Update: Don’t get excited about the news that’s Breaking: First criminal charges filed over Benghazi attack. It’s just a publicity stunt indictment of one of the leaders of the murderous attack against America on September 11 in Benghazi. Lawsuits are not the way to fight the war on terror and murderous Islam.
The lawsuit is an Obama publicity stunt designed to block CNN’s curious interest in Benghazi especially as September 11 appears on the horizon. Tonight CNN is following up on it’s hours of interviews with the now indicted Khattalah by airing a one hour special on the Obama “phony” scandal – the murder of an American ambassador.
With this publicity stunt indictment the most we can expect is a trial focused on “work place violence” as we are currently witnessing in the
terror trial “work place violence” trial of Muslim murderer Hasan. The way to fight terror is not with law proceedings in the courts. HOPE and wishes won’t stop terror. Today that obvious fact is acknowledged by the WaPo: Obama’s wishful thinking won’t win war on terror. The Washington Post is really perplexed:
THE STATE Department has shuttered 19 embassies for a week, fearing terrorist attacks. Hundreds of prisoners, including senior al-Qaeda operatives, have busted loose in prison breaks in Iraq, Libya and Pakistan. At Bagram air base in Afghanistan, The Post’s Kevin Sieff reports, U.S. forces are holding 67 non-Afghan prisoners, many of whom can’t be tried in court but are too dangerous to release.
Meanwhile President Obama says he wants to “refine and ultimately repeal” the mandate Congress has given him to fight the war on terror. What’s going on here?
The answer of course is that Barack Obama is not qualified to be president because he does not have a world view congruent with reality. As we note in our main article the problem is Obama and his lies which so many dupes believed in 2008 and in 2012. Others have noticed Obama is the problem:
“Vague terrorist threats shutting down nineteen of our embassies, Russian strongman Putin thumbing his nose at President Obama, Iran jerking our chain – the U.S. hasn’t looked this cowardly on the world stage since the Jimmy Carter administration.
Here at home, too, we’ve gone back to the Carter future; unemployment is high, Keynesian economics are all the rage, our professorial president is increasingly whiny and ineffectual; all that’s missing is a cardigan sweater and that infernal violin. [snip]
Both Carter and Obama came to office convinced that by dint of righteousness or personality they could win over our enemies. That it was just a matter of persuasion. [snip]
Naivete is costly. Both the Carter and Obama administrations have been distinguished by the rare murder of an ambassador. [snip]
The parallels between the Carter and Obama presidencies are not accidental. Both men were elected in what amounted to a national rejection of their predecessors.
Neither candidate had any significant executive experience or foreign policy chops.
Carter ran on being an honest man – not Tricky Dick Nixon. Obama ran on being likeable and eager to unite the country – not arrogant and divisive George W. Bush.
Both men promised change, and fulfilled that promise. Unhappily, they did not always deliver change for the better.
The similarities between Obama and Carter are not confined to foreign fiascos.”
Foreign and domestic fiascoes almost as if by design courtesy of Barack Obama. Expect more fiascoes and more publicity stunts. Tonight there will be another Barack Obama publicity stunt as he appears on the Jay Leno Tonight Show. It will be up to a professional clown to ask tough questions to the bumbling White House clown.
Much of the political commentary this midsummer, from the left and the right, is fixated on Barack Obama’s propaganda machine of 2012. The narrative focuses on Obama’s 2012 election year declaration that he not only killed Bin Laden but ‘on the run’ al-Qaeda as well. GM and Detroit, the boast followed, lived on because of Obama. This narrative is generous to Obama and his acolytes. In addition this narrative is dangerous because it avoids the central lesson to be learned.
By now, less than a year away from the 2012 elections, only the crackheads believe Detroit is an item on the parched blank sheet of Obama “successes”. The election year 2012 Obama claim that al-Qaeda is on the run or dead likewise is buried as terrorist threats have closed American embassies in nearly two dozen countries worldwide. After the announced one day closure, the State Department announced Embassy closures extended until Saturday.
“U.S. intelligence officials are dealing with the most credible terrorist threat in years as 19 diplomatic posts in the Middle East and Africa remain closed through this upcoming Saturday.
CBS News reports that a large-scale attack may be imminent as al-Qaeda terrorists in the Arabian Peninsula already have their orders and could be in place for execution of the alleged plot. [snip]
In recent days, U.S. officials have said they have received significant and detailed intelligence suggesting a possible attack, with some clues pointing to the al-Qaeda terror network. The State Department said the potential for terrorism was particularly acute in the Middle East and North Africa, with a possible attack occurring on or coming from the Arabian Peninsula.”
Some have doubts and believe that perhaps the threats are exaggerated. Jeffrey Goldberg is embarrassed for the home of the brave:
“It seems as if al-Qaeda, or its Arabian Peninsula branch, has succeeded in terrorizing the United States of America again, but this time without – as of this writing – detonating an ounce of C4. It doesn’t strike me as a wise idea to preemptively shutter 21 different American embassies across the Middle East and North Africa in response to NSA-collected terrorist chatter. What message does this post-Benghazi, “don’t say we didn’t tell you” move send to the citizens of the Middle East, who, it is our hope, understand the United States to be a powerful and fearless country dedicated to openness and to the defeat of fanaticism? We have already muddied any message of fearlessness by turning our embassies into bunkers. Now, we are admitting that these bunkers aren’t safe. What next? Virtual embassies on Facebook? Ambassadors who never leave Washington?
