Oprah Pigs Out

Matt Damon is an idiot and an obnoxious hypocrite. Matt Damon is no longer the pretty boy of old. Matt Damon has turned paunchy and bald. Matt Damon however is just a piglet when compared to that hog of hogs Oprah Winfrey.

Pig Oprah, the once and future crackhead, built her brand and bilked her billions by lying to white women. Pig Oprah was all about women’s rights. Then… Pig Oprah in 2008 showed her true colors and her pig character. In 2008 Pig Oprah declared that in all her life she had never seen a politician as wonderful as wannabee black man Barack Obama. Pig Oprah used her then popularity and money gotten from white women to campaign against a white woman and for her half black Messiah Barack.

Pig Oprah Winfrey attended the “church” of Jeremiah Wright but reportedly she realized that if white women uncovered her association with that race-baiter it might cost her money. Pig Oprah left the “church” of Jeremiah Wright. Pig Oprah knew what a hate filled “church” Jeremiah Wright presided over. Pig Oprah also knew that Barack Obama remained in that hate filled “church”. Pig Oprah has no excuse that she did not know what swine Barack Obama associated with. Pig Oprah knew what Barack Obama’s mentor Jeremiah Wright was. Pig Oprah knew.

After Pig Oprah endorsed Barack Obama in 2008 many white women fled from the Oprah pigsty. Oprah is now in a cable pigsty few know about and even less watch. Pig Oprah is still in the news however.

Recently Pig Oprah found another exceptional politician she supports. It’s another black man. Cory Booker is now the latest exceptional politician Oprah is funding and supporting. Pig Oprah supports black men for political office and trashes white women who stand in their way as Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin found out.

Pig Oprah continues her lies and race-baiting. Hey, remember when once upon a time us good liberals were appalled at the thought of skinning alligators for use as fashion accessories? Well, today that gossip site TMZ helps us roast Pig Oprah:

“Passive Aggressive Oprah

Gives BS Apology for Switzerland Racist Flap

Oprah Winfrey says she’s kinda sorta “sorry” for the fallout that ensued after she told the media about a “racist” encounter at a purse store in Switzerland … saying, “I’m really sorry that it got blown up.”

Yeah, right.

Oprah addressed the media at the premiere of “The Butler” in L.A. last night — backpedaling after the shop in question started to refute O’s allegations of racism during an incident last month.

The shop owner says the whole thing was a “misunderstanding” and had “nothing to do with racism.”

Last night, Oprah said … “I think that incident in Switzerland was just an incident in Switzerland. I’m really sorry that it got blown up. I purposefully did not mention the name of the store. I’m sorry that I said it was Switzerland.”

Problem is … O’s full of it. What did she think was going to happen when she went on national TV and cried racism? The media was just going to ignore that??

Oprah once ragged on hamburgers and single-handedly CRIPPLED the beef industry. She knew damn well how the media was going to handle the Switzerland situation … which is why she went to the media in the first place. Her mission was to destroy the shop.

There are some people who are saying Oprah’s Swiss encounter wasn’t really about race — Oprah was just mad she wasn’t treated like Her Royal O-ness because the shop employee didn’t recognize her … but now, after the employee told the media she’s being unfairly attacked, O’s feeling a little guilty.

But pretending not to know about the impact of her race allegations?? That’s like Obama pretending not to know what’s gonna happen if he pushes that big red button in the White House.

C’mon O … you’re smarter than that. And so are we.”

Oprah Winfrey is a pig. Oprah Winfrey is a big fat race-baiting pig. Oprah Winfrey is a big fat race-baiting hypocritical lying pig. So who better to sell ObamaCare?

The supposedly serious The Hill is selling a pig. Writes The Hill, and not in jest, Does Obama need OprahCare?:

Could Oprah sell ObamaCare to America?

That’s the question on the lips of healthcare activists who are hoping the talk show queen will put her considerable influence behind the promotional campaign for President Obama’s signature law.

The billionaire media mogul is a supporter and family friend of the Obamas but has given no indication she’s interested in participating in the enrollment push that is set to begin this fall.

That said, the White House is aggressively tapping its network of allies in Hollywood as it looks to drum up publicity for ObamaCare, with Oprah among the most powerful supporters of all.

Marketing experts say her involvement would be a game changer.

“She has one of the most powerful brands in America,” said Allen Adamson, managing director at brand consulting firm Landor Associates.

If the White House isn’t calling her, they should be.”

The administration has pursued celebrity endorsements for ObamaCare as a way to drum up participation in the insurance exchanges that are set to launch on Oct. 1. [snip]

There are signs that Oprah might be willing to step back into politics after a noticeable absence.

She recently hosted a fundraiser for Newark Mayor Cory Booker (D), who is running for Senate in New Jersey, and is starring in a forthcoming political film about a longtime African-American butler at the White House.

Her criticism of the acquittal of George Zimmerman, who killed unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin in Florida last year, also made headlines this summer.”

Oprah is a pig and lots of white women know that and won’t be used again. Hillary Clinton supporters from 2008 certainly know that:

Oprah is already set to visit the White House later this year, as Obama announced just last week that she is among this year’s recipients of the Medal of Freedom, the highest award given to civilians.

But promoting one of the most controversial laws in decades would be a big risk for Winfrey to take.

Her favorability with the public dropped sharply in 2008 after she endorsed and campaigned with Obama. The move alienated both right-leaning viewers and those who supported Hillary Clinton.

Some analysts linked the endorsement to a subsequent drop in ratings for “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” She shifted tactics in 2012, choosing to support Obama but not actively promote him.

Oprah would risk tarnishing her brand by associating herself with the polarizing healthcare law. According to a recent CBS survey, 39 percent now support full repeal of ObamaCare, the highest level ever found in the organization’s polling.”

Pig Oprah sell ObamaCare? She might as well try to buy an $38,000 alligator bag in Switzerland. ObamaCare supporters have a really hard time selling ObamaCare even when the audience is supposed to be on their side. Watch how easy it is for Rand Paul to demolish ObamaCare on… the Daily Show???:

Whatever one’s political views on Rand Paul and his arguments on the Daily Show we can all agree that Pig Oprah would not stand up to an intelligent discussion of ObamaCare with Rand Paul. We also doubt Pig Oprah can even begin to explain away to “the people” the latest ObamaCare scam. Who’s up for another arbitrary delay in ObamaCare?

“One of the selling points for ObamaCare was its mandates on insurance companies to keep out-of-pocket costs down for consumers. In fact, next to the promise of universal insurance (which turns out to be illusory, too), the cap on out-of-pocket expenses was supposed to be the best part of ObamaCare for consumers. That, of course, just means that insurer risk pools have to cover more of the actual costs of medical care, which means that the costs will get passed along to consumers in the form of higher premiums. And right now, skyrocketing premiums are the Obama administration’s biggest political headache.

Guess which part of ObamaCare just got delayed now?”

The scam called ObamaCare is falling apart but the liars want Pig Oprah to sell this train wreck:

“First, there was the delay of Obamacare’s Medicare cuts until after the election. Then there was the delay of the law’s employer mandate. Then there was the announcement, buried in the Federal Register, that the administration would delay enforcement of a number of key eligibility requirements for the law’s health insurance subsidies, relying on the “honor system” instead. Now comes word that another costly provision of the health law—its caps on out-of-pocket insurance costs—will be delayed for one more year.

According to the Congressional Research Service, as of November 2011, the Obama administration had missed as many as one-third of the deadlines, specified by law, under the Affordable Care Act. Here are the details on the latest one.

Obamacare contains a blizzard of mandates and regulations that will make health insurance more costly. One of the most significant is its caps on out-of-pocket insurance costs, such as co-pays and deductibles. Section 2707(b) of the Public Health Service Act, as added by Obamacare, requires that “a group health plan and a health insurance issuer offering group or individual health insurance coverage may not establish lifetime limits on the dollar value of benefits for the any participant or beneficiary.” Annual limits on cost-sharing are specified by Section 1302(c) of the Affordable Care Act; in addition, starting in 2014, deductibles are limited to $2,000 per year for individual plans, and $4,000 per year for family plans. [snip]

According to the law, the limits on out-of-pocket costs for 2014 were $6,350 for individual policies and $12,700 for family ones. But in February, the Department of Labor published a little-noticed rule delaying the cap until 2015. The delay was described yesterday by Robert Pear in the New York Times.

Delay needed to align ‘separate computer systems’

Notes Pear, “Under the [one-year delay], many group health plans will be able to maintain separate out-of-pocket limits for benefits in 2014. As a result, a consumer may be required to pay $6,350 for doctors’ services and hospital care, and an additional $6,350 for prescription drugs under a plan administered by a pharmacy benefit manager.”

The reason for the delay? “Federal officials said that many insurers and employers needed more time to comply because they used separate companies to help administer major medical coverage and drug benefits, with separate limits on out-of-pocket costs. In many cases, the companies have separate computer systems that cannot communicate with one another.”

The best part in Pear’s story is when a “senior administration official” said that “we had to balance the interests of consumers with the concerns of health plan sponsors and carriers…They asked for more time to comply.” Exactly how is it in consumers’ interests to pay far more for health insurance than they do already?

It’s not.”

Pig Oprah to sell this slop? John Oliver has trouble selling ObamaCare to the Daily Show audience but Pig Oprah is supposed to do so? We suppose Pig Oprah will shout “RACISM” to sell ObamaCare and tar ObamaCare opponents like she did over a $38,000 alligator skin purse:

“Oprah Winfrey’s disturbing story from last Friday about being told by a Swiss store’s shop assistant that a handbag she wanted to look at was something she could not afford, is being called “untrue” by the sales clerk in question.

The sales clerk, whose name was only given as “Adriana N.” told the Swiss newspaper SonntagsBlick that Winfrey’s story “absolutely untrue.”

“I even asked her if she wanted to take a closer look at the bag. Mrs. (sic) Winfrey looked around in the store again, but did not say anything further,” Adriana told the paper. “Then she went downstairs with her companion. My colleague held the door open for them. They were not even five minutes in our store.”

As Winfrey told the story recently to both Entertainment Tonight and Larry King, she wanted to look at a $38,000 handbag but was reportedly told it was “too expensive” for her. According to Winfrey, the clerk then opted to show her a cheaper line of handbags. Winfrey took offense, presuming that she was being offered less-expensive bags because she was black.

That’s not true,” Adriana said. “That is absurd. I would never say anything like that to a customer.”

The store was later revealed as Trois Pomme, in Zurich. The owner of the chain of stores, Trudy Götz, apologized publicly to Winfrey, as did the Swiss tourism office.

The accusation of racism has turned Adriana’s world upside-down, she said. “I have not been able to sleep for days. I feel as if I was in the middle of a hurricane. Totally powerless, also helpless. What is happening is horror.” [snip]

She is so powerful and I am only a salesperson. I did not harm anyone. I also don’t understand why she has to exploit this so broadly on TV.”

Adriana, who says she is Italian, did not recognize Winfrey when she entered the store, but says that “would not have made a difference. We try really hard to meet all people with the same respect and to treat everybody equal. If somebody asks me to show an item, I always present it.”

Pig Oprah does not want equality. Pig Oprah wants subservience. Pig Oprah wanted subservience from that white woman who works in a store. Pig Oprah lives in Elysium with Matt Damon and Barack Obama. These three pigs say they care about “the people” but all they care about is themselves.

  1. Pig Oprah for ObamaCare? Looks like climate change and Obama’s OAFs are another likely candidate for her race-baiting talents:

“OFA Gets Zero Attendance for Climate Change Rally

Not a single person showed up at the Georgetown waterfront Tuesday for a climate change agenda event put on by Organizing for Action, the shadowy nonprofit advocacy group born out of President Obama’s 2012 campaign, the NRCC wrote in its blog.

The event page for the “Climate Change Day of Action Rally” disappeared after rainy weather appeared to drive away whatever people planned to attend. The embarrassing showing follows the news that only one volunteer stayed for an OFA Obamacare event in Centreville, Va., last week to work the phones:

  2. For those that don’t know the full story:

“The owner of the upscale Swiss boutique where Oprah Winfrey claimed she was barred from buying a $38,000 by a ‘racist’ sales assistant today demanded to speak to the star she branded ‘over-sensitive’ and insisted her employee did ‘everything right’.

The rather fearsome-looking Trudi Goetz said she wanted to speak with the talk show billionairess ‘as soon as possible’ and also revealed her petrified member of staff will not be sacked or punished.

She said: ‘I don’t know why she talked of racism. I am sorry, but perhaps she is being a little over-sensitive here. Maybe she was somewhat offended because she was not immediately recognized in the store.’

It came as Oprah said she was ‘sorry’ a media frenzy emerged after saying she experienced racism during a trip to Switzerland. [snip]

The firestorm blew up after Oprah – who is promoting a film – gave an interview with Entertainment Tonight, in which she recalled a clerk at an upscale Zurich boutique refusing to show her a handbag.

Winfrey said she was told she could not afford the $38,000 tom Ford Jennifer tote and said it proved that ‘racism is still an issue’.

Meanwhile, Frau Goertz said today: ‘For God’s sake, no! I do not judge people according to their skin color, nor according to their income. I treat everyone equally. And I also expect my employees to do the same.

MailOnline has learned that the saleslady in question is Italian, aged 37, and was not a full-time employee of the ritzy Trois Pommes shop in Zurich where the incident took place – but she was sent there from the sister-store in upscale St. Moritz to help out.

Now it is unclear where she is as she lies low in fear of ‘public hatred’.

Goetz, who was ironically also a guest at the wedding of Tina Turner – the reason why Oprah was in the country, has been left to speak for her.

‘It’s absurd,’ she said. ‘Oprah came into the business, wanted to see the crocodile bag. She inquired about the price. When my saleswoman told her that it cost 35,000 francs and then offered to show her cheaper ones, she walked away.

And in a possible slap to Oprah’s diva tendencies, she added: ‘That is something that international stars appreciate in our country – that you leave them in peace.

Ms. Goetz, who regularly features in the society pages of Swiss newspapers and magazines, said that there will be ‘no repercussions’ for her employee – an Italian woman who worked for five years in a boutique in Milan before joining her.

She went on: ‘She did everything right. I can’t blame her. She has been working for five years with me and is an excellent seller. She usually works in St. Moritz where there is a MOST demanding clientele.

‘She is so very sensitive. I repeat once again; my saleslady only meant well because she wanted to show other bags to Oprah. To demonstrate the whole range is, for me, a perfect service. I find it regrettable that Oprah has come to this service from exactly the wrong way.

I saw Oprah at Tina’s wedding but I only knew her from TV. We didn`t speak, and now unfortunately since then, this is played out before the entire world.

‘I hope the business will not suffer as a result of this. I hope I can speak with Oprah to resolve the situation personally, as quickly as possible.’

Today, it seemed that Oprah – who earned $77m last year, according to Forbes, was desperately trying to take her foot out of the mess she’d put it in.

Last night, the star gave an interview on the red carpet of The Butler, in which she has a role.

She said: ‘I’m in a store and the person doesn’t obviously know that I carry the black card and so they make an assessment based upon the way I look and who I am,’ said Winfrey, who earned $77 million in the year ending in June, according to Forbes magazine.

    ‘I didn’t have anything that said “I have money”: I wasn’t wearing a diamond stud. I didn’t have a pocketbook. I didn’t wear Louboutin shoes. I didn’t have anything,’ she said.

‘You should be able to go in a store looking like whatever you look like and say “I’d like to see this”. That didn’t happen.’

Swiss tourism officials and the boutique owner apologized for the incident last week, but Winfrey insists there’s no need.

‘It’s not an indictment against the country or even that store,’ she continued. ‘It was just one person who didn’t want to offer me the opportunity to see the bag.

‘So no apologies necessary from the country of Switzerland. If somebody makes a mistake in the United States do we apologize in front of the whole country? No!’

Ironically, Oprah also came under fire today from the Swiss animal rights group Four Paws (Vier Pfoten) which slammed her for wanting to buy a crocodile skin bag and called on Trois Pommes to withdraw the item from sale.

‘We do not know if Ms. Winfrey actually wanted to buy the bag,’ said Chantal Häberling, spokeswoman for the group. ‘But she should know crocodiles suffer for the production of such items.

‘The animals are kept in extremely small enclosures,’ she said. ‘To kill them the animals are beaten with a hammer on the head, and in some farms and it sometimes takes two hours before they are dead.’

Oprah is an avowed animal rights spokeswoman. PETA, the world’s largest animal rights group, named her “person of the year” in 2008 after she spoke out against the wearing of fur.

Pig Oprah in 2008 “an animal rights” supporter.

  3. I guess her bright idea on how to pimp her new film about (what else?) racism in America kinda blew up in her face…

  4. GOP Now Holding Fewer Town Halls, “Terrified” To Confront Their Constituents

It’s almost as if they want our support but not our input.

Kaus, suggesting this is largely about amnesty, links the Times. That would be my guess. That, and government shutdown/defunding ObamaCare.

The article begins by noting Pete Sessions, a Republican Texas Congressman (Local News Story, I guess, and yet the Times is covering him) has failed to schedule any town hall meetings this cycle.

One of his constituents, Katrina Pierson, 37, who describes herself as a “conservative grass-roots volunteer” and had hoped to press Mr. Sessions on his commitment to pulling financing from the health care law, is so exasperated that she and a group of like-minded advocates have offered to host a meeting for him.
“He can just give us a date,” she said. “We’ll set it up.”

Though Republicans in recent years have harnessed the political power of these open mic, face-the-music sessions, people from both parties say they are noticing a decline in the number of meetings. They also say they are seeing Congressional offices go to greater lengths to conceal when and where the meetings take place.

“The whole thing is very anti-democratic, and it’s classic behavior of entrenched insiders,” said Matt Kibbe, the president of FreedomWorks, a Tea Party group that in 2009 helped send legions of demonstrators to town halls. Now, it is trying to draw out seemingly reluctant members by staging public events like mock meet-your-lawmaker meetings with empty chairs. “We’ve lost that Rockwell image of citizen participation in democracy.”

Members of Congress and their aides were reluctant to talk about the lack of town halls on the record, mindful of the pressure from liberal and conservative groups alike. “Ninety percent of the audience will be there interested in what you have to say,” one Senate Republican aide said. “It’s the other 5 or 10 percent who aren’t. They’re there to make a point and, frankly, to hijack the meeting.”

“The reason 2009 was so successful for the grass roots was because the politicians never saw it coming,” said Jennifer Stefano, the state director for the Pennsylvania chapter of Americans for Prosperity, a Tea Party group. “Now they know. And they are terrified.”
I don’t even understand what this could possibly mean. Your constituents who show up at a town hall to express their views and to get answers to questions relevant to themselves are “hijacking the meeting” by doing so?

These guys just want a controlled, manufactured event. They want to have a nice, staged photo op they can call a Town Hall where they give a standard stump speech and then go home.

Now I grant you a lot of people who show up at these things — being intense partisans, and having political axes to grind — may pepper Congressmen with odd questions. Silver dimes questions, Birth certificate questions.

