Obama’s Face Revisited Again – With Chisels

Update: Don’t get excited about the news that’s Breaking: First criminal charges filed over Benghazi attack. It’s just a publicity stunt indictment of one of the leaders of the murderous attack against America on September 11 in Benghazi. Lawsuits are not the way to fight the war on terror and murderous Islam.

The lawsuit is an Obama publicity stunt designed to block CNN’s curious interest in Benghazi especially as September 11 appears on the horizon. Tonight CNN is following up on it’s hours of interviews with the now indicted Khattalah by airing a one hour special on the Obama “phony” scandal – the murder of an American ambassador.

With this publicity stunt indictment the most we can expect is a trial focused on “work place violence” as we are currently witnessing in the terror trial “work place violence” trial of Muslim murderer Hasan. The way to fight terror is not with law proceedings in the courts. HOPE and wishes won’t stop terror. Today that obvious fact is acknowledged by the WaPo: Obama’s wishful thinking won’t win war on terror. The Washington Post is really perplexed:

THE STATE Department has shuttered 19 embassies for a week, fearing terrorist attacks. Hundreds of prisoners, including senior al-Qaeda operatives, have busted loose in prison breaks in Iraq, Libya and Pakistan. At Bagram air base in Afghanistan, The Post’s Kevin Sieff reports, U.S. forces are holding 67 non-Afghan prisoners, many of whom can’t be tried in court but are too dangerous to release.

Meanwhile President Obama says he wants to “refine and ultimately repeal” the mandate Congress has given him to fight the war on terror. What’s going on here?

The answer of course is that Barack Obama is not qualified to be president because he does not have a world view congruent with reality. As we note in our main article the problem is Obama and his lies which so many dupes believed in 2008 and in 2012. Others have noticed Obama is the problem:

“Vague terrorist threats shutting down nineteen of our embassies, Russian strongman Putin thumbing his nose at President Obama, Iran jerking our chain – the U.S. hasn’t looked this cowardly on the world stage since the Jimmy Carter administration.

Here at home, too, we’ve gone back to the Carter future; unemployment is high, Keynesian economics are all the rage, our professorial president is increasingly whiny and ineffectual; all that’s missing is a cardigan sweater and that infernal violin. [snip]

Both Carter and Obama came to office convinced that by dint of righteousness or personality they could win over our enemies. That it was just a matter of persuasion. [snip]

Naivete is costly. Both the Carter and Obama administrations have been distinguished by the rare murder of an ambassador. [snip]

The parallels between the Carter and Obama presidencies are not accidental. Both men were elected in what amounted to a national rejection of their predecessors.

Neither candidate had any significant executive experience or foreign policy chops.

Carter ran on being an honest man – not Tricky Dick Nixon. Obama ran on being likeable and eager to unite the country – not arrogant and divisive George W. Bush.

Both men promised change, and fulfilled that promise. Unhappily, they did not always deliver change for the better.

The similarities between Obama and Carter are not confined to foreign fiascos.”

Foreign and domestic fiascoes almost as if by design courtesy of Barack Obama. Expect more fiascoes and more publicity stunts. Tonight there will be another Barack Obama publicity stunt as he appears on the Jay Leno Tonight Show. It will be up to a professional clown to ask tough questions to the bumbling White House clown.

———————————————————————————————————

Much of the political commentary this midsummer, from the left and the right, is fixated on Barack Obama’s propaganda machine of 2012. The narrative focuses on Obama’s 2012 election year declaration that he not only killed Bin Laden but ‘on the run’ al-Qaeda as well. GM and Detroit, the boast followed, lived on because of Obama. This narrative is generous to Obama and his acolytes. In addition this narrative is dangerous because it avoids the central lesson to be learned.

By now, less than a year away from the 2012 elections, only the crackheads believe Detroit is an item on the parched blank sheet of Obama “successes”. The election year 2012 Obama claim that al-Qaeda is on the run or dead likewise is buried as terrorist threats have closed American embassies in nearly two dozen countries worldwide. After the announced one day closure, the State Department announced Embassy closures extended until Saturday.

There is really no need to know the details of what is going on with this latest Obama debacle. Some reports are that there are some reports that report the threats are real:

“U.S. intelligence officials are dealing with the most credible terrorist threat in years as 19 diplomatic posts in the Middle East and Africa remain closed through this upcoming Saturday.

CBS News reports that a large-scale attack may be imminent as al-Qaeda terrorists in the Arabian Peninsula already have their orders and could be in place for execution of the alleged plot. [snip]

In recent days, U.S. officials have said they have received significant and detailed intelligence suggesting a possible attack, with some clues pointing to the al-Qaeda terror network. The State Department said the potential for terrorism was particularly acute in the Middle East and North Africa, with a possible attack occurring on or coming from the Arabian Peninsula.”

Some have doubts and believe that perhaps the threats are exaggerated. Jeffrey Goldberg is embarrassed for the home of the brave:

“It seems as if al-Qaeda, or its Arabian Peninsula branch, has succeeded in terrorizing the United States of America again, but this time without – as of this writing – detonating an ounce of C4. It doesn’t strike me as a wise idea to preemptively shutter 21 different American embassies across the Middle East and North Africa in response to NSA-collected terrorist chatter. What message does this post-Benghazi, “don’t say we didn’t tell you” move send to the citizens of the Middle East, who, it is our hope, understand the United States to be a powerful and fearless country dedicated to openness and to the defeat of fanaticism? We have already muddied any message of fearlessness by turning our embassies into bunkers. Now, we are admitting that these bunkers aren’t safe. What next? Virtual embassies on Facebook? Ambassadors who never leave Washington?

The Administration tells us that the heightened threat of al-Qaeda terror extends through the end of the month. Is the State Department going to keep its diplomatic fortresses closed through September 1? Late this afternoon, State announced that 19 diplomatic posts are going to stay closed until August 10; others, including those in Baghdad, and Kabul, of all places, are scheduled to reopen Monday. It is unclear if these closings will be extended, or if the reopening embassies and consulates will again be closed. It could be that many of our diplomats — who, by the way, are still living in the target countries, just in less secure locations, generally, than embassy compounds – will not be at work for awhile.

It is plausible that the intelligence community is fearful of this weekend in particular, because, as Bloomberg’s Nicole Gaouette and David Lerman have noted, Sunday is the Muslim holiday known as the Night of Power, and al-Qaeda-type extremists sometimes mark important holidays on the Muslim calendar by trying to kill people.

The Benghazi attack which killed four Americans occurred on September 11 but somehow that anniversary date did not prompt special awareness. Or maybe it did? Because what was really going on there has not yet been fully explained (ahem, C.I.A.) due to the remarkably effective Obama stonewall, we still are in the information gathering stage even with subpoena power available to House investigators. It’s clear the “Night of Power” has a resonance with Barack that September 11 did not.

But it really is all besides the point we wish to make. Again.

We’ve made this point before and will make it at every possibility. What is the point? What is the lesson that must be learned?

Obama’s Face. Remember Obama’s Face? We’ve written repeatedly about that butt ugly face. But it was butt stupid Andrew Sullivan that first wrote about Obama’s Face:

“What does he offer? First and foremost: his face. Think of it as the most effective potential re-branding of the United States since Reagan. Such a re-branding is not trivial—it’s central to an effective war strategy. The war on Islamist terror, after all, is two-pronged: a function of both hard power and soft power. We have seen the potential of hard power in removing the Taliban and Saddam Hussein. We have also seen its inherent weaknesses in Iraq, and its profound limitations in winning a long war against radical Islam. The next president has to create a sophisticated and supple blend of soft and hard power to isolate the enemy, to fight where necessary, but also to create an ideological template that works to the West’s advantage over the long haul. There is simply no other candidate with the potential of Obama to do this. Which is where his face comes in.

Consider this hypothetical. It’s November 2008. A young Pakistani Muslim is watching television and sees that this man—Barack Hussein Obama—is the new face of America. In one simple image, America’s soft power has been ratcheted up not a notch, but a logarithm. A brown-skinned man whose father was an African, who grew up in Indonesia and Hawaii, who attended a majority-Muslim school as a boy, is now the alleged enemy. If you wanted the crudest but most effective weapon against the demonization of America that fuels Islamist ideology, Obama’s face gets close. It proves them wrong about what America is in ways no words can.

Sullivan wrote that crap in December 2007. It is not only crap it is a dangerous world view.

Barack Obama and his fellators believe that personality and skin color have magic powers sufficient to override national interests. America’s enemies would be transformed because of Obama’s back-slapping, flim-flamming personality allied with the color of his skin. Hasn’t turned out that way has it?

