A Big Pink Endorsement: Democrat John Wolfe For President!

This has been a week when much of the news was a rewrite of articles we first wrote in 2007/2008. But instead of looking back we need to look forward. Wanna politically punch Obama like Trayvon punched Jorge and lay him flat on the ground, his gray head bleeding? Democrat John Wolfe for President. And Hey — it’s an open primary so everybody can join in.

* * * * * *

Hillary supporters can vividly remember voters electing Hillary Clinton delegates and the Obama Dimocrats stealing those delegates in order to give them to a man that was by his own twisted volition not on the ballot. Think that’s changed?

Last week West Virginia voters voted for a felon currently residing in Texas with enough votes to almost beat sitting bowing president Barack Obama. So many voted for the Texas felon with an unfashionable haircut that he actually won at least 1 delegate to the disaster convention in North Carolina. But forget it West Virginia voters. Your votes don’t count. That delegate will be stolen from the voters and given to Barack Obama.

This Tuesday in the state Bill Clinton governed for so many years there will be a primary. The election will be stolen. The votes will not matter. The delegates will be gifted to Barack Obama.

But despair not. Barack Obama can steal every delegate in every bar in every state but he won’t win the November elections. We can help expedite that political retirement. Democrat John Wolfe for President:

Schadenfreude alert: Obama could lose the Ark. primary

A credible threat to President Obama in the Arkansas primary? Too good to check. Gotta love the unity!

In a poll of likely voters Obama is only up 7 points over Democratic challenger John Wolfe. A loss in the May 22 Arkansas Democratic primary could glue a big red clown nose right on the president’s smug face:

Why? Because the president would begin to look a little ridiculous. Wolfe will start appearing on talk shows, gain momentum in Texas, and arrive at the Democratic convention parading around with his delegates and generally creating a spectacle that will attract reporters bored to tears by the Obama coronation.

David Limbaugh has it right. Let’s make this thing happen!

Yup, this could spread from Arkansas to Texas because John Wolfe is running in both states. Don’t think for a moment that Obama Dimocrats will respect democracy however. Obama is a North Korean:

Dems Disenfranchise Voters After Polls Show Obama in Close Primary Race
Is this some kind of North Korea thing?

After a poll released this week showed President Barack Obama only beating his Democratic primary opponent John Wolfe Jr. by seven points, 45 percent to 38 percent, in Arkansas’s Fourth Congressional District, state Democrats moved to practically disenfranchise Arkansas voters. “[D]elegates Wolfe might claim won’t be recognized at the national convention,” national party officials are telling state Democrats. Wolfe is being accused of not following the party rules.

They want a coronation,” Wolfe tells THE WEEKLY STANDARD. “They’re conflating [Obama] with the party. Are we supposed to call him ‘Dear Leader’? Is this some kind of North Korea thing?

Arkansas voters should not bow to Kenyan North Korean Obama. John Wolfe “insists he’s done the due diligence to qualify for delegates and that the state party is making decisions ad hoc to get the results they desire. Where and when have we seen that before? Yup, Rules and By-laws Committee in May of 2008.

Wolfe says Obama Dimocrats are disenfranchising voters. Wolfe says “he’ll take his own party to court”:

They took my money and put my name on the ballot,” he says. “They’re trying to make people think it’s hopeless to vote against Obama.

Wolfe is also on the ballot for Texas’s primary on May 29.

From Hope to Hopeless. But it is not hopeless. Every vote against Obama counts. If Wolfe even comes close to beating Obama… well, as the Rev. says: “KEEP HOPE ALIVE”. Real Hope not Obama false hope.

Although our exhortations on behalf of John Wolfe are obviously in lieu of a certain plucky blond lady and in order to slap Obama’s smug narcissistic face, Wolfe actually has an agenda that many real Democrats should like:

“Wolfe has been critical of Obama for being tied too closely with Wall Street interests and not pursuing a more forthrightly liberal agenda, like a single-payer health care system that Wolfe (and other Democrats, he says) prefer to Obamacare. And he criticizes the president’s style. “He doesn’t like to be challenged,” he says. “Strong people don’t mind dissent.”

A lawyer from Chattanooga, Wolfe speaks in a Southern drawl, and says Obama and national Democrats don’t want to acknowledge that there are members of the party like him.

He says ‘Chil-ay’ and “Pah-kee-stahn’,” Wolfe says, emphasizing Obama’s pronunciations of Chile and Pakistan. “I say ‘Chil-ee’ and ‘Pack-a-stan.’ They like a person who talks like them.”

Pack-ee-stan, Tal-ee-ban.

Is this just a dream, a desperate waste of time? No. Obama knows that even the remotest chance of losing anything will not only hurt his fragile ego but it can cost money. If this effort causes Obama Dimocrat voter disenfranchisers to have to spend money, any amount of money and time, the effort is worth it.

We Hillary supporters know plenty of people in Arkansas and a quick phone call won’t hurt, will it? We know people in Texas too. And the people we know are Democrats not the current crop of Obaminations.

Yup, Obama could lose in Arkansas and isn’t that location simply choice, simply delicious? Arkansas:

“Obama Could Lose Arkansas Democratic Primary

President Obama is barely leading an out of state challenger in the May 22 Arkansas Democratic primary, according to a local poll conducted by the respected Hendrix College and Talk Business Research. [snip]

Wolfe’s apparently credible challenge comes just a week after Keith Judd, an inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution in Texarkana, Texas, picked up 40 percent of the vote against Obama in the West Virginia primary.”

Yee-haw! A felon in another state with no money and no organization and no publicity almost beats a sitting bowing president of the United States. Can you say Eugene McCarthy? Now John Wolfe:

If I were the RNC, I’d be pouring money into the Wolfe campaign. A Wolfe victory would actually be A SERIOUS MATTER for the Obama campaign.

Why? Because the president would begin to look a little ridiculous. Wolfe will start appearing on talk shows, gain momentum in Texas, and arrive at the Democratic convention parading around with his delegates and generally creating a spectacle that will attract reporters bored to tears by the Obama coronation.

They’ll do the roll call and someone will say, “The great state of Arkansas casts its votes for John Wolfe.”

One problem for Obama is that Wolfe doesn’t sound like a lunatic. I’m not saying he isn’t a lunatic. Just that he doesn’t sound like one.

Presidents really should not be losing primaries. Lyndon Johnson withdrew in 1968 simply because he didn’t win New Hampshire by as many votes as he was expected to.

Losing Arkansas would help create a sense among voters that something is very wrong. I would expect over the next week an strange infusion of buses and passenger vans into Arkansas to get Obama supporters to the polls.”

Add a Wisconsin victory for Scott Walker in June to a John Wolfe victory this coming Tuesday and later on in Texas and miracles can happen. And if none of this comes to pass Obama still looks like the scrawny fool he is. John Wolfe for President!

Is Obama going to lose the Arkansas Democratic Primary?:

“Via Jorge Bonilla in the Greenroom, who sounds the call for “Operation Razorback Chaos.” Two words, my friends: Open primary.

It’s magic time. [snip]

No one’s voting for Wolfe, only against Obama, so if the backlash is real then this race just got tighter. In fact, Arkansas Democrats are sufficiently worried that they announced today that Wolfe won’t be awarded delegates no matter how well he does because he hasn’t filed all the necessary paperwork. How happy do you think they were to have to issue that just-in-case statement?

Actually, the best part of this story is the location. Team Mitt’s going to have a lot of fun if The One faces a close call on Bill Clinton’s home turf:

Seeking to attract Democrats and independents who supported the last Democratic president, Romney has taken to lavishing praise at every turn on Clinton’s boom-era ’90s policies while contrasting them unfavorably with President Barack Obama’s old-school, Big Government ways.

The tactic is designed to drive a wedge between the group of Democrats who supported Obama during the epic 2008 primary battle between Obama and Hillary Clinton: the white, working-class voters who hold the key to many swing states, like Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan.

It’s also a simple way for Romneyland to poke a stick in the eye of Team Obama, using one of its most prominent surrogates but a man who has had a complicated personal history with Obama…”

Yup, we hold the key. Now let’s begin to twist it.

Seventeen percent of voters in the district are undecided between Obama and Wolfe and Obama only leads by seven. Yes we can!:

Seventeen percent are undecided in the district poll.

In an interview with THE WEEKLY STANDARD, Wolfe said the poll results were “unbelievable” and said a defeat for Obama in the Arkansas primary would be “politically cataclysmic.”

“It says the momentum is good,” Wolfe said about the poll. “This is democracy in action.

Wolfe predicted that the voters would move his way in the final days before the May 22 primary, despite his shoestring campaign budget. “There’s not been a single TV ad. There’s not been a single radio ad,” he said.

Wolfe is also competing against Obama in Texas’s May 29 primary.

Wolfe has criticized Obama for being too close to Wall Street and its interests (for example, Obama’s latest fundraiser with private equity lenders last night in New York City) and seeks to be a more principled Democrat than the 44th president.

Wolfe also said he supports repealing the president’s signature legislation, Obamacare, which he says doesn’t lower health care costs even if the White House claims otherwise.

I don’t think it’s right in principle to force people to buy from monopolies,” Wolfe said. “The thing about Obamacare is it’s the best thing for the stock prices of insurance companies.” Wolfe added that he supports a single-payer health care system because it will be more cost effective.

Wolfe previously told TWS that he does not support gay marriage, unlike Obama.”

Big Media wants to keep a potential Obama loss in Arkansas a secret. But even the drunkest Big Media JournoLister had to take note that Obama lost 20% of the vote in North Carolina. Obama loses Arkansas and Big Media will have to report it and then…:

Hillary 2012? Obama In Serious Danger of Losing Arkansas Primary

After President Obama’s humiliating showing against a West Virginia prison inmate earlier this month, a more serious humiliation could be in making after the May 22 Arkansas primary. [snip]

In West Virginia, a prisoner garnered nearly 42% of the vote against this sitting president. In North Carolina, “no preference” took 20% of the vote away from Obama. In national and many battleground state polls, even when he’s ahead, Obama is stuck in the mid-forties — the worst possible place for an incumbent to be

This is an incumbent in way more trouble than the corrupt media wants to let on. But even though they refuse to report it, the media does know Obama’s in trouble. All you need do is look … at … their … increasing … desperation.

But nothing displays the corrupt media’s desperation more than the fact that this pretty major story is being marginalized and/or ignored in most MSM outlets — even as they find time to do oppo-research on private citizens who support Romney.

And then there’s the desperation of the White House.”

John Wolfe to block, Mr. Trebek. It’s Obama Jeopardy we’re playing.

  1. More Obama in Arkansas from Obama loving, race-baiting NPR:

    http://www.npr.org/blogs/itsallpolitics/2012/05/18/152995033/obama-won-t-carry-arkansas-but-could-he-cost-democrats-the-legislature

President Obama’s performance in next Tuesday’s Arkansas primary won’t be as embarrassing as what happened in West Virginia two weeks ago, when he gave up 41 percent of the vote to someone who happened to be sitting in a federal prison in Texas for embezzlement.

But it may well do more lasting damage to his party.

Obama lost Arkansas by 20 points in 2008 and has virtually no chance of carrying the state this year in the November general election. Even many Democrats, it seems, have never warmed to him.
    [snip]

So the question is, what kind of damage could Obama’s performance in November do to Democrats statewide?

Arkansas is the last Southern state remaining where Democrats have held onto their traditional majorities in the Legislature. But Republicans are now within striking distance there as well — thanks, in part, to Obama.

“Republicans won a whole bunch of legislative seats they had never competed in before” in 2010, says Roby Brock, editor of TalkBusiness.net, which conducted the recent 4th District poll. “A lot of that was an anti-Obama vote they took out on people who were on the ballot as a whole.”

With Obama on the ballot himself this fall, will Arkansans be satisfied voting against him, or will they take their feelings out on Democrats in general?

Because of state law requiring redrawn state Senate districts after each U.S. census, Arkansas voters will select the entire state Legislature on Nov. 6 — all 100 House seats and all 35 Senate seats.

“The president has been unpopular here, and that has been magnified in parts of the state by his recent declaration of support for same-sex marriages,” says Democratic state Sen. Steve Harrelson.

But, he adds, “I don’t believe that his overall disapproval rating in rural Arkansas will carry over to state and local races.”

That may be right. Native son Clinton is the only Democrat Arkansas has supported for president since 1976, but the party has managed to retain its legislative majorities ever since Reconstruction. (Bass, the Ouachita Baptist professor, says Obama’s defeat of Hillary Clinton for the nomination four years ago may explain part of the state’s animosity toward him.)

Thanks to their gains in 2010, however, Republicans need only to pick up three seats to win control of the state Senate and five to take over the state House. The state has been trending more toward the GOP — Arkansas elected John Boozman as only its second post-Reconstruction U.S. senator two years ago.

An especially poor showing by Obama this fall might just wipe away the Democrats’ historic majorities.

“That’s the question, really, this year,” says Jay Barth, chairman of the department of politics and international relations at Hendrix College. “Is the president a negative turnout machine that motivates people and helps turn out Republicans, or is he just somebody people vote against once they get there?”

  2. So many of our old articles sound fresh as they get rewritten:

    http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/300362/obamas-oprah-problem-lee-habeeb

She didn’t see it coming. One day, Oprah Winfrey turned around, and her nationally syndicated show was sliding in the ratings, and her audience was fleeing en masse. And it happened soon after a day she thought was one of the best in her life.

Isn’t that how all the giants fall? When they least expect it?

It was the day Oprah announced she was backing the African-American candidate, then-senator Barack Obama, over the highly qualified and experienced woman candidate, then-senator Hillary Clinton.

It was the first time that Oprah put her brand on a political candidate. And her audience was expecting a very different choice.

Oprah appeared on Larry King Live in May 2007, flush with pride, and was asked the questions lots of women in her audience had on their minds.

Is there a side of you, the woman side, that would lead toward a Hillary?” King inquired.

“Well, I have great respect for Hillary Clinton,” Oprah said. I think I’ve said this before, and it’s true: Because I am for Barack does not mean I am against Hillary or anybody else.”

    So much for the sisterhood!

And so much for that Oprah honesty that her mostly female — and mostly white — audience had come to expect all of those years.

Oprah had chosen the less-qualified, less-experienced black man over the more-qualified, more-experienced white woman. It didn’t take long for Oprah to feel the backlash.

Hell hath no fury like millions of women scorned.

Sounds great — and Elizabeth Warren for VP!

ahhh…yes…isn’t that what the dems have been/were worried about starting a few months back when O was sinking hard and before the media starting fiddling with slanted polls to start propping O up…and trying to brainwash us that O was a lock to win and Romney is out of touch, no one likes him, he’s not one of us, he’s a selfish crook, bla, bla, bla…

…yes, it is delicious…all aboard…the train is on the track and leaving…

  5. Go, Arkansas! Vote John Wolfe!

And to the fake Dimocratic Party I say: You have no idea what is coming down the pike. Turnout of opposition to Obama is going to be record-breaking. I cruise the conservative and other blogs a lot, and people are NOT talking to pollsters. They are hanging up. They are quietly lying in wait, deliberately low profile, chomping at the bit to crawl over broken glass to vote Obama and his Dims out, and drag as many family members and neighbors with them as they can.

Unless Mitt just screws the pooch bigtime between now and November, Obama is toast. But even before November, I’d love to see the national embarrassment for him that a sitting president losing his own primary in Arkansas would be. Texas might be a tougher sell, since there is a hotly contested R senate race here, and you can’t vote in both primaries – you have to pick one. But Arkansas is doable for sure.

  6. foxyladie,

    I swear you read my,mind!

i was just about to post that someone should break the news to Bradzilla that No DONNA, you were WRONG about the new Dim coalition. Anyone still have her addy?

