ANNOUNCING – The Birth Of The DETOX PARTY On November 3, 2010

Dump Barack Obama and his “situation comedy” coalition of electoral organizing or face future defeats at the ballot box. That is the lesson that will either be learned on November 2 or will be learned after election day in 2012 or eventually in 2016.

On November 3, 2010 all who voted for Barack Obama will confront the consequences of supporting an inexperienced, unqualified boob for president. For some, this will be the moment that they will join the Detox Party. The Detox Party will be the half-way house to wean themselves away from the mass consumption of Hopium which they have been imbibing for years now.

But many Obama acolytes will continue to make excuses for the election defeats in 2010 and continue to support Barack Obama. We see this army of Hopium addicts still in the throes of Hopium psychedelia. Some examples follow.

One Obama Hopium distributor in 2008 by the name of Nate Silver (a baseball statistician) garnered a following to his website which purportedly dealt with statistical analysis of election polls information. This year Silver was hired by the New York Times to provide his mush to the masses. On October 20 Silver projected a 75% chance of Republicans winning the House in November. The reaction from his 2008 Obama allies was swift. In the comments the Hopium was strong:

“I just don’t believe it. I’m seriously not buying it. Come on! The average Republican house candidate this year is a lunatic. Are people really going to pull the lever for these extremists?

I don’t think so. There’s going to be a swing towards the Democrats and they will do far better than expected.

Dems lose 25 seats in the House and pick up about 5 from the GOP for a net loss of 20.”

Two days later Silver upped the Republicans’ chances to 80%. In the Senate, Silver guesses the Republicans have a 19% chance of a takeover although he admits that there will be many victories by Republican senate candidates and that “Republican prospects have been improving“.

A strong Obama supporter projecting Republican victories does not persuade Hopium Guzzlers. The mentality of the Hopium Guzzlers is stuck on stupid. The Hopium salesmen, such as the Head Kook, in 2008 predicted celestial choirs and endless victories.

“I and a few others were tweaking Markos Moulitsas of Daily Kos over this October 2008 post in which, reviewing the 2010 Senate map, he declared John McCain “delusional” for saying the GOP would cruise to “three or four or five” fairly easy Senate pickups in 2010. Instead, Moulitsas asserted:

“[O]ff the bat, we have 13 potentially competitive GOP-held seats, and few Democratic takeovers. So no, 2010 won’t give Republicans 5-6 “easy” pickups. That’s ludicrous.

Things will be much different in 2012 and 2016 when we’re slated to play HUGE defense (defending our gains from 2006 and this year). Republicans can brag about the gains they’ll make those years because chances are they will. But 2010? Heck no. At this pace, we’re headed toward a 65-70-seat Democratic majority in the Senate by the end of 2010.”

In 2012 and 2016 Obama Dimocrats will indeed have to play “HUGE defense” – of that the Head Kook is correct. But a “65-70 seat Democratic majority in the Senate by the end of 2010”? That’s ludicrous. The Head Kook now says that he predicated those numbers on “current trends” not changing and Obama being “half-competent in the White House”. The Head Kooks summary in 2008: “…we’ll have little to worry about in 2010. Our majorities should be safe for some time.”

The perils of Hopium consumption are evident. The Hopium however continues to be smoked, drunk, and injected. On Friday, Newsweek provided HOPE for the Hopium addicts. The Kooks immediately declared an “Obama SURGE!”

The main reason cited by the Kooks for all their excitement was that this was a Newsweek poll. According to the Kooks, Newsweek… well let’s quote them: “Normally, I don’t get too excited about polls, but this is Newsweek, not The Nation: not exactly a hotbed of leftists.”

To the Kooks Newsweek is somehow not to be considered another failed (sold for $1.00) pro-Obama enterprise of Big Media and therefore the failed cheap magazine has credibility when their poll contradicts every other poll and every bit of common sense. Hopium.

The delirium elicited from these Kooks over a picture of Obama in the comments is a sight to see – much like the happiness of a confirmed drunk when given a bottle of Thunderbird in a paper bag. The Newsweek poll (Obama popularity at 54% and the “enthusiasm gap” closing) was Thunderbird in a paper bag with even the pollster admitting that the Republicans will still “come out on top on Nov. 2”. Newsweek’s polls have always had a very pro-Obama tilt giving him and Dimocrats high approval numbers when compared to every other poll.

Clearly the overwhelming majority of these dead-ender Kooks will not join the Detox Party on November 3. They will continue the Hopium injections in the dank incense dens they inhabit. But… some, a few, might join the Detox Party. One even writes: Let’s try reality for a change. Newsweek’s poll is completely out of whack with every other poll.” The few demanding reality will potentially join the Detox Party but in the Hopium dens they will be shouted down.

