Obama Isn’t Working

We prefer the déclassé “Obama Ain’t Working.” But “Obama Isn’t Working” will do just fine. It’s a sister slogan to “Obama made it worse.”

“Campaigns for president always have one of two themes: “it’s time for a change” or “stay the course.” The incumbent power will always be the “stay the course” purveyors, even if “adjustments” or “tweaks/changes” garnish the formula. The out of power challenger will always run a campaign based on the “it’s time for a change” theme.”

As we wrote back then, this year’s battle of the slogans will be “Obama made it worse” versus Obama’s “it would have been worse.”

Ronald Reagan has the most famous and effective iteration of “THE” slogan:

Are you better off than you were four years ago?” Mr. Reagan asked, dwelling on Mr. Carter’s economic and foreign policy failures. Voters decided that they weren’t, and Mr. Reagan became the 40th president.”

Back in June 2007 we discussed why campaign messages should be a few words, both positive and negative simultaneously, and we provided several examples (“The New Deal”, “The New Frontier”, “Nixon’s The One”, “I Like Ike”, “Morning In America”, “Putting People First”) of earlier successful slogans.

Barack Obama’s 2008 slogan was a sharp attack on Hillary Clinton as well as a web of lies designed to delude the ranks about Obama’s abilities. “Change you can believe in” turned into neither change for the better nor change that could be believed. But it did the trick.

Mitt Romney’s latest appearances have been decorated with a sign that proclaims “Obama Isn’t Working.” Obama Isn’t Working does at least two things.

First, Obama Isn’t Working is a reminder of the endless celebrity style vacations, the golfing, the sports fixations, the basketball games, the publicity stunts, the ceaseless river of words at venue after venue paid by the taxpayer, the flights paid for by the taxpayer, the parties, the celebrity get togethers, the wife trips, the wife vacations, the games, the talk show appearances, the sport show appearances, the children shows appearances, the awards shows appearances, the gala appearances, and of course the many campaign fundraisers tucked into the many fundraisers and fundraisers. Obama Isn’t Working, Obama is raising money for himself. Obama is hanging out with celebrities. Obama is on TV. Obama is at a sports game. Obama is busy avoiding work. Obama is vacationing. Obama is at a publicity stunt.

Second, Obama Isn’t Working is a warning and a bill come due. Imagine, a gorgeous pair of shoes, or a vroom vroom car, or that massive manse on the hill, or that app loaded super new smart phone, or those orchestra seat tickets, or that new super fast computer, or that huge 3d flat screen, or that perfect piece of jewelry, or that wonderful vacation, or that second honeymoon. But… you cannot afford it. You might want it but you can’t afford it. In the same way, you might like Obama, you might be happy you voted for him in 2008 but you still don’t have a job. You can’t afford Barack Obama. Even if you like him, even if you think you want him reelected, even if you think he’ll do a better job next time – you realize you can’t afford the lummox. Obama ain’t working. Obama isn’t working.

Obama Isn’t Working – you can’t afford the never there recovery. Obama Isn’t Working – you can’t afford the high unemployment rates. Obama Isn’t Working – you can’t afford the economic desperation. Hate him or like him – Obama Isn’t Working.

“Obama Isn’t Working” is working as a slogan. The proof “Obama Isn’t Working” is working is the yelps of “RACISM!”

“Obama Isn’t Working” is working so well it is a website. “Obama Isn’t Working” is a video:

If you notice that Obama is not working, that Obama is in way over his head, that Barack Obama does not have a clue about what he is supposed to do – that’s somehow racist. Black people are so delicate and weak and they are all exactly the same that one black person cannot be accused of being a boob. That’s racist.

The many 2008 Hillary Clinton supporters that happened to be black were accused of being racist even though they themselves were black and blacks can’t be racist don’t you know. But if blacks cannot be racists against whites or other races the exception was made for blacks being racists against blacks if they supported Hillary Clinton over Barack Obama.

The race-baiting to protect Obama – who is not working, is all the Barack Obama campaign has left. The alleged “likeability” issue (the one that supposes Barack Obama is more likeable than Mitt Romney even as that argument is made right after a bruising Republican primary) fails when one remembers that the reptilian Richard Nixon was elected twice.

Barack Obama Isn’t Working for Bo:

Obama Isn’t Working for small businesses:

Obama Isn’t Working:

Obama Isn’t Working for women. Obama Isn’t Working for the economy:

Obama Isn’t Working and neither are his policies.

Barack Obama is lazy.

Obama Isn’t Working. He’s a liar too:

Even some of his one time voters know Barack Obama is a liar and a phony.

His lies ain’t working this time. 2012 Obama lies ain’t working. Obama ain’t working.

  1. great post, admin!
“The race-baiting to protect Obama – who is not working, is all the Barack Obama campaign has left.”

So true, unless he starts a war. I suppose he could also trot out gay marriage, which he doesn’t believe in, in much the same way they trotted out Sandra Fluke to rile up the base.

  2. Obama isn’t working for Israel. How does Barack “celebrate” Holocaust Day?

    http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2012/04/obama-celebrates-holocaust-day-by-putting-jew-hating-crackpot-on-atrocities-board/

Barack Obama celebrated Holocaust Day this week by speaking at the National Holocaust Museum. He also appointed a Jew-basher a top-level position in his administration.

Samantha Powers is the one who called Hillary Clinton a “monster”. Read the whole article:
    http://yidwithlid.blogspot.com/2012/04/obama-selects-woman-who-wanted-to.html

Only Barack Obama! Today the President tried to show he was a friend of the Jews with a beautifully crafted speech Holocaust Museum. Showing his words mean nothing, also today Samantha Power began work today as chair of  President Barack Obama’s new Atrocities Prevention Board. If you don’t remember Ms Power she once called for a US force to invade Israel and force through a “peace settlement.” Powers also had some unflattering things to say about about America’s Jewish population during the 2008 campaign

How long do you think it will be before Powers uses that board as tool to de-legitimize Israel?

Power was a foreign policy adviser to the Obama campaign in 2008 when she blamed the Jews for the criticism of then Candidate Obama’s foreign policy platform.[snip]

In 2002 she sat for an interview with Harry Kreisler, the director of the Institute for International Studies at Berkeley. Kreisler asked her the following question:

Let me give you a thought experiment here, and it is the following: without addressing the Palestine – Israel problem, let’s say you were an advisor to the President of the United States, how would you respond to current events there? Would you advise him to put a structure in place to monitor that situation, at least if one party or another [starts] looking like they might be moving toward genocide?

Power’s response seen in the video below is her advice to the President would be

“Alienate” the American Jewish community, and indeed all Americans, such as evangelical Christians, who support the state of Israel, because Israeli leaders are “destroying the lives of their own people.”

