Race-Baiting For Political Profit – Barack Obama: If I Had A Father He Would Look Like Trayvon Martin

Update: How did Barack Obama follow-up on his lascivious race-baiting remarks on Friday? Saturday golfing of course – golf trip #132 for the comfy shoe guy. No serious work for Barack – it’s the weekend. There is no serious discussion coming from Obama of “stand your ground” laws like the ones others have published and we published in our article below. For Obama the grounds for standing your ground is the grounds of the golf course.

And by the way are we the only ones who have noticed the connection between the Boston Bombing Killer Tsarnaev and Trayvon Martin? Tsarnaev got his puss glamorized on the cover of the Rolling Stone magazine. Trayvon got himself youth-enized by Big Media as picture after picture deceived the public into thinking Trayvon was a sweet looking 12 year old kid instead of the thug he developed into.

—————————————————————–

In 2008 race-baiter Barack Obama was the son of race-baiter Jeremiah Wright. When Wright became an electoral burden, exposed as a race-baiter and anti-American swine, his acolyte of more than 20 years cut Wright off like a gangrenous arm.

We Hillary supporters along with Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton were smeared as “racists” in order to help Obama win South Carolina and the black vote generally. Race-baiting was not enough so Rachel Jeantel style homophobia was also brought into the political arsenal.

Now Barack Obama is claiming that he is Trayvon Martin 35 years ago. The time trippin’ is to win politically and overturn his sinking fortunes. Once again Barack Obama is racebaiting for profit. ObamaCare, unions claim, is ObamaDon’tCare. Detroit is sinking into an Obamaville and ObamaDon’tCare. Russia, China, and the rest of the world hold America in contempt and ObamaDon’tCare. But Barack Obama realizes that race-baiting has helped him before and it will help him again.

In Florida, Barack Obama sees the chance to distract from the disaster that is ObamaCare and to win by race-baiting. Race-baiting it is HOPEd will get rid of Republican governor Rick Scott:

“African-American leaders outraged by the not-guilty verdict in the death of teenager Trayvon Martin are assailing Scott for supporting the “Stand Your Ground” law that arguably helped Martin’s killer, George Zimmerman, go free. Students protesters are camping out in the governor’s office, musician Stevie Wonder has announced a boycott and Attorney General Eric Holder denounced the law at the NAACP convention in Orlando earlier this week.

If black voters turn out in force against Scott in 2014, they could swing a race as close as his last, which he won by only 61,550 votes.”

Overall Florida voters support “stand your ground” by 57 percent (according to a Quinnipiac poll). White voters support the law by 62 percent. Black voters oppose the law by 61 percent. Rep. Dennis Baxley cuts right through the bullsh*t when he says about Obama Dimocrats “People are looking to 2014 and need a banner to run on, and this could be it. They’re not going to have Barack Obama on the ballot to excite the people with his charisma, so they’re going to fan the flames and make this an issue that is going to be motivational for turnout.”

Barack Obama and his army of race-baiters are telling little black boys and little black girls they are losers and the evil whites are out to kill them. For Michael Eric Dyson: U.S. Legal System Rigged to Protect White Privilege – the race-baiting never ends. Desperate for attention Jesse Jackson calls Florida an Apartheid state and denounces America to the United Nations. It’s all being said and done for political profit.

The Big Losers once again are African-Americans especially the dumb ones that voted for Barack Obama thinking he was someone other than the sleazy self-interested Chicago politician he still is.

It is not just that black boys are being taught they are losers and that white men are out to kill them and that the “system” is so tilted against them that they can never win (this is said straight-faced even with a black president and a black attorney general and black mayors in many cities). The very system of law that protects many black men suspected of crimes is in danger, but ObamaDon’tCare as long as he benefits politically.

According to the believe-anything-Barack-Obama-says National Journal Obama has three aims:

“To combat these larger social issues, President Obama offered three broad suggestions:

1. Get the Justice Department involved with training local governments to reduce mistrust in the legal system. (It’s worth remembering that this episode started over an outcry that Zimmerman wasn’t arrested at all after the incident.)

2. Examine local laws — such as “Stand Your Ground” — and see if they “may encourage the kinds of altercations and confrontations and tragedies that we saw in the Florida case rather than diffuse potential altercations.”

3. Think about ways to bolster and reinforce African American boys so they do not get caught up in the legal system (as the statistics indicate they are more likely to be).

How ridiculous are these claims/goals? After conducting a wave of protests and Big Media speeches telling black boys and black girls (along with black men and black women) that the “system”, legal and otherwise, is targeting them for death and abuse Obama then turns around and says he wants to “bolster” black boys versus the legal system and reduce “mistrust” in the legal system. What a liar and scoundrel Barack Obama is.

Then there is the Barack Obama nonsense and lies about the “stand your ground” law. As has been noted in our comments section “Blacks benefit from Florida ‘Stand Your Ground’ law at disproportionate rate“. That’s right. And this is true even as “the majority of victims in Florida “Stand Your Ground” cases have been white.” Black people are better off in Florida with the “stand your ground” law but ObamaDon’tCare.

Barack Obama is race-baiting for political profit and hurting black Americans (even if most are so invested in skin color they refuse to recognize their own interests). At CNN Walter Olsen is warning black Americans:

“People upset at George Zimmerman’s acquittal are calling for awarding various new powers to prosecutors at the expense of protections for criminal defendants.

Maybe this would make it easier to hang a rap on some future Zimmerman. But it also would have an effect that its backers probably don’t intend: increasing the number of persons convicted and sent to prison. As part of that effect, more young black men — as well as more members of other groups — will end up behind bars.

On Twitter and Facebook, many people have expressed frustration with the conviction standard of “beyond a reasonable doubt,” which the state of Florida was unable to overcome. Couldn’t we lower it? Others hoped prosecutors could appeal the verdict (right now, they can’t; an acquittal is final).

To change either of these basic features of our judicial system, we’d have to overturn the Supreme Court’s settled view of the Bill of Rights or amend the U.S. Constitution itself. And what would happen if we did? Convictions would rise, and the nation’s outlandishly large and disproportionately black prison rolls would swell yet further.

Or consider the popular notion of retrying Zimmerman on federal charges.

Under our Constitution, even serious crimes such as murder are traditionally offenses under state law only.

In a controversial 1959 opinion, Bartkus v. Illinois, the Supreme Court ruled that consecutive prosecutions under state and federal law do not violate the Constitution’s ban on double jeopardy. Interestingly, that was the view of the court’s five more conservative justices. The dissenters, who warned eloquently of the dangers of letting government try people twice for the same conduct, were the four liberals: Earl Warren, William Douglas, Hugo Black and William Brennan.”

That is how perverse these excrements who call themselves “progressives” or “liberals” have become. They want to destroy what liberals from ages past built all in the name of hunting down a Latino man with the non-Latino name of Zimmerman. Those of us who voted for Hillary Clinton in the 2008 primaries don’t recognize ourselves or our views in the filth that occupies the White House and the “Department of Justice” and certainly not in the DNC. Our political beliefs might be “liberal” but we do not identify with these creeps.

Barack Obama’s statement today is about race-baiting. Some claim that in this Video: Obama tries to break it to the left that the DOJ’s not going to prosecute Zimmerman. This claim is misguided. It’s about race-baiting.

It’s about race-baiting. Dance with the one who brung ya and it is race-baiting that got Obama where he is.

Think skin color should be the sole deciding factor in how someone thinks, speaks and acts? Then this is the crowd for you.

As Twitchy reported, basketball legend Charles Barkley told CNBC he agrees with the Zimmerman verdict and said he doesn’t “like when race gets out in the media because I don’t think the media has a pure heart.” Earlier this week, Bill Cosby also slammed media coverage of the trial and said:

Let me just tell you this, man. See this racial stuff goes into a whole bunch of discussion which has stuff that you can’t prove. You can’t prove if somebody is a racist unless they really come out and do the act and is found to be that.

Time for the tolerance brigade to whip out hateful racial slurs and punitive accusations that Cosby and Barkley are self-loathing race traitors. As Clarence Thomas, Ben Carson, Tim Scott, Mia Love, Stacey Dash and countless others have heard over and over: Toe the line … or else.

Judge Rules That Detroit’s Bankruptcy Is Unconstitutional, Ruling That It “Dishonors” Obama
    —Ace

    judgebilde.jpg
What are you going to say? Nothin’, that’s what. What is there to say?

This is just the socialists attempting to avoid the natural consequences of
the monstrosity they have birthed and called “the New America.”

Ruling that the governor and Detroit’s emergency manager violated the state constitution, an Ingham County Circuit judge ordered Friday that Detroit’s federal bankruptcy filing be withdrawn.
“It’s absolutely needed,” said Judge Rosemary Aquilina, observing she hopes Gov. Rick Snyder “reads certain sections of the (Michigan) constitution and reconsiders his actions.”

“It’s cheating, sir, and it’s cheating good people who work,” the judge told assistant Attorney General Brian Devlin. “It’s also not honoring the (United States) president, who took (Detroit’s auto companies) out of bankruptcy.”

Aquilina said she would make sure President Obama got a copy of her order.

“I know he’s watching this,” she said, predicting the president ultimately will have to take action to make sure existing pension commitments are honored.

She actually speaks of this nothing as if he were a god, or a child’s conception of a god, such as Santa Claus, watching down upon us, ordering the universe.

They said if I voted for Romney, the country would be in the hands of a bizarre cult worshiping a ludicrous god, and they were right!

Is She… Right? AlextheChick says that the unions (I assume) may have inserted a provision into the state constitution which essentially puts state taxpayers on the hook for any promises city governments make:

This is the specific Michigan State Constitutional provision at play. Section 24 of the Michigan State Constitution reads as follows:
Section 24: Public Pension Plans and Retirement Systems, Obligation – The accrued financial benefits of each pension plan and retirement system of the state and its political subdivisions shall be a contractual obligation thereof which shall not be diminished or impaired thereby. Financial benefits, annual funding. Financial benefits arising on account of service rendered in each fiscal year shall be funded during that year and such funding shall not be used for financing unfunded accrued liabilities.

