Ebola Obama’s Explosive Diarrhea

Update: What should Ebola Obama have done? First impose a quarantine on travelers from West Africa to prevent the infected from travel to the United States. Second, coordinate with African nations to provide assistance to the stricken countries and individuals. Third, with the quarantine in place establish “protocols” and procedures to deal with any potential infection here. Fourth, secure the southern border to prevent other diseases from hitchhiking on random illegal aliens. Fourth, consider slowly lifting the quarantine once procedures against Ebola are in place and safety is assured. Put a total quarantine in place again if any breach occurs.

Instead of the above we got the usual lies from Barack Obama and his henchmen. It’s kind of late for this statement from the CDC chief: From now on, we’ll make sure people we’re monitoring for exposure to Ebola don’t get on a plane.

——————————————————-

Ebola Obama shat on everything and everyone. This country is in trouble. We can see the explosive diarrhea of “Yes We Can” Midas-in-reverse Barack Obama everywhere these days.

Today we were going to apply some very “tough love” and some very tough language to Hillary Clinton and mercilessly mock Hillary Clinton 2016 because both are in need of corrective measures as only we can apply. But by now Hill and Bill must realize we are entirely correct and they are making some dumb moves. We’ve made our case clear for years now and yesterday’s comments section has a good discussion on our point of view.

After yesterday’s very clear confirmation of our view that Alison Grimes was and is a loser (the DSCC has given up on her and will not air ads on Grimy’s behalf) the news became worse for Grimes and today’s campaigner for Grimes – Hillary Clinton.

The Move-On loons today attack Grimes for her description of illegal aliens as “illegal aliens”. Move-On does not attack the pack of lies Grimes has unleashed in an ad. Move-On attacks the correct use of “illegal aliens” to describe illegal aliens:

Democratic Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes is in deep water with progressives and immigration advocates after her campaign ran an ad calling undocumented immigrants “illegal aliens” and bizarrely accusing her opponent, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), of being soft on immigration.

Likewise King Kook Howard Dean condemned Grimes for calling illegal aliens “illegal aliens”.

So let’s tally the damage: (1) two days before Hillary campaigns with Alison Grimes this loser doubles down on the ridiculous claim that she is protecting the sanctity of the ballot forcing Hillary to join in on the charade or attack the silly claim; (2) the week before Alison Grimes dubbed herself a “Clinton Democrat” thereby dragging Hill and Bill further into the morass; (3) on the day before Hillary campaigns with Alison Grimes the DSCC announces the death of the Grimes campaign with the news that no more money is forthcoming from them thereby putting Hillary in a tougher spot; (4) on the day Hillary will campaign with Alison Grimes the crackpot left attacks Alison Grimes and Hillary is put in an even tougher set of spots having to denounce or not denounce the use of “illegal aliens” and or defend Mitch McConnell and attack the Grimes ad. Brilliant work Hillary and Hillary Clinton 2016!

We had also considered, now that we are three weeks out from the election, that today would be a good day to publish a poll analysis because we believe from here on out the polls do matter. But events once again find us in Hazmat suits looking at Ebola Obama’s explosive diarrhea everywhere.

Today’s news had the effect that made both our discussion of Hillary’s foolishness and a poll analysis moot.

For Hillary the good news is that so much bad news will relegate her disastrous visit to the back pages of discussion.

As to the polls and and analysis of same we think that the tide of bad news today will possibly make the bad news for Obama Dimocrats even worse and the good news for Republicans even better.

In short the bad news today is EBOLA and more EBOLA. Breaking: Second TX health care worker tests positive for Ebola.

Remember all the “experts” and the rubbish reassurances? The “experts” lied repeatedly and the Ebola mess is worse than anyone in the public suspected:

On the day that Duncan was admitted to the hospital with possible Ebola symptoms, he was “left for several hours, not in isolation, in an area where other patients were present,” union co-president Deborah Burger said.

Up to seven other patients were present in that area, the nurses said, according to the union.

A nursing supervisor faced resistance from hospital authorities when the supervisor demanded that Duncan be moved to an isolation unit, the nurses said, according to the union.

After expressing concerns that their necks were exposed even as they wore protective gear, the nurses were told to wrap their necks with medical tape, the union says.

As if he were Barack Obama, the Ebola Patient Zero had explosive diarrhea. The “experts” are in control and the nurses are in danger:

“The protocols that should have been in place in Dallas were not in place, and that those protocols are not in place anywhere in the United States as far as we can tell,” National Nurses United Executive Director RoseAnn DeMoro said Tuesday night. “We’re deeply alarmed.” [snip]

There was no one to pick up hazardous waste as it piled to the ceiling,” Burger said. [snip]

“This nurse was being blamed for not following protocols that did not exist. … The nurses in that hospital were very angry, and they decided to contact us,” DeMoro said.

Barack Obama’s mess is piled to the ceiling too. By now no one should doubt we were serious when in 20 we wrote “Barack Obama will get us all killed“.

The shills and crackpots will continue to defend Barack Obama. Hillary take note. Donna Brazille appears to be slut shaming the nurses. The dirty nurses are to blame because they should have known what their job is and the risks involved.

The experts mock the public but it is the experts that need to be taught a lesson. Blame the nurses? Blame the doctors? No. Blame Barack Obama.

Here’s some of what the “experts” try to keep hidden. Doctors Without Borders has lost nine doctors to Ebola thus far of the sixteen that are infected. The very latest Ebola patient, a nurse, flew on a commercial plane filled with 132 passengers the day before her symptoms became evident. And yes, it is very possible that Ebola can spread through the air not just through bodily fluids contrary to what the “experts” in the United States have been saying for weeks.

The World Heath Organization says Ebola can incubate for more than 21 days not the lesser number of day as is widely presumed. There are now about 120 people being monitored to see if they have caught Ebola. This is the same Ebola that Ebola Obama said would not make a home in the United States.

Ebola Obama’s explosive diarrhea is everywhere. Ebola is the Obama October Surprise:

Ebola has become the October surprise of this year’s midterm elections, with Democrats and Republicans doing battle over everything from restrictions on travel to the disposal of a victim’s remains. [snip]

The issue is particularly fraught for Democrats, given signs that President Obama’s dragging poll numbers could help Republicans take control of the Senate. Though Ebola is unlikely to move the needle in specific races, political strategists say it adds to the darkening public mood.

“The situation with Ebola and what’s going on in Syria and Iraq — all of this is creating a high level of anxiety among voters and a sense of uncertainty about the future,” said Democratic strategist Doug Thornell.

Ebola Obama’s explosive diarrhea is evident on Wall Street today. After years of free money for Wall Street and a market bloated with empty financial calories today we once again witness drops at times of more than 250 points. The rise in the markets can no longer hide the Ebola Obama Economy and the results is that the economy is dragging down the markets and the markets will further drag down the economy. Midas-in-reverse.

Ebola Obama’s explosive diarrhea can be seen all over the Middle East. ISIS gains strength because of weak Obama. It is now more than just a possibility that Baghdad and Iraq will fall to ISIS and become part of a new Caliphate monstrosity.

Barack Obama’s explosive diarrhea is all over this year’s elections. Scott Brown is now ahead in New Hampshire, a race that Obama Dimocrats knew was safe. No longer.

Another sure win for Obama Dimocrats was North Carolina. No longer.

Ordinarily now is the time to abandon candidates that are more than four points behind. No longer. Barack Obama’s explosive diarrhea makes it likely that a Republican wave might sweep into office even Republican candidates now far behind in the polls.

Barack Obama’s explosive diarrhea has brought the party he infected in 2008 to lows not seen in thirty years and the damage will last a long time. Hillary, take note.

  1. Here it comes, I knew Admin was pounding the keyboard and I am braced for some tough love.

  2. One of the things about airplanes is, i always wipe the seats in the bathrooms and i never ever walk round an aircraft in just socks and unbelievably some do in bare feet……

I know a number of airline industry people and one of the number one complaints is people not wearing shoes onboard…..and people have caught hepatitis from that, airplane floors are full of dirt, bugs and bacteria……airplane toilet floors are full of urine, skin cells, other fluids……

Always keep shoes on and fly business if you can

  3. MoonOnPluto, we also advise people wear and keep their gloves on. Take them off to touch the face but keep those gloves on. They’re fashionable (splurge on some nice Coach leather gloves) and keep the germs away. Bathroom doorknobs. Never touch them with your damp hands.

During flu season keep those gloves on. Now with that Entero thing going around and kids back in school exchanging germs with one another, fashionable leather gloves are a must.

  4. and don’t forget, hospital grade sanitizing gel, use it whenever you can, oh and stop that handshaking of people, i avoid it at all costs these days……..and public restrooms, do not use them, you never know who sat on that seat before you or if you have too, carry a sanitizing gel spray in your hand bag.

  5. WaPo reports the nurse had a fever of 99.5 degrees Fahrenheit before boarding a passenger jet on Monday, a day before she reported symptoms of the virus and was tested, according to public health officials. “Even though there appeared to be little risk for the other people on that flight, she should not have traveled that way, Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said during a news conference Wednesday.”

Errr, so she was unwell and showing symptoms when she got on the plane, stupid cow…….

  7. nurse here… so here’s a few quick thoughts on the whole ebola thing… 70 healthcare workers involved that number is way too high. the number of rn’s, dr’s, resp tech’s ect should have been kept to a minimum.. it wasn’t… I stupidly thought that these healthcare workers were being monitored and kept in isolation i.e. like a sequestered jury, apparently not these workers were moving around going home to their families and now apparently taking flights across the country. The numbers will climb. WE are not ready. I work in a hospital I have not received 1 email, 1 inservice or any other form of education on ebola or for that matter entero 68. We are bracing for the worst, flu season is coming. This last year my phone rang off the hook hospital staffing begging me to come in to work as the hospital was using unused space in the hospital for pop up units where they would put the overflow pt’s. We are not allowed to refuse an assignment but It’s time for nurses to step up and refuse to take care of pt’s without the proper protective gear. Good luck to those politicians that parrot that the nurse is at fault, all is well until the nurse unions step in and the nurses walk.

