Three Lynch Mobs Unleashed By Barack Obama: #Ferguson #ISIS #Perry

The Barack Obama Chicago dictionary defines “justice” as a perversion. For Barack Obama INJUSTICE is the goal. Perversion of the law is the means to that goal. That is why Barack Obama has in this month alone unleashed three lynch mobs.

In Ferguson Missouri Barack Obama henchman Eric Holder declared that because of his racial history he is on the side of the mob not the duly authorized officers of the law. Governor of Missouri Jay Nixon who for 16 years served as Attorney General of Missouri has also declared his mission is to lynch the police officer:

On the eve of a grand jury’s being convened to go through the facts and decide whether there should be a prosecution of the policeman in this case, Governor Jay Nixon of Missouri has gone on television to say that there should be a “vigorous prosecution.”

There was a time when elected officials avoided commenting on pending legal processes, so as not to bias those processes. But Governor Nixon apparently has no fear of poisoning the jury pool.

The only alternative explanation is that this is exactly what he intends to do. It is a disgrace either way.

Race is the wild card in all this. The idea that you can tell who is innocent and who is guilty by the color of their skin is a notion that was tried out for generations, back in the days of the Jim Crow South. I thought we had finally rejected that kind of legalized lynch law. But apparently it has only been put under new management.

Television people who show the home of the policeman involved, and give his name and address — knowing that he has already received death threats — are truly setting a new low. They seem to be trying to make themselves judge, jury, and executioner. [snip]

If we can’t be bothered to stop and think, instead of repeating pat phrases, don’t expect to live under the rule of law. Do you prefer the rule of the media and/or the mob?

“No Justice, No Peace” means “do what we demand regardless of the law or we will riot.” “Justice” for Barack Obama and his thugs means mob rule.

The increasingly credible reports that Michael Brown beat up the police officer before he himself was shot by that police officer are, well, increasingly credible. Even the contradictory report from a CNN source: Darren Wilson didn’t suffer an eye socket fracture acknowledges the police officer was injured. But the facts do not matter to mobs or their mob leaders like Barack Obama and Eric Holder.

That’s “lynch mob #1”.

Chris Matthews of tingle fame has noticed another perversion of the word “justice”:

MATTHEWS: I don’t know why he used the word ‘justice.’ It’s not appropriate here. This is an attack on our country, we have to react to it. This is a national, er, our country versus this group that has declared war on us.

FINEMAN: Well, Chris –

MATTHEWS: What’s justice mean in this con– I don’t know why the word’s used, like we’re going to go to the World Court with this?

FINEMAN: Well, especially since he had previously in that same statement basically depicted them as a, as killers who, cold-blooded killers who deserve no quarter.

MATTHEWS: They’re all in this!

FINEMAN: Yeah, I think he also said they don’t belong in the 21st century –

MATTHEWS: All the ISIL crowd belong –

FINEMAN: — or that they don’t belong in any century. But the question is, Chris, and some of our people at the Huffington Post have been looking into this, there’s a school of thought that says, ‘Obviously, this is exactly what ISIL wants.’ They want to engage us, they want us to attack. Their whole strategy, their whole theory is to push our buttons in a way that we commit –

MATTHEWS: Well, then we’re going to help them out.

FINEMAN: Well, that’s, that’s, that’s the concern, and that’s the conundrum [crosstalk] that the President has right now.

MATTHEWS: The American people — that’s what I’ve been saying, Andrea [Mitchell], for a long time now. No American president can survive if he lets Iran get nuclear weapons, and no American president can survive if he lets Americans be beheaded on international television with impunity. Impunity! He has to strike back, as an American, it’s in our soul!

Obama weakness or collusion (isn’t it about time for Big Media and Chris O’tingles to consider the real possibility that Barack Obama’s actions are meant to harm America?), or both, unleashed lynch mob #2. With lynch mob #2 we get an actual head on a Muslim platter.

Lynch mob #3 like lynch mob #1 features an American Grand Jury. Injustice perverts justice. The wolves run the hen house. The wolves disguise themselves:

Perry Grand Juror Was An Active Democratic Party Delegate During Jury Proceedings

Rho Chalmers, who disclosed to the Houston Chronicle yesterday that she was a member of the grand jury that indicted Texas Gov. Rick Perry, was an active delegate to the Texas Democratic Party convention during grand jury proceedings. Chalmers’ active participation in Democratic state politics is important because she claimed yesterday to the Houston Chronicle that her decision to indict Perry, a Republican, was not based on politics.

“For me, it’s not a political decision,” Chalmers told the newspaper. “That’s what a grand jury is about – take the emotion out of it and look at the facts and make your best decision based on your life experience.”

More troubling, however, is the fact that Chalmers attended, photographed, and commented on an event with Democratic state Sen. Kirk Watson while grand jury proceedings were ongoing

Watson was a witness in front of the grand jury. On June 27, 2014, Chalmers shared a photo of the Watson event on a community Facebook page she started called Developer’s Dungeon. “Senator Kirk Watson telling the story of the Wendy Davis fillibuster (sic),” she wrote in a comment accompanying the picture.

The grand jury was selected in April of 2014 and its proceedings did not conclude until it returned two indictments of Perry last week. While grand jurors are not generally prohibited from engaging in political activity, Chalmers’ apparent giddiness at attending an event for a grand jury witness calls into question her ability to objectively scrutinize his testimony. [snip]

Knowingly seeking out participation in an event featuring a grand jury witness while grand jury proceedings were ongoing also seems highly questionable.

Numerous posts from both of Chalmers’ Facebook pages — her personal page, which she shares with her husband, Davis, and her “Developer’s Dungeon” page — make clear that she is a partisan Democratic activist, and that she was an active participant in the Texas Democratic Party’s state convention in June while grand jury proceedings were ongoing. [snip]

Her personal Facebook page shows that Chalmers “likes” the following Facebook groups: University Democrats, Central Austin Democrats, Black Austin Democrats, and South Travis United Democrats.

The University Democrats Facebook page crowed about Perry’s indictment shortly after it was announced.

Chalmers also implied support of Democratic gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis in a post, photo, and comment from November 24, 2013.

The Travis County grand jury that indicted Governor Rick Perry was a lynch mob subverting the law. As with the lynch mob grand jury convened in Ferguson the law is twisted by Barack Obama and his fellow travelers.

The rule of law is the enemy of lynch mobs. Barack Obama is a threat to the rule of law.

  1. Sowell answers some questions:

Then there are the inevitable bullet counters asking, “Why did he shoot him six times?” This is the kind of thing people say when they are satisfied with talking points, and see no need to stop and think seriously about a life-and-death question. If you are not going to be serious about life and death, when will you be serious?

By what principle should someone decide how many shots should be fired? The bullet counters seldom, if ever, ask that question, much less try to answer it.

Since the only justifiable reason for shooting in the first place is self-protection, when should you stop shooting? Obviously when there is no more danger. But there is no magic number of shots that will tell you when you are out of danger.

Even if all your shots hit, that doesn’t mean anything if the other guy keeps coming and is still a danger. You can be killed by a wounded man.

Different witnesses give conflicting accounts of exactly what happened in the shooting of Michael Brown. That is one of the reasons why grand juries collect facts. But, if Michael Brown — a six-foot-four-inch, 300-pound man — was still charging at the policeman, as some allege, there is no mystery why the cop kept shooting.

But, if Michael Brown was surrendering, as others allege, then there was no reason to fire even one shot. But the number of shots tells us nothing.

None of this is rocket science. Why bullet counters cannot be bothered to stop and think is a continuing mystery.

Among the other unthinking phrases repeated endlessly is, “He shot an unarmed man.” When does anyone know that someone is unarmed? Unless you frisk him, you don’t know — until, of course, after you have shot him.

The only time I ever pointed a firearm at a human being, I had no idea whether he was armed or unarmed. To this day I don’t know whether he was armed or unarmed. Fortunately for both of us, he froze in his tracks.

Was I supposed to wait until I made sure he had a gun before I used a gun? Is this some kind of sporting contest?

Some critics object when someone with a gun shoots someone who only has a knife. Do those critics know that you are just as dead when you are killed with a knife as you are when you are killed by a gun?

  2. Another responsible black man speaks:

Carson said, ‘Look at my hometown Detroit and Chicago, New Orleans, Washington D.C. where the murder rates are astronomical. How many black males were killed by police last year? 100. How many black males were killed by other black males? 5,000. 50-1. That’s a huge problem. We can’t afford to be allowing these people just to be slaughtered in the streets and not doing anything about it. This is where we ought to be directing our attention. We can’t afford to just throw those precious people away.”

In reference to Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Carson said , “It’s become politically incorrect to actually put your finger on the real problem. And you look in some of these cities like Chicago, Why don’t we talk about their failed gun laws? And why don’t we talk about what is their mayor doing? Why are things getting so bad? Because he’s a friend of the secular progressives. We have to stop picking and choosing who the friends and foes are and start looking objectively at how do we solve these kinds of problems because we can’t afford it.”

  3. Obama: ISIS could have been my son, etc.

Well, some who are in a position to know, think ISIS IS Obama’s son.

Not by intent but by dereliction.

Meanwhile, back in Martha’s vineyard, the secret password is: “Fore!”

CNN/NBC: isn’t the Messiah just wonderful.

44% of the public: Obama is doing a fine and dandy job as president.

Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American People.

“[Obama] has been dragged kicking and screaming every time an American force has to be used and, like it or not, we are the sole super power on this planet and if we aren’t going to do it, who is going to do it?” VanDyke said.

“Now that we started this we have to just wipe ISIS out.”

    – Matthew VanDyke, filmmaker and friend of James Foley

  4. Race Pimps vs. War Tanks:

Not The Country Our Founders Envisioned

But surely the blinkered country that radicals Obama (The One)/Holder (The Enforcer, Frank Nitty)

And the UBER CORRUPT NBC/CNN are determined to bring about.

Which can only end in violence.

And Ferguson is the perfect storm.

You have a nasty thug boosting Swisher Sweets from the corner store and roughing up the merchant.

Then, like flies to a barnyard, you have swarms of race pimps breathlessly buzzing to the scene to further fuel the rage and delegitimize the very banner behind which they march.

Then come the “po-po,” dressed in military gear and riding in tanks of war — all of it the final designs of a big government welfare state that came to power promising to solve all your problems.

This black-clad brute force stings all the more deeply coming from the hand that delivers food stamps, free cell phones and health care for everyone. It is the moment that slaves of the Dependency State learn that government bestows only a false dignity upon them. Indeed, they are despised now more than ever.

Finally arrive the media, swooning to relive Freedom Summer in Selma. But these modern frauds come from such narrow and sheltered lives they don’t know the difference between ear plugs and rubber bullets.

    What could possibly go wrong?

Well, for starters, an unarmed teenager is dead, shot six times by a cop. That is an unspeakable tragedy for his parents, his family and anyone who cares about justice and human life.

Turns out the guy was a bully and a thief and it appears he may have charged the police officer who killed him. But he belonged in jail, not a coffin.

It is entirely possible that the officer felt his life was in jeopardy. But no one with a conscience can argue that the teenager’s life was an appropriate price to pay.

How is it that the very force that exists to “serve and protect” winds up shooting an unarmed teen six times and killing him? It is a question that should haunt every single police chief in the country today.

Another question: How in America have we allowed Andy Griffith — wise, amiable and firm — to morph into a weaponized Rambo — blind, helmeted and sheathed in armor — to turn rogue against us? Even the smallest towns in America now sport tanks, mine-resistant trucks and sophisticated weaponry that emasculates the Second Amendment to the point of protecting individual rights to bear nothing more than peashooters.

In despair, the founders would just shake their heads, knowingly.

And how is it that the media in this free country are so dumb, lazy and dishonest that they portrays the modern “tea party” movement as being somehow racist? Have these people not read five minutes of history? Do they not realize that the very first victims of the militarized police state so feared by tea partyers would be blacks living in urban hotbeds of poverty?

Again, and I am not making this up, look no further than the silly fool playing reporter in Ferguson who actually thought a set of discarded earplugs were rubber bullets fired by police.

Perhaps the most important question of all: Why was young Michael Brown not already in jail? The pictures of him stealing cigars from the convenience store with such beastly force and blithe entitlement suggest this was a fairly routine heist for him. No wonder the punk charged at a cop who stopped to ask him routine questions.

And how does a kid that young appear to have become such a seasoned — if petty — criminal? Was he raised by people who taught him to steal whatever he wanted? Was he raised by people to be a bully and use his size to intimidate people?

Was Michael Brown raised in a society that taught him from birth that because of his circumstances, he will never be allowed to succeed and that every failure he endures in life will be someone’s fault other than his own? Was he born with an excuse in his mouth — an affliction even worse than being born with a silver spoon?

Just look at the race pimps like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. After a career of stirring people up and engendering deep bitterness toward the boundless opportunities America offers, they are rolling in the bucks. How is that working out for you?

President Obama and Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. — a more Wall Street version of the race pimps — are doing even better, jet-setting around on private planes paid for by you and me. All the while, stirring up the bitterness and convincing every next generation that here in America their lot in life is hopeless.

But they’re in charge now. Lucky for them, they are hiding behind endless phalanxes of militarized police. Somewhere, George Wallace is jealous.

