Racist Senator Chuck Schumer

Barack Obama is furious with black and blind New York Governor David Paterson.

You see, David Paterson is playing the “racist” card in order to get elected for the first time to the Governorship he inherited due to resigned Governor Eliot Spitzer’s problems.

Barack Obama wants to hold the “racist” card in reserve as his trump card to save his near death “health” scam.

Senator Chuck Schumer… well, let’s start at the beginning.

* * * * *

In January, the luscious Big Pink was under attack by the Hopium addled because of our unbridled opposition to Caroline Kennedy as successor to the great and wonderful Senator Hillary Clinton. The Nutroots did not like us blocking Uncle Ted Kennedy’s attempt to impose Caroline on New Yorkers.

At the time we wrote several articles on Caroline’s doomed hopes to be appointed Senator by intimidating Governor David Paterson with Uncle Teddy’s mighty girth. We also noted (mind you this was in January when everyone else was writing about how indestructible Barack Obama was) that there was an “emerging NObama coalition”. This is what we wrote in Kirsten Gillibrand And The Emerging NObama Coalition, Part I (before we were proven right):

Later we began a series (as of yet no Part II, but perhaps it is still timely to publish and there is still interest) about our privately heard information, again before the curve, that Senator Chuck Schumer is A, if not THE, secret hand against the Caroline power grab and why Hillary Supporters and Upstate New Yorkers would prevent Caroline Kennedy becoming the appointed U.S. Senator. The Schumer rumors have now been confirmed, after the beheading, by Big Media outlets.

In the above quote we cited our December 2008 report (Caroline Goes Plouffe). In December we wrote: “(1) The Caroline Kennedy power grab is running out of air due to the resistance from Hillary supporters and because of the stench fouling out from Chicago.” At the time we also wrote “Caroline will not replace the irreplaceable Hillary Clinton.”

Yup, we were right. We also quoted Steve Clemons at The Washington Note with this ludicrous bit of news which we include here for the comic value:

Obama started with the Daley franchise in Chicago and then built into that the Daschle franchise, followed by the Kennedy franchise, and is now working very hard to absorb the Clinton political machine which is larger and more potentially dangerous to Obama than any of the others. [snip]

There is a saying that “those who supported Obama got a President and those who supported Hillary got a job” — as many of her loyal followers are popping up with key positions throughout the government while many of those who helped Obama from the beginning of his candidacy are still in the cold. And then there is Kennedy — and that big family brand that connects with so many in the country, particularly in labor union America. Ted Kennedy will soon die – and Obama (and many other of the Kennedys) want to see Caroline in the political game in a high profile way to provide leadership for the tens of thousands of capable political hands that Kennedy’s machine has produced to be loyal both to her stewardship of the family operation and then loyal to Obama.

Enjoy this laugh too from Clemons:

But the plan Ted “may have had”, they say, had little to do with the New York Senate seat. It had to do with succeeding Obama in 2016.

The game plan — whether real or fantasy – is intriguing. It goes something like this. Caroline Kennedy would be appointed now to the Senate. She would perform well above the very low expectations many had for her and win handily the seat in the 2010 mid-term race in which that Senate seat needs to be contested again. She would then be in place until 2016. Ted Kennedy’s view “may be” that Caroline would instantly out-shine Hillary Clinton in the eyes of New York voters and in the American political scene and that in 2016, Caroline Kennedy would be 59 while Hillary Clinton would be 69.

I have no idea whether Ted Kennedy owned this narrative. All I know is that his friends and many key pillars of Kennedy Land believed that something along these lines is what animated Ted’s highly strategic approach to Caroline’s political future.

Enter Senator Chuck Schumer to stomp on the grandiose hopes and dreams.

Why did Chuck do such a mean ol’ thing to Barack Obama and Uncle Teddy and Caroline? Senator Chuck Schumer is running for reelection in 2010. Chuck Schumer did not want to have to babysit a novice Caroline Kennedy running for office alongside him in 2010. Chuck Schumer also did not want to run alongside a potentially 100% New York City Democratic ticket (Assembly leader, Senate leader, Caroline, Chuck, Governor Patterson all live in New York City) in 2010 – not with the upstate vs. downstate dynamics in New York State politics.

So Chuck Schumer stepped on the Caroline/Obama dynastic ambitions.

Chuck Schumer intends to get reelected easily and with big majorities and no one will stand in his way if he can help it. Chuck sees the problems Dimocrats face in 2010 and he will take no chances. Chuck will not go the way of Boxer or Reid or Dodd with tough reelection campaigns – not if he can help it.

And so Chuck Schumer, the U.S. Senator from New York is now working with labor unions and Dimocrats to get rid of African-American David Paterson.

Chuck Schumer hates Andrew Cuomo, the likely David Paterson replacement, but Chuck knows reelection will be easier with Cuomo at the top of the ticket than with barely double digits Paterson.

And remember, Andrew Cuomo cannot be the one to force Paterson out. Let’s quote ourselves quoting others:

Andrew Cuomo knows he cannot run against a black man in a Democratic primary. Andrew knows this, not because of Obama’s race-baiting during the 2008 primary, but because Andrew has been there, done that.

But as we’ve mentioned here before, that line of analysis seems to ignore the impact of Cuomo’s disastrous 2002 challenge to Carl McCall for the Democratic nomination. Aside from running an immature campaign, Cuomo’s decision to try to take the nomination away from a longer-serving official striving to become the first African-American elected governor in NY was badly received from the start.

Challenging an incumbent in a primary involves the same kind of too-much-in-a-hurry chutzpah. Challenging an African-American appointed incumbent who is trying, again, to become the first black man elected governor would arouse the same resentments.

A Paterson vs. Cuomo primary would devastate Cuomo. First of all there is no love between the Kennedy Dynasty and the Cuomo Dynasty, what with that messy divorce business. Second, Paterson will most likely have the African-American community united behind him. More importantly Paterson would have Cuomo’s former vanquisher, Carl McCall, doing whatever “work” needs to be done. McCall is on board with Paterson and has recently defended him.

H. Carl McCall, the former state comptroller and a Democratic candidate for governor in 2002, defended Mr. Paterson’s handling of the appointment, pointing out that Ms. Kennedy’s own uneven performance and the intense worldwide scrutiny of her bid were factors beyond the governor’s control.

“I think that to look at his governorship in the light of this situation would be terribly unfair,” said Mr. McCall.

* * * * *

With the above history in mind, let’s look at recent developments. But first one more trip down memory lane a very important quote from Big Pink:

Because of Obama’s race-baiting during the 2008 primaries, African-American politicians know they now can have friends and allies shout “racism” when in trouble and thereby defeat their white opponents. These fake shouts of “racism” in the age of fake demean the long and well documented history of racial bigotry. But like Obama and Burris the “racism” shouters (some like Bill The Bomber Ayres shout “racism” to scare off scrutiny and they are not even African-Americans) know they will not be punished for their bogus, politically motivated, claims of racism.

Recent developments

Obama wants to play the “racist” card to resuscitate the corpse of his health insurance scam. Obama is angry that Patterson is playing the race card, like a desperate riverboat gambler. Obama wants to play the “racist” card later, not now. Barack Obama thugs try to shush the black and blind Governor of New York:

President Obama’s aides were so furious that Gov. Paterson dragged him into a rant about racism that they sent a message sharply criticizing the governor’s comments just hours after he made them, The Post has learned.

Aides to Obama were angered by Paterson’s tirade on liberal talk-radio station WWRL on Friday, sources said.

Paterson blamed his political woes on racially slanted coverage and predicted the president would be the next “victim” of biased media.

Paterson might be legally blind but he is not politically blind. He knows the unnameable are out to get him:

Paterson is facing growing calls from union leaders and others to reconsider his chances of winning election in 2010.

Paterson, New York’s first black governor, is suffering historically low popularity. He blamed his and Obama’s problems on a white-dominated media that he said had embarked on an attack campaign.

“My feeling is it’s being orchestrated, it’s a game, and people who pay attention know that,” he said.

He compared his troubles to Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, the nation’s only other black governor, then brought in the president.

“The next victim on the list — and you see it coming — is President Barack Obama,” he said, citing his efforts to change health care.

Paterson said the health-care debate was an example of how the nation is “not a postracial” society, a phrase often proudly used to describe the United States in the wake of Obama’s election.

Paterson linking “racism” to the health-care debate is what really irks the Obama thugs. That “racist” card was supposed to be held in reserve. Paterson let the cat out of the bag.

Paterson is blind and his blindness is a problem which has and will continue to hurt Paterson (even Democrats acknowledge this). Paterson does not understand Braille and he must memorize all his speeches, no matter how complex the topic. But Paterson’s problems are not due to blindness nor blackness. Paterson has a host of other problems which we will not discuss here because they are not relevant to our discussion.

Paterson knows he has a big target on his back and he is responding from the “racist” race-baiting book written by Barack Obama:

Gov. David A. Paterson lashed out on Friday at critics who say he should not run for election, and he suggested that he was being undermined by an orchestrated, racially biased effort by the media to force him to step aside. [snip]

The governor, on a morning radio talk show, said that Gov. Deval Patrick of Massachusetts, the only other African-American governor, was suffering similar treatment, and he predicted that President Obama would, too.

“We’re not in the postracial period,” he told Errol Louis, a columnist for The Daily News and the host of the radio program, on WWRL-AM. “My feeling is it’s being orchestrated, it’s a game, and people who pay attention know that,” he added.

