The Madness Of Hillary Clinton 2016

Update: The quotes of the day are all Hillary Clinton 2016. Not for a second do we believe the political maneuverings of others are frozen in place as the New York Times would have its readers believe.

It’s good to know that one of the co-founders of ReadyForHillary is Allida Black and she remembers: She was at the Democratic National Committee meeting, protesting, when the Michigan and Florida delegates were assigned in a way that helped Obama. Some of her fellow travelers were so angry that they jumped to the McCain campaign, or fed the rumors that the “inadequate black man” was born in Kenya. [The source for the quote “inadequate black man” cannot be found in the Slate article nor in the links within the Slate story. We suppose it is another example of race-baiting from the Obama protection squads of Big Media.]

—————————————————————-

Talk about the Axis of Evil! There is a new “Axis of Evil” on the loose.

Republican David Frum, despised by intelligent Republicans and conservatives is the speechwriter who coined the phrase “Axis of Evil” to describe the danger of terror allies Iran, Iraq, and North Korea in a January 29, 2002 George W. Bush speech. These days David Frum most resembles an Obama lovin’ Hopium Guzzling DailyKook screaming “Stop Hillary!”

Frum + DailyKooks = “Axis of Evil 2016”.

* * * * * *

David Frum is despised by Republicans/conservatives in large part because Frum wants the Republican Party to dump all the issues which arguably give them success. If you are an Obama Dimwit that believes Obama heralds a new age and the death of the Republican Party we suggest you read Obama Dimwit Roland Martin, our two series on the Obama Cult demographics called “Mistake In ’08” and “Barack Obama’s Situation Comedy”. For extra credit you might want to read this year’s Rick Perlstein warnings for Dimocrats (which we will have much for to say about in the coming months and years) in The Nation magazine Part I, Part II, Part III, and the desperate Epilog. Extra-extra credit if you read the always readable Sean Trende’s Why 2012 Postmortems Overstate Republican Woes along with Victor Davis Hanson’s Obama’s Presidency Won’t Stand the Test of Time.

David Frum, not having exhausted his bad advice for Republicans, now offers destructive advice to all. This time Hillary Clinton 2016 is the target of analysis.

Most readers of the Frum article are upset with the atmospherics of Frum essentially calling Hillary Clinton old while not bothering to focus on the older Cat Ballou style drunk called Joe Biden. For us what is mind-numbingly stupid is that David Frum does not seem to understand that for the Democratic Party to be resurrected as a sane functioning political organization that is not a Mao cult of personality Obamination the party has to do precisely what Frum advises against.

This is Frum’s argument:

“Hillary Clinton, a mistake for 2016

Washington (CNN) — Democrats seem poised to choose their next presidential nominee the way Republicans often choose theirs: according to the principle of “next in line.” [snip]

Democrats, by contrast, prefer newcomers. Six of their eight nominees since 1972 had never sought national office before. [snip]

Hillary Clinton is 14 years older than Barack Obama. A party has never nominated a leader that much older than his immediate predecessor. [snip]

Parties have good reasons to avoid reaching back to politicians of prior generations. When they do, they bring forward not only the ideas of the past, but also the personalities and the quarrels of the past.

One particular quarrel that a Hillary Clinton nomination would bring forward is the quarrel over the ethical standards of the Clinton White House — and, maybe even more, of the Clintons’ post-White House careers. [snip]

Yet the biggest risk to Democrats from a Hillary Clinton nomination is not that it would be generationally backward-looking — or that it would reopen embarrassing ethical disputes — but that it would short-circuit the necessary work of party renewal. [snip]

Barack Obama offered another in 2008 with his careful but unmistakable criticism of Clinton-era domestic policies and Hillary Clinton’s Iraq war vote. But if Hillary Clinton glides into the nomination in 2016 on the strength of money, name recognition, and a generalized feeling of “It’s her turn,” then Democrats will forgo this necessary renewal.”

Frum somehow believes that Hillary Clinton 2016 is an “It’s her turn” candidate. That is stupid.

There is a reason, sitting in a living room, that many hear the drumbeats coming through the walls. Walking civil streets one can feel the thumping through brick walls. Underneath the soles of the feet the tribal drums pound. Citizens begin to gather. Citizens begin to organize. Political professionals are welcome but it is a people powered movement. Indeed, as we wrote five years ago to the day “It’s Now A Peoples’ Campaign”:

“It’s Now a Peoples Campaign.

All of us, and Hillary, are fighting the Democratic Party establishment.

All of us, and Hillary, are fighting Big Media.

All of us, and Hillary, are fighting for democratic principles.

It’s now a Peoples Campaign.

How does Barack Obama win the nomination? Barack Obama wins by excluding votes, by NOT counting votes.

How does Hillary Clinton win the nomination? Hillary Clinton wins by including all votes, by COUNTING votes as they were cast.”

David Frum does not understand that the fire this time is to correct a great wrong. It wasn’t a great wrong that harmed Hillary however. It was a great wrong against us and democratic principles that happened in 2008. It is a return to history after a great deviation that flung us into the ditch in 2008. Hillary Clinton 2016 very much echoes what we wrote about in 2007 about being Hillary “READY”.

