Obama JournoListers Attack: Barack Obama Too Weak And Helpless To Get His Birth Certificate Legally Is Their Excuse

Donald Trump is drawing blood. The JournoListers who protected Obama during the Jeremiah Wright scandal realize they have a problem with their boy wonder. The JournoListers, aided by a bunch of Republicans/conservatives who want their own candidates to get the Republican nomination, have launched a counterattack.

The Race Card has been played against Donald Trump already (as we knew it would). But we’ll discuss the race card versus the Trump card after tomorrow’s publicity stunt on deficits and the economy. Today, let’s look at the question of whether it is possible for Barack Obama to get an original “long-form” birth certificate.

Tonight Bill O’Reilly repeated the nonsense that Barack Obama cannot get his birth certificate. Rubbish. This legal mumbo jumbo is the latest line of attack, the latest defense, of why Barack Obama has not produced a birth certificate and why he has fought in the courts to keep it quiet. The refutation of this “legal” defense oddly enough comes from Time Magazine.

Time Magazine set out to make fun of them ol’ dumb “birthers” and Donald Trump. But in the course of the ridicule, Time Magazine squashes the legal, the “Barack Obama is too weak and helpless to get his birth certificate defense. Here’s how Time magazine sets up their article:

“Of course Donald Trump is just doing the birther thing to get publicity. But for those of us who find birtherism a sad and tedious spectacle rather than a cause for curiosity is there anyone who can end the idiocy once and for all? It turns out one man has the credibility, the standing, the firepower: Dick Cheney.

Bear with me. The entire birther charade is built on the absence of a photocopy of Obama’s original birth certificate. There is a reason such a photocopy does not exist—the law. By law, original birth certificates in the state of Hawaii can only be inspected by a specific and circumscribed group of people. The state can issue those people a certified copy. But the original document itself cannot be photocopied by anyone. Here’s the law:”

We’re going to spare you the garbage posted after that “Here’s the law:” bit because it is plain old rubbish. A lie. It is simply not true. How do we know? We know because Time Magazine was forced to update the article and admits their legal “facts” are wrong. WRONG.

The Time Magazine article (published Monday, April 11, 2011 at 12:50 pm) mocks “birthers” and Donald Trump. The author of the article writes lighthearted silliness suggesting that Dick Cheney, as a distant relative of Obama, might be able to help. Here’s that silly section:

“I’ll get to the authorized persons in a second, but first, let’s review. Section (a) of Hawaii’s law on vital records explicitly says it is unlawful to copy a vital statistics record. Section (b) authorizes specific individuals to inspect the document and the state can issue them a certified copy. But it provides no option for photocopying by anyone.

Obama has made public an authorized copy of the document issued by the state and complete with a raised seal. That didn’t get him very far. Neither have the multiple statements by people who have inspected the original document.

So if you can’t issue a photocopy of the original and birthers don’t believe the state-issued certified copy or the officials who have inspected the original, there is only one option: find someone authorized to inspect the original whom birthers will believe. Which brings us to Dick Cheney. [snip]

As you no doubt remember, Dick Cheney and Barack Obama are 8th cousins. Lynne Cheney, who discovered the fact researching a book a few years ago, said (at 8:15) to Nora O’Donnell in 2008, “If you go back eight generations they have a common ancestor.”

So instead of hiring Magnum PI to look into it, why doesn’t Donald Trump just ask Dick Cheney to make a trip to Hawaii and inspect the document and testify to its validity?”

Hardie, hardie, har, har. Isn’t that every so funny and precious? Oh those Big Media wits are so very very clever.

But, but, but, but, but, but….. shocker… heart attack warning….. OMG! — Time Magazine then say’s “never mind, we’re wrong!” Here’s the Time Magazine update:

Updated 5:40 p.m. [snip]

I mistakenly said above that photocopies of original birth certificates are disallowed by law in Hawaii. In fact, the law as I cited it says that the state’s department of health can create rules regarding the copying of vital statistics records. And if you click through to the Hawaii DoH webpage of FAQs regarding Obama’s birth certificate, at item 5 (pdf) you can download those rules. At chapter 8B, paragraph 2.4(B)(1a), you will find this:

Standard copies of vital records may be prepared by photographic, dry copy reproduction process or by typing.

At paragraph 2.5 (A)(1) the rules say that a standard copy (including either a photographic copy or a dry copy) may be issued to:

The registrant, his descendants, his authorized agent or upon order of a court of competent jurisdiction.”

The “registrant” is Barack Obama. Barack Obama can and is legally easily able to get a photocopy of his birth certificate. So, why doesn’t he? Isn’t that what Donald Trump is asking?

The Obama JournoListers somehow believe that Barack Obama is too weak and helpless to get his birth certificate. Even if the law was as ludicrous (one of their favorite words to explain the “birther” questions) as these fools pretend does any one doubt that Barack Obama could not get his friend the governor of Hawaii and the legislature of Hawaii to correct the law and send weak and helpless Obama a copy of the birth certificate?

As Time Magazine points out, Barack Obama can easily (it will cost three dollars and we will help raise the funds penny by penny if necessary) and legally get his birth certificate.

We are sure that between Big Pink and Donald Trump three dollars could be raised rather quickly. Perhaps others will help raise the three dollars required.

The nonsense that Obama is too weak and helpless to get his birth certificate and that the law won’t permit him – and he is so law abiding he would not think of violating the law – that many are, er, TRUMPeting, that lie as a weak excuse. At DailyKooks the ‘Obama can’t because of the law’ is in full flight.

The embarrassment called Michael Isikoff published a lengthy mess of an article called “Ex-Hawaii official denounces ‘ludicrous’ birther claims.” Notice the use of “ludicrous” in the title. Isikoff published his article on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 10:59:35 a.m. ET. Isikoff highlights the ravings of Dr. Chiyome Fukino, the former director of Hawaii’s Department of Health.

Fukino swears she saw the birth certificate and politically denounces those who want to see the source document for themselves. Fukino also states the lie that “legally” the birth certificate cannot be released. Here is what Isikoff writes:

“Her second point — one she made repeatedly in the interview — is that the shorter, computer generated “certification of live birth” that was obtained by the Obama campaign in 2007 and has since been publicly released is the standard document that anybody requesting their birth certificate from the state of Hawaii would receive from the health department.”

Here’s the clinker, or rather, the clunker, from Isikoff’s article which is quoted by the birth certificate can be released deniers:

“But Wisch, the spokesman for the attorney general’s office, said state law does not in fact permit the release of “vital records,” including an original “record of live birth” — even to the individual whose birth it records.

“It’s a Department of Health record and it can’t be released to anybody,” he said. Nor do state laws have any provision that authorizes such records to be photocopied, Wisch said. If Obama wanted to personally visit the state health department, he would be permitted to inspect his birth record, Wisch said.

But if he or anybody else wanted a copy of their birth records, they would be told to fill out the appropriate state form and receive back the same computer generated “certification of live birth” form that everybody else gets — which is exactly what Obama did four years ago.”

We checked, and you can check for yourselves by seeing the Isikoff article HERE, and we found no “update” correcting the article. Time Magazine corrected the ‘legally helpless’ lie at at 5:40 but Michael Isikoff is too dishonest to correct his lie in the same magazine.

Tommy Christopher at Mediaite on April 11 at 7:03 a.m. published an article called “How To Interview Donald Trump: The Birther-Debunker’s Guide To The Universe.” That article is supposed to be the ultimate hitchhikers guide to the galaxy of ‘Obama is too helpless and weak to get his birth certificate’ defenders/deniers. The tone of the article again is dismissive, mocking, and ever so intellectual. Here is the “legal” defense argument by Tommy:

Why Doesn’t President Obama Release His Long-Form Birth Certificate?

I’m going to start here, because this is the piece of the puzzle that nagged at me for a long time. For the uninitiated, much of the Birther conspiracy centers around the Obama campaign’s release of a Certification of Live Birth (COLB) to prove his eligibility for the office of the presidency, rather than an original “long-form” birth certificate. The COLB is the equivalent of the certified copy I use whenever I need a birth certificate, or whenever anyone else does the same. Nobody carries around their “original” birth certificate (although, according to Stephen Wright, George Washington carried around a dollar bill for this purpose).

While Hawaii state officials have sworn that the certified copy is a valid and true copy of the original birth certificate, and have sworn that they have personally inspected the original with their own eyes, they are unable to produce a copy of it for our consumption. In all fairness, there are competing explanations for this. The first, offered at the conclusion of Gov. Neil Abercrombie’s fruitless quest to end the controversy, is this: (emphasis mine)

State Attorney General David Louie told the governor that privacy laws bar him from disclosing an individual’s birth documentation without the person’s consent, Abercrombie spokeswoman Donalyn Dela Cruz said Friday.

Right, so why won’t Barry Hussein O’SecretmuslimBama give his consent, huh? Well, according to a spokesman for the Hawaii Attorney General’s office, he can’t:

“It’s a Department of Health record and it can’t be released to anybody,” he said. Nor do state laws have any provision that authorizes such records to be photocopied, Wisch said. If Obama wanted to personally visit the state health department, he would be permitted to inspect his birth record, Wisch said.

They can’t both be true, right? Well, they kind of are. According to the Hawaii state law in question, Hawaii Revised Statutes §338-18(b), only those who meet the specific criteria of having a “direct and tangible interest” may “inspect” or have a “certified copy” issued to them. Now, “direct and tangible interest” isn’t something you get to argue about. You’re either on the list, or you’re not. The list consists mainly of those with particular legal relationships with Obama, or those with a court order.

No biggie, though. We’ve already seen the certified copy, and heard from those who have inspected the original. But where does the law say Obama can’t authorize release of the original, or a copy of the original? From HRS §338-18(a): (emphasis mine)

To protect the integrity of vital statistics records, to ensure their proper use, and to ensure the efficient and proper administration of the vital statistics system, it shall be unlawful for any person to permit inspection of, or to disclose information contained in vital statistics records, or to copy or issue a copy of all or part of any such record, except as authorized by this part or by rules adopted by the department of health.

That means only disclosures specified by law are permitted under any circumstances, and photographing or copying an original record is not listed anywhere, either with or without a “direct and tangible interest,” or a court order. Unless Eric Cantor changes the law, a photograph or photocopy of Barack Obama’s original birth certificate is not permitted under any circumstances. Barack Obama himself couldn’t release a photograph of the original record.”

So now we hear that it is all Republican Eric Cantor’s fault.

What Tommy does not explain or bother to question is why Barack Obama does not give his “consent” to get the birth certificate released. Isn’t that what Donald Trump wants?

Tommy did not correct his lie of an article later in the day either. No wonder the frazzled DailyKooks are so confused:

“Birthers are screaming for the “long form,” but no one ordering a replacement birth certificate in Hawaii gets the “long form.” [snip]

UPDATE: Dr Fukino, who is no longer at the Hawaii Department of Health, and Joshua Wisch of the Hawaii Attorney General’s office, recently gave interviews to MSNBC confirming that the “long form” exists, that his birth also appears in a register of vital statistics, that the short “certificate of live birth” is what everyone gets when needing a duplicate, and that Obama could not have a photocopy of the long form even if he wanted it:

No update from the DailyKooks stating that indeed Obama is not so helpless or impoverished (our offer stands to organize a fundraising drive to get the necessary three dollars) that he (Barack Obama) cannot get a copy of his “long-form” birth certificate.

Gail Collins in her response to the Donald Trump response likewise went with the “he can’t” lie. Wrote the mendacious Collins: “THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE If only Hawaii made its birth records public, and charged people a thousand dollars a pop to look at them, the state’s budget problems would be solved by the conspiracy theorists. However, it doesn’t. If you were born in Hawaii and request a copy of your birth certificate, you get a certification of live birth….”

Collins somehow forgets to inform her readers that indeed Barack Obama can get a copy of his “long-form” birth certificate but somehow refused to ask for it or to provide his “consent” – even to his Governor friend.

