“And Can I Get A Hot Tub?” – Is Ted Cruz Reading HillaryIs44????

Update: Powerline disagrees with much of what we wrote in our article. We think the attacks on Republican/conservative “minorities” and especially against Rubio and Cruz are racially motivated and we explain why HERE.

As we wrote, and Legal Insurrection documents yet again Obama Dimocrats and Big Media shout “RACISM!” at the drop of a hat and uncover “racism” any where they desire to do so.

[Thanks to Legal Insurrection for making this article “Post of the Day”.]

—————————————————————–

We don’t have an Obamaphone nor have we seen any of those magical Obama Unicorns. But today we feel like the guy that gets the hot tub in that State Farm commercial.

In our last article (and don’t miss the update to the article before that one) we smiled when an openblogger at AceOfSpades kinda sorta wrote what we have been writing about lately.

Today, the race-baiting to counter the race-baiting begins. Thanks goes to a Latino smart guy – Ted Cruz: Let’s face it, Democrats are attacking Rubio partly because he’s Latino.

Ted Cruz gets what we have been writing and focusing on after the disaster which was the 2012 elections. Smart Republicans/conservatives should follow his lead (and the advice of that openblogger guy at that self-described moron hangout AoS).

Obama Dimocrats know that the minute they shout “RACISM!” it appears to the gullible (a.k.a. “low information voters” and especially low information voters who don’t realize the low levels of information they possess even as they believe they are well versed on issues when what they are actually well versed in is the entertainments at MSNBC) that they are the ones against racism. Republicans almost never shout “RACISM!” even when black Republicans or other “minority” Republicans are attacked and that translates to many low information voters believing that Republicans don’t care about, or applaud, racism.

Most voters have no idea that Republicans have a great many “minority” leaders who wield real power. There are no Indian-American governors who are Obama Dimocrats but the Republicans have two. Latino governors? At least two Republican Latino governors are in office. But does the general public know any of this? No. Republicans rather go with the strategy of treating people as people not representatives of groups. Republicans want to be high-minded and above such tawdry unpleasantness such as skin color and ethnicity. That’s one of the reasons why they lose.

Consider the vileness known as Jesse Jackson Jr. Remember how this creep race-baited Hillary Clinton after Hillary showed some emotion in New Hampshire? The crook Jesse Jackson Jr. said Hillary never cried during Hurricane Katrina. Hillary Clinton took the high road and look what happened.

On the day before the November 6, 2012 elections we wrote in “Rescue America Or Good-bye America”:

A Mitt Romney win on Tuesday will mean that race-baiting as a political movement will end – character, not skin color will determine our choice in leaders. A Mitt Romney win on Tuesday will mean the American voter believes in accountability as to elected officials and not smear and fear slime tactics as practiced so dexterously in Chicago. A Mitt Romney win on Tuesday means the American future is not the Greece present.

If Barack Obama wins on Tuesday all restraints on race-baiting, fear/smear politics, and unaccountable elected officials will get worse.

With both these scenarios we’ll bet on the American people but we all have to understand the toxic influence of Big Media on our daily lives and on our electoral process.”

Race-baiting won. Race-baiting won in 2008. Race-baiting won in 2012. It’s time for Republicans to learn “One fire drives out one fire; one nail, one nail; Rights by rights falter, strengths by strengths do fail. Or as T.S. Eliot commented on these lines “nothing is more effective in driving out error than a new error.” Ergo, race-baiting to drive out race-baiting.

It won’t be enough to have “Hispanic outreach” without appearing to defend Latinos with frequent and loud shouts of “RACISM!”. Ted Cruz appears to understand and has moved to action:

Ted Cruz says attacks on Marco Rubio are because he’s a Hispanic Republican

Sen. Ted Cruz says some of the attacks on fellow Republican Sen. Marco Rubio by Democrats are motivated by race. Cruz said today the fact that Rubio is a Republican Latino poses a threat to political adversaries. “I think Democrats and the media are afraid of Marco Rubio because he is a smart, intelligent, conservative Hispanic. And they are looking for any excuse they can to attack him, because that threatens them,” Cruz told reporters during a tour of a Texas gun manufacturing plant north of Austin. “Look, he took a drink of water in a speech. And it dominated the news for days with one network saying it was a career ender.”

Cruz said the criticism of Rubio’s GOP response following last week’s State of the Union was about more than his being a promising young Republican. “It’s not just a promising Republican. I think the Democrats view Marco Rubio as a particular threat because of his background, his life story. I think it they believe it is in their interest to inflict as much damage as possible and blow things wildly out of proportion.”

AllahPundit at HotAir on why this is “news”:

“They’d be attacking him no matter what just because he’s a rising star from the other party, but yes, of course it’s true that a rising star who’s Latino complicates Democratic plans for a permanent majority in a way that some other Republican wouldn’t. [snip]

Nothing newsy about any of this. What’s newsworthy is that it’s Cruz saying it after two weeks of withering criticism from Democrats over his role in the Hagel hearings. Rubio’s surely not the only senator he has in mind when he dismisses Democratic Democratic attacks on a young Latino Republican rock star as illegitimate: [snip]

The only way this could have been better calculated to endear him to conservatives is if he’d specifically mentioned Alinsky in talking about it. He’s basically accusing them of following Rule 13 against Rubio (and, implicitly, against him) and now he’s giving them a snoutful of Rule 4.”

