget — you should still call, too!)

  33. Obama’s time in office and his campaign in 2008 have led to racial polarization and race-baiting. The country is now completely divided on race instead of healed as the ObamaRoids promised in 2008.

Americans are bracing for a summer of racial disturbances around the country, such as those that have wracked Baltimore, with African Americans and whites deeply divided about why the urban violence has occurred, a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll has found.

A resounding 96% of adults surveyed said it was likely there would be additional racial disturbances this summer, a signal that Americans believe Baltimore’s recent problems aren’t a local phenomenon but instead are symptomatic of broader national problems.

When asked to explain recent events in Baltimore and other cities that have seen confrontations between police and members of the African-American community, blacks and whites viewed the situation differently.

Asked to choose between two possible explanations for recent events, 60% of blacks said they reflected “long-standing frustrations about police mistreatment of African Americans.” Some 27% of black respondents said the disturbances were caused by people who used protests over an African American man dying in police custody “as an excused to engage in looting and violence.”

But among whites, the balance of opinion flipped: 58% said people were seizing an excuse to loot, while 32% said the events reflected long-standing frustrations with police.

Baltimore Rally: Burn Down Stores to Get Them ‘Out of Our Communities’

During a large rally in front of Baltimore’s City Hall, a young man introduced as “Brother Rose,” in winding and sometimes incoherent speech, praised the burning of a CVS store at the corner of Pennsylvania and North Avenues. “America didn’t care until we started affecting things they profit from… What we saying, ‘Let’s get you out of our communities.’”

He also said, “Without us running (unintelligible) Mondawmin Mall [the site of mass looting on Monday], taking back from the stores that have taken our dollars for how long, and not giving back to the community in any type of way. We made a statement. The world heard us then. They heard that the youth of Baltimore are going to get justice by any means necessary.”

He also advocated shutting down restaurants and businesses that were protecting their investments. “If they protected themselves against you, protect yourselves against them. Don’t spend your money there. Don’t give them no reason to be in your neighborhood. Kick them out.”

  35. Obama may be very happy. He has said since the beginning that he wants a federal police force, and more recently his supporters (including Sharpton) are calling for the federalization of our existing police forces. States’ rights be d*mned.

It’s reminiscent of brown shirts, of forces answerable to a king, etc. Top down control.

This guy still has a lot of time to fundamentally transform this country. Very scary.

  36. Three white males, one black female and one black male. But the sixth is a male that some reports are referring to as Hispanic.

Lu4PUMA – Hispanics are either white or black (or a mix) – it is possible he is a black hispanic, because I’ve seen reports saying 3 blacks, 3 whites.

(Hispanic was an American political term created around 1970 to group disparate cultures together just based on a common language, to increase political power)

  37. Burn down stores……and where do these assholes think they are going to get their shopping and groceries in future…….

  38. Here we go again….shit meet fan…….this is going to set the place on fire.

BREAKING U.S. media reports police in Baltimore have shot a black man multiple times who was seen running from officers before shooting

  39. Ha…………

Fox news needs censoring………they have just had to have gone live on air and apologised for saying the above is completely false and “they apologise” for the mistake…..

They could have caused a lot of shit…..no one has been shot…….they decided to run with it before checking….assholes.

Clinton agrees to testify on Benghazi, emails

    By Lauren French

    5/4/15 4:47 PM EDT

Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has agreed to testify later this month before a House panel investigating the terrorist attacks in Benghazi and her email practices.

David Kendall, a lawyer for Clinton, told the House Select Committee on Benghazi lawmakers on Monday that she will take questions at a hearing during the week of May 18 but has no intention of returning to Capitol Hill for a second hearing before the panel.

“Secretary Clinton has been and remains ready and willing to testify in public…..about the tragic events of September 2012,” Kendall wrote. “At that time, she will, of course, address any other questions the committee believes to be pertinent to its charge, including the questions posed…about her email.”

Kendall added that Chairman Trey Gowdy’s request for a second hearing focused solely on Clinton’s use of a private email account and server while secretary of state has “no basis, logic, or precedent.”