  8. How would you like to be . . . oh, say, a fucking bot campaigner running around in Iowa, going door to door, trying desperately to drum up support for the candidate who is joined at the hip to Ebola Obama, and having doors slammed in your face. It would be heaven, or hell, depending on how long the choom supply lasted. Back in the good old days of mutually assured destruction, the old joke was if the missiles hit, jump under your desk and kiss you ass good-bye. The same advice should apply now for Obama dims, in this perfect storm of his making. If Zuckerberg thinks that dropping a token amount will exonerate him for his open borders push which will vastly increase the risk to the country, he had better think twice.

  9. Thomas Frieden is doing a fine job of reassuring the public and protecting Obama. The only thing he is not doing is protecting the public. But that is not why Obama installed him. We will survive this because we survived the cold war, according to Obama. What a fucking loon he is, the big media beloved messiah Obama.

That is the critical piece. It draws a clear unambigous connection between Obama’s dereliction of duty and the plague. His failure of leadership here as in the middle east is the conduit which causes a containable problem to become a world disaster. This truly is one for the history books, which Obama might not like so much even though he sees himself as a historic figure.

  11. JtJames, thanks for the report. GonzoTx has also given us a good overview of what is going on. The nurses might have to take a walk and tell the “experts” to take a long walk on a short pier. Also, tell Obama to go to Hell.

Admin: the reason your insight here is so important is because when the full magnitude of this disaster hits the public consciousness, and the effects of it are visible, and all eyes will then turn to the big media beloved messiah and ask how could this have been prevented and quo vadis. At that point, Obama will seize the opportunity to blame the CDC. But as your comment makes clear, the problem here is as much political as medical. It is the same kind of cover-up we saw on the eve of the 2012 election, only now, time is working against us. The safety of the nation is more important than the safety of dimocrats. Big media will do everything they can to obfuscate that issue, but your comments show that Obama is the one responsible and liable.

  13. CNN poll out today:

    http://edition.cnn.com/2014/10/15/politics/colorado-senate-poll/index.html

Republican Cory Gardner has opened up a four-point lead in a Colorado Senate race that’s key in determining whether Democrats can hold onto their majority, a new CNN/ORC poll shows.

Gardner held a 50 percent to 46 percent edge on first-term Democratic Sen. Mark Udall in the survey of 665 likely voters, conducted Oct. 9-13. [snip]

Traditional Democratic advantages among women and urban voters aren’t enough to overcome strong headwinds, said CNN Polling Director Keating Holland.

“Udall is getting clobbered in the all-important suburbs, as well as in rural areas, and his lead in Colorado cities is not enough to overcome that,” Holland said.

There is a gender gap, but in this case it appears to be working in favor of the Republican. Udall has a nine-point advantage among women, but that is dwarfed by the 20-point lead Gardner has among men,” he said.

Hurting Udall is an underwater favorability rating of 45 percent — with 51 percent of those surveyed saying they have an unfavorable opinion of the Democrat.

Gardner, meanwhile, is viewed favorably by 50 percent of likely voters, with just 42 percent saying their opinion of him is unfavorable.

Colorado’s governor’s race is even closer. Incumbent Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper is backed by 49 percent of likely voters, while Republican challenger Bob Beauprez has 48 percent support, the CNN/ORC poll found.

The Democratic incumbents are both outperforming Obama, who twice won the state’s nine electoral votes but now has an approval rating of just 39 percent in Colorado, while 59 percent of likely voters say they disapprove of the job he’s doing.

  14. Looks like Colorado is starting to pull away from the Dems, another 3 weeks and it will be gone probably in both races….I expect Hickenloopy to lose by a little too.

  15. During the race riots of the late 1960s, when black radical were burning down cities like Detroit and Newark, a Seattle cop told me that if that happened here and if he had to choose between his sworn duty to protect the public and his moral duty to protect his family, he would choose the latter. The CDC, and no less, the big media beloved messiah have a moral and a professional duty to make sure our first line responders do not become casualties of war. Having failed to do that, the idea of voting with their feet, meaning hitting the bricks as we are now seeing their counterparts do in west Africa is not an illogical reaction. I would hope that would not occur, but the situation calls for a real leader, not an Obama feted bureaucrat. In my opinion, the best guy to put in charge of this complex project would be Dr. Bob Arono who appeared in the clip with Judge Janine above. He is the real deal. He breeds confidence, and expertise. He has fought the disease in West Africa. He is known to the public. This is not the time to be introducing some new face. We do not need Obama for any of this. The situation requires a problem solver. Not an organ grinder’s monkey dancing to the tune of George Soros.

  16. Bad news followed by good news.

First, an Obama appointee federal judge struck down Texas voter id laws just in time for the November elections with two million illegals now in the state. An open invitation to voter fraud on a massive scale.

Now, the fifth circuit puts a stay of execution on that order. Consequently, the voter id laws passed by the citizens of Texas will apply to the November election, thus thwarting efforts by this Obama shill to enable voter fraud for the singular purpose of turning a red state blue. This is an ongoing project of the totalitarian left, the so called progressives.

Hidden camera exposé: Democratic senator who publicly opposes gay marriage privately says he is ‘not against it’

James O’Keefe, a conservative filmmaker known for guerrilla documentaries targeting liberals, sent a hidden camera into a recent Democratic fundraising event in Arkansas
The leader of the state’s Young Democrats gay caucus explained that while Sen. Mark Pryor publicly opposes gay marriage, he privately supports it
‘If you tell anyone I told you that, I’m gonna find you, and I’ll kill you,’ said the activist, Bailey Rae Bibb
Undercover spy posed as a gay man whose wealthy partner was considering donating to Pryor but questioned his position on the issue
Pryor is in a tight re-election fight against conservative Republican Congressman Tom Cotton, who forcefully opposes gay marriage
Arkansas is one of only a few red states where Democrat pols have publicly shunned gay marriage advocates in order to stay electable

    I cannot stand hypocrites.

  18. “Third Ebola patient flew on plane with symptoms present. The initial reports were no symptoms. New reports indicate she had a fever of 99.5. ”
    *****
From news accounts, it seems that the second nurse had detectable Ebola virus with a temp of 99.5 degrees. Be definition, “normal” human body temp. is in the range of 97.7 to 99.5; this nurse had a “normal” temperature. She was asymptomatic.

  19. Turkey may have its first case of Ebola….

Istanbul : University of Marmara Pendik Training and Research Hospital emergency department , a patient with Ebola virus was closed due to be quarantined . Emergency services were not accepted fully discharged hospital patients . Citizens from the hospital were referred to other hospitals .

According to the news Cihan News Agency, now the University of Marmara Pendik Training and Research Hospital at about 19:00 in the emergency department patient was brought from Sabiha Gokcen Airport .

  20. It’s interesting that CDC, HHS, news media, etc. are using their sociopath-in-chief’s “blame others” for Ebola screw up but blaming the nurses, the hospital, etc. is back firing. Where is the Charles Everett Koop for the Ebola crisis?

  21. The dour forever pessimistic George will seems to predict that the Republicans will not take the senate, and that the superior ground war of the forces of evil will trump the air ways effort. I do not think he is right. I think the democrats are heading into a perfect storm. Having done canvassing myself, and having failed to persuade the other party that canvassing is important in 2008 after Hillary conceded, I must say that canvassing is a useful tool at getting the base out to vote, but it will not trump the message, nor will it do much to persuade independents. Will predicates his prognosis on the arrival of the low information voter. But even that group must have some inkling of the dysfunction we are seeing with Obama, unless they have been living in a cave with the bones of Osama bin Laden. I take George Will with a grain of salt, and it would not surprise me if he was merely trying to be provocative or buck the tide. RCP is singing the same tune, but it will change the week before the election, due to momentum and the spiraling crises Obama is mis-handling.

  22. No shiiiiiiit Sherlock….

Michelle Nunn Too? Georgia Democrat Won’t Admit She Voted For Obama

It seemed like an easy question. “Ms Nunn did you vote for Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012?” But the Democratic Party candidate for Georgia’s open seat joined Kentucky colleague Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes in refusing to answer the question. Actually Ms Grimes stated that she didn’t want to answer the question, Nunn just ignored the query.

What is it with Democrats, why cant they say “yes I voted for him but he’s disappointment me,” or something like that? Do Nunn and Grimes really believe the voting public doesn’t already know who they voted for?

To do double the harm ask the question in front of a black audience.

    http://georgiatipsheet.com/2014/10/15/vote-obama-nunn-wont-say/

A video from pro-GOP opposition research group America Rising shows Nunn refusing to comment when asked by a tracker whether or not she supported the head of her party for the White House either time.

Perhaps more telling are the words of a Nunn supporter, who probably gave more pro-Obama comments than we’ve heard from Nunn publicly over the course of the entire campaign. “Yes, of course, yes, he’s the president…he’s done great things…healthcare,” someone can be heard saying.

It’s been speculated for days that Nunn would have to face the question sooner or later.

Expect every Obama Dimocrat to now be asked that question at every debate.

  25. Michelle Nunn joins Alison Grimes in refusing to admit she voted for Obama.

    Was she another Clinton delegate?

If so, is there a trend starting???

    I know, it’s just a dream.

    is there a trend starting???
    ———————
Perhaps. The PA-10 (GOP) House member has based his campaign upon the value of “Tough”. It was likely borne of reaction to an 8/1/14 incident:
Republican Tom Marino angers Nancy Pelosi with immigration comments on house floor 968,613 views.

In a raucous moment during the last session of the House of Representatives Friday evening, Republican Tom Marino reminded the Democrats that they had years to solve the immigration problem when they were in power and they didn’t have the courage to do so. This got Nancy Pelosi so angry she jumped up on her chupacabra hooves and ran after the congressman, berating him and pointing her skeletal finger at him.
    ————
Now Tom runs a campaign ad titled “Tough” – his new 30 second ad, “Tough.” Tom Marino learned toughness from his Dad, a firefighter. In Congress, he has brought this toughness to stand against Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi’s liberal agenda.

  27. I was a bit hasty, Shadow. This guy of course was not a delegate. He has just carried me away with his ad and with a flyer upon which he states his opposition to amnesty – so few do that. I guess that is as much as we can get from any GOP. lol.