The Message In One Word

Frum writes about the need for party “renewal”. That is what Hillary Clinton 2016 is. The Democratic Party must be resurrected to compete in the battlefield of ideas not by launching mud balls of Obama style race baiting against the opposition party. A debate about ideas to renew America is needed not Obama race baiting and cult of personality temple worship.

David Frum has somehow missed the news that Barack Obama in 2012 was in great trouble and that the only response he could think of was to bring in then pretend to become – Bill Clinton. Yeah, “racist” Bill Clinton. We don’t believe surrogates can influence a campaign that much. But it was clear to all that Barack Obama did everything possible to praise and promise to be more like Bill Clinton in 2012. Mitt Romney surrendered the “referendum on Barack Obama” campaign strategy and that helped destroy his campaign. But in the end it was lying Obama putting on the political clothes of Bill Clinton that helped him in November 2012. So what the hell is David Frum talking about?

Frum, when he is smart is merely regurgitating what we have written previously:

“Here’s what could happen instead in 2016:

One candidate could seek the Democratic nomination on a platform of keeping faith with the ideals of the pre-presidential Obama: closing Guantanamo, ending targeted killings, and so on.

Another Democrat could run to represent those Democrats who supported Bill Clinton back in the 1990s, and who worry that the Obama administration has drifted too far to the left: spending too much, ignoring budget deficits, getting into too many fights with business.

Yet another could run as a full-throated defender of the Obama legacy, updating the 1988 George H.W. Bush “stay the course” message.”

That’s right, but let’s assign names: The phony candidate and stalking horse who would try to out-Obama Obama would be “Fauxcahontas from Massachusetts” Elizabeth Warren.

Hillary Clinton 2016 is the one to “represent those Democrats who supported Bill Clinton back in the 1990s, and who worry that the Obama administration has drifted too far to the left: spending too much, ignoring budget deficits, getting into too many fights with business”.

The “full-throated” defender of the Obama legacy”? We’ll have to check the mental wards for escapees before we assign that spot to Joe Biden, or Martin O’Malley, or even the lantern jawed Michelle Obama.

The madness of Hillary Clinton 2016 is that eventually the DailyKooks Kult of Obama will team with the David Frums of the world to howl at the moon. It’s already begun. The DailyKooks and the David Fruns are the Axis of Evil we have described before. It’s going to be ugly.

Those chomping at the bit after five years of being in Winter quarters better learn the lessons of 2007/2008. In 2007/2008 this Big Pink bad ass site was all alone in defense of Hillary Clinton. Eventually other sites organized but they were too late in coming. This time Big Pink is not alone.

Anita Finlay asks a question then answers:

“Does Our Current Romance With Hillary Mean an Easier Path for Her in 2016? [snip]

When she ran in 2008, the media (and her own party) treated her as a vile harpy standing in the way of “history.” As if the first woman after 43 male presidents would not make history. We were looking to elect Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces and leader of the free world. Big media was concerned with ankles and cackles, deriding Hillary as a “white b*tch” and “Nurse Ratched.”

Arguably, there are thousands, if not millions, of women and fair minded men who would make a bigger stink if the type of sexist media bullying that Hillary Clinton, and Sarah Palin, experienced were to once again rear its ugly head. But that doesn’t mean it won’t occur. Not unexpectedly, the current media narrative ignores sexism as having had any influence over the outcome in 2008, though respected studies have proven otherwise. [snip]

“Hillary 2016” may or may not turn into a reality, but if her campaign comes to pass, I am not deluded enough to think the fight won’t be just as tough.

We are sure Hillary Clinton will make a decision on seeking the presidency in 2016 after the 2014 elections which will be a referendum on ObamaCares’ corruptions. After November 2014 it will be time to decide on 2016 for the tribes on all sides.

Over the years even some Hillary Clinton supporters from 2008 are too angry with the corruptions of Barack Obama to support Hillary Clinton now. When they look at Hillary, they see Barack. And it is a maddening sight. The old saying if you lie down with dogs you get up with fleas (if you lie down in sh#t don’t be surprised if you stink) is their righteous motto.

Some blame Hillary Clinton for Benghazi deaths, or protection of Barack Obama or blame Hillary Clinton for not openly challenging Barack Obama. Some are so disaffected no Democrat ever will get their votes.

For our part we believe we need a fully functioning Democratic Party and a fully functioning Republican Party that argue policy, programs, and present their ideologies honestly without the distractions of race-baiting or sexism and misogyny – and let the voters decide in honest elections.

We also believe that in 2016 neither Benghazi, the Clinton “ethical standards” Frum is still thumping after suffering defeat upon defeat, Bill’s speech dollars, Chelsea’s apartment, nor Hillary’s hairdo and speaking fees, will matter.

In 2016 the greatest threat to Hillary Clinton is once again Barack Obama – and his legacy of weakness and profligacy. Tie Hillary Clinton to Barack Obama and she loses.