The Administration tells us that the heightened threat of al-Qaeda terror extends through the end of the month. Is the State Department going to keep its diplomatic fortresses closed through September 1? Late this afternoon, State announced that 19 diplomatic posts are going to stay closed until August 10; others, including those in Baghdad, and Kabul, of all places, are scheduled to reopen Monday. It is unclear if these closings will be extended, or if the reopening embassies and consulates will again be closed. It could be that many of our diplomats — who, by the way, are still living in the target countries, just in less secure locations, generally, than embassy compounds – will not be at work for awhile.
It is plausible that the intelligence community is fearful of this weekend in particular, because, as Bloomberg’s Nicole Gaouette and David Lerman have noted, Sunday is the Muslim holiday known as the Night of Power, and al-Qaeda-type extremists sometimes mark important holidays on the Muslim calendar by trying to kill people.“
The Benghazi attack which killed four Americans occurred on September 11 but somehow that anniversary date did not prompt special awareness. Or maybe it did? Because what was really going on there has not yet been fully explained (ahem, C.I.A.) due to the remarkably effective Obama stonewall, we still are in the information gathering stage even with subpoena power available to House investigators. It’s clear the “Night of Power” has a resonance with Barack that September 11 did not.
But it really is all besides the point we wish to make. Again.
We’ve made this point before and will make it at every possibility. What is the point? What is the lesson that must be learned?
“What does he offer? First and foremost: his face. Think of it as the most effective potential re-branding of the United States since Reagan. Such a re-branding is not trivial—it’s central to an effective war strategy. The war on Islamist terror, after all, is two-pronged: a function of both hard power and soft power. We have seen the potential of hard power in removing the Taliban and Saddam Hussein. We have also seen its inherent weaknesses in Iraq, and its profound limitations in winning a long war against radical Islam. The next president has to create a sophisticated and supple blend of soft and hard power to isolate the enemy, to fight where necessary, but also to create an ideological template that works to the West’s advantage over the long haul. There is simply no other candidate with the potential of Obama to do this. Which is where his face comes in.
Consider this hypothetical. It’s November 2008. A young Pakistani Muslim is watching television and sees that this man—Barack Hussein Obama—is the new face of America. In one simple image, America’s soft power has been ratcheted up not a notch, but a logarithm. A brown-skinned man whose father was an African, who grew up in Indonesia and Hawaii, who attended a majority-Muslim school as a boy, is now the alleged enemy. If you wanted the crudest but most effective weapon against the demonization of America that fuels Islamist ideology, Obama’s face gets close. It proves them wrong about what America is in ways no words can.
Sullivan wrote that crap in December 2007. It is not only crap it is a dangerous world view.
Barack Obama and his fellators believe that personality and skin color have magic powers sufficient to override national interests. America’s enemies would be transformed because of Obama’s back-slapping, flim-flamming personality allied with the color of his skin. Hasn’t turned out that way has it?
The hate directed at America is not one cured by a big grin and a higher level of melanin. As to melanin, remember when Barack Obama was also going to turn the page on race relations? Instead of a summer of racial love we have suffered through a season of Zimmerman because of race-baiting Barack Obama.
In 2008’s “Dumb White People” we noted how John Kerry played the race card for Barack Obama:
He has an ability to help us bridge the divide of religious extremism. … .. Because he’s African American. Because he’s a black man who has come from a place of oppression and repression in through the years in our own country. We only broke the back of civil rights Jim Crow in the 1960s here. Everybody in the world knows this is a recent journey for America.
John Kerry not only our man in Nantucket, he’s the guy in charge of the embassy closings. He’s not the brightest bulb to rely on at this dark hour.
What should John Kerry know and what should American policy be? First, understand who is still the leader of the post-racial world:
“Andrew Sullivan does not understand that the real post-racial figure in the world today is
Barack ObamaOsama Bin Laden. Osama Bin Laden, and that young Sullivanesque Pakistani Muslim are post racial.
Osama Bin Laden does not care at all if you are African-American, Jewish-American, Irish-American, White-American, Chinese-American, Indian-American, etc. All Osama Bin Laden cares about is that you are American. Then Osama will kill you. Or try to kill you. Osama Bin Laden is post-racial. Kill Americans. It’s that simple. Osama, does not care if you are black or white, ebony or ivory.“
Osama might be gone but if he had a Trayvon, Trayvon would be a terrorist plotting attacks against America.
Second, but most important: America’s enemies hate America because we are a country based on principles they hate. They hate us even more because we thwart them repeatedly and we have the wealth to continue to thwart them.
Until American policy makers deeply understand that the threat directed against us are not due to the color or personality of our leaders, but because of our wealth and power guided by our freedom loving philosophy none of us will be safe.
Further the Andrew Sullivans, John Kerry’s, and assorted Hopium Guzzlers must realize and admit that on the two major Obama promises of 2008 – racial harmony and peace with the Muslim world, Barack has been and is a total failure. That’s the ugly mole that continues to grow on Obama’s face.