  5. The rioting is damaging both black and white residents of Ferguson. When people are in a highly emotional mob situation, they’re not thinking about the real and practical consequences to themselves and their community. They needed a strong, reasonable from the black community -like… say, that of the president”s. When the rioting started, they didn’t even have enough facts to know if there was a reason to riot. What they had and have is an excuse to riot. And, rather than the so-called leaders of this nation opting to really try to end the rioting before blacks and whites could be injured or killed, more property could bedestroyed, more hatred sown, they uttered veiled ( or not so veiled) accusations.

They are not concerned with the damaged being done. Obama and holder could have used their influence to stop this craziness. But they didn’t. They double talked, and implied that the rioters were justified.

They rallied the base. They, once again, as has been done by some AA leaders in the past, exploited their own people, and placed them at risk.

Tragically, the entire democrat strategy is about keeping blacks on the welfare state plantation.

Bona fide black leaders who try to show them a more hopeful path to the future are dismissed as uncle Tom’s by the black civil rights establishment and the democratic national committee.

Rallying the base is a primitive strategy which lures them with bright shiny objects, and frightens them with things that go bump in the night.

There is a genocidal strategy in play here, but not what we are led to believe. It is not jewish doctors infecting black mothers with the AIDs virus, nor is it Republicans looking to reinstitute Jim Crow–which was by the way a Democrat construct. The strategy is engineered by the NAACP and big media to make people believe that the situation is hopeless, which leads to the problem of drugs, delusion and the imperial culture of the slums.

  7. Today, there is no appetite for Great Society Programs, so when race baiting Holder promises change, it is an empty promise.

  8. One key point is all this is that as much as partisans on both sides are keen to characterize these behaviors as a black problem, the fact is that whites who find themselves in the same economic circumstances manifest the same sorts of conspiratorial theories, and violent behaviors. The white underclass in Liverpool is an example. The answer is to change the agenda, and to recognize the dehumanizing qualities of the welfare state, which as both Rodriguez and now Hurt have accurately observed produces an end game where rioters meet tanks and no one wins.

  9. Not a credible witness especially if reports he helped Brown attack the cop are true:

Star Witness In Michael Brown Shooting Charged With Theft, Filing False Police Report

Dorian Johnson, the primary witness to the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, has an outstanding warrant for a 2011 theft in Jefferson City and pleaded guilty for filing a false police report related to that theft.

St. Louis ABC affiliate ABC 17 cross referenced Johnson’s name against several records and discovered the warrant.

Johnson will be the star witness for any potential prosecution proceedings against Officer Darren Wilson for the shooting of Brown. Johnson was walking with Brown when the shooting occurred.

He has already done multiple media appearances where he falsely claimed Brown was shot by Wilson in the back. He also has claimed that Brown never reached for Wilson’s gun, was “shot like an animal” and that Brown had his hands up and told Wilson he was unarmed.

Johnson’s claims helped inspire the protests and riots in Ferguson over the past 10 days, as well as the “Hands up, don’t shoot” rallying cry of the protesters and their supporters. [snip]

According to the Post-Dispatch, the president of the local chapter of the NAACP knew about the charges against Johnson, but the fact that he was guilty of lying to the police didn’t matter:

  10. he is a disgrace…he has no respect for anyone…not even the parents of Foley who are grieving with the rest of the world…and what the freak does he do…

go golfing…and like I said…with that big disgusting grin…he couldn’t even show them a few hours of respect…

this man is making a mockery out of the Presidency and our country…he is asking for something terrible to happen…

I truly fear for us with this man in charge…no maturity, no seriousness, no empathy for others…unbelievable…take a look a the daily mail’s article

  11. To ISIS:

    Hosier Daddy?

    NBC/CNN: can’t be. He’s the Messiah.

ISIS: I swear on the Koran he’s our daddy.

Court: a paternity test is hereby warranted.

Obama from Martha’s Vineyard: I can do anything I want. Fore!!!

Obama’s prisoner swap of one traitor for five mass murderers has been ruled illegal.

Obama: don’t care. I am president. I can do anything I want.

Roberts: that’s right he can. I find that it is a tax.

This does not mean every prisoner swap is, ipso facto, bad.

Here is a prisoner swap I would gladly accept:

The United States gets the one remaining reporter back alive.

ISIS gets the executive boards of NBC and CNN heads to lop off.

I would give them the enemy within, who hide behind the First Amendment what they deserve.

    Unfortunately, it will not happen.

And more is the pity for that.

  12. no maturity, no seriousness, no empathy for others…unbelievable…take a look a the daily mail’s article

[another day. another law broken. wtf]
snip Congressional investigators say the Pentagon violated the law when it swapped five Taliban leaders for Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who was held prisoner in Afghanistan for five years.

When I heard the news that O had tried to rescue Foley, my first thought was, “… and THEN what?” Did they keep trying to find him? What’s the rest of the story?

More questions – wait, O just found out in the news that ISIS was bad when they captured half of Iraq – I know he didn’t “hear” two years of advisors warning him of ISIS – but even after having tried to save an ISIS “prisoner”, he still had to find out later on the news that ISIS was bad? He’s such a liar.

And it sounds like this attempted rescue was around the time of Bergdahl, maybe a few months apart. Why did we give “ransom” with Bergdahl (freeing 5 terrorists) but not with ISIS? Of course, America doesn’t negotiate with terrorists – until Bergdahl anyway. So, we didn’t give ISIS the 10 million dollars they wanted – so why didn’t they give them some Guatanamo terrorists, as with Bergdahl?

Not that I think they should have freed more terrorists, but why isn’t O called out on his lack of consistency? Although, I suppose it falls under his lack of having any foreign policy schema.

  14. S, that article from Daily Mail did not sugar-coat its criticism of O. Of the major television networks only FOX and ABC had criticized barack at the time of this article’s publication. Way to go CNN and NBC. Just when it seemed as if public trust of media could sink no lower ….

Netanyahu had some scathing comments about Obama’s lack of sincerity in his remarks on the damnable actions of ISIS. Video at link.

“Forgive me if I don’t give President Obama a  lot of credit for the angry tone of his voice in his Tee Time statement yesterday, because I’ve seen him much angrier at Republicans who wouldn’t give him a clean debt limit increase.  The passive content of his words, which amount to stunned disbelief that anything as powerful and hideous as ISIS could exist in the 21st century, belied that tone, as did the President’s subsequent behavior.”

No doubt Obama’s progressive posse are tweeting their asses off lambasting Netanyahu for criticizing their guy. I haven’t checked to see their reaction, but given their antipathy about Israel, to have the leader of that country criticizing barack it seems inevitable. After Obama and Kerry repeatedly and harshly slammed Israel, it would be ludicrous for the crazy left to have a problem with Netanyahu’s remarks. But they don’t need logic or reason when protecting Obama. They only need Obama. He’s everything. He’s the Alpha and Omega to them.

  15. This article makes a reasoned argument about the futility of a progressive challenger, should Hillary run for the Dem nominee in 2016.

Hillary Clinton does not need to worry about a progressive, Democratic challenger

Let’s Kiki08/21/2014 By Staphanie Editorial at WHR

Many people in the media like to point out that Hillary Clinton could face an unknown, more progressive challenger, who could cause her to lose the Democratic nomination – just like Hillary lost to Barack Obama in 2008.

The comparison between 2008 and the current political landscape is not grounded in reality.

To begin with, as noted by Nate Silver at FiveThirtyEight, Hillary Clinton has picked up 60 endorsements from Democrats in Congress, which is unprecedented especially given that she has not formally announced her candidacy. Moreover, Nate Silver further notes that Hillary Clinton has the endorsement of every female Democratic Senator, whose views range from progressive to conservative. Hillary Clinton has widespread support from both ends of the Democratic political spectrum.

Second, according to Andrew Prokop at Vox Hillary Clinton has nearly doubled her lead in the polls from where she was before the 2008 nomination process to her standing today (36% to 65% support). Andrew Prokop also highlights the fact that only 11% of Democratic voters want a more liberal candidate to run for office.

Finally, it is important to point out that not only was Hillary Clinton in a weaker position in 2008 than she is now, but she faced a unique challenger in Barack Obama. Barack Obama not only won the hearts of the more progressive elements of the Democratic Party, but he was also African American. Barack was able to successfully challenge Hillary Clinton because he drew from multiple constituencies of the Democratic Party.

The names being mentioned to challenge Hillary Clinton to date – Brian Schweitzer, Martin O’Malley, and Elizabeth Warren – only appeal to a limited set of voters. To beat Hillary Clinton in 2016, a Democratic challenger is going to have to tap into multiple constituencies, like Barack Obama was able to do.

While progressives would like to see Elizabeth Warren run in 2016, her 1/32 Cherokee background won’t provide the same inroads that Barack Obama was able to marshal to victory.

Comparisons between now and 2008 only show that Hillary Clinton will be a much more formidable candidate if she chooses to run.

  16. Freespirit, here’s somewhat of a response to the WHR article from Obama liberal toady Peter Beinart:

Clintonphobia: Why No Democrat Wants to Run Against Hillary
Strong frontrunners have drawn challengers before. But given the Clintons’ reputation for retaliating for betrayals, it’s just not worth it in 2016.

One reason even formidable frontrunners have faced significant opposition is that their challengers have felt that even by losing, they might win. For decades, underdogs have entered contests they knew they’d likely lose because they figured that in so doing, they could gain public recognition and organizational support that would help them in a future bid. Think of how Gary Hart’s challenge to Mondale in 1984 made him the Democratic frontrunner in 1988 (until an adultery scandal brought him down). Or how Bob Dole’s challenge in 1988 set up his campaign in 1996. Or how John Edwards’s run in 2004 made him a stronger contender in 2008.

There are plenty of ambitious but little-known Democratic governors or senators who are a decade or two younger than Clinton. So why aren’t more of them considering a presidential campaign that might set them up to be Clinton’s successor? The answer speaks to one of Clinton’s underappreciated assets: her ability to instill fear.

The winning-by-losing strategy works best when it gains you some influence over the person who defeats you for the nomination. Sometimes that means earning a place alongside them on the presidential ticket, as Edwards did in 2004. Sometimes it simply means convincing their supporters that you have a bright future and may be worth supporting down the line. The strategy works less well if the person who defeats you becomes your sworn enemy, committed to doing you political harm. It’s the fear that the Clintons may do exactly that that is limiting the pool of willing challengers.

And for good reason. Throughout their careers, Bill and Hillary Clinton have shown a willingness to remember, and punish, political betrayals. In 1980, then-President Jimmy Carter sent some of the Cuban refugees who had arrived in the United States as part of the Mariel boatlift to Arkansas. Held in prison-like conditions, the detainees rioted and some escaped, which ensured Clinton’s reelection defeat as Arkansas governor. As Carl Bernstein details in A Woman in Charge, the Clintons retaliated more than a decade later by refusing to give anyone in Carter’s inner circle a job in the Clinton White House. In their book HRC, Jonathan Allen and Aimee Parnes note that in 2012, Bill Clinton repeatedly intervened in Democratic primaries to help candidates who had backed Hillary against rivals who had backed Barack Obama—thus reminding Democrats that opposing Hillary carries a price.

According to Bob Boorstin, who ran communications for Hillary’s health-care task force, when Hillary is slighted, “she gets angry, and she remembers it forever.” When people prove loyal, by contrast, they reap rewards. As Allen and Parnes put it, “Loyalty, for better and worse, has been the defining trait of Hillary and her tightly woven inner circle, from her days as first lady through the Senate and State.”

Not all politicians are as prone to punish their adversaries and reward their friends. Obama, for instance, undercut the foreign-policy advisers who had signed onto his presidential campaign when he made Hillary Clinton secretary of state and let her stack Foggy Bottom with her allies. And Obama has been loath to punish members of his own party in Congress who oppose his agenda. Referring to Democrats who last year opposed Obama’s push for gun control, former Senator Byron Dorgan told The New York Times, “There have been very few consequences for those that defeat the legislation, and that’s what allows the legislation to be defeated.”

Both Obama’s and Clinton’s styles have their benefits and drawbacks. During her health-care task force, and 2008 presidential campaign, Hillary’s emphasis on loyalty probably inhibited aides from telling her early and bluntly enough that things were veering badly off course. But so far in 2016, that same reputation may be helping her scare off potential challengers. In explaining why O’Malley may not run, the Post noted, “He’s got lots of time to build a career without making enemies of the first family of Democratic politics.” Luckily for Hillary, a lot of other potential Democratic presidential candidates seem to be thinking the same thing.

  17. Oh the humanity, Admin! How could we have supported such a wretched woman since 2008. Like Dowd, if Breiart had any insight, he would know to be embarrassed about this drivel.

Hillary ” instills fear” in her political opponents. How dare she? She’s so mean and scary that the numerous bright young stars in the Dem Party ( an optimistic bastard, ain’t he?) won’t run against her. The reason is a real hoot – if one of them defeated Hillary she would destroy him politically?! Just like she did Barack when she asked her supporters to support him ( of course we didn’t), and then agreed to become SOS to the SOB. What a meanie.