About the John Wolfe campaign, boy do I wish I lived in Arkansas. An OPEN primary! Why, anything could happen couln’t it?

  7. My apologies to admin and all who read here if I posted extensively or lugubriously about the absence of media attention given to Donna Summer last night. I am house sitting just east of nowhere for the weekend and well they said help yourself to the bar. Zip to do so I took them up on it. Discovered a wonderful Rose called Pink Floyd it’s from the Miraval vineyards. Yummy.(Think Brad Pitt owns it)
I think “enough is enough” is a great theme song for 2012. Guess Summer’s not getting the attention befitting an icon of her stature because she allegedly made comments about promiscuity and HIV during the 80’s
Anywho my bad for taking up more of your time and offering nada significant
    ABO 2012

  8. Henry, I loved Donna Summer too! What a voice! Still play her songs on my Ipod when on the treadmill. Some of my favorite are “On the Radio”, “Enough”, and love her rendition of McArthur Park:

    McArthur Park:

  9. I know people hate/ed disco, but I love to dance so I was in seventh heaven during the disco era. Nowadays, I dance Argentine Tango (different from DWTS Ballroom tang).

    For Henry:

Barbara and Donna: “Enough is Enough”

  10. I coinfess I bwose MANY blogs even those I disagree with to see if I can grner info about the other side and maybe learn something.

Today, one of the more extreme blogs came up with a theory that really stopped me in my tracks.

What if: BO was ORIGINALLY intending to run for office in Kenya where his relative whasshisface (Cousin Raul Odinga?) is now running things and THAT’S why he listed his birth place as Kenya in the Dystel repped book?

And what if things changed between 1991 and 2004 and instead of heading off to be a leader in Kenya, as planned, he ended up the dim nominee?

Just thought I’d throw that out there.

  11. confess I browse and garner although “coinfess I bwose and grner” does have a more poetic sound something like “resist we much.”

    😳

  12. An Obama primary loss in Arkansas would be so sweet on so many levels. Unfortunately I can’t vote there but I’ve already mailed my California primary ballot with Hillary’s name written in 🙂

  13. trixta
What I am flabbergasted by is the media’s response to the death of a woman who defined an era. Whitney Houston died a tragic death but she was by no stretch of the imagination a role model. I am in the process of buying a building where I am living but til the sale is final I can’t get the place properly wired for internet or cable so since January I have relied on broadcast and wifi. I work about 70 hours a week and spend another 25 with a 5 year old I know it offends the tree huggers but I always leave my TV on for background noise and I was astonished when Whitney died by how the press reacted. I think like most people it was a sad event but it was not earth shattering yet the media kept on it. Became absurdly annoying.

  14. henry,

Agree about the media idiocy regarding over-covering Houston and downplayng Summer who REALLY defined an entire musical era.

Oh well, what did you expect from LSM? They have their heads up their collective butts.

About the ‘white noise” – I know lots of people who can’t even go to sleep unless the tube is on. NP with me.

So stop apologizing! I doubt the TV takes much more energy to run than a sound machine and, yes, I have owned several in my day.

  15. BTW,

Anyone else notice a glaring omission on Drudge? He’s taken down ALL articles linked to the litgate biogate Kenyagate story.

    Wonder why?

Most stories just keep scrolling down toward the bottom of the page until there’s no more room.

Coincidence or something else at play?

  16. the preakness…that was a great race…now a chance for the Belmont in three weeks and the Triple Crown…last triple crown winner was in 1978…

Can’t go to sleep with the tv on. I end up with weird disturbing dreams about my pillow or proactiv. Nope I have it on when I am working at home otherwise the silence is distracting.
Think I am late to the party but I am completely taken by Rose wine. This Pink Floyd shite is beyond yummy. Usually I am beer/bourbon or anything but chardonnay white wine– I knew rose was huge in southern europe but never went there as I associated it with white zinfindel. Wow was I wrong. Clean crisp and just a hint of sweet

  18. S,

My thoughts, too. They never take down a headlined story like that.

    OT,

I’ll Take Another is one gorgeous throroughbred.

  19. ‘weird disturbing dreams about my pillow or proactiv.’

Or proactive on/in your pillow? hehehehe. My mom is a white noise TV person. In times of great anxiety I, too, have succumbed to that sleeping draught.

  20. I wish that Wolfe would put he name on the ballot here in CA, I would vote for him.

Yes, how ironic if he wins in Clinton country.

Let the games begin…anyone, anything but the rusted calf.

Barry might try to eat Wolfe!

  21. Kip Tew might not know his statement applies to more than just Indiana:

    http://hosted2.ap.org/CAANR/1e38c7a90bbb42c9bda8ea8c454a5424/Article_2012-05-18-Obama-Indiana/id-bb5e6ad5267b4822a58ea5737923a127

GARY, Ind. (AP) — Barack Obama was the first Democrat in 44 years to win Indiana in the 2008 presidential race. A repeat coup seems doubtful this year.

Even Democrats see the current political environment in this conservative-leaning state as far more challenging. The economy is still struggling, Republicans have made steady gains in state and federal elections in the past four years and the regional pride that came with voting for a senator from a neighboring state — Obama is from Illinois — is all but gone. [snip]

None of the factors that helped him in 2008 are going to be there this time,” said Kip Tew, an Indianapolis lawyer who chaired Obama’s statewide campaign when he became the first Democrat since Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964 to carry Indiana. [snip]

Obama aides try to lower expectations about winning Indiana again, calling the state a unique opportunity in 2008 and suggesting it’s not high on the priority list this time. Of the three historically conservative states Obama won that year, aides see the other two — North Carolina and Virginia — as more competitive given the favorable changes in voting and demographic patterns there as compared to Indiana.

Indeed, there is no evidence that Obama is competing in Indiana. [snip]

Still, the state’s stubbornly high unemployment rate makes it unfriendly territory for Obama. It’s 7.9 percent statewide, slightly lower than a year ago and slightly below the national average. Joblessness is even higher, at nearly 10 percent, in Lake County, Ind., where Obama’s overwhelming support from blacks was seen as pivotal four years ago. [snip]

In 2008, Barack Obama was a propeller in Indiana,” state GOP Chairman Eric Holcomb said. “Today, he’s an anchor.”

That’s in part because perceptions about Obama also have changed.

He made too many mistakes,” retired steelworker Roland Lewis said during a recent shopping trip with his wife in Merrillville, a racially diverse northwest Indiana suburb. Lewis voted for Obama but said he won’t again in November. “No more on-the-job training,” he said.

I will be voting for Wolfe on May 29th in Texas.

    Sweet,

  23. I loved to dance to Donna Summer, her song, No More Tears, got me through my divorce.

    RIP Donna

  24. I have one last point before I crack open a bottle of wine and watch a cheesy horror flick on demand. Lives are being played with when oblunders makes statements about gay rights. On one level I think his statement could serve as a balm to the confused/alienated/misunderstood but it also could evoke a lot of anger from the majority.
I am gay, but I got to live in different worlds. Grew up very very poor but I was blown sideways through life. I lived in Philly , Manhattan and London before I was 25. It is so hard for so many to just be allowed to express what is for them a natural feeling. Elitists do not consider the ramifications of shoving their agenda down someone else’s throat. Real people get hurt. I have walked down some pretty lonely streets in my life and while a lamp post may seem like a refuge it is not if it just makes you an easier target.
I have spent the last 5 years of my life dealing with a little girl that no one wanted when she was a tadpole. Bestest friend now in the whole wide world and she in an entire year of kindergarten got 7 answers wrong and she will do battle that three were improperly worded. I am one lucky SOB, but I do not sing the praises of gay parenting. I didn’t want it.

  25. OOPS
I have zero opinion of anyone raising a child. Gay/Straight whatever– caring/loving a child is the most exhausting endeavor there is and it does not come with days off or vacations or regular sleeping hours and you never get the luxury of not worrying ever again in your entire life

  26. Henry, check this out:

    http://hotair.com/greenroom/archives/2012/05/19/history-buff-claims-obama-is-not-the-first-gay-president/

Poor President Obama! He just can’t cut a break. First he is denied the distinction of being the first black president, partly because Democrats conferred that title on Bill Clinton and partly because Obama is only half-black.

Now it turns out he may not be the first gay president either. The Daily Mail breaks the bad news:

It would seem that Newsweek’s latest cover showing President Obama with a rainbow halo declaring him ‘The First Gay President’ is not merely attention-grabbing but historically inaccurate too.

Critics and history buffs, quick to scorn the sensationalist cover, have pointed out that James Buchanan was likely the first homosexual President more than a century ago.

Rumours about Buchanan’s sexuality have circulated with historians determining that the fifteenth leader of the U.S was gay—and that the nation knew it.

‘There can be no doubt that James Buchanan was gay, before, during and after his four years in the White House. Moreover, the nation knew it, too—he was not far into the closet,’ [ultra-liberal] historian Jim Loewen wrote on History News Network in response to the news magazine’s daring cover.

Loewen’s evidence, the Mail reports, is a letter Buchanan wrote in May of 1844, in which he confesses not only to pining for Alabama Senator William Rufus King, who had moved to Paris after being named U.S. ambassador to France, but to having “gone a wooing to several gentlemen, but have not succeeded with any one of them.”

  27. Early voted today. When I got my ballot, I asked can I write in. They said no. I said OK, then I will not vote for him. They all smiled.

  28. admin
that is funny and even funnier that according to family lore he is a relative. Maybe I can get secret special service.
On another note when I was a sophomore at Temple in Philly I woke up one day and decided to take a day trip to Manhatten I had never been and no one was very into going there. So I went by my self. Took a bus and got out on 42nd street. I knew nothing about the city. Wandered up 9th Avenue and ended up in a dive bar called Rudy’s between 45 and 46th. Went in and got very drunk with an 80 year old former chorus girl. We got shitfaced to Joe Cocker. I left her bombed out of my mind and took the bus back to Philly. Seems she died but somehow through facebook her niece also a dancer found me. Not at all profound as I ended up living on 45th street for many years and knew her aunt for years but hell why ruin a good story,

To someone’s great aunt who danced on broadway and introduced me to manhattan

This is no cause for despair however. No president before him received the Nobel Prize for doing nothing. Let that be his enduring legacy.

  30. On my mother’s side(not the Presidential side) a relative did the full out search. Turned out my grandmother’s mother was Cherokee and at 12 she got the illustrious job of being a servant. Lady of the house died and a 13 year old girl became his. She had one kid to him that was sent away but the rest were raised as farmers. He’d be half Cherokee and he is somehow involved in my lineage. I am so much more Cherokee than the pretender

  31. The collapsing building:

    http://freebeacon.com/obamas-grade-d-plus/

Here is the collapsed foundation on which we stand today: The economy is stagnant. The unemployment rate has fallen only because participation in the labor force is at its lowest level since the 1980s. Osama bid Laden is dead, but the movement he inspired lives on, continuing to kill innocents in Europe, Africa, the Greater Middle East, and doing its best to hit targets in the United States. It is America that is rushing for the exits in Afghanistan, not the Taliban or the Pakistani intelligence services, who are now the objects of diplomatic entreaty. Drugs are still for sale.

The world is full of nuclear weapons and, indeed, more countries are likely to pursue them if Iran gets nukes. The “strong message” Obama sent to the mullahs on that topic was returned to sender. The Cold War mindset of the past may have been rejected in the Oval Office and in some parts of Capitol Hill, but it is very much alive in the Kremlin, where the Russian dictator bullies his neighbors when he is not occupying them outright, crushes democracy activists, and allows his generals to threaten NATO with preemptive strikes. Some people still have more money than others. The planet has not, from what I can tell, been “saved.”

The housing collapse has not ended. Health care costs are rising. Public schools fail to educate children in the habits of mind and heart of democratic citizenry. Green energy accounts for a pittance of total energy consumption. The debt grows larger with each passing second. Nothing has been done to change Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security to make them solvent. Democrats don’t even have a budget.

One cannot even say that this presidency has been a success from a left-wing point of view. The Bush tax rates are in force. Guantánamo Bay is open. There have been no trials of Bush officials and in most instances—preventive detention, drones, Special Forces—Obama has retained or expanded his predecessor’s war-making powers. We are still at war in Afghanistan. Cap and trade did not make it past the Senate. The health bill included a giveaway to private insurance companies in the form of the individual mandate, but lacked a public option. Obama finally may have announced his support for same-sex marriage, but is he doing anything to promote or enshrine it into federal law? If one looks at the world through progressive eyes—bear with me, it will only take a moment—then one must give credit to Obama for ending Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell and for withdrawing Americans from Iraq.

Obama’s single achievement is something he scarcely intended and likely will lament for the rest of his days: the reinvigoration and reorientation of the right to first principles in the aftermath of the Bush presidency. Prior to Obama’s ascendance, the right was riven between big-government conservatives, libertarians, social conservatives, interventionists,  activists, and intellectuals. The right was more interested in its divisions than its commonalities. Years of power had made us sloppy and complacent and sometimes corrupt.

Obama illustrated, boldly and shockingly, the power and drive of a resurgent progressivism. His grandiose designs forced conservatives into rethinking their attitude toward public policy in light of American exceptionalism and the American Founding. Suddenly finding themselves unwilling passengers on Obama’s progress train, conservatives remembered those they had left behind: Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Hamilton, Adams, and Lincoln. Only in reversing course, in returning to the supposedly outmoded and old-fashioned ideas of natural rights and constitutionalism, would conservatives begin to prepare the ground for a renewed America. That is why Obama’s grade is a D Plus rather than outright failure. Who says conservatives don’t believe in grade inflation?

Barack Obama, future historians will remember, gave new life to something thought dead. Maybe he is a miracle worker after all.

  32. one must give credit to Obama for[…] withdrawing Americans from Iraq.

    ===============

According to Bush’s timetable. After ‘withdrawing’ others by re-labeling them as ‘non-combat’.

  33. I have 7 younger (mid to late 20’s) nieces and nephews, who all voted for Obama in 2008. Only one of them still says he’s going to vote for him again, and that one is now wavering and may just stay home.

The wavering one lives in the Mission District is San Francisco, and was PISSED OFF when OWS trashed his neighborhood and tore up local businesses a few weeks ago.

I did watch the Chris Wallace show this am with Austen Goolsbee and Paul Ryan, and then the panel that included Karl Rove, Joe Trippi and Bill Kristol. Is it just me, or are the ‘defenders and pretenders’ who carry water for the current incumbent a little shaky, and shifty (even their eyes are shifty), and that their body language betrays what they are saying which is mostly talking points for the destruction of America? This was especially true of Goolsbee and Trippi; they do not b.e.l.i.e.v.e a word they are saying and it is so obvious. There are two opposing teams here; those in the RIGHT and those with only MIGHT. It harkens back to the days of good men wear the white hats, while the bad men wear the black hats. 40. Report: Dems Seek To Disenfranchise Obama Arkansas Challenger’s Voters Doing what they did to Hillary, again?

If this report is true, if indeed Arkansas state Democrats are threatening to ignore any delegates President Obama’s primary challenger, John Wolfe, might win this Tuesday, this is an obvious attempt to not only disenfranchise his voters but to also suppress the turnout of his voters, who are now being informed their vote might not count.

Michael Warren at The Weekly Standard:

After a poll released this week showed President Barack Obama only beating his Democratic primary opponent John Wolfe Jr. by seven points, 45 percent to 38 percent, in Arkansas’s Fourth Congressional District, state Democrats moved to practically disenfranchise Arkansas voters. “[D]elegates Wolfe might claim won’t be recognized at the national convention,” national party officials are telling state Democrats. Wolfe is being accused of not following the party rules. …

Wolfe insists he’s done the due diligence to qualify for delegates and that the state party is making decisions ad hoc to get the results they desire. “This is ridiculous,” he says. “These guys are trying to tamp down voter enthusiasm.”