Polls show Hillary Clinton 2016 could even win Texas. Exit polls in 2008 showed that Hillary Clinton would have done better than Barack Obama because she would have won white working class voters along with traditional Democratic base voters. Hillary Clinton 2016, the enemy of the DailyKooks, would mark the resurrection of the Democratic Party if she only gets the nomination. It would be a return to sanity.

What will matter in 2016 is the “center”. If Hillary stays in the center she wins. Hillary spent four years as far from Barack Obama as air travel made possible so she still can make it a convincing argument. If the Republican candidate seizes the center, he or she wins. In either case what matters is that the country win.

    Thank you…

time to get our country back on track…
    …definitely time to have:

oh that will be so liberating for America and a time to get back to real work

    as for the sexism…

we have had over four years now focused on racism, the race card…and gay rights…

by the time we get past 2014 and soldiering on to 2016…it will be high time for women to grab that torch and light a fire to any mysogynists and sexists that dare start in with all their lame remarks and attempts…

    Chris Matthews beware…

…for men…and women that remain out of touch and dare to stop a confident, experienced and powerful woman…a Hillary Clinton…you better get out of the way…

If Hillary were a new kid on the block, in just her first term as a senator…I would agree with you that she might feel weak enough to think she needs every last Kook vote to win.

She actually WON the popular vote in 2008, while she ripped Barry’s inexperience to shreds. Now Hillary has the hardworking SOS added to her resume, giving her the best grades in all of politics. Plus, she has the love of her life, the real leader of the Democratic party at her side, plus blue collar workers, women that have been under the bus since 2008, Independents and even some Republican’s that see her as the best candidate in 2016.

Hillary doesn’t need to, and I believe she will not pretend to follow Obama’s stupid policies…stupid is as stupid does…and our girl Hillary, is too brilliant to take the chicken way out by following Berry.

She got out of being SOS after his first term for a reason, and not just to get some sleep. She couldn’t represent his dimwitted polities and false promises. IMHO 😉

President Obama today said he was “saddened” by the death of film critic Roger Ebert: [snip]

Presidential statements of sadness are a rare posthumus honor, and whether a film critic should, shall we say, make the cut, is arguable.

But Obama still has said nothing about the death of Chris Kyle, the much decorated Navy SEAL who was the most prolific sniper in U.S. history. Having sent at least 160 Iraqi bad guys to a meeting with their Maker, Kyle surely did more for this country than Mr. Ebert, much as I enjoyed his reviews myself.

“Look, I’m struggling here,” said Cramer. “I’m struggling to find anything good about it. I’m trying to figure out exactly how worried we were three, four weeks ago. The president was on TV pretty regularly saying that look, there’s going to paralysis in the country. We did believe that sequester could shut down this country. Maybe it’s under that guise that we got this terrible number. But it is a terrible number. It’s really kind of amazing that–frankly, it looks like it’s a permanent unemployed level.

Dow Drops 100 After Jobs Data, Dragged by Techs; Vix Spikes 10%

Stocks eased off their worst levels but still remained in the red Friday, with major averages poised to close lower for the week, pressured by a disappointing March unemployment report in addition to ongoing jitters over North Korea. [snip]

The CBOE Volatility Index (VIX), widely considered the best gauge of fear in the market, jumped above 14.

All key S&P sectors were firmly in negative territory, led by techs and financials.

U.S. employers hired at the slowest pace in nine months in March, adding just 88,000, while the unemployment rate notched lower to 7.6 percent, largely due to people dropping out of the work force, according to the Labor Department. The unemployment rate is the lowest since December 2008, while the labor force participation rate is at the lowest since 1979. Analysts polled by Reuters had expected a gain of 200,000.

Earlier this week, private sector employment and jobless claims data indicated weakness in the labor market. Reports on the manufacturing and services sectors also disappointed.

“This jobs number is going to have to revise GDP lower—at the end of the day, if people aren’t making money, they’re not spending. So this number has huge ramifications,” said Alan Valdes, director of floor operations at DME Securities. “More striking is the fact that this may be the new norm.

  7. Bad job numbers…don’t worry.

The Obama organizing for bullshit PAC or what ever it is, is going to pay more than $20/hour to folks in unions, in the health care field and community organizers to ‘sell’ the Hell Care scam to the public.

Millions of dollars that the DNC would collect to support Dems running for office in 2014 will be siphoned off for this little adventure, and maybe it will prop up, artificially, the jobs numbers. I posted this article somewhere on the last thread.

  8. Fiscal stimulus taxpayer dollars scammed for Obama capitalist cronies:

    http://www.latimes.com/business/autos/la-fi-hy-fisker-layoff-staff-20130405,0,6931960.story

Struggling carmaker Fisker Automotive laid off 160 employees, most of its staff, Friday as it struggles to reach a financing deal that would save the maker of the Karma hybrid sports car.

The Anaheim company dismissed all but a core group of about 40 workers needed to keep the business running as it continues talks with three Chinese businesses considering buying or investing in Fisker, according to individuals familiar with Fisker’s strategy. [snip]

One laid-off employee said workers were told Thursday night there would be a meeting Friday. At the meeting, they were given their accrued vacation pay and dismissed. There was no severance pay. This comes after the automaker made workers take a one-week furlough last month to preserve cash.