Like most Democrats running this fall, Grimes cannot win the election without the support of the Democratic base, and the Democratic base expects her to vote for a Democratic president against his Republican opponent.
Having forthrightly identified herself as a Democrat, Grimes can go on to explain what kind of Democrat she is — a Clinton Democrat, a moderate Democrat, a Kentucky Democrat, a Blue Dog Democrat, or simply a woman who has shown voters that she is wise and if elected, will work hard to put their interest first — not simply try to score partisan points.

  29. So much for CDC’s Frieden blaming the nurse for flying; she notified the CDC that she had a temp of 99.5 and got the OK to fly from the CDC. Will Frieden go under the Obama bus before Nov.4??

  30. Rick Scott lost the Governorship tonight IMO. This is how republicans always seem to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

  31. http://www.nationalreview.com/article/390318/republicans-against-amnesty-ryan-lovelace

    Republicans against Amnesty
Candidates are winning by defying the RNC.

What a difference a national immigration crisis makes. Republicans across the country are defying the RNC’s post-2012 dictum that GOP candidates must soften their tone on illegal immigration and line up behind comprehensive immigration reform in order to attract support from the Hispanic community.

And it’s working for many of them. It may even be the key ingredient in a Republican Senate takeover if the issue motivates turnout among the party’s base.

Just look at Scott Brown, the moderate former Massachusetts senator and New Hampshire Senate hopeful, who has made immigration a hallmark of his campaign against Democratic incumbent Jeanne Shaheen. In September, Brown told talk-radio host Laura Ingraham, “This race is about immigration.” In July, he released his first ad chastising the “pro-amnesty policies” of Shaheen, who supported the Senate’s “Gang of Eight” bill, and he has flooded the airwaves with ads since. He has given speeches saying immigration is a national-security challenge above all else and written to Shaheen stressing the need to secure the border as a national-security imperative.

Republicans say Brown’s stance has boosted him in the polls. “The key for Scott Brown on this issue was the southern-border crisis and all of these different crises between ISIS, the southern border, Ebola, et cetera; all of a sudden it becomes more about national security,” says GOP strategist Ford O’Connell.

    Nice article, admin.

I have to say, I always wonder if there isn’t something behind Hill and Bill’s actions in regards to politics, and their campaigning for the dying dem campaigns at this time is no exception. Hillary and Bill have enjoyed unseemingly favorable news coverage when they are in front of the camera (some of the follow-up stories leave you wondering). I am on the fence though about how bad this Bill and Hill show is for Hillary. Admin makes good points about the soon to be dead campaign of Grimes. The question of when Hill will start really distancing herself from bumbles the great is a valid one as he sinks like a stone in popularity (and perception of competence) with the American people. But attaching herself to dems on life support at hospitals with petrol generators whose gas tanks are on ‘E’ can’t be a good decision. Let’s see how this all plays out.

As for the above, I am starting to like how it feels to be right WWWAAAYYYY before the middling peons see the same thing. I’m not comparing this fledgling outbreak on American soil to 9/11 – yet. The failure of imagination? THIS is exactly that failure. One of the things that the CDC does is to alert hospitals when there is something to look out for. Through the county public health offices, BOLOs are issued to all major and minor treatment facilities whenever there is a verifiable threat of Dengue fever, or fast moving influenza, or a severe cholera outbreak, or Lassa fever, or any one of a number of potential epidemics that spring up around the world. Why wasn’t that done AS SOON as ebola was identified in (wait for it) A MAJOR OIL PRODUCING REGION OF THE WORLD, MORE TRAVELED NOW BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEMS IN THE MIDDLE EAST?!?!?!?!?!?!? The keystone cops could do a better job than this administration. And this doddling idiot running the CDC? I’m sorry we weren’t ready? Don’t worry, there is no chance for a major outbreak in the United States? SERIOUSLY?!?!? Why hasn’t he moved heaven and earth to get the pharmaceutical company(ies) that made the experimental drug that was taken by the doctor and the nurse first infected in full production mode stockpiling the stuff for immediate use? Why is it just today that uncle idiot has recognized that THE US NEEDS TO BE IN THE MIDDLE OF WEST AFRICA FIGHTING THIS BUG?!?!? Why hasn’t he called on CGI and its global NGO outreach to mobilize supplies to the region?

Will we make it to 2016?

    ——————
    Wrong.

    It is criminal.

The crime is reckless endangerment of the nation.

PS> If you call him crazy he will invoke the insanity defense to evade responsibility.

That is the only excuse to date which he has not tried, so why give him the opening, Tucker?

  35. It gets back to what Richard Rodriguez said when Obama said, in effect, my hull is so large and the hole in it is so small that it cannot sink. The more holes there are the sooner it will do just that–sink. And nothing invites more holes in the hull as much as not banning flights to the United States from Ebola affected countries.

  36. Democrats who run from Obama take a risk

That threat rings hollow. Consider the source. It comes from Brazille, a left wing operative, who conspired with Karl Rove against her own party. In short a traitor. Therefore, let us hope that when it does come crashing down, it lands like Dorothy’s house did in the Wizard of Oz, right on the head of this loud mouthed Washington hog. Meanwhile, here is Joni Ernst ready to castrate hogs people like Brazille. And hear fat Donna squeal as I reach for the mute button, the way I do when Obama speaks.

How dare he question the conduct a messiah, especially one worshiped, installed and protected by big media.

The explanation for his intransigence on the point is clear and has been since J.R. Dunn at the American Thinker wrote these words about Obama in 2008:

“Obama (bless his heart) . . . is a FLAKE.

A flake is not only a screwup, but someone who truly excels in making bizarre errors and creating incredibly convoluted disasters. A flake is a “fool with energy”, as the Russian proverb puts it. (“A fool is a terrible thing to have around, but a fool with energy is a nightmare”.)

Barack Obama is a flake, and the American people have begun to see it. The chief characteristic of a flake is that he makes choices that are impossible to either understand or explain. These are not the errors of the poor dope who can’t grasp the essentials of a situation, or the neurotic who ruins things out of compulsion, or the man suffering chronic bad luck.

The flake has a genius for discovering solutions at perfect right angles to the ordinary world. It’s as if he’s the product of a totally different evolutionary chain, in a universe where the laws are slightly but distinctly at variance to ours. When given a choice between left and right, the flake goes up — if not through the 8th dimension. And although there’s plenty of rationalization, there’s never a logical reason for any of it. After awhile, people stop asking.” (snip)

Most of the current “unsubscribe” processes are fast – one click does it.
Not so with this DSCC. Shows how desperate they are.
First click got me to a page with the official DSCC header plus “WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT” “Please stick with us and support President Obama’s agenda”
Next line, a big blue decision block “Yes, I want to stay!”
Underneath that in tiny print: do you still want to unsubscribe?

[I clicked unsubscribe. lo and behold there was another decision page asking if I just wanted fewer emails. I declined again and was thusly allowed to complete the unsubscription process which included a text box which I could use to tell the why. I gave them a short sentence then put in the twitter link to A Primary Most Foul. 🙂 ]

I’ve probably given too much detail here, but did wish you to know how desperate they sound. I made screen captures of their extended plea, and may get them on twitter.

The Centers for Disease Control told the incoming Obama administration in 2008 that it should establish 18 regional disease detection centers around the world to adequately safeguard the U.S. from emerging health threats like Ebola, according to an agency memo.

But six years later, as the government struggles to contain the fallout from a deadly Ebola outbreak at home and abroad, the CDC still has only 10 centers — and none of them operates in the western Africa region hardest hit by the deadly virus.

“The existing centers have already proven their effectiveness and impact on detecting and responding to outbreaks including avian influenza, aflatoxin poisoning, Rift Valley fever, Ebola and Marburg virus outbreaks,” the CDC said in its memo to the Obama transition team, which The Washington Times obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request.

Add this one to the long grand jury indictment against the big media beloved, worshiped, installed and protected messiah on the charge of reckless endangerment of the American People, and the world. This, in addition to his pin pricks against ISIS as they roll across the middle east with their barbaric atrocities should be sufficient justification for a second Nobel Prize for doing what? Why nothing of course. Two Nobel Prizes for doing absolutely positively nothing, waiting to see what happens, and if it is bad blaming others and if it is good giving big media selfie in the Rose Garden which they can then take to bed with them. Now he tells us in stentorian verse that he will be monitoring all steps to deal with the Ebola crisis from here on out. The only question I have is will he attend the briefings, will he read the reports, when the evidence to date indicates that this is not in his skill set, or range of behaviors. Again, the question: does a cat bark?

  44. I have lost all faith in the ability of the American People of this day and age to make sound political judgments the way their parents and grandparents did. All that I ask is they have enough grasp of reality to reject the policies of failure when that failure is in evidence, everywhere you look. Obama has told them in his nauseous Stenorian tones, to make no mistake, his policies which have led uniformly to failure–and not just any failure, but national failure writ large will be on the ballot in November. Take a good hard look at those policies as recounted by Erickson in the article below. This is what the American People will be voting on this November. Will they reject failure, or will they continue to embrace it with open arms, clueless as to where that will lead? George Will and others are betting that the stupidity of the electorate as seen in the 2008 and 2012 elections will prevail. Me? Like I said, I have lost the faith I once had. But in the final analysis, time will tell.

    The President Who Cried Wolf
    By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | October 16th, 2014 at 04:30 AM | 30

ISIS was just a group of amateurs. They were the junior varsity team. Now they are overrunning Iraq. But the President told us that.

We could keep our doctor if we wanted to. The President told us that.

Insurance rates would not go up and no one would lose their insurance. The President told us that too.

He also said the Syrian rebels were too rag-tag and unprofessional to fight ISIS, then armed them to fight ISIS.

The President told us Ebola would not show up here, then that there would not be an outbreak here, and now that there will not be a serious outbreak here.

His political appointees spent Monday trying to blame Republicans for not giving them enough money. That blew up in their faces on Tuesday, at which point they told us all not to panic — and damn you for even thinking of politicizing any of this. Then they seemed to panic when they discovered the second nurse with Ebola had gotten on a commercial flight with fever.

We now know people at the CDC told the nurse she could get on the plane even though they knew she had a mild fever.

But they still don’t want to stop flights from West Africa.

The President seems to only respond to news cycles. He would not cancel a fundraiser due to Benghazi, but with panic setting in over Ebola and his prior statements coming back to haunt him he was willing to cancel a fundraiser yesterday and stay in Washington today.

And what will he do? Not stop travel from Africa.