Pour billions of dollars of the taxpayers’ money into “the new state of Palestine

Stage an American ground invasion of Israel and the Palestinian territories — what else can she mean by a “mammoth protection force” and a “military presence” that will be “imposed” by “external intervention”? — Interestingly she considers the exact same thing the height of arrogance and foolishness when it was done in Iraq.

The video of the interview is below.

  3. Admin, here on big pink we have always said that when Obama starts speechifying, look quick to what his hands are doing elsewhere. Appointing Powers to monitor “atrocities” is going to amount to a smear job on Israel. Anything the palestinians do will be conveniently ignored.

  4. Obama isn’t working for civil liberties:

    http://dailycaller.com/2012/04/23/former-justice-official-obama-worse-than-bush-on-civil-liberties-video/

The Obama administration’s use of executive power has gone further than the Bush administration’s toward diminishing Americans’ civil liberties, author John Yoo told The Daily Caller.

“Somehow the Obama administration has increased the protections for terrorists, while at the same time reducing them for the rest of us law-abiding citizens in the United States,” Yoo said after a panel discussion on his new book “Taming Globalization” at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C.

Yoo was deputy assistant attorney general for the Office of Legal Counsel at the U.S. Department of Justice during the Bush administration. During his tenure, he authored what came to be derided as the “torture memos,” which defined what techniques were acceptable to use during interrogations of terrorist suspects.

Anti-war organizations branded him and many others in the Bush administration, including Vice President Dick Cheney, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and President Bush himself, as “war criminals.”

Yoo said the anti-war movement has not criticized President Barack Obama, despite his administration’s formalization of a process for “targeted killing[s]” of American citizens without trial.

You don’t see the same critics who so thrashed President Bush, for allegedly thinking he was a king, making the same arguments and engaging in the same criticism of President Obama,” Yoo told TheDC.

“I think a reasonable person can only conclude that is because President Obama happens to be a Democrat, where as President Bush was a Republican.

  5. For all the people who voted for Obama in 2008 so they could “feel good about themselves”, let me suggest a more cost effective remedy for this country, to cure what ails them:

    a. a headshrinker (from Borneo)

    b. a qualified psychiatrist (from Borneo)

    c. crack cocaine on a spoon (neat)

    d. Dr. Jack (Kevorkian)

    e. all of the above

  6. 7. VEEP WATCH:

Marco Rubio insists he’s not angling to be Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s running mate, but his schedule this week might indicate otherwise.

After stumping with Romney on Monday, the Florida senator will now “deliver a major speech on the future of U.S. foreign policy at an event hosted by The Brookings Institution” on Wednesday, according to a news release from his office.

“Rubio’s remarks will focus on whether U.S. global leadership is sustainable and even necessary in the 21st century,” the release said.

The announcement of the foreign policy speech comes after Rubio spent Monday campaigning with Romney at a town hall in Aston, Pennsylvania.

  8. Videos admin posted above….

Is the one by Wilber, ‘Barry Jist ain’t workin’. – is the soundtrack by Crystal Method?
    Holy Smokes.

The one, ‘Pray for Bo’….. Like Pavlov’s dog, I hide my eyes when they play that song on tv because they are going to show mutilated dogs and cats galore.

Poor Bo, his treats are probably just high carb to fatten him up.

    Great post admins.

    =====================

Presidents who don’t get caught in extra-marital affairs, haven’t done very well either.

  10. Thank you f*cking Al and f*cking Holder and f*cking Obama:

    MOBILE, Alabama —
Mobile police need your help to catch a mob that beat Matthew Owens so badly that he’s in critical condition.

According to police, Owens fussed at some kids playing basketball in the middle of Delmar Drive about 8:30 Saturday night. They say the kids left and a group of adults returned, armed with everything but the kitchen sink.

Police tell News 5 the suspects used chairs, pipes and paint cans to beat Owens.

Owens’ sister, Ashley Parker, saw the attack. “It was the scariest thing I have ever witnessed.” Parker says 20 people, all African American, attacked her brother on the front porch of his home, using “brass buckles, paint cans and anything they could get their hands on.”

Police will only say “multiple people” are involved.

What Parker says happened next could make the fallout from the brutal beating even worse. As the attackers walked away, leaving Owen bleeding on the ground, Parker says one of them said “Now thats justice for Trayvon.” Trayvon Martin is the unarmed teenager police say was shot and killed February 26 by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman in Samford, Florida.

Police canvassed the area, but did not find any suspects. They’re asking anyone with information to call them at 251-208-7211, Crime Stoppers at 251-208-7000, or text a tip to 274637 and include the keyword CRIME 411.

Which is why I say when Obama loses it is more probable than not that black people will riot. Not all black people. Of course not. But animals like these. And it is too bad because when they do it will set race relations back a century. And I have no stomach for people like Sharpton who will come forward after there is blood in the street and try to present himself as the peace maker when in fact he was one of the prime instigators. Same goes for big media.

  12. Holder opened the flood gates for an epidemic of black on white crime when he failed to punish to NBP for intimidating white people at the voting booth in Philadelphia. Since then there have been a number of incidents of this nature.

  13. Isn’t it ironic that there were adults in this country who were gullible enough to believe the claim that Obama would be a racial healer? It stains credulity.

Disturbing news re Powers. This is the type of “flexibility” he will have in a 2nd term.
    —————————-
The concern is academic. There will be no second term.

  15. wbboei, it was obvious from the primaries. And NO ONE sat in Rev Wright’s church for 20 years without having some damn deep antipathy for white people. Racial healer, my ass. Dumbasses voted for him though.

  16. I am getting tired of being held hostage by the threats of riots. We heard this in 2008 from the radio and media people. The women got robbed and their was no riots. We are allowing the leadership of this country to be stolen by the bullies.

  17. There is a chapter on this in The Great Reckoning by Lord Reese Mogg and James Davidson. The title reads drugs, delusion and the imperial culture of the slum. There are forces here which people who live in gated communities and safe neighborhoods do not know and cannot be expected to understand, until they get surprised. But the point is these fires are fanned by a president–and a political party who play the race care every chance they get.

    —————————–
    Yes. Definitely.

And here is one which you may or may not remember: During the primary, Obama’s website talked about “house niggers”–who supported Hillary, and “field niggers” who supported Obama. That was a clear attempt by Obama to intimidate blacks into supporting him. I thought the reference was reprehensible myself, but most people did not seem to care, because they did not realize the mischief that was afoot.

  19. Since when is likability any sort of criteria to signitifcantly determine the leadership of this country. When you are in a dangerious economic situation, do you really care how much you like the candidates running for office, or do you really care about a leader who can manage, negotiate, and figure out how to sustain economic growth.

I really don’t care if I like the guy, I want the value of my home to get back at least to purchase level. They can be an SOB, and I would still vote for them, as long as I feel they have the experience to deliver.

Obama was what a B or C student with very little real world experience, and the lack of experience is showing. The big problem is he does not seem to learn or change, and does not seem to see the need to Romney what kind of student was he, and what is his experience factor? Has he turn things around for an organization, and can he make the TOUGH DECISIONS.

