Chaos 2013: JFK, Cuba, Israel, Iran, Obama

Narcissist nasty misogynist incompetent treacherous boob Barack Obama. We’ve been writing that considered analysis since 2007. As the Barack Obama occupation of the White House turns into the final days in the bunker even Big Media Obama protection squads are confirming what we have written.

Indeed some of our most dramatic indictments of Barack Obama are gaining traction in Big Media circles. It was not always thus. We recall with disgust that beginning in 2007 Barack Obama supporters said “Obama reminded them of Kennedy.” Recently we mocked a Dr. Nate Morris and other Obama voters who only realized the content of Barack Obama’s character once ObamaCare emerged as the threat to them it is.

Today, on the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, we take an opportunity to discuss the creature known as Barack Obama and several overlooked news stories that confirm what we have written about Barack Obama since 2007.

* * * * * *

What is Barack Obama? Consider this provocative excerpt we wrote years ago which is but a sample of the many times we have ventured to explain the twisted man-child that goes today by the name Barack Obama:

” Obama, the “boy raised by wolves” as Michelle Obama describes him, has been looking for a man in his life for a very long time. We’ve long tracked the Anatomy Of A Flim-Flam Man and how his sperm donor father saw him once and ran away. What we have seen is:

“…Obama’s history is more akin to a rejected and dislocated youth who turned to back-slapping and flim-flam confidence games to fill the hole in his life….”

After his sperm donor dad dumped him, Obama’s doorknob mother (“everyone gets a turn”) with a fetish for third world men hooked up with Lolo Soetoro Mangunharjo. It didn’t take long for Lolo to dump the boy. First Obama was handed over to a nanny (a gay transvestite nanny at that – not that there’s anything wrong with that). Then Obama was shipped to Hawaii to live with the Grandma that Obama, when desperate and for political profit, called a “racist”.

When in Hawaii ten year old Obama was provided by the grandparents with a black family friend. The friend, Frank Marshall Davis, was probably a member of the Communist Party and wrote an autobiographical novel (“Sex Rebel“) that suggests Davis was a pedophile. Davis was a father type for Obama who sought him out for advice. Davis advised Obama regarding college: “You’re not going to college to get educated. You’re going there to get trained.”

The warped boy became a warped man. Obama continued to search for the elusive daddy. One big daddy opportunity came from the pulpit – Jeremiah Wright.”

Our allegations are well documented at the links. Our interpretations of this twisted creep have been our own. Last week however much of our view of Obama was echoed at Politico. Yup, Obama lovin’ Politico. This is what Dr. Berglas, a.k.a. The Politico Shrink, wrote:

Why Does Barack Keep Making Weird Jokes About Michelle? [snip]

To me the important question is: What does it say about President Obama’s feelings for his wife that he made what certainly seems to be an oral sex joke about her in front of a room full of people? [snip]

The Vogue interview offers some clues. “Michelle grew up in a model nuclear family: mom, dad, brother,” the president said. “There’s just a warmth and a sense of belonging. And you know, that’s not how I grew up. I had this far-flung family, father left at a very young age, a stepfather who ended up passing away as well. My mother was this wonderful spirit, and she was adventurous but not always very well organized.”

The first lady, in other words, grew up in an Ozzie & Harriet-type family—the kind Obama has said he wishes he’d had, sometimes even distorting his history to convince himself that he did. In his autobiography, Dreams From My Father, the president idealizes the man who married and then dumped his mother. You can try to spin this all you want, but the fact is that a man who is abandoned in infancy by his father is psychologically scarred for life. [snip]

Most boys in that situation overcompensate for the anxiety, insecurity and self-doubt this causes by developing a defiant cool—a swaggering attitude of “nothing phases me, I’m a rock”—designed to disguise a hole in their self-concept. In psychological parlance, they engage in “compensatory adaptations” to pain, which, in time, become a compensatory personality style, a subtype of narcissism that converts every deficit into its obverse—as in, “I’m not inadequate. I’m The Man!

The key to understanding the president’s less-than-charming jokes about Michelle is realizing that those who suffer compensatory narcissism dread emotional intimacy. To protect themselves against being hurt in adulthood as their abandoning fathers devastated them as children, they reverse their feelings. As in: “I don’t need or love that wonderful, talented, supportive woman; she’s a piece of crap.”

We don’t give a crap about Michelle Obama and her corrupt Chicago familiy. We also don’t buy into a lot of the shrink’s analysis nor think it matters. As to Obama as narcissist we were among the very first, if not the first, to write about it. To us, as we have constantly written, what matters is that Barack Obama’s abandonment by his desperate to be pollinated in the third world mom and sperm donor philandering drunk of a dad lead to a very unhealthy self-loathing (which we find entirely deserved) and a twisted way of dealing with the world. Barack Obama in his self-loathing narcissism (no these are not contradictory) realized that his path lay in flim-flams and back-slapping. This crippled social being achieved great success in self advancement but zero achievement or enduring accomplishments. We summed it all up in Raised By Wolves:

We believe the evidence suggests Obama learned to be a flim-flam back slapper type who did whatever helped him as a survival method when he was an boy. Now Obama has devolved into a cold, arrogant and aloof personality who does not care about anyone but himself.

In Raised By Wolves we compared Barack Obama to Bill Clinton who had a childhood of difficulties as well. Bill Clinton acknowledged his problems and dealt with them in a mature manner. Bill did not run away and become a flim-flam con man. When Bill Clinton said “I feel your pain” he really did because he empathized with people. Bill said about himself:

“You know, my mother was married five times to four men. Because she married my stepfather Roger Clinton twice, because they divorced once and then they remarried,” says Mr. Clinton, pointing out his mother’s grave. “My mother was widowed three times. She had a lot of sadness to her life. But she always carried on.”

So did Bill Clinton. While his mother was divorced from Roger Clinton, the former president decided to change his name legally to Clinton. Why did he keep the first and second names of his biological father, William Jefferson, but not the last name?

I think the fact that I was born without a father, and that I spent a lifetime trying to put together a picture of one also had a lot to do with how I turned out,” says Mr. Clinton. “Good and not so good. But I think on balance, more good than bad. But it had a lot to do with it.”

All people have “issues” in their lives. But how those issues are dealt with and the adult product that emerges because of those “issues” is what matters. Bill Clinton learned to empathize with people. Barack Obama became a soulless shark. The danger to America from Barack Obama’s broken personality is real. Ace of Spades, discussing a book about Jon Peters and Peter Gruber called Hit And Run made some observations which fit Barack Obama exactly:

“Peters, some of his colleagues believed, thrived on chaos. He made nonsensical changes last-minute, throwing off scripts, shooting schedules, and budgets. He would suddenly be committed to an oddball idea that no one had even heard before, nevermind agreed to include in the movie.

They speculated that Peters wasn’t able to perform in a “normal” environment, where he would tend to feel marginalized by the more professional sorts of people.

He preferred chaos. And what some of his colleagues believed was this: When he created chaos, he was the Center of the Storm, and the only person who understood what the hell was going on, because he, after all, was causing all the problems. So creating chaos tended to put him in the central position of power on a set, because everyone would have to come to him to find out how to fix the problems.. that he himself had caused.

And by doing so, he created power for himself. On a “normal” sort of shoot, power flowed to the more centered, more predictable partner Guber, or the other more professionally-minded movie people; but on a chaotic set, power flowed to Peters, who worked well in a chaotic environment.

Or at least he wasn’t as bothered by chaos as most people, and thus would appear to be calm and cool by comparison — a rock in the storm. Again, the storm he created, but he would appear to be a fairly steady rock in that storm.*

I’m starting to wonder if No-Drama Obama shares this preference for chaos and upheaval with Jon Peters.”

Smells like Obama, doesn’t it? It’s all about lies and creating chaos so no one will notice Obama is a stumbling chucklehead boob with a briefcase full of crackpot ideas and snake oil. It’s all about chaos – the New delay: Deadline for ObamaCare enrollment moved back from December 15th to 23rd even though it is understood that the insurers needed the two weeks to fulfill the enrollment process and verify that the applications were in correct order. It is chaos creation for the many having to work extra during the Christmas holidays while Obama sleeps and golfs in Hawaii.

It’s about chaos. It’s all about avoiding accountability with the latest attempt to dodge the 2014 elections with another shifty scam as HHS delays 2015 enrollment to … just past the midterm elections. It’s about chaos and deception.

The chaos caused by yesterday’s vote in the senate profits no one but Barack Obama. Barack Obama will be able to get some appointees through in the chaos he’s created but it is generally agreed by most commentators from Journolister Ezra Klein to Charles Krauthammer that this Senate rules change will come back to help Republicans:

“Decades of negative and destructive policies can be reversed with a bare majority. Obamacare can be repealed with a bare majority. True Conservative Judges will not be banished due to a filibuster threat.

Yes, it’s true that the absence of a filibuster could accelerate the destructive policies. That fear is justified, particularly as to the judiciary. But face it, we were headed there anyway unless drastic action was taken.

That drastic action took place yesterday. By Democrats.

Now at least we have a chance to achieve previously unimaginable progress in a single presidential term if we also have bare majorities in Congress and a President with the willpower. It will take only one such term.”

The chaos will only help Barack Obama and then it will come back to destroy what the Democratic Party worked generations to accomplish.

* * * * * *

Which brings us back to JFK. In May of 2008 we compared John F. Kennedy to Barack Obama. Obama did not come off very well. But back then the Obama shills continued to swoon and declare Barack Obama reminded them of JFK.

We’ve learned much more of the real parentage of JFK’s books since then and we have learned much more about JFK. Much of what we have learned is not flattering but even that new knowledge keeps Barack Obama in the dung heap and Kennedy’s qualifications to be president on a pedestal.

In her latest attempt, contrary to our own advice, to protect Barack Obama by using Hillary Clinton as a shield Elinor Clift documents the lament:

“Obama was supposed to be our Kennedy, but that’s all gone. We don’t think of him that way anymore. What happened?”

What happened was that Obama’s chaos birthing boobery and lack of qualifications to be president have finally been exposed as we knew they would be. John Kennedy was qualified to be president. Barack Obama is not qualified to be president. This is a dangerous fact. It’s dangerous to the United States. It is dangerous to Israel.

John F. Kennedy’s great political achievement arguably is his actions during the Cuban Missile Crisis. What Kennedy understood that politically he could not allow Soviet missiles in Cuba. It was not a military problem, it was a political problem.

During the Cold War the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics had nuclear armed submarines aimed at the United States which were even closer to the continent than potential Cuban missiles. Soviet nuclear torpedoes easily could attack the United States east coast and the entire American Navy in one stroke.

President Kennedy understood that there was no way he could allow Soviet missiles installed in Cuba which would have a greater range that could hit deep into America. It would have been Finlandization and a neutered, nervous, America afraid to function. Kennedy understood the sophisticated interplay of the military and the political.

Barack Obama does not see or deliberately ignores that lesson from JFK. Obama weakens America. Obama’s chaos policies also hurt America’s allies, especially Israel.

These days Barack Obama is planning the ultimate treachery against Israel. Israel can never let Iran hold a nuclear sword over the Jewish state but Barack Obama either does not see this or prefers the Jewish state of Israel to be caged by Iran, if not obliterated by Iran in a second Holocaust.

Fortunately Israel has a leader who will never let Iran achieve it’s political aims with nuclear arms:

“Why Netanyahu won’t yield

The prime minister’s hard line on Iran reflects his deep sense of duty to defend the Jewish state against an existential threat. [snip]

Iranian leaders know — and Israel’s analysts agree — that lessening the economic pressure on Iran will send an incontrovertible message to foreign companies, many of which are already seeking contracts with Tehran, that the sanctions that took years to build are ending. Iran could drag out any confidence-building period indefinitely while producing fissile materiel for multiple bombs.

Top-flight intelligence helped Israel grapple with the challenges posed by the Arab Spring, but the stakes regarding Iran — the lives of 8 million Israelis — are vastly greater. Pundits may posit that Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is a moderate, but Israelis cannot indulge in speculation. Our margin for error is nil.

