Truth And Consequences – Hillary Clinton And Donald Trump – Birth Certificate Or Death Certificate

Day after day Big Media contradicts our reporting on the relationship between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Only rarely, usually while spinning new tales of how brilliant Barack Obama is, does the truth emerge in Big Media and our version of reality is confirmed.

Big Media publishes and republishes the fiction that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are a swell “team of rivals’ without any friction and that Hillary Clinton is the lapdog of Barack Obama (“Once she joined Obama’s team, her tenure was devoted to shaping and promoting Obama’s message.“).

We have published article after article debunking this nonsense. Barack Obama has been at war with Hillary Clinton since Day 1 and Hillary Clinton is well aware of the viperous treachery and boobery contained in the garbage can called Barack Obama.

The Team of Rivals narrative is nonsense historically and utter rubbish in regards to Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Today that nonsense narrative is smashed once again and leaves Obama lovin’ Ben Smith speechless and bereft of snark:

Holbrooke had been a devoted supporter of Hillary Clinton during the Presidential campaign, and she protected him from Obama aides who viewed with suspicion his sizable ego and stream of positive press clippings. When a top official at the White House tried to push Holbrooke out, in early 2010, Clinton intervened on his behalf. But Holbrooke still could not get a one-on-one meeting with the President. And at the crucial national-security meetings on Afghanistan Clinton did not adopt Holbrooke’s views. She sided with Gates and the generals in calling for the maximum number of soldiers to surge into Afghanistan. Obama agreed to send thirty thousand more troops, although he insisted that they would start coming home in July, 2011. Holbrooke’s widow, the writer Kati Marton, who has been reviewing her husband’s memos and archives, told me that they “tell a dramatic story of a fractured relationship between the State Department and White House.”

On December 11, 2010, while meeting with Clinton at the State Department, Holbrooke suffered a split aorta, and he died forty-eight hours later. Bill Clinton spoke at Holbrooke’s memorial service, held on January 14th at the Kennedy Center. “I loved the guy—because he could do,” Clinton said. “Doing in diplomacy saves lives.” He went on, “And I never did understand how people would let a little rough edges, which to me was so obvious what he was doing, it was so obvious why he felt the way he did—I could never understand people who didn’t appreciate him.” Several people told Marton they thought that Bill Clinton was sending a message to Obama.”

Ben Smith does not have the intellectual integrity to admit that our reporting is accurate and his “team of rivals, team player” buffoonery is fiction. Ryan Lizza, author of “The Consequentialist“, fails to address the “dramatic story of a fractured relationship between the State Department and White House.”

Lizza’s article does however have a great many examples of that “fractured relationship” and even more troubling examples of Obama boobery which endanger this country:

“Obama’s other key campaign promise—to engage with the leaders of countries hostile to the U.S.—sometimes meant deëmphasizing democracy and human rights, which had been tainted by Bush’s “freedom agenda” in the Middle East. Tyrannical regimes are less likely to make deals with you if you talk persistently about overthrowing them. [snip]

A week later, however, a disputed Presidential election in Iran triggered large demonstrations there, which were soon labelled the Green Revolution. For the first five months after his Inauguration, Obama had tried to engage with the regime of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in an effort to persuade Iran to abandon its nuclear ambitions. Now he faced the choice between keeping his distance and coming to the aid of the nascent pro-democracy movement, which was rallying behind Mir-Hossein Mousavi, who had finished second behind Ahmadinejad. Obama chose to keep his distance, providing only mild rhetorical support. In an interview with CNBC after the protests began, he said that “the difference between Ahmadinejad and Mousavi in terms of their actual policies may not be as great as has been advertised.”

Barack Obama persisted in his foolish 2008 “no preconditions” bowing to rogue states and betrayed the people of Iran at a moment that involvement could have been a decisive blow against one of America’s most dangerous enemies. Hillary Clinton, unlike Obama, was not a fool and she tried to help the people of Iran and the people of the United States:

“During the peak of the protests in Iran, Jared Cohen, a young staffer at the State Department who worked for Slaughter, contacted officials at Twitter and asked the company not to perform a planned upgrade that would have shut down the service temporarily in Iran, where protesters were using it to get information to the international media. The move violated Obama’s rule of non-interference.

White House officials “were so mad that somebody had actually ‘interfered’ in Iranian politics, because they were doing their damnedest to not interfere,” the former Administration official said. “Now, to be fair to them, it was also the understanding that if we interfered it could look like the Green movement was Western-backed, but that really wasn’t the core of it. The core of it was we were still trying to engage the Iranian government and we did not want to do anything that made us side with the protesters. To the Secretary’s credit, she realized, I think, before other people, that this is ridiculous, that we had to change our line.” The official said that Cohen “almost lost his job over it. If it had been up to the White House, they would have fired him.”

Clinton did not betray any disagreement with the President over Iran policy, but in an interview with me she cited Cohen’s action with pride. [snip] Now, we were very clear in saying, ‘We are supporting those who are protesting peacefully,’ and we put our social-media gurus at work in trying to keep connections going, so that we helped to provide that base for communicating that was necessary for the demonstrations.”

The Iranian dictators could not have had a greater friend than Barack Obama. The American people and the Iranian people had a fighter for democracy in Hillary Clinton.

On Egypt (again, our reports were accurate and Big Media was wrong) Hillary Clinton was attacked because she knew what she was doing and that was not the “popular” choice. Barack Obama was loved by the Muslim Brotherhood:

“A number of familiar ex-diplomats and politicians, led by Dick Cheney, Henry Kissinger, and Zbigniew Brzezinski, criticized the treatment of Mubarak, and Israel and Saudi Arabia called on the Administration to stick with him. But, as the protests strengthened, it became clear that Mubarak was doomed. According to a senior Administration official, “The question in our mind was ‘How do you manage that?’ ”

Obama’s instinct was to try to have it both ways. [snip]

This wasn’t an easy balance to maintain, and the first major problem arose when State Department officials learned that if Mubarak stepped down immediately, the Egyptian constitution would require a Presidential election in sixty days, long before any of the moderate parties could get organized. Egyptian officials warned the Administration that it could lead to the Muslim Brotherhood’s taking over power. “My daughter gets to go out at night,” Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Egypt’s then foreign minister, told Secretary Clinton during one conversation. “And, God damn it, I’m not going to turn this country over to people who will turn back the clock on her rights.” [snip]

“I am now careful to conclude my work for Egypt by presenting Egypt to the next government in a constitutional way which will protect Egypt,” Mubarak said. “I want to say, in clear terms, that in the next few months that are remaining of my current reign I will work very hard to carry out all the necessary measures to transfer power.” [snip]

Obama then made a public statement that was more confrontational: “An orderly transition must be meaningful, it must be peaceful, and it must begin now.” The urgent message alienated Israel and Saudi Arabia, among other allies. It also startled some people in the State Department. Clinton “walked a very narrow line and managed to do it without making the Egyptians too angry on either side,” a senior State Department official said. “After the President gave his statement, the people surrounding Mubarak began to get quite angry.” [snip]

The public and private components of the Administration’s Egypt policy were at odds, and Wisner had risked blowing everything up. His tenure as an envoy was over. “They threw me under the bus,” a close friend remembers him saying.

Wisner referred dismissively to the “reëlection committee” at the White House, according to the friend.”

The Iron Veil threatened to fall over Egypt and Obama fell over himself even as Hillary walked the fine line without tripping. Today a new poll from Egypt suggests our fears were valid.

Obama worried about himself and mocked Mubarak’s warnings about the Muslim Brotherhood. Hillary Clinton shook her head in disbelief:

“In March, I travelled to Cairo with Secretary Clinton. One evening, she was scheduled to meet with Egyptians who had been prominent in the protests that brought down Mubarak. However, one group, called the Coalition of Youth Revolution, which includes leaders from the activist movements and opposition parties in Egypt, boycotted the meeting. As Clinton talked with other civil-society members upstairs at the Four Seasons Hotel, four members of the abstaining coalition agreed to talk with me and three other journalists in the lobby.

I asked why they weren’t upstairs with the Secretary of State. “Hillary was against the revolution from the beginning to the last day, O.K.?” Mohammed Abbas, of the Muslim Brotherhood, said. “Obama supported this revolution. She was against.”

Abbas and Shady el-Ghazaly Harb, a member of the liberal Democratic Front Party, said that if Obama was upstairs they would meet with him. Abbas lit up at the idea. “We respect Obama’s attitude toward our revolution, and when we were in Tahrir Square we were following all of the leaders all over the world and what were their views,” Abbas said.

His speeches were more understanding and more appreciative of what we were doing, especially his second one,” el-Ghazaly Harb said, referring to Obama’s demand that the transition “begin now.” He added, “We were in Tahrir Square and people were cheering for Obama’s speech, because they felt he was saying that we”—America—“were inspired by the Egyptian people and we understand what the teen-agers were saying. Maybe he’s using us, but that’s what I see.”

Later, when I relayed these comments to Clinton, she told me she didn’t take the snub personally. She said, “Many years ago, I was active against the Vietnam War, and I was involved in all kinds of student politics, and so I understand there’s always a full range of people in movements like this. And I remember refusing to meet with people.” She was unmoved by the fact that these protesters had been integral to starting the revolution. “The people who start revolutions may or may not be the people who actually end up governing countries.”

The activists she did meet with were not as organized as she had hoped. “As incredibly emotional and moving and inspiring as it was,” she said, speaking of the demonstrations, “I looked at these twenty young people around the table, and they were complaining about how the elections are going to be held, and the Muslim Brotherhood and the Islamists are so well organized, and the remnants of the old National Democratic Party are so well organized. I said, ‘So, well, are you organizing? Do you have an umbrella group that is going to represent the youth of Egypt? Do you have a political agenda?’ And they all looked up and said no. It made my heart sink.

Hillary Clinton has experience both as a student protestor against the Vietnam War and as a key player within the White House years later. She understands the intoxicating and romantic pull of “revolution” as well as the potentially crushing results of misguided idealism. Hillary knows the Muslim Brotherhood is on the march and she deplores that fact.

Hillary Clinton was also right about Libya but unsurprisingly Barack Obama has bungled that as well – to the benefit of America’s enemies.

For all the examples of Hillary Clinton versus Barack Obama and the consequences for America in the Lizza article there is a much more chilling, much more ominous, much more dangerous TRUTH AND CONSEQUENCE:

“One of his advisers described the President’s actions in Libya as “leading from behind.” That’s not a slogan designed for signs at the 2012 Democratic Convention, but it does accurately describe the balance that Obama now seems to be finding. It’s a different definition of leadership than America is known for, and it comes from two unspoken beliefs: that the relative power of the U.S. is declining, as rivals like China rise, and that the U.S. is reviled in many parts of the world. Pursuing our interests and spreading our ideals thus requires stealth and modesty as well as military strength. “It’s so at odds with the John Wayne expectation for what America is in the world,” the adviser said. “But it’s necessary for shepherding us through this phase.”

It is these unspoken truths that drives Donald Trump and his supporters.

Today the DrudgeReport headline read “IMF: AGE OF AMERICA NEARS END” That’s the same as the “unspoken” belief of Obama that the “U.S. is declining” and that his role is “shepherding us through this phase.”

Donald Trump, like Hillary Clinton, is not about to shepherd America into decline. The world cannot afford to lose American leadership, flawed as it often is, and have the forced abortion dictators in China dictate and lead the world.

Today Ronald Donald Trump slapped Obama shill Robert DeNiro as “not the brightest bulb.” DeNiro had attacked Donald Trump for asking to see the Barack Obama birth certificate:

DeNiro is right: “Go get the facts before you start saying things about people.” Why didn’t DeNiro get the facts about Barack Obama in 2008 before he so foolishly endorsed the corrupt clown from Chicago?