But that itself would be unconstitutional — that would give Detroit voters the right to vote themselves the wealth of Michigan taxpayers.

Which seems to be precisely what the judge is saying — Detroit spent money it didn’t have, and spent itself into the grave, and now innocent taxpayers are required to make good on its contracts, despite not being parties to those contracts and despite not being under the sovereign political authority of Detroit.

    http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2013/07/19/cummings-i-cross-the-street-when-white-women-walk-toward-me/

Washington (CNN) – Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Maryland, has been a member of Congress for almost two decades.

Yet when he is walking down the street in Washington, D.C., at night and white women walk toward him, he says “I cross the street” to avoid making them uncomfortable.

Cummings says he rarely speaks about race or what life is like as a black man, but says President Barack Obama’s heartfelt remarks Friday afternoon made him more comfortable to do so.

“I think it’s important that he speak out and he brings a very unique perspective, because is the president and he has been extremely fortunate compared to most African-Americans, and yet still he can speak to the prejudices that most of us still face,” Cummings told CNN in a telephone interview.

Cummings lives in what calls the “inner city” of Baltimore, Maryland.

For emphasis, he says “when I say inner, I mean inner.”

The 10 term congressman says he loves to go shopping with his wife, because he likes to watch her try on dresses. But he won’t do it outside his district where people know him because “I don’t like the idea of people following me around.”

“People usually have the security guard following me, or questions with the overabundant, ‘can I help you?’ They think you’re going to do something wrong. We’ve seen it over and over again since childhood,” said Cummings.

He joked that it’s a bit better recently since, as the ranking member of the GOP-led House Oversight Committee, which is investigating IRS misconduct, Benghazi and more, he is on T.V. often and is recognized outside his district.

Still, he too talked about “feeling the tension” when he is in the elevator with a white woman.

“The tension… it’s hard to describe,” he said.

Some African-American leaders and activists have expressed frustration with Obama for not using his position to stir a national discussion about race. Cummings was not one of those people.

“It’s not that simple. People go crazy,” said Cummings.

“I see the way this country reacts to the littlest thing he says about race,” he said.

Plus, Cummings believes that before Obama was elected to his second and final term, it would have been “counterproductive to talk about these things because everything was in the prism of politics.”

“Now that he has the freedom to not worry about re-election, I think he has a better opportunity,” said Cummings.

A day earlier, Cummings’ race played out in an awkward moment during a tension-filled IRS hearing.

When admonishing Cummings, Rep. Darrell Issa, the Republican Oversight Committee chairman, referred to Cummings as “a little boy whose hand’s caught in the cookie jar.”

Later, Issa apologized to his African-American colleague for using the term “boy.”

“That is something I grew up with, it is intended to be about a small child, and in no way the use of boy or little boy to be anything else,” Issa said.

Cummings thanked Issa, saying he appreciated his words.

Could all this race-baiting drama just be orchestrated to keep the thunder clouds of scandals hidden from the front pages of the news again, while the government buys time to bury their crimes a little deeper?

The IRS, NSA, DOJ, F&F, Benghazi, and all the things we don’t know about yet.

  9. Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s food police have struck again!

Outlawed are food donations to homeless shelters because the city can’t assess their salt, fat and fiber content, reports CBS 2’s Marcia Kramer.

Glenn Richter arrived at a West Side synagogue on Monday to collect surplus bagels — fresh nutritious bagels — to donate to the poor. However, under a new edict from Bloomberg’s food police he can no longer donate the food to city homeless shelters.

Pentagon does about-face on key Benghazi witness, makes Marine colonel available to talk to Congress

Col. George Bristol was in charge of Special Operations Forces in Northern Africa on the night of the Benghazi, Libya terror attack
The Dept. of Defense had refused to tell Congress where to find him, claiming that he was retired and entitled to protection under privacy laws
After pressure from Sen. Lindsey Graham, the Pentagon has changed its mind – now acknowledging that Bristol is not yet retired
Questions remain about why commandos were not sent to Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012, even though a team was standing by to board a plane

  12. Obama won’t talk about this black on black crime:

    http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/Brooklyn-Rape-Girl-Thrown-Roof-Police-Suspect-Crime-Attempted-Murder-216135941.html

Police have arrested one man and are searching for a second suspect after they allegedly lured a 16-year-old girl to a Brooklyn roof, where they raped her before throwing her off, leaving her with serious injuries to her leg, arm and back, authorities said.

Authorities say the two men, ages 24 and 26, lured the teenage girl to the roof of a three-story building on Miller Avenue in East New York early Sunday.

They allegedly raped her and flung her off the roof after at least one of them tried to strangle her, police said. She was taken to Brookdale Hospital.

Neighbors were shaken Friday to learn of the attack.

“I felt bad because I got a daughter and I wouldn’t want that to happen to my child. And I’m a girl and I wouldn’t want that to happen to me,” said one woman. “I go out and I come in late at night, and you don’t know what might happen.”

Police arrested 24-year-old Anwar Desouza, who lives at the building where the girl was attacked, and charged him with attempted murder, rape, criminal sexual act and strangulation.

Information on an attorney for him wasn’t immediately available.

Authorities are looking for his alleged accomplice, who has been identified as 26-year-old Antonio Owensford. Police released a photo of Owensford (above).

  14. Admin…there are SOOOO many stories like the one you posted above regarding the creeps that lured that girl…stories more bizarre and brutal than the next…in the last week i posted two – one, the guy strangeled, killed and dumpted the 6 yr old girl in dumpster…and the guy who shot the hispanic man at the bus stop in the head for no reason and murdered the father…

and i think foxy and freespirit have listed other awful stories about groups of guys ganging up on people and murdering them

…not one freaking peep from media…or O…as these continued cries for victimhood increase…it is racebaiting…no doubt about it…if these same people can’t look at these other aspects of “their community” then this is one sided and self serving…

  15. S, Shadowfax, and Foxyladi14, next racist horror story will be that some white grandma donated a salt buttered bagel to a black food bank. She will be termed a racist terrorist out to commit genocide by bagel.

The FBI will be called in by Bloomberg to hunt the old woman down and the New York Police Department will be ordered by the kook City Council to deploy a dragnet to bring the white-haired bagel giver to justice. Meanwhile, innocent blacks will be hunted, raped and killed by malicious criminals who also happen to be black so no one in government or Big Media will care.

  16. If Obama had an ounce of decency and intelligence he would realize that it coulda been him like Zimmerman being beaten by a thug.

  17. I suspect that Power comes from Pict stock. They were a late Iron Age people who congregated in Scotland. In battle, they painted their faces blue. Were she to do so, it would be a vast improvement. Former assistant attorney Andy McCarty points out how obstructionist she was before Congress, even without resorting to be blue paint:
    —————————————————————————————————————–

By confirming Ms. Power, the Senate would effectively be saying that congressional hearings are a clown show. Lawmakers would be inviting future witnesses to treat them with the same contempt Ms. Power exhibited. Imagine …

Q: Did you, as an IRS bureaucrat, target conservative groups on orders from your superiors?

A: I think America is the greatest country in the world because it guarantees free expression for all Americans….

Q: Can you tell us what the president was doing between 6pm and 2am while Americans were under siege in Benghazi?

A: The president believes American is the greatest country in the world, and as he has said many times, he takes his duties as commander-in-chief extremely seriously….

Q: Did you, Mr. Attorney General, approve a search-warrant application that represented to the court that a member of the media was not just a witness but had committed a serious felony?

A: I think America is the greatest country in the world because it guarantees freedom of the press in a robust marketplace of ideas.

Q: But didn’t you tell the court that a member of the press had done enough to be prosecuted before telling us under oath that you’d never considered prosecuting members of the press?

A: Well, America being the greatest country in the world and all, I can’t tell you how much I admire the Framers for giving us a Congress I so admire and a court system I so admire so that journalists can do the vital work we all so admire….

You get the drift. Why should anyone ever again answer a significant question in a congressional hearing about a matter of public interest? And why pretend that confirmation hearings are anything other than theater — why convene them at all — if the nominee gets to give the soliloquies of her choosing and thumb her nose at all confrontational lines of inquiry? Those would be the lines most revealing about her suitability, the ones that go to the essence of the Senate’s constitutional duty to evaluate high-level appointees.

I was fortunate to appear before scores of excellent federal judges in many years as a government lawyer. I cannot think of a single one who would have let Samantha Power pull what she pulled in the Senate foreign relations committee on Wednesday. They had too much self-respect.

    Does the Senate have any?

New York Times Editorial on President Obama’s Race Speech
    Oh brother.

At the Old Gray Lady, “President Obama’s Anguish”:
President Obama did something Friday that he hardly ever does and no other president could ever have done. He addressed the racial fault lines in the country by laying bare his personal anguish and experience in an effort to help white Americans understand why African-Americans reacted with frustration and anger to the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the shooting of Trayvon Martin.
Mr. Obama’s comments during a surprise appearance at the White House press briefing crystallized the dissonance around this case. In the narrow confines of the trial, all talk of race was excluded, and the “stand your ground” element in Florida’s self-defense law was not invoked by Mr. Zimmerman’s lawyers. But in the broader, more profound and more troubling context of Mr. Martin’s death, race and Florida’s lax gun laws are inextricably interwoven.
On the first, Mr. Obama said: “The judge conducted the trial in a professional manner. The prosecution and the defense made their arguments.” The jurors, he added, “were properly instructed that in a case such as this reasonable doubt was relevant, and they rendered a verdict.”
But on the broader context, Mr. Obama eloquently rebutted those like Representative Andy Harris, a Republican, with his dismissive “get over it” remark on Tuesday who said that the verdict should have ended discussion of the case, especially talk about race and gun laws.
“Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago,” Mr. Obama said, adding that “it’s important to recognize that the African-American community is looking at this issue through a set of experiences and a history that doesn’t go away.”
He said there are “very few African-American men in this country who haven’t had the experience of being followed when they were shopping in a department store” or “the experience of getting on an elevator and a woman clutching her purse nervously and holding her breath until she had a chance to get off.”
    “That,” he said, “includes me.”

