Big Media Lies About The Barack Obama Birth Certificate And Donald Trump

For years Big Media has pretended not to know the difference between a Birth Certificate and a Certificate of Live Birth. This pretend stupidity has been in service to the protection of Barack Obama.

For years Big Media has betrayed the journalism profession, consumers of news, and the American people by not demanding a source document – instead engaging in duplicity by saying that the source document has already been produced and smearing (Birther!) anyone who demands to see a source document. If it was Richard Nixon, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Sarah Palin, or George W. Bush Big Media would scream “Trust but Verify.” But for Obama the Big Media cry is “Preserve And Protect“.

Recently Donald Trump entered the fray and demanded, in a very high profile manner, to see the Obama Birth Certificate. Donald Trump (not one of our favorites at all) was immediately smeared.

Donald Trump said he would set an example for Barack Obama and produce his very own Donnie Trump birth certificate. Immediately Big Media decepticons mocked and sneered that the Donald had not produced a birth certificate but something else.

When Donald Trump produced a document purported to be a birth certificate Big Media became a fount of information on the difference between official and unofficial documents and between a REAL birth certificate and something less. For Barack Obama it was credibility destroying credulity but for Donald Trump it was microscopic analysis and attacks.

This is one of our very few articles which discuss the Obama/Big Media flim-flam on the birth certificate issue. In our very first article discussing the birth certificate we discussed one of the most deceptive publications and corrupt Journolisters – Politico and Ben Smith. What we wrote in that July 2009 article is as fresh today as it was then:

“Ben Smith at Politico is not a stupid man but he acts stupid in order to protect Obama. Ben Smith is not alone in acting stupid with reporting that can only be described as dishonest. Ben Smith and other Big Media Obama protectors well know, they must know because they are not stupid, that the Birth Certificate Issue is about the thus far unseen Obama Birth Certificate.

Ben Smith and the Obama Big Media protectors are not stupid and they must know that there is a difference between a Certificate of Live Birth and a Birth Certificate. But the Obama Big Media protectors act dumb in order to deceive and protect Obama by pretending they do not understand the difference between a Certificate of Live Birth and a Birth Certificate.

Ben Smith and other Big Media Obama protectors then pretend that Obama is being transparent and open by not producing the document that is at the center of the controversy – the Birth Certificate.”

In the Age of Fake, even the stupidity is fake. Ben Smith, in his coverage of Donald Trump has crossed the line (once again) from fake stupidity to outright lies. Ben Smith knows better but he is lying to his readers and Politico is complicit in Ben Smith’s lies.

This is what Ben Smith wrote about Donald Trump’s demand for the Barack Obama birth certificate (note what Ben Smith writes at the end):

” I asked longtime Donald Trump advisor Roger Stone, who is working on the unofficial “Draft Trump” effort, rather than the attempts at an official campaign, why Trump would embrace discredited theories about Obama’s birth.

Stone emails with five reasons:

1) He believes he is raising a legitimate question. If there is nothing wrong why doesn’t the Prez simply release his birth certificate?

2) Notice Trump makes no allegation— he is merely asking a question.

3) A solid plurality of Republican primary voters AGREE with Trump. In a split field with 5-6 candidates they are a significant group

4) Personally I think it is brilliant. It’s base building. It gives voice to a concern shared by many on the right.

5) The media immediately tries to marginalize any one who raises questions about the lack of proof that Obama was born in the US.

No other potential candidate hasdared to speak up on the issue—-politics abhors a vacuum. Trump’s poll ratings in the Republican primaries will go UP.

As I wrote earlier, an official copy of Obama’s birth certificate — the same thing Trump would have to prove his own birth — has been available and online for more than three years.

Ben Smith knows what he wrote is a lie. There is NO “official copy of Obama’s birth certificate… available and online for more than three years.” Ben Smith knows this is all a lie. Ben Smith knows and understand the difference between a birth certificate and a certificate of live birth. Ben Smith knows but Ben Smith lies.

Ben Smith lies to Politico readers and pretends he does not know the difference between a genuine source document Birth Certificate, the one the “Birthers” are demanding, and the Certificate of Live Birth. Ben Smith knows the distinctions and differences between the source document and others – we know this because this is how Ben Smith attacked Donald Trump and protected Barack Obama:

“Trump peddles 2007 edition of conspiracy theory

There’s really no excuse for this:

They give you a certificate of live birth which anybody can get. Just walk into the hospital. This guy either has a birth certificate or he doesn’t. I didn’t think it was such a big deal, but I will tell you, it is turning out to be a very big deal. People are calling me from all over saying please don’t give up on this issue. If you weren’t born in this country, you cannot be President. You have no doctors that remember, you have no nurses — this is the President of the United States — that remember. Why can’t he produce a birth certificate? I brought it up just routinely, and all of a sudden, a lot of facts are emerging and I’m starting to wonder myself whether he was born in this country?”

As dozens of reporters looked into, and wrote, in 2007, Hawaii (like Trump’s native New York) will give natives a copy of their birth certificates on request. Obama gave it to the press back then. Here’s a picture.

Trump isn’t even up to date on his Birther lunacy, which now revolves around tortured explanations of the totally conclusive birth announcements and demands for the original, hand-written birth certificate, which isn’t what you get from the Department of Health in New York either.

UPDATE: Trump has now released the handwritten original, not the official copy; this doesn’t change the story much, as the Hawaii Department of Health — whose rules have prevented the release of the original — has validated it any number of times.”

Ben Smith lies when he writes that it is the Hawaii Department of Health “whose rules have prevented the release of the original” – no Barack Obama can request and release his birth certificate at any time. Ben Smith knows Barack Obama has fought in court repeatedly to prevent the release of his birth certificate.

Ben Smith linked to the Certificate of Live Birth pictures and nonsense from the fake FactCheck. Both FactCheck and Ben Smith pretend they are stupid and that a Certificate of Live Birth is a Birth Certificate. They are lying to protect Barack Obama. They pretend to be stupid and not understand the difference – when it comes to Barack Obama. But as to Donald Trump the understand the distinctions and smear and slime the “Donald” (again, not a favorite of ours).

Ben Smith knows better. Ben Smith cited the Maggie Haberman article in Politico and even quoted from it. Ben Smith knows better but he is a leading liar Journolister in the propaganda ministry protecting Barack Obama.

This is what Journolister Maggie Haberman wrote, which demonstrates quite a bit of knowledge about birth certificates and their lesser cousins:

“Welcome to Donald Trump’s birth certificate, the sequel.

A day after the presidential tease released what he said was his birth certificatea document that POLITICO found was not actually official — Trump produced the real thing for ABC News. The network’s website showed an image of the actual, New York City-issued certificate, a grainy microfilm production.

Amazing that for Donald Trump Politico sees and seizes on the distinctions between a source document Birth Certificate (see baby Donnie’s birth certificate HERE) and a less comprehensive document. But hey, Donald Trump is a builder in New York who must be microscopically examined and Barack Obama is a Chicago flim-flam man with little known history who must be Journolister protected. More from Haberman:

“Trump released the initial document as part of his his spotlight-seeking effort to push the debunked “birther” argument about President Barack Obama, as he has repeatedly raised questions in recent days about where Obama was born — and gotten plenty of airtime for it.

An aide to the real estate mogul told ABC News that “a ‘birth certificate’ and a ‘certificate of live birth’ are in no way the same thing, even though in some cases they use some of the same words. … One officially confirms and records a newborn child’s identity and details of his or her birth, while the other only confirms that someone reported the birth of a child.”

Haberman lies when she says the Barack Obama Birth Certificate story has been “debunked”. Haberman and Ben Smith, the Politico Protectors, pretend to be stupid in order to deceive their readers and protect Barack Obama. Both of them know better but instead choose to attack Donald Trump instead of joining him and demanding to see the source document – the Birth Certificate.

ABC News’s Michael Falcone joined in the mock “the Donald” festivities.

“Take Two: Donald Trump Releases Official Birth Certificate

ABC News Michael Falcone reports:

Donald Trump learned the hard way this week that if you’re going to call on the president to release his official birth certificate, you’d better do the same.

Trump, who has been putting pressure on Obama lately to make public his long-form birth certificate from Hawaii, decided to set a good example and release his own on Monday. Only problem was, the document that Trump provided to the conservative Website Newsmax wasn’t his actual birth certificate, but rather a “hospital certificate of birth.

On Tuesday, Trump, who is contemplating a presidential run in 2012, sought to correct the oversight, providing a copy of his official birth certificate issued by the New York City Department of Health to ABC News.

Amazing how when it comes to Donald Trump the distinction between a birth certificate and a certificate of live birth is so easy to understand and explain.

Falcone of ABC News posted a picture of the Trump birth certificate as well as an enlarged version. Falcone included in his report the memo from the Trump staffer but it is a longer excerpt which clarifies matters even further (something Politico would rather muddy up and deceive their readers about). Too bad that Falcone did not produce a side by side comparison of Barack Obama’s Certificate of Live Birth and Donald Trump’s source document Birth Certificate. We now have much more information about Donald Trump, New York builder, than about Barack Obama, flim-flam man from Chicago:

“It shows that “Donald John Trump” was born June 14, 1946 in Jamaica Hospital in Queens. It lists his father as Fred C. Trump and his mother as Mary Mac Leod. The date of the report is listed as June 14, 1946.

The image came with an accompanying memo from a member of Trump’s staff.

A ‘birth certificate’ and a ‘certificate of live birth’ are in no way the same thing, even though in some cases they use some of the same words,” wrote Trump staffer Thuy Colayco in a message to ABC News. “One officially confirms and records a newborn child’s identity and details of his or her birth, while the other only confirms that someone reported the birth of a child. Also, a ‘certificate of live birth’ is very easy to get because the standards are much lower, while a ‘birth certificate’ is only gotten through a long and detailed process wherein identity must be proved beyond any doubt. If you had only a certificate of live birth, you would not be able to get a proper passport from the Post Office or a driver’s license from the Department of Motor Vehicles. Therefore, there is very significant difference between a ‘certificate of live birth’ and a ‘birth certificate’ and one should never be confused with the other.” [snip]

This guy either has a birth certificate or he doesn’t,” Trump said in an interview on Fox News on Monday. “I didn’t think this was such a big deal, but I will tell you, it’s turning out to be a very big deal because people now are calling me from all over saying please don’t give up on this issue.

The Obama campaign released a “certification of live birth,” which is a shorter document that carries the same legal weight as the long one, in 2008.”

Falcone is wrong and the Donald Trump staffer is right – a certificate of live birth does NOT carry the same legal weight as the long one [birth certificate].

Republicans voting for president in primaries should be aware that Tim Pawlenty (and HotAir) does not understand this issue, and prefers to vote “present”:

“Already one likely Republican contender, Tim Pawlenty, indicated that Trump’s emphasis on the issue was unwise.

“I, for one, do not believe we should be raising that issue,” the former Minnesota governor said in an interview MSNBC on Tuesday. “I think President Obama was born in the United States.”

Trump discussed his calls for Obama to release his official birth certificate on ABC’s “The View” last week:

Notice the duplicity of the video above. The ladies of the View are pretending they are stupid too. They pretend to not understand the difference between a certificate of live birth and a source document birth certificate. For the ladies on The View, like the Big Media Obama protectors, ignorance is bliss.

There are plenty of issues of great import which must be discussed. But the Birth Certificate issue is important too. Tim Pawlenty does not understand that this issue is a matter of Big Media bias too. If he has already surrendered to Big Media Pawlenty should go home and drink beer and watch hockey. Big Bird will make a better president than Tim Pawlenty:

Big Bird knows something stinks. A while back we noted that Lou Dobbs was smeared for raising the same questions Donald Trump and the fun-faux Big Bird are raising:

Barack Obama promised to be “transparent”. Big Media has forgotten that promise. Bid Media refuses to stop smearing those who want a source document not “trust me” statements from hacks.

Big Media is acting dumb to protect the Big Boob.

* * * * *

Big Media is not only protecting the Big Boob. Smaller boobs are protected as well. By that we mean Bill Maher “…from last night’s Greta lamenting that anyone, let alone a “progressive,” can get away with sexist insults without being called on it :

Big Media will pass on exposing Bill Maher for the vile sexist and misogynist he displays himself to be. The left, bereft of all rationality and decency will laugh with Maher because the targets are women on the right side of the political spectrum. The right wing will laugh when it is women like Hillary Clinton who are the targets of the attacks. The sexism and misogyny will not stop because Big Media is a corrupt institution.

Big Media must be confronted and their faces shoved into their own shi… works in the way dogs used to be toilet trained. Big Media must be forced to stop lying to those who depend on the truth – the American public.

Whether it’s the Barack Obama Birth Certificate or the unreported sexism and misogyny Big Media is a Big Fail. The American people are increasingly fed up with Barack Obama’s boobery (see today’s new flaccid poll) Increasingly the American people are borrowing a line from Donald Trump and saying “You’re fired.” Couldn’t happen to a bigger bunch of boobs.

  1. Good article.

Something that helps casual readers understand the issue is the terms “long form / short form”. It’s specially effective when there are quotes of applications for drivers license etc that stipulate “long form”.