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have the “facts” about Barack Obama. One or both of them will have to take Barack Obama on.

The fight in 2012 will not be about the missing Obama birth certificate, as important as it is to get documentation about Barack Obama.

2012 will be about making sure the purest values of America “shall not perish from this earth.”

2012 will be about making sure that there is no death certificate for the United States and the values of American society.

2012 will be about the birth or the death of America.

    By the way I have only heard Trump say he has changed his stance on abortion. He is a born and raised New Yorker, a businessman and a well traveled. I cannot see him appointing anyone to the SCOTUS who is extreme. And as far as same sex marriage goes Trump may be against it but he has been vociferous over the years in defense of gay rights. Going back when many more were silent.(Personally I think the government should get out of the whole marriage business. It is a religious rite and should. remain under the purview of those institutions. The gov’t should recognize unions between consenting adults and there should be no tax benefit or penalty based on one’s relationship status– IMHO)

One thing I’ll say for Trump, the man does not back down, he made one mistake of losing his cool a few weeks back with he was on with the Weiner man on CNN, but now he seems to be firm, but has not once lost his cool, he is a very adaptive person who will fight back and fight hard.

    The Celebrity Apprentice airs on nbc but they are not the production company. And have nothing to do with content.
    They buy a show and put it on the air(more convoluted than that but it is the essence)
    Where as the little man on msnbc may own a %of his show but nbc owns the lions share. The show is I believe categorized under entertainment as opposed to news(same with The view) and also doesn’t need to adhere to the “standards” of journalistic integrity(as if it even existed). But you would think that the o’donnell person would realize his name is more closely associated with the brand that is nbc news than is an all out entertainment program and keep his mouth shut.
    He is of marginal talent, dull as drying paint and does nothing but regurgitate Whitehouse talking points.
    Is he in anyway prepared to defend his own “entertainment” program vs TRUMP asking on a fluff show of a man named meatloaf if he should run for president?

Many heads will roll if the document is not there, and give real fire to the states who have started legislation requesting that document to run for office.

    Interesting how news comentators pretending, with a straight face, continue demonstrating the short form of Obama’s certificate as “thee” version of the BC Trump is talking about. The CNN video interviewing Dr. Shioni Fakino(sp) from the HI Dept of Health; never asks her what was the name of the doctor that delivered Obama and the attending nurse in that HI (cough) hospital or identifying the name of the hospital where Obama supposedly was born.

    A comedy of horrors- with the ever wide eyed reporters talking one thing and thinking another- (Boy- if you believe what I am saying folks, you’ll believe anything!)

  46. I am still really really pissed off by what I learned the other night because of reading here and following others thoughts on the McDonald’s assault in Baltimore.
    Universities/college teach in sociology/psychology/anthropology classes about the standbyer effect. I studied it in at least two maybe three classes. The whole theory was predicated on the case of kitty Genoveese in Queens. However it is all based on the story which was printed in the new york times. It didn’t happen the way I was instructed. I went out of my way to ask an old friend who is an adjunct at a small college. She at first shot me down and I implored her to look into it. She did and got back to me saying “the story was enhanced but the overall lesson is one worth teaching”
    Really an overall lesson about something that did not happen.
    Aaaaaah! Anyone else find this insane?

There have been other studies which show that people don’t respond to cries of “rape”, but will respond to cries of “fire” (it’s in their self interest). There’s also an established effect called “diffusion of responsibility”, where people assume someone else will respond to a crisis in front of them all. Not everything is based on that one case.

    setting aside how I felt at 18 to be brainwashed with regards to human behavior, I am more troubled today about how the propaganda machine known as the nytimes continues to year after year spew such fabrications. Lies. Over and over again year after year. I read a few of Ann Coulter’s books during the early part of the Dark Ages in America(2008 to 2010) and was inspired to check her research. Dead on every time and she exposes if not lies at the minimum duplicity upon the paper.
    For a long time I think the dowd’s and others could write as they saw it that day — approached without any responsibility for what they had written in the past. News stories were ephemeral at least as fire as the pseudo author was concerned. The ramifications might be felt for years but for the author a new story is all that matters. The truth or a tincture of perspective be damned.

  58. For the past several days, I have been wondering what the best way would be to convince independent voters that Obama will sell them out along with everyone else if he is re-elected. The letter from Erickson which I posted above adds to the urgency.

    If I were advising the Republican Party, then I would tell them to contact the Chamber of Commerce and get a list of the small to medium business they serve in their respective areas. I would then list all the onerous regulations Obama is imposing on small business. Then, I would give examples of other business which were forced to shut down and lay off their workforce because of what Obama is doing. And then I would have the leading small business member share this information with his employees, and report back to the group when he was done. And finally, I would let the Chamber decide whether to push other employees to follow suit, because their futures depend on Obama being defeated in 2012 so he does not destroy the country.

    You are correct Henry. I made it all up to illustrate a point. This is how big media, journalisters and pollsters proceed. It is how OD himself has been known to proceed. The mere suggestion that O’Donnell is a pedophile causes people to gasp and say maybe he is. Same way Larry throws around the term racist. Then the writer (in this case me) takes a supposedly neutral position, while impugning the target through innuendo. And no source is given, merely a rumor, an Administration source who is not identified. And because Larry is a public figure, it is hard for the victim to secure relief even if he is in fact damaged. Truth to tell, I do not think Larry O’Donnell is a pedophile. Bad as that is, I think he and is colleagues are worse.

Going to hit the hay now as I have vowed to myself to go to the nearest universities and look up “by stander effect” and “diffused responsibility” in the texts that our children are subjected. Lorac may have a great point, I don’t know. Myself I have never born witness to an individuals cries going without a response. Twenty years in NYC and I have seen many a person walk by a mother struggling with bags and a stroller down the subway stairs but I have never seen her make it more than two steps before someone pitched in.

    Trump Bashes Obama, Questions Qualifications for Ivy League 🙂

    NEW YORK — Real estate mogul Donald Trump suggested in an interview Monday that President Barack Obama had been a poor student who did not deserve to be admitted to the Ivy League universities he attended. Trump, who is mulling a bid for the Republican presidential nomination, offered no proof for his claim but said he would continue to press the matter as he has the legitimacy of the president’s birth certificate.

    “I heard he was a terrible student, terrible. How does a bad student go to Columbia and then to Harvard?” Trump said in an interview with The Associated Press. “I’m thinking about it, I’m certainly looking into it. Let him show his records.”

    Obama graduated from Columbia University in New York in 1983 with a degree in political science after transferring from Occidental College in California. He went on to Harvard Law School, where he graduated magna cum laude 1991 and was the first black president of the Harvard Law Review.

    Obama’s 2008 campaign did not release his college transcripts, and in his best-selling memoir, “Dreams From My Father,” Obama indicated he hadn’t always been an academic star. Trump told the AP that Obama’s refusal to release his college grades were part of a pattern of concealing information about himself.

    “I have friends who have smart sons with great marks, great boards, great everything and they can’t get into Harvard,” Trump said. “We don’t know a thing about this guy. There are a lot of questions that are unanswered about our president.”

    Katie Hogan, a spokeswoman for Obama’s re-election campaign, declined to comment.

    Trump, a wealthy businessman and reality TV host, has risen to the top of many polls in part by his outspoken call for Obama to release his long form birth certificate. The state of Hawaii has released a certificate of live birth indicating Obama was born there on August 4, 1961, but that has not quelled critics who believe Obama was born outside the United States and is therefore not qualified to be president.

    The so-called “birther” controversy has dominated the early stage of the 2012 GOP nominating contest, with Trump leading the charge.

    “I have more people that are excited about the fact that I reinvigorated this whole issue,” Trump said, adding “the last guy (Obama) wants to run against is Donald Trump.”

    Trump is scheduled to travel to the early primary states of New Hampshire and Nevada this week and said he will make a final decision about a presidential bid by June.

    – Said Republicans had made a mistake by embracing a budget proposal crafted by Wisconsin GOP Rep. Paul Ryan that included deep cuts in Medicare. “The seniors are afraid. The plan Paul Ryan put forth has made the Democrats so happy,” Trump said.

    – Expressed surprise that the 2008 GOP nominee, John McCain, had suggested Trump’s effort was a publicity stunt. “I congratulate him for getting the attention he’s getting,” McCain told NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday.

    Trump said he had been a big supporter of McCain. “I would find it hard to believe he would say anything bad because I raised a fantastic amount of money for him,” Trump said.

    US Shariah Infiltrations (Part 2)

    While all eyes this week are on London’s royal couple Prince William and Kate Middleton, my eyes are on an opening statement from the U.K.’s Daily Mail Reporter: “Women who do not wear headscarves are being threatened with violence and even death by Islamic extremists intent on imposing (Shariah) on parts of Britain.”

    Of course, we’re told such views represent an extreme minority. Yet just a few months ago, the Los Angeles Times contested that thread, in an article titled “Majority of Muslims want Islam in politics, poll says.” The poll was taken in seven countries with large Muslim populations.

    The Times reported: “According to the survey, majorities in Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan and Nigeria would favor changing current laws to allow stoning as a punishment for adultery, hand amputation for theft and death for those who convert from Islam to another religion. About 85 percent of Pakistani Muslims said they would support a law segregating men and women in the workplace.”

    But we shouldn’t believe such sentiment ever could reach the shores of America, right? Or has it already penetrated our land and even our governmental seats?

    I’ll say what I said at the outset of last week’s column: It is no mystery that radical Islamists intend to use the freedoms in our Constitution to expand the influence of Shariah, or Islamic law. And let me categorically restate that I’m neither an Islamophobe nor a fear-monger. I welcome the plurality of religions in America and am a firm believer in the First Amendment. But just as our religious freedom is secured in the Bill of Rights, so is our freedom of speech to share even our religious concerns.

    Having defined what Shariah is in Part 1, here I’m going to give what I label as the top 10 evidences to date that support the fact that Shariah is seeping into society, from homes to halls of justice. As you read these, ask not only what they mean today but also how they might escalate and morph 10 years from now into more progressive forms.

    10) According to Middle East Quarterly, Muzzammil Hassan informed New York police on Feb. 12, 2009, that he had beheaded his wife, being justified by Shariah. Hassan emigrated to the U.S. 30 years ago. In 2007, after Aqsa Parvez was murdered by her father in Toronto for not wearing hijab (the headscarf worn by Muslim women), Sheila Musaji wrote in The American Muslim, “Although this certainly is a case of domestic violence … ‘honor’ killings are not only a Muslim problem, and there is no ‘honor’ involved.” For those who think these heinous crimes are just random acts of domestic violence, a study published in the spring 2009 edition of Middle East Quarterly documented how 50 honor killings in the U.S. over the past 20 years prove otherwise.

    9) Fox News reported that in 2010, a New Jersey family court judge refused to grant a restraining order to a woman who was sexually abused by her Moroccan husband and forced repeatedly to have sex with him, ruling that the Muslim husband did not have “criminal desire to or intent to sexually assault,” because under Shariah, he had a right to rape his wife. Though the ruling was overturned by New Jersey’s Appellate Court, which ruled that the husband’s religious beliefs were irrelevant and that the judge in taking them into consideration “was mistaken,” it still shows Shariah effects.

    8) In March, a Florida judge ruled that a dispute between Muslim parties could proceed under Shariah. This was not a simple matter of arbitration, but an induction of foreign law. “This case,” the judge wrote, “will proceed under Ecclesiastical Islamic Law.”

    7) Legislators in 15 states have put forth bills to ban international law and Shariah from being applied in their states. Are we going to label them all as paranoid? Or are they protecting our Constitution and rule of law as they should?