    And so what?

The entire point of a non-scripted live opportunity for questioning is, well, the lack of the script. There is no point in merely reading a printed press release aloud — and that seems to be what these guys want.

We see this from celebrities, and of course we see it a lot from politicians. But while celebrities do not have any particular obligation to be candid with, open with, and accessible to their fans — their constituents — politicians obviously do.

Particularly those who claim to wish to return to a better America, the earlier America, the America in which the Constitution was not only binding law but a sort of secular holy law, a time in which Americans were so joyous about their new-won freedom that they eagerly attended town halls to add their voices to the public debate.

Technology and changing cultural norms provide a method for politicians to escape ever meeting their actual constituents. They can appear before them, virtually, on TV. They can send them virtual letters through email.

They do have the ability now to never actually meet their constituents, except virtually, which permits them to control the directionality of speech: Speech flows outwards from them, to the constituent, but not the other way around.

This is corrosive to democracy. It’s not the way it was and it’s not the way it should be.

If a politician has any kind of personal command he can handle a few noise-makers. If a politician has a brain in his head he can parry the oddball obsessions of a crank.

And if a politician is going to take a position opposite that of the people he supposedly represents, he ought to have the guts and integrity to tell them so, to their faces.

You know, politicians supposedly live in their home districts.

They don’t. They live in Washington DC and its tony suburbs. They visit their alleged hometowns.

That means that the social circles they move in, and the thought-communities that influence them, are made up almost entirely of inside-the-beltway professional media class/permanent bureaucracy. City slickers, by and large, though those from Texas might occasionally wear boots and those from North Carolina will still eat some barbecue.

I would posit that it is a very healthy thing to occasionally force oneself to be subject to the influence — even if rude, even if confrontational — of the people one is actually supposed to represent rather than permitting oneself to be solely influenced by the courtiers, praetors, archons, provincial governors, tax-farmers, and high priests of the Imperial Capital.

Democracy is supposed to be rude and confrontational. It is supposed to involve dialogue, not just monologues.

    Monologues are for funerals.

Just a couple of times a season. Just a few times every season, and then you can go back to ensconce yourselves in the New Rome and enjoy its higher level of civilization, its delicious intrigues, and of course its exquisite bathhouses.

  5. Admin: A CPA I know does the tax returns for one of the executives who produced the Oprah show, and for one of the stars of that show. Both told the CPA that Oprah is a racist. This was a problem for the business, because her audience was primarily white women. Therefore, it was like a Peter Sellers movie trying to keep her anti-white biases under wraps. Occasionally it came bubbling to the surface, which caused the producer to worry that the audience would pick up on it and stop watching her show, which would devastate the business. They were relieved to learn that the audience was too dumb as they put it to pick up on Oprah’s disdain for white people. Back stage however it was a continuing problem. Given her racism, it is hardly surprising that Oprah will always promote a black candidate over a white one. We may also look back fondly on the episode when she wanted to go shopping at Harrod’s without rubbing elbows with the hoy poloy. Therefore, she forced the owner of Harrods to shut down the store to everyone but her, so she could pursue her lavish spending spree without interference. Word has it that Michelle has no use for Oprah. Finally, something we can agree on.

Notice how nicely the stage is being set for Ted Cruz. I see he worked for Morgan Lewis, which is the premier mega legal firm in the country. It is a Philadelphia firm with a major office in Washington, which was started by a guy who I hired who was the premier labor lawyer in the country. A friend of mine was the hiring partner for that office, so it is quite possible that he hired Cruz for their firm. Cruz has a photographic memory, was the head of their litigation department and argued 9 cases before the US Supreme Court. He was regarded as one of the top fifty lawyers in the country when he was under 40 years old, and our James Carvale called him the most fearless Republican leader he has seen in 30 years. The right man, at the right moment, with the right message. The elites have already decided that Cristie will have the nomination, but Cruz could do the fat man some real damage. Cruz does not suffer fools lightly, be they media whores like Gothic Boy David Gregory, or parasite ravaged insiders like McConnell. Rand on the other hand is inclined to be compromising toward those people, which is a mistake.

  7. After the non-incident in Switzerland, you have to wonder if the accusations Oprah made about a store in France a few years ago was truthful. That was also about being told she probably couldn’t afford a purse she wanted to look at.

Oprah pretends to be some kind of spiritual master – so enlightened. Yet, she is proving herself be little more than a manipulative, self-serving, entitled liar. You are so right, Admin, about her using white women to build her fortune – used them, then threw them under the bus. I looked for the video of her nasty little comment about her white female fans, I think it was at that huge, glitzy party she threw for Obama in 2008 – but couldn’t find it.

Like her buddy Obama, Oprah’s true colors are showing, and I don’t mean their blackness. If judged by MLK’s standard: “the content of their character”, both Obama and Oprah are a sickly shade of sleazy.

When I first looked at that video, I thought the cat looked an awful lot like Obama in a hoodie. But then I realized that the cat was working, so I could see I was wrong. If that cat with the hoodie had been playing golf, then my initial impression would have been accurate.

  9. Egyptian army is clearing out pro-Morsi Muslim Brotherhood demonstrators from protest sites. It’s 8:00 a.m. in Cairo.

  10. I was told that when O goes to Santa Fe, the store is closed and items are especially laid out for her review.

Another example of how America worships people, but in Europe they don’t show this adoration. I have to say I prefer the European way.

  11. admin thanks for your comprehensive update on the Ocare fiasco…just like we all knew from the beginning the people…the middle class…will get screwed and everyone and the corporations will clean up…

Oprah feels entitled.she has become a diva…and, more importantly to her, a diva in her own mind…her and her “ah, ah” moments as if she is the carrier and messenger of all the wisdom in the world (and her “thyroid” problem because I guess she did not want to keep up with the strenous exercise and marathons she was pushing a few years ago)….ever notice when she suddenly starts talking in that haughty tone and dialect…she goes from talkin’ down home to this snooty way of talking…it is laughable…very affected

  12. Admin –

That video clip of Rand Paul was eye-opening. I am liking him more and more each day. I want Hillary to run in 2016. I want Rand to win the GOP nomination in 2016. However anyone feels about Senator Bob Dole, he was a great Senator for Texas and lauded by President Clinton as a worthy foil (In fact, after Clinton’s term in office, one of his first post term interviews was conducted at the University of Kansas – Dole’s alma mater). Their debates were fabulous. I would LOVE to see Hillary debate Rand.

I used to be a single payer proponent, and I still am for government-sponsored insurance and not just for catastrophes. But I have evolved from that position as a result of some very educated conservatives (like Rand Paul). There is something to be said for market forces being the controlling engine for cost reduction in this country. Where I differ from my pure conservative ‘friends’ is the car wrapped around that engine. At the highest levels of government, there might be 10 people that could effectively debate this and hash out sound policy. Sadly, they are drowned out right now by the idiots in control, and that goes for the RINOs as well as the idiot dems.

    And now the news……

    At least they are consistent…

Healthcare in this country is about to SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCKKKKK……..

Today’s narrative from the MSM is….

    Hillary 2016

  13. NewMexicoFan, do you mean the items are “laid out for her review” like a buffet? 🙂 That’s one way to get the pig to the trough and eat items up.

  14. BTW, we do apologize to four legged pigs for linking them in any way to Damon, Obama, Winfrey. Four legged pigs have never done us any harm and don’t deserve our censure or jibes. Pigs are unusually smart animal too. Our apologies to four legged pigs for the abuse we have heaped on them in the name of political critique.

  15. White House On Why Politicians Shouldn’t Have To Live In Gun Free Zones: We’re More Important Than You

When the Obama administration announced the petitions feature on the White House website, I thought it was a little silly. A sop to internet populism that would yield little for serious public policy debate.

But I was wrong. A few of the petitions have resulted in interesting responses from the White House, including one about gun free zones.

The petition asks that the armed protection for politicians, including the President and Vice President, be eliminated and replaced by a “gun free zone.”

Gun Free Zones are supposed to protect our children, and some politicians wish to strip us of our right to keep and bear arms.

Those same politicians and their families are currently under the protection of armed Secret Service agents. If Gun Free Zones are sufficient protection for our children, then Gun Free Zones should be good enough for politicians.

The White House response? In so many words, they can’t eliminate their armed guards because they’re more important than we are. Oh, and we need “common sense” gun control that an “overwhelming majority of Americans” supports.

The full response is below, but it’s really not an answer so much as a dodge. I’m in full agreement that politicians are under constant threat, and they absolutely need armed security to keep them safe. But if armed protection is good for political leaders, why not our schools? It’s clear that gun free zones are targets – the Newtown shooter chose an elementary school because it was a gun free zone, and every mass shooting since the 1950 s with one exception has been in a “gun free zone” – so why not take the target off our schools and malls and campuses by ending the absurdity that is the gun free zone?

  16. Not Even TMZ is Buying Oprah’s BS on “Racist” Swiss Shop Encounter
Posted by Jim Hoft on Wednesday, August 14, 2013, 12:07 AM

It’s so bad that Oprah’s even being accused of using the racist flap to push her new movie.

    TMZ reported:

Oprah Winfrey says she’s kinda sorta “sorry” for the fallout that ensued after she told the media about a “racist” encounter at a purse store in Switzerland … saying, “I’m really sorry that it got blown up.”

    Yeah, right…

…Last night, Oprah said … “I think that incident in Switzerland was just an incident in Switzerland.

There are some people who are saying Oprah’s Swiss encounter wasn’t really about race Oprah was just mad she wasn’t treated like Her Royal O-ness because the shop employee didn’t recognize her … but now, after the employee told the media she’s being unfairly attacked, O’s feeling a little guilty.

But pretending not to know about the impact of her race allegations?? That’s like Obama pretending not to know what’s gonna happen if he pushes that big red button in the White House.

  18. Good for Dana Rohrabacher for speaking out! We have all been treated like such fools, but it’s finally falling apart.

Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA), a senior member of the House Science Committee, used a portion of his time at a town hall this week to launch into a rant about global warming, which he described as a plot by liberals to “create global government to control our lives.”

The congressman prefaced his remarks by noting that he wanted to respond to comments from Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), who said recently that ongoing wildfires in Southern California have been exacerbated by a dry season that is the result of climate change. Rohrabacher, speaking Thursday afternoon before the Newport Mesa Tea Party, then launched into a discussion about how the science of global warming has been promulgated by a cabal of scientists, liberal politicians and United Nation “global government” types. These forces, who would like to usurp American liberty, could even be from Nigeria, he warned (partial transcript below, emphasis added):

ROHRABACHER: Just so you know, global warming is a total fraud and it is being designed bywhat you’ve got is you’ve got liberals who get elected at the local level want state government to do the work and let them make the decisions. Then, at the state level, they want the federal government to do it. And at the federal government, they want to create global government to control all of our lives. That’s what the game plan is. It’s step by step by step, more and bigger control over our lives by higher levels of government. And global warming is that strategy in spades.… Our freedom to make our choices on transportation and everything else? No, that’s gotta be done by a government official who, by the way, probably comes from Nigeria because he’s a UN government official, not a US government official.

  19. Stellar new post. So much I did not know. Stellar comments too. Ride on, everybody; ride on!
“They” seem to be paying attention now:
Yesterday I tweeted my observation of 6:30 PM news casts as paraphrased:

I’m giving CBS Evening News and Scott Pelley 50 points for covering the ObamaCare news of the day. It appears ABC & NBC will not be mentioning it at all.

I see where @CBSEveningNews has favorited that tweet. I am stunned.

GOP Now Holding Fewer Town Halls, “Terrified” To Confront Their Constituents
You got me hunting for Lou Barletta who does not represent my district, but has my admiration and financial support. As the mayor of Hazelton PA, he pioneered legislation to ease immigration difficulties within that city. And he continues good immigration work in DC. One of his recent campaign emails expressed his distress that OFA people planned to disrupt him in his district during the August break. Just now I went to his website and found nothing about meetings. [But please note that he had a wonderful nation-wide teleconference a month or so back.] A search turned up the following which I post in its entirety because I want his full statement to be known.
Published nearly two years ago. 8/23/2011.
Rep. Lou Barletta: No open town halls for me
Rep. Lou Barletta (R-Pa.), who ran for office badgering his opponent for not holding town hall meetings, has abandoned the format in favor of roundtable discussions with pre-selected groups, he told the Times Leader of Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Barletta is one of at least four “pay-per-view” members of Congress who POLITICO reported last week are appearing at public events that charge an admission fee, while skipping the public The first-term congressman and former Hazelton mayor told the Times Leader that people protesting at his office and his events asking “Where are the jobs?” should be directing their anger elsewhere. “What other elected officials are having town hall meetings?” Barletta asked. “How can you blame someone who has been in office for eight months why no jobs are coming here? I hope these protesters are asking all elected officials, especially those that have been in office for years, what they are doing to bring jobs here.”
Barletta spokesman Shawn Kelly told POLITICO Tuesday that Barletta has not “ruled out” holding town hall meetings in the future but does not have any scheduled. “We have looked for other formats in the meantime,” he said. “I’m not saying we’re never going to hold them.” Earlier this month, Barletta spoke at a $30-per-plate “CEO-to-CEO” forum hosted by the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Business and Industry. He was one of the freshman members of Congress who took significant heat from constituents during April town hall sessions after Republicans introduced their budget proposal. Reps. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), Ben Quayle (R-Ariz.) and Renee Ellmers (R-N.C.) are also appearing at town-hall-style events that charge admission fees while not holding any free town halls.
In a story headlined “As town halls grow raucous, Barletta turns to roundtables,” the Times Leader notes that Barletta campaigned against former Democratic Rep. Paul Kanjorski’s refusal to hold town hall meetings after his events became hostile. Barletta said he will meet with 12 specific interest groups. Kelly said Kanjorski’s situation “was different because he wouldn’t talk to anyone” while Barletta is meeting with various groups. “I want to reach out to all of these groups to hear their concerns and to let them know what is being done on their behalf in Washington,” Barletta told the paper. “Obviously the political fires are very high here right now.”

  21. Criminy. Had to get this from website for Latinos altho Politico has it somewhere. Was in search of #StopAmnesty bus tour locations. It has already been to VA. Tentative future stops include Harrisburg, Pa.; Dallas, Texas; Toledo, Ohio; and South Carolina

Obama going to be in NY/PA next week. Casey already strutting his latest legislative effort for photo opportunities.

    I’ll keep digging.

  22. Re my 8:25, I failed to connect dots that Obama might be staging a confrontation with TP in PA.

Koch-Funded Franklin Center “Watchdogs” Infiltrate State Capitols
    by Rebekah Wilce — August 14, 2013
“As newsrooms across the country have cut staff reporters — due in part to slipping ad revenue and corporate media conglomeration — the Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity has rushed to fill the gap, as the Center for Media and Democracy (CMD) has documented. The Franklin Center has 40 state news websites, with reporters in 34 states so far. Its reporters have received state house press credentials and its stories appear as news in mainstream print newspapers in each state WITHOUT ALERTING READERS TO THE HEAVY RIGHT-WING BIAS OF THE FRANKLIN-RELATED PUBLICATIONS….

  24. Excerpt from link to The Atlantic, The Rock posted.

If this poll is a valid representation of the political views of seniors, the Pubs can blame MSM, who have obviously, sufficiently and effectively repeated Barack’s standard excuse for his failures: those pesky Republicans just won’t compromise.

“Seniors’ approval of the GOP-led House has dropped from 45 percent in early 2011 to 22 percent today. They have gone from identifying more as Republicans than Democrats by a 10-point margin to identifying more as Democrats than Republicans by a 6-point margin. Fifty-five percent say the GOP is too extreme, and 52 percent say it is “out of touch” and “dividing the country.”

In the July survey, large majorities of seniors agreed with progressive economic proposals, including protecting Medicare benefits (89 percent), raising working women’s pay (87 percent) and expanding access to child care for working parents (77 percent). But seniors also took issue with the GOP on social concerns: slim majorities called the Republican Party “extreme” on aid to the poor (53 percent), immigration (53 percent), gay rights (52 percent), and gun violence (51 percent).”

Greenberg is a Democratic pollster, to be sure. But his work is widely respected on both sides of the aisle. Republican pollster Whit Ayres didn’t question the idea that seniors are souring on the GOP. “I don’t think any Republican pollster who’s looking at the numbers is sanguine about the state of the Republican brand at this point,” he said. “You are going to see the impact of the damaged brand in every demographic group.”

Nonetheless, Ayres noted, Greenberg’s survey still has Republicans poised to win in 2014, if by a narrower margin than the 2010 wave. “What is striking to me in this survey is that the generic ballot is a dead heat,” he said. “Republicans are actually one point ahead.”

Seifert, however, believes Republicans’ advantage could erode if the party keeps up its emphasis on pure obstructionism in Washington. “We used to hear a sort of equal-opportunity anti-Washington, anti-partisan line from voters in our focus groups,” she said. “Increasingly, they’re shifting that blame to Republicans for just saying no and refusing to compromise.”

Hillary AGAINST voter ID Pandering to AA community.

Yep. As Hillary said on that video, racial discrimination exists in election practices. I think she just may be incorrect about which race is doing the discriminating, and which is on the receiving end. The answer was pretty obvious in the 2008 primary.

  27. “Another example of how America worships people, but in Europe they don’t show this adoration. I have to say I prefer the European way.”

Ain’t that the truth, New Mex Fan. How sickening is it that Obama is enlisting the aid of celebrities to sell his Obamacare? What’s more appalling is that it will probably work. I mean, who better to give advice about health insurance than people who don’t know a damn thing about, and who have so much money that they don’t really have to have it?

  28. Another Executive Order

Obama issued an Executive order on August 1, 2013 that will effectively ban Ammonium Nitrate in the USA. It will become too expensive and create too much possible civil and criminal liability to manufacture, store, or transport it. Clinton did the same thing to Anhydrous Ammonia dealers in 1999. It put most Anhydrous dealers out of business. Obama is imposing the same regs and adding explosives regulations on top of OSHA and EPA regulations. It’s all there if you know how to read bureacratese.

Tannerite will probably be banned outright as soon as DHS & BATFE finish making policy based on this E.O. Whether or not they can criminalize it I don’t know. You can count on it being taken off the market though. The government has had it’s sights on Tannerite for a long time now.

Food and Fuel prices will skyrocket because Ammonium Nitrate forms the basis for almost all nitrogen in granular fertilizers used in American farming. There are no cost and ease of manufacture/use equivalents for ammonium nitrate. Supply and demand economics are going to be the harsh lesson of the day. Crop yields will go down. Corn is the basis for the American food supply and the fuel additive ethanol. A.N. is critical in corn production.

Hope everyone is ready for $12/gallon gasoline and $20 a box corn flakes.