It’s not just about Rubio is right. Republicans should have entire contingents of Latinas and Latinos ready to shout “RACISM!” any time any Republican Latina or Republican Latino is criticized in even a minute way. If Bobby Jindal or Nikki Haley are attacked get community leaders to shout “RACISM!”. Battalions of women should be prepared to mobilize whenever any Republican woman is attacked too (call it the “Sarah Palin Anti-Misogyny Brigade“). And why should white men or white women be thrown to the wolves because of the color of their skin?

It’s eat or be eaten. Fight fire with fire. No unilateral disarmament.

Time to kick the tires and light the fires.

That’s a keeper photo, love it.

Republican’s need to round up their minorities and stand with them. One token Hispanic, one token AA and shit kickin’ Sarah Palin can’t take down the Chicago thugs alone. Super sad when McCain is now one of the only ‘tough’ guys. Even Trump isn’t jumping into the fight yet.

Obummer’s change of mind is laid out as this huge threat: “Cops won’t show up if you’ve just been assaulted, firemen won’t show up to your burning house, you’ll find that the hospital is closed, all because Republicans are short-sighted and mean, unlike me, a bold visionary who fights for the common man.”

  11. Stricken Cruise Passengers Bring Class Action Against Carnival

(Reuters) – The owner of the stricken Carnival Triumph cruise ship was hit by a lawsuit seeking class action status for stranding more than 3,000 passengers for five days on a ship without electricity or adequate sanitation.

Carnival Corp should be held liable for physical and emotional anguish inflicted on the passengers as well as punitive damages, according to the lawsuit by Matt and Melissa Crusan. The lawsuit was filed on Monday in U.S. federal court in Miami.

The Triumph was towed into Mobile, Alabama on Thursday, four days after a fire knocked out the ship’s power while it was off the coast of Mexico.

The lawsuit alleged the world’s largest cruise company failed to provide a seaworthy ship. In addition, “motivated solely by financial gain” Carnival negligently brought the Triumph to Mobile, where it would be repaired, rather than a closer Mexican port. That decision extended the trip by 350 miles, the plaintiffs said.

Passengers were exposed to disease as sewage and “human waste sloshed around the vessel as the vessel listed while drifting and/or while under tow,” according to the lawsuit.

A Carnival spokesman, Vance Gulliksen, said the company does not comment on pending litigation.

The lawsuit seeks to represent all of the passengers on the stricken cruise.

The complaint said that the Triumph ticket limits passengers’ rights to bring a class action, but that provision should be voided by Carnival’s negligence in using an unseaworthy vessel and not towing the ship to the nearest port.

Carnival has offered Triumph passengers $500, reimbursement for their transportation and many onboard costs, and given them a credit toward a future cruise equal to the amount they paid for the Triumph vacation.

  12. Breaking News on ABQ TV last night, former Republican Senator Dominici had a love child 30 years ago. He came clean, as someone has threaten to expose it. He was one of the people who stood there and criticize President Clinton for his affair, when he in actuality was not only guilty of adultery, but he fathered a child. 16. John DiStaso’s Granite Status: Spirou files committee to draft Hillary Clinton for President in 2016

THURSDAY, FEB. 21: DRAFTING HILLARY. Former state Democratic Party Chairman Chris Spirou emerged as a player in first-in-the-nation presidential politics Wednesday as chairman of a committee to draft Hillary Clinton to run for President in 2016.

Spirou made the disclosure about his new political action committee in an interview with the Granite Status, which first reported it yesterday on UnionLeader.com.

The name of the PAC, filed by Spirou with the Secretary of State’s office, is “In 2016, Run Hillary Run.” He said a website, In2016RunHillaryRun.org, will be launched next week.

Spirou, a former House Democratic Leader and his party’s 1984 nominee for governor, chaired the state Democratic Party during Bill Clinton’s initial run for President in 1992. He has been under the radar, politically speaking, for many years.

Ever blunt, Spirou told us he is stepping up to form the draft committee at this early stage of the 2016 cycle to establish it as a “preemptive political tool to ward off a challenge” to Clinton in the 2016 leadoff presidential primary and to serve as a place for Hillary Clinton supporters nationwide to urge her to run.

Reuters Poll: Majority in US Say Illegal Immigrants Should be Deported

“More than half of U.S. citizens believe that most or all of the country’s 11 million illegal immigrants should be deported, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Wednesday that highlights the difficulties facing lawmakers trying to reform the U.S. immigration system.

The online survey shows resistance to easing immigration laws despite the biggest push for reform in Congress since 2007.”