You want America to work. (I agree)

Obama wants America to be punished. (Michelle agrees)

East is east. West is west. And ne’r the twain shall meet.

  23. Obama media whores bring up Likeability as though it means something. Let’s face it, it is the only good stat that they have.

  24. Admin: every time I scroll past your last article and see that photo of Obama consuming a sleeping puppy as if it was a Colonel Sanders drum stick I have to laugh and wonder whether this is where the term hush puppies originated. If so, then when Obamacare is struck down that will turn out to be his singular accomplishment and enduring legacy. Used car con man Ralph Williams used to talk about eating a bug, well conman Obama can say show them you are a real man and eat a puppy.

  25. wbboei, Obama’s website was a cesspoool during the primaries. The one thread, about how Hillary needed to get on her knees and suck the Rev. Wright’s big black c*ck, stayed up for weeks.

I personally called the O campaign about that one, multiple times, and got laughed off. They never took it down. I PERSONALLY called freaking Howard Dean’s office DAILY for two weeks over that one. As did dozens of others.

They did nothing. NOTHING. So I dare any Obot or Dem official to tell me they did not know the ugliness and filth they were unleashing on this country. They f*cking knew. Oh yes, they knew. They didn’t care. They wanted the power, and thought Obama was their ticket to it.

    If likeability means–

liking the fact that we have 16 million unemployed, and-

liking the fact that we are still bogged down in Afghanistan, and-

liking the fact that race relations are at a new low, and-

liking the fact that we have become the laughing stock of the world, and-

liking the fact that we are in hoc up to our eyeballs, and-

liking the fact that Obama has a secret deal with Putin, and-

liking the fact that we are going back into a recession,

then Obama is a very likeable fellow.

The whole idea of riots if the thughs don’t get to rob American’s of their votes and candidates is really a black pipe dream.

I say, “Go ahead and riot, burn down your own towns if you want, your Race Card is worn out and American’s are not cowards to fighting for their rights and individual votes.

    Bring it on!

  29. And that is the real Barack Hussein Obama. And anyone who finds him likeable after all that should take a long walk off a short pier until their hat floats.

Yep. And it’s also why I will vote for ANYONE, and work to elect ANYONE, to get that pig out of my Whitehouse. I’d proudly pull the lever for freaking Beelzebub himself, if it would defeat Obama.

  30. Shadowfax, my feelings exactly. Let ’em riot. I don’t care. Not gonna burn MY house, so have at it. Get your freak on and let the whole world watch.

  31. What had to be one of the biggest scandals of the 1960’s centered around one Billy Sol Estes whose influence and fraud wandered through many high places in Washington, allegedly all the way up to the office of Lyndon Johnson. Estes was the subject of a Senate Sub-committee investigation on political corruption which led to a startling number of discoveries and an even more startling number of “suicides” in the process.

Although Estes was convicted of fraud and corruption charges and sentenced to prison, his conviction was overturned by a Supreme Court decision that ruled the massive amount of publicity the investigation garnered made a fair trial impossible.
    ———————-
You have got to wonder whether the blatant media hype and manipulation of evidence has made a fair trial for Zimmerman impossible. I would hold that argument in reserve, but would certainly have an appellate brief ready if needed, citing nbc, msnbc, cnn, and abc have done to prejudice the judicial process, and violate the constitutional rights of Zimmerman/

  32. Well, Obama announced today that the war on terrorism is OVER.

So that means we can disband the TSA now, right? … Right?

  33. admin: Good news that the Rs are using the “Obama isn’t working” meme. It does have the two implications you suggest, and gives me a new impression of Karl Rove, whom I had always taken to be a neocon ideologue because he engineered the Bush-Cheney construct.

  34. From the previous thread:

Tdo: “The crate story may not have been as bad as the short versions suggest. That’s why we need the details.”
    ====

Oh, please – and all these details you want, like a scientific research project or district attorney’s investigation. I’ve said before that the only witnesses out there are the Romneys themselves, so you’re not going to get any evidence for your cause, which will remain a pile of suspicions. That’s why this whole Seamus-dog eating spat is just for fun. No one’s bringing charges against Obama either, for eating dog meat.

  35. Also the previous thread:

“If Romney wins this year, I doubt he’d be “unbeatable” four years later.”
    ====

Well, four years is a long time and our prognostics are understandably different. Take heart, my prognostics are usually wrong! But my own assessment of Willard is that he is presidential timber, consisting of strong business experience in difficult economic times, plus the ability to propose centrist policies reaching across the proverbial aisle. He won’t be divisive and “liberal” opposition to him in 2016 will be just partisan sour grapes.

  36. And lastly from the previous thread:

Tdo: “What protege? Coakley? Eliz Warren? Gillibrand?”
    ====

The one I have in mind is Gillibrand, because she was inspired to leave law practice and go into politics by Hillary herself; she stepped into Hillary’s shoes when she took the Senator’s position; and there was talk about her future as a possible presidential candidate as soon as she reached that position.

Since then, she has won her Senate seat in her own right and by the same 65% majority as Hillary in 2006. Eight years from now, she will have two more senatorial victories in her pocket and a record to stand on.

But as you note, there are others in the Clinton camp that HRC & WJC will be cheering on in the coming 8 years, not all of them women. Kendrick Meek would be a good VP pick for an all-Clinton ticket. Still, 2020 and not before.

    “Fireside chats?”
    ====

    Sure, why not?

    “If offered the nomination {2016}, I can’t imagine her…”
    ====

I think she’s being honest when she says she wants out. Actually, she is out of politics already as Secy of State. By 2016, she will be doing many other things fulfilling for herself, America and the world, and at age 69 I don’t think she will be willing to go back to all the grief of battling for a worthless D party and against a successful incumbent.

She has said “I’ve done my share, now it’s time for others to step up.” I think she means it. When I heard that, my heart sank, not because of 2016 but because of 2012. That is, if ever Obama team can be convinced that they are sure losers, Hillary would probably refuse the nomination, which would then go to Biden.

  37. Holder flexing balls here too:”Fresno Four” Face Jail for Arrest of Violent Criminal

Four officers from Fresno, California, are facing a nine-count indictment that could result in 10-year prison sentences and cost each of them a minimum of $100,000 to defend. Here are the details of the violent and fast-moving incident that led to the case, The United States of America, Plaintiff, vs. Christopher Coleman, Paul Van Dalen, Sean Plymale, Michael Manfredi, Defendants. It will be tried in the U.S. District Count for the Eastern District of California.