  30. No surprise here. Putin is rubbing Obama’s hopey changey snout in the mud, and making him like it. If I were in Putin’s shoes, and saw an opportunity to take down the indispensible nation, then I would join Soros and do so. Of course, I do not want that to happen. But with Hillary now opposing voter identification laws and promoting illegal immigration, no explicitly of course, but by the policies she endorses, and by the treason we see with big media, it is rather obvious that my voice and those of other patriotic Americans is being drowned out by the establishment. Is avoiding any possibility of racial discrimination more important than sovereignty? If we are really interested in avoiding racial discrimination, why did Obama deep six the Black Panther case? Is the Democrat Party willing to destroy our future so that it can maintain a grip on power and promote the centralization of all political power in Washington for the benefit of the elites, and contrary to the vision of Madison and Jefferson? Is the Hamiltonian nightmare of a government of the elites, by the elites and for the elites come to pass? That runs so contrary to my core beliefs that I know for a fact that I cannot be part of it. I would question those beliefs if I felt the elites had the integrity and competence to take these decisions out of the hands of the people, without simply seeking to enrich themselves. But the best test case for their efficacy is the middle east, where we have witnessed a sectarian inspired genocide and a melt down of American Power at the hands of our Harvard trained elites.

  31. Exploiting Obama’s Foreign Policy Retreat

Why did Vladimir Putin thumb his nose at the U.S. in the Snowden affair? Because he could.

‘We are extremely disappointed,” the White House press secretary said after Moscow granted asylum to fugitive NSA leaker Edward Snowden. A nice understatement. Washington is now looking at the greatest counterintelligence failure since the Rosenbergs betrayed nuclear know-how to Stalin some 60 years ago. Now the Russians have Mr. Snowden’s hard disks to unearth more U.S. secrets than could be stolen by a battalion of spies.

President Vladimir Putin has it in his hands to endlessly embarrass the U.S. by releasing choice bits and pieces from the Snowden trove, or to threaten to do so to keep Washington on its best behavior. After this slap, “extremely disappointed” is the diplomatic equivalent of pouting—unbecoming to a great power.

Why did Mr. Putin decide to thumb his nose at the U.S. after playing cat-and-mouse for six weeks? Easy—because he could. He has taken the measure of Barack Obama, concluding that there isn’t much there there, to paraphrase the president on the State Department’s emails about Benghazi.

The Russian leader has been checking off the weak spots since Mr. Obama’s 2009 inauguration—in disbelief at first, no doubt, then with growing brashness. It started with the Cairo speech in June of that year, where Mr. Obama made nice to the Islamic Middle East, Iran included. A few months later came the White House cave-in on a Europe-based antimissile system the Russians had vehemently opposed. This was part of the celebrated “reset”—but Moscow got to pocket something for nothing, a no-no in great-power politics.

    Associated Press

American turncoat Edward Snowden, second from left, was shown on Russian television leaving Sheremetyevo Airport outside Moscow after he was granted asylum, Aug. 1.

The Kremlin has also noticed how Mr. Obama has basically scotched the military option against Iran’s nuclear-arms program. So has the Khamenei regime in Tehran, which keeps enticing Washington with talks resembling a minuet: bow, circle, return to the starting point. In Libya, the U.S. was “leading from behind,” in Syria, not at all. Cutting the defense budget has been the order of the day, with or without the sequester.

So if you’re Vladimir Putin, why not probe more deeply?

Consider the gauntlets flung down by Russia earlier this year. One is the delivery of sophisticated Yakhont antiship missiles to the Assad regime in Syria. Hard to detect and even harder to destroy, these missiles would pose a serious threat to U.S. naval forces if the weapons were ever deployed to the eastern Mediterranean. Israel regarded the danger sufficient to level a storage site in Syria’s port city of Latakia on July 5.

Moscow keeps denying that it has delivered the mobile S-300 air defense system to Assad. The up-to-date version, the S-300PMU-2, would be a game-changer, engaging planes at all altitudes, as well as cruise missiles. Yes, the U.S. Air Force could take them out—but it won’t be the kind of easy bombing campaign that helped rout Moammar Gadhafi in Libya.

Also in the spring, the Russians dispatched about a dozen warships to the eastern Mediterranean, according to press reports. This was a classic, 19th-century show of force to show resolve and to deter. If the U.S. actually did move against Assad, it would have to put serious sea power in the area. And risk a naval clash with Russia just to topple a bad guy? Anyway, the Sixth Fleet that used to patrol the Mediterranean went long ago, except for a single command ship.

The Kremlin’s message: We shall protect our Syrian asset, the Assad regime. And the Russians have plenty of battle-hardened company: Hezbollah on the ground, Iran nearby. While Secretary of State John Kerry is investing in a sideshow—the Israeli-Palestinian peace—Moscow and Tehran are securing a foothold on the Mediterranean. Preventing Russia from reinserting itself in the Middle East has been a top American priority since the 1970s.

Mr. Obama’s America seems to be withdrawing from the great-power table in favor of “nation-building at home,” as the president keeps repeating. In his May speech at National Defense University, Mr. Obama vowed to end the war on terror and to curtail drone strikes, America’s best weapon in an age of “asymmetric warfare.” He means it. Last week, Mr. Kerry promised to end drone attacks in Pakistan “very, very soon.”

Terror International will not junk its suicide vests in return. The world is being treated to a first in the history of great-power politics. Traditionally, the might of nations was hemmed in by others in an endless game of pressure and counter-pressure. Now, the reigning superpower is proposing to neutralize itself—no foes needed. The nation that invented containment in the Cold War is now playing with self-containment.

So don’t blame Mr. Putin for what ambitious powers always do, which is to probe their rivals’ positions on the periphery—as Beijing is doing in the war of nerves over some tiny islands in the South China Sea. America is turning into a huge medium-power, like an XXL France—a nation that still shows some great-power reflexes as in nearby Libya and Mali, but cannot take care of global business. When the Europeans ran out of ammunition in Libya, the U.S. stepped in. But if America shrugs off global responsibility, nobody else will shoulder it.

Mr. Obama’s central problem is philosophical. Just as nature abhors a vacuum, so does the state system. The president apparently believes that the U.S. can safely retract because giants no longer roam the earth. Alas, the chickens of indifference always come home to roost as birds of prey. In the 1930s, the coldblooded opportunists were Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. In our time, it is second-rate powers like Russia and Iran, and non-nations like Hezbollah, that are taking on the United States, and they do so because they can.

Their calculus should give pause to Mr. Obama, who is routinely compared to Jimmy Carter. But Mr. Carter learned a lot faster. In May 1977, he had pronounced America “free of that inordinate fear of communism.” After the Soviet lunge into Afghanistan in December 1979, he noted wistfully: “This action . . . has made a more dramatic change in my own opinion of what the Soviets’ ultimate goals are than anything they’ve done in the previous time I’ve been in office.”

It took Jimmy Carter only three years to grasp the cruel game of nations. And what it takes to be the “indispensable nation,” a term coined by another Democratic president, Bill Clinton. Mr. Obama seems to have forgotten that he used exactly the same words a year ago: “America remains the one indispensable nation in world affairs.” There is no other.

Mr. Joffe teaches U.S. foreign policy at Stanford University, where he is also a fellow at the Hoover Institution and the Institute for International Studies. His book “The Myth of America’s Decline” will be published by Norton in the fall.

  32. “Tell Vladimir that I will have more flexibility after the election”–Obama whisper to the Russian President captured by a hot mic. Well, here is what the flexibility he alluded to looks like in the real world. Notice the gratuitous comment by Senator John McNut from Arizona–the most deluded man in Congress. Putin’s decision to give whistle blower Snowden asylum was a “slap in the face to ‘all Americans”? All Americans? Really?? Give me a fucking break . . .

Obama’s Foreign Policy of Flinch and Retreat

When Obama met Putin at the Group of 8 session in Northern Ireland a couple of months ago. One saw an uncertain welterweight bobbing around a heavyweight who knows precisely what he wants. (snip)

There was no thought or mention of canceling the summit until Edward Snowden, the errant intelligence contractor who has been spraying secrets like water from a hose, got asylum in Russia a few weeks ago. The White House is simply too embarrassed to acknowledge that the president is sulking about Putin’s “slap in the face to all Americans,” as Senator John McCain put it. So the summit plans are scotched and this is explained with all manner of sophisticated-sounding policy judgments that would be wrong even if they were real. Like it or not, Snowden’s visa is legal by international law. Putin’s “slap,” and it was one, was to suggest that justice may not always be available in this country.

The larger matter at work concerns what the Russian leader most deeply wants. He wants to retrieve Russia’s great-power status. He wants an equal relationship with America. There are no tea leaves to read. Thoughtful Russians say this all the time. One of Obama’s themes over the past few days has been that Putin is still stuck in the Cold War. Wrong again. The Cold War crushed Russia, and it is Putin who wants to get beyond it. The truth is that neither side has managed this project so far. If Senator McCain is not an unreconstructed Cold warrior, and Cold War politics did not inform Obama’s decision, then truly I do not understand.

Putin’s ambition has just crystalized the most comprehensive challenge Washington now faces. It is the challenge of living in a world of multiple poles. Russia has for centuries been understood as the very emblem of non-Western power. (Our term “the West” was coined in response to the czarist rise.) And it is the accumulation of power among non-Western nations that America will have to face if it is to thrive in the 21st century.

Flinching and retreating of the sort we have just watched, and then making up excuses for it, will cost us dearly. The task is to advance, even though the ground is unfamiliar, and some tough customers inhabit it.

Readers who grasp the logic of the Obama administration’s decision a few days ago to cancel some greatly needed face time with the Hefty Russian are invited to share their insight by commenting below.

  34. Dana Carvey, The Rodeo Clown and The Head On A Stick

“You Are Ruled By Those You Are Not Allowed To Criticize.” – Voltaire

It seems a rodeo clown there came up with the idea of running around in front of an angry bull wearing a Barack Obama Mask. It wasn’t hilariously funny. Better than Letterman’s jokes about A-Rod knocking up Sarah Palin’s children between HGH injections, but not on a level with vintage Dana Carvey SNL. The Left was of course tolerate and patient. They decided to just let the lowbrows do their “Dance of The Sloping Foreheads.” It’s just comedy they reasoned. It can’t hurt anyone. Oh Wait….

Just listen to how detestable liberals who thought Dana Carvey was “just kidding” and that the poor props guys over on Game of Thrones used “inappropriate judgement” have reacted. Will nobody rid them of this insane clown posse?!

The audience was asked, over a public address system, if it wanted to see Mr. Obama “run down by a bull.” Many people present clapped and cheered, according to one witness, Perry Beam. “It was feeling like some kind of Klan rally,” said Mr. Beam.

It was just “comedy” after all. What type of a world leader can’t take an occasional joke at his expense? It’s not like he was accused of being the Devil by a 3rd World dictator at UN HQ or anything. No. Apparently Americans are dumb enough to actually vote for the type of world leader that can’t take a joke. And not only that, we must now have more sensitive rodeo clowns.*** I assure you that you can’t distract 800 lbs of pissed-off beef-on-the-hoof without the ability to make that latte’ with just the right froth.

But the state commission went further Monday, saying it will require that before the Missouri Rodeo Cowboy Association can take part in any future state fair, “they must provide evidence to the director of the Missouri State Fair that they have proof that all officials and subcontractors of the MRCA have successfully participated in sensitivity training.”

This is how great nations die and go to Hell in a hand basket. We’ve got people who oppose our way of life in Syria who show off in front of You-Tube by eating the guts of the people they’ve killed on the battlefield. We’ve got cultural enemies in Yemen who deliberately contract marriage with and deflower 6-year-old girls so that other men won’t kidnap them because they are no longer virginal. And who is in charge of America? Our guy is so thin-skinned that Rodeo Clowns get sent to sensitivity training for making fun of him during a bull-riding event. No wonder President Putin has told us point-blank he’ll arrest any activist gays he finds on our Olympic Team. This assumes we can still compete in places where the venue coordinators haven’t been to the appropriate sensitivity training.

But ultimately this feigned outrage, this shock over the fact that The Great State of Missouri doesn’t have sensitive Rodeo Clowns is a power play. It is a way to impose a set of cultural values and a way of life on others through authoritarian bullying. When The NAACP demands that the DOJ and Secret Service get called in to investigate an immature rodeo clown, this is deliberate and targeted overkill. The Fascist power of being professionally offended should never be underestimated. After all, Voltaire was very perceptive about the power that comes with being immune from any type of negative critique.

*-Not quite as amusing as the time when teenaged Ivan The Terrible actually did play war against the other kids using live ammo, but still an odd choice for a date night if you ask me

  35. “Putin’s decision to give whistle blower Snowden asylum was a “slap in the face to ‘all Americans”? All Americans? Really?? Give me a fucking break . . .”

Right, wbb. It doesn’t feel like a slap, does it, at least not by Snowden. It does feel, however, like a stab in the back by Obama’s government.

I love that description of O’s actions: “Flinch and retreat”. It so perfectly describes the situation.

I would be very skeptical of that article.

The source is suspect because the Atlantic is a journolister blog. That fact alone speaks volumes. And the message it conveys proves it.

Simply put, the message of this article is inconsistent with the world as we know it. Poll after poll show that seniors hate Obama care. If that is true, they why would they defect to the party that is the architect of that toxic law? That alone does not make sense.

But consider the explanation for this great migration which the article presumes to proffer. Seniors are leaving because the Republican Party is too obstructionist. The weight of the evidence suggests the opposite. The reason seniors stayed home in 2012, and the reason the grass roots is revolting now is because the Republican Party is unwilling to fight. And that is the opposite of being obstructionist.

Finally, who is it that advances the false meme that the Republican Party is too obstructionist? You know. It is the Obama Administration, and their fellow travelers in big media. On the odds, and given the pedigree of the Atlantic, they are the ones who planted this propaganda piece for the express purpose of bamboozling their audience.

Trust me, this is planted evidence. It conclusion should be rejected accordingly. And what does the Democrat Party have to offer them that the Republican Party does not? Death Panels?

  37. The things I found admirable and encouraging about Hillary in 2008 included a willingness to confront the consequences of unbridled capitalism. Regardless of what she runs on, I do believe at the end of the day that she would make some effort to reign in those forces. Thinking back to 2008 for example, she took a stand on NAFTA–that it needed to be revisited because of its harmful effect on American workers–particularly industrial unions. Also, she talked about the need to regulate in hedge funds which placed her at odds with Soros and others of his ilk. Now that big media, a tool of those same capitalists, is rallying around her, beginning with the announcement by Bill Keller former editor of the NYT after she declined to primary Obama, I worry that politicians being what they are, those prior positions would be abandoned for the sake of political expediency.

My doubts in this regard are partially assuaged by two things. First, I attended a town hall meeting a couple years ago with an undersecretary of Commerce in the Clinton Administration. He was peddling a book he had written which purported to trace the precarious balance between business interests and government from the middle ages to the present time. He commented on how at some point after signing NAFTA Bill came to realize that the pre-occupation with the efficient market theories of Friendman and others had created a serious imbalance in power favoring capitalists. Therefore, I would expect that Hillary would see the same problems, and take some steps to rein it in, but that is merely and assumption. Second, the only thing I am sure of is that her likely opponent, the fat man from New Jersey, will do absolutely nothing to rein in the power of capitalists. He is the perfect dance partner for Oprah–two pigs in a blanket. Like Brazil and Roland Martin. Or Roly Poly Candy Crowley–so fat she does not need a dance partner.

  38. Another thought came back to me about that former Clinton official. He said that Bill said, in continuing the policies of Reagan, we have been too focused on the top line number which I interpreted to mean GDP growth, and not looking at the numbers underneath it such as declining family income, etc. If Hillary runs, and defeats the surly fat man, then I expect that some attention will be given to that phenomenon, whereas now, under Obama, it is completely ignored. They spend more time worrying about rodeo clowns than they do about family income.

  39. Admin-

Watch how easy it is for Rand Paul to demolish ObamaCare on… the Daily Show???

I gained more respect for the delivery of that explanation by Rand Paul then I have in anything else he has said in the past. Normally I only liked his dad and Rand gave me the mini-creeps. He gets 4 points for this from me.

The Obama’s, OhPah, Matt and all the other racists are do different than white supremacists.

    1- Overpopulate
    2- Gain supremacy by numbers
3- Spread hate and drive out the other races
4- Violence is necessary if there is no submission
5- Steal everything you can from the intruders

Yup, the Obama years have set us back to the 1950’s with more sophisticated weapons.

Hillary AGAINST voter ID Pandering to AA community.

What would have been even more appropriate for Hillary to add..that in 2008, these same tactics of suppressing votes was done in many states, to her own voters. Hillary voters were locked out of precincts, votes were literally stolen and ACORN pulled every dirty trick in the book to stomp out the Hillary vote.

Hillary voters were and continue to be demonized much more than AA voters.

  42. Reggie Love Talks Decision Making in the Oval Office

Well, Reggie pretty much confirmed in his interview that Barack does almost nothing in the business of running our country. He campaigned, even when the attack and killing of Bin Laden was going on, he said he couldn’t send much of his time watching, so when went and played cards instead.

Get this scam artist out of our Oval!!!!!!!!!

Right man, right time, right place…I think your right!

Rand, I too have noticed his compromising, does not bode well for him IMHO.

I am liking Cruz more each day. I want someone who will stand for something and not back down. We will have to see what the future brings for him. I have thought a few were made of the meddle, but alas were not. America needs a champion. I do not believe we can stand 3 more years of the fool on the hill.

About the cat, your right again, that is a working cat…fool wouldn’t know one if he saw one.

Peggy Noonan Calls for the White House to Comment on the New Crushing of Dissent; White House Obliges, With a Spokesman Essentially Saying He Supports the Lifetime Ban for Politically-Disfavored Speech

Peggy Noonan also called for the president to make a “classy” gesture and inform his more wild-eyed supporters that we’re still permitted to criticize our political leaders. Incredibly, this right persists even when the leaders in question are, yes, black.

This is the reason many people don’t like ObamaCare. It’s also part of why people wind up making fun of the president at state fairs. (On that, everyone should breathe deep and remember, as the noted political philosopher Orson Welles once put it: “It’s the business of the American people to take the mickey out of the president.” It’s not only what we do, it’s what we should do. Welles was speaking on a talk show; it was the 1970s; he was talking about people making fun of some Republican president, Nixon or Ford. So what? They can take it. And they’re not kings. Let me suggest a classy Obama move that might go over well. From his Vineyard vacation spot he should have the press office issue a release saying his reaction to finding out a rodeo clown was rudely spoofing him, was, “So what?” Say he loves free speech, including inevitably derision directed at him, and he does not wish for the Missouri state fair to fire the guy, and hopes those politicians (unctuously, excessively, embarrassingly) damning the clown and the crowd would pipe down and relax. This would be graceful and nice, wouldn’t it? He would never do it. He gives every sign of being a person who really believes he shouldn’t be made fun of, and if he is it’s probably racially toned, because why else would you make fun of him?
Peggy Noonan is right to note that Obama is so narcissistic to believe the only reason someone might have to not be smitten with him is racial animus.

This is not a delusion confined to Obama, however; it dominates the minds of his cultists.