The Clintons exact revenge on people who betray them or who just piss them off. It took them 10 years to nail Jimmy Carter for sending Cuban refugees to Arkansas. 10 years that anger festered. Then finally, one cold and stormy day in 1992, the Clintons unleashed the full force of their terrible vengeance. . They refused to hire anyone who had been in Carter’s inner circle. I’ll never forget where I was when I heard it.

Hillary demands loyalty. She wants only those who have proven their loyalty as staff members. What a unique idea! She’s not open like Barack, who gave her a job as SOS, even tho she had the nerve to defeat him in the 2008 primary, only to have the nomination stolen from her. He even let her select her staff, even tho some of them didn’t really care for Barack. He did have a couple of his people spying on her and taking over some of her duties, but unlike Hillary, Barack knows it’s the thought that counts.

This article is the best laugh I’ve had all week! I’m not one to make fun of the handicapped or impaired, but you just have to wonder if this guy hasn’t lost a marble or two.

  18. Funny-strange, but these three lynch-mob stories come out just while I’m watching Youtube videos of the media lynching of JonBenet Ramsey’s parents as JonBenet’s murderers.

The Boulder police had a pet theory that the mother had killed JonBenet and staged a kidnapping, and they refused to consider evidence to the contrary that was found by an outside investigator and private detectives.

The media staged a mock trial of the parents and pronounced them “liable,” which meant “guilty.” The public reaction was so intense that the Ramseys had to sell out and leave Boulder and the father now works in Michigan.

When another man was arrested in Thailand several years later and confessed to being the murderer, the media lynched him the same way as it had the parents.

But then the man’s DNA didn’t match that found at the crime scene, so he was released and gained nationwide media attention with other fake confessions while the media lynched the new Boulder police chief who had re-opened the case, and lynched the parents again to boot.

It’s now 18 years since 6-year-old JonBenet was killed and the case still has not been solved. Most people say it can’t be solved because a lot of evidence was overlooked at the crime scene. All that remains, really, is the DNA evidence.

All of these lynchings are prompted by botched police investigations and fueled by media “journalists” overcome by their own sense of “justice,” and run amok among a public as untrained in due process as the TV journalists, and sometimes the police.

… a reasoned argument about the futility of a progressive challenger
    admin August 22, 2014 at 1:00 am

The article presents a compelling case for the lethal nature of betraying the Clintons. It may hold for Warren.

But for Sanders or that former governor of Montana (forgot his name), I don’t think they care a fig. They could just do it for the hell of it.

For O’Malley, I still think he might try, with an eye to getting the VP nod if he works it right. He’s already met with the Clinton inner circle and I have no doubt presidential politics were on the agenda.

Besides, the article doesn’t explain how HRC reacts to former adversaries if she wins in the end. Remember: Biden was an opponent in 2008 and after he dropped out he didn’t endorse anyone. HRC and lunch bucket Joe have always been good friends and remained so. The same could happen to O’Malley if he puts up a good fight and then endorses HRC. He would be well-positioned for the VP nod; and at his age, he can wait a long time before running for the presidency and, in the meantime, associate himself with a good president.

So, while I think Warren will be scared off as the article contends, I think there is a good chance there will be some flailing opposition by the weirdos I mentioned, plus a possible serious run by O’Malley. Jus’ sayin’

  20. jeswezey, the article I posted with the “reasoned argument” does not imply lethality to candidates who might choose to run against Hillary, if she runs in 2016. The point made was that a progressive candidate would appeal only to that one constituency, whereas Hillary’s appeal is broader. Barack appealed to a wider range of Dem voters in 2008. That, of course, was because they were duped and MSM campaigned for him – my thoughts, not the author’s. Also, the author opines, there was much interest in electing an African American president ( apparently, in spite of the fact all white Americans are flaming racists – at least according to current reporting).

Maybe you inferred from the article that perspectives primary candidates would be too frightened of Hillary and Bill – who apparently, in the minds of progressives are running some kind of political Dixie Mafia – but I didn’t read it that way.

Thankfully, there is some humor to be found in these bleak times. According to CNN Political Ticker, Screamin’ Dean hopes Hillary will be elected president. What was it that Dean said about the candidate he wanted to see nominated in 2008? I think it was something like – “Anybody but Hillary”. Maybe that quote is not completely accurate, but that was the gist of his opinion. What a difference 6 years can make – especially when you’re the one who launched the un-president Barack into the WH. Sadly, and unbeknownst to Dean and the rest of the Obama supporting Dim big wigs, Barack thought he was being asked to star in a reality show about being president . He didn’t know he would really have to work . He thought it would be kind of like “The Osbornes’ – a fun gig where the star got lots of attention from the public.

  21. Rutland is a landlocked country in England where witchcraft is still practiced and escapees from Bedlam go to serve out their natural lives, after which they are buried and summoned back to earth every two hundred years for a convivial get together. Only in such a place steeped with vampires, demons and witches of both genders, in the dead of night could an argument against Hillary’s position be connived from a cauldron over an incantation of double double toil and trouble, America burn and Obama bubble. Come on. What is the point in advocating Obama’s side of the argument, which is an invocation to do nothing but play golf and promote racial strife in the United States. Rutland lives up to its name.

  22. Screamin’ Dean hopes Hillary will be elected president
He thinks this will rehabilitate his fat grungy ass. Some fucking doctor he must have been. At best a witch doctor. More like a mortician. The sight of that fat mouthy fucker turns my stomach.

  23. Almost as much as his fellow behemouth Candy Crowley. Candy? More like man mountain dean the 600 pound wrestler.

  24. This was not a hypothetical. The evidence of policy failure is as replete and as it is ubiquitous. In such circumstances, is it wrong to suggest that there were other options which might well have succeeded, but were rejected. Doesn’t the testimony of Foley’s friend that there were moderate Syrians we could have supported corroborate and confirm Hillary’s alternative policy. Seems to me she is on the side of the angels on this one, save in Rutland where Satan calls the shots, just as he does today in Washington DC/

  25. former governor of Montana
Schweitzer is a goner. His mouth overloaded his ass once too often.

  26. Strong frontrunners have drawn challengers before. But given the Clintons’ reputation for retaliating for betrayals, it’s just not worth it in 2016.
A convenient excuse, to cover the fact that at this point, they have no other horse in the stable. And, given the deteriorating state of the nation, and the cycles of history, 2016 will be a tough year for the Democratic nominee. Fundraising is the other issue, and I doubt that Obama’s shills could match what Hillary could raise this time. I think Wall Street is going her way. The only question is main street. And the answer to that question depends on whether she does a credible job of breaking with Obama. Credible. Not half hearted.

  27. Rand Paul on His Ferguson Police Op-Ed: ‘It’s Not a Purposeful Racism’
    President Rand Paul?

    He cannot be serious.

  28. Hillary, before she backed off, said we need a coherent foreign policy and don’t do stupid things is not a foreign policy.

Well, here is a classic example which evinces not only a lack of strategic coherence, but the mother of all stupid things, courtesy of big media beloved Obama:

The ISIS/ISIL nuts are not above trading a hostage for American dollars to later use against us. They made a ransom demand to the United States. CNN’s Crossfire tweeted out the response from the spokesman for President Obama’s National Security Council.

“[The U.S.] does not grant concessions to hostage takers…. Doing so would only put more Americans at risk of being taken captive,” said the spokesman.

So then why did we trade several terrorists from GTMO for Bowe Bergdahl? Speaking of Bergdahl, “the nonpartisan Government Accountability Office says the Defense Department’s failure to notify the relevant congressional committees at least 30 days in advance of the exchange broke the law.”

Not only was Obama willing to

I was just thinking…sometimes people in positions of authority and leadership are described as “hands on”

…the O Presidency is the epitome of ‘hands off’…MIA…

just a matter of time until something really awful happens and the response we get is:

    “no one had any idea”

“we had no way of knowing” “the intelligence…so vaulted that it knows your every breath…missed it”

and…famous last words “we are just finding out about it reading it the paper from the media like you are”

and add the new one…”I was golfing, I had no idea”

I think, I truly fear, that ISIS is just walking in on our southern borders and preparing for something gruesome and bad for us…why wouldn’t they…our leadership is making it so easy and inviting…they can sneak in guns and weapons they would not be able to with their american or british passports…

    sitting ducks…

  30. From the right, National Review does not think there is sufficient evidence against the police officer:

If This Is It, Wilson Has the Advantage
If we don’t get any more information in Ferguson, conflicting testimony has to favor Wilson.

Unless a piece of damning evidence is discovered in the next few weeks, this case is almost certainly going to come down to a conflict of testimonies, the salient query being whether Officer Wilson could reasonably have believed that he was still engaged in a potentially mortal fight when he pulled the trigger. [snip]

What form this “stepped out of the car and shot Brown” part took is key. If Wilson’s shots were fired while conflict was ongoing, then his use of force was almost certainly legal. Some of the unconfirmed testimony that we have heard from Wilson’s side suggests that Brown was charging toward Wilson when he was killed. If so, this would have served as an indication that the fight was still on, and it would have required Wilson to make a split-second decision. In such an instance, one can reasonably ask whether anyone who had almost lost their gun during the first round could be expected to remain calm and collected during the second. I am not so sure.

If, however, we believe the testimony of the other eyewitnesses, then, by the time he was shot, Brown had managed to “regain his innocence,” making it clear to Wilson that the fight was over and rendering Wilson’s use of force unjustified. Dorian Johnson, who was with Brown when he died, claims that the pair began to run away after the initial altercation: [snip]

If this description is accurate, Wilson is likely guilty of murder. Under Tennessee v. Garner, officers may kill a fleeing suspect only if the officer has sufficient reason to believe that he is deemed a danger to others. Neither Johnson’s nor Cranshaw’s account suggests that Michael Brown charged at the officer, or that he had gone for Wilson’s gun — or, for that matter, that he had done anything more than struggle with Wilson. From their version of events, it is difficult to detect what could have led Wilson to conclude that Brown represented such a threat that he needed to be killed. In fact, the contrary is true. Both Cranshaw and Johnson have Brown not merely moving away from the fight but raising his hands and verbally signaling that he was no longer a threat. If this were the case, “execution” would not be too strong a word. [snip]

Both situations, I think, are feasible, and I cannot possibly guess which one is authentic. Nevertheless, absent any hidden video footage or high-resolution photography, the advantage is firmly with Officer Wilson — not because he is with the police but because he has a story that sounds credible and because all that he needs to do to remain a free man is to present a story that sounds credible. In the abstract, this seems all wrong — indicative of our institutions’ failure to blunt the world’s more vexatious edges. Perhaps it is. But can anyone think of a better arrangement?

  31. From the left, The Race-baiting New Republic says much the same:

Convicting Darren Wilson Will Be Basically Impossible
You can thank Missouri law for that

In any clash of witness testimony, police officers begin at huge advantage. [snip]

Instead, as long as there is a modicum of evidence and reasonable plausibility in support of a self-defense claim, a court must accept the claim and acquit the accused. The prosecution must not only prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant committed the crime, but also disprove a defendant’s claim of self-defense to the same high standard. Under Missouri law, all a citizen claiming self-defense or a police officer claiming to have fired while pursuing a dangerous criminal need do is “inject the issue of justification.” In other words, he only needs to produce some evidence (his own testimony counts) supporting the claim. Once he does so, “any reasonable doubt on the issue requires a finding for the defendant.” [snip]

As long as there is still the slightest possibility that Wilson acted in his own defense, Missouri law favors Wilson.

  32. Gowdy hires retired Army 3-star for Benghazi probe
    Aug. 21, 2014 – 07:48PM
WASHINGTON — The former top lawyer for the Army will be chief counsel for Republicans on the House committee investigating the 2012 terrorist attacks in Benghazi, Libya.
Retired Lt. Gen. Dana Chipman was judge advocate general for the Army from 2009-2013.
The special committee, led by Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-Spartanburg, is preparing for its first public hearing in September.
Chipman “is a person of great character and integrity, with outstanding legal credentials, who dedicated his professional life to the apolitical service to our country and reached the highest levels of his profession,” Gowdy said Thursday through a spokeswoman. snip

  33. Meet The RADICAL DOJ Unit (Assigned By Black Radical Eric Holder) To Investigate the Ferguson Shooting

By Christian Adams, former DOJ prosecutor

PJ Media has been covering the Criminal Section of the Civil Rights Division for years. This is the unit that will be investigating the shooting in Ferguson and deciding whether to charge the police officer with civil rights crimes.

PJ Media had to sue Eric Holder to obtain the resumes of the lawyers he hired to populate this unit. No wonder. The “Every Single One” series at PJ Media revealed that all of Holder’s attorney hires were leftists, some even with a history of anti-police activities. Read the detailed biographies of the lawyers here.

Why does it matter that the DOJ unit that will investigate the Ferguson police is stacked with leftists and ideologues? Because anti-police biases of lawyers in this unit have resulted in gross prosecutorial misconduct against police officers.

United States District Judge Kurt Engelhardt issued this blistering 129-page opinion documenting prosecutorial misconduct by DOJ lawyers seeking to convict New Orleans police officers of civil rights violations. These lawyers are still employed by the Criminal Section at the Civil Rights Division. Hans von Spakovsky has this summary of the rage directed at the DOJ from the bench.