Obama Dimocrats with withered veins intermittently bulging from Hopium injections will do everything possible to thwart the birth of the Detox Party. Every slimy trick will be employed to retain their grip on power. What these anti-Detox Party manipulators do not understand is that even in if they were to keep power with their slimy tactics the bottom line is that Obama and Obama Dimocrats will not have a “mandate”. By using slimy smear and fear tactics instead of running on their record Obama Dimocrats are not empowered to do anything other than keep their swank offices and access to donor dollars.

Even if they “win” they lose because these tactics are not an agenda. They can conceivably win with dirty tricks (such as in the Democratic primaries in 2008) but as we have seen with Obama, the illusory victory will be hollow because they stand for nothing but flim-flam. The 2008 Kooks and their “Googlebomb tricks” are tricks that produce nothing but disinformation. [Updated: There is other evidence of trickery, shenanigans and potentially outright lawbreaking. In New York some Dimocrats have been forced by court order to submit DNA samples in a voter fraud case, and there are suspected absentee voter fraud allegations in Florida.]

The dirty ballot games that Obama has played all his life (see Alice Palmer) are now the Big Blog Boys’ Onanism ideology and the primary weapon of the Obama Dimocratic Party. The latest trick:

“Seeking any advantage in their effort to retain control of Congress, Democrats are working behind the scenes in a number of tight races to bolster long-shot third-party candidates who have platforms at odds with the Democratic agenda but hold the promise of siphoning Republican votes.

The efforts are taking place across the country with varying degrees of stealth. And in many cases, they seem to hold as much risk as potential reward for Democrats, prompting accusations of hypocrisy and dirty tricks from Republicans and the third-party movements that are on the receiving end of the unlikely, and sometimes unwelcome, support.”

The fake third party support is a trick by tricksters. The Detox Party will not be a favorite of the Kooks. They will prefer to live in their world of unreality and hourly Hopium injections and chants of “O-ba-ma”. The Kooks will continue to think of people like Sarah Palin as somehow stupid and persist in denigrating “teabaggers” and portray the Tea Party as Nazis (denigrating with this comparison the evil of the Nazi Party). The Kooks will resist and attempt to destroy the Detox Party but some good Democrats will put the needle aside and seek reality. John Mellencamp might join the Detox Party:

“Former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin has found an admirer in John Mellencamp.

The legendary rocker says that while he doesn’t support her positions, he is impressed by the mark she’s made on the country since the 2008 election.

Mellencamp says people get the wrong idea about her intellect “just because she says things and winks.”

He says she “knows exactly what’s she doing” and “she wouldn’t be where she is today if she didn’t.”

Mellencamp gives Palin credit for handling the rough world of politics. He says “she’s pushing the right buttons” and “you can’t be stupid and do that.”

The 59-year-old rocker is no stranger to the political arena. He supported Barack Obama’s campaign in 2008 and asked Palin’s running mate, John McCain, to stop using his songs at rallies.”

Perhaps Mellencamp will compose the Detox Party anthem in praise of reality not Hopium.

On November 3, 2010 the Detox Party will be born. It will comprise many elected officials running for reelection in 2012 who finally understand that Obama must be removed along with the warped theories of demographic destiny and contempt for the white working class.

The Detox Party will be the reality half-way house for Obama Dimocrats. First comes Detox then a return to the winning Democratic Party and the coalitions of FDR and Hillary Clinton. The Detox Party will be one of many new parties. Lately there is a lot of talk about third parties.

Sarah Palin threatens to turn the Tea Party movement into a third party and vows that 2010 is a “last chance” for Republicans. Rush Limbaugh expects establishment Republicans to return to their old ways and is warning that the response will be a third party in 2012.

But the first “third” party to function in the 2012 cycle will be the Detox Party.

New Yorkers saw the comically succinct “The Rent Is Too Damn High Party” in action at last week’s gubernatorial debate. Perhaps the remnants of the Obama Dimocratic Party weakened by defections to the Detox Party will become a nationally comic “The Rent Is Too Damn High Obama Party”.

The Obama Hopium Guzzlers will continue to guzzle and inject Hopium. For others, the methadone clinic as a political party will soon open.

The

D

etox Party.

Detox

Coming to a reality neighborhood soon.

  1. Today’s Hillary article via McClathy – take note of the “moles” comment (think 2×4 Schumer and Doyle):

    http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2010/10/21/102375/clintons-the-only-democrat-who.html

Commentary: Clinton’s the only Democrat who can win in 2012

The latest buzz flitting among the Georgetown salons is that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will switch jobs with Vice President Joe Biden and take his place on the Democratic ticket in 2012. [snip]

As a rumor, it’s intriguing. As common sense, it doesn’t pass Logic 101.

Why, after all, would the world’s top diplomat want to chug from John Nance Garner’s “warm bucket” when she could be sipping a Pimm’s Cup in the Oval Office on Jan. 20, 2013? With the economy unlikely to have recovered the Clinton-era glow of the 1990s, it’s far more likely that Hillary will challenge Obama at the start of 2012. If she does, that smart money in the Democratic Party will flow into her coffers like water rushing over the Hoover Dam.