President Obama’s promises have all come with expiration dates. Now most Americans realize his statements of fact usually turn out to be wrong. He has managed to destroy Americans’ faith in big government. Maybe we will all live to 2016 in order to shrink it.

  45. Ever in search of of the positive, we’re trying to think of a good song for Ebola. We know of this song for a whole bunch of diseases:

We can’t think of an Ebola theme song.

  46. Here’s another “disease” theme song:

We’re not going to rack up all the “heartache” songs as disease songs. We still can’t think of an Ebola theme song.

  47. Anyone remember Ferguson? There have been so many disasters since it’s almost as if those are the good old days.

The main reason Ferguson has been out of the picture lately is that Obama and friends want to use Ferguson to stoke outrage just before the election when it is announced that the police officer will not be indicted.

But Ferguson is back a wee bit due to reporting from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch:

    http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/witness-adds-new-perspective-to-ferguson-shooting/article_ab6e1e03-c49a-5c7f-8786-b0e88ec79349.html?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed&mobile_touch=true

Witness adds new perspective to Ferguson shooting

A stream of eyewitnesses has been testifying in secret before a grand jury considering whether to indict police officer Darren Wilson in the fatal shooting of Michael Brown near the Canfield Green apartments in Ferguson.

One Canfield resident — who said he saw the killing of Brown from start to finish and talked to the grand jury recently — has given the Post-Dispatch an account with some key differences from previous public statements from other witnesses.

Among the recollections of the witness, who agreed to an interview on the condition that his name not be used, were:

    • After an initial scuffle in the car, the officer did not fire until Brown turned back toward him.

    • Brown put his arms out to his sides but never raised his hands high.

    • Brown staggered toward Wilson despite commands to stop.

    • The two were about 20 to 25 feet apart when the last shots were fired.

He would not detail what he had told the grand jury but said the members seemed fair and asked a lot of questions. [snip]

Some have said Brown raised his arms high in surrender, giving rise to a common protesters’ chant of “Hands up, don’t shoot” while mimicking the move. But this witness said Brown never put his hands straight up, but held his elbows straight out from his torso, with palms turned up in a sort of gesture of disbelief.

Perhaps the most widely quoted witness has been Brown’s companion that day, Dorian Johnson, who said Wilson had grabbed Brown by the throat through the open window of the officer’s police SUV. Johnson, 22, also said Wilson shot Brown at the car, then ran after Brown, who put his hands up in surrender, and then shot him again.

This latest witness, who is black, told the Post-Dispatch that Johnson took off running toward West Florissant Avenue after the first shot went off inside Wilson’s police SUV. [snip]

In the latest account of the Brown killing, the witness said he saw Wilson’s police SUV stop near Brown and Johnson as they were walking in the middle of Canfield Drive. He said he heard Wilson say something to them, but not what. He said Wilson drove past them, then backed up.

The witness said he had been on the right side of the police SUV and did not have a clear view of what happened on the opposite, driver’s side. “There was a tussle going on,” he said, adding that he believes he saw Wilson’s hat fly off.

He then heard a shot and saw Brown run, followed by Wilson. He said Wilson aimed his handgun at Brown and yelled: “Stop! Stop! Stop!”

The witness said Brown did stop, mumbled something he could not clearly hear and took a step toward Wilson.

When he stepped foot on that street, the officer told him to stop again, and he fired three shots,” the witness recalled. “When he (Brown) got hit, he staggered like, ‘Oh,’ and his body moved. Then he looked down.

His hands were up like this (he gestures with arms out to the side and palms upward), and he was looking at the officer and was coming toward him trying to keep his feet and stand up. The officer took a few steps back and yelled, ‘Stop,’ again, and Michael was trying to stay on his feet.

He was 20 to 25 feet from officer, and after he started staggering, he (Wilson) let off four more rounds. As he was firing those last rounds, Michael was on his way down. We were thinking, ‘Oh my God, oh my God, brother, stop, stop.’ He was already on his way down when he fired those last shots.”

The witness said Wilson didn’t have to kill Brown. “It went from zero to 100 like that, in the blink of an eye. … What transpired to us, in my eyesight, was murder. Down outright murder.

One witness of many with different accounts. His legal conclusion of “murder” is not valid when compared with his testimony.

  48. wbb, you’re right many voters are guilty of poor judgements that are based on misinformation, no information, and/or outright lies. Obama and the Dims, along with MSM have made it easy for people who are not that worried about facts, to remain ignorant.

O’s signature move: Hide the bad news, or distort it until after people vote.

The O Admin will delay enforcing parts of Ocare, (which will result in increased costs to Ocare users) until November 11, after midterm elections. Same goes for enforcement of immigration policy – deportations delayed until after midterms.

This article mentions those two delays for political gain, along with the fact that O has quietly placed severe restrictions on use of more than a million acres of public land. Using a 100 year old law, he has declared large sections of land to be monuments, thus restricting use. Congress has not not invited to weigh in on the actions. There have been 13 of them since O was selected president, with most monuments declared during O’s second term.

    http://thehill.com/policy/energy-environment/220837-obama-monuments-rile-the-gop

Deceiving voters – or not fully informing them may garner a few votes, but in the long run, people remember it when they’re screwed over.

Functioning on his own with no congressional input is backfiring on O. And, when you don’t involve congress in the decisions made, you can’t blame congress when things start going South.

MADRID (Reuters) – A Spanish priest who worked in Africa has been taken to hospital in Madrid with symptoms of Ebola, a hospital source said on Thursday.

The priest had been in Liberia and had been in contact there with people infected with Ebola, El Mundo newspaper reported, adding he was hospitalized on Thursday after developing a fever of over 37.6 degrees Celsius.

He was in the same religious order as two other Spanish priests who were repatriated from West Africa in recent weeks with the disease, and who later died in Madrid, the newspaper said.

An unnamed person who was being monitored for possible symptoms of Ebola after coming into contact with infected Spanish nurse Teresa Romero has developed a fever and was admitted to hospital in Madrid on Thursday.

Fernando Simon, head of the Spanish ministry of health’s crisis management team, revealed that the person admitted to Madrid’s Carlos III Hospital was one of 68 in the category considered to be at “low risk” of infection.

A further 15 people are considered to be at “high risk” but none of them have yet shown any symptoms, according to Spanish daily 20 Minutos.

Simon underlined that the patient’s fever was mild and that the admission to hospital was a precautionary measure in line with the protocols established in the wake of the Ebola crisis.

Michelle Obama Mocks Democratic Voters: ‘I Ain’t Going to Vote… I Couldn’t Wake Up’

In speeches designed to fire up Democrats to vote in midterm elections, President Obama has at times described voters in his party as having a “congenital defect.” Wednesday, First Lady Michelle Obama suggested the problem might just be that they’re sleepy.

Mrs. Obama spoke at a rally in Philadelphia for the Democratic candidate for governor of Pennsylvania, Tom Wolf. In an effort to boost turnout in November, the first lady told the crowd that she runs across voters “who are like, no, I ain’t going to vote, or I couldn’t wake up.” But she stressed that every vote matters:

So this is where — when I find people who are like, no, I ain’t going to vote, or I couldn’t wake up, or it doesn’t matter, or why — 20 votes decided who your Governor was in 2010, and it could decide who the Governor is this time.

The first lady wasn’t finished with the sleepy-voter theme. Later in her remarks, she expanded on the idea:

You know your 20 people. You know the people in your neighborhood, in your church, in your family who aren’t focused. And you can’t leave anybody behind.

That nephew you know who sleeps — get him up. Wake him up. (Laughter.) Young people, you all know folks who aren’t paying attention. Your classmates, your dorm mates — wake them up, get them out.

Cory Gardner is ahead by 6 points in a Quinnipiac University poll out Thursday, the latest in a string of surveys that show the Colorado Republican Senate candidate in the lead.

Gardner leads Democratic Sen. Mark Udall, 47 percent to 41 percent, among likely voters, the poll shows.

A CNN/Opinion Research Center survey, in the field during the same time period and released on Wednesday, put Gardner up 4 points, 50 percent to 46 percent.

  55. The second Cory Gardner story:

    http://hotair.com/archives/2014/10/16/the-spectacular-implosion-of-a-cory-gardner-hit-piece/

For about 37 minutes on Wednesday night, many in the press and virtually every Democrat were certain that Colorado Rep. Cory Gardner’s Senate campaign was doomed.

On the sports-themed Gawker affiliated website Deadspin, an ostensibly thorough investigation seemed to have revealed that Gardner lied about his high school football career. In fact, it appeared that, according to this bit of investigatory journalism, Gardner never played high school football at all.

“Everybody around Yuma (pop. 3,524) knows everybody around Yuma,” Deadspin’s Dave McKenna, a former Washington Post sports reporter, wrote. He noted that 77-year-old Chuck Pfalmer, one of Gardner’s former High School teachers, would know if Gardner played for the school’s football team. Pfalmer insisted that Gardner never took the field in a Yuma uniform.

Gardner, who graduated in 1993, never played in any of the Yuma games Pfalmer saw under the Friday night lights,” McKenna wrote. “Not at ‘fullback’ or ‘middle linebacker’ or anywhere else.”

Certainly, inflating your biography when running for office is an easy way to doom your campaign, but misrepresenting your extracurricular activities in high school does seem a trivial matter. Why the political class was certain that Gardner’s career was going to be destroyed by this revelation is anyone’s guess, but many did seem convinced Gardner was about to endure a bad news cycle. [snip]

Considering that there has been a dearth of good news for Sen. Mark Udall (D-CO) in recent weeks, it makes some sense from a political perspective to elevate this supposed revelation beyond its appropriate proportion.

Even some reporters marveled at Deadspin’s scoop: [snip]

But the story began to fall apart within an hour of its publication. The first cut came from Gardner himself:

I never thought my unheralded sports career would make it onto @Deadspin pic.twitter.com/llKf62Z7UL #copolitics

    — Cory Gardner (@CoryGardner) October 15, 2014

Deadspin inserted a one paragraph update at the bottom of their story which noted that Gardner’s campaign disputed the facts they printed, but it failed to include the photographic evidence which refuted the very premise of their story.