On October 10, 2005, the 911 emergency call center in Fresno, California, received a frantic call from Veronica Rivera. “My ex-boyfriend is trying to break into my apartment,” she screamed desperately, adding, “He says he is going to kill me.” She and her small children were cowering in a closet.
    snip
Five years passed. In October 2010, as the statue of limitations was about to expire, a federal grand jury indicted the four officers on nine counts of violating Celdon’s civil rights and obstruction of justice. Celdon had been deported as an illegal immigrant.
    http://www.policedefense.org/newsletter/vol-12-no-1-spring-2011/%E2%80%9Cfresno-four%E2%80%9D-face-prosecution-for-arrest-of-violent-criminal/

Awhile back I received a solicitation for legal defense money from Rachel Plymale, one of the wives. She wrote: Thank you for helping defend my husband’s good name and freedom from Eric Holder’s Justice Department.
Unfortunately it took me awhile to verify her request and respond. Please note I’ve taken a huge snip from the link. So if you feel this situation is weak, or officer’s actions unjustified, please read more of link. In conclusion, OBAMA ISN’T WORKING here either.

  38. Jeswezey, the use of “Obama isn’t working” is at once a personal attack (“he doesn’t work but rather vacations and golfs and hangs with celebs”), as well as a policy attack (“his Obama economic policies are not working and I can’t afford to have him as president for another 4 years”).

We think this dual attack is the right way to go. Many Republican strategists suggest that there should be no “personal” attack but how can it be otherwise? Obama’s all-around smarminess and work habits (as well as the all too apparent lack of experience in executive abilities) have to be part of the campaign.

  39. admin
    April 24th, 2012 at 8:10 am
It is a dual attack both personal and professional. Those are the best kind because they have plausible deniability. Romney can claim it is about policy or a president who is too busy running for re-election to tend to business, but at the same time alluding to the fact that Obama is a life long slacker. Obama used this same tactic frequently in 2008 against Hillary and McCain. Glad to see it is coming back and biting him. Romney appears to have his own marketing and branding team to fight Axelrod.

  40. Latest Obama Trap- I don’t think the statement made by the NYT has anything to do with pressure coming from the WHI or the WSI- I think it has everything to do with the NYT editor making a false promise to their readership to “BELIEVE” (them)…in the hopes of encouraging the generosity of donor patrons to Obama’s campaign to open their wallets!

WHI and WSI Pressuring New York Times To Ask “Who Is The Real Barack Obama”?

In a rather stunning statement – New York Times Editor Arthur Brisbane makes a promise to readers to finally explore the “real” Barack Obama.

Is this a bit of publishing smoke and mirrors, or will the historically pro-Obama New York Times on make good what Mr. Brisbane now declares a top priority – researching Barack Obama’s record to reveal the man behind the media-created myth?

And if this effort is in fact sincere, is it possible our own Insiders had a hand in altering the New York Times outlook?

The NYT has done everything necessary to preserve Obama’s presidency. Whether it be by omission of pertinent information, lack of investigative reporting or just plain spinning the Truth into a believable fiction.. (their readership subscriptions must be way down)plus their agreement to run cover for team Obama for the last 3.5 yrs- Why would they change now with the election 7 mos away?

This is a last ditch covering ground effort dispelling any notions Obama has done the best he can under the circumstances ultimately blaming the previous administration and anyone looking Obama’s way for his failures. The victims thrown under Obama’s bus can attest to his short comings and his failures.. they would be a good resource for the truth. NYT, ask them!

  41. “Black panic and “white” Hispanics

THIS IS SPOT ON! The real reason for using the adjective “white” before the racial identifier “Hispanic” in the Zimmerman case.

    EXCELLENT article

“At issue in the Zimmerman case is not whether he had a right to overpower Martin. The power struggle in the Zimmerman case stems from race-baiters’ worry that Hispanics will overtake blacks as the most powerful racial interest group in America. That is why Jackson and Sharpton are clinging on to Martin like Marion Berry on a crack pipe.

In their struggle to maintain racial minority supremacy, black civil rights leaders regularly invoke the one-drop rule. The one-drop rule states that anyone who has even a drop of black blood is considered black. The rule was once used by white racists in the South. They thought that anyone who had a drop of black blood was contaminated, so to speak. Just a drop of black blood made them both intellectually and morally inferior.

However, now blacks are using the one drop rule to advance their own political agenda. Given that half of black pregnancies end in abortion, blacks must have some means of keeping their numbers and corresponding political influence from dwindling.

Of course, the one-drop rule operates differently with respect to Hispanics. Black civil rights leaders now want to say that having a single drop of white blood means you are white, not Hispanic. The reason for that is obvious: open-border immigration has made Hispanics the largest minority.”

  42. Mrs. Smith, it is the NYTimes covering its posterior. The ombudsman notes that even in mundane articles the Times’ writers spin for Obama viewpoints. But nothing will change.

Big Media will spin and lie to readers about vetting Barack Obama but the opposite is true. Whatever “vetting” of Obama occurs will end with a clean bill of health. Notice how in all the “war on women” articles the New York Times and the rest of Big Media refuse to mention the sexism and misogyny directed against Hillary Clinton in 2007/2008. The liars at the phony “Politiifact” could not even admit that Obama ate dog meat even though Obama himself is the one who says he ate dog meat.

If Big Media wants to vet Obama they can start with Orlando Jones, Rezko, Todd Stroger, Michelle’s patient dumping schemes, Exelon, the Illinois health care bill, and the freezing tenants at the Rezko housing. That’s just a start. Then proceed to Obama promises such as the Billy Tauzin campaign promises which eventually turned into Billy Tauzin secret meetings. If ever the Times investigates they will realize that the Hookers are in the White House not in Colombia.

  43. More on pending Zimmerman riots and lots of fun comments like this one.

“I think if America doesn’t want riots after Zimmerman gets off on the murder trial they need to start passing checks around like Bush did.”

  50. NBC News President: Network Should ‘Probably’ Apologize On-Air for Repeatedly Running Fake Zimmerman Clip

    By Matthew Sheffield | April 23, 2012 | 20:50

It’s been several weeks since NBC disgraced itself by repeatedly airing doctored audio of George Zimmerman talking to a 9-1-1 dispatcher but the network has yet to apologize on the air, hoping instead that its paltry efforts of firing a lone producer and conducting an investigation into the matter but not releasing a report to the public would be sufficient.
Incredibly, it was a New York Times columnist, David Carr, who decided to confront the network on how that just isn’t enough. NBC News president Steve Capus admitted his efforts have been insufficient but tried to spin away why his network hasn’t bothered to tell viewers about its propagation of fraudulent journalism.

Carr hit the nail on the head about how television news, in this case, NBC almost never corrects previous on-air mistakes during air time:
    ************************************************************************
Carr approached Capus to ask why nothing had been done on the air. Capus acknowledged that he was “probably right” but didn’t seem too enthused about sparing a few seconds to help correct the record, especially for those viewers who aren’t following the media industry or political blogs, i.e. the vast majority of “Today” watchers.

“The reality is that we didn’t try to hide from it,” the oleagenous NBC president is quoted as saying. “We did an awful lot of work after it happened. We did an exhaustive investigation, I did interviews with a lot of publications to get the message out, but we probably should have done it on our own air.”