    Whatever.

It’s a sideshow for the most part.

  21. USA: It’s come to this……

How miserable must a person be to accuse a supermarket chain of “racism” because of some wilted asparagus?

The gist of this tale is that some miserable person named David Olander, a University City (UC) resident and member of the city’s Commission on Human Relations, was unhappy with the state of the asparagus he found on a visit to the UC Schnucks market one day in May. So, feeling “ornery”, Sad-Sack Olander decided to make a big fuss out of the fact that the asparagus wasn’t looking too inviting.

It was “just sitting there dried out”…..

See, the asparagus he saw back in May was a far cry from the asparagus he had seen at the Schnucks about eight miles away in Ladue, where it sat in water, looking beautiful. And so his racism radar was galvanized into action.

He promptly summoned the store’s assistant manager, and then he asked the BIG question:
“Did the quality of the asparagus have any relationship to the store’s location in a Black neighborhood?”

  22. War On Terror: The jury has been selected and the trial date set for the jihadist accused of 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 of attempted premeditated murder acting, as he says, in defense of the Taliban. Army Sgt. Alonzo Lunsford has not received a phone call from Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson. Nor does the African-American veteran who was shot seven times by Maj. Nidal Hasan at Fort Hood expect to. He is merely relieved that nearly four years after the massacre at the Army base in Texas, a jury has finally been selected and a trial date has been set. Thirteen people, including a pregnant soldier, were killed and 32 others shot Nov. 5, 2009, at the Killeen facility during Hasan’s rampage against soldiers being processed for deployment to Afghanistan. Hasan has said he did it in defense of the Taliban, a self-admitted act of terrorism on behalf of a foreign entity.
One would expect that when a self-proclaimed “soldier of Allah” shouting “Allahu Akhbar” opens fire on dozens of American citizens and soldiers, killing and maiming as many innocents as he can, it would have been called an act of terror. One of the great scandals of the Obama administration has been its shameful designation of the massacre as “workplace violence.” Attorney General Eric Holder has refrained from filing terrorism charges in the case and is currently busy in Florida announcing his intent to find George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watchman found innocent of murdering Trayvon Martin, guilty of something, anything, to satisfy the racial grievance industry. “Not only am I disappointed (in Holder), I’m embarrassed. Mr. Holder needs to understand the repercussions of his actions,” Sgt. Lunsford says. Lunsford also expressed outrage at the fact that some victims are financially struggling, but that because of the categorization of the shooting as a “workplace shooting,” he and those other victims are not entitled to combat-related benefits they would have received had they been injured overseas. Meanwhile, Hasan has continued to receive paychecks over the past four years, amounting to $287,000.

  23. Barack Obama’s Delusional Racist Sanctimony

By Larry Johnson on July 20, 2013

Barack Obama, race baiter in Chief, was out in public Friday spouting this crap from his yawning yap:

“Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago,” the president said in his first on-camera response to Saturday’s verdict. “In the African- American community at least, there’s a lot of pain around what happened here. I think it’s important to recognize that the African- American community is looking at this issue through a set of experiences and a history that doesn’t go away.”

Right. Did I miss something? Did Trayvon attend an elite private school in Hawaii? Was Trayvon running with a multi-ethnic group of potheads? Was Trayvon the adopted son of an Indonesian Muslim? Did Trayvon have a white mother and live with his white Grandparents? Was Trayvon dating white women?

Seriously. Is this guy doing drugs in the White House?

Like Trayvon, Obama was hitting the ganja as a teenager. But, unlike Trayvon, he did not put gold on his grill. Perhaps Barack imagines himself as the gangsta of Hawaii. In truth, he reveled in privilege and used his race to seek personal advantage. Trayvon? A wannabe punk who made the mistake of jumping a guy who had a gun.

I cringed listening to Obama. What a despicable poseur. He ain’t no Trayvon. More like an “ass cracker,” a Hawaiian variety if you ask me.

  24. Salon Rich Benjamin – Is Holder Obama’s Inner N*gger?

My jaw dropped when I saw this. Joan Walsh’s Salon Magazine is asking if Eric Holder is Obama’s ‘inner n*gger.’ Yes, Salon, the far left, ‘progressive’ rag. Rich Benjamin, a noted race hustler who sometimes appears on O’Reilly to spew his race hustling rhetoric wrote the article for Salon. Remember, this is the same leftist rag that had David Sirota write an article after the Boston terrorist attacks ‘Let’s hope Boston Marathon bomber is white American.’ There is just no end to the leftist race hustling. One of their partners who was gifted a political appointment as Chief Council for the IRS in exchange for massive political contributions to Obama by is firm is emerging as the Gordon Liddy of the IRS scandal. It is highly unlikely that this lawyer acted sua sponte–on his own motion. On the contrary, it is likely that he discussed his intention to use the IRS as a vehicle to shut down Obama political opponents on the eve of the 2012 election, with the White House Chief Council Bob Baer of Perkins Coie, a Seattle firm, who was shown to have engaged in the same kind of conduct in the 2008 primary and general election, as chief council for the Obama campaign. And it is hard to believe that one or both of these attorneys did not discuss this matter directly with Obama.

NYC Mayoral Candidate Anthony Weiner Takes Al Jazeera Cash

Oy! Jewish leaders are kvetching over Anthony Weiner’s accepting campaign cash from a lobbyist for Al Jazeera Osama bin Laden’s favorite TV network.

City Councilman Lew Fidler (D-Brooklyn), who has endorsed former city Comptroller Bill Thompson’s mayoral bid, called on rival candidate Weiner to return the $4,950 donation to lobbyist John Merrigan.

“Al Jazeera and its lobbyists are no friends to New York City or our Jewish community, and Anthony shouldn’t accept their support,” Fidler said. “They have spread hate and lies against Jews, not only here in New York but across the world. The right thing to do is to give this money back. Anthony should do exactly that.”

Big media is loving, loving, loving every single solitary minute of this escalation which they helped foment.

Moreover, they are betting that by Monday, Obama’s Rassmussen ratings will soar above 50%. They will try to force a national dialogue on race relations, which nobody is interested in.

This is hardly what one might describe as an era of plenty, where the country is ready willing and able to waste trillions on more Great Society Programs which produce counterproductive results.

Furthermore, the lying, cheating, gold bricking Obama, is a poor role model. He has dried up the reservoir of good will which previously existed in the white community. Yet polls reveal that black people and democrats in general cling to him grabs a razor blade, as if it were a life preserver.

Also, I am not entirely sure that this gotterdamerung which big media has fomented will help their sinking ratings, which is of course, the only thing that really matters to them. Death, destruction and national failure promoted by their strategies are immaterial compared to the looming threat that their caviar supply will run dry.

But don’t worry for them, be happy, for there is such a thing as the law of holes which says when you are in don’t think, just keep digging. And, while you are at it, learn to speak Chinese, because in the end. The good news is they are not big believers in civil rights in general, much less the faux civil rights bullshit we see from the democrat party, mainstream media cartel. Tienanmen Square proves that.

He is the only one on the horizon who has the will and capacity to blow the whistle on the corruption and decadence we see, and as tough as he is on the democrats, he is equally tough on his own party who has broken faith with their base. Obviously, the House is the exception, where there are still a handful of patriots, like Issa, Gowdy, Jordan and a few others.

Drip. Drip. Drip. Few sounds are more annoying than a water faucet that won’t stop dripping in the night, particularly for those desperately trying to nod off from reality. One sound that is likely far more annoying for President Obama and his allies in Congress and on the Left side of the mediasphere is the steady drip of the IRS scandal. More drips fell Thursday as Rep. Darrell Issa’s House Oversight and Government Reform Committee continued to unravel the back story of the federal tax agency’s illegal harassment and intimidation of conservative, evangelical and Tea Party groups applying for non-profit status between 2010 and 2012.
Sign Up for the Politics Today newsletter!

The president and his backers initially dismissed the harassment as merely the work of two rogue IRS agents in Cincinnati. Then the cover story became a little bit wider, but still contained the scandal in Ohio. The scary tactics evidenced by demands for lists of donors and descriptions of the political views of applicants were nothing more than over-zealous public servants trying to “manage more efficiently,” in the words of former acting IRS Commissioner Steven T. Miller. Nothing to see here, so move along, folks, move along.

Political appointees serve at the pleasure of one person and one only, the president. They are frequently among his most devoted disciples, having worked long hours to get their man elected, and their loyalty is solely to him and his political agenda.’

But the drips grew steadily more irritating after career bureaucrat Lois Lerner stiffed the committee by invoking the Fifth Amendment to avoid answering questions and former IRS head Douglas Shulman dissed the House panel by citing the Easter Egg Roll by way of explaining his more than 160 visits to the White House during the harassment period. Shulman’s sneer notwithstanding, at least the president and his supporters could still credibly claim that nothing linked the illegal harassment to anybody in the White House.

That assertion went down the drain Thursday when two career IRS employees – the recently retired Carter Hull and tax agent Elizabeth Hofacre – said they acted at the behest of higher-ups, and not just those in the hinterlands. Hull’s testimony was especially important because he is a 48-year veteran of the IRS and prior to his retirement was one of its most trusted experts on tax exemption issues. Hull said he was told to forward the targeted applications to, among others, one of only two political appointees in the IRS, Chief Counsel William Wilkins. The chief counsel’s office apparently was the black hole into which hundreds of the targeted applications disappeared for months at a time, according to Hull.