If he’s denied delegates he’s rightfully won, Wolfe says, Democrats would be effectively disenfranchising those who chose him over President Obama. And if that happens, he’ll take his own party to court.

“They took my money and put my name on the ballot,” he says. “They’re trying to make people think it’s hopeless to vote against Obama.”

Wolfe is also on the ballot for Texas’s primary on May 29.

Wolfe suspects these suppression efforts are coming directly from the top, the DNC.

    http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/05/20/Report-%20Dems-Seek-To-Strip-Delegates-From-Obama-Arkansas-Opponent

  41. Yup, according to the DNC, [we] US citizens, are already living in a Third World country dominated by a corrupt government Republicans and Democrats alike.

As it is, our votes will be counted and tallied in Spain and Spain will be the decider of the next president; not US voters…

Obama is suffering from humiliating denial- With and ego forced into facing reality, where Americans chose to vote for a prison inmate rather than an incumbent president, speaks volumes as to Obama’s likeability and his dwindling prospects of winning re-election. He does have a plan for dealing with the inevitable unfavorable outcome though- He has placed one of his minions on the Board of Directors, (it helps having your own man overseeing the outcome turns out as planned) and it also helps, his benefactor, George Soros owns the machines counting the vote… tra-la-la

  42. Mrs. Smith, if they try to deny Wolfe delegates, he needs to set up a legal fund to take the DNC to court. I’ll donate.

  43. Who Is ‘Racist’?: Part II

    Thomas Sowell

Around this time of year, I sometimes hear from parents who have been appalled to learn that the child they sent away to college to become educated has instead been indoctrinated with the creed of the left. They often ask if I can suggest something to have their offspring read over the summer, in order to counteract this indoctrination.

This year the answer is a no-brainer. It is a book with the unwieldy title, “No matter what … they’ll call this book Racist” by Harry Stein, a writer for what is arguably America’s best magazine, “City Journal.” In a little over 200 very readable pages, the author deftly devastates with facts the nonsense about race that dominates much of what is said in the media and in academia.

There is no subject on which lies and half-truths have become so much the norm on ivy-covered campuses than is the subject of race. Moreover, anyone who even questions these lies and half-truths is almost certain to be called a “racist,” especially in academic institutions which loudly proclaim a “diversity” that is confined to demographics, and all but forbidden when it comes to a diversity of ideas.

The ultimate irony is that many of those who publicly promote or accept the prevailing party line on race do not themselves accept it privately. A few years ago, when a faculty vote on affirmative action was proposed at the University of California at Berkeley, there was a fierce disagreement as to whether that vote should be taken by secret ballot or at an open faculty meeting.

Both sides understood that many professors would vote one way in secret and the opposite way in public. In short, hypocrisy is the norm in discussions of race – and not just at Berkeley. Moreover, it is the norm among blacks as well as whites.

Black civil rights attorneys and activists who denounce whites for objecting to the bussing of kids from the ghetto into their neighborhood schools have not hesitated to send their own children to private schools, instead of subjecting them to this kind of “diversity” in the public schools.

As for whites, author Harry Stein says that many white liberals “give blacks a pass on behaviors and attitudes they would regard as unacceptable and even abhorrent in their own kind.” This, of course, is no favor to those particular blacks – especially those among young ghetto blacks whose counterproductive behavior puts them on a path that leads nowhere but to welfare, at best, and behind bars or death in gangland street warfare at worst.

In the introduction to his book, Stein says that his purpose is “to talk honestly about race.” He accomplishes that purpose in a fact-filled book that should be a revelation, especially to young people of any race, who have been fed a party line in schools and colleges across America.

He looks behind the highly sanitized picture of Al Sharpton, as a civil rights statesman with his own MSNBC program and his designation as a White House adviser, to the factual reality of a man with a trail of slime that has included inciting mobs, in some cases costing innocent lives.

Positive news also receives its due.

Some readers of this book may be surprised to learn that the ban on racial preferences in the University of California system did not lead to a disappearance of blacks from the system, as the supporters of affirmative action claimed would happen.

On the contrary, more blacks graduated from the system after the ban – for the very common sense reason that they were now admitted to University of California campuses where they qualified, rather than to places like UCLA and Berkeley, where they had often been admitted to fill a quota, and often failed.

Stein’s book is also one of the few places where many young people will see the actual words of people like Bill Cosby, Shelby Steele, Pat Moynihan and others who have opposed the fashionable platitudes that confuse racial issues.

Whether those words convince all readers is not the point. The point, especially for young readers in our schools and colleges, is that this may be one of the few times they will ever encounter a fundamentally different set of views on race – views that they have only heard referred to as coming from “Uncle Toms” or “racists

  44. They have not passed a budget in 3 years, Obama’s budget has been voted down by margins like 99 to 0, they have added $5 trillion to the national debt, squandered a stimulus and play games with unemployment to pretend that everything’s coming up roses.

How can anyone with any honesty and common sense take these traitors seriously. They are traitors, you know. This is no time to mince words. The inevitable effect of their policies–domestic and foreign is to bring down the middle class, control the people, and surrender the United States to its enemies. It cannot be otherwise.

  45. Juset looking at the Drudge headline, with photo of cops in riot gear…protests against NATO…..huh?

Somehow the Occupy nuts and the ‘peace’ group have tried to follow the lead we did in the Viet Nam protests of the sixties…someone forgot to tell them the big frickin’ difference, THERE IS NO DRAFT! You are against fighting in a war, don’t sign up for the military.

Don’t get me wrong, I do honor our kids that joined to ‘defend’ our country, but sorry, fighting to find WMD, Saddam, giving ‘Democracy’ to the ME is not defending the US and those kids got used.

Now these kids might be protesting just because they see their futures are full of debt, thanks also to their Dear Leader….but look where they are protesting…maybe they are starting to bring the chickens home to roost?

    Continued from above….

Three activists who traveled to Chicago for the summit were accused Saturday of manufacturing Molotov cocktails in a plot to attack Obama’s campaign headquarters, Emanuel’s home and other targets. But defense lawyers argued that the police had trumped up the charges to frighten peaceful protesters away. They told a judge it was undercover officers who brought the firebombs to an apartment in Chicago’s South Side where the men were arrested.

But my all time favorite is a billboard in my homestate that reads: Would those who voted for Obama to prove you were not r.a.c.i.s.t. please choose someone else to vote for this time to prove you are not s.t.u.p.i.d.

wbboei, agreed. Time for boldness; no time for pussyfooting around like McCain. We must soldier on as our lady in Pink urged.

  51. i would like to see someone really exploit the fact that if you vote in democratic primaries it is MEANINGLESS…

if there were a smart puppy opposing O or someone in some background PAC they should be exploiting loud and clear…that anyone who votes in a democratic primary can assume their vote will go to O whether they like it or not…if you vote for someone opposing O your delegate still goes to O…you have no representation in the O dim party…it is rigged

…they should REMIND voters in upcoming democratic primaries that the dems do not represent democracy…all you have to do is look at Florida and Michigan in the last primary…two states were cut out and their democratic votes did not count…they had no rallies or political input…and NOW…the dims are doing it AGAIN…

what kind of a party – the O dims – goes around blabbing about voter suppression and voters rights…because the opposition has the GALL to ask voters to have an ID to vote…can you imagine???

BUT…BIG BUT…then the voters show up and the democratic party of BO tells them their votes will not count and will instead go to O…or go nowhere…into the abyss…

…this is the fuel that started the fire against O in the last primaries…someone needs to pick up that torch and run with it…

the dims are not only CONDESCENDING to women…the are UNDEMOCRATIC to voters…they are insulting…and corrupt

  56. I had never before seen the bios and pictures of these vermin. They look like something out of a woody allen sketch–or a children’s crusade. It is a sign of national decline that they would have even the voice they do. Their biggest problem is they defend their supposed values when a Republican is in the White House but when Obama is in there and does the same thing the word is mum. That being the case, it is impossible for any sentient being to take them seriously. I noticed the associate editor grew up in Santa Barbara. That means money, and the leftist causes are hard to distinguish from a spoiled rich brat. Could be a misread–but I doubt it. Keep in mind my dislike for these people is not in any way shape or form a defense of what is happening to our society. The problem is with rubes like this it is easier for the bad guys to rape pillage and plunder. They are enablers and don’t even know it.

  60. A friend of mine who has given up on the process altogether told me her views on two key points:

first, as the polls continue to deteriorate, and as Biden continues to behave like a gaff master (this assumes of course that he is not just clinically insane, in which case these are not gaffs by reliable indicators of his deranged state of mind), then the entire left will put terrible pressure on Hillary to join the ticket as vp. This will go down like a mouth full of grass burrs for Michelle who refers to Hillary as “a snake”, but if that is what the Obama campaign wants then that is what will happen and Hillary will be a good soldier. She was adamant and asked me what I thought. I changed the subject. If that is what happened I could not vote for it–not that my vote matters. The current effort at rehabilitation of Hillary by big media seems to support this theory.

second, given the physical resemblance of Obama to Franklin Marshall Davis, and the fact that Obama’s grandfather sort of set them up, and the fact that Davis treated Obama like a son, etc. my friend is of the view that Davis, a communist pedophile race baiter is the real father. In that case, the effort to present his as borne in Kenya was an effort to cover this up, and make BO sr look like the father when in fact he was a cuckold.

  61. wbboei,

Some more tantalizing clues about when the BO birthplace lie started, what the original lie was, and more muddying of the waters.

An American Thinker article cites TWO 1990 articles from big box media – LAT and NYT – noting BO’s tenure as Harvard’s 1st black Law Review Prez and BOTH articles cite his birth place as Hawaii.

Obama was born in Hawaii before he was born in Kenya.

    Oy.

It seems to me that everyone is blackmailing everyone else from Pooplosi to Bo to whoever’s behind BO – what a friggin mess.

Meanwhile LSM is spinning out of control with everyone in ultimate CYA mode

I found this comment at another blog especially succinct.

“Indeed the truth seems to be gaining momentum. The mainstream media are in a box. Since they backed Obama so strongly despite his lack of experience and radical background, they want to suppress the truth. Yet if the truth gains too much momentum, they will look like fools and frauds as more and more irrefutable details emerge. I bet there are many sweaty palms in the MSM right now, and I bet they’re on the verge of reporting what they have been suppressing. Come on in MSM, the water’s fine! Last one in is a skunk!”

  62. I’m not trying to be nit-picky but I keep reading on here by different poster that we live in a Democracy. The United States is not a Democracy but a Republic and here is the difference:

Democracy and Republic are two forms of government which are distinguished by their treatment of the Minority, and
In a Democracy, the Majority has unlimited power over the Minority. This system of government does not provide a legal safeguard of the rights of the Individual and the Minority. It has been referred to as “Majority over Man”.
In a Republic, the Majority is Limited and constrained by a written Constitution which protects the rights of the Individual and the Minority. The purpose of a Republic form of government is to control the Majority and to protect the God-given, inalienable rights and liberty of the Individual.
The United States of America is founded as a Republic under the Constitution.

I myself did not know the difference and my husband said, “It’s the 51% make the rules and the 49% are S*it out of Luck if the 51% decide they know what’s best for everyone.”

  63. I will vote Wolfe 5/29/12 in Texas. First time Dem vote in 3 years…Wow. I need to find a sign for my yard.

  67. Washington Post catches up to what we wrote in first quarter of 2011 after seeing the first finance reports from Obama:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/romney-could-best-obama-in-fundraising/2012/05/20/gIQAbVafdU_print.html

Romney could best Obama in fundraising

Here’s a scary thought for Democrats: It’s entirely possible that former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney and the Republican National Committee will outraise President Obama and the Democratic National Committee in the seven-month sprint to the general election.

In April, the first month in which Romney was untethered by concerns about the primary fight and in which he and the RNC linked up efforts, their combined haul was just north of $40 million — almost the exact amount the president and the DNC gathered in that time frame.

“It’s becoming very clear the president’s opponents are very intent on funding a candidate, regardless of how flawed he is, to win in November,” said Jonathan Mantz, who served as the finance director for then-Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s 2008 presidential bid. “So when you look at the April filing for Romney and then add his super-PAC fundraising to date, Obama’s campaign must maintain if not step up their fundraising pace.”

What’s abundantly clear is that Obama won’t have the massive fundraising gap over Romney that he enjoyed in the 2008 contest against Sen. John McCain of Arizona.

In that race, Obama raised an astonishing $771 million while McCain brought in $239 million — a total that included roughly $85 million in public financing funds for the general election. (Obama opted out of public financing.) For you non-math majors out there, that means Obama collected (and spent) three times as much money as McCain, a huge gap that almost certainly put the Democrat over the top in places such as Indiana and North Carolina and cushioned his margins in other swing states such as Florida and Ohio.

There is a zero percent chance that Romney will follow McCain’s lead and take public financing. And even though he has spent most of this election cycle running in a competitive and splintered GOP primary, Romney raised almost $100 million through April.

“There were still a good number of historic Republican donors who had been holding out, but with Mitt now the presumptive nominee, they are coming off the sidelines quickly,” said one major Romney donor granted anonymity to speak candidly about fundraising. “Recent Romney fundraisers are exceeding goals.”
    [snip]

“It is entirely possible that Romney and the RNC could outraise the president and the DNC,” acknowledged Steve Rosenthal, a veteran labor strategist. “When you add to that the avalanche of money pouring into the right-wing super PACs, and the fact that polls are already showing a close race in most of the battleground states, it creates a troublesome scenario. For Democratic donors, now is the time to step up.”

Not if he didn’t reaffirm his citizenship again with an application to Immigration stating the facts of his birth before he was 18 yrs old, with paperwork to back it up. And his mother would have had to return to the US within a certain time period. (I think within 3yrs)

Remember McCain’s NBC was in question and there wasn’t any doubt both his parents were US Citizens.
So, Davis helps his case but not so much.

  74. There are a few articles around about Sunland Park NM. The corruption is voter fraud. In a Fox video also readily found, it is noted that Sunland Park is a border town which gives it some sort of access to $12Mil allegedly being used as a slush fund. Think they hoped to make it a border crossing. At any rate, here is the least of it:
Prosecutors file additional charges in corruption investigation in Sunland Park |
SUNLAND PARK, N.M. — Authorities investigating corruption allegations in city government in Sunland Park filed additional criminal charges against two former city officials on voter fraud allegations. And a third official was charged with tampering with evidence during a police search of City Hall in February. Prosecutors say Silvia Gomez, the city’s former senior center director, was charged with registering four people who live in Texas to vote in a New Mexico election. She was previous charged with similar allegations.
Jesus Dario Hernandez, the city’s former public works director, also faces new voter fraud allegations. Prosecutors say Gilbert Velez, the city’s manager information technology, also has been charged for his role in tampering with evidence on Feb. 21 while State Police officers were executing a search warrant at City Hall.

John Edwards Jury Looking at ‘Bunny’ Money

The jury in John Edwards’ campaign finance trial begins its second day of deliberations this morning in Greensboro, N.C.

The panel of eight men and four women spent about five hours behind closed doors on Friday as they began to weigh the evidence presented over nearly four weeks of testimony.

Shortly after they retired to the jury room on Friday, the jurors sent out a note to Judge Catherine Eagles, requesting a number of trial exhibits related to money provided by Virginia heiress Rachel “Bunny” Mellon in 2007.

The government alleges in count two of a six-count indictment that Edwards and his former aide Andrew Young illegally solicited hundreds of thousands of dollars from Mellon as part of the effort to hide his pregnant mistress, Rielle Hunter, during the 2008 Democratic presidential primary campaign. Count three of the indictment contains similar allegations, but is focused on checks Mellon wrote in January 2008, shortly before Edwards ended his quest for the nomination.