It would not be long, though, before Deadspin would have to issue clearer “update.” The Denver Post soon got ahold of the septuagenarian former high school teacher who served as Deadspin’s single most important source, Chuck Pfalmer. It turns out, the former teacher believed he was misquoted by McKenna.

“He was not a starter, but he played in those years,” Pfalmer told The Denver Post. “That’s a low blow about (Gardner).”

“I’ll tell you this: I’m proud to know him,” he continued. “He’s a very intelligent man. I don’t have nothing against him. He’s one of my best students.

  61. The Republican Election Hand Gets Better

The GOP is gaining ground with fundraising, ad buys, undecided voters and independents.

Democrats and Republicans have placed very different tactical bets in this year’s Senate races. Republicans are betting that President Obama’s low job-approval rating (40% in Wednesday’s Gallup poll) rubs off on Democratic candidates. In midterm elections, candidates of the president’s party have historically ended up with vote totals close to his approval rating. For example, Democratic Senate candidates ran on average 3.7 points behind Mr. Obama’s job approval in 2010. GOP Senate candidates ran on average 1.3 points ahead of President George W. Bush ’s job approval in 2006.

In this year’s 11 most-competitive Senate contests, Democrats must run far ahead of the president’s job approval to escape defeat. According to the Wednesday Huffington Post’s Pollster aggregate summaries, Mr. Obama’s job approval is 35% or less in Alaska, Arkansas, South Dakota and West Virginia; 40% or less in Colorado, Iowa, Louisiana, Montana and New Hampshire; and 45% or less in North Carolina and Michigan.

Democratic Senate candidates in these states are desperately trying to detach themselves from the leader of their party. Asked during a recent debate if she had voted for Mr. Obama, Kentucky’s Alison Lundergan Grimes refused to answer, claiming a “constitutional right to privacy.” When Arkansas Sen. Mark Pryor was asked last week if he thought “the Obama administration has done an appropriate job handling the Ebola crisis,” he paused, then answered, “Um, I would say that it’s hard to know.”

Democrats are also attacking Republican candidates with a negative ad blitz. As of Tuesday, Democratic candidates and groups have spent $222.5 million for television ads from Oct. 1 through Election Day. While Republican candidates and groups have spent $264.8 million, Democratic groups reserved more of their time earlier, paying much lower rates. This translates into more Democratic ads than Republican spots.

However, several GOP candidates in key states have done very well raising money in recent months, and they (as opposed to groups) can buy ad time at the lowest rate. While not all candidates have reported their third-quarter (July-September) numbers as of this writing, Republican contenders have outraised Democrats at least in Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Louisiana, Montana, New Hampshire and West Virginia. They will use those dollars to even up the number of ads. The National Republican Senatorial Committee had its best September ever with $15.5 million, almost matching the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee’s $16 million haul.

Money and ad buys matter, but what matters more is whether the quality of the candidates’ messages will attract undecided voters in the final weeks. Here, too, both sides are making different bets.

Republicans are counting on undecided voters breaking against the party in power. Democrats are counting on undecideds to stay home or to split evenly, with as many turned off by individual Republican candidates as are down on the president. This doesn’t appear to be happening.

In the Real Clear Politics average of polls, Republican challengers lead in eight of the 11 most-contested races, with nine improving their numbers or margins since Sept. 1. Republicans also lead and have improved their numbers or margins in all three vulnerable GOP seats: Kansas, Kentucky and Georgia.

Democrats ran an impressive get-out-the-vote effort in 2012 and say their ground game will produce victory this year. Republicans also are spending heavily and deploying new technology and data. This matters: A study by Harvard’s Ryan Enos and the University of Chicago’s Anthony Fowler found Mr. Obama’s 2012 ground game produced a 1.6% turnout advantage. If Democrats keep that edge this year, it erases the GOP’s leads in Colorado and Iowa.

But the Democratic advantage may not be holding. Take Iowa: At this point in 2010, 18,835 more Democrats had returned early ballots than Republicans. This year the Democratic lead has been cut to 8,951. Even with their 2010 lead, Democrats lost that year’s races for governor and senator.

Finally, Democrats are betting on independent candidates, hoping supposed independent Greg Orman beats Kansas Sen. Pat Roberts, and that South Dakota’s Larry Pressler, a former Republican who supported Mr. Obama, drains enough GOP votes to defeat Republican Mike Rounds.

Republicans are hoping they can show voters that these independents are Obama supporters hiding their Democratic affiliation. That may be working in Kansas. Mr. Roberts was tied with Mr. Orman on Wednesday in the RCP average, having erased a 5.3-point Orman lead in just two weeks.

Surprises are possible in the remaining 19 days before the election. But there are a dwindling numbers of cards in the deck, and Republicans appear to have the better hand.

  64. Not much faith in Rove’s assessments after his prediction of a Romney victory.

    Nonetheless, here it is:

  65. Holder’s deputy said to be preparing resignation

The Justice Department second-raking official is preparing to step down, completing an exodus of top brass from the agency, according to published reports. Deputy Attorney General James M. Cole would become the third member of the Justice Department’s brain trust to announce his departure in recent weeks.

  66. Rick Scott, on the other hand, looked ridiculous.

If he had made a joke of Crist’s rules infraction–said something to the effect that he knows Crist is under intense pressure, inclined to sweat, so if he needs that crutch to get through the evening, conveniently hidden from public view, he will grant him that much, just as long as the fan does not give him the answers to debate questions as well. If Ric had said that then he would have made his point, and carried the debate.

Instead he said, I will not play ball with a cheater, so I am taking my pet duck and going home. Wunderbar.

Big media then took it from there. They have dumbed down the electorate to the point that policy differences are haaarrrd to understand. Hence the only thing that matters is theatrics. Theatrics is everything.

In sum, my reaction to that vaudeville act was identical to that of jbstonesfan–it may well have cost Ric the election. The campaign attacks modeled on the Clint Eastwood routing about the infallible big media beloved messiah are what? . . . easy to imagine.

‘Who’s the idiot with the clipboard?’ Disbelief and panic as mystery man WITHOUT a hazmat suit helps second Ebola nurse board her plane to Atlanta, disposes waste and then climbs aboard

Man casually dressed in shirt and pants seen on TV walking with Ebola patient Amber Vinson
He carried a clipboard and walked alongside Ms Vinson and healthcare workers who were ALL dressed in hazmat suits
He has been identified as a supervisor for Phoenix Air, the company that flew Miss Vinson to Atlanta
Miss Vinson walked onto the plane in Dallas and the man without protection also boarded the plane, flying with her to Atlanta, Georgia
Social media has dubbed him the ‘clipboard man’ – expressing shock that he came so close to an infected patient and unprotected

    ………………….

Idiots like this will be the ones spreading it.

  71. CDC now saying they are investigating the first flight the nurse took to Ohio……as the nurse seems have started to become unwell back then……..oh look, it gets worse and the story changed again.

  72. I really believe that Obola made his statement about the election being about his policies because he is delusional enough to think that would get Hispanics and illegal immigrants to the polls to vote for enough Dimocrats to keep the Repubs from being able to impeach him. Alternatively, if they fail to do so, he has an excuse for not granting them the amnesty he has been dangling from a pole like a carrot. Tactically, it is not a bad move, for him. The Party, on the other hand, should be outraged.

Both the Country and the Dimocratic Party have a bad case of Obola.

  73. As we approach a crucial mid-term election, big media have heightened their efforts to sway the election using familiar tactics from their progressive playbook.

They shill for their favorite candidates, suppress the truth about the left’s failed policies, and smear conservative candidates they oppose. Here are some of the latest examples:

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews speculated whether the Republican senatorial candidate Thom Tillis from North Carolina engaged in sexism when he aggressively debated his Democratic opponent. Evoking the vile war on women smear, Matthews lectured, “Talking down to your female opponent may not be the best strategy.”

Incumbent Colorado Senator Mark Udall made this cringe-inducing comment during a debate in Colorado: “Steve Sotloff and James Foley would tell us, don’t be impulsive. Horrible and barbarous as those executions were, don’t be impulsive.” None of the big three networks—ABC, CBS, and NBC—bothered to report on this insensitive and callous invocation of the two dead journalists killed at the hands of ISIS terrorists.

Mary Landrieu, the incumbent senator from Louisiana, is under fire for taxpayer-funded flights, but not a single network has considered her potential abuse of taxpayer dollars worth reporting.

  74. So now let me get this straight, if the CDC now says that the Nurse with the 99.5 temperature should not have flown on commercial airlines (even though they gave her permission), what is the temperature limit for travelers flying into this country from West Africa?

Don’t tell me, let me guess. It’s 99.???????????????????????????????

    Very nice touch admin.

As you may already know, it is a palatial wigwam.

Closer to The Breakers than a run down tar shack.

And big media has covered up this fact, because it conflicts with their pre-determined narrative.

After all, it suggests that she is closer to being in the 1 percent than her hapless followers could conceive or accept.

And that would spoil the brand before it had been formally introduced.

A legitimate news organization takes the facts as they find them, and develop a narrative to fit them.

    Big media does the opposite.

Big media constructs the narrative and then cherry picks the facts that support it.

    But back to Lizzie.

As between a sleek T-Bird and an Edsel, Lizzie Borden Warren is an Edsel.

She makes me nuts, just like Brazillenut makes me nuts. MO makes me nuts, Nasty makes me nuts……………

  78. AFRICA STEMS EBOLA VIA BORDER CLOSINGS, LUCK

BY TOM ODULA AND LYNSEY CHUTEL

NAIROBI, Kenya — Health officials battling the Ebola outbreak that has killed more than 4,500 people in West Africa have managed to limit its spread on the continent to five countries – and two of them appear to have snuffed out the disease.

The developments constitute a modest success in an otherwise bleak situation.

Officials credit tighter border controls, good patient-tracking and other medical practices, and just plain luck with keeping Ebola confined mostly to Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea since the outbreak was first identified nearly seven months ago.

Senegal did so well in finding and isolating a man with Ebola who had slipped across the border from Guinea in August that the World Health Organization on Friday will declare the end of the disease in Senegal if no new cases surface.

Nigeria is another success story. It had 20 cases and eight deaths after the virus was brought by a Liberian-American who flew from Liberia to Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital of 21 million people, in July. Nearly 900 people were potentially exposed to the virus by the traveler, who died, and the disease could have wreaked havoc in Africa’s most populous nation.