The White House has heeded the call for comment on the new Speechcraft Trials. By supporting the New Inquisitors.

While the president has not offered his thoughts on the controversy, a White House spokesperson who is also a Missouri native said the incident was “certainly not one of the finer moments in our state.”
He means the mockery — not the subsequent state ban-for-life for political speech.

And the Inquisitors’ work is not yet done — but then, Inquisitors’ work is never done. There are always new dimensions to the heresies to be uncovered.

The rodeo clown and the organization that hired him have apologized for the incident. The president of the Missouri Rodeo Cowboy Association has resigned and the clown has been “banned for life” from performing at the state fair. A number of state officials have condemned the clown and the NAACP has called for a full investigation into the incident.
Of course the left is fully in support of the Inquisition — you didn’t really think they were serious about Free Speech and “dissent is the highest form of patriotism,” did you? A representative piece comes from Tommy Christopher, Mediaite’s go-to clown for defending the indefensible (no link).

Tommy the Simpleton seems to think we need to restrict free speech rights because #Justice4Trayvon.

It seems like only yesterday when the conservative media went from ignoring the killing of unarmed 17 year-old Trayvon Martin to shrieking at the top of their lungs that President Obama should shut his Kenyan yap about it. Maybe that’s because it pretty much was yesterday, but a new day has dawned, and the conservative media has found something of sufficient gravity for the President to weigh in on: a rodeo clown whose minstrelsy has drawn the condemnation of Republicans in the former Confederate State of Missouri.

[T]he [Peggy Noonan reference to Obama’s ten billionth Martha’s Vinyard vacation] was a nice touch, and so is the subtle inference that the President isn’t “classy,” but it’s Peggy Noonan‘s feigned ignorance about the “racially toned” nature of the show that’s really priceless. While it’s true that there is no history of racists putting on whiteface and explaining politics to people as they would to a sleeping toddler that they don’t want to wake up, Peggy Noonan is still old enough and wise enough to understand what was wrong with this. That she then expects to snap her fingers and have the President do a tapdance for her so she’ll think he’s “classy” is the white icing on the privilege cake.

Incidentally, if we’re talking about Racist References to President Downtime’s frequent vacations, then I have to give the editors at Twitchy props for the most Racist headline ever about President Seven Iron.

And, from @championcapua, let’s check in to find out what the Smartest Woman in the World thought about punishing free speech just a few short years back.

( I know they are being sarcastic, but Hillary was right)

  45. ACE
But let’s entertain this idea that the rodeo clown’s silly prank was a “threat.” Have any previous presidents similarly suffered such threats? And if so, what Lifetime Bans befell the perpetrators?

As far as the use of violent imagery and the president is concerned, the Bush years saw imagery much more serious than a bump from a bull. For example, the 2006 film “Death of a President” was a faux-documentary that told the story of a fictional Bush assassination, including a graphic depiction of the Bush character being shot in the chest. After its premiere at the Toronto film festival, where it won the International Critics Prize, “Death of a President” was handled by a major American distributor, Newmarket Films, and was reviewed, seriously and on its own terms, by the Washington Post, New York Times and other major press outlets. The film’s makers were not banned for life from the movie industry or anything else; the director has since made several films that have shown at festivals around the world and is now working on a documentary on David Bowie.
In the 2004 novella “Checkpoint,” author Nicholson Baker depicted a conversation between two men planning to assassinate Bush. “He’s one dead armadillo,” says one character, speaking of the president. The Washington Post was impressed by the book’s “fanciful flourishes and fierce, furious fits of anger.” Baker was not banned from anything and is still writing and being published today.

In June 2006, Alan Hevesi, then the comptroller of the state of New York, delivered a college commencement address in which he paid tribute to Democratic Sen. Charles Schumer by calling him “the man who, how do I phrase this diplomatically, who will put a bullet between the president’s eyes if he could get away with it.” Hevesi later apologized, explaining that he merely intended to praise Schumer’s courage and toughness. Hevesi was not banned from office; he was, in fact, re-elected as comptroller later in 2006. (He didn’t stay much longer, resigning when he was indicted on corruption charges.)

America is in a very strange and dark place.

Reggie Love Talks Decision Making in the Oval Office 🙂

That young man is proof that there are/were good people in Bumbles employ. Shadow, THAT FREAKED ME OUT WHEN HE SAID THEY WERE PLAYING SPADES WHEN BIN LADEN RAID WAS GOING ON!!!!!!!!! I do NOT in any way blame him for what he did or how he carried out his duties, but I think that even Reggie thought that was kind of askew that the boss didn’t want to watch the raid. The inflection in his voice changed ever so subtly.

Mee-chelle is brilliant, eh? That was the one place he lost points with me. Congress has no spine, so for 2016 we must wait….

    Hillary 2016

  47. What “higher office” and when?:

Newark Mayor Cory Booker (D) took another step toward the Senate Tuesday when he easily won the Democratic nomination in New Jersey. Republican nominee Steve Lonegan isn’t expected to be more than an also-ran against Booker, meaning the Newark mayor has basically punched his ticket to Washington.

Which raises the question: What kind of senator would Booker be? From the get-go, he would be poised to become the highest-profile member of the Democratic Caucus. [snip]

“I don’t want to just go down there and become a part of the system. I want to change it and create change for real people,” Booker told NBC News on Monday. “There’s in some ways a lack of imagination on a lot of people’s parts.”

That sure doesn’t sound like someone who wants to be a wallflower. And nothing in Booker’s career suggests he would be a quiet presence in the Senate. As mayor, he has already become a national figure, regularly appearing on Sunday shows and other network news programs. He has more than 1.4 million followers on Twitter, which he uses actively. And Booker comes from a state where he can cut a liberal Senate profile without having to worry about it hurting him back home.

Booker would also be the only black Democrat in the Senate. Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) is currently the only black senator. [snip]

Booker pollster Joel Benenson noted that “it is important to remember that there is still the general election in October and Mayor Booker knows he has to campaign hard to win,” and added, “Booker knows that if he gets to serve in the Senate that being well-known is no substitute for hard work it takes to persuade people to work together and get things done. [snip]

But for Booker, who clearly has designs on higher office (why else would he be running for the Senate?) there is a gap that is begging to be filled.

    Benenson was Obama’s pollster.

  48. “Petty Woman”?

Winfrey took offense, presuming that she was being offered less-expensive bags because she was black.

“That’s not true,” Adriana said. “That is absurd. I would never say anything like that to a customer.”

In Pretty Woman, one of the iconic scenes is having Julia going back to the fancy store that mocked her before and turned her away, and asking, “Do you work on commission??”.

Orca “Petty Woman” Winfrey would like the world to believe that the salesperson would prefer to cut her commission in half by showing her “the cheaper stuff you could afford”.

Like Judge Judy says, “If it doesn’t make sense, it’s probably not true”.

  49. “Clearly, any family may be visited by federally paid agents for almost any reason.” According to an Obamacare provision millions of Americans will be targeted. The Health and Human Services’ website states that your family will be targeted if you fall under the “high-risk” categories below: Read more: http://freedomoutpost.com/2013/08/obamacare-provision-forced-home-inspections/#ixzz2bz5DilxI

  50. While the clown may have been offensive to some, the implication this incident was about race is beyond absurd. Of course, everything is about race if it involves either criticizing or poking fun at Obama. It’s how he keeps his critics and would-be critics quiet.

IMO the very worst thing about this whole incident has been the rancor and vengeful spirit with which people have verbally attacked this clown. The operative word here is CLOWN! They’re supposed to be funny. Just like Leno, Letterman, Colbert, and others are supposed to be funny – and they are often at their funniest when they zing Obama.

When did it become ok to destroy another American’s life just for acting in a manner that some in the country find offensive. This man, who no doubt needs to work, has lost his freaking job. And, he did nothing that wasn’t done to Bush, Clintons, and right down the line. As someone mentioned earlier, S. Palin was burned in effigy. Did anyone in government or MSM give a shit? Not much of one.

Remember back in 2008, when Obama, referring to Sarah Palin, made that lipstick on a pig comment? I remember reading a post one of the Hillary forums or blogs from back then. The poster said that she had just gone to an indoor rally or meeting of some kind for Barack, and he was to be present to speak. She was a McCain supporter, but just wanted to see Barack read his speech. When she walked in the door, the first thing she saw was a pig with lipstick on it. (The poster didn’t say, but I’m guessing it was a fake pig. Live ones are very difficult to put make-up on).

To intentionally try to destroy another person’s life because they exercised their right of free speech, even if some people didn’t like what they were saying, should be a damn effing hate crime.

Barack, Holder, and MSM crucified Zimmerman – now his wife is to be prosecuted for perjury, I read today.

Oprah’s lies have scared the shit out of a store clerk in Switzerland, and for what? For freaking publicity, and to further incite racial discord. Thankfully, the clerk didn’t lose her job, as we know. But, would Oprah have given a damn if she had. We all know the answer to than.

In the case of Paula Deen, they might as well have drawn and quartered her. And, now the case against her has been dismissed.

People make mistakes. Even the progs. Especially the progs. and their small-minded, leader whose disposition is as nasty, surly, and spiteful as that pig he put lipstick on. Sometimes we need to let some stuff go. And Barack, especially, needs to get over himself.

How Hillary Clinton can win in 2016
    By Douglas E. Schoen

    Published August 14, 2013

Aug. 12, 2013: Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton speaks to the American Bar Association Annual Meeting in San Francisco. (AP)

    2016 is in the air.

Vice President Joe Biden is heading to Iowa next month to be the keynote speaker at Senator Tom Harkin’s steak fry fundraiser, an event that often showcases speakers aspiring to be president.

Things are heating up, too, on the Republican side with the latest war of words between Governor Chris Christie and Senator Rand Paul; discussion of Senator Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio’s chances; questions as to whether Congressman Paul Ryan will be mounting another campaign and whether a centrist like Senator John McCain or Mitt Romney will be the choice once more.

But with all these question marks swirling around the wide field for 2016, there remains one forgone conclusion amongst pundits on both sides. If Hillary Clinton wants the nomination, it’s hers for the taking.

In order to separate herself from Obama’s legacy, Clinton must systematically address the economy and jobs in a way that resonates with a frustrated electorate.

Indeed, she holds a substantial lead in polls against her most likely Democrat opponent, Joe Biden. According to a new Rasmussen poll, 39 percent of those surveyed said that if the 2016 Democratic primary were held today they would want Clinton as compared to 7 percent for Biden. And while there are many who are not interested in having Clinton as the nominee – 27 percent said that she was their least favorite candidate – it is clear that she is the one to beat.

Clinton not only leads the Democratic field in polls, but also leads potential Republican challengers. In fact, a new PPP poll shows that Clinton could make Georgia a swing state. She leads Rand Paul, Paul Ryan, Jeb Bush and Chris Christie in a head-to-head in the Peach State. And she has been collecting praise from Republicans including Newt Gingrich who said that the GOP is “incapable of competing” in 2016 if she is the nominee.

Though it looks as if Clinton should run away with the nomination, she faces a series of challenges that she must address if she is to be the next president of the United States.

First and foremost, Clinton will have to contend with President Obama’s sinking approval ratings. Just last week he suffered his largest dip in the last two years: 7 points in one day.

His press conference on Friday did little to raise confidence in his and his administration’s ability to manage the fallout from Edward Snowden’s leaks and an overreaching NSA, the upcoming fiscal battle with House Republicans, foreign policy especially vis-à-vis Russia, not to mention getting the economy back on track.

In order to separate herself from Obama’s legacy – which is increasingly in doubt – Clinton must systematically address the economy and jobs in a way that resonates with a frustrated electorate. As it stands, 52 percent of Americans think the economy is in recession. And unemployment sunk to 7.4 percent in August.

The president has been emphasizing economic policies for the middle class as he tours the U.S., but has given very few details as to how he will promote economic growth and create jobs.

It follows that the central theme of the Clinton reemergence must be revitalizing the economy with a coherent set of pro-growth policies.

We need to see incentives for businesses to invest; tax code reform; a plan to facilitate the continued vitality of Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. And perhaps most of all we need a plan to balance the federal budget as we face another government shutdown on October 1.

A successful Clinton run for the White House will most certainly have to highlight the unity and singularity of the American experience in promoting a new and attainable American dream.

We have seen far too much division in Washington politics – from both sides of the aisle and the president himself. With strong support in the minority community, amongst young voters and moderates and independents, Clinton has the chance to be the great unifier that we need so badly by promoting policies that benefit everyone.

To be sure, Clinton has everything going for her right now. But she also has her work cut out for her.

She must tread carefully, defining herself as distinct from President Obama while still showing support for an agenda that she will be inexorably linked to from her time as Secretary of State, especially vis-à-vis foreign policy.

2016 is Clinton’s for the taking, but only if she can put forward a set of policies that show she is thinking not like a Democrat or Republican but as an American.

  54. If that clown had put a little more thought into it, he would have put a cape on the bull with the words–Benghazi, IRS, Fast and Furious, sinking economy, middle east meltdown, NSA, and the caption would read its not a bull that is chasing Obama, it is the truth.

Reggie Love spills the beans in an interview. Reggie Love is asked to talk about the day Osama Bin Laden was killed. Reggie explains:

“Most people were like down in the Situation Room and [President Obama] was like, ‘I’m not going to be down there, I can’t watch this entire thing,’ So he, myself, Pete Souza the White House photographer, Marvin, we must have played 15 hands, 15 games of spades.”

Apparently YouTube is already working at protecting the White House, and has already scrubbed evidence of the Reggie Love interview. An alternative YouTube link (below) was found with the segment in question, hat tip ORYR. The full 8:59 minute interview can be viewed here at LiveLeak.

Heartache: Liberal Filmmaker Oliver Stone Calls Obama a “Snake,” Implores Fellow Libs To “Turn On Him”…

Film director Oliver Stonewho has made no secret of his liberal political viewscalled President Barack Obama a “snake” for his role in National Security Agency spying programs that have become, he said, more about silencing protestors than finding terrorists.

“Obama is a snake,” Stone told an audience in Tokyo on Monday. “He’s a snake. And we have to turn on him.”

  58. What we see in this long hot summer of 2013 is the McCarthyism of the left, and big media as the new Gestapo. The motive for this is explained here. I say it is a diversionary move designed to mask policy failures and the emergence of a totalitarian state. This is not at all the progressivism of the early twentieth century, which was a reaction to the excesses of the post Guilded Age of the post Civil War era. Globalists have appropriated that word to cover their successful attempt to destroy the nation state, bring down America and build a new world order. This is not an assumption. Soros has been more than candid on this point. The Oprah incident is not an isolated event . . . As I have said before, false charges of racism are the last bastion of scoundrels.
While we in America must come to grips with the notion that the exclusive stores of France and Switzerland have unconscious biases, perhaps regarding her latest incident, there might be another reason. As John Hinderaker of Power Line asks in a post titled “The Long, Hot Summer of 2013?”, rounding up several non-race race incidents, such as the George Zimmerman murder trial, and incidents involving current and former NFL players Riley Cooper and Hugh Douglas, a banana-throwing disgruntled baseball fan, the not-exactly infamous blue-on-blue Missouri rodeo clown, and now Oprah, Hinderaker responds:

What should we make of the fact that stories like these–some absurd, some not really about race at all–are being given so much attention in the press? I think the conventional wisdom, that self-apppointed civil rights leaders will seize on any purported manifestation of racism in order to stay relevant, no matter how minor or even non-existent such purported manifestations may be, is correct.

But I would go beyond that: I suspect that there is another reason why the press is so fixated on race these days. The left’s agenda is in tatters. Obamacare has crashed on takeoff, after five years of Democratic policies the economy is in the doldrums and we are nearly $17 trillion in debt, and the Obama administration’s foreign policy is is disarray. The Democratic Party, as represented by the press, desperately needs sideshows to 1) rally the party’s faithful, and 2) distract the rest of us from the failures of the liberal agenda. Thus, I don’t think it is a coincidence that liberals are doing their best to portray the summer of 2013 as more or less a replay of 1967. The silliness of the attempt is a measure of how out of ammo liberals are these days.

The years between elections are supposed to be a time for battlefield preparation. Between the feckless GOP Congress, the Democrats’ “unexpectedly” fierce War on Women involving Bob Filner, Anthony Weiner, and Eliot Spitzer, and now these ginned-up racial incidents that keep getting debunked, both sides seem determined inflict the most damage on themselves, long before Tuesday, November 4th of 2014 (or sometime in September, if you’re living in Detroit) appears on the calendars.

Update: Rush Limbaugh adds that Oprah’s latest incident is “a teachable moment on several levels,” though perhaps not the way its author originally intended, “since it’s beginning to look more and more like The Oprah may have decided to relate a composite experience:”

Now, you know what I mean by that? In one of Obama’s autobiographies he took a bunch of women that he had known and combined ‘em into one woman. And when that was exposed by David Maraniss, the autobiographer, we were told, that’s no big deal, that is a clever tool used by really brilliant authors. It’s called the composite character. Rather than take up so many pages and so many words describing each and every woman, the president brilliantly combined them into one woman. And that’s a composite experience.

So it’s beginning to look here like The Oprah may have decided to relate a composite experience. Something happened in one outing and another time she went to a store something else happened, and another time she went to a store, this happened, and she took all of these various instances and she combined them into this one visit to the bag store. Yeah, like Obama’s girlfriend, exactly. Composite. Obama’s girlfriend, his first autobiography. And the reason I say this is because The Oprah seems to be backing away from the claim that it was all due to racism.

Now, the article points out here that in her latest interview The Oprah seems to suggest that it might all have been due to the way she was dressed, which is entirely possible. It could also be because Oprah is a plus size, and the assumption is made that plus size people, because they live in food deserts, are not rich. I don’t know why that’s controversial. You know as well as I do that one of the signs of wealth in women is that you can barely see them. They’re so skinny. Tom Wolfe had a name for them: social x-rays. You could see their rib cages through their skirts, dresses, whatever that they wore. They were so thin that if you ever embraced one, their ribs could bruise you. Social x-ray.

Now, sometimes you’ll find a very solid gut, big guy as a wealthy guy. But you don’t find wealthy women wearing plus sizes. Not by rule. There are exceptions, of course. I don’t want to mention any names. I think this might have been it, but it’s looking less and less like it was racism, is the point. Now the TMZ story. It’s low-information voter alert here. TMZ, which is the website, the network of low-information entertainment voters, picked up this story, and they’re basically calling Oprah a bully.

After the Swiss clerk pushed back against Oprah’s bullying and asked, “I don’t know why she is making these accusations. She is so powerful and I am just a shop girl,” the Professor responded, “Race-talk these days is mostly a way for the powerful to keep the ‘shop girls’ in their place.”

Sadly, that’s what the political religion that once called itself “liberalism” seems to have degenerated into by the 21st century.

“Employers around the country, from fast-food franchises to colleges, have told NBC News that they will be cutting workers’ hours below 30 a week because they can’t afford to offer the health insurance mandated by the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.