It’s helpful when a news article includes reader comments like “I’m from HI and to get my ___ I had to show my “long form” and it’s not hard to get.”

  2. a fine little war in the middle east, which costs no American lives, has NATO cover

    ==============

    Like Kosovo?

  3. There are many types of birth documents. Baptismal, hospital (footprint of infant and thumb of mother) delayed, short form, notification of live birth, and the long form are all types of proof of birth. Before most births were in hospitals, doctors and midwives reported the birth to the local jurisdiction (city or county) periodically when they were near a courthouse or mailed it in. Before the 1930’s there were many areas in which birth records were not reported at all. A child’s age was not recorded until they started school. This was in rural as well as urban areas. Dwight Eisenhower had to get a Texas delayed birth certificate when running for president because no birth record was made for him in Grayson county. He went through school and West Point without one because he did not need it. The delayed birth certificate was based upon secondary evidence such as affidavits and/or school records.

Federal law required states to standardize these records because each jurisdiction was all over the place. Anyone who had dealt with these records knows that something is being hidden or avoided by Obama. What exactly I have no clue. Trump submitted the two most common records of birth, the hospital and long form. If he has a baptismal he will hit the trifecta.

  4. Admin, Just a thanks for everything you do here with your blog. I don’t always visit here every day, but I read your blog throughout the month. I admit missing certain articles that you write, and I apologize for that, but the articles that I have read here always have me agreeing with most everything that you’ve written. Actually, I can’t recall anything that I have disagreed with. I believe that to be darn remarkable especially since I think that I am a bit more conservative than you which more than likely means that we disagree on some points with regards to politics. I respect your honesty. I don’t believe you have a hidden agenda here. You are writing your thoughts, and supporting your thoughts with facts. How refreshing is that! I can’t tolerate outright lies, and I have yet to see anything of the sort here. I don’t know who you are, and I understand why you do not expose yourself at this time, but I hope that you identify yourself someday. You have my respect and admiration. It would be nice to know the genius behing this blog. Thank you and keep up the exceptional work.

  5. I think the hackers are trying to mess with Hillaryis44…

sent comments and difficult to connect…

You must be making the clarification to easy to understand for ‘the protectors’

  6. Like Kosovo?
    ——————-
Yes. That is the model they have in mind. They do not want it to become another Iraq. But if Gadafi is tenacious, and able to hold on, which is some perverse sense would not bother me too terribly because it would demonstrate the bankruptcy of this fine little war strategy, then all bets are off.

Let me give you a moment of clarity here. Obama and his entourage are not Democrats, not Republicans, not liberals, and not conservatives. What then are they? They are Orwellians . . .

“Orwellian” aspires to achieve a totalitarian control over a society through press propaganda, surveillance, misinformation, denial of truth, social engineering and manipulation of the past. That is what Obama and his entourage are all about. And they do this in the service of global capitalism.

Orwell’s ideas about personal freedom and state authority developed when he was a British colonial administrator in Burma. He was fascinated by the effect of colonialism on the individual person, requiring acceptance of the idea that the colonialist oppressor exists only for the good of the oppressed person and people.

Ben Smith and his ilk are nothing more than operatives in such a scheme. That is exactly what they are.

  7. When I learned of Chuck Schumer’s recorded comments on how the Dimocrats should stonewall efforts to deal with the budget, and how a shutdown would benefit the dims, even if it hurt the nation, I thought of another quote by Orwell, which reminds us of why the dims are now the enemy of the American People:

“The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power. Not wealth or luxury or long life or happiness: only power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from all the oligarchies of the past, in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just round the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal. We are not like that. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power.”

  8. About Kosovo, and how Obozo used it to show that he didn’t wait as long as BC did — as usual that is a lie.. As one analyst on Fox pointed out yesterday, in the earlier stages of that conflict, it was difficult to figure out who the oppressed were and as ethnic cleansing went on it became more and more clear who needed the US support. So for Rice or Oboob to come back and say anything adverse about that is a lie.

  9. Great read…It’s tragic that we do not have one major network that reports real news, real facts, and real stories anymore. Even before Bambi appeared real journalism was becoming rare, and with his arrival it has all but disappered.

  10. Admin, you caught the idiots like Ben Smith red handed.

‘Now that you know the difference, produce the long form BC for Oboob, you fools.’

  11. Clinton, Gates try to ease lawmakers’ Libya worries

By Olivier Knox (AFP) – 2 hours ago

WASHINGTON — US President Barack Obama ordered his top military and foreign policy advisers to brief lawmakers on Libya Wednesday and face tough questions, doubts and even anger about his handling of the conflict.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Defense Secretary Robert Gates, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and the top uniformed US officer, Admiral Mike Mullen, were to brief the Senate and House of Representatives.

“What is the ultimate outcome? What’s the desired outcome, for example? If our policy isn’t regime change, what is our policy?” Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell asked on the eve of the briefings.

The closed-door sessions, expected to last most of the afternoon and into the early evening, came as forces loyal to Moamer Kadhafi overran the Libyan oil town of Ras Lanuf on Wednesday, scattering vastly outgunned rebels.

US lawmakers worriedly watching the see-saw battles in Libya have said they want to know how long the conflict will stretch, how much it will cost, and whether Kadhafi might still be in power when the dust settles.

Senators and representatives have expressed concerns about the conflict’s impact on turmoil across the Middle East and the US standing in the Muslim world amid the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and operations in Yemen and Pakistan.

And some have charged Obama failed to consult Congress — to which the US Constitution reserves the right to declare war — adequately before Britain, France and the United States started UN-authorized air strikes on March 19.

Opinion polls have found the American public deeply divided on the president’s handling of the conflict, on whether the ultimate goal must be Kadhafi’s ouster, and on whether Washington should lead or be a supporting player to other powers.

Republican House Speaker John Boehner said Tuesday that Obama had done the right thing by using force to thwart a “slaughter” of Libyan civilians but charged that the plan to oust Kadhafi boiled down to “nothing more than hope.”

“So if Kadhafi doesn’t leave, how long will NATO be there to enforce a no-fly zone? That’s a very troubling question,” Boehner told reporters ahead of the 2:30 pm (1830 GMT) briefing for House members.

Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who has backed Obama on Libya, said Tuesday he had told his party to “come loaded with all your questions” to the 5:00 pm (2100 GMT) closed-door session for senators.

“And then if in fact you want to do more legislatively, you’re entitled to,” Reid said, noting he had read his colleagues a 1973 law that restricts the president’s ability to wage war without congressional authority.

US lawmakers could seek a formal vote declaring war or endorsing the US role in the clashes — giving Obama wide latitude to act — or one demanding an end to US operations within a 60-90 day timeframe sketched out by the law.

The briefings came two days after Obama told Americans in a prime-time speech that though he would use force to protect civilians, an effort to oust Kadhafi by force would replicate the carnage and financial cost of the Iraq war.

Lawmakers worried that Obama had not mapped out an end game for the conflict as critics warn that he may have taken sides in an intractable Middle Eastern civil war, and fear a blow to US credibility unless Kadhafi is removed.

And there were congressional debates over whether Washington should arm the rebels — with some saying that was the only way to even the odds and others worried about just who might end up with the hardware from Washington.

Clinton and Gates were also expected to face detailed questions in public on Thursday at hearings of the Senate Armed Services Committee and its House counterpart.

End of the Road for Hillary Clintonby Charlotte Hays

    03/30/2011

    Stick a knife in—she’s done.

When Hillary Clinton recently peered from newsstands as the first cover girl of the new, revived (sort of) Newsweek, a casual observer might have thought that the secretary of state had reached the apex of her career. But even a fawning article in a Newsweek issue devoted to “women who shake the world” couldn’t quite conceal the slowly congealing truth: Hillary is a spent force in American politics. Her tenure in Foggy Bottom has accomplished what legions of conservative activists tried to in vain: stopping Hillary.

The world is shaking—but Hillary Clinton does not shake it. She is the least influential secretary of state in recent memory, say many experienced observers.

A secretary of state is not, of course, a free agent. The job is to represent the President’s foreign policy. But it is also a policy-making job and, other than standing up for the rights of “girls and women,” Clinton has found nothing to make her own. “Just limiting the discussion to the Middle East, what’s so remarkable is how little of a presence she has had. She’s been a cipher,” said Daniel Pipes of the Middle East Forum.

“She can’t disagree with the President in public,” said Michael Rubin, a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute who specializes in the Middle East, “but it’s not clear that even in the interagency process she’s arguing a point. She seems to be just taking what is put on her plate and not leading. What sort of response to a 3 a.m. call can she brag about? She’s attended a lot of conferences in Africa while serving as secretary of state. She’s doing the off-Broadway circuit of diplomacy.

“In the old days,” Rubin added, “it was the vice president who was going to funerals but not conducting foreign policy. Under Obama, it seems that the two most entrusted foreign policy advisers are Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. John Kerry. What Obama tried to do with Clinton was neuter her, and he has succeeded. Ultimately, she’s been stuck doing third-tier policy work.”

Watching Hillary flail about has been curiously uncomfortable. Julie Gunlock of the Independent Women’s Forum jokes that Clinton has acquired the “Alfred Dunner, old-person look.” No, Mrs. Clinton hasn’t taken to wearing Mr. Dunner’s elastic-waistbanded slacks, sold at such outlets as the Vermont Country Store, but she has the Alfred Dunner look down pat: a look not of gravitas but of extreme fatigue. At a recent Capitol Hill hearing on the Middle East, the secretary’s puffy eyes darted frantically from side to side—always just above the heads of her interlocutors—as if she has become so much an appendage of her boss that she has taken to reading from an imaginary teleprompter. She did say something interesting, though: that we needed to know more about the Libyan rebels.

No kidding. Certainly Clinton’s State Department needed to know more about Libya in general: the September 2010 issue of the State Department’s in-house magazine featured Libya as its “post of the month,” hailing that country’s “bold past, promising future.” Splashed with dazzling photos of Roman ruins (since joined by more recent ruins), the article celebrates the news that the U.S. Defense Attache’s Office was “cultivating a growing relationship with the Libyan military.”

Although in the 1980s and ’90s Libya “existed almost in a time warp” because of the “devastating effects of sanctions and global isolation,” the article says, “Libya today is booming, with constant roadwork and myriad new construction projects led by Korean, Chinese, Turkish, and Brazilian companies.” Of course, anybody who took up the offer of a posting to this garden spot has long since vacated it on a rickety ferry to Malta.

Clinton might have resigned her job, as many predicted she would, and distanced herself from the Obama administration’s Lilliputian foreign policy in time for 2012. But it’s too late now. The Middle East caught her unaware, and unlike Hosni Mubarak, she has no place to go. Clinton has once again had to stand—literally—by her man. The photos of her standing silently at Obama’s side won’t help if she ever runs for anything again. Nor have her own remarks been distinguished: “Absent international authorization,” she said, “the United States’ acting alone would be stepping into a situation the consequences of which would be unforeseeable.” Let’s see: Acting alone is acting alone, and we do not know the future. Got that?

In a way, it is fitting that it is the Middle East that has finished Clinton’s chances of greater glory. It is a region of the world that has long bedeviled her. It was her initial 2002 vote in favor of authorizing the use of force in Iraq that gave Barack Obama his initial opening to steal the Democratic Left. Giving him even more ammunition, Hillary biographers Jeff Gerth and Don Van Natta Jr. reported that Clinton cast this fateful vote without having read the National Intelligence Estimate on Iraq. Obama had made it the stuff of Sunday talk shows within days of Gerth’s and Van Natta’s report in the New York Times in the spring of 2007. (The authors also revealed that Clinton had made the decision on authorization of force with advice from Bill.)

Still, it must be acknowledged that a whirling dervish has nothing on our globe-trotting secretary of state. Indeed, fully half the import of the Newsweek article was that she keeps busy. The other half was her work on behalf of the rights of “girls and women.” “A recent 19-hour ‘day trip’ to Mexico,” we are informed, “landed her at Maryland’s Andrews Air Force Base well after 2 a.m., which left approximately six hours to get home, sleep, and make her first meeting of the day that would culminate in President Obama’s State of the Union address.” Yeah, I was tired, too, that day. But it didn’t really matter, because I wasn’t delivering a State of the Union address—just like Clinton.

While not flying around the globe, Clinton has found time to carve out a niche with such statesmanlike activities as participating in an “energetic discussion” of current events on Masrawy.com, an Egyptian news site. “The Web chat was only one of dozens of personal exchanges Clinton has committed to during the three months since Tunisia’s unrest set off a political explosion whose end is not yet in sight,” Newsweek gushed. Okay, but can you really imagine James A. Baker III or Dean Acheson frittering away his day in Web chat rooms? If all it took was keeping busy, Clinton would go down in history as a great secretary of state.

“She works extremely hard—no question about it—but to no great effect. For slow, dogged labor, she gets high marks. But she has no achievements to show for her labor,” said Claudia Rosett, journalist-in-residence at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies. Rosett does not rule out Clinton’s trying to run for President in 2016, when she will be only 68 and can maneuver to distance herself from or claim credit for—whichever pantsuits her better—Obama’s foreign policy. Other observers believe she has set her sights on moving over to the Department of Defense before 2012. After all, there has never been a female secretary of defense.