    Andrea Mitchell’s Close-Up
    Philadelphia Inquirer ^ | 4/18/2006 | Daniel Rubin

Posted on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 6:23:23 PM by wjersey

We gather Dan Rottenberg did not like Andrea Mitchell’s new memoir, Talking Back.

In a 1,773-word evisceration in the Broad Street Review Rottenberg accuses the former Philadelphia broadcast reporter of writing in “annoying journalese,” of ignoring her previous marriage and step-children, of glossing over her transformation from plain-Jane brunette to “blonde glamourpuss.” Of basically filtering her memories through a Vaseline-softened lens because she is now married to Washington’s ultimate power icon.

Rottenberg, a former Philadelphia Magazine and Philadelphia Weekly editor, writes in his piece headlined, “The Unexamined Life: Andrea Mitchell rewrites her past:”

To be sure, many of us have old marriages and old personas we’d just as soon forget. But why write a memoir if you won’t confront the past? I suspect that Andrea Mitchell’s life may indeed contain the stuff of drama, and maybe even a movie. But she is not the one to write it. When you’ve spent your life hop-scotching the globe for headline stories in the glare of TV lights, it’s difficult to imagine that the biggest story of all might lurk somewhere inside of you, if only you were inclined to dig for it.

He writes that Mitchell, who is married to former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan, seems “determined to bury” two aspects of her life from Philadelphia, where the Penn grad broke into television with KYW in the late 1960s.

    Rottenberg writes:

About her first marriage: In the early ’70s, when I knew her as a fellow parent at Greenfield Elementary School in Center City, Mitchell was married to Gil Jackson, a black man who worked in the public affairs department at Smith, Kline & French (now GlaxoSmithKline) while struggling to launch a career as an independent film producer. An interracial marriage to a man suffering from a very malignant case of multiple sclerosis cannot have been easy for a young Jewish woman barely out of college, yet Mitchell (as far as I could tell) loyally stood by her man while also caring for his two sons from a previous marriage — so conscientiously that I presumed the boys were her own. The marriage broke up shortly before Mitchell left Philadelphia for Washington in 1976, and Jackson subsequently died.

But Talking Back doesn’t mention Jackson or that marriage at all. On the contrary, Mitchell seems to bend over backwards to erase its memory. For example, she mentions her role as godmother to the three children of her NBC News colleague Judy Woodruff, commenting that “In many ways, they and my nieces and nephew have become surrogates for the children I never had.” But she did once have children, or at least stepchildren. She simply declines to acknowledge them here.

Second, Rottenberg digs out a 1974 profile from Philadelphia Magazine, where Mitchell was described as “very average looking…. someone with the frizzies… She’s a little too short and her face isn’t peaches and cream and she has a very intense businesslike voice, a voice that doesn’t sound right doing happy talk.”

    He asks:

So why has this once-feisty individualist now submitted to the network’s cookie-cutter herself? It’s an intriguing question — and again, one that Mitchell declines to address. In her account of the Jonestown massacre, Mitchell mentions a wise-cracking NBC script editor who refers to her as “the Peruvian handmaiden,” causing Mitchell to explain parenthetically to readers, (“At that time, I was a brunette”). After Mitchell served as a panelist for one of the Bush-Dukakis presidential debates in 1988, she tells us that David Letterman asked his audience whether anyone noticed that she’d become a blonde. “I was a throw-away line on late-night TV,” she complains. In a book of more than 400 pages, these are the only references to Mitchell’s dramatic physical transformation.

I emailed Mitchell the piece, and she called back, sounding a little baffled. She spoke off the record at first, and was reluctant to engage Rottenberg word-for-word. For the record, she said this.

“He’s entitled to his opinions, but not his facts, many of which are wrong. I was not writing an autobiography, I was writing a professional memoir. … I’m surprised at his animus.”

For the record also, her voice was surprisingly gentle, neither intense nor businesslike. She answered her own phone. I should say that we’ve talked before – in Jordan and Egypt, when we found ourselves sitting next to each other at news conferences for Secretary of State Colin Powell in 2002. She introduced herself back then, and when she heard The Philadelphia Inquirer, went on about the city and found it amusing that our TV columnist Gail Shister was then performing in The Vagina Monologues at Penn.

Mitchell was remarkable to me for one thing during those press conferences: her ability to get off a question no matter how big and hungry the pack. I remember the Amman event in particular. She had scored a one-on-one with a Jordanian official, and so missed the beginning of the news conference. There was no room for her in the first couple of rows, and I noticed young network correspondent seeming to savor Mitchell’s predicament as she searched for a place to sit where she could be called on. What Mitchell did next was classic.

She simply moved a chair under the podium and started her own row. The younger woman shook her head in disbelief. Mitchell got the first question.

  22. Question: what reason would Michael Bloomberg have for spending $2.1 million in of all places, Chicago, and to attack the opponents of the machine candidate who is running for Jackson’s seat. In other words, why would the billionaire leftist Mayor of New York do this though his PAC, unless he is thinking about running for President in 2016 on the democrat ticket if Hillary does not run. Just a theory. But I do not have a better one. Do you?