Knowing that, Netanyahu is duty-bound to warn of Iranian subterfuge, to insist that Iran cede its centrifuges, cease enrichment, close its heavy-water plant and transfer its nuclear stockpiles abroad.

He has a responsibility to explain that although Israel has the most to gain from diplomacy, it also has the most to lose from its failure. He is obliged to stress that the choice is not between sanctions and war but between a bad deal and stronger sanctions. And as the prime minister of the Jewish state, Netanyahu must assert Israel’s right to defend itself against any existential threat.

Critics can call him militant or intransigent, but Netanyahu is merely doing his job. Any Israeli leader who did less would be strategically and morally negligent.”

Barack Obama pretends to not see that Israel cannot risk a hate filled close neighbor with nuclear missiles. Israel for generations has had unacknowledged nuclear weapons but never used them even in the most dire circumstances. An Iranian regime that hates Israel and Saudi Arabia would never exercise restraint. Kennedy could not allow nuclear missiles in Cuba just as Israel cannot allow nuclear missiles aimed from Iran. Barack Obama closes his eyes and pretends to all the world that he just doesn’t see.

Israel sees the danger. Saudi Arabia, which hates Israel and Jews, sees the danger. That’s why Saudi Arabia has decided to help Israel:

“Two old foes unite against Tehran

Convinced that Iran is tricking the world over nuclear weapons, Israel and Saudi Arabia may work together to curb its ambitions

ONCE they were sworn enemies. Now Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency is working with Saudi officials on contingency plans for a possible attack on Iran if its nuclear programme is not significantly curbed in a deal that could be signed in Geneva this week.

Both the Israeli and Saudi governments are convinced that the international talks to place limits on Tehran’s military nuclear development amount to appeasement and will do little to slow its development of a nuclear warhead.

As part of the growing co-operation, Riyadh is understood already to have given the go-ahead for Israeli planes to use its airspace in the event of an attack on Iran.

Israel knows about the dangers of appeasement. Barack Obama only brings chaos. We’ve written about this before too in 2009’s Obama, Jew-baiter, And The Sudentenland.

Recently Ben Stein wrote that Obama is “Making ‘Annihilation’ of Jews Possible. We saw it all years ago but now it is getting Big Media play.

We’ll end today with Fouad Ajami discussing When the Obama Magic Died:

The current troubles of the Obama presidency can be read back into its beginnings. [snip]

Forgive the personal reference, but from the very beginning of Mr. Obama’s astonishing rise, I felt that I was witnessing something old and familiar. My advantage owed nothing to any mastery of American political history. I was guided by my immersion in the political history of the Arab world and of a life studying Third World societies.

In 2008, seeing the Obama crowds in Portland, Denver and St. Louis spurred memories of the spectacles that had attended the rise and fall of Arab political pretenders. I had lived through the era of the Egyptian leader Gamal Abdul Nasser. He had emerged from a military cabal to become a demigod, immune to judgment. His followers clung to him even as he led the Arabs to a catastrophic military defeat in the Six Day War of 1967. He issued a kind of apology for his performance. But his reign was never about policies and performance. It was about political magic.
[snip]

A nemesis awaited the promise of this new presidency: Mr. Obama would turn out to be among the most polarizing of American leaders. No, it wasn’t his race, as Harry Reid would contend, that stirred up the opposition to him. It was his exalted views of himself, and his mission. The sharp lines were sharp between those who raised his banners and those who objected to his policies.

America holds presidential elections, we know. But Mr. Obama took his victory as a plebiscite on his reading of the American social contract. A president who constantly reminded his critics that he had won at the ballot box was bound to deepen the opposition of his critics.

A leader who set out to remake the health-care system in the country, a sixth of the national economy, on a razor-thin majority with no support whatsoever from the opposition party, misunderstood the nature of democratic politics. An election victory is the beginning of things, not the culmination. With Air Force One and the other prerogatives of office come the need for compromise, and for the disputations of democracy. A president who sought consensus would have never left his agenda on Capitol Hill in the hands of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.

Mr. Obama has shown scant regard for precedent in American history. To him, and to the coterie around him, his presidency was a radical discontinuity in American politics. There is no evidence in the record that Mr. Obama read, with discernment and appreciation, of the ordeal and struggles of his predecessors. At best there was a willful reading of that history. Early on, he was Abraham Lincoln resurrected (the new president, who hailed from Illinois, took the oath of office on the Lincoln Bible). He had been sworn in during an economic crisis, and thus he was FDR restored to the White House. He was stylish with two young children, so the Kennedy precedent was on offer.

In the oddest of twists, Mr. Obama claimed that his foreign policy was in the mold of Dwight Eisenhower’s . But Eisenhower knew war and peace, and the foreign world held him in high regard.”

Those American Presidents, agree with them or not, loathe them or love them, that led America in the interests of America and for the people with respect for democratic process. Barack Obama’s narcissism is a chaos craze destructive to America:

“During his first campaign, Mr. Obama had paid tribute to Ronald Reagan as a “transformational” president and hinted that he aspired to a presidency of that kind. But the Reagan presidency was about America, and never about Ronald Reagan. Reagan was never a scold or a narcissist. [snip]

If Barack Obama seems like a man alone, with nervous Democrats up for re-election next year running for cover, and away from him, this was the world he made. No advisers of stature can question his policies; the price of access in the Obama court is quiescence before the leader’s will. The imperial presidency is in full bloom. [snip]

Valerie Jarrett, the president’s most trusted, probably most powerful, aide, once said in admiration that Mr. Obama has been bored his whole life. The implication was that he is above things, a man alone, and anointed. Perhaps this moment—a presidency coming apart, the incompetent social engineering of an entire health-care system—will now claim Mr. Obama’s attention.”

The old saw “If you are bored it’s because you are boring” is so true in Barack Obama’s case. Or as G.K. Chesterton put it “There are no uninteresting things, only uninterested people.” Barack Obama is bored because he is a narcissistic bore. Further, Barack Obama does not want to look in the mirror because what he sees proves that he is the piece of sh*t he knows himself to be. The self loathing narcissist looks in the pool of water and sees a turd.

Narcissist nasty misogynist incompetent treacherous boob – that’s Barack Obama. To borrow from Lloyd Bentsen: “I served with Jack Kennedy. I knew Jack Kennedy. Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine. Obama, you’re no Jack Kennedy.”

  1. Israel Will Fight:

    http://www.weeklystandard.com/articles/no-deal_768038.html

As we go to press, the Obama administration seems to be hurtling towards a bad deal with Iran. The administration will claim the agreement freezes and indeed sets back the Iranian nuclear program. But even the New York Times acknowledges that “only some elements are frozen, and rollbacks in the initial agreement are relatively minor” and can be easily reversed. Furthermore, the “deal” would mean the United States would retreat from its previous clear red line—one embodied in repeated U.N. Security Council resolutions—of requiring that Iran stop enrichment. It would allow Iran to move ever closer to nuclear weapons while getting significant sanctions relief. Some deal! In truth, it’s not a deal in the usual meaning of the term. It’s an accommodation. It’s a way for the Obama administration to avoid confronting Iran, and to buy time to acclimate the world to accepting a nuclear Iran. [snip]

Congress can legislate to try to make up for the failure of Obama’s assurances about health insurance, and to try to help Americans get their old policies back. But Congress won’t be able to legislate to undo a nuclear Iran. The American people can ignore Obama’s efforts to re-market and re-brand Obamacare, and instead insist on its repeal. But the American people won’t be able to repeal Iran’s nuclear weapons once Iran has them.

That’s why serious people, in Congress and outside, will do their utmost to expose and scuttle Obama’s bad Iran deal. They can expect to be smeared by the Obama administration as reckless warmongers and slandered by Obama’s media epigones as tools of the Israel lobby. One trusts at least some members of Congress and some political leaders are made of stern enough stuff to resist the attempted intimidation.

But one can’t be optimistic about their chances for success in scuttling the deal. And one can’t be optimistic that the Obama administration will reverse course at the eleventh hour. Which means the last, best hope for stopping the Iranian regime from having nuclear weapons may well lie in a deus ex machina (if one may be permitted to use a pagan phrase for a Jewish state). It is Israel, not the great American superpower, that may well have to act to thwart Iran’s nuclear ambitions. And so the democratically elected leader of Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, will have to weigh his choices, with the burden of history on his mind and the judgment of future generations in his thoughts. [snip]

Lincoln’s speech at Gettysburg will be studied as long as people care about the American experiment in self-government, or about political greatness. But Lincoln knew as well as anyone that speech has to be supported by deeds. It was the soldiers’ hard-won victory in the battle of Gettysburg that was the precondition for Lincoln’s remarks, and for America’s “new birth of freedom.” So Lincoln was telling the plain but deep truth when he emphasized, and gave priority to, “what they did here.” In politics, deeds matter. Speech, even the most eloquent and thoughtful speech, is not enough.

Benjamin Netanyahu understands this. Jewish history, and not just Jewish history, teaches this lesson. Netanyahu may well judge that he has to act to stop the Iranian regime from getting nuclear weapons. If he does, then Israel will fight. And Israel will be right.

  2. http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/al-franken-we-have-consider-extending-deadline-mandate_768090.html

Minnesota senator Al Franken, a Democrat, opens the door to a delay of the Obamacare individual mandate in an interview with Minnesota Public Radio.

    The Washington Post reports:

Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) says he would be open to a brief delay in the individual mandate if the problems with HealthCare.gov aren’t fixed by the end of the month, according to Minnesota Public Radio.

I think then we have to consider extending the deadline for the mandate, but let’s hope that doesn’t happen,” Franken told MPR.

Franken has so far been relatively quiet about potential changes to the health-care law, but he now joins a growing group of Senate Democrats in seats that could be targeted by the GOP in 2014 who are speaking up on the issue.

    http://www.nola.com/politics/index.ssf/2013/11/louisiana_poll_landrieu_cassidy_jindal_vitter.html

“U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu’s approval ratings within Louisiana dropped more than ten points to 47 percent in the last six months, likely due to her support of the Affordable Care Act, according to polling data released Thursday.

The poll was completed among Louisiana residents by Southern Media & Opinion Research’s Bernie Pinsonat, with funding from private subscribers. Pinsonat releases biannual surveys that track approval ratings for key Louisiana lawmakers and issues; the last one was released April 2.

“Senator Landrieu’s job performance has deteriorated since this spring,” the poll’s press release stated. “If (she) faced re-election in the next few months, her outlook for re-election would be highly unlikely.

In a hypothetical Senate race held today, Landrieu would lead Cassidy by seven points, according to the poll. But the data questioned whether she would be able to clinch the 50 percent necessary to win outright. With Tea Party-endorsed Republican Rob Maness receiving just under 10 percent in the poll, Cassidy could conceivably win in a runoff if he could claim all or most of Maness’ support for himself.

The poll indicates that Cassidy faces name recognition obstacles in his quest for the Landrieu’s senate seat. More than 44 percent of voters did not know or would not say how they felt about Cassidy’s performance initially; but after the poll described him as a sitting congressman and medical doctor, the unknowns dropped below 25 percent and his approval rating shot up to more than 50 percent. [snip]

Among the winners in the poll were U.S. Sen. David Vitter, R-La., who topped a list of likely 2015 gubernatorial candidates; state Treasurer John Kennedy, who had the highest overall approval rating; and supporters of the New Orleans area levee authority’s lawsuit against the oil and gas industry.

The outlook for Gov. Bobby Jindal also improved in the poll. His 42 percent approval rating, while still low, represented a nearly four point increase over his April 2013 numbers. It also contradicted numbers released in August by Public Policy Polling that showed the governor’s approval rating down at 28 percent. [snip]

Dardenne and Vitter also had high approval ratings, at 61 and 60 percent. President Barack Obama, with 38 percent, fared worst.

  4. Holy Smokes Admin, informative and blasts black holes in the anointed facade.

Awesome post that is irrefutably accurate.

  5. Very good post, admin, especially the Berglas and Ajami quotes.

Ajami calls the Nasser reign a matter of “political magic” but doesn’t point out that Nasser masterminded that magic by himself and actually had enough political smarts to navigate the bipolar world of that time pretty well, gaining goodies for his thrid-world people by playing the US off against the USSR. To that extent, Nasser does not resemble Obama.