But—it hardly needs to be said—you can never count out a Clinton. Journalist Michael Tomasky of the UK’s Guardian, who wrote a book on Clinton’s race for the Senate, for example, thinks she has a future in electoral politics. “It wouldn’t surprise me if she still holds the presidency in the back of her mind, and I see no reason why she shouldn’t. At the same time, what we learned from her 2000 campaign and her senatorial tenure is that she’s a real nose-to-the-grindstone type. She grinds out wins slowly and unglamorously. If there’s a second term and if she stays, it wouldn’t surprise me to see her score some breakthroughs.”

Although Clinton has always been in the forefront of the women’s movement, she seems to be giving it renewed focus right now, especially with regard to the Middle East, where women’s rights have long been trampled. The Newsweek cover was part of a package deal. Editor Tina Brown—who also put Clinton on the first cover of her dearly departed Talk magazine (we know how that ended, don’t we?)—was hosting a women’s summit in New York, at which the secretary spoke.

The Independent Women’s Forum’s Gunlock thinks that Clinton is doing this with renewed fervor because “that’s her safe place: women’s issues.” And speaking at the summit, Clinton did seem revived, exhibiting flashes of the old Hillary, the drive and ardor. Still, she seemed a little behind the times. She is sponsoring a program to bring women from the Seven Sisters colleges to learn policy at the State Department—this at a time when women outnumber young men in colleges and the real problem may be the feminization of education, not the opposite. And hasn’t Clinton heard—there are only six sisters now? Vassar takes guys.

She was, however, with her own crowd, the older feminists, and some women from the developing world, and she was loving every minute. Still, with her weight gain (certainly we can understand this!), swathed in black pants and with odd camera angles, she often looked like a face and pudgy hands reaching out from a Bedouin tent and, moreover, one couldn’t help wondering whether Bill Clinton, who also spoke at the summit, wasn’t Tina Brown’s real “get” of the event.

Poor Hillary. Bill always has his eyes somewhere else.

You tok the words right out of my mouth. I adore Admin!

Hey, since ya all are discussing Bosnia, I saw a movie, I posted it here a few weeks ago, ” A Special Relationship” it was about Clinton and Blair and it really showed Clinton in a poor light, magnified all his negatives ( surprise ), don’t know who produced it. The jest of it was that Tony Blair was responsible in pushing, or shaming Clinton into action in Bosnia. Do you all remember it that way? Tony came out a saint.

  14. Under intense pressure to curb spiking gas prices, the president unveils energy security ‘blueprint’ aimed at reducing foreign oil imports to the U.S. by one-third over the next decade.
    ————————-
He is a devious bastard. The problem is TODAY not 10 years from now. We do not need a blueprint–we need oil. The answer is to drill here–not in Brazil. This bullshit announcement is yet another attempt to benefit Soros who is invested in oil and Immelt who has staked the future of GE on nuclear power—and to destroy the American middle class.

  16. We have to look at this rebel army not in terms of what it is now, but how it will evolve, especially if we empower it to succeed. It is naive to assume that we can control it. It is naive to assume that the Muslim Brotherhood and al Qaeda will not infiltrate and attempt to control it. The truth is we do not know, and event the Orwellians cannot control what happens. Ironically, we are safer in that respect with Kadafi, because there is reason to believe that Israel has penetrated his inner circle, and to that extent are in a better position to accurately predict what he will do. Not so with the rebels.

  17. We have to look at this rebel army not in terms of what it is now, but how it will evolve, especially if we empower it to succeed. It is naive to assume that we can control it.

So? Is that the only criteria, when civilians are threatened with massacre by a known evil?

As to how Gadaffi’s successor treats us later — that might be determined by how we treat the rebels now.

  18. Can’t criticize Obama without trashing others.

    http://www.mediaite.com/tv/jon-stewart-was-not-impressed-with-president-obamas-libya-speech/

Jon Stewart had some fun at President Obama’s expense last night, dissecting and mocking his speech and the media reaction to it. Stewart wasn’t sure why Obama seemed angry about having to explain America’s intervention in Libya? He also wondered whether America handing control of the operation to NATO is really a big deal if America is the one who largely funds and controls NATO? Stewart humorously compared it to being as if singer Beyonce gave control to her temporary alter-ego “Sasha Fierce.”

Also mocked was Wolf Blitzer for being eager to try and label Obama’s speech as the beginning of the new “Obama Doctrine.” And in an effort to demonstrate that Obama isn’t unique in justifying intervention to stop a crisis in one country, while atrocities take place elsewhere, Stewart played clips from many past presidents showing that their rhetoric didn’t necessarily match their actions either. Although the loudest laugh came at the end, when Stewart played a clip of Sarah Palin trying to describe the “skirmish” in Libya, but saying the word “squirmish” instead.

  19. What is most upsetting to me, is that since the primaries, most of the loathsome attacks on Hillary have been made by other woman. Same for Palin….

  20. Dabbling in Genealogy, I knew all along the difference between the long and short form. When I have brought this up on this blog, there were attacks about it. I understand that people don’t want to support a position and then find out later that it is wrong, but we have been hoodwinked by Obama’s staff and supporters. When people start bullying others about their position and facts, without producing the documents in questions, there just has to be something there.

We allowed the bullies to shut us up, because we did not want to appear foolish. What is foolish about making sure someone is eligible about running the country? Yet, we have been ridiculed for asking that this be proven.

About birth certificate’s,, when I moved to NYS I had to produce the original hospital long form document to get a DL.

If I had to show one to get a new DL WTF shouldn’t the POS have to show his? I have smelled a cover up from the beginning of this issue. Where there is smoke there is fire. There is something, either disqualifying, embarrassing or illegal about BO’s BC.

I hope Trump unravels the scandal and is ushering in the Fall of BO.

  33. Jon Stewart should check his facts. The word squirmish already exists and is defined in the urban dictionary as:

1). A verbal clash between two or more parties that is so petty, pointless, misinformed or ill-conceived that it makes witnesses wince with embarrassment, or so uncomfortable that they don’t know where to look.

2). Physically manifesting an emotional reaction to something perceived as disgusting; recoiling uncomfortably from something perceived as offensive; combination of squirmy and squeamish

Not the Oxford English dictionary but not a new coining either – and in the context very accurate!

Personally, I think Øbama is sympathetic to world communism. I know that some may think this smacks of McCarthyism, but I wonder how many communists are strategically placed throughout the government and the media in this country, and what they are doing to push their agenda. Did Øbama purposely try to destroy the US economy in order to cause maximum destruction to the US in order to remove the biggest obstacle to communist world domination? Are some of the biggest businesses in this country headed by CEO’s and others in the upper echelons of the business hierarchy also sympathetic to communism?

Feingold wants resignation of GE head from Obama’s jobs council
    By Michael O’Brien – 03/30/11 12:59 PM ET

Former Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) called Wednesday for the ouster of General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt from President Obama’s jobs council.

Feingold, citing GE’s ability to escape paying taxes on its $14.2 billion profit last year, launched a petition to force Immelt’s resignation as chairman of Obama’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.

“We cannot stand by and watch while we are led down this road,” Feingold said in an email to supporters. “Mr. Immelt must step down from the president’s jobs panel — and if he won’t, President Obama needs to ask for his resignation.”

Obama named Immelt the chairman of his jobs council in January. The panel is one of the top outside economic advisory bodies the administration had empanelled, and Immelt’s nomination was broadly seen as an entreaty toward the business community at the time.

“How can someone like Immelt be given the responsibility of heading a jobs creation task force when his company has been creating more jobs overseas while reducing its American workforce?” Feingold asked. “And under Immelt’s direction, GE spends hundreds of millions of dollars hiring lawyers and lobbyists to evade taxes.”

  43. US nominates William Burns as number two diplomat
    (AFP) – 4 hours ago

WASHINGTON — US diplomat William Burns, the State Department’s political director, has been nominated to the number two position in the agency, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced Wednesday.

Burns, the most senior career officer in the US Foreign Service, will replace outgoing Deputy Secretary of State Jim Steinberg, who is leaving President Barack Obama’s administration to return to academia.

“While it is not possible to replace Jim Steinberg, I am delighted to announce that President Obama intends to nominate Under Secretary Bill Burns to follow Jim as our next deputy,” Clinton said in a message to State Department employees.

Burns, whose current position as number three at State since May 2008 put him at the forefront of US foreign policy, must be confirmed by the US Senate.

He served as Washington’s ambassador to Jordan from 1998 to 2001, assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern affairs from 2001 to 2005, and then as ambassador to Russia, from 2005 to 2008. He speaks Russian, Arabic and French.

Steinberg has served as Clinton’s principal deputy since the outset of the Obama administration. He heads to Syracuse University, in New York state, as new dean of the prestigious Maxwell School.

Hillary Clinton Favorable Near Her All-Time High

Secretary leads the president and vice president in popular appeal

    by Lydia Saad

PRINCETON, NJ — Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s favorable rating from Americans is now 66%, up from 61% in July 2010 and her highest rating to date while serving in the Obama administration. The current rating is just one percentage point below her all-time high rating of 67%, from December 1998.

Clinton’s record-high rating came shortly after the U.S. House of Representatives impeached President Bill Clinton on charges of perjury related to the Monica Lewinsky and Paula Jones investigations, matters that engendered Americans’ sympathy for the first lady. However, her subsequent entry into electoral politics — first as a U.S. senator from New York, and later as a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination — made her a more polarizing figure, and her favorable rating descended at times into the 40s.

Since Gallup began measuring Clinton’s favorable rating in 1993, there have been several instances when Americans viewed her more unfavorably than favorably — one as recently as February 2008. However, more than 60% of Americans viewed her favorably in all three measures Gallup has taken since she assumed her State Department job, and she scored 65% in January 2009 just prior to President Barack Obama being sworn in.

The latest results are from a March 25-27 Gallup poll conducted while the United States was actively involved in enforcing a no-fly zone over Libya, a policy Clinton reportedly advocated. The same poll finds Clinton rated more positively than other top administration officials. Obama receives a 54% favorable rating, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, 52%, and Vice President Joe Biden, 46%.

    Clinton Well Liked by Women

Clinton enjoys extraordinary popularity among women, and particularly women 50 and older. She also receives support from a solid majority of independents and 40% of Republicans.

Underscoring that views of Clinton and Obama are not one and the same, Clinton is seen in a favorable light by 45% of those who separately say they disapprove of the job Obama is doing as president. Naturally, she is also viewed favorably by 89% of those who approve of Obama’s job performance.

    Clinton’s Predecessors Also Popular

Clinton is largely following in the footsteps of two well-liked female secretaries of state who came before her — Condoleezza Rice, who served former President George W. Bush during his second term; and Madeleine Albright, who served during former President Clinton’s second term. Rice’s favorable ratings ranged from 59% to 63% (according to Gallup measurements conducted in 2005 and 2006) and Albright’s from 61% to 69% (between 1998 and 2000).

However, Clinton’s popularity does not approach that of Colin Powell, who served as secretary of state in George W. Bush’s first term. Powell’s favorable ratings were consistently above 80%, ranging from 83% to 88%.

    Bottom Line

With a 66% favorable rating from Americans, Secretary of State Clinton is more popular than the president, more popular than the vice president, and more popular than she, herself, has been for much of her time in the national spotlight since 1993.

Clinton’s popularity may be partly due to the nature of the secretary of state position, which is somewhat above the fray of partisan politics and focused on defending U.S. interests globally.

Clinton recently ruled out serving another term as secretary of state in a possible Obama second term and has squelched speculation that she might replace Biden as vice president. This has only fueled speculation about what her presidential ambitions might be for 2016. While Clinton’s broad appeal would seem an auspicious foundation for seeking the White House, the presidential track record of secretaries of state is not — the last time a former secretary of state won the presidency was James Buchanan in 1856. Perhaps that is one reason Clinton is looking to end her service on a high note, and in plenty of time to add another presidential-worthy credential to her resume, should the presidency be her goal.

  51. ABC Reporting that Pres Obama has signed a covert authorisation bill to support Libyan rebels, – BBC NEWS

This is quite serious if proven. Congress wil flip its lid.

  52. Obama signed the order, known as a presidential “finding”, within the last two or three weeks, according to four U.S. government sources familiar with the matter.

Such findings are a principal form of presidential directive used to authorize secret operations by the Central Intelligence Agency. The CIA and the White House declined immediate comment.

News that Obama had given the authorization surfaced as the President and other U.S. and allied officials spoke openly about the possibility of sending arms supplies to Gaddafi’s opponents, who are fighting better-equipped government forces.

    …………………………………..

This is quite dangerous as it could be in violation of UN resolution and also of lying to the american public.

  53. Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) is a good man. I think he really does care about the American people. That is my criterion. I don’t give a flying fuck if he is labeled as left, right, center, republican, democrat or independent. As long as he is for the American People and shows it by his actions that is good enough for me. I have no intention of being bamboozled with labels.

The great Frank Luntz was on FOX, pontificating as he always does about what politicians do wrong and why they should read his book which is the font of all wisdom. In this case he was asked whether Schumer was in trouble for what he said on tape and he gave the right answer. Yes. That much is obvious even to Lunz.