Trying to figure out what the prosecutors had done sent the court “on a legal odyssey unlike any other.” But that legal odyssey led the judge on September 17 to grant a new trial to the New Orleans police officers.

It is the first time, according to Judge Engelhardt, that federal “prosecutors acting with anonymity used social media to circumvent ethical obligations, professional responsibilities, and even to commit violations of the Code of Federal Regulations.” The 129-page order, which details the misbehavior of the Louisiana DOJ lawyers and the Civil Rights Division’s Dobinski, is appalling reading. And it isn’t just that Dobinski was a high-level Justice Department lawyer who was posting anonymous blogs about the trial.

She also encouraged other anonymous bloggers, who “repeatedly posted vigorous pro-prosecution statements strongly condemning the defendants, their witnesses, and their entire defense.” To make matters worse, Dobinski was the supervising “taint” attorney assigned to the New Orleans case.

PJ Media covered Dobinski’s misconduct here, here and here. As Holder moves forward in Ferguson, keep the documented misconduct of his lawyers in mind.

BREAKING: Mike Brown Autopsy “Expert” Is NOT A DOCTOR – Has Degree in NON-EXISTENT MEDICAL FIELD (Video)

The self-proclaimed expert who held a national press conference on the Mike Brown shooting is NOT A DOCTOR.

He holds a degree in a NON-EXISTENT MEDICAL FIELD.

Parcells introduced the “magic bullet” theory at the press conference this week.

Now we know Shawn Parcells is NOT A DOCTOR and has a degree in a NON-EXISTENT MEDICAL FIELD.

    Oh, good grief!
The self-proclaimed expert who held a national press conference on the Mike Brown shooting is NOT A DOCTOR.

He holds a degree in a NON-EXISTENT MEDICAL FIELD.

Dr. Parcells introduced the “magic bullet” theory at the press conference this week.

Now we know Shawn Parcells is NOT A DOCTOR and has a degree in a NON-EXISTENT MEDICAL FIELD.

    FOX 4 DC reported:

A Kansas City man is now front and center in the controversial shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo. Shawn Parcells owns a company that provides autopsy services, and some in the forensic community are taking issue with his involvement in this or any other case.

Parcells owns National Forensic Autopsy and Recovery Services. He says lawyers for the family of Michael Brown contacted him because of his expertise in gunshot wounds.

“I am a forensic pathologist assistant and medical investigator,” Parcells told FOX 4’s Shannon O’Brien.

However, that’s something of a dubious title according to forensic pathologist Dr. Erik Mitchell.

That is a degree that does not exist in my knowledge, except in the mind of Shawn Parcells,” Dr. Mitchell said.

Dr. Mitchell takes issue with Parcells’ title.

You cannot claim the title, because it is a formal, licensable position. You can assist somebody; in this way I can say, for instance, I have paid my taxes, so I am an assistant President of the United States,” Dr. Mitchell said.

Prosecutors have not spoken to Darren Wilson yet

A spokesman for St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McCulloch said he would not comment on reports that Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson suffered a fractured eye bone during Wilson’s confrontation with Michael Brown that ended with the officer shooting and killing the unarmed teen.

“We do not comment on any evidence in the case, and that would include the officer’s injuries,” said Ed Magee.

Magee said that prosecutors have not received any medical records relating to Wilson so far. But he said that since Wilson was taken to the hospital, they assume there are medical records and they just haven’t received them yet.

A family friend of Wilson’s told The Washington Post that Wilson suffered a fractured eye socket. Ferguson police have said that Wilson’s face was injured and he needed medical treatment, but they did not go into any detail. On Wednesday night, Ferguson Mayor James Knowles III told Fox News that he could not confirm reports that Wilson suffered a fractured eye bone.

Prosecutors have not been in direct contact with Wilson yet, Magee said. McCulloch has been in touch with Wilson’s attorney but has not spoken to Wilson himself.

Wilson will be given an opportunity to appear before the grand jury, but he cannot be compelled to appear, Magee said.

Prosecutors began presenting evidence to the St. Louis County grand jury on Wednesday. McCulloch said Wednesday that it could be mid-October before all of the evidence is presented, noting that not all of it is ready yet.

Since Brown was killed, authorities have provided relatively few details about the encounter between the teenager and Wilson. Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson said last week that Wilson had a “swollen face” after the altercation and was taken to a hospital for treatment, but he did not provide any other information beyond saying the injuries were not life-threatening.

A day after Brown was shot, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Bellmar told reporters that Brown “allegedly pushed” Wilson back into the car and physically assaulted him. Bellmar did not elaborate.

The man whose singular qualification was as a uniter turns out to be singularly unequipped to operate in a polarized environment.

That’s because people assumed being a “uniter” meant he had a skill he would use, when really all it meant was that he thought his brown face in the White House would heal everything here and internationally – no work, just magic.

  41. Shadowfax:

This guy didn’t need a medical degree nor autopsy experience

I read an article that said that the fake guy did the autopsy two days before Baden flew into town – there’s a question as to whether Baden examined the body at all, or if he just looked over what the fake guy wrote. Apparently whenever Baden discusses the autopsy, he says things like, “the autopsy tells us…”, etc, never saying any “I” statements, “when I performed the autopsy”, or “I found”, etc.

This is Crump’s work. He should be prosecuted for his fraud and slimy-ness. He probably doesn’t care about this being discovered – after all, he doesn’t care about the end-result, he just needs an arrest so that he is legally allowed to file a civil suit.

It’s worth a read, I think, because, as short as it is, it’s correctly reasoned and necessarily allows for other interpretations. The comments to the article are also good, not sarcastic or marred by Clinton hatred.

  44. Shawn Parcells is NOT A DOCTOR and has a degree in a NON-EXISTENT MEDICAL FIELD.
I see no problem with that.

Are we to deprive him of his First Amendment rights, just because he is a charlatan.

Are we to reject his testimony simply because he is full of shit.

    No! Scream the protestors.

He is saying what we want to hear so he must be telling the truth.

The standard to be applied in high profile race baiting cases such as this is the Shar pei rule:

Sharpton pretends to be a reverend.

Sharpton is a race hustler who travels across the nation to spread lies and to incite racial riots.

Does NBC reject him just because he is a liar, a race baiter and an inciter of riots?

On the contrary, they give him his own prime time show to inflame the ignoranti.

It is a profound mystery to me why you continue to look for ways to explain away the plain meaning of what she said to Goldberg. Surely, you realize that Obama is failing, and his policies are imposing great hardship on this country and the world. It is a losing strategy for her to support him on substantive policies, and the administrator of this blog has consistently maintained that she must make a clean break, not equivocate. Forget about this Atlantic rag–they are strictly pro Obama, and have an interest in diminishing her remarks for that reason. If you want to know what she needs to do, read the latest article by Cost, which delineates how they will attack her, namely by tying her to Obama, and making her out to be someone who jibs, tacks and equivocates, rather than leading. I seem to recall that during our discussions re. Obamacare, as the adverse impact of that perverse law became obvious to all, you continued to defend that legislation, because you like what you see in France, which is entirely different. So tell me what I am missing. Oh, sure, she must not separate herself from Obama, because that would alienate blacks and leftists who control the party. If that is it, then the question you need to consider is whether many of those Obama lovers will vote for her anyway. And as for blacks, I think they would sooner vote for her than for the Republican alternative. I think it is a scare tactic by the left to keep her in line, and from doing what needs to be done in order to win the general election.

8/22/14. snip [Luke Bartholomew, manager at Aberdeen Asset Management Investment] said there was “some hint” [Fed chief Yellen] was still concerned about the labour market. “Which is good because one of the biggest questions about the US economy is just how many of the long term unemployed will ever return to the labour market.”The fear is that no one, least of all Janet Yellen, knows the answer,” he added.

  47. Yet another dimension of the sheer incompetence of this administration is the defense department. Hagel is, by universal acclaim, a witless fool. He can be forgiven for that, I suppose, since he is a politician who supports Obama, and as such, a witless fool. But the other half of the Cheech and Chong twosome cannot be forgiven, and that is this general Dempsey idiot. And an idiot he is. What kind of idiot? The kind that authorized the non response to our attack on Benghazi, put out this tripe that we did not know what we did not know, and supported the video narrative. We all know the perils of succumbing to the ambition of the man on the white horse, and no movie ever depicted that risk more clearly than Seven Days In May. What many of us do not realize is the risks which arise when we have military men like General Dempsey who succumb to the temptations of power to the point that they fail the military and they fail the nation. Big media has a terminal case of this disease. In the military however, the margin of error is less, and the need for clear leadership is ever more acute. Colonel Bing West, USMC was caustic in his criticism of the military leadership that succumbed and it is clear to me that the man he was referring to was none other than Obama’s favorite chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, general Dempsey, USA/

  48. In re. Obama:

The bet was give race obsessed blacks a symbol, give the young and gullible a false symbol of hope, give the wealthy something for their pockets, and they will give you the country. And of all the things Obama and his big media enablers have done to destroy this nation, by far the most serious their rejection of our role as the indispensable nation, and the loss of faith that goes with it. This loss of self confidence is prelude to a thousand misfortunes.

In his new book, The Strongest Tribe, the estimable Bing West shows us how warfare has evolved, and how Bush and his generals never understood the chaos they would unleash by taking down Saddam, and by 2004 we were on the cusp of defeat, and how, using marine corps strategies and the power of sergeants and lieutenants as opposed to generals we turned the war around by 2006, but are now on the verge of losing it because of the Quisling in the White House. But even without Obama, you have got to wonder about a nation which is so foolish as to elect someone like him. He is not the path to greatness. He is the path to national decline. Nothing could be more obvious.

  49. If you watched the above video, then you saw the graph depicting success in the war and public opinion.

From 2004 to 2006 we were losing the war, and public opinion reflected as much.

After 2006 we began winning the war, but public opinion remained negative.

The REASON public opinion did not change when we began winning was because the press stopped covering it.

They wanted to report only bad news–not good news when a Republican is in the White House.

And as we see now they ignore bad news–and manufacture good news when Obama is in the White House.

In other words, they willfully and knowingly mislead the nation for partisan reason.

In so doing, they undermine the premise of democracy and abuse the privileges granted to them under the First Amendment.

That is what big media is all about.

    Nothing more.

    Nothing less.

  50. Admin: it is interesting is it not.

Caesar was told to beware of the ides of March–or something to that effect.

Caesars are of course mortal, even though some of them, like Caligula believed otherwise, such that it had to be proven to him through the tip of a dagger from one of his loyal Praetorian Guards how wrong he was.

Messiahs are immortal. If from time to time they appear to be . . . how shall I put it, distracted, who are we as mere mortals to question their lack of attentiveness. Infidels sneer that it is golf, but there could be more to it.

The universe is a vast expanse, and much of it is filled with the great empty, as our friends the Buddhists inform us. Ergo, it is quite possible that our big media beloved messiah has bigger fish to fry in the realms beyond Pluto.

Others would argue that it is not the great empty in outer space, but the great empty between Barack Obama’s moon shaped ears that is the problem. That is, until we hear the lilting lyrics of St. David Igantius Associate Editor of the Washington Post informing us that all is well in bedlam, for under Obama we have peace and prosperity.

The sheer hypocrisy of big media is now in evidence. During the 2008 campaign they waged a war of disinformation for him, and they buried the fact that he voted present 31 times while a state senator on controversial issues which he did not want to be blamed for. How then can they complain when he does the exact same thing as president, and avoids making the decisions which are necessary to the defense of this nation. Only now, has the NYT deigned to criticize his lack of commitment to protecting the security of this nation.

As I have said repeatedly, the greatest problem facing this nation is big media. Instead of doing their job, they have sought to destroy this nation. If he did not exist, they would have to invent him. In fact, they have.

For this president, every day is a vacation. And has been for some time. He is like Cosmo Kramer of Seinfeld. “His whole life is a fantasy camp,” George Costanza says of his friend. “People should plunk down $2,000 to live like him for a week.” Imagine what they would pay to live like Obama.

Uncomfortable with all of the golf on Martha’s Vineyard? It is but a fraction of Obama’s habit. Since 2009, the president has played more than 185 rounds, typically with Wall Street cronies such as Robert Wolf and sports celebrities such as Alonzo Mourning, Tony Kornheiser, and Michael Wilbon. So devoted to golf is Obama that he wears Game Golf, which tracks how well a golfer shoots. Game Golf is not something you wear as a lark. You use it to study and hone your game. The hours on the course are just the start; there are also the hours spent analyzing results at home. Obama is not golfing like an amateur. He’s golfing like a man who wants to join the PGA tour.

In the 1990s, we heard about the all-night delivery-pizza brainstorm sessions in the Clinton White House. In the teens, we hear about the soporific, self-congratulatory gourmet dinner parties where Obama is the star.

These long, languid, pretentious meals have become routine. Earlier this week, when Obama returned to Washington for a vacation “break,” he did not take all of his meals at the White House. One night he had dinner at the home of Sam Kass, the chef and health activist who is engaged to MSNBC host Alex Wagner. Dinner lasted five hours. Again: This was during his break from vacation.