To his credit, I see in the link that Ajami makes reference to Crowds and Power, which is more spot-on than talking just about Arab leaders. Hitler and East European leaders are examples that are just as good if not better.

In the end, the Obama story is a combination of the psychology of Obama partly expressed by Berglas, and the herd psychology expressed by Ajami.

To link these two – internal and external – components of Obama’s rise, there is the media: Add the media to the narcissist aspiring to herd leadership, and you’ve got the whole story of Obama.

Then, the inevitable question arises: What to do about it?

  6. The Scheme behind the Obamacare Fraud

Lies smooth the transition to a fundamental transformation of our health-care system.

Fraud can be so brazen it takes people’s breath away. But for a prosecutor tasked with proving a swindle or what federal law describes as a “scheme to defraud” the crucial thing is not so much the fraud. It is the scheme.

To be sure, it is the fraud the individual false statements, sneaky omissions, and deceptive practices that grabs our attention. As I’ve recounted in this space, President Obama repeatedly and emphatically vowed, “If you like your health-insurance plan, you can keep your health-insurance plan, period.” The incontrovertible record disclosures by the Obama administration in the Federal Register, representations by the Obama Justice Department in federal court proves that Obama’s promises were systematically deceitful. The president’s audacity is bracing, and not just because he lies so casually while looking us in the eye. Obama also insults our intelligence. It is one thing to tuck evidence of falsehood into a few paragraphs on page 34,552 of a dusty governmental journal no one may ever look at. It is quite something else to announce it in a legal brief publicly filed in a case of intense interest to millions of Americans aggrieved by Obamacare’s religious-liberty violations. To be so bold is to say, in effect, “The public is too ignorant and disengaged to catch me, and the press is too deep in my pocket to raise alarms.”

Still, to show that politicians lie is like pointing out that it gets dark at night. The lie, the fraud, does not tell us why they lied in this instance. The fraud does not tell us what the stakes are. To know that, we must understand the scheme the design.

The point of showing that Obama is carrying out a massive scheme to defraud one that certainly would be prosecuted if committed in the private sector is not to agitate for a prosecution that is never going to happen. It is to demonstrate that there is logic to the lies. There is an objective that the fraud aims to achieve. The scheme is the framework within which the myriad deceptions are peddled. Once you understand the scheme, once you can put the lies in a rational context, you understand why fraud was the president’s only option and why “If you like your plan, you can keep your plan” barely scratches the surface of Obamacare’s deceit.

In 2003, when he was an ambitious Illinois state senator from a hyper-statist district, Obama declared:

  9. It’s a way for the Obama administration to avoid confronting Iran, and to buy time to acclimate the world to accepting a nuclear Iran.
    ——————
The deal Obama is cutting with Iran is no different than Chamberlains peace in our time. It is the kind of peace that is prelude to war. But, when/if the deal gets cut, Obama will be canonized as the Messiah who as solved the riddle of the Middle East. Oh, there will be war. But clever Obama is betting that will happen after he leaves office, so his adoring big media enablers can blame it on his successor. Big media will brook no serious criticism of their first black president. And the sheeple they bamboozle will throw confetti, and call him the one. If they do not go down with him, then the problem will never be solved. Big media IS the root of the problem.

  10. Never before in history has such a massive expansion of government bureaucracy and largesse been met with such nearly universal rejection by the American people. Within the bubble occupied by the editorial board of the New York Times, this equation does not compute, and it has clearly caused what passes for their minds to become completely unhinged. As the Obamacare trainwreck rolls on, expect the screeching to get worse.

  11. This whole to-do over the Obamacare rollout has brought to mind an incident I once witnessed in a hospital (it seems I saw something similar in a movie).

The incident had a horrific side to it at the time; but I laugh about it now.

There was a mother and her little boy, who had to take a shot for I don’t know what. The little boy didn’t like needles and was very apprehensive about what was going to happen to him.

The nurse did her best to calm the boy down by telling him the shot was good for him and would make him feel better. That didn’t calm the kid down, so she swore that it wouldn’t hurt. Mommy concurred.

It was an intravenous shot, so the nurse had to find a vein by putting a tourniquet on the kid’s arm. That did nothing but build up the kid’s apprehension, and he began to cry. That tight thing on his arm hurt already….

Then the nurse repeated that it wasn’t going to hurt and said, “Look, I’ll do it slowly.”

The doctor wasn’t far away and he turned in alarm when he heard the nurse’s words: everyone knows that the trick here is not to look and for the nurse to jab the needle in as quickly as possible.

Before the doctor could intervene, the damage was done: The nurse began leaning into the boy’s arm with the needle; the boy let out a yell, pulled his arm away, struggled out of his Mom’s grips, and ran past the doctor out of the room with Mommy running after him.

The needle fell on the floor and broke, the doctor quickly rebuked the nurse, who could only shoot back “Kids!!”; then the doctor went out in pursuit of his patient.

I don’t know what happened after that; but the whole scene brings me back to this effort to repeal the PPACA:

Healthcare in the US was in bad need of a fix in 2010. The PPACA was what the doctor ordered.

Whether or not you like the doctor or his order, the nurse in charge of administering this necessary shot in the arm is an incompetent lackadaisical fool and his appointed henchmen, who told us all along that the PPACA would be good for us and make us feel better, and it wouldn’t hurt.

Now, a lot of us have suddenly realized that there is indeed some pain to be endured; we’re breaking ranks and running for the exit.

But my question is: Where does that leave the doctor? Was his prescription all fucked up? Should he be blamed for the nurse’s incompetence? And, in the end, Where does it leave the little boy?

My answer to the questions about the doctor and his prescription is generally “No”. That’s why my concern is not to join up with the other kiddies and run out of the room, but to take a look at the doctor’s prescription, criticize it if I can, and then bring the kid back to take his shot.

I’m betting that that is exactly Hillary’s attitude right now.

  13. The sheeple would not approve. But they would be afraid to speak out. The totalitarian left bludgeons them into silence if they utter a peep. Oh they wanted their first black president, and now that that little delusion has come crashing down on their widdle heads, they hide under the bed from shit like this. My feelings on Christie are not secret. However, it would be refreshing to see him labaste these black racist cowards–and I think he would when they behave in this manner. Would the black extortionists–Sharpton and Jackson respond? Not unless their is money in it. Big media would give them an audience, because big media designated them as the official spokesmen for the black community. Yet another reason why big media must be rejected entirely as a source of truth. Every day, big media people bury the country, in order to aggrandize their 401 k programs.

UCLA Prof accused of racist “micro-aggression” for correcting student grammar

Posted by William A. Jacobson Friday, November 22, 2013 at 10:42am

Grammar is bad and racist, right?

That’s the accusation by some students at UCLA who have accused a professor of creating a racially hostile environment through aggressive grammar corrections.

Seriously, it’s called “micro-aggression,” as David Thompson reports:

More crushing injustice on campus, this time at the UCLA Graduate School of Education & Information Studies:

In a letter sent to colleagues in the department after the sit-in, [Professor] Rust said students in the demonstration described grammar and spelling corrections he made on their dissertation proposals as a form of “micro-aggression.” “I have attempted to be rather thorough on the papers and am particularly concerned that they do a good job with their bibliographies and citations, and these students apparently don’t feel that is appropriate,” Rust said in the letter.

You see, by highlighting spelling and punctuation errors, the professor is contributing to an “unsafe climate for students of colour.” For those of you interested in the policing of tiny tragedies, “micro-aggressions” are defined by one official report as,

Subtle verbal and nonverbal insults directed toward non-whites, often done automatically and unconsciously. They are layered insults based on one’s race, gender, class, sexuality, language, immigration status, phenotype, accent, or surname.

    However,

It is not clear whether any workable definition of discriminatory conduct is capable of capturing every such microaggression.

The indefinite and unilateral nature of the term does raise one or two problems. As Ricochet’s Tim Groseclose notes,

I’m pretty sure that by writing this blog post I have engaged in a microaggression.

And by drawing further attention to this story and its comedic possibilities, it’s very likely that your mild-mannered host is also oppressing somebody, somewhere, in ways that aren’t quite clear. And don’t you get all high and mighty either. By reading this you’re almost certainly complicit too. I denounce your wickedness. Now report to the correction booth. Three hours, maximum setting.

  14. Is Peggy this smart? Doubtful. Then were is she getting the following insight–one that unmasks the shill game which takes place in both political parties, to cover up the truth which is that the presidents we get are installed–not chosen by the people. When you have people like Cruz, who refuse to play the game, I doubt the would settle for the role of designated loser, so the elites can install their man, i.e. fatso. But in the democrat party, the elites are trolling for an opponent or two for Hillary. There is Warren of course, but there will be others too. One of them will be Martin O’Malley. And what they will tell these shills is if you fight hard this time, and lose graciously, then four or eight years from now you will be feted–which by the way is never really true. Like I say, Peggy is not smart enough to figure this out, so the only thing I can figure is she picked up this insight at one of those cocktail parties, she hangs out at, forever trolling for stories, and what to think.

    ObamaCare Is the Story
The Wall Street Journal: November 22, 2013

Republicans should stop taking the boob bait of the press. The story of the day is ObamaCare and the pain it is causing the Democrats. That story is not being fully explored. We are not seeing pieces on Captol Hill Democrats rethinking their four-year-long lockstep backing of a program that is failing massively and before the nation’s eyes. I’m not seeing “Pelosi Agonistes: The Speaker Who Said ‘We Have to Pass It to Find Out What’s In It’ Has Some Regrets.” We’re not seeing “Democratic House Group Meets, Anguishes, Decides on New Path.” We’re not reading “Dem Sens From Red States Bolt: ‘It Only Takes One to Start a Jailbreak.’”

The focus of political journalism now should be on what’s happening on the Democratic side, because ObamaCare is a Democratic program. They bought it, they built it, what now?

Democrats aren’t talking about that, at least on the record, and none of them colorfully. They’re in the domestic political/policy debacle of their lives and their reaction is discretion. Some of them are loyal, some of them are kind. Some of them think in terms of blind team-ism. Some of them fear reprisal from the party’s enforcers. Some are stupid and don’t understand the fix they’re in. But many of them are simply disciplined.

What are we seeing on the Republican side? Nonstop taking of the press’s boob bait. “Potential Christie Rival Says He’s Not Conservative,” “GOP Readies for 2016 Battle Reflecting Party Divisions,” “GOPer: ‘Moderation the Path,’” “GOPer: Why Do Women Hate Us?” “Establishment Hates Grass Roots,” “Grass Roots Hates Establishment,” “Libertarians Hate Everyone,” “Everyone Hates Them,” “Republican: Even I Hate Me.”

Someone should tell Republicans that the story now, next week and this winter is ObamaCare, not 2016. It is what to do about ObamaCare. 2016 is not the subject now, it is a changing of the subject.

Is the press beginning to focus on the Democrats and 2016? To a small degree. Mostly they’re fixed on Hillary Clinton. Someone said on cable this morning that there’s the Elizabeth Warren story, she’s being mentioned. Somebody else said Sen. Warren’s in the news as a possible contender because the press needs a 2016 story on the Democratic side, it’s no fun to cover a coronation. True enough. But even truer is this: Hillary needs a fight. She has to prove she can win, not glide. She needs someone to defeat. Democrats understand Mrs. Clinton’s eventual future primary win will be tarnished, even clouded, if no one serious gets in to do battle with her. She has to appear to have fought for it. So they’re in search of a few interesting contenders who can fight hard and lose well.

  15. Wbboei, we’re all “micro agressionists” now. Correcting grammar at a graduate school for EDUCATION is a now a problem and racist? The problem in our view is that education graduate students need their grammar corrected.

  16. If Peggy wants to know who is tearing the Republican Party to shreds, and destabilizing the base, all she needs to do is focus on three miscreants: Rove, McConnell, and Mr. X. Lest we forget, McConnell is the one who vowed to give the Tea Party a bloody nose, while he, his staffers, and ex-staffers now lobbyist run their little three card monte game on the American People. McConnell is an ungainly, senator-fog-horn-leg horn, goof ball.