Fisker has been working for months to raise $500 million so it could restart production of the Karma, its only model, which was built in Finland. Fisker stopped making the $110,000 plug-in hybrid last year after A123 Systems Inc., the maker of its lithium-ion battery, filed for bankruptcy.

The company ran into a cash crunch after the federal government froze an Energy Department loan. Fisker is supposed to make the first payment on some of $192 million it borrowed from the government later this month.

  11. From Charlie Cook who usually has only good things to say about Obooberama (and takes every opportunity still to say stupid things about the very successful Bill Clinton who had a very good second term with super high approval ratings):

    http://www.nationaljournal.com/columns/cook-report/the-second-term-jinx-20130404

    The Second-Term Jinx

Ike, Nixon, Reagan, Clinton—presidents historically fumble the end of an eight-year term. With a hostile Congress, Obama faces a similar fate. [snip]

So, just for the sake of argument, let’s say Republicans pick up two to four Senate seats, shaving the Democratic advantage to 53-47 or 51-49. In the House, let’s suppose that net changes will be limited to single digits, nowhere near the 17 seats that Democrats need to capture a majority. Under that scenario, given Washington’s highly polarized political environment, it’s hard to see how Obama can move major legislation through Congress. His last two years in office are likely to look more like his middle four years than his first two. How can he avoid that fate?

In the wake of what economist Sid Jones calls the longest, deepest, and most widespread downturn since the Great Depression, the most plausible course for the next few years is economic growth. That could work to Obama’s benefit, particularly if the public associates the improvement with his policies.

Legislatively speaking, much is possible but little is probable. Tax reform, for example, is a concept that many Democrats and Republicans embrace in theory and hope to achieve in this Congress, but actually working out a deal for the first time since 1986 (the last major tax-reform bill) would be incredibly difficult. A president has something close to a free hand only in foreign policy. Indeed, Obama has arguably been most successful in that international arena in which Congress has little say. But in the absence of a war, it’s hard for a president to make a major foreign policy mark (although Reagan and George H.W. Bush both received credit for helping to end the Cold War).

Every second-term president becomes consumed by the question of how his presidency will be remembered. For Obama, other than a pivot toward foreign policy and hope that the economy improves, it’s not obvious what he can count on to shape his legacy.

  12. Frum is badly damaged goods. Ironically, his mother Barbara Frum was a leading voice in Canadian journalism prior to her untimely death. Used to watch her on Canadian TV. If Jan is still reading this blog, then she will remember as well. I for one miss her contributions and hope she is well. Same goes for ABM 92, Molly Richards, Emjay on so many others who were contributors to this blog in past years. If Hillary does decide to seek the nomination, I hope we hear from them.

I had dinner at the house of friends who were watching the spittle spewing albino Chrissy Matthews doing his thing. They told me he would support Hillary and I told them that Hillary would never go on his program. I still remember him begging her to do that and her laughing at him and refusing. One thing I have noticed. Matthews cannot get anyone but assholes like Obama loving screeds like Cynthia McFadden and Eugene Robinson to come on his show. It is like Gresham’s law: the bad money drives out the good. Centrists and conservative boycott him, as well they should. Hence, he is reduced to preaching to the choir.

A very accurate assessment. The question is whether a functional party system bereft of racism and sexism , and dishonest elections is possible any more. Sadly, I fear that we have crossed the Rubicon. The only hope of the American People is the rise of a party which will challenge the status quo and represent the people rather than the well heeled special interests that infest the current system.

  17. I listened to a long tape of Bill Jacobsen at Legal Insurrection addressing students at his alma mater Hamilton College about the perils of being a conservative and expressing your views on campus and blogs, as he most certainly does. According to him it is a war zone, and conservatives are bitterly attacked on all fronts whereas liberals are not. College Professors have told him that they would like to contribute to his blog Legal Insurrection but they fear that if they do they will be castigated and denied tenure. Bill is a former liberal turned conservative, but that fact cuts no ice with the young barbarians of the left that we see today. He tells the conservative students at Hamilton College to be careful and circumspect in what they say, but not be afraid to express their views because the future belongs to them, whereas he and many of the rest of us are retired, or approaching retirement. I wondered about that overnight–why the left has been so successful in stifling the public debate, much like the right did during the McCarthy era. No doubt much of it has to do with big media who does this very thing, and drives serious debate out of the marketplace. But I wonder whether part of it too isn’t the fact that the younger generation sees limited economic opportunity for themselves, which is contrary to the American tradition where parents worked to make sure their children had a better life than they did/

Consider this analysis by Byron York of Marco Rubio diminishing his chances for 2016 because of the fact that he is trying to get something done. York is bringing up a harsh truth that after Obama the way to get elected is to do nothing but just dedicate yourself to self advancement and self promotion – the people, the country be damned. York better be wrong if America is to get back to sanity:

    http://washingtonexaminer.com/byron-york-will-immigration-reform-kill-rubios-presidential-chances/article/2526314?utm_source=Washington%20Examiner:%20Opinion%20Digest%20-%2004/05/2013&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Washington%20Examiner:%20Opinion%20Digest

“Look at the only lawmaker who has become president in the last half-century. Barack Obama did almost nothing in his brief time in the Senate. His career in the world’s greatest deliberative body consisted mainly of showing up, becoming immediately dissatisfied and looking for something better.