Among the exhibits the jury requested is a letter Mellon wrote in April 2007 that is sometimes referred to as the “haircut” letter. Mellon wrote the letter to Young, shortly after the press had seized on the news that Edwards had charged a $400 haircut to his campaign.

And why there is a caveat about trusting wiki as a reliable source.

    ==================

Yes, if anyone can change it, then it’s not a reliable source. But which ‘wiki’ and which article? ‘Wikipedia’ is not the only ‘wiki’. And important articles at Wikipedia usually do have some editor that hangs out there to correct really silly statements. (Or is this ‘Conservapedia’ where the editor would want silly statements against ‘Democracy’?)

Actually as the terms are being used world-wide, ‘Democracy’ has become generic to distinguish between, say, ‘Monarchy’, ‘Dictatorship’, and the form used by US, Britain, most European countries, etc: ie where the citizens’ vote ultimately controls the government (with some Constitution to protect the Minority from too much government and/or prevent too fast change). The US form is often called a ‘Democratic Republic’ because the citizens elect the representatives, though under the generic sense of ‘Democracy’ it would be more accurate to say a ‘Republican Democracy.’

Sorry I don’t have time to cite a reliable source, I’m going out.

  78. Mrs. Smith – I’ll stop by later today!

As for this article, I just could not resist placing it here:
CURL: Hillary Clinton will be the 2012 veep candidate – Washington Times
Show of hands: Who here still thinks Vice President Joseph R. Biden will be on the 2012 ticket?
Really? All of you? So wrong. The Great One, Sir Barack Hussein Obama, will replace the bumbling, buffoonish Mr. Biden with Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, maybe at the Democratic convention, maybe just before, in a last-ditch effort to win re-election. The wild and crazy move is all the talk outside the Beltway. One state Democratic leader even tells me the bumper stickers are already printed, sitting in a warehouse in (where else?) Little Rock, Ark. Another party bigwig says she is “99.9 percent sure” the increasingly desperate president planned the whole thing from the beginning. (“C’mon, Hill, be Secretary of State for one term and I’ll make you veep the next!”)
Step back a minute: What does the president get from keeping Punxsutawney Putz on the ticket? Zippy the chimp. But if he bails on Mr. Biden, picks a woman — bam, base enthusiasm goes through the roof, women come out of the woodwork to vote (for Mrs. Clinton, not for Mr. Obama), and it’s 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. for another four years. (Plus, Joe becomes Secretary of State, because, really now, he wouldn’t know what to do if he wasn’t living off the government teat, would he?)
    Back to the president’s desperation….

    *************

Like millions of other former Dems, I will not vote for Obama under any circumstances! Hillary as his running mate will only jeopardize her chances for 2016 (should she decide to run) as well as her legacy as Secretary of State. Furthermore, as Obama’s Cheney she would be the fall guy for his every mistake and misdeed. Indeed, she would be prosecuted while the ONE would go unscathed and propped up for the history books and Mtn. Rushmore.

From what I understand, it looks like the Neo-cons (i.e Kristal, Rove, Noonan, etc. ) also want Hillary to join BO’s 2012 ticket. But why? Undoubtedly, IMHO, to smear Hillary with his political corruption and policies. If the GOP is going to go full-throttle against Obama this election cycle, this would be a sure way to destroy her chances in 2016 and beyond.

Hmmmm…. I wonder what Donna Brazille is saying about the matter. If she begins to campaign for a Hillary draft, then chances are she and Rove are still in cahoots with each other against the Clintons.

I only hope Hillary will not give in to pressure or be blackmailed in any way to replace Joe Biden.

  80. Great article, ADMIN! Obama and his Neo-Dem Party must be sweating bullets at the thought of Wolf, ex-convicts, etc. getting a good percentage of the votes in the current primaries. I guess they think Hillary as VP would bring such protest voters back into the fold.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie told Kentucky Republicans on Saturday that President Barack Obama was “posing and preening” instead of working to resolve pressing issues facing the country.

  82. I love this piece at Breitbart. If our press has decided that the private lives of private citizens are fair game because they “insert themselves in politics” by asking Obama a question, or telling their job loss story in an ad, then THE JOURNALISTS THEMSELVES, and THEIR private lives are fair game as well.

Hey, don’t want your private life dug through? Stop carrying political water. I am sick to death of these journolisters sitting on high like some untouchable poobahs, blatantly using their position to shape public opinion and go after private citizens, while viewing themselves as protected by their “press” status. It’s time they got a taste of their own medicine.

Vet the fuckers. Start digging. Where is THEIR money invested? What is THEIR divorce history? What do THEY say/do in private? How rich are they? Do they tip? Have they had a DUI, or a nasty lawsuit? What makes them sacrosanct, if Joe the Plumber or private citizen donors or “average guy who lost his job” are not?

  83. This is why you need to look carefully at polls. Some are okay, and then they deliberately throw in crap when needed to prop up Obama:

Yesterday, I wrote about a few of the variables that can affect the accuracy of polls. Polls conducted of just adults, for example, deliver a huge seven-point bias in favor of Democrats. Notwithstanding this bias, it is simply silly to report political polling results of a sample of adults, since a large part of that sample won’t actually be voting. It can, however, be useful if you want to make a partisan political point. This is exactly what the Tennessean newspaper and other media outlets have done.
Yesterday, the state’s biggest paper splashed across its front page the breathless headline that “Obama closed the gap” and was essentially tied with Romney in the Volunteer State.

The poll of 1,002 Tennessee residents who are 18 and older found 42 percent would vote for Romney and 41 percent for Obama if the election were held now. The survey, conducted May 2-9 by Princeton Survey Research Associates International for Vanderbilt, had a margin of error of 4 percentage points.
Do you see that? “residents…18 and older,” meaning adults. Sure enough, a couple more paragraphs into the story, we learn that the Vanderbuilt University poll did add in a registered voter screen. Those results? Romney is beating Obama by seven points.

That’s a much different headline isn’t it? To its credit, Politico immediately threw cold water on the headline results of the poll, describing the campaign in Tennessee as a “blowout wrapped in a nail-biter.”

But, Brett LoGiurato, the resident Obama palace guard at BusinessInsider, went with the shocking headline that Obama was “only down one” in Tennessee. He eventually got around to noting the registered voter number, but still tried to argue that the poll was bad news for the GOP. (Warning: for LoGiurata, the sun coming up is pretty much bad news for the GOP.)

The thing is, we can’t really tell if the poll is bad news for the GOP, because Vanderbuilt University won’t release the poll data until Wednesday. We don’t know if they over sampled Democrats to get these results or played around with the sample in other ways. It seems Vanderbuilt and the Tennessean paper will be releasing bits of the poll over the next couple of days. The needed context to understand the poll won’t come until long after they “report” the findings.

(Note: I’m assuming the May 2-9 date for the poll is a typo by the Tennessean. One, seven days is a very long time to have a poll “open”. More importantly, why report on a poll taken two to three weeks before reporting it? A lot has happened in the campaign in those weeks, right? Of course, most of what’s happened has been negative for the Obama campaign. The newspaper wasn’t just sitting on this poll until they needed to change the narrative of the campaign, were they?)

Indeed the truth seems to be gaining momentum. The mainstream media are in a box. Since they backed Obama so strongly despite his lack of experience and radical background, they want to suppress the truth. Yet if the truth gains too much momentum, they will look like fools and frauds as more and more irrefutable details emerge. I bet there are many sweaty palms in the MSM right now, and I bet theyre on the verge of reporting what they have been suppressing. Come on in MSM, the waters fine! Last one in is a skunk!

The new media needs to keep the pressure on the MSM, because if you do it right you can force them into the corner of HAVING to cover what everyone is already talking about, or look completely lame and lose what little credibility they have left.

If one or two blogs are discussing, they can sweep under the rug. If its trending on twitter, ALL the blogs are talking, and its being emailed all over, they have a harder time covering it up. The People CAN force their hand, if we make enough noise.

Forget about the GOP presidential primary. The presidential contest to watch here is on the Democratic side, where President Barack Obama faces little-known challenger John Wolfe.

Wolfe, who’s been on the ballot in a handful of states this year, isn’t much of a threat to the president. But coming on the heels of Obama’s West Virginia performance – where a convicted felon won 41 percent against him on May 8 – this contest has a similarly high potential embarrassment factor.

Arkansas, once the home state to the Clintons, was Obama’s single worst in the 2008 primaries: Hillary Clinton beat him 70 percent to 27 percent. In November, he was shellacked again by John McCain, losing by 20 percentage points.

In the states where Obama has been on the primary ballot this year, he’s typically won with close to 90 percent of the Democratic vote. But in this region of the country, his numbers have been notably lower. He won just 57 percent of the vote in Oklahoma, where he lost 15 counties. In Louisiana, Obama won 77 percent but lost enough of the vote in several congressional districts to Wolfe that Wolfe qualified for three delegates.

In both Oklahoma and Louisiana, there were multiple obscure candidates to choose from, splintering the protest vote. In Arkansas, there’s just one. That’s a similar set-up to West Virginia, which also only had one other candidate on the ballot with Obama – all of which gives Wolfe a chance at being the next Keith Judd.

I am LOVING this! Just hope the MR camp doesn’t get cold feet like everyone else the evil one comes in contact with. Notice how quick Booker retracted those remarks? Reminds me of how quickly Dystel said they made a fact checking error in their BO bio. Yeah, right. Meanwhile, over the past 17 years the bio was updated several times noting things like his run for the senate and then the preezy. How conveneient no one noticed the birthplace mistake. Also noteworthy is that in 1990 both the NYT and LAT reported on BO becoming Harvard Law School Pez and said he was born in Hawaii.

Like everyone is saying – Either Bo lied then or he’s lying now. Either way he’s a liar. I also find it odd that the NYT and LAT would even bother writing about a Harvard Law School Office. Who put them up to that?

    Obama squanders the likability factor.
    May 28, 2012, Vol. 17
    By FRED BARNES

By the time he took office in 2009, President Obama had fashioned a reputation as an idealist committed to reforming the way business is done in Washington. But as president, he’s allowed this reputation to fritter away. And what’s left of it is now being destroyed by his harsh and misguided campaign for reelection.

Obama has become his own worst political enemy. Even when his job approval first began to fade, his poll numbers for being well-liked personally remained high. Now those are fading too. He’s on the road to defeat.

In 2008, Obama ran a “bring us together” campaign. He presented himself as a political uniter eager to bridge differences between the parties. This year, he’s unleashed an “us versus them” campaign, catering to Democratic interest groups and seeking to marginalize Republican challenger Mitt Romney as an unacceptable alternative as president.

Neither of these tactics is new to politics. FDR ran a divisive campaign for reelection in 1936, uniting Democratic factions and tarring his opponents as “economic royalists.” In 1964, Democrats isolated Republican Barry Goldwater as a conservative outside the mainstream of American politics. Likewise in 1972, Republicans succeeded in branding Democrat George McGovern as unacceptably left-wing.

Obama has pursued these tactics crudely. He’s done little to disguise his preferential treatment of narrow (but sympathetic) slices of the electorate. He’s been concentrating on special interests, not the national interest, and it shows.

To appease environmentalists, he blocked the Keystone oil pipeline from Canada. For younger voters, he’s proposed to keep the interest rate on student loans from doubling.Feminists got the contraception mandate. To appeal to Hispanic voters, he promoted the DREAM Act to give their children a path to permanent residency. African Americans? Obama intruded himself into the case of Trayvon Martin, whose shooting death touched off a protest led by Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. If he had a son, Obama said, he’d look like Martin. For gays, he declared his support for same-sex marriage. For organized labor, he stacked the National Labor Relations Board with union partisans.

His blatant political favoritism has backfired. The pipeline, it turns out, has broad public support. The requirement that health insurers provide free contraceptives, with no conscience exemption, infuriated Catholics and evangelical Protestants. His endorsement of gay marriage was seen by two-thirds of Americans as politically motivated.

To ostracize Romney, the Obama campaign wants to make him personally unacceptable as a possible president. This is different from the way Goldwater and McGovern were marginalized—and more risky. They were attacked for their ideology and policies. With Romney, it’s the morality of his decisions as head of Bain Capital that’s being questioned. Obama would have you believe Romney is a bad person.

There’s a reason for this. It would be difficult to stigmatize Romney as politically extreme. In a May survey by the GOP polling group Resurgent Republic, 58 percent of Americans regarded him as moderate or somewhat conservative. “They view Mitt Romney the same way they view themselves,” pollster Whit Ayres says. “It’s Obama they view as outside the mainstream.”

Romney, by the way, has responded more deftly to criticism of his business career by the Obama campaign than he did to similar attacks by opponents during the Republican primaries. Andrea Saul, his spokeswoman, said this after an Obama TV ad blamed Romney for closing a steel plant:

    &&&&&&&&&
“Mitt Romney helped create more jobs in his private sector experience and more jobs as governor of Massachusetts than President Obama has for the entire nation. President Obama has many questions to answer as to why his administration used the stimulus to reward wealthy campaign donors with taxpayer money for bad ideas like Solyndra, but 23 million Americans are still struggling to find jobs.”
    &&&&&&&&&&&&

Romney didn’t need a compelling response to an Obama television spot that alleged Romney would not have seized the opportunity to kill Osama bin Laden, unlike the president. This is absurd. How could the Obama team know this? In truth, any president probably would have jumped at the chance to execute bin Laden. I suspect most people think so.

Obama’s style of running for reelection has taken its toll. “The Greek columns are now in ruins,” says Steve Law, who heads American Crossroads, the Republican super-PAC. He was referring to the makeshift columns erected on the Denver stage where Obama delivered his acceptance speech in 2008. Obama’s “ham-handed” campaign has wiped out his “last shred of brand equity.” He’s descended to the lowest common denominator. He’s a Washington pol.

Yet Democrats continue to cite Obama’s likability as a political strength. Indeed, it once was. But no more. In the recent bipartisan Battle-ground Poll, nearly one-quarter of voters said they like Obama personally but disapprove of his policies. But here’s the rub: Sixty-eight percent of those voters said they won’t vote for Obama, and another 20 percent said they’ll “consider” someone else. Only 6 percent said they plan to vote for him.

“For the Democrats to focus on the likability factor at the current time, however, largely appears to be fool’s gold,” insists GOP pollsters Ed Goeas and Brian Nienaber.

Obama has a bigger problem: the growing assessment he’s simply incapable of reviving the nation. American Crossroads has conducted a series of focus groups with swing voters who backed Obama in 2008. Last fall, they reluctantly acknowledged he’d failed to solve the country’s problems, though they didn’t regard their vote for him as a mistake.

This spring, they’ve begun to render a tougher verdict: Obama may not be up to the job. Law says these swing voters won’t be attracted to Romney by negative attacks on the president. Instead, he must persuade them he can succeed where Obama hasn’t.

Obama’s continued decline is not inevitable. As Ayres points out, presidents win a second term when their job approval trends upward in the months before the election. This was true for Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton, and could be for Obama. But he’ll need a far better campaign than we’ve seen so far—and a better presidency too. I’m not betting on it.

Before 9 a.m., a group of lobbyists began showing up at the White House security gates with the chief executives of their companies, all of whom serve on President Obama’s jobs council, to be checked in for a roundtable with the president.

At 1 p.m., a dozen representatives from the meat industry arrived for a briefing in the New Executive Office Building. At 3 p.m., a handful of lobbyists were lining up for a ceremony honoring the 2011 World Series champions, the St. Louis Cardinals.

And at 4 p.m., a lobbyist for Goldman Sachs arrived in the Old Executive Office Building for a meeting with Alan B. Krueger, chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers.

It was an unremarkable January day, with a steady stream of lobbyists among the thousands of daily visitors to the White House and the surrounding executive office buildings, according to a Washington Post analysis of visitor logs released by the administration. The Post matched visits with lobbying registrations and connected records in the visitor database to show who participated in the meetings, information now available in a search engine on the Post’s web site.