“To tell somebody that you’ve got to decrease their hours because of a law passed in Washington is very frustrating to me,” said Loren Goodridge, who owns 21 Subway franchises, including a restaurant in Kennebunk. “I know the impact I’m having on some of my employees.”

Goodridge said he’s cutting the hours of 50 workers to no more than 29 a week so he won’t trigger the provision in the new health care law that requires employers to offer coverage to employees who work 30 hours or more per week. The provision takes effect in 16 months.”

  61. Lenora, interesting article about Oliver Stone. He was actually pretty tough on Obama fairly early in his administration. And, in January, 2012, he said he would vote for Ron Paul, if he was nominee, before he would Obama:

  62. “Booker could beat Hillary.”

Is this beginning to feel a bit like 2007-2008 all over again?
I started to say no. Then, I realized that the Democrat party has become the black party, no less than the Republican party has become the party of white people. And we know from the example of Obama, that a white candidate who has devoted their life to improving the life of black people has no chance with black people when the opposing candidate is black. For black democrats, race is alpha omega. The beginning and the end. This is also true with Hispanics. A friend of mine who is white had an art gallery in El Passo, promoted Mexican art, and was friends with Henry Cisneros. She sat on a Hispanic Arts council, but was cast adrift when a hispanic wanted the job. This is where multi-culturalism inevitably leads–always to Red Vienna and the aftermath. For a period of time, all nationalities, or races, or political factions live together. Then some catalyst emerges and its in group out group all over again–its the tragedy of history. I was glad to see Stone give the boot to Obama. You cannot be a bona fide liberal and support this corporate asshole. The two cannot live together under the same roof. This is where big media has shit in its mess kit. There are not liberals in big media. Just corporatists who do not give a rats ass about the country.

  63. Just as the common law evolved over centuries, through local customs, past practice, and other details lost in the midst of time, so also does the culture of a nation evolve.

The progressive believes that societies are plastic, can be studied in a Harvard class room, and changed to the heart’s desire through the coercive powers of the state administered by Harvard trained bureaucrats.

For half a century or more, they have been trying to extirpate the Judea Christian tradition on which this nation was founded and to substitute in its stead and place a secular religion of their own design.

That is the real basis of the cultural war. It is why these people hate America, hate the American People, and adhere to policies of destroying the village to save it.

  64. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2013/08/14/democrats_test_2016_waters_even_as_clinton_looms_119594.html

If Hillary Clinton has indeed managed to “freeze” the Democratic presidential field for 2016, as many pundits suggest is the case, some big cracks in the ice are about to spread across Iowa.

A growing number of ambitious Democrats are no longer waiting passively for the former secretary of state and frontrunner-in-waiting to make her decision about a campaign. Instead, they will soon begin the quadrennial ritual of descending en masse on the nation’s first voting state.

Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar is set to become the first potential Democratic contender to introduce herself to future caucus-goers when she delivers the keynote address Friday at the 10th annual North Iowa Wing Ding Fundraiser.

Vice President Joe Biden and San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro (the latter keynoted the 2012 Democratic National Convention) will be hot on Klobuchar’s heels when each appears Sept. 15 at Iowa Sen. Tom Harkin’s 36th annual steak fry in Indianola.

And if there is any question about the significance of the 38-year-old mayor’s attendance at the event, one need only look back to the 2006 steak fry. That year, a freshman senator named Barack Obama, who was then firmly denying any intention of running for president in 2008, introduced himself to Iowa at the same confab.

“It’d be foolish for anyone who’s even kind of considering it to not start doing their homework and meeting with some of the activists around here,” said Iowa Democratic operative Greg Hauenstein. “The people who go to the Harkin Steak Fry, especially in an off-year, are the really hard-core people who you want on your side.”

Each of the Iowa-bound Democrats surely recognizes that any challenge to Clinton for the nomination would be a tough row to hoe, and all of them ultimately may pass on a presidential bid. The same can be said for Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, who has not been shy about his White House ambitions, and any other Democrat quietly contemplating a campaign for the nation’s highest office. [snip]

The early 2016 activity isn’t confined to Iowa. Biden and O’Malley have been particularly aggressive about raising money for politicians in other early-voting states, which may prove helpful down the line. Such a move is a perennial telltale sign of a well-defined plan to seek the presidency.

The vice president, for example, is set to speak at a fundraiser later this month for New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan, and O’Malley’s PAC has donated to New Hampshire Sen. Jeanne Shaheen. Both Granite State Democrats are up for re-election next year.

And both men have also taken a special interest in South Carolina, as each visited the first-in-the-South primary state earlier this year. High-level activists and party officials there are not averse to hosting other potential contenders, including those whose names have not yet been floated in earnest. (Several Republicans have also been openly jockeying for early 2016 position in the state.) [snip]

Eventually, however, any Democrats intent on challenging Clinton will have to make their mark more emphatically. In spite of all her clear advantages, after all, it would be unprecedented in modern American politics for a non-incumbent to have no serious competition for the nomination.

And as Clinton learned in 2008, nominating fights often are full of surprises.

For their part, Iowa Democrats have not traditionally been fond of presidential coronations. “While I think she would do very, very well and would probably win this time around if she were to run, nothing is a guarantee here,” Hauenstein said. “Iowans will give anyone an honest look.”

  66. Speaking from the gut, Booker is going all the way. He’s currently quoting Obama 2007. The media acts as it has since back then. And his current opponent has not a chance unless grass roots steps in with great clamor. Steve Lonegan, unlike Hillary, has in essence no name recognition. I’d like to see him win; he has already thanked grass roots for getting him this far. But he won’t. Early morning after election WPIX ran fluff piece of Booker hugging black women at precinct, announced name of GOP candidate and per cent of votes each received. Not even a still of Lonegan.

And cynic that I am, I see Jesse Jackson Jr.’s sentence as too light and also a great “happenstance” for Obama who won’t have to struggle with whether he should pardon him before handing OO over to Booker. 🙁 🙁

  67. I had wanted to view the Reggie Love interview one more time before writing this comment, but the video is now unavailable.
I had hoped to verify what I think he said about POTUS being so hyped to locate his birth certificate and wanting to announce to the nedia. Reggie (?) elaborated a bit too: Having lived so many places and moved so much, it took nearly forever to locate.

Can someone verify or deny that Reggie said that? It is such a phony claim, unless there are states which not offer an official replacement copy complete with raised emblem …like I had apply for in 1990 when the literal “photocopy” I’d used all my life was not accepted by state department for passport application. At the time I found it aggravating that my friend from Sri Lanka’s copy went through that process easily. Little did I know what the future held regarding whites born American.

Love: Obama wanted ‘impromptu press conference’ on birth certificate
    By Justin Sink – 08/14/13
President Obama’s former personal aide said Wednesday that the president was so “irritated” by controversy over his birthplace that he wanted to hold an “impromptu press conference” when he discovered the long-form version of his birth certificate, only to be dissuaded by his advisers.
Reggie Love, the former body man to the president, told UCLA’s Luskin School of Public Affairs that the delay in producing the president’s birth certificate was because when “your parents don’t live together (and) you travel all over the world, documents get lost.”
“He wanted to just have an impromptu press conference, just walk in to the press briefing room in the White House and put it down on the podium. And everyone was like ‘That’s a really bad idea,’ ” Love said. “But he was very gung-ho about doing it, because he was so irritated about it.”

SNIP “Over the last two and half years, I have watched with amusement. I have been puzzled with the degree with which this thing just kept going,” Obama said. SNIP

Hillary AGAINST voter ID Pandering to AA community.

After looking at the link, I see that she’s actually appealing to the AA community, to denounce new standards intended to combat voter fraud.

It’s a good strategy to get the AA voters in her column, she validly points out long lines and extremely long waits in poor areas, while wealthier areas breeze in and out in 10 minutes. So she correctly pointed out that the poorer areas are much more likely to be disenfranchised that middle and upper class neighborhoods. This undermines that this an obvious pandering, while reading between the lines, it would appeal to a) AAs, b) in general, any fair-minded person of any income level.

That said, I think the meme being purported by Big Media and many Dems that “there almost no voter fraud” is a big fat lie. Obama won many a primary and many a state in general elections by stealing votes, rigging machines, voter intimidation (New Black Panther Party), dumping ballots, electronic fraud, discarding provisional ballots from certain areas, bussing in voters from other areas, multiple voting, etc.

So sure, there should be enough voting booths so that voters aren’t stuck there for many hours, or can’t even vote because the poll closed while they’re still on line. But don’t tell me that it’s too much to ask to have proper ID on your personage.

I voted in the NJ primary Tuesday (NOT for Mr. Booker, thank you very much), and the polling person confirming my signature misread the line, and said my address didn’t match. So I took out my driver’s license, and we sorted that out real fast.

Anyone who wants to allow just anyone to walk up and vote anywhere without checking is looking to steal votes.

Ergo, Hillary understands how to sell this. Smart girl.

  77. “The Egyptian people deserve better than what we’ve seen over the last several days,” Obama said.

More than 500 people have been killed in the clashes, in the largest outbreak of violence since Hosni Mubarak was pushed from power at the dawn of the Arab Spring.

The Obama administration has claimed to not be taking sides in the ongoing conflict. After Morsi was pushed from power, the administration would not label the ouster a “coup” — out of concern that doing so would legally obligate the U.S. government to halt aid to the country.

  78. Update – U.S. President Barack Obama to make statement on deteriorating situation in Egypt within the next hour

    Whoopey-bleeding-do. I’m dying to hear him speak….not.
Same o. Same o. By o. o as in zero.

Step 1: mismanage the economy, mismanage foreign policy, collect money from donors here and overseas, go on lavish vacations. When something goes wrong, follow the protocol that works every time, thanks to a vile, unprincipled lap dog media, who praises him at every turn, and covers up his serial mistakes.

Step 2: never, ever apologize. Never not take responsibility. Give them a cover your ass speech. Use the words American People or America as often as necessary. Wear the lapel flag you refused to wear in the primary. Draw red lines everywhere in invisible ink. Use the word they when describing what went wrong. Tell them to apologize. Use the word I when promising to fix what you will never fix because-you-just-don’t-give-a shit-about-anybody-but-yourself.

Step 3: big media gets down on its knees and govels. Then it stands up at its hindlegs and blames the tea party, racists, or any other boogey man they can invent to distract people from his mistakes.

If you have any doubts about why this nation is failing, look no further than that. And the culprit? Not Obama. He is a sociopath with attention deficit disorder. The ultimate responsibility lies with big media.

  79. Fox News Sources: President Obama expected to announce cancellation of joint U.S.-Egyptian military training exercise
Balls of fire! Surely not that!! What will the Egytian leaders do now!!! Big media would have us believe that he has played the trump card. Big media would have us believe that he is not a serial fuck up at all, but the salvation of the middle east. What can they possibly do? If I were them, I would reach out to Putin, who has the same interest in stability in the region that they do. How about that one Barack, you old ConLaw professor you. And if that is what they do–those racists, then who can blame them? How dare Obama meddle in the affairs of their country? Are they supposed to allow this because he is black? I rather suspect that Putin and his entourage are toasting each other and laughing their asses off at the fool at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, who is more concerned with rodeo clowns than the fate of this nation.

  80. I can’t really believe that Hillary didn’t know that it was a terrorist attack. Unless maybe this congressman isn’t being truthful? Mamma Mia – Just the word Benghazi is starting to give me ogita. Let’s get it out there and over with. It’s not going to go away by itself!

GOP Rep. Kinzinger: Two Days After Benghazi Massacre Hillary Clinton Screamed at Congressman Who Suggested it Was a Terror Attack (Video)
At a town hall meeting in Rochelle, Illinois on Wednesday Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) dropped this bomb on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton:

“Two days after this attack we were in a briefing with Hillary Clinton and she screamed at a member of Congress who’d dare suggest that this was a terrorist attack.”

  81. I await with keen interest and anticipation Krauthammer’s analysis of Obama strategic meltdown and the bean bags he is hurling at our erstwhile ally. Seems like Harvard trained Power should be able to handle this one, so her boss can go back on another well deserved vacation. You say he just got back from vacation. I say, so what? Expensive as those vacations are to taxpayers, they are dirt cheap compared to the mischief and cost to our country which he creates on those rare occasions when he is not on vacation, and pretending to be president.

  82. Oh Lordy where will it end……The Dems in high places who want him gone just wheeled out Allred.

SAN DIEGO – A great-grandmother will hold a news conference with attorney Gloria Allred early Thursday afternoon, alleging she is a sexual harassment victim of Mayor Bob Filner.

A news release stated the senior citizen was the “victim of continuous inappropriate sexual advances by the Mayor while trying to do her job at City Hall.”

The release said both Allred and the great-grandmother would address the media at 1:00 p.m. at the Westin in downtown San Diego.

The release also said Allred was the woman’s attorney, but it was not yet clear on if the woman would be filing a lawsuit against Filner. If so, that would be the second sexual harassment lawsuit against the mayor.

  83. Below is CNN’s account of who said what regarding Benghazi. Granted, they want Obama to look as competent and engaged as possible, so it spins in that direction. Most of what I posted here were statements that are identified as Hillary’s, but there are other statements from Carney, Obama, Paneta, and and others on the CNN site. ”

Much has been made of the angry statements of the father of one of the men killed. As I recall, he said that when the families met with Obama, Hillary, and the other officials, that she referenced the video which was the excuse being given at the time. Obviously, the man was angry and grief stricken. I would feel the same. I’m not saying that he shouldn’t have been upset about that. But, Obama and his white house people were the ones pushing that narrative. Maybe the man expressed that much anger about Obama, but if so, I never heard that mentioned. Hillary seemed to be the one he had the most anger toward. Or maybe, that’s just the way MSM reported it. Plus, is it not true that Ambassador Stephens was the only person killed who was actually attached to State Dept? This fact makes his targeting Hillary (if he did) even more surprising.

Regarding the congressman’s statement Lenora, who knows if he was accurate in his reporting about Hillary screaming – and what she screamed. However, according to this source, she specifically said it was a terror attack on September 21, 2012. Prior to that, she said they would find out more after investigation was complete, and that possible motivations expressed by other individuals should not be seen as justification for the bombing.

From CNN Benghazi timeline – Hillary’s responses. The link is posted if anyone wants to check out others:

September 12 — Secretary of State Hillary Clinton

“We are working to determine the precise motivations and methods of those who carried out this assault. Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior, along with the protest that took place at our embassy in Cairo yesterday, as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet. America’s commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me be clear: There is no justification for this; none.”

    September 21 — Hillary Clinton
“What happened in Benghazi was a terrorist attack, and we will not rest until we have tracked down and brought to justice the terrorists who murdered four Americans.”

    September 25 —

President Obama on ABC’s “The View,” in response to interviewer Joy Behar’s question, “I heard Hillary Clinton say it was an act of terrorism. Is it? What do you say?”
“We’re still doing an investigation. There’s no doubt that (with) the kind of weapons that were used, the ongoing assault, that it wasn’t just a mob action. We don’t have all the information yet, so we’re still gathering it. But what’s clear is that around the world, there’s still a lot of threats out there.” Obama also said “extremist militias” were suspected to have been involved.

    September 26 — Hillary Clinton

“What is happening inside Mali is augmented by the rising threat from violent extremism across the region. For some time, al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb and other groups have launched attacks and kidnappings from northern Mali into neighboring countries. Now, with a larger safe haven and increased freedom to maneuver, terrorists are seeking to extend their reach and their networks in multiple directions. And they are working with other violent extremists to undermine the democratic transitions under way in North Africa, as we tragically saw in Benghazi.”

  84. SAN DIEGO – A great-grandmother will hold a news conference with attorney Gloria Allred early Thursday afternoon, alleging she is a sexual harassment victim of Mayor Bob Filner.
Poor guy. Poor guy. He has such an honest face. And when he speaks, he speaks with such earnestness. In politics, it does not matter what you do. But you must be in earnest. Oscar Wilde was right about that. As for these false, slanderous, lies about what he allegedly did, he will join Lois Learner, in saying he did nothing wrong, and plead the fifth. That way he can stay out of jail and continue to collect his salary. Later, when the pot boils over, he can say he is sorry and enter therapy. In the end, what will save him is that honest face. He looks like an honest . . . rat.

  85. Suppose Hisshonor Finer was a re-thug.

Can you imagine what would happen to him.

This would be Exibit A in the RE-THUG war on women.

Gothic Boy David Gregory would asking any Republican foolish enough to go on MTP whether he supports Hisshonor.

And CNN would be calling for the revocation of the Republican Party charter.

Question: why has it taken so long for all bark and no bite Gloria to get in the act?

I support what she is doing–usually do, but after the press conference, she never seems to follow through.

Where I lost my respect for her was when she was a Hillary delegate, wrote a letter accusing the Obama campaign of illegal conduct, and when push came to shove backed off and put a napkin over her mouth implying that what they were doing was illegal, and left it at that.

If you were there at the Convention, then you will remember this. I did not go to Denver, but some of my associates did and they gave me a blow by blow on what occurred.

Father Of Slain Navy SEAL: I Knew Hillary Clinton Was Lying To Me When She Said It Was The Video

    Michael Miller
    On May 9, 2013
The Father of one of the ex-Navy SEALS killed in Benghazi says yesterday’s hearing offered him “encouragement.” He also says he knew Hillary Clinton was lying when she told him a video was responsible for his son’s death.

Charles Woods, whose son Tyrone was killed the attack, told Sean Hannity last night: “There are good men on both sides who are trying to find out exactly what the facts were so this will not happen again.” Woods said he even shook hands with Ranking Democrat Elijah Cummings to thank him for his “spirit of cooperation.”

As to the conversation Woods had with Hillary Clinton shortly after his son’s death, he said:

“When I was approached by Hillary Clinton at the coming-home ceremony of the bodies at Andrews Air Force Base, and she said, ‘We’re going to go out and we’re going to prosecute that person that made the video,’ I knew that she wasn’t telling the truth, and I think the whole world knows that now. She’s smarter than I am; she probably knew that well.”

Of course, Mr. Woods, being the gentleman he is, said “she wasn’t telling the truth,” when he knows in his heart she looked him straight in the eye and told him a bald-faced lie about the death of his son. “Smarter” than you are, Mr. Woods? I doubt it. And not a tenth of your integrity.

  95. I think the Egyptian Military will have to eliminate all the Brotherhood. They are willing to burn all of Egypt. I actually think that is their plan short of Morsi in power.

  96. gonzotx, I’m not trying to be overly defensive about Hillary. But, the WH pushed the hell out of video excuse. If she believed that the family members present accepted that explanation, and wanted to give the man some comfort – which is what people typically need very soon after a loved one has been killed. If she though she was giving him something – some way to just get through the situation until facts came out, I can see her actions as coming from compassion, and not from an intent to deceive.

That said. He has a right to his own thoughts and feelings. People differ in the level of truth and reality they can hear when already traumatized. And, obviously, it was not the time to go into the full details of every bit of info known at the time. It would have been inappropriate for her to have done that at that point. Plus, her boss was there at the time, presumably talking about the video.