Ah, but what about Woodward’s prediction that Hillary will be a good team player and wait until she is 69 to make a 2016 quest for the Oval Office? Throughout the years since he chronicled the Watergate scandal with Washington Post colleague Carl Bernstein, Woodward has been a font of delicious speculations – not all of them based in reality.[snip]

Anyone who knows the Clintons well knows they have no love lost for either Barack or Michelle Obama. Both believe they were outmaneuvered by the Illinois upstart in the Democratic primaries because they received terrible advice from top campaign aides, including several they now believe were moles for Obama. [snip]

There is every reason to believe that the Clintons will deliver a comeuppance to the Obamas in 2012. By that time, both will look like eminence grises after the amateurish performance of Obama and his buffoonish advisers during his first-term.

The dozens of Democratic senators and House members now fleeing any association with the administration’s disastrous health-care and stimulus bills are unlikely to return to the fold. Many, indeed, already are urging the Clintons to reclaim their party before it is completely destroyed by Obama’s rigid ultra-left ideology.

A longtime Clinton insider says the couple is prepared to move their governing philosophy even more to the moderate center than they did after the sweeping Republican gains in the 1994 congressional mid-term elections.

“The Clintons may have started out as ideologues,” she said, “but they quickly realized that pragmatism is the true art of successful politics and they have been constantly fine-tuning their political philosophies.” The woman, a close friend of the Clinton for more than four decades, also pointed out another reason Hillary can’t wait until 2016.

“The constant travel and the never-ending demands of the secretary of state’s office are taking a devastating toll on her,” she said. “She turns 63 this month, but she’s starting to look more like 70 although she’s in excellent physical health.”

Here’s betting Hillary will look years younger and be all smiles when she delivers her inaugural address from the west steps of the capitol in early 2013.

  2. repost from previous thread:

“Bill Clinton is baffled. The former president’s friends say he is in disbelief that in the closing weeks of the midterm campaigns Democrats have failed to articulate a coherent message on the economy and, worse, have allowed themselves to become “human pinatas.” …

What was John-John Kennedy recorded saying at one time?

“Can we gloat now?” hahahahaha- Oh, yes! Bill must be distraught, 🙄 Obama Democrats are going to lose by a landslide in two weeks… I can hardly wait!

  3. Mellencamp wipes his butt with $100 bills now, but he wasn’t raised with money. The more I see the fallout from 2008, and the more I think of it in general, the more stunned I am at just how much of it was class-related. Coming from the liberal side of the fence (and I’m still a liberal at heart), I always bought the line about how class didn’t matter and it was all race. Well, it’s not. It is absolutely not. Class is the elephant in the room — the thing that white-collar white liberals won’t talk about because they are so anxious to distance themselves from Those Types. They take such comfort in their whiteness having been their birthright into the land of plenty that they get very threatened when poor and working-class white people effectively call them into question, scare them by implying that their relative lack of pigment doesn’t distance them from the hard realities as much as they thought it did. They are such incredible racists, and so smug about how they’re not.

I don’t know — maybe I’m giving him too much credit. I’m not a fan of his music much although it’s okay. And people get weird when they get rich.

  4. I love Bill, and I can see why he’s so gung-ho on reforming the Dems … but we gotta hurt them. I’m truly sorry Bill, but they have to hurt. You just have to trust us on this one, guy. We gotta hurt them.

  5. Janis,

Bill is just making sure that those who were loyal to Hillary at the first go ’round were recognized and given support. He is a Democrat who made good and did good for the party. Bill is Exhibit A of a Democrat Done Right.

BTW, great work, admin. Again and again.

  6. “With the economy unlikely to have recovered the Clinton-era glow of the 1990s, it’s far more likely that Hillary will challenge Obama at the start of 2012. If she does, that smart money in the Democratic Party will flow into her coffers like water rushing over the Hoover Dam.”

Absolutely! In a way, at times, I have thought Obama taking away Hillary’s chance for the presidency in 08′ has been a blessing in disguise. She stands a better chance the next time around because of the dismal job Obama has done helping citizens suffering under his allegiance to and love for banks and insurance companies more than the people who voted him into office.

“Anyone who knows the Clintons well knows they have no love lost for either Barack or Michelle Obama. Both believe they were outmaneuvered by the Illinois upstart in the Democratic primaries because they received terrible advice from top campaign aides, including several they now believe were moles for Obama.” [snip]

Yes, I had a post already written this morning elucidating that reminder but decided I wanted to stay positive. I didn’t want to bring-up old stuff because it was an important but devastating lesson learned. It still hurts thinking about it… so I canceled out my post. Many of us remember it, like it was yesterday.