The visitor logs for Jan. 17 — one of the most recent days available — show that the lobbying industry Obama has vowed to constrain is a regular presence at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. The records also suggest that lobbyists with personal connections to the White House enjoy the easiest access.

More than any president before him, Obama pledged to change the political culture that has fueled the influence of lobbyists. He barred recent lobbyists from joining his administration and banned them from advisory boards throughout the executive branch. The president went so far as to forbid what had been staples of political interaction — federal employees could no longer accept free admission to receptions and conferences sponsored by lobbying groups.

“A lot of folks,” Obama said last month, “see the amounts of money that are being spent and the special interests that dominate and the lobbyists that always have access, and they say to themselves, maybe I don’t count.”

The White House visitor records make it clear that Obama’s senior officials are granting that access to some of K Street’s most influential representatives. In many cases, those lobbyists have long-standing connections to the president or his aides. Republican lobbyists coming to visit are rare, while Democratic lobbyists are common, whether they are representing corporate clients or liberal causes.

Lobbyist Marshal Matz, for example, who served as an unpaid adviser to Obama’s 2008 campaign, has been to the White House roughly two dozen times in the past 21 / 2 years. He has brought along the general counsel for the Biotechnology Industry Organization, the chief executive of cereal maker General Mills and pro bono clients, including advocates for farmers in Africa.

In April 2011, Matz came to the Old Executive Office Building with the owner of Beef Products Inc. to meet with Robin Schepper, a woman he has known for years who heads Michelle Obama’s anti-obesity campaign. The company owner argued that one of his products should be promoted for school lunches, according to two participants in the meeting.

That’s BS. He’s taking in water fast and going down. LSM is in the luxury cabin with Mr, Preezy and they are going down too. Haven’t you learned, yet, that you cannot believe what LSM reports?

Meanwhile, 43 Catholic institutions including the arch dioceses of NY and Washington DC are suing over the BO Catholic healthcare mandate and requirement they provide birth control.

Meanwhile, I hate to say it JBStonesfan but you are sounding awfully like the knucklehead black idiots on SH radio who REFUSE to criticize the Once and continue to attack MR over things like an unproven 1965 bullying incident, Seamus on the roof and are BULLYING their own including Booker and Dystel to toe the party line.

It is all BS. BO is NOT going to win unless it’s by fraud or theft or declaring martial law and canceling the elections.

Of that I am now convinced.

I am so convinced I’m ready to put my money where my mouth is. Want to BET BO will lose?

Media Already Manipulating Polling Data for Obama

    More at:

    http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/05/21/polling-silliness-begins-early

  104. jbstonesfan, because that outlier FOX poll that polled registered (not likely) voters and oversampled Dems by 8 points ( a bigger split than even 2008 at O’s high point) is still averaged in. Once that drops off, the polls will tighten again.

The polls from here on out need to be watched closely. The pattern is that they do real ones, and then throw in odd ones to “even it back out” and make it a horserace. If you look at the D/R breakdown of the polls, and at the general trend, you can usually tell which ones are just bullshit outliers. If ONLY ONE poll shows Obama up 7, and ALL the others show it either fairly even or Romney ahead, you can bet that’s what they are doing.

The media will not allow Obama to ever be badly trailing in the polls for weeks. They will continue to throw in an odd one here and there to keep it “tight”.

Obama Super Pac Flounders As Romney Cash Pouring In

by Ulsterman on May 21, 2012

The Romney campaign is already enjoying considerable financial support among private industry America as the Obama campaign continues to beg for cash that is coming in well below the levels expected just one year ago.

Priorities USA raised a pitiful $1.6 million in April, bringing in some $3 million less than the pro-Romney Restore Our Future, Politico reports.

The group stumbled even after the White House dropped its abhorrence of PACs and started prodding Democrats to contribute to it.

Priorities USA has $4.7 million on hand, less than Restore Our Future. Another major GOP PAC, American crossroads, the Karl Rove-backed venture, had some $24 million amassed at the end of March.

The poor performance of Priorities USA comes as Mitt Romney is drawing nearly even in his personal fundraising effort to President Obama. If Obama wins this year, it won’t be because he can wildly outspend is GOP rival, like he did in 2008.

    ‘Not the Real World’

Obama officials pressured contractors to change job loss figures, recordings reveal

Obama administration officials may have pressured government contractors to change job loss estimates associated with coal regulations, audio recordings reveal.

The tapes show that unnamed officials with the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSM) asked government contractors to change their calculations of job losses associated with the Stream Protection Rule. (to make BO look better -an impossible dream).

A preliminary draft of an environmental impact statement estimated that up to 7,000 coalminers could lose their jobs under the administration’s “preferred” regulation. After a leaked copy of the report went public, officials asked the contractors to compare job estimates to a model in which another regulation was enforced, rather than the real world numbers.

“It’s not the real world, this is rulemaking,” an OSM official tells a skeptical contractor on the recording.

“If we’re to assume [the 2008 rule] is enforced in the coal-producing states, this is a very small [impact],” the contractor replies. “But that, as you said, is not the real world, that’s pretending … I thought we were looking at what’s going to change in Kentucky, what’s going to change in Pennsylvania, what’s going to change in Ohio, what’s going to change in Wyoming.”

When a second OSM official makes light of the “theoretical discussion,” the contractor shoots back that “his [the OSM official’s proposed criteria] was theoretical, mine was practical.”

The agency fired the contractors studying the rule less than one month later.

The House Natural Resources Committee obtained the tapes from an unidentified third party after OSM provided heavily redacted transcripts—the exchange above, for example, was blacked out—and withheld the audio recordings.

Rep. Bill Johnson (R., Ohio) blasted the administration’s refusal to cooperate with the investigation.

“The tapes validated many of our concerns that the administration went into this with an intent of devastating the coal industry, fully knowing that the provisions in the proposed rule would put 7,000 jobs at risk,” he said. “And they wanted to get away with it by playing pretend.”

The committee has served OSM with two subpoenas since the beginning of the year. Department officials denied any wrongdoing and accused the committee of launching a political witch-hunt.

  107. JBStones Fan,

Perhaps you are also not aware of this now viral clip of a kid being bullied by a high school teacher after he criticized BO.

She basically screams at him and tells him he can go to jail for criticizing BO.

THAT is where the country is headed if everyone doesn’t get off their arse and fight for ABO. He can’t win as long as there are enough of us willing to NOT spout the party line.

I hope you don’t have kids in the public misinformation system.

Here’s a comment from DC as well as raw video. As a lawyer yourself I’d be interested to hear your opinion on this dingbat AA teacher’s rants. She’s now been suspended.
    *********************************************************************

After a debate about presidential hopeful Mitt Romney and President Obama got personal, a teacher at North Rowan High School in Spencer, N.C. warned a student that speaking ill of Obama could lead to his arrest.

On Monday, Rowan-Salisbusy school officials suspended Tanya Dixon-Neely, with pay, for making that comment and others in her social studies class.

The Salisbury Post first reported told the student that he could be jailed for slandering the president, and that several people were arrested for talking negatively about President Bush.

  108. JBStonesfan, you have to learn to ignore the polls as overtly biased just like this Washington Post hitpiece.

WaPo Attacks Romney for ‘Mormon Militia’ Action 150 Years Ago
    11:00 AM, May 21, 2012 • By DANIEL HALPER

(Only halfway through the article do we learn that it was actually the Mormons who generally faced persecution. “The massacre was an anomaly for the church, because it was Mormons who were more likely to be targeted in the early days of their religion, which was founded in the 1830s and 1840s,” the paper concedes. “Mormons had been attacked by mobs and forcibly ejected from states.”)

Reporting from Carrollton, Arkansas, the Washington Post finds some locals still upset with actions of a “Mormon militia” over 150 years ago. The Post reports:

On Sept. 11, 1857, a wagon train from this part of Arkansas met with a gruesome fate in Utah, where most of the travelers were slaughtered by a Mormon militia in an episode known as the Mountain Meadows Massacre. Hundreds of the victims’ descendants still populate these hills and commemorate the killings, which they have come to call “the first 9/11.”
Many of the locals grew up hearing denunciations of Mormonism from the pulpit on Sundays, and tales of the massacre from older relatives who considered Mormons “evil.”
But the main concern of the paper is … will this hurt Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney?

The article, headlined “Mitt Romney’s Mormon faith tangles with a quirk of Arkansas history,” attacks Romney for being a Mormon, because, according to the paper, his coreligionists and ancestors were responsible for “the first 9/11.”

    *************************************************************************
And yet, there is scant evidence that Romney’s religion is making much difference in how voters here are thinking about the presidential election and whether they are willing to back the former Massachusetts governor.

The Wagist and Conservative Tree House exposed video of Trayvon Martin attending and possibly refereeing a local fight club brawl in Miami.

The video was uploaded on Trayvon Martin’s YouTube Channel.
At least, the video “Anthony vs. Curtis” was there last month.

But, after his death the video was later scrubbed from his YouTube Channel. Here is the YouTube account today.

The video “Anthony vs. Curtis” has since been re-uploaded to YouTube. The video shows Trayvon engaged in actual and intentional violent conduct. You’ll notice Trayvon in the video, wearing a white cap with the striped shirt. You can hear his name called out about 5 seconds into the video.

You can also see Trayvon’s tattoo in the video.

The address of the home pictured in the other videos is linked to Trayvon’s mother Sybrina Fulton. I will not post the family’s home address here but it is clear that this is Trayvon’s YouTube account and his mother’s home. It appears that Trayvon was involved in and enjoyed underground fights. Certainly, he was not the little angelic child the MSM made him out to be.

    CORRECTION
    By Katrina Trinko
    May 18, 2012 6:00 P.M. Comments30
UPDATE: I took down my earlier post on Elizabeth Warren plagiarizing from the book Getting On the Money Track. On Amazon.com, the Warren book All Your Worth is listed as having been published January 9, 2006. As it turns out, that is the paperback publication date; the hardback book was published in March 2005. As such, it appears that Getting on the Money Track (published in October 2005) plagiarized from All Your Worth, not the other way around.
    I apologize for the error.

From the comments at the site:
According to amazon.com, Warren’s book was published on March 1, 2005 (External Link ); Black’s book was published on Oct. 14, 2005 (External Link ). How could Warren have plagiarized from a book that appeared several months after her book was published?(These external links are clickable at the site).

So, the writer of the accusation, Trinko, or any NRO fact-checker, could have found out the charge was not worth making. Instead, NRO put it out as fact into the Rightwing echo chamber.

  115. So let’s see. Previous to 1984, the Warren family decided that it would be good to fake an Indian ancestry to help Elizabeth. So a cousin made a connection with the Five Civilized Tribes Museum and got them to publish a cookbook just so Elizabeth and her mother and children could contribute some recipes to a 1984 book.

No other reason for the cookbook project. None of the people involved believed the ancestory story was true. Total cold-blooded fabrication for the purpose of fraud.

That’s what the charges amount to.

The U.S. Senate candidate is listed as a Cherokee under five recipes she is credited for in the book edited by her cousin Candy Rowsey that shares recipes from the Five Civilized Tribes.
    [….]
‘Cherokee’: Elizabeth Warren is listed as a Native American in the 1984 cookbook Pow Wow Chow, which was edited by her cousin, Candy Rowsey
In the cookbook, Warren’s recipes are featured alongside her mother’s directions for sugar cake and her two children’s recipe for peach cobbler.
    [….]
The book published by the Five Civilized Tribes Museum also lists directions from Warren on how to make a Mexican oatmeal soup.

  116. Penn really goes off on Barry for joking about his drug use, being cool using the words, “…a little blow” and more…
    ——-

Penn Jillette Goes On Epic Obama Weed Tirade n a recent episode of his podcast “Penn’s Sunday School,” comedian Penn Jillette laid his opinions on the Obama drug policies out on the table.
Jillette, who has never done drugs or drank alcohol in his life, expressed particular concern over the policies’ broad-sweeping, all-inclusive nature. Namely, that people are going to prison because of marijuana use.

“Now, he has not left this to states’ rights,” Jillette posited. “As you know, medical marijuana… you can get in California, and the feds are coming in to try to stop this. States’ rights don’t mean jack sh*t to the Obama administration on anything except gay marriage.”

    PENN:

What troubles me about this… I think it’s beyond hypocrisy. I think it’s something to do with class.

A lot of people have accused Obama of class warfare, but in the wrong direction. I believe this is Obama chortling with Jimmy Fallon about lower class people.

Do we believe, even for a second, that if Obama had been busted for marijuana — under the laws that he condones — would his life have been better? If Obama had been caught with the marijuana that he says he uses, and ‘maybe a little blow’… if he had been busted under his laws, he would have done hard f*cking time. And if he had done time in prison, time in federal prison, time for his ‘weed’ and ‘a little blow,’ he would not be President of the United States of America. He would not have gone to his fancy-a** college, he would not have sold books that sold millions and millions of copies and made millions and millions of dollars, he would not have a beautiful, smart wife, he would not have a great job. He would have been in f*cking prison, and it’s not a god damn joke. People who smoke marijuana must be set free. It is insane to lock people up.

Could you elaborate on what Tingles said today?

GBY for sneaking over to the enemy camp.

  118. More about the Bain blunder.

Team Obama is in a panic because their entire playbook is falling apart.

Bain Backfire: Obama Camp in ‘Full Damage Control Mode’

Today at the Chicago NATO Summit Obama told the audience:

[Bain Capital] is not a distraction, this is what this campaign is gonna be about.
Meanwhile, back at campaign headquarters, Team Obama is in full meltdown mode after Newark Mayor Cory Booker went off script, undermining and mocking “what this campaign is going to be about.”

    ABC News:

The Obama campaign is in full damage-control mode one day after Newark Mayor Cory Booker publicly derided Democrats’ assault on presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney over his record at Bain Capital.

Chief Obama strategist David Axelrod today publicly rebuked Booker, a popular and high-profile surrogate for the campaign, saying he was “just wrong.”

“I love Cory Booker. He’s a great mayor. If I were, if my house was on fire, I’d hope he were my next door neighbor,” Axelrod said on MSNBC, referring to Booker’s rescue of a neighbor last month.

“I agree with what he said later. I think this was a legitimate area for discussion,” Axelrod said of Booker’s subsequent comments clarifying the issue.

But Booker isn’t the only Democrat already tired and made uncomfortable by Obama’s divisive attacks on the risk-takers who create the jobs and this country’s wealth. Below you’ll see an ad the Romney campaign released today with more Democrats going “off-script” on the subject of Bain — an ad that not only proves Romney already has a rapid response team up and running but that it’s a very effective rapid response team.

If Obama loses the Bain Capital battle, he’ll probably lose the election. All a failed incumbent can do is toxify their opponent into some unelectable, and this is a failed incumbent who has staked his entire campaign on divisive class warfare and envy.

Team Obama is in a panic because their entire playbook is falling apart.

  120. WALL STREET INSIDER: Can John Roberts Save America?

by Ulsterman on May 21, 2012

“Mr. John Roberts and his fellow Supreme Court members very likely have the fate of the United States in their hands. I ask that you pray to God their decision serves much needed rightful justice for our nation. That decision is now imminent.” -WSI

NOTE: The following is a written message received by a longtime Wall Street Insider who, for the past year, has been warning of the dangerous anti-free market extremism of the Obama administration.

    ______________________

    Dear Friend,

I write you now to comply with your earlier request that I keep you updated regarding anything I would come to know involving the Supreme Court deliberations and the fate of the single most dangerous legislation and threat to freedom in our lifetime, Obamacare. The decision of the Court is to be announced soon. While I do not know the specifics of the actual decision, I have been informed the administration is preparing for the worst. Of course the worst for them is what is best for America.