Obama supporters are running from the Governor for letting the cat out of the bag. How dare Paterson play the card Barack Obama owns!

Paterson’s poll numbers are “perilously low”, according to the New York Times. The numbers are so low, that as African-American Hillary supporters (who suffered and continue to suffer greatly for their apostasy), even African-Americans are “racists”.

Mr. Paterson suggested that Mr. Carter, who is black, was playing to white critics of African-American politicians by bringing up the subject. He also said that media outlets had mischaracterized what happened there. He said that he had not been out past midnight, as had been reported.

The governor suggested that it was part of a pattern of negative media coverage about him.

“We don’t have the kind of forces in the community that we had before,” he said. “In other words, our black media outlets, save your program and a few others, are the only ways we have access, and even our own reporters from our own community buy the public line, which is, ‘We’re going to get rid of David Paterson.’ ”

“The reality is that the next victim on the list is President Barack Obama, who did nothing more than try to reform a health care system” that, he said, constitutes 10 percent of the gross domestic product. It is “only because he’s trying to make change,” Mr. Paterson said.

Stop letting the cat out of the bag, David!

By the way, “Mr. Carter” refers to Domic Carter, not Jimmy. Dominic Carter knows how African-American Hillary supporters feel and felt (note from Big Pink to African-American Hillary supporters – thanks for your courage and integrity):

On NY1 Friday night, Mr. Carter addressed the governor’s suggestion that he was trying to curry favor with those who criticize African-American politicians. The governor had said Mr. Carter “likes to ingratiate himself with the folks trying to beat up on elected officials from our community.”

“I almost don’t know what to say,” Mr. Carter said. “The governor of the state of New York was calling me a modern-day Uncle Tom.”

“Anybody that knows my background — me, an Uncle Tom?” he said. “At the end of the day, I am a journalist, and we call them as we see them.”

Say “Uncle” Dominic.

The New York Daily News also wrote about the cat coming out of the bag:

Gov. Paterson said Friday he knows the reason behind the “crescendo” of calls for him not to seek re-election next year: it’s because he’s black.

Speaking on a morning radio show hosted by Daily News columnist Errol Louis, an angry Paterson blamed the white-dominated media for pushing him to step aside next year.

The whole idea is to get me not to run in the primary,” he said. Paterson complained there are not enough “black” media outlets to counteract the push.

And he suggested that Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, the country’s only other African-American governor, also is under fire because of his race.

“We’re not in the post-racial period,” Paterson said.

“The reality is the next victim on the list, and you can see it coming, is President Barack Obama, who did nothing more than trying to reform a health care system.”

“My feeling is it’s being orchestrated, it’s a game, and people who pay attention know that,” he said.

“We have a media that doesn’t report the news. We have a media that wants to make the news.

Stop letting the cat out of the bag, David. And “a media that wants to make the news” sounds like something we have heard before.

Oh David, what are we going to do with you?

Despite enjoying high approval ratings in his first several months in office last year, his popularity plummeted to as low as 18% after a series of mishaps in the late spring.

The latest polls show about 30% approving of the job Paterson is doing.

He also seemed to take a shot at Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, a possible primary competitor, Polls show Cuomo would trounce the governor in a match-up.

“If I run in the primary, the same people who are sitting in beach chairs while I’m in the oceans with the sharks will have to come in to the ocean – and they will be eaten alive.

They will be eaten alive by shouts of “racism”.

Which brings us back to Senator Charles “Chuck” Schumer.

How long will it be before Chuck Schumer gets called a “racist”?

Andrew Cuomo has already seen the sharks circling and yelling “racist”?

If Cuomo is called a “racist” can Chuck be far behind?

Orchestra conductor Senator Charles Schumer better watch out. The next “racist” he sees, might be in the mirror.

  1. The very latest from Paterson on “racists”:

Gov. Paterson is not backing away from blaming his troubles in office on race.

After complaining on a Friday radio show that he is the victim of an “orchestrated” campaign to push him out of office, Paterson told a blogger that some people are uncomfortable with too many black people in power.

“Part of what I feel is that one very successful minority is permissible, but when you see too many success stories, then some people get nervous,” Paterson told political blogger Gerson Borrero over the weekend.

Paterson’s comment is sure to catch the ear of the White House, which already asked him to tone down his rhetoric after he said Friday that President Obama will be the next target of a racist media.[snip]

Paterson created a firestorm last week after telling Daily News columnist Errol Louis in a radio interview that a racist media is trying to kill his chances of running for a full term next year.

He said he understands the criticism over the budget and the Senate leadership battle, but Paterson suggested to Borrero that he is held to a different standard.

“It seems I have to work twice as hard as others,” he said. [snip]

“I’ve had to endure this for 17 months and quite frankly on Friday when I spoke to Errol Louis on his radio show, it all came to a head,” he said.

Paterson made a similar complaint last summer at the national NAACP convention.

Paterson did back away from at least one assertion – that the media as a whole is racist.

“I don’t think the media has acted in a racist way, but I have felt stereotyped at times,” he said.

“The media is trying to control the politics. Not reporting it. They’re trying to control it. There are some folks in the media who think that it’s all right to racially stereotype.”

Meanwhile, a new Siena Research Institute poll released Monday morning but taken before the governor’s rant shows his job approval rating at 23% and his favorablity rating at 32%.

A whopping 68% aid they would prefer someone lese if Paterson runs for a full four-year term next year.

The poll also Attorney General Andrew Cuomo continues to trash Paterson in a hypothetical Democratic primary matchp.

Paterson would also be trounced by former Mayor Rudy Giuliani in a general election matchup, the poll found.

Cuomo’s favorablilty rating is at a sky-high 70%, while 52% would prefer to see him run for governor rather than seek re-election as attorney general.

    WOW Admin,

That is one dynamite article you just posted. Excellent expose. What I love about this site is how cutting edge your articles are.

To my way of thinking, bambi and his dims are going to use the race card everytime it suits them. They did it with the Clintons. They will do it with the media as well when the time is right. Patterson is running scared and has nothing else going for him except to use the same poisonous tool in order to shame the media and voters into voting him in again.

Schumer is such a disappointment. Heck, minus Hillary and Bill, they all are. It doesn’t matter what party affiliation, they all seem to be going for the jugular, lying when it suits them, threatening when it suits them. And all for their own selfish ends.

I think we should all call the advertisers on this. If it was good enough for them to ignore racist comments against Hillary, then it should be good enough for them to ignore racist comments on the “empty suit” as well. In other words, shame on them.

  3. Neil Cavuto just did a segment on Paterson and according to Herman Cain, Paterson is “fanning the flames and playing the race card” and avoiding that his problems are about his job performance. Herman Cain, an AA businessman and talk show person, stating that AA have to stop playing the race card…and there is a ‘hypersensitivity’ since O got elected

  4. Fantastic article per usual……….Patterson is really stirring up the pot and I think this time it will back fire.

  5. US does not rule out chance Kadhafi encounter with Obama

    (AFP) – 4 hours ago

OAK BLUFFS, Massachusetts — The White House Monday said President Barack Obama had no plans to meet Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi at the United Nations next month, but declined to rule out a chance encounter.

Even a passing greeting between Obama and Kadhafi would be a politically tense moment, as a backlash mounts in the United States at the hero’s welcome granted by Libya to freed Lockerbie bomber Abdelbaset Ali Mohmet al-Megrahi.

Obama is due to attend his first United Nations General Assembly meeting in September and Kadhafi is also expected to address the session, fueling speculation they could meet in the next step of improving US-Libyan relations.

“This year Kadhafi is the head of the General Assembly, and so I assume that at some point they’ll run into each other,” White House deputy spokesman Bill Burton said at Martha’s Vineyard, a well-heeled east coast resort where Obama is on vacation. “But there’s no scheduled meeting and no plans to schedule one.”

Scotland’s release of terminally ill Megrahi on compassionate grounds provoked fury in the United States among top political leaders and relatives of those who were killed when a Pan Am jet was blown out of the sky over Lockerbie, in December 1988.

Independent Senator Joseph Lieberman on Sunday called for an independent investigation of Scotland’s decision to free the Lockerbie bomber, expressing concern that British interest in Libyan oil may have played a role. Senator Ben Cardin, a Democrat, also raised questions about the freeing of Megrahi on compassionate grounds.
Both Lieberman and Cardin said on CNN that Libya’s celebratory homecoming for the former intelligence officer should have consequences.
Lieberman called it “a real setback for the anti-terrorist cause and takes our relations with Libya back to where they were for too long — a bad place.”

Obama on Friday slammed the welcome granted to the Lockerbie bomber as “highly objectionable” and US officials warned the conduct of the Tripoli government in coming days would have an impact in improved diplomatic relations.

“This year Kadhafi is the head of the General Assembly”

This has got to be a joke, right??? A disgusting one at that.

  6. “fanning the flames and playing the race card” and avoiding that his problems are about his job performance.”

He must be taking a page out of bambi’s rule book.

  7. WTF???? Obama has just appointed Denis Hughes, the AFL-CIO head, as chairman of the FREAKING NY Federal Reserve! The guy has no background in economics or monetary policy, he has a bachelor’s of science in LABOR STUDIES. He knows JACK SHIT about economics.

And he’s going to be chair of the most powerful fed bank in the country? I’m pro-labor, but that is FUCKING NUTS. In the midst of a horrible recession? You appoint THIS guy to head the NY Fed??!! It’s payback cronyism of the worst sort.