“There is every reason to believe that the Clintons will deliver a comeuppance to the Obamas in 2012. By that time, both will look like eminence grises after the amateurish performance of Obama and his buffoonish advisers during his first-term.”

  7. If Bill Clinton had refused to do anything to help the dims get re-elected, he would have been attacked left and right.

This way, they can’t say he didn’t do his best and at the same time, without even trying, he made obama look like the cripple he really is.

It seems as if no matter how hard the Clintons work, it’s never enough.

  8. I’d better be there cheering for my girl in 2012, or 2016 … or else I will never vote for another Democrat even at gunpoint. Ever. They either give me what I want, or they will never see the interior of the senate unless they sweep up around the computers and water coolers.

  9. Your awesome post Admin shed some sunlight on my rainy, dark Sunday before the work week starts up again.

Glad that the ObamaCrats have their own logo now, it is like a brand that is put on cattle. I wonder how popular it is for the Kooks tattoos these days?

  10. “The constant travel and the never-ending demands of the secretary of state’s office are taking a devastating toll on her,” she said. “She turns 63 this month, but she’s starting to look more like 70 although she’s in excellent physical health.”

This long time ‘friend’ should be slapped for saying this…but my hope is after the downfall of the Dems this November, Hillary steps down from the SOS job, takes two years off to relax, have fun, and plan her campaign for 2012 with her Big Dawg.

  12. I agree completely, Mrs. Smith. But if she won’t do it or drops over, then they’d better hope and pray they can run her reanimated corpse or else they’ve lost me for good.

  13. OT, from last thread – someone posted a link to Taylor Marsh (ugghhh), and I followed it. I haven’t been there since she flipped overnight for BO (after letting bots come onto threads and harass us mercilessly).

They’re discussing what a mess BO has made of the country, and someone asked her, how does she keep from saying “I told you so”… She answered, “As for “I told you so”… Well, people remain extremely pissed off at me for being right all along, with the reality very obvious to anyone being honest. Of course, the Obama loyalists will *never* admit it, but that’s okay. Besides, “I told you so” assumes I need people to notice that what I’ve been doing has been dead on for a very long time.”

OMG. What revisionism. What a low-life. The woman who dumped Hillary overnight, long before the end, and actually moved her whole life from some western state to Washington, DC, hoping to snare convention credentials by sucking up to BO. Oh, wow, I won’t say it, but the “w” word is very close to my lips. My disgust for this woman just came back ten-fold.

  14. It saddens me at how dissapointed I am in celebrities I used to respect until they went gaga over obama.

Then again, I knew I loved Clint Eastwood for a reason.

Clint Eastwood “not a fan” of President Obama
    Sun Oct 24, 2010

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – The former mayor of Carmel is “not a fan” of the current president.
Clint Eastwood told Katie Couric during a CBSNews.com interview that President Barack Obama is doing what he can to stay in his job, but that he’s not actually “governing.”

Eastwood supported Obama’s Republican challenger John McCain two years ago, but the politically active actor is no right winger. He backed California Gov. Gray Davis, a Democrat, for example, during the recall campaign that eventually led to Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger being elected.

Nevertheless, publicly coming out against Obama — less than two weeks before mid-term elections — definitely puts Eastwood in the minority in famously liberal Hollywood.

Eastwood, though, is laying low compared to others in Hollywood who don’t support Obama. Kelsey Grammer recently launched RightNetwork, for example, and Jon Voight has been speaking at Tea Party rallies.

And then there’s Clint Howard, Ron’s brother, who stars in two online commercials: one that trashes Obama’s tax policies, and a newer one from writer-director David Zucker that goofs on Sen. Barbara Boxer’s famous “I-worked-so-hard-to get that-title” comment.

SF- That is a dream scenario for ordinary people. I don’t believe that is within Hillary’s make-up.

Hillary can work less without worrying about all the pressure of cataclysmic eruptions in the ME and her focus has to be on routing any chance BO will choose to run for a second term knowing he would be facing a devastating and humiliating defeat by Hillary in a Primary.

Hillary needs to stay in the public eye, much like Sarah Palin is doing now… Of course, she can make-up her own schedule and take a few days off in between if she needs more rest. She knows the drill- The public’s memory is relatively short, about 6 weeks. Six weeks would be the maximum for going to ground to recuperate while others do the topics and speech writing… and she may have her eye on writing another book about her life in the Foreign Service.

She has her eye on the prize. That is her incentive for getting up every day and carrying on… for us.

  16. I ignore most off-the-record comments by actors, and ignore all but shop talk by musicians I admire. The ones I most admire STFU and just do their jobs and work to remain apolitical. Music is and should be for everyone. Possibly why most of my favorite musicians are dead or recluses.