The president’s defenders can dismiss the Wilkins involvement until they are blue in the face, but it won’t change the fact that political appointees serve at the pleasure of one person and one only, the president. They are frequently among his most devoted disciples, having worked long hours to get their man elected, and their loyalty is solely to him and his political agenda. Many cabinet-level departments have hundreds of political appointees; the IRS is unique in having only two. They must be loyal indeed. The drips won’t stop anytime soon.

  33. Noonan: A Bombshell in the IRS Scandal
No, it wasn’t confined to a few rogue workers in Cincinnati.

The IRS scandal was connected this week not just to the Washington office—that had been established—but to the office of the chief counsel.

That is a bombshell—such a big one that it managed to emerge in spite of an unfocused, frequently off-point congressional hearing in which some members seemed to have accidentally woken up in the middle of a committee room, some seemed unaware of the implications of what their investigators had uncovered, one pretended that the investigation should end if IRS workers couldn’t say the president had personally called and told them to harass his foes, and one seemed to be holding a filibuster on Pakistan.

Still, what landed was a bombshell. And Democrats know it. Which is why they are so desperate to make the investigation go away. They know, as Republicans do, that the chief counsel of the IRS is one of only two Obama political appointees in the entire agency.

To quickly review why the new information, which came most succinctly in a nine-page congressional letter to IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel, is big news:

    image
    image
    Getty Images

IRS Tax Exempt and Government Entities Division revenue agent Elizabeth Hofacre, left, and retired IRS tax law specialist Carter Hull testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on Capitol Hill on Thursday.

When the scandal broke two months ago, in May, IRS leadership in Washington claimed the harassment of tea-party and other conservative groups requesting tax-exempt status was confined to the Cincinnati office, where a few rogue workers bungled the application process. Lois Lerner, then the head of the exempt organizations unit in Washington, said “line people in Cincinnati” did work that was “not so fine.” They asked questions that “weren’t really necessary,” she claimed, and operated without “the appropriate level of sensitivity.” But the targeting was “not intentional.” Ousted acting commissioner Steven Miller also put it off on “people in Cincinnati.” They provided “horrible customer service.”

House investigators soon talked to workers in the Cincinnati office, who said everything they did came from Washington. Elizabeth Hofacre, in charge of processing tea-party applications in Cincinnati, told investigators that her work was overseen and directed by a lawyer in the IRS Washington office named Carter Hull.

Now comes Mr. Hull’s testimony. And like Ms. Hofacre, he pointed his finger upward. Mr. Hull—a 48-year IRS veteran and an expert on tax exemption law—told investigators that tea-party applications under his review were sent upstairs within the Washington office, at the direction of Lois Lerner.

In April 2010, Hull was assigned to scrutinize certain tea-party applications. He requested more information from the groups. After he received responses, he felt he knew enough to determine whether the applications should be approved or denied.

But his recommendations were not carried out.

Michael Seto, head of Mr. Hull’s unit, also spoke to investigators. He told them Lois Lerner made an unusual decision: Tea-party applications would undergo additional scrutiny—a multilayered review.

Mr. Hull told House investigators that at some point in the winter of 2010-11, Ms. Lerner’s senior adviser, whose name is withheld in the publicly released partial interview transcript, told him the applications would require further review:

Q: “Did [the senior adviser to Ms. Lerner] indicate to you whether she agreed with your recommendations?”

A: “She did not say whether she agreed or not. She said it should go to chief counsel.”

    Q: “The IRS chief counsel?”

    A: “The IRS chief counsel.”

The IRS chief counsel is named William Wilkins. And again, he is one of only two Obama political appointees in the IRS.

What was the chief counsel’s office looking for? The letter to Mr. Werfel says Mr. Hull’s supervisor, Ronald Shoemaker, provided insight: The counsel’s office wanted, in the words of the congressional committees, “information about the applicants’ political activities leading up to the 2010 election.” Mr. Shoemaker told investigators he didn’t find that kind of question unreasonable, but he found the counsel’s office to be “not very forthcoming”: “We discussed it to some extent and they indicated that they wanted more development of possible political activity or political intervention right before the election period.”

It’s almost as if—my words—the conservative organizations in question were, during two major election cycles, deliberately held in a holding pattern.

So: What the IRS originally claimed was a rogue operation now reaches up not only to the Washington office, but into the office of the IRS chief counsel himself.

At the generally lacking House Oversight Committee Hearings on Thursday, some big things still got said.

Ms. Hofacre of the Cincinnati office testified that when she was given tea-party applications, she had to kick them upstairs. When she was given non-tea-party applications, they were sent on for normal treatment. Was she told to send liberal or progressive groups for special scrutiny? No, she did not scrutinize the applications of liberal or progressive groups. “I would send those to general inventory.” Who got extra scrutiny? “They were all tea-party and patriot cases.” She became “very frustrated” by the “micromanagement” from Washington. “It was like working in lost luggage.” She applied to be transferred.

For his part, Mr. Hull backed up what he’d told House investigators. He described what was, essentially, a big, lengthy runaround in the Washington office in which no one was clear as to their reasons but everything was delayed. The multitiered scrutiny of the targeted groups was, he said, “unusual.”

It was Maryland’s Rep. Elijah Cummings, the panel’s ranking Democrat, who, absurdly, asked Ms. Hofacre if the White House called the Cincinnati office to tell them what to do and whether she has knowledge of the president of the United States digging through the tax returns of citizens. Ms. Hofacre looked surprised. No, she replied.

It wasn’t hard to imagine her thought bubble: Do congressmen think presidents call people like me and say, “Don’t forget to harass my enemies”? Are congressmen that stupid?

Mr. Cummings is not, and his seeming desperation is telling. Recent congressional information leads to Washington—and now to very high up at the IRS. Meaning this is the point at which a scandal goes nowhere or, maybe, everywhere.

Rep. Trey Gowdy, a South Carolina Republican, finally woke the proceedings up with what he called “the evolution of the defense” since the scandal began. First, Ms. Lerner planted a question at a conference. Then she said the Cincinnati office did it—a narrative that was advanced by the president’s spokesman, Jay Carney. Then came the suggestion the IRS was too badly managed to pull off a sophisticated conspiracy. Then the charge that liberal groups were targeted too—”we did it against both ends of the political spectrum.” When the inspector general of the IRS said no, it was conservative groups that were targeted, he came under attack. Now the defense is that the White House wasn’t involved, so case closed.

This is one Republican who is right about evolution.

Those trying to get to the bottom of the scandal have to dig in, pay attention. The administration’s defenders, and their friends in the press, have made some progress in confusing the issue through misdirection and misstatement.

This is the moment things go forward or stall. Republicans need to find out how high the scandal went and why, exactly, it went there. To do that they’ll have to up their game.

Tragically, this thing will just have to run its course. People like Barkely, Cosby and a handful of other black celebrities capable of reaching the delusional masses have tried to bring some logic to the process, only to be attacked themselves for doing so. They are akin to an investor, whose name escapes me, who jumped into the market in the days following Black Friday 1929, in an effort to save it from mob hysteria, only to be drowned in the process.

The forces working AGAINST the welfare of the American People here are too powerful to be pre-empted. There is enough high level push behind it, and there are enough delusional people out there running around with pictures in their heads which bear no relationship to reality, that it will reach the point of violence. And big media, who fomented all this, by hiring Sharpton, defining the Martin tragedy as white on black violence, altering the audio tape, and attacking the jury verdict, rather than the corrupt politically inspired prosecution that produced it, will downplay or ignore the story, so as not to implicate themselves.

I personally believe that the American People have but one eternal enemy, and it is big media. And they will be there long after Obama and his Chicago vermin have been sluiced from the corridors of Pennsylvania Avenue. The future of this country depends on ignoring their voice. Listening to them is a bad habit that sensible people must have the determination to break. They are a worse carcinogen than chewing tobacco. They are poison.

  40. I just had to post this because I remember the Morton Downey Jr show. Wasn’t much of a fan, but I do remember it.

Hey Al Sharpton-Do You Still Call People “Punk Faggots”?

The mainstream media likes to fancy the faux-Reverend Al Sharpton as a civil rights leader even though he doesn’t believe in Civil Rights. His incitement of George Zimmerman is celebrated through the mainstream media even though he is devoid of facts.

In promoting Sharpton’s racial hatred, the media never talks about his history of hatred. For the past week we have taken on that role, discussing Freddy’s and Crown Heights etc. Today we provide another tidbit from this media hero’s past.

Back in the day a local independent TV Station in the New York City ran a original talk show called the Morton Downey Jr show. The program featured screaming matches among Downey, his guests, and audience members. Literally a big chunk of the shows was the audience and Downey yelling at each other. Using a large silver bowl for an ashtray, he would chain-smoke during the show and blow smoke in his guests’ faces. It was true train-wreck TV.

Downey’s fans became known as “Loudmouths”, patterned after the studio lecterns decorated with gaping cartoon mouths, from which Downey’s guests would go head-to-head against each other on their respective Springer’s trailer-trash in heat show is classy compared to the regular Downy fare.

Thanks to Downy phrases such as “pablum puking liberal” and “zip it!” were written on t shirts all across America contemporary vernacular. Part of his shtick was fighting with the guests and enticing guests to fight with each other.

An upcoming documentary about the late Morton Downey, Jr., the acerbic, chain-smoking talk show host, promises a meditation on the progenitor of trash TV, whose eponymous 1980s program was filmed in Secaucus, New Jersey and whose audience was filled with current and future probationers.

For us, though, the highlight of the the trailer for “Évocateur” is the brief time capsule look at Al Sharpton, then a rotund Brooklyn reverend with a prodigious konk. As seen below during a commercial break–but while cameras continued rolling–the “civil rights” leader is seen yelling at an audience member who likely had commented negatively on Sharpton’s weight, race, bow tie, or affiliation with Tawana Brawley. Perhaps all four.

Saying that he was “tired of them acting big,” Sharpton told the unseen audience member, “You ain’t nothing! You a punk faggot!” Gesturing for the Downey fan to come up to the stage and rumble, Sharpton added, “Now come on and do something.”