    6) Based upon the investigative work of P. David Gaubatz and Paul Sperry in their expose, “Muslim Mafia,” the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, the nation’s largest Islamic advocacy group, “teamed up with a terror-tied Islamic investment bank to attack publicly traded American firms who refuse to comply with Shariah law by using shareholder resolutions, divestitures, and boycotts against them,” a very successful strategy used already in Britain. In 2008, when the FBI severed its formal ties to CAIR because of its questionable ties to extremism, CAIR rallied other Shariah-supporting Muslim Brotherhood front groups to send the FBI a threatening letter, in which was a ban against providing the FBI with information about “acts of violence” and “threats” in the Muslim community. CAIR is riddled with pro-Shariah components and proponents seeking to permeate every aspect of our culture. For example, multiple U.S. congressmen are calling for the Department of Justice to investigate whether CAIR has been successful in a strategic mission to infiltrate congressional offices and plant Muslim interns there.

    Next week, I will conclude with my top five U.S. Shariah infiltrations, including more in Washington itself.

    Until then, let me ask those who refuse to acknowledge any evidence that Shariah is seeping into the U.S. landscape to ponder one more question: Do you find it inconsistent and even hypocritical that many warn the world about the dangers of the Christian right yet defend the Islamic right?

    Hedge-fund managers made a big bet on Barack Obama and other Democrats in 2008. Now, with the 2012 contest gearing up, some prominent fund managers have turned their backs on the party and are actively supporting Republicans.

    Daniel Loeb, founder of Third Point LLC, was one of the biggest Obama fund-raisers in 2008, rounding up $200,000 for him, according to campaign-finance records. In the decade prior, Mr. Loeb and his wife donated $250,000 to Democrats and less than $10,000 to Republicans.

    But since Mr. Obama’s inauguration, Mr. Loeb has given $468,000 to Republican candidates and the GOP, and just $8,000 to Democrats. Hedge-fund kings have feelings, too, and the president appears to have hurt them.

    “I am sure, if we are really nice and stay quiet, everything will be alright and the president will become more centrist and that all his tough talk is just words,” Mr. Loeb wrote in an email about four months ago expressing frustration with the president’s posture toward Wall Street. “I mean, he really loves us and when he beats us, he doesn’t mean it.” The email, sent to eight friends, was widely circulated on Wall Street.

    Many of us have been struggling to make sense of Barack Obama’s erratic foreign policy. He says he doesn’t want to fight “dumb wars” and then goes and acts stupid in Libya. He constantly seems to be working to undermine the United States’ role in the world and bows to every foreign crowned head except Queen Elizabeth II, who he gives an iPod.     Well, wonder no long. Over at the New Yorker, Ryan Lizza sums up the erratic foreign policy of Barack Obama and it is worse that you or either imagined.

    In a very long piece, we are shown an adult Hillary Clinton having to prod Barack Obama who flips between realism and idealism hoping that if he flips back and forth he can blur the two.

    Ultimately, you can figure out all you need to know from a Presidential advisor who describes Barack Obama’s foreign policy as “leading from behind.” Seriously.

    Leading from behind is premised on two thoughts within Barack Obama’s head:

    (1) We have been replaced on the world stage by China as the pre-eminent super power; and,

    (2) Everyone else hates us.

    To sum it up, Barack Obama’s foreign policy is based on the belief that we have surrendered or had taken from us our leadership role in the world. He’s operating intentionally as a failure.

    Obama may be moving toward something resembling a doctrine. One of his advisers described the President’s actions in Libya as “leading from behind.” That’s not a slogan designed for signs at the 2012 Democratic Convention, but it does accurately describe the balance that Obama now seems to be finding. It’s a different definition of leadership than America is known for, and it comes from two unspoken beliefs: that the relative power of the U.S. is declining, as rivals like China rise, and that the U.S. is reviled in many parts of the world. Pursuing our interests and spreading our ideals thus requires stealth and modesty as well as military strength. “It’s so at odds with the John Wayne expectation for what America is in the world,” the adviser said. “But it’s necessary for shepherding us through this phase.”

    pm 317: political power is an addiction, no different than dope. And they are hooked on it. I think there are three major factors at work here, and there may well be others as well:

    first, they know Obama is the golden calf of big media, and they will be attacked unmercifully if they go after him directly. They are church mice scared by shadows. They haven’t the courage of Trump.

    second, they believe in a duopoly of power centered in Washington. And if you heard some of them talk on a hot mic you might even find that they agree with the fundamental position of the Obamacratic Party, namely that intelligent life does not exist beyond the beltway.

    Third, Republicans accept the idea that big media is a legitimate arbiter of the political system. Meanwhile big media selects their weakest member–once it was McCain and now it is Lindsay Graham, and casting him as the voice of reason in the party.

    Conservatives are prone to lament a liberal bias in the media. There is another bias conservatives should play more careful attention to because it affects even the more relatively unbiased analysts and reporters that exist on television, radio, and in print. It is the “good government” bias.

    The good government bias’s hallmark is the exasperated sigh of the Washington press corps longing for the “adults” to have an “adult conversation” and handle gridlocked issues in Washington as “adults in the room.” In other words, principles be damned, we need government to work. This is perhaps the most common press bias because it chooses to ignore or downplay real principled concerns in favor of practical, pragmatic, or “adult” solutions.

    Republicans in Washington are scrambling trying to find a plan to stave off a government shutdown and reduct the debt to GDP ratio while looking like “adults” to placate a critical press. It won’t happen. The GOP is so fearful of a government shutdown and the media’s spin that the Democrats will be able to cajole them into doing less than they should.

    One of the ideas making the rounds is Senator Bob Corker’s CrAP Act. The CrAP Act would restrain government growth at 23% of GDP, which is higher than historic norms even into the Bush Administration. Corker, through accounting sleight of hand, says it is really 20% of GDP, but that, like his Act, is crap.

    It is, however, all done in the name of good government and bipartisanship in an effort to slow the growth of government without a government shutdown. Republicans need to understand that they will never ever win a PR battle on a government shutdown with the media, but they shouldn’t fear that. Winning a PR battle with the media is no longer necessary to win the hearts and minds of the American public.

    But to understand why the GOP won’t win a PR battle is to understand how the Washington press works and is to understand precisely why the GOP so often comes off as the stupid party selling its soul for larger government.

    One of the old sayings in Washington is that there are two parties — the stupid party and the evil party. Occasionally the stupid party and evil party will get together and do something that is both stupid and evil and it will be hailed as a bipartisan compromise. The media is complicit in this because just about every bipartisan compromise gets referred to as the adults coming together in a room.

    The most recent conversation about the 2011 continuing resolution is a case in point. Analysts and reporters talked about the “far right” and the “far left” and how John Boehner and Barack Obama would have to overcome those extremes to find a bipartisan solution. The simpleness of the conversation ignored the very real concerns by both liberals and conservatives related to spending priorities and the size of government.

    More troubling for conservatives, good government rarely, if ever, can also be limited government. Despite the federal constitution being a constitution of limit power for Washington, the nation has evolved to consider Washington the center of power. It is reflected in a class of political analyst and reporter in Washington who believes themselves to be covering the corridors of power. The conversation rarely occurs among the press corps that perhaps Washington should not be doing something or its power to act is limited. The very notion is silly in the twenty-first century despite what the Constitution may or may not say.

    Consequently, instead of treating the concerns of those who want more limited government seriously, they are assigned the label of “far right” and definitionally excluded when mentioning “adults” having conversations to fix Washington. Should Washington’s power diminish, reporters’ access to power would diminish. Smaller government is a deal breaker for the Washington press corps.

    This should not, however, matter to Republicans. A recent CBS News survey found that 70% of Americans oppose raising the debt ceiling even if it means higher interest rates. The vast majority of Republicans and Independent voters oppose raising the debt ceiling. Surprisingly, just under half of Democrats oppose raising the debt ceiling too. Meanwhile, any casual review of reporting on the debt ceiling will find that all the adults think the debt ceiling needs to be raised.

    In essence, the media and the Democrats are both stuck in 1995 when the GOP lost the PR battle to a media highlighting boy scouts shut out of the National Air and Space Museum. But the public has moved on to recognize the problem. Likewise, the public’s trust of the media continues to fall to new lows.

    The GOP should not be afraid of the media’s spin and bias on this because the public has largely tuned out the routine pooh-poohing and pining for adults by the media. Instead of worrying about PR, the GOP should worry about reducing the size and scope of the federal government, which more and more polls show Americans want.

    You are right. He is neither a realist or an idealist. To be a realist is to properly analyze the problem and formulate a constructive set of solutions. Clearly, that is not his modus operandi. In fact, it has never happened. And to be an idealist is to see beyond one’s own self interest to a set of ideals and to pursue them through actions as opposed to sermons. What exactly are his ideals? History has shown that he has none–and like the chameleon he most certainly is changes hue and color to match his immediate surroundings. And that is why when he is with Chavez he can dis the United States and when he is with the American Legion he can wax eloquent about our nation. To believe in everything is to believe in nothing–nothing but his own narrow self interest. And that is why it is so crowded under the bus.

    America is in terminal decline. There may be a lot of ruin in a nation, as Keynes said, but that amount is not infinite. The next chance you get to turn this around you will be starting from a much worse position. A lot more pain will be unavoidable.

    Obama is not turning things around, what he is doing is negotiating with Republicans how fast the decline will be, and how much and how fast it is necessary to fuck ordinary Americans in order to keep the rich rich. If Obama wins another term, he will continue to negotiate the decline, then, odds are very high, a Republican will get in, and slam his foot on the accelerator of collapse.

    This is why Obama must lose in 2012. I would prefer that he lose to a Democrat in a primary, then that Democrat wins, but he must lose regardless. If he loses to a Republican, then 2016 you get a chance to put someone in charge who might do the right things (or even just some of them.)

    No, those odds aren’t good. They suck. Every part of them sucks. And even if you get a Dem in 2016, you’ll probably choose the right most candidate, just like you did last time, and he’ll go back to negotiating with Republicans over what parts of the corpse of America’s middle class they should dine on next. “No, no, eat one kidney first, they only need one to survive, so that’s not too cruel.”

    But it is still your best chance. Otherwise you’re looking at full, Russian-style collapse. What comes out the other end, I don’t know, but you really won’t enjoy getting there.

    And yes, if a Republican gets in in 2012, that’ll be awful. Just awful

    In politics, what you’re really doing is often much less important than what it looks like you’re really doing.

    And with only 560 days left until the voters’ next verdict, President Obama is rapidly painting himself into a public-relations corner with an ongoing series of possibly accidental gaffes that are accumulating in the public mind.

    And the biting humor repertoire of late-night comics: “Donald Trump says he’s President Obama’s worst nightmare,” Jay Leno said last night. “No. Having to make a decision is President Obama’s worst nightmare.”

    The former state senator may, in fact, be slaving away on 18-hour policy days. But much of that is closed out of sight. So the public is left to focus on Obama’s frequent vacations, golf outings, celebrity gatherings and proclivity to give a speech at the first whiff of trouble.

    With no real opposition, Chicago’s Democrat pols care little about how insensitive things look.

    Any one of these apparent missteps is inconsequential. However, accumulated over his 118 weeks in office, they create the impression of carelessness at best or, worse, arrogance.

    What the White House issues are photos of a tieless, laughing Obama, feet up on the historic Oval Office desk, chatting on the phone system that he complains is so decrepit.

    What the public sees, while it frets over stubborn unemployment and soaring gas prices, is a diffident Democrat who takes a 17-vehicle motorcade of SUVs and limos to be seen looking at clean-energy cars.

    A pontificating president who suggests that one worried commuter buy a new car instead of complaining.

    A guy who spent 745 million donated dollars to get into the White House complaining to visiting editors about losing his anonymity and being locked in the presidential bubble that provides service, luxury, power and security unimaginable to most.

    To be sure, other presidents have played golf. Maybe not during three simultaneous wars with the awful accompanying human tolls.