  17. Lorac, we have another quote from “Ms I told you so”.

Back when we were tongue in cheek proposing Zac Efron to the Supreme Court (here: http://www.hillaryis44.org/2010/04/11/zac-efron-for-the-supreme-court/ ) we wrote this:

Foreign policy experts who have never left their back yards and who believe that Hillary Clinton “has no base to keep, her political years [are] now behind her” will surely join garbage scow Dowd and jump on the Zac pack. These publicity craving armchair “experts” are upset with Hillary Clinton because she is making clear that Obama does not know what he is talking about – but they’ll forget all about that with Zac on the Court.

Ms “I told you so” now pretends she knew Hillary was still a potent force and that she never said Hillary “has no base to keep, her political years now behind her.

    Revisionism.

  18. Admin:

The demeanor of your post today is evidence we’ve come a long way since 08′- The time has finally arrived where Obama has dropped the draws of deception and is finally recognized in the altogether as the worst president this country has ever had- Your gathering and posting of a cross section of opinion Obama is a ‘walking dead man’ is stirring hope this is it for the Commander in Thief.

I want to thank you for posting such uplifting news for all of us to share in a brief moment of sigh and relief.

  19. Admin, right on! If I find out she’s trying to become a Hillary site again, I think I’ll go over there and let the “newbies” know what a fair weather “friend” she is. She can’t be trusted. Much like BO.

  20. admin, this post totally lights up my life! I stayed online late (for me) so that I’d have the chance to read it tonight. I love the Sarah Palin interview you included. Ironically I was half way through watching it when the phone rang, and this is [some of] what I heard: This is President Barack Obama calling for the DNC. I KNOW you have voted BEFORE. And I’m ASKING you to vote AGAIN. Your vote can make a difference.
    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
    Damn straight.

  21. I’m glad some of you kept records of what the opportunist Taylor Marsh (actually her real name is Michelle Marshall)had written in the past. I don’t think that she was all that invested in Hillary Clinton, other than she wanted fair treatment for female candidates. There’s nothing wrong with that, but bailing on Hillary as if she was doing something noble, especially after consistently attacking Barack Øbama as a poor choice for Democrats flies in the face of her believability and honesty.

Here’s a link to a Washington Post interview with her.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/06/03/AR2008060303852.html

Here’s a link to a blogpost about her done by some guy who writes his own blog. He really rips into her. It’s a little mean, but some parts are funny nonetheless. The guy seems to be an elitist snob with some of his comments. If you visit his website, he has additional links, and some funny artwork he did of Taylor.

  22. Admin, my comment made at 7:03 pm is in moderation. I have two links in it which is probably the reason. Can you release it please? Thanks

  23. I agree, its been a bleak day, the highlight was Admin’s uplifting post as well as Mrs. Smith’s continuing optimism.

It seems even the Israeli’s are hoping Obama gets his butt kicked in the mid-terms….according to an article in the J’Post they are worried what will happen if he doesn’t. Its clear Obama is NOT loved in Israel. There should be some country that Obama and his Kos Kids can overtake and set up their perfect kingdom in??

  24. That Taylor Marsh.. she is no fucking ‘I told you so’. I still remember the sinking feeling in my stomach at the post where she turned.. She had given clues and had changed the tone subtly already by then. She came begging for support and money after we all left but I never went back. Now for her to claim the mantle of ‘I told you so’ is beyond ridiculous. BTW who are those commenters on her blog?

I now remember you from the Taylor Marsh blog. I think you are located somewhere up in the pacific northwest, if I remember correctly. I recently saw that Wonk the Vote now writes articles on Taylor Marsh. She’s of Indian descent, too, right? I think that I remember your backgrounds being mentioned on that blog back in 2007/2008.

My comment that is currently in moderation is about Taylor Marsh, and how she promotes herself, builds herself up, and reinvents herself. One of the links in my comment has to do with that interview that the Washington Post of her, and she promoted on her blog. The other link is a scathing attack on her by another blogger who decided that he wanted to find out who she was, and why people bother paying her any attention.

    Nasty Nancy:

I know you are being bombarded with emails these days — but I wanted to share some good news. I just got off the phone with our strategists at Democratic Headquarters and they got back some really promising poll numbers in a variety of races. That means our ads are working and I can’t thank you enough for your help to get us there.

With this news, I immediately asked if this meant we could expand our advertising buy into more districts before the final week’s ad campaign begins. The good news is that there is still time, but the bad news is that we are still coming up about $75K short. If you help me with a generous contribution to my campaign today, I can help Democrats nationwide make sure they have the advertising resources they need for their final week campaign.

Everything is on the line and I need every committed Democrat in the game. If you have already given, thank you, but I need you to dig deep and give again. If you haven’t given already, there has never been a more critical time to give. Investing in a Democratic House is the wisest investment you can make today. Please — contribute to my campaign now — time is running out.

    Thanks for your support.

    Onward to victory!

They also mention all the stars there at Barack’s like Jamie Foxx and music…sure Bill is stumping in places without all the perks. Stupid kids will they ever learn.