Criticizing the president the other day, Joe Scarborough nonetheless conceded, “Presidents are always working, whether on a golf course or behind a desk.” But is that actually so?

What, exactly, does President Obama do? He seems to learn everything from the papers—from the IRS scandal to the VA scandal to the mobilization of the Missouri National Guard. International events routinely take him by surprise.

His professional activities include fundraising—40 events this year so far—and perfunctory addresses to the public. He goes through the presidential motions: meeting with officials and foreign dignitaries, holding press conferences, sitting for interviews, shipping MREs to endangered populations, ordering air strikes. But there is no passion behind these activities, no restless energy, no managerial competence, no sense of purpose or mission or strategy, none of the qualities associated with leadership in business, politics, and culture

What does interest Obama is celebrity: His own, and that of others. He enjoys opportunities to expound on the world, as though he were an essayist for the New Yorker, which he surely will be soon after leaving office. He wants to be recognized in public, during his choreographed stops outside the White House, and during “major speeches” that lead to applause but no discernible change in affairs, and during appearances on talk shows, the more mindless the better. He likes intimate gatherings of rich and famous people, people who enjoy notoriety—though not nearly as much as he—people of means, people of uniform opinion on the state of the world, the economy, and, most importantly, the state of Barack Obama. He is interested in good food, in good company. He likes golf.

And he is interested in television. He watches HBO. Last winter, when the network’s CEO visited the White House for a state dinner, the president asked him for copies of “True Detective,” and of “Game of Thrones.” Obama watches “House of Cards.” He subscribes to the theory that we are living in the rather oxymoronic “golden age of television.” According to CBS, “His go-tos include ‘Breaking Bad,’ ‘Mad Men,’ and ‘Homeland.’” So we know how Obama has spent at least 275 hours of his presidency. Did he punch out before watching Carrie go crazy?

This is the life: international travel, motorcades, sycophants and courtiers, tables at the best restaurants, round after round of golf, parties in a cool house, watching the best television shows, meeting all these renowned figures—and having them kiss up to you—ruminating over your legacy, over the causes of polarization, over the geopolitical situation, understanding other peoples’ motivations better than they do. Kramer has nothing on Obama. Politics, terrorists, Iran, Putin, Congress are all distractions. Best to enjoy the experience to the utmost. You are only president once.

The boundary separating vacation from vocation has disappeared. The party won’t end for years. And the hangover will be severe.

Messiah Obama, however, does this routinely.

And big media buries the cost.

Obama doesn’t like American power or influence.

He won’t respond decisively to crush ISIS.

By failing to do what is necessary he ensures a future attack on America.

  58. From Will Hillary Run, the word is that Elizabeth won’t. Will the DU Kids and the Kooks accept that?

Sorry progressive Democrats, Elizabeth Warren is not running for President in 2016
Let’s Kiki08/23/2014 By Staphanie Editorial at WHR

    Elizabeth Warren

According to John Zogby’s latest polling data, Hillary Clinton is dominating the entire Republican field of candidates.

“She beats former Florida Governor Jeb Bush 49% to 36%; Kentucky Senator Rand Paul 50% to 34%; New Jersey Governor Chris Christie 47% to 35%; former Massachusetts Governor and 2012 GOP standard-bearer Mitt Romney 50% to 35%; former Arkansas Governor and Fox News host Mike Huckabee 49% to 33%; and Florida Senator Marco Rubio 51% to 29%. As we can see, she hovers around the 50% mark against each challenger while none of her putative opponents receives 40%.”
And according to Zogby, Hillary Clinton now has 80% support of liberal voters.

While the media like to mention Senator Elizabeth Warren has a potential progressive challenger to Hillary Clinton, the facts do not support such a narrative.

Elizabeth Warren’s polling numbers suggest she would have a difficult time beating any Republican candidate.

“Ms. Warren runs about even with all of the GOP candidates: 34% to 36% against Bush; 34% to 35% against Paul; 34% to 37% vs. Christie; 36% to 38% against Romney: 35% to 33% vs. Huckabee; and 35% to 31% against Rubio.”
If the polling data are not convincing, then a statement released by Elizabeth Warren’s attorney yesterday should clear up any uncertainty. As reported by Ben Jacobs at The Daily Beast, Elizabeth Warren is absolutely not running for President in 2016.

“On Friday, the first-term Massachusetts senator sent a letter to the Federal Election Commission saying, yet again, she did not want to be a presidential candidate. In the letter, first reported by the Boston Globe, Warren’s lawyer, Marc Elias, disavows any involvement or support for Ready For Warren, an effort to encourage the Massachusetts senator to run for President.

Elias writes, “This letter serves as a formal disavowal of the organization and its activity. The Senator has not, and does not, explicitly or implicitly, authorize, endorse, or otherwise approve of the organization’s activities.” He goes on to emphasize, “To the contrary, Senator Warren has publicly announced that she is not running for president in 2016.” Elias then chastises Ready For Warren for “confusing donors about a non-existent run for president.”
It doesn’t get much clearer than that!

But, despite these facts, it is safe to assume that the media will keep mentioning Elizabeth Warren as a possible candidate. The media love a good story, even if it is based on fiction.

  59. What a joke, basically endorsing riots……

What kind of message does this send.

Obama sends White House aides to Ferguson funeral

President Barack Obama is sending three White House officials to the funeral service of the Missouri teenager whose death in a police shooting in Ferguson, Missouri, has sparked days of racial unrest.

Leading the group for Monday’s service will be the chairman of the My Brother’s Keeper Task Force, Broderick Johnson. My Brother’s Keeper is an Obama initiative that aims to empower young minorities. Johnson is also the secretary for the Cabinet.

Also attending will be the deputy director of the White House Office of Public Engagement, Marlon Marshall, and an adviser for the office, Heather Foster.

The White House says Marshall is a St. Louis native and attended high school with Brown’s mother.

Does every robbing thug get a white house attendance thee days…..criminals get a state send off?

  60. Of course Warren is not running, no way in hell will she beat the GOP, she would lose in a landslide, once they get a good look at fauxcahontas’s background she’ll be ripped apart once people get to know her.

  61. ’bout time.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has apologized for making racially insensitive jokes at an event Thursday sponsored by the Las Vegas Asian Chamber of Commerce, but perhaps too late for group members who later didn’t endorse Reid’s pick for Nevada lieutenant governor. The chamber endorsed Republican Mark Hutchison, not the Nevada Democratic senator’s pick, Lucy Flores, according to The Las Vegas Review Journal. Reid said at the event: “I don’t think you’re smarter than anybody else, but you’ve convinced a lot of us you are.” And he concluded his remarks by saying: “One problem that I’ve had today is keeping my Wongs straight.”
Reid reportedly left the luncheon after his speech and missed the formal endorsement announcements. The chamber said Flores said he would attend but failed to show. “My comments were in extremely poor taste and I apologize,” Reid told Politico on Friday. “Sometimes I say the wrong thing.” Hutchinson also has the backing of Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval. Asians are the fastest-growing minority group in Nevada, which means their endorsement could help Hutchinson in the close race. “I think this is a very important endorsement,” Hutchison told the newspaper.

  62. A 23 year old British rapper has been named in beheading of James Foley. Supposedly he goes by several different names.

  63. Clinton associate Doug Schoen’s book, “Hopelessly Divided” says it all:

Douglas E. Schoen, one of America’s preeminent political pundits, analyzes the growing chasm between the political class—politicians, lobbyists, fundraisers, consultants—and the American Mainstream, frustrated with government’s inability to address the major issues affecting their lives.

This gap has given rise to populist movements on the right and the left and driven our two-party system to the brink of possible collapse—in ways that have never been fully discussed or articulated.

If Buchanan’s predictions prove true, and Obama grants amnesty to 6-12-20 million illegals, without border security and without congressional approval, then it is game over for this country, and it will provoke the collapse which Doug talks about. Like the old song, It’s Later Than You Think.

As for me, I try not to think about it, because it is too depressing clear to me that there is nothing we can do about it. The corroborating proof is that the corporate proponents of open borders, i.e. Zuckerberg, Bloomberg, Chamber of Commerce, all of whom want cheap labor, and are willing to destroy the nation to get it, have lowered their public profile after meeting with Obama, in expectation that he will give them what they want, and have goosed him into doing, without keeping themselves on front street, where they would be targets for bitter reprisals.

It is a case of over exploitation of the American People by these capitalists, predicted in the following hypothetical:

  64. wbb and all here,
I’ve been thinking Obama’s laid back posture indicates he knows his job is done. This fits in horribly well with wbb’s Tragedy of the commons statement. 🙁

  65. admin August 23, 2014 at 12:41 pm

    “Wackadoodle” is right.

Rand Paul is delusional. In the video, he’s playing to the ignorance of the very many people who haven’t, or just won’t, read Hard Choices.

Marco Rubio calling HRC a “20th century candidate” is just as delusional and is also counting on the ignorance of the American public to believe that.

  66. Obama called ISIS “the junior varsity”.

Well, okay, fine, he is the big media beloved messiah who speaks only the truth– according to big media.

And intelligent man, in an intelligent house, in an intelligent city—according to big media.

And the one we have been waiting for—according to big media.

But not every military expert agrees that the big media beloved messiah has got this one sized up accurately.

And, it is even possible that those who deign to criticize the big media beloved Messiah are not ALL racists, as big media would have us believe.

Lt. General Calls for DEFCON 1 Over ISIS 9/11 Threat

    By: Aaron Gardner (Diary) | August 24th, 2014 at 02:33 AM | 32

On Saturday, retired Lt. General McInerney appeared on Fox News, where he issued a dire and frightening warning about an apparent imminent threat to the United States. Citing an as-yet unpublished book by an unnamed “major news network’, the General predicts an upcoming “earth-shattering” revelation that foreshadows a major event ahead of or on September 11th of this year.

    Video courtesy of Digitas Daily

Just before the above clipped portion, FoxNews host Uma Pemmaraju and Lt. General McInerney discussed various bits about border security, the threat of ISIS in Syria and Iraq, and the relation of the issues. Pemmaraju then asked the retired Lt. General what his sources were telling him. Then this happened …

On the 7th of September, a major news network and a major publishing network are going to put out a book, and it is going to be earth shattering of what’s happening and what happened. the fact is we may even see a 9/11/14 mh-370 resurface again. We should be prepared for anything, we should go to DEFCON 1, our highest state of readiness and be prepared as we lead up to 9/11.

This … Well, this has never happened. The United States has never gone to DEFCON 1 for the simple reason that it would mean that Nuclear War is imminent. The closest we have come is DEFCON 2 and that was during the Cuban Missile Crisis. If what McInerney’s people are telling him is true, and we really do need to go to DEFCON 1, then the excrement is on an imminent course of impact with the rotary wind device.

Unfortunately, we will all just have to wait and see. When Pemmaraju asked McInerney for more details on the bombshell report he is drawing his concerns from, he balked. ”I can’t give you any more than what i’ve just said. but it is going to be extremely import and America should take notice. We are less safe today than we were six years ago.”

Shortly after the segment aired, Uma Pemmaraju replied to me on twitter with a note to stay tuned in around the September 7th time frame for more on this story.

During the segment McInerny went on to note that Lt. General Mike Flynn ”has pointed out, they have almost doubled the radical islamic organizations in the last six years and probably a 30% increase in the force structure.”

Considering the weakness that the United States has displayed on the international stage with regard to ISIS, it may be a safe bet that it attempts to celebrate the anniversary of 9/11 with a mass casualty attack of its own. Hopefully the people at the NSA, CIA, DHS, DOJ, DOD and other alphabet agencies, meant to help protect our nation rather than pester its people, are looking into these threats and nothing will happen.

That said, I don’t know when I last heard a retired general go on television and beg for DEFCON 1.

    We live in interesting times.

  67. Gosh, NBC and CNN were so busy exploiting the Ferguson situation that they got scooped on the DEFCON 1 threat, and partly because they have also been so busy covering up what Obama is doing.

  68. Just another day in the life of the all knowing big media beloved Messiah . . .

Who sez a junior varsity team cannot be dangerous?

    This is no contradiction.

Besides, consistency is the hob goblin of small minds.

Besides, the big media messiah is all knowing and all caring . . .

Okay, so maybe he was a little flippant–but that is just his winning sense of humor.

Or, perhaps, a trifle, um, er, clueless. (Just a trifle now, don’t get carried away)

And perhaps just a little panic.

At the strategic level, the question is not what did he get right, but what didn’t the big media beloved, protected and swaddled messiah get wrong?

    Meanwhile, the password is: FORE!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Question: how can a messiah, who is, by definition all knowing, credibly claim that he did not know? It is unthinkable.)

“The administration’s abrupt transition from complacency to near panic on the rise of ISIS recalls Donald Rumsfeld’s famous dictum. But before the dictum, first the panic. The New York Times captures the sudden shift in attitude in its opening paragraphs of an article by Mark Mazzetti and Helene Cooper:

Earlier this year, President Obama likened the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria to a junior varsity basketball squad, a group that posed little of the threat once presented by Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda.