  17. A color coded map accompanies this story at USAToday:

    http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/11/21/affordability-obamacare-plans-varies-state-county/3641821/

Sweeping differences in health care exchange pricing among states and counties is leading to sticker shock for some middle-class consumers and others who aren’t eligible for subsidies under the Affordable Care Act.

The average prices for the most popular plans are twice as high in the most expensive states as those with the lowest average prices, according to a USA TODAY analysis of data for 34 states using the federal health insurance exchange.

PPOs, the most popular type of health care plan, carry monthly premiums that range from an average of $819 a month in the most expensive state to $437 in the least expensive. Plans on the federal and state exchanges are grouped into four categories that cover 60% to 90% of out-of-pocket costs. USA TODAY looked at the pricing of PPOs and HMOs across these bronze, silver, gold and platinum categories.

The premiums for bronze-level plans are generally the least expensive, but “the deductibles are simply not affordable,” says Laura Stack, a former financial analyst looking for full-time work and using her 401k to pay for health insurance. “Many will not be able to afford the per person deductibles before insurance begins to pay. What are you really paying for?

  18. Lightening strikes twice in one column?

Peggy Noonan must have another source besides the first one.

    ———————————————-

A final word on Democrats on the Hill and ObamaCare. In the past month they’ve dealt with the disaster through talking points. That’s what parties in duress do, have kids in the back room write press releases based on the pushback guidance of combative consultants. Those talking points have gone, more or less, from “heavy demand caused the website to crash” to “the website will soon be fixed” to “every big program has bumps at the beginning” to “wait till the American people see their benefits!” to “not that many policies have been cancelled” to “not that many premiums have gone up” to “not that many people will lose their doctors.

Not one of the talking points has worked. Because incoming data, day by day, kept washing over them and sinking them.

The new talking point is that ObamaCare was damaged and fell due to Republican “sabotage.” Republicans on Capitol Hill refused to vote for it, refused to like it and support it. They tried repeatedly to repeal it and defund it.

And all this is true. But it is not sabotage. This is opposition. The Republicans thought the ACA a bad piece of work, a bad bill that would make things worse, not better.

Still, Republicans should take the sabotage charge seriously, because it is not a claim aimed at the consideration of the American people but of history. Democrats are admitting with this charge that ObamaCare is a disaster. They no longer want to argue that it is not. They are arguing that it is a disaster brought about by Republicans. That will be what they argue for history and feed their journalistic historians.

As I remember it, the Democrats on Capitol Hill got the bill they wanted. They were heady, back in the majority, with a new and popular president, and they didn’t much care about GOP support. They wanted the credit: It was their bill. They wrote it in a way no Republican could support. And they got no Republican support. When Paul Ryan, who had emerged as the Republican point man, attempted to come forward with ideas, he was rebuffed.

The new president—and this was a key historic moment—decided not to act on the accumulated presidential wisdom of the ages, which is: Get the other party in on all big things. Give them a stake in it, use them for cover, show you have bipartisan juice, that you are truly national and not only the leader of one party, show you can wield your mighty power across the aisles. Get them bragging they passed it, with your leadership. Make them co-own it so that when certain parts don’t work, and certain parts won’t, they have deep motives to help you fix it.

Instead, a perfect storm of misjudgment, immaturity and lack of historical perspective, and a perfect storm of shortsighted selfishness (it’s all ours, it’s not even a little bit yours) brought forth a perfect storm of a health-care disaster

  19. Shakespeare said: first kill all the lawyers.

Today, the proper priority would be consultants then lawyers.

Ed Gillespe is a republican consultant.

He specializing in collecting fat fees for losing elections.

He collected a cool $36 million from the Romney campaign.

And to ensure proper diversification of the political risks

    His partner is a democrat.

Wherever you see Ed, you know he is the winner,

    And donors are the loser

Yet the whole silly process will go on–until it crashes.

  20. Wow. This is an excellent post, admin. Obama is best described as a t-u-r-d. The only area in which I differ from you is with Bill Clinton. Although I once felt much differently about him, I think Bill’s empathy has been used much like Barack’s chaos. Some who show empathy do so because they know it makes them look good. Empathy that emanates from the mind is different from empathy that emanates from
the heart. I think that Bill’s empathy is not always altruistic, but at least he seems to have some. Obama, on the other hand, is thr flim flam man that you have always indicated. His actions prove it.

  21. Something stinks to high Heaven, and too many red flags are going up to ignore them.

The red flags for me are all the failed ‘adventures’ Obama has pulled that have either gone bankrupt or fly out the ‘window’ of no return.

We all know Barry is corrupt and so are his closest advisers.

Think of all the solar companies he lavished with millions of our tax dollars, that soon – went bankrupt.

Millions seemingly went out the window and people just look sad and hang their heads.

But money doesn’t just disappear, someone, somewhere down the line gets it.

And as posted above in this thread, a new one comes down the pike:

—> The Obama administration announced Friday it will lose $139 million on a loan to struggling electric car maker Fisker Automotive Inc. after selling part of the loan to a private investor that immediately took the company into bankruptcy.

What if all these FAILED schemes of Obama and his gangster friends are just a Chicago money laundering scheme, putting money for favors in the pockets of Obama swindlers, to make life glorious for the Obama’s and his friends, during and after his 8 years of bamboozlement?

  22. Today the deal will be made to allow Iran, among other things, to enrich uranium which
is essentially all but telling them you will get your bomb …, just not as quickly as they would lke. With Kerry ,Jarrett, Posers what did anyone expect? Bibi must strike now! Begin would never allow this weak President to roll Israel over. He took,on Regan and bombed Iraq”s nuclear plant saving the world from what would have be a nuclear Iraq. Shame again on all a Jews who purport to support Israel but keep supporting
Obama. Hillary needs to say whst she said in the primariesas well .

  23. The Obama Dimocrat filibuster ploy is a sign of weakness:

    http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-11-22/democrats-give-up-2014-with-the-filibuster.html

But what’s perhaps most interesting is the light this sheds on current Democratic thinking. Yes, obviously the Democrats are mad about Republican obstructionism, but they were mad three weeks ago, and they didn’t abolish the filibuster then.

One way to interpret this is that they are confident that they will retain their majority in 2014, and so they have no immediate need to worry about minority rights. But it would be insane for Reid to have grown more confident in the last six weeks. No, I think that this shows the opposite: They think it’s very likely that they will lose their Senate majority in 2014. They are essentially writing off the last two years of Obama’s presidency, which means getting as much done as possible right now. They are going to spend the next year packing as many liberal justices and appointees onto the courts and various bureaucracies as they can, knowing that much of this legacy will live on beyond Obama.

Is that a wise strategy? Reid will probably rue his decision if the Republican Party takes the White House in 2016, because Republicans are likely to stuff the Supreme Court with as many young, hale and very conservative justices as they can find. But I’d imagine that right now, to someone in his shoes, 2016 feels a very long way off.

We don’t even think that the courts are necessarily going to be packed by Obama. Why? Because the “blue slip” policy still holds in the committees and that allows Republicans from a nominee’s state to block the nominee in committee. This rule could be easily overturned but that is a power that individual senators will be loath to surrender. First because they can control their state fiefdoms by blocking candidates; Second because the “blue slip” policy also forces the President of their own party to get their OK before nominating someone to a court in their particular state. Personal interests of senators (who are already realizing the epic error they have made) might be sufficient to prevent an overturning of the blue slip policy. If the policy is overturned the problems for Obama won’t come in 2016 but in 2014 because of this filibuster killing.

  24. I have been watching a show on Cognac by the Las Vegas Network.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=bNFFwWsIxfI

At roughly the 30 minute mark we see a bottle called perfection that sells at Andre’s restaurant.

It sells for the modest price of $675 per glass.

Just the thing that NGSOB Barack would order on the taxpayer’s tab.

Beyond the obvious however I did learn something interesting.

Once cognac is distilled and placed in the oak barrels

3 yrs. for VS; 4 yrs for VSOP; and 8 yrs for XO.

It evaporates at the rate of 3% per year

Hence the need to top it off each year

The missing 3% is called “the angel’s share”

Sort of like Barack’s policy on taxation

Only in his case the angels took their share,

Then they got drunk and took everything you own,

Meanwhile, Barack and Mo being noveau riche

Have their vulgar way of showing they have arrived

They dip their cigars in the brandy snifter

Which, as the expert on the video points out

Is an excellent way to spoil good cognac.

No different than everything else he touches.

    Yea. That is their thinking.

It is a case of “Carpe diem”.

(Note: Carpe diem are the words that begin the last line of a Latin poem by Quintus Horatius Flaccus (65 BC – 8 BC), more widely known as Horace. The poem is in Horace’s Odes Book 1, number 11. The phrase is popularly translated as “seize the day” and has become an aphorism.)

    “Journalism.”

If today’s extremist rhetoric sounds familiar, that’s because it is eerily, poignantly similar to the vitriol aimed squarely at John F. Kennedy during his presidency.

And just like today, Texans were leading what some of them saw as a moral crusade.

To find the very roots of the tea party of 2013, just go back to downtown Dallas in 1963, back to the months and weeks leading to the Kennedy assassination. It was where and when a deeply angry political polarization, driven by a band of zealots, burst wide open in America.

This is a perfectly valid train of thought if you ignore the facts. Oswald was a commie and Texas a Democrat stronghold in the early 1960s.

What’s most irritating, however, is the notion that harsh political rhetoric is a relatively new thing in the United States. Those who believe this to be true might want to read up on the Jackson/Adams election of 1828 or check out some of what detractors used to say about Abraham Lincoln.

And rhetoric doesn’t kill presidents. Leftists who don’t like people with differing opinions do.

  28. What are we to make of this concerted effort by big media to cast the Tea Party as the villain for everything bad that has ever happened throughout our history?

If you assume, as I do, that organizations like the New York Times and the Washington Post are the voice of the elite class, then the explanation become rather obvious.

The elites now control most of the national wealth and the Middle Class has fared badly. POLITICS AS USUAL IS A ZERO SUM GAME, FAVORING THE ELITES.

The tea party represents the canary in the cave, which tells the miners get out now, if you remain in this black hole thinking everything is fine, you will perish.

The elites and big media cannot afford to allow that reality to sink in. That is one of the many reasons they supported Obama. It fosters the illusion that anyone can be president, and whoever wins will work for the people.

Obama has been the cruelest joke on the ignorant and uninformed–all 52% of them.

  29. Can’t Get Right: Obamacare Issues Force Adminstration to Extend Enrollment Deadline

Amid lingering problems with the healthcare.gov website, the Obama administration has chosen to extend the enrollment deadline to December 23rd. The original deadline was set for December 15th in order to allow a 2 week processing period to prevent gaps in medical coverage and for Americans to have health care coverage starting on January 1.

So now instead of having a 2 week period of time to ensure applications are processed, there will only be 8 days.

  30. Senate Republicans Can Retaliate. Will They?
Friday, November 22nd, 2013 by Daniel Horowitz and is filed under Blog

Who can blame Harry Reid for pulling the nuclear option, eliminating the filibuster on judicial nominees? He has punched Senate Republicans in the face all year and they have failed to respond. In fact, Senate Republicans have turned around and fought their fellow Republicans in the House, jamming them with bad legislation which they helped Harry Reid pass out of the Senate.

Throughout the past few years, aside for a few judicial nominees, Republicans have been willing to grant Democrats a super-majority on major liberal initiatives. They helped Reid pass amnesty. They gave him the votes for the massive farm/food stamp bill. They were all in the tank for the deceptively-named Violence Against Women Act. They recently gave him the 60 votes for ENDA. And most importantly, they stood shoulder to shoulder with Reid against House Republicans during the most important time when conservatives were united behind defunding Obamacare.

So why would Harry Reid fear reprisal from Republicans? What would stop him from pulling the nuclear option?

When he threatened the nuclear option earlier this year, Republicans agreed to let through the most radical nominees for Obama’s second term cabinet. Reid figured he’d go all the way this week.