Those not happy with Donald Trump will talk about anything but why Barack Obama will not release his birth certificate. The JournoListers are doing everything they can to misinform the public and protect Obama. Soon the JournoListers will latch on to the scar on Obama’s head in order to distract from what they call the birth certificate “distraction”.

A lot of Republicans/conservatives are very upset with Donald Trump because he threatens to run as an independent. Some Republicans/conservatives are upset with Donald Trump because he threatens their favorite candidate. Some Republicans/conservatives think Donald Trump’s hair is an issue of “character” (seriously). Many on the left and the right are glowering with fury that The Donald continues to rise in polls for the Republican nomination.

Many Republicans/conservatives and some decent people on the left do not want to discuss the birth certificate issue because it is a “distraction” from a discussion on the economy and the damage Obama does every day. The not at all honest Obama thugs simply want to destroy Donald Trump because Trump is talking about the forbidden Antoin “Tony” Rezko as well as the Obama missing birth certificate.

There is a need to discuss the economic damage Obama wreaks every day.
There is a need to discuss all the current and costly Obama scams and flim-flams. There is a need to thoroughly air the current economic situation and Obama’s lies.

But there are a lot of unanswered questions about Barack Obama that must be addressed. Questions JournoListers protected Obama on. Donald Trump is beginning to ask those questions. The response has been a concerted effort to distract with lies about “legal” helplessness to get documents (hey, where are all those Illinois state records?).

The lies and distractions to protect Barack Obama will continue. We’ll continue to call for the truth (The Race Card Versus The Trump Card will come after tomorrow’s economic discussion).

someone posted this on the last thread,

    http://www.thepostemail.com/2011/04/12/breaking-from-hawaii-no-more-long-form-birth-certificates/

apparently now the HI health dept will no longer release anybody’s long form BC. I have to admit, this is the most hilarious thing I have ever seen. I sure hope Trump knows all the chess pieces months before this entire thing started.
the Waffles camp and their media mouth pieces are battening down the hatches everywhere. I just hope Trump has all this info already.

  2. so the dept of health for HI says it can’t release it without the consent of the person by law, and then the person says the dept of health for HI will not release anyone’s long form BC by law.

    have I got this correct?

  3. I’m watching Rick Klein on Greta’s show, this man has some of the most shifty eyes I’ve ever seen. I don’t trust him one bit.

  4. “the JournoListers will latch on to the scar on Obama’s head ”
    ————-
LOL, what will they label them, ‘scarers’ because talking about that scar will spook people out.

  5. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/04/12/pawlenty-%e2%80%98i%e2%80%99m-running-for-president%e2%80%99/

Former Republican Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty told CNN’s Piers Morgan Tuesday he’s focused on running for the White House.

“I’m running for president,” Pawlenty said in an interview Tuesday on “Piers Morgan Tonight.” “I’m not putting my hat in the ring rhetorically or ultimately for vice president. I’m focused on running for president.”

  6. Still reading Admin’s great post-

…As Time Magazine points out, Barack Obama can easily (it will cost three dollars and we will help raise the funds penny by penny if necessary) and legally get his birth certificate.

We are sure that between Big Pink and Donald Trump three dollars could be raised rather quickly. Perhaps others will help raise the three dollars required.

    ——–
This is a great project, raising money, penny by penny for Barry’s BC.

Send a ton of pennies to Trump to deliver in a big money bag, to the first debate, as long as Trump agrees to say that it’s from Hillary supporters that want to see a copy of the REAL Birth Certificate.

That would tell folks that Hillary has an army that hasn’t gotten over ‘it’ and let Trump know we are behind him.

  7. funny how the right and the left had no problem dragging Bill and Hillary Clinton through hell and back regarding the Whitewater fiasco (don’t forget it was Jerry Brown who ignited the whole thing)

…one special prosecutor was not enough…no they needed two special prosecutors to drag the Clintons thru the mud…countless congressional investigations (remember that SOB Al D’Amato going after Hill and Bill)

…dragging the First Lady Hillary Clinton in front of a grand jury (can you imagine anyone DARING TO drag First Ladies Laura Bush or Michelle Obama in front of any grand jury?…there would be riots) …but no problem dragging on investigations of the Clintons for years and years and millions of dollars…and accusing them of everything under the sun from drug running to murder…that was ok because it was the Clintons…

…but for Obama no one is interested in his Rezco connection…just swat that little annoying thing away never to be discussed or investigated again…a simple “it was a dumb thing to do” from Obama is enough…got that…now move on…

  8. I am going to step up to the plate and I will send in the FULL 3 dollars. That’s right, you heard it here first. The money has been raised.

  9. Tim Pawlenty running for president…he must be dreaming…

that reminds me of when the dims put up Dukakis…or when the repubs put up Dole…just never going to happen…forgetaboutit!

  10. I love how Trump tells the WSJ reporter, “Don’t ask a stupid question like that” and his “Excuse me”‘s, and frankly it was a stupid question in my opinion, and that reporter is then shaken, he did the same to CNN, I just do not see this man being intimidated by any chicago mafia gang and these media mafia. And that is his strongest suit. Do I care about his divorces, heck no.

  11. It has been obvious since the short form was made public that specific data was omitted. Different jurisdictions over the years have put all types of info on birth records because they were originally recorded for health, demographic and census data and DOB or place of birth was of secondary importance to the Bureau of Health. The parents ages or dates of birth, parents place of birth, occupations, ethnicity, address at time of birth, religion (or lack thereof), other living children born of the mother, deceased children born of the mother, mortality of the mother, multiple birth, years lived in that state, hospital name, home birth, name of attending physician or midwife, reporting relative (usually mother or father), recording official name and signature, etc, etc. Other birth records not reported by attending doctors or midwives, usually reported later are referred to a delayed birth records even if they are recorded a short time after the birth. These records are not gathered for health statistics by medical professionals.

I think a family reported birth record was made for Obama and they do not want it made public.

  12. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0411/53067.html

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – For thirty years this state has served as the firewall for establishment Republican presidential hopefuls, the place where insurgents who emerged from Iowa and New Hampshire went to die.

In 2012, that tradition might end.

GOP activists attending county party conventions last weekend here and in next-door Greenville County – the heart of the conservative Upstate –made scant mention of Mitt Romney, Haley Barbour and Tim Pawlenty. Instead, the talk is of Michele Bachmann, Donald Trump and even Allen West, a rookie Florida congressman who’s shown no interest in running for president.

The state that’s been the establishment’s bulwark, it seems, is being buffeted by the same grassroots forces of change that are remaking the GOP elsewhere.

  13. If Hawaii will no longer issue long form birth certificates it is going to blow up in their faces. These records are also the primary proof of relationship. This is critical in establishing inheritance rights in courts of jurisdiction. It is also being used increasingly by insurance companies in covering children for health insurance and life insurance. Other states issue these records as a matter of course and Hawaii choosing not to do so at the very time pressure is being put on their favorite son may have more to do with very lax laws that allowed anyone to record a birth whether born in state or not. That would blow the probative value of every birth record issued by the state and potentially make all of their records questionable. It looks like they are panicking and not thinking this through or are under terrible pressure to do so.

    *********

this concept is exactly what I was thinking…the days of the establishment forcing their choice candidate on us…are over…and if the repubs are so stupid as to convert to the caucus system then they are really asking for trouble…

one of things that i gave a nod to them for was at least they pretended and kept up the appearance of “one person, one vote’…unlike our party that just fixed the whole primary system with our rigged caucus system and last year added the ultimate insult to injury regarding democracy by, as hard as it is to believe…by actually denying the votes of two states…

if the repubs follow the caucus system that is less democracy for all concerned…if they try to manipulate the system to force their Pawlenty or Romney on a public that does not want them they will succeed in creating a ‘third party’ or ‘another way’

  15. Trump met with Huckabee and now Huckabee thinks Trump will run. This is getting serious.

    http://thepage.time.com/2011/04/12/huck-sees-the-donald-in/

In an interview to air Monday, April 25 on SiriusXM’s Here’s Barbara

Below are select excerpts from the show:

On Donald Trump as possible candidate for the 2012 presidential election:

Mike Huckabee: “….I believe that if he gets in the race he is going to be formidable because everybody knows ‘The Donald’ and money will be no object for him…and I think he’s going to get in it. I seriously believe he’s going to jump in.”

    Barbara Walters: “Really?”

Mike Huckabee: “I met with him a few weeks ago in New York and I got every indication that he is definitely going to run.”

Barbara Walters: “What did he say to you, what did you say to him?”

Mike Huckabee: “We had a nice talk because he had been on a talk show…and was asked who he would be favorable toward if he didn’t run. He said ‘Well, one guy I like out there is Mike Huckabee,’ which kind of took me aback….anyway, we had a mutual friend arrange a meeting and we just had a very honest and open conversation about the process of running…it was kind of like two dogs sniffing around a fire hydrant together.”

Barbara Walters: “You really think he’s going to run and be a serious candidate?”

Mike Huckabee: “I do. Barbara, I did not think that going into the meeting but when I came out I thought, ‘This guy is going to get out there and do it.’”

  16. btw…happened to catch a bit of MO and Jill Biden on the insider tonight…they are promoting and taking their ‘military families’ show on the road…and…

MO said that she and Jill wanted to turn it into a ‘reality show’ but “those people” would not allow it…when asked who “those people” were she answered the secret service…you can bet MO would love her own reality show…kind of like when Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie did their traveling show ‘the simple life’

  17. Joshua Green of The Atlantic continues the lies (he must not read Time magazine or the article we quoted extensively from):

    http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2011/04/what-donald-trumps-birther-investigators-will-find-in-hawaii/237198/

But you can’t obtain a copy of Obama’s certificate of live birth because the Federal Health Information Privacy Act of 1999, which protects medical records from public scrutiny, forbids it. The Obama campaign probably worsened the situation by releasing this copy of a certificate of live birth–worsened it because this is obviously only a copy (printed from a computer) and not the original. So the effect on the birther rumors was like the effect of steroids on Barry Bonds: it made everything bigger and uglier.

  18. Admin: this is a fine piece of analysis. Superb actually. Any honest journalist will appreciate this. They know there is dead rot in their ranks–and it needs to be torn out root and branch. Ishikoff is a demented individual. Tommie baby Kristopher is an on his knees sword swallower for Obama. The Hawaiian officials you cite are simply corrupt political hacks. The Time Magazine retraction leaves all of them exposed to the world for what they are: pure unadulterated liars. When they misrepresent the law, how can anyone trust them when they say they have seen the long form birth certificate and it is okay? And if only now they are changing the law to prohibit anyone from the registrant, to the descendants, to his agents to a court of competent jurisdiction from photocopying those records doesn’t that tell the real story that this is a cover-up writ large and a scam of epic proportions. If Trump is holding aces, then they are in trouble. Simply put, there is no legal defense for Obama. He could get the birth certificate if he wanted to for $3. Instead, he spent $2 million to avoid producing it. Why????

  19. Does anyone here have a friend or relative that is Obama’s age who lives in Hawaii?? Ask them to go to their local state records office, pay $3.00, and get a copy of their original birth certificate. Would prove if they can, Obama can…

  20. This is just priceless. Now we have Time documenting the actual rules afterall in a sheepish mea culpa, only they’ll soon find out that Hawaii has broken all of their regulations and laws once more in this coordinated coverup by suddenly pulling this latest crap of even yanking the order form and changing it in the last few days. They have drawn out rules and procedures to follow to make any changes. They hid the crucial rules for over a year when this first started, and since then tons of outrageous crap has been pulled on us or obfuscated and obstructed.

Time is about to have egg on their faces as they will have to scramble to catch up on the shenanigans they’ve given a free pass to under their watch while they nakedly abdicated their journalistic duty and ethics. Granted I know we all know that journalists, duty, and ethics in the same sentence is obsolete. They aren’t just irrelevant, they are downright useless. Watch the idiots pivot and squeal that Fukino was right, without giving the background machinations and panic, much less unlawful rule changes.