But on Thursday, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel called ISIS an “imminent threat to every interest we have,” adding, “This is beyond anything that we’ve seen.” (snip)

President Obama’s earlier dismissal of ISIS in January falls into a much more serious category. In an interview with David Remnick of the New Yorker, he boasted that there were now no significant threats worth considering. Al Qaeda had been “decimated.” When Remnick challenged that claim, pointing out that the Black Flag was flying over Fallujah, the president famously waved it off. He characterized ISIS as a “jayvee” or junior varsity team, not even to be taken seriously.

“The analogy we use around here sometimes, and I think is accurate, is if a jayvee team puts on Lakers uniforms that doesn’t make them Kobe Bryant,” Obama said, resorting to an uncharacteristically flip analogy. “I think there is a distinction between the capacity and reach of a bin Laden and a network that is actively planning major terrorist plots against the homeland versus jihadists who are engaged in various local power struggles and disputes, often sectarian.”

(And, best of all, the coup d gras—or in Obama’s case the coup de gas–or verbal flatulence if you prefer)

Now that the Sunni/Shi’a civil war has made a mockery of his “equilibrium” and Homeland Security prepares to defend Chicago, the analytic problem is better presented in the reverse:

His foreign policy isn’t in need a tweak or a tuneup.

In fact, the question now is whether any parts of it can still be salvaged.

He can’t drive it to the used car lot and sell it to someone else.

The best he can do is tow it to the junkyard.

    (Continued in next comment)

  69. O-ba-Mah, Messiah, He Could Have Been A Contender!
To salvage anything O-ba-mah has to go back to the known knowns. Like a man in a swimming pool who belatedly realizes that he can’t swim, his first step must be to extend his foot to see if he can reach bottom. If not, then where is the nearest gutter? The problem is the floundering man in the pool had introduced himself as the next Michael Phelps. Now he has to save himself without letting on.

The administration is caught between demoralization and the need to maintain appearances. More broadly, this is true of the left as a whole in this moment of crisis. Try as they might, the left can’t think of a way to reverse the catastrophes of their making because, like a bad leak that can’t be addressed by a washer change, the fault lies behind their wall. To fix things they’re going to have to rip everything out and start almost from the beginning.

The attraction of Ferguson was it offered them momentary escape into a re-enaction of the Old Days. Freedom Rider and all that. But it’s 2014 and not 1964 and when Ferguson fades, ISIS and Putin and the recession will still be there. Neither Obama nor the Left can handle the truth, so they won’t handle it.

Therefore they will remain transfixed, in a state compounded of fear, nervous laughter, bravado and denial, until a hit big enough comes along to snap them out of it. But the fear is there. It was there even when Remnick interviewed Obama in January. Like a man feeling the first indefinite symptoms of a disease, he must have guessed something was wrong and already thinking of how to shift the blame.

“One of the things that I’ve learned to appreciate more as President is you are essentially a relay swimmer in a river full of rapids, and that river is history,” he later told me. “You don’t start with a clean slate, and the things you start may not come to full fruition on your timetable.”

Rumsfeld would have guessed Obama would look for someone to blame, for that was a known known. The catastrophes and cascade of failures had one simple cause in his universe: someone else. The buck stops there. His predecessor had dropped the baton in the relay race of history and it was his sad duty to be the victim. Whatever betide, whatever befall, remember: he could have been a contender.

  70. If I were Kobe Bryant, I would be inclined to say, fuck you Obama, don’t drag me into your dangerous delusions.

  71. wbboei August 23, 2014 at 9:13 am

It is a profound mystery to me why you continue to look for ways to explain away the plain meaning of what she said to Goldberg.

I read the whole interview and, in perspective, her remarks were not so divisive as one would expect just by reading “Don’t do stupid stuff is not an organizing principle.”

But Friedsdorf’s follow-up opinion simply points to the fact that HRC also said that she couldn’t guarantee a better or even different result in Syria if her advice had been followed. Thus the title “Mission Impossible” — Friedsdorf claiming that the best course of action was to do nothing, as Obama decided to do, whereas HRC would rather have tried – and failed – than do nothing at all.

I still side with HRC; but unlike you, I’m not automatically averse to reading reasoned opinion against her.

Surely, you realize that Obama is failing, and his policies are imposing great hardship on this country and the world. It is a losing strategy for her to support him on substantive policies….

I strongly doubt that HRC, even encouraged to do so by WJC or her inner circle, will decide to contradict Obama, or anyone else, for that matter, for reasons of political expediency – winning an election. She’s not like that. It’s one of the things I like the most about HRC. She does her homework, makes up her mind and carries the issues and options to the fore regardless of who else she may be seen as supporting or contradicting.

If you want to know what she needs to do, read the latest article by Cost, which delineates how they will attack her, namely by tying her to Obama, and making her out to be someone who jibs, tacks and equivocates, rather than leading.

That may make her a bad campaigner but, to my mind, the best of presidents if she manages to win.

In the 2008 campaign – 2007, actually – I remember one instance where she was asked about Spitzer’s proposed issuance of driver’s licenses to undocumented aliens in NY. She was of two minds about it, and equivocated. That was a low point for her in debates. I don’t think she did anything like that again.

But the question was about state powers and was asked in a presidential debate. There was plenty of room for equivocation. She went on to have a strong immigration plank in the platform she proposed anyway.

Vice presidents are usually seen as running on their president’s coattails – which harmed Humphrey and Mondale but favored Bush 41 and would have favored Gore too if Gore had calculated WJC’s popularity better.

But just being of the same party is not enough of a drag on a candidate. In 2008, Bush 43 had the lowest approval rating (30%) of any president in modern history, but up until the Lehman Bros crash of 15 Sept 08, it was McCain that was leading in the polls. Thereafter, it was not the fact that McCain was Republican that dragged him down but rather the fact that he had admitted his total ignorance of things economic, whereas people were more apt to credit the Democrats (and rightly so!) with economic savvy.

Oh, sure, she must not separate herself from Obama, because that would alienate blacks and leftists who control the party. If that is it….

No, that’s not it. The fact is that HRC has ideas of her own and she does not identify herself negatively or even positively with respect to anyone else, including Obama. She is her own woman with her own mind. She has said repeatedly that she will take up the challenge of a presidential campaign only if she finds a way to bring the country together and move forward, specifically on the economic level.

In the Goldberg interview, she was confronted with the ‘doctrine’ “Don’t do stupid shit,” which in itself is stupid shit. It’s not a doctrine. Her reaction was predictable.

She was also asked if Obama was guilty of under-reach just as Bush 43 was guilty of over-reach. Her answer was that one would be as bad as the other, but defended Obama on that point because she knew him too well to say he was guilty of under-reach.

I can only say that she is calling the shots as best she can and not for the political expediency of distancing herself from Obama in view of a possible presidential run. Knowing HRC’s mindset and history fairly well, I cannot see her changing that attitude in the future, even if she runs for president, because her resume shows that that is what she’s all about: making up and speaking her own mind.

I think if you, admin and others here are hoping that HRC will make up her mind on major issues like the Affordable Care Act by following public opinion polls or the political expediency of undermining Obama, I think you are calling for that out of ignorance of our girl. That’s not what she’s about.

  72. One of the things that I’ve learned to appreciate more as President is you are essentially a relay swimmer in a river full of rapids, and that river is history,” he later told me. “You don’t start with a clean slate, and the things you start may not come to full fruition on your timetable.”
    What a complete bullshit artist.

Anything good that happens now or in the future is my doing.

Anything bad that happens in the future as a direct and proximate result of my policies is not my fault.

Because it is all just one long river . . .

  73. Six bullets do not necessarily kill:

Update: 5:45 AM PT — Suge is out of surgery … according to family sources. We’re told Suge was shot 6 times. He’s currently in ICU, but is expected to recover.

Shots rang out at 1OAK nightclub in West Hollywood at around 1:30 AM Sunday … and Suge Knight was shot twice and taken to the hospital by ambulance where he was rushed into surgery … eyewitnesses and Suge’s family tell TMZ.

A source close to Suge tells us … he was shot in the stomach and arm and apparently in other places as well.

Tyson Beckford, Robert Ri’chard and Apple de Ap all tell TMZ … they were inside the pre-VMA party hosted by Chris Brown when they heard 4 shots ring out inside the club.

Suge walked out on his own power … a cop spotted him and walked the rap mogul to the police car where Suge sat. Suge was then put in an ambulance and taken to a local hospital.

It is our understanding that Officer Darren Wilson was not at the party.

    Well, I admire your faith.

    And faith can move mountains.

    You see an alabaster saint.

I see a human being with human flaws.

And the duty of a friend is to tell them what they need to watch out for.

Hillary has two tendencies that get her into trouble.

One of them is to carry partisan advantage to its bitter extreme.

This goes all the way back to the time she served as an advisor to the Watergate Committee to the Benghazi Committee.

The other tendency is to make accommodations to power for those on her political side.

We all have our flaws, and power magnifies them.

By the same token she has other qualities which are admirable and much needed at the present time.

As Jimmy Stewart said in Anatomy of A Murder, nobody is all one thing.

    I want her to win.

And I want her to be a moderate (not leftist) version of Margaret Thatcher.

That is where idealism and realism come together.

  75. It is our understanding that Officer Darren Wilson was not at the party.
    Perhaps not.

But NBC and CNN have him on the guest list.

At last, we know the reason why comedy writers don’t make fun of President Obama much.

It turns out the man is completely unmockable.

We learn this from Jim Downey, the longtime “Saturday Night Live” specialist in political japery. “If I had to describe Obama as a comedy project, I would say, ‘Degree of difficulty, 10 point 10,’” the writer says in the expanded new edition of the “SNL” oral history book, “Live from New York.”

“It’s like being a rock climber looking up at a thousand-foot-high face of solid obsidian, polished and oiled,” Downey says. “There’s not a single thing to grab onto — certainly not a flaw or hook that you can caricature. [Al] Gore had these ‘handles,’ so did Bush, and Sarah Palin, and even Hillary had them. But with Obama, it was the phenomenon — less about him and more about the effect he had on other people and the way he changed their behavior. So that’s the way I wrote him.”

Got that? The charter Choom Ganger, confessed eater of dog and snorter of coke. The doofus who thinks the language spoken by Austrians is “Austrian,” that you pronounce the p in “corpsman” and that ATMs are the reason why job growth is sluggish. The egomaniac who gave the queen of England an iPod loaded with his own speeches and said he was better at everything than the people who work for him. The empty suit with so little real-world knowledge that he referred to his brief stint working for an ordinary profit-seeking company as time “behind enemy lines.” The phony who tells everyone he’s from Chicago, though he didn’t live there until his 20s, and lets you know that he’s talking to people he believes to be stupid by droppin’ his g’s. The world-saving Kal-El from a distant solar system who told us he’d heal the planet and cause the oceans to stop rising. The guy who shared a middle name with one of the most hated dictators on earth.

Nope, nothing there to mock. No way to get a grip on this polished, oiled obsidian.

  77. My favorite is when O gave that speech in Africa, and somehow African as well as O’s own security didn’t vet the sign language interpreter – who apparently was well known there as a fraud. And everyone watching him “translate” knew it was fake, as half the time he just stood there, and the other half he was doing only a few different hand movements.

So much could have been done with that, especially since the first “Rule of O” is to “watch what he does, not what he says” – so everytime he speaks, a comedian could have been “signing” what he REALLY means (WORM) – at the very least, when O is announcing something, the comedian could indicate that O is really thinking about golfing lol I think the faux pas of allowing a world dignitary to be interpreted by a fraud, on a program watched by the whole world, could have gotten a lot of mileage.

    ….hmmm…. a fraud interpreted by a fraud…

  78. Best of fortune and luck to those suffering in California today due too the earthquake.

Strong Magnitude 6 Earthquake Rocks San Francisco Bay Area, Dozens Hurt, Significant Damage In Napa

NAPA (CBS SF) — A moderately strong earthquake shook the San Francisco Bay Area early Sunday morning, injuring dozens of people in the Napa Valley, severely damaging historic buildings in downtown Napa, rupturing gas lines and water mains across Napa, Sonoma, and Solano counties, leading to multiple fires, plunging thousands into darkness and buckling and cracking roads on Highway 37 and State Routes 12 and 121.

Over 66 aftershocks were recorded following the earthquake, the largest to hit the Bay Area since the 6.9 magnitude Loma Prieta quake nearly 25 years ago. Initial reports had the earthquake measuring 6.1 magnitude before revising it to 6.0, and then upgrading it back to 6.1.

At least 89 injuries including three critical injuries to two adults and a child were reported by Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa The child was airlifted to another hospital for specialist care after being severely injured when a fireplace collapsed.

Walt Mickens, President and CEO of Queen of the Valley Hospital, said “The majority of injuries are non-life threatening: lacerations, cuts, abrasions, bumps and bruises. One patient has multiple fractures. One heart attack. A handful are being admitted to the hospital. Most are treated and released.”

The hospital has some structural damage and leaks, but the doctors were able to continue to care for the onslaught of patients and set up an on-going triage.

Napa City Councilmember Peter Mott reports the library and the historic Chinese laundry building suffered significant damage, and bricks and glass are scattered across downtown sidewalks on Second and Third Streets. The old courthouse in Napa has significant damage to the brick as well.