Obama never took a leading role crafting any piece of momentous legislation. And some of the things he did do, like voting against raising the debt ceiling and voting to filibuster a Supreme Court nominee, came back to bite him when he moved into the White House. But mainly, Sen. Obama held to the same arms-length, disengaged philosophy that led him to vote “present” 129 times in the Illinois legislature.

If the plan was to move up, it worked spectacularly well.

On the other hand, look at the most recent senator who ran for president with a record of passing big legislation. John McCain led a crusade for campaign finance reform and tried hard, if unsuccessfully, to enact immigration reform in 2006 and 2007. That kind of work forces a lawmaker to take stands, which can lead to making enemies, which can lead to trouble in his own party. It doesn’t lead to the White House. [snip]

…When it comes to running for president, voters don’t much care about bills passed and votes taken. Barack Obama knew that instinctively. Will Rubio learn the same lesson from immigration reform?”

Hard work is now an impediment to public office. Only flim flam con men need apply.

  20. Where the current political system is concerned I am neither a theist or an agnostic. I am an unmitigated, unabashed atheist. I no longer believe in it enough to campaign or enough to even vote, unless a candidate emerges who will oppose the special interests who corrupt the system. Otherwise, for me at least, it is a fools errand. I gave my heart and soul to the Hillary campaign in 2008 and it did no good. None. Once burned twice smart. So when people who voted for Obama come to me now excited that Hillary may run, and expect me to be elated that for them wisdom comes late as opposed to not at all, and tell me things like you and I will be there on the hustings campaigning for Hillary, I tell them what do you mean we pale face. My days on the campaign trail are over—I have seen the elephant.

Ironically, I am dealing with a case of this in my business at the present time. In one case, I am trying to help a municipality where the problems are well defined, the remedial strategies are clear and the only problem is the politics. In another case, I am trying to help introduce new technology which would solve a major environmental issue and save an endangered specie. Again, politics is the problem–even though all sides would benefit from a solution–but are too invested in fighting withe each other. Politics uber alles. Other than that Mrs Lincoln, how was the play.

  22. If I were George Soros, and were looking at the world like it was my oyster, the question I would be asking is why is it that resource rich countries like Saudi Arabia or Venezuela do not have productive societies, but resource poor countries like Japan, and Taiwan do. Is it simply a question of the ruling class, or is it that some societies have developed productive market economies and invest in education, infrastructure etc. so they can compete in the global market whereas others simply do not. I believe the latter reason is a big part of it. And then I look at our own society, which does not make that kind of investment, but invests in military hardware, and I realize that China does not need to go to war with the United States. All it needs to do is stop buying our T-bills. Obama is a dead head, and he does not gasp the significance of this. But Hillary does. I wonder whether any Republicans do.

The other reason I remember that primary was because I lost my dad’s dog tags from World War II at the celebration that followed. I speak of old unhappy far off things, etc.

  25. In weekly address, Obama calls his budget proposal a “compromise I’m willing to accept” http://j.mp/16DAvH8 by @CMunozTheHill REPLY: 1) Rex A. Nagle@RexANagle19m
@thehill @cmunozthehill This is laughable! Mr. Obama unilaterally puts out plan & declares it a compromise! It is a contradiction in terms.

    BOULWARISM . . .

This principle is a bargaining tactic whereby the employer researches the probable outcome of collective bargaining, and the information is used to make a firm settlement offer to union on a TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT it basis. It is a type of offer or counter offer that is not meant to be negotiated. The outcome of this method is that there will not be a real negotiation. Hence, this method of negotiation is considered as an UNFAIR LABOR PRACTICE by the National Labor Relations Board.

  26. From Milbank at Washington Post:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/dana-milbank-president-obamas-feeble-salary-gesture/2013/04/05/91ebea48-9d73-11e2-a941-a19bce7af755_story.html?

Federal workers face unpaid furloughs because of the automatic spending cuts known as sequestration. That’s a serious economic hardship for many middle-class families, and whether or not Obama intended for it to happen, it’s a direct result of a bill he signed into law.

And so the White House announced that Obama, “to share in the sacrifice being made by public servants,” would return 5 percent of his salary to the Treasury. The gesture, matched by several Cabinet members, was meant to be roughly the same percentage by which domestic agencies are being cut. But the amount — $20,000 of his $400,000 salary — is so little for a man made wealthy by his political fame that it comes across as patronizing. [snip]

For a man worth millions and soon to be worth tens of millions of dollars, $20,000 is not much of a sacrifice. [snip]

During World Wars I and II, there were “dollar-a-year men” who left lucrative private-sector careers to serve their country in Washington. If Obama really wants to share in the furloughed workers’ “sacrifice,” he should follow that honorable example and give back all but a dollar of his $400,000 salary. When he leaves office, he’ll be able to earn it back with a couple days’ work.

A dollar is still more than Obama is worth.