  21. The birth certificate issue goes to the question of whether Obama is legitimate. I would give you even money that the Chinese know the truth here, and are sitting on it. I believe someone in the Hawaiian government has secreted a copy to them for a large sum of money. If that is the case, they can blackmail him with it But if the truth is exposed, it loses its value for blackmail purposes. We need to get to the bottom of this. Really. This bastard is controlled by too many enemies of America–Soros, Red China, Imelt and god knows who else.

  22. De Borchgrave has written an article on the Muslim Brotherhood which starts this way:

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/apr/11/the-coming-geopolitical-upheaval/

Take the last two digits of the year in which you were born, then add the age you will be this year – and the result will be 111 for everyone born before 2000.

This year will also experience four unusual dates: 1/1/11, 1/11/11, 11/1/11/, 11/11/11.

October will have five Sundays, five Mondays and five Saturdays.

This happens only every 823 years. A geopolitical upheaval in Egypt sans war: every 59 years.

  23. Unfuckingbelievable.

The Brown Shirt State Mouthpieces believe that by sheer repetition, and by obdurate obfuscation, they can get away with dismissively brushing away valid questions about Obama’s birth certificate and legitimacy.

Hmmm, that’s what Obama does too.

Guess what? It ain’t gonna keep working. Too many people asking questions.

THEY ARE GOING TO HAVE TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF THE BIG FUCKING TRAIN COMING DOWN THE TRACKS. The little twigs they put on the tracks will not derail the train.

The only “log” they can put on the track is for DickFace to produce the real-deal long form. So far, it looks like he doesn’t have that log.

  24. The Obama administration now backs a role for the Brotherhood in a reformed Egyptian government on the condition that it “reject violence and recognizes democratic goals.” But it would be terminally naive to expect a friendly bunch of Muslim Brothers on good terms with U.S. diplomats. (De Bourgrave)
    ————————
That is exactly what the Obama Administration is: terminally naive–from Power to Rice to the three big Irishmen who send a thrill up Brian Williams leg. Clueless, inept and squandering our role in the world. And Obama himself is the stupidest of all.

  25. By the way, doing some research in old files today I came across another thing I had forgotten about. In Hawaii the Lt.Gov also serves as the Sec of State role, which also handles vital records. Even though I recall we had found a HI state law banning double positions for elected officials. Like they care as we can see. They have fresh cronies either elected or promoted now in place in the Gov, Lt.Gov/SecofState, the DOH, and Goddess knows where else offices and legal chambers to keep these records wrapped up tight in mumBO jumbo.

But, this rule we keep pointing out to them is going to leave a mark:
The registrant, his descendants, his authorized agent or upon order of a court of competent jurisdiction.

  26. And how can I ever forget The Hawaii Attorney General and Lt AG? The old ones and the new ones have been so deep in this they need to be arrested. They all do at this point.

  27. the Chinese know the truth here, and are sitting on it. I believe someone in the Hawaiian government has secreted a copy to them for a large sum of money.

    ===================

Listening to hillary clinton giving a speech at the dinner. She keeps calling Qatar “gutter”. Bad hillary. Bad!

    That’s ˈkɑːtɑr or Qatar.

This must be more of that smart power we were promised.

Some comments acknowledging Hillary was correct:

Well….”gutter” is, in fact, how they pronounce it. My son was stationed there.

    and

It’s usually pronounced either “gutter” or “cutter”. BTW, Al Udeid sucks!

    and

“Gutter” is actually right. It doesn’t look that way, but it’s either gutter or cutter. Many of us want to say KUH-tarrrr, but that’s incorrect. I’ve been there before on deployments.

    and

enough said. Hillary is correct. man up.

    and

Well hate to say so, but Hillary is right. It is pronounced “gutter.” I lived in Persisn Gulf area for years, you make that q a cross between k and g and say gutter.

  30. Juan Williams is starting to piss me off. Instead of asking did Boehner keep his campaign promise when he agreed to massive spending increases in December? OR– did Boehner squander his leverage when he agreed to an illusory cut in the budget? OR– did Boehner fail to show intestinal fortitude when dealing with the threat of a shutdown? OR– was Boehner betrayed when Obama has decided to push for massive tax increases and token spending cuts to deal with the deficit? OR–can Boehner stand up to the corrupt Obama? He asks the utterly irrelevant question of whether Boehner can stand up to the vile evil and vainglorious tea parties, that ingatius fatuous conjured up in the liberal imagination to frighten the gullible and reward the corrupt. Juan does not represent the country. When he poses that silly question, it becomes obvious that he is solely interested in protecting the lavish life styles of the beltway elites who are the real beneficiaries of Obama’s largesse.

Obama Loyalists Make Their Case–And It Is Weak
    Traitor Taylor Marsh

Obama continues to anger progressives in his party and has created a huge amount of running room to his left: He abandoned a single-payer health care option, he agreed to extend tax cuts to the rich, he has expanded the war in Afghanistan and, instead of keeping his campaign promise to close the detention center at Guantanamo Bay, he is going to resume military trials there. – Roger Simon, Politico

The weekend after Pres. Obama once again used women’s freedoms as a bargaining chip, just like he did on health care, he signs a proclamation declaring today “national equal pay day.” Buying people off after you’ve sold them out is what establishment politicians do.
Evidently, Pres. Obama, as well as the loyalists who lap up his comprising leadership style, think we’re supposed to care. Just because our President seems like a very nice guy, has a fantastic wife and family isn’t a reason to swoon over his signature.

Progressives, liberals and even Democrats need to start asking one question: What would the Tea Party do? As galling as it is there can no longer be any doubt that their fealty to principle has worked for them. No, they won’t win every battle, but they’ve earned clout. You don’t when you support a leader who sells you out time and again, with the announcement now that the anti-Social Security debt commission report will be where Obama begins when he delivers his speech on Wednesday, according to the Washington Post.

An earlier analysis of what this means:

The Social Security proposal would change the inflation measurement used to calculate cost-of-living adjustments for benefits, reducing annual increases. It immediately drew a withering assault from advocates for seniors, who already are upset that there will be no inflation increase for 2011, the second consecutive year. The plan also would raise the regular Social Security retirement age to 68 by about 2050 and to 69 in 2075. The full retirement age for those retiring now is 66. For those born in 1960 or after, the full retirement age is now 67. – Social Security, Medicare, Pentagon slashed by deficit commission

In a post entitled “our structural disadvantage,” an Obama loyalist quotes Digby who made much the same point I did yesterday saying: The fact is that there is no liberal establishment willing to validate liberalism. He goes on from there:

The intertubes are clogged with the choral wailing of frustrated liberals. But what’s strange is that it almost seems to come as a surprise to people. […] … .. So, I’m obviously troubled and concerned about our country and the future, but I am pretty clear-sighted about what our limitations are and why we have to settle for so little. Our problems are not one man’s fault. One man cannot fix them. But we also need to remember that we have one man standing between where we are now and an immeasurably worse situation. I think about that every day, too.

A surprise? Hardly. But is this guy kidding?

Forget liberal and progressive, Pres. Obama isn’t even standing up for basic, foundational Democratic principles.

But what the Obama loyalists won’t admit is that Pres. Obama is even worse than what liberals have had to deal with before, because he’s also adopting Republican economic models.

Not only are the Obama loyalists ready to campaign on If You Think Obama’s Bad Wait ‘Til You See What The Other Guy Will Do. But as gullible and fact free as their campaigning was in 2008, they also are going to try to float the unmitigated nonsense that Pres. Obama is the “one man standing between” that fate. It would be embarrassing, if it weren’t the biggest part of the problem for progressives.

These types of Democrats and progressives are willing to continue to enable the Democratic establishment, while propping up Pres. Obama to win a second term, even though he no longer represents the interests of the middle class or the poor, let alone progressives, which he was never going to do. I told you that years ago, while Obama loyalists said simply “he’s the one.” Now they’re saying, “he’s still the one,” even with proof he isn’t, which I warned he never would be.

The Obama blogs are back only this time they’re the establishment’s foot soldiers of 2012.

There is life beyond campaigning for Barack Obama, in 2012 for Democratic progressives and liberals, even if it’s not in Washington. But only if people refuse to stand with the man who is selling progressive principles out. He’ll have plenty of help from loyalists and will likely get elected anyway given the Republican circus on the Right. But he doesn’t have to humiliate you to do it and you don’t have to sell out progressive beliefs to get it done.

Ask the women of Washington, D.C. who Pres. Obama sold out, with few women in the room when it happened, which Sam Stein mentioned today on “Morning Joe.” What happened on the D.C. rider doesn’t bother the Obama loyalists, and it’s representative of Pres. Obama’s leadership on health care too. Women to him are a bargaining chip, while Republicans are waging war on us.

There’s a reason women split their vote equally in the midterms and it’s because it’s a jump ball on who represents us at all. There’s little reason to remain a Democrat anymore, except for nostalgia’s sake.

This isn’t 2008, with George W. Bush a fresh nightmare.
It’s 2012, with the latest fresh nightmare Pres. Barack Obama. The kicker is he’s unwilling and unable to make any Democratic case at all.

But anyone making the argument that Obama is the only thing standing between Republicans and selling your soul for someone who is enabling them is in a co-dependent political relationship that will get this country nowhere.

What would a Tea Party activist do with a leader who sold them out like Pres. Obama has done with, not liberal or progressive, but basic Democratic ideals? They sure as hell wouldn’t support him or her. They’d challenge the person, mobilize and organize, then lead in another direction.

  34. In his “Dreams” book, Barack said he found his birth certificate with a bunch of his high school stuff. He has it. I’m the last one to join in on conspiracy theories, they make me crazy. But the truth is, all the guy has to do is produce the one he’s already GOT and this will be over. One way or another.

Donald is starting to look really good to me. At least he’s DONE something besides jerk around in politics all his life. The rest of the Republican lineup makes me want to head for the hills.

And yes, Mrs. Smith, that video was awesome. As a longtime cat rescuer I was entranced. I’ve seen some amazing cats but that is one UN-SKITTISH kitteh! Either that or he was thinking of how many meals one of those things would make. Dolphins are so sweet. Too bad they are washing ashore in the Gulf, especially given our government and his media continue to pretend there’s no problem and eat your fish.

  35. Wbboei, there is this from Josh Kraushnaar who usually finds reasons to prop up Obama:

    http://www.nationaljournal.com/columns/against-the-grain/storm-clouds-ahead-for-obama-20110412

Since the beginning of the year, the conventional wisdom has held that President Obama looks like the favorite to win reelection.

The Republican presidential field is weak. Obama is triangulating, dealing with the GOP on tax and spending cuts.

His approval ratings hover close to 50 percent, and Republicans just unveiled a budget plan that would revamp Medicare, risking a backlash with seniors, a key GOP bloc.

But beneath the surface, there are red flags his reelection team faces—fundamental weaknesses that suggest a close presidential race and raise questions about Obama’s long-term political health.

    1. Growing economic pessimism. Despite the unemployment rate slowly improving, there are signs Americans are increasingly downbeat about the economy. The latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll showed that only 21 percent of respondents said they were better off economically than one year ago, with 31 percent saying things have gotten worse. The poll found as many voters thought the country was headed on the wrong track than at any other time in Obama’s presidency. The poll of 1,000 adults was conducted March 31 to April 4, and has a 3-point error margin.

A separate Pew Research Center poll of 1,507 adults, conducted March 30-April 3, finds a similarly pessimistic view of the future. The proportion of Americans rating the current economic conditions as poor has jumped 11 points since February, from 42 percent to 53 percent. A 54 percent majority believes it will take a “long time before the economy recovers”—up 12 points in the last two months. Needless to say, these aren’t the signs of a public anticipating Morning in America.