And based on Mitch McConnell’s reaction, his wager was correct. Instead of fighting fire with fire, McConnell is basically saying we can’t do anything until after the elections:

“The solution to this problem is an election,” McConnell said at a Thursday press conference after the Senate voted to go nuclear, changing the rules of the filibuster.

“The solution to this problem’s at the ballot box,” McConnell said. “We look forward to having a great election in November 2014.” […]

“I don’t think this is a time to be talking about a reprisal,” he said. “I think it’s at time to be sad about what’s been done to the United States Senate.” [Daily Caller]

I’m sure Harry Reid is scared to death.

There is one simple thing Republicans can do to retaliate. They can start by ending the Democrat super-majority on legislative issues. They can easily pledge to filibuster every piece of legislation and deny all requests for unanimous consent until the rules change is overturned.

How would Harry Reid respond to a complete shutdown of the Senate? Would he abolish the filibuster even for legislation? Let him try. But for now, he has nothing to fear from just eliminating the filibuster on judges because he knows Republicans will not retaliate. Reid knows that there is not a single issue where McCain, Corker, Graham, and Alexander will now withhold support simply because they were stiffed with the nuclear option.

Just an hour after Reid blew up the Senate, Republicans rewarded him by not objecting to the first unanimous consent. Every day, standing committees need consent to conduct hearings. This is a prime opportunity to grind the Senate to a halt until Reid changes his ways.

Harry Reid has identified a soft target. And until we change GOP leadership in the Senate, he will keep punching.

  31. McConnell is right when he says:

The solution to the problem is at the ballot box.

I quite agree, with the following modification:

The solution to the problem is at the ballot box—IN THE PRIMARY.

  32. Dangerous Times: A Looming Strategic Disaster in the Middle East.

If you think ObamaCare is bad, just wait till you hear the new “peace” agreement that is due to be imposed on the Middle East over the coming weeks. Even if it works, a giant if, it will make the world much more dangerous:

    1. Iran will have nuclear weapons, or it will be balanced right on the edge — within one month or less to make nukes.

    2. Saudi Arabia and Egypt will go nuclear, to balance Iran.

    3. America’s role as a guarantor of peace will be blown, crushed by Obama’s betrayal of Israel and the Arabs. America’s nuclear umbrella, which has kept world from major war since 1949, was always based on trust. Once you blow that trust, the umbrella disappears.

    4. The coming victory of Bashar Assad in Syria, supported by Hizb’allah and Iran, will forge the much-feared Shii’ite Crescent that surrounds Israel and directly threatens Arab nations like Egypt, Iraq and the Arabian Peninsula (Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states).

    5. Russia will replace America as a more trustworthy major power in the region, including the Eastern Mediterranean.

This is not a framework for peace. It is an unstable Rube Goldberg contraption that could lead to total war in a matter of weeks. It will never have the long-term stability of the Egypt-Israel peace treaty of the last forty years. On top of all those balancing acts, Israel will be driven back to borders that are much more vulnerable to Muslim terrorism. World conquest is a basic premise of Islam, and it includes Europe, Russia, and America.

The emerging agreement, which will be greeted by the Euro-American socialist media as peace on earth, will be much more like Munich, 1938 — a temporary truce on the way to much more dangerous times.

  33. This was exactly what I stated(albeit not as eloquently). Israel is now screwed unless Bibi, like the great Begin, has the courage to defy the world and more importantly fulfill his obligation to defend Israel against what will be a genocidal Iranian regime if they are permitted to continue their quest for nuclear weapons.

  34. Just when you think it can’t get worse with BO…yes it can. Well this new nuclear arms treaty with Iran will put BO on a new path to a legacy since it seems that his Obamacare legacy is blowing up. What a way to distract the masses.

What a joke. Plutonium for peace!

Administrator is right. BO can’t be trusted by friend or foe. He simply can’t be trusted and neither can Iran!

  35. John Kerry is on TV. He just said that this treaty will make Israel safer. He’s praising the Iranian gov for coming to the table to negotiate. They worked hard to reach an agreement.

I’ll bet Iran is laughing their butts off right now and dancing all over the country.

    Kerry makes me sick!

  36. Kerry just said that “We believe it is the sanctions (that BO put in place) that have brought us to this negotiation.”

Kerry said the “The purpose is to require Iran to prove the peaceful nature of it’s program.”

    WHAT!!!!!

  37. Kerry: “It is our responsibility to be firmly committed to diplomacy.”

And I might ask, what is this lizard thing Kerry does as he speaks? He keeps sticking his tongue out from time to time.

  38. So are we going to end up with a nuclear arms race among the Middle East countries when Iran gets their bomb? How comforting is that to know that the terrorist will most likely have access to a nuclear bomb in several countries!

Has our American credibility been damaged beyond repair?

  39. Why didn’t Obama and Kerry at least ask for the release of the pastor Iran has been holding when we agreed to lift some sanctions. Iran gets some sanctions lifted and we get…? Oh, right, we get to have trust that Iran will be telling the truth and holding off on their nuclear program or only going forward with the part for peaceful purposes.

  40. We The People blog had a link to this News Busters article about Tingles’ lunatic-like raving and ranting about Republicans being so nasty to Obama. As we know, the more worked up Chris gets, the more saliva his salivary glands produce. As can be seen in the video, spit was flying as Chris yelled and screamed his distorted thoughts and delusions over the air waves. The criticism Obama has been receiving lately is potentially hazardous to Tingle’s health. He is in danger of drowning in his own spit. Others around him are endanger of being hit by flying wads of spit, as well. The venomous spitting cobra of India, cannot hold a candle to Chris.

“Chris Matthews: ‘Vulture’ Conservatives Commit ‘Verbal Terror’ on ‘Great’ Obama”
    By Scott Whitlock | November 21, 2013 | 16:51

“Chris Matthews appears to have a Mad Libs-style list of the worst insults he hurls at conservative. On Wednesday, he chose “verbal terror” to smear everyone on the right who disagrees with all of the “great things” Barack Obama wants to do. The Hardball anchor opened his show by hyperbolically warning, “Political armageddon!” According to Matthews, the fight between the President and conservatives is not a conflict of ideas.

Rather, “it’s a battle between a President who wants to do great things — extend health care to the tens of millions of working people, many of them poor, ending two wars in Afghanistan” and an “almost totally negative force arrayed and barking against him, a campaign of verbal terror and negativity aimed at denying tens of millions decent health care.” [See video below. MP3 audio here.]

In the simplistic world of an MSNBC host, “it’s a strange, unbalanced battle between a man who wants to do great things and an enemy aimed at ensuring he does not.”

    snip

“MATTHEWS: “Let Me Start” tonight with this. The dirty little secret of American politics today is that this battle between President Obama and his enemies is not a contest of achievement.

No, it’s a battle between a president who wants to do great things — extend health care to the tens of millions of working people, many of them poor, ending two wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and preventing a third war with Iran — and almost totally negative force arrayed and barking against him, a campaign of verbal terror and negativity aimed at denying tens of millions decent health care, denying immigrants the chance to be come citizens, denying people of other sexual orientations and identities an equal chance to provide for themselves, obviously, also denying marriage equality.

It’s a strange, unbalanced battle between a man who wants to do great things and an enemy aimed at ensuring he does not. It’s a tale of a political party that once freed the slaves and battled the monopolies, built the transcontinental railroad and created scientific agriculture to the land grant colleges reduced now to playing jackal in the moonlight. Howard Fineman’s the editorial director of the Huffington Post Media Group and an MSNBC political analyst and Jonathan Capehart is the illustrious opinion writer for “The Washington Post” and an MSNBC contributor.

Howard, I painted this in strong terms and strong black and white, but I have to tell you, I don’t see a Republican agenda except to destroy Obama. Let’s go with this. The President’s enemies have tried to destroy, kill, defund, block or destroy everything in his program.

The President, in contrast, has made it his goal to fight to extend rights to minorities, the uninsured and the oppressed. His opponents are trying to take away these rights”

  42. It’s an awful deal! Kerry sold out Israel!
    =====

Fars News Chief Claims Deal Lifts All Consequential Sanctions, Recognizes Iran’s “Right” To Enriched Uranium

Kerry completely sold Israel and everyone down the river, if this is the deal. Iran doesn’t have to do anything more than “postpone work” for six months, if we are reading this right.

These tweets are from the General Director of Fars News Agency, the government media in Iran:

  43. The Grounds for Impeachment

Every American is responsible for our freedom.Every American has a duty to protect and defend the most precious document in human history, the Constitution.

Where are the defenders of our Republic.

“Forbes: The Impeachment Option Would Be Well-Deserved” By M. Northrop Buechner, Via Political Outacast

Obama’s Disdain For The Constitution Means We Risk Losing Our Republic

Since President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law, he has changed it five times. Most notably, he suspended the employer mandate last summer. This is widely known, but almost no one seems to have grasped its significance.

The Constitution authorizes the President to propose and veto legislation. It does not authorize him to change existing laws. The changes Mr. Obama ordered in Obamacare, therefore, are unconstitutional. This means that he does not accept some of the limitations that the Constitution places on his actions. We cannot know at this point what limitations, if any, he does accept.

By changing the law based solely on his wish, Mr. Obama acted on the principle that the President can rewrite laws andsince this is a principlenot just this law, but any law. After the crash of Obamacare, many Congressmen have implored the President to change the individual mandate the same way he had changed the employer mandate, that is, to violate the Constitution again.

The main responsibility the Constitution assigns to the President is to faithfully execute the Laws. If the President rejects this job, if instead he decides he can change or ignore laws he does not like, then what?

The time will come when Congress passes a law and the President ignores it. Or he may choose to enforce some parts and ignore others (as Mr. Obama is doing now). Or he may not wait for Congress and issue a decree (something Mr. Obama has done and has threatened to do again).

Mr. Obama has not been shy about pointing out his path. He has repeatedly made clear that he intends to act on his own authority. “I have the power and I will use it in defense of the middle class,” he has said. “We’re going to do everything we can, wherever we can, with or without Congress.” There are a number of names for the system Mr. Obama envisions, but representative government is not one of them.

If the President can ignore the laws passed by Congress, of what use is Congress? The President can do whatever he chooses. Congress can stand by and observe. Perhaps they might applaud or jeer. But in terms of political power, Congress will be irrelevant. Probably, it will become a kind of rubber-stamp or debating society. There are many such faux congresses in tyrannies throughout history and around the globe.

  44. Barack Obama: Iran Should Be Able to Access ‘Peaceful’ Nuclear Energy (Video)

Barack Obama would make Neville Chamberlain blush.

During his Saturday night televised announcement Obama said Iran has a right to “peaceful” nuclear energy.

  46. Obama has no hope to fix fractured America
    By Michael Goodwin November 24, 2013 | 5:58am

As he climbed the political heap, a young Barack Obama roused audiences with promises to unite the nation. He was a Senate candidate in 2004 when he told the Democratic national convention, “There is not a liberal America and a conservative America. There is a United States of America.”

In 2007, he declared early in his presidential run that “I don’t want to pit red America against blue America. I want to be the president of the United States of America.”

A year later, after he won the Iowa caucus, he promised, “We are not a collection of red states and blue states. We are the United States of America.”

And on the November night in 2008 when he was elected president, he insisted his victory proved “we have never been just a collection of individuals or a collection of red states and blue states. We are, and always will be, the United States of America.”

Oh, well, that was then. Reading those “yes we can” speeches now is like gawking at museum relics. Obama’s promise to heal a polarized nation has proven to be as big a lie as his promise that you can keep your health insurance.

America is now so divided and demoralized that there is no hope Obama can fix it. As last week proved, he doesn’t even pretend to try any more.

On the same day that he supported his party’s move to neuter Republican power in the Senate by restricting the filibuster, 37 news organizations complained that the White House was acting like the Soviet Union in manipulating public opinion.

Journalists argued that Obama aides block news photographers from official events, then use government workers to take pictures and videos of him for social-media sites.

“This is just like Tass,” a New York Times photographer told his paper, referring to the Soviet propaganda arm. “It’s like government-controlled use of the public image of the president.”