The hate directed at America is not one cured by a big grin and a higher level of melanin. As to melanin, remember when Barack Obama was also going to turn the page on race relations? Instead of a summer of racial love we have suffered through a season of Zimmerman because of race-baiting Barack Obama.

In 2008’s “Dumb White People” we noted how John Kerry played the race card for Barack Obama:

He has an ability to help us bridge the divide of religious extremism. … .. Because he’s African American. Because he’s a black man who has come from a place of oppression and repression in through the years in our own country. We only broke the back of civil rights Jim Crow in the 1960s here. Everybody in the world knows this is a recent journey for America.

John Kerry not only our man in Nantucket, he’s the guy in charge of the embassy closings. He’s not the brightest bulb to rely on at this dark hour.

What should John Kerry know and what should American policy be? First, understand who is still the leader of the post-racial world:

“Andrew Sullivan does not understand that the real post-racial figure in the world today is Barack Obama Osama Bin Laden. Osama Bin Laden, and that young Sullivanesque Pakistani Muslim are post racial.

Osama Bin Laden does not care at all if you are African-American, Jewish-American, Irish-American, White-American, Chinese-American, Indian-American, etc. All Osama Bin Laden cares about is that you are American. Then Osama will kill you. Or try to kill you. Osama Bin Laden is post-racial. Kill Americans. It’s that simple. Osama, does not care if you are black or white, ebony or ivory.

Osama might be gone but if he had a Trayvon, Trayvon would be a terrorist plotting attacks against America.

Second, but most important: America’s enemies hate America because we are a country based on principles they hate. They hate us even more because we thwart them repeatedly and we have the wealth to continue to thwart them.

Until American policy makers deeply understand that the threat directed against us are not due to the color or personality of our leaders, but because of our wealth and power guided by our freedom loving philosophy none of us will be safe.

Further the Andrew Sullivans, John Kerry’s, and assorted Hopium Guzzlers must realize and admit that on the two major Obama promises of 2008 – racial harmony and peace with the Muslim world, Barack has been and is a total failure. That’s the ugly mole that continues to grow on Obama’s face.

  1. Less than a year after re-election, President Obama is now the top target of late-night comedians.

Obama was the punch line of 288 monologue jokes by Jay Leno, David Letterman, Jimmy Fallon, Craig Ferguson and Jimmy Kimmel during the first half of 2012, according to a new study.

Second place: Embattled New York City mayoral candidate and celebrity texter Anthony Weiner, subject of 120 jokes. (Weiner is likely to close the gap the longer he stays in the race.)

The analysis was done by the Center for Media and Public Affairs at George Mason University in Virginia.

During the 2012 election, error-prone Republican candidate Mitt Romney topped the late-night joke survey, the target of twice as many jokes as the incumbent President Obama.

Now, with Republican politicians more in the background, Obama is front and center during late-night monologues.

Maybe this will be a source of discussion when Obama visits Leno’s Tonight show on Tuesday.

The Associated Press notes that even Letterman, generally seen as sympathetic to Obama, has piled on the president.

A recent Letterman joke: “People always say to me, they say, ‘Hey, Letterman,’ they say. ‘Why don’t you make jokes about Obama?’ And I say, ‘All right, I’ll tell you why. I don’t make jokes about him because I don’t want the FBI tapping my phone.'”

    Also from the Associated Press:

“Democrats were the target of 713 jokes between January and June 2013, compared to 417 gags about Republicans, the study said. The only Republicans among the top 10 joke targets were former president George W. Bush and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, the CMPA said.

“Fallon was the toughest comic on Democrats, targeting them 240 times compared to 76 for Republicans. Letterman had 139 jokes about Republicans and 102 about Democrats, the CMPA found.”

About damn time this joke of a POTUS became the butt of the jokes.

    Impressive!

President Obama’s policy reset with Russia is working out as well as his economic stimulus, Guantanamo closing, spending cutbacks, green energy investments, debt discipline, Benghazi investigation, Egyptian fallout, midterm campaigning, Syrian dictator-ousting, Bush-blaming, Libya-calming, Iran-isolating, job approval, budget-passing, Kim Jong-un-taming, ObamaCare implementation and Muslim-outreaching.

  4. Dr. Mark Christian from the Global Faith Institute sent The Gateway Pundit his account of the Benghazi attack on September 11, 2012:

Syrian president Bashar el Assad, Russia, Iran, and Hezbollah of Lebanon are fully responsible for the death of United States Ambassador Christopher Stevens. President Obama has known this fact since the minute he first learned about the attack.

Stevens, from his Benghazi base, was stockpiling weapons – and resourcing the expert fighters who could use them – to topple Assad’s rule in Syria. On September 11, 2012, Assad powerfully punched back, raiding the Benghazi compound which housed the armament for his own destruction. Though Assad’s reprisal resulted in the loss of four American lives, including Stevens, he forcefully conveyed that he would not be thrown out of the ring.

Under President Barack Obama’s direction in the 2011 Arab Spring, the Sunnis had already ousted evil dictators from countries such as Egypt, Tunisia, and Libya. It appeared to be pro-democracy freedom-fighting at its finest. It wasn’t. The overthrown governments were quickly replaced with Muslim-Brotherhood-aligned, Sunni Islamic theocracies. And the next country on the list for overthrow was Syria. But unlike the easier targets of Mubarek, Ben Ali, and Gaddafi, Shiite Syrian leader Bashar Assad has the powerful allies of Iran, Hezbollah, and Russia.

Stephens: The Al Qaeda Obama Forgot
The short distance between the president’s rhetoric on terror and its empirical disproof.
Updated 8/5/13. In May, Barack Obama told an audience at the National Defense University that the core of al Qaeda was “on the path to defeat.” The “future of terrorism,” Mr. Obama predicted, would involve “more localized threats,” on the order of “the types of attacks we faced before 9/11,” such as the 1988 Lockerbie bombing or the 1983 attack on the Marine barracks in Beirut. “Dealt with smartly and proportionately,” he added, “these threats need not rise to the level that we saw on the eve of 9/11.” He ended by calling for repeal of the 2001 Authorization to Use Military Force—Congress’s declaration of war on al Qaeda.
On Monday, the front page of The Wall Street Journal ran with this headline: “Regrouped al Qaeda Poses Global Threat.” The second shortest distance in Washington now runs between an Obama speech and its empirical disproof….

  6. Muslim Brotherhood Breaching The White House

The Muslim Brotherhood permeates the entire Obama Administration

    (SNIP)

This is where the impeachable offense comes in. The man and his minions solemnly swore to protect and defend the Constitution. He has been actively enabling the imposition of Sharia Law to replace the Constitution that bought our freedom. With Sharia must come conversion to Islam as the religion of the United States and the world. Some already have an idea who would be the coveted Supreme Caliph.

Accompanying him to impeachment should be every judge that has ruled for the imposition of Sharia on a local basis; for every public, military and diplomatic official who is actively forcing this other half of the culture of death on us. This should include any official who swore on an early version of the Constitution that preceded the Bill of Rights. They have spent American blood and treasure to remove “inconvenient” Muslim dictators who tolerated Christians and Jews while abandoning the people in the Middle East who looked to us to set them free.

A lump of fat the size of a double decker bus has been discovered clogging a London sewer.

The Fatberg, described as 15 tonnes of festering food mixed with wet wipes and a host of other disgusting ephemera, was found blocking pipes under Kingston in south London.

The revolting mass caused sewage flows through the pipes to be reduced to five per cent of normal capacity and was created by people pouring cooking oils down the drain and flushing sanitary products.

  8. Another notch in Obama’s power belt. His ability to prevail when anyone else who had demonstrated such incompetence and deception as POTUS would have been laughed out of office is directly related to his ability to control the narrative reported and repeated by media. Now, it appears, another outlet has become a member of the Obama News Coalition. Look for more great things from Obama, now that another of his fans has a venue from which to report fictionalized stories about the fictionalized greatness of Obamalam.

“OBAMA VISITED AMAXON 6 DAYS BEFORE FOUNDER BOUGHT WAPO”

‘While conservatives and liberals consider the political leanings of Washington Post buyer and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos in an attempt to divine how his politics will affect those of the historic institution, the truth appears to be far simpler: the Post is now Bezos’ latest political tool in a crony capitalist effort to work with the Obama administration. How else to explain President Obama puzzling decision last week to roll out his corporate tax plan at an Amazon.com fulfillment center?