  8. is anyone else getting sick of this? What I have to say to Patterson is hon…if you cant stand the heat..never ever get into politics!
What Patterson (as many others) has shown is just the opposite of what they claim. Using the race card as he is, is in and of itself racist. I’d put money on it that if he was doing a great job, he’d have nothing to worry about.

…….I’ll really be glad to get rid of Baaalack Obama!(yes I spelled it that way on purpose) Good thing his maternal family is dead, I’d bet they’d be ashamed.

  9. H4T,

Kind of a pattern for him. Didn’t he hire a auto czar with no experience in the field as well? I wonder how much he owes both of them. Rather a nice juicy payback.

  10. Jan, as bad as his cronyism has been, this is the worst. This is not some obscure agency that will probably not do too much harm even if the guy screws up. The is THE NY FED BANK.

And he appoints some moron with no banking or economic chops while our whole economy is STILL on the precipice? I swear to God, shit like this makes me wonder if the wackos who say Obama was groomed to utterly destroy this country on purpose have a point. This is nuts.

  11. H4T,

I didn’t mean to make light of the situation. I’m just so frustrated and I don’t even know if that word is strong enough for what I am feeling. He is destroying a nation and the koolaid at the WH is overflowing.

    Kennedy should resign

Personally, I still think the Senator who is resigning should choose his OWN interim replacement (till an election can be held). That way the voters get continuity of the policies they voted for in the last election.

  13. H4T, That is truly weird. My guess the puppetmasters that are running this country don’t want anyone that knows what they are doing in any position, including POTUS. IT makes it easier to rob the american people.

Well, personally, as resident of the state, I don’t think so! Kennedy wants to be kingmaker. He doesn’t own the Senate seat. Whomever he would choose would necessarily have a huge advantage. It’s just a little bit hypocritical that the law was passed to prevent Romney from choosing a replacement if Kerry won, at the behest of the Democrats, for Kennedy to now want to revoke the law. Eff that! He could have retired months ago and we would have a new Senator today.

  15. Fox reporting that the dims could lose upwards of 20 seats in 2010, specifically saying that Reid is 10% points behind his opponent in a recent poll.

So I’m wondering how much dirty money they are spending on doing “Sara Palin Poisonous Research” on their Repub opponents already.

  16. Obama and Holder are opening an investigation into prisoner abuse now, I guess to get the republicans for messing up his healthcare joke.
He also is going to have his own torturers out of the WH. I think that is a grand idea, so eventually we can bring him up on charges of torture.

  17. confloyd,

More likely to fudge and change direction from all the bad news about the economy and health care. Anything to get the public on his side again.

  18. JanH, I been reading some of the blogs, people are pist that they are into this prisoner abuse thing again. Now this HIG interrogators especially selected by Obama is just plain crazy. He will probably put the NOI in charge of interrogation. BTW, he let another prisoner out of Guatanomo today, he was someone who threw a grenade and killed some of our soldiers.
This man loves the muslims. He will let them get away with murder.

  19. Not sure what Holder is thinking….he was OK under Clinton, but has really made some bad steps as AG.

  20. jbstonesfan, In this administration nothing is normal, not even previously normal people. I personally think there has been a coup, at first of the DNC, then now the nation.
Appointing people with NO experience is just plain stupid. Just imagine needing a 4 vessel bypass and you ask an orthopedic surgeon to do it. Thats what Obama is doing to our country.

Maybe all this HIG stuff is to get the HC monkey off his butt for a few days, but surely he could have picked a less volitive subject.

Why is MO staying in HyannisPort, while bambi is in Martha’s Vineyard, is their trouble in black camelot or does Bambi need time with his man friends??

  21. It looks like the good old USA under BHO is well on it’s way to becoming an Emirate if his ambitions are realized.Time to worry and take action America. He is in a hurry to push every one of his programs and load the system in order to disrupt our democracy and gain power by any means. It is time to impeach.

By ABM90. Chicago style community orginization is well on it’s way.

  22. I know many do not like Glenn Beck, and really, I think he is a man with numerous problems, but he has kept pressure on the Fraud and has put out some damn good video’s so I stand with him and support his freedom of speech..which is not for the faint of heart…

Backlash Against Boycott of Glenn Beck

    Sunday, August 23, 2009 5:32 PM

By: David A. Patten Article Font Size

Glenn Beck signs copies of one of his best-selling books for a fan. The campaign to oust him began after Beck remarked that President Obama is a “racist” after the president’s chastising of the Cambridge Police Department and Sgt. James Crowley for acting “stupidly” in arresting Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates. (AP Photo)

A left-wing group’s effort to intimidate corporate advertisers on Fox News’ Glenn Beck show appears to be backfiring as it triggers a wave of support from grass-roots fans rushing to defend the popular TV personality from the attacks.

Even before the liberal boycott of Glenn Beck began this summer, the best-selling author and TV host had became a ratings superstar, with his 5 p.m. cable news program pulling mega prime-time viewership numbers. Beck also had become a lightning rod for liberal groups who didn’t like his anti-Obama message and his staggeringly large audience.

But now Beck’s fame seems to be growing even more as a spontaneous, nationwide effort has sprung up among fans to defend their hero, including Web sites, Facebook groups, homegrown e-mail blasts, and individual telephone campaigns.

The reaction in support of Beck comes in the wake of the advertiser-boycott campaign launched by Color of Change, an African-American advocacy organization with close ties to the Obama White House.

Although the group garnered some success initially, it appears that it is making claims that don’t match reality, with several major companies claiming they never joined any boycott of Beck’s show.

Major advertisers such as Wal-Mart, CVS, ConAgra, and Sargento have directed Fox News not to air their ads during the Glenn Beck Program, according to Color of Change.

The group probably would have been dismissed as a gadfly were it not for its high-level connections to the Obama White House. Color of Change co-founder Van Jones now works in the Obama administration as the president’s “green jobs czar.”

Beck has been a fearless critic of both President Obama and Jones, whose association with Color of Change was said to have ended in December 2007.

Color of Change Executive Director James Rucker tells Newsmax that his organization wants Beck silenced for his July remark on Fox & Friends that Obama -s “racist” — an opinion Beck voiced in the context of the president’s chastising of the Cambridge Police Department and Sgt. James Crowley for acting “stupidly” in arresting Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates.

“It’s preposterous and absurd,” Rucker tells Newsmax of Beck’s utterance. “It’s insulting to black Americans, and it corrupts honest debate. Anyone who uses such a platform to spew such vitriol, whether Glenn Beck or anyone else, has no place on the air, and we at Color Of Change would use every resource available to us to remove corporate sponsorship from their platform.”

    Conservative Backlash

Beck’s enemies on the left, however, have awakened a sleeping giant in their campaign to destroy Beck.

Like the town hall protesters, Beck’s supporters are rising up to declare they’re fed up and not going to take it anymore. And joining in their counterattack are some of the most respected voices in conservative media.

“Glenn Beck is to be congratulated,” New York Times best-selling author Peter Schweizer tells Newsmax. “They only go after you when you are being effective — he must really be causing them problems.”

And Rich Noyes, research director for the conservative Media Research Council watchdog organization, says, “I think it tells us a lot about the style of politics coming from the organized left and this White House. They want to be so strenuous in going after their adversaries that they have a take-no-prisoners approach. I think it would be unthinkable if conservatives, particularly those affiliated with the Bush White House, had gone after a media figure associated with one of the other networks.”

Conservative icon and direct-marketing expert Richard Viguerie tells Newsmax: “That’s Chicago politics. We’re seeing the Chicago-ization of politics. We hear how dangerous it is for some of these people to come in the vicinity of the president with a weapon. Then we see the chairman of a powerful committee, Henry Waxman, issuing subpoenas to 50 insurance executives for their corporate records. That’s how they play the game. They will use any method they can to attain power and then hold onto that power. They tried to do the same with Rush Limbaugh, but Rush Limbaugh is too big for them to handle. This is how Democrats operate.”

On Thursday, DC Examiner editorial page editor Mark Tapscott wrote: “Funny, I don’t recall that the First Amendment guarantees freedom of expression to everybody except those whose opinions the four members of ColorofChange.org find ‘repulsive and divisive.’”

Tapscott called on readers to conduct a reverse boycott against the companies bowing to left-wing pressure, who are pulling their ads from Beck’s program. Those companies, Tapscott says, “are aiding and abetting a vicious, political campaign to slander him by an outfit apparently created for just such a purpose.”

A reverse boycott is precisely what’s taking place.

On Aug. 16, Beck supporter John Hill launched a Web site, DefendGlenn.com. Five days later, the site had recorded 1.9 million visits, racked up 1,033 Twitter followers, and garnered 5,800 user comments on its “Support Wall,” Hill says.

“Let your voice be heard! Fight back against the lies and the extremist boycott of Glenn Beck,” the site declares.

DefendGlenn.com provides contact information for companies that have pulled their advertising. It also lists and encourages the companies who have stuck with the Beck program.

“We launched DefendGlenn basically just to counter a lot of the distortions and lies that were put out by this group Color of Change, which we saw weren’t being countered at all,” Hill tells Newsmax.

Among the messages fans left on the DefendGlenn “Support Wall” to show their support for Beck:

“Freedom of speech applies to all speech, even those from the right,” wrote Matt Elmore of Woodbridge, Va.