    Not likely working the putter the day after a colossal combined earthquake/tsunami natural disaster hit as close an ally as Japan. Or canceling a trip to the funeral of Poland’s president and hitting the links.

    It’s one thing to urge Americans to vacation on the troubled Gulf coast last summer, while your wife flies off to Spain with a planeload of pals.

    It’s another to spend much of Earth Day in a 747 jumbo jet flying 2,300 miles cross-country back from a slew of multimillion-dollar West Coast fundraisers, as Obama did last week.

    It’s one thing to launch a war against Libya while packing up your wife, daughters, mother-in-law and her friend to tour South America.

    It’s another to wait nine whole days to bother explaining the unexpected combat to a puzzled nation. Or nearly two months to arrange an Oval Office address on the country’s worst environmental disaster ever.
    It’s one thing to laugh off the uninformed belief of millions of countrymen that Obama is a Muslim.

    It’s another to issue meticulous presidential messages and proclamations on what strike many Americans as the most obscure holidays of various religions around the world, then skip official notice of Easter in the predominantly Christian country they elected you to lead.

    It’s one thing to attend church with your family on that Easter holiday and nod in agreement during the sermon. It’s another to leave that service a half-hour early, purportedly to avoid disrupting the service by waiting until the end.

    Every president stages grand White House events like state dinners and the traditional Easter Egg Roll. Some 30,000 enjoyed themselves on the South Lawn Monday, even if few ever know precisely why they’re rolling chicken eggs through the grass with spoons.

    When George W. Bush staged his annual Tee-Ball tournament on that same grass, his staff ensured ample opportunity for the first father to be photographed, not demonstrating his own prowess at the plate, but teeing up the plastic ball for a little person to take a wild but earnest swing that drew applause all around.

    On Monday President Obama held his monthly secret strategy meeting on the Afghanistan/Pakistan fighting. But what did we get about his day?

    A photo of Obama appearing to laugh at one egg-rolling youngster. Photos of what could be a showoff Obama dribbling a basketball by himself while the crowd watches. And a shot of him shooting by himself.

    Today, Obama will do four TV interviews on debt reduction to targeted markets in Ohio, Georgia, Virginia and Michigan. He’ll then have meetings with Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates. All are closed.

    But here’s a selection of other Obama activities scheduled this week: Wednesday he and wife Michelle fly to Chicago on Air Force One. They will be there for three hours. The sole purpose: to tape an Oprah show. Obama will then fly to New York City. The sole purpose: a political fundraiser.

    Air Force One costs the government $181,000 an hour to operate.

    Confident politicians enduring the ubiquitous criticism of American politics often remind themselves that much of what they do goes unseen and therefore unappreciated by the often inattentive people who employ them.

    But in the end at the next election these elected officials assume that, even without deigning to carefully choreograph events, their work will speak for itself to voters passing judgment.

    That may be true.

    As I recall from a different thread here a few days ago, if Obama’s bio is true and his father was not a US citizen, he is therefore not a “natural born citizen”. So if he WAS born in Hawaii, but it documents his father being born abroad, that could be the damning evidence he wants to conceal.

    With McCain, there was no question that both his parents were US citizens, but the gray area was that he was born in Panama, which was a US territory at the time of his birth (later freed up by Carter, as I recall). Congress in 2008 explicitly cleared up that gray area by passing a law regarding the Panama situation.

    So Obama still has at least two gray areas: where he was born, proving it, and if both his parents were US citizens.

    The last issue is where MSM Obama shills start deliberately muddying up definitions, because their arguments fall apart when things are clearly defined. Obfuscation and diversion are required, just like a magician performing a trick.

    The Obamas Silent in the Face of Race Atrocity

    For the average human being, it was not possible to watch the video of two black women beating the life out of a defenseless white woman at a McDonald’s in Baltimore and not feel complete and total revulsion. Adding to the horror was the knowledge that the black employees — one who only half-heartedly attempted to intervene, one who was filming the barbarism, and perhaps others not seen on the video — did absolutely nothing to save the white woman from her assailants.

    While police investigations are focusing on whether the attack was a racially motivated hate crime, the LGBT group is also suggesting that the assault was a hate crime due to the victim being a transgender woman, notwithstanding what appears to be a lack of evidence that the woman’s sexual status was known by her assailants. In either case, it is clear from the video that the monsters beating their helpless prey were filled with animal blood lust that was completely inhuman.

    One of the first thoughts that I had when trying to process this heinous assault that left the woman bleeding from her mouth and seizing violently on the ground was how it reminded me of the days of wilding, the Central Park jogger case in particular, and of all the other senseless hate crimes that occur in our cities.

    But more importantly, I then thought about the fact that we have a black president who so far has remained silent about the crime. Barack Obama was vociferously outspoken when his black buddy Louis Gates was properly and justifiably arrested by white officers in Boston two years ago. However, when a white woman is brutally beaten to a pulp by two black women less than an hour from the White House, our POTUS has nothing to say on the subject.

    And the reason that this is so offensive is two-fold: (i) Barack Hussein Obama was supposed to be our post-racial president bridging the racial divide and healing the country’s wounds; and (ii) Michelle Obama has spent the better part of the past two and a half years as first lady dictating to America’s youth what they should and should not be eating rather than helping them learn how they should and should not be acting.

    With regard to our FLOTUS, where does one begin? While she gallivants across the globe on the taxpayer dime eating up delicious delicacies, she has chosen attacking the nation’s childhood obesity problem as her raison d’être. And while childhood obesity may be a serious problem, I maintain that Michelle Obama is not the appropriate spokesperson for a multitude of reasons including her hypocrisy on the issue, her lavish lifestyle (that affords her the opportunity to eat as she desires and work it off the next day with her personal trainer), her lack of medical expertise, and her pathetic attempt to address the social and psychological issues underlying the problem.

    Instead of telling people what they should order if they enter a McDonald’s, the first lady should be teaching people how to act when they enter a McDonald’s or any other public place. This is not a racist suggestion — the suggestion is no different from Barack Obama telling young children that they can all fulfill their dreams since, as a minority, he was able to ascend to the highest office in the land.

    Perhaps Michelle Obama has not watched the video clip of two black women beating the white woman to a pulp. If she has not, she should. And perhaps it will move her to stop talking about food and start talking about behavior, because with her fancy vacations, personal chef, elaborate parties, and other sundry benefits of the job comes responsibility.

    And while I could go on for pages on Barack Obama’s failures in office, what is relevant here is just how empty his rhetoric continues to be. For not only has he been an absentee president on multiple levels, but he has been the missing link in what was a real opportunity to bridge the racial divide that has been ailing our country.

    In his famous “race speech” Obama stated:

    [R]ace is an issue that I believe this nation cannot afford to ignore right now. … And if we walk away now, if we simply retreat into our respective corners, we will never be able to come together and solve challenges like health care, or education, or the need to find good jobs for every American.

    What we have already achieved gives us hope – the audacity to hope – for what we can and must achieve tomorrow.

    Well it is tomorrow and our absentee president is, well, absent. Healing the country’s wounds is tough business. One cannot have the audacity to hope but then remain silent in the face of atrocities like that which occurred at a McDonald’s restaurant this week.

    Obama has not hesitated to interject himself into a multitude of domestic issues including the Louis Gates arrest (in which he opined, “what I think we know separate and apart from this incident is that there’s a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately”), the Ground Zero Mosque controversy (in which he discussed “[o]ur capacity to show not merely tolerance, but respect to those who are different from us”), and the Wisconsin budget protests (in which he stated that Governor Walker’s legislation was “an assault on unions”).

    In Obama’s world, African-Americans, Muslims, and unions are victims who deserve presidential support. There will be no prosecuting New Black Panthers who terrorize white voters, there will be a worldwide reach out to Islamic terrorists, and union thugs will be given carte blanche to bully members and non-members alike. But white transgender women are on their own.

    Obama went on in his infamous speech:

    A lack of economic opportunity among black men, and the shame and frustration that came from not being able to provide for one’s family, contributed to the erosion of black families — a problem that welfare policies for many years may have worsened. And the lack of basic services in so many urban black neighborhoods…all helped create a cycle of violence, blight and neglect that continue to haunt us.

    Well yes they do continue to haunt us but blaming a lack of “economic opportunity” on the “cycle of violence” is disingenuous, lazy, and disgusting. It is disgusting because Obama seemingly justifies violence in the same manner that Palestinian apologists use to justify the murder of innocent Israeli civilians. Mr. President, violence is not a natural and acceptable consequence of economic strife in a civilized society.

    In yet another Obama speech he stated the following:

    But at a time when our discourse has become so sharply polarized — at a time when we are far too eager to lay the blame for all that ails the world at the feet of those who happen to think differently than we do — it’s important for us to pause for a moment and make sure that we’re talking with each other in a way that heals, not in a way that wounds.

    Mr. President, it is time to stop talking. Perhaps instead of going to George Washington University to give a campaign speech justifying your abysmal economic policies, you should visit inner city schools and teach kids respect for human life and common decency. Take on the responsibilities of office which include immediately denouncing this act of violence and begin to address the cause full steam ahead. Move past your own resentments and anger about the travails of poor black Americans since the beginning of time and take proactive steps to help them learn to value life — not government handouts and entitlements and certainly not violence.

    I am not suggesting that what happened at the McDonald’s in Baltimore is the Obamas’ fault. But I am strongly advocating that they use their remaining time in office (God willing, only 19 more months) to the betterment of society. And what society needs desperately is a toning down of the anger, racism, and class warfare that the Obamas are fomenting.

    Our country needs individuals in the White House who lead by example, who teach right from wrong, and who understand that no matter how much you share the wealth, there will always be people who remain devoid of morals and values until they are taught otherwise. The Ones who promised the country hope and change have done nothing to implement the promises they made to the black community or the country as a whole. It is time they owned up to their responsibilities to the people.

    Friends of Lt. Col. Terry Lakin are hoping a few hundred people will show up to greet the jailed military doctor when he’s released from prison and returns to Baltimore, Md., on May 14.

    Dr. Terry Lakin, an Army doctor who refused to deploy again to Afghanistan when his chain of command refused to verify that Obama legitimately is president, has been serving a six-month term at Ft. Leavenworth in Kansas.

    A website has been established to coordinate the welcome event, which convenes at 10:15 a.m. at the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. Organizers are asking supporters to preregister their planned attendance – to coordinate with airport security – and to come with small U.S. flags and homemade posters thanking Dr. Lakin for his stand.

    “We need a big hurray and lots of applause,” the website states. “He may say a few words. Then we’ll get him to his luggage, to his car and home.”

    While in prison, Dr. Lakin remains under the Uniform Code of Military Justice but has been allowed to post online a series of observations he’s made while serving his time. Those private communications to the Terry Lakin Action Fund suggest that his focus remains on the foundations of the nation and the rights and responsibilities of its citizens.

    He’s commented on the physical workouts he’s enjoyed, his work, his cell and other issues, according to the action fund, which is the organization that has been raising money to pay the monthly bills for Lakin’s family while he serves his term.

    Lakin’s support team said it has been able to supply donated funds for most of the family’s needs during Lakin’s absence.

    Also, his reading material has been highlighted, including Mark Levin’s “Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto.”

    “It gives great examples of the statists’ ability to redefine law into suiting their ideology when it benefits their goals. Yet they do not see it as infringing upon their liberty or property because they are the intellectuals that know what is best. Levin’s quote of French philosopher Frédéric Bastiat (1850) is great!” Lakin wrote.

    “‘When [the law] has exceeded its proper functions, it has not done so merely in some inconsequential and debatable matters. The law has gone further than this; it has acted in direct opposition to its own purpose. The law has been used to destroy its own objective: it has been applied to annihilating the justice that it was supposed to maintain; to limiting and destroying rights which its real purpose was to respect. The law was placed the collective force at the disposal of the unscrupulous who wish, without risk, to exploit the person, liberty, and property of others. It has converted plunder into a right, in order to protect plunder, and it punish[es] lawful defense.’ Pretty good quote.