Wbboei, as you so glumly write (“The question is whether a functional party system….. is possible any more. Sadly, I fear we have crossed the Rubicon.”) after Obama a fully functioning party system must be restored but it is going to be tough if not impossible.

    ***********************************************************************************

I can appreciate and partially agree with these sentiments expressed…

however, call me an idealist…but I will say that something needs to be said for the kind of leader in charge…the character of the person leading…

from my pov…we knew prior to 2008 what we were getting…nothing was going to change the man who just voted ‘Present’…the man with an insatiable need for attention and fawning …and the only thing that happened is he got worse…and we suffered the consequences…

Bill Clinton was a different kind of president…with all the unfortunate personal mistakes he made…Bill Clinton was still a leader and got things done…he got things done during the time, the mood of the country, and the power structure during his time…

…I firmly believe things today would be much different had Hillary Clinton been elected instead of BO…her style, her approach, her experience, her intelligence, her ego are completely opposite than the leader, BO, that we got…

I will still hold out hope that if Hillary runs and is elected…she will get right down to work…she will work with all sides of the isle…she will cut through alot of the BS…she will work on the economy and focus on jobs…and she will revamp O’care so it does not further destroy our economy and force businesses to hire even less people…

she will not need the constant ego gratification that BO, and to a lesser degree BC need…she will be focused on results

I think Hillary could bring forward a meaningful renewal and I think she is uniquely positioned to do that…

…three years is a long way to go…so nothing is written in stone…I hope she gets her chance…and meeting with destiny…

  28. …and frankly, there is something LIBERATING about Hillary if she is elected at 69 years old…

she is less likely to have to worry about special interests, etc…I think she would be freer at her later age, as opposed to being much younger…to really try to enact policies that would work for the benefit of the country…

at that stage she does not need to care what the Daily Kooks, Chris M and the rest of her critics think…she can go forward with purpose…noble purpose…

she could be free to do the right thing…and the first woman president to do it

  29. Due to very serious family problems I haven’t have too many really happy days for awhile, but today is warm enough to put on my Hillary t-shirt again that always makes me feel much better and gives me hope. It is the shirt that was sold to help pay off her campaign debt.

For everyone who’s ever been counted out
but refused to be knocked out
and for everyone who works hard and never gives up,
    this one is for YOU!

It still applies to Hillary and I am proud to be alive in the time of this wonderful woman.

May she still have the courage to run and finally be our First Woman President, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

  31. dear shadowfax…I hope your family matters will improve very soon and you can feel happy again…

…it is really hard to be happy when we feel our hearts are breaking…I hope things will turn much better for you soon…

  32. The Orator of the Ozark, whom Nixon called the greatest orator he ever heard—Congressman Dewey Short (R-Mo):

“I deeply and sincerely regret that this body has degenerated into a supine, subservient, soporific, superfluous, supercilious, pusillanimous body of nitwits, the greatest ever gathered beneath the dome of our National Capitol, who cowardly abdicate their powers and, in violation of their oaths to protect and defend the Constitution against all of the Nation’s enemies, both foreign and domestic, turn over these constitutional prerogatives, not only granted but imposed upon them,to a group of tax-eating, conceited autocratic bureaucrats a bunch of theoretical, intellectual, professorial nincompoops out of Columbia University, at the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue who were never elected by the American people to any office and who are responsible to no constituency. These brain trusters and ‘new dealers’ are the ones who wrote this resolution, instead of the Members of this House whose duty it is, and whose sole duty it is, to draft legislation.” — Delivered in the U.S. House of Representatives on January 23, 1935.

“I know that without change there would be no progress, but I am not going to mistake mere change for progress.”

  37. Shadowfax

I also hope that your little one’s illness continues to subside. you and yours are in our thoughts and prayers…We are family here. 🙂

  38. Shadowfax, you’ve been a wonderful constant in my life, and no doubt you are the same for your child of whom you speak. May blessings flow abundantly to you both at this time.

  39. Shadowfax, you have posted here a long time now. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your struggles. I am glad that posting here gives you some relief, and even some sunshine. Keep on Keeping on.

  40. First, Shadowfax, I hope your world will improve real soon, dear one. You more than deserve it to do just that.

Reason I am posting today is because I wanted to take a step back and just watch for a few weeks. I am getting very worried because of a pattern I am seeing and I fear for Hillary.

The same media that smeared and sabatoged Hillary are doing it again, but in a different fashion. They right away after the 2012 election, and I do mean right away, declared her the front-runner for 2016. There hasn’t been a week without a story about how it is hers and that she will clear the field.

    Sound familiar?

Anyone remember how the media pulled the rug out from under her to go for Obama? Anyone here NOT remember this?

Here is what is really happening. The media will continue this meme all of this year and about halfway into 2014. And that is when it will stop. And it will stop because the far-left of the Democrat party will reveal its true choice for 2016….Elizabeth Warren.

The media will then tell the voters that Hillary has never stopped campaigning since 2012 (even though it is the media that is doing all this “campaigning”) and will go with the “she thinks she is owed the nomination” crap.