But then Luntz volunteered a solution. What was it? Schumer should apologize and he will be forgiven. Now that is a very poor piece of analysis from a guru like him. Why? Because the transgression does not lend itself to an apology. If he had spoken out of turn, if he had used intemperate language, if he had told a vile joke then an apology might be appropriate. But that is not the case here.

What Schumer did in that revealing off the record discussion was tell us that he was not interested in solving the budget problem which threatens the future of this country. Rather, he was solely interested in sticking the debt turd in the other party’s pocket so that he and his partners in crime can enjoy perpetual power.

That is not a careless comment which is washed away by a simple apology. It is a clear and unambiguous statement of who Chuck Schumer is. It is a blatant admission that he is NOT on the side of the American People, and is willing to let them swing in the wind.

If he follows Luntz improvident advice and apologizes (which he will undoubtedly do because he is such a snake–and a smarmy one at that, then he will be apologizing not for what he said, but for what he is. The American People cannot afford to forgive him for that.

Yes- This past Sunday evening I faxed “the Donald” all the months of research done during the 08′ Primary on Obama’s lack of a long form birth certificate. Also turned him on to Phil Berg, the attorney who attempted getting Obama and the DNC served with a TRO at the Dem Convention in Denver. Preventing Obama from accepting the Dem Nomination until he could prove he is in fact a Natural Born Citizen. Berg is his best contact for further investigation. As an attorney, his research and verification of evidence is superb besides the brilliant work he did writing the complaint he served early on on the Philadelphia court.

Of course, his complaint was dismissed as [the Judge ruled] (Berg) was not a Party of Interest and therefore, not an injured Party. Berg had included all the people (as represented in the complaint) who voted for Hillary in the Primary as the Parties of Interest as well as himself…stating the Constitutional proviso, a presidential candidate must be a Natural Born Citizen.

The Judge ruled, the person of Interest that should be filing a suit should be Hillary Clinton. Due to Obama’s theft of her electoral votes that took place at the end of the RBC meeting on May 31, 2008 in Washington, D.C. So that was that- The timing wasn’t right for her… Berg has not given up, however. He continues his lone fight challenging Obama eligibility for the presidency as a Natural Born Citizen. I feel really good having Trump as the money person Berg sorely needs to make this happen. He alone was up against the Big Money DC lawyers defending Obama with jurisdictional claims rather than just producing the Long Form of his birth certificate and disposing of Obama’s birther question once and for all.
They didn’t and they never will-

Berg has his heart and soul in this mission. I hope he and Trump become a Team and burst the media bubble that has been protecting Obama from FULL DISCLOSURE proving his place of birth all along.

“Likeable Enough” Hillary Clinton Now More Well-Liked Than Obama

    March 30, 2011

    ABC News’ Joshua Miller reports:

On a debate stage in New Hampshire, an iconic moment of the 2008 presidential campaign played out. Then-Senator Hillary Clinton was asked about her deficit of “likability” and joked that the question hurt her feelings but she would “try to go on.” The audience laughed and Clinton, looking over at fellow candidate for the Democratic nomination Barack Obama, admitted “he’s very likable – I agree with that.”

“I don’t think I’m that bad,” Clinton said, smiling.

Obama barely looked up from his notes. “You’re likable enough, Hillary,” he said.

Ah, karma. A brand new Gallup poll shows Secretary of State’s Hillary Clinton’s favorability eclipsing President Obama’s by a substantial margin. Sixty-six percent of those polled said they had a favorable opinion of Clinton versus only 54% who said they have a favorable opinion of the President.

Clinton scored her record favorability rating of 67% not long after the House of Representatives impeached her husband, President Bill Clinton.

President Obama finally and quietly accepted his “transparency” award from the open government community this week — in a closed, undisclosed meeting at the White House on Monday.

The secret presentation happened almost two weeks after the White House inexplicably postponed the ceremony, which was expected to be open to the press pool.

This time, Obama met quietly in the Oval Office with Gary Bass of OMB Watch, Tom Blanton of the National Security Archive, Danielle Brian of the Project on Government Oversight, Lucy Dalglish of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, and Patrice McDermott of OpenTheGovernment.org, without disclosing the meeting on his public schedule or letting photographers or print reporters into the room.

“Our understanding going into the meeting was that it would have a pool photographer and a print reporter, and it turned out to be a private meeting,” Bass told POLITICO. “He was so on point, so on target in the conversation with us, it is baffling why he would not want that message to be more broadly heard by reporters and the public interest community and the public generally.”

Just hours before the White House put off the original event, White House press secretary Jay Carney was defiant in his defense of Obama’s transparency record against criticism that it might have been premature.

“This president has demonstrated a commitment to transparency and openness that is greater than any administration has shown in the past, and he’s been committed to that since he ran for President and he’s taken a significant number of measures to demonstrate that,” Carney said in a testy exchange with Fox News reporter Wendell Goler on March 16.

The transparency advocates who presented the award to Obama say that the recognition is important, because despite the work left to be done, Obama has done a lot to change the government’s posture toward openness issues.

But others believed the positive reinforcement was more than a little unnecessary.

“I don’t feel moved today to say ‘thank you, Mr. President,’” said Steve Aftergood, the director of the Project on Government Secrecy at the Federation of American Scientists. But he said he understands the award to be “aspirational,” in recognition of Obama’s potential to do more on the transparency front.

“And in that sense, one could say it resembles the award at the Nobel Peace Prize,” Aftergood said. “It’s not because Obama brought peace to anyone but because people hoped he would be a force for good in the world, and maybe that’s the way to understand this award.”

  69. admin, those people are nuts. At least Obama people realized he would become a butt of many jokes if this was publicized.

  71. Rove shrieked on O’Reilly ‘it is a mistake, I say it is a mistake for Trump to go there’, there = birth certificate..What does Trump have to lose? He is asking for a BC and if and when it is produced he will just accept it. OTH Obama has everything to lose if he is hiding something.

  72. In any other life and time, Republicans would be jumping all over a candidate that couldn’t provide a long form of a birth certificate.

Rove helped Obama get elected. Rove thinks Americans are too stupid to see what is going on between the R held Congresss and Obama/WH.

    Screw you, Rove. You’re FIRED!

  73. Trump, like most of the media, is conflating two related eligibility issues. While it is certainly suspicious that the fraud has fought so hard to prevent the long form BC from being released, and he should certainly be required to release it, there is still no credible evidence that he was not born in this country (he could be trying to hide other information contained in the BC).

The more significant issue, and the one that the media stays away from, is whether the fraud qualifies as a “natural born citizen,” as the Constitution requires, due to his having dual citizenship at birth (which is not even disputed). “Natural Born Citizen” is not defined in the Constitution; however, there are advocates who claim that subsequent Supreme Court decisions have stated that a “NBC” requires both parents to be born in the U.S. Several cases have been brought and dismissed, but always due to lack of standing, not on merits. I don’t know if the advocates are correct, but it seems to be important enough for the SCOTUS to decide on the definition of NBC, and is the eligibility issue that the media should be investigating seriously. But it’s easier to mock the “Birthers.”

It’s unbelievable how much the fraud is getting away with due to media protection.

  74. Pawlenty said on TV yesterday that he believes that the BC should not an issue because CNN said they saw a copy of the long form BC. Is he kidding? Wherever one stands on the issue, that’s the most ridiculous statement I’ve heard so far. He has lost a lot of credibility with me by making that statement.

Radiation Traces Found in U.S. Milk

    By STEPHEN POWER

The U.S. government said Wednesday that traces of radiation have been found in milk in Washington state, but said the amounts are far too low to trigger any public-health concern.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said the government is working to bring the current nuclear crisis to a close without compromising the health of the Japanese people.

The Environmental Protection Agency said a March 25 sample of milk produced in the Spokane, Wash., area contained a 0.8 pico curies per literlevel of iodine-131, which it said was less than one five-thousandth of the safety safety guideline set by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The EPA said it increased monitoring after radiation leaked from Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant. It expects more such findings in coming days, but in amounts “far below levels of public-health concern, including for infants and children.”

Iodine-131 has a half-life of about eight days, meaning levels should fade quickly. “These findings are a minuscule amount compared to what people experience every day,” the agency said.

For example, a person would be exposed to low levels of radiation on a round trip cross country flight, watching television, and even from construction materials,” Patricia Hansen, an FDA senior scientist, said in a written statement distributed by the EPA late Wednesday.

The FDA last week said it will block imports of Japanese milk products and certain other foods produced in the area around the Fukushima nuclear facility because of concerns about radiation contamination.

An EPA spokesman said that while the agency isn’t certain that the iodine-131 found in the sampled milk came from Fukushima, its discovery is “consistent with” what the agency knows has been released so far from the damaged nuclear reactors there.

“We know we don’t normally see iodine-131 in milk. We know there’s been an incident where it’s been released,” the spokesman said. “And now we’re seeing it.”

Dairy industry officials stressed that products remained safe.

“Consumer safety is the highest priority for dairy farmers and dairy foods companies, and today’s report by EPA and FDA confirms that our nation’s dairy products continue to be safe to eat and drink,” said Rob Vandenheuvel, general manager of the Ontario, Calif.-based Milk Producers Council, which represents dairies in Southern and Central California. “We recognize the concerns of our consumers, and the U.S. dairy industry will continue to work closely with federal and state government agencies to ensure that we maintain a safe milk supply.”

There are different requirements for a child born of an American mother and a foreign born father. After the child is born, there is X amount of years requiring the mother return to the US making an official note of it when landed and re-registering the child.

I read the rewrites of the definition of NBC and what I noticed is they are trying to re-frame the meaning of the interpretation of NBC something the court would finalize if a case was brought before the SCOTUS. My understanding is a looser interpretation of the definition of NBC was underway for a decisive interpretation by the SCOTUS ultimately covering Obama.

I’ve read that NBC is irrelevant with the influx of so many cultures and ethnicities flooding into the US, the nbc rule is too antiquated and should change to honor those who have become Naturalized Citizens allowing them to be anything they aspire to be because this is the Land of the FREE-

I agree completely; I’m just saying that I haven’t seen any evidence that he wasn’t born in U.S. (although there are lots of suspicious aspects of his early life and it wouldn’t surprise me). However, it’s not disputed that he had dual citizenship at birth and that is the issue that the media is not focusing on. If the fraud somehow does release his BC, to great fanfare, everyone will continue to forget about the NBC requirement.

Just in case his wife doesn’t take Sarah Palin up on her offer, I’ll say it: Rick Santorum is a knuckle-dragging Neanderthal.

The former Pennsylvania senator and wannabe president was bad-mouthing Palin the other day for being a no-show at CPAC, the annual conservative gathering and showcase for presidential hopefuls.

“I wouldn’t have turned it down,” Santorum said of Palin’s decision not to attend, “but I don’t live in Alaska, right, and I’m not the mother to all these kids, and I don’t have other responsibilities like she has.”

All these kids? Santorum has seven, which by my count makes him two kids busier than Palin.

Oh, wait, I guess not. He’s father to all these kids, not mother.

And we know who stays home with the kids.

    [….]

Palin slapped back at her fellow Fox News commentator on Sean Hannity’s show. “Just because I’m a mom, that does not mean that I didn’t want to be there,” Palin said. “I’m the proud mother of five. My kids don’t hold me back from attending a conference.”

Palin expressed some sympathy with Santorum, saying, “I think the reports were much worse than what he really said. I think some things maybe were taken out of context.”

Then she went in for the kill: “I will not call him the knuckle-dragging Neanderthal that perhaps others would want to call him. I’ll let his wife call him that.”

It took a combination of Donald Trump’s air war and a New Jersey-based grass roots guerilla war to open television news up to the possibility that Barack Obama is not the writer, let alone the man, that he says he is. Into the breach went I on Tuesday morning’s always congenial Fox & Friends. (view here)

Trump’s actions are well enough known. Less known, but altogether effective, was the minor media coup pulled off by Dan Haggerty, a New Jersey architect and Tea Party activist, and some colleagues from his group, Americans for Liberty.
On Thursday, March 24, Haggerty videotaped a presentation by erstwhile terrorist Bill Ayers at Montclair State University. An attorney from Haggerty’s group got in the final question of the evening. He began by citing a highly favorable review of Barack Obama’s memoir Dreams from My Father…

First Lady’s District Last in Healthy Behavior

Results came from a recent Gallup index polling 436 districts

    By Lisa Balde

When it comes to residents with healthy behaviors, one Illinois district ranks last in the country, according to a recent well-being index.

And not just any district. First Lady Michelle Obama’s former home.

A recent Gallup-Healthways survey assessing U.S. residents’ health and well-being during 2010 ranked Illinois’ 1st Congressional District No. 430 of 436 overall and last for “healthy behavior.”

Illinois ranked 25, and Obama’s former district ranked much higher in “emotional health” and “physical health” categories.

During her time as First Lady, Michelle Obama spurred an initiative called “Let’s Move!” that tackles childhood obesity. Earlier this month, she oversaw a children’s street hockey game at the White House with the Blackhawks and Washington Capitals as part of the program.

The Obama Touch Gallup-Healthways interviewed at least 1,000 U.S. adults daily to get the year-long results. The survey was completed to “improve health, increase productivity, and lower healthcare costs.”