  25. To admin re “post of the day” – awesome, well-deserved; glad to see this recognition of your long-standing effort & passion.

  26. A view contrary to ours can be found here: http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2013/02/rubio-ridicule-cruz-hatred-and-ethnicity.php But we think we are correct and we’ll briefly explain why after this excerpt from the article:

Today, though, comes a report that Cruz said that some of the attacks on fellow Republican Senator Marco Rubio by Democrats are motivated by race. Such an accusation would be misguided. Rubio is under attack because he’s a rising star in the Republican party. Rubio may be a rising star in part because of his “race” (actually his ethnicity), but this doesn’t mean that the attacks against him are motivated by race.

But on closer examination, Cruz does not appear to have claimed that the attacks on Rubio are motivated by race. Cruz said, “I think Democrats and the media are afraid of Marco Rubio because he is a smart, intelligent, conservative Hispanic, and they are looking for any excuse they can to attack him, because that threatens them.” He added:

It’s not just [that Rubio is] a promising Republican. I think the Democrats view Marco Rubio as a particular threat because of his background, his life story. I think it they believe it is in their interest to inflict as much damage as possible and blow things [such as the drink of water, which Cruz cited specifically] wildly out of proportion.

Cruz gets this exactly right. The motive for the attacks on Rubio is the threat he may pose as a rising star. The Dems would attack him regardless of why he appears to be a rising star. But there’s no doubt that Rubio’s ethnicity is a factor in the perception that he’s someone whose momentum needs to be slowed. [snip]

Is Cruz under attack because he’s Hispanic? Not at all, and I assume he doesn’t believe otherwise. Cruz is under attack because he’s outdebating Democrats and making the likes of Chuck Hagel look bad. The Dems are used to dealing with Republicans who don’t forcefully take them on in debate or who, though willing to engage, have difficulty making well thought-out arguments (e.g., John McCain, the ipse dixit king).

Cruz is something new in town, and the Dems don’t like it. But their problem with Cruz has no relation, not even an indirect one, to his ethnicity.

In this case “race” versus “ethnicity” is a distinction without a difference for purposes of our discussion and we will use the term “race” here.

The article concedes that the race/ethnicity of Rubio is “a factor” in the attacks. How can anyone dispute that. But Rubio’s race is more than just a factor. That’s like saying that Obama Dimocrat attacks on black Republicans have nothing to do with race. Can anyone seriously believe this?

Marco Rubio is from Florida and he is very articulate. But the threat which emanates from Marco Rubio is the very real possibility that Latinos will identify with him and vote for him. For decades Democrats have had a strategy of what we call “affinity” voters. It’s the “birds of a feather flock together so get a bird to talk to other birds” when you are asking for votes strategy.

Rubio is precisely being targeted because he is Latino. Cruz is being targeted because he is Latino. That’s just another way of saying the attacks are racially motivated.

Are the attacks against Rubio and Cruz and other GOP “minorities” due solely to racial animus and only racial animus? Politically, who the Hell cares? We’re not mind readers and we are not about to indulge in political variations of disparate impact types of analysis into the mindset or “feelings” of Rubio/Cruz attackers.

It’s enough that the motivation for the attacks on Rubio/Cruz and other Republican “minorities” is that they might get votes from their respective affinity groups. The attacks are racially motivated.

Why do Republicans quibble and quake about “RACISM!” when Obama Dimocrats would let the shout of “RACISM!” roll of their lips with ease?

  27. Further, the breathless attack from the New York Times this weekend included this extended quote from Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) comparing Cruz to McCarthy, but the Times neglected to print any actual quote of Cruz from the hearing itself. They merely allowed the Democrats to tell their readers he was awful.

“He basically came out and made the accusation about money from North Korea or money from our enemies, and he just laid out there all of this accusatory verbiage without a shred of evidence,” said Senator Claire McCaskill, Democrat of Missouri. “In this country we had a terrible

  28. [snip]
    ————————-
This is complete doubletalk, by someone who denies reality. The reason dims are afraid of him is because of his ethnicity, and the relationship it bears to a large emerging demographic. If his ethncity were otherwise he would not present that threat. Their attacks are based on his ethnicity, period.

Conservatives or Republicans of every stripe – (I’m not going to get into the meaning of what a ‘conservative’ is or isn’t, so don’t ask me.) 😉

Women of both parties, Hillary and Sarah
    Latino conservatives
    African American conservatives
    Wealthy conservatives
    Small business owner conservatives
_______ (fill in the blank) conservatives

Race, gender, financial status, religious of any brand…everyone that doesn’t ‘believe’ in the godly manner of Obama is a target, including Hillary supporters, (as we all know).

We are all just skeet pucks for O’Dimocrats.

Thanks for clarifying who the hell Thrush is. I read this article yesterday and thought, WTF is this idiot talking about, thinking that HorseFace will be a better, less controlled…all around more glorious SOS than Hillary.