At least four mobile homes in Napa burned to the ground, and six to eight others were damaged at the same mobile home park. The older homes sitting on blocks slipped off, rupturing gas lines, and sparking fires.

Water mains in residential areas are broken, causing some localized street flooding.

All major Bay Area bridges have been inspected and concluded to be safe.

The U.S. Geological Survey’s automated economic loss software predicts losses above $100 million dollars.

A significant aftershock of at least magnitude 5.0 is likely in the next seven days, with U.S. Geological Survey scientists forecasting a 54 percent chnce. There is a 5 percent chance of another quake greater than 6.1.

As the first major earthquake to hit the Bay Area in the age of smartphones and social media, photos and damage reports quickly surfaced moments after the quake.

It just goes to show that the best defense is a good offense.

If you abandon your offense, the scavengers will pick your bones clean.

I have come to the conclusion, subject to additional proof, that Obama is actually in league with our enemies.

Yes, I know that is a quantum leap.

But if you remember who his mentors were–Franklin Marshall Davis, Jerimiah Wright, George Soros, each of whose motives were precisely that, it is not nearly as crazy as it sounds.

And even if it is wrong, I would much prefer to proceed on that assumption than fall into the trap laid for us by his allies and enablers, namely that he has good intentions, but faulty execution.

I honestly believe he is malignant, and that time will prove me correct in that assessment.

  84. “The attraction of Ferguson was it offered them momentary escape into a re-enaction of the Old Days. Freedom Rider and all that. But it’s 2014 and not 1964 and when Ferguson fades, ISIS and Putin and the recession will still be there. Neither Obama nor the Left can handle the truth, so they won’t handle it.”
That is Richard Fernadez’s assessment and by the Almighty he is right.

Big media was hoping that the Ferguson riots would spread across the nation, and divert public attention from his gross policy failures by their Messiah abroad. Their “reporters” served as agent provocateurs in that strategy. But the fire failed to spread to other venues–like Detroit, Newark and Watts. So why did their plan to expand the civil unrest fail? One of the reasons is that large segments of the public are wise to the game. Another reason is the venues where those riots occurred have not recovered over the past sixty years. And, most important all, those who would riot realize that they face a much greater risk in doing so today, not because of the legal system, which is flabbier than ever today, but because the nation has armed in response to Obama’s threats, consequently, the cost/benfit associated with assaulting innocent people and burning their homes has gone up for those who would do so. As Holmes said, if you want to know what the law is, don’t ask a judge, ask a thief. Many thieves voted for Obama.

  85. The executives at CNN and NBC hoped that the civil unrest seen in Ferguson would spread to other cities, and divert public attention from the collapse of Obama’s foreign policy. Tactically, they chose their reporters and witnesses accordingly, and they encouraged local affiliates to incite their audiences in other venues.

However, they faced the same kind of resistance that a union like the Teamsters faces when it tries to take a local labor dispute national, by spreading the picket line to remote venues. The natural response of other local unions, and in this case other communities, is to avoid getting dragged into it, and sacrificing their own economic well being. Obviously, these things have a cost, and in many venues, local affiliates to big media are closer to the community and more likely to behave responsibly than their big media parent company.

Once again, the thing that baffles me most is the unwillingness of the elder statesmen of big media-people like Tom Browkaw, who hopes to be thought of as a loyal American and paradigmatic journalist, to rail against the fraud and distortion perpetrated by the company he worked for. I suppose it is a matter of money and social standing within that community which stays his hand from acting and saying what needs to be said. Nevertheless, this makes of him a disappointment and a discredit to his profession.

  86. Usually, the wag the dog strategy works in reverse, i.e. start a foreign war to divert attention from domestic problems. Obama chose to do it differently. Why? Because he does not know what he is doing? No. Because he is a messiah, and in his own carefully chosen words, I can do anything I want to do. How marvelous it must be to be freed from the constaints of gravity, money, statescraft, the constitution, the separation of powers, and the welfare of the people. All very liberating I am sure. Like doing Immelman rolls in Airforce I–our mad man messiah.

  87. A big fat fuckin WHOOPS…………Any other President, this would kill their Presidency but not Teflon Tart.

Obama could have saved the guy but his vanity came first…The BASTARD.

According to a new Sunday Times report by Toby Harden, “Pentagon sources said Foley and the others might well have been rescued but Obama, concerned about the ramifications of US troops being killed or captured in Syria, took too long to authorise the mission.”

It’s claimed that Obama was concerned about his administration being Carterized had the mission failed.

For President Barack Obama the decision to send in the Night Stalkers was an agonising one. The audacious bin Laden raid in Pakistan had been a success but also preying on his mind was the failed 1980 Delta Force operation to rescue American hostages in Tehran. Sandstorms and mechanical troubles led the mission to be abandoned and eight American troops were killed when two aircraft collided. The debacle cast a shadow over Jimmy Carter’s presidency.

However, it also seems worth noting that the eventual timing of the mission may have made for a nice July 4th weekend announcement for Obama had the mission succeeded. Instead, Obama played golf on July 5th, as well as an additional six times in the month he is said to have spent agonizing over his decision, the delay of which may have cost journalist Foley his life.

Anthony Shaffer, a former lieutenant-colonel in US military intelligence who worked on covert operations, said: “I’m told it was almost a 30-day delay from when they said they wanted to go to when he finally gave the green light. They were ready to go in June to grab the guy [Foley] and they weren’t permitted.”

  88. Obama, concerned about the ramifications of US troops being killed or captured in Syria, took too long to authorise the mission.”
    He froze.

    Like he always does.

    Shades of Benghazi.

Nevertheless, 45% of likely voters APPROVE of his leadership.

Which can only mean that 45% of likely voters have shit for brains.

No small thanks to big media.

I think the test will come when he legalizes 20 million illegals, floods the job market, and gives that little maggot Zuckerberg what he wants. Then we will see whether his support holds, or whether it craters. Big media will do everything they can to save him, but everything may not be enough. And then if ISIS does something naughty, his cavalier dismissal of that threat may bite him in the ass as well. His friends are big media and the crony capitalists who put him in there. The electorate who stands by him are either dependent on government assistance, or work for government, and are incapable of realizing the risk he poses to everyone.

I would like to know why our fallen heroes do not get representatives from Washington attending their funerals, but a 18 year old AA man gets 3.
You are too young to remember film noire, but this is typical of that genre.

Obama is not invested in fighting these wars. He is invested in stirring up racial dissent. His background as a Chicago based community organizer foreshadowed what he is doing now. As with any personnel decision, past performance is the best predictor of future performance, and Obama is no exception. The bigger problem however was big media imbued him with supernatural powers, and that fed his delusions which is what we see now.

  92. The same can be said of Eric Holder. As a student at Columbia he took over the Administration building to protest the Viet Nam war. He was, and is, a black version of bomber Bill Ayers, another known associate of Messiah Obama.

  93. I am racking my brain for a strategy that would harness the great strengths of Messiah Obama to curb the threat posed by ISIS. I have a few ideas, but in the main the well is dry. One idea would be for him to challenge their leader to a game of half court basketball. Another idea would be for him to take off his mantle as president and assume the position of a community organizer, and press their grievance against the white colonial oppressor. Another would be for him to kiss the Koran, and admit he is one of them. Another would for Mohammed Obama to go to the ISIS mountain with NBC and CNN reporters in tow, let those reporters off the plane first, and then get back aboard and fly off without them. Another would be for Michelle to show up in a fashionable Burka, and hold up a sign saying no peace no justice and meet me at the Ritz. I know. None of this will move ISIS to retreat, but at least it is a start, and much better than turning your back on the problem and playing golf. Hope, change, ISIS.

  95. The above account of Obama’s indecision gives him far more credit than he deserves.

    For example:

“For President Barack Obama the decision to send in the Night Stalkers was an agonising one.”

Question: how the fuck does he know it was agonizing? No drama Obama does not agonize. Maybe over the bookie sheet in March madness, but not over a trivial life and death matter like this. Jar head does the agonizing for him.

    And this:

“The audacious bin Laden raid in Pakistan had been a success”

Question: was he a member of the special force team? Did he or his national security advisor even know about this in advance. If not it is understandable. His national security adviser has been known to pass along top secret information involving SEAL tactics to a certain NYT reporter, who was enough of a jack ass to publish them. Obama and his team cannot be trusted.

    And finally, this:

“But also preying on his mind was the failed 1980 Delta Force operation to rescue American hostages in Tehran.”

Question: how does this writer know what if anything was preying on Obama’s mind at the moment of indecision. Nobody does, including Obama. Any more than anything was preying on his mind the night of the Benghazi attack when he went to bed without giving the rescue order. Most likely, he was thinking about the river of history.

  96. I see where Romney supporters in Massachusetts floating the idea that he run for president having run and failed twice before. As Einstein said, insanity consists of doing the same thing over and over, failing, but expecting a different result. Romney is like they said about Dewey in 1948–he reminds you of the groom figurine on a wedding cake. In my book there are two Republicans capable of representing the American People, rather than the K street lobbyists. One of them is Ben Carson, who impressed me so much as a human being and loves this country. The other is Ted Cruz who combines a 200 IQ with a willingness to chase the money changers from the temple, and a willingness to be a honey badger kicking sand in the eyes of RINOs, DINOs and our big media beloved Messiah.

  97. “But also preying on his mind was the failed 1980 Delta Force operation to rescue American hostages in Tehran.”

lol Because we all know Obama loves to learn, and he’s a huge history buff, right up there with Clinton. If 1980 was on his mind, someone had *just* told him about it lol

  98. A ray of hope from a source not anticipated. Racists, take note:
The father of an 18-year-old black man whose fatal shooting by a white police officer earlier this month led to several days of occasionally violent protests in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson, Mo. pleaded Sunday for a “day of silence” when he buries his son Monday. “Tomorrow all I want is peace while my son is being laid to rest,” Michael Brown Sr. told hundreds of people in St. Louis’ largest city park during brief remarks at a festival that promotes peace over violence. “That’s all I ask. And thank you.” snip

  99. 8/23/14. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Nancy Pelosi split in DNC contest
snip In the end, Wasserman Schultz got the leader she wanted — but only after a tense and awkward race that left some activists wondering why there had to be a fight at all. snip
Once the result was announced, Germond moved to make Shackelford’s election unanimous, according to Democratic sources.
But the tension had been real, and the race had been brewing for nearly two months, according to emails obtained by POLITICO snip After the vote, Democratic officials tried to put the race in the best possible light. “The Democratic Party has never had a shortage of great women leaders and this race between two strong candidates was no exception,” said DNC spokeswoman Lily Adams. “We are excited to work hand in hand with the caucus in the coming months to mobilize women this November.”
But the battle between the two women has caused tension among the party activists, and some were incensed that there had to be a competition at all. Donna Brazile, the DNC’s vice chair of voter registration and participation, charitably called it a “nail-biter.” Others were more blunt.“It’s really ugly. Why are we doing this?” asked one Democratic activist who asked not to be named to speak candidly. “Nobody wants this. Nobody wants to have to choose between two people they know.” But it didn’t escape anyone’s notice that Germond jumped into the race just a year-and-a-half after Wasserman Schultz ousted her. In July, Germond emailed her supporters that she already had “an extraordinary outpouring” of support.

  100. Why does Obama continue to have approval ratings in the 40’s?
He really doesn’t. They are rigged upward 5-10% to perpetuate the myth of popularity or consent of the governed which is absolutely essential to power.

Why would pollsters, political parties, and media pay to do that?
The psychology of sunk costs is the primary reason I think. All of the aforementioned invested so much (financially, psychologically, reputation, socially, etc) into the election and subsequent popularity contest of this clunker that they cannot just walk away. Sunk costs is not just monetary investment or even time invested. It is also emotional investment, pride and hubris of being a winner or on being “right and righteous”, of being “smart and well educated, being in the privileged social class, and being part of the in or hip new wave of elite “thinkers”.

Why can’t they just admit he is a loser and that their investment into a clusterf### is gone? It depends on what they invested. If it was just money it is easier to let it go than those who primarily went with the mental energy to convince themselves that “the One” was their hope and change and it was really just a delusion. Mental and emotional investment, not to mention social and reputation costs are very difficult psychologically to walk away from. Energy and money is continued to be invested (often lying and fraud is utilized) rather than abandon what has already been expended. Losses are more psychologically difficult than any gains which might be accomplished by walking away from Obama. Pain versus gain for Democrats may change in the upcoming election. Marketers like Axelrod and Plouffe understand this even if Obama doesn’t.

If that is the explanation, then over 40% of the electorate are the walking wounded–unable to reconcile their delusions with the reality of what he is doing. I can see that applying to perhaps 20-25%, as it did to Bush at the end of his term–that was the number who stuck with him. Perhaps the additional 15% represents those who wanted the symbol of what he represents, who conveniently ignored our admonition that if now is the time for our first black president let us at least be certain that he is the right black president, and are now worried about the ramifications of his failure. That applies with particularity to big media who freely admitted (at least Chris Matthews did between torrents of spittle) that our role is to make sure Obama is successful, which was the both confirmation and precursor of the wall of lies they have told about him. But whatever follows, this much is clear. The electorate is permanently wounded–and hoplessly divided by this psychopath, and in the days ahead it will get worse. The debate will not be about who lost the Middle East, but who lost America. It will divide this nation for a generation or more, like Viet Nam, because the impacts here will be long term. Even in a Black Swan scenario, those he has so polarized will never come together with him or his fellow travelers. No rabbits in the hat this time. None.