Warren will have about as much experience as Obama had when he ran (a few years in the Senate)so the media will squelch any Warren is unqualifed attack. Democrats, who are more interested in being “the first” rather than supporting “the best”, will rally to Warren and the need for a woman for POTUS. Hillary will be drummed out as “the old guard” and Warren as the one with the “fresh ideas”. Doesn’t matter if the ideas are correct, just that they are fresh.

Before you all say I am nuts about this, just keep remembering 2008. The media and Dem hierarchy are using the same playbook.

Hillary needs to get off the public stage now, write that book and relaunch no sooner than Oct. 2015.

I don’t want the “freshest” I want the best. I want Hillary in 2016.

  41. Elizabeth Warren might be able to just about pull off a senate win in deep blue Massachusetts…she does not have the cache or power to pull the nomination away from Hillary and/or win a national election…

the difference between O as the first AA winning is vastly different than Elizabeth Warren becoming the first woman president…

    ************************

as for the media…they are already giving Hillary the “back handed compliments” read Arianna and Maureen Dowdie…their true colors are already showing…

Hillary should do what she wants…not go sit with cobwebs, yes write her book on foreign policy as has been made known…

I do think she should structure some daily time for herself, her health, her exercise, etc…that’s not because she is a woman…it is because anyone in their 60’s has to take care of themselves…it is just the law of nature…and at the pace she will have to endure investing in her health and well being will pay off down the road…

  42. Shadowfax…I am sorry to hear it is your child…I hope things continue to get better and better each day…

…it is hard enough when it is our parents…I can only imagine how difficult it can be for you when it is your child…

  43. I really appreciate so many kind words and especially the prayers of support and healing.

    [Tears…]
    Thanks to all of you.

  44. VotingHillary, this is today’s Maureen Dowd garbage:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/07/opinion/sunday/dowd-can-we-get-hillary-without-the-foolery.html?pagewanted=2&_r=1

Did she learn, from her viper’s nest and money pit of a campaign in 2008, how to manage an enterprise rather than be swamped by rampant dysfunction? Did she learn, when she wrapped herself in an off-putting and opaque mantle of entitlement in the primary, that she’s perfectly capable of charming reporters and voters if she wants to, without the obnoxious undertone of “I’m owed this”?

Even top Democrats who plan to support Hillary worry about her two sides. One side is the idealistic public servant who wants to make the world a better place. The other side is darker, stemming from old insecurities; this is the side that causes her to make decisions from a place of fear and to second-guess herself. It dulls her sense of ethics and leads to ends-justify-the-means wayward ways. This is the side that compels her to do anything to win, like hiring the scummy strategists Dick Morris and Mark Penn, and greedily grab for what she feels she deserves.

If Obama is the kid who studies only on the night before and gets an A, Hillary is the kid who studies all the time, stays up all night and does extra credit work to get the A. She doesn’t know how not to drive herself into the ground.

As Carl Bernstein wrote in his Hillary biography, “A Woman in Charge,” her insecurities grew from her herculean effort to win paternal praise: “When Hillary came home with all A’s except for one B on her report card, her father suggested that perhaps her school was too easy, and wondered half-seriously why she hadn’t gotten straight A’s. Hillary tried mightily to extract some unequivocal declaration of approval from her father, but he had tremendous difficulty in expressing pride or affection.”

Hillary was an indefatigable secretary of state — she logged 956,733 diplomatic frequent-flier miles — and a star ambassador, especially on women’s issues. But many experts feel, as John Cassidy wrote in The New Yorker, that, compared with the work of more geopolitical secretaries, her “signature achievements look like small beer.”

Still, the job allowed her to get out of her husband’s codependent shadow and develop a more authentic aura of inevitability. President Obama allowed his former rival to take Hillaryland into the State Department and then build it out, burnishing her own feminist brand around the world.

The idea of Hillary is winning, a grand historical gender bender: first lady upgrading to president. But is the reality winning? The Clintons have a rare talent for finding puddles to step in. Out of public life, can she adapt and make the leaps needed, in a world changing at a dizzying tempo, to keep herself on top?

Her challenge is to get into the future and stay there, adding fresh people and perspectives and leaving the Clinton mishegoss and cheesiness in the past.

The real question about Hillary is this: When people take a new look at her in the coming years, will they see the past or the future — Mrs. Clinton or Madam President?

The crazed left of the DailyKooks and women like Dowd and Oprah have yet to figure out how to stop Hillary Clinton 2016. But they have already begun to try.

“She’s obviously running,” Huffington said on ABC’s “This Week.”

She added, however, that Clinton is “sending a bad message to women” in emerging back on the public stage so soon after her retirement.

“What I was hoping is that she would have been taken more time to become what she called, herself, ‘untired,'” Huffington said.

“She hasn’t given herself that time and I think that’s sending a bad message to women, that the only way to succeed…is to drive yourself [into the] ground. After all, she collapsed. She had a concussion,” she added.

  46. Well, it looks like Barack Obama will soon have a new Muslim outreach Czar:

    http://www.mediaite.com/online/gitmo-prison-guard-converts-from-atheism-to-islam-after-seeing-detainees-wake-each-day-and-smile/

Trained killers are such great role models!