On a different note – and this is again, not to be too sensitive or to piss people off, but it says something about this dad that he said the following quote from your post:

“There are good men on both sides who are trying to find out exactly what the facts were so this will not happen again.”

Good men. Are there no good women who are working on this, as well? As a woman, I can tell you that it gets damn tiresome having the female gender totally overlooked whenever something positive is happening. But, if something goes wrong, by damn, the chauvinists of the world don’t mind pointing out the mistakes the women made. Now, maybe there are no women involved in the effort to find out what’s going on. If not, maybe there should be.

If that makes me sound like an angry radical feminist, then hell yeah, color me radical. And, you can damn sure color me angry.

Families where someone is a tobacco user.
Families where children have low student achievement, developmental delays, or disabilities.
Families with individuals who are serving or formerly served in the armed forces, including such families that have members of the armed forces who have had multiple deployments outside the United States.

Putin would have made a fantastic coach. he is a master at taking immediate advantage of opportunity! 😀 It is very likely that the US has officially lost Egypt as an ally AND WE ARE STILL GIVING THEM BOTH MILITARY AND FOREIGN AID!!! Days like today are the days I love to have political discussions with my obot friends and watch them squirm as I remind them that Bumbles is still playing 3 dimensional chess….

I can see her actions as coming from compassion, and not from an intent to deceive.

    That said. He has a right to his own thoughts and feelings. People differ in the level of truth and reality they can hear when already traumatized. And, obviously, it was not the time to go into the full details of every bit of info known at the time. It would have been inappropriate for her to have done that at that point. Plus, her boss was there at the time, presumably talking about the video.{EMPHASIS MINE}

Couldn’t agree with you more, free…..

So she was telling him a lie to comfort him? I don’t think so. She supported a false, ridiculous narrative.

On Sept. 14, 2012, three days after the assault at Benghazi, President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke at the transfer of remains ceremony to honor the four Americans killed. The White House published video of their remarks.
After lauding the four slain Americans, Clinton said “This has been a difficult week for the State Department and for our country. We’ve seen the heavy assault on our post in Benghazi that took the lives of those brave men. We’ve seen rage and violence directed at American embassies over an awful internet video that we had nothing to do with. It is hard for the American people to make sense of that because it is senseless, and it is totally unacceptable.”
The phone call came at 2:00 AM, not at Hillary’s preferred 3:00 AM, so perhaps that made the difference:

After the attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, after four Americans were slaughtered, Hillary Clinton looked the American public in the eye and claimed that a YouTube video was responsible. There were cracks in that narrative from the very beginning. But this morning, Gregory Hicks, Deputy Chief of Mission at the embassy, delivered a final, devastating blow.

Hicks testified that Clinton had called him at 2 a.m., while the attacks were underway.

Hicks also confirmed that the military were told to stand down in Benghazi; their response? “They were furious.”

As Charlie Spiering of the Washington Examiner notes today:

During the House and Oversight Committee hearing on Benghazi this afternoon, Gregory Hicks testified that the YouTube video that was blamed for sparking a protest had nothing to do with the attacks in Benghazi, Libya.

“The YouTube event was a non-event in Libya,” Hicks stated flatly, when asked about whether it sparked a protest in Libya.

Emails released late Tuesday provide evidence that, contrary to Clinton’s remarks on 9-14, on the evening of 9-11 and just two hours into the attack, Clinton had been made aware that terrorist group Ansar al-Sharia was claiming responsibility for the attack. The United States had a drone or maybe multiple drones overhead, feeding video of the battle back to the State Department and the White House Situation Room. That video allowed members of the administration to monitor the battle in real time.

No wonder, as Ace adds today, “Hicks Was Told Not to Speak Alone to Congressional Investigators; Hillary’s ‘Fixer’ Cheryl Mills Insisted On Being Present At Every Meeting.”

Yes, I am extremely disappointed in Hillary’s behavior regarding Benghazi. I am disappointed in her comments about Trayvon, voting rights. I don’t know how much she could do to support Israel, but at times it seemed we were hearing the words of Obama come out of her mouth… I feel like I don’t know this woman I spent so much time and money trying to win a Presidency. I will not whitewash her actions or try to minimize them. These are her words, her actions..

  101. Gonotx,I’m not saying she did nothing wrong. I will say, however, that I have heard the Republicans spewing more venom at her than at Obama regarding this. Hillary has always been more of a target to the right wingers. It’s hard to know what to believe. I don’t entirely trust any report – not CNN, and not Red State. I don’t think she started the narrative about the video. And I think that by not refuting it initially, she was just buying a little time until more info was available, and she could see how the WH and CIA were going to handle it. I’m sure she expected it all to be blamed on her by the Obama thugs in the WH. We don’t know what she knew, and at what point she knew it.

That said, I do think it could have been handled better, but more of the blame goes to Cia and WH than State Dept. You hear the pubs railing on O for it – but nothing like they do Hillary. Stevens was in her Dept. but, as far as whether she had been informed all of the stuff going on, or had any control over it, we don’t know. I think the statement that State Dept. could not speak for another department may indicate that she was not in on all of the details – or, at least had not control in the matter. That may be wishful thinking, but I’ll just reserve judgement until some info is available from a source that does not have an agenda or a bias. Both CNN and Red State do.

Regarding the other stuff. I disagreed with Hillary too on the the voting rights act thing. I ‘m not totally sure what she said about Trayvon, because frankly, I was so damn sick of hearing pols and MSM crucify the man, ignoring that – a jury of his peers found him not guilty, I couldn’t listen to it another sec, or read another word about it.

Even though I don’t agree with her positions on these issues, I can still support Hillary because at this point, I believe that she represents my views – for the most part, not in every issue, obviously – better than any other potential candidate up to this point. And, I believe that at heart she is a centrist – more of a centrist than a progressive. I think she is having to do a bit of dancing around right now, in order to assess where her true support lies, and whether she will retain that support if other hopefuls appear on the scene. No matter what they’re saying now, I don’t think she can totally trust the Obama Thugs to support her, nor Obama, himself.

  102. From Obama propaganda outlet Politico:

    The senator from Barack Obama

President Barack Obama never said so, but he was always pushing for Cory Booker to win his Senate primary.

He likes the guy,” a member of the Obama circle said. “He roots for him. He’s encouraging of him.”

Being an early supporter of Obama and having a personal relationship has benefits: for Booker, that included active support from both Obama senior adviser Valerie Jarrett and Democratic National Committee Executive Director Patrick Gaspard, who encouraged him to run for Senate and then informally advised him throughout the campaign — even though his opponents included two sitting, senior members of Congress. People familiar with the conversations say both were regularly in touch with Booker directly, with Jarrett personally updating an interested president at points along the way.

Booker’s the rare example of Obama advancing the larger cause of African-American political success beyond himself. He’s also the rare example of the Obama campaign apparatus activating for anyone other than the president himself. Many politicians helped get Obama elected and reelected, but Booker was the first one to have the team truly reach back down to help one of those people in return.

Now — barring a major upset by tea party candidate Steve Lonegan — Booker’s primed to add to Obama’s very short list of friends in the Senate. [snip]

Gaspard encouraged him to start talking about running for Senate even before Frank Lautenberg bowed out, much to the late senator’s irritation, and continued giving advice to Booker during the Senate campaign.

Now Booker is primed to become a liaison for Republicans looking for a direct line to the Oval Office, and a rallying force among Democrats who’ll be looking to ingratiate themselves to a man who’s about to become one of the party’s most reliable rainmakers. [snip]

Plans are already being made to run him all around the country for fundraisers and rallies, for next year’s midterms and beyond. And senators facing next year’s tough midterm map know well that the best way to get a favor is to do a favor: If Booker decides to channel some of that appeal into rallying votes for Obama priorities, he’s got a chance to become the kind of power broker Obama has never really had in the Senate. [snip]

Obama veterans can barely wait. Very quickly after entering the primary race, Booker had a team that included Obama pollster Joel Benenson running his numbers, the firm founded by Obama national field director Jeremy Bird and battleground states director Mitch Stewart running his field operation, and Organizing for America national political director Addisu Demissie to run his campaign as the manager.

And those are just some of the better-known operatives. The campaign is stocked with Obama veterans, just like campaign events are stocked with Obama volunteers and the war chest with many Obama donors. Part of that is the natural evolution — there aren’t any more Obama campaigns for them to work on, and they have to move on to new clients and candidates. But there’s no missing just how many of them gravitated to Booker, in a special election and against a big and credible field of Reps. Rush Holt, Frank Pallone and state Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver. [snip]

But Tuesday night, he got as close to the president rhetorically as he could without plagiarizing directly.

“All of New Jersey, can, should and must resonate with the hope and the promise of America. That we cannot divide this state, north from south, Democrat from Republican, urban from suburban,” Booker said, “that all our state has one destiny because we are one people and we have one vision that calls us.”

Hillary gets the nomination only over Obama’s dead body.

  103. Booker has no shot this time, he would not be in the Senate until Nov 2013 and he would have to start running for 2016 by lastest next summer. No time. Even Obama was in the senate at least 2 years. Public would be reluctant to put an Obama clone in the WH straightaway.

  104. AP Reporter: Are Obama’s Policies in Syria and Egypt Worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize Winner?

State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki curtly replied Thursday to Associated Press reporter Matt Lee that the policies of the Obama administration regarding Egypt and Syria were in fact worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize winner.

LEE: All right. And then my last one and I will stop, I promise, after this do you think or is the administration confident that the steps that the policy that you have pursued thus far in Egypt and also in Syria are worthy of a president who not so long ago won the Nobel peace prize?

    PSAKI: Yes, Matt.

    LEE: You do. OK.

Obama’s support for Muslim Brotherhood Islamists in Egypt is driving the powerful military there against the United States and toward Moscow, Bill Gertz of the Washington Free Beacon reported. The administration’s handling of the turmoil there has drawn intense scrutiny in the six weeks since Morsi was removed from office, particularly the refusal of officials to say whether or not Morsi’s removal constituted a coup, even leading to a sharp rebuke from the Washington Post editorial board.

The administration’s response to the Syrian civil war has also been criticized as weak, particularly with regard to so-called “red line” Syria crossed that did not lead to immediate aid to the rebels. It has been nearly two years since Obama demanded President Bashar al-Assad step aside, yet he remains in power and the civil war is destabilizing the Levant.

Obama received the Nobel prize in 2009 for what the committee called his “extraordinary efforts” to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples. Given he had been in office less than nine months when the decision was announced, many called it premature.

  105. Over 600 dead in Egypt? No end game in sight? The master has spoken–the Egyptian People deserve better. Suddenly, the ground trembles at the sound of his words. In a gravelly voice I am the Lord thy god. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. BIG MEDIA repeats this words, 20 million times, and all the Sunday shows revolve around this. Cults form to study his words, and schools of secular theology spring into action. Atheists are giddy. But where it counts, Egypt, the response is, in effect, fuck off Obama. Go on vacation. Play golf. Lower your handicap. Entertain your donor. But stay out of our business. Don’t bribe us. Don’t threaten us. We are a sovereign nation and we don’t need you telling us what to do. You do a bad enough job handling your own country’s problems. We do not need your help. Meanwhile, Putin is slapping Obama around, and the NAACP says forget about all this shit, we have a rodeo clown we aim to hang, without a trial. Jessee Jackson and Al Sharpton weigh in on the issue and say, if this president were white they would not dare treat him this way. Just because he has an utterly incoherent foreign policy, and does not know his ass from third base, and just because Americans lost their lives in Benghazi because of his failure to act, does not mean we have a right to criticize him, which we would gladly do if he was white. But being as how he is black, no can do.

  106. Are Obama’s Policies in Syria and Egypt Worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize Winner?

I have asked big media that very question.

    And their response was . . .

Me too. Everything is beginning to look like Detroit, which is the inevitable end game of Obama’s anti American policies. Canada may not be the United States, but it is a lot like we once were, before all this hope and change crap hit the transom.

  110. Booker may or may not be qualified to run for president. Time will tell. But he will not get it. After the Obama debacle, there will be no black president for a hundred years. In the case of Carson, that is tragic. In the case of Booker, it is most likely a good thing/

  111. Wbb

Booker is not a serious threat to Hillary. Frankly, the Bolsheviks have no effective candidate to throw against her this time around. I hope you’re right. But O had next to no national experience when Daschel, Teddy, Howie, and pals talked him into running. At this point, I believe that O’s Thug-nation could put that poor damn rodeo clown in the WH if that’s who they decided they wanted in 2016. MSM would roll out the red carpet for him, and screw their heads on backwards, in order to spin whatever crazy narrative it took for him to win. Although the Obama-media have reported a couple of truths about him now and then, there is no lasting, significant insight or change on part of the media.

Obama’s Thug-nation has got the bucks. They have the ruthlessness. They have unlimited access to individuals and organizations who will act as directed, regardless of whether their actions violate laws governing voter registration and election practices. They have the support of their Hollywood brown-nosers, who apparently, think its racist to call bull sh** on an African American politician for any reason whatsoever, and who would not dream of going against the pack, and standing up for what’s righ right, rather than what’s cool. Additionally, Obama and pals have MSM, and as we know, if they had none of the assets above, they still would have their most important – OPRAH!
That Oprah thing was sarcasm. Her influence is not what it was, but she still has some, and a ton of money.

This whole “Everybody loves Hillary” thing just makes me nervous. I fear that a shoe will be dropping soon – or more accurately, someone from Thug-nation, or another prog group will throw a shoe soon. I feel sure, however, that Hill and Bill will have that contingency planned covered, if she decides to run. Heaven knows, they could tell some damaging stuff, if they so chose.

  113. President Barack Obama never said so, but he was always pushing for Cory Booker to win his Senate primary.

That jackass will never become President, [clutching pearls} America will go to Hell if he ever get’s in the oval, and I will leave for Canada.

  115. The Reps are gearing up with Rovian dirty tricks against Hillary. Read some of the really dirty comments on Rep. sites like Breitbart if Hillary’s name is even mentioned. It’s surprising how the deep Clinton hate is still out there. Can a candidate win if there are those in their own party trying to secretly or openly undermind them? Remember 2008? Ask Mitt Romney.

Also who is that gal named Andrea something or another on THE FIVE? She surely seems to have a big case of Clinton Derangemnet Syndrome and goes into a scowling mean girl mode when Hillary’s name is mentioned.

  116. Cory Booker, another lightly qualified AA man who never bothered to do a job, but just used every “job” as a stepping stone.

Cory Booker, another lightly qualified AA man who never bothered to do a job, but just used every “job” as a stepping stone.

I have to disagree with you here. It’s a lot tougher to vote ‘present’ when you are a mayor. Just ask Sarah Palin. You do actually have to run the city and make decisions. I’m not saying that I trust or even think that he would be a good Senator, but his resume is MILES better than bumbles. He played college ball at Stanford where he was an Academic All Pac-10 player. As a former college athlete, that is nothing to scoff at ESPECIALLY from a school like Stanford.

His CV does demonstrate a ton of pandering and political stunts to gain notoriety to be sure. His support for teh one and his receipt of support from Opal is clear, which by themselves kills any credibility that he might have had, and that is the sad thing. He might have been a better standard bearer for us in the black community going forward. But the black experience as defined by bumbles has decimated the idea (at least for the next 5 – 8 generations) of another black chief executive.

“Russell Simmons has removed from his YouTube channel a video spoof featuring Harriet Tubman having sex with her white “massa” as part of a blackmail scheme after the video resulted in a call from the NAACP and an uproar from, well, almost everyone who saw it. Although Simmons said in a statement that at first he thought the short was politically correct—outwitting the slave owner and all—he now says, “I can now understand why so many people are upset…I would never condone violence against women in any form, and for all of those I offended, I am sincerely sorry.” Harriet Tubman was an escaped slave, and heralded conductor of the Underground Railroad who helped hundreds more flee bondage.”

  123. In case anyone gives a rip, Oprah was on AC360 tonight. She and Forest whitaker were promoting their movie “The Butler”, a movie about the civil rights movement. I didn’t watch the AC360 or view the videos on Cnn website, but apparently, Oprah enlightened viewers about racism. Oprah’s has been in the public eye quite a bit lately, race-baiting all over the place. well, after all, it’s free publicity for her movie. She is unbelievable!

Riddle me this – How is it that a country who twice elected an grossly unqualified and incompetent president, pretty much just because he was black, be as racist as Oprah would portray us?

I didn’t link the video, but it’s at CNN, You Tube, and a number of other sites, if anyone can stand to watch it.

  124. Four hundred missiles capable of shooting down an American airliner in the hands of our enemies, and Barack Hussein Obama didn’t bother to tell the American people about it?

Obama’s ‘Impeachable Offense’ Over New Benghazi Revelations

We now know the CIA Annex in Benghazi was the hub for illegally shipping weapons to the Syrian rebels. That the CIA Annex contained three huge warehouses containing thousands of surface-to-air missiles, taking part in a proxy war to topple Syrian President Bashar Assad.

  125. Sequester Martha’s Vineyard, Mr. President

While the government alleges that it is struggling under cost-cutting sequester measures, and the American people suffer under what some call 14% unemployment, the President is vacationing in a palatial estate on Martha’s Vineyard.

While President Obama and his wife luxuriate at the $7.6 million estate in Chilmark, reputedly the most affluent town in a wildly affluent island, sequester-cuts go into effect that will decimate the civilian personnel of the Department of Defense (DoD) by a whopping 85%.

And on this vacation, marked by the notable absence of the Obama’s two daughters who are at camp, the first-couple is socializing with Hollywood aristocrats, like of Ted Danson, who is an ardent Democrat and ardent supporter of the Clintons.

The luxurious home overlooks a “great pond” and the Atlantic Ocean with shimmering water views from both the living & dining rooms, as well as the master-suite, which features a plush, private den. The 10 acre grounds feature water sports & a basketball court.

Like other Obama vacations, the costs are born by the public, including rent, travel and the costs of setting up top rate communications and Presidential security, which involves more than just having the Secret Service personnel on site.

This lavish behavior is in stark contrast to the frugal behavior of his predecessor, George W. Bush. By comparison, President Bush vacationed at his own home in Midland, Texas. In fact, Bush was well known for hosting important heads of state there as well, welcoming into his own home as a symbol of courtesy and humility.

  126. About Corey Booker. Don’t take anything for granted. No doubt there is much going on behind the scenes. Do what you can to support Steve Lonegan, the Republican who won Tuesday. Steve is being portrayed by WPIX as insignificant – they did not even show a still picture of him on Wednesday morning when they fawned over Corey winning Dem spot. And prior to that they had a female reporter (last name Pizzi) on saying Corey was a shoe-in for Primary and senatorial election next month for seat. [IOW don’t bother to vote.] Lonegan is plenty decent and probably better qualified. He will likely be smeared with his Tea Party affiliation of the past. He had grass roots people VOLUNTEER to help get his name on the ballot. And he will continue to need them and as many others as possible to get the respectable turnout he IMO has earned. I’m not talking a win here … just decent so WPIX cannot next month announce election results: Booker by historic landslide, Lonegan single digits.