The sale of the Post was supposed to be top-secret, with staffers asked not to tweet about it for ten minutes. But it’s more than possible that the Obama administration had some advance notice about the sale, and that Obama appeared at the Amazon warehouse as a sign of good faith to Bezos prior to the move. Bezos has not been averse to holding hands with President Obama, either; back in October 2009, Bezos had lunch with Obama, at precisely the time Amazon was pitching cloud-computing services to the feds. This year, Amazon received a lucrative 10-year, $600 million cloud contract with the CIA, despite its bid being higher than that of competitor IBM. Bezos also backed Obama’s plan for an internet sales tax. Federal help wouldn’t come at a bad time for Amazon, which has seen two straight rough quarters; Amazon reported a 37 percent drop in profits in the first quarter of 2013, following hard on a fourth quarter 2012 report showing a net income drop of 45 percent.’ (Full Story)

  9. Obama reportedly to meet with Muslim Brotherhood officials in the White House

Obama is like a dog with a bone. How high and how deep does the Muslim Brotherhood infiltration of the Obama adminsitration go? Millions of people of Egypt have forced the removal of the illegal and mercifully short reign of the Islamic supremacist Brotherhood regime.

And still, Obama insists upon imposing his pro-jihadist agenda on a foreign nation.

“Exclusive: Obama agrees to meeting with Brotherhood, sources say” Egypt Independent

    August, 6, 2013

U.S. President Barack Obama has agreed to meet with Muslim Brotherhood representatives at the White House, sources told Egypt Independent.

Obama would reportedly meet with Brotherhood officials to “hear their opinion” on developments in Egypt, in the presence of Turkish diplomats.

Egypt Independent heard from sources inside the Muslim Brotherhood that Islamist-linked billionaire Hassen Malek requested a meeting through Obama’s office manager.

The meeting with Turkish officials is expected to take place this month.

Turkish diplomats are expected to push for Mohamed Morsy’s reinstatement as Egyptian president, sources said, if not that the Muslim Brotherhood would be assured of political survival following a month-long violent stand-off with the armed forces in the wake of Morsy’s overthrow.

Over 300 people have been reported killed since army chief and Defense Minister Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced Morsy’s ouster on 3 July.

The U.S. has repeatedly supported the Muslim Brotherhood’s ascendancy in Egypt, researcher Mohamed Hasanein Heikahl said.

  10. femisex blog features a WSJ article about the fight against legislation that would protect personal information of users of Facebook and Google.

No wonder Obama has no time (nor inclination) to work on matters of government and resolving problems facing this country (many of which were created by him). He’s is too busy creating inroads, gathering information, and basically, strengthening his hold over the country. No time to be bothered with actually working for America. The progs won’t have to worry about whether the Republican Party implodes. They are busy developing the resources that will enable them to fool all of the people all of the time . Hell, they’re making the progressive faction of the Dem party practically invincible.

    Monday, August 5, 2013 at 11:39 pm — admin

“This will give you a chuckle. Before the Snowden story broke, outing Silicon Valley as complicit in the massive spying by Obama on Americans every communiqué, the WSJ published a story titled: “New online-data bill sets up privacy fight.” The story opens: “Silicon Valley is fighting privacy advocates over a California bill, the first of its kind in the nation, that would require companies like Facebook Inc. and Google Inc. to disclose to users the personal data they have collected and with whom they have shared it.”
Ah told ya you’d laugh. Cause the reason the evil that Google has become and Facebook always was were fighting so hard to keep their secrets is because they were giving all yours to the Feds, and most likely the local cops if they wanted it, and surely selling it to any buyer out there”

  11. Larry Johnson at No Quarter posted this story about Trump’s response to Rangle’s use of the racial slur “cracker”. The story from Mediaite has a video of Trump’s interview on FOX.

“Trump On Fox: If Charlie Rangel Can Say ‘Cracker,’ Then Paula Deen Should Be Able To Say The ‘N-Word”

    by Matt Wilstein | 12:54 pm, August 5th, 2013 VIDEO » 452 comments

“Donald Trump compared Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) to Paula Deen this morning. Rangel’s recent rant against tea party “crackers” was just one of the topics Trump tackled Monday morning on Fox & Friends, lamenting the fact that Rangel has mostly gotten away with his statements while Deen was “crucified” for hers.

Trump said he was “surprised” that a “nice guy” like Rangel would make comments like the ones he did in the first place, and noted, “If Charlie or whoever it was was a Republican and they made that statement, they’d be resigning from office right now.”
Host Steve Doocy was the first to push the “double standard” narrative about Rangel and Deen, but Trump was quick to agree. “Nothing will happen to Charlie,” Trump said. “I see it all the time. If you’re a Republican and you make a statement like that, it’s over. I mean, you are finished… It’s a very rough double standard.”

“Paul Deen was absolutely crucified, what they did with her,” Trump added. “I don’t know what even happened to her. I see everybody dropped her. She has really got some problems. It’s amazing.” When Tucker Carlson jumped in, demanding President Obama “take a stand” against Rangel, Trump said that was unlikely. “Obama is going to take a pass,” he said. “They’re all going to take a pass. And that’s the way the country is right now.”

  13. Setting Up The Vatican?

“The Pentagon announced US forces across the Middle East are on heightened alert tonight. And yet, FOX News has learned the 600 US Marine task force formed in the wake of the Benghazi attack returned to its base in Moron, Spain after weeks of being forward deployed in Sigonella, Italy, despite the new terror alert.”

    This doesn’t make much sense…

UNLESS IT’S A SET-UP AND THE VATICAN IS THE TARGET.

    http://ibloga.blogspot.com/2013/08/setting-up-vatican.html

  14. A Benghazi Bombshell:

Confidential sources close to Conservative Report have confirmed that Valerie Jarrett was the key decision-maker for the administration on the night of the Benghazi terrorist attack on 9/11/2012.

Jones’ story reports that relief was available not waiting in Europe for the call but on the tarmac of Tripoli:

Had the C-130 Spooky been on station, over the CIA Annex in Benghazi, moments before the mortar rounds were fired, the entire outcome of the Benghazi fiasco would have been different.

Add to that, a team of Green Berets on the ground to secure and/or evacuate the Annex, and the outcome would have been two SEALS still alive, and a mess of dead terrorists.

Now even though those assets were in Tripoli they are restricted in their use by “Cross Border Authority”

To initiate offensive military operations in a foreign country, law requires a Presidential order commonly referred to a Cross Border Authority or CBA. In the absence of cross border authority being granted directly by the President, no military operation could be initiated, including the commitment of troops to secure or rescue personnel from Special Mission Benghazi.

President Obama’s failure to issue Cross Border Authority allowing our men to die is bad but if it wasn’t him making the decision it’s worse

  15. Here, Victor Davis Hanson, a writer for pjmedia, advances a premise which runs contrary to the liveliest intellects of our time, who swear by all that is unholy, secular, and as phony as they are, that Obama is the second coming of . . . well, lets just say, a greater than Lincoln, and leave it at that. But what they really mean is, a greater than Lincoln, since he has made their privileged lives better at the expense of everyone else.

Victor has run the risk of an IRS audit and a midnight raid on his home by the FBI/ATF Obama goon squad, by suggesting that big media is slowly coming to the realization that Obama is a huckster, and they have been had. I think he is overly optimistic. Many of them are like Sullivan, and have as sexual thing for him. And those that pretend they don’t have an economic attachment to him, and therefore reject truth even when it kicks them in the teeth. “It is difficult to get a man to understand something , when his salary depends upon his not understanding it!”–Upton Sinclair.

I am not much of a T. S. Elliott fan, but I do remember the conclusion of one of his poems which says “this is the way the world will end, not with a bang but with a whimper”. Hanson’s comments are along that line. The problem with his argument is it does not take account of the question that should matter in all political calculations if there is to be any accountability in the system: “are you better off today than you were eight years ago?”
    ——————————–
    Obama Who?

Critics of the president are convinced that Barack Obama will do lasting damage to the U.S. I doubt it.

Obama came to power in the third year of large Democratic congressional majorities. In his first referendum, he lost the House and he may soon lose the Senate; in other words, there followed a somewhat normal reaction against a majority party. Obama’s popularity rating is well below 50%, despite an obsequious media and a brilliantly negative billion-dollar campaign that long ago turned Mitt Romney into a veritable elevator-using, equestrian-marrying, canine-hating monster.

In the second term, there is little of the Obama bully pulpit left. “Make no mistake about it” and “let me be perfectly clear” can incur caricature, not fainting. “Really,” “I’m not kidding,” “I’m serious,” “in point of fact,” and “I’m not making this up” often prove rhetorical hints that the opposite is true. When Obama warns about gridlock in Washington, the “same old tired politics,” the dangers of a tyrant or king in the White House, the need for an honest IRS, or the perils of government surveillance, these admonitions have tragically become a psychological tic to warn us about himself. Former jokes about siccing the IRS on his enemies or using Predator drones to go after suitors of his daughters are as eerie as they are comedic.

