Connfloyd: I lived for nearly four decades in Alaska, only recently moving out of state. Having watched Sarah for years I have a somewhat mixed view of her. She was/is tough as nails and did confront her own party. She exposed the head of the republican party early on for using state computers to do party business. When she won the govenorship the feds were also looking into corruption in the republican party as well as a company (Vico)that did much work for the oil companies. You might want to look up the corrupt bastards club to get an idea of the things that were going on in Alaska's government for many years. Sarah was able to work with the Democrats (before they turned on her and aided the Obama thugs) and pass higher taxes on the oil companies and get things rolling for a gas line. She absolutely stood up to big oil and the republicans. She worked across the isle with the dems on many things. She passed a one time $1200 dividend for Alaskans to help with the high cost of gas and oil at the time. This is not to be confused with the permanent fund dividend that Alaskans have been getting yearly for over 20 years. For all these things and more I have a great deal of respect for Sarah. She is real. I have spent a great deal of time defending her to the West Coasters I now live around. I must say though, having Sarah on the top of a presidential ticket would give me pause. After 8 years of Bush and now the totally incompetant fraud Obama I want someone who can articulate and execute their duties as president from experience. While I trust Sarah to care for and be honest to the people and country she still has a big learning curve to master. I have been hoping to hear her get into more detail when she talks on Fox etc. I know she can learn - she clearly showed that in her dealings in Alaska. At this point, I want experience and hopefully honesty in the next president. I want Hillary. If it were between Sarah and Hillary there would be no contest in my mind. Hopefully Sarah will use her new celebrity to learn and encourage others. She has plenty of time to run for president.

On another note, I just want to thank Admin and all the wonderful posters for keeping me sane all these many many months. Through reading here I have learned so much and realize I am not alone in my views.

From Hillbuzz, a compelling case for why Evan Bayh MUST GO. I am rold he has been guaranteed a job on K Street if that happens--just like his father. The new rumblings are that Dan Coates may run against him.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The ramifications of what the 60 Democrats in the Senate did the week before Christmas are still being felt…and understood by us.

We have told you that the behavior of the DNC’s Rules & Bylaws Committee on May 31st, 2008 was the permanent break we experienced with our loyalty to the Democrat Party. We have never looked at the DNC the same way again, and will never be blindly loyal to Democrats so long as we live. What they did at that meeting was so reprehensible and misguided that the DNC lost us for keeps.

All 60 Democrats in the Senate committed an error on that same magnitude on Christmas Eve 2008, when they voted on a Healthcare Rationing bill few of them read, and none of them fully understood. The week before Christmas, the hubris on display from these people was sickening. They worked in the dead of night, against the public will, on a piece of legislation written so poorly, with such contempt for the American people, in such a sloppy and amateur way, it might as well have been Michelle Obama’s Princeton thesis.

Disgusting.

It’s hard for us to ever turn against someone we like. Politics tends to get really personal with us. People who show us respect, and who work hard for people we support, tend to earn our respect and loyalty in return. We don’t turn on a dime, and we don’t abandon people we care about.

We cared about Evan Bayh. Very much. We really, really liked the man.

Until Christmas Eve.

Just as the Rules & Bylaws Committee Meeting in May of 2008 made us reevaluate the DNC permanently, Bayh’s behavior on Christmas Eve made us realize that there currently is no such thing as a moderate Democrat in the Senate. If there was such an animal, a moderate Democrat would never have voted YES on that Rationing bill. A moderate would have never supported a bill that partisan, that poorly written, which had to be forced through committees and voting procedures in the dead of night the week before a holiday because it was so detested by the American people. A moderate Democrat would have put the brakes on that madness.

No Democrat stood up against Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and the current president.

Hence, there are no moderate Democrats in the Senate anymore.

They are all Leftists.

We do not support Leftists.

We only support moderate Democrats, Independents, and good Republicans. We will never support far-right religious zealots, and we won’t support far-left socialist hacks.

Evan Bayh, we hate to say, proved himself to be a far-left socialist hack on Christmas Eve.

And the people of Indiana should boot him from office because of that. All this time, he’s been lying to voters, assuring them that he’d be a voice of reason in Washington, a moderate in the thick of Liberal ranks who would stand tall and firm whenever the Democrats stampeded towards something crazy and un-American. Well, Bayh had his chance Christmas Eve. He did not stand up to his party. He did not sound the voice of reason. He voted as a partisan hack with no regard for what his constituents wanted.

He deserves to be retired.

No matter how nice he was to us at a cocktail party. No matter how kind he always was to us at political rallies. No matter how hard he worked for Hillary Clinton in 2008.

Bayh, it seems, lost our support permanently on Christmas Eve 2008…and we’re approaching the point, very quickly, where we’ll be comfortable enough with this reality to hit the ground in Indiana and tell everyone we can that we’re former Bayh supporters who would have done anything for this man, who now want him removed from office because of his behavior on Christmas Eve.

We guarantee you that if Bayh and others like him are taken out of “safe” Democrat seats, there will be a major coup at the DNC that could very well result in Dr. Utopia himself being taken off the ballot for 2012. Democrats are feckless and self-serving. The Liberal coup that took over the party in 2008 has only the staying power inherent in major donors sticking with them. If the big Democrat donors see Bayh and his peers fall, hard, in 2010, the people funding the DNC will know their ship has hit one massive, Liberal iceberg. They will throw those Liberal loons overboard, lickety-split. Starting with the captain of the current ship, Dr. Utopia himself.

Bayh is in real trouble, folks.

And with him, the entire DNC and the White House too.

Indypuma, I think the idea of the tea party first started on a puma site if I am not mistaken. Its bad that the republicans want to take it over and it has been infiltrated by the republicans to take it over, I believe to snuff it out. It already is having trouble keeping it together because of the right wingers who are trying to derail it. I don't think Sarah is trying to do that. SHe is mad at the republicans, but she is a conservative. Her record in Alaska helping the people and making sure they get a fair shake is really good. She is also for the working man which most republicans aren't.

Indypuma, I voted for McCain/Palin, I could not bring myself to vote for the fraud and still cant. I did not however like McCain. I wanted to vote for Sarah and unfortunately McCain came along with him.
Hillary will always have my vote first, but I like Sarah and would be a lot happier it the Tea Party turns into an independent party. The republicans don't deserve to be in power anymore than the Chicago crime family. If it turns out that Hillary runs as the democratic nominee she will have my vote, my contributions, and my support but if not Sarah will get mine. I haven't seen a man yet that is interesting as long as Hillary and Sarah are on the horizon.

Up to this point, the Tea Party groups have felt they did not need or want a single leader. The idea was they would be harder for big media and others to shoot at. I took issue with that idea above, because I believe in unified command. But I could be wrong. Some of the key battles of the Revolutionary War were fought by irregular troops, and there was none better than frontiersman Dan Morgan. In the battle of cowpens in south carolina he kicked the crap out of the rutheless arrogant Tarleton who shared those characteristics with Obama. That battle proved decisive in the war.