So enjoy this short video of Al Sharpton, before he was complaining to the FCC about bigoted journalists, you know in the good old days when he was lying about Tawana Brawley and leading Pogroms against Jews in Crown Heights and at Freddy’s Fashion Mart in Harlem.

Polls: George Zimmerman’s Favorability Rating Higher Than Al Sharpton’s

    http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Journalism/2013/07/20/Polls-Zimmerman-More-Popular-Than-Sharpton

The last Rasmussen poll that looked at NBC’s Al Sharpton was in April of last year. It showed that only 26% of Americans viewed the MSNBC anchor favorably, while a full 60% viewed him unfavorably. It is hard to imagine that has improved much considering his demagogic and racially-divisive behavior surrounding the tragic shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

By contrast, however, a new Rasmussen poll shows that George Zimmerman, the Hispanic man recently acquitted in the fatal shooting of Martin, is viewed favorably by 32% of the public (6 points higher than Sharpton), and unfavorably by less than half of the public, 48% (compared to Sharpton’s 60%).

What’s remarkable is that after 15 months of the media, political left, and Barack Obama engaging in a relentless campaign of lies, race-baiting, fabricating evidence, and selective reporting against Zimmerman, his unfavorable rating isn’t above 50%.

This is a huge failure, and not the only poll proving the media’s race-baiting campaign has failed. Recent polls have shown that the media’s dishonest push to make the Zimmerman affair about race (when all the evidence proves otherwise) has failed to convince 76% of the American people.

Government Lied About Boston Bomber Throat Wound

It’s another example of why you should never trust the government.

Back in April federal officialdom told us Boston bombing suspect Dzhokar Tsarnaev was shot in the throat and unable to talk. Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick was trotted out to confirm this fantasy story. He said Tsarnaev was in “serious but stable condition” and “not yet able to communicate yet.”

Then we were fed a more theatric version where the young Tsarnaev attempted to take his own life when he was supposedly trapped in a boat. “It is thought the teenager placed a gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger in a desperate bid to avoid capture and a possible death penalty,” claimed the British version of the National Enquirer, The Mirror. “Reports say the bullet passed through his throat, just missing his spinal cord, and came out the back of his neck.”

his Hollywoodesque version dovetailed nicely with the story that the evil Brothers Tsarnaev were in a running gun battle with the cops, flinging home-made pressure cooker bombs at their brave pursuers as the pair attempted to escape the long arm of the law.

Then we were told Dzhokar was being treated by Israeli doctors who “have abundant past experience treating victims of terror… because they’re from Israel.”

“Tsarnaev is in stable condition but that because of wounds to his throat, he may never be able to speak again,” The Blaze reported, feeding the fantasy.

Miami’s rally has wrapped up with pockets of remaining protestors dispersed by a typical Florida summer tropical downpour, according to Richard Luscombe.

Jordan Dent, a student at Miami-Dade College, said he was impressed by Tracy Martin’s composure and liked that he spoke from the heart.

“The heartbreak that family suffered has been intense but to see him here in Miami, wearing a Miami Marlins baseball cap and talking to us, and being so strong, is inspiring.”

Dent, 22, was among the first to arrive at the rally, which began at 10am and lasted almost four hours.

“We are all Trayvon,” he said, repeating the slogan of the Justice for Trayvon campaign. “We can’t change the verdict and we can’t bring Trayvon back, but when George Zimmerman decided not to stay in his car he started something that it’s our responsibility to finish. now if all these kids (and the white ones ) can promise to stop robbing, shooting, carjacking and killing each other and others in Miami, including innocent tourists…Miami will become crime free

I love when Dent, 22 says above:

hope that he and his buddies will follow that advice so that I, or any other person, black or white, will not have to worry about who’s following us…works both ways…

    Except in self defense.

That issue has been litigated, and Zimmerman was found to have killed Martin in self defense.

If the democrat party does not want to accept this

If they see this simply as a way to advance their racist meme against the Tea Party

    In combination with big media

Well, then, fuck them and the horse they rode in on.

Nothing that they do under color of governmental authority is legitimate.

If this were a one off situation, I would be loathe to say that.

But where, as here, it is DNC policy to racebait–as we saw with Van Hollen.

Then they have become, in effect, a subversive organization.

  53. wbboei, yes of course justified in self defense…i mean beyond that in relation to all this about black men being the only victims at the hands of everyone

what we keep nonstop all day and all night…

hence wrong for all to be victims of…black vs black and white…and white vs black and white

and off of them against women…

  55. I must be getting as stupid as an Obama voter–I did not connect the dots between the “gutsy” cover of Rolling Stone, as Politico described it, and the release of horrific pictures of the terrorist. It was a botched operation by Mayor Merlino, and the FBI, who were tipped off, but never bothered to connect the dots.

(Actually, I am marginally better than the Obama voter, because I do try to learn from my mistakes, whereas they go on and on and on repeating theirs. I call that uneducable, Hitler called it Good Germans, and Einstein called it the definition of insanity.)

They need to put on their brown shirts, get out their signs and go out and march for Reverend Sharpton who gets my vote for Time Magazine’s Man of the Year. The caption would read, with all the scandals, the unemployment, the bankruptcy of Detroit, the abject failure of our foreign policy, and you thought things could not get worse for this poor country, Dirty Al enters from the left side of the stage, and things went from bad to terrible.

This must be the sequel for Springtime For Hitler . . . winter for Poland, France and the middle class. Go get em tiger. And make sure you say praise Obama ten times so he does not feel like an abandoned child.

And therein lies another dimension of Obama’s perverse mental state. He wanted to use them against American citizens. So did McCain and Graham–neocons who never met a drone they did not like. It was a big joke when legitimate leaders like Rand Paul, Ted Cruise and Mike Lee took center stage and commenced their 13 hour filibuster. It was an affront to the customs and usages of seniority that these young upstarts should seize the moment. It was a big defeat for these relics of the past when the filibuster succeeded. And it was a terrible hair day for Obama, who threw an unreported hissy fit at the idea that one of his favorite killing toys was taken away from him, by those racists. Big media was sad and mournful as well, because they had so relished the potential spectacle of their hero, Obama, obliterating patriots like Snowden and Greenwald for example, who have done the right thing, even if it means pouring cold piss over the heads of big media, who believed they had the whip hand on everything.

And 5 years ago, give or take, the Turkey landed at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. The cheers from big media were 10 times louder than what Lindbergh received when he landed in Paris. Frankly, the reception we saw for Obama was more akin to the march and rally of 1934 depicted in the Nazi propaganda film Triumph of the Will. And big media has taken the fine art of lies, censorship, and propaganda, far beyond anything that Leni Riefenstahl, or Josef Goebbels could have imagined.

  64. New York Times, July 20, 2013 (“All the news that’s fit to print”)

“The Reverend Al Sharpton spoke in calm reassuring tones. He reminded his audience that not a sparrow falls to earth but it does not make a sound. Then, he led a solemn vigil for a tiny child four feet tall and eighty pounds whose life and future contributions to society were extinguished by a white Peruvian racist. He explained how the tiny child found the white Peruvian on the ground, pounding his head into the pavement. Being a good Samaritan, the tiny black child bent over, sat on the chest of the white Peruvian and tried valiantly to restrain him. He told him that there are better ways to cope with challenges of life, and offered him some skittles. Whereupon, the white Peruvian noticed the tiny child was black, did not wish to be interrupted in his orgy of self mutilation, and shot the tiny black child for trying to save him. The motive was racial. Alas, no good deed goes unpunished.”

The audience beheld the wisdom of Sharpton in a state of rapture. Some wept softly. And then, at the Reverend’s instigation, they all agreed to go get whitey. Since Peruvians are a rarity, any white man will do. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. As for these punks, let them taste the sweet fruits of incarceration.

Organized “bash mob” crime rampages of roving groups attacking innocent people and businesses have been striking cities around the United States. Law enforcement agencies in Southern California have reported few similar problems — until now.

In the last several days, there have been several reports of such group crime waves in South L.A., Hollywood, San Bernardino and Victorville. Long Beach police are bracing for another one Friday.

These so-called bash mobs of “flash mob” crime waves are organized through social media and have been a problem in Chicago, Philadelphia and Washington.

In April, 28 Chicago youths were arrested on suspicion of attacking pedestrians along the city’s famed Magnificent Mile. Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn signed legislation in May enacting stiffer penalties for people who text or use social media to organize mob attacks.

Long Beach police warned in a statement that participants could face severe penalties.

“The mere participation in such an event can result in felony charges including conspiracy, and are punishable by imprisonment in the state prison,” according to the statement.

Police said they feared bash mob organizers planned to hit Long Beach at 2 p.m.

Long Beach experienced such a gathering July 9, when more than 100 people descended on stretches of downtown in an organized, sudden crime rampage.

On Monday, a group of unruly young people broke off from hundreds gathered for a Trayvon Martin prayer vigil and rushed into a Wal-Mart on Crenshaw Boulevard, where they tossed merchandise and tried to break into a jewelry display case.

In Hollywood on Tuesday night, a flash mob of thieves rushed down Hollywood Boulevard, stealing phones, knocking over tourists and vandalizing shops, according to police, who said it may have been related to the George Zimmerman verdict. Twelve people — 11 juveniles and one 18-year-old — were arrested on suspicion of robbery.

On Wednesday night in Victorville, authorities arrested 17 people after a group allegedly tried to force its way into the Mall of Victor Valley.

I am so disappointed in POTUS Obama. as President, he could have been telling black fathers to assume responsibility for their children but by and large he hasen’t. he could have encouraged black families to get involved in their children’s education. 🙁

Foxi, he has failed the black community exponentially. Instead of using his reach to bring investment money from mega-wealthy blacks into black neighborhoods around the country, he lectured black men. Instead of rewarding businesses with tax breaks for felons (most of which would be black), he talked about fairness and picking oneself up by their bootstraps (whatever the hell that means). Instead of RUNNING to Africa with his big money capitalist donors with a mind to INVEST, not give charity, in African countries, he went to Egypt to apologize to the muslim world. He has failed black people in particular, but Americans in general as well.