    “On page 53 he says, ‘The conservative may ask the following questions: if words and other meanings can be manipulated or ignored to advance the statist’s political and policy preferences, what then binds allegiances to the statists’ words? Why should today’s law bind future generations if yesterday’s law does not bind this generation? Why should judicial precedent bind the nation if the Constitution itself does not? Why should any judicial determination based on judges notion of what is ‘right’ or ‘just’ bind the individual of the individual believes the notion is wrong and unjust? Does not lawlessness beget lawlessness?’ Plain, great quotes.”

    He also listed as suggested reading materials the U.S. Constitution, the Federalist Papers, the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights.

    His military court request for clemency in his case remains pending, as do any appeals that would be pursued. He’s not ordinarily able to speak to the media. That prohibition will remain in question for some time even after his expected release, supporters explain, depending on the status of his clemency request and any appeals.

    Retired Cmdr. Charles Kerchner, who took his own challenge to Obama’s tenure in the Oval Office all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, has said Lakin’s conviction and jailing signaled the end of the “rule of law” in the United States.

    Lakin was prevented by the military judge from seeking evidence that could support him, was told he could not talk about his dilemma, could not bring in the witnesses he wanted and could not introduce evidence that he wanted.

    The military panel then convicted him.

    Kerchner’s legal case, handled by attorney Mario Apuzzo, alleged that Congress failed its constitutional duty to examine the legitimacy of a successful candidate during the Electoral College vetting process on Capitol Hill. The Supreme Court ultimately decided not to hear arguments, leaving standing a lower court’s dismissal.

    Kerchner’s comments came in an interview with Sharon Rondeau of The Post & Email.

    According to a report in the Greeley Gazette, whose reporter Jack Minor has been following the case because the city is Lakin’s home, confirmed Maj. Matthew Kemkes, Lakin’s military attorney, is working on submitting a clemency request to superior officers.

    Lakin earned the support of several prominent, high-ranking, retired officers during his battle, including Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely and Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney.

    Kerchner had noted Lakin, before publicly challenging Obama’s eligibility to serve as president under the Constitution’s “natural born citizen” requirement – an issue that remains undocumented – had gone through every available channel seeking resolution.

    “Terry had been questioning Obama’s eligibility for over two years, and not only did he go to his elected representatives; he used a formal path available to soldiers, filling out a form or writing a letter, to request a congressional inquiry,” Kerchner told The Post & Email at the time.

    “If a soldier is having some issue with the military chain of command or for any reason feels that he has been unjustly treated, there is the Article 138 where you can directly ask your senior chain of command about it. He also filed another form or letter to request a congressional inquiry; he requested more than once that an investigation be done about Obama’s eligibility because as an officer, he had sworn an oath to the U.S. Constitution. He had great doubts that Obama was eligible, and he wanted them to investigate, and they didn’t even answer him,” Kerchner explained.

    “The Congress did nothing. Terry, as a soldier, had a further right to one, and he didn’t even get an answer. For example, if you allege that your commanding officer is mistreating you, Congress investigates those allegations. Terry asked for a congressional inquiry because no one in his chain of command was answering his questions, and they didn’t answer him. He felt he was being unjustly treated and ignored by his chain of command in their not addressing or answering his questions about the eligibility of Obama to be the commander-in-chief and president,” he said in the lengthy interview with Rondeau.

    WND has reported on dozens of legal challenges to Obama’s status as a “natural born citizen.” The Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, states, “No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President.”

    Some of the challenges question whether he was actually born in Hawaii, as he insists. If he was born out of the country, Obama’s American mother, the suits contend, was too young at the time of his birth to confer American citizenship to her son under the law at the time.

    Other challenges have focused on Obama’s citizenship through his father, a Kenyan subject to the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom at the time of his birth, thus making him a dual citizen. The cases contend the framers of the Constitution excluded dual citizens from qualifying as natural born.

    Several of the cases have involved emergency appeals to the U.S. Supreme Court in which justices have declined even to hear arguments. Among the other cases turned down without a hearing at the high court have been petitions by John Hemenway, Philip Berg, Cort Wrotnowski, Leo Donofrio and Orly Taitz.

    Complicating the situation is Obama’s decision to spend sums estimated in the (hundreds of thousands) MILLIONS of dollars to avoid releasing a state birth certificate that would put to rest some of the questions.

    Obama wrote in his own book that he was born a dual citizen of the U.S. and Great Britain due to the fact his father was a subject of the British crown when Obama was born.

    Supporters are working through the Terry Lakin Action Fund.com, and cards and letters, but no packages, can be sent to Lakin at the following address, and should not mention rank: Terrence Lakin #89996, 830 Sabalu Road, Fort Leavenworth, Kan. 66027.

    No hospital has admitted Obama was born in Hawaii, and while state officials say they have confirmed his birth documentation, they refuse to reveal what it states. Because of the state’s loose laws that required only a declaration by family members and proof of residency, Obama’s family could have registered the birth as Hawaiian even if he was born somewhere else.

    But the issue appears not to be going away. Consider:

    * Possible GOP presidential contender Donald Trump publicly has stated his doubts about Obama’s eligibility. “I want him to show the birth certificate,” he said, and in another interview, warned that if Obama is not legitimate, it would make his presidency “illegal.”

    * Television commercials are scheduled to air that promote Jerome Corsi’s new book on the eligibility issue.

    * The question of Obama’s eligibility was raised in the U.S. House chambers by a protester who shouted “except Obama” when the representatives who were reading the Constitution reached the portion dealing with the qualifications for a president.

    * More than a year ago, polls revealed that barely half of the people in the United States even knew there was an issue over Obama’s eligibility, but recent polls have indicated up to 58 percent of Americans now have doubts over the issue. One of the newest polls shows not even one person in 10 believes Obama has documented his eligibility, while another 32 percent don’t believe the questions are legitimate.

    * Fining attorneys, even jailing defendants, as happened to Lakin, hasn’t caused the issue to disappear.

    * A billboard campaign that simply asks “Where’s the Birth Certificate” has appeared in many dozens of locations, and one billboard company that a year ago concluded it was more or less a settled issue now has asked to be allowed to participate in the campaign.

    * Various officials have “verified” Obama’s eligibility but have declined to document their statements.

    * Extensive examinations of the available record suggest Obama likely is ineligible.

    * Numerous lawsuits are still making their way toward Supreme Court review:

    * In Congress, a proposal was made that would have required all candidates for the office of president to document their eligibility under the Constitution’s requirement that they be a natural-born citizen.

    * Similar plans are moving even more quickly at the state legislature level.

    * And there even are predictions that Congress will take up the dispute.

    1) Since Democrats are determined to hang Ryan’s bold “Path to Prosperity” budget plan around the neck of every Republican running for office in 2012, why not have its author and best salesman advocate for it directly vs. President Obama?

    2) Ryan — to borrow a favorite Simon Cowell phrase — is “current.” He’s smack in the middle of budgetary and ideological clash between Democrats and Republicans and would immediately energize conservative and Tea Party activists.

    3) Ryan is a strong national defense conservative, as well as pro-life.

    4) Ryan is from a battleground state, Wisconsin, and a battleground region, the upper Great Lakes.

    The counter-argument here, of course, is that Ryan a) has repeatedly ruled out a 2012 run for family reasons (small kids) and b) may instead run for U.S. Senate in 2012. He also just turned 41 and may not want to go all in so quickly, especially against an incumbent president expected to try and raise $1 billion for re-election. But if Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty, Newt Gingrich — maybe Mitch Daniels, too — fail to catch fire, expect the pressure on Ryan to run to rise.

    That is the bottom line. The costs of “modern” health care no longer can be managed using an “insurance” model. How high a deductible can the majority of Americans afford without going into insolvency? Considering the costs of an ER visit, CT scan, minor surgical procedure, a deductible of $5-10,000 might lower premiums depending on where the person lives but how many Americans can write a check or use a credit card to pay for their MRI or CT scan that was denied by their insurance company. (That has happened to me several times.)

    $15,000 will buy a lot of insurance if you don’t have preexisting or are elderly or have other risk factors. I recently talked to the director of a university cancer institute. He said that the cost of a major cancer diagnosis requiring, surgery, chemo, radiation therapy, rehab., etc. is running between $500,000 to $1,000,000.

    I have the type of health “insurance” policy that you are talking about with high deductible and reduced premiums. The deductible is $100,000 and the premium is $4,000. That won’t work for most people.

    Why seniors may have trouble getting insurance under Paul Ryan’s plan

    The details of the health care industry are quite complicated, but in the end it all comes down to charging customers more in premiums than the company pays out in claims. Under the GOP plan, insurance companies will have to charge people 65 and older more in premiums than they pay for in claims if they want to remain profitable. Medicare in its current form does not have to operate at a profit, and in fact can operate at a loss as long as the Congress is willing to pay for the excess costs.

    There are many reasons to believe that insurance companies will charge seniors much higher prices in order to insure the steep profits in the future.

    First, the risks for nearly every major disease go up greatly with age.

    For example, one in three women suffer from heart disease after age 65, whereas only one in nine women suffer from heart disease from age 45-64.

    The risk for Alzheimer’s disease doubles every five years after age 65.

    Much of the health care costs for every individual come in their last year of life, and the life expectancy for the average American is about 75 years of age. As all of us get older we, on average, require more hospital visits, more prescription drugs, more hospital stays, and more surgeries. Insurance companies are not dumb. They know these facts.

    Indeed, Insurance companies pay actuaries a great deal of money to calculate exactly how much each of us will cost in claims in the future. In order to ensure their profit companies will likely charge seniors much higher premiums for health insurance coverage in order to cover the risk, just as car insurance companies charge more to cover a 16 year-old driver.

    Secondly, the current system of Medicare acts as a cost control mechanism which will be completely removed under the Ryan plan.

    Medicare pays out claims at a lower rates than is charged in the free market for the same or similar services. Medicare can do this while still getting coverage for seniors because of the massive size of the program. Doctors and hospitals could not accept Medicare’s lower payouts, but in doing so they would lose out on a huge potential customer base.

    Under the GOP plan, the “buying power” of seniors would be split up over many health insurance plans which would not have the same bargaining power to control costs. Doctors and hospitals could demand more to treat seniors, and the insurance companies would likely have to relent. These costs would then be transferred on to seniors through insurance premiums.

    Anyone who does not believe this could happen should just take a look at how much premiums have increased in the rest of the private insurance market over the past decade.

    A huge advantage of Medicare is that it prevents “balance” billing. Prior to getting on Medicare, I would get statements stating that the “charges” are denied or that the “charges” don’t meet the insurance company’s “profile”. (Ask if you can see the profile or how the profile was determined or speak to the person who denied the payment??? forget it)) So the insurance company pays nothing or a fraction of the bill. The provider then bills for the remaining balance, which can be hundreds, thousands or tens of thousands of dollars. Prior to getting on Medicare, I had to write checks in all of the above dollar categories and I have been healthy my entire life and have no major health issues at the present time.

    I can also say that having been on the provider end, the insurance companies are just as bad. That said, the insurance companies are just doing their job; making money for the share holders.

    SHV is right, my husband and I had private insurance and because he had high blood pressure and I hypothyroidism ( which costs 7 dollars a month for the med and once a year blood test ) we were charge $3,000.00 a month. Which is why I got a permanent job and left the prn job in nursing. Now I worked over 40 hours a week prn, but I was able to set my own schedule which allowed me to follow my daughters D1 basketball career. I got absolutely no benefits other than the schedule, no raises outside of COL that everyone got. If you are over 40 they just want you to die…period.