Gowdy, a South Carolina Republican, asked Clinton to appear twice: once on the terrorist attacks and a second time to discuss her email use.

Kendall said Clinton is ready to “stay as long as necessary to answer the Committee’s questions, but will not prolong the Committee’s efforts further by appearing on two separate occasions when one will suffice.”

The expected Capitol Hill appearance will be an early test for Clinton’s nascent 2016 presidential campaign. She was widely seen as having upstaged congressional Republicans when she testified in 2013 about the Benghazi attacks.

Is this a mistake to go to the kangaroo court?

  41. Actually if history is any indicator, it won’t matter if Hillary appears before the select committee. It WILL end up being a kangaroo court even if she answers all the questions and provides whatever and if it were proven she was not “guilty” as the present narrative goes, it will never, ever, ever be enough. The narrative is being set by the Dimocrats and the vile right wing media. But then we have to remember that FOX News tells us daily that they are fair and balanced…wink, wink. We know the left wing kooks are NOT…balanced much less fair.

  42. I hope Hillary keeps her cool this time…stay poised and answer questions from her POV and in that smart, informed delivery she has…don’t give them any outburst soundbites (as in shouting “what difference does it make)

  43. Ha…

A couple of weeks ago, the executive producers of Now with Alex Wagner, The Ed Show, and All In with Chris Hayes were told to prepare “sizzle reels” of the best their programs have to offer. Theoretically, this exercise will help them identify what works best on their respective shows but, in reality, our sources say, any or all of these shows could soon be on the chopping block. The senior staffs of all three programs, we are told, are now concerned that their days are numbered.

Mediaite has also been told that Lack is considering a total overhaul of MSNBC’s daytime programming. The days of Lack’s predecessor Patricia Fili-Krushel deferring to Griffin’s judgment on programming are, according to our sources, officially over.

The big question, of course, remains what will Lack do with Griffin himself. NBC insiders tell Mediaite that while Lack likes Griffin personally, he has serious questions about Griffin’s ability to effectively run a big cable network like MSNBC. And, so far, we hear, nothing Lack has seen has changed that impression.

There’s a new sheriff in MSNBC town and he’s apparently taking names and preparing to make the changes necessary to make the network competitive again.

  44. I think Hillary should handle the situation like a real leader, not a goat for Trey’s kangaroos.

  45. Is there any website besides Hillary is 44 that defends Hillary? Thank goodness for you, Administrator. I don’t know what we’d do without you. I’m more than weary of TV with hardly anyone defending Hillary with the 24/7 attacks. I’m weary of all the vile Rep media sites with their continual Clinton bashing as well as some of the far left loon sites.

  46. Southern, nothing as good as Big Pink, but here is a breakdown…take it for what it’s worth because Daily PUMA isn’t sure Big Pink still supports Hillary.

Obviously he/she hasn’t been keeping up with Admin and Big Pinkers.

  47. Freddie Gray arrest warrants misidentify 2 officers — RT USA
… One warrant was for the arrest of Alicia White, but instead of calling up Baltimore police sergeant Alicia White, bail bondsmen and journalists started phoning East Baltimore elementary school cafeteria manager Alicia White, seeking comment from her family about her arrest.
“The middle initial was off. Her address, her height, her weight, her driver’s license number – all of the information was my client’s information,” Jeremy Eldridge, an attorney representing the misidentified resident, told the Baltimore Sun… Instead of Lt. Brian Rice, many reporters found Tammy and Brian Rice of Brunswick, Maryland. This Mr. Rice, as it turns out, is a plumber.
THE MISTAKE in the arrest warrant FOR LT. BRIAN RICE IS NOTABLE BECAUSE he is not a stranger to sheriffs’ offices or the court system. HE WAS HOSPITALIZED OVER MENTAL HEALTH CONCERNS AND HAD HIS GUN CONFISCATED THREE YEARS AGO. He was also accused of domestic violence in 2008 and 2013, according to public filings. …