  31. Wbboei, Shadowbox, Obama’s henchmen attacked Hillary Clinton and especially Bill Clinton as racists (see Donna Brazile and Jim Clyburn). Bill and Hillary! Two people who did more for black Americans while they were still in school than Obama has ever done. And some Republicans still don’t get it – they still don’t get the efficacy of race-baiting by Obama or why Republican “minorities” get targeted. It’s amazing. Stockholm Syndrome.

  32. Yes, I forgot to include that Obamacrats attacked Bill. Bill Clinton for God’s sake.

  34. Jimmy Carter claiming that his grandson won the election for Barack Obama by producing the “47 percent” videotape. Oddly, that hasn’t improved relations between Obama and the Democratic President whose policies Obama most closely emulates, at home and abroad.

Democratic pollster and onetime Carter campaigner Pat Caddell tells National Review’s Eliana Johnson he’s not surprised at all:

    [snip]

Pat Caddell argues that the White House’s decision to keep Carter at a distance reflects a broader political strategy: “This is the nature of the Obama administration; it is loyal to no one.”

  35. The D.C. Dubstep

On July 26, 2011, Jack Lew, then the White House budget director, went to Harry Reid’s office for a budget strategy session. According to Bob Woodward’s book, “The Price of Politics,” Lew told the Senate majority leader that they had come up with a trigger idea to force a budget deal.

    “What’s the idea?” Reid asked.

    “Sequestration,” Lew responded.

Reid folded himself over with his head between his knees, as if he were going to throw up. Then he came upright and gaped at the ceiling. “A couple of weeks ago,” he exclaimed, “my staff said to me there is one more possible” enforcement method: sequestration. Reid said he had told his staff at the time, “Get the hell out of here. That’s insane. The White House surely will come up with a plan that will save the day. And you come to me with sequestration?”

Sequestration may have seemed insane back then. But politicians in both parties are secretly discovering that they love sequestration now. It allows them to do the dance moves they enjoy the most.

Democrats get to do the P.C. Shimmy. Traditional presidents go through a normal set of motions: They identify a problem. They come up with a proposal to address the problem. They try to convince the country that their proposal is the best approach.

Under the Permanent Campaign Shimmy, the president identifies a problem. Then he declines to come up with a proposal to address the problem. Then he comes up with a vague-but-politically-convenient concept that doesn’t address the problem (let’s raise taxes on the rich). Then he goes around the country blasting the opposition for not having as politically popular a concept. Then he returns to Washington and congratulates himself for being the only serious and substantive person in town.

Sequestration allows the White House to do this all over again. The president hasn’t actually come up with a proposal to avert sequestration, let alone one that is politically plausible.

He does have a vague and politically convenient concept. (Tax increases on the rich!) He does have a chance to lead the country into a budget showdown with furloughed workers and general mayhem, for which people will primarily blame Republicans. And he does have the chance to achieve the same thing he has achieved so frequently over the past two years, political success and legislative mediocrity.

Republicans also secretly love the sequester. It allows them to do their favorite dance move, the Suicide Stage Dive. It was pioneered by Newt Gingrich in 1995 and has been repeated constantly since.

In this dance, the Republicans mount the stage and roar that they are about to courageously cut spending. In this anthem they carefully emphasize cuts to programs the country sympathizes with, such as special education, while sparing programs that actually created the debt problem, like Medicare.

Then, when they have worked themselves up into a frenzy of self-admiration, they sprint across the stage and leap into what they imagine is the loving arms of their adoring fans. When they are 4 feet off the ground, they realize the voters have left the building in disgust and they land with a thud on the floor.

Sequestration allows the Republicans to do the Suicide Stage Dive to perfection. Voters disdain the G.O.P. because they think Republicans are mindless antigovernment fanatics who can’t distinguish good government programs from bad ones. Sequestration is a fanatically mindless piece of legislation that can’t distinguish good government programs from bad ones. Sequestration carefully spares programs like Medicare and Social Security that actually contribute to the debt problem. Sequestration will cause maximum political disgust for a trivial amount of budget savings.

So, of course, the conservative press is filling up with essays with titles like “Learning to Love Sequestration.” Of course, Republican legislators are screwing up their courage to embrace it. Of course, after the cuts hit and the furor rises, they are going to come crawling back with concessions as they do after every Suicide Stage Dive.

These two dance moves, the P.C. Shimmy and the Suicide Stage Dive, when combined, are beautifully guaranteed to cause maximum damage to the country.

    Yes, Kerry is the un-Hillary:

    * nowhere near as smart
    * career on the downward slide
    * lacks a vagina

    As to item (b):

Kerry, officials say, views the job as the apex of his up-and-down 40-year political career and aspires to a more central policymaking role in the Obama administration than Clinton, who practiced what one official called “odometer diplomacy” — a focus on globetrotting to bolster America’s relationships abroad coupled with attempts to cope with an array of pop-up crises.

  40. As to Politico’s take on Kerry:

Kerry taking “a more central policymaking role” is basically stating that he’ll be more of a lap dog to Obama, rather than Hill, who made the deal with Oturd, “I’ll have my side of the fence, and you have the rest. Take it or leave it.”