And other economic indicators outside of the unemployment rate suggest storm clouds. The unemployment rate reduction hasn’t been accompanied by any increase in labor force participation. According to Brookings Institution economist Gary Burtless, the number of long-term unemployed has been steadily increasing over the past year. Income continues to stagnate—real hourly wages have fallen 1 percent from October 2010 to February 2011. Rising gas prices aren’t helping.

So it’s hard to see how Obama improves his standing markedly, particularly on a campaign that will likely center on the economy.

    2. Issues fought on GOP turf. It was striking to see Obama strategist David Plouffe hit the Sunday talk shows proclaiming a message of deficit reduction—praising the significant cuts in the fiscal 2011 spending deal that Democrats previously called draconian. But it’s a sign Republicans have won the argument over spending. Two years after signing the stimulus, Obama has accepted the GOP’s austerity agenda. [snip]

But it’s far from a guarantee the political burden will fall entirely on Republicans. When Republicans took their lumps on Social Security and Democrats spent significant political capital on health care, it was when they controlled both the White House and Congress—and bore the consequences of overreach. Health care reform was already law when Republicans ran against it. Any future fiscal reforms will be the product of compromise and negotiation.

And it’s harder to score political points when the president is proposing his own entitlement cuts, and is revisiting raising taxes on the wealthy—an issue the party retreated from during last year’s lame duck. Voters will be choosing between higher taxes or fewer benefits—neither a particularly palatable option.

    3. Poll problems. Even as Republican congressional leaders and governors are making frontal attacks on entitlements and pension programs, there’s no sign Obama is gaining any traction with groups disproportionately affected by these positions.

While Republican strategists fear the cuts could do irreparable harm to gains the party made last year with seniors and blue-collar voters, Obama isn’t making up any ground among them. The latest Pew poll found Obama’s approval rating stuck at a dismal 34 percent among white women without a college education, and is 35 percent among white men without a college education. Meanwhile, Obama has some work to do in winning over seniors. His approval rating among white seniors is at 38 percent in the Pew poll.

And the White House can’t be too optimistic when looking at Obama’s standing in the key battleground states. Obama’s approval rating is at 42 percent in Pennsylvania, according to a new Public Policy Polling (D) survey. His favorability rating in the Keystone State was even lower, at 41 percent, in a separate mid-March Franklin and Marshall poll. It’s a Democratic-leaning state, but one filled with blue-collar voters and seniors. Winning re-election without Pennsylvania’s 20 electoral votes would be difficult.

In Florida, two polls conducted this month by Mason-Dixon and Quinnipiac, peg Obama’s job approval rating at 43 and 44 percent respectively. A Public Policy Polling survey of Florida voters, conducted at the end of March, shows it at 48 percent. In Ohio, a Quinnipiac poll this month found him slightly underwater, with a 47 percent approval and 48 percent disapproval.

Nineteen months is a lifetime in politics, and these numbers will move as the presidential campaign gets under way. But given the fundamental challenges the president faces with the economy, winning over constituencies resistant to his message, and taking the lead in advancing his own agenda, Republicans might not need a flawless challenger to give Obama a serious run for his money.

The left wing National Journal writer said the same thing, in a lot more words. Other states issue these records as a matter of course and Hawaii choosing not to do so at the very time pressure is being put on their favorite son may have more to do with very lax laws that allowed anyone to record a birth whether born in state or not.
    _________________________

Admin: The embolden part of Ms statement is TRUE. However, a critical part of this information has been left out and not included in the clap-trap Hawaiian officials are peddling.

In 1961 it was common practice for Americans living outside of the US wanting to register a newborn could in fact register the birth, no matter where they were born in HI.

However, there is a piece of information missing from that seemingly casual factoid. The info, the second part critical to that equation is as follows… “The American parent, in this case Stanley Dunham, wishing to have the “child”, in this case Barack H. Obama, recognized as an American citizen, MUST go back to the US within 3 to 5 years after the birth of the “child” and re-register the “child” on the US mainland, amending the registration paperwork created in HI at the time of the child’s birth. If this final test is not completed in a timely fashion, then the HI registration falls away as the “child’s” claim to US Natural Born Citizenship.

There was yet another mechanism in place following US Rule of Law for recognition of US Citizenship by a “child” born of a US Citizen in a foreign country “IF” for some reason, the US parent was unable to complete that test for US Citizenship… i.e. because of death before the time-line’s expiration or circumstances beyond the child’s control to be in compliance with US citizenship laws…

There was one last caveat or safety net in place giving the child born of a US parent one more last chance to insure their US citizenship and Natural Born status would be intact. It is/was this:

“The child wanting to maintain their NBC status would have to return to the US and re-register themselves as a NBC providing all the iformation listing their registration from the State of HI before their 18th birthday.”
    ___________

At any rate, this information, an important piece of the puzzle surrounding Obama’s birth can be checked out and verified for factual accuracy. I read this while I was doing the research during the 08′ campaign when Obama’s birth first came into question. I spent many weeks researching every avenue related to this subject and committed to these facts that may or may not exist on the web anymore. However, it should be available knowledge contained in the archives of Hawaiian libraries.
    _____________

    side notes:

From the research I found at the same time.. According to reports I read:

….. Stanley Dunham had no record of a return to the states confirmed on her Passport within the 3-5 yr period to insure Obama’s NBC status.

…. There is no record of Obama’s return to the US before his 18th birthday on his Passport or any record of a new re-certification of his US citizenship or Natural Born Status…

  41. “In his “Dreams” book, Barack said he found his birth certificate with a bunch of his high school stuff. He has it. I’m the last one to join in on conspiracy theories, they make me crazy. But the truth is, all the guy has to do is produce the one he’s already GOT and this will be over. One way or another.”

Well, as a private investigator said in his excellent piece he published recently: “Welcome to the party, pal.”
    http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/35298
The unraveling of Barry Soetoro, a/k/a Barack Hussein Obama II

What Obama said was that he found his birth certificate folded up with his vaccination papers. That was a huge tip off. Turns out that in the parts of the world he spent his formative years that the customs over there for schooling are to have their birthcerts and vaccination papers stapled together, and the papers go with the student. Here in the U.S. our immunization records are kept at our schools. How does he have a copy of them? What country issued the birth certificate? Why didn’t he just release that one indeed? Why is there a full blown damage control propaganda piece out by Isikoff quoting that Obama was testy in early 2007 to have to sign a request for a birth certification to quell *the Issue*… that didn’t come up until 2008? At first Hawaii claimed they released a cert to Obama in 2008 until they had to backtrack from the alleged datestamp bleeding through saying JUN 6 2007. Interestingly their spokesbot Okubo let it slip in 2008 that she had gotten a copy of her own COLB the year before. That would make that 2007 and a possible template. Although the website was found that generated fill in the blank birth certs for all the states, (now scrubbed) that they were able to trace back to the whole Daily Kos crew, which were in cahoots with the unqualified operatives at Factcheck. And all versions have evolved and changed immensely on all the main 4 sites as they scrambled to clean up their sloppy breadcrumb trail forgeries. To paraphrase Trump: It’s a terrible forgery.

As far as this being all over if he just shows a legitimate birth cert, not so fast. That’s just the beginning source document. If they can find one. One lie proved on that and he’s done. IF his father is truly O Sr, and IF it shows he was born in HI, then the real battle for our country begins since the Founding Fathers are rolling in their graves to have fought two wars to get away from Perpetual Allegiance to the British Crown, and any foreign influence or DIVIDED ALLEGIANCES in the presidency. He has never ever neversaid he’s a Natural Born Citizen. (save the one ballot cert he signed in AZ with that language, more fraud. Perjury fraud) His site claims he’s a “native citizen” and born as a British Subject. His minions say he’s native-born. They all avoid the true requirement: NBC. The Avoiders, that is what way too many Americans have become. You are one. And I stopped commenting at your blog because of the oppression of avoiding this adult conversation. Still love ya though. But I lost my sense of humor almost 3 years ago and I take this issue and our country seriously.

The concept of natural born Citizen goes back to the Greeks if not longer, and falls under Natural Law that is the foundation of our Constitution when they rejected British common law with their very blood. We have the Founders own words on this on how they started with a clean slate, on the laws of the land they were creating anew. Being born in country of citizen parents = the only NBC’s possible is a Universal Law most nations follow to this day, which is outside of Postive Law (man-made statutes). The meaning is found outside of the Constitution precisely because it was so well known all over the world, and inalienable. If you go to the gov sites listing all the ways to obtain citizenship, riddle us why they list every combination of status you can think of: one parent, alien parent, overseas, naturalizations, etc, except for 2 citizen parents AND born on US territory? Because there is no doubt when you are a completely natural born Citizen with zero other allegiances nor subject to the jurisdiction of a foreign sovereignty. None. A dual or poly citizen can never be a NBC. We don’t need to have it “defined”, the Founders and several Supreme Court cases already defined it, we merely need to have it re-recognized as it was meant to be and has always meant. And enforce it with Obama/Dunham/Soetoro/Soebarkah or whoever the fuck he is.

Do I sound a tad pissed? You betcha. Fed up. Good luck to the sites that Avoided this and ridiculed it, in finding ways to eat shit and try to write about the details you all ignored to the detriment of our future safety. You see we aren’t afraid of race riots if he is revealed and busted if it’s finally addressed three years too late, we’re more worried about the brewing 2nd Revolution if it is NOT addressed.

Obama may be telling the Truth in this respect.. (you know a broken clock is right twice a day)? If as I mentioned in my post today at 7:20 am, certain particulars were necessary to insure Obama’s Natural Born citizenship status. And, it makes sense to me now that the necessary particulars I have laid out end to end, required at that time for a US citizen having a child born while living overseas never materialized. Because Stanley Dunham, the anthropologist, first of all was Anti-American passing her hate and resentment of America along to her son Barack, ensuring he learn this from her knee.

So, how COULD THERE BE any further paper work such as the Long Form of his Birth Certificate based on the facts I uncovered in 08?

The final conclusion ending with… Obama cannot be considered a Natural Born Citizen because the requirements necessary to be filed at that time in a timely fashion according to US Law, were never fulfilled.

  47. St Paul, MN is too close to Chicago and the combine, and the only reason Tim Pawlenty is running is because, on the 1000:1 shot he gets the nomination, he will lose to Obama.

I think when Trump announces to the world that he will consider running as a independent if he loses the republican nomination, he is really talking to the crooks who cheated Hillary out of the nomination and telling them don’t even think about it.

  48. I think when Trump announces to the world that he will consider running as a independent if he loses the republican nomination
    ————————–
Now that is leverage. If the polls show that Trump appeals to independents (for whom fixing the country is more important than blind party loyalty) whereas their chosen candidate–most likely Romney does not, and given the fact that Trump can attract big money in his own right, then the leaders of the Republican Party will be faced with a come to Jesus moment, i.e. whether they–much less the country can stand four more years of Obama. Either they believe their campaign rhetoric, i.e. that Obama is a FAILURE, or they do not. Time will tell.

  49. LA Times lets rip on Obama

Why Obama was forced to give today’s deficit speech

    http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2011/04/obama-deficit-speech.html

If President Obama is in political trouble, just wait a minute. He’ll give a speech. He thinks speech-making is his best skill and clearly prefers campaigning over presidenting at a desk.

Oh, look! Obama’s giving another speech this afternoon.

It’s at George Washington University, the administration’s new favorite homefield speech-giving place where Obama had Hillary Clinton talk about foreign policy a few weeks ago.

Obama has looked distracted in recent weeks. He launched a war in Libya while taking his family around South America. For more than a week Obama had Clinton do the public explaining and take the “Say What, a Third War?” heat for the guy who beat her in the 2008 Democratic primaries by arguing against such irrelevant foreign conflicts.

Nine days after the first Tomahawks blew something up in Tripoli, a besieged….
…Obama finally talked about how it was suddenly in America’s interest to end the 42-year reign of a notorious bad guy. Obama said he was worried that Kadafi would kill innocent civilians, although worse threats to civilians go on every day in countless lands without U.S. military intervention.