“You are not alone, but like Gen. Washington, out in front of the troops,” wrote Michael Lyon of Estero, Fla.

“Never give up,” Leonor Godwin of Stephenville, Texas, wrote him. “They are trying to break you. You are our inspiration and our rock.”

Hill also tells Newsmax he has received 5,000 e-mails from people who tell him they are canceling their Geico insurance policy because the company has joined the boycott against Beck, and about 6,500 e-mails from consumers who say they never will buy a Sargento product again.

“I don’t want to do that,” Hill tells Newsmax. “I think boycotts are stupid. But if they’re going to join the boycott, boycotts work two ways. Earlier in the week, the companies were saying, ‘Yeah we’re dropping the ads.’ But as soon as people started getting in touch with them, they started denying they were dropping anything.'”

Other Beck supporters also are getting into the act. They include an upstate New York stay-at-home mom who became alarmed when she saw the orchestrated campaign to make one of the most independent voices in American media a pariah. Already a member of the 912 organization Beck initiated to recapture the nonpartisan spirit of unity the nation experienced after the 9/11 terror attacks, she created SupportGlennBeck.com.

The site includes a petition that states: “Through his radio and television show, he promotes God, family, and country — which resonates with a majority of Americans.

“There are some people who have an ideological problem with Glenn Beck. These people will not be satisfied until voices such as Glenn’s are silenced. For the millions of us who share Glenn’s values, there is nothing more frightening than losing our forum,” the petition states.

The growing pro-Beck movement has also reached social networking sites. One example: Beck supporter Doug Edelman of St. Louis has established a new Facebook group, “Defend Glenn Beck Against Thug Inspired Boycott.” During its first week, more than 790 members joined the group, which includes a statement of support for Beck and lists contact information for companies that are said to be boycotting his show.

    Exaggerated Boycotts

The anti-Beck activists claim that more than 20 advertisers have dropped the Beck program. Hill and others on the pro-Beck side dispute say Color of Change has greatly exaggerated the effect of its boycott.

Many of the companies the organization lists now deny they have anything to do with the boycott. Newsmax contacted Procter & Gamble, Progressive Insurance, SC Johnson, and Radio Shack, all of which said they have not directed Fox News to pull their ads from the Glenn Beck Program, as Color of Change has stated.

In fact, these companies’ representatives tell Newsmax that, as a matter of corporate policy, they never did advertise on the Glenn Beck Program and ask how they could boycott a program they never placed an ad on in the first place.

Another company, State Farm, tells Newsmax that its ad was never supposed to air on the Glenn Beck Program. State Farm has a longstanding company policy against advertising on any “political or opinion programming,” its spokesman says.

Having discovered the error, State Farm says, it will not be advertising on any cable talk show. And it is careful to emphasize it is not singling out Beck in this regard.

As State Farm’s response suggests, the net effect of the anti-Beck crusade probably will be fewer advertisers willing to advertise on the talk shows of any cable network.

Consider, for example, the corporate response from Clorox. On Thursday, company executives wrote Hill stating: “After a comprehensive review of political talk shows across the spectrum, at this time we have made a decision not to advertise on political talk shows.”

Assuming the pro-Beck backlash continues, that probably means the activist campaign intended to hurt Beck will, ironically, damage Beck’s progressive competitors more than it hurts him.

Lost ads will impact smaller networks such as MSNBC far more than it will affect ratings juggernaut Fox News, industry sources say.

Nearly 2.5 million viewers tuned in to Beck’s show in its 5 p.m. Eastern time slot last week, according to Mediabistro’s TV Newser. Beck’s ratings on Fox exceeded those of CNN, MSNBC, and Headline News combined.

All of which calls into question whether advertiser boycotts work anyway.

“It’s funny because I think their calculation is that by going after advertisers they are going to affect his bottom line,” Schweizer says. “But this is a common misperception of liberals. Beck isn’t in this for the money. So even if they could succeed, they won’t silence him.”

Michael Harrison has seen plenty of media campaigns come and go as publisher of Talkers Magazine. “My guess,” he says, “is he will weather this storm.”

“Beck expected to get hostile feedback, and a whole bunch of publicity, and he succeeded on both counts,” Harrison says. “People have the right to be offended and businesses have the right to spend their advertising dollars however they choose. Free speech guarantees the right of having an opinion without government censorship. It doesn’t guarantee that people won’t be angry and withhold their support. The free marketplace of ideas is not for the faint hearted!”

And for ratings giant Fox, Beck’s remarkable connection with viewers has made the free market a profitable one indeed. “The advertisers referenced have all moved their spots from Beck to other programs on the network,” a Fox spokesman recently told Ad Age, “so there is no revenue lost.”

  23. Unfinished business from Hillary…maybe there is a place called Hope…

thank you for this article. Hillary’s legacy as SOS is going to be on Gender Equality. her intvw brought tears to my eyes. for those of us who try to dissect her every word trying to find out if she’ll ever run again, take a looksee at the last question:

“Q: Last month in New Delhi, a young woman asked you an interesting question: How would you view the progress of women in both India and the United States? She pointed out that India elected a woman as prime minister within three decades of independence, while the U.S. had yet to elect a female president. Is there any lesson from your own presidential campaign that you can use to take to women elsewhere in the world?

Clinton: Well, you’ve heard me talk about this in a lot of settings, from Japan to South Korea to Indonesia to India to Latin America [laughs]. It is one of the most common questions I’m asked, along with the question about how I can now work for and with President Obama, since he and I ran so vigorously against each other. It is clearly on young women’s minds. And I find that both exciting and gratifying.

My campaign for many millions of reasons gave a lot of heart to many young women. It is still the most common comment that people make to me: “your campaign gave me courage” or “your campaign made a difference in my daughter’s life” or “I went back to school because of your campaign.” So, it is unfinished business, and young women know it is unfinished business.

The vast majority of them will never run for political office in any country. But they may decide to seek an education that their family doesn’t approve of, or move away for a job that is a little bit frightening to them, but which they feel they’ve got the skills to do. Or, you know, stand up and speak out against an injustice they see. And it is all of that ripple that is building and building — and is unstoppable.

I live for those moments where I see this woman stand up in SEWA — this poor, uneducated woman — and say, “I am the president of SEWA; 1.1 million women voted.” I mean, what a great statement that was from her. So, I get a lot of joy out of doing this work. I think it is so critically important, but it is also incredibly moving to see these individual lives changed because of some event or speech that you have no idea why it made an impression on them.”

  24. I had wondered about her hair, so she does wear wigs.
Her dress shows little decorum or respect for the position of First Lady.

What a wonderful statement from Secretary Clinton. She never ceases to amaze me. She is such an inspiration for many women.

I loathe the leadership of the dimocratic party for stealing the nomination from her, especially since we have a dimwit president and a dim congress. They all need to be replaced.

  26. I have a question. Is obama recycling old “buddies” that were tossed out because of their corrupt actions months ago?

First Richardson talks to the N. Koreans and is now going on a trade commission to Cuba. Daschle is back in action pushing obama’s health care plan. What’s going on?

  27. Admin, I am troubled by this: a document called “Your life, your choices” is circulated by the VA to returning veterans. This apparently was put together in 1997 (revived now by Obama). My husband looked it up and he said it was very negative (his words were that he hates to agree with Hannity but the document is very negative). Why would the Clinton administration do something like this?

I thought she had her own personal hairdresser? I guess what she really has is her own personal wigdresser?

She also has her own makeup artist. She needs all the help she can get, and even with all this assistance, she still manages to shock and scare people.

  29. Oprah wears the same hairstyle when not on her program, evidentally. On the show where she and Gail were doing their cross country road trip Oprah had her short hair in a short knot in the back like MO; very different from her wigs, too. Live and learn.

  30. I get joy and satisfaction hearing Hillary say that she “lives for those moments…” She lives a purpose driven life for sure, and what a wonderful legacy she has established for the female gender worldwide.

  31. fROM BITTERPOLITIZ..We couldn’t stand with these women, too busy bowing to the Iranian Devil….

Iran: Testimonies of torture and rape

The Iranian authorities have been accused by UN experts and the opposition of torturing jailed protesters of the June 12 presidential election results. Mehdi Karoubi, an opposition leader and former Speaker of Iran’s parliement, claimed that both male and female detainees have been raped in the Evin and Kahrizak prisons in Tehran, and that political prisoners are being tortured to death.

Rape and torture are not a new phenomenon in Iran’s prisons, but the recent events have focused more attention on the prisons of the Islamic Regime. Iranian civil society activists, including Reza Allamehzadeh, a leading film director, have been using citizen media to highlight testimonies about the Iranian tragedy.

A former political prisoner recounts the experience of being imprisoned, tortured and raped in an Iranian prison in the 1980s. She was only 17 years old at the time, and did not know why she had been arrested. More than 84,000 people have watched her testimony on YouTube.

I will be posting a riveting video next. It will make you cry, believe me. I will then post another. I don’t know what else to say, but it will break your heart.

Thousands of protesters, including some who were injured, were arrested during the July demonstrations and hundreds were sent either to prison or a torture house called Kahrizak.

Here is a testimony from one of the survivors that has been published on several blogs:

They took us with tens of others to Kahrizak camp. At least in that room that I were held there were another 200 people, all were injured beaten by batons. you could hear people crying everywhere….the plaincloth guards came into room…beat whom they could. they did for half an hour…after that they put a flash light in our faces and say if you make a noise with put these batons in your asses….to prevent us dying of hunger, everyday they give us a bag of leftover food.