The idea that our government can assassinate a US citizen sitting in a cafe in New York or Boston, no trial, no judge–nothing–sounds crazy to most Americans. Brennan: “Let me just say that there are a lot of opinions as to what “today” is. On the calendar, there are certain parts of the world that are ahead or behind us. In certain spiritual sects, there is the concept that “there is only today”. To wit, Janis Joplin, in Ball and Chain”.

Sen. #2: “Mr. Brennan, is there anything that you can answer unequivocally?”

Britain’s credit rating downgraded from AAA to Aa1
The Government’s economic strategy has been dealt a serious blow after a leading credit ratings agency downgraded UK debt on its expectation that growth will “remain sluggish over the next few years”.

Moody’s announced on Friday night that it had cut the Government’s bond rating one notch from ‘Aaa’ – the highest possible level – to ‘Aa1’.

The move is a significant setback for Chancellor George Osborne, who has faced criticism that his strategy for dealing with UK’s huge debt burden is failing to deliver.

Moody’s pointed to “continuing weakness in the UK’s medium-term growth outlook, with a period of sluggish growth which [it] now expects will extend into the second half of the decade”.

The credit ratings agency also noted that the Government’s debt reduction programme faced significant “challenges” and that the UK’s huge debts are unlikely to “reverse before 2016”.

Moody’s said that despite considerable structural economic strengths, growth is expected to be sluggish due to a combination of weaker global economic activity and the drag on the UK economy “from the ongoing domestic public- and private-sector deleveraging process.”

And Britain is actually doing something about its problems. Wait till the fan hits the sith here.

    ________________________________________
America finds itself “over a barrel” (perhaps literally), and at the precipice of financial Armageddon due to the coming collapse of the U.S. dollar. It is most important for people to understand that our financial destruction has been orchestrated for a generation or more, and has been intentionally accelerated over the last two decades to complete a specific agenda.

In order to survive what is coming, it is imperative to understand that agenda, who and what is behind it, and the motive. The bigger picture will connect some very important dots.
All is well in the land of Oz
America is in serious financial trouble, and events on the immediate horizon will forever change our lifestyle. However, if you are like me, trying to convince your friends at work, your neighbors, or perhaps even your spouse that this is true is a formidable (if not impossible) task. They might counter your warnings by pointing to the people walking out of retail stores with big ticket items, or if they are trying to appear more astute, cite the positive gains in the stock market while snickering at you for buying silver at nearly $50 per ounce, while it now hovers at $30 per ounce. You might have even been called a doomsayer or conspiracy nut for buying storable food or extra items for your pantry. However (if their ego permits it), these will be the same people who will turn to you for answers and practical advice when the financial house of cards falls to the floor.

What people are seeing is not reality, but their perception of reality as a result of the conditioning and brainwashing by our elected leaders and the complicit corporate media. The American public has been conditioned and brainwashed en masse into believing a lie.

yes sireee…like the discussion re: the sequester…the sky is falling…..everything will come to a stop…your life will be in danger…

ah…and then again, O gets to decided what gets cut…and says it will be mostly defense…this while simultaneously there is much…much…much…waste that goes ignored…

and when anyone dares to bring that up…like senator coburn…the reply from the White House (from Carney) is those things are only a tiny “drop in the bucket”

…so I guess the logic from O and his WH is cut important things…leave people standing in long lines and in danger…rather than go after all those “drops in the bucket” or CONSTITUENT PORK…thus, instead of making all those wasteful “drops” start FILLING UP A BUCKET…

but no, that would make too much sense…instead campaign all day that the sky is falling, inconvenience everyday americans with long lines, etc, blame the republicans every hour on the hour and then go play golf…

It was the average too-long, unfunny, over-produced Academy Awards TV show and then, after suffering through the 10-hour (well, it seemed like it) show, there was the first lady. In a ball gown. With military service personnel in dress uniform behind her.

Michelle Obama, with service members behind her, announcing the winner of the Best Picture Academy Award (Mario Anzuoni / Reuters)

She declared of the Best Picture nominees, “They reminded us that we can overcome any obstacle if we dig deep enough and fight hard enough and find the courage within ourselves.” Alas, none of the films nor her aides reminded her to mention the military, not those personnel behind her nor those serving overseas, an odd omission for the White House that nevertheless was pleased to have them arrayed behind her like, well, set decoration.

She did have time to give a crumb to the gay community, applauding the movies that inspire us ”no matter who we are or what we look like or who we love,” adding that “they are especially important for our young people.” (Except when they contain gruesome violence, traffic in stereotypes or use gratuitous profanity, I guess.) Real heroes, such as our servicemen and servicewomen, inspire us, too, I would think.

It is not enough that President Obama pops up at every sporting event in the nation. Now the first lady feels entitled, with military personnel as props, to intrude on other forms of entertaining (this time for the benefit of the Hollywood glitterati who so lavishly paid for her husband’s election). I’m sure the left will holler that once again conservatives are being grouchy and have it in for the Obamas. Seriously, if they really had their president’s interests at heart, they’d steer away from encouraging these celebrity appearances. It makes both the president and the first lady seem small and grasping. In this case, it was just downright weird.