This includes Syria, where scores have died to government bullets in recent weeks and Obama only sent out his press secretary Jay Carney to strike fear into the heart of President Bashar al-Assad by issuing two stern warnings.

Last week when the United States government faced an historic shutdown, Capt. Quixote was off in Philadelphia talking of windmills before speaking at anJohn Boehner and Harry Reid talk Budget 4-7-11 Al Sharpton gala in New York.

When Democratic Sen. Harry Reid and Republican House Speaker John Boehner worked out a last-minute budget deal, Obama himself made the late-night announcement to try to take ownership.

The next day he made a brief but weird visit to the Lincoln Memorial to explain to some startled tourists who hadn’t asked that the place would have been closed down but for his budget brokering.

Here’s Obama ‘s problem: Once again, he’s lost control of the capitol’s political narrative.

The bully pulpit is a powerful presidential tool — if the chief executive is talking of relevant things. But Obama keeps sidetracking himself into all these areas of society that he so wants to fix, even though there are worse problems elsewhere.

For a long time Obama talked of little but healthcare and financial reforms, while polls showed Americans wanted jobs. He got his healthcare bill, but dozens of Democrats got unemployed from Congress.

When Americans wanted an explanation for a war over Libya’s sand, Obama was urging Brazil to drill off its shores and toasting every presidente within sight.

As Americans realized the Democrat majorities had not written a budget for the current fiscal year when in control throughout 2010, Obama was denouncing schoolyard bullies and calling for more college educations, something even Rep. Ron Paul might endorse.

Whenever the president acknowledges the budget deficit and the $14+ trillion national debt, he says yes, yes, of course, we have to cut waste. He then proceeds to provide a long list of things we need to “invest” more in like education, bridges, green energy and protecting “the most vulnerable” in our society.

Obama doesn’t realize how many millions of Americans consider themselves vulnerable today, even with jobs and a home for now. In Philadelphia when one man dared to ask about the rising price of gas for his commuObama visits the Lincoln Memorial 4-9-11te, the president suggested he trade-in for a new car. This from the green president who took a 17-vehicle motorcade of limos and SUVs to admire clean cars last month. Not even one symbolic electric job.

The result of such disconnection is that last week there was no-nada-zip talk about his investing. The parade had moved on without its presidential drum major.

Every word of Washington’s political discussion was about cuts in the budget, exactly and only what Republicans wanted to debate. In a town where all-powerful presidents have set the political agenda, the speaker from Ohio, who gets mocked for his emotions and tan, was driving the discussions with well-mannered aplomb.

Hence, again the perceived need for another Obama speech today. He’ll try to recapture control by adjusting the subject: Yes, yes the deficit is bad, though not as bad as you-know-which party makes it out to be. We do need to trim it with some cuts over time. But what we really need is more money to get stuff done.

You know, those rich people with the money to create new jobs? Let’s take some more from them in taxes and Social Security assessments. Not from you! From them. Who’s gonna oppose somebody else paying more taxes?

Obama’s recent speeches have been lo-cal on substance, heavy on swell-sounding calls for someone to do something — such as increase domestic oil production. The media reports. The people listen. They nod. And very few point out that, wait a minute, the guy talking is the one who can make that happen. So, why isn’t he doing instead of talking all the time?

Obama now hopes to redirect the debate off budget cutting onto what he thinks is safer political ground for him, end tax breaks for the wealthy few. Even though, starting tomorrow, he’ll be hitting up that same crowd of Richie Riches for the $1 billion he wants to buy a second term for four more years of this.

  54. Ariana: The Progressive Pariah: Blogger Files $105 Million Class Action Law Suit

    Posted by LaborUnionReport (Profile)

It seems Arianna Huffington has something in common with Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker: They’ve both incurred the wrath of the Left. You may remember barely a month ago when, following Arianna Huffington’s $315 million sale of her website to AOL, a group of unpaid artists demanded their “fair share” of the pie. Arianna refused to negotiate—wouldn’t budge, in fact—so, the artists went on strike. Shortly afterward, the Writers Guild (an affiliate of the Communications Workers of America) called on the (paid and unpaid) writers and bloggers at Huffington Post to honor the e-picket line by withholding their work.

Well, e-striking Huffington Post has failed—miserably. Progressive bloggers have refused to honor their union brethren’s picket line. Apparently, “solidarity(!)” only goes so far outside of Madison’s city limits, which Ms. Huffington clearly knew when she dared progs to follow the union’s lead and honor the e-picketline:

“The idea of going on strike when no one really notices,” Huffington said. “Go ahead, go on strike.”

At first, it seemed as though Huffington and her fellow capitalists corporate heads had the union and the unpaid bloggers beat. However, on Tuesday, the unpaid bloggers did something that so many Americans do when they feel aggrieved…they filed a lawsuit.

Today, a group of bloggers led by union organizer and journalist Jonathan Tasini filed a class-action suit against the Huffington Post, founderArianna Huffington, and AOL, which acquired the news-and-blogs site in February.

    [snip]

Tasini was also the lead plaintiff in New York Times Co. vs. Tasini, a lawsuit over the rights of papers to license the work of freelancers for distribution via electronic databases. That case was decided in favor of the plaintiffs.

AOL has been sued over its use of unpaid labor before: In 1999, two volunteers who served as chatroom moderators under its “Community Leader” program sued, saying they were essentially being used as workers in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act. That suit was eventually resolved with a $15 million settlement.

Within the lawsuit (a copy of which is here), Tasini (the lead plaintiff) claims that the content he and the other bloggers (”classes”) contributed that Huffington Post derived revenue from is “worth at least $105 million to the Defendants.” Tasini has also set up a website, aptly called HuffingtonPostLawsuit.com. [Of course.]

For Tasini, however, the dispute is apparently more than the money. It’s personal.

“In my view, the Huffington Post’s bloggers have essentially been turned into modern-day slaves on Arianna Huffington’s plantation,” he said. “She wants to pocket the tens of millions of dollars she reaped from the hard work of those bloggers….This all could have been avoided had Arianna Huffington not acted like the Wal-Marts, the Waltons, Lloyd Blankfein, which is basically to say, ‘Go screw yourselves, this is my money.’”

    [snip]

“We are going to make Arianna Huffington a pariah in the progressive community,” Tasini vowed. “No one will blog for her. She’ll never [be invited to] speak. We will picket her home. We’re going to make it clear that, until you do justice here, your life is going to be a living hell.”

Tasini also had harsh words for the progs who continue to cross the e-picket line.

Tasini, who was a Huffington Post blogger for more than five years, says he will personally urge other bloggers he knows to stop contributing. “Anybody blogging for the Huffington Post now is a scab,” he says. “They’re a strike breaker. They’re producing content for somebody who is attacking workers.”

According to a post on Huffington Post, the suit is without merit.

AOL said the lawsuit is without merit.

“As we’ve said before, our bloggers use our platform – as well as other unpaid group blogs across the web – to connect and help their work be seen by as many people as possible,” said AOL spokesman Mario Ruiz in a statement. “It’s the same reason hundreds of people go on TV shows to promote their views and ideas. HuffPost bloggers can cross-post their work on other sites, including their own.”

Besides the obvious comparison to Scott Walker’s alleged “attacks” on working people, another one of the interesting back stories to this whole episode of Left vs. Left infighting is the sheer irrelevance of the union in this case.

Were it not for the lawsuit being filed, without a doubt, the e-strike and e-picketing would be nothing more than fodder for those of us who find the sheer hypocrisy of the Left rather amusing. Yet, even on Tuesday,Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) Executive Director Lowell Peterson was trying to make a case for his union on the AFL-CIO blog, describing it as “both a militant union and a professional association.”

I think our success rests on our ability to be both a traditional, militant union whose members are willing and able to strike and, at the same time, a guild that offers a sense of community and professional solidarity.

While that may be true in some cases, it certainly is not in the case of the Huffington Post. Win or lose, it is taking a lawsuit (which could have been filed by any of the HuffPo “slaves” without a union) to give the contributors a sense of hope for their “fair share” of Arianna’s millions.

This begs the question, if workers have the ability to file lawsuits, charges, or engage in other activities without a union—which they do more and more frequently—why does one need to pay union dues when they have the resources to do it themselves? In other words, why buy the cow, when you can get the milk for free?

  56. Deficit Speech Will Be Lightning Rod
Lawmakers in Both Parties Are Likely to Fault Obama’s Approach Wednesday

WASHINGTON — Barack Obama will describe his plans for long-term deficit reduction Wednesday, in a move likely to kick off a months-long debate with Republicans while alienating some members of his own Democratic Party.

In a midday speech in Washington, Mr. Obama will propose a plan that includes cuts to entitlement programs such as Medicare, limits on military spending and an overhaul of the tax system designed to bring in more revenue. To pre-empt criticism from lawmakers, Mr. Obama is hosting congressional leaders at the White House on Wednesday morning to preview his goals.

    Associated Press
It’s unclear if President Barack Obama, seen at the White House on Tuesday, will make detailed proposals.

Mr. Obama is expected to praise the work of a deficit-reduction commission he created last year, which proposed a series of tax, spending and entitlement-program changes that would reduce the deficit by roughly $4 trillion over 10 years. He is also expected to pledge support for a bipartisan group of six senators working on legislation that would implement the panel’s recommendations.

People familiar with the matter said he wouldn’t fully endorse either of those approaches, but instead would lay out his own formula for deficit reduction. A key question is how detailed he will be in the speech. Mr. Obama didn’t include proposals for long-term reductions in entitlement spending in his formal budget plan in February.

The White House described Mr. Obama’s vision for reducing the deficit as one “based on the values of shared prosperity and shared responsibility” and said his speech would lay out four steps to achieve a “balanced” approach. Those are: “keeping discretionary spending low,” cutting the trajectory of defense spending, overhauling the tax code and cutting health care costs “while strengthening Medicare and Medicaid.”

While Mr. Obama is expected to address Medicare changes, he is unlikely to wade far into Social Security, a program the White House argues doesn’t have an immediate impact on the deficit. White House officials have said, however, that there should be a discussion about how to make Social Security solvent for the long term.

“The president’s proposal will build off of the deficit reduction measures included in his 2012 budget and will borrow from the recommendations of the bipartisan Fiscal Commission he created,” a White House official said in advance of the speech.

The speech, which the White House has billed as a major address, will be Mr. Obama’s first big step into the debate over taming long-term deficits.

In the meantime, House Republicans have taken the lead by releasing their own proposal for long-term deficit reduction, which they plan to bring to the House floor for a vote as early as this week.

Alan Simpson, a former GOP senator who was co-chairman of the White House’s deficit commission last year, said that if Mr. Obama’s speech lacked details, it could be widely panned.

Damian Paletta, Kelsey Hubbard and David Weidner discuss where the big cuts are coming from in the deal to keep the U.S. government funded for the rest of fiscal 2011 and what President Obama is likely to say in his deficit speech on Wednesday.

With power in Washington split between the two parties, the odds aren’t good that any detailed, long-term plan can be enacted this year. One alternative to passing a broad plan would be to enact a framework for deficit reduction with targets, details of which would be filled in after the 2012 election.

But many House Republicans say they won’t vote to raise the government’s debt ceiling in coming weeks without concrete steps to reduce the long-term deficit, which could force changes long before the election.

The deficit this year will be $1.5 trillion to $1.65 trillion, and the government has $14.2 trillion in accumulated debt. Rising health-care costs, retirement programs for baby boomers and the interest the nation must pay on existing borrowing all are expected to drive debt higher.

A key dividing line between the two approaches, and the two parties, is certain to be taxes. White House officials have said any effort to address deficits must be broad in scope, bipartisan and include higher revenues through changes to the tax code.