Supposedly, according to Capus, the peacock network was so busy trying to get to the bottom of things it never bothered to tell viewers. In all likelihood, that process was too “self-reflective,” Capus told Carr.

If Capus really believes that, why not take the time tomorrow to get “Today” and “NBC Nightly News” to apologize to its viewers to tell the truth about the disgraceful edit? How about releasing that report about how a fraudulently edited audio segment got aired repeatedly on television?

Yes, that’s right. NBC didn’t air fake audio of George Zimmerman just once on the air. It did so
    ************************************************************************
Given that there are two separate clips of Zimmerman’s voice that were created and run on two separate shows, how can we be assured that NBC has taken sufficient steps to punish anyone involved in perpetuating the false racist narrative? Because there hasn’t been much of a focus on the “NBC Nightly News,” how do we know that it wasn’t an additional producer who made the phoney edit on that show?

Unfortunately there is no way of knowing and since George Zimmerman is still trying to fend off prosecutors, he’s not likely to be able to launch a lawsuit against NBC for sliming him as a racist. Capus needs to do the right thing and come fully clean on what happened. As the boss, he can make things right. But will he choose to without governmental pressure? It will come, why wait until then?

Wbboei mentioned just the other day that he had heard from a source that several NBC execs were on the chopping block.

  53. http://thehill.com/blogs/healthwatch/politics-elections/223227-two-week-protest-by-catholic-activists-may-hamper-presidents-reelection-bid

President Obama has seen his standing among Catholic voters, a crucial segment of the electorate, slip in recent weeks, and a looming confrontation with Catholic activists could make it worse.

Democrats want voters this year to focus on what they have branded a war on women, but the flip side of the debate — the so-called war on religion — is not going away anytime soon.

Earlier this month, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops called for two weeks of public protest in June and July against what it sees as growing government encroachment on religious freedom.

The protests are expected to include priests and nuns and thousands of Catholic parishioners. Some activists expect civil disobedience, which could lead to powerful images of priests and nuns being led away in hand restraints.

“This is the most dynamic situation I’ve ever seen since I’ve been involved in Catholics and politics,” said Deal Hudson, president of Catholic Advocate, who also headed Catholic outreach for the Bush-Cheney presidential campaign in 2000 and 2004. “I think civil disobedience is almost inevitable. I think that kind of protest is on the way.”

Republican strategists say the rallies and protests could become powerfully symbolic in the presidential election.

These would be devastating images for the Obama administration,” said Ron Bonjean, a Republican strategist. “You have a very important religious demographic coming out in protest of Obama’s policies and being arrested for their expression. These images would be politically damaging for the president’s campaign.

And the conference could go beyond protests — it has also discussed working with evangelical Christian groups on a broader public relations campaign that could include television and radio ads.

Steven Wagner, the president of QEV Analytics, a polling firm that recently conducted a survey for The Catholic Association, said religion could emerge as a sleeper issue in the election: “Everyone says this election is about the economy. I can see the issue of religious liberty being what decides the race. If Obama continues to lose Catholics by the margin the Pew poll suggests, that means he could lose the key swing states of Florida, Ohio, Colorado and Iowa.”

Losses in those states could cost Obama the White House, and the states are likely aware of that fact. Wagner noted the administration will likely try to be careful and avoid provoking Catholic activists before the election.

Jeswezey, the use of “Obama isn’t working” is at once a personal attack (”he doesn’t work but rather vacations and golfs and hangs with celebs”), as well as a policy attack (”his Obama economic policies are not working and I can’t afford to have him as president for another 4 years”).

Revealed By WikiLeaks: Obama Team Stole Election, Bribed Jesse Jackson And Took Russian Money In 2008

According to internal Emails circulated among the staff at Stratfor, an Austin Texas based private intelligence gathering firm, John McCain was presented with proof that Democrats in Pennsylvania and Ohio used voter fraud to win those states and committed other disturbing crimes. The communiqués were stolen and made public by WikiLeaks.

An Email dated November 7, 2008 under the subject line “ Insight – The Dems & Dirty Tricks ** Internal Use Only – Pls Do Not Forward **,” was sent by Fred Burton, Stratfor’s V.P. of Intelligence. It said in part, The black Dems were caught stuffing the ballot boxes in Philly and Ohio as reported the night of the election and Sen. McCain chose not to fight. The matter is not dead inside the party. It now becomes a matter of sequence now as to how and when to “out”.

Burton also mentioned a “six-figure” Democrat donation/bribe to Jesse Jackson to buy his silence about Israel. On October 14, 2008 Jackson told fellow attendees in at the World Policy Forum in Evian France a ‘President Obama’ would “remove the clout of Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades.”

Burton continued with an explosive charge he apparently considered quite believable, The hunt is on for the sleezy Russian money into O-mans coffers. A smoking gun has already been found. Will get more on this when the time is right. My source was too giddy to continue. Can you say Clinton and ChiCom funny money? This also becomes a matter of how and when to out.

This allegation makes some sense of Obama’s reassurances to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev caught by an open mic. Obama said “….but it’s important for him [Putin] to give me space.”

Medvedev responded: “Yeah, I understand. I understand your message about space. Space for you …”

Obama: “This is my last election. After my election, I have more flexibility.”

Medvedev: “I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir [Putin]…”

Fred Burton is a known quantity in the highest Intelligence circles. He has been Deputy Chief of the Department of State’s counterterrorism division for the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS).

Stratfor has acknowledged that last December its internal communications system was hacked and the group “Anonymous” has taken credit for the sabotage . WikiLeaks started to publish Stratfor’s stolen Emails last month. Startfor will neither confirm nor deny whether the communiqués attributed to its staff are real or fabrications.

    THE O JESSE KNOWS

    JACKSON ON OBAMA’S AMERICA

    October 14, 2008

    EVIAN, FRANCE

PREPARE for a new America: That’s the message that the Rev. Jesse Jackson conveyed to participants in the first World Policy Forum, held at this French lakeside resort last week.

He promised “fundamental changes” in US foreign policy – saying America must “heal wounds” it has caused to other nations, revive its alliances and apologize for the “arrogance of the Bush administration.”

The most important change would occur in the Middle East, where “decades of putting Israel’s interests first” would end.

Jackson believes that, although “Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades” remain strong, they’ll lose a great deal of their clout when Barack Obama enters the White House.

“Obama is about change,” Jackson told me in a wide-ranging conversation. “And the change that Obama promises is not limited to what we do in America itself. It is a change of the way America looks at the world and its place in it.”

Jackson warns that he isn’t an Obama confidant or adviser, “just a supporter.” But he adds that Obama has been “a neighbor or, better still, a member of the family.” Jackson’s son has been a close friend of Obama for years, and Jackson’s daughter went to school with Obama’s wife Michelle.