CNN has an amazing story out of Guantanamo Bay about an American atheist prison camp guard that converted to Islam after spending extensive time talking to with some of the English speaking prisoners there.

Army Specialist Terry Holdbrooks arrived at Gitmo 2003 as “an angry, nearly atheistic 19-year-old MP and by the time he left a year later he was a practicing Muslim. Holdbrooks was amazed at how the detainees “could wake up each day and smile” even though they were locked away in a prison camp with little hope of freedom.

So all of this got him thinking: “Obviously there’s something more to Islam than I had been told.”

Like anybody curious about faith he started to inquire about it. Holdbrooks, a bit disenfranchised with his superiors and fellow soldiers, started speaking for hours with detainees about Islam. One even gave him a copy of the Islamic holy book, the Quran, to study and it led him to change his way of life.

When he approached one of the prisoners about converting he was met with a warning that it would forever change his life. “You understand that if you become a Muslim your unit is going to look at you differently, your family, your country…you understand…your country is going to look at you in a way that isn’t going to be good. It’s going to make things difficult for you,” he was told.

Since he converted Holdbrooks has left military service and become an outspoken opponent of the camp at Guantanamo Bay.

700 Retired Special Ops Calling For Select Committee To Investigate Benghazi Attack
Seven hundred retired Military Special Operations professionals from the organization “Special Operations Speaks” sent a letter to the House of Representatives urging members to support H.Res 36, which will create a House Select Committee to investigate last September’s deadly terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya.
“It appears that many of the facts and details surrounding the terrorist attack which resulted in four American deaths and an undetermined number of American casualties have not yet been ascertained by previous hearings and inquiries,” the letter states. It continues further, ”Additional information is now slowly surfacing in the media, which makes a comprehensive bipartisan inquiry an imperative. Many questions have not been answered thus far.” The letter puts forth over twenty unanswered questions the select committee should address.

  49. I was a guest at a dinner party last night in the East Hampton area. One couple, ardent Obama supporters who campaigned for him, claim to also know Hillary personally. He became quite agressive claiming that Hillary had no problems with the primary in 2008 and “knew” that she had lost fair and square, that there was no primary fraud and that people really hate Hillary. He claimed that Hillary did not get more votes than O and that no Obama votes were given to O and on and on. Normally as a guest in someone’s home I would avoid conflict, however, I told him what I thought, that O was a fraud and a disgrace and that it was impossible to talk with someone who wouldn’t acknowledge hard facts. I didn’t speak to them for the rest of the evening and it was a very small party.
The host has no respect for O either and I don’t know if many people noticed the nasty exchange, but these o worshippers need to understand that O is hated by many. We are going to have to be quite forceful to get them in touch with some kind of reality.

However it will be near impossible. The use of the media for brainwashing is quite unbelievable. Now refusing to call those who stay and work in this country illegal “illegal immigrants” is really quite dangerous. Anyone who lives in an area overwhelmed with illegal workers is paying the price. The majority of Americans want this theft of our resources stopped. Middle class Americans are paying the price for illegal immigration and the cessation of immigration quotos and law. Local slilled workers here have had their livlihoods taken awaay while the wealthy enjoy their cheap immigrant labor. We fight to keep our neighborhood from becoming a slum while school taxes have doubled and access to quality healthcare has bee greatly reduced.

  52. Delays in implementing popular pieces of ObamaCare are hurting it with Democrats.

Ahead of an election year in which Republicans promise to make healthcare an issue again, Democrats are criticizing the White House for delaying policies that could help build support for the unpopular law.

Democrats complained this week about a one-year delay in a key program designed to help small businesses — a central selling point for the healthcare law that now won’t be in place when voters head to the polls next year.

“Senate Republicans will have the opportunity to campaign against Obamacare’s rising health care costs, burdensome paperwork and broken promises and could use it to motivate voters against Democrat candidates, especially vulnerable ones in red states,” Republican strategist Ron Bonjean said.

HHS has delayed by one year a provision that would have allowed small businesses in most states to choose from multiple policies for their workers. Although a handful of states will see increased competition next year, most will have just one plan to choose from until 2015.

“I deeply respect and appreciate all of the admiration and respect and gratitude for my mother’s service,” Chelsea Clinton said. “As a daughter, I very much want her to make the right choice for herself. I know that will be the right choice for our country, and I’ll support her in whatever she chooses to do.”

From Charlie Cook who usually has only good things to say about Obooberama (and takes every opportunity still to say stupid things about the very successful Bill Clinton who had a very good second term with super high approval ratings):
    &&&&&&
“In the wake of what economist Sid Jones calls the longest, deepest, and most widespread downturn since the Great Depression, the most plausible course for the next few years is economic growth. That could work to Obama’s benefit, particularly if the public associates the improvement with his policies.”

    &&&&&&&&&&&&&

Hope for “economic growth” (and to be clear, I mean wide spread job growth, not funny numbers that we see produced every month) is practically non-existent given that Obama’s “signature bill” (his ticket to Mt. Rushmore), Obamacare, is one of the primary causes for companies not wanting to hire, and horde cash instead.