Obama has them believing that he is NOT going to give all to the rethugs in Jan. like he did before…how gullible are these boneheads anyway??

I stopped visiting that disgusting site the Daily Kooks, those people are seriously mentally deranged.

Do these lunatics even live in the real world, or just their mother’s basement?

I am voting out all these demonRats jerks out… ALL of them.. the radical far left started their purge in 2006 with Joe Liberman, and in 2008, centerist/moderate democrat were told by the jerks that we were no longer welcome in the party. The loss in november has to be MASSIVE.

This is BEYOND party now… I will not be voting for any demonRat until it is purged of these radical far left loonies, these hypocrites, these snobby elitists, these arrogant incompetent idiots. As a Dingell said, they “want to control the people”

Never ever did I think this party of “the people” doesn’t give a damn about the people’s wishes, they don’t listen, they talk down, and actually think the American people are their employees, and not the other way around.

It’s someone else. She is definitely in the northwest in Washington State, or possibly Oregon. Wonk the Vote used to post on Taylor Marsh, and then most who posted there left with many finding themselves on the bitterpoliticz blog, which is now private. I visited the TM site a couple of weeks ago to find Wonk the Vote writing for her. She was waffling at the end as a Hillary voter who thought that Øbama should be given a fair shake and that we should follow Hillary’s lead. I couldn’t do that.

  43. Detox:

    http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1010/44093.html

On college campuses where Barack Obama made politics cool again, most students have moved on.

They’ve quit bugging their friends about change, they’re no longer trying to sign up new voters and the knock-on-door day trips now draw only the most hard-core.

One statistic from Rock the Vote, the most aggressive organization behind youthful political participation, illustrates the difference between now and 2008 — just 280,000 young voters signed up in its midterm elections voter drive, a fraction of the 2.5 million who eagerly put their name on voter forms two years ago.[snip]

In Colorado’s Larimer County, which includes the Colorado State University campus, voter registration drives resulted in 20,000 new voters in 2008. This year, only 1,200 came through.

The story is the same in Virginia’s Albemarle County, which includes 90 percent of the dorms at the University of Virginia. In 2008, 6,171 people registered to vote; only 2,714 new registrations came in this year, a number that could be troubling for the reelection efforts of Democratic Rep. Tom Perriello, who won 2008 thanks in large part to students who turned out for Obama.

A couple of hours away at Virginia Tech, Montgomery County recorded 1,441 new voters, far fewer than the 7,402 who sent in forms in 2008.

Such numbers belie claims by the White House and Democrats that the “enthusiasm gap” is closing and the 2008 hope mojo still runs wild. [snip]

Whereas 70 percent of students said they “definitely” planned to vote in 2008, only 35 percent said they’ll do so this year, according to a new Harvard Institute of Politics poll. And even in 2008 there was a fairly large discrepancy between those who said they were going to vote and those who actually did — about 51 percent.

Other polls suggest Obama’s star power has simply diminished among students. What was a 60 percent approval rating in May 2009 is now 44 percent, according to an Associated Press-mtvU survey from late September.

Young people also are marching to the right, identifying with Democrats at just a 9-point margin over Republicans, a Rock the Vote poll from late August reported. In 2008, that margin was twice as big.

I can’t believe the garbage in this article. Does this mean that no country should be recognized because of it’s multicultural background? If the majority in France are French but they have a minority of arabs living there does that mean it shouldn’t be called France?

  50. Jan – maybe they think it should be called ArFrance. But lookie here! Iran has just hurled itself back from the 6th to the 4th century!

    From Reuters:

“(Reuters) – Iran will not allow its universities to begin teaching certain disciplines it deems too “Western,” and existing courses will be revised, a senior Education Ministry was quoted as saying Sunday.

“Expansion of 12 disciplines in the social sciences like law, women’s studies, human rights, management, sociology, philosophy….psychology and political sciences will be reviewed,” Abolfazl Hassani was quoted as saying in the Arman newspaper.

“These sciences’ contents are based on Western culture. The review will be the intention of making them compatible with Islamic teachings.”

Hassani said Iranian universities will not be allowed to open new departments in these disciplines and the curricula for existing departments would be revised.

Iran’s hard-line rulers accuse the West of trying to harm the Islamic state by influencing the country’s young generation with “decadent” culture.

Pointing to the enrolment of some 2 million out of a total of 3.5 million university students in the humanities, in August Iran’s most powerful figure Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called for modification of these studies.

“Many disciplines in the humanities are based on principles founded on materialism disbelieving the divine Islamic teachings,” Khamenei said in a speech reported by state media.

“Thus such teachings…will lead to the dissemination of doubt in the foundations of religious teachings.”

Access to the Internet and illegal satellite television mean Western popular culture is king among young Iranians, a vital constituency in a country where 70 percent of the population is under 30 and has no real memory of the 1979 Islamic revolution which toppled the U.S.-backed Shah.