    I am a twitter newbie but I am following a couple of people/blogs/orgs that relay articles and I find that helpful as I’d have never found them on my own. I dd have to un-follow several sites that were relentless with the posts. i don’t care where you went or what you ate but I will devour political posts.
    If you follow enough of the right people you can get a lot of info. I liken it to a dive bar. You can go in and have hoot with the hipsters drinking on the cheap or you can lend your ear to the elderly person/loner/misfit and learn a bunch.     One problem with insurance costs today is that people are treating insurance as a healthcare buffet. That is NOT what insurance was designed to do. It is designed to protect against catastrophic losses – those losses which someone can’t afford without sending them into poverty. With a high enough deductible, insurance would be affordable.

I take care of an elderly parent and if we raised the deductibles on my mother;s insurance or forced her to pay even more for the numerous medication she MUST take — some of which do not yet exist in generic form — she would be on the street.     While I realize this Ryan plan is not meant to affect anyone over 55, the result for a later retire might well be the same scenario she faced: a femaly sole breadwinner taking care of a family of four who worked nonstop for fifty years, dealt with the medical bills of herself and others and had little savings and nothing else to show for it.     An argument between Pat Buchanan and Chris Matthews, which starts about Birtherism but gets around to my topic of the day — Obama’s grades, SATs, LSATs.

    As Buchanan says: Trump is supporting the people’s right to know, and the national media Is supporting Obama’s right to conceal.

    If Obama’s such a genius, how come Occidental, Harvard, and Columbia have all removed his record from the common files and put them into the safe?

    See, Bush’s transcript from Yale got “leaked.” Which I assume means that they never bothered to remove the records from the common files, meaning dozens (hundreds?) of people could snoop in there (and copy them) any time they wanted.

    I worked in that Work/Study thing at college. I was in the records room a lot. Did I snoop? Well I don’t want to say if I did or I didn’t. But I definitely could have, as the files drawers were unlocked and I was in there alone, pulling whatever files was asked of me, unsupervised.

    Okay, I guess I can admit I snooped on myself: that seems harmless to confess. I checked my admissions file. My record was boring and exactly what I thought it was without any interesting notes on it. Purely a computer printout of SATs and high school grades. And current grades and courses. Boring, bureaucratic stuff.

    Isn’t it odd that the universities take special precautions as regards Democratic politicians but leave Republican records where any freshman with a Work-Study scholarship and an agenda can copy them?

    Anyway, the colleges aren’t leaking for Obama. They know his grades are not genius-level material.

    I like how Buchanan has a belief (without proof), and Matthews has a belief (without proof), but Chris Matthews is absolutely aghast at the suggestion we get the proof and resolve it one way or another.

    Let’s say two people are in an elevator. A fight breaks out; both men say the other stole from him.

    Who do you believe?

    Well, let’s also say there’s a security videotape in the elevator.

    So, you’ll know soon enough.

    But until we get the tapes — if one person is saying “Just look at the video!” and the other is scoffing, “Video?! Why should we look at video?! It’s insulting to say you want to look at some video. We definitely shouldn’t look at video and if you do you’re a racist” — which of those two men do you think is more confident that the video will prove his story?

I don’t think he intends to be just out there spouting theories or opinions–he and his political advisors are surely more astute than that. But that should change….

    It’s true that Hawaii’s certification, which the Obama camp released in 2008, officially proves for legal purposes that the President was born in the USA. And the original certificate being sought by birther critics is no longer the documentation that Hawaii issues to prove anyone’s birth.

The press does not report much of what is really going on in the world and only a small fraction of what his happening here, and the criterion is not the truth or an informed electorate, but their narrative and an electorate manipulated their way, which serves their business objectives. When they decided that they had to release the birth certificate, they hoped this would insulate them from further inquiries, and he fall-out of the Corsi book. But the truth is, if they were prepared to offer this up as a concession, they held on to it for too long, and when that happens it loses its deterrent effect. They should have either held off or released it earlier. Most people will see this as a victory for Trump because he got what he wanted and a defeat for Obama because he was forced to give up what he had spent millions not to give up in the past.

    Washington (CNSNews.com) – In what the White House calls a push for transparency, a pending executive order would require companies doing business with the federal government to disclose political contributions to independent groups, but would not place the same requirement on public employee unions or federal grant recipients that typically donate to Democrats.

    Entitled the “Disclosure of Political Spending By Government Contractors,” the order would implement parts of the DISCLOSE Act, which failed to get through Congress last year. The legislation sought to restrict campaign speech after the landmark Citizens United vs. Federal Elections Commission U.S. Supreme Court ruling that upheld the right of corporations and unions to donate to campaigns.

    White House Press Secretary Jay Carney confirmed Monday that work is underway on the draft order, and linked the move to President Obama’s stated commitment to transparency.

    “It’s fully acknowledged that there is a process underway; a draft is just that,” Carney told CNSNews.com. “It could change as it makes its way through the process. But what the president is committed to is transparency, and he certainly thinks that the American taxpayer should know where his or her money is going. So I — this is part of the President’s commitment to transparency.”

    Government contractors are already required to disclose contributions to political candidates. This executive order would require the disclosure of any donations to independent groups, where conservative groups outspent liberal ones in the 2010 election.

    Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said the executive order would stifle free speech.

    “Democracy is compromised when individuals and small businesses fear reprisal, or expect favor from the federal government as a result of their political associations,” McConnell said in a statement last week, after reports of the draft emerged.

    “So recent press reports about an unprecedented draft Executive Order raise troubling concerns about an effort to silence or intimidate political adversaries’ speech through the government contracting system,” he said. “If true, the proposed effort would represent an outrageous and anti-democratic abuse of executive branch authority. No administration should use the federal contracting system for campaign purposes.”

    The DISCLOSE Act was pushed by Sen. Charles Schumer (D.-N.Y.), and Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.). Announcing the bill at a Feb. 11, 2010 press conference, Schumer said that its provisions “will make them [corporations] think twice before spending unlimited sums to influence elections. The deterrent effect should not be underestimated.”

    Hans A. von Spakovsky, senior legal fellow at the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, was skeptical of Carney’s assertion that the president was merely committed to transparency.

    “If transparency is the true goal, why isn’t the proposed executive order covering any outside entity that gets federal money? It only applies to government contractors, not grant recipients like Planned Parenthood,” he told CNSNews.com. “Public employee unions are also exempt from this order.”

    Von Spakovsky, who was the first to report the existence of the draft executive order, on Pajamas Media last week, argued that the move would politicize the federal procurement process.

    He is also troubled by the use of an executive order in this instance.

    “This threatens the representational system,” he said. “The president wants to implement through the regulatory process what failed in Congress.”

    The draft executive order would require government contractors to disclose:

    — “All contributions or expenditures to or on behalf of federal candidates, parties or party committees made by the bidding entity, its directors or officers, or any affiliates or subsidiaries within its control.”

    — “Any contributions made to third party entities with the intention or reasonable expectation that parties would use those contributions to make independent expenditures or electioneering communications.”

    Obama has long railed against the Citizens United ruling. During his 2010 State of the Union speech he launched a verbal offensive against the Supreme Court, prompting a visible response from Justice Samuel Alito, who along with his colleagues were seated just feet from the podium.

    Let’s wait and see. If all he produces is the COLB, then it does not resolve the issue, but it is still a huge victory for Trump. The issue will still need to be pressed in that event–and it will be. On the other hand, if it is the long form, we shall see whether or not it is legitimate–it will be tested by the latest forensic techniques, and we shall also see what additional information it reveals, which could be the point of departure for further inquiries. He has deep ties to the financial industry, which felt battered by Obama’s rhetoric blaming the financial crisis on “fat cat” Wall Street bankers. The industry also chafed at the subsequent overhaul of financial regulations.

    Corzine now heads MF Global Inc., a financial services firm, and Obama has begun trying to repair his relations with the business sector.

    From Corzine’s home, Obama heads to Park Avenue for a dinner at The Waldorf-Astoria, followed by a concert-style event at the Town Hall theater primarily for his younger supporters and featuring The Roots, a hip-hop band from Philadelphia.

    Since he became a candidate for re-election on April 4, Obama has embarked on an aggressive inaugural fundraising tour that included three events in Chicago on April 14 and six events in two days last week in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

    Obama raised $750 million for the 2008 campaign and hopes to top that for his re-election.

    Let’s be candid here: President Obama’s approval ratings are on the skids, his over-hyped budget talk was widely panned by all but his most devoted followers, and gas prices are taking a hit on his standing and prospects for reelection. The Post reported earlier this week:

    Obama, like previous presidents in times of high oil prices, is taking a hit. Only 39 percent of those who call gas prices a “serious financial hardship” approve of the way he is doing his job, and 33 percent of them say he’s doing a good job on the economy.

    The Energy Information Administration said Monday that gas prices climbed last week to $3.88 a gallon, up 81 cents since the start of the year. That is the highest pump price since August 2008, before the financial meltdown.

    Evidence of motorists’ hardships is littering the roads. AAA says the number of motorists running out of gas has been surging. John Townsend, a spokesman for the automobile association, said that cash-strapped members “are pushing the envelope” and that emergency gas deliveries to stranded members jumped nationwide, including by 40 percent in the District.

    That sort of hardship could slow Obama’s reelection campaign. The Post-ABC poll shows that 60 percent of independents who say they’ve been hit hard by surging gas prices also say they definitely won’t support Obama in his bid for reelection.

    In a hypothetical matchup with former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, the top GOP performer in the Post-ABC poll, Romney wins by 24 points among the independents who have taken a severe financial hit because of gas prices, and the president is up 7 percentage points among other independents.

    At a fundraiser in Southern California last week, where pump prices are the highest in the country, Obama acknowledged the political peril of high gas prices. He said, “My poll numbers go up and down depending on the latest crisis, and right now gas prices are weighing heavily on people.”

    So as has become his practice, Obama looked for a gimmick or a gambit rather than a serious policy solution. House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) gave him an opening when Boehner said he might consider doing away with some subsidies or tax breaks for oil companies. (“It’s certainly something we ought to be looking at. We’re in a time when the federal government is short on revenues. We need to control spending, but we need to have revenues to keep the government moving. And they ought to be paying their fair share.”) So as The Hill newspaper put it, Obama “pounced.” Yes, let’s raise those taxes, Obama’s political hacks responded.

    But this is silliness squared. Boehner isn’t about to raise more taxes, although he has already helped pass a budget that seeks to broaden and simplify the tax code. Boehner’s spokesman made it clear that the president’s pounce was misdirected: “Boehner believes, as he stated in the interview, that expanding American energy production will help lower gas prices and create more American jobs. We’ll look at any reasonable policy that lowers gas prices. Unfortunately, what the president has suggested so far would simply raise taxes and increase the price at the pump.” (A spokesman today also told me, on the related media contrivance, that the speaker wasn’t backing away from the budget he got passed. The spokesman says that there is “no daylight” between Boehner and Rep. Paul Ryan’s budget plan. He added, “Boehner’s plan — our plan — is Ryan’s plan.”)

    Meanwhile, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell was clear on where Republicans stand:

    “The President’s latest call to raise taxes on U.S. energy is as predictable as it is counterproductive. If someone in the administration can show me that raising taxes on American energy production will lower gas prices and create jobs, then I will gladly discuss it. But since nobody can, and the President’s letter to Congress today doesn’t, this is merely an attempt to deflect from the policies of the past two years. Instead of returning again and again to tax hikes that increase consumers’ costs, the administration and its Democrat allies in Congress should open their eyes to the vast energy resources we have right here at home and to the hundreds of thousands of jobs that opening them up could create. If the President were truly serious about lowering the price of gas at the pump, he would open these areas to development, stop penalizing American job creation with new fees and tax hikes, and call an end to the anti-energy crusade at the Environmental Protection Agency.”