Many Republicans, meanwhile, say tax increases are a nonstarter, and the House GOP budget, drawn up by Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R., Wis.), lays out a deficit-reduction strategy without additional taxes.

“From my point of view, taxes are not on the table, because we don’t have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem,” said Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.).

On the left, the mere anticipation that Mr. Obama will propose scaling back the entitlement programs that Democrats have long championed has sent some members of the party scrambling. Many liberals oppose making cuts to Medicare and say changes in Social Security shouldn’t be part of any conversation about reducing the deficit, because they do not see that program as a major part of the nation’s fiscal problem.

A coalition of 300 mostly liberal-leaning groups sent a letter to the White House on Tuesday urging Mr. Obama to wall off Social Security from any discussion of the deficit.

Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D., Md.), the ranking Democrat on the House Budget Committee, said the core of the president’s speech isn’t likely to revolve around firm numbers. “What we’re really seeing here is an effort to take some greater control over the debate,” he said.

White House press secretary Jay Carney refused to provide details on the speech Tuesday, but said Mr. Obama’s approach included “the willingness to take on the sacred cows in your own party.”

  57. Confessions, confessions, but Nancy and Larson are mum:
Hoyer joins Obama in calling past vote on debt ceiling ‘a mistake’
By Russell Berman – 04/12/11 06:45 PM ET
House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer has joined President Obama in conceding that he blundered by voting against an increase to the government’s debt ceiling. “I have voted against the debt limit in the past. That was a mistake,” Hoyer (Md.), the second-ranking House Democrat, said in an unprompted admission to reporters on Tuesday. His comment came two days after White House adviser David Plouffe said Obama made a mistake by voting against raising the debt ceiling when he was a senator. Democrats are urging Republicans not to jeopardize the economy and the full faith and credit of the nation with talk of voting against raising the $14 trillion debt ceiling before the borrowing limit is reached in July. But the Democrats’ own votes against raising that ceiling during George W. Bush’s presidency are coming back to haunt them. The National Republican Senatorial Committee attacked Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), who voted against raising the ceiling in 2007, for “flip-flopping” on the issue when she called Republicans “profoundly irresponsible” for threatening to do the same thing. Hoyer said he voted with other Democrats against lifting the debt ceiling when Republicans were in the majority to protest what he said were irresponsible GOP fiscal policies, such as tax cuts for the wealthy. In the Senate, a spokesman for Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Reid has previously stated that he “believes he should have voted differently.” Other Democratic senators stopped short of declaring their previous votes a mistake. Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) voted against the debt-limit increase in 2006 “to demand a course correction from the Bush fiscal policies that had turned record budget surpluses into record deficits with no end in sight,” Kerry spokeswoman Whitney Smith said. “He’ll cast this upcoming vote after considering the best way to influence our economic direction and after seeing what’s attached to the bill.” Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) also defended his earlier vote. “Sen. Lieberman stands by that vote because he believed the [Bush administration] failed to demonstrate that they were going to take serious steps to reduce the national debt which today threatens our economic future,” spokesman Jeremy Kilpatrick said. “The 2006 vote was the fourth time the debt ceiling was raised during the Bush administration.” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Caucus Chairman John Larson (D-Conn.) did not respond to requests for comment. Assistant Democratic Leader James Clyburn (S.C.) said through a spokeswoman: “My vote was in protest of Bush’s unwise and obscene tax cuts. The circumstances today are entirely different.” Obama voted against raising the debt ceiling as an Illinois senator in 2006….

yeah, while the rest of the world economies are organizing without him.

SANYA, China (AP) — The leaders of the world’s largest emerging economies gather this week in southern China for what could be a watershed moment in their quest for a bigger say in the global financial architecture.

Thursday’s summit comes at a crucial moment for the expanded five-member bloc known as the BRICS, which groups Brazil, Russia, India, China, and, for the first time, South Africa.

Chinese President Hu Jintao, Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and South African President Jacob Zuma will attend.

With the G-20 group of major economies seeking to remake parts of the global financial architecture, it’s time for the BRICS to test whether they can overcome internal differences and act as a bloc pursuing common interests.

“The key priority is for the BRICS to put creative ideas on the table rather than just react defensively to proposals put forward by the advanced economies,” said Cornell University economics professor Eswar Prasad, former head of the International Monetary Fund’s China Division.

That is possibly because he was probably born in Canada as I read some where that his mother was seen in Washington state after a couple of days of his birth. For what ever reason, she went to Canada or even Kenya and delivered the baby there and came back to Washington state and his grand parents announced his birth in Hawaii to confer US citizenship on him.

Or he may be the illegitimate son of Stanley Dunham Sr and another AA woman or the communist Davis as some allege. What ever it is he does not have a foolproof BC. So there is no way he can produce it. He wants to stone wall this issue as long as he can with the help of our ever obsequious so called great free press of the United States.

As his birth is not recorded any where, he can not produce his BC. That is the reason Hawaii Governor could not find his BC because it is not there nor it is recorded in any Hospital in Hawaii. With all his power, if he could not find, how could Obama produce it? No way.
His only way out is some how to stone wall it and pray that time passes by quckly until 2012 or 2016 when no body bothers him. Trump must be his biggest nightmare now and cursing him.

More over Natural Born Citizen is one who is born on US soil to two US Citizens with no dual citizenship. The reason being that the US President should be loyal to one and only country that is USA. If he is born to Obama Sr, as he claims to be, then definitely he has multiple loyalties to UK,Kenya, Indonesia and USA and clearly ineligible to be POTUS.

For reasons known only to SCOTUS, they are helping this imposter. probably they are thinking they helped elect Bush Jr selected by Rethugs over the real winner Gore, they want to make amends to Dimocrats by making their selected candidate Obama POTUS. 67. Clinton Rejects ‘One-Size Fits All’ Approach in Middle East

    Jerome Socolovsky | Washington April 13, 2011

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Tuesday gave one of the most comprehensive speeches yet by the Obama administration on the recent changes in the Middle East. She said America strongly supports democratization in the region, but rejected what she called a “one-size fits all” approach.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke at the U.S.-Islamic World Forum, an annual meeting that is being held in Washington for the first time.

The audience included dignitaries and business leaders from Muslim countries as well former American diplomats.

Clinton told them that what she called “the long Arab winter” has begun to thaw.

“For the first time in decades, there is a real opportunity for lasting change. A real opportunity for people to have their voices heard and their priorities addressed,” she said.

She said young Arabs have shown the world that they share universal human aspirations for freedom, dignity and opportunity.

“But these young people have inherited a region that in many ways is unprepared to meet their growing expectations,” she added.

She cited unemployment, poverty, corruption and a lack of women’s and minority rights as factors holding back the region.

Clinton said President Barack Obama would give a major speech in the coming weeks about the Middle East.

The secretary of state said the Obama administration had reoriented U.S. policy in the Middle East to focus more on people and less on governments. But she said the response to the democracy movements would vary from country to country.

“We understand that a ‘one-size fits all approach’ doesn’t make sense in such a diverse region at such a fluid time,” she said.

The administration has been criticized for soft-pedaling its response to democratic aspirations in some countries – such as Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states – where U.S. interests might be most affected.

Clinton said the United States wants to develop stronger bonds with people themselves, with billions of dollars going to private sector investments and economic assistance to help transitional democracies overcome early challenges.

But she said America’s core interests have not changed. She said those include resolving long-standing conflicts, promoting human rights, countering Iran’s threats and defeating al-Qaida and other extremist groups.

  70. JUDGE ANDREW NAPOLITANO: Does the government work for us or do we work for the government? Would you hire an employee who claimed he was saving you $38 billion, when in reality he was costing you more money than in the previous year of your business and you still needed to borrow $1 trillion just to stay afloat? You know what’s coming.

Tonight, the federal government and your money. Here we go again. I know this sounds ridiculous, but you should not be surprised.

Shortly before midnight last Friday, President Obama, House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner and Senate Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid announced that the White House and the Congress had reached a stunning deal on cutting the federal government budget by $38 billion.

The president grumbled that the cuts were too deep, but he could live with them. Speaker Boehner grumbled that the cuts were not deep enough, but were deeper than he originally sought. Sen. Reid dispatched his favorite attack dog — that would be the personality-challenged New York Sen. Chuck Schumer — to threaten that the Democrats would cut no longer, since the Republicans were controlled by extremists. That’s the same Sen. Schumer who revealed in a telephone call with reporters — that he didn’t know was being taped — that the Senate Democratic Caucus — which is all of the Senate Democrats — had instructed him to refer to Tea Party Republicans as extremists.

The begrudging announcement that a government shutdown had been averted came as a surprise at the last minute, and conventional wisdom has it that when you settle a dispute like this, and each side is unhappy, you probably did a good job.

But there is nothing conventional about this agreement.

First, a little background. According to the Constitution and federal law and a 230-year-old tradition, the president proposes a budget sufficiently in advance of the fiscal year in which he wants to spend the money and the House of Representatives approves, modifies or disapproves. Then, whatever the House has voted on goes to the Senate, then back to the House, then to the president for his signature.

The process is supposed to produce a budget months in advance of the fiscal year so that federal agencies, so that people who sell things to the government, so that the financial community will have time to prepare for what the government will spend.

There is currently before the Congress two budget proposals.

One is for the remainder of this current fiscal year, which ends on September 30, 2011 and the other is a budget for the fiscal year that begins the next day, on October 1. As you can see, the government is woefully late for the 2011 budget, since we’re halfway through that fiscal year. It is for the remainder of this 2011 fiscal year that the so-called deal that cut $38 billion was struck.

So, what did they cut $38 billion from? They cut it from what the president wanted to spend. And he wanted to spend far more in 2011 than he did spend in 2010. Thus, even with the so-called cut, spending for the remainder of 2011 will increase, not decrease.

As Sen. Rand Paul told me on this show last night, “Only in Washington can a budget that spends more than it did a year before, [and] with a larger deficit, be portrayed as cutting.” He’s right. And the Republicans who boasted that they cut $38 billion and the Democrats who condemned them for doing so are all playing a shell game.

America, we are on the precipice of a very deep abyss. It is an enormous hole that needs to be filled with $14.3 trillion and the president just wants to dig that hole deeper. Since Barack Obama became president he has increased the debt by $4 trillion. In the next six months, he wants to increase it by another trillion. And in the 2012 fiscal year, he wants to borrow another 1.7 trillion.

America, the White House and its enablers in Congress are out of control. They have tricked even well-intentioned folks into believing that the economy will collapse if we don’t borrow more. That’s nonsense. The economy will tank if we do borrow more. And it is utterly immoral, illegal and unconstitutional for the government to borrow when it has neither the intention nor the means to repay the loan.

Let me modify that. The government does repay its loans. It just does so with more loans.

Would you hire the people who run the federal government to run your business or your household or even your checkbook? The answer is obvious. And that leaves another obvious question: Why are these people running the government?

A contributor with the username “Danae” posted on FreeRepublic.com a copy of her long-form birth certificate originally issued in 1969, but which the Hawaii Department of Health mailed to her Sept. 28, 2010, after she paid a $10 fee.

To verify her transaction, she also posted a receipt she was sent Sept. 28, 2010, by the Hawaii state agency.

These are the same people who tell us that a modest reduction off a proposed budget which still results in a massive net increase is a budget cut. After all their rhetoric about cutting the cost of government, not passing the debts along to our children, the loss of our sovereignty to China, when they have the leverage what do they actually do. They fold like a cheap watch. As Hillary once said, pay no attention to what people in politics say–instead watch what they do.

    Interesting and Prophetic . . .

    Sir Winston Churchill 1899

    Churchill on Islam

“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries, improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.

A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement, the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

Individual Muslims may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it.

No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.”

I am following keenly the B.C. issue from 2008…

I remember that story floating around about Ms. Dunham being sent to a home for unwed mothers in Vancouver to have and then give up her child. She supposed left with the baby and showed up at some high school friends parents house.