In this interview, a survivor explains how prisoners at Kahrizak were forced to lick water from the floor.

Ayathollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, has ordered the closure of Kahrizak. MPs have said that 12 officers and judges were prosecuted over the Kahrizak incidents.

Beaten with a cable, no questions asked

Iran’s torture houses have been in existence for 30 years, however, and Kharizak is not the only one. Here is another testimony from an Iranian citizen arrested and tortured at Evin prison simply for having been near the site where a demonstration took place.

I had no sense of being part of a demonstration and was just walking normally in the street. Still, I was nabbed and put into a car and left there until about 9 pm. Everyone in the car was blindfolded the whole time, and then we were driven somewhere. Three days later, I figured out that we had been driven to Motahari Street. There we were randomly assigned to an interrogator. My interrogation went on until 1 am, but I was not asked any questions. I was beaten with a cable and with other things without being asked a single question.

  32. Hillary Clinton Pledges to ‘Banish Sexual Violence’

    August 21, 2009 12:30 PM EDT
By Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton may be taking some well-earned R&R in Bermuda this week, but last week, the former First Lady and U.S. Senator wrapped up a grueling seven-nation diplomatic mission to Africa.

While much was made back home about her snapping at a Congolese student who asked her about Bill Clinton’s thoughts on a trade issue (“My husband is not the secretary of state, I am,” she retorted), the emotional heart of her tour was also her most dangerous stop – in Goma, inside the war zone in eastern Congo, where she tearfully met rape victims on Aug. 11.

In this exclusive Op-Ed piece for PEOPLE.com, Secretary Clinton shares what she learned on her visit – and what she will do about it.

    What I Saw in Goma
    By Hillary Rodham Clinton

In 11 days of travel across Africa, I saw humanity at its worst – and at its best. In Goma last week, I saw both.

The Mugunga Internally Displaced Persons Camp sits in a land of volcanoes and great lakes on the edge of Goma, a provincial capital in the eastern Congo. The camp is now home to 18,000 people seeking refuge from a cycle of violent conflict that has left 5.4 million dead since 1998. Chased from their homes and villages by armed rebels and informal militias, these men, women and children walked for miles with little food or water until they reached this relatively safe haven.

Now they live in tents, one next to the other, row after row, some clinging to life, others hanging on to whatever glimmer of hope remains in a region plagued by years of brutality. Many of these people have been robbed of their homes, possessions, families and, worst of all, their dignity.

Women and girls in particular have been victimized on an unimaginable scale, as sexual and gender-based violence has become a tactic of war and has reached epidemic proportions. Some 1,100 rapes are reported each month, with an average of 36 women and girls raped every day. I visited a hospital run by the organization Heal Africa and met a woman who told me that she was eight months’ pregnant when she was attacked. She was at home when a group of men broke in. They took her husband and two of their children and shot them in the front yard, before returning into the house to shoot her other two children. Then they beat and gang-raped her and left her for dead. But she wasn’t dead. She fought for life and her neighbors managed to get her to the hospital – 85 kilometers away.

I came to Goma to send a clear message: The United States condemns these attacks and all those who commit them and abet them. They are crimes against humanity. These acts don’t just harm a single individual, or a single family, or village, or group. They shred the fabric that weaves us together as human beings. Such atrocities have no place in any society. This truly is humanity at its worst.

But there is reason to hope. We have seen survivors summon the courage to rebuild their lives and their communities. We have seen civic leaders and organizations come together to combat this appalling scourge. And we have seen health care workers sacrifice comfortable careers so they can treat the wounded.

In Goma, I met doctors and advocates who work every day to repair the broken bodies and spirits of women who have been raped, often by gangs, and often in such brutal fashion that they can no longer bear children, or walk or work. Caregivers like Lyn Lusi, who founded Heal Africa in Goma, and Dr. Denis Mukwege, who founded the Panzi hospital in Bukavu, represent humanity at its best.

The United States will stand with these brave people. This week I announced more than $17 million in new funding to prevent and respond to gender and sexual violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo. We will provide medical care, counseling, economic assistance and legal support. We will dedicate nearly $3 million to recruit and train police officers to protect women and girls and to investigate sexual violence. We will send technology experts to help women and front-line workers report abuse using photographs and video and share information on treatment and legal options. And we will deploy a team of civilian experts, medical personnel and military engineers to assess how we can further assist survivors of sexual violence.

While I was in the DRC, I had very frank discussions about sexual violence with President Kabila. I stressed that the perpetrators of these crimes, no matter who they are, must be prosecuted and punished. This is particularly important when they are in positions of authority, including members of the Congolese military, who have been allowed to commit these crimes with impunity. Our commitment to survivors of sexual and gender-based violence did not begin with my visit to Goma, and it will not end with my departure. We are redoubling our efforts to address the fundamental cause of this violence: the fighting that goes on and on in the eastern Congo. We will be taking additional steps at the United Nations and in concert with other nations to bring an end to this conflict.

There is an old Congolese proverb that says, “No matter how long the night, the day is sure to come.” The day must come when the women of the eastern Congo can walk freely again, to tend their fields, play with their children and collect firewood and water without fear. They live in a region of unrivaled natural beauty and rich resources. They are strong and resilient. They could, if given the opportunity, drive economic and social progress that would make their country both peaceful and prosperous.

Working together, we will banish sexual violence into the dark past, where it belongs, and help the Congolese people seize the opportunities of a new day.

A feel good story in a not so feel good time. I confess I hate rap. Yep, hate it, not dislike, hate it. Liked it at first a little, then gansta rap took over & now I HATE it.
I have no respect for Russell Simmons of Def Jam. He travels in the wine & cheese circle. He presents himself as a man giving back to the community but he built his money on songs that inspire, violence, drugs & violence against women.
So when I read this article about this young it was a truly “feel good” piece.
Rapper behind ‘Roxanne’s Revenge’ gets Warner Music to pay for Ph.D
    BY Walter Dawkins

    Updated Sunday, August 23rd 2009, 1:07 PM

Roxanne Shante was a young rap star. When the music stopped, she didn’t miss a beat.

    Roxanne’s revenge was sweet indeed.

Twenty-five years after the first queen of hip-hop was stiffed on her royalty checks, Dr. Roxanne Shante boasts an Ivy League Ph.D. – financed by a forgotten clause in her first record deal.

“This is a story that needs to be told,” Shante said. “I’m an example that you can be a teenage mom, come from the projects, and be raised by a single parent, and you can still come out of it a doctor.”

Her prognosis wasn’t as bright in the years after the ’80s icon scored a smash hit at age 14: “Roxanne’s Revenge,” a razor-tongued response to rap group UTFO’s mega-hit “Roxanne, Roxanne.”

The 1984 single sold 250,000 copies in New York City alone, making Shante (born Lolita Gooden) hip hop’s first female celebrity.

She blazed a trail followed by Lil’ Kim, Salt-N-Pepa and Queen Latifah – although Shante didn’t share their success.

After two albums, Shante said, she was disillusioned by the sleazy music industry and swindled by her record company. The teen mother, living in the Queensbridge Houses, recalled how her life was shattered.

“Everybody was cheating with the contracts, stealing and telling lies,” she said. “And to find out that I was just a commodity was heartbreaking.”

But Shante, then 19, remembered a clause in her Warner Music recording contract: The company would fund her education for life.

She eventually cashed in, earning a Ph.D. in psychology from Cornell to the tune of $217,000 – all covered by the label. But getting Warner Music to cough up the dough was a battle.

“They kept stumbling over their words, and they didn’t have an exact reason why they were telling me no,” Shante said.

She figured Warner considered the clause a throwaway, never believing a teen mom in public housing would attend college. The company declined to comment for this story.

Shante found an arm-twisting ally in Marguerita Grecco, the dean at Marymount Manhattan College. Shante showed her the contract, and the dean let her attend classes for free while pursuing the money.

“I told Dean Grecco that either I’m going to go here or go to the streets, so I need your help,” Shante recalls. “She said, ‘We’re going to make them pay for this.’”

Grecco submitted and resubmitted the bills to the label, which finally agreed to honor the contract when Shante threatened to go public with the story.

Shante earned her doctorate in 2001, and launched an unconventional therapy practice focusing on urban African-Americans – a group traditionally reluctant to seek mental health help.

“People put such a taboo on therapy, they feel it means they’re going crazy,” she explained. “No, it doesn’t. It just means you need someone else to talk to.”

Shante often incorporates hip-hop music into her sessions, encouraging her clients to unleash their inner MC and shout out exactly what’s on their mind.

“They can’t really let loose and enjoy life,” she said. “So I just let them unlock those doors.”

Shante, 38, is also active in the community. She offers $5,000 college scholarships each semester to female rappers through the nonprofit Hip Hop Association.

She also dispenses advice to young women in the music business via a MySpace page.

“I call it a warning service, so their dreams don’t turn into nightmares,” she said.

Hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons said Shante is a shining role model for the rap community. “Dr. Shante’s life is inspiring,” Simmons said. “She was a go-getter who rose from the struggle and went from hustling to teaching. She is a prime example that you can do anything, and everything is possible.”
Simmons is a hypocrite who should be run out of the industry & shamed out of the community.
If you want to see a picture of her, she is on yahoo’s page or you can go to the New York Dailey News’ site.