    And that really is the nub of it. Obama’s gamesmanship and a plan to hike taxes on oil companies (which, of course, will pass them on to consumers) are non sequiturs. Ben Smith dryly observed “It’s not immediately clear how raising taxes on the industry would lower the price at the pump.” Forget “immediately.” It’s once again a herky-jerky, nonsubstantive response to a serious issue.

    After all the back-and-forth it didn’t seem that the White House had gained any ground. A senior Senate GOP aide put it this way, “I think in the end, both Boehner and McConnell said the same thing today: no tax hikes on American energy consumption. But the reaction from the White House and [Sen. Chuck] Schumer to last night’s interview [with Boehner] shows how desperate they are to get away from an issue that they put themselves in.” Sort of like giving a speech to criticize Rep. Paul Ryan’s budget, but offering only tax hikes and another commission, huh?

    The White House is kidding itself if it thinks this childishness is going to work with voters. They look at the results (gas prices, unemployment, the debt, foreign policy crises) not the rhetorical food fight. But since Obama’s results are very poor, you can understand why he spends his days trying to score political points.

The pertinent question is does the document–whatever it is called, list the hospital, the names of the medical personnel in attendance, the date, the name of the father–regardless of what the label says? And can it be verified with certainty through the latest most reliable forensic techniques? And why did he wait three years to produce it? I think he is in a box whichever way he tacks.

  257. The paper the Long Form is printed on needs to be authenticated. It is common knowledge that HI long form had a change of paper type and format after 1961. Plus the fact the original water mark from 1961 needs to be present on the authentic form claimed as the Long Form of his birth certificate.

    Exactly, FightTheSmears had a different looking document, with the “CERTIFICATE NO.” blacked out.

    The computer image (and I emphasize, it is just a COMPUTER IMAGE) they trotted out today has under “DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH” the following: “61 10641”, and it looks kinda hokey, maybe to pretend it was typed in 1961. Also the letters are tilted to the right, the 6 is higher than the 1, then the “06” rises before the “41”, and the “4” looks like it was scratched out or overlayed.

    It has a tampered look, but I do not profess to be a forensic document expert. It is just my layman’s opinion.

    Let a panel of real forensic document experts look at this physical document, and have them examine it.

    That number is a stamp. In those days a stamp had individual numbers that could be rolled to bring up the desired raised letters to ink for the stamp. That’s why they are not even on the line. Each was rolled to a slightly different possition on the stamper. I know I used may of these types of stampers in those days.

    Why Obama Gets Four More Years in White House: Ralph Nader

    The stars are aligned for Barack Obama’s re-election in November 2012. He won’t join Jimmy Carter to be the second Democrat in 120 years to lose a second term.

    Five things are playing in Obama’s favor.

    First, the Republicans — driven by their most conservative members in Congress — will face a primary with many candidates who will advance harsh ideological positions. Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, Donald Trump and others might as well be on the Democratic National Committee payroll. House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan’s reverse Robin Hood plan to cut more than $6 trillion in spending over a decade will provide the outrage, stoked by a sitting president possessed of verbal discipline.

    Second, the Republican governors’ attacks on unions are turning off the swing voters and Reagan Democrats in Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Imagine the voter reaction if millions of workers lose their right to collective bargaining, and the impact that cuts in benefits and wages will have on their lives.

    Democratic governors, such as Jerry Brown of California, Pat Quinn of Illinois and Andrew Cuomo of New York, are cutting — but not taking away — workers’ bargaining rights. This is a politically useful contrast for Obama. Reagan Democrats, who have won many elections for the Republicans, are a big plus for Obama in the contested states.

    No Challenge

    Third, no candidates are emerging to challenge Obama in the primaries. A discussion of Obama’s forgotten campaign promises and record would have public support among Democrats. Even so, the liberal base has nowhere to go to send a message about war, free-trade agreements, raising the minimum wage or union membership.

    Nor does a third party or independent candidacy pose a threat, given the winner-take-all, two-party system.

    Fourth, Obama has neutered much of the big corporate lobby’s zeal to defeat him. He decided from the beginning not to prosecute executives from Wall Street banking, brokerage and rating firms. Multinational companies are pleased with Obama’s position on trade, on not disturbing the many corporate subsidies, handouts and giveaways, such as the corn-ethanol subsidy.

    Shelters for Wealthy

    By 2014, Obamacare will deliver some 30 million subsidized customers to health-insurance companies. The auto industry is forever grateful for its bailout. Obama hasn’t moved on corporate-tax reform, tax shelters for the wealthy, or the preferential capital-gains tax treatment on the 20 percent service fees of hedge fund managers. Don’t forget last December when Obama agreed to extended tax cuts for the rich while the budget deficit gets larger.

    The military-industrial complex about which President Dwight Eisenhower warned in his farewell address 50 years ago, is still uncontrollable, leading departing Defense Secretary Robert Gates to express serious concerns. Obama has even surprised George W. Bush and Dick Cheney and his cohort of neocons, who can scarcely believe how militarily aggressive Obama has been on just about every move that liberals used to call impeachable offenses by former President George W. Bush.

    Big Business

    Then there’s Jeffrey Immelt, the chairman and chief executive officer of General Electric Co., who can attest to Obama’s outreach to big business. GE Capital was bailed out. The company effectively paid no federal income taxes on $14.2 billion in 2010 profit and received a $3.2 billion benefit. Immelt got a $15.5 million pay raise. And in January, Obama appointed him chairman of the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness while letting him stay as head of a company receiving many government contracts and having regulation problems with the federal authorities. The corporate state doesn’t get much better than that.

    Fifth, since the Republicans have little to offer by way of creating jobs, Obama need only show improvement in macroeconomic indicators, as Ronald Reagan did in 1983-1984, and proceed to showcase all the tax breaks he has signed into law for big and small businesses. Poor Americans who continue to bear the brunt of the recession are hardly going to vote Republican. It will be easy for Obama, with his oratorical skills, to paint the Republican-controlled House of Representatives as obstructionist, especially as he develops an economic plan for his second term.

    There remain the Black Swans, events that defy prediction as those in Japan and the Middle East have shown. Handling them with firmness and calmness from the White House is what most people expect of a president. Obama will surely not repeat Bush’s mistakes after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

    Obama is averse to conflict with corporate power and disarmingly expedient in compromising with Republicans, leaving the latter to argue largely among themselves. The political duopoly lets the tactical Obama use the Bully Pulpit to his political advantage, even if his principles perish. Obama can look forward to four more years in 2012.

    Let’s talk about where Trump is definitely right: He said it was easy for Obama to release this, and it turns out, it was easy to release it. Therefore, Obama’s refusal to do so was simply churlish or games-playing.

    The media also got this wrong. Let me explain: For the past two months, the media has been increasingly pushing the meme that Obama can’t release the birth certificate.

    Their claim was that the birth certificate, by law, can only be released to someone with a “tangible” interest in it, and then they claimed — astute legal observers they — that Obama himself had no “tangible” interest in it, and so could not ask for a copy. All he could do, they averred, was inspect it at the Honolulu hall of records.

    Bullshit. Always was bullshit. Today’s release proves this to be the case (but don’t expect the media types pushing this goofy claim to apologize or confess error).

    “Tangible” does not have some arcane, term-of-art meaning in law. It means here what it does in real life. A real interest, a legally-recognizable interest, not some goofball on a fishing expedition in other people’s paperwork. It’s a vague word, and intended to be, that is, intentionally vague so that people can use common sense in defining it. It has no strict, black-letter-law definition. Facts and circumstances dictate a “tangible” interest; there is no long, complex caselaw on what a common English word means.

    Obama always could request the certificate and release it himself. The media was wrong.

    This is why people are skeptical of the media — for every three things they get right they simply make up and swear to a fourth thing that is flat-out wrong. And people know they do this to make life easier on themselves and, more importantly, the political party they favor.

    Of course Obama had a tangible interest in his own birth certificate, given a swirling conspiracy theory that he literally was not eligible to serve in the office he’d been elected to (and would seek to be re-elected to in 18 months). That’s not a tangible interest?

    Further, the media put on its Stupid Caps and pretended further that Obama, President of the United States, and Neil Abercrombie, Governor of Hawaii and friend to and champion of Obama, could not change the law, or at least its operative effect, with a mere signature.

    Who would question if Obama formally requested the document, and the Governor said, “Under these circumstances, I find the President does have a tangible interest, as the law requires, and so I direct the Secretary of State (or whoever) to release the document per his wishes”?

    No one would question that.

    And yet the media insisted again and again that this was a legal impossibility.

    And yet: We have the birth certificate now, which the media swore to us was an impossibility.

    Any correction coming from the media on that point?

    No, of course not.

    Trump (and many Birthers) were suspicious precisely because it was so easy to disprove and yet he refused to do so.

    There’s an idea in law — as in life, generally; it’s common sense — that if a fact is in dispute but under one party’s exclusive power to prove one way or the other, and yet he refuses to do so, the fact-finder may make an adverse inference against him on that fact.

    Now, I understand why people therefore felt comfortable making that inference — it was fair to do so. It just was still wrong, despite being fair.

    But the fact that Obama refused to take this simple action for two years — when it was always easy for him to do so — means that his reasons for withholding it were not, as the media swore (incorrectly) that he was bound by law, but rather simply he didn’t want to.

    And he didn’t want to either because he’s thin-skinned and thought this an affront or because he cynically calculated that driving some people batty would be good for his election chances.

    Those are the only two possible reasons. The media’s made-up, go-to “reason,” that it’s against the law for the President to seek his own birth certificate from his close friend and ally, the Governor of Hawaii — is and always was false.

    As Trump, ahem, is proud to have proven today.

    Whose Distraction Is It Anyway? While Obama huffs and puffs, peevishly, about this “distraction”…

    “We do not have time for this kind of silliness,” Obama said. “We’ve got better stuff to do. I’ve got better stuff to do. We’ve got big problems to solve.”

    …I can’t help but notice that the distraction existed precisely because Obama refused to place a two minute phone call to former Governor Lingle, and then, later, refused to place a one minute phone call to one of his oldest friends, Governor Abercrombie, and when I say “oldest” friends, I mean it — Abercrombie saw baby Barack shortly after he was born, and they’ve been friends since Obama was a conscious, self-aware individual.

    So, let’s not get all huffy about “distractions,” champ. You were willing — nay, eager — to let this “distraction” fester so long as you believed it was in your political advantage to do so.

    The situation changed, and it became no longer clearly in your political advantage, so you finally did what had been long requested and even recommended by no less than Chris Matthews.

    Let’s not turn a long-delayed one-minute phone call into a Profile in Courage.

    Images of two 1961 Hawaii birth certificates similar to the one President Obama purportedly has on file have now been unveiled.

    The Honolulu Advertiser published photostats of the original long-form birth certificates of twin daughters born to Eleanor Nordyke at Kapi’olani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital Aug. 5, 1961, one day after Obama was supposedly born at the same facility.

    The Nordykes’ certificates include information missing from the short-form document for Obama published online, including the name of the hospital, the name of the attending physician, name and address of the parents, the race of the parents and the race of the baby.

    As WND reported yesterday, Hawaii’s director of health responded to the growing controversy over the White House’s refusal to release Obama’s original long-form birth certificate by issuing a statement about the document in apparent contravention of Hawaiian law.

    Dr. Chiyome Fukino declared she has seen the “original birth records” that verify Obama was born in Hawaii and is a “natural-born American citizen,” the Honolulu Advertiser reported.

    But in two separate telephone interviews with WND, Janice Okubo, the health department’s public information officer, told WND that Hawaii law prohibited her from commenting on the birth records of any specific person.