Letterman spent a minute or two talking about Charlie Sheen, then never addressed anything to do with Trump wanting to run for President, then at the end of their time together, Letterman brings it up and shunts the topic aside just as quickly.

When Letterman came back from the break, he spent another minute reminiscing about whether or not Trump was still around, that he felt badly that he didn’t bring up the topic during their time together.

What Letterman did was really really amateurish.

  101. I finally saw the Trump vs little oR debate. Gotta say, Donald sounds more like an Independent than a Repub. to me, which I like. Even though he is pro life, sounds like he wouldn’t tear down Roe vs Wade, which is important to me.

  102. I think the government shutdown thing is all bullshit–it will not happen . . . and more is the pity for that. As Eric Erickson points out, the Republican establishment has already caved in and wants democratic votes not conservative votes.
    ——————————————————————
The Washington Post reports that the House Republicans, instead of picking a fight for real spending cuts, are set to woo House Democratic “moderates” to vote for the GOP budget instead of conservatives.

    This is really amazing.

In other words, the House Republicans have decided to reject defunding Obamacare and reject defunding Planned Parenthood and reject defunding NPR. Instead, they will get House Democrats together and marginalize conservatives.

    Why?

Because the House GOP is desperately afraid of a government shutdown.

With no spine, the GOP will fold and show no leadership. This is precisely what leadership by fear does. So fearful of a shutdown, the GOP will sell its soul, betray its base, and out negotiate itself all because it is scared of its own shadow.

    Game over.

  108. http://www.gazette.com/articles/springs-115381-colorado-obama.html

A Colorado Springs “birther,” retired Air Force Col. Gregory Hollister, has Internet blogs abuzz with what may be an illegal foray into an online Social Security data base and how he obtained a copy of President Barack Obama’s draft registration from 1980.

“Col. Greg Hollister, USAF (Ret.) contacted the Selective Service, falsely impersonated President Obama, improperly registered his own address as President Obama’s address, and by this false impersonation and identity theft he managed to obtain a duplicate registration acknowledgement card with President Obama’s Selective Service information on it,” a blogger posted on gratewire.com last week. “This may violate several federal criminal statutes, and apparently caused the federal record of President Obama’s address with the Selective Service to be altered to show that he lives in Colorado Springs, CO.”

Hollister said Tuesday a private investigator, Susan Daniels of Ohio, gave him what is purported to be the president’s Social Security number. He then accessed the Social Security Number Verification Service to find out to whom it was issued and to access Selective Service documents.

The site allows registered users to verify names and Social Security numbers for employment purposes and warns that using it under false pretenses is a violation of federal law.

“According to the Social Security Administration, that number was never issued,” said Hollister, who challenged whether the president is an American citizen in a lawsuit the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear Jan. 18 without requiring a response from the White House.
However, that’s the Social Security number that appears on the Selective Service documents Hollister obtained.

Hollister and others in the birther movement claim Obama was born in either Kenya or Indonesia and that his birth certificate showing he was born in Honolulu in 1961 is a forgery.

Being born outside the U.S. makes him ineligible to be president, they claim, because the Constitution requires the president to be a natural born citizen.

Hollister said the Social Security number on what he says is Obama’s draft registration begins with the numbers 042, which would be issued to someone born in Connecticut, not Hawaii.

Last week, California attorney Orly Taitz, who has led the legal challenges to Obama’s citizenship, filed an amended complaint in her latest lawsuit demanding Obama’s Social Security records, attaching as an exhibit the draft registration mailed to an address in Colorado Springs, according to the Reality Check Radio Blog.

It is unknown if the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Denver is investigating Hollister’s use of the data bases and obtaining Obama’s draft records.

    Hollister denied breaking any laws.

“I was very meticulous and made sure everything I did was compliant with the law,” Hollister said, noting that he sent Obama an 1099 tax form.

A 1099 is an IRS income reporting form for independent contractors and free-lancers. Hollister did not explain how sending that to Obama complies with federal laws on the use of Social Security data.

Daniels said her doubts about Obama’s citizenship have only been reinforced by what Hollister found out.

Hollister said he started questioning Obama’s citizenship because as a retired Air Force officer he is subject to recall to active duty until he dies and he needs to be sure that Obama has the authority to give those orders.

    ——-
Yup, I agree with you. I think of Donald as more of a spoiler for the Republican party. Not right wing enough, has a lot of centrist ideas in my book, or I wouldn’t agree with many things he said. He might be conservative in not wasting money, that’s a good thing, but he also doesn’t seem to want to turn his back on those that really need help?

  112. On this BC issue, one thing we all know for sure,

Barry’s history and birth certificate has been hidden and protected in court from being seen…

no reason to do that for 1 million dollars if there isn’t something there that would hurt his credibility.

I am glad Trump is not letting the media shut him up.

  113. Dear Mr. ,

Today, President Obama delivered a speech at Georgetown University where he outlined his plan for America’s energy security. It turns out he is still touting nuclear power and still proposing that taxpayer-backed loan guarantees should finance a new generation of atomic reactors.

It also turns out the government is not the only one handing out loans.

Just days before the Japanese earthquake, nuclear power company Duke Energy extended a $10 million loan to Obama’s re-election convention committee.

Tell President Obama to reject the $10 million loan from Duke Energy.

Then forward this message to your friends and family so that President Obama hears us loud and clear.

Public Citizen is firmly opposed to politicians accepting huge sums of money from corporations.

President Obama accepting a line of credit from Duke Energy — a company that operates three nuclear plants and is negotiating with federal officials on subsidies to build a fourth — while formulating his response to the crisis in Japan and reviewing our own energy policy presents the potential for a disheartening and disastrous conflict of interests.

Furthermore, accepting this loan would seriously undermine the administration’s efforts to clean up electoral politics, which have included the Democratic National Convention banning direct corporate contributions for the first time ever.

Send President Obama an email urging him to reject corporate loans to his re-election committee.

    http://www.citizen.org/reject-duke-energy-loan

We need to let President Obama know that the best way to push for corporate accountability and transparency in government is to lead by example.

Thank you for all that you do,

  114. SORRY BUT WHAT A FUCKING CHEEK AFTER WHAT SHE SAID AND DID TO HILLARY……

Ladies’ Night: Michelle Obama Tells Girls to ‘Break the Glass Ceiling’ (except if your name is Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachmann)

Bright pink tablecloths, red carpet stars and 120 rosy-faced high school girls filled the East Room of the White House Wednesday night for a dinner to celebrate mentoring with first lady Michelle Obama. The event paired more than 20 famously successful women with girls from D.C.-area high schools to showcase the benefits of mentoring.

“You don’t always see what it took for many of us to get to where we are today. You don’t always see the thousands of hours that were spent studying or practicing or rehearsing, the years spent working for that promotion, the hammers used to break glass ceilings,” Mrs. Obama said. “All of them — every last one of them — had someone in their lives who took the time to encourage them and to inspire them. None of us are here on our own.”

Comedian, actress and author Ali Wentworth started the evening off by poking a little fun at the first lady’s other initiatives.

“I’m glad that everyone’s gathered here today in the East Room because we’re going to talk about something that I think is vital to discuss and that is childhood obesity. Millions of Americans are…” Wentworth began before a White House aide who was in on the joke stopped her. “Who has a garden? Who knows how to organically grow… No?” she tried. The aide then called out “mentoring!”

“Oh, mentoring! That is such a great idea!” Wentworth joked.

    The first lady poked back.

“When I told my husband that Ali was going to be the MC he was like ‘Huh, Ali’s pretty funny but sometimes she can be a little inappropriate.’ So far so good.”

Wentworth shouted from the audience, “The night’s not over yet!”

Other notable guests at the evening’s festivities included Academy Award-winning actresses Hillary Swank and Geena Davis, Olympic gold medal gymnast Dominique Dawes, and the founder and CEO of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Nancy Brinker.

The first lady encouraged the mentees to “reach back and pull someone else up. It’s never too soon to start mentoring.”

Earlier in the day Mrs. Obama visited Ballou High School in Washington, D.C., where she talked about growing up on the South Side of Chicago. She gave a short speech, then took two questions from students.

  115. Obama, more than any politician before him, is the face of the corporate takeover of America. Their puppet, their tool, their butt boy etc. Judas Iscariot to the American People. Anyone who fails to grasp that reality is either a corrupt co conspirator or a rube. There is no third alternative.

  116. Ladies’ Night: Michelle Obama Tells Girls to ‘Break the Glass Ceiling’
    ————————-
That was a misquote. What she really said is go into white neighborhoods, break the glass windows, do home entries, duck tape the inhabitants, steal everything in sight, so the public at large gets serious about crime in the ghetto, and so MO can feel proud to be an American for the second time. She is a flake. Just ask big bird. He spent some time with her on the Muppet Show. He has her number. (Source: The Whitey Tapes).

  117. The funny thing is–and I know the attorney, when MO made the statement on the whitey tapes, and there was blow back, they actually feared that her statements amounted to a hate crime, and they sought legal advice and planned a legal strategy if things moved in that direction.

  118. It would not surprise me if Obama, being the sick creep that he is, uses the pinnacle of this current bc furor to reveal his true bc, then laugh his sorry a$$ off if it appears to be legit. It will provide him a wonderful cocktail (make that COCK TALE) story for the rest of his fundraising days, and innumerable guffaws whenever he recalls the frustration he caused. In the meantime there is a heinous trend in the military. Imagine how it must feel putting your life on the line every day … having been willing and enthusiastic to join … having your bc on the ready because you knew it would be expected … having no problem handing it over at signup time for elimination of all doubt … and then having to “Yes Sir” the fuck who won’t show his.

Marine Corps Steps Up Suicide Prevention Efforts to Halt Deadly Trend

…No one is quite sure why suicide has become such a problem in the military. Martin said it could be the stress of repeated deployments with limited “dwell time” at home. Work problems and financial difficulties may also play a part. And as with Cpl. O’Brien, a broken heart was a common theme….
    http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/03/30/marine-corps-steps-suicide-prevention-efforts-halt-deadly-trend/?test=latestnews

Or it could be Zero. I can think of no greater mental torture than the hypocrisy of this situation.

So the bc issue is much more than fluff. Thank you admin.

  119. CAMPAIGN 2012: Obama’s donors (get use to Obama’s “top secret” donors)

The guest list was top secret for President Obama’s $30,000-a-head Harlem fund-raiser the other night. But sources tell us that those who helped raise more than $1 million for Obama included financier Orin Kramer of Boston Provident, New York State Democratic Committee Chairman Jay Jacobs with wife Mindy,Chelsea Piers president Tom Bernstein, and Evercore Partners’ Ralph Schlosstein and wife Jane Hartley. Also there: White House adviser Valerie Jarrett and Rep. Charlie Rangel, who did not have to pay.

  120. Notice the cheapo Rangel was there, the one Obama told to resign, i guess it was all smoke and mirrors.

  121. To honor the administration’s “no boots on the ground” lying ass statements, all covert U.S. personnel in Libya will work barefoot.

  122. If there is any doubt the corrupt politicos are the cause of World Consternation and Chaos, look no further than the Bushes and US Congress. The old geezers embedded as part of the furnishings in the congressional hallways double dealing the American public using taxpayer money, are as responsible for ME unsettlement as if they fired on the civilian populations themselves.

Anyone Remember When John McCain Went to Libya to Close a Weapons Deal? As if Arizona doesn’t have enough to be embarrassed about, now we have John McCain pontificating about Libya.

    March 28, 2011

So sorry Senator McCain, but there is this new-fangled-thingy called the internet, and it remembers everything, like your trip to Libya to put weapons into the hands of the guy that we are now bombing for using those same weapons that you helped him get. Nice.

Boston.com Aug 15th 2009 TRIPOLI, Libya – A delegation of US senators led by John McCain met with Libya’s leader yesterday to discuss the possible delivery of nonlethal defense equipment [think guns and bombs and stuff]. The visit and Washington’s offer of military equipment was another sign of the improving ties between the former longtime adversaries.

“We discussed the possibility of moving ahead with the provision of nonlethal defense equipment to the government of Libya,’’ McCain said during a press conference. He gave no details on the kind of military equipment Washington is offering.

    The story gets even better.

At the time — Aug. 15, 2009, if you’re keeping score — McCain hedged somewhat, expressing concerns about “status of human rights and political reform in Libya.” Here’s what’s amazing: five days later, the infamous Lockerbie bomber, Abdelbeset Ali Mohmed al Megrahi, landed in Tripoli to a hero’s welcome. At the time of McCain’s trip to Libya, all that legal wrangling that led to al-Megrahi’s release was transpiring. But it didn’t take the possibility of beefing up Gaddafi’s military capacity off the table.

John McCain, in favor of Gadaffi having weapons before he was against Gaddafi having weapons.

Netanyahu’s YouTube Gig Showcases New Media Policy

    Wednesday, 30 Mar 2011

JERUSALEM — Israel’s prime minister, who has long had rocky relations with the news media, took his message straight to the public Wednesday on YouTube, fielding questions in a live interview from users in 90 countries, including Arab nations that have no relations with the Jewish state.

Benjamin Netanyahu’s appearance on YouTube’s World View Project highlighted the Israeli leader’s recent embrace of new media, but also illustrated his tricky relations with the traditional outlets he often considers hostile.