    Excellent.

Unfortunately, it does not seem to phase the 48% who still approve of the job Obama is doing.

It now seems highly doubtful that anything will ever persuade them.

    Least of all, the facts.

  68. We respect non-believers but their organizations have become a religion of the insane:

Atheist Group Seeks to Block Star of David on Holocaust Memorial

An atheist activist organization wants a proposed Ohio statehouse Holocaust memorial to remove the Star of David symbol, which, the group claims, is an “exclusionary” religious symbol.

According to The Columbus Dispatch, the non-profit Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF), known for its activism concerning church-state separation, claimed that the inclusion of the Judaic symbol is a breach of the U.S. Constitution.

In a June 14 letter to Richard H. Finan, chairman of the Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board, two FFRF officials said they have no objections to a Holocaust memorial at the statehouse, but claimed that the cut-out version of the six-pointed Star of David would be a violation of the separation of church and state as provided for in the Constitution.

“Permitting one permanent sectarian and exclusionary religious symbol… would create the legal precedent, for instance, to place an equally large or larger permanent Latin cross on Capitol grounds,” wrote Dan Barker and Annie Laurie Gaylor, co-presidents of the Madison, Wisconsin group. Gaylor is the daughter of Anne Nicol Gaylor, author of Abortion Is A Blessing. Barker said that the Holocaust memorial, as currently proposed, would amount to a “constitutionally problematic endorsement of religion.”

  69. This is some slick politikin’! Not only is he jabbing the front runners, he is endearing himself with moderates on the fence. Doubtful he would garner more than 15% in Iowa, but Kudos for the shout out! 😀

“I’m going to be feeling out the opponents the first few rounds, throwing jabs and jabs and, when they’re not looking, right cross and it’s all over,” King said.

He even offered some praise for the Democrat who would be the odds-on frontrunner, provided she decided to run.

King believes the Republicans don’t stand a chance if they put up the wrong candidate against Hillary Clinton.

“I think she’s very strong on foreign policy, and I think that if we nominate someone from our isolationist wing of the party, she’ll destroy them,” King said, putting Sens. Rand Paul and Ted Cruz squarely in the isolationist category.

King also had criticism for another potential Republican 2016 hopeful, Sen. Marco Rubio, R- Fla., who King believed failed to deliver on providing aid to the Northeast in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

“I have a lot of regard for Sen. Rubio, but I have some hard feelings after what he did, voting against aid to New York,” King told ABC News. “[It] shows some narrowness which I’m not over yet.”

That said, King’s issues with the GOP are not only limited to the domestic front. The congressman also thinks Republicans need to participate in a “coherent” foreign policy dialogue and should focus on avoiding “name calling” and “pandering to people’s fears.”

  70. Not too much to report here in S. Florida. Protests were non violent so far and did not seem to gather much attention.

  71. ” The audience beheld the wisdom of Sharpton in a state of rapture.”

Any audience, whether comprised of blacks, whites, Hispanics or a combination thereof, who dthought they “beheld” wisdom in Sharpton, is an audience comprised of dumb-asses.

And that ain’t racist. It’s just a fact. But if anyone chooses to view it as racist, and use it to incite racial tension for their own personal advantage, even if you’re not the POTUS or an old irrelevant race-baiter, feel free…. 🙂

  72. Below, the NYT ombudsman seeks to justify their current practice of reporting only one side of an argument–the side they agree with. The result is the censorship, partisanship and playing loose with the truth that we see every day from that rag. Notice how the ombudsman blames this on the readers, claiming that they really do not want to hear both sides of the argument. The clear implication, then, is that their readers want to NYT to do their thinking for them. If it is fair to call what the NYT does thinking. And for God’s sake spare me the references to journalistic standards. What exists today at NYT is an absence of standards and it is a waste of time to intellectualize about it.
    ————————————————————

“When I wrote about this last fall, I got a lot of agreement from readers; they made it clear that news organizations ought to go out of their way to state established truths when they can and not give equal weight to both sides, if one side clearly represents what is true. (Not everyone, of course, can agree on what the facts are.)

Since then, the resistance to this longtime news-media practice — often done in the name of fairness — has only grown stronger, as it’s become part of a broader discussion about journalistic principles and practices.

In general, The Times tries to avoid letting two sides of a debate get equal time when one of them represents an established truth, or equating two things that aren’t equal.

  73. …as we have been discussing…how any of this got passed and allowed just shows how out of touch and lack of attention our Democratic Congress is paying to what they hell they are doing and passing into law…and where is the freaking Supreme Court in allowing this??

    http://rare.us/story/move-over-nsa-here-comes-the-obamacare-big-brother-database/

Would you trust thousands of low-level Federal bureaucrats and contractors with one-touch access to your private financial and medical information? Under Obamacare you won’t have any choice.

As the Obamacare train-wreck begins to gather steam, there is increasing concern in Congress over something called the Federal Data Services Hub. The Data Hub is a comprehensive database of personal information being established by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to implement the federally facilitated health insurance exchanges. The purpose of the Data Hub, according to a June 2013 Government Accountability Office (GAO) report, is to provide “electronic, near real-time access to federal data” and “access to state and third party data sources needed to verify consumer-eligibility information.” In these days of secret domestic surveillance by the intelligence community, rogue IRS officials and state tax agencies using private information for political purposes, and police electronically logging every license plate that passes by, the idea of the centralized Data Hub is making lawmakers and citizens nervous.

They certainly should be; the potential for abuse is enormous. The massive, centralized database will include comprehensive personal information such as income and financial data, family size, citizenship and immigration status, incarceration status, social security numbers, and private health information. It will compile dossiers based on information obtained from the IRS, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense, the Veterans Administration, the Office of Personnel Management, the Social Security Administration, state Medicaid databases, and for some reason the Peace Corps. The Data Hub will provide web-based, one-stop shopping for prying into people’s personal affairs. UNFREAKINGBELIEVABLE

Not to fear, HHS says, the Data Hub will be completely secure. Really? Secure like all the information that has been made public in the Wikileaks era? These days no government agency can realistically claim that private information will be kept private, especially when it is being made so accessible. Putting everyone’s personal information in once place only simplifies the challenge for those looking to hack into the system.

However, the hacker threat is the least of the Data Hub worries. The hub will be used on a daily basis by so-called Navigators, which according to the GAO are “community and consumer-focused nonprofit groups, to which exchanges award grants to provide fair and impartial public education” and “refer consumers as appropriate for further assistance.” Thousands of such people will have unfettered access to the Data Hub, but there are only sketchy guidelines on how they will be hired, trained and monitored. Given the slap-dash, incoherent way Obamacare is being implemented the prospect for quality control is low. And the Obama administration’s track record of sweetheart deals, no-bid, sole-source contracting and other means of rewarding people with insider access means the Data Hub will be firmly in the hands of trusted White House loyalists.

So if you think the IRS targeting Tea Party groups was bad, just wait for the Obamacare Navigators to be unleashed. “Trust us,” the administration says, no one will abuse the Data Hub. Sure, because that has worked out so well in the past.

  74. The beautify, witty and enduring grandamme of the Washington Press Corps Helen Thomas has slipped the mortal coil. She, the self proclaimed woman of the left, was the idol to such big media luminaries as Ann Curry (who once asked Obama what it is like to be black), and Harry Smith (geek at large) among others. She was the keeper of the flame.

Alas, those outside the Beltway were less sophisticated than their big media betters, and for lack of that sophistication were inclined to take a less charitable view of this raging anti Semite. On that sad subject, the video in the link below shows Helen at her best, suggesting that the Jew in Israel are occupiers and should go back to Germany, Poland and the United States. (Question: why is it that so many leftists are anti-Semitic?)

Of all the eulogies heaped upon this old witch by big media, the best of all was the one she bestowed upon herself. She declared to the world that she censored herself for fifty years as a reporter, but at the ripe old age of 80, and in the employ of Herst, it was possible for her to wake up every morning and ask herself honestly, who will I hate today. As Ed Drisol pointed out by answering that question, she brought her career to an abrupt and long overdue end.

Today big media mourns her passing, almost as much as they mourn the passing of that fat pumpkin headed seeker of wisdom and truth Timmy Russert. May both of them rot in hell, jointly and severally.

  78. Once again we are a Powerline “pick of the day”. Thanks Powerline.

    http://www.powerlineblog.com/

Powerline is one of the most influential and widely read political blogs (from a right perspective). Their “picks” are a good variety of commentary worth reading. They can be found at the top of the page below the masthead.

Besides our article the other “picks” today reference ObamaCare opposed by Mike Lee, Obama’s history bullsh*t, Cuba and Castro, etc. Worth regularly checking out.

  79. Here’s a fun example of a Powerline “pick”:

    http://dailycaller.com/2013/07/20/mike-lee-threatens-every-procedural-mechanism-including-filibuster-to-stop-obamacare/

Mike Lee threatens ‘every procedural mechanism,’ including filibuster, to stop Obamacare

On Friday’s broadcast of Derek Hunter’s Baltimore WBAL 1090AM radio program, Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee made an appearance to promote his new book, “Why John Roberts Was Wrong About Healthcare.” During that appearance, Lee let it be known he would be going all out to prevent President Barack Obama’s 2010 health care reform law, otherwise known as Obamacare, from being funded. [snip]

Hunter asked Lee if he would go as far as to filibuster the upcoming continuing resolution that would fund the federal government if included funding for the health care law.