Instead, Ebola appears to have been beaten, in large part through aggressive tracking of Ebola contacts, with no new cases since Aug. 31.

WHO, the U.N. health agency, called it “a piece of world-class epidemiological detective work.” The organization is set to declare an end to the outbreak in Nigeria on Monday.

Nigeria had a head start compared with other West African countries: Officials were able to use an emergency command center that had been built by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to combat polio.

Border closings may also be helping halt the spread of Ebola.

Ivory Coast, Guinea-Bissau and Senegal, all of which share borders with at least one of the three most affected countries, have closed those borders.

The disease continues to ravage Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone, overwhelming their health systems.

And some observers warn that border closings can have limited effect in a region with highly porous boundaries and few resources to patrol them. Border posts are sometimes easily skirted.

There is also concern that travel restrictions will make things worse in the affected countries by creating what amounts to an economic embargo.

“We have been isolated,” said Kaifala Marah, Sierra Leone’s finance and economic development minister. “It really is killing our economies.”

Authorities in some African countries imposed tight air travel restrictions, tougher than those contemplated by the U.S. or British governments.

South Africa and Zambia slapped travel and entry restrictions on Ebola-stricken countries. Kenya Airways, the country’s main airline, stopped flying to the affected lands.

In Zimbabwe, all travelers from West Africa are put under 21-day surveillance. Health officials regularly visit those travelers to check their condition.

Nigeria initially banned flights from countries with Ebola but relaxed the restriction once it felt that airlines were competent to take travelers’ temperatures and follow other measures to prevent people with Ebola from flying.

Nigeria has teams taking the temperature of travelers at airports and seaports.

In Ethiopia, the main international airport in Addis Ababa screens all arriving passengers – including those from Europe and the U.S. – for fever using body scans.

South Africa has tested 14 people for Ebola, all of whom proved negative.

“To tell you the truth, we were testing them just to settle your nerves,” Aaron Motsoaledi, South Africa’s health minister, told reporters. “Clinically speaking, most of them did not fit criteria for testing.”

Another factor is luck. All it takes is one infected person to slip around guards at a border post or get aboard a plane.

“God has been merciful we haven’t reported a case in Kenya, but we really need to up our disaster preparedness,” said Dr. Nelly Bosire, an official with Kenya’s main medical union.

“The fact we stopped doing the West African flights had an impact. On that part I think we got it right.”

Elias Meseret in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Michelle Faul in Johannesburg and Farai Mutsaka in Harare, Zimbabwe, contributed to this report. Chutel reported from Johannesburg.

  79. The Party, on the other hand, should be outraged.
    ____________________

I totally agree, Lu The Part yshould be outraged about the votes O cost Dims with that statement. But, more than that, they should have been outraged about damage O was doing to the country and to democracy a long damn time ago. That’s why I have nothing for the Dims. Either they approved of Obama’s actions and policies or they couldn’t come up with enough cojones among them to tell O to straighten the hell up, get off the effing golf course, stop worrying about offending damn terrorists, and start worrying about Americans They should have demanded that he stop issuing edicts as if he were royalty, and do the right thing for the country. But, they didn’t. When he lied about people being allowed to keep their doctors and their insurance plans, – the Dims knew and allowed him to screw over Americans – hell, they helped him. They saw him and Holder deliberately inciting racial conflict and they allowed it to happen – they hoped to benefit from those AA votes, as well. ‘

Finally, some Dims are getting worked-up about the damage Obama has done to their chances of getting elected. But they never stepped up and protected the country from the from the damage inflicted by O. They never had the guts to act in our best interest. Not a damn one of them deserves to be reelected.

  80. Wow, look at this hitpiece on Hillary…………….

    http://www.nationalreview.com/article/390524/return-clinton-democrats-not-really-jonah-goldberg

Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes is running for U.S. Senate in the great state of Kentucky. She is a woman of conviction, of substance, of principle. “I’m not an empty dress,” she insists, “I’m not a rubber stamp, and I am not a cheerleader! I am a Clinton Democrat.”

I’m old enough to remember when “Clinton Democrat” had a fairly specific meaning. Back when Bill Clinton first ran for president, he did so as “new kind of Democrat.” He decried the “brain-dead policies of both parties.” He was so determined to dispel the image of the Democrats as being soft on crime, he took time off from the campaign trail to approve the execution of Ricky Ray Rector, a man so mentally disabled that when he ate his last meal, he left some of his pecan pie on his plate and told guards he was saving it “for later.”

Clinton broke with his party’s racial politics by deliberately picking a fight with the deservedly forgotten rapper Sister Souljah. He vowed to reform welfare (though it took a Republican Congress to get him to follow through) and end the era of “something for nothing” government handouts.

The Clinton Democrats were the spawn of the Democratic Leadership Council, a proudly centrist, pro-business, and hawkish (by liberal standards) outfit within the Democratic party, which is why left-wing Democrats often distrusted and occasionally despised it. Jesse Jackson said DLC stood for “Democrats for the Leisure Class” and ridiculed it as a “Southern white boys’ club.”

The DLC closed up shop in 2011, in large part because the Democratic party had moved far to the left, a fact repeatedly confirmed by Pew and Gallup surveys showing that Democrats favor activist government more than they used to and are much more comfortable calling themselves liberals than they were even a decade ago.

So it’s interesting that Grimes, and a number of other Democrats, are calling themselves “Clinton Democrats.” Grimes goes so far as to insist, “I’m not Barack Obama.” She won’t even say whether she voted for Obama in 2008 or 2012, invoking her right to ballot secrecy — a right she eagerly waives to tell people she supported Hillary Clinton in the primaries.

Now it’s obviously true that Bill Clinton did not like empty dresses, unless he was the one emptying them, but I don’t think that’s what Grimes means by “Clinton Democrat.” So what does she mean? When asked, she said that being a Clinton Democrat involves “growing the middle class the right way.”

“As we saw under President Clinton’s tenure,” she explained, “especially when you increase the minimum wage, you actually help to expand the middle class.” On another occasion, she said: “We all know what being a Clinton Democrat is all about . . . It’s about remembering what President Clinton said in his campaign in 1992 — it’s the economy, stupid!”

The only serious response to this has to be, “Huh?”

While it’s true that Clinton raised the minimum wage, few economists would argue it had much to do with the booming economy of the 1990s. More to the point: Obama has been campaigning relentlessly to increase the minimum wage. (I’d also note that “the economy, stupid” was James Carville’s phrase, not Clinton’s.)

In fact, when Obama recently declared that his policies were “on the ballot” in November, he was explicitly referring to a minimum-wage hike.

In other words, Grimes is running against Obama’s policies while supporting Obama’s policies. She just doesn’t want to say so because Obama is unpopular and Hillary Clinton is popular.

And that raises another intriguing question: Is Hillary Clinton a Clinton Democrat? Left-wing writer Joshua Micah Marshall concluded in 2001, when Clinton was in the Senate, that she wasn’t. Clinton opposed the DLC agenda on almost every front. And when she was first lady, it was widely believed that she wasn’t a centrist but a voice for the Left in her husband’s administration.

Indeed, most histories suggest that Bill reclaimed the center in the mid-’90s only because Hillary’s health-care scheme (the precursor to Obamacare) was seen as too left-wing. This lent weight to the theory that Bill himself wasn’t so much a principled centrist as a shrewd opportunist who went wherever the polls took him. (This was the man, after all, who consulted polls to decide where he would go on vacation.)

So maybe Grimes really is a Clinton Democrat.

    ……………………….

Saucer of milk for the bitch cat.

  81. by the way on Twitter….Goldberg labelled his hitjob as “The cowardice of “Clinton Democrats”………………what a gobshite…..

  82. This is scaring the crap out of the Dems, heavy Dem district going republican in Minnesota.

    http://www.examiner.com/article/mills-leads-nolan-kstp-poll

In our exclusive new KSTP/SurveyUSA poll, Republican challenger Stewart Mills leads incumbent Democrat Congressman Rick Nolan 47 percent to 39 percent. Another four percent support Green Party candidate Ray Sandman and 11 percent are undecided.

“This is a shocking poll and may suggest we have Oberstar all over again,” said University of Minnesota political scientist Larry Jacobs, referring to longtime Democratic incumbent Jim Oberstar’s loss to Chip Cravaack in 2010. “Clearly Mills is benefiting from a fundamental change in the 8th District that is trending in the Republicans’ direction.”

Saying that this is shocking is understatement. For years, Jim Oberstar handily won re-election. In 2008, Oberstar won with 68% of the vote. In 2006, Oberstar won with 64% of the vote. In 2004, Oberstar won with 65% of the vote. There’s no question that this poll is giving Ken Martin and the DFL heartburn. It’s one thing to lose a tight race by a point or two. It’s another for a Republican to handily win a traditionally DFL district seat by almost 10 points.

Couple that with Thursday’s news that private polling by the Tarrance Group shows Torrey Westrom leading Collin Peterson in Minnesota’s 7th District. If Republicans flip both those districts, a full-fledged political earthquake will have hit Minnesota.

It’s still to early to predict that type of Election night celebration for the Republican Party of Minnesota. Still, the thought that it’s possible at this point in the campaign will get the Republican base energized.

Couple those results with Mike McFadden’s positive closing argument and there’s a legitimate reason to think Republicans will enter the stretch run with momentum on their side. That’s before talking about Dan Severson’s positive momentum in the Minnesota Secretary of State race.

If Republicans enter the final week leading in the Seventh and Eighth districts, Dan Severson leading the Secretary of State’s race and the Iron Range trending away from the DFL, the GOP has reason to think they have a chance of recording a major victory over the DFL.

The rumbling Rick Nolan is hearing under his feet is a political volcano getting ready to erupt.

Update: This is terrible news for Nolan:

  83. Oh i handled lab specimens of the ebola guy but hey i booked a cruise, so i’m going…..some idiots around because disease has never spread on a cruise ship before, has it?

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2014/10/17/cruise-ship-carrying-texas-ebola-nurse-refused-entry-in-belize/

A Texas health-care worker who “may have” handled lab specimens from Ebola victim Thomas Eric Duncan has been isolated in a cabin on board a commercial cruise ship in the Caribbean, according to U.S. Department of State. And Belize Coast Guard won’t let the vessel or any of its thousands of passengers into port.

The Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital employee and a partner boarded the ship Oct. 12 in Galveston, Tex., before the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated the requirement for active monitoring, the State Department said in a statement. Although the worker is showing no symptoms of the disease, the U.S. government is working with the cruise line to get the ship back to America “out of an abundance of caution.”

The employee, who has not been named, did not come into direct contact with Duncan, the first patient diagnosed with Ebola in the United States. However, he or she may have been exposed to his clinical specimens.

“It has been 19 days since the passenger may have processed” Duncan’s fluid samples, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said in a statement Friday morning. “The cruise line has actively supported CDC’s efforts to speak with the individual, whom the cruise ship’s medical doctor has monitored and confirmed was in good health. Following this examination, the hospital employee and traveling partner have voluntarily remained isolated in a cabin.”

Neither the State Department nor an Associated Press report quoting unnamed White House officials confirmed where exactly the ship was or which cruise line was operating it. However, Belizean news reports state that the cruise ship Carnival Magic was being kept offshore after the government of Belize learned that a U.S. hospital worker on board may have been exposed to Ebola. The government assured its citizens that the health-care professional “never set foot in Belize.”

    http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/10/17/u-s-soldiers-get-just-four-hours-of-ebola-training.html

U.S. Soldiers Get Just Four Hours of Ebola Training
As the U.S. military rushes to combat Ebola in West Africa, soldiers are receiving on-the-fly instructions on how to protect themselves against the deadly virus.

American military operations to fight Ebola in Africa are unfolding quickly—forcing the military to come up with some procedures and protocols on the fly.

Soldiers preparing for deployment to West Africa are given just four hours of Ebola-related training before leaving to combat the epidemic. And the first 500 soldiers to arrive have been holing up in Liberian hotels and government facilities while the military builds longer-term infrastructure on the ground.

For soldiers at Fort Campbell and Fort Bragg preparing for their deployments to West Africa, Mobile Training Teams from the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID), based out of Fort Detrick, have been tasked with instructing them on Ebola protocols.

A team of two can train as many as 50 personnel over that four-hour time frame, USAMRIID told The Daily Beast. The training includes hands-on instruction on how to put on, remove, and decontaminate personal protective equipment, followed by a practical test to ensure that soldiers understand the procedures.

“All training is tiered to the level of risk each person may encounter,” said USAMRIID spokeswoman Caree Vander Linden.

The training process sounds daunting: One USA Today report described soldiers being told that Ebola “basically causes your body to eat itself from the inside out” and that Ebola is “worse” than what soldiers encountered in Afghanistan. Others reportedly heard that the disease is “catastrophic” and “frightening… with a high fatality rate,” though the chances of contracting it are low.

“I’ll be honest with you,” one soldier told the newspaper. “I’m kind of scared.”

The military maintains that the risk of contracting the virus is minimal. Ebola is not an airborne disease, and there are no plans for U.S. service members deployed to West Africa to have any contact with sick patients.

“I’m not an epidemiologist, but it’s been shown that this disease is most manifest when handling bodily fluid—blood, other sorts of fluids, and there is no plan right now for U.S. soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines to do that,” Maj. Gen. Darryl Williams, the officer in charge of America’s operations center in Liberia, told reporters Thursday. “As long as you exercise basic sanitation and cleanliness sort of protocols … I think the risk is relatively low.”

There are just over 500 military service members in West Africa, serving in Senegal and Liberia. A major part of their mission is logistics and construction: The U.S. military is building a 25-bed hospital and 17 Ebola treatment units, as well as training health-care providers in Liberia.

A small number of specially trained soldiers from USAMRIID are at the highest risk, and an exception to Williams’ comment that soldiers are not handling bodily fluids. These service members have been supporting a laboratory in Liberia to run Ebola tests on patient samples, but are also are highly prepared to deal with infectious diseases.

The first 500 American troops in Liberia are so far living in improvised quarters in hotels and government building, according to congressional and military sources. The military is working to transition in the future to “life support areas” that will house the thousands of soldiers who eventually arrive to support the U.S. mission to combat Ebola in West Africa, according to a military spokesman. They are also utilizing local drivers and vehicles to support their movements.

“The hotels are fairly well controlled in terms of access… They have a fairly well-structured screening process going in and out,” a Senate aide briefed by the Pentagon on the military’s procedures told The Daily Beast. “It sounds like they have an adequate level of screening and protective measures in place. That being said, once they move to a self-contained quarters, that will probably be better.”

Soldiers based in Liberia have their temperature measured several times per day, and are not permitted to shake hands.

The military maintains that American service members have only limited interactions with locals on the ground. But some American soldiers are working with the Armed Forces of Liberia on a day-to-day basis, and others are training health-care providers on how to combat the virus.

Further, an Army spokesman on the ground in Monrovia could not say whether the hotels and government buildings used by American personnel are used exclusively by them, or whether they were sharing the facilities with foreign nationals.

Instead, the military spokesman focused on the precautions that they are already taking: Soldiers based in Liberia have their temperature measured several times per day, and are not permitted to shake hands. They are also are required to frequently wash their hands with a chlorine solution. Some locations even employ chlorine mats that service members are required to wipe their feet on in order to enter.

“The facilities that we’re in have been vetted by our doctors. [They] have gone through the facilities to make sure that they’re safe for our soldiers,” Army spokesman Lt. Col. Michael Indovina said. “We’re very confident. We’ve had very good luck from the time when we’ve arrived on the ground.”

Congress has been slow to give the green light to funding for military operations combating Ebola in Africa, in large part due to initial skepticism over whether there was a sufficient plan for protecting American service members in Liberia.

In mid-September, the Obama administration submitted a $1 billion request for Ebola funding. The request was for a movement of leftover funds from an overseas war spending account, requiring a sign-off from several key congressional figures.

When the Obama administration briefed staffers of the Senate Armed Services Committee on Sept. 19, it was criticized for not adequately explaining what steps the military would take to ensure soldiers’ health.

“If they had bio-security procedures in place, they weren’t adequately articulating them to Congress,” said an aide to Sen. Jim Inhofe, the top-ranking Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee. “When they first came over, they were not able to answer a lot of questions about what procedures were in place.”

It was not until Oct. 7 and 8 that the Obama administration returned to Congress to brief top staff on Ebola protection protocols, among other issues. By that time, there were already several hundred American soldiers in West Africa. On Oct. 10, congressional leaders agreed to increase the level of Ebola funding to $750 million.

The military did not publish a memo outlining Ebola protection guidelines until Oct. 16.

“But that doesn’t mean guidelines didn’t exist before,” said a Pentagon spokesperson. “Our memo standardizes across the services what we expect everyone to do in preparation of going, while there, and upon return.”

Still, it’s indicative of the extemporized approach that the Pentagon has had to adopt out of necessity, amid an escalating crisis and little time for formal preparation and procedures.

“The initial plan was rudimentary to begin with, [but] I don’t think it reflects apathy on [the Pentagon’s] part as much as this is a new mission set for them and they were thinking through the contingencies,” said an aide for the House Armed Services Committee. “Still, bio-security remains one of our leading concerns. How do you keep the troops safe and how do you treat them if they get sick?”

Military spokespeople told The Daily Beast that they were relying on CDC guidelines to protect their soldiers. But CDC guidelines have proven to be flawed: for example, those guidelines characterize people with a fever above 100.4 degrees as “high risk.” So when Dallas nurse Amber Vinson—who had unknowingly contracted Ebola while treating the nation’s first victim of the virus–checked in before boarding a commercial flight, her temperature of 99.5 fell below the temperature of concern outlined by the government agency, and she boarded the plane.

When questioned by reporters Thursday about possible flaws with the CDC’s guidelines, Maj. Gen. Williams and U.S. Ambassador to Liberia Debra Malac both said they were sticking by those protocols.

“Our embassy has been open and operating in this Ebola environment for six months. We have been following very carefully the CDC guidance and advice from day one, and we have… [felt no] need to have to make a change or deviate from those guidelines that have been or very successful,” Malac said.

Vice President Biden’s Son Was Discharged From Navy Reserves For Cocaine, Now Is Ukraine Energy Executive

Hunter Biden, the son of Vice President Joe Biden, was discharged from the US Navy Reserves for testing positive for cocaine according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. Hunter received two waivers to enter the Naval Reserves – one for being older than a typical applicant at 43 and one for a previous drug related “incident.”

After being granted the waivers Biden had been commissioned as an officer with the rank of ensign and served in public affairs before testing positive for cocaine and being discharged.

  100. Let us be clear on what this traitor Obama is up to . . .

    Whoa Nellie.

Is that anyway to talk about the President?

Just because you do not like him doesn’t mean you should disrespect the office.

    Oh, really?

Well then lets judge him not on the office he stole, but in terms of his destruction of this nation.

From the economy to foreign affairs to his playing of the race card to his serial lies to his failure to protect the country.

Should we exonerate him for those cardinal offenses, just because someone–not me, and hopefully not you installed him?

The answer to that question is self evident, ergo the term traitor is entirely apropos.

That said, lets discuss what that ridiculous dog and pony show he had yesterday was really about.

First of all on the question of a travel band he says everyone involved agrees it will not make the American People safe.

That is of course a lie.

What it really means is I do not want a travel ban, because I want the American People to suffer.

Whoa Nellie. How dare you accuse him of that?

Oh, it is not a stretch.

Not when you realize that he is a sociopath.

Notice how several psychiatrists and experts in the field have made that diagnosis.

And his behaviors to date confirm their diagnosis to the tee.

But do not take their word for it.

All you need to do is compare what his behavior in office to the profile of a sociopath, and you will quickly see they are right.

    http://www.mcafee.cc/Bin/sb.html

And one prominent doctor who has studied him in depth has opined that the reason Obama wants open borders is because he wants the American People to suffer.

And when he calls up the national guard it becomes almost a protection racket, and a possible prelude to martial law–something he spoke about in 2008.

In other words, a Reichstag fire.

So he covers up his real intentions with this lie–aided and abetted by his partner in crime, big media.

He says: everyone involved agrees that sealing the borders will not make the American People safe.

That is a lie on two levels.

First, like the rabid ideologue he is he casts this as an all or nothing proposition.

