‘We’re On A Mission’ – Big Media Versus America

Update: A bit of esprit d’escalier but better late than never – Reince Priebus: Let’s face it, Chris Matthews is a jerk and no one watches his show

This bit from an I/E Republican/conservative at HotAir is also commendable:

“Incidentally, Matthews isn’t the only reporter sputtering in indignation today about perceived racism in Romney’s welfare attacks. Thomas Edsall unfurled his piece bright and early this morning — coinciding with day one of the GOP convention, conveniently enough — and then the Atlantic followed suit later, replete with a photographic analysis accusing the RNC’s ad team of darkening Obama’s skin. (Obama supporters leveled that charge at Hillary’s ad team during the 2008 primaries too, back when she was a horrible racist and not a wonderful post-partisan feminist icon and diplomat.) My hunch is that there’s only one man in America who could get away with criticizing liberal welfare policies from the center-right without drawing a racism charge, but when I stop to think about that, I remember that that guy was also accused of racism repeatedly for opposing Obama in 2007 and early 2008. So, my hunch is wrong. This argument simply can’t be made. Oh well.”

Hey Reince, take a look below at what we wanted you to say to Jabba the Hut.

——————————————————————————————

Herman Cain said at a unity rally this past weekend, “We’re on a mission – to defeat Barack Obama.”

Big Media is on a mission too. Today MSNBC provides the evidential video: Matthews accuses GOP of playing the race card against team that accused Romney of wanting to bring back slavery, or something:

The idiocy from Chris Matthews cried out for Priebus to say: ‘Chris, you are so far up Obama’s ass you can’t see daylight or your own shriveled testicles.’

Particularly laughable was Chris Matthews playing the po’ bo card. Yeah, Barack, er “Barry” in those days, was really oppressed:

“You can play your games and giggle about it but the fact is your side playing that card. When you start talking about work requirements, you know what game you’re playing and everybody knows what game you’re playing. It’s a race card and if your name’s Romney yeah you were well born — you went to prep school, yeah, brag about it,” Chris Matthews said on “Morning Joe.”

“This guy has an African name and he’s got to live with it. Look who’s gone further in their life. Who was born on third base? Making fun of the guy’s birth certificate issue when it was never a real issue except for the right wing,” Matthews added.

Wasn’t Barry Obama the guy who went to the best prep school in Hawaii and smoked the finest weed there? He attended the same school as Steve Case who owns Dell Computer but Matthews wants to turn this into a ghetto school in the slums? Obama, the leader of the Choom Gang, miraculously then gets into the finest elite schools in America, gets a payoff house and other gifts from Tony Rezko, smears all the opponents he has ever run against with rumor and innuendo, gets gifted the Democratic Party nomination only to send this generation’s Choom Gangs to prison for smoking what he was smoking on a daily basis. Play your games Chris.

Wasn’t Obama the guy living with his grandma, the VP of a Big Bank – ya’ know a bankster? Oh, the oppression!

Chris Matthews as we all know was playing the race card. You can’t say anything about Barack Obama that Big Media does not approve of without being hysterically denounced as the messenger of “coded” messages, “dog whistles”, or out and out “racism”.

There was a time when we “liberals” said we were against the “thought police”. Now the thought police are out in force on cable and in broadcast television and every Big Media outlet – beating down free thought. The old Berkley “free speech” movement is now the Stalin Censorship Code.

We do not think there is anything “progressive” about applauding seals who cannot face the cold facts of reality. Indeed we find it shameful. The “hive mind” is disgusting unto the Pink.

These days what pretends to be “liberal” or “progressive” or “creative class” or “coalition of the ascendent” is nothing but a hive mind. They pretend to be high minded and well educated but these are lemmings, worker ants serving an Orwellian lord, worker bees in the hive – unquestioning and unwilling to tolerate questions.

The former “public editor” of the New York Times describes what it is like to now work at was once a great newspaper, now a propaganda outlet without shame:

“Back then, I viewed The Times as a deeply resourced news organization that was challenged to recreate itself in an environment that was smashing old media and vaulting new forms to prominence. I saw myself as something of a coroner, called in to autopsy flawed news articles that drew complaints.

What I’ve seen has surprised me. [snip]

I also noted two years ago that I had taken up the public editor duties believing “there is no conspiracy” and that The Times’s output was too vast and complex to be dictated by any Wizard of Oz-like individual or cabal. I still believe that, but also see that the hive on Eighth Avenue is powerfully shaped by a culture of like minds — a phenomenon, I believe, that is more easily recognized from without than from within.

When The Times covers a national presidential campaign, I have found that the lead editors and reporters are disciplined about enforcing fairness and balance, and usually succeed in doing so. Across the paper’s many departments, though, so many share a kind of political and cultural progressivism — for lack of a better term — that this worldview virtually bleeds through the fabric of The Times.

As a result, developments like the Occupy movement and gay marriage seem almost to erupt in The Times, overloved and undermanaged, more like causes than news subjects.

A “hive” mind is not progressive. It is stunted and retrograde. Eventually it becomes totalitarian.