Each new “historic” speech is by now mostly history repeating itself as farce. The Victory Column oration gave way to a flat vignette at the Brandenburg Gate. The Cairo speech follow-ups were mostly confusion about Egypt and Syria, without the fictions of the West’s underappreciated debts to Islam. The second Trayvon Martin aside on racial look-alikes was even more disturbing that the first. I don’t think Obama’s advisors will allow him to proclaim any more “deadlines,” or “red lines,” or any sort of lines at all in the Middle East.

Aside from Obama himself, no one in the post-Benghazi, -AP, -NSA, and -IRS scandal era references the president any longer as the former “professor of constitutional law.” In Obama’s case even the inflated title has become an oxymoron.

Ever so slowly, the press, albeit still for the most part privately, is learning that it has been had by one of its own. The breach of journalistic ethics turned out not to be a necessary means to an exalted liberal end, but instead was interpreted cynically by Obama as exemption for doing pretty much what he pleased — like going after AP reporters for leaking national security in a way the administration could only envy, given its own less impressive efforts to divulge what should not have been divulged. How odd that a truly adversarial press is an aid to conservatives in power, in keeping them on their toes about scandal, and how ironic that liberal media obeisance green-lights wrongdoing among those whom they deify.

What does the Arab Spring conjure up? Or “lead from behind”? Or “reset”? (If only Obama could envision Putin as George Zimmerman, we might get real on Russia.) Or an “OK” from the Arab League to act? Or CIA gun-running in Libya? Or the military non-response to Benghazi? Or the incarceration of Mr. Nakoula, the supposedly evil filmmaker? Or “al-Qaeda on the run”? Or the successive flip-flops on Mubarak, Morsi, and the Egyptian military? Or serial “deadlines” to Iran, or consecutive “red lines” in Syria? (If only these threats abroad carried as much weight as Obama’s promises to “bankrupt” coal companies and send our power bills “skyrocketing.”) Or the “peace-process” with the Palestinians? Or closing down the embassies of the Middle East? (If only Islamists were Republicans, they might be on the receiving end of real presidential threats like “punish our enemies.”) What do all these misadventures abroad have in common? I think the answer is nothing and everything: no consistency other than confusion.

Good catch Leanora! This goes directly to the issue of Hillary’s culpability in the Benghazi fiasco. We also can’t forget that she WORKED FOR bumbles. Outside of just leaving her post/quitting her job, if she is told to do something, she is obliged to do it. She did mis-speak to the father of one of the fallen when she expressed regret based in a phony narrative. Not good. She probably dropped the ball on embassy security in a very hot zone. Also not good. But more and more it appears that Stevens and Co. didn’t have a chance as soon as Assad and al Qaeda made the decision to attack that compound. All that said, the true villain in this mess as it further unfolds is turning out to be John Boehner. How terribly terribly terribly sad for all Americans that the one place that the gears of justice might begin turning has rusted and is clogged by weakness and politics. That man has absolutely no excuse for not forming a special committee imbued with congressional authority to pursue this matter. There is a special place in hell for betrayers and mutineers, and he may at some point be a special guest there.

    Asshat.

In other lack of leadership news, China is about to open a can of whup-ass on us and the venue will be space. A friend of mine at NASA sent this to me.

    http://www.foreignpolicy.com/articles/2013/08/02/china_is_winning_the_space_race?wpisrc=obinsite

    From the article {EMPHASIS MINE}

And the Chinese space program enjoys some important advantages over its U.S. rival. As the recent surge in missions attests, the Chinese space program likely enjoys generous and stable government funding — though the exact amount is unknown. (Meanwhile, NASA’s budget as a percent of the federal budget has fallen from 4.41 percent in 1966 to 0.48 percent in 2012.) AND THE CHINESE SPACE PROGRAM HAS THE SUPPORT OF A UNIFIED CHINESE LEADERSHIP: China’s President Xi Jinping won’t be shutting down the Shenzhou missions to diminish the legacy of his predecessors, as President Richard Nixon did by ending manned lunar exploration.

The entire article paints a sad picture of how far we have fallen as space explorers, not to mention how corrupted our values have become. How much money has been spent on payoffs and pork projects earmarked by Congress instead of on scientific endeavors?

    Asshats.

  17. As more details of the Benghazi incidents are forthcoming, I think that statement by State Department, in responding to questions about the events that occurred in Benghazi, “We can’t speak for any other department…” (possibly, not exact quote – but close) becomes increasingly important and telling.

  18. That man has absolutely no excuse for not forming a special committee imbued with congressional authority to pursue this matter.
    —————–
He has what any politician would consider to be the best excuse of all—complicity. Unlike his Republican House colleagues, as Speaker, he was told about the CIA operations before hand and he signed off on it. Therefore, if he were to appoint a special committee, and it conducted a due diligence investigation, it would lead back to his doorstep. That is also the reason why there was no interest in getting the FBI in there to secure the crime scene, or to apprehend and interview the leader of that attack. Simply put, a through investigation into Benghazi would be politically embarrassing to the elites, and the chattering class has no interest in losing their meal ticket. The investigation is dead. And that is how it will be left, until someone corrupt historian like Michael Beschloss or plagiarist Doris Kearnes Goodwin invents a more convincing explanation for the attack than a video. And the sheeple don’t give a damned about it.

  20. http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2013/08/05/jimmy-carter-ghost-stalks-obama-white-house/

Vague terrorist threats shutting down nineteen of our embassies, Russian strongman Putin thumbing his nose at President Obama, Iran jerking our chain – the U.S. hasn’t looked this cowardly on the world stage since the Jimmy Carter administration.

President George W. Bush is widely scorned these days for attempting to export democracy to the peoples of other lands; Mr. Obama, like Carter before him, has sought kindness and justice from the likes of Hugo Chavez and Bashar-Al-Assad. Which is more naïve?

Naivete is costly. Both the Carter and Obama administrations have been distinguished by the rare murder of an ambassador. [snip]

In Egypt today, the United States is ignored by both Islamist supporters of now-deposed President Morsi and also by the military; we are blamed by both sides for the chaos in that country. That’s quite an accomplishment, given the enormous aid we have ladled out to Egypt for decades. Unimaginably, it is EU foreign policy chief Cathy Ashton who is attempting to mediate between the two factions.

The similarities between Obama and Carter are not confined to foreign fiascos.

I have to give credit. It wasn’t really my catch. 🙂 Rush was talking about it on his show today, so I looked up the story on Doug Ross.

Yup Admin, they are all IDIOTS AND ASSHOLES that lick and bow to anyone, or anything that gives them another buck or tosses them a compliment.

  23. Impressive!

President Obama’s policy reset with Russia is working out as well as…

Wasn’t that the red reset button that Hillary was given to pass on to a Russian foreign minister… where it said ‘overcharge’ instead of reset? 🙂

    Yup, here it is—

“…In its early days, the Obama administration was almost unbelievably arrogant. A prime example is the “reset button” which Hillary Clinton presented to Russia’s foreign minister, intending to assure the Russians that the stupid days of the Bush administration were over, to be followed by Obama’s “smart diplomacy.” As it turned out, the word “reset” was misspelled in Russian–the Russian word on the button means “overcharge”.

[snip]

If Hillary is the candidate, would you want to go up against her and debate her especially if you are Rubio, Paul, Christe or even Jeb Bush? Wouldn’t you suppose the Reps are not excited about their candidate going head to head with her?

Makes you wonder if this is a sneaky way for Reps to get out of a number of debates if she is the candidate????

The answer of course is that Barack Obama is not qualified to be president because he does not have a world view congruent with reality.
    ——————–
Admin: that is correct. His world view is obsolete. It is based on the reality of the colonial period which began five hundred years ago and ended with the break up of the great empires after world war II. He sees the world of today through the prism of his father, who was an African anti colonialist. Roger Simon discussed this in a recent article as pjmedia.

  27. So what accounts for Obama’s weird attraction for this “Muslim revivalism,” despite all its Medieval tenets and near-psychotic behaviors?

No, he is not a Muslim. I repeat NOT (just to be absolutely clear). Nor is the president a Christian, unless you count Reverend Wright as such, which is ridiculous (and we all know he’s under the bus anyway).

Obama is a postmodern agnostic par excellence. But like so many schooled in post-modernism and cultural relativism, he has an immediate and intense enmity for anything that smacks of imperialism — and an equally intense desire to be seen as supportive of (although certainly not to live like) the downtrodden of the Earth.