Directly related to this information of an imminent decision by the Court, is the outrage among some within the Obama administration that the Court may counter their own intentions for the nation. And please know I use the term outrage most appropriately in this instance as that is exactly what is being communicated by key figures within and directly attached to, the Obama White House. They very much want to be rid of at least one more conservative member of the Court, and have made contingency plans should that opportunity be made available to them. A number of meetings have been held focusing solely on how they will react should the ruling come out against Obamacare. The medical, drug, and insurance industries have, as would be expected, been keeping a very watchful eye on these discussions and are themselves preparing a number of contingency plans based upon potential Court rulings.
    Read more in News
« Top Iranian Military Commander Planning “Full Annihilation of Israel”

The consensus appears to be, based on those I am in communication with, there will likely be some form of partial victory for both sides. The mandate will be struck down, but most of the individual consumer protections are to be left intact. From there, the Court will attempt to push the issue to Congress, which of course will be paralyzed until after the 2012 Elections. If the election goes well for conservatives, that will leave almost all of Obamacare being placed upon the “scrap heap of history” where it very much deserves to be.

There is a caveat in all of this. One source, a prominent figure within the military (Don’t ask me how someone within the military would have access or even concern over the Obamacare debate as I don’t actually know. I am simply grateful for their information, information that you yourself utilized to great effect quite recently) has indicated Chief Justice John Roberts is executing an enormous amount of focus and energy on making the final ruling NOT be a split ruling. By that I mean to say he wants the vote to be 6-3, not 5-4. Apparently Roberts has indicated growing concern that a 5-4 vote would actually benefit Barack Obama in the upcoming election as a motivating tool to create what was described to me as a “backlash” vote. I found this quite interesting as such a thing had never crossed my mind. It is that kind of tactical reasoning that often escapes me. Our mutual friend of course is far better at recognizing such things long before I ever would. (And on that subject I have directly requested they are to meet with you in person before the end of this month, so expect to hear from them very soon.)

So with that information in hand, if the decision comes down 6-3, it will not only be a victory against Barack Obama, but also perhaps a just as important victory for the efforts of Chief Justice Roberts who does not wish to see the decision utilized as a political tool that will benefit the very administration that has brought the country to this highly unstable and uncertain point in the first place. A 5-4 decision must then be seen as only a partial victory that leaves the potential for much danger in the near term, as it may well provide the kind of motivation among voters for Barack Obama that he currently no longer enjoys. And if Barack Obama gains a second term, he and those who support his anti-American belief system, will succeed in appointing a greater number of liberal extremist judges to the Court, and at that point, I truly believe there is no returning for the United States. What it was will cease to be.

Mr. John Roberts and his fellow Supreme Court members very likely have the fate of the United States in their hands. I ask that you pray to God their decision serves much needed rightful justice for our nation. That decision is now imminent as is the fate of this blessed land.

As Scott Brown is trying to do to Elizabeth Warren. (With help of Obama’s capitalist cronies and corporate media.)

  122. Basil…

after you watch that clip…btw…notice how Matthews is now talking about the “horror of Cory Booker”…anyway the part that i find fascinating is that O is out to destroy Mitt on his business experience and to try to pigeon hole Mitt…but the truth is Romney has a 3 prong buffer for experience…

    Romney has:
his business experience – Bain – Stapes, Sports Authority, etc…

his ‘saving’ the Utah Olympics experience

and (drum roll) his ‘Governor of Mass’ (and working with Dem Congress) experience

vs …the shrinking, shrill ‘been there, done that’ O failures…one term is enough

  123. I guess the evil Warren plot goes back to 1966. They must have fabricated the Indian museum which published the evil “Pow Wow Chow” cookbook, too.

Oh, woops, the Warren family fraud museum began earlier! Maybe back before 1930. All these people pretending to be Indians, so they could try to sneak Eliz into Harvard….

  124. Speaking of people who claim connections with Native Americans. In this case, it’s Mormons making the claim. Unless the “great civilization” that Lehi’s group became, was something different than, and unnoticed by, the Native Americans we’re familiar with.

    http://mormon.org/faq/what-is-book-of-mormon/
[ The Book of Mormon ] contains the writings of ancient prophets. One of these, Lehi, lived in Jerusalem around 600 B.C. God commanded Lehi to lead a small group of people to the American continent. There they became a great civilization.
God continued to call prophets among these people. The Book of Mormon is a collection of the writings of their prophets and record keepers. It is named after Mormon, one of the last of these ancient prophets.

  125. Ok Basil99. Got the message . Have not visited RCP in awhile, and
was just surprised as at first we had the NYT poll with Romney slightly up and then the Fox poll with O up by 7.

  126. So just before the Arkansas Primary we hear about how the Mormons murdered ARKANSAS settlers. Hum! We’re in AR visiting relatives. Lots of people around these parts are voting for John Wolf even though they have been told their vote won’t count as far as delegates go.

ABO is really strong in this part of the state so BO will have to do better with the Romney smears…I mean…”info” to change their minds. And we are talking about dyed in the wool life time Democrats who are for anyone but THE FRAUD.

  127. But I must mention that there are many people who are so disgusted by the whole vote stealing record of Obama and what he did to Hillary that they say they are not even going to waste their time going to the polls because the Democrats will do whatever it takes to put BO in again. I do think they will vote in the General and it will NOT be for Barack Obama that’s for sure.

So just before the Arkansas Primary we hear about how the Mormons murdered ARKANSAS settlers. Hum! We’re in AR visiting relatives. Lots of people around these parts are voting for John Wolf even though they have been told their vote won’t count as far as delegates go.

  130. As I said about the Catholic Church when Obama dictated his policy to them for providing contraception to Catholics: “They will rise up!”
    And here it is:

    Catholic Church Sues Obama Administration

Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Archbishop of New York, has joined with Cardinal Donald Wuerl, Archbishop of Washington D.C., the University of Notre Dame, and 40 other U.S. Catholic dioceses and organizations in a lawsuit against the Obama administration. Twelve different lawsuits, charging the administration with violation of the Church’s First Amendment right to freedom of religion, are being filed in federal courts around the nation.

The Archdiocese of Washington D.C. has established a website, preservereligiousfreedom.org, to explain the lawsuit and its development. The website states:

This lawsuit is about an unprecedented attack by the federal government on one of America’s most cherished freedoms: the freedom to practice one’s religion without government interference. It is not about whether people have access to certain services; it is about whether the government may force religious institutions and individuals to facilitate and fund services which violate their religious beliefs.

In a statement on Monday morning, Cardinal Dolan, head of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), said:

Time is running out, and our valuable ministries and fundamental rights hang in the balance, so we have to resort to the courts now. Though the Conference is not a party to the lawsuits, we applaud this courageous action by so many individual dioceses, charities, hospitals and schools across the nation, in coordination with the law firm of Jones Day. It is also a compelling display of the unity of the Church in defense of religious liberty. It’s also a great show of the diversity of the Church’s ministries that serve the common good and that are jeopardized by the mandate–ministries to the poor, the sick, and the uneducated, to people of any faith or no faith at all.

More information about the 12 lawsuits is provided at cnsnews.com.

  133. N.C. Teacher Suspended for Hectoring Students About Respecting Obama

Yesterday, Breitbart News reported a story about a North Carolina high school teacher who began screaming at students who dared to criticize President Obama. Today, the teacher in question, Tanya Dixon-Neely, was suspended with pay by the school.

The roughly 10-minute video reveals the social studies teacher yelling at students for speaking disrespectfully of President Obama. The classroom discussion started with an accusation of bullying by Mitt Romney which was apparently raised by the teacher herself. However, when a student in the class asks if Obama had admitted to similar bullying incidents in his book Dreams from My Father, the teacher begins yelling that she will not tolerate disrespect of the President in her class. She later goes on to say that people were arrested for criticizing President Bush.

Asked about the teacher’s behavior last Friday, the school initially said the incident could be a “learning experience.” By Monday, after the story picked up steam here at Breitbart News and elsewhere, the school seems to have decided a more formal investigation is in order. A school spokesman gave a new statement to the Salisbury Post which focused on professionalism in the classroom:

It was said, there are no Teachers Union in NC- She should be fired. This teacher needs a mandated refresher course on the Constitution before she returns to the classroom. The student standing up to authority should be commended for standing his/her ground on the issue and the example for what Americans stand for… Freedom of Speech.

  134. Exclusive Poll: 74% of Adults Believe Religious Freedom Trumps ObamaCare

Barack Obama’s pavlovian adherence to a progressive worldview has sparked an unexpected challenge to his reelection hopes: his administration’s “war” on the Catholic Church.

Earlier this year, the Obama Administration, implementing ObamaCare, finalized regulations that would require all employers, including religious institutions, to provide free access to contraceptives, abortion-inducing drugs and sterilizations. Under the rule, religious institutions would be required to provide these services, which went against their religious beliefs, to all their employees. And, they would have to absorb the full cost of these services. Breitbart News has access to a poll suggesting this plan is backfiring badly for the Obama Administration.

One of the best political analysts in the country thinks that Mitt Romney‘s odds of winning the presidency are pretty good.

“Nobody can win the presidency if they lose the independent vote by 10 to 20 points, which is where I reckon things are headed. Things could change of course, but I’d much rather be Romney than Obama at this stage.”

  138. This Bain stuff is getting on my last nerve.

I don’t remember the numbers off the top of my head, but when the bots first started talking about Bain and that steel plant, I remember them screaming about an article that told how many millions Bain walked away with from the bankrupt company. OMG! THE HORROR!

So I read the article. And I saw that Bain’s initial investment in the company was X million. And that that money stayed there, trying to finance restructuring the company, for ten years. So like a sane person, I did some very simple math.

Turned out that the Bain investors got something like a modest 6% return on their investment when you compounded over 10 years. Hardly predatory.

These idiots don’t understand how private equity works. They don’t understand that the company agrees to certain protections for the investors they are wooing, if the situation is such that to invest in their already badly failing company is a big risk. They also don’t understand that all that “greedy greedy profit” did NOT just go into the pockets of rich Bain execs. It also got distributed to shareholders, many of whom are large pension plans and ordinary everyday working people’s company retirement funds.

Bain’s record is that of the companies they invest in, around 80% do well. Around 20% don’t make it. For a private equity firm that by definition invests in riskier companies – whether newer startups or older failing ones, that’s pretty damn good.

So the next time you look at your own 401K quarterly report, just remember that that money is invested in real companies, handled by real entities like Bain. Perhaps that 6% increase over ten years, that you observe and think “Okay, not too bad” is the source of some idiot Obot screaming UNFAAAAIIIRRR!!!!! YOU DIDN’T DESERVE THAT MONEY BECUZ YOU NEVER WORKED ON THE FACTORY FLOOOR!! And they are right – you didn’t. Your money worked. Your money kept the firm afloat. If not for your money, they would have gone bankrupt 10 years earlier than they did. And you got paid, not for the sweat of your brow, but for the risk you took. The more risk, the greater potential return.

I don’t care if they want to talk about Bain. Have at it. But they should educate their fucking selves first, because the Obots are sounding like goddamned morons throwing around numbers that it’s painfully obvious they have no frigging clue what they actually mean.

  139. turndown, I would like to take $100 from you. But instead, I think I will only take $50. Hey, look, I just gave you the $50 you have left in your pocket! You should be grateful to me for the $50 you have (even though you previously had $100.) Because I GAVE you that 50.

Referring to the govt refraining from taking as a “subsidy” or “giving” someone something, or an “expense” to the govt, is just asinine. The fact that I did not take the full 100 does not mean I gave you a damn thing. Even if I left you with the full 100 of YOUR money, I still gave not GIVEN you squat. I have merely refrained from taking it.

    snip to last few lines
The president continues to propose moving us “forward” with various pricey social engineering schemes — like lowering subsidized college loan rates, helping homeowners refinance at current mortgage rates and providing tax credits for investments in “clean energy manufacturing.” Unlike President Bill Clinton, who recognized the public disenchantment with the grand plans of his first term and retrenched by signing election-year legislation to reform welfare, Obama continues to press his agenda undiluted. Now his mistake has been distilled into a slogan more likely to repel voters than rally them.

Keith Koffler, who covered the White House as a reporter for CongressDaily and Roll Call, is editor of the blog White House Dossier.

  143. I really don’t mind if an actual real live communist attacks Bain’s model. Because at least they are being honest. At least they have a consistent position that private profit is always bad, and the means of production should not be privately financed. It should be put in the hands of “the worker” via the govt, and the whole model of which Bain is a part needs to be changed.

I vehemently disagree with that communist. But at least he/she is making an honest argument. This bullshit of “it’s bad if THEY do it, but not others, and I really have no argument why” makes me nuts. They throw around phrases like “fairness” and “the workers” and “profit” with no clue how those things connect to the whole.

Can they tell me specifically what Bain did that was bad? Are they saying that companies that employ workers should never go bankrupt? Should they all be propped up? Should they all be bailed out, and those jobs “saved”? With whose money? What’s your mechanism for investing and finance that is so very different from how companies like Bain are doing it? Please explain. What’s your alternative model? The communist can. They can’t. Make your fucking argument or STFU.

  144. Obama could actually lose Democratic primaries in two states today? Americans creating a trend?

    This is embarrassing.

It’s possible President Barack Obama could lose the Democratic primaries in Arkansas and Kentucky today.

What to Watch in Today’s Primaries:

    Via ABC News:

“In Arkansas, John Wolfe, an attorney from Tennessee, is on the ballot against President Obama. Obama’s approval ratings are low in Arkansas, and Wolfe could easily get a sizable percentage of the vote, potentially even pull off a victory (seems less likely.) Recent polling showed Wolfe close to Obama in the state. …

There is no named opponent on the Democratic primary ballot in Kentucky other than Obama, but voters will have the option of checking off “uncommitted.” Kentucky is another state in which Obama has low approval ratings, and where no one expects him to win in the general election. Still, a poor showing to an “uncommitted” box in an intra-party contest will hardly be uplifting for Obama.

  145. I really, really hate hollowed out thoughtless radical chic – this crap of buzzwords and criticism with no real economic philosophy or understanding behind it. If you’re going to wear that Che shirt or carry that Mao poster, then be prepared to fucking defend it, and know what you are defending. I’m not mad because they are all communists (they aren’t). I’m mad because they are morons who have no idea what they are saying. They want to jump on this or that instance of “unfairness”, but cannot for the life of them explain how that instance connects to the whole, how they’d change it, and what the consequences of doing it “some other way” would be.

Want to make a law that companies like Bain lose their shirt when a plant they invest in goes under? Okay, fine. What would be the result? Because, cupcake, the result most certainly would NOT be that Bain out of the goodness of their hearts would continue to invest in places like that failing steel mill, and all those jobs woulda been SAVED! Yay!

Without the prospect of a good payday, and some guarantees of being first in line, they simply would have never invested at all. The scenario where the only thing that would change is that Bain goes under with the company, so it’s all nice and “fair”. does not exist outside your pollyanna little peabrain.

Obama campaign heads ‘forward’ to the abyss –
    _________

The only one that doesn’t seen to understand his re-election is in serious doubt, is Obama!

Does Obama think when 85% of the country doesn’t seem to want him in the White House next year that he can hornswaggle the voting public with his planned subjugation of voting results reflecting a close election when the country’s consensus votes otherwise?

  147. “various pricey social engineering schemes — like lowering subsidized college loan rates,”

[ See Hillary’s statement in 2008 that college loan rates are too high now, without the government program that put her own college loans at 4%. ]

helping homeowners refinance at current mortgage rates

[ See Hillary’s op-ed in late 2008, “Let’s keep people in their homes”, recommending a new HOLC. ]

and providing tax credits for investments in “clean energy manufacturing.”