When the “hive mind” is disturbed, it stings. The stings of faked “racism” are stabbed at the disturber. The attacks come from within the hive to those outside. Eventually, those within dare not disagree lest they be attacked, and the hive becomes jive. Soon the naked emperor is seen to have brocade capes and gold threaded magnificence.

We wish that in today’s confrontation with Chris Matthews GOP Chair Reince Preibus had lived up to his promise “If they’re gonna punch us, we’re gonna punch back with brass knuckles.”

We do wish that Preibus today had used that line about Matthews being so far up Obama’s ass. But we can’t have everything. But sometimes we do get surprised.

You could have hit us over the head with Chuck Schumer’s treacherous 2×4 and we would not have been more stunned. It was a milestone in the Anybody But Obama history trail.

Take a gander at what shocked us, but consult with your medical practitioner before viewing if you have a heart condition. It made the rounds last week, but still has the potential to stop hearts and stroke brains:

Yup, that’s Norah O’Donnell of the Obama protection squad we call Big Media. Yup, it was CBS: Obama needs to answer for the tone of the campaign.

We began to feel woozy when we heard O’Donnell on CBS say that Obama needs to answer for the tone of his 2012 campaign — but we grabbed for the smelling salts at that last sentence in the video. Watch it again:

Many people believe that Obama was about Hope and Change in 2008 but it is true he ran a very negative campaign in 2008 as well.”

Smelling salts please.

Notice O’Donnell says “he ran” not some distancing collection of words such as ‘his campaign was not as positive as advertised’ which is usually how Big Media will approach the filthy Obama’s filthy campaign in 2008.

Barack Obama and his campaign, which he controlled, mocked John McCain as a doddering old man who lumbered along clumsily. Big Media failed at every turn to denounce Barack Obama and his campaign for mocking a former prisoner of war whose bones had been shattered leaving him unable to physically glide through life. As to the dirty campaign against Hillary Clinton our archives are alive and filled with much of the dirty, often anonymous, mud Obama flung – ably assisted by Big Media.

After years of lies by such as Ben Smith, who is now actively involved in undermining Mitt Romney and still fluffing Barack Obama, after years of Big Media Stalinist twisting of history, a Big Media outlet airs the obvious: “he ran a very negative campaign in 2008“.

Was it Republicans or conservatives that introduced the “N” word (such is the state of thought police politics that we have to engage in euphemisms worthy of the Stalinist USSR) this campaign season? No it was another low life at Chris Matthews’ MSNBC.

May we quote Michelle Obama? After Joe Biden played the race card with his “chains, ya’ll” race-baiting, the New York Times had a report of Obama exonerating Biden:

“But he did have his wife offer a strong defense of his own character. [snip]

She talked about Mr. Obama’s mother and his grandmother, who often saw men promoted ahead of her during her career as a bank officer. “As president, all you have to guide you are your values and your visions and your life experiences,” Mrs. Obama said, making no mention of Mr. Romney’s background as the son of a business executive and governor. “Who you are and what you stand for. And we all know who my husband stands for, don’t we?”

The president, Mrs. Obama said, “is the son of a single mother who struggled to put herself through school and pay the bills. He’s the grandson of a woman who woke up before dawn every day to catch a bus to her job.”

She continued, as the applause thickened: “So what I mean is, your president knows what it means to see your family struggle. This is not a hypothetical situation for him.”

How many lies are embedded in those remarks? Too many to track down fully today. But the monstrous audacity to talk about men “promoted ahead of” women in order to appeal to women voters is too much. Of course the New York Times had no hive mind interest in noting the hypocrisy of lantern jawed Michelle. No mention of Hillary Clinton. No mention that grandma was a bank VP in the paper of record. Yes Michelle we all know what your husband stands for and our mission is to defeat him.

Our mission is to defeat Barack Obama. Big Media has a mission too and Chris Matthews played his part today.

After Norah O’Donnell broke away from the hive mind for a few moments, Jake Tapper joined her in honest expression of thought:

“Tapper said that he hopes the media does not unfairly cover this election and favor one candidate over another, as he says the institution did in 2008.

Ingraham asked Tapper if he was happy with the substance of political media coverage thus far. Tapper replied that he was not, saying that the state of the nation’s economy and the high unemployment rate are voters’ paramount concerns and that he would like to see “more action taken and more emphasis given to this issue.”

Ingraham then quoted Mark Halperin:

“Ingraham then played a clip of reporter and author Mark Halperin saying that he believes the political press is often guilty of talking about what the Obama campaign wants them to talk about, specifically in regard to Mitt Romney’s tax returns, as opposed to other, more pressing issues.”

Tapper’s response echoed Big Pink:

“I have said before… [that I] thought the media helped tip the scales. I didn’t think the coverage in 2008 was especially fair to either Hilary Clinton or John McCain,” said Tapper. “Sometimes I saw with story selection, magazine covers, photos picked, [the] campaign narrative, that it wasn’t always the fairest coverage.”

“not always the fairest coverage” – that’s an understatement.

Big Media will do everything in its considerable power to distract from the miserable Obama economy. Big Media will everything to parrot the Obama campaign narrative. Big Media has its mission.

We have a mission too: Defeat Barack Obama and his enablers, like Claire McCaskill and the hive mind of Big Media.