Steven M. Lonegan (born April 27, 1956) American businessman, author and Republican Party politician who served as Mayor of Bogota, New Jersey from 1995 to 2007. The former State Director of the New Jersey chapter of Americans for Prosperity, he was a candidate for the Republican nomination for Governor of New Jersey in 2005 and 2009. He is the Republican Party’s nominee in the October 2013 special election to fill New Jersey’s open U.S. Senate seat following the death of Frank Lautenberg.

It is Zucker that I have the bigger issue with now.

He corrupted NBC with his race baiting, and now he is doing the same thing at CNN.

He is the Eichmann of this perverse meme.

  128. The American system has been restructured so that citizens are forever on the defensive against the ruling class. They declare each new objective. We are then asked if we’re willing to go to the ends of the Earth to stop them. The answer from our representatives is always “no.” The law is a minor obstacle to power, not a barrier against it. If we’re not going to take the Magic Pen away, what’s the point of investing time, money, and cultural energy in political opposition?

Marco Rubio and the immigration surrender

    By: John Hayward | August 15th, 2013 at 04:39 PM | 24

Of all the arguments advanced in favor of amnesty for illegal aliens, perhaps the most outrageous came from Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) during a radio interview on Tuesday. Outrage should not be exclusively directed at Rubio, because what he said is very possibly true. And outrage should not be limited to the immigration issue, because what Rubio said will prove true of many other issues as well. This is call-to-arms, fife-and-drum stuff. The question is whether there are enough American patriots left to hear the music, and answer.

Rubio warned that if a comprehensive immigration bill is not passed by Republicans, he believes “this President will be tempted, if nothing happens in Congress, he will be tempted to issue an executive order like he did for the DREAM Act kids a year ago, where he basically legalizes 11 million people by the sign of a pen. Now, we won’t get an E-Verify, we won’t get any border security. But he’ll legalize them.”

Well, that’s just peachy. The ruling class caused this massive immigration problem to develop. They allowed the accumulation of 11 or 12 million people who cannot be tracked at all – not even by the great All-Seeing Eye of Mordor that buries the rest of us under gigantic amounts of paperwork, and harvests gigabytes of meta-data on our every move. And now that we’ve dispensed with the last vestiges of the American constitutional order – separation of powers, the rule of law – we’ve got no choice but to cut a deal with the despotic executive, before he gets tired of waiting and imports the 12 million new voters his Party wants by fiat. We might hope for a crumb or two from the table, but there is no further question about who sits at that table, and who scrabbles around beneath it. The ruling class has very little to say to Americans who still imagine that the government must fulfill duties to its citizens, or insist the government must be bound by the laws it passes.

Of course, as Larry Elder devastatingly asked Rubio via Twitter, “What’s stopping Obama from using executive orders after you do a deal?” Why would the all-powerful despot who ignores his own signature legislative achievement, ObamaCare, feel obliged to fulfill any inconvenient terms of a grand immigration bargain? The Gang of Eight bill Rubio championed in the Senate gives the Administration a variety of relatively polite ways to weasel out of border security commitments, such as by choking off funding, or having the Homeland Security secretary declare that border security is fine and dandy the way it is. But any sort of “amnesty today for border security later” deal will surely end with Obama using his new dictatorial powers to rewrite the law later. Why not? What’s anyone going to do about it?

Why is Congress discussing anything else when this state of affairs exists? Restoring the proper separation of powers is more important than anything on the Beltway agenda. Declaring Affordable Care Act null and void because the President refuses to obey it would be a great start. ObamaCare for all, or ObamaCare for none. Enforce the law as written, or submit it to the legislature for review. No American should be required to obey a law that politicians ignore. That’s what the “rule of law” looks like, for the benefit of readers too young to remember it.

Once upon a time, there was a notion that even the President’s own party would be jealous of congressional prerogatives, and unite to halt executive overreach. Those days are obviously over, if they were ever more than wishful thinking. Now the opposition party is supine as the Constitutional order is restructured. One of the most popular leaders of the opposition, much-touted as a leading presidential candidate for 2016, goes on the air to inform his constituents that we’d better capitulate to the President, or he’ll just do what he wants anyway. There is no serious discussion of strenuously objecting to this, much less stopping him.

How do you get base voters energized for midterms in 2014 with that kind of message? “Send more Republicans to Congress so we can politely resist for a bit longer before we cave to the Democrats!” And good luck trying to run on a 2016 platform of installing a Republican president to use those dictatorial powers to do some good. That won’t be permitted; the game is about the institutionalized power of the Left, and allies who believe they can profit from going along, like the business interests that love mass illegal migrations because they provide cheap labor. If a Republican somehow wins in 2016, those “Obama powers” will instantaneously be stripped from the presidency. Any Republican chief executive who thinks he can rewrite ObamaCare on the fly is in for a big surprise. We should know better than to try using a system designed to increase and centralize power for the ends of liberty. It’s just not good enough to put the “right person” behind the wheel for a few years.

Republicans are playing a rigged game that requires them to talk themselves halfway to capitulation before the negotiations with Democrats even begin. It’s like a boxing match where the GOP gives itself a black eye before the first bell is rung. Republicans accept leftist rules of engagement without quarrel, obediently sidelining the narratives that would change the terms of debate and energize Americans. The resulting passion gap is enormous. When only one side gets to employ populist rhetoric, emotional appeals, or moral arguments, you know it’s going to be a short, bloody fight that ends in a knockout.

And notice that only Republicans are required to stay down after the ten-count. On issue after issue, legislative or electoral defeat is the end of the fight for Republicans, but only the beginning for the Left.

That’s how immigration reform will work, too. Republicans are cordially invited to try stopping the amnesty process because some trigger or other has not been met. They won’t do it; they’ll stop themselves long before the Democrats have to issue any formal response; and then the Democrats will portray them as heartless xenophobes in the next election anyway.

Likewise, anyone who really thinks the new “provisional citizens” won’t be voting or collecting welfare benefits for ten or twelve years is living on a different planet. The “civil-rights” marches for provisional citizen “voting rights” will begin promptly, and they’ll be spectacular. The pleas to feed those starving New American families with food stamps will be heartrending. And in the unlikely event all that drama doesn’t make timid Republicans pin themselves to the mat, why wouldn’t the Super-President just wave his Magic Pen and make it all happen, declaring that his conscience won’t let him keep provisional citizens from the benefits they deserve?

The American system has been restructured so that citizens are forever on the defensive against the ruling class. They declare each new objective. We are then asked if we’re willing to go to the ends of the Earth to stop them. The answer from our representatives is always “no.” The law is a minor obstacle to power, not a barrier against it. If we’re not going to take the Magic Pen away, what’s the point of investing time, money, and cultural energy in political opposition?

  129. Wow – what a party! Glad I missed it!

    Power-packed Vineyard party for Obama

Comcast CEO Brian Roberts’ cocktail party for President Barack Obama and wife Michelle in Martha’s Vineyard last night was attended by a host of notables close to the administration. Guests included newly nominated ambassador to Japan Caroline Kennedy, Obama’s senior adviser Valerie Jarrett, National Security Adviser Susan Rice, Attorney General Eric Holder, former “car czar” Steve Rattner, 32 Advisors’ and member of the president’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board Robert Wolf, lawyer and leading civil rights activist Vernon Jordan. Also there were movie mogul and Obama booster Harvey Weinstein and his wife, Marchesa co-founder Georgina Chapman, Larry David, Carly Simon, Peter Chernin and California Attorney General Kamala Harris. Despite the power-packed list of guests, a source told us the reception was “very relaxed, with no speeches. People were sitting out on the terrace.” Roberts has reportedly been close to the president for years and endorsed the Affordable Care Act.

  130. “a source told us the reception was “very relaxed, with no speeches. People were sitting out on the terrace.” Roberts has reportedly been close to the president for years and endorsed the Affordable Care Act.”

A gathering of more than two people, and Obama did not give a speech? Pretty amazing.

I wonder if Roberts asked Barack for an exemption to Ocare. All the people who supported it, seem to now want exemptions.

  131. Can AR give hope again?
Tom Cotton ‘a young man in a hurry’ to win Arkansas Senate seat for GOP
Snip Cotton, 36, served just seven months of his first term in the House before deciding he’s ready to move up to the Senate. Over his first congressional summer recess, he set out to oust two-term Democratic Sen. Mark Pryor in a race national Republicans believe will help them take control of the Senate. Snip.
On the campaign trail, some Arkansas voters wanted Cotton to reassure them of his conservative bona fides. “I want to know what you can tell us about yourself to convince us that you’re not going to turn RINO [Republican In Name Only] when you get up to the Senate,” Paul Schwindt said at one stop. “I’m always going to stand with Arkansas families,” Cotton responded, “and not stand with the crowd in Washington who just go along to get along.” Cotton’s congressional record is a short but rich target for Pryor. Cotton voted against a five-year farm bill (he wants food stamps funded separately); against lower student loan rates (he said the government shouldn’t set any interest rates); and for a Republican plan to balance the budget in five years, mainly through steep cuts to entitlements programs. While he distances himself from official Washington, Cotton also draws a line with more-ideological Republican conservatives. He opposes conservative plans for this fall to shut down the government or render it incapable of paying its bills unless they get unlikely concessions from Democrats. Cotton was in office just a short time before he began speaking up in Republican conference meetings and committee hearings, invoking his military experience in Iraq and Afghanistan when addressing foreign policy and national security issues. Rep. Steve King, a conservative Iowa Republican, was impressed with how quickly Cotton caught on.

    Fingers crossed here.

I remember that piece by WashPo’s laughing hyena Eugene Robinson calling Obama an intelligent man, in an intelligent house, in an intelligent city, etc. Lest we forget, Cairo was ground zero for Obama’s intelligent Cairo speech which brought piece and tranquility to the Middle East, and pave he way for Muslims to regain their former stature as an enlightened civilization. Well . . . so much for his theories, which have the smell of the lamp to them, and, if I may say so play hell in Cairo, but delight the ruling class here. Either those Egyptians do not appreciate Obama’s intelligence, aptly described by his butt boy Robinson, or else there are more things in heaven, earth, and Cairo than are dreamt of in his incoherent, and truth to tell, unintelligent strategy. Big media can sprinkle all the holy water they want over his bullshit, but in fact, it either works, or it does not work, and common sense should have told him that running his mouth at this point would be counterproductive to our interests.

  133. GOP Whip McCarthy: Secure Border Before We Talk About Amnesty

    by Matthew Boyle @ Breitbart

    15 Aug 2013

House Majority Whip Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) states on his congressional website that no amnesty should be granted to any illegal immigrants.

“As a nation founded by immigrants, we should to continue embrace the individuals who wait in line and come to the United States legally to work hard and contribute to our society,” McCarthy writes on the page titled “Immigration” on his official House of Representatives website.

“However, we should not provide any amnesty that would benefit those who defy our laws and enter the United States illegally,” it continues. “In order to reduce the number of illegal immigrants in our country, we must enforce the laws that already exist. In order to do this, we must secure our border by using both physical as well as electronic barriers. We should also ensure that illegal immigrants are not receiving any of the benefits that are reserved for American Citizens.”

In a statement provided to Breitbart News, McCarthy’s spokesman Mike Long reiterated that statement on his website and said that only after the border is secure would McCarthy consider legal status for any illegal immigrants.

“Only after the border is secure, Whip McCarthy would consider earned legal status for individuals that were brought to the United States, such as proposals being discussed legislatively regarding kids or those who have served honorably in our armed services,” Long said, a promise that extends to House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s forthcoming KIDS Act, a version of the DREAM Act.

He would only consider the KIDS Act “only after real border security legislation is passed,” Long said.

Despite McCarthy’s stated stance against any form of amnesty, left-wing activists targeted him on Wednesday. As Breitbart News editor-in-chief Joel Pollak reported, 400 activists showed up to protest, even though organizers—progressive activists and labor union leaders—had promised crowds in the thousands. The progressive activists and media storming McCarthy’s Bakersfield office, seen in this video Breitbart News’ Lee Stranahan obtained, seem to have had no effect on his stance on the issue.

McCarthy’s stated position seems to be in line with that of House Speaker John Boehner, who says no immigration bill will be brought to the floor for a vote unless a majority of House Republicans support it. As Breitbart News has reported, it appears no legalization bill that would provide amnesty to any illegal immigrants is going to have the support of the majority of Republicans, though there some members have joined Democrats to support it.

Boehner also said, according to local sheriffs who met with his staff recently, that no legal status for any illegal immigrants will be considered until the border is secured and the nation’s interior immigration laws are enforced.

  135. The Pentagon Has Lost Its Leverage with Egypt. Now What?

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has been on the phone with his Egyptian counterpart, Gen. Abdul Fattah al-Sissi, almost every day since the July 3 military ouster of President Mohamed Morsi. And every day he has urged the Egyptian defense minister to find a peaceful resolution to the political turmoil. He’s called al-Sissi at least 15 times since the military booted Morsi from power, a Pentagon official told Defense One.

By all accounts, al-Sissi had agreed. Just last week, Hagel hung up the phone with Cairo and was reassured that the Egyptian military wanted a peaceful transition. “Minister Al-Sisi underscored his commitment to peaceful resolution of the ongoing protests, and thanked Secretary Hagel for U.S. support,” the Pentagon said, in a description of the Aug. 5 phone call.

After yesterday’s bloody crackdown in the streets of Egypt that left more than 500 dead, including women and children, and scores more injured, it’s clear that Hagel’s pleas have gone unheard or ignored. With world leaders, including President Barack Obama, decrying the massacre, and ice bags and desk fans futilely cooling the overflowing bodies in Cairo’s morgues, Hagel called al-Sissi again on Thursday. According to a Pentagon statement, Hagel “reiterated that the United States remains ready to work with all parties to help achieve a peaceful, inclusive way forward. The Department of Defense will continue to maintain a military relationship with Egypt,” Hagel said, “but I made it clear that the violence and inadequate steps towards reconciliation are putting important elements of our longstanding defense cooperation at risk.”

Hagel’s tepid response falls in line with the commander-in-chief’s own wait-and-see reaction to the deepening Egyptian crisis. President Barack Obama has refused to call the military takedown of Morsi’s elected government a coup, and will continue to send the $1.3 billion in military aid that the U.S. gives to Egypt each year. And Obama is insisting that this is Egypt’s problem — not America’s.

“America cannot determine the future of Egypt. That’s a task for the Egyptian people,” Obama said in a statement from his Martha’s Vineyard vacation on Thursday morning. “We don’t take sides with any particular party or political figure. I know it’s tempting inside of Egypt to blame the United States or the West or some other outside actor for what’s gone wrong.”

  138. Question: why do people go out on the street? Sometimes to celebrate a sports victory, and sometimes to protest against foreign intervention when dealing with a threat.

In the case of Egypt, the ruling class, and their big media surrogates are out in force, defending their glorious messiah, and praising his glorious foreign policy until hell won’t have it any more. And why not? If that country or our country goes to hell, they won’t miss a meal. Yes, indeed, he is their messiah.

Not surprisingly however, people of Egypt have a slightly different take on the messiah. They think he is a boob, an incompetent and an officious inter meddler in the internal affairs of their nation. They are not keen on his attempts to shoe horn the Muslim Brotherhood into a position of dominance. And their people are losing their lives because of the great Messiah Obama.

The question which seems to elude our ruling class however, partly because they are smitten with Obama, and partly because they have more money than god, and are therefore immune from the consequences of policy failures on all fronts under Obama is this: where do our strategic interests in the middle east in general, and in particular Egypt lie?

Larry Johnson, who has more wisdom and experience in these matters than the entire faculty of the John Kennedy School of Government, provides a simple, straightforward, common sense answer to that question:

What is in the national security interest of the United States? Backing forces committed to containing and defeating radical Islamists. Very simple. To that end we ought to be helping the Egyptian military rather than lecturing them.

Obama’s Egypt Disaster and Spreading Fear

By Larry Johnson on August 15, 2013 at 10:32 PM in Current Affairs

The Egyptian military are telling us, not so politely, to shove our policy where the Sun does not shine. They care not a damn about what we think. The Egyptian military has drawn a line in the sand and are not going to surrender or subjugate themselves to Islamic radicals. It is that simple.

Pat Lang writes insightfully (as always):

If you did not expect this, then you do not know Egypt. A maximum use of force against the unarmed is just about the only thing the Egyptian police and armed forces know to do or have any taste for. I am reminded of the Egyptair flight that was hijacked to Malta. the Egyptian Army showed up and shot the plane completely full of holes killing most of the passengers in the process. When asked “why,” by me for the CJCS (Admiral Crowe) the Egyptian commander said “To kill the hijackers.”

As I observed earlier, the military there are not concerned about American opinion. They don’t think the money will be cut off for long. They have other sources of money. They are basically an internal security force and do not need the fancy gear that we have provided them. Abrams tanks, F-16s, etc. are too sophisticated for them to use effectively in actual combat.

I recommend you read his entire piece. Want another bit of evidence about the true meaning of this crackdown? Look at Turkey.

Turkey’s Islamist Prime Minister Erdogan is out with a plaintive wail. Poor baby:

Turkey called on the UN Security Council to meet urgently to discuss the bloodshed in Egypt. “Those who remain silent in the face of this massacre are as guilty as those who carried it out. The UN Security Council must convene quickly,” Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish prime minister, told a news conference.

“If the west does not act sincerely, democracy will be questioned throughout the world,” the Turkish prime minister said, adding that those responsible for this week’s “massacre” should stand trial.

Erdogan understands the stakes. He is leading his own version of an Islamist revolution in Turkey and has been attacking secularists, including the military. So far, he has gotten away with it. But you do not have to be a foreign policy expert to understand that Erdogan is worried that his own military may be emboldened to follow the lead of the Egyptian military.

What is in the national security interest of the United States? Backing forces committed to containing and defeating radical Islamists. Very simple. To that end we ought to be helping the Egyptian military rather than lecturing them.

  139. Spenglar (aka David Goldman)–one of the sharpest knives in the drawer eviscerates our Washington elites over our grand strategy failure in the Middle East, under the intelligent Mr. Obama.

America’s Problems in the Middle East Are Just Beginning
    August 15th, 2013 – 7:45 am

It’s 2015, and there is a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza. The Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood (Hamas), financed by Iran, wins an election on a platform demanding the expulsion of the Jews from Israel. Iran, meanwhile, smuggles shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missiles to terrorist cells in Palestine that can take down civilian airlines at Ben-Gurion Airport. With backing from the Egyptian military, Fatah throws out the elected Hamas government and kills a large number of Hamas supporters. What will Washington do? Given the track record of both the Obama administration and the Republican mainstream, one would expect America to denounce the use of violence against a democratically elected government.