Like other politicians around the world, Netanyahu actively uses Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to communicate with the public. His office maintains an active website and bombards journalists with text messages and e-mailed press releases.

But since taking office in 2009, he also has canceled the prime minister’s traditional holiday interviews with the country’s main newspapers and rarely holds news conferences.

Instead, he tends to make major announcements at staged events where journalists can’t ask questions, as he did this week in naming a new chief for Israel’s Shin Bet internal security service.

“He doesn’t want to deal with uncomfortable questions and he doesn’t like to be interrupted,” said Nam Barren, the country’s pre-eminent political columnist at the Yediot Ahronot daily. “There is no dialogue anymore. It’s become a monologue, with no back and forth,”

Netanyahu’s shunning of the media is ironic, since he has a reputation as a slick, charismatic interviewee. He is telegenic and speaks fluent American English.

Netanyahu’s rocky relations with the Israeli media came to a fore this week when he sued Channel 10 TV and the Maariv daily for libel over reports he accepted expensive flights, hotels and restaurant meals paid for by wealthy associates. Netanyahu has said he committed no wrongdoing.

Netanyahu answered two sets of questions, one in Hebrew the other in English, that lasted half an hour each.

The questions from the Israeli audience focused mostly on domestic and security issues.

Responding to a question about protests in Syria, Netanyahu said: “I would be happy if Syria would be democratic. We have nothing to fear from democracy in the Middle East, democracy is not the enemy of peace.”

He said upheaval in the Arab world is positive if it leads to democracy, but it would have a devastating affect on the world if Iran-backed militants prevail.

Asked about a Palestinian engineer who disappeared in Ukraine and later surfaced in an Israeli jail, Netanyahu said, “He is a Hamas member, held legally in Israeli detention.” Netanyahu added, “He delivered important information,” without elaborating.

Netanyahu’s relations with foreign journalists been touchy. He took only four questions at his annual meeting with foreign correspondents in January — an event marred by invasive strip searches of some journalists by security guards as they entered the event.

Earlier this month, Israel squandered a potential public relations coup when journalists invited to observe an arms ship the navy seized in the Mediterranean Sea were kept waiting in the sun for three hours because of Netanyahu’s security detail.

Wednesday’s appearance on YouTube’s World View Project provided Netanyahu an outlet with far fewer pitfalls. He’s the third world leader to appear on the program, following President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron.

Questions were selected from more than 3,670 queries submitted by YouTube users from nearly 90 countries, including from Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Egypt, Jordan and Pakistan, and voted on by others.

The questions, published ahead of time, included his handling of the issue of a captured Israeli soldier held by Gaza militants, the impasse in negotiations with the Palestinians, Israel’s West Bank settlement building and the recent upheavals in the Middle East.

Netanyahu’s office insisted it was not trying to get around the traditional media.

“We understand the importance of new media in the modern world — it allows the prime minister to speak to the people without filters, so that people can ask him question without filters,” said spokesman Mark Regev. “But I don’t think that it has to come at the expense of the traditional media.”

Danny Zaken, chairman of Israel’s press association, thinks it has.

“He’s constantly trying to find ways to bypass us,” he said. “We believe that every public servant should make himself available to journalists and their questions.” (Boo-Hoo)

Trump: World Has a ‘Muslim Problem’

    By Hiram Reisner

Potential 2012 GOP presidential contender Donald Trump says there “absolutely” is a Muslim problem in the world, and he “couldn’t believe” a mosque is being built near the site of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center. Trump also told Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly Wednesday night it is important President Barack Obama produce his birth certificate, and put the issue to rest.

In the first part of an interview, the continuation of which will be aired Thursday night, Trump touched on a wide range of social and fiscal issues, including his opposition to gay marriage; his pro-life stance; his opinion that U.S. borders should be militarized to deter illegal immigration; his views on union activity; and the need to be able to shop for healthcare.

O’Reilly asked Trump whether there is a Muslim problem in the world.

“Absolutely, absolutely — I don’t notice Swedish people knocking down the World Trade Center,” Trump said. “I came out very strongly against the mosque being built virtually across the street.

“The fact is, it was so insensitive when they announced the mosque in that location,” he said. “Don’t forget, that’s my territory — Manhattan. When they announced the mosque in that location, I couldn’t believe it.”

Trump said although there is a world Muslim problem, it does not reflect on all Muslims.

“And that’s the sad part about life, because you have fabulous Muslims — I know many Muslims, and they are fabulous people, they’re smart, they’re industrious,” he said. “Unfortunately, at this moment in time, there is a Muslim problem in the world.”

Turning to the issue of Obama’s birth, Trump said at first he hadn’t contested the president was born in Hawaii, but circumstances made him think twice. He also said it is wrong to demonize people who question the need for Obama to produce proof.

“People have birth certificates . . . now, he may have one, but there is something on that birth certificate — maybe religion, maybe it says he’s a Muslim — or he may not have one,” Trump said. “But I will tell you this: If he wasn’t born in this country, it’s one of the great scams of all time.”

On the issue of health insurance, when asked whether he thought people who can’t afford healthcare should have access to it, Trump said there is “a moral obligation to help people,” but he believes people who can pay should be able to go out and price healthcare privately.

“When I buy health insurance, I can’t go across state lines to buy it,” Trump said. “And I can make a better deal in New Jersey than I can in New York. We should be able to go out and price it privately. I don’t want to be stuck with one or two companies in New York. If I want to buy healthcare for my people, I should be able to bid it out.”

Turning to the economy, O’Reilly noted that part of the reason America has just gone through a recession is because of Wall Street actions, and he asked Trump whether he would crack down on brokers.

“I would not do that — you’re making it so tough for our companies, our ‘Wall Street people,’ to compete with the rest of the world,” Trump said. “Because you have guys in London, guys in Switzerland, guys in Hong Kong, that are giving very, very good deals — and they don’t have the kind of regulation we have here. I’m not a big regulation person.”

When asked about unions, and moves across the country to curb benefits, Trump said it is not a one-size-fits-all situation.

“I have a great relationship with unions — I understand what’s happening, let’s say, in Wisconsin,” Trump said, adding that Gov. Scott Walker might be right in dealings with his unions, but “I think it doesn’t necessarily apply to all states.”

“I’ve had great relationships over the years with unions, we’ve had collective bargaining . . . I’ve dealt with unions, because as you know, New York is largely unions,” he said. “I have great friends that are in unions, and heads of unions, so I haven’t had the same difficulty and problem. But I think you have to do what is right for your area.”

On illegal immigration, Trump said: “You either have a country or you don’t; you either have a line and a boundary, or you don’t.”

“Something has to be done,” he continued. “You put soldiers on that line,” adding there is no choice. “They’re coming over, and they’re climbing over a fence, and there’s nobody within 10 miles — and they’re selling drugs all over the place, they’re killing people all over the place — and we’re not doing anything about it.”

Trump said, however, it is hard to generalize about the illegal immigrants who are already in the country.

“You’re going to have to look at the individual people, see how they’ve done, see how productive they’ve been, see what they’re references are — and then make a decision,” he said. “You have some great, productive people — and then you have some total disasters that probably should be in prison.”

Trump then turned to social issues.

On abortion: “As you know, I am pro-life,” Trump said. “I used to not be pro-life; I’ve become pro-life,” adding he has not yet decided whether, if he was president, he would ban abortion. “I’m forming an opinion — I’m forming a really strong opinion, I’ll let you know in about three or four weeks.”

On gay marriage: “I’m against it,” Trump said. “I just don’t feel good about it — I don’t feel right about it . . . and I take a lot of heat, because I come from New York.”

“I say that we have other problems — we have other problems in this country,” he continued. “I don’t think a president should be elected on gay marriage, or not gay marriage.”

  126. nonlethal defense equipment [think guns and bombs and stuff].

    ===================

Huh? Why is this writer quoting McCain about NON-LETHAL equipment, then telling us to “think guns and bombs”?

Does he think he’s writing to people who don’t know what ‘NON-LETHAL’ means?

Or maybe the writer doesn’t know what ‘non-lethal’ means?

  127. Netanyahu said: “I would be happy if Syria would be democratic. We have nothing to fear from democracy in the Middle East, democracy is not the enemy of peace.”

    ============

    Good for him.

  128. I live in an area over run with illegal immigrants. We have many people here legally on tourist visas who work illegally and put their children in school. Our school taxes have doubled. These people fly into the country and fly “home” once a year to renew and return on another tourist visa….and they often leave their children behind. When will a politician address this lunacy. The problem is so expensive in education, medicaid, legal costs etc. that if every illegal was deported tomorrow, I believe the country would be out of recession….the stimulus would be so great.

  129. Carol, I’ll bet no one knows how much these lawbreakers cost. Just as an aside, I recently learned that in the state of NJ illegal immigrants get the in-state tuition rate at state colleges. It’s done on a don’t ask/don’t tell basis. Sorry no link, but the source was an NJN News broadcast. If they had not been given all the resources you mention @ 8:57 am, the college situation would not have come to this. And right now media, probably at the direction of Axelrod, is attempting to play upon sympathy of the non-informed citizens: poor little girl not allowed back in country, latino schools are the most distressed…. The reason Axelrod is interested is because BO mentioned to South American audience that he’ll press again for immigration ‘reform’. Sure wish we could ‘reform’ BO. And I may as well throw in the kitchen sink here. I’m more than annoyed that the Libyan Rebels are getting such US assistance in their grievances with their government. No such luck here with his own country. I’ll use the term Tea Party very loosely to include all those who are disgusted enough to write letters, attend demonstrations. If those Rebels lived here they would be called racist, and K’Daffy would have been told to ignore them:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) encouraged Republicans to stop listening to the Tea Party, saying the country doesn’t care about the grassroots conservative movement. “The country doesn’t care much about the Tea Party,” Reid said Wednesday. “There is a new CNN poll out today that says this very directly.” Reid was referring to a CNN poll released on Wednesday that said only 47 percent view the Tea Party in a favorable light.

  130. I said this last night and will say it again. What was of significance with Trump on O’Reilly was his question about why there were twp newspaper announcements of Obama’s birth. The mother was like 17 years old and the purported dad was a foreign student (and black) and they were not married (or were they? at least not when he was conceived, I don’t think) and these people were not rich and famous. So why the newspaper announcements? Are they forgeries?

  131. BO’s vacation in Brazil was a big bust; apparently Brazil’s president is not Bammy’s sweetie.

At some point in the run-up to Barack Obama’s just concluded tour of Latin America, which included stops in Brazil, Chile, and El Salvador, the US press decided that coverage of the trip would focus on expected friendly meeting with Dilma Rousseff, Brazil’s recently inaugurated president. …
Unfortunately for Washington the reality has departed from the narrative. Brazil, under Rousseff, continues largely to follow its own diplomatic lights. … However “warm,” “practical,” or “cordial” Dilma, Brazil’s first woman president, may be, she’ll be no push over when it comes to matters of war, peace, and economics.

  134. Bill and Hillary Clinton, Walter Mondale among mourners at Geraldine Ferraro’s funeral

    March 31, 2011

th Clintons and former Vice President Walter Mondale are among the mourners at a New York City funeral Mass for Geraldine Ferraro.

Mondale chose Ferraro as his Democratic running mate when he ran for president in 1984. She was the first woman to run for that post on a major-party ticket.

Dignitaries at Thursday’s funeral in Manhattan included former President Bill Clinton; Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton; former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright; and House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi.

Also attending were Gov. Andrew Cuomo; his father, former Gov. Mario Cuomo; and Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Ferraro, who also was a former congresswoman, died Saturday at age 75. She had a form of blood cancer.

Her family asks that donations be made to several charities including two myeloma research foundations.

  135. Clinton, Gates win no love on Hill

By: Jonathan Allen and Meredith Shiner
    March 30, 2011

President Barack Obama’s foreign policy “A” team — led by Cabinet secretaries Hillary Clinton and Robert Gates — failed to quiet criticism of U.S. military action in Libya Wednesday during a pair of classified briefings on Capitol Hill.

More than anything, the meetings served to underscore how little influence Congress has in shaping the war.

Lawmakers said they weren’t told much by Secretary of State Clinton, Secretary of Defense Gates, Joint Chiefs Chairman Michael Mullen or Director of National Intelligence James Clapper that they couldn’t read in the newspaper or see on television.

They said one dynamic was very clear: The administration doesn’t much care what Congress thinks about the actions it’s taken so far.

Challenged on whether Obama overstepped his constitutional authority in attacking Libya without congressional approval, Clinton told lawmakers that White House lawyers were OK with it and that Obama has no plans to seek an endorsement from Congress, attendees told POLITICO.

And, as if to add insult to injury, news broke during the House briefing that Obama had already signed an order authorizing covert action in support of the rebels. When asked about it after the first briefing, House members were unaware the president had taken that action.

“I have no knowledge of what he signed,” said Maryland Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger, the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee.

Clinton, approached by reporters in a Capitol hallway, refused to say why the order was not discussed in the briefing or whether she felt she had won over skeptics in making the administration’s case for engagement, which many lawmakers say has no clear objective and was undertaken arbitrarily with other crises intensifying across the globe.