Basically, he looked and sounded drunk or on something… He is a disgrace to America.

I tried finding it on their site but could not.

  62. ABM90, the extraneous material was edited out so that the Save-the-world schedule of Hillary Clinton can be easily read.

  63. Another Democrat Party attempt at trickery, this time in Stupak’s district in Michigan. They are sending a mailer that seems to support the third party candidate who is a self-proclaimed tea party member, but in small writing at the bottom of the campaign literature, it states that he will be a “costly mistake”.

… But Democrats apparently aren’t relying just on Democrats this year. A mailing last week to voters appeared to come from Wilson, a self-described tea party patriot, featuring a photo of the candidate in front of a silhouette of a man wearing a tri-cornered hat and holding a musket. Wilson, according to the text, “would drastically reduce the role of Washington … (and) has no government experience.”
In the anti-government precincts of northern Michigan that may sound pretty positive. But the flyer concluded with the admonition: “Glenn Wilson would be a costly mistake,” and it was paid for by the state Democratic Party. Republicans suspect the Dems are trying to dupe voters who might otherwise go for Benishek to back Wilson, allowing McDowell to eke out a victory.

The party of Obama is NOT the democratic party, and true democrats must reject it root and branch at the polls and in the public square)

MICHAEL GOODWIN: Why the U.S. Is Turning to the Right
    By Michael Goodwin

    Published October 25, 2010

A Conservative friend wise about human nature and politics summarizes his views this way: “Liberals don’t think they have any politics. They think they are in a state of nature. Only those who disagree with them are unnatural.”

It’s a brilliant insight, and tells you all you need to know about the culture and political wars in America today. Less than two years after the arc of history seemed to favor them, the high priests of liberal orthodoxy are on the run.

They have overreached, and now they must pay.

But they are not going quietly or with decency. They are desperate and dangerous, astonishingly reckless in their attacks on the majority of Americans who commit the secular sin of disagreement.

Faced with massive public resistance to their demands for conformity, President Obama and his religious-like acolytes have given up trying to persuade skeptics. They are reduced to trying to crush dissent.

They are not embarrassed by the obvious double standards they are embracing or the false claims they are peddling. They are, as my friend observed, incapable of recognizing as legitimate any view but their own, so the end justifies the means.

Obama’s scurrilous conduct is Exhibit A of the panic on the left. Discarding the sunny-side-up mask, he crisscrosses the country in fear-monger mode. His base appeals to women, blacks, Latinos and students are identity-group politics at its worst.

He is not alone in having a worldview that depends on absolute conformity. Deviation is also dangerous to the institutions that form the backbone of the liberal establishment he leads.

The Juan Williams case says it all. Claims by the goon squad at NPR that he was fired for “expressing a personal opinion on a divisive issue” are transparent hogwash.

He and other NPR analysts and correspondents routinely express opinions that favor Democrats.

He was fired because he expressed an inconvenient opinion — that he and many Americans often associate Muslims with terrorists. And he did it on Fox News, the antichrist to the church of the left.

His fears are widely shared but don’t fit with NPR’s authorized view of the world. So it — he — must be silenced.

In firing him, NPR instantly created another example of why the country is turning right. Tens of millions of ordinary people have been roused to fight for rights they assumed they had. From health-care mandates to rising federal debt to confiscatory taxes to suffocating speech codes, they have correctly concluded their liberty is under assault.

To be sure, dissenters do not have a monopoly on wisdom or common sense. A partisan label is never a guarantee of righteousness, as the reversal of political fortunes in two years demonstrates.

Rather, the American system, we learn again, is intolerant of only one thing: intolerance. Whether its hammer comes from left or right, it always wakes the spirit of revolution. Freedom of speech, to dissent, to oppose, to fight back, is not just the literal content of the First Amendment. It is the essence of who we are as a people.

Obama, of course, infamously discounted American Exceptionalism when he was asked about it, suggesting he does not view our national character as unique. His mistake.

Still, we should be grateful. Just as Obama’s election was the result of George W. Bush’s failures, the awakening of the American majority wouldn’t have happened without Obama’s overreach.

Because he did, the right to say no — hell, no! — will soon be secured anew. Hold on for nine more days.

Rhode Island Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate: President Obama ‘Can Take His Endorsement and Shove It

This morning on WPRO Radio Providence, Democratic Rhode Island gubernatorial candidate Frank Caprio, whom President Obama has not endorsed, lashed out.

“I never asked President Obama for his endorsement and what’s going on here is really Washington insider politics at its worst,” Caprio said. “He can take his endorsement and really shove it as far as I am concerned.”

Deferring to his friendship with former Sen. Lincoln Chafee, the former Republican senator currently an independent gubernatorial candidate who endorsed the president in 2008, the president has not endorsed Caprio.