“We helped him start his career,” says Jackson. “And then we were always there to help him move ahead. He is the continuation of our struggle for justice not only for the black people but also for all those who have been wronged.”

Will Obama’s election close the chapter of black grievances linked to memories of slavery? The reverend takes a deep breath and waits a long time before responding.

    http://www.nypost.com/p/news/opinion/opedcolumnists/item_6OMiQxyZEhxOR6i0Hdag9O

“No, that chapter won’t be closed,” he says. “However, Obama’s victory will be a huge step in the direction we have wanted America to take for decades.”

Jackson rejects any suggestion that Obama was influenced by Marxist ideas in his youth. “I see no evidence of that,” he says. “Obama’s thirst for justice and equality is rooted in his black culture.”

But is Obama – who’s not a descendant of slaves – truly a typical American black?

Jackson emphatically answers yes: “You don’t need to be a descendant of slaves to experience the oppression, the suffocating injustice and the ugly racism that exists in our society,” he says. “Obama experienced the same environment as all American blacks did. It was nonsense to suggest that he was somehow not black enough to feel the pain.”

Is Jackson worried about the “Bradley effect” – that people may be telling pollsters they favor the black candidate, but won’t end up voting for him?

It would be a great contrast, a healthy contrast from Obama for these stories to come out. But the CBS guys are blaming Mitt for not creating that narrative. Suffering doesn’t always produce sympathy, and sympathy doesn’t always qualify you as an expert even on one particular disease, much less on the issues of WORKING women.

Muller’s analysis is part of the Berkeley Earth Surface Temperature study and is a review of the scientific data used to determine whether the average surface temperatures (historical and present day) are reliable. The study received $150,000 from the Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation, which is associated with the Koch brothers who made their money in the oil industry. The study also received $100,000 from both the William K. Bowes Foundation and a foundation established by Bill Gates.

In the WSJ article Muller explains:

“When we began our study, we felt that skeptics had raised legitimate issues, and we didn’t know what we’d find. Our results turned out to be close to those published by prior groups. We think that means that those groups had truly been very careful in their work, despite their inability to convince some skeptics of that.”

  69. Senate Dems pushing bill to block Arizona immigration law if Supreme Court upholds it.

Senate Democrats are pushing new legislation aimed at nullifying Arizona’s controversial immigration law — just in case the Supreme Court, which hears the case Wednesday, upholds the policy.

The proposal, announced Tuesday by Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., would stand virtually no chance of passing in the Republican-controlled House. But it marks the latest preemptive challenge by Democrats to a high-stakes Supreme Court decision. (Another PRETEND PROPOSAL, just like the pretend proposals the Reps pass that go nowhere).

The immigration case arrives at the high court Wednesday just weeks after the justices heard arguments in the multi-state challenge to the federal health care overhaul. Though the justices are not expected to rule in that case until summer, President Obama had cautioned the “unelected” judges against overturning his landmark domestic policy accomplishment — claiming such a move would be “unprecedented.” (ANOTHER THREAT TO THE SUPREMES BY BARRY)

Schumer’s fallback option on the Arizona immigration case holds a similar message. If the high court upholds the law, the congressional proposal would be a direct rebuke to that decision.

President Obama tries to recapture youth vote
By Amie Parnes – 04/23/12 08:27 PM ET

President Obama is making a concerted effort to recapture the support of young voters who have grown skeptical of his administration.

Obama will visit three college campuses in swing states this week, where he’ll try to appeal to young voters by urging Congress to pass legislation to prevent interest rates on subsidized student loans from doubling to 6.8 percent this summer.

He’ll appear at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the University of Colorado at Boulder and the University of Iowa, where he’ll make his student loan pitch before large audiences of the country’s youngest voters. All three states were in Obama’s column in 2008.

Before leaving Chapel Hill on Tuesday, the president will aim for an even larger audience of young voters when he appears on NBC’s “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.”

Obama’s campus tour comes as recent polls indicate that he might have lost some of the “magic dust” one former administration official says he carried in 2008.

The campaign “needs the youth vote now more than ever,” said one former senior administration official. “While we know support is still strong, we’re not taking anything for granted.”

😆 😆 Idiots. They can’t even sell tickets for $3.00 to have dinner with Barry and Clooney.

  72. Aha, Samantha Powers atrocities board appt is about capturing the youth vote thingy. Her work on genocide is what gets a lot of young people on campuses excited and Obama bringing her back into the headlines is part of that. Cheap trick.

You may be overthinking this. Most college kids care more about getting a job when they get out. Maybe an idealist or two will think this is great–a Nuremberg in a nutshell–with no enforcement powers. I think this has more to do with moving her out of where she is now, and rewarding her hubby who is the regulatory Czar. Who out there in the electorate at large is obsessing about genocide–other than me and a friend of mine who are getting an exhibit to the Holocaust Museum. If this is intended to placate the Jews, Obama could not have picked a bigger dud than Power to head it up.

  74. This is so great…

Long lines and inspiration accompany Hillary Clinton at SUEven before the doors opened for students to find a seat to see Secretary of State Hillary Clinton speak at Syracuse University Monday morning, a line began to form. Over the next couple of hours, it kept growing as a sturdy column of students, faculty, and community members stretched through campus in the cold rain.

SU Senior Zach Schleien says he arrived at 8:30 am. “We were actually at the very end of the line, but we waited it out. It’s really long, let’s say two and a half football fields,” he said.

His friend corrected him. “It’s half a kilometer!”

At ten, about two hours before the Secretary arrived, security personnel began funneling the crowd of more than a thousand through a row of metal detectors.

Syracuse resident Mary Lou Balcom says she wrote Clinton’s name on the ballot in 2008.

“I don’t really agree right now, with a lot of things that are going on. I would just as soon see us out of Iraq and Iran,” Balcom said. “But I really think she’s very diplomatic. I think she’s doing her best to solve a lot of conflicts.”

Some people who waited didn’t even make it inside, when SU’s Hendricks Chapel reached its maximum seating capacity of 1,100 people. But there was one lucky person who escaped the colossal line, quite by accident.

“You know, I parked the car… I saw a back door, and I walked in!” said Clay resident Ed Stronsky. He guesses that his baseball hat that says “News Junkie” made security personnel think he was a reporter.

For an hour, Clinton discussed policy and the difficulty of foreign diplomacy with her former deputy secretary James Steinberg, now Dean of SU’s Maxwell School.

Grad student Laura Alexander said the event reinforced her decision to take the first part of the Foreign Service exam in June.

“I’m very interested in the development side of diplomacy,” she said. “Being able to affect the lives of others in a positive way… not even to affect them, to enable them to affect their own lives in a positive way.”

Alexander will be able to take her first step this summer as an intern for the State Department.

  77. Rapid-Response Romney

Excellent summary of the new and improved Rep campaign tactics.

    http://www.nationalreview.com/blogs/print/296818

    Some excerpts
    By Jim Geraghty
    April 24, 2012 4:00 A.M.