POLITICO reported last Friday that Obama told senior members of Congress that the U.S. military would not be used to assassinate Muammar Qadhafi or remove him from power. But the U.S. and its allies have intelligence assets, such as covert agents, that are not part of the U.S. military.

Aside from the question of whether Obama should have come to Congress first, lawmakers’ top concern appeared to be the makeup of the Libyan rebels and the potential for U.S. support to backfire.

The briefers told Congress they are a loose-knit, localized and factionalized opposition lacking the basic military necessities of command, control and communication, according to lawmakers who attended the briefings, one for the House and one for the Senate, in an auditorium beneath the Capitol.

That information served to heighten skepticism from some members of Congress who worry that too little is known about the identities and intentions of the rebels — even as Clinton and Gates assured them that the U.S. is not arming the opposition.

“What’s going to happen? We get rid of Qadhafi, who’s going to lead? Who’s going to be in charge over there? Is it going to be people who have been against us from the outset? Are we supporting people like the Muslim Brotherhood or Al Qaeda or the Taliban?” said Rep. Dan Burton (R-Ind.), a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee.

Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) told reporters while leaving the Senate briefing that though officials were unclear about Qadhafi’s future, it is his “personal wish that Qadhafi leaves in a box.”

Though Clinton appeared to rule out a request for some sort of retroactive use of force resolution, like the one floated Wednesday by Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin (D-Mich.), one lawmaker told POLITICO that briefers said there was a possibility the administration would seek supplemental appropriations for the war.

Ruppersberger said there wasn’t any direct talk of a supplemental but suggested an appropriations request combining money for the war and aid to Japan is likely to be sent from the White House to Capitol Hill. Gates told lawmakers in the briefing that the U.S., through its support of NATO, was projected to commit $40 million per month minimum. But that figure, lawmakers say, is way below what will end up being the actual cost to the government, considering the length of engagement in the region before a full transition to the coalition of nations, and that the U.S. could provide additional funds outside NATO.

“We control the money, so they’re going to have to come to us. They’re probably going to have to come to us for Japan,” Ruppersberger said. “We have about 18 ships, 1,000 people helping Japan right now.”

While there’s deep concern about the cost, scope, duration and objectives of the mission, the frustration expressed by the largest number of lawmakers arises from the president’s decision to commit U.S. forces without seeking congressional approval.

“If they didn’t need congressional authorization here in these circumstances, can you tell me under what circumstances you’d ever need congressional authorization if we’re going into a war? Nobody answered [that] question,” said Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.). “The administration and its lawyers believed they had the authority under the War Powers Act.”

To be sure, the administration has its unabashed supporters in this operation.

“The president has acted appropriately to date,” said Rep. Dennis Cardoza (D-Calif.). “Don’t underestimate the amount of political opportunism around here on both sides,” he said of the president’s critics.

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), a member of the Intelligence Committee and a potential 2012 presidential candidate, said briefers told lawmakers the leaders of the rebellion were formerly generals and colonels in Qadhafi’s military. “They’re loose knit, … largely localized and factionalized.”

The administration officials declined to say if or when they would make a decision to give weapons to rebels, despite receiving pointed questions from members asking just that.

“I don’t know who these people are,” said Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Calif.).

Rep. Geoff Davis (R-Ky.), a former Army Ranger, likened arming the rebels to “going into New Orleans after Katrina … and arming street gangs in certain neighborhoods and wards” to keep the peace.

Without a vote, it’s impossible to tell whether a majority of members would support more intense action in Libya, but it’s clear the administration has done little to assuage its critics. Lawmakers expressed skepticism that they’d even be consulted if the administration were to take such action.

“Now he wants people like me to support him,” said one moderate Democrat. “Quite frankly, I can’t.”

Another issue which is seldom addressed is that illegal immigrants with fake SSN’s often pay zero federal taxes– when starting a job you fill out a w4 and claim the number of dependents. No proof is required at the time and if you don’t owe you don’t have to file. When i worked as a bartender in Manhatten every check I got was non-negotiable and when April 15 rolled around I got smacked with a 4 thousand dollar bill. yet those who lied and claimed dependents got a check every week. The math– 100 paycheck/week is 5300 plus 4 grand in tax liability that I had to pay. Hmm looks to me that the “undocumented” wokrker was making almost ten grand a year than me for doing the same job. Bitter? A tad.

  139. People Previously Apathetic About Tea Partiers Now Dislike Them
By Erik Hayden Mar 30, 2011

    http://www.theatlanticwire.com/national/2011/03/people-who-didnt-mind-tea-partiers-now-starting-dislike-them/36202/

Long ago, the Tea Party was somewhat mysterious to the American public. In a quaint statistic, a full 26 percent of Americans in January 2010 responded to a CNN poll saying that they had “never heard of” the movement. Times have changed.

CNN’s opinion research outfit has just released a new poll indicating that not only has everyone heard about the Tea Party (all but 7 percent responded that they had), but the movement has garnered its highest ever unfavorable ratings by the American public. In a March 11-13 sampling, 47 percent of respondents expressed that they didn’t care much for what they’ve heard about Tea Partiers, compared with unfavorable ratings ranging from 26 percent to 43 percent the previous year.

Interestingly, as The New York Times’ Nate Silver explains, the Americans who are now fed up with the Tea Party aren’t disillusioned former supporters. It’s those who have always had “ambivalent views” about the movement who have now soured on the Tea Party. In other words, the political middle has been slowly but steadily turning away from the movement even while core supporters (Silver positions them in the “low 30” percent range) haven’t abandoned ship.

So while the poll can be read as the movement is “running out of steam,” as Politico concluded, it appears that the Tea Party isn’t losing political support as much as gaining more opponents who never were on board in the first place. That would be the optimistic reading, at least.

    ————————————–

And the complicit media’s work is done.

  140. just watched that T clip again…definitely worth watching

  142. Blood of Innocents Now On Obama’s Hands. Do you believe he gives a damned? Do you? You can be equally sure that his lackeys in move-on.org have no problem with this either. Just as long as it is THEIR messiah killing innocents, it is perfectly okay–collateral damage. This is why I was wrong to ever believe that reasonable people can make common cause with these zealots–yes when Bush was doing the same thing, I honestly believed you could. It was one of my biggest mistakes in judgment, second only to voting for Carter. In Obama’s Orwellian vocabulary, saturation bombing is re-labelled kinetic military action. It makes a great epitaph for those who died and their loved ones. This strategy of promoting a fine little war for the reasons previously explained is highly problematic in that sense. The justification of avoiding a slaughter now collapses under it own weight. Surely, the Muslim world sees that Obama speaks with forked tongue–a dubious accolade.

You and I both know that anytime you have a war, innocent civilians get killed.

But Barack Obama told us this is not a war. This is just a kinetic military action.

The whole reason we are in Libya is to stop innocent civilians from being killed. It is the raison d’être of Susan Rice, Samantha Powers, and Hillary Clinton. They wanted to stop a massacre.

According to Vatican officials we have now killed 40 innocent civilians in Tripoli.

“The so-called humanitarian raids have killed dozens of civilian victims in some neighborhoods of Tripoli,” said Giovanni Innocenzo Martinelli, the Apostolic Vicar of Tripoli.

“I have collected several witness accounts from reliable people. In particular, in the Buslim neighborhood, due to the bombardments, a civilian building collapsed, causing the death of 40 people,” he told Fides, the news agency of the Vatican missionary arm.

War is hell. I guess kinetic military action is too.

“But,” you lefty hacks say, “these are unconfirmed reports. They are enemy propaganda.” So you are saying that Saddam’s Minister of Information was more truthful than the Gaddafi regime? Because you bought hook, line, and sinker all of his reports of innocent civilians killed.

  143. On further reflection, it becomes obvious that the radical left is interested in one thing–and that one thing is not principle, which they honor more in the breach than in the observance when THEIR man is in power. They make excuses for him every time he violates their putative values, that they harp about til hell won’t have it any more, when the opposing party is in charge. Critics call it hypocrisy, and they are right of course. But that charge does not identify their motivation, which is of course the critical factor. The quotation from Orwell tells you exactly who these people are and what they want. Howard Dean is a perfect example of this mindset:

    ———————-
That is exactly half–if you consider the margin of error. If the economy continues to tank, then depending on how they handle it, their numbers can surge. One of the reasons for this is the American People have the attention span of a flea, and the movement has no national leader who can defend them. But there will come a time when someone takes up their cudgel, and it may well be Trump. If Marco was ready, it would be him. I really think Trump may be the guy. I remember when Jessee Ventura was elected in Minnesota, as an independent, the Republicans and the Democratic leaders (Farm Labor Party) were befuddled. He was an outsider, he was a celebrity, he said what was on his mind, he was not part of the system etc. That is the spark that I see in Donald–if he can walk the big media gauntlet. Personally, I hope he can. There was an interesting exchange on this point last night, between FOX’s Obama apologist O’Reilly and Dennis Miller wherein Bill O raised concern about Donald being an outsider and panned the segment of the Trump interview which will air tonight in which according to him Trump said something so outrageous that will make your head snap back–the point being a Trump presidency would not work. Miller said something in rebuttal which made Bill O’s pinhead snap back–do you think what is going on now is working?

  147. Why Obama’s Leadership Poll Numbers Are So Terrible

    John Podhoretz
    03.30.2011

The eye-opening poll of the week comes from Gallup, which shows Barack Obama with the worst numbers of his presidency when it comes to “leadership.” Only 52 percent of Americans describe him as a “strong and decisive leader,” compared to 47 percent who say he’s not. That may not sound bad, but this is how Gallup puts it: “Americans have grown increasingly less likely to view President Obama as a strong and decisive leader since he took office. Roughly half now believe this aptly describes him compared with 60% a year ago and 73% in April 2009.”

This is especially striking because it comes at a moment when one would have expected a “rally round the flag” feeling in the body politic due to the fact that the United States has undertaken a new military effort. Even when Americans are unhappy about American involvement abroad—as they were, for example, when Ronald Reagan sought the overthrow of the Communist regime in Nicaragua—they usually recognize that a president’s decision to commit forces and spend political capital on something controversial marks him as a leader to be reckoned with.

But that has not happened here, and the reason is simple: Obama undertook the Libya mission with the bizarre promise to the American people and the world that he and we would not be leading it, even though we were. The day he decided to act, he said we were doing so at the behest of the United Nations. Hillary Clinton said it was France and Britain who talked us into it. And he went ten days without offering a comprehensive explanation of what we were doing in Libya. The Gallup poll was done before the president’s speech, but it’s unlikely to change anyone’s mind in this regard since it seemed in part designed to reassure people that NATO was taking charge and that our task in Libya was largely completed.

Who would think such a leader was a strong leader when he is practically shouting from the rafters that he doesn’t want to be a strong leader?

We tend to accept at face value the explanations of this which are proffered at the political level. Thus, in answer to the question why we have not done a better job of protecting our borders, the knee jerk response is because the Republicans want cheap labor and the Democrats want cheap votes. But there is a deeper logic to this, which most people miss. In fact, Lou Dobbs hit upon it when he was doing his broken borders series, which was one of the reasons he was asked to leave CNN. When we entered into NAFTA, that was not the end, it was merely the end of the beginning. When you have an economic union, a political union will ultimately follow. But the elites have not come clean on this to the American People, because this kind of a deal is highly detrimental to the interests of the American People. We cannot absorb the entire labor force of Mexico in one big bite, so it is being done under the auspicies of an open system, and the fact that the elites are keen on making a deal here to give citizenship to these illegals, to give them free health care, and now tuition foreshadows a much larger agenda. There were discussions between Bush and former Mexican President Vicente Fox (a former Coke executive) to merge the two systems and create a common currency–the amero. This is like what has happened in Europe, so it is not unprecedented. But it is likely to mean the death of the middle class and the emergence of a two class society. I could be wrong about that of course, and much depends on how fast the consolidation and merger take place, but 911 interrupted it before, and now the depression has put another damper on it. I hope I am wrong–but I doubt that I am.

    The Return Of Musa Kusa

    J. Millard Burr
    ******

Twenty years ago, give or take a few weeks, I was travelling north from El Fasher, the capital of the Sudan’s Darfur region, to investigate the issues of famine and food availability in Darfur’s far northwest. Some forty miles from El Fasher my vehicle was stopped by a curiously ragtag bunch of Sudanese military blocking the road to Jabal Meidob. I was told by the English-speaking officer in charge that my team could go no farther.

The officer himself was unusually pleasant and loquacious. As we shared a pot of tea, the officer informed me that in their battle to destroy the government of Chad President Hissene Habre, Libya had been arming the Zaghawa tribe that straddled the Chad-Sudan frontier. In turn the Zaghawa were selling arms in quanity to the Arab camel and cattle nomad tribes (abbala and baqqara) of Darfur. The Arab tribes were in the early stages of the battle for land with “African” Muslim tribes that would eventually lead to the great Darfur crisis that truly exploded in 1999. In sum, the region was crawling with armed bandits, and a fuse having been lit, the regional powder keg was waiting to explode.