No one, it seems, gets within a mile of the White House with any sense of restraint. No one there would dare suggest nearly half the country didn’t vote for him and doesn’t much like him and might want to be left to their small daily pleasures. (Greta Garbo said it best.) And no one there is apt to explain that the White House, the military and the first lady (not this one in particular) are institutions bigger than the Obamas and their e-mail list.

Andrew Cuomo’s smooth ride as New York’s governor – high approval numbers, flattering newspaper coverage, little by way of fierce opposition – has suddenly hit a rough patch.

Much of it is in the form of a single, towering figure: Hillary Clinton. Gone from Washington, she has returned to Cuomo’s backyard, freezing his perceived 2016 presidential hopes as she begins the long process of deciding whether to run herself.

  77. No Quarter

How many of you are watching the Oscar’s tonight? I think Barack Obama deserved to be nominated for best actor. His hysteria and weeping over the last week while pretending “he don’t know nuthin about birthin” that sequester, is truly award winning chutzpah. Now, as I have written previously, Barack did not do this alone. He pulled off this charade with a supporting cast of equally talented flim flam men and women–Harry Reid, John Boehner, Mitch “Mumbles” McConnel and Nancy Pelosi.

These crazy asses want America to believe that simply slowing the rate of growth in the Federal budget–mind you, not a real cut in actual spending, but slowing the rate of growth–will unleash the hounds of economic hell on America. That kind of bullshit is inexcusable but, it is the kind of pretend that one normally associates with actors.

    The Daily Caller reported:
You probably haven’t heard of Kyrzakhstan, but it’s one of the most dangerous places on Earth. It’s so perilous that you can’t find it on any map. It’s just that scary.
    The Telegraph:

John Kerry has suffered his first gaffe as the new US secretary of state, inventing the nation of ‘Kyrzakhstan’…

The newly minted diplomat was referring to Kyrgyzstan, a poor, landlocked nation of 5.5 million, which he appeared to confuse with its resource-rich neighbour to the north, Kazakhstan…

Mr Kerry’s flub was all the more awkward, because Kyrgyzstan is a key ally in the U.S.-led war in Afghanistan and a major recipient of US aid, which totalled $41 million (£27 million) in 2011.

  79. Chris Stirewalt took Shadow’s tought of BO for best actor even further:
Best Actor in a Drama: Barack Obama By Chris Stirewalt

…It was quite appropriate that the first lady joined the festivities for Sunday’s Academy Awards.
It’s not just because Michelle Obama owes her continued residency in the White House in large part to the contributions and celebrity backers from the entertainment industry, but also because her husband’s administration is producing more dramas these days than Harvey Weinstein.
As much as President Obama complains about “cable news” and as often as he shuns the press, Team Obama understands how to fill the void of the 24-hour news cycle. By cooking up dramatic-sounding deadlines, cliffs and crises, the president keeps Americans on the edge of their seats hoping that somehow true disaster can be averted.
This helps the president stay in the news, look like a man of action and cast House Republicans in the role of villain. But the cliffs haven’t been so steep as we have been led to believe….

President Obama’s reorganized campaign operation is selling access to the president in return for big donations, according to the New York Times. The group ‘Organizing for Action’
    &&&&&

This makes it at least the third OFA:

First, it was “Obama for America” (yeah, just what America needed)

Then in office, it morphed into “Organizing for America”, taking the poor saps who supported in 2008 and trying to keep them engaged with little activities, basically keep them all on a short leash for redeployment in 2012.

Now, “Organizing for Action” is a money laundering operation, where rich people can buy access, and poor people can “get mobilized” to do stupid errands like “Go protest at the Republican meeting and let them know you think their stance on is wrong and endangers lives.”

All were means for syphoning money.

Notice how Mr. Community Organizer can’t even get a conversation going with either house in Congress (Dems or Repubs), but he’s reduced to his one-trick-pony act of flying all over the place campaign style and trying get people angry at “dysfunctional Washington DC”. He’s already irrevelevant, but when is he finally going to leave 1600?

  81. Why was Michelle Obama at the Oscars?

It was the average too-long, unfunny, over-produced Academy Awards TV show and then, after suffering through the 10-hour (well, it seemed like it) show, there was the first lady. In a ball gown. With military service personnel in dress uniform behind her.

    [snip]

It is not enough that President Obama pops up at every sporting event in the nation. Now the first lady feels entitled, with military personnel as props, to intrude on other forms of entertaining (this time for the benefit of the Hollywood glitterati who so lavishly paid for her husband’s election). I’m sure the left will holler that once again conservatives are being grouchy and have it in for the Obamas. Well you have to give them an A for recycling the organization so many times.
But don’t misunderstand my snark. I’m extremely upset.

Here is a couple, neither of which is capable of holding a meaningful conversation with adults, and yet they are running the entire DC operation. Just burns my toast that they use the only group they can relate to, the youth of this nation, as they do. Not to mention the military who have no say in the matter. In any matter. No wonder their suicide rate is through the roof.