Such is the absurdity of both parties’ stance towards Egypt: the Egyptian military is doing America’s dirty work, suppressing a virulently anti-modern, anti-Semitic and anti-Western Islamist movement whose leader, Mohammed Morsi, famously referred to Israelis as “apes and pigs.” It did so with the enthusiastic support of tens of millions of Egyptians who rallied in the streets in support of the military. And the American mainstream reacted with an ideological knee jerk. America’s presence in the Middle East has imploded.

As it happens, Iran already is smuggling weapons via Syria to the West Bank to gain leverage against the Abbas government, as Stratfor reports (hat tip: the Daily Alert), including surface-to-air and anti-tank missiles. Hamas crushed Fatah in the 2006 West Bank parliamentary elections 74-45, and made short work of the supposedly moderate Palestinian faction when it seized power in Gaza in 2007. As Syria disintegrates, along with Iraq and Lebanon, the artificial borders of Arab states drawn first by Ottoman conquerors and revised by British and French colonial authorities will have small meaning. Palestinians caught up in the Syrian and and Lebanese conflagrations will pour into a new Palestinian state and swell the ranks of the hard-core Jihadi irredentists. Iran will continue to use Hamas as a cat’s paw.

Among other things, the American response to the events in Egypt shows the utter pointlessness of American security guarantees in the present negotiations between Israel and the Palestine Authority. Even in the extremely unlikely event that Mohammed Abbas chose to make peace with Israel, he would face a high probability of civil war, just as Ireland’s independence leader Michael Collins did when he struck a deal with the British for an Irish “Free State” rather than a republic. Collins killed more Irishmen than the British did in the preceding independence struggle. I do not want to compare Abbas to Collins, and I do not think he has any intention of making peace with Israel. But American blundering in Egypt has closed out the option, for whoever makes peace with Israel will require a free hand with Iranian-backed rejectionists.

America forgets that it corrected the flaw in its founding by killing 30 percent of Southern men of military age during its own Civil War, so many that the Confederate Army collapsed for lack of manpower. There are numerous wars which do not end until all the young men who want to fight to the death have had the opportunity to do so. And of all of history’s conflicts, none was so likely to end with this sort of demographic attrition as the present war in the Middle East. Compared to the young Arabs, Persians and Pakistanis of today, American Southerners of 1861 were models of middle-class rectitude, with the world’s highest living standards and bright prospects for the future. The Europeans of 1914 stood at the cusp of modernity; one only can imagine what they might have accomplished had they not committed mutual suicide in two World Wars.

Today’s Middle Eastern and South Asian Muslims have grim future prospects. The world economy has left them behind, and they cannot catch up. Egypt was at the threshold of starvation and economic collapse when the military intervened, bringing in subsidies from the Gulf monarchies. The young men of the Middle East have less to lose, perhaps, than any generation in any country in modern times. As we observe in Syria, large numbers of them will fight to the death.

America cannot bear to think about its own Civil War because the wounds are too painful; in order to reunite the country after 1865, we concocted a myth of tragic fratricide. Wilsonian idealism was born of the South’s attempt to suppress its guilt for the war, I have argued in the past. That is an academic consideration now. America’s credibility in the Middle East, thanks to the delusions of both parties, is broken, and it cannot be repaired within the time frame required to forestall the next stage of violence. Egypt’s military and its Saudi backers are aghast at American stupidity. Israel is frustrated by America’s inability to understand that Egypt’s military is committed to upholding the peace treaty with Israel while the Muslim Brotherhood wants war. Both Israel and the Gulf States observe the utter fecklessness of Washington’s efforts to contain Iran’s nuclear weapons program.

The events of the past week have demonstrated that America’s allies in the Middle East from Israel to the Persian Gulf can trust no one in Washington — neither Barack Obama nor John McCain. Those of us in America who try to analyze events in the region will be the last to hear the news, and the value of our work will diminish over time

  140. You may find it ironic that the two most delusional men in the country on the incentives and constraints on American foreign policy, Obama and McCain, were the standard bearers for their respective parties in 2008. That is what the RINOs and the DINOs have given us. These are not easy problems, but they quickly become impossible, when your own leaders are not playing with a full deck.

  141. Hillary Clinton May Pass the Time Until 2016 in Academia

Hillary Clinton already has quite the list of occupations in her Twitter bio and now she has the opportunity to add “college professor” to the list. Sources tell Politico that Clinton is fielding several offers to enter academia in some capacity. What each institution is proposing is unclear, but Clinton has been offered a program in her name or a spot on the faculty at several schools, including the Harvard Kennedy School, Yale, and New York University (where Chelsea Clinton has multiple faculty gigs). Baruch College reportedly has the most elaborate proposal: renaming its entire public policy school after Clinton.

Politico notes that holding an academic position could give Clinton a reason to deliver policy speeches in the coming months aside from her messy relationship with the Clinton Foundation. Harvard, NYU, and Baruch College have all confirmed that they made some sort of invitation to Clinton, and the talks are said to be in the “listening” phase (with Clinton adviser Maggie Williams doing most of that listening).

  148. Foxy, maybe Hillary doesn’t have a lifetime of Secret Service security, and not sure about the ex-SOS situation.

I know she has security, so it might be out of pocket for her, but I found this fact:

All current former presidents are entitled to lifetime Secret Service protection. However, as a result of legislation enacted in 1997, President George W. Bush will be the first president to have his protection limited to 10 years after he leaves office.

  149. Reagan biographer Craig Shirley says such a characterization is nonsense.

Shirley, who worked on Reagan’s 1980 and 1984 presidential campaigns, says the country’s 40th president signed the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday into law as well as legislation extending the Voting Rights and Fair Housing Acts.

A critical scene in the movie shows Reagan (Alan Rickman) bluntly threatening to crush sanctions against South Africa for its racist policies.

Shirley says Reagan’s position on the matter was far more intricate than the film describes, a stand that likely helped the nation emerge from its hateful policies with less bloodshed.

  152. Of course Egypt and Putin would dismiss the US. Our own CONGRESS dismisses the American people, so why shouldn’t other nations?

    Excerpt from article –

In one of the documents, agency personnel are instructed to remove details and substitute more generic language in reports to the Justice Department and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence — reports used as the basis for informing Congress.

Obama has repeatedly said that Congress was thoroughly briefed on the programs revealed by Snowden in June, but some senior lawmakers said they had been unaware of the NSA audit until they read the news on Friday. The programs described earlier vacuum up vast amounts of metadata — such as telephone numbers called and called from, the time and duration of calls — from most Americans’ phone records, and scoop up global Internet usage data.

Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Patrick Leahy announced he would hold hearings into the new disclosures.

“I remain concerned that we are still not getting straightforward answers from the NSA,” the Vermont Democrat said in a statement.

Senate Intelligence Committee chairwoman Dianne Feinstein said her committee had been notified of compliance problems — not by seeing the internal audit but through legally required reports to her committee.

“In all such cases, the incidents have been addressed by ending or adapting the activity,” the California Democrat said in a statement.” She added, “The committee has never identified an instance in which the NSA has intentionally abused its authority to conduct surveillance for inappropriate purposes.”

But she said that committee would be asking for additional reports in future, and members would start making routine trips to the NSA to oversee its activities.

Her Republican House counterpart, Intelligence chairman Mike Rogers, said human error was inevitable and “there was no intentional and willful violation of the law.”

But two senators who have consistently opposed the NSA programs said the new information was incomplete.

“We believe Americans should know that this confirmation is just the tip of a larger iceberg,” said Democratic Sens. Mark Udall of Colorado and Ron Wyden of Oregon in a statement. Both declined to provide details, citing Senate rules about discussing classified information.

Proposed legislation to dismantle the programs was narrowly defeated last month in the House. The July legislative effort brought together Libertarian-leaning conservatives and liberal Democrats who pressed for change against congressional leaders and lawmakers focused on security.

House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, who generally supports the programs, said in a statement Friday that the new revelations “are extremely disturbing.”

  153. One more comment about Steve Lonegan’s run for NJ Senate. I promise this is the last. There is upbeat news from his campaign manager and I put it before you because if Booker were to lose, well I don’t have to explain 🙂 🙂 :).
On Wednesday, October 16th, New Jersey voters will go to the polls in a special election for the U.S. Senate. Mark Levin calls this “a very important election.”

In fact, in endorsing conservative Steve Lonegan on his show, Levin said: “The whole nation should really pay attention to this. I want people in New Jersey and the rest of the country to know: Steve Lonegan isn’t a flash in the pan, he isn’t a fly by night. He’s been a fighting, Constitutional conservative from day one… He’s the real deal.” Steve Lonegan can win this race. In fact, U.S. News & World Report says that the winner will be the hardest working candidate, and there’s no candidate who works harder and smarter than Steve Lonegan. Conservative activists and voters are fired up and ready to turn out on Election Day, even while most other New Jerseyans are suffering from serious Obama fatigue. And, when the choice is between a fighting, Constitutional conservative like Lonegan and a cookie-cutter, Obama rubberstamp like Cory Booker, the momentum will be in our favor. I’m not going to lie: Our campaign is being heavily outspent. The liberals are flooding Booker’s campaign with money. Oprah Winfrey. Eva Longoria. All of President Obama’s Hollywood fundraisers are working overtime to put his protégé in the Senate to further the President’s failed far-left, policies. Despite that, the polls are tightening.
    Campaign Manager, Lonegan for Senate

  154. As the foreign policy of the United States in the Middle East collapses, we see Obama, who in many ways engineered that collapse behave like a bystander to his own presidency. He and his Harvard trained advisors managed to overthrow a staunch US ally, Mubarak, and install Morsi who favored China’s interests over ours. Moreover, the Muslim Brotherhood we supported to the point that they had and may still have offices in the White House and access to critical information, is murdering Egyptian citizens, which is not what allies of this sainted administration are supposed to do. Finally, Obama cloud cuckooland polcies have been rebuked by our key ally Saudi Arabia, who sides with the new government in opposing the Morsi forces. And what does Obama say about all this? The Egyptian people deserve better and we will not take sides. Problem is, we already have. Lastly, a fuerher bunker attitude has developed in the White House and among the ruling class in Washington which perpetuates the pro Obama narrative even as Rome burns. At this point the chances are about zero that we can put Humpty Dumpty together again. The other thing that we see from the ruling class is a new McCarthyism directed toward anyone who dares to disagree with them or their failing policies.

    A Tale of Two Rivers

    August 16th, 2013 – 8:38 am

The Saudi king has just declared his support for the new Egyptian government, and presumably for its crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood. Al Arabiya says:

Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz said the kingdom supports Egypt in the fight “against terrorism.”

King Abdullah said Egypt’s stability is being targeted by “haters” warning that anyone that interferes in Egypt’s internal affairs seeks to “waken sedition.”

That potentially puts the KSA on a collision course with the U.S.A. Obama, who has built a coalition with the KSA to oppose Russia and Iran, may be finding himself squaring off with King Abdullah in Egypt. Meanwhile, speaking of Russia, the Washington Free Beacon says that Moscow is hovering around Egypt, just waiting to pick up the pieces:

The Obama administration support for Muslim Brotherhood Islamists in Egypt is driving the powerful military there against the United States and toward Moscow, according to U.S. officials and reports from the region.

The pro-Muslim Brotherhood stance is undermining decades of U.S. policy toward the Middle East state and prompting concerns that the United States is about to “lose” Egypt as a strategic partner, said officials familiar with intelligence reports.

Almost bizarrely, The Diplomat is wondering where China is in all of this: “Why is China Dithering While Cairo Burns?”

As Rosie Collington noted on World Outline recently, China greatly benefited from Morsi’s presidency, and had a lot invested in that relationship.

Morsi courted China aggressively in his attempt to solve the country’s fiscal woes and reduce U.S. influence in Egypt. To that end, he made China the destination of his first trip overseas after becoming president. He was hosted in Beijing by then President Hu Jintao, who declared at the time, “You chose China to be one of the first countries to visit after taking office. This shows that you attach great importance to Sino-Egyptian relations. I believe your visit to China will further boost our cooperation in all fields.”

True to his word, Hu signed no less than eight cooperative agreements with Morsi during the trip. Even before then, during the tumultuous year of 2011 in Cairo, Sino-Egyptian trade rose to US$8.8 billion, a 30 percent increase from 2010, according to Xinhua. Last year it rose to US$9.5 billion.

Beijing may enter the lists yet. There’s an almost palpable power vacuum in the Middle East with Washington out to lunch. Time headlines “Egypt’s Nightmare Scenario Draws Nearer,” and illustrates the story with President Barack Obama making a statement on the situation in Egypt … from the driveway of his vacation house in Martha’s Vineyard.

Obama has become a spectator of his own presidency.

Time continued its story by quoting Century Foundation’s Michael Wahid Hanna as saying:

I think a cycle of violence is coming. This will likely take the form of insurgent tactics, including possibly suicide bombings and assassinations.

    You don’t say?

Probably he means bombings and assassinations like in Lebanon, where a deadly blast has rocked Hezbollah’s stronghold, prompting those interviewed to name Israel, al-Qaeda, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the Syrian rebels, Sunni rebels, the United States and the European Union as possible suspects. Have they left anyone out?

Egypt is tipping over into civil war in a decidedly uncivil way. ”At least 700 people are dead and more than 3,700 injured after the violent dispersal of the pro-Morsi sit-ins by security forces unleashed a wave of violence across the country yesterday,” according to the Denver Post, in a piece perceptively titled “Egypt chaos: Not everyone in Cairo is unhappy with the violence.”

It’s open season on everybody. CNN says “‘Horrible’: Christian churches across Egypt stormed, torched.” At this writing, more than a dozen more have died as pro-Morsi demonstrations wend their way through Cairo. The Washington Post is liveblogging the nonstop clashes, morgue shots, scenes of people leaping off bridges, etc — what the New York Times is now calling “urban warfare.”

Spengler says the region is just beginning to fall apart — wait till it gets going.

Jackson Diehl at the Washington Post is thunderstruck by the abstracted, almost unreal atmosphere within the Obama administration:

Incredibly, some officials close to Kerry were arguing in recent weeks that one reason not to designate Egypt’s coup a coup was to avoid dampening the Mideast “peace process” — whose prospects for success are invisible to all outside the administration, including the Israelis and Palestinians themselves. Never mind the burning city, goes the logic; we’ve got our hands full building this Potemkin village.

That Potemkin Village is called Narrativeville, and lots of people inside the Beltway actually live in it. In that town, all problems can be solved by sending off new talking points to Journolist to make reality conform to fiction.

Except maybe this time it won’t happen beyond the remit of the Metro. The unaccountable refusal of reality to conform would puzzle many in Washington. But the last few weeks have been a story of two cities built by a river: one by the Potomac and the other by the Nile, each afflicted by its own brand of madness.

All the demands that America “do something in Egypt” are really preconditioned on one unstated assumption: that Washington itself knows what to do. That used to be a reasonable assumption; it is not any more.

  155. The most pernicious red herring we have seen in the last twenty years is the race issue. Here is a terrific summary – not at all politically correct – by Roger L. Simon (not the ball-less wonder who writes drivel for the honor and glory of Barry the Goon at Politico and elsewhere, for all I know). This guy is the real deal who is not afraid to speak truth to power and he has a good head on his shoulders which should be the envy of our Congressional eunuchs.

Short but sweet, it says what we all know to be true. It is the minorities who are being so crudely abused by the self serving promoters in the NAACP, Congressional Black Caucus, Affirmative Action brigades and the self styled “Black Leaders” like Sharpton, Jackson, Farrakhan, blah, blah.

At long last a little fresh air and reason in this nuthouse:

    End the Civil Rights Movement
Martin Luther King would not be amused by the pitiful current state of the civil rights movement.
End the civil rights movement. Now. Shoot the sucker and put it (and us) out of its misery.
It’s a relic of the 1960s about as relevant as bell bottom trousers.
When we are debating Oprah Winfrey’s right to buy a thirty-five thousand dollar purse or whether Barack Obama’s dog should be flown to Martha’s Vineyard in the canine’s own private state-of-the art military transport [1], you know it’s finished. Or should be.
It’s also time for the NAACP and the Black Caucus to close up shop. They are dinosaurs from another era, making life miserable for the very people they are intended to help.
Black unemployment is at record levels during the administration of the first black president and that horrible situation is aided and abetted by those organizations. They are determined to preserve the image of black people as victims — an insulting self-fullfilling prophecy. What was once a solution has become the problem.
Affirmative action should also be flushed down the toilet with the civil rights movement. It contributes to the same syndrome of victimhood, simultaneously dividing our society, which is divided enough already.
The race card is a perfect example of this division and why this movement should be extinguished. Anybody who plays the race card in our country today is less than pond scum. It has become the 21st century equivalent of accusing someone of witchcraft in seventeenth century Salem.
Anyone who uses the race card should be considered a pariah automatically. It’s almost always projection.
Black and brown people above all would profit from the end of the civil rights movement. We already have strong civil rights legislation. If anyone breaks the law, prosecute them. Meanwhile, move on. Stop dwelling on discrimination. Stop scratching the scab and let it heal.

The bill’s long overdue on Eric Holder’s maxed-out race card.
Let’s find some productive work for Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and the rest. Find them a shovel-ready project.
    And forget about race.
Forget about Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman and all of that.
Stop the endless discussions of race on the cable news networks, send the talking heads out to pasture or make them blather on about something else, force Geraldo to ignore the next phony story about someone who allegedly called somebody something twenty years ago when they had too much bourbon.
And absolutely no more talk of the n-word, crackers or any other racial epithet known or unknown. Just drop it.
And when we discuss Oprah, tell it like it really is — she’s a celebrity who has been extremely rich and famous for decades and has almost no idea what it’s really like to be a shopgirl in Zurich or anywhere else.
Her story is one of Marie Antoinette, not Rosa Parks.
And that’s the point. Rosa Parks was a very brave woman who made a tremendous contribution to our country — in 1955! That’s almost sixty years ago. Stop this nostalgia for racism. Stop playing the race card. Switch to Old Maid — or rummy. End the civil rights movement. We should all honor Rosa Parks’ great contribution by moving on.

  156. We felt he same way about Obama….race is a big factor and the libs would much rather have another AA male president than Hillary .

  157. What animates our beloved ruling class, who installed the incompetent Mr. Obama?

Obviously, power is one thing, meaning their ability to impose their will on the American People, whether we like it or not, and regardless of the adverse impact it has on our lives.

But, I believe there is another factor which is equally compelling, but far less known and understood.

As the world changes, technology expands and a global community evolves, our ruling class is no longer content to be part of the aristocracy of this country.

Now, what they are really aiming for is to be part of a global elite.

They are indifferent to the fate of the American People.

And that is why the increasing centralization of power in Washington represents a threat.

The candidate who is willing to recognize that threat, and put forth an agenda to deal with it

Will have my vote in the next election.

The candidate who supports the elites, and helps them expand their power, categorically will not.

I doubt 1 American in 1000 sees this threat.

But that does not make it any less real.

The NSA overreach, denied of course by their tool Obama, is merely the tip of the iceberg.

Congressman Dingle’s infamous words it will take us time to bet control of the American People are best evidence.