In the course of our conversation, I was informed in no uncertain terms that the United States and the CIA were responsible for conditions in Darfur. To say the least, I was surprised because to my knowledge the United States Embassy in Khartoum had next to no interest in the region or Libyan activity therein. When asked to explain, the Sudanese officer claimed the man responsible for the chaos in the borderlands was one Musa Kusa (1949-), then a forty-two year old Libyan intelligence agent who reported directly to Muammar Qaddafi. Somehow the officer had learned that Musa Kusa was a graduate of an American university (Michigan State, Bachelor in Sociology, 1978), and he was convinced that all foreign students educated in the United States were offered (and accepted) CIA employment after graduating. Ipso facto, Musa Kusa was one of mine. A week later, I was on the road from El Fasher to the Fur heartland when I was again stopped and turned back. The reason was the same. The “rebels” were on the road, and once again the individual responsible for the mounting blooshed was the very same Musa Kusa.

One does not easily forget the Musa Kusa rhyme, and I later found that very shortly after receiving his degree from Michigan State Kusa was already a senior government official. In 1980 he was named Libyan ambassador to the United Kingdom but was very soon thereafter expelled for publicly stating that he was determined to assassinate two Libyan political figures living in exile in the U.K.

A decade later, Qaddafi was obviously pleased with the overthrow of the Hissene Habre regime and the role Musa Kusa had played in that affair. Kusa was then promoted through the ranks of the intelligence service (Mukhabarat) and the Libyan foreign service until he achieved the high rank of Minister of Foreign Affairs, which he held until a few days ago. Now, a man who has waded hip deep in the blood of African victims, and who has been tied to the Lockerbie bombing, has sought asylum and has been allowed to return to London from where he was so ignominiously expelled in 1980. One is left to wonder, What’s next? An honorary degree from Michigan State?

  162. So while the poll can be read as the movement is “running out of steam,” as Politico concluded, it appears that the Tea Party isn’t losing political support as much as gaining more opponents who never were on board in the first place.

    ==================

One factor may be that now some GOP associated with the Tea Party have got into office and are doing unpopular things (eg Gov Walker).

  169. Obama was born, as I was, before closed record laws and efforts to crack down on identity theft. Birth, marriage, divorce and death records were frequently published in newspapers because they were open records and free filler as well as interesting to some readers. To my knowledge the newspapers in Hawaii have never said what exactly their policy was at that time. Was it info given by hospitals to the newspapers? Was it info that reporters picked up from the county registrar of records? Did relatives (and parents) call it in to the paper? Was it all three? Did people have to pay for it like a want ad? Until the “how” of these newspaper announcements are known I do not have a clue if they are good secondary proof or not. But Obama still has not submitted a full and complete long form birth certificate.

I lived in Hawaii, and I have a kid, no hospital I know of takes it upon themselves to pay the cost and take the time to publish birth announcements. Not in my world.

Also, when my mom died, the hospital did not put her obituary in the paper, my family had to write it and pay for it. They didn’t do it because it was an important event, they did it because it was told to us we had to do it legally.

I never put an announcement in for my son, and I was thrilled when he arrived, but it was the very last thing on my mind at that time.

If it was customary for the family to write and submit such announcements, I wouldn’t put it past the White Guilt Grandparents(tm) to follow the custom, especially since the couple was married at the time of the birth.*

    *According to a Time profile,
“On Feb. 2, 1961, several months after they met, Obama’s parents got married in Maui, according to divorce records. It was a Thursday. At that point, Ann was three months pregnant with Barack Obama II.”

I lived in Hawaii, and I have a kid, no hospital I know of takes it upon themselves to pay the cost and take the time to publish birth announcements. Not in my world.

Yeah, but back in 61 it wouldn’t surprise me if hospitals provided the info and papers just printed them free. Up until say the last 10 – 15 years, the local papers did this stuff free. Obituaries are still free (unless you want to write up a memorial entry or something).

Without info as to how the birth announcements were published as to gathering, distribution and payment, Trump is just playing a guessing game there.

Which is something I’ve noticed with him in all these birther spiels he does. Don’t get me wrong, by now you all know I think asshole ought to produce the thing and I KNOW there’s something on there he’s hiding. I think the heat on him is delicious. But, when Trump throws out loose speculation it makes me question how competent he is with other matters he wants to address such as trade with China, Opec, whatever. NO DOUBT, he’s a hell of a lot more competent at anything than Zero and unquestionably loves America, but folks who sort of recklessly throw things out there don’t inspire a lot of confidence in me.

  177. when Trump throws out loose speculation it makes me question how competent he is with other matters he wants to address such as trade with China, Opec, whatever.

    ================

I dislike some of Trump’s positions on serious issues. But on this bc thing, if his purpose is to embarrass Obama, loose speculation may be as good or better than solid homework.

Also it’s possible Trump really was caught unprepared for the amount of interest the bc issue is getting.

(And I’m not sure how accurately Trump is being quoted, either.)

  178. Well, when he comes up with “you can’t get a DL without a BC; Would a hippie girl and a foreign student pay for an announcement?”, he’s shooting from the hip there. You can get a DL without a long firm birth certificate, and granny dunham may well have paid for an announcement if any fee was charged for such a thing, which it may not have been.

Yes, I appreciate the heat on obummer, but when he makes incorrect generalizations, it casts very serious doubt that he has an understanding of the legal / political limitations upon his action when he starts saying stuff like we’ll tarriff Chinese goods.

True, Trump is tossing out all the speculation, but then again, if Barry had any real history there wouldn’t be all these questions to begin with.

I am not sure how much I trust anyone in politics today (except you know who), but the things Trump has but out there are also questions I don’t have answers too either. I do trust someone that questions holes over anyone that runs in a pack.

Cool. The sound of their jaws hitting the table or floor must have been a blast.

  182. This is TRUE, at least in NYS.

“you can’t get a DL without a BC;”

So why are you dismissing it? When I moved from NJ to NYS four years ago I had to get a longform original birth certificate from the hospital of birth before I could get a valid NYS license.

And I couldn’t keep driving with the NJ license after a certain time so I had to jump through hoops to get the original document.

It’s not true in Mississippi where I’m from. I assume there are other places its not true either. You can get one with the equivalent of a COLB, a SSN & a photo ID.

  186. I sit there and say that with regard to Mississippi when in fact I don’t remember what they asked me for. I do know I didn’t have to produce a long form hospital BC because I’d never seen mine until only a few years ago when I was cleaning out my family’s home following my Dad’s death. I hadn’t realized that the US Department of State certificate of birth which was issued for my birth in a US Military hospital in Germany, was not my brith certificate. Its what was used for entrance to schools, et cetera.

  187. it casts very serious doubt that he has an understanding of the legal / political limitations upon his action when he starts saying stuff like we’ll tarriff Chinese goods.

Well, you’ve heard the interviews and I haven’t. He could be rattling off both subjects the same way. Still, I’d expect his actual treatment of the tariff issues etc to be much more thoughtful than anything that was just about embarrassing an opponent. He seems to have done well with his own finances.

    Not here in CA.

  189. “I honestly think the Barry announcements are 100% bs.”
    __________________________

Most likely the birth announcement is legit. In the 60s, the citizenship rules were a bit different. So many foreign borns were coming to the US to be educated as did Obama Sr. The children born of US Citizens and non-US Citizens in a foreign country were to be held to strict guidelines set at the time. Stanley had to register the birth within 3 days in the US which she did, in Hawaii.

It was further required she come back to the US within X amount of years to reconfirm the date of Obama’s birth on the mainland. There is no record of her coming back to the states fulfilling the second half of the original requirement assuring Obama’s citizenship.

So, the very best we can expect at this time on the birther issue is Obama IS a Naturalized Citizen NOT a Natural Born Citizen because his mother failed to meet the guidelines for US Citizenship for him when a child required at that time.

I think Stanley Dunham had her eye on the Indonesian man, Soetoro as the prospective step-father for Obama. She therefore chose another route instead of returning to the US. She allowed Soetoro, her new husband to adopt Obama and chose Indonesian citizenship for Obama as the way to go because of the requirements mandating only Muslims (and Soetoro is Muslim) be admitted to the schooling program.

(In refreshing my notes on the evolutionary rewrite of scholars over the years defining the terms “Natural Born Citizen” and “Naturalized Citizens” using the influx argument of many cultures and ethnicities entering the US over the last 40 yrs. To mean equal opportunities for “ALL” equally including eligibility for the US Presidency. Therefore, making the terms Natural Born and Naturalized Citizen synonymous, wiping away a very valid sticking point argued by the Founding Fathers themselves rooted in their Constitutional rule prospective candidates for the presidency’s sole allegiance and loyalty to our country alone be because s/he was born on American soil.)

This will be the crux of the argument before the SCOTUS IF it comes to that- where Obama’s eligibility becomes a case recognized and taken by the SCOTUS. So far, all of Obama’s birth certificate challenges in the lower Courts have been turned away and dismissed for various reason.

  190. chose another route instead of returning to the US. She allowed Soetoro, her new husband to adopt Obama and chose Indonesian citizenship for Obama

    =================

That makes sense. Or maybe she didnt’ have the money for the trip, or had other reasons for not making the trip — or did not understand the rules. Or maybe she didn’t think the status of ‘natural born’ vs ‘naturalized’ was worth making the trip for.

I agree that we need to look at the motives the Durhams would have had at the time — not project our ‘requirements for POTUS’ back on them. That would be TOO much of a conspiracy theory. 😉

  191. ‘Long form’ can be required for things other than DL. Someone posted elsehwere that his health insurance company required it (and he got it easily).

Also for passport — isn’t that also part of the controversy?

  192. There is a lot of stuff out there and without more info, no one will ever get to the bottom of it.

One fun to consider theory posits that they were all CIA operatives – Granny, Stanley Ann (which is why she was studying russian at the time), and Zero (Columbia operates a school dealing with foreign intelligence). According to a source I reviewed, it was claimed Soetoro (the step-dad), was some sort of colonel with the Indonesian army and a diplomatic liason. There’s a lot more to this verson of “WTF is up with this BC thing”, but if the facts are as represented, it’s plausible.

Not going down a rabbit hole with this, just thought folks who hadn’t heard of it might find it interesting.

I didn’t scream anything but I don’t think even Admin agrees 100% with everything Hill and Bill say or do. I also hated NAFTA and still do. I hate that Hillary campaigned for the fraud and is in his cabinet, yet at the same time glad she is because he turned out worse that I could ever imagine and I feel safer with her there.

You obviously have too much time on your hands. Usually I just ignore your comments, I will go back to that proven practice.

You really do need to get out of your mothers basement.

  194. By the way, I am from Milwaukee and actually worked in a hospital there and I can testify that the hospitals use to give the papers a list of births. It was all free and assumed people wanted to know. But there again, you need to be born in the hospital.

  195. But it’s all Bush’s fault! In a way I hate to say this but the war in Iraq did clear the way. I guess those Saudi Prince’s really could afford a war with Qaddafi!

    Gasoline up 100% under Obama

    ← return to Water Cooler

    James S. RobbinsPublished on March 30, 2011

Feeling pain at the pump? Gas prices have doubled since Mr. Obama took office. According to the GasBuddy gasoline price tracking web site, the price of a gallon of regular gas was around $1.79 when Mr. Obama took office. Today the national average is $3.58. The lowest average price in the continental United States is $3.31 in Tulsa Oklahoma, the highest is $4.14 in Santa Barbara, CA. Four-dollar-a-gallon gas has arrived on average throughout California, and a number of other states are headed in that direction.

We have looked at the motives. They have been proven via timelines on Passports, school enrollments, Obama leaving Indonesia headed to live with grandparents in HI- It all proved out-

If anyone is guilty of hypocritical theorys it’s you- always returning to conspiracy theorys as your cop-out. I spent the time doing the research, correlating abstract information formulating a positive trail followed by Stanley Dunham sending Barry to HI to live with his grandparents.

  197. Mrs. Smith: Stanley had to register the birth within 3 days in the US which she did, in Hawaii.

Of course, that’s assuming that she (or whoever) reported the accurate birthdate! Just to play devil’s advocate, for all we know, he was actually born several years earlier.

He really just needs to show the real, long-form birth certificate. That will have the MD’s name and the hospital’s name (assuming it was a hospital birth), and possibly the MD’s and hospital’s records could be checked to verify its authenticity (because I don’t doubt for a second that he would also present a fake long-form).

  198. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2011/03/31/herman_cain_media_scared_that_a_real_black_man_may_run_against_obama.html

Herman Cain speaks at a tea party event in Florida.

“The liberal mainstream media, notice how they have tried to destroy Sarah Palin. Notice how the more popular Michele Bachmann gets, the more they try to destroy her. You want to know why they go after those two ladies more viciously? Because they know that Michele Bachmann or Sarah Palin is going to draw a lot of the women vote away from the Democrat Party. They are scared to death of that, if they were to run and get the nomination. They are doubly scared that a real black man might run against Barack Obama.”

  199. That there exists a Republican who is competitve with Obama in raising big bucks is of great comfort to me. Let’s see how well the nation is informed of this fundraiser:

Gov. Chris Christie’s appearance at a Republican fundraising dinner has netted $10 million for the group that backs Congressional candidates across the country. Christie was this year’s marquee draw for the National Republican Congressional Committee’s annual March Dinner.