Veterans of John McCain’s presidential campaign of 2008 lamented a maddening process that only worsened as that election season progressed. A liberal blog would make a stunning allegation about McCain or, later, Sarah Palin that was not easily verified or disproved. Within an hour or two, a major newspaper reporter or television news producer would call the campaign and demand a comment or denial; the clock was ticking to avoid the dreaded “the McCain campaign had no comment,” which suggested evasiveness or a de facto confirmation of the often bogus or wildly exaggerated claim.

Patrick Hynes, who was an online-communications consultant for McCain, recalls Sam Stein of the Huffington Post calling about a rumor that McCain had been involved in a car accident that killed someone shortly after returning from Vietnam, and that military authorities had somehow covered up the entire incident.

“Within a very short period of time, the Associated Press called, and we had to take the time to debunk it,” Hynes recalled. “It was a smart tactical move on the part of the Obama people, because the time we spent debunking that we could have done much more fruitful work in terms of a communications strategy. That was the one that blew me away — that something trickling up from the lefty blogs could make its way to the Huffington Post and the Associated Press in an afternoon, something just absurd on its face.” (Stein ultimately wrote about reporters from Rolling Stone and the National Security News Service fighting with the U.S. Navy over records that could illuminate details of the purported 1974 car crash.)

The other side of the coin was that John McCain didn’t want to win the race by using any tactics he deemed “dirty campaigning.” John Heilemann and Mark Halperin’s account of the 2008 race, Game Change, details how McCain was emphatic that Obama’s mentor, Jeremiah Wright, was off-limits, at the precise moment that the Obama camp was testing its own vulnerabilities in focus groups: “Dozens of Obama-funded faux negative ads against Obama were produced and tested: about Wright, [Bill] Ayers, Muslimism, the flag pin — the works. And some were devastatingly effective.”

The bad news for Obama four years later is that the first weeks of the general-election campaign have demonstrated that Mitt Romney and his top staff are not going to play by the same rules as the McCain campaign.

On April 11, Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen appeared on Anderson Cooper’s CNN program and scoffed at Ann Romney’s value to her husband in helping assess the economic challenges of women voters by declaring that “she never worked a day in her life.”

Some campaigns might have questioned how much they could do with an off-key insulting comment from a talking head. But the Romney camp made sure a YouTube video of the comment was distributed to hundreds of blogs, and less than two hours after Rosen’s comment, Ann Romney set up a Twitter account. Her first message was, “I made a choice to stay home and raise five boys. Believe me, it was hard work.” Obama’s chief strategist, David Axelrod, and campaign manager Jim Messina were quick to assert that they disagreed with Rosen’s comment, and the next day, Michelle Obama, DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and the president himself followed suit.
    ***************************************************

The article goes on to chronicle the infamous “dog” story.

Many conservative bloggers and reporters believe that mainstream publications and networks ignore stories that make the president or his allies look bad. One of the few surefire ways to force the media to cover a story they would prefer to ignore is to have the Republican presidential candidate talk about it. In 2008, McCain’s refusal to do so was particularly hobbling, but the Romney campaign is, so far at least, proving more willing to highlight those controversial topics or ones best handled with a bit of laughter — and utilizing the later hours of the campaign news cycle to do it.

“Twitter has really quickened the news cycle,” says Ryan Williams, who worked for Romney in 2008 and is a spokesman for the current campaign. “You have to respond faster, and if you don’t respond faster, you’re going to lose. The Rosen thing broke at 9 o’clock at night on a Wednesday. This is a time when in previous cycles, you couldn’t move a story. It was after the evening news, after most of the papers had gone to print or were about to go to print, and you couldn’t get anything out there. Now with Twitter and everything, it’s completely different.”
The Romney campaign is approaching the coming weeks with a strategy of “bracketing” — doing events before and after key Obama campaign stops, making Obama’s message for that event implausible, refuted, and silly by the time he delivers his remarks. Before an Obama stop, Romney will do interviews with local radio stations. Last week Romney went to Charlotte, N.C., to give a “pre-buttal” to Obama’s acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention in September. Romney was supposed to speak on a rooftop with a view of the convention site, the Bank of America football stadium; bad weather forced his team indoors, and Romney spoke with a the city skyline behind him.
    **************************************************

One of Romney’s communication strategists says that while he’s not counting chickens before they’ve hatched, he’s pleasantly surprised by how flatfooted the Obama camp has proven on these breaking stories. “They have 700 people in Chicago — 50 percent of their staff is social media,” the strategist says. “I’m afraid to be happy about it, because they can’t be this weak.

  78. Not that we needed another example, but once again we have one more NBC “star” telegraphing to the world the poisonous leadership style Steve Capus has brought to the NBC Network.

    by John Nolte

Capus is the President of NBC News and MSNBC. According to the NBC/Universal Website, Capus is also the network’s “arbiter of issues involving ethics, style, standards, safety and other matters that affect the Division’s journalistic bearing.”
Which of course is pure nonsense.

At NBC News there simply are no standards or ethics, only an environment fostered by Capus that continually allows for the worst kind of divisive race-baiting we’ve seen in decades. And this cynical political maneuver that’s become a part of NBC’s DNA and identity, is a purely partisan tactical move designed only to keep Obama’s base angry and eager to vote against the “Grand Wizards” in the Republican party.

Yesterday, on the increasing execrable “Hardball,” the increasingly hateful Chris Matthews became the latest member of NBC News to connect the term “Grand Wizard” to the Republican Party (see the video below). If you remember, back in November, David Gregory, host of “Meet the Press” did the same.

This is no accident. It’s the planting of seeds using both subtext and text.

Moreover, under Capus’ appalling leadership, three times in as many years, NBC News has been caught red-handed manipulating photos, video, and audio in order to craft an act of racism where none existed.

In two of those cases, there was no disciplinary action taken against the guilty party. In the instance of the George Zimmerman 911 audio, we’re told a producer was fired but haven’t yet been told his or her name. Which means this person could’ve been immediately rehired by NBC or another network.

It’s also no accident that all three of NBC’s racial forgeries were used to either damage political threats to Obama (Rick Perry, Tea Party) and to aid and abet Obama’s racially-driven co-opting of the Trayvon Martin shooting to gin up his base in the crucial swing state of Florida.

Everything about NBC is leftist and toxic, because that’s exactly how Capus wants it.

That’s what wbboei was saying the other day.

  79. Obama questions White House Advance Team on whether they had any knowledge of or involvement in the sex scandal involving the Secret Serice:

Q-1: whom is more important–a president or a lowly staffer?

Q-2: if a staffer has to take the fall for a president, that is a logical outcome right?

Q-3: you realize, of course, that the racist Republicans (rr for short) are trying to tie me to this right?