Which leads us back to Benghazi. You don’t have to be Muslim to love the Muslim Brotherhood or even, consciously or unconsciously, sympathize with the goals, if not the actions, of al-Qaeda. You just have to have been imbued with a blind hatred of imperialism. That’s all you need.

What this myopia leads to, however, is consorting with people with no values at all. You get in bed with the worst of the worst. They don’t care about their country. They don’t care about anybody. They don’t even care about Allah. It’s “Viva la muerte!” and bring me the virgins!

What the administration doesn’t want, of all things, is for these dots to be connected via Benghazi.

  28. Southern Born

Try looking at it this way:

    1. first, the threat Probiscus is making relates to the primary, not to the general election. Hillary will not be a candidate in the Republican Primary. There is precious little I am sure of at this point, but surely there is that.

    2. second, to your rhetorical question yesterday, if FOX ran a video praising one of the Republican candidates, would the dims be within their rights to refuse to participate. Assuming arguendo that the question relates to the general election, I think the answer would be no, absent a showing of blatant partisanship in a debate setting against the Democrat candidate. Whereas, with the tag team effort by Obama and Crowley in the debate with Romney, plus the showing of a video favorable to the Democrat candidate, puts their actions in a whole different light. Therefore, let me restate your hypothetical. If FOX did a video favorable to a Republican candidate, AND tag teamed with the Republican candidate in a debate setting the way Crowley did, then yes, the Democrat would be withing his rights to say I will not debate on FOX.

    3. third, the enemy of the American People–the greatest enemy is big media. That is the point everyone needs to understand. Because they are the ones who are destroying our system.

  31. I decided to watch Leno tonight to see what whoppers Obama was going to tell tonight.

Here is my fave so far. When discussing our relations w/ Russia, he mentioned that they still help us out terrorism-wise. For example, they were helpful AFTER the Boston bombing. Yep, AFTER. He didn’t own up to the fact that Russia warned us about those two vermin of humanity BEFORE the bombing.

Economy is the next topic. Will be back for that topic is sure to be another trip down the rabbit-hole.

  32. I told you the economy topic was going to be a whopper. He stated Washington should be thinking everyday about how to improve the economy. Now, how often has HE talked about the economy in the last 6 months?

And he still isn’t talking about the fact that the majority of jobs created are PART-TIME jobs. Boasting about the unemployment rate as usual.

  33. OK, now Obama is praising John McCain. This is really such a BS “interview”. Jay is just letting him spew whatever.

And Obama got in his “party of no” dig right after praising McCain, his personal party of one that can’t say no to him.

  34. I spoke with a friend of mine who is more familiar with the details of the WashPo buy-out. He is more sanguine about the buy-out and the new owner than I am. He does, agree with me however, that the union is toast. It is laughable to listen to Katherine Graham and her son Donald say this will not affect the union. They are focused solely on their own self interest, and even a fire sale price they are selling at is preferable to a sea of red ink as far as the eye can see, or desperate moves to diversify by purchasing a furnace company. Bill Jacobson did an article on this and he sees trouble ahead for the new owner. He is right. Because what the new owner wants to do is digitize the newspaper, and once that is done, you don not need all the paper boys, and infrastructure and physical plant they now have. I guarandamntee you this guy is going to break the union, only they don’t know it. The fact that he served notice of termination, rather than the customary renewal notice on the union tells you he is going head hunting ala Lorenzo. And the Grahams can stand back at a safe distance, count their money, and say oh dear oh dear as their former enterprise deconstructs and careers of their former employees go up in smoke. Typical limousine liberals that they are. But the new owner is the one who concerns me most. Someone asked why didn’t he start up his own newspaper, rather than buying this schlockhouse. The answer is two fold: first, the wants the name and the good will that goes with it. I doubt seriously that he want that laughing hyena Eugene Robinson, or little lord fauntleroy EJ Dionne, and I suspect he would just as soon pass on little Ezra–send him back to the farm team where he belongs. But he wants the name, and the LEVERAGE over the political establishment that goes with it. That I am quite sure is the game, the only game, this mega businessman is interested in. Even though his transition team will tell everyone that he bought the newspaper for its people and their best days are ahead, which is one big fat lie. Watch.

  35. “And he still isn’t talking about the fact that the majority of jobs created are PART-TIME jobs. Boasting about the unemployment rate as usual”.

VH, you are absolutely right. No one mentions that fact – at least not emphatically enoug for anyone to notice. This jobs report is down-right fabrication. The Republicans should be calling POTUS out on this at every opportunity. Hell, the Dems should too. I don’t care that it makes their party and it’s leader look bad. They represent the people of their states and districts, and their constituents deserve to know the truth about this issue.

It’s way past time to be protecting either party. People need to call BS when they see BS. Instead, media on both the left and right, are in pre-Barack mode of railing against the party they oppose. Limbaugh for example, sometimes makes a point or two that is reasonable. But, he cannot finish a sentence without saying the word “liberal” or “Hillary” in the most demeaning and derogatory tone. He can’t just say what was done, and not relate it to the party or political ideology. When he does so, it weakens his point, and gives the appearance of just political posturing.

Pundits on the left do the same – except they are condescending and so self-righteous in describing the conservatives, and reporting on their latest “crazy” “ignorant” actions. Again, even when cogent points are made, they are weakened by the appearance of extreme bias and exaggeration.

I so wish that the talking heads on both the left and right would realize that there is no time left for this ridiculous partisan dallying – not with Barack in control. How great would it be to hear a Dem on CNN speaking what he/she knows to be true about Barack – that he has screwed things up nearly to the point of no return. And when a Dem does something undeniably positive, I wish Rush, Hannity, and their ilk could acknowledge it and applaud it.

I know that’s simple and elementary thinking, and not at all the way in which our system works. But, if we don’t try to get a grip on this hyper-partisanship, especially in media, we will be all caught up in that game when Barack changes all the rules and announces he’ll run for a third term. At this point, I don’t have any faith that there’s a soul on either side of the political divide who would stop him.

The pundits and pols know they’re deliberately exaggerating some points, while ignoring others – in order to support their party of choice. Meanwhile, as they play their games, the shit is hitting the fan in every area of American life. They strain gnats and swallow camels.

  36. BTW – I should have made it clear that I don’t actually believe that Barack will run for a 3rd term (altho, really – how far-fetched would that be in view of the way he has done everything else). I was using it as a metaphor to emphasize what we all already know – that Barack has gotten what Barack has wanted, without regard to law, tradition, constitutional prohibition or guarantee, or just plain common decency. And, yet, those in charge of our government, and those who broadcast their opinions about the actions of government and its leaders, are not reporting unbiased, actual, pertinent facts. Instead, they involve themselves with spinning, doctoring facts, and all manner of partisan endeavors while Rome is smouldering and beginning to flame.

  37. House of Representatives no longer observes monthly moment of silence for troops 🙁

Frustrated that the traditional practice no longer exists, a Republican congressman has introduced legislation that would require Speaker of the House John Boehner to personally lead a moment of silence for the country’s fallen troops on the house floor every month.

In a Tuesday interview with The Daily Caller, North Carolina Rep. Walter Jones said it “really quite frustrates me” that such an observance hasn’t happened on the House floor since February.

Jones speculated that the monthly custom which was originally his idea has stopped because of “the indifference of Congress, quite frankly, when it comes to war.”

Weiner Calls Mayoral Rival “Grandpa” At AARP Forum

Anthony Weiner could not have chosen a more fitting venue in which to insult fellow mayoral candidate George McDonald about his advanced age: an AARP town hall meeting held this morning at Hunter College. Sweet, sweet irony. In what must surely qualify as one of the most awkwardly phrased lead-ins of all time, NY1’s Grace Rauh explains the situation:

“McDonald approached Weiner and told him to keep his hands off him. Weiner then said McDonald had anger management issues, and he called him ‘grandpa.” (Just watch itit’s awkwarder out loud.)

McDonald, who is 69, is seen getting all up in Weiner’s face before the forum even began. Mics picked up the sound of Weiner accusing McDonald of being angry. “I don’t have any anger,” says a clearly angry McDonald. “Yes you do, grandpa!” Weiner chirps, smiling impishly as McDonald storms away. “They’re going to love that!” the elder candidate shrieks as he exists stage right.

McDonald once again wrongly assumed that his lack of widely distributed dick pics would win him automatic respect from the crowd, but, just as last week when McDonald tried to curry favor by calling Weiner a “ self-pleasuring freak”, he was booed repeatedly for dragging the former congressman’s misdeeds once again into the spotlight. “Look, this is a forum, I have a right to express my opinion,” McDonald said, elevating the ruckus to such volumes that he eventually sighed, exasperated. “OK. You don’t want to allow me to talk? That’s just more time for this glib narcissist.”