I’ll utilize every procedural mechanism at my disposal to do it,” Lee said. “I generally don’t signal in advance what procedural maneuvers exactly I’ll use because it’s usually not good strategy. But what I am saying is I will not vote for a continuing resolution that contains funding for further Obamacare implantation and enforcement. So far I have got, I don’t know, 13 or 14 Senate Republicans who have joined me. I think a corresponding effort is starting to be kicked off in the House. And I expect these numbers to grow steadily as Americans realize the president has said he’s not going to implement the law as written. If he’s not going to implement the law, we shouldn’t be forced to fund it.” [snip]

“It’s not lost on me this won’t necessarily be an easy or automatic thing,” Lee added. “But what I am saying is when voters in all 50 states starting learning more about this effort, start learn more about what Obamacare is and how it’s being implemented by this administration, they’re going to want to do anything they can to stop it. They are certainly going to want elected officials in Washington, as many of us who were elected specifically with the charge to stop Obamacare, to do everything in their power to stop it. This is our last chance. This is our last effort to stop it. This is the last opportunity we’re going to have to vote most likely on a continuing resolution before those Jan. 1, 2014 starting deadlines kick in. So we have to refuse to fund it now and the time for doing that is when the current continuing resolution expires on September 30.”

  80. Apart from his bullshit, there is something pedantic and real creepy about this Piers Morgan asshole. Somehow he is a perfect choice for the CNN stable of back shooters, liars, and the wildebeest Candy Crowley. Here pedantic Piers gets his ass handed to him by Larry Elder. How is is that this limey know it all can come over here and suddenly he is the world expert on everything in this country? In that respect, he has something in common with Obama’s senate career.

  81. As you can see above, Piers cannot even keep up with him. There he sits with his little script which is constructed in such a way as to make the guest he wants to destroy look stupid. But Larry refuses to indulge Piers in this little game. So Piers tries a few condescending cheap shots, and then starts nodding nervously, because he cannot control the witness with the script. Left to his own devices, and with no prepared script to lean on, this Limey tabloid writer shows us that he has as much mental give and take as a Scottish terrier watching a rat hole. Or maybe he is just the rat.

  82. wbb, you are spot on about Piers. I think he’s trying to be CNN’s answer to Tingle Thighs. He waxes righteous in agreeing with every ultra-left issue and guest on his show.

On gun control, he became positively rabid. It was about that time that a young man was beheaded by a machete wielding radical on a London street.

Piers is still showing anti-Zimmerman propaganda, as far as I know. No doubt he has been to the area, and is fully informed about all of the various aspects of the case. You can bet that if he knew anything that would cast doubt on his sainted view of the infant boy (by now – he keeps growing younger), Trayvon, he would damn sure keep it to himself. Only report the “facts” that support the preconceived view.

I would rather watch snakes being born ( and I HATE snakes) than to watch Piers, but others in my household are less enlightened on the subject of MSM – not that I haven’t preached a few sermons on the topic. I think they must just be a little dense.

  83. In re. Obama’s role in fomenting the twisting of truth to promote the hyper reaction to the Zimmerman verdict in the black community, beginning at 4:36. The speech Obama made for the ostensible purpose of explaining to whites why blacks are supposed to fear racial profiling, is a lot like the crap he pulled in South Carolina, where he unleashed black bigots to attack Bill and Hillary, while he made a speech and claimed plausible deniability. Today, we do not need his contrived speeches, because there is nothing under the sun worth knowing that this four flusher can teach us. Nothing.

  84. One sensible paragraph from many foolish paragraphs in a letter to DOJ from the ACLU regarding another Zimmerman persecution (pdf file):

    http://www.aclu.org/files/assets/aclu_letter_to_ag_holder_re_gzimmerman_case.pdf

We are writing to clearly state the ACLU’s position on whether or not the Department of Justice (DOJ) should consider bringing federal civil rights or hate crimes charges as a result of the state court acquittal in the George Zimmerman case. Even though the Supreme Court permits a federal prosecution following a state prosecution, the ACLU believes the Double Jeopardy Clause of the Constitution protects someone from being prosecuted in another court for charges arising from the same transaction. A jury found Zimmerman not guilty, and that should be the end of the criminal case.

Yes. You gave me the word I was searching for and could not find. He is self righteous.

To paraphrase David Horowitz, behind every leftist, there is a totalitarian monster trying to jump out of his skin.

And for that to happen, self righteousness is coin of the realm.

In the Declaration of Independence there is those magic words “a decent respect for the opinions of mankind”.

Leftists like Pier have no respect for the opinions of mankind.

The only opinions they respect are their own.

And they persist in those opinions even when they are contradicted by overwhelming evidence.

Faced with cognitive dissonance is their self righteousness.

Lay not that flattering unction to thy soul—Hamlet

What better proof of that can there be than Pier’s reaction to the Zimmerman case.

The problem for society, is self righteous fools like him have the microphone.

Whereupon people listen to him, and are adversely influenced by his mindless tripe.

  86. If Piers were confronted with the above critique, I guarandamntee you he would say this.

Whoever wrote that part about the decent respect for the opinions of mankind, must be a Tea Partier.

Therefore, he is ipso facto either ignorant or malicious, it cannot be otherwise.

He lacks my intellect, my values, and the powdered wig I wear in the bedroom.

Being a limey, I can understand why he would be sensitive about quotations from the Declaration of Independence.

Such as, a decent respect for the opinions of mankind.

I on the other hand have a decent respect for limeys.

Other than the fact that they burned the capital in the War of 1812.

The last good limey we had was Churchill.

What saved him from the fate of the others was not so much that he was descendent from the Duke of Marlborough.

But rather the fact that he was half American.

  87. One more comment on the matter:

The Piers Morgan “interview” was conducted in accordance with their usual template.

Invite a conservative on for under the pretext of discussing the Zimmerman trial.

Select an obscure tweet he made, and focus attention on that one subject.

Demand that the tweet was wrong, and ask the conservative to apologize for what he said.

Larry Elder turned the tables on Piers, which was very frustrating I am sure.

He accused Piers of ignoring the real problem, and proceeded to explain it.

Piers claimed that he was aware of the broader problem, but wanted to focus on the malignant tweet.

Larry accused Piers and his ilk of wanting to keep blacks on the plantation.

Piers had no good answer to that charge.

He knows better than to attempt to defend an indefensible position.

If this were a tennis match, it would be game, set, match, Larry Elder.

What can the party of the weak and befuddled, i.e. the Republicans possibly learn from this tour d force?

Well, for starters, don’t walk into an ambush.

Never again, allow an NBC or CNN affiliate to moderate debates.

    That is numero uno.

Second, when you find yourself in a debate, do not allow the host to follow his cross examination script.

Third, the Gingrich rule, counter attack the talking head for his bias.

    ****************************************

    wbboei…

Larry Elders is from south central Los Angeles…he has had his own radio show on in LA for many years…he has been talking about these things…and more…way before prissy Piers came ‘over here’ to start pontificating to us…

Larry knew how to anticipate and make mince meat out of Piers and his predicable ‘script’ before Piers knew what hit him…love when Piers tries to make excuses by saying Larry is trying to filabuster…when that is what Piers does all the time (as does Matthews and the whole MSNBC crew)…Larry knows the game and is better at it…he is no shrinking violet that yields to domination…

I mentioned earlier I like Larry, used to listen to him all the time when I lived in LA, even when I was campaigning as a Clinton diehard…I do part ways with him when it comes to the Clintons…imho, Larry is not fair to the Clintons and can still be heard taking gratitous shots at them as does Hannity…

  89. A jury found Zimmerman not guilty, and that should be the end of the criminal case.
    ——————————
    Admin:

If we were to examine the legislative history of the federal law, I strongly suspect that its purpose was not to give a different government entity a second bite at the apple, but rather to ensure that when defendants who were motivated by proven racial bias were acquitted by juries, a federal action would lie. We do not need to dwell on the history of all this, because Piers and others have that base covered. The point here is this case does not present that sort of fact pattern, therefore, the prohibition against double jeopardy, who roots go all the way back to the Glorious Revolution of 1688 should be the controlling factor.

Question: will this opinion by the ACLU, a known leftist organization whose founder Roger Baldwin was a pal of Vladimir Lenin, have any impact on the decision of the Holder Justice Department to proceed with a federal case?

The answer to that question depends on their motivation, and whether they think it would be a political asset or liability to do so. Former attorney General Alberto Gonzales, a Bush crony, and by no stretch of the imagination, a great legal mind, suggested that all Holder is looking for is a way to reassure his civil rights allies that there is no case. If that is all there is to it, then the ALCU opinion gives him what he wants, and he will rely on it.

On the other hand, if he is looking to exploit the issue further in preparation for the 2014 elections, then he may decide to keep the cauldron boiling, and to file such a suit, while encouraging the Martin family to pursue the civil case. However, if they go that route, then they are likely to find that the public will learn more about the black child than their type cast narrative can contain. The Bill Whittle video you posted tells that story.

Yes. That is a big part of it. Larry is speaking from the front line of the war which is taking place in the black community. He understands the key difference between constructive incentives and perverse ones. And he also understands the negative influence of the self serving black civil rights leaders who have a vested interest in stirring the pot and who provide terrible role models for black children. And wealthy white liberals, who have no sense of that war from a front line perspective are more concerned about looking compassionate and spending other people’s money, which keeps their Harvard friends in clover, than in solving the problem.

Not only is Piers prissy, he has a streak of the petulant child in him as well.

  91. Elders was superb. Need more civil rights advocates like him and less race baiters
that seem to predominant as the so called voices of black America

  92. ‘James Woods, the veteran actor, slammed President Barack Obama on Twitter this week after the president spoke in the aftermath of the George Zimmerman case. “The race issues in America that have bedeviled this nation for decades could be greatly resolved with JOBS and EDUCATION and SKILLS TRAINING,” he wrote. Later, he added: “Racial integration has worked in the Armed Forces because everyone has a job, gets training in a skill, and MUST respect the rank of others.”His tweets were retweeted hundreds of times….’
    http://m.theepochtimes.com/n3/192481-james-woods-slams-obama-on-twitter-after-trayvon-speech/

    COMMENT: MORE $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

    2. Examine local laws — such as “Stand Your Ground” – and see if they “may encourage the kinds of altercations and confrontations and tragedies that we saw in the Florida case rather than diffuse potential altercations.”