[ See Hillary’s recent statement about supporting clean air etc. ]

[ Btw, I don’t see how any of these qualify as ‘social engineering’. What might qualify better, is Romney’s putting welfare mothers back to work when their children are two, so that the two year old baby “can see the dignity of work.” And many conservative flaps about ‘defending marriage’ etc. ]

    ================

  148. Cttoi, legislation toward fewer abortions, fewer unwed pregnancies, abstinence-only ‘sex ed’ etc — are real ‘social engineering’. As are measures against gay marriage, against domestic partnerships, against gay adoption, etc.

‘Social engineering’ seems to be used as a buzz-word by conservatives, meaning anything they don’t like?

  149. “If you’re going to wear that Che shirt or carry that Mao poster, then be prepared to fucking defend it, and know what you are defending.”

H4T- Love the Fire in your belly- and hope others follow suit knowing the NBP’s attitude of “hate speech” towards whites will unfortunately force the KKK back into action to handle these radical animals assaulting the civil rights movement. The NBP are risking the passion, soul and dedication of their forefathers, true activists who spent their lives working for the commonalty of equal rights and unbiased racism setting our country back 100 yrs. All because of THEIR inability for transcendence into a homogenous harmonious mainstream society.

They deserve what they get if they continue the disruptive inflammatory hate speech. An ill wind is brewing now that they have stated their objectives thinking they can repeat their voter intimidation at the polls for those choosing to vote for anyone other than Obama.

We’re having a Big July 4th Party outside of Dallas celebrating on the weekend of 6-30.. If you are interested, please drop me a line at the above address…

  151. Admin, have you seen this delicious article comparing Obama as party leader to Bill Clinton, which includes an interview with Hillary Democrat Ed Rendell? Can you imagine Obama’s reaction when he sees something like this? Oh my….

Former Pensylvania Governor Ed Rendell said it would be unfair to compare Obama’s aides to Clinton’s operation.

“You’re comparing them to the gold standard,” Rendell told BuzzFeed.
    (snip)
And Rendell joined the chorus of criticism of Obama’s attacks on finance, whose leaders have written checks to many members of both parties.

“I think they’re very disappointing,” Rendell said of the ads attacking Bain. “I think Bain is fair game, because Romney has made it fair game. But I think how you examine it, the tone, what you say, is important as well.”

As for Booker, “I admire him,” Rendell said. “People in politics should tell the truth. He could have qualified it better, he could have framed it better, but if you’re in this business, none of us like negative ads.”
    (snip)
“I think this lack of skillful outreach to major surrogates and leaders is similar to what has also been viewed as tepid treatment of donors/bundlers,” said one former aide to Hillary Clinton in an email, comparing Clinton’s cadre of professional, type A Beltway schmoozers like former DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe with the low key likes of Obama aide David Axelrod.

In Clinton-loving Arkansas today, everyone here can help by finding on-line local news sites, registering, and making comments urging people to vote for Wolfe/ABO. Have fun!

What is it with teachers – black teachers? Was it North Carolina or South Caroina during the last stolen election that a black teacher harassed students about ObaMAO? Now North Carolina????? I know there are a lot of hardworking and caring teachers out there…………but why have they not found their voice to protest UNIONS and the indoctrianation of our children? I was so ashamed to have ever been a teacher on the one note – when they marched with Communists in the One Nation March.

  153. LOL! So Obama says the election is all about Bain? Mitt is playing this smart. Because Obama forgets that Bain is not the only thing Romney has to tout as experience.

I think Mitt is going to let Obama beat this Bain thing to death until it’s old news. He’s going to respond, and defend his record at Bain, and Bain will end up kind of a draw. Then Mitt will move on to his time as MA gov, his time overseeing the Olympics, and Obama’s complete lack of experience at anything but community organizing, with no results to show for it. Just like he has no results from his 4 year presidency.

I think Mitt right now has him hooked and is letting that fish run and play out line. The fact that Obama, 5 months before the election, has NOTHING to run on but bashing Mitt on this or that, and is being forced to play all his cards this early to try to stop the momentum against him, is telling. Obama has not put out a single argument designed to rally Independents to him. ALL of his “topics” have been geared to shore up his activist base, not win moderates or swing voters.

That is not what you do as a sitting president unless you are in deep shit.

  154. Thanks for the invite, Mrs. Smith! Will think about it.

I love that Ed Rendell article. Ed damning with faint praise compared to “gold standard” Clinton, and you know that he knows exactly how much that will drive Obama crazy.

  155. Not that we have been isolated from propaganda and disinformation- ahem- (Hillary said this and Hillary said that..) Hillary did say in 08′: “Obama is not the right man for the job of president.”

And you can take that to the Bank!

Hillary’s policies are NOT synonymous with Obama’s policies.
    __________________

With Corruption, Injustice And Propaganda For All

Often, media outlets provide headlines of shocking abuses of the state from abroad that leave Americans feeling happy that they reside in the land of the free. But things happening right here in the United States are slowly leading the Nation to the very type of despotism that its citizens are appalled to see occurring in other parts of the world.

Here are five signs that the United States is becoming a totalitarian country where people are fed disinformation and beaten into submission not by sinister-looking soldiers, but by their teachers and local police:

    1. At North Rowan High School in North Carolina a high school social studies teacher told her students that not only would she not tolerate students speaking ill of President Barack Obama, but also that they could be arrested for doing so.

Sadly, the incident is not isolated and illustrates part of the broader problem that the United States public education system functions as little more than an indoctrination machine. Routinely, students are subject to school lessons that fail to teach them to read proficiently and to do basic math and science work.

In fact, students in the U.S. perform far worse than their international peers in those areas. Instead, U.S. high school students are educated to feel good about themselves and about people living alternative lifestyles.

They are taught that U.S. foreign and economic policy are paramount, that global warming will kill us all and that rational self-interest should never be a motivation for anything. Upon graduating, many of them go to college where they receive an accelerated version of the aforementioned curriculum. After that, with no capacity for thought or self-improvement, they join the ranks of the unemployed or underemployed and are helped along by the Nanny State.

#2 In many countries, there is no such thing as fair trial, and accusations are enough for imprisonment. Since 1989, re-examination of evidence has freed more than 2,000 people who were sitting in prisons throughout the U.S. because of wrongful convictions. Experts say there are likely thousands more who deserve exoneration. Each day, overzealous prosecutors, motivated by the prospect of gaining higher authority in the bureaucracy of the justice system, use tactics that send innocent people to prison.

#3 Not only is justice being removed from the court system, but law enforcement agencies increasingly rely on entrapment to quell dissidence and validate their increasingly militaristic nature. The FBI repeatedly preys on mentally disturbed and inept individuals and coerces them into agreeing to perform outlandish and often impossible “terror” attacks that otherwise would not have happened.

#4 In many developing countries, it is common for police to bribe people with the threat of false imprisonment if their demands are not met. This has also become common practice in the United States. Police in Brown County, Wis., recently stole $7,500 from Beverly Greer, stating that the money — which she had gotten out of a series of ATMs to pay her son’s bail — had traces of narcotics on it. This was done through civil asset forfeiture, a policy that lets police confiscate money and property with very little evidence to connect them to drug activity. The assets usually go back to the coffers of the police department that confiscated them. In most instances, individuals whose property is stolen by police are never convicted of a crime.

#5 Images of street riots and of people in foreign countries being brutally beaten by authorities are always shocking to Americans. But it is probably going on in a city near you as you are reading this and will likely intensify in coming months. Though many Americans aren’t too worried about police crackdowns on raucous protesters because they don’t get involved in such situations, it is worth noting that tyranny historically makes massive power gains in times of chaos. Some people posit that growing and increasingly violent protests will result in the Federal government’s implementation of martial control over the entire American populace, possibly aided by foreign governments.

Teachers and police were once lionized for their selfless service to communities. But the positions have become so bureaucratized and given so much power in recent years that they have become attractive career paths for sociopaths and statists. More and more often, these once public service jobs are becoming burgeoning examples of how the state is taking control.

These are only a few examples of how the United States is beginning to embrace propagandist, unjust and brutal policies to control its people. Each day, more examples are offered in the headlines and are pushed on to Americans as positives that will make them safer and healthier. But the truth is that the general public of the United States will only become dumber and more submissive to the ruling elite with each passing day.

In 08′- it was NC that accused the Clintons of racism. Regarding the NC Teacher… I don’t know if she is sincere in her belief someone would be arrested for criticizing the president. But as a teacher, she should have found a source reinforcing her position. I think she may have been confused with the language of a death threat to the president rather than a banal criticism of the president allowable under the First Amendment Right to Free Speech. It’s too bad she squandered a teachable moment defining the difference to her students. Hopefully, her school administrator will give her a clue handing her a booklet containing the Constitutional Amendments and have her tested for awareness with nothing less than an acceptable grade of 100% before she is allowed to resume teaching another class.

    CLUSIVE
Hawaii Five-O: Sheriff Joe sends detectives to Honolulu

In a major development in his probe of Barack Obama’s eligibility for Arizona’s 2012 presidential ballot, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has dispatched his lead Cold Case Posse investigator and a deputy detective to Hawaii.

The mission to Obama’s purported birthplace comes as the Hawaii Department of Health continues to resist efforts by Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett to verify that the Honolulu agency has a valid birth certificate on file for Obama.

Former Bergen County, N.J., detective Mike Zullo and his volunteer team were commissioned by Arpaio last September to investigate Obama’s eligibility after citizens raised concerns about the authenticity of the birth record the White House posted on its website. Zullo’s team announced March 1 that it found probable cause that the document is a forgery.

Sign the petition now to show members of Congress how many Americans demand constitutional integrity.

Zullo’s investigation is a volunteer effort, but the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has sent him to Hawaii with an MCSO deputy detective for safety reasons and to act as a liaison between MCSO and local law enforcement.

WND reporter Jerome Corsi is embedded with the investigators in Hawaii with the provision that reporting during the trip be curtailed to protect the investigation.

Arpaio told WND Friday that the Hawaii Department of Health’s refusal to confirm to Bennett that it has a valid Obama birth certificate on file makes it look like Hawaii officials “are hiding something.”

Bennett has said that he might keep Obama’s name off of the state’s presidential ballot if he doesn’t receive the confirmation.

Eight weeks ago, the secretary of state asked Hawaii officials merely for an email confirming the Department of Health has a certified copy of the birth certificate, but Hawaii officials have not complied.

Zullo told WND Friday that Hawaii’s refusal to comply “is just another outright, glaring display of stonewalling that the Sheriff’s Office has encountered since Day One conducting this investigation.”

Zullo said “common sense at this point should be everyone’s guide.”

“If this was a non-issue, it wouldn’t be going on eight weeks waiting for the state of Hawaii to verify anything,” he said.

Over the weekend, KTVK-TV in Phoenix reported the Hawaii attorney general’s office has told Bennett he needs to take certain steps to confirm Obama’s birth records.

The steps include Bennett proving that he “legitimately needs confirmation to update records at his office.”

Zullo told WND that Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office investigators have spoken at length with Bennett regarding the president’s birth record. Zullo said his team spoke with Bennett as recently as last week.

“We are in the beginning stages of enlightening him to critical information that the sheriff has acquired during this investigation,” Zullo said.

‘It looks like they’re hiding something’

Arpaio’s team also is investigating the president’s Selective Service registration form, which his team also found probable cause to be a forgery.

He told WND he’s not getting much cooperation with federal and state governments.

“But that doesn’t matter; we’re still going to continue our investigation and see if those documents are forged,” he said.

Does anyone really know where Obama is from? Find out the startling truth from New York Times best-selling author Jerome Corsi.

Regarding the Hawaii Department of Health, Arpaio noted he’s said since the beginning of the investigation last fall, “Show me the microfilm.”

“They won’t do that, so it looks like they’re hiding something,” he said.

Arpaio said he will continue his investigation regardless of whether or not Obama gets on the ballot.

In an interview last Thursday with Phoenix radio host Mike Broomhead of KFYI, Bennett was asked if he would remove Obama’s name from the ballot if Hawaii won’t reply to his request.

“That’s possible. Or the other option would be that I would ask all the candidates, including the president, to submit a certified copy of their birth certificate,” Bennett said.

Bennett explained that under Hawaii law, government officials can request verification that the state has possession of a valid birth certificate.

“They could say yes tomorrow, and the whole thing goes away,” Bennett said. “If they can’t say yes to that simple question, then it makes me wonder if we have to take it to another level.”

Bennett said that regardless of Hawaii’s response, he needs “to have to have some simple verification that people are qualified for the office if they’re going to be on the ballot here in Arizona.”

The Arizona official insisted he’s not a “birther” and denied he’s trying to appease “birthers” because he wants to run for governor.

“I believe the president was born in Hawaii – or at least I hope he was,” Bennett said.

  161. Good ad showing how middle class parents and their college grad kids are floundering under the POS.

  162. ABC poll shows dead heat even with skewed polling samples heavily weighted toward POS.

After months of aggressive campaigning on jobs and the economy, President Obama and Mitt Romney, his likely Republican challenger, are locked in a dead heat over who could fix the problem foremost on voters’ minds, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

The parity on economic issues foreshadows what probably will continue to be a tough and negative campaign. Overall, voters would be split 49 percent for Obama and 46 percent for Romney if the November election were held now. On handling the economy, they are tied at 47 percent.

Despite flare-ups over issues including contraception and same-sex marriage, more than half of all Americans cite the economy as the one concern that will decide their vote in the fall, relegating others — such as health care, taxes and the federal deficit — to single-digit status.

In other words, the shiny-object distraction strategy from Team Obama hasn’t worked out as planned. Neither has the sample strategy from the WaPo/ABC pollster. Today’s D/R/I is 32/22/38, which means this model would only be predictive for a turnout model where only 22% of voters are Republican. Just to remind readers, the 2008 turnout split from exit polls showed a 39/32/29 split, and that was considered a nadir for Republican turnout. In the 2010 midterms, the split was 35/35/30.

  163. Media “Cooks the Books” For Obama Yet Again (WHI RELATED)

by Ulsterman on May 22, 2012 with 1 Comments in News

“Got word there is a comprehensive polling and economic data program about ready to be launched via some administration operatives and particular media outlets. Big time cooking the books on this polling data they will be pushing out there soon. Told Wapo will be one of if not the first. Urge you to read beyond the polling headline and you will find the facts behind the numbers.” -WHI: December, 2011

Yet another “cook the books” poll was released by the Washington Post and ABC News today:

    _______________

After months of aggressive campaigning on jobs and the economy, President Obama and Mitt Romney, his likely Republican challenger, are locked in a dead heat over who could fix the problem foremost on voters’ minds, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

The parity on economic issues foreshadows what probably will continue to be a tough and negative campaign. Overall, voters would be split 49 percent for Obama and 46 percent for Romney if the November election were held now. On handling the economy, they are tied at 47 percent.
    ________________

With voters making it clear “it’s the economy stupid” this latest poll showing Barack Obama somehow TIED with Mitt Romney over who will best handle the U.S. economy despite numerous earlier polls giving Romney a large lead on this issue is enough to raise alarms as to how these latest numbers were created. One need look no further than the actual polling data showing Democrats were polled by 10-POINT MARGIN over Republicans in the poll! Here is the breakdown according to the sample data of those polled:

    Democrats: 32%

    Republicans: 22%

    Independents: 38%

Now as a comparison, here is the actual party affiliation breakdown of voters during the 2010 Midterm Election:

    Democrat: 35%

    Republican: 35%

    Independent: 30%

So this latest poll by the Washington Post and ABC News is attempting to indicate that Republicans have LOST 13% of the electorate since 2010 while Democrats have actually GAINED 3%. That is as dishonest and inaccurate a poll as you will find in recent memory, but now watch the mainstream media begin to spin how Mitt Romney, despite his seeming advantage over Barack Obama on the all-important issue of the economy, can only manage to tie the president. What the Washington Post and ABC News are doing here is a concerted effort to minimize the single greatest weakness of Barack Obama – his disastrous handling of the U.S. economy.