Maybe there is a long form BC completed by medical staff and it is not in Hawaii. The Vancouver vital statistics office offers many type of birth certificates. One is-“Certified Copy of Birth Registration
The certified copy of birth registration is a copy of the original birth registration completed at the time of birth. This document is rarely needed by citizens and are generally only required for court purposes and cannot be used for identification.” Note that it is needed for court purposes as in determining relationship, inheritance or citizenship. This may also be the clearest and concise explanation of exactly what Trump is asking Obama to produce to clear up questions.

Yep. That is exactly what is becoming apparent and has the Hawaii official freaking out. All they may have is a short form birth registration based upon affidavit of a family member for Obama. And if they did this for anyone who wandered in off the street it would cast serious doubt on validity of all of their birth records and would create a huge mess. This is about more than just Obama.

So we are looking at potentially two mega scandals:

    1. Obama’s outside birth was registered in Hawii;
    2. Hawii, the newly minted state wanted to increase its population so it could get more federal funds and other perks as a new state, so they started registering outside births without much verification.

Funny how those two events should happen contemporaneously. There is no such thing as a coincidence. Also if a hospital had his birth records, would they not proudly come out and say here is where he was born. They could do it independently of any legal restrictions, right?

  79. Great post, Admin.

Obama pivots, eyes Medicare changes, tax increases

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama, risking liberal anger and Republican scorn, is turning his attention to the nation’s crushing debt with an anti-deficit framework that tackles politically sensitive health care programs while also increasing taxes.

The president on Wednesday plans to deliver a speech outlining his approach to reducing the deficit by lowering spending in Medicare and Medicaid, raising taxes on the wealthy and cutting defense costs. Obama’s address will draw contrasts with a Republican plan that cuts $5 trillion in spending over the next decade and which the White House says unfairly singles out middle-class taxpayers, older adults and the poor.

Yes, yes, and probably not. Hospitals have restrictions on what can be divulged based upon federal law based upon privacy concerns and identity theft. But of course Obama could authorize a hospital to release just like that but he won’t. Hawaii probably started out registering birth based upon family based and non-medical affidavits in good faith as probably a good number of children were born without a medical attendant and/or on islands other than Oahu and could not get in quickly to register them. Then someone got the bright idea to pump up the birth figures for funds. Then it went downhill from there. What a mess.

Admin, I am a longtime lurker and huge fan of your work. Upon reading this most recent post I decided to register finally. What’s happening this week in Hawaii is a case of massive fraud, and I believe it will backfire. Everyone knows, or will soon know, that up until this week a registrant could get a certified copy of his/her long-form birth certificate upon request for a nominal fee. They must really think we are fools. They must be seriously desperate.

For nearly 4 years I have insisted that Barack Obama is hiding something, probably many things. I have gone back and forth about where he was born, but that’s really not the issue anymore. Most clearly, the issue is as Donald Trump has stated: WHY WON’T HE JUST SHOW THE LONG-FORM HOSPITAL-GENERATED BIRTH CERTIFICATE? Either the one he found in high school, or the one Hawaii supposedly now has in a file cabinet on the first floor of the Health Dept.??

    Go Donald Go.

    Clinton still owes Penn $329K
    By: Kenneth P. Vogel
    April 12, 2011 07:55 PM EDT

Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign ended in the summer of 2008, but in the first three months of the year, her still operational campaign committee raised $63,000 – primarily by renting its email list to allies – and paid off $75,000 in debt to its pollster Mark Penn.

According to a report filed last week with the Federal Election Commission, Clinton’s campaign committee ended the first quarter with $329,000 in debt – all to Penn’s firm, to which the Clinton campaign once owed nearly $5.3 million.

Clinton – the secretary of state who, as a New York senator, fought a long and grueling race for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination before conceding to eventual winner Barack Obama – has said she intends to step down as the U.S.’s top diplomat after one term, and has no intention of running for president again.

And, though she’s barred from fundraising while serving as secretary of state, Clinton needs to pay off her committee’s debts to Penn before she can legally close the books on her campaign.

That’s left her campaign committee largely dependent on income it gets by charging other groups fees to send fundraising appeals to the list of supporter emails Clinton assembled during the 2008 campaign, estimated to include as many as 2.5 million email addresses.

In the first quarter of the year, the Clinton campaign collected nearly $55,000 in list rental income, mostly from two nonprofit groups linked to Clinton allies, compared to only $5,000 in contributions (including $1,000 from the political action committee of a defense contractor under federal investigation).

National Popular Vote – a group backed by Clinton donor Tom Golisano that hopes to circumvent the Electoral College through state pledges to back the popular winner in presidential elections – paid $28,000 in the first three months of the year to rent Clinton’s list.

And No Limits, founded by former Clinton adviser Ann Lewis to burnish Clinton’s legacy, paid $20,000 last month to fundraise from the list. That brings the total list rental payments by No Limits to the Clinton campaign to $437,000 since 2009.

In all, Clinton’s campaign committee has reaped $4 million since 2009 by renting its list, according to FEC filings, with some of the biggest payments coming from Clinton’s now-shuttered leadership political action committee ($822,000), Bill Clinton’s charitable foundation ($349,000), President Obama’s inaugural committee ($274,000) and Media Matters ($198,000).

In the 60s and prior to that, home births may have been more common…
Home births were extremely common in some places in the 1960’s and prior to 1950’s the norm with or without medical attendants. Another thing occurred to me in that Hawaii needed to have a certain population to become a state. So we have several reasons for Hawaii having possibly questionably lax standards and they do not want to go into it and answer questions on what was going on and why.

  88. McConnell calls WH meeting “constructive”, says both sides agree “it’s time to put the talking points aside” on dealing with debt situation and says other countries “want to know whether America’s going to get its act together or…become another Greece”

“But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.”

Then start on Congress and make every single one of them prove they are Citizens and meet all their requirements. They didn’t want to take this seriously before the election nor since, so they can get themselves lumped in with Obama right now. Won’t vet him so we’ll have to force them to start providing proof on themselves to save their own lazy asses. Maybe that will light a fire under them that they need congressional hearings and a special prosecutor.

Donald Trump to push GOP 2012 presidential candidacy at Fla. Tea Party rally

    By GEORGE BENNETT
    Palm Beach Post
Politicians often claim they don’t pay much attention to polls, especially ones taken several months before the first voters head to caucuses and primaries.

    Then there’s Donald Trump.

Less than two hours after CNN released a poll Tuesday showing Trump tied for the lead among potential 2012 Republican presidential candidates, the billionaire developer and reality TV star wanted to make sure a reporter interviewing him had seen it.

Trump also directed an employee to e-mail the reporter fresh ratings numbers showing that the latest episode of his Celebrity Apprentice show on NBC had clobbered CSI: NY on Sunday night.

And Trump reminded his interviewer that a recent Wall Street Journal poll showed him as the top presidential pick among tea party voters.

“I wasn’t that surprised,” Trump said of the tea party poll. “Because my values are very similar. They’re hard-working people. They’re people that don’t like to be taken advantage of by other countries.”

Part-time Palm Beacher Trump will make his tea party debut Saturday in Boca Raton when he speaks at an outdoor rally organized by the South Florida Tea Party.

It’s the latest indication that Trump is serious about exploring a presidential run.

Trump also considered a run in 2000 as a Reform Party candidate who favored abortion rights, universal health care and a one-time 14.25 percent tax on individuals and trusts with a net worth greater than $10 million.

As recently as 2009, he was giving campaign contributions to Democratic senators and Republican archenemies Harry Reid and Charles Schumer.

But as he looks to 2012, Trump is courting the GOP’s base of socially and economically conservative primary voters.

“I’m pro-life,” Trump told a Christian Broadcasting Network interviewer last week, explaining he’d changed his views on abortion years ago.

At February’s Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, Trump declared: “I will fight to end Obamacare and replace it, replace it with something that makes sense for people in business and not bankrupt the country.

“If I decide to run I will not be raising taxes. We’ll be taking in hundreds of billions of dollars from other countries that are screwing us.”

Trump spent much of his CPAC speech pledging to stand up to China and OPEC and other nations he says no longer respect the U.S.

Since then, Trump has made bigger waves by questioning whether President Obama was born in the U.S. and meets the constitutional requirement that the president be a “natural born citizen.”

Obama has produced an official certificate from the Hawaii Department of Health attesting that he was born in Honolulu on Aug. 4, 1961. The week after he was born, two newspapers in Honolulu included Obama in birth notices using information from state health department records.

The Hawaii document is accepted by courts and the U.S. State Department — and by the conservative National Review and many Obama critics — as conclusive evidence the president is a U.S. citizen. But Trump has joined those in the “birther” movement who demand that Obama produce a 1961-vintage “long-form” birth certificate as proof.

Roger Stone, the legendary Republican political consultant who is a friend of Trump but not an adviser to his latest presidential exploration, says Trump’s raising of the birth certificate issue has “served him extremely well It has helped him galvanize a base. I don’t think you could run on that issue alone.”

Stone points to surveys by Democrat-oriented Public Policy Polling that show Trump was viewed favorably by 31 percent of Republicans and unfavorably by 53 percent of GOP voters in mid-February. At the end of March, after weeks of fanning the birther controversy, a poll showed Trump with a 40/33 favorable/unfavorable score among Republicans — a gain of 29 points in Trump’s net approval rating.

Asked about the birth certificate issue in Tuesday’s brief interview, Trump said, “I think there are a lot of people that have questions and I certainly do.”

But Trump said he believes voters are responding more to “my stance on China, my stance on OPEC, my stance on foreign countries” who Trump says have been “taking advantage of us.”

Trump said he accepted the invitation to Saturday’s tea party event in Boca Raton because “Florida is very close to my heart.”

Organizers are expecting a large crowd.

So is the poll- and ratings-conscious Trump, who says, “I hear it’s going to be like a monster.”

  92. by the way If you notice the word used is “deficit”. Not debt. He plans to “trim the deficit” by raising taxes, not the debt.

  93. i mean Obama is against $38B in cuts for the budget for one year, in fact he wanted to increase spending at one point but we are supposed to believe he is for $4 Trillion in tax cuts over 12 years?

They must really believe we are stupid.

  94. Now the birth certificate apologists are claiming that Social Security numbers are assigned according to where someone is born. Now they are but they were not in 1961. States agreed to provide certified birth data to the Social Security adm when children are born so they may be “enumerated” shortly after birth and save parents the trouble of filing for a number and providing the proofs (and to cut off identity theft by selling children’s birth certificates). The numbers are assigned according to where the application is filed which is the state Bureau of Vital Statistics in which the birth occurred. Before this went into effect in the 1990’s(?) the number was assigned according to the state in which the application was filed as in which Social Security office took the application and looked at the proofs. More spinning and leaving out pertinent information to cover the Obama’s butt.

  95. At the same time, he wants an immediate spending spree of one trillion, and “in his second term” another trillion and a half.

Can’t have both. Which is it?

“I dislike golfing and Obama for the same reason.
    The balls are too small.”

  101. Here’s the basic outline of the White House’s long-term budget proposal:

Top line: $4 trillion in deficit reduction over 12 years, backed by a “trigger” that begins making across-the-board cuts in discretionary spending and tax expenditures if debt if we’re not on track by 2014. That’s achieved through:

Discretionary spending cuts: Increases the non-security spending freeze to the freeze-plus-cuts proposal favored by the deficit commission. That nets roughly $800 billion. Lops a further $400 billion off of the security-related discretionary spending.

Health care: Directs the Independent Payment Advisory Board to hold cost growth in Medicare to GDP plus 0.5 percent rather than GDP plus 1 percent. To make that achievable, IPAB gets new powers, including the ability to restructure Medicare’s insurance so it pays differently for treatments of different value. Also shortens the patent on biologic drugs from 12 years to seven years, implements the recommendations from the National Governors Association working group on Medicaid, and does a few more things. Total savings: $480 billion.