COMMENT: BLACKS ARE MORE OFTEN THE VICTIM OF BLACK CRIME, THEREFORE, AS A RULE, THEY NEED STAND YOUR GROUND LAWS MORE THAN WHITE PERUVIANS DO.

    3. Think about ways to bolster and reinforce African American boys so they do not get caught up in the legal system (as the statistics indicate they are more likely to be).

COMMENT: THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN THOUGHT THROUGH, STARTING WITH DANIEL MOYNAHAN. DRUGS, DELUSION AND THE IMPERIAL CULTURE OF THE SLUM. AND THE OLD CIVIL RIGHTS ESTABLISHMENT WHICH HAS DONE WHAT EVERY BUREAUCRACY KNOWN TO MAN HAS ALWAYS DONE ONCE ITS ORIGINAL MANDATE HAS BEEN ACHIEVED: IT EXPANDS THE MISSION AND INVOKES OLD GHOSTS, SO IT DOES NOT HAVE TO INSTITUTE INTERNAL LAYOFFS. WHAT MIGHT WORK? QUITE POSSIBLY, A LITTLE TOUGH LOVE FROM PARENTS AND EDUCATOR WHO CARE. I WAS PRESENT AT A LECTURE GIVEN BY TOM SOWELL, WHERE HE DESCRIBED THE ALL BLACK HIGH SCHOOL HE ATTENDED WHICH PRODUCED A TREASURE TROVE OF BLACK LEADERS IN ALL WALKS OF LIFE, FROM MEDICINE, TO LAW TO EDUCATION. HE ATTRIBUTED THIS RESULT TO AN EXTRAORDINARY BLACK WOMAN WHO TAUGHT THOSE CHILDREN, AND INSPIRED THEM TO GREATNESS. ALL THAT CHANGED FOR THE WORSE. AFTER SHE RETIRED AND THE LIBERAL I KNOW BETTER THAN YOU DO HARVARD ESTABLISHMENT TOOK OVER, AND TOOK THOSE CHILDREN INTO THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF ENTITLEMENT THINKING. IF YOU EVER HAVE OCCASION TO MEET TOM, I ENCOURAGE YOU TO ASK HIM ABOUT IT, BECAUSE, LIKE LARRY ELDER, AND UNLIKE LEFT WING ESTABLISHMENT PIMP AND PAMPERED PETS OF THE ELITE CLASS, HE UNDERSTANDS THIS PROBLEMS, NOT FORM THE SAFETY OF THE COUNTRY CLUB OR THE RARIFIED ATMOSPHERE OF THE CLASS ROOM BUT FROM THE FRONT LINE, WHERE THE RUBBER MEETS THE ROAD.

    AMEN.

  94. At one time, the Employee Retirement Security Act, i.e. ERISA was known as E–Every, R–Ridiculous, I–Idea, S–Since, A–Adam.

That same acronym could just as easily describe the cloud cuckoo land policies of Obama and his elitist entourage, on such diverse matters as race relations, foreign policy, climate change, health care, immigration.

Uniformly, these policies do not draw their essence from the real world.

On the contrary, they have the smell of the lamp.

This is hardly surprising, given the fact that only 9% of his entourage have a business background.

The lowest percentage of any administration in history.

Mostly they are professors or bureaucrats of a left wing stripe.

And most of them are either black, or have a Harvard education, like him.

And what does he have to show for it?

The reverse Midas touch, i.e. everything he touches turns into shit.

  95. House Republicans say their goal is to repeal President Obama’s health care law, not to present an alternative plan.

“I don’t think it’s a matter of what we put on the floor right now,” said Rep. Greg Walden of Oregon, who heads the party’s campaign committee. He added that what is important is “trying to delay Obamacare.”

His remarks are in response to criticism that the Republican-led House have voted more than three dozen times over the past several years to repeal the law in part or in whole.

Officially, the effort to craft an alternative plan is a work “in progress” and has been since Jan. 19, 2011, according to GOP.gov, a leadership-run website.

But internal divisions, disagreement about political tactics and Obama’s 2012 re-election have resulted in uncertainty about whether Republicans will vote on a plan of their own before the 2014 elections, or if not by then, perhaps before the president leaves office, more than six years after the original promise.

  96. ADMIN: The following quote, from a Republican site, i.e. Red State Blog, is apt:

“It’s not so much that Senator Mary Landrieu (D-Ak) is a bad person, it’s that she’s allied with THE RADICAL CLIQUE THAT HAS HIJACKED THE DEMOCRAT PARTY (emphasis added).”
    —————————————————

    Mary Landrieu: Party Girl

    By: Steve Maley (Diary)

Mary Landrieu is taken to task in this recent op-ed by James Varney of the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Ah, the challenges of being a Blue Senator, the only statewide elected Democrat, in what has become a very Red State. The 2014 elections loom just around the corner.

With Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., “a serious overreach by the Department of Justice” is one thing when it involves her own seat. It’s quite another when it involves her party overlords.

The fact Landrieu tries to serve two masters was thrown into stark relief this month with her actions regarding Thomas Perez, the left-winger confirmed Thursday as Labor Secretary. … On Thursday, Landrieu voted to confirm Perez’s appointment, which passed the Senate on strict party lines after a narrow vote to end a filibuster by opponents.

Why might Perez be less than popular in Louisiana?

In Bossier Parish, the Department of Justice, spearheaded by Perez’s platoons, took a $15,000 grant away from the sheriff’s office’s Young Marines program because participants there voluntarily recited a prayer that mentioned, as prayers are wont to do, “God.” In deciding to strip this paltry support from a popular program, the zealous troops under Perez first sought Sheriff Julian Whittington’s signature on a letter vowing to ban religion and prayer in the program. …

In taking these firm steps to protect the nation, United States prosecutors were acting on zero complaints. Not one.

Sheriff Whittington told Perez’s boys where they could stick their $15,000.

The soitgoesinShreveport blog fleshes out the story:

This issue came about, in part, because the Young Marines Program has been such a success in reforming troubled kids. Because the program was so successful, local judges began ordering troubled kids to the Young Marines Program rather than sending them to jail. Because the YM was never intended as a “diversion program,” the Louisiana Law Enforcement Commission, who partially funds the program through a grant, suggested that the Sheriff’s office establish a new diversion program for court-ordered juveniles.

In December 2012, the Sheriff’s office submitted their grant proposal for the Young Marines funding and in response was told that the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, would not fund the program as long as God or prayer was allowed, even if that prayer was voluntary.

    The offending prayer:

“From this day forward, I sincerely promise, I will set an example for all other youth to follow and I shall never do anything that would bring disgrace or dishonor upon God, my Country and its flag, my parents, myself or the Young Marines. These I will honor and respect in a manner that will reflect credit upon them and myself. Semper Fidelis.”

Hoping to cover her electoral backside, Mary took a brave step and started a petition!

    And, as Varney notes:

Wrapping herself in a flag that might make some of her Democratic colleagues blanch, Landrieu filed her Freedom to Pray Act on July 11.

And that’s really the point of this tale. It’s not so much that Mary Landrieu is a bad person, it’s that she’s allied with the radical clique that has hijacked the Democrat Party. They find even a mild invocation of a nondenominational Supreme Being as objectionable. I’m hard pressed to see the difference between the Young Marines’ prayer and “one Nation under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance, or “In God We Trust” on our currency.

Thank God for Sheriff Whittington and may God bless his charges, the Young Marines. They deserve a relationship with a Higher Power, a power higher than a thug with a gun or the dope dealer on the corner. Higher even than Barack Obama.

    ——————————
Generally speaking, I like a strong mayor system. The problem is, in big cities like Detroit, Chicago, Boston, it breed corruption throughout city government. To combat that problem, there is an alternative model, which create a city manager, hired by the City Council. If the city manager is good, and has the full backing of the counsel, that is an excellent alternative to a strong mayor system. But if the city manager is a weak individual, and if the counsel is dysfunctional then it is the worst alternative, which I have seen. And it does not matter a damned if it is a big city which languishes in the twilight of the industrial age, or a wealthy liberal enclave, it is always impasse.

That said, the black man brought in to serve as city manager in Detroit, Kevin Orr, I think, is his name, appears to be a class act. Listening to his thoughts, I thought to myself, if anyone can get that city on its feet again, he is the man. He is the opposite end of the universe from Obama. Since Obama appears to be in the midst of changing his mind on this, based on his typical cold calculations, Orr may need to kiss the ring, but I will not fault him for that just as long as he does not get carried away, like fat ass Christie did. The bear hug was beyond revolting/

  99. Statism is turning America into Detroit – Ayn Rand’s Starnesville come to life

Look at this description of Detroit from today’s Observer:

What isn’t dumped is stolen. Factories and homes have largely been stripped of anything of value, so thieves now target cars’ catalytic converters. Illiteracy runs at around 47%; half the adults in some areas are unemployed. In many neighbourhoods, the only sign of activity is a slow trudge to the liquor store.

Now have a look at the uncannily prophetic description of Starnesville, a Mid-Western town in Ayn Rand’s dystopian novel, Atlas Shrugged. Starnesville had been home to the great Twentieth Century Motor Company, but declined as a result of socialism:

A few houses still stood within the skeleton of what had once been an industrial town. Everything that could move, had moved away; but some human beings had remained. The empty structures were vertical rubble; they had been eaten, not by time, but by men: boards torn out at random, missing patches of roofs, holes left in gutted cellars. It looked as if blind hands had seized whatever fitted the need of the moment, with no concept of remaining in existence the next morning. The inhabited houses were scattered at random among the ruins; the smoke of their chimneys was the only movement visible in town. A shell of concrete, which had been a schoolhouse, stood on the outskirts; it looked like a skull, with the empty sockets of glassless windows, with a few strands of hair still clinging to it, in the shape of broken wires.