Q-4: and the only way they can do that is through you? All other trap doors have been shut?

Q-5: you understand that I have placed my trust in you, right?

Q-6: you also understand that I have suspended habeus corus, correct?

Q-7: now then, you had no involvement in the sex scandal did you?

Q-8: and when the racist republican from Iowa says you were not thoroughly examined on this issue, you will tell him point blank that the examination was “exhaustive, unrelenting and left no stone unturned”–right?

    An $8 billion trick?

Toying with Medicare to fix election

Call it President Obama’s Committee for the Re-Election of the President — a political slush fund at the Health and Human Services Department.

Only this isn’t some little fund from shadowy private sources; this is taxpayer money, redirected to help Obama win another term. A massive amount of it, too — $8.3 billion. Yes, that’s billion, with a B.

    Here is how it works.

The most oppressive aspects of the ObamaCare law don’t kick in until after the 2012 election, when the president will no longer be answerable to voters. More “flexibility,” he recently explained to the Russians.

But certain voters would surely notice one highly painful part of the law before then — namely, the way it guts the popular Medicare Advantage program.

For years, 12 million seniors have relied on these policies, a more market-oriented alternative to traditional Medicare, without the aggravating gaps in coverage.

But as part of its hundreds of billions in Medicare cuts, the Obama one-size-fits-all plan slashes reimbursement rates for Medicare Advantage starting next year — herding many seniors back into the government-run program.

Under federal “open-enrollment” guidelines, seniors must pick their Medicare coverage program for next year by the end of this year — which means they should be finding out before Election Day.

Nothing is more politically volatile than monkeying with the health insurance of seniors, who aren’t too keen on confusing upheavals in their health care and are the most diligent voters in the land. This could make the Tea Party look like a tea party.

Making matters even more politically dangerous for Obama is that open enrollment begins Oct. 15, less than three weeks before voters go to the polls.

It’s hard to imagine a bigger electoral disaster for a president than seniors in crucial states like Florida, Pennsylvania and Ohio discovering that he’s taken away their beloved Medicare Advantage just weeks before an election.

This political ticking time bomb could become the biggest “October Surprise” in US political history.

But the administration’s devised a way to postpone the pain one more year, getting Obama past his last election; it plans to spend $8 billion to temporarily restore Medicare Advantage funds so that seniors in key markets don’t lose their trusted insurance program in the middle of Obama’s re-election bid.

The money is to come from funds that Health and Human Services is allowed to use for “demonstration projects.” But to make it legal, HHS has to pretend that it’s doing an “experiment” to study the effect of this money on the insurance market.

That is, to “study” what happens when the government doesn’t change anything but merely continues a program that’s been going on for years.

Obama can temporarily prop up Medicare Advantage long enough to get re-elected by exploiting an obscure bit of federal law. Under a 1967 statute, the HHS secretary can spend money without specific approval by Congress on “experiments” directly aimed at “increasing the efficiency and economy of health services.”

Past demonstration projects have studied new medical techniques or strategies aimed at improving care or reducing costs. The point is to find ways to lower the costs of Medicare by allowing medical technocrats to make efficient decisions without interference from vested interests.

Now Obama means to turn it on its head — diverting the money to a blatantly nonexperimental purpose to serve his political needs.

A Government Accounting Office report released this morning shows, quite starkly, that there simply is no experiment being conducted, just money being spent. Understandably, the GAO recommends that HHS cancel the project.

Congress should immediately launch an investigation into this unprecedented misuse of taxpayer money and violation of the public trust, which certainly presses the boundaries of legality and very well may breach them.

If he’s not stopped, Obama will spend $8 billion in taxpayer funds for a scheme to mask the debilitating effects on seniors of his signature piece of legislation just long enough to get himself re-elected.

Now that is some serious audacity.

Benjamin E. Sasse, a former US assistant secretary of health, is president of Midland University. Charles Hurt covers politics in DC.

If you notice that Obama is not working, that Obama is in way over his head, that Barack Obama does not have a clue about what he is supposed to do – that’s somehow racist. Black people are so delicate and weak and they are all exactly the same that one black person cannot be accused of being a boob. That’s racist.

Exactly! What’s there to like about him?

  84. Yes, turndownobama, it’s abundantly clear that you dislike Catholicism. I dislike Islam. To each their own.

  85. I read Lame Cherry periodically. I sure would like to know who the writer is for that blog. The writer writes as if he or she ( I conclude the writer is female) is some type of prophet or clairvoyent. She comes across as what many may refer to as a “kook”, but my interest in her writings is to see how much of it actually mirrors the truth. I believe in prophesy, but I also believe that there are plenty of false prophets. I just wish Lame Cherry’s writing style was more ordinary because there are times that I don’t understand what she has written. She has written that Obama stole 10 million votes in the last election. I do not know if it was through flipping votes in electronic voting machines, nor do I know how she would even know it happened for sure, though I tend to believe Obama stole the last election. Now I read hear at His44 that there are wikileaks that show ballot stuffing in Ohio and Pennsylvania to the point that McCain lost those two states to Obama and thus lost the election. Coincidence?

  86. Obama is scared. Republicans are seeing a flood of young people registering R in swing states. If the polls are correct, Obama has lost around 17 points of the youth vote compared to 2008.

Republicans point to a narrowing registration gap between the two parties in the three states Obama is visiting on his two-day swing. Republican registrations among 18 to 24 in North Carolina, Colorado and Iowa have all increased since 2008, according to data provided by the RNC via the three state secretaries of state offices.

In Colorado, young voters registered Democrat at almost a 2 to 1 split. In 2011, that gap has been narrowed to almost 1 to 1, with 11,542 Democratic registrations vs. 11,573 Republican registrations. In Iowa, Republicans lead in 2011 voter registrations amount young people, overcoming an almost 2 to 1 advantage in 2008.

The RNC data complements research done by the Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement at Tufts University that showed Democrats have lost a significant registration advantage among young people in North Carolina and Nevada.

Obama won the 18-24 year old vote in 2008 by a 34 point margin, beating John McCain 66 to 32. The most recent survey shows Obama leading Mitt Romney by a 17 point margin.

  89. Fun Fact of The Day: Each U.S. Household’s Share of Unfunded Medicare And Social Security Liability Is Over $538K…

According to the trustee reports the combined amount of unfunded liabilities is $63 trillion, which equates to over $583,000 for the 117K households in America.

(CNS News) – Medicare faces an unfunded liability of $38.6 trillion, according to the Medicare Trustees report released Monday.

The unfunded liability is the amount that has been promised in benefits to people now alive that will not be funded by the tax revenue the system is expected to take in to pay for those benefits. (The Medicare Trustees calculate the unfunded liability for a period of 75 years into the future.)

The $38.6 trillion in unfunded benefits Medicare is expected to pay over the next 75 years equals $328,404.43 for each of the 117,538,000 households the Census Bureau said there were in the United States in 2010.
