On Bill and Hillary commenting on the Obama health care plan:

While it's disgusting that they are doing this, what choice do they have? If they want to preserve Hillary's chances for further political life and also preserve the good will she is gaining as SOS how could they be critical of the Obama plan? It would be political suicide wouldn't it?. They currently have to live their political lives within a Democratic party that is largely Kool-Aid infused. I would think that doesn't give them a lot of options. The Obama Clinton hating White House would use any criticism as an opportunity to exit Hillary from the SOS spot or call her a traitor.

I'm not saying that they are choosing the best actions (As a supporter, I would prefer they remain silent), but unfortunately isn't that the way politics works?

I find it interesting that, at least so far, Hillary has just given broad support for a health care plan--I haven't read that she is praising the specifics of Obama's version--just that she is pleased a health care plan is being considered. I don't know if Bill is going to give specific support for it or if his speech will also present broad support for the idea of a health care plan--I guess we will have to see what happens. If he does praise the specific plan then I will too be highly disappointed. But again..what are their choices?

Just my two cents...

"Are you willing to pledge that whatever cuts in Medicare are being made to fund health insurance, one third of it, that you will veto anything that tries to undo that?" Tapper asked.

"Yes," the president said. "I actually have said that it is important for us to make sure this thing is deficit neutral, without tricks."</i>

SECRETARY CLINTON: You know what, I think Harry and Louise have thought better of what they said 16 years ago. (Laughter.) So I don’t think you’ll see Harry and Louise. You see the tea parties and interrupted town halls, but most Americans over the course of the last 16 years have really understood more about what was at stake in this healthcare debate. It’s not just about those who don’t have insurance. It’s about the quality of your insurance and the cost of your insurance. And for a while, people thought, well, we’ll haggle it through the insurance system itself. But that didn’t work. And so now there’s a readiness that we saw enacted in that close vote in the House, and I think that the senators heard that message.
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

Well, that is disgusting!

Something I am writing for another publication which might interest you. It might be titled the state of our disunion, or the winter of our discontent or where ignorant armies clash by night.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Note: as you can see, the nomination process was a sham. Soros controlled the Party and he made sure that Obama got the nomination. Hillary offered detailed solutions to our nation’s problems, whereas Obama had no real solutions- but oh so much hope. Many well meaning people responded to that emotion, and felt a sense of personal triumph when he took the oath of Office. They never investigated his background, never studied what he did in Illinois, and never dreamed that there was an uber-capitalist behind him pulling his strings. They settled for bread and circuses. Today they continue to defend him because they love him. He is their sun, their moon, their east, their west and nothing else matters. Others, who believed in him, and trusted him to keep his campaign promises, look at him now and wonder what became of the man they voted for. And then there are those who did not vote for him—the ones Chuck Todd would call racists. Many of those people have been bludgeoned into silence by demagogues who brandish the race card. It is all too reminiscent of McCarthy.)

But mainstream media bears the ultimate responsibility for this debacle. They know who Soros is and what he does. After all, Brokaw, Moyers and others sit on his boards. Also, they know from Shakespeare that the fool and the lover are blind. Nevertheless, they passionately embrace Obama, defend him at every turn, savage his opponents, harass private citizens and abdicate their role as journalists. Why have they sold out? First of all, many of them are insecure people. In their world, the first priority is to satisfy their editor, the second priority is to please their peers, the third priority is to titillate their audience, and the last priority is to tell the truth-- and by that I mean the whole truth. Are they all that way? No. Thank God, there are a few like Charles Krauthammer who have not sold out. They practice journalism the fashioned old way—with brains and hard work. But that is not what you see at NBC, MSNBC, CNN, NYT, Politico, Time, Newsweek and AP. Those organizations practice a new-fangled journalism where facts are slippery, practices are shoddy, and the herd mentality prevails.

Second, there is the matter of institutional power. For better or for worse, the two prior administrations held them at arm’s-length. Thus, what they saw in Obama was likeability, the promise of access and influence, and the rare opportunity to be part of the governing coalition. Now that is heady stuff. They were tempted the same way Faust was tempted to sell out and they succumbed. A democracy needs honest journalists—not propagandists. Nevertheless, they chose the latter course and now they live with the contradictions every day. The Administration whines whenever they say anything critical and they heel. The only one who does not is FOX. That is why the Administration wants to defrock them. A friend of mine is the former publisher of a periodical which was widely regarded as the best small town newspaper in America; his father was president of the Newspaper Publishers Association; and a pal of Washington Post publisher Ben Bradley. I stayed with him and his brilliant wife during the primary. And the three of us had many discussions on how and why the media came to betray its audience, itself and the journalist standards that once protected the community