From a public health standpoint, there are degrees of safety, and that is the question he purposely avoids.

Would it make it safer to follow the lead of other nations and shut the border?

Since Obama is a self proclaimed follower, if he did not have an ulterior motive (supra) then it would be easy for him to follow their lead.

Second, he says everyone involved agrees with him.

    That too is a lie.

There has been vigorous debate within the administration as to whether a travel ban would protect the public health and he has scotched it.

And certainly the medical community at large, and members of both parties have voiced grave concern, given the potency of this virus.

Given the seriousness of the problem, and the key stone cops behavior by his man at the CDC there have been calls for director to step down.

Obama has refused to heed those calls just like he refused calls for Sebelius to resign for similar incompetence, because they are doing his bidding.

There have also been calls for the appointment of an Ebola Czar with sound medical credentials reporting directly to him.

He has responded by appointing a political hack who reports to Rice(?) and Homeland Security.

In other words, this is a purely political move which does not address the medical crisis, but is merely intended to protect him.

    He is hunkering down.

And why is it that he is letting a manageable problem become a crisis?

More specifically, why is it that he refuses to shut the border–and to lie to the American People.

I think the answer is obvious.

Apart for his desire to spread the misery as it were, there is a huge policy initiative which he intends to advance right after the election.

I am talking about amnesty, open borders, and setting the stage for the nightmare that the General who head our southern command worries about.

I believe his refusal to adopt a sensible approach to this crisis is because he thinks that if he backs off it will jeopardize amnesty.

  101. So Alaska, lets look at that today……

Crist’s campaign is also offering to send donors a hand-held fan if they chip in at least $5.

Crist, who served as the Republican governor of Florida from 2007 to 2011, ran as an independent in the 2010 Senate race (because Rubio was going to clean his clock as a Republican) and then became a Democrat in 2012. HuffPost Pollster, which tracks and combines all publicly available polling data, shows the two candidates in a virtual dead heat, with Crist ahead of Scott by just one percentage point.

(and keep in mind Crist has been pro life and pro choice, wanted Bill Clinton impeached, against gay marriage to for gay marriage and surrounded by associates/crooks who are now in jail…etc, etc, etc…whatever way the wind blows he goes…opportunist to the nth degree)

    ******************
…how the Dems could even consider him and then go out and campaign for him is outrageous…

this man literally makes me nauseous…he gets the award for the biggest phoney going…

…and we wonder why our country is so messed up…with leaders like this we are going down the tubes and into more and more corruption…(and again…Scott is no prize or paragon of virtue either)

  103. Compare and contrast:

    1. Obama (a non-doctor and alleged black man): EVERYONE involved in the Ebola problem agrees that a travel ban would NOT make the American People safe.

    2. Dr. Ben Carson (a world class doctor and true black man who I would support): if he were president, a “common sense” flight ban would have been ONE OF HIS FIRST ACTIONS in response to the Ebola outbreak, particularly given the large number of other nations that have already imposed travel restrictions.

“You don’t want to let something that dangerous voluntarily come into your country,” Carson said Thursday. “If other countries have seen the wisdom in doing this, why are we the last?”

Dr. Carson said the Obama administration will likely impose a flight ban sooner or later, and that the delay has probably been caused by political considerations or simple ignorance.

“Either there’s some politics here, or there isn’t much deep thinking, one of the two,” he said, adding, “Neither one of those are things that are appealing.”

Question: how do we prevent Obama from getting us all killed? And how many Americans have to come down with this terrible disease before Obama does what logic, common sense, and a growing body of medical opinion is now urging.

Point: Obama wants this crisis–wants it badly so he can expand the scope of government. As his chief of staff said: never let a good crisis go to waste. And, if you have a problem, mishandle it in such a way that it becomes a crisis so you can do whatever you rant. (Note: he said this would be a transparent presidency. If you assume the bad man theory, then he is transparent and totally predictable. Too bad the country cannot get its mind around this undeniable and pivotal fact).

  104. Part two to wbb’s 4:19

Washington, DC – Judicial Watch has learned that the Obama administration is actively formulating plans to admit Ebola-infected non-U.S. citizens into the United States for treatment. Specifically, the goal of the administration is to bring Ebola patients into the United States for treatment within the first days of diagnosis.

It is unclear who would bear the high costs of transporting and treating non-citizen Ebola patients. The plans include special waivers of laws and regulations that ban the admission of non-citizens with a communicable disease as dangerous as Ebola.

One source tells us that the Obama administration is keeping this plan secret from Congress. The source is concerned that the proposal is illegal; endangers the public health and welfare; and should require the approval of Congress.

  105. Well, here is Erickson’s take on Obama’s motivation.

As you can see it closely correlates with my view of his motivations.

This is why I call him a traitor.

It is also why he must be impeached.

Remember My Obama Theorem to Understand the President’s Handling of Ebola

    By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | October 17th, 2014 at 07:22 PM | 0

So many of you seem confused and confounded by what President Obama is doing.

You really just need to remember my theorem about Barack Obama to understand him.

The world will be more safe if the United States is less safe.
The world will be more stable if the United States is less stable.
Act against one and two only when polling demands it and only then in a way that does not actually undermine one and two.

President Obama entire Presidency can be explained by this theorem.

  106. At this point, the problems are linear. Soon they will be exponential. Obama is determined to bring the plague into this country, and it seems no one is willing to stop him.

The estimable Richard Rodriguez is right where I am on all of this:
    ————————

“At this point nothing makes sense any more. The time for sanity is over. If the president had taken some reasonable quarantine measures in the first place, instead of using policy to “message” the principle that West Africa should not be stigmatized, then two nurses might not be sick, dozens of health care workers would not be clapped in isolation, a major hospital would not be paralyzed, and millions or possibly tens of millions of dollars in contact tracing costs could have been saved.

None of which by the way stopped the Dallas specimen handler from getting on the cruise ship.

Under-reacting proved able to backfire as badly as over-reacting. The policy of permitting flights from West Africa was presented with such overweening confidence that when it failed it demolished what it advocated in the most embarrassing possible manner. Often, the failure of one extreme opens the door to its opposite. After the spectacular humiliation of Obama’s open door policy nobody — not Belize at least — wants to commit an Obama. They saw what happened, and whether or not it has any chance of happening to them, whether it makes any medical sense or not, politicians the world over are under pressure to do the opposite of what Obama did. (snip)

Only yesterday Roger Simon asked, “how can it get worse?” The saga goes on.

  107. The announcement of Ron Klain as the new Ebola “czar” checks all the boxes: Harvard Law, longtime Democrat party op, veteran of the Clinton, Al Gore and John Kerry campaigns. The problem is, it checks all the wrong boxes. The Progressive myth is that we ought to have a government of experts — top men! — to handle the nation’s problems in a calm, deliberative manner. The reality is that we have a nation of unscrupulous lawyers, amoral apparatchiks and political hacks whose only area of expertise is manipulating the electoral and governmental systems and getting rich by doing so.

I mean, does this make you feel confident?
    ——————–

Ten Things the Ebola Crisis Tells Us About the Obola Administration

    Michael Walsh

    October 17th, 2014 – 11:13 am

N.B. What a shock: faced with a crisis that could demolish the Democrats in the coming midterm elections and permanently cripple his post-election plans to continue “fundamental transformation,” President Obama has done the only thing he knows how to do — seek a political solution to get him past Nov. 4, in the hopes that he can fool the American public one last time.

After learning this week that an infected nurse had traveled by air, Mr. Obama scrapped most of his schedule in favor of meetings with top national security and public health officials. While praising their work to date on Ebola, the president said they had full plates — including the fight against the Islamic State and the onset of flu season — and another person might be needed “just to make sure that we are crossing all the t’s and dotting all the i’s going forward.”

Mr. Klain will report directly to Lisa Monaco, Mr. Obama’s homeland security adviser, and Susan E. Rice, his national security adviser, the official said.

Islamic State, the flu season, a lethal virus hitherto confined to Africa — just another day at the office for President Golf n’ Fund-raise. What this appointment — made only under duress, and purely for political reasons, since there is absolutely nothing Ron Klain personally can do to stop the spread of the Ebola virus now that the barn doors at our borders and airports have been left wide open for ideological reasons — tells us is this:

    1. If a retread party hack like Klain is the best Obama can do, then the Democrat talent pool is incredibly shallow. Naturally, though, Obama wouldn’t think of going outside it.

    2. The President considers Ebola a political/messaging problem, not a medical problem. Klain is an an insider process guy, not an expert in the field.

    3. The fact that we need a “Czar” to cut across federal agency red-tape and make things happen expeditiously is an indictment of the federal agencies themselves, although no Democrat would ever dare to suggest such a thing. The choice signals that, as Ronald Reagan said, government itself is the problem, not the solution.

    4. The reason they won’t dare is that the federal agencies — unelected hives of beetling bureaucrats, scurrying beneath the media surface — are the sources of their power. You don’t alienate or fire your most ardent union voters and financial supporters

    5. This is a government devoted to process, not results. Its most deeply held belief — a by-product of its quasi-Marxist belief in the “labor theory of value” — is that putting in hours and hitting “metrics” is the job itself, not whatever it ostensibly happens to be about; hey, even if you die, they get paid. In this sense, bureaucrats are similar to to the education majors who teach our children in the public schools, with no particular expertise in anything but theory. And the results speak for themselves.

    6. With theory ascendant over common sense, the government’s adamant refusal so far to ban travel to and from West Africa and its affected nations proves conclusively that Leftists are perfectly willing to have you die for their ideological beliefs.
The longer this goes on, the more the panic will spread — look what happened at the Pentagon earlier today, or on this cruise ship. If you haven’t started to panic yet, then read this.

    7. Regarding the open borders and open airports, a larger issue: why is the Left so adamantly opposed to the people’s right to defend themselves? There is nothing “racist” about closing the country to travelers from certain countries in west Africa — heck, the Africans have already done it themselves.

    8. In twice electing Barack Obama president Americans made a choice: professional politicians over men of integrity. Symbolism over substance (hello, Nobel Peace Prize). Potential over accomplishment. Guilt over responsibility.

    10. If the naked malevolence of the Leftist project for America isn’t visible to you now, then you’re beyond help.

But hey, not to worry — Kevin Spacey played Ron Klain in a movie. So it’s all good.