According to NY1, so incensed by Weiner’s behavior is McDonald that he even engaged in a noisy dispute once the forum was over, prompting nearby police officers to come over and “calm everybody down.”

Is this Weiner’s attempt to distract would-be voters from his Real Scandal by instigating mini-scandals? Or is just another example of a Weiner unhinged? We’ll all have to stay tuned.

That revelation, with just a week left in Mr. Booker’s campaign for the Democratic nomination for the United States Senate, shows how a few tech moguls and entrepreneurs, many of them also campaign donors, not only made a financial bet on the mayor’s political future but also provided the brainpower and financing to help create a company that could make him very rich.
Waywire has also provided jobs for associates of Mr. Booker:…”

And big business wants politicians who will steal from the middle class and give to the upper class. RINOS are the tool they need to do that. Any member of the middle class should have their head examined if they vote for a RINO, because the RINO will stab them in the back every time. We should not be surprised when it happens. It cannot be otherwise. If you believe in this country, you must reject the RINO, and those bloggers like Rick Moran at pjmedia who routinely runs interference for them, and attacks the grass roots.

    Erickson at Red State:
    ———————————-

Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli is running for Governor of Virginia. He is not just opposed by the Democrats, but by big business Republicans who want a Governor who will give them the taxpayers’ money for their purposes. Ken has been very clear — he will not use government to pick winners and losers in business. Big business hates that.

  41. Report from Yahoo: Obamalam cancels plans to visit Putin next month. He’s pissed over the Snowden thing. Although the article didn’t mention this, I would imagine that Putin’s response to this news could best be expressed in the title of an old country song, “Here’s a quarter, call someone who cares.”
    ———————
Tell Vlad that I will have more flexibility after the election.

    Again, he lied.

I should not be so dismissive.

Cancelling a meeting is like Kennedy during the Bay of Pigs crisis.

But big media is super impressed.

They are so partisan now, maybe they should be bloggers.

Perhaps some nitwit like Josh Marshall will hire them to feed the chimps (sp. chumps).

  42. Is it just my impression, or is everyone today living in a time warp. With Nelson Mandella, it is all over but the shouting. Of course there will be plenty of that when he slips the moral coil. However, the corrupt civil rights establishment in this country–this racist Ben Jealous of the NAACP and their big media accomplices–assholes like Brokaw who will jump in and tried to lend his phony gravitas to the situation, while he is not sitting on the Soros board of directors, inevitable comparisons to Martin Luther King, enough already. And, of course, it is the kind of thing Obama will jump in the middle of because of his hatred of colonialism. In sum, these assholes will use the occasion of Nelson’s death to proclaim their own supposed virtues. And Bishop Tutu will be back in the spotlight. I almost wish Nelson would not die, but would simply go to Hawaii.

  43. I don’t think Putin gives a crap what happens with Obama, no one gives a screw what Obama does or says and they dont seem to take him seriously whatsoever. Its like when people mention his name, its like “meh” and when he calls, i imagine people say sorry but “I’m washing my hair”.

  44. Made-up Threat Rehabilitates the Big Brother

The U.S. State Department issued a global alert about the terrorist threat allegedly posed by Al-Qaeda in Yemen. The USA announced the closure of its missions in the Middle East and Africa, and their example was followed by France, Britain, and Germany. However, this was only an attempt to justify the activities of the National Security Agency.

Last Saturday, right after alerting of the terror threat civilians and BOLO complex (“be on the lookout”) that includes law enforcement and federal officials, President Barack Obama went to play golf, and then celebrated his birthday at the presidential retreat at Camp David. Is it too frivolous behavior when it comes to a possible al-Qaeda attack similar to the one on September 11th either within the continental United States or any U.S. embassies overseas?

  45. This nails the problem with big media, better than anything else I have seen:

    http://video.foxnews.com/v/2589858375001/fear-and-loathing-at-the-newsstand/

The Washington Post was a newspaper written by secular progressives, edited by secular progressives and for secular progressives, not the public at large. The public at large is fed up with their condescension toward the country, and their selective editing of the news. The new owner is a secular progressive as well, and he is taking on the union. He has money to burn, so for him it is worth it. He may not win the audience to make it a profitable enterprise, but it will give him singular access and influence to the Washington power structure, and that is the real problem here.

  46. As someone here in a previous post so aptly put it, the old civil rights players and their hangers-on are fighting to regain relevance. While they were busy schmoozing the elite class, and garnering every bit of air time they could grab, unbeknownst to them, the world changed. Their ship has sailed, and they lack the imagination, understanding, and ability to recapture relevance by appropriately responding to the real needs and issues of the day.

So let Jackson bore the hell out of everyone with his silly rhymes, while Sharpton’s eyes dart about for a TV camera or a mic he can grab, Obama grieves his couldabeen son, and Brokaw waxes nostalgic and indignant at once, as he recalls covering Dr. King and the marches at Selma and Montgomery. Like hell fire and brimstone preachers at a tent revival, they will stir the emotions of those who most enjoy having their emotions stirred. The thing most obviously missing will be the quality that Mandella and Martin Luther King possessed aplenty – substance. Of course they had flaws. No one should have to claim perfection. In fact, only a fool does so. But, Mandella and King were relevant to their times. They fought the good fight, and they are to be greatly admired, IMO.

But the ones who will so frequently call upon the names of Mandella and King, as their faces and speeches dull the airwaves, will be the irrelevant pot-stirrers and race baiters. It will be the Obamas, Holders, Sharptoms, Jacksons, and all of the white hangers-on, who have absolutely no idea whereof they speak, whose actions and statements, lacking both relevance and substance, will most dishonor the man they purport to honor and revere.

    Brilliant post.

I was re re re watching one of my favorite movies, The Counterfeit Traitor, starring William Holden and Lilly Palmer. It is the story of a Swedish-American Oil Man who is put on the Enemies List of trading with the Axis Powers in World War II, and in order to get off that list, he is forced to become a spy for the allies, which draws him into a world of danger and intrigue. But one of the morality points which I picked up on only last night was that at one point in the movie, he notes that the children were being moved out of the city of Hamburg and harms way as allied bombing intensified. The same thing happened in London when the V-2 rocket attacks commenced, and songs were written about this from the child’s standpoint, but I cannot quite recall the artist. The point is simply this: those societies had enough social conscience to protect their children from clear and present danger.

Flash forward to today, and what do you find? You find black children in harms way. And neither Sharpton, Jackson, or Tom Brokaw really give a shit about them. All they care about is themselves. And to maintain power they keep repeating the antiquated accounts of fifty years ago, which do not answer the problems facing their own community today. They may wear the title Reverend, just as the wealthy Jerimiah Wright does, but deep down inside, they are dead souls. When they pray, they pray to the God Mammon, just as all secular progressives do. No higher authority than their ego. Needless to say, the man in the white house is the worst example of this pathology.

Shadow, this charlatan could not stand on principle if it bit him in the ass. Trust me, he had other reasons to cancel this trip to see Putin. Very likely, a fundraiser. Whenever there is a fundraiser, he shirks the responsibilities of governing. And when there is no fundraiser, he finds some excuse to vote present.

I do not wish to be dismissive of the possibility that Valerie Jarhead was responsible for the decision not to save our people in Benghazi. It is not unlikely. In fact, it is rather likely. And it is consistent with the reports on Ulsterman and elsewhere indicating that Jarhead did not want to go after Bin Laden, because if the mission failed, it could imperil Obama’s election prospects.

If it is true that Jarhead prevented a rescue of our troops, while Obama was busy doing what he always does in situations where a critical decision needs to be made, i.e. hiding, then at a minimum, she should lose her secret service protection and be tried as a war criminal. All we need is real evidence.

We are not big media. We do not lie. And we are not in the business of trying to back fill into a pre existing narrative through manufactured evidence, censorship and selective reporting. We do not attempt to substitute our judgment for the judgment of those we speak to. We live by those rules, and big media is dying by them. The longer it takes to die, the worse for the country.

A cursory examination of the manufactured evidence by NBC (they are old hands at this, i.e. the exploding truck in the Zimmerman case, or the quantum leap of the ace investigative reporter Brian Ross of ABC to cast false blame for a genocidal act on the tea parties, is all you need to understand how they operate. A more detailed examination would reveal an even deeper level of their treachery, and outright lies to the American People—which have polarized the nation, saddled us with false leaders, and doomed our future.