Recent polls indicate that Caprio and Chafee are in a tight race. According to the Providence Journal, Caprio was unaware that the president would not be endorsing him until a reporter told his campaign the news over the weekend.[snip]

Caprio today charged that the president is “coming into Rhode Island treating us like an ATM machine. I will wear it as a badge of honor and a badge of courage that he doesn’t want to endorse me as a Democrat.“

Just back in- More info on the Caprio/Obama flap. Walking through the door, just caught a blurb of our local nbc news commentator mentioning Caprio was supposed to accompany Obama in RI to a Mill/Warehouse in Woonsocket. When Caprio found out his engagement w/Obama was canceled an no endorsement was forthcoming. Caprio announced in plain words regarding the snubbing over one of our local radio stations… “Obama can SHOVE IT!” …

Heh- you think New Yawkers are tough… come to RI.

  70. Mrs. Smith – did the newscasters make any out-loud observation of BO’s appearance in that segment they aired?

  71. I apologize if this video has already been posted but I think it ties in nicely with the above article posted by wbboei regarding the “my way or the highway” mentality of the Comrade nØbama. I just watched it for the first time and I can’t stop laughing at the juvenile behavior of Behar and Goldberg (which isn’t to imply that I ever had any expectation of them behaving like adults). I challenge you to find a better metaphor for depicting the inability to debate with elitists. As soon as you confound them with facts, they either start screaming, they take their ball and walk away, or, as in this instance, they do both. Similar to how NPR “took their ball” and sent Juan Williams packing. November 2010 & 2012 can’t get here soon enough.

  72. Forgot to mention… Seeing Caprio was canceled for a $3 dollar tour w/Obama, I’ll bet our Obama/Kennedy boot licking mayor Dan Mckee accompanied Obama to Woonsocket. McKee is clinging to the hope Obama is going to come through for him on educational funding. A few months ago, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I spotted a construction crew adding a wing to a vacant parochial school in the neighborhood for his pet project Charter School. Our public school kids are left wanting for extracurricular school sports because of funding cuts and here’s our mayor going off on a tangent to nowhere…instead of raising money from corporate donations for additional funding.

My immediate thought was that she is a revisionist liar because George Bush, regardless of what one thinks of him, was attacked unmercifully. Some of those attacks veered off course, too, with his family, from Laura and his daughters, to the elder Bush and his wife, taking hits throughout his days in office.

    few comments:
we have never discussed politics until last night: one of my long time friends is in a very high position he says the hellcare insures those without it and that the financial reforms were badly needed. he makes good money but is out of touch with reality. when I said it all favored big business and the insurers he was ??? if all you listen to is the MSM then you are clueless about what is really happening in our country. I will start emailing him the truth and see if he changes his tone about the liar and thief.

my stepson says that obama is universally hated at school. they say stuff like “obama you” and one kid says “eats s***” each time you say obamas name (witnessed this personally). we live in a small town and it seems to have sunk in(at least with the 8th graders) that his presidency has not been a good thing.

There are legions here, including myself who are/will be delighted to realize you are back. Now you know what to focus on. May the PT work, and quickly.

We are talking about a video Mrs. Smith saw this morning on CNN. President Obama appeared to be very much under the weather. I’ve already made my humorous comment. Now I’m wondering if anyone has seen him today, and who’s in charge.

Michael Goodwin’s description is as good as any that I have ever seen about how many leftists operate.

  88. Megan Kelly saying that there is massive voter fraud going on across the country to keep the democrats in office. Of coarse, Obama is going to cheat…he cheated to get the nomination, so he’ll cheat to keep his power!

I vaguely remember some comments here about you going to Cleveland for something, but I didn’t realize it was health related. I hope everything goes well with you and your health.

Maybe whatever *they* inserted in the cyborg in chief’s brain, and which left that large scar behind on his head, is short circuiting? 😉

ABM90, the extraneous material was edited out so that the Save-the-world schedule of Hillary Clinton can be easily read.

I hope they give her the day off for her Birthday, at least.

Well, waddaya know…the Rethugs are starting to pay attention now that they want THEIR votes to count. They ignored our thousands of emails back in 2008 when they didn’t have a super conservative in the hunt, but now they speak up.

Too bad, so sad. If the Obamacrats are not prevented from cheating, they will cheat in 2012 too.

Well, when there was a Ho to hate, then the Bro was the best thing since ice cream. Now, with no Ho on the horizon, they’re bored again. They can spin as many stories as they want about Hope and Idealism and rainbows and ponies and how spiritually wonderful they all were, but that election was all about Beating a Bitch. Nasty, vicious, hate-filled propaganda that left them all nauseated and hung over, and now they can’t put down the xbox long enough to care. Cry me a freakin river.

  94. How is it that Joe Miller is going to have to release his employment records and Obama hasn’t had to release anything??? Why and how can this happen? Obama campaigned for two years yet no one asked for his records, how did that happen???