Obama to Reappoint Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke

President Barack Obama will announce Tuesday that he is nominating Ben Bernanke for a second four-year term as chairman of the Federal Reserve, White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel said.

Obama will announce that he is nominating Bernanke for a second term as Fed chairman.
Mr. Emanuel said Mr. Obama will make the announcement from Martha’s Vineyard Tuesday. He said the president credits Mr. Bernanke for “pulling the economy back from the brink of depression.”

Mr. Bernanke’s term as Fed chairman expires in January. His renomination requires Senate confirmation.

Mr. Obama met with Mr. Bernanke last week in the Oval Office to offer him another stint as Fed chairman, a White House official said.

  37. JanH, Thanks for posting that info of Hillary’s trip to Africa. She must of seen horrible things and she has such a big heart, it must of been hard for her to see it. I know somewhere she was quoted as telling someone “if this enough money”? I imagine this will be her top priority for the next few years.

WTF, where is Oprah and all her millions, doesnst she care about these women being brutalized in her beloved Africa??? I am sure she could bank roll a few police officers all on her own. THere are many black millionaire’s, why are they not helping with this. I realize it will take a lot more money than any one person could put in for, but these people have influence, where the hell have they been, this has been going on for years???

  38. Africans killing Africans everyday, Muslims killing Muslims, but the only thing that makes headlines is tiny Israel trying to survive surrounded by 1 billion enemies…

  39. jbstonesfan, yep, that right. They had some info over at atlas shrugs on Obama’s giving the Temple Mount to the Palestinians. I hope this is wrong because Netanyahu will never agree to it and I would not want him to. I think that part of Israel should be like a state in itself that allows all religions the right to attend the religious services at each of the sites. In that tiny little area, there is the Waling Wall, the birthsite of Jesus and of coarse the Dome of the Rock. So it should not be included in any state, should remain neutral for all mankind to enjoy. It would need its own police force and a neutral body to oversee all the holy sites.

I can’t believe anyone really believes this crap about living wills. Where I go to the hospital I have to sign a living will or at least they ask me if I have one. Its the insurance companies that are pushing this because they don’t want to pay for ventilator care. It is the most expensive care in the damn hospital. Folks you have to be reasonable about this. Its not the Clinton administration that had this written into Hillarycare, its the insurance companies. I am sick of these lies about healthcare. I guarantee I seen more monied people put their loved one in the nursing home that the poor ones. Heck the poor keep theirs at home to keep their social security check. Its all about the insurance companies, healthcare workers and hospitals keeping their piece of the pie at the demise of the poor and disenfranchized. I don’t believe in Obamacare, I want Hillarycare, they are completely differenct and always have been. The healthcare issue is why I orginally did not like Obama over Hillary, then of coarse I watched his thug attitude and now I hate him.

  50. Obama probably took his prayer rug and is praying 5 times a day while facing mecca on his Ramadan vacation. I wonder what direction that would be from Martha’s Vineyard. I bet that was the reason he was in a hurry to get to his vacation spot before sundown. I bet this was the same reason he had another inauguration. The second one was where to swore to Allah. I wonder how the WH is managing to keep this quiet so long. It must be well known in Washington.

  53. Obama White House v. CIA; Panetta Threatened to Quit

Tensions Lead to CIA Director’s “Screaming Match” at the White House

    August 24, 2009—

A “profanity-laced screaming match” at the White House involving CIA Director Leon Panetta, and the expected release today of another damning internal investigation, has administration officials worrying about the direction of its newly-appoint intelligence team, current and former senior intelligence officials tell ABC News.com.

Amid reports that Panetta had threatened to quit just seven months after taking over at the spy agency, other insiders tell ABCNews.com that senior White House staff members are already discussing a possible shake-up of top national security officials. “You can expect a larger than normal turnover in the next year,” a senior adviser to Obama on intelligence matters told ABCNews.com. Since 9/11, the CIA has had five directors or acting directors.

A White House spokesperson, Denis McDonough, said reports that Panetta had threatened to quit and that the White House was seeking a replacement were “inaccurate.” According to intelligence officials, Panetta erupted in a tirade last month during a meeting with a senior White House staff member. Panetta was reportedly upset over plans by Attorney General Eric Holder to open a criminal investigation of allegations that CIA officers broke the law in carrying out certain interrogation techniques that President Obama has termed “torture.”

A CIA spokesman quoted Panetta as saying “it is absolutely untrue” that he has any plans to leave the CIA. As to the reported White House tirade, the spokesman said Panetta is known to use “salty language.” CIA spokesman George Little said the report was “wrong, inaccurate, bogus and false.”

    Investigation by CIA Inspector General
Another source of contention for Panetta was today’s public release of an investigation by the CIA inspector general on the first two years of the agency’s interrogation and detention program. The report has been delayed by an internal administration debate over how much of the report should be kept secret. One CIA official said colleagues involved in the interrogation program were preparing for a far-reaching criminal investigation.

In addition to concerns about the CIA’s reputation and its legal exposure, other White House insiders say Panetta has been frustrated by what he perceives to be less of a role than he was promised in the administration’s intelligence structure. Panetta has reportedly chafed at reporting through the director of National Intelligence, Dennis Blair, according to the senior adviser who said Blair is equally unhappy with Panetta.

“Leon will be leaving,” predicted a former top U.S. intelligence official, citing the conflict with Blair. The former official said Panetta is also “uncomfortable” with some of the operations being carried out by the CIA that he did not know about until he took the job.

    Other Candidates for the Job

The New York Times reported Thursday that the CIA had planned to use the private security contractor Blackwater to carry out assassinations of al Qaeda leaders. Six other current and former senior intelligence officials said they too had been briefed about Panetta’s frustrations in the job, including dealing with his former Democratic colleagues in the House of Representatives.

One of the officials said the White House had begun informal discussions with candidates who were runners-up to Panetta in the CIA director selection process last year. One of the candidates reportedly has begun a series of preparatory briefings.

“It would be a shame if such as talented a Washington hand as Panetta were to leave after one year,” said Richard Clarke, an ABC News consultant who worked on the national security team for the Clinton and Bush administrations and served as an adviser to President-elect Obama. “It takes that long for any senior bureaucrat to begin to understand what needs to get done and how to do it, “said Clarke. “The CIA needs some stability.”

  54. White House Scandal: Unanswered Questions

    Guy Benson
    Tuesday, August 25, 2009

It started with a series of straightforward questions from Fox News correspondent Major Garrett to White House spokesman Robert Gibbs. Garrett’s bottom-line inquiry: How did thousands of Americans, who had never contacted the White House previously, receive unsolicited political emails authored by top administration strategist David Axelrod? In response, Gibbs and his press office colleagues undertook a strategy of dismissing the core issue, impugning the questioner, shifting blame, and vaguely pledging to change White House email policy. Still, the basic question of exactly how the White House came to possess countless private email addresses remains unanswered. The public deserves a thorough and precise explanation.

The latest development in this mini-tempest—playing out nearly exclusively on Fox and in the conservative blogosphere—is that the White House now admits it hired a Minnesota-based public communications firm (GovDelivery) to distribute an infamous Obamacare propaganda email, authored by Axelrod. Fox reports:

The White House hired a private communications company based in Minnesota to distribute mass e-mails, helping to shed light on how some recipients received e-mails in support of President Obama’s health care plan without signing up for them, FOX News has learned.

The company, Govdelivery, describes itself as the world’s leading provider of government-to-citizen communication solutions and says its e-mail service provides a fully-automated on-demand public communication system. It is still unknown how much taxpayer money the White House provides to Govdelivery for its services.

Again, it’s still a mystery just how the White House obtained the email addresses targeted by Axelrod’s talking points e-blast in the first place, especially since many recipients insist they’ve never contacted the White House or the Obama campaign in any capacity. After arrogant dismissals of Major Garrett’s questions wore thin, the administration began blaming “outside groups” for compiling the email lists in question. In other words, they claim, people may have signed online petitions for independent advocacy groups, who then forwarded those petitions—email addresses included—to the White House. At which point, supposedly, the White House’s super-sophisticated mega-email system ingested all of the incoming addresses by default, adding them to a master email listserv. I’m not an expert on mass emails, but that explanation strikes me as a tad fishy.

This account has also proven problematic because many of the original citizens who complained about receiving unsolicited political emails have subsequently stated that they did not sign any online petitions for any groups whatsoever.

So what happened here? HotAir.com’s Allahpundit posted a portion of an email I sent earlier in the week, describing a series of phone calls I received on my radio program last Sunday:
I mentioned this controversy on my show last week & got lots of calls from people who never signed up for WH emails (and never contacted the WH/Obama campaign for any reason), and who still got spammed by Axelrod/Govdelivery. What they all had in common, though, was that they had each emailed their Democrat representatives…within a week of getting the Axelrod email…

Could there have been an unspoken/unofficial effort by the Democrat party asking its elected members to forward all constituent correspondence on health care to a centralized DC location….like, say, the “flag” snitch address? Perhaps that’s how these email lists were compiled. Two callers in particular supported this theory. One gentleman told me he’d emailed Rep. Melissa Bean (D-Ill.) to register opposition to the House health care bill. He received an email response from Bean’s office the next day (entirely appropriate), followed by the Axelrod email a few days later. Another caller said she’d contacted Sen. Debbie Stabenow’s (D-Mich.) office for a similar reason. She, too, heard first from Stabenow’s staff, then from Axelrod. Again, neither caller had ever been in touch with the White House.