Don’t fall for it – WHI warned us months this was EXACTLY the intended plan:

These polls are fabrications intended to shape public opinion. They are not reflections of public opinion. That make sense? The poll itself will be regurgitated to other secondary media. That is how we did it over and over again in 2007 and 2008. We used the polling to work against Hillary, and then we used the same platform of tricks to use against and paralyze the McCain campaign.

You have to find the actual polling data. It will be buried but you can find it easy enough once you figure out the links. Then go back and compare to previous polling and you’ll note the shift. That shift is proof of the dishonesty of the media. At least some of them. The Obama people fed them the request, and these polls will be used to paint the picture.

  164. Jeez! The rats can’t jump ship fast enough! Now Rendell and D-Va Senator Warner come out in support of Bain!

“This morning on MSNBC, former venture capitalist Sen. Mark Warner D-Va. admitted that Bain Capital was “very successful” and “did what they were supposed to do.”

Rendell supported Bain on some other show.

And Booker says the WH contacted him to issue a rebuttal to his honest response about Bain on the Sunday talk shows while the WH says they never spoke to Booker.

Then Fallon comes out and says the WH called HIM and asked if BO could appear appear on his show.

Some blogs are referring to the POS’s campaign as the gang that couldn’t shot straight.

But LSM is quiet on all these issues. It’s beginning to frek me out – the total radio silence from official media over what’s really going on in the country. I rely on the internet for all my news except for a few shows like Brett Baier.

This info control amounts to brainwashing and passive propaganda.

  167. Good (Bad) cartoon at the link.

David Horsey replaced the token conservative, Andrew Malcolm, on LAT’s “Top of the Ticket” column and has been spewing anti-conservative hate and mockery ever since. He eagerly seized on the Minority babies story, something that Left-liberals have gleefully made a story over their own perceptions of how conservatives will react.

This is a point I’ve made repeatedly. The caricature of poor whites that the Left creates, then proceeds to mock. When questioned on their mockery, they point to the strawman they built and exclaim, “C’mon! Are you telling me that’s not mock-worthy?” Well, yeah, it might be, but a made-up composite embodying every single bad thing ever done/said by any ethnic or cultural group would be mock-worthy.

The best take on this was in the comments:

I guess the next thing after publishing a cartoon like that is wondering why so much of the south is turning Red and why they hold DC in such contempt.

Deliverance is a funny movie. See, it’s basically one of those deadly African jungle movies where some bone wearing, stone age, cannibal tribe wants to boil you in their big cast iron pot that they somehow manufactured despite all their heathen primitiveness. The twist is that they set it in Georgia where some guys from Atlanta find out that rednecks live without law, are retarded, and will rape and kill strangers for no reason. Of course this kind of “exists to be villains” crap is just as silly in northern Georgia as it is in some random African Jungle. The joke of the movie was was to claim that we can have deadly off the map adventures right here in the US.

You can tell that it’s urban legend/adventure movie bullshit because in reality the movie makers had no fear to go up there with a cast and FILM A MOVIE there and received nothing but cooperation. That’s how dangerous it REALLY was off the map in North Georgia.

But somehow the premise of Deliverance became “true ” in the eyes of those who saw the movie and weren’t smart enough to realize that it’s a movie. It became a trope in central casting. It became a major element of portrayals of the south. And they tried it in the west too. We got to see “The Hills Have Eyes”. So now rednecks are the new chanting dancing spear throwing jungle cannibals in the minds of the popular culture. They are toothless, devolved, blithering, ugly, out of style mutants.

Now city mouse half believes that his country cousin wants to rape him, and maybe eat him like in Chainsaw massacre. The city is now the good safe place where the decent people live. Except when you open the paper.

So City mouse wants to make Country mouse the scapegoat for all his arrogance and failure and doesn’t want Country mouse to breed or prosper or make any decisions about what the future holds. And even the large prospering cities in the South are suspect to the costal types. So we get cartoons like this. Then, the cartoonist has the chutzpah to wonder why the South dislikes him, votes against his ideas, and argues with his assumptions. “Well fuck ‘em if they can’t take a joke” he says.

  168. But as a teacher, she should have found a source reinforcing her position. I think she may have been confused with the language of a death threat to the president rather than a banal criticism of the president allowable under the First Amendment Right to Free Speech.

  170. I gave that teacher the benefit of the doubt… iow- a very long rope. If nothing else she is guilty of ignorance and has no business exposing her ignorance to school kids dependent on her learning skills if they are to go on with the enrichment of their education.

There is video all over the web of the conversation between the teacher and her students questioning her words. Every time a student questioned the president’s bullying, she upped the punishment ante… ending with jail/prison if they did not cease and desist recounting what they had read of Obama’s bullying confession in his own book.

    Bad teacher- 🙁

  171. What might qualify better, is Romney’s putting welfare mothers back to work when their children are two, so that the two year old baby “can see the dignity of work.” And many conservative flaps about ‘defending marriage’ etc
    **********

TD, I was a working mother of a two year old child and am appalled that these women use their children for paychecks. Yes, there is dignity in working and mirroring that to your children, be they 2, 4,10,20. Dignity before paycheck! What we have now are generations of unwed mothers collecting our hard earned money so that THEY can stay home… BS.Yes TD, we do have to “mirror” our character to our children, it’s how they learn

  172. Wow! Just Wow! This is what the election is about. Some truly chilling stats.

    4) $2,170: One of the great ironies of this election is the still rabid support that black Americans have for Barack Obama. This is kind of like Columbine High School throwing a “We Sure Do Miss You” Memorial Rally for Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold.

When Mr. Obama was inaugurated black unemployment was 12.6%. 36 months later, it is at a depression era level 15.8%.

    * Black teenage unemployment is a jaw dropping 42.3 percent.

    * In October 2010, blacks accounted for 22.6 percent of the then 40.5 million Americans who received food stamp benefits each month. That figure was projected to rise in 2011. Mark Rank of Washington University suggests a whopping 90 percent of black children may eventually live in households that need food stamps.

    * In 2007, before Obama took office, white households had a median net worth of $134,280, compared with $13,450 for black households. By the end of 2009, the median net worth for white households plummeted 24% to $97,860. But for black households, it dropped 83% to $2,170. The Chicago Sun-Times called it, “The Disappearing Black Middle Class.”

If a Republican President did the sort of damage to black Americans that Barack Obama has, it would be called a hate crime.

    5) 5 Million: The average unemployment rate during George Bush’s time in office was roughly 5.3% as compared to 8.2% today, which is part of the longest streak of over 8% unemployment since the Great Depression. However, because of the way the unemployment rate is calculated, even those horrific numbers don’t give you the full sense of the Mt. Krakatoa-like havoc that Barack Obama has wreaked on the job market.

When the recession supposedly officially ended in June, 2009, the labor force participation rate was still 65.7%.

In the latest, much celebrated unemployment report, the labor force participation rate had plummeted to 63.7%, the most rapid decline in U.S. history. That means that under President Obama nearly 5 million Americans have fled the workforce in hopeless despair.

The trick is that when those 5 million are not counted as in the work force, they are not counted as unemployed either. They may desperately need and want jobs. They may be in poverty, as many undoubtedly are, with America suffering today more people in poverty than in the entire half century the Census Bureau has been counting poverty.

In other words, there are 5 million Americans who not only lost their jobs, but who became so discouraged trying to find a job that they just gave up. That’s definitely a “change,” but the only “hope” at this point is that Obama will be voted out of office so that those people will be able to get back into the labor force.

  176. O.M.G, Sara!

Here’s the 1st few paragraphs. I urge others to check Sara’s link.

During Barack Obama’s tenure as the president of the Harvard Law Review in the late 1980s, at least two male student editors complained to colleagues and senior university officials about inappropriate behavior by Obama, ultimately leaving their positions at the journal, multiple sources confirm to THE KANSAS CITIAN.

The men complained of sexually suggestive behavior by Obama that made them angry and uncomfortable, the sources said, and they signed agreements with the university that gave them financial payouts to leave the journal. The agreements also included language that bars the men from talking about their departures.

In a series of comments over the past 10 days, Obama and his administration repeatedly declined to respond directly about whether he ever faced allegations of sexual harassment at the journal. They have also declined to address questions about specific reporting confirming that there were financial settlements in two cases in which men leveled complaints.

THE KANSAS CITIAN has confirmed the identities of the two male journal editors who complained about Obama but, for privacy concerns, is not publishing their names.

  177. Some more from the same story:

Obama was president of the Harvard Law Review from late-1988 to mid-1989. THE KANSAS CITIAN learned of the allegations against him, and over the course of several weeks, has put together accounts of what happened by talking to a lengthy roster of former university officials, current and past students and others familiar with the workings of the journal at the time Obama was there.

In one case, THE KANSAS CITIAN has seen documentation describing the allegations and showing that the university formally resolved the matter. Both men received separation packages that were in the five-figure range.

On the details of Obama’s allegedly inappropriate behavior with the two men, THE KANSAS CITIAN has a half-dozen sources shedding light on different aspects of the complaints.

The sources — including the recollections of close associates and other documentation — describe episodes that left the men upset and offended. These incidents include conversations allegedly filled with innuendo or personal questions of a sexually suggestive nature, taking place at hotels during conferences, at other officially sanctioned journal events and at the journal’s offices. There were also descriptions of physical gestures that were not overtly sexual but that made men who experienced or witnessed them uncomfortable and that they regarded as improper in a professional relationship.

Agree or disagree with it, it’s still ‘social engineering’ — unlike the programs which a conservative pundit labeled ‘social engineering’: “various pricey social engineering schemes — like lowering subsidized college loan rates, helping homeowners refinance at current mortgage rates and providing tax credits for investments in “clean energy manufacturing.”

Apparently ‘social engineering’ is a label that conservtives like to put on liberal causes, when it really fits better on their own causes such as ‘defending marriage’.

As to Romney’s ‘dignity’, I posted the whole story with cite around the time he claimed Ann Romney was herself a ‘working mother.’ The quote came from a time when women could collect some sort of benefits while staying home till the child was age 4, and he wanted to change that to age 2! So as to ‘model’ for the two year old baby some ‘dignity’! Even if it would cost the government more to provide childcare than to let that mother stay home like Ann Romney did.

You may agree with Romney that it’s worth the extra cost to the government to separate that mother and two year old child, but don’t claim it isn’t ‘social engineering’.

Heartland Institute facing uncertain future as staff depart and cash dries up
Free-market thinktank’s conference opens in Chicago with president admitting defections are hurting group’s finances
as the latest Heartland climate conference opens in a Chicago hotel on Monday, the thinktank’s claims to reasoned debate lie in shreds and its financial future remains uncertain.
[….] Along with the damage to its reputation, Heartland’s financial future is also threatened by an exodus of corporate donors as well as key members of staff.
[….] Over the last few weeks, Heartland has lost at least $825,000 in expected funds for 2012, or more than 35% of the funds its planned to raise from corporate donors, according to the campaign group Forecast the Facts, which is pushing companies to boycott the organisation.
The organisation has been forced to make up those funds by taking its first publicly acknowledged donations from the coal industry.
[….]Its entire Washington DC office, barring one staffer, decamped, taking Heartland’s biggest project, involving the insurance industry, with them.
Board directors quit, conference speakers cancelled at short-notice, and associates of long standing demanded Heartland remove their names from its website. The list of conference sponsors shrank by nearly half from 2010, and many of those listed sponsors are just websites operating on the rightwing fringe.
[….] The publicity around the donors’ list made it difficult for companies with public commitment to sustainability, such as the General Motors Foundation, to continue funding Heartland. The GM Foundation soon announced it was ending its support of $15,000 a year.
[….] A number of other experts meanwhile began cutting their ties with Heartland, according to a tally kept by a Canadian blogger BigCityLiberal.

[….] Both the Illinois Coal Association and Heritage stepped in to fund this week’s conference, after other corporate donors began backing out in protest at the offensive Kaczynski ad.
Meanwhile, a Greenpeace analysis of the other smaller conference sponsors suggests they have collectively received $5m in funds from Exxon and other oil companies.
The Coal Association and Heritage were not listed on the original conference sponsor list, but appeared to come in about a week or so after the appearance of the offending Kaczynski ad.

Yesterday, a video leaked of Mississippi Representative Lester “Bubba” Carpenter gloating that he and his anti-choice cronies had passed a bill that could effectively put an end to safe, legal abortion in the state of Mississippi. The money quote:

It’s going to be challenged, of course, in the Supreme Court and all — but literally, we stopped abortion in the state of Mississippi, legally, without having to — Roe vs. Wade. So we’ve done that. I was proud of it. The governor signed it into law. And of course, there you have the other side. They’re like, ‘Well, the poor pitiful women that can’t afford to go out of state are just going to start doing them at home with a coat hanger. That’s what we’ve learned over and over and over.’
But hey, you have to have moral values. You have to start somewhere.”

  195. Obama’s dangerous words about profits and free enterprise

President Obama is never more revealing about himself and his economic cosmology than when he talks off-the-cuff about innovation and market capitalism. Recall his theory that technological advances, such as ATMs, are killers of jobs.

But Obama probably best summed up his views yesterday when he said private equity firms such as Bain Capital have as “their priority is to maximize profits. And that’s not always going to be good for communities or businesses or workers.”

Profitable companies provide jobs, buy equipment, reduce debt, pay taxes, conduct research, and, yes, provide a return to shareholders. But profits, in Obama’s view, seem to be some sort of necessary evil. (Or, as many liberals think, an absolute evil when it comes to companies trying to make money in healthcare.)

Yet for companies to survive and prosper long term, they need to maximize profits over the long term. We want companies to be as profitable as possible, as long as those profits are generated by creating value and not through theft or by manipulating the political system.

Generating honest profits is the sole responsibility of business. As Milton Friedman wrote back in 1970 for the New York Times:

What does it mean to say that the corporate executive has a “social responsibility” in his capacity as businessman? If this statement is not pure rhetoric, it must mean that he is to act in some way that is not in the interest of his employers.

For example, that he is to refrain from increasing the price of the product in order to contribute to the social objective of preventing inflation, even though a price increase would be in the best interests of the corporation.

Or that he is to make expenditures on reducing pollution beyond the amount that is in the best interests of the corporation or that is required by law in order to contribute to the social objective of improving the environment.

Or that, at the expense of corporate profits, he is to hire “hardcore” unemployed instead of better qualified available workmen to contribute to the social objective of reducing poverty.

In each of these cases, the corporate executive would be spending someone else’s money for a general social interest. Insofar as his actions in accord with his “social responsibility” reduce returns to stockholders, he is spending their money. Insofar as his actions raise the price to customers, he is spending the customers’ money. Insofar as his actions lower the wages of some employees, he is spending their money.

It’s companies that forget about maximizing profits — or can’t quite figure out how to keep doing it — that really pose a risk to workers and communities and shareholders. Those companies are on the road to failure. And it’s those companies that are in need of a rescue mission from Bain Capital and or some other private equity firm.

I think the president doesn’t fully grasp how dangerous his words are. If he had a true grasp of economic history, he would realize that it was only when business and profits and innovation began to be valued by society that we got the economic takeoff in the West that improved our average standard of living from $3 a day in 1800 to more than $100 a day today.

As economist Deirdre McCloskey puts it:

The biggest threat, meanwhile, to our prosperity is not temporary recessions, but permanent reversions to old attitudes towards profit and progress. When making money is demonized, when innovation is stifled, that’s when we lose what Adam Smith called “the obvious and simple system of natural liberty.” Respecting capitalism has worked pretty well for the people for two centuries. I reckon we should keep it.