I’m going a bit astray now, but want to mention what I just learned about the Fort Hood survivor named Shawn Manning. He was seated and texting a message when the first bullet he was to take from Hasan hit him. Said it took his breath away. Although he’d wanted to reply to a question just asked of him, all he could do was drop to the floor and start crawling away. Bastard Hasan saw him getting away and pumped 5 more bullets in him. Miracle he did not die. Took 3 years for him to recover enough to return to work. Two bullets still in him. Terrible physical damage internally and imagine trying to wrap your emotions around a CIC such as what he has.

  83. I think I’m going to surf the evening news shows tonight seeing if Michelle is mentioned and if so, what is said. I cannot imagine that it will be ignored or criticized but as I said somewhere earlier – and it was probably here – MeMe was not making the news shows I saw between 4 and 5:30 AN. That makes me wonder.

  84. …According to The Hollywood Reporter, the FLOTUS appearance was the work of Obama supporter and friend Harvey Weinstein and his daughter Lilly, who arranged for Academy representatives and show producers to secretly fly (via Disney’s jet) to D.C. just two weeks ago to make the magic happen.

And let’s not forget that last month former President Bill Clinton made an unexpected cameo and drew a standing ovation at the Golden Globes when he presented “Lincoln.” That guest list addition was rumored to have been a last-minute favor pulled by director Steven Spielberg, one of the entertainment industry’s most dedicated Democratic donors.
So not to be outdone, the Academy went for a one-up: a reigning White House resident.

However, instead of inspiring, the surprising presenter instantly drew a few head shakes and loud groans from journalists backstage.
“This makes no sense, it adds nothing to the show,” one industry expert told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column with a bemused laugh, while another surmised it as something of a “suck job.”
“They threw all the campaign parties, I guess it was Hollywood’s way of acknowledging their continued love and support of the Obamas,” said another. “It was stupid and pointless.”

  85. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney was pressed this afternoon about a New York Times story reporting that President Obama’s reorganized campaign operation – Organizing for Action (OFA) – was selling access to the White House for donations.
According to the Times, wealthy donors who give $500,000 or more get to join the group’s “national advisory board” which allows them to attend quarterly meetings with the president “along with other meetings at the White House.”
Carney asserted that OFA was an “independent organization” that just happened to support the president’s policy agenda, suggesting that the group was no different from any other advocacy organization.
As reporters continued to press Carney on the issue, he refused to address the New York Times reporting. He ended the press briefing as reporters were still asking questions and fled the podium.
Article includes this 46 second video:

  86. Guess this NYTimes article finally hit a nerve. Now Politico blog begins article with this statement:
White House press secretary Jay Carney denied Monday that access to President Obama was for sale, while leaving open the possibility of Obama getting directly involved with high dollar supporters from his nonprofit group.

Thank God Admin, I didn’t want to think that you had given up Hillary for gardening…and thanks for letting us know.

  91. Hahaha. Even the Dems realize they “jumped the shark” with Michelle Obama’s appearance on the Oscars.

BTW, it was Harvey Weinstein’s idea to have her because he wanted to upstage Steven Spielberg who got Bill Clinton to the Golden Globes.

Joining others to thank you for explanation. WordPress did improve footer somewhat although it now appears double. The social media icons are bigger than they had been, and they needed to be bigger IMO. I’ve used only Twitter but in the past doing so always took me away from this site. Now it works properly.

News this morning reeks of Trayvon Martin death anniversary and tee vee spends more time displaying Zimmerman image. Continue to be rotten. Obama may have crapped on them last Sunday but they keep doing his bidding.

  93. HoldThemAccountable, we are taking inventory of all the many changes WordPress has effectuated. Thanks for your additions to our inventory. There are some things we like (videos now conform better, we think…) and lots we don’t (flora instead of Hillary). It will take us a while until we complete our inventory and decide what to do about the changes.

    Good article.

Obama never wanted Obamacare for Americans, for under-privileged Americans, or for uninsured Americans, but for the Legacy of Obama.

Oturd: “Hey, no one ever won that ‘Universal Healthcare’ prize. I think that’s how I’ll get that fifth head up on Mt. Rushmore. It’ll look great alongside my trophy for the Nobel Peace Prize.”

If they don’t have room for a fifth head, they can convert the head of Teddy or TJ.

    &&&&&&

Even Barky in the NYT a couple of days ago was quoted as saying that he’s not sure how effective all his endless campaigning is doing.

Basically, he goes around the country with valiant men and women standing behing him (firefighters, policemen, armed forces, nurses, teachers, etc.) saying “Republicans are going to get all these brave peopel fired!!!”, and the crowd goes, “Booooo….”.

Then he flies back to D.C., and complains that no one wants to negotiate with him.

Meanwhile, he barely seeks to contact either the House or the Senate, Dem or Repub…He wouldn’t know what to say. “Ummmm, errr, gee, no teleprompter here in the Oval Office”.

    Whattadouche.