The suggestion I raised above merits further scrutiny. Could the aforementioned “outside groups” include the political offices of elected Democrats? It stands to reason: If the White House set up a (now defunct) email account asking average Americans to inform on one another regarding health care “misinformation,” wouldn’t constituent correspondence sent directly to elected representatives serve as a natural gold mine for culling opponents’ arguments against the president’s plan? One wonders if certain Democratic members chose to pass along this information on their own initiative, or if they were responding to encouragement (read: following orders) from the White House to do so.

As others have pointed out, this story would be a behemoth of a scandal if, say, Republican members had forwarded anti-Iraq War emails to the Bush administration, which then blasted out unsolicited pro-war talking points from Karl Rove to thousands of unaware or unwilling recipients.

For what it’s worth, the company hired—at taxpayer expense, presumably—to execute the questionable government-to-citizen mass says it merely disseminates end-product items from public sector sources. It does not create the content, nor does it provide email lists to its clients. GovDelivery co-founder Scott Burns, writing for the scintillatingly-named publication Federal Computer Week in May 2009, described his company this way: GovDelivery itself is a Web-hosted system just like Facebook or Twitter or any of those services. We’re a part of the Web 2.0 arena by default because our service is hosted, so everybody – whether it’s the Federal Emergency Management Agency [FEMA], the city of Berkley, Calif., or the British Parliament – everybody is using the same basic platform.

The federal government now sends about 140 million email, text messages and wireless messages per month through GovDelivery. Citizens select the information they want from the agency’s Web site and our platform sends out that messaged information. [Me: Perhaps the Obama administration was hoping the phase out the whole ‘citizen selection’ element] We’re functioning in the background, helping the agency by providing the software platform to manage its communications process…

There is enthusiasm about digital communication in general but the election of President [Barack] Obama is adding to the momentum for better communication with the public. We’ve had a major upgrade in our system and in the additional Web 2.0 capabilities we offer because of the enthusiasm of the new administration.
The White House is pointing to the fact that GovDelivery also does work for Republicans, like Governor Rick Perry of Texas, as a defense of its actions. This is an irrelevant argument. The crucial question is just how much “enthusiasm” the new administration truly has about engaging in new forms of digital communication with the public. Members of said public have a right to know how the White House got its hands on scores of private email addresses, and whether Democrats were surreptitiously using constituent correspondence and the flag@whitehouse.gov email account to assemble new mass lists—without the knowledge or permission of those on the lists—in order to distribute partisan talking points.

jbstonesfan, yep, that right.

I disagree. Historically, only Israel has allowed and protected the right of all religious groups to keep their presence in the Old city of Jerusalem. Do you know how many times the Jewish quarter has been destroyed?

Anyway, as stated above, it is not O’s to give and Israel with hold it atall costs….and deservedly so.

Ummm, yeah. “Tried….to reform… health care”. yeah.

All Obama has done so far is give some speeches and do a few fakey dog-and-pony “clown hall” meetigs. But he abdicated his duty when it came to all that “policy stuff”. Didn’t roll up his shirt sleeves about the nitty gritty in the bill, nor get involved in the “inside game” that needs to be worked out in Congress.

So, Mr. Paterson, what kind of credit should BHO exactly receive for his D+ “efforts”?

Hillary’s Right About the ‘Defense Umbrella’
So why is the Obama administration intent on killing missile defense?

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said recently in Thailand that if Iran acquires a nuclear weapon, the U.S. will offer allies in the Middle East a “defense umbrella” to prevent Iranian intimidation. That’s a fine sentiment, but it raises the question: Are we capable of doing so?

The answer is more complicated than most people think.

The proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and associated delivery systems since the collapse of the Soviet Union means that any “defense umbrella” will require the deployment of missile defense technologies capable of neutralizing a potential salvo of nuclear-tipped missiles—whether from Iran or another rogue such as North Korea.

Yet America’s missile-defense efforts are being scaled back. Congress is contemplating a $1.4 billion reduction to the Pentagon’s budget for antimissile capabilities.

Advocates of missile defense are seriously concerned that this is just the beginning, and that the Obama administration seeks to kill the system with a thousand cuts. During the presidential campaign last year, Barack Obama promised to strip $10 billion from the Pentagon’s budget for missile defense. (Actually, the U.S. currently spends only $9 billion in this area.)

The Bush administration began work on a linked network of individual missile-defense systems capable of intercepting ballistic missiles in all stages of flight. But it built only the capabilities necessary to counter simple rogue-state threats, such as a single missile launched from North Korea and aimed at the West Coast. The administration’s efforts stopped short of a comprehensive architecture that would include antimissile systems on land, on the seas, and in space.

The Obama administration wants to scale back from Bush’s modest beginnings. In addition to slashing the overall budget for missile defense, it has terminated promising projects such as the multiple-kill vehicle (MKV) program—in which multiple interceptors on a carrier vehicle (essentially a satellite) would improve our chances of hitting enemy missiles. Another project terminated is the airborne laser (ABL), an aircraft-based high energy laser that could be flown near potential enemy ballistic-missile hotspots.

Mr. Obama has also targeted the Bush administration’s premier missile-defense venture, the deployment of ground-based interceptors and radars in Poland and the Czech Republic to defend against the growing ballistic missile threat from Iran. Instead, because of the Kremlin’s objections, the Obama team is preparing to sacrifice this planned deployment as part of a “reset” of U.S. relations with Russia.

Space-based missile defense likewise has been met with a cold shoulder from the Obama administration. Opponents of missile defense charge that a space layer would somehow “militarize” space. This is dead wrong. A space-based missile defense capability would instead block and destroy weapons that enter the Earth’s orbit on their way to their targets.

The most promising idea would be to develop a program for the deployment of space-based kinetic interceptors capable of targeting intercontinental ballistic missiles in their boost, midcourse and terminal phases of flight. In other words, let’s revive the useful idea of building a system that gives us multiple chances to knock out every enemy missile.

Sadly, in the current political atmosphere, missile defense has become an ideological football. Republicans and Democrats alike ought to be united in the effort to develop a serious system capable of protecting the American people, our armed forces and our allies abroad from ballistic missile attack. A half-hearted missile defense effort only encourages investments in missile technologies on the part of our adversaries, making them believe that with additional resources they will be capable of overwhelming American defenses.

U.S. missile-defense policy should be designed to elicit the opposite response. Our enemies and competitors should be forced to conclude that energy and funds spent developing nuclear weapons and the missiles to deliver them will be wasted because Americans have the know-how and hardware to prevent them from reaching their intended targets.

During the Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush administrations, the U.S. government made major investments in the types of technologies (space-based sensors, interceptors and propulsion) necessary to field a robust defense against foreign ballistic missile arsenals, irrespective of origin. The capability to make Iranian, North Korean and other foreign missiles useless has already been developed and field-tested. Only America has it, and we should deploy it.

Mrs. Clinton has the right idea. The U.S. should offer a comprehensive and impenetrable “defense umbrella” to protect itself and its allies. But first we need to match rhetoric with concrete action and get the job done.

Mr. Berman is vice president for policy of the American Foreign Policy Council. Mr. May is the president of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.

also…has any one noticed that since the current economic info has been released with the increasing trillions in deficit and Obama’s need to adjust his numbers, etc…that now the O admin is stressing now we will have continued increasing unemployment

By Roger Runningen and Brian Faler

Aug. 25 (Bloomberg) — U.S. unemployment will surge to 10 percent this year and the budget deficit will be $1.5 trillion next year, both higher than previous Obama administration forecasts because of a recession that was deeper and longer than expected, White House budget chief Peter Orszag said.

The Office of Management and Budget forecasts that the U.S. economy will shrink 2.8 percent this year, worse than the 1.2 percent contraction the OMB projected in May. For next year, the budget office said the gross domestic product will grow 2.0 percent, less than the 3.2 percent expected in May. By 2011, the economy would be well on its way to recovery, growing at a 3.8 percent annual rate, according to the administration’s mid-year economic review, released this morning.

“While the danger of the economy immediately falling into a deep recession has receded, the American economy is still in the midst of a serious economic downturn,” the budget office’s report said. “The long-term deficit outlook remains daunting.”

Separately, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office today predicted that the jobless rate would average 10.2 percent next year, gloomier than the White House projection, and forecast the deficit for this year at $1.6 trillion, slightly worse than the White House estimate.

so now they just want to prepare us for continued rising unemployment….without any solutions…WTF is the O admin plan??? oh, more job loss and more home loss

as for Holder and Special Prosecutor…many consider this a big blunder on the part of the O admin…I think it is just another ‘distraction’…keep the people/public focused on all the Bush transgressions while Rahm forces thru legislation via one party rule…

Rachel Alexandra to Face Males Again in Woodward

    Published: August 24, 2009
The filly Rachel Alexandra will face older male horses in the Woodward Stakes on Sept. 5 at Saratoga in an effort to conquer another frontier in what has already been a bold and imaginative campaign, one of her owners said Monday.

“Rachel Alexandra’s workouts have been excellent,” said Jess Jackson, a co-owner of the filly and the founder of the Kendall-Jackson Winery. “I, like other fans of horse racing, want to see her tested. If she goes up against older male horses, we’ll be better able to get a measure of her greatness.”

The New York Racing Association appreciated Rachel Alexandra’s entry enough that it increased the purse for the 140th running of the mile-and-an-eighth Woodward to $750,000 from $250,000.