    The statement to WND by Janice Okubo, public information officer for state’s health department, contradicted CNN U.S. President Jon Klein, who ordered host Lou Dobbs to quit discussing Obama’s birth certificate on the air. Klein insisted the issue was “dead” because Obama’s original long-form birth certificate had been destroyed by the Hawaii DOH in the conversion to electronic files.

    Another possibility is that Obama’s number is not a genuine registration number created in 1961 but was issued when the short-form document was generated during the 2008 presidential campaign.

    Eleanor Nordyke told WND she thinks her twins got lower numbers because she went into the hospital Aug. 4, 1961, and was in labor for 20 hours before she delivered. She speculates that Ann Dunham came in after her and was given a later number, even though Dunham’s baby was born earlier. Nordyke’s twins were not born until the afternoon of the next day.

    WND was unable to receive a response from Hawaii officials regarding the state’s procedure for issuing registration numbers.

    Meanwhile, an image of an apparently fraudulent Kenyan certificate of birth circulated on the Web today from an unknown source. It alleged Obama was born in Mombasa. But a contributor at FreeRepublic.com debunked it, declaring “Busted!”

    He pointed out that the background text, in Dutch, explained, in a rough translation, “This is not a government document. This is political commentary.”

    It’s not just Obama’s original birth certificate at issue. WND has reported that among the documentation not yet available for Obama includes his kindergarten records, his Punahou school records, his Occidental College records, his Columbia University records, his Columbia thesis, his Harvard Law School records, his Harvard Law Review articles, his scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, his passport, his medical records, his files from his years as an Illinois state senator, his Illinois State Bar Association records, any baptism records, and his adoption records.

    What is it you do not understand about *Individual taxpayers will be paying for their grandparents medical care EITHER WAY* ? With Medicare, at least some corporations are getting taxed for this also, thus sharing the burden.

    And please note in Mrs. SMith’s excellent Examiner article, the point that Medicare gets a cheaper rate from the hospitals than private hc/insurance companies do. So the costs per se are LESS with Medicare.

    I can’t believe Ryan’s destruction of Medicare will really pass the SEnate — or Obama’s famous veto.

    It is not necessary to have an opinion about where President Obama was born to know that his lack of candor has cost him public trust. Obama’s approval ratings are in the mid-40s, while his disapproval ratings hover at the 50 percent mark. The president’s release of his birth certificate feels forced. Obama should have released his birth certificate as a candidate.

    In this hyper-media driven world, the public expects to know everything about their elected officials, and they often do. And when they do not, they become curious and then they become suspicious. And once those suspicions set-in, critics and others feel free to fill-in the gaps. This is what happened to Obama.

    After Watergate, the lesson that America learned was that it is the cover-up that gets you.

    In this Facebook/WikiLeaks world nothing stays secret for very long world. The GOP may not be able to force Obama to disclose White House logs, or college transcripts. But the 2012 candidates can lead by example, and let the public know who is being straight with them.

    Memo to prospective Republican 2012 presidential candidates: make a complete disclosure now. Release your complete birth records, all your transcripts, 10 years’ worth of tax returns, and any and all arrest records. Do it now, not later. Let the American voter know who you really are.

    Tell America where you were born, whether you have an arrest record, how much money you make, how much taxes you pay, how much and to whom do you donate to charity, what is your financial worth, what do you in in property and investments, how financially indebted are you and who are your clients, where did you go to school, what courses did you take and what were your grades. The public has a right to know. During the campaign release the names and amounts of campaign contributions in real time.

    Can disclosure be embarrassing? We know the answer to that question. But we also know that refusal to come clean is worse.

    During the 2000 campaign, George W. Bush failed to disclose his 1976 arrest for driving under the influence, until Fox New’s Carl Cameron broke the story. Bush’s inability to admit the truth until he was caught likely cost him the popular vote and nearly cost him the November election.

    These days, President Obama continues to stonewall about releasing his college and law school transcripts, despite continued public demand. A look at Obama’s poll number tells the story of how not coming clean can damage the man, the office and the public trust.

    In the case of Obama, his claims of privacy sounds hollow given the fact that wrote an autobiography called “Dreams of My Father.”

    The Gospel says, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” If Obama could sit through Reverend Wright’s sermons all those years, the least he can now do is take a hint from John 8:32 and come clean with a release of his personal records and transcripts. If you are going to “share” in a book, be prepared to tell all when you run for president.

    As for financial records, a ten-year release of tax returns lets the public know whether the candidate obeys the tax laws, whether he or she has problems making ends meet, whether the candidate is personally generous and what the candidate’s priorities are.

    A rabbi once observed that a person’s spirituality can be measured by how he or she tends to the material needs of others. Does America want another president whose favorite charity was Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ?

    Also, does America want a president who does not obey or know the tax laws? Timothy Geithner, Obama’s Treasury Secretary, failed to pay $34,000 in taxes.

    Tom Daschle, Obama’s first HHS Secretary Designee and former Democratic Senate Majority Leader, had his nomination pulled because he failed to pay over $83,000 in taxes and improperly took nearly $15,000 in tax deductions.

    The Senate gets to review presidential nominations. But, it is the American people who are asked to pass judgment upon a presidential wannabe, and the public can only do its job properly if the candidate makes an early and complete disclosure.

    Financial disclosure will also enable the public to know whether a candidate made his or her money by investing his or her money overseas, as opposed to helping create jobs at home, or whether a prospective president was on a foreign payroll shilling for a company controlled by Hugo Chavez.

    In 1988 Democratic vice presidential candidate Lloyd Bentsen had a weak spot for investing in the Fidelity Overseas fund.

    In 2004 Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards had a similar weakness for foreign investment while hypocritically complaining about a lack of jobs in the United States.

    During his 2008 presidential run former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s client list emerged as a campaign issue.

    Former House Ways and Means Committee Chair Charlie Rangel’s “omissions” on his disclosure forms are the stuff of legend, laughs and lore. Oh, and they cost Rangel his committee chairmanship.

    Presidents, senators, congressmen and high level federal appointees and employees are required to disclose their assets annually. The same kind of disclosure should be made by prospective nominees. Neither the public nor the press should be made to grovel for this vital information.

    If a candidate is unwilling to make comprehensive disclosure about personal history, finances and education, that candidate should not be running for president. But, if they can stand the heat and make complete disclosure, the candidate and the country will be the better for it. These days the truth comes out, and how it comes out can either make you or break you

    I am looking at the NYS birth certificates I had to get in order to apply for a NYS driver’s license.

    The city clerk sent me 2 docs.

    One is a “certified transcript of birth”, has a raised seal and is a “true and accurate transcription of the information recorded on the original local certificate of birth on file with the local registrar.”

    It is in short form – much like BO’s COLB.

    The second which has no heading, is much longer and says it is a “true copy of a record on file in the office of the city clerk.”

    It includes the length of pregnancy, birth weight, siblings, signature of attendant, syphilis test, etc.

  304. My health department sent me one form that is a copy of a very old document with all the information writen in, not typed. The back with the seal says it is a certified copy of the original certificate filed at the department of health. It has things like ‘color or race’ and color was given. It lists how long the mother was in the hospital and how long in the community. It also asks how many previous children, how many born dead and how many born alive. I used this paper to get a passport and apply for Medicare.

Indeed, there is no middle. His budget compromises with Boehner are not middle ground, they are partial surrenders, grudging acceptances of budget cuts he would never otherwise allow.

    In the Clinton days, there were — and I suspect still are — two camps in the Democratic White House. There were those who advocated a fundamental repositioning in the center of our politics and those who wanted to battle along ideological lines, using economic populism and class antagonisms to bolster their chances of victory.

    The problem with a leftist strategy is that the vote share a Democrat can attract with it has a very low ceiling — in the low 40s. Economic populism just doesn’t play that well outside of the Democratic left.

    The key to this electoral model is, of course, turnout. Obama made it work in 2008 by adding the votes of new, younger voters, increasing the African-American and Latino turnout and playing on the unique economic panic of the times. But, absent a big increase in liberal turnout, the appeal of class warfare and populist rhetoric is sharply limited.

    Will Obama be able to replicate his turnout model of 2008 in 2012? With high unemployment, inflation and gas prices, it’s very unlikely. His problem, more probably, will be to animate his base and breathe it back to sufficient life to give him any chance at all. Most polls show growing liberal disaffection with Obama, as Libya, Afghanistan and his failure to close Guantánamo sap the enthusiasm he needs on the left.

    But Obama has a larger problem in moving to the left. You can’t get reelected president as an advocate. You need to be a leader. Only Harry Truman managed to get a second term by way of overtly partisan rhetoric, and he was coming off 20 years of the New Deal coalition. A president who attacks the rich and seeks to divide the country might be able to rely on the base to keep his approval ratings in the low 40s, but he has no way to get reelected.

    Indeed, Obama will lose in 2012 for reasons very different from his victory in 2008. By the time the next election comes around, voters will see all around them evidence of his weakness and incompetence. It is now evident in the escape of Taliban prisoners in Afghanistan. It will increasingly be clear as inflation mounts and gas prices continue their upward progression. More and more it will be evident that this former community organizer is not up to the job and has no idea what he is doing.

    A positioning on the left might suffice for winning the Democratic nomination or even election to an open seat. But it does not satisfy the national need for leadership, ability, skill and wisdom. Obama cannot be reelected in running like the candidate of 2008.

  307. The story I am getting is that rather than Obama upstaging Trump’s press conference, it was precisely the reverse. Also, Obama is white hot over being forced to release this information, worried about what else will come out and livid at being upstaged. Meanwhile Sarah is saying that Obama needs to put down the teleprompter, roll up his sleeves and do the job of governing–we have too many problems that require presidential leadership rather than his grand foray into the endless campaign. Trump has more and will milk this thing til hell won’t have it anymore. The political leadership at a loss to know how to handle this and he has turned big media into his straight man who without realizing it feed him pitches which he can knock out of the park. I think he is a one man wrecking ball against Obama. And he is a threat to the Republican establishment as well, because he is making them appear both weak and complacent when it comes to Obama.

  308. The other thing about it is Obama looked livid–a picture of defeat, and took no questions at his press conference and called his opponent names. Trump looked triumphant, declared victory and took questions. Trump is not intimidated by Obama, any more than foreign leaders are. He knows Obama is flaccid. And he does not bow to big media. They say you have mot answered my question, and he says yes I have but you are too slow to understand this. In essence, rather than accept their authority as republicans do, he challenges their authority, brains and legitimacy every time they try to throw their weight around with him.

A tea party pundit on fox just pointed out that Obama not only walked all over the big news that he was going to announce today (the CIA-Pentagon switch), but did it himself when a staffer should have handled the announcement. I think he wanted to look trimphant himself. But then the tea partier said Trump should drop the transparency issue and address the important ones. Why does everyone want to move on so quickly. The election is a year and a half away.

    Like they say in the Marine Corps every asshole has an opinion. But some people like Trump have a track record which validates they know what they are doing. That is the difference. No one is denying that there are other issues. But first they must de-fang the rattle snake.

  312. Re the “diffusion of responsibility” subject. I’m not reading the details. But there’s a current reality TV show that explores (less violent) instances all recorded from the start. It’s “What Would You Do?”

    Actors set up a situation where someone is apparently being abused, to see what bystanders do about it. All is filmed, and later the bystanders are interviewed.

    In the episode I saw, several bystanders did interfere — even though it was in a restaurant so they had to get up from their own dinners. (The staged abuse was about trying to throw out a service dog and handicapped owner.)

  313. Re: the type of paper used for this new BC.

    I don’t believe that anyone ever gets their actual BC – it’s always a copy. The only original stays locked away – (although maybe now they’re all scanned into a system), and the info only copied into a copy when requested.

    Investigators would have to examine the original in Hawaii – and I’m sure BO would have to give permission. Which he won’t, of course.