Meanwhile, Obama met with a gaggle of far-left pundits to drum up support as he battles record-low polls.

The developments are snapshots in the collapse of a presidency.

  47. Op-Ed: Obama’s Iran Moves Could Start World War III

According to a recent news report, President Barack Obama has for over a year secretly conducted negotiations with Iran (through his adviser Valerie Jarrett) and the Geneva talks on Iranian nukes now appear to be just a facade providing international legitimacy for Obama’s secret deal with Iran.

Secretary of State John Kerry’s contradictory criticism of Israeli objections to that deal only suggests more bad faith by the Obama administration. Kerry claims that Israel has been kept fully apprised of the negotiations with Iran, but then argues that Israel has never seen the terms of the proposed deal with Iran and therefore shouldn’t question it.

The Obama administration apparently wants to present the nuclear deal as a fait accompli that Israel must simply accept as is.

George Soros Convenes Criminals to Advise De Blasio on Not Fighting Crime

Welcome to the new New York where George Soros finances a group of criminals to demand that cops leave them alone.

A group of 50 ex-cons, junkies and chronic vagrants gathered at a Manhattan “Think Tank” Thursday to describe what they thought the NYPD should be doing to make their lives easier.

The felonious forum outlined a clear “get-soft-on-crime” vision.

“I like the idea of ending stop and frisk. That was the first thing that was totally there for me,” opined Mikell Green-Grand, a 49-year-old former jailbird who has convictions for grand larceny and identity theft.

Arthur Castillo, 38 who has been convicted for possessing stolen property and assault said he would be much obliged if the cops just left him alone to do his thing.

“Cops won’t leave us alone!” he said. “Newly released prisoners are watched by the police and a lot of us don’t feel we have an opportunity to readapt to normal life because we are treated as criminals even though we are free.”

The event, which was held in Morningside Heights, was hosted by an advisory group called Talking Transitions, run by liberal billionaire investment magnate George Soros.

The goal was to offer de Blasio tips on “policing, corrections, parole policies and more.”

Since Talking Transitions is actually advising de Blasio during his preparations for assuming office, the opinions posited by the panel of crooks and deadbeats will be relayed to him and could have real policy effects.

  50. New US sanctions would spell ’end of deal’ to limit nuclear program: Iran foreign minister

Iran will not honor the nuclear agreement it just signed with the United States and other world powers if Congress imposes new sanctions

Iran is now spiking the ball on the head of the U.S. Congress.

    ………………

There you go, Obama has boxed everyone into a corner…well done muppet.

  51. It speaks volumes when Obama says that the cure for the failure of his signature legislation, Obamcare, is rebranding and reintroduction. It points to the errant perspective of his approach to politics. He believe that you can sell a shit product if you have the right marketing program. In his case, that also applies to a shit candidate, meaning him. Since he has proven the former twice, with the aid and comfort of big media, he logically assumes that the latter will also occur and in the fulsomeness of time the American People will come to accept an inferior product endorsed by a messiah. He is right of course. Half the American People are that stupid. Let me say it straight out. Branding is for cattle. It is a marketing tool. But no marketing tool, however compelling it may seem at first blush, is a substitute for consumer experience. In the words of an old friend, a marketing guru of the first order, Jerry Della Femina, Obamacare is a bad product and no marketing plan devised by man can change that. The only hope Obama has is brute power through the IRS and the proven ability of RINOS to fold their tent when it comes to confronting him, and the proven tendency of big media to leap to his defense, and promote the racist meme. Big media is estopped from criticizing him. They installed him.

  52. Iran will not honor the nuclear agreement it just signed with the United States and other world powers if Congress imposes new sanctions
    ——————–

Might as well pass the sanctions–if they can.

Whether or not they do, Iran will not honor the nuclear agreement.

Passing new sanctions would weaken Obama.

It would show the ignoranti and those that don’t care that he is acting against the will of the people.

As in:” Pick the target (Obama), freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”

  53. Krauthammer calls this Iranian deal

    1. absurdly asymetric

    2. surrendering American power in the Middle East

    3. altering the balance of power to Iran’s advantage.

Obama has thrown Israel under the bus.

Watch liberal American Jews embrace it, as they did Chamberlain.

Big media will call in contrary views of the deal

They will position themselves as the final arbiter of its costs and benefits

And they will try to use it to save their boy Obama on Obamacare

NBC has placed a moratorium on bad news on Obama care

And they with no sense of history, they will promote this sell out as peace in our time.

Larry approves of this deal because he claims Iran will help us fight terrorism

    Does a cat bark?

  54. The nuclear agreement with Iran is being touted by the Obama administration as a significant step in keeping Iran from moving towards nuclear weapons.

In reality, the agreement is confirmation of Iran’s uranium enrichment program at a relatively high level, although some of the highest level enrichment is supposed to be suspended. The fact is that in return for a weakening of sanctions that were putting great pressure on Iran, the centrifuges keep spinning, the facilities are maintained, and at best the length of time for an Iranian nuclear “breakout” has been lengthened for a short period.

Eli Lake at The Daily Beast notes the significance:

Under the interim agreement Iran will be allowed to enrich uranium at low levels. Iran’s foreign minister, Javad Zarif said the deal recognized his country’s nuclear program. This is a major victory for Iran whose leaders have insisted for nearly a decade that it has the right to enrich uranium under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Officially, the Obama administration has not recognized that any country has this right under the treaty. It has argued that Iran has to adhere to the terms of prior U.N. Security Council resolutions that prohibit Iran from enrichment.

It is smoke and mirrors, allowing the Obama administration to declare diplomatic victory, change the subject, and create the straw man argument that anyone opposed to the agreement wants war.

  55. So concentrated on today’s news am I that I almost forgot about the deal Pres. Clinton made with N. Korea. He had good intentions, but the plan didn’t work. Why the hell would obama do the same thing? Unless, of course, he knows it won’t do anything to slow down Iran and doesn’t care.

  58. I wanted to know if the Kerry – Obama/Iran deal violated any specific, previously established agreements between Israel and the US, and tried to do a little research. Need to do more. Obviously, many agreements have been signed between Israel and the US since 1967 – some very specific to particular countries in the Middle East, some more general. It goes without saying that this recent action violates the long-standing cooperative partnership between the two countries. Whether it violates written agreements and assurances, will take some further research to determine. The Jewish Virtual Library has many posted online many of the documents signed by US Presidents and surrogates, to establish alliances with Israel.

One can only assume that it’s just no big deal for Obama to break with traditional US policies, standards, and procedures regarding not only in terms of Israel, but any other damn issue/ tradition he disagreed with. He has done so from the beginning of his sick, twisted reign as POTIUS – with absolutely no impunity:

Below is just an excerpt from a statement regarding US and Israel from the Jewish Virtual Library::
    ****************

    U.S.-Israel Relations:
Roots of the U.S.-Israel Relationship
Today, the United States and Israel are the closest of friends and allies. The continued strength of the U.S.-Israel alliance is rooted in the shared values of the two nations.

During more than six decades of state-building, Israelis have looked to the United States for political inspiration, financial and military assistance and diplomatic support. Americans, in turn, have viewed Israel with a special appreciation for its successful effort to follow the Western democratic tradition, its remarkable economic development, and its determined struggle against its uncompromising enemies.

If one were forced to reduce the explanation for the unique relationship between the United States and Israel to one sentence, it was probably best expressed by Lyndon Johnson who, when asked by Soviet Premier Aleksei Kosygin why the U.S. supported Israel when there are 80 million Arabs and only three million Israelis, the President replied simply: “Because it is right.”

    —————–
This issue does not register with the American People. If he thinks this deal will give him political traction, he is whistling past the graveyard. Wars can wag the dog. Peace treaties which preserve the status quo ante and fuck our closet ally in the Middle East, may appeal to the blatant anti-Semitism of the hard left which was equally visible in Britain prior to World War II, even though they had had a successful Jewish PM during the late Victorian period, i.e. Benjamin Disraeli. Fast forward a generation and all that good will was gone. It was fashionable among leftists to be anti-Semitic. Nunc pro tunc–then as now. The cure for this however is not a neocon foreign policy, and that is what no one on the right seems to understand. Obama has literally destroyed the leverage, trust and nuclear power that made the Middle East an Anglo-American sandbox ever since the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. Now that is changing. Look for the rise of Iran, staff jobs for Harvard trained specialists, and no peace for Israel. Nevertheless, and despite the incessant praise of big media for this idiot, it will not move the needle on Obamacare. It is just a blip.

  62. Foreign Minister Celebrates Deal: Iran to Continue Nuclear Activities

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif told reporters Sunday the Iranian nuclear program will continue after a deal was signed last night in Geneva.
“I announce to our people that our enrichment activities will continue as before.”

    Iranian Fars News reported:

Iran will continue its nuclear enrichment program, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said after five days of marathon talks between Iran and the six world powers led to the endorsement of a deal early on Sunday.

“The (nuclear) program has been recognized and the Iranian people’s right to use the peaceful nuclear technology based on the NPT (Non-Proliferation Treaty) and as an inalienable right has been recognized and countries are necessitated not to create any obstacle on its way,” Zarif said in a press conference in Geneva on Saturday morning.

“The (nuclear) program will continue and all the sanctions and violations against the Iranian nation under the pretext of the nuclear program will be removed gradually,” he added.

He said the next six months will be a serious start towards “the full removal of all UN Security Council, unilateral and multilateral sanctions, while the country’s enrichment program will be maintained.” “Production of 5-percent-enriched uranium will continue in the country similar the past,” Zarif continued.

“None of the enrichment centers will be closed and Fordo and Natanz will continue their work and the Arak heavy water program will continue in its present form and no material (enriched uranium stockpiles) will be taken out of the country and all the enriched materials will remain inside the country. The current sanctions will move towards decrease, no sanctions will be imposed and Iran’s financial resources will return,” he continued.

    CREDIT: AP
The White House is denying an Israeli news network’s report that Valerie Jarrett, one of President Barack Obama’s top advisors, has been secretly conducting negotiations with Iran for more than a year, attempting to stifle rumors that have been granted new life after circulating since last fall.

Israel’s Channel 10′s report aired Sunday, which cites several unnamed “senior Israeli officials,” claiming that Jarrett has been holding talks with Iran over its nuclear program in backrooms for the last year, and keeping Israel in the dark. These talks, which allegedly took place around the Gulf region, were supposedly between Jarrett and the head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, Ali Akbar Salehi.

The television station’s report also claimed that even the State Department was kept out of the loop, and highlighted the differences between France and the United States as evidence that a tentative deal had been completed between Washington and Tehran before members of the international community met in Geneva last month:

According to Channel 10, the secret channel marginalized Kerry, and was overseen by the president. The idea had been for Kerry merely to fly to Geneva, as he did last Friday, to sign a deal in which he had been a bit player. In the event, factors such as the French stance, and Israel’s very public objections, derailed this plan, and the talks broke up last Saturday without an agreement.

White House spokesperson Bernadette Meehan when asked about the claims about Jarrett told Israeli newspaper Haaretz that “those rumors are absolutely 100% false.” Amazingly enough, this is the second time in the last year that the Obama administration has had to tamp down on rumors that Jarrett is conducting secret talks with Iran. The first report ran in Israeli newspaper Yediot Aharonot on Nov. 5, 2012 — the day before the 2012 presidential election — and has been circulating the Internet ever since. In that article, it was alleged that Jarrett “served as the personal and direct emissary of the president to secret meetings with the Iranians,” offering scant details of those meetings’ content.

  64. The left is determined to throw out the Constitution, and grant unlimited powers to the federal government. Obamacare is a case in point. And Justice John Roberts to his everlasting shame violated his oath and went along with it.

There is a root cause for this tragedy. We ask too much of government. And the more we ask them to do, the more they must cobble together a coalition of affected interests, buy them off, and the end result is a bill which ill serves the public good.

The American People–those who got screwed have no seat at the table of power. Therefore, they are the ones who get harvested. This is why the plea of Ted Cruz and Mike Lee resonates with me. They want government to work for the American people rather than against them. And it is also why Big Media seeks to silence their voices.