  51. Obama and indeed, all of media, both right and left leaning, represent the opposite of freedom of speech. They hurl accusations and insults at any individual or group with a point of view different from their own. And, they work to dilute any message or premise that fails to suit their canned narrative. They would do very well to remember the quote from Voltaire:

“I do not agree with what you have to say, but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it”.

    — Egyptian Cabinet (@Cabinet_eg) August 6, 2013 (snip)
    ——————————-
The comment was deleted. But the new head of government criticized McCain.

Some comments by readers tell the rest of the story:

    In re persona non grata:

first commenter: I thought they were talking about his status in the USA.

    reply: Most definitely in Arizona…!!!!!

reply: Our state has got to get a good candidate to make sure McNut doesn’t even think of running again.

Actually, Obama has embraced the timeless words of Voltaire, with one slight modification and a delivered them through a teleprompter with style all his own:

“I hate what you say, and I will put you to death for saying it”.

Hearing those words, big half of big media fainted, and the other half experienced an erection for the 1st time in years. When they recovered their composure, they proclaimed in unison that this his greatest moment. They sent urgent letters all twisted in twine saying bliss is in this dawn to be alive, and to be here in your divine presence. And then they sent urgent requests to Bartletts to preserve his divine words as the mantra for all secular progressives.

As Mark Levin says, Boehner ‘doesn’t give a damn’, and clearly has NO interest in getting to the bottom of what happened at Benghazi- his behavior over the last few months has made that readily apparent.
Levin purports that Agent Orange must have ‘made a deal’ with the White House- why else would obstruct an investigation that’s actually traditional in such situations?

The president sure isn’t answering any questions- neither is his spokesman Jay Carney, who brushes-off any serious ones as preposterous nonsense, not worthy of his time. Alas, shameless liar Hillary Clinton got the kid-glove treatment from Boehner and his ilk, too- nobody involved in Benghazi has been forced testify truthfully -under oath- while residual witnesses are hidden like they’re Sammy the Bull.

There’s no logical, principled legal argument for not looking into Benghazigate, Mr Speaker- and owing to the lack credible explanation for your (non) actions, all we’re left with is the conclusion that you’ve made some ill advised deal with the devil– and may now have hell-to-pay.

  58. Laughable:

    http://www.politico.com/story/2013/08/chuck-schumer-immigration-95293.html

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) made his clearest indication yet that he would be fine with a piecemeal approach to immigration reform preferred by the Republican-led House.

Schumer, the leader of the Gang of Eight whose comprehensive immigration reform legislation passed the Senate in June, said even if the House passes separate bills, those measures could eventually be bundled in a House-Senate conference committee.

“We would much prefer a big comprehensive bill, but any way that the House can get there is OK by us,” Schumer told CNN Wednesday. “I actually am optimistic that we will get this done.”

A bottom line, however, is “some kind” of a pathway to citizenship, Schumer said — the most controversial provision of immigration reform among House Republicans. And there’s not yet a standalone pathway bill that’s been released by House Republicans.

Democrats and immigration advocates have been outspoken against the piecemeal approach, arguing that components of the immigration system are so intertwined that reform must be taken up comprehensively. But House Republicans generally dislike comprehensive bills.

Schumer also noted on CNN that a few of the House bills — such as one on agriculture workers and another on high-skilled immigrants — are “very similar” to components in the Gang of Eight bill.

  59. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/aug/7/mayor-michael-bloomberg-nyc-may-be-next-detroit/?utm_source=feedly

Mayor Michael Bloomberg: NYC may be the next Detroit

New York City is headed toward the same bankrupt fate as Detroit, unless the incoming mayor tends to municipal union issues and curbs soaring pension costs right away, Mayor Michael Bloomberg warned on Tuesday.

“Avoiding the hard choices is how Detroit went bankrupt,” he said, in a speech before a Brooklyn crowd, The New York Post reported.

Mr. Bloomberg only has five months left to serve. And in between issuing nanny-type governance creeds — attempting to ban supersize sodas, denouncing cigarettes, trans-fats and Styrofoam containers — he’s advising his followers to take heed from a city that’s been there, done that in terms of financial disaster.

Chicago, he reminded, just sent pink slips to 2,100 teachers and school workers to help defray the costs of pensions.

“Chicago is far from alone,” he said, The Post reported. “Cities across the country all face the prospect of pension costs swallowing more and more of their budget, and New York is no exception. Anyone who thinks it can’t happen here needs only to look at the late 1970s when the city laid off more than 10,000 teachers and thousands of police officers, firefighters, sanitation workers, hospital workers and other city employees.”

Mr. Bloomberg also reminded, The Post reported: “About 95 percent of [city] employees and retirees contribute nothing — not even a dollar — to their basic health care premiums.” By comparison, he said, state government workers have only 90 percent of their health care plans paid by taxpayers.

The white-thatched Rouse, 67, occupies a unique niche in Obama’s tight-knit world. He’s a reassuring problem solver, one of Obama’s few congressional fixers and, in his role as counselor, serves as a both mentor and sounding board to a president who keeps his circle small and confidences close.

  61. Scary But Hill still beats her. 🙂

But, a new Quinnipiac poll proves why Warren would be formidable in 2016 if she decided to run. Using a feeling thermometer — 0 meaning you feel totally cold about a politician, 100 meaning you feel warmly (aka) strong favorably toward a pol — Quinnipiac tested the majority of major national figures.

Warren finished third — behind only New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (53.1 degrees) and Hillary Clinton (52.1 degrees). She finished ahead of, among others, President Obama, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Vice President Joe Biden.

Here’s why the thermometer matters — and matters for Warren in particular. It’s a measure of passion, which is, of course, the sine qua non of politics. While passion isn’t everything — fundraising matters, organization matters — it’s hard to get elected to anything without passionate supporters.

    http://finance.fortune.cnn.com/2013/08/07/cnn-boss-cory-booker/

New Jersey senatorial candidate Cory Booker was “not involved at all” in the addition of Andrew Zucker to the advisory board of a tech startup that Booker co-founded, according to a company spokesperson. And now it may not much matter, as the 15 year-old has resigned from the board — effective as of earlier this afternoon.

Zucker is the son of CNN president Jeff Zucker, and his arrangement with Booker’s venture was viewed in some quarters as being inappropriate.

The company is Waywire, a digital video curation site that has raised venture capital funding from such folks as Oprah Winfrey and Google (GOOG) chairman Eric Schmidt. Booker is one of three co-founders, alongside veteran marketing executive Sarah Ross (ex-Yahoo, TechCrunch, etc.) and former Gilt Groupe executive Nathan Richardson (who serves as Waywire’s CEO).

Andrew Zucker’s involvement seems to have first stemmed from a conversation that Sarah Ross had with an existing Waywire advisor, who had heard that the kid had a knack for spotting tech adoption trends among teens. For example, Andrew and a small group of his friends were known to informally advise his father on such matters, such as why some young people would be interested in the Vine video service but not in Twitter’s traditional text service.

Ross met with both Andrew Zucker and Jeff Zucker, and reached an agreement whereby Andrew would join the Waywire advisory board in exchange for what the spokesperson refers to as a “de minimus” number of stock options (at least in comparison to other Waywire option grants).

It is unclear what led to this afternoon’s resignation, which was disclosed to Fortune by a CNN spokesperson.

  66. Obama Admin to Host Summit Encouraging Foreign Investments In America

WASHINGTON, D.C. In an unprecedented move, President Obama’s Department of Commerce announced its plans to host a taxpayer funded summit aimed at encouraging foreign investors and international corporations to make “direct investments in the United States.”

The announcement pertaining to what federal officials are referring to as SelectUSA 2013 Investment Summit, came earlier today and is being billed as an opportunity to introduce additional capital into the country from foreign investors.

“As President Obama said in Chattanooga, he is directing his administration to take a coordinated effort to attract foreign investment creating jobs here in the United States. The Summit will bring business leaders from around the world and connect them with state and local leaders to encourage investments, economic growth and job creation,” stated Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker.

Not everyone, however, is thrilled with the October 31-November 1, 2013, event, slated to be held in Washington, D.C.

Critics say while the outcome of the summit may very well end with additional jobs for Americans, the true beneficiaries of their labor will be foreign nations – thus over a matter of time – America’s wealth will be bled from the country, as all corporate profits will be transferred to foreign nations.

“What the President is attempting to do here is basically scream out to the top of his lungs, ‘We no longer want our citizens to work for American companies, we want them to work for foreign ones. Keeping the wealth at home no longer matters to us,” noted political observer James Thomas.

Adding, “This is an all new low, even for this President. To go from telling American small business owners that they didn’t build their business and opposing them on every front, to telling large foreign corporations that America wants them signing the front of our checks each week.”