  102. Looks like some of the Dems are getting a bit nervous….I say let them stew for a bit, she owes them NOTHING. They are desperate to force her out into the open…..DON’T DO IT, you decide when and where and how. If they don’t like it, Fuck ’em.

Point of No Return: Democrats Want Definitive Signal from Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton isn’t simply dipping her toes into the 2016 presidential waters; it looks more like she’s sizing up for a somersault – with a full twist – off a diving board.

But if she ends up deciding not to jump in, Democrats want an answer sooner rather than later.

n the past few months, Clinton has concluded a big book tour with dozens of news interviews; distanced herself (either in small or substantial ways) from her party’s currently unpopular president; and is now heading next month to Iowa, which traditionally holds the first presidential nominating contest.

What’s significant about all of this activity, Democrats say, is that the more she walks and talks like a presidential candidate – effectively freezing out any other Democrats even contemplating a run – the more difficult it becomes to turn around and say no.

“The longer it goes, the harder it becomes for her not to run, unless there is a significant reason she can’t,” says Democratic communications strategist Karen Finney, an MSNBC contributor.

“A ‘no’ has to come earlier than a ‘yes,’” adds another Democratic strategist, who wished to remain anonymous. “If it’s a no, I suspect she won’t let it drag on.”

The question is timing, of course. Some Democrats believe she has until early next year to state she’s NOT running. Others believe that it should come before or after the midterm elections.

“Secretary Clinton can freeze the Democratic field as long as she wants, but I would suspect she and her team aren’t interested in dragging it out any more than anyone else,” says Stephanie Cutter, a former top aide to President Barack Obama’s 2012 campaign. “ I think she has until early 2015 to make a decision.”

While all of her steps since leaving her position as secretary of state suggest plans for a presidential run beginning next year, there also have been doubts she might not run.

Has all the scrutiny over her news interviews (“dead broke!” “distancing herself from Obama!”) made her think twice about running for president in a media environment that has changed considerably since her last presidential run? Does she simply want to be a grandmother now that daughter Chelsea is expecting her first child?

  103. a better word than ramification of his failure would be this”

“the blow back on them over his failure which will adversely affect the lives of millions of Americans, due to his perverse agenda, and the intensive efforts of big media to pull the wool over their eyes”.

  104. But if she ends up deciding not to jump in, Democrats want an answer sooner rather than later.
    She owes them nothing.

Are the Republicans asking the same question of Romney, Christie, Cruz, Paul.

She needs to bide her time.

If memory serves, she announced her campaign in January 2008–9 months before the election.

Now they are demanding she announce by year end?

That would be two years before the election.

The answer needs to be no.

If she announces that early, she gives her opponents–dims, republicans, and the so called media alike time.

More time for dims to run another stealth candidate against her.

More time for republicans to define her before they are required to define their candidate and dilute her poll numbers.

More time for the press to distort her positions.

I totally agree with you. But I am starting to see both Obama supporters and the Democratic Party leaders and hangers on and their continuing voters as “emotion” voters. Logic, self interest, reason, facts, etc do not matter in the least. It is what they “feel” that motivates them and all they are capable of at this point. And a lot of it is fear. Fear that they will loose status and that they are dumbasses for picking an incompetent boob and then having invested their reputation, status, social connections, BELIEF and COMMITMENT (like a personal relationship) and damned the nation with their stupidity and selfish psychological needs to be part of the in group to affirm their insecure wormy little butts. Everything the Democrats do (including Obama) is what they FEEL and be-damned to facts. Ferguson, ISIS and the Arab Spring, invasion of the border are all because they FEEL something instead of looking at reality and facts. And now the emotional choices instead of any based on facts and reality are snowballing. Mass emotional delusion by the Democratic Party plus their fear of pain on bailing on Obama rather than looking for gain is going to kill it. And the polling is padded out for Obama so he can continue to sort of govern. Approval is probably mid 30’s or so which is about the same ratio of emotional thinkers versus fact thinkers. I think. LOL.

  109. The little dims will go to their graves swearing that Bush was the one who lost America. In so doing, they will be delusional until the end, rather than admitting the role they themselves played in the decline of this nation. An objective observer would conclude that whereas Bush was bad Obama was worse. Arguably, Bush played to the worst instincts of the nation, whereas Obama destroyed the very fabric of this nation, sending us all into a tail spin. He has permanently undermined race relations, making it impossible to achieve the vision of Martin Luther King. That is quite a legacy even for a big media beloved Messiah. Turns out his version of how to serve Ameria was a cook book. Obama is the negation of anything you would want your child to grow up to be.

Yes. What we are dealing with here is a widespread mental disorder which tends to validate the condemnation of the public mind which we hear about too often from the aristocrats.

When children reach a certain age, they must face the bitter truth which is that there is no Santa Claus.

Unfortunately for the nation, millions of dimocrats are incapable of making that same transition from childhood to adulthood relative to Obama. Needless to say, that bodes ill for them, the party and the nation.

And I haven’t the foggiest idea what to do about it. Lord knows I have tried–through analytical analysis, and through satire, all to no avail.

  111. Point of No Return: Democrats Want Definitive Signal from Hillary Clinton
    Sure sounds like an ultimatum.

So, what have they got to back it up?

    Lizzy Borden Warren?

  112. Ultimatums such as this go to the question of who will control the party?

On the odds, it is not the centrist who are trying to call her hand.

It is the leftists who seek to control her and subordinate her to their agenda.

  113. Yup, she owes the sweet FA……..she’ll give an answer when she is ready, fed up of these whinging lefty Dems trying to force her agenda, screw em.

  114. Christians and those who study history have no difficulty grasping the concept that the fight of the twenty first century will be a battle between Western Civilization and Islam, with China playing both ends to the middle. But to secular leftists, this is an utterly impossible concept for them to grasp. Their agenda advocates the demise of western civilization too, and that is why they have been vocal in their support for radical Islam, and vocal in their animus toward Israel. Thus, in the great battle of this century which could end in Armageddon, the left has already chosen sides. And the side they have chosen is the wrong side-the side of death, destruction and decay. Their Messiah, Obama, is “the one” who is on the wrong side of history. And so are they.

  115. People will never understand the truth as long as they conflate the term liberal and the term leftist. The first term implies respect for this nation, and its constitution, with a concern for the people. The latter implies a contempt for the people and a belief that they must be subordinated to a well connected sub group with a pipeline to heaven (Imperial Japan) or the vanguard of history (the Marxist) or a master race (The Nazis).

And behind each of those false gods what do you find? In all cases, you find uber capitalists–with the Marxists, Occidental Oil and the Banking House of Shiff; with the Nazis, the Bush family and House of Krup; in the case of Imperial Japan, the American steel companies etc. And behind Obama you find George Soros, Comcast, General Electric and Jamie Dimon. The point being this: the role of the multi national corporation in the rise of these aberrant forms of government, and the death and destruction which follows in its wake cannot be ignored.

Christians and those who study history have no difficulty grasping the concept that the fight of the twenty first century will be a battle between Western Civilization and Islam, with China playing both ends to the middle.

I’m a Christian and student of history, and don’t see this struggle as so epic as you say.

For one thing, Western Civilization is an evolving beast that is not entirely defined by what you see of it in the United States today. (In fact, some say that civilization barely affects the United States at all!)

For another thing, Islam is interpreted and applied differently in different cultures. The violence of ISIS is abhorred by many Muslim countries and you get varying applications of Islamic government in countries like Tunisia, Egypt, Pakistan and so forth. On an international level, you have much greater animosity between Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain against Iran than between any of those countries and the West. That’s just one example.

Besides, on a religious level, the Koran calls upon Muslims to respect Christians and Jews as “people of the Book.”

So, terrorism aside, I don’t think the West and Islam are at loggerheads at all. At least, I don’t see a violent 21st century stubble brewing.

  117. I do not conflate Obama with Nazism, Communism and Fascism. I correlate him with them. It begins with the cult following and it ends with a subordination of liberty to the dictates of the state. Under his vision of the future all indicia of American sovereignty are to be eliminated. In his view, our history is racist, our practices are militaristic, our nation subordinates people of color, our borders are an encumbrance to the free movement of the people of the world, our constitution is a bar to the will of the imperial executive spelled dictator and our commitment to religious liberty is to be replaced by a maniacal devotion to a state bureaucracy whose gaze is blank and pitiless as the sun, and the entity we call America is to become a vassal to a new world order. This is not supposition and conjecture. It is the blue print, and it is exactly what Cass Sunstein has been working on in the shadows. The left will fight to the death to achieve this, not because of anything we do, but because all revolutions eat their children.

You are nuts and always looking for a fight with wbb.
Your erroneously mistaken, of course, on your comments about Christianity and Islam.
It seems you take great joy in the theater of the absurd.

Your reaction to what I have said is predictable. People living comfortable lives have a hard time grasping what it is that I am saying. History has shown that such warnings are never heeded and are seldom taken seriously. I do not wish to directly attack your idealism. But if you want to know the future, then you must temper it with a realization that no political faction can guarantee prosperity, and it is a fools errand to believe as many do that government can provide everyone with a high standard of living, good health and insure them against the consequences of their own mistakes. Volatility, competition for power, etc. will be our fate as far as I care to look ahead. And the conflict I see, which is shared by billions on this planet does not suggest to me a soft landing. Not when the means of annihilation reside in the hands of those who are less concerned about this world, than the world they are determined to bring about regardless of its cost. Come back in twenty years and you will see which of us is right.

If you say that the Quran calls upon Muslims to respect Christians and Jews as “people of the Book” and use that as proof that the Quran is peaceful then you are sadly mistaken. Your ignorance about Islam is clear. If you can answer the following questions, then you will understand why these verses do not apply anymore:

    1. Do you know of the injunction in the Quran to “kill all infidels”?
    2. Considering the above injunction and the verse that you cited, how do Muslims resolve the inconsistency?
    3. Does Islamic teaching have anything to say about resolving competing/inconsistent/contradictory verses?
    4. Do you understand the concept of abrogration as applied in the appreciation of the Quran?
    5. What does the concept of the abrogation say about two texts that contradict each other?
    6. Which of the the verses has currency based on the concept of abrogation?

I understand the natural inclination to assume that all religions are peaceful. In the case of Islam, the assumption that it is peaceful is without any merit.

  121. Perry just hired Mark Fabiani…advisor in the past for Bill Clinton, special council.

Hope he’s not the idiot who advised him to go to the Grand Jury.

Obama to go it alone vs. ISIL in Syria; won’t seek congressional approval

The White House said Monday that President Obama won’t necessarily seek congressional approval if he decides to order airstrikes in Syria against militants of the Islamic State.

White House press secretary Josh Earnest said Mr. Obama, who is meeting with Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel Monday afternoon, “has not made a decision to pursue any military action in Syria.”

But he said the president doesn’t see the need to seek congressional approval as he did a year ago, when he was considering an attack on the regime of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad for its use of chemical weapons.

“That was a different situation,” Mr. Earnest said. “These are complicated situations and they always will be.”

Syria’s foreign minister said Monday that his country welcomed air strikes by the U.S. in Syria targeting the Islamic State’s terrorist bases, but warned that Damascus should be warned first. Mr. Earnest didn’t comment on that possibility.

A top White House aide said last week that Mr. Obama would take action against the Islamic State “regardless of borders.”

He really does think he can do what he wants.

  123. These days, it is not uncommon to hear someone say:

Obama is the WORST president in this nation’s history.

Whereupon a defender might say something like

Did you study all the other presidents before making that ridiculous assessment?

Well, now we can throw that one right back in their ignorant faces.

By showing how Barack Hussein Obama is a composite of the worst traits of our worst president.

    1. Like Hoover, he has failed to rebuild the economy.

    2. Like Nixon, he has spied on Americans and lied through his teeth.

    3. Like Grant, he has surrounded himself with uber corrupt and incompetent people.

    4. Like Filmore, he has failed to take actions on issues critical to our survival as a nation.

    5. Like Pierce, he has aided and abetted nation destroying forces.

    6. Like Johnson, he has been unable to get along with Congress.

    7. Like Harding, he has been more interested in the perks than the sober task of governing.

    8. Like Buchanan, he failed to perceive the looming threat to this nation, and to act in our defense.

His only defense is he is a big media beloved messiah.

  124. 9. Like Bush, he loves to spy on Americans.

10.Like Nixon, he uses the power of the IRS to persecute political adversaries.

11.Like Carter, he is dangerously incompetent.

12.Like Poppy, he breaks his campaign promises.

In any event, you get the point.

I recommend this only if you feel compelled to cast pearls before swine.

Speaking for myself, I would sooner beat my head against a wall.

Then at least, it feels good when you stop.

Which happens to be how my torts professor described law school.

Few who have been through it would disagree.

  125. “Well, now we can throw that one right back in their ignorant faces.”
Woodrow Wilson is missing from the list. He may be the worst before Bush/Obama.