Here, in brief, is (a portion of) Jay Cost’s take on this. I commend it highly to your attention:

    ————————-

If the government were (merely) asked to do only what a fair reading of the Constitution authorizes it to do, this design would not be a problem. In its time, the arrangement of powers and branches was a brilliant innovation to ensure that all sides were treated fairly.

A government, however, that is expected to generate economic growth, build highways and bridges, support farmers, make sure families have food on the table, provide access to health care, fund scientific research, ensure food, drug, and product safety, help kids afford college, maintain expansive and unmatched armed forces—even put a man on the moon—invites special treatment for well-positioned interest groups.

In a word, it breeds corruption.

Worse, the more authority the government claims for itself, the more parts of society it affects. This rouses otherwise dormant factions to defend their interests. Thus, the price of politics rises higher and higher. More federal power means more interest groups and therefore still more side deals.

If you want to know why the population of metropolitan Washington has skyrocketed, in numbers and wealth, over a generation, this is the answer. An ever-more ambitious government has drawn more and more interest groups to the capital to make sure they get their cut of the federal pie.

This helps account for the disaster of Obamacare. There are, of course, vigorous debates to be had about whether government should be responsible for everyone’s health care. But for our government to accomplish this goal, Obama and congressional Democrats had to buy off a motley crew of factions. Indeed, this was one of their principal concerns: luring on board the “stakeholders” who had stymied reforms before.

The result is a socially indefensible law. Even if we grant that the government should insure all Americans, Obamacare’s distributional effects are perverse. An unstated rule of politics is that policy should leave middle-class families better off, or at least no worse off.

Obamacare tramples on this principle, sticking it to families who buy insurance on the private market. Millions of Americans are seeing their insurance rates go up while their coverage networks shrink.

Why did they lose out? Because of the bill’s political design. These people who lost had the misfortune of being unorganized politically at the time the bill was passed; most of those receiving cancellation letters had no idea they would suffer this way. Well-organized interests, meanwhile—doctors, hospitals, drug manufacturers, insurance providers, the AARP, labor unions—all were cutting deals so they could walk away winners.

Similarly, a straightforward tax on the American people to pay for expanding health coverage was avoided for fear that people would organize in opposition. So President Obama and congressional Democrats shifted the burdens of the bill onto an unorganized group in a hard-to-detect manner.

Political brilliance perhaps, but social perversity.

This wretched deal offers one occasion when comparison with Neville Chamberlain in Munich in 1938 is valid. An overeager Western government, blind to the evil cunning of the regime it so much wants to work with, appeases it with concessions that will come back to haunt it. Geneva and Nov. 24 will be remembered along with Munich and Sep. 29.

Barack Obama has made many foreign policy errors in the past five years, but this is the first to rank as a disaster. Along with the health care law, it is one of his worst-ever steps. John Kerry is a too-eager puppy looking for a deal at any price.

With the U.S. government forfeiting its leadership role, the Israelis, Saudis, and perhaps others are left to cope with a bad situation made worse. War has now become a much more likely prospect. Shame on us Americans for re-electing Barack Obama.

  77. Robert Fisk: He may huff and puff but Benjamin Netanyahu is on his own now as nuclear agreement isolates Israel

It marks a victory for the Shia in their growing conflict with the Sunni Muslim Middle East. It gives substantial hope to Bashar al-Assad that he will be left in power in Syria. It isolates Israel. And it infuriates Saudi Arabia and Qatar and Kuwait and other Sunni Gulf States which secretly hoped that a breakdown of the Geneva nuclear talks would humiliate Shia Iran and support their efforts to depose Assad, Iran’s only ally in the Arab world.

In the cruel politics of the Middle East, the partial nuclear agreement between Iran and the world’s six most important powers proves that the West will not go to war with Iran and has no intention – far into the future – of undertaking military action in the region. We already guessed that when – after branding Assad as yet another Middle Eastern Hitler – the US, Britain and France declined to assault Syria and bring down the regime. American and British people – those who had to pay the price for these monumental adventures, because political leaders no longer lead their men into battle – had no stomach for another Iraq or another Afghanistan.

“Chris Matthews: ‘Vulture’ Conservatives Commit ‘Verbal Terror’ on ‘Great’ Obama”

    (snip)

MATTHEWS: “Let Me Start” tonight with this.

His opponents are trying to take away these rights.”

  79. I used to wonder if this nation could survive another 3 years and one month of the current POTUS.

Now I wonder if the world can survive him.

  80. If you are a combat commander you must ensure combat efficiency in the troops. If they do not obey orders, or if they conduct themselves like barbarians you have got to nip it in the bud. General Sherman was a miserable failure at this, and when he burned Atlanta, he turned a blind eye on the rape and pillaging which his troops committed because they assumed it was ok. He set the tone, and to this day he remains a much reviled figure in the south. The modern word for this is culture.

The parallel to this is NBC. They have created a perverse culture and they spew forth it to the public every night. Putting aside the fact that they have no respect for their audience, they really are in the same position as Sherman, and will become equally reviled by thinking people. They have turned a blind eye on the vile behavior of Martin Bashir, and the work group that supported his hate fest. And, elder statesmen for that network have refused to speak up. Perhaps that is because people like Tom Browkaw sit on Soros boards and receive a handsome stipend. Yes, he takes money and then refuses to speak up when he has a professional duty to do so by condemning not only the remarks Bashir made, but Bashir himself.

What clearer proof could there possibly be that NBC is an enemy of the country and the American People. Most disgusting of all however is that Comcast allows this to happen. What scumbags their executives must be–most especially their chairman and founder.

  81. It is no mystery why NBC/MSNBC failed to discipline Bashir–or separate themselves from his vile remarks toward Palin The reason is obvious, i.e. MSNBC President Phil Griffin personally authorized those comments before the fact. And, it gets worse, NBC approved them as well. Lest we forget, NBC is the one who tried to foment a riot in Miami over the Travon Martin shooting, by calling the Mexican assailant white and by casting the bellicose black decedent as an innocent child. That is the reason they have not interceded in this matter. If the top brass was not in this thing up to their neck, then they would have moved heaven and earth to separate themselves through a statement of denial and punishment no different than what they metted out to Imus and Baldwin. The chances that this hit on Palin was sanction by Griffin, and most likely NBC as well, is 100%. Res ipsa locitur–the thing speaks for itself.

Why are we so fixated on 4 million insured people who may lose their current and mostly sub-standard health insurance policies and ignoring the fact that 48 million people who have never had health insurance will finally be able to buy health insurance?

The 4 million insured have had the ability to purchase insurance all along. Now, due to circumstances beyond their control, including the greed of insurance companies, they could potentially lose their current policy. But they still have the option to get another plan.

The 48 million people that have never had coverage would not be able to get any health insurance coverage if it were not for the Affordable Care Act. End of story!

US protecting Iran against Israel and the Saudis!

I doubt most of you are too surprised by the many stories about Israel and Saudi Arabia cooperating against Iran. But this has to be a new twist: The United States has warned Israel and Saudi Arabia that it will protect Iran against any attack taken without its approval.

Israeli personnel in recent days were in Saudi Arabia to inspect bases that could be used as a staging ground to launch attacks against Iran, according to informed Egyptian intelligence officials.

The officials said Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan and other Arab and Persian Gulf countries have been discussing the next steps toward possible strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites.

The officials said the U.S. passed strong messages to Israel and the Saudis that the Americans maintain and control radar capabilities around the skies of Iran and that no strike should be launched without the permission of the Obama administration.

    Unbelievable….

  84. And Now This!
    ====

Sources: U.S. has been conducting secret dialogue with Hezb’allah

The news goes from terrible to …….. horrible. First Iran, now this. Is there any murderous jihadi that Obama won’t sanction? Hezb’allah is a designated terrorist organization responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Americans.

Obama is friend to the global jihad, enemy of American interests, an enemy in the White House, no less. Devastating.

In April 1983, Hezb’Allah (party of Allah) allegedly blew up a van filled with explosives in front of the U.S. embassy in Beirut, killing 58 Americans and Lebanese. In October 1983, Iranian proxy Hezb’allah bombed our Marine barracks in Beirut, taking the lives of 241 Americans and 58 French. Funded by Iran and Syria, Hazb’allah has been at war with the US since its creation in 1982.

In 1984, William Francis Buckley, Beirut CIA Station Chief/Political Officer, was kidnapped from his apartment by Hezb’Allah:

Major General Carl Stiner stated that “Buckley’s kidnapping had become a major CIA concern. Not long after his capture, his agents either vanished or were killed. It was clear that his captors had tortured him into revealing the network of agents he had established.”[8] According to the US, Buckley had undergone 15 months of torture by Hezbollah before his death. In a video taken approximately seven months after the kidnapping, his appearance was described as follows:[9]

Buckley was close to a gibbering wretch. His words were often incoherent; he slobbered and drooled and, most unnerving of all, he would suddenly scream in terror, his eyes rolling helplessly and his body shaking. … The CIA consensus was that he would be blindfolded and chained at the ankles and wrists and kept in a cell little bigger than a coffin.

Obama is working with these savages.

Obamacare is about the redistribution of health insurance. Since it is falling apart, the propagandized rationales (LIES) are not working, they are going to cut straight to the chase and appeal to the class warfare argument. Who cares that people who pay for their own insurance (individual market, employer provided insurance which is compensation, Medicare which was paid for by decades of taxes paid) get screwed as long as the have-nots get some of it. And the old Democratic constituencies get a piece, and the new Democratic constituencies (health insurers, IT companies who work for them, drug companies, hospital corporation holding companies, and Wall St who own and finance them) get paid. Move-On is showing how far down the hole they are by being this shameless.

The seven fundraisers will benefit Democratic candidates in the 2014 elections, as the party tries to maintain a majority in the U.S. Senate and make gains in the Republican-controlled House of Representatives. At most of the events, donors will pay $16,200 to $32,400 to attend.
Obama also is scheduled to speak about immigration policy today at the Betty Ong Chinese Recreation Center in San Francisco and the following day about the economy at theDreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. (DWA) facility in Glendale, California, according to the White House.
Obama’s first fundraiser, at the North Seattle home of youth clothing executive Thomas Campion, benefitted the Democratic National Committee, according to an invitation. Dozens of Republican lawmakers have called for Sebelius to either resign or be fired for her role in the bumpy rollout of the ObamaCare online insurance exchanges. Some Democrats have suggested someone should lose their job, although none have singled out Sebelius.

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus slammed the secretary for her remarks.

“It is amazing that the Obama administration doesn’t understand that their bosses are the American people. Maybe that is why the administration continues to push this train wreck of a healthcare law and refused to heed years of warning signs that ObamaCare was the wrong prescription to fix America’s healthcare problems. It’s time for President Obama to do what he should have done weeks ago and fire Secretary Sebelius,” he said in a statement.

Breaking: Angry Protesters Storm, Set Fire To Ansar Al-Sharia Base In Benghazi

Libyan Army Special Forces have been clashing in the last few hours with Ansar Al-Sharia in Benghazi. Despite a curfew, protesters, angry at the destruction that the Islamic terrorist group has brought to their city, at great personal risk to their own safety, stormed the Ansar al-Sharia base and set fire to it.

The Libyan Interior ministry is reporting 9 dead and 49 injured in early reports from Benghazi. The trouble began after Libyan law enforcement attempted to pursue a suspect into the terrorist area, then law enforcement came under attack near Ansar al-Sharia headquarters.

The officials said the U.S. passed strong messages to Israel and the Saudis that the Americans maintain and control radar capabilities around the skies of Iran and that no strike should be launched without the permission of the Obama administration.
    ——————–
First of all, there is a sense of poetic justice here, in that the royal family in Saudi Arabia helped get him into Harvard Law School. That is not speculation. It is a known fact. So from their standpoint, his betrayal of their interests, and protection of Iran is the unkindest cut of all. Their money is a factor in world affairs. If you recall the movie Roll-Over, you will get my drift.