“ObamaCare ‘death panel’ faces growing opposition from Dems”
By Elise Viebeck – 08/08/13 05:00 AM ET

“ObamaCare’s cost-cutting board — memorably called a “death panel” by Sarah Palin — is facing growing opposition from Democrats who say it will harm people on Medicare.
Former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean drew attention to the board designed to limit Medicare cost growth when he called for its repeal in an op-ed late last month.

Dean was quickly criticized by supporters of the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB), who noted his ties to the healthcare industry as an adviser to a major D.C. lobbying firm.
But the former Vermont governor is not the only Democrat looking to kill the panel.
A wave of vulnerable Democrats over the past three months has signed on to bills repealing the board’s powers, including Sen. Mark Pryor (Ark.) and Reps. Ron Barber (Ariz.), Ann Kirkpatrick (Ariz.), Kyrsten Sinema (Ariz.) and Elizabeth Esty (Conn.).”

It may have been coincidence that the Kremlin released details of the telegram a day after Barack Obama pulled out of a planned summit with Putin, but little is left to chance in Russian politics.

An Illinois university is standing behind an award-winning psychology professor, despite the new revelation he gunned down his parents and sister when he was a teenager, spent time in a mental institution and changed his name.

Dr. James St. James, chair of Millikin University’s Department of Behavioral Sciences, joined the school in 1986, some two decades after he confessed to killing his mother, father and older sister with a .22 long-barrel rifle in Texas in 1967. A jury found the then-16-year-old — born James Gordon Wolcott — not guilty by reason of insanity and he was released six years later after being treated for paranoid schizophrenia. Two years later, in an attempt to restart his life, Wolcott changed his name to James David St. James.

James’ violent past was unknown to university officials until an expose by a Texas newspaper — the Georgetown Advocate — that revealed his troubled history in a series of reports last month. And despite calls by Decatur Mayor Mike McElroy and U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Ill., for James to either step down or be placed on administrative leave, university officials are backing the man who won its Teaching Excellence and Leadership Award in 1997.

“Millikin University has only recently been made aware of Dr. James St. James’ past,” the statement reads. “Given the traumatic experiences of his childhood, Dr. St. James’ efforts to build his life and obtain a successful professional career have been remarkable. The university expects Dr. St. James to teach at Millikin this fall.”

    …………………

Everyone has a chance at a new start if they have been mentally ill but seriously, this is not the sort of ideal person you can just let loose on a campus. Paranoid schizophrenia, just does not get cured, its always there somewhere.

  76. Obama administration task force wants to make unauthorized streaming a felony

The U.S. Department of Commerce wants to crack down on the unauthorized streaming of video and audio content by reviving a provision of the Stop Online Piracy Act.

In a report released last week, the Commerce Department’s Internet Policy Task Force called for the unauthorized streaming of copyrighted works to become a felony.

“This recommendation was disappointing,” Corynne McSherry, the Intellectual Property Director at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, told Raw Story via email. “Legacy content industries need to learn, at last, that they don’t need new enforcement tools, they need competitive business models. As we learned at last week’s Judiciary Committee hearing, creative people are succeeding in the digital economy despite, not because of, copyright restrictions. New copyright penalties won’t lead to more compensation for anyone but lawyers.”

  77. Waco, Texas police plan to search apartments to ‘prevent crime’, and invade the very most personal space of these citizens. They will look for whatever criminal activity, perhaps some cannabis, and apparently look at doors, fire alarms, and other ‘safety’ features, used as an excuse to barge in.
The rights guaranteed by the constitution are being trampled on more, while the public will not stand up yet and demand their rights be returned.

At the Sanger Oaks apartments and other apartment communities in Waco Texas, police officers are participating in a nazi-like ‘Crime Free Housing’ program, where they search apartments, check safety features to make their presence seem necessary, and trample people’s rights while carefully making it seem as if they are doing someone a service. It seems clear that everywhere in the US, the police, agencies of government, DHS, DOJ, DOD, CIA, all of those unnecessary gangs, will expand their powers more and more.

Not much is known about this program, no one else is reporting on this. Some Police departments such as the NYPD, or Texas police, seem to be a bit worse than other police in America. Texas police often make their militarized presence more known, showing up in helicopters to high schools for ‘drills’, basically doing more and more to make their intrusions a common and acceptable thing. I am mentioning this specifically so this does NOT become an ordinary thing, as it violates the Fourth Amendment. It is detrimentally abusive to the peace and privacy of all of us.

  78. The top cardiologist in Seattle, is telling patients with heart conditions to get the testing they need done now, because once Obamacare takes effect, the government will no longer pay for those tests. If you have a lot of money, this is really no problem, because you can afford to have them. If not, then it is a potential death sentence. Come to think of it that grinning Obama does sort of look like a grinning death skull. The complexities of the new law, and the lives it will cost are all hypothetical at this point, but the rationing of medical services is a certainty. This is why it is so significant that Congress has taken the extraordinary step of exempting itself from the provisions of a law they imposed on the rest of us. In a just universe such rationing would apply only to the people who voted for Obama– and Congress.

  79. ObamaCare ‘death panel’ faces growing opposition from Dems”
    ———————-
    Oh, give me a break . . . .

The dims are all in favor of death panels.

They were when they passed this legislation.

And they have even more reason to be in favor of them now.

First, most of their opposition is over 60.

So the faster they die out, the sooner they can replace them with illegals.

Good for Schumer, good for the party, but bad for the country.

But Schumer has no use for the country. It is party uber alles.

Second, Congress, and Schumer have exempted themselves from Obamacare’s provisions.

I do not think they simply don’t like the death panels.

I say the dimocrats LOVE the death panels.

End of the wonderful one horse shay.

Logic is logic, that’s all I say.

  81. “Democrats Against Death Panels”

is as logical to me as

    “Springtime for Hitler”

Winter for Poland and France, etc.

Turn it into a Broadway farce.

Hire Mel Brooks and Zero Mostel.

This production has got lot$$$ of potential.

Eric Schmidt of Google could be the producer.

  82. Obama gives Big Dog Presidential Medal of Freedom…….

On the fiftieth anniversary of the U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom, President Barack Obama will award the honor to a group that includes former President Bill Clinton and Oprah Winfrey, the billionaire media mogul.

First established by President John F. Kennedy, the medals are the highest award given by the government to civilians. Clinton and Oprah are among the sixteen recipients of this year’s awards that were announced by the White House on Thursday.

“The Presidential Medal of Freedom goes to men and women who have dedicated their own lives to enriching ours,” Obama wrote in a statement along with the list of award recipients. “This year’s honorees have been blessed with extraordinary talent, but what sets them apart is their gift for sharing that talent with the world. It will be my honor to present them with a token of our nation’s gratitude.”

Others on the roster include two former lawmakers – former Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana, who was defeated by a Republican challenger in a primary contest in 2012, and the late Sen. Daniel Inouye of Hawaii, a Democrat who died late last year.

Aside from Winfrey, the media world is also represented on the list of honorees by Ben Bradlee, the Washington Post editor who oversaw the paper’s coverage of the Watergate scandal.

Representing American scientific achievement will be Sally Ride, the first American female astronaut to travel to space, who will be honored posthumously, and Mario Molina, a chemist who discovered how certain pollutants deplete the ozone layer.

Gloria Steinem , the women’s rights activist and writer, will also be honored, as will civil rights leaders
Cordy Tindell “C.T.” Vivian, who participated in freedom rides and sit-ins, and Bayard Rustin, a gay black man who fought for civil rights alongside Martin Luther King Jr.

“Coal Miner’s Daughter” singer Loretta Lynn will receive the medal, as will jazz legend Arturo Sandoval.

In sports, awards will go to Ernie Banks, a baseball hall of famer who played 19 seasons for the Chicago Cubs, and Dean Smith, the longtime head coach of the University of North Carolina basketball team.

Nobel prize-winning economist Daniel Kahneman and appellate judge Patricia Wald will also receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

  83. Grand jury refuses to indict NYPD cop who fatally shot Ramarley Graham
By LARRY CELONA Last Updated: 4:48 AM, August 8, 2013

A Bronx grand jury yesterday refused to indict an NYPD cop who fatally shot a teenager in his Wakefield home, law enforcement sources said. Officer Richard Haste and other undercover cops chased Ramarley Graham, 18, into his home in February 2012. The teen was flushing marijuana down the drain when Haste, believing he was carrying a gun, shot him….

Ramarley’s mom was just shown on WPIX @ 5. She has a question: Why did Trayvon’s story catch on nationally while her son’s did not.

Gonna be interesting to see how this plays out.