Non-Medicare, Medicaid or Social Security mandatory spending: Makes $360 billion in cuts.

Tax reform: Raises $1 trillion by clearing certain expenditures from the tax code. Also assumes the expiration of the Bush tax cuts for income over $250,000. The breakdown of spending cuts to tax increases in the proposal is 3:1.

Social Security: Supports negotiations to close the Social Security shortfall consistent with the principles laid out in the budget.

    Arizona Senate approves ‘birther’ bill

PHOENIX – The Arizona Senate has approved a revised bill requiring presidential candidates to prove they are U.S. citizens eligible to run for the office.

The bill approved Wednesday gives candidates additional ways to prove they meet the constitutional requirements to be president.

It was prompted by the ongoing claim by some that there is no proof President Barack Obama was born in the United States and is therefore ineligible to be president.

Democrats argued the bill exceeds the state’s authority and say state officials are not fully qualified to determine the validity of a candidate’s documents.

Republicans argue the U.S. Constitution gives state legislatures the right to determine how federal elections are conducted.

The bill now goes to the House for a final vote.

Candidly Speaking: An open letter to President Obama

    By ISI LEIBLER
    13/04/2011

What do you really expect of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and his government?

Dear Mr. President, During your recent meeting with American Jewish communal leaders, you reassured them of “America’s unshakable support for Israel’s security, opposition to any effort to delegitimize it or single it out for criticisms, and commitment to achieve a peace that will secure the future for Arabs and Israelis alike.”

Moreover, you reaffirmed your undertaking to keep US military aid at its current high levels.

On the eve of Pessah, when we celebrate our freedom from bondage, permit me to explain why, despite such assurances, most Israelis still harbor profound anxiety about your attitude toward our security.

I preface this with a reference to your disturbing remarks at the meeting, when you urged them to “search your souls” over whether Israel is genuinely serious about peace, and called on them to encourage us to take “bold steps.” Many of us consider such remarks as exemplifying the moral equivalence you consistently apply to our defensive actions in relation to terror attacks, and your penchant for condemning us while largely ignoring Palestinian intransigency.

You appear to have endorsed the Arab narrative, which ignores the fact that it was the Jewish state that suffered aggression from its neighbors preceding the ’67 war. You also seem to disregard the fact that the vast majority of Israelis today – including our prime minister – have no desire to rule over Arabs, and would dearly like to separate from them.

We may debate the amount of land beyond the 1949 armistice lines that Resolution 242 entitles us to retain, but the discussion is over minor percentages. Besides, two prime ministers offered the Palestinians over 90 percent of these territories – and were rebuffed.

TODAY OUR region is undergoing unprecedented upheaval. For years we have been confronting a xenophobic, Islamic Iran, on the eve of achieving nuclear status, which repeatedly declares its intention to wipe us off the face of the world.

Now the entire Arab world is in the throes of revolutionary turmoil. But far from emerging as free societies, new Arab regimes may prove to be even more committed to radical Islam than their corrupt predecessors. We fear that we will again be surrounded by fanatical rejectionist states committed to our destruction.

In this context, Mr. President, Israelis ask: What do you really expect of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and his government? Bear in mind that unilateral withdrawal from Gaza led to increased missile attacks. And since your election, Israel has made all the concessions. Last year, under enormous pressure from you, Netanyahu took the unprecedented step of imposing a 10-month freeze on settlement construction, even in areas that will unquestionably remain part of Israel. He also committed the government to endorsing a two-state solution – a major policy reversal in his Likud party.

In contrast, beyond making duplicitous statements – concealed from their constituents – endorsing peace, the Palestinian leaders remained utterly intransigent, unwilling to compromise on a single issue, even refusing to negotiate.

In fact, following Al Jazeera disclosures of compromises allegedly reached during negotiations with prime minister Ehud Olmert, the PA leaders blatantly denied having offered any concessions.

Surely this suggests that when negotiating with Olmert, Abbas was either duplicitous or conscious that brainwashing his constituents to hate us had been so effective that any genuine Palestinian accommodation was inconceivable.

The incitement emanating from every level of Palestinian society continues unabated, with Abbas brazenly sanctifying terrorists and providing pensions for the families of those who murder Israeli civilians.

Besides, the PA has been adamant in its refusal to recognize us as a Jewish state. Indeed, whereas 20% of the population of Israel consists of Arab and Muslim citizens, our “moderate peace partner” has proclaimed that a Palestinian state would be judenrein, insisting that he would not tolerate the presence of a single Jew. Mr. President, can you ignore such blatantly racist remarks from a leader you repeatedly refer to as a moderate peace partner? Many of us believe that the principal objective of Abbas, like his Hamas kinsmen, is still the dissolution of Jewish sovereignty; that he is merely employing Yasser Arafat’s tactics of extracting unilateral concessions and attempting to dismantle us in stages.

However, even if we accept your premise that Abbas is genuinely willing to make peace, can you, seriously visualize him having the power to deliver? Besides, you are aware that Hamas is a genocidal organization, committed to killing all Jews. Yet the man you insist is a moderate peace partner unequivocally repeats his desire to merge his PA with these Islamic psychopaths. Is it reasonable to expect us to support the creation of a neighboring state in which a dominant group remains proudly committed to our destruction? AND FINALLY, Mr. President, a word about our right to defend ourselves. If authorities in Cuba or Mexico authorized missile launches targeting American citizens, would you call for restraint? Would you respond by merely bombing empty buildings? Would you apologize if innocent civilians employed as human shields became casualties in the course of efforts to forestall attacks on American citizens? Mr. President, over the 63 years since we achieved independence, despite continuous terrorist attacks and neighbors seeking our destruction, we have succeeded in creating a vibrant democratic state. It is thus unconscionable to apply moral equivalence between our efforts to protect our citizens, and those committing acts of terror.

When you urge your Jewish constituents to press Israel to make further unilateral concessions, it epitomizes the concerns we share about your inability to appreciate the perils we face. It also fuels our fear that you are contemplating further pressure on us to retreat behind the 1949 armistice lines – which would endanger our very existence.

I urge you to reinstate the principles outlined by the Bush administration. I refer to US rejection of the right of return for Palestinian refugees; recognition of demographic changes in relation to the major settlement blocs, not seeking to impose a return to the 1949 armistice lines; and support for defensible Israeli borders.

I believe I echo the vast majority of my fellow Israelis when I appeal to you to provide us with the confidence to move forward by taking these elements into account and review your current policy.

How does that help Obama? His SSN is supposed to either be issued pursuant to an application submitted in Connecticutt and/or belongs to a decased Connecticutt resident who was born in 1890. The quicker this is proven, the better off the country will be. My only question is why did it take Donald Trump to bring some seriousness to this issue? Surely there are respected, intelligent people that could have done this sooner. Why is it taking off now, when others have stated the exact same things about the birth certificate? What made Donald Trump so special in this drama?

    How does that help Obama?…

You are correct. It doesn’t help him. My point is that any information that they can find is then applied whether it was in effect by law or not at the time of O’s immaculate birth. It is the technique of throwing so much misinformation, hogwash, and outright lies that no one has a clue of what is true, factual, or even pertains in a specific situation. They frequently show themselves by saying things that are idiotic and obviously read something on the SSA website and get it half correct to defend the indefensible.

  143. In his long awaited speech on the budget, Obama, as part of deficit reduction has proposed ending the Bush tax cuts for the upper 5% income earners ( along with making unprecedented cuts in Medicaid,Medicare and social security).

Some of the speech was typical Obama, saying things that were simply non-existent but saying them because he hoped they sounded good. One of the most glaring was his statement about bipartisan deficit reduction:

“We have come together before to reduce the deficit and we can do it again”.

Really? I don’t know on what planet Obama was on when that happened but it wasn’t the planet Earth.

In 1992 when Bill Clinton introduced his budget which included a 5c a gallon gasoline tax all of which was earmarked for eliminating the deficit, every Republican in the House and every Republican in the senate voted against it. They called press conferences where they all said the same thing — Clinton’s budget would explode the deficit, drive up unemployment and send the country into a deeper recession. It took Al Gore as president of the senate to end the deadlock and cast the deciding vote on Clinton’s budget which passed by one vote and only with Democratic votes.

Clinton’s budget ultimately resulted in the lowest unemployment in 40 years, eliminated the deficit, saw the greatest economic expansion in American history, balanced the budget and produced a $5 1/2 trillion budget surplus. The Republicans batted 1.000. They were wrong about everything.

So what will Obama do? He doesn’t have the majority he once had in congress. And Obama’s proposed cuts in Medicare and Medicaid are already being met with strong opposition by Democrats. On the other side, John Boehner has said that any tax hike is a deal breaker and “non starter”. So will Obama stick to his guns on eliminating the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy? Will he keep his pledge?

I am beginning to agree with you more and more about the deal made last friday, there were not really that many substative cuts or reforms at all, while I still give Boehner some credit for giving all the TPs and repubs sort of together, its nothing.
But as a retired air force officer said to me, it takes about 6 miles for a C1 to start turning, at least we are now turning, will it continue, unlike Doug Shoen who thinks the flood lights are off the dems and repubs after this episode, I say the flood lights have only increased

as for the speech today, its a pretend to do something speech, I didnt watch it, I read the trancript and saw CNN hyperventaliting in awe over the speech by their messiah.

I think the doctor offering free botox was pretty savvy. No tax dollars involved. And by making the offer the practice is getting attention far beyond a sign on the subway. Ad 101 get your name out there.
Respectfully I say to thee I am aware that both sides of the aisle are cheating, but me thinks this promotion was very clever as I saw it on another site as well. Also the effects of botox are limited. Give it for free and get a vain person in a chair and then say I can minimize this or that and soon you have people financing through an affiliate for stuff they’d maybe thought about but never would have done had the doc not gotten them in the chair.

  149. henry

you make good points, just irks me that this is what capitol hill people spend their days on, I don’t begrudge the doctor, he’s making a living, I am more annoyed at the capitol hill people.

  150. What is with Hotair? look at this:

The 2012 election should hinge on real issues and deep questions about Barack Obama’s ability to handle the office. The freak show is a distraction that damages the serious nature of Obama’s opposition — and don’t think the media isn’t eating it up, either.

That is what Hillary tried to do, arguing the merits of her policies and not hitting him hard on where it hurts. Look what happened. When it comes to Obama you have to ask the tough questions because everything else is a known thing like his incompetence, inexperience, lack of interest or goodwill, lack of everything but just enjoying the perks. He and his handlers are depending on you to not ask those questions. It is daylight robbery, hiding in plain sight, on and on.. Maybe the Repubs will blackmail him to take care of SS and Medicare/medicaid in his second term.

  151. It’s interesting that TIME lists $3 as the cost for a photocopy because ONLY the ‘Certificate of Hawaiian Birth'(COHB) costs $3. A COHB is a sort of Late Birth Certificate and was only issued to children one year and older on the basis of testimony (family or neighbors) and that program was discontinued in the 1970s.

For example, see this image on that $3 fee from the Hawaii Public Health Regulations on that type of copy here:
    http://obamasgarden.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/cohb.jpg

When a person wishes to amend their COHB, nowadays it’s treated as an application for a Late Birth Certificate, see that explanation at the Hawaii Department of Health here: http://hawaii.gov/health/vital-records/vital-records/hawnbirth.html

IF Obama had a ‘Certificate of Live Birth’ issued from Kapiolani Hopsital, as he apparently claims, then the cost for a copy would be TEN DOLLARS, $10, not $3 – as their website also explains: http://hawaii.gov/health/vital-records/vital-records/vital_records.html

Does Obama have a birth certificate issued when he was older than one-year?

  152. This comment should accompany my link-laden comment from 11:22 p.m. that’s in moderation: recall that Obama’s online image of a birth record says, “CertificaTION of Live Birth,” rather than “CertificaTE of Live Birth.”

These little things are apparently relevant in the world of vital records.