Second, many of the most influential American Jews are madly in love with Obama. Their interest in political power–the game as they call it, and the money making opportunities in affords them trump considerations for Israel. Some of my neighbors epitomize that view point. One of them has a picture in her business of Obama giving her a kiss. Whether that was a political kiss, or a Judas kiss, one can only wonder. Naturally, I said nothing. Love is blind.

Third, as far as American interests are concerned, this is precisely the denouement that I predicted and feared after Obama failed to negotiate effectively with respect to Syria, and surrendered our position as the essential nation in the Middle East to Putin. There can be no doubt that this rope a dope move vis a vis Obama, was inspired by a more public relations savvy Iranian President, post dinner jacket, plus the guidance of Putin.

Fourth, on the domestic side, it is hard for big media to simply declare it another Obama victory, as they are keen to do. The reason is because there are deep divisions within the ruling class, on whether this was a victory, or another Neville Chamberlain like affair. That means controversy, and big media will be forced to report on it. And even if corrupt big media organizations get done salting panels with Obama enthusiasts, the political end game is uncertain.

Fifth, on the merits, it is much easier to make the case that this was a bad deal, and a bad deal is worse than no deal at all. It is asymmetrical in the sense that Iran got what it wanted and our allies in the region were betrayed. It is consistent with the meme the Obama foreign policy is a study in weakness. He is a paper tiger. Israel and the Arab states have an incentive to test him through sabre rattling and financial retaliation.

Sixth, I am reasonably certain that this deal will have no enduring political effect, but when the facts are fully known. Again, the American People do not care about foreign policy. The experts that do are deeply divided with the opponents being more passionate. Lastly, Saudi Arabia can be counted upon to retaliate against Obama.

  97. So Obama paints American conservatives as dangerous extremists, while Iranian extremist mullahs are worthy of trust and negotiation…yeah that figures.

  100. Just as there are insane women who want to marry Charles Manson, there are insane members of the elite class who will always defend Mr. Obama. However, to the objective mind, his foreign policy is one of complete and utter CAPITULATION to our enemies, and his domestic policy is one of complete and utter CAPITULATION to big business. And nowhere in his personal values is there a scintilla of support for this nation or the American People. He is the utter worst of celebrity culture devoid of character or morality. Just this endless meme about racism, class warfare and all that. But for big media, he would be off someplace, having Bill Ayers write his riveting account of how he created a new heaven and a new earth, which discerning book dealers would place in the fiction section. Big media is Judas to this nation.

  101. ObamaCare slams smokers with sky-high premium costs, could backfire

    [snip]

Unlike drug addicts, alcoholics, or the obese — all of whom represent higher-than-average medical costs — smokers are the only such group with a pre-existing condition that ObamaCare penalizes. It allows insurance companies to charge smokers up to 50 percent more than non-smokers for an identical policy, depending on the state and any subsidies the person might qualif

    ——

Reminds me of the fuel taxes Barry wanted to charge to make people drive less. While he campaigns for 5+ years on AF1.

  102. House Speaker John Boehner is finding out first hand some of the costly side effects associated with ObamaCare. The Ohio Republican signed up for coverage under the Affordable Care Act — only to find his premiums would double and his deductibles would triple.

Boehner, along with congressional colleagues and aides, are transitioning to coverage via the Washington, D.C., exchange – called DC Health Link — from the Federal Employees Health Benefits system as part of ObamaCare.

A spokesman for Boehner on Monday described his experience trying to sign up him and his wife for coverage. Turns out, under the new coverage, Boehner, 64, will be forced to fork over thousands of dollars more per year.

According to his office, Boehner compared options available and initially chose a plan similar to the one he and his wife currently have. The figures came out to $802 per month in premiums with a $2,000 deductible. The monthly premium calculates to an increase of 85 percent, his office said. Under their previous plan, the Boehners had a $433 monthly premium and a $700 deductible.

    Sigh… and this is Obama’s insurance. 🙁

  104. Only four out of 10 Americans believe President Barack Obama can manage the federal government effectively, according to a new national poll.

And a CNN/ORC International survey released Monday morning also indicates that 53% of Americans now believe that Obama is not honest and trustworthy, the first time that a clear majority in CNN polling has felt that way.

According to the survey, conducted last Monday through Wednesday, 40% say the President can manage the government effectively. That 40% figure is down 12 percentage points from June and is the worst score Obama received among the nine personal characteristics tested in the new poll.

If this crew wasn’t so dangerous it would be laughable.

Obama’s foreign policy makes Obamacare look like the gold standard of medical care.

  106. After the 2012 election…NOW they start coning out with this stuff.

    FALSIFIED JOBS NUMBERS

    http://nypost.com/2013/11/23/cooked-census-reported-to-obama-and-rahm/

False job numbers: Did the White House know?
    ======================================

    John Crudelle
    NY Post

Did White House know about fabricated and manipulated job numbers before 2012 election?

Let me be the first to ask: Did the White House know that employment reports were being falsified?

Last week I reported exclusively that someone at the Census Bureau’s Philadelphia region had been screwing around with employment data. And that person, after he was caught in 2010, claimed he was told to do so by a supervisor two levels up the chain of command.

On top of that, a reliable source whom I haven’t identified said the falsification of employment data by Census was widespread and ongoing, especially around the time of the 2012 election.

There’s now a congressional investigation of how Census handles employment data. And we can hope that we’ll find out this was just an isolated incident.

But let me tell you why it might not be.

Back in 2009 — right before the 2010 census of the nation was taken — there was an announcement that the Obama administration had decided that the Census Bureau would report to senior White House aides.

The rumor was that Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel was in charge of the nationwide head count.

The chief of the Commerce Department usually oversees the Census, which determines how many congressional representatives and how much money each state gets for the next decade. But the Obama administration had decided — the story went — that Emanuel was a better guy for the job.

The idea that a political creature like Emanuel would be calling the shots on how states would be redistricted in coming elections sent Republicans into a tizzy.

“This is nothing more than a political land grab,” said Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah).

Other Republicans expressed similar dismay. And the tension got so high that Judd Gregg, a Republican senator from New Hampshire, even withdrew his nomination to be Commerce secretary. (Gary Locke assumed that post.)

And why wouldn’t the Republicans be bothered? Even though the average American might think the census is nothing more than a nuisance, by Washington’s two most important standards — votes and money — it’s anything but.

So here’s where my story picks up.

Back in 2010, I started getting reports that the Census Bureau had some very unusual hiring practices. Census takers and supervisors — at risk of heavy fines — were reporting to me that large numbers of people were being hired only to be fired shortly afterward. And then rehired.

I theorized at the time that Census was trying to make the job-creation totals look better nationwide in those bleak months leading up to the midterm congressional elections.

This employment policy seemed too coordinated. The regional higher-ups at Census couldn’t be doing this on their own; there had to be a grander plan.

I still don’t know what was going on.

But then I heard about the falsification in Philly. This time, however, it wasn’t the employment numbers that were being doodled with. This time it was the unemployment data, which are gathered at the Census Bureau and handed over raw to the Labor Department.

I don’t want to get ahead of myself on this, but Philadelphia is pretty close to Washington, DC. And the census taker who was caught cheating — a guy named Julius Buckmon — had been canvassing the DC area when he was filling out forms for people who didn’t exist.

And the Census Bureau had been inexplicably downsized in recent years from eight regions to only six, giving more control to whoever had seized control.

The supervisor who was fingered by Buckmon did admit that he told other survey takers to hand in half-filled-out interviews. And the White House always has pretty good influence at the Census Bureau, even if it didn’t get its wish for Emanuel.

Maybe it’s just my deeply ingrained distrust of authority — especially when it resides in Washington — or my hope that a good story will last, but I’m betting 60/40 that the White House had grand plans for Census. And some of those may have been carried out.

  107. Barack Obama, President Hat Stand

By Larry Johnson on November 25, 2013 at 3:56 PM in Current Affairs

Ouch, and double ouch. GQ Magazine is out with its list of the 25 LEAST INFLUENTIAL people and, weighing in at 17, is the Chicago Kid, the Golden Child of Hawaii, the Healer of the Oceans. Mr. Nobel Peace Prize for Nothing himself, BAAAA RACCCKKKK OOOOOO BAAAAAA MA! (That’s my attempt to write out a Boxing Announcer’s voice):

    17. President Obama
He can blame Republicans in Congress all he likes and get away with it because congressional Republicans are the worst. But the fact remains that I have spent the majority of this man’s presidency watching bad things happen, then hearing a thoughtful speech about how we gotta make sure the bad things never happen again, and then watching as nothing gets done. Next time there’s an election, I want Nate Silver to analyze the data and tell me who to vote for so that I don’t end up casting my ballot for a very eloquent hat stand.

Eloquent “Hat Stand?” I love it!!

If the White House is counting on the deal with Iran to pull Obama’s blistered nuts out of the raging fire of the Obamacare catastrophe, think again. The entire impetus from the US perspective was entirely political and, unfortunately, very myopic. John Kerry and Susan Rice were hoping this would burnish Barack’s image as a international leader. Unfortunately, that image is not going to resonate much at home in America. Most Americans could give two shits about Iran and would be hard pressed to point it out on a map. The Americans who do know and care about Iran are more likely to be close friends and supporters of Israel and will be angry at President Hat Stand.

  108. Another possible GOP pickup in the Senate…..new Iowa poll is drowning the democrats with Ocare.

    http://www.conservativeintel.com/2013/11/25/new-iasen-poll-obamacares-dead-weight-could-tip-the-scale-in-iowa-senate-race/

Iowans, who played a vital role in elevating Barack Obama to the presidency, don’t think highly of his performance now, nor of Obamacare. Their attitude could help turn the state’s sleeper of a 2014 Senate race into a real GOP pickup opportunity, a new Conservative Intel poll suggests.

The survey of 985 likely Iowa voters, conducted on November 23 and 24 by Harper Polling, finds the likely Democratic nominee, U.S. Rep. Bruce Braley, with a slim lead against all comers. But despite a near-total lack of name recognition among the Republicans in this race, each of them holds Braley in the low 40s, and some trail within the margin of error in head-to-head matchups.

The poll also finds a slight Republican lead on the generic Senate ballot, 42 to 38 percent.

Contrast this to July, when Public Policy Polling tested Iowa’s open-seat Senate race and found Braley winning each matchup by between 9 and 13 points, and sitting comfortably in the mid-40s.

The Iowa race has been categorized as a Republican recruitment failure, and the new Conservative Intel poll bolsters that characterization. For each of the five GOP candidates tested, between 75 and 85 percent of likely Iowa voters have either “never heard of” them or have yet to form an opinion. But some of these no-name candidates are already nipping at the heels of Braley, who has a favorable/unfavorable rating of 33% to 28%.

Against former U.S. Attorney Matthew Whitaker, Braley leads 41 to 38 percent.
Against business executive Mark Jacobs, Braley leads 41 to 37 percent.
Against radio host Sam Clovis, Braley leads, 40 to 35 percent.
Against State Sen. Joni Ernst, Braley leads 42 to 36 percent.
Against former Chuck Grassley staffer David Young, Braley leads 41 to 35 percent.

For any given GOP candidate, between 53 percent (Jacobs) and 65 percent (Young) of voters have never even heard of them; in each case, an additional 20 to 30 percent have heard of the candidate but have yet to form an opinion. In contrast, just over 60 percent of voters already have an opinion of Braley.

The candidates in this race are vying to replace retiring Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa. This is the first Conservative Intel poll of this race, so there are no trends to share over time. But this race has been widely assumed to favor Democrats, and largely overlooked in favor of more promising GOP pickup opportunities in states like Arkansas, Louisiana, North Carolina, and Alaska.

If the Iowa race seems closer than conventional wisdom dictates, this poll contains hints that the latest round of Obamacare implementation, which began October 1, could be playing a role.

The poll finds that likely Iowa voters disapprove of Obamacare, 54 to 34 percent, and that 52 percent say they are more likely to vote for an Obamacare opponent, versus 39 percent who say they are more likely to vote for an Obamacare supporter.

President Obama himself suffers a 21-point approval deficit in Iowa, with 55 percent disapproving of his performance and only 34 percent approving.