“Raising the Woodward purse will help attract a top field to what will be a historic race,” said P. J. Campo, the association’s director of racing. “In addition, we felt that to have a filly like Rachel Alexandra seeking to become the first-ever female to win the Woodward warranted an increase in purse.”

Jackson purchased Rachel Alexandra in the days after her record 20 1/4-length victory in the Kentucky Oaks on May 1 at Churchill Downs in Louisville. She has been sensational ever since, becoming the first filly in 85 years to win the Preakness Stakes two weeks later at Pimlico in Baltimore and setting stakes records for winning margin and time in her 19 1/4-length win in the Mother Goose on June 28 at Belmont Park.

Her victory in the Grade I Haskell Invitational on Aug. 2 at Monmouth Park in New Jersey was her eighth straight, seventh against graded-stakes competition and her second against the nation’s best 3-year-old colts.

Rachel Alexandra, who is trained by Steve Asmussen, has won 10 of her 13 races and has earned more than $2.2 million.

    The President Seems Lost

    By Richard Cohen
    August 25, 2009

Let’s go back to that “teachable moment.” It was proclaimed by Barack Obama after he said that police in Cambridge, Mass., had acted “stupidly” in arresting Henry Louis Gates for essentially being black in his own house. It has been a month now, and the one sure thing we have learned in this extended teachable moment is about Obama himself. He can’t teach.

This is clear when it comes to two of the major challenges confronting his administration: health care reform and the war in Afghanistan. Both are losing popular support. Increasingly, Americans are becoming convinced that Afghanistan will cost lots of lives and health care reform will cost lots of money — and both will have paltry payoffs or none at all. Teacher, please explain.

Obama cannot — or, to be both fair and precise, he has not yet been able to. This is because of an insufficiency I have noted previously — his distinct coolness, an above-the-fray mien that does not communicate empathy. If you recall, for instance, that teachable moment about Gates, you will remember it was about racial profiling and such. Commentators galore jumped right in and in some cases — Glenn Beck comes to mind — proved they were whores for controversy, but Obama himself stayed above the fray. Class was in session but he was not.

Pity. For this teachable moment, Obama might have recalled an incident out of his own past when, perchance, he was racially profiled — stopped, frisked or something for being a black man, particularly a young black man. He might have recounted an anecdote that offered us all a glimmer of what it is like to wear your skin color — but not your two Ivy League degrees, book contract, etc. — on your face so that you feel the opprobrium and suspicion of police officers and the averted glance of trembling white ladies. No. He did nothing of the sort.

So Obama did not teach about the Gates incident and he is not teaching about health insurance. Some of his trouble is procedural — turning over health care reform to Congress, a parliamentary Okefenokee Swamp in which reform bogs down, finally rots and emits noxious gases. Some of this has to do with the unavoidable complexity of any legislation. But some of it has to do with the inability of the president to simply say what he wants and why that’s good for us. The failure here is twofold: the message and the messenger.

The message will be improved. The administration, after all, is still new and still learning. The messenger, though, is a problem of a different order that was obscured during the presidential campaign by the historic uniqueness of the candidate and the sheer good fortune to follow George W. Bush and run against the hapless John McCain. It is just a slight exaggeration to say that any Democrat could have won, but it exaggerates nothing to say that Obama’s message of “change” was most eloquently expressed in the corporeal essence of the candidate himself. There had been nothing like him in all our history.

In the end, the success of the health care reform effort comes down to trust. A lesson of the raucous town-hall meetings is the sense of panic, the fear that this man in the White House does not appreciate the anxiety that middle-class Americans fear about health care — whether they will keep what they have, whether they will have enough or whether their last years will be spent in painful, degrading poverty. Those, ironically, are precisely the reasons for reform in the first place and why Obama has staked so much on it. He is a reformer — he’s just not a salesman.

More and more Obama is being likened to Lyndon Johnson, with Afghanistan becoming his Vietnam. Maybe. But the better analogy is to Jimmy Carter, particularly the president analyzed by James Fallows in a 1979 Atlantic magazine article, “The Passionless Presidency.” “The central idea of the Carter administration is Jimmy Carter himself,” Fallows wrote. And what is the central idea of the Obama presidency? It is change. And what is that? It is Obama himself.

Unlike Carter, Obama brims with energy and charm. His brilliance is not brittle but supple. Yet, another teachable moment is upon him and he seems lost. The country needs health care reform and a success in Afghanistan, and both efforts are going in the wrong direction. The message needs to be fixed and so, with some tough introspection, does the man.

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan – A cluster of vehicle bombs detonated simultaneously Tuesday in the Taliban’s spiritual homeland near a foreign-owned construction company that had recently taken over a contract to build a road through an insurgent-held area. At least 41 people were killed, all civilians, officials said.

The thundering explosion occurred just after nightfall in a district that includes U.N. facilities and an Afghan intelligence office. The force of the blast shattered windows around the city and sent flames shooting into the sky.

So many houses and nearby buildings had collapsed that officials feared the death toll could rise further. At least 66 people were wounded, said Gen. Ghulam Ali Wahabat, a police commander in charge of southern Afghanistan.

“There was big smoke in the sky, and there were many dead bodies,” said Mohammad Ismail, a vegetable seller being treated at the hospital for leg and hand injuries from the blast. “Some of the wounded were crying out.”

It appeared the main target was the Japanese company that is involved in reconstruction efforts in the southern Afghan city. The company recently took over a contract to build a road that insurgents had stalled for several months.

An intelligence office is about a quarter mile (400 meters) from the attack site and a U.N. office is located about a half mile (800 meters) away.

“The staff is good, everybody is safe,” said Samad Khaydarov, head of the U.N. Assistance Mission in Afghanistan. “Our office, our guesthouses, are safe. … Unfortunately, security is not so good in Kandahar.”

No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.

The blast in the center of the city was one of the largest since the Taliban were expelled from the country in 2001. It destroyed about 40 shops, including restaurants and bakeries.

“Once again they’ve killed children, women, innocent Afghans. They are not human. They are animals. You can see for yourself the destruction of this enemy,” said deputy provincial police chief Mohammad Sher Shah.

The exact mechanism of the bombing was still being determined.

Provincial council member Haji Agha Lalai said five vehicles filled with explosives detonated together, causing the massive blast. But Shah said the vehicles used were an oil tanker filled with explosives and two car bombs.

Kandahar is the spiritual home of the Taliban, and the militants have carried out several complex attacks here in the last several years. A large NATO base sits on Kandahar’s outskirts, but militants control districts immediately to the city’s west.

In other violence, a bomb blast killed four U.S. troops in southern Afghanistan on Tuesday, said military spokeswoman Lt. Cmdr. Christine Sidenstricker. No other information was released pending the notification of family members.

The deaths bring to 41 the number of U.S. troops killed in Afghanistan this month, the second deadliest month in the country since the 2001 U.S. invasion. Last month a record 44 U.S. troops died.

This year has been the deadliest of the war for U.S. troops. Including the latest deaths, at least 172 American forces have died in the Afghan war this year, according to an Associated Press count.

A British soldier also died Tuesday after being wounded in an explosion Aug. 15 while on patrol near Sangin in Helmand Province, Britain’s Ministry of Defense said.

The number of overall NATO deaths this year is a record as well: at least 293. Last year 286 died, according to the AP count.

The U.S. has more than 60,000 troops in the country.

  66. Fox news..Afghanistan situation deteriorating…40-50 thousand troops needed

AFGHANISTAN may turn into another Vietnam.

Oh i’m sorry but didnt Bambi promise the troops home within 18 months, hmm there goes another huge haemorrhage on the dem side. Watch code pink go apeshit, can’t wait to see them dish shit out on Bambi like they did on Hillary for her supposed “war” vote.

Besides whatever made them think they can win in afghanistan if the russians couldnt do it and left. Afghanistan really, I am sorry but just left like most of those other countries, our soldiers are dying for a pipedream over there.

  67. Again its going to be another example of what Bambi lied about to get elected just blow up in his face.

  68. I may be in the minority, but I honestly think that Afghanistan/Iraq can be blamed jointly on Bush and Obama. Bush should have gone into Afghanistan in the first place. And how many wonderfully brave military men and women have died or been injured because of his war on Iraq? Obama has taken the mantle and each and every injury/death from now on is on his head. He should never have made promises he knew he couldn’t keep.

Except that all of his promises have been like that, right? And only said to get the votes. So Hillary’s comments during the primary about him being an empty suit/celestial choirs was spot on.

Both of these men should be tried for crimes against humanity.

  69. Janh, Obama can no longer blame Bush entirely, when you run for President, you run with a plan and Obama has been running since Nov 2007 or earlier, he should have formulated plans but now it seems , he ran got elected and then thought “oh fuck, what do i do now”. I mean he also had a substantial dem congress since 06 that should have been putting plans through but you know what, they have not got the slightest clue either.

By god if you promise the people a plan that says troops will be out in 18 months, then he better damn stick to it but i suspect it will be more we’ll still be in there in 2012 and i’d love to hear his excuse for it then.

  70. Yup Jan, no more passing the buck, his admin effectively took over on Nov 5th really not Jan and had been briefed since he got the Dem nomination, so NO excuses.

You run for the WH you take on all the shit and it becomes your shit.

  71. I am beginning to think that the lack of any emphasis or talk at all about JOB CREATION, compounded by the increasing loss of homes and foreclosures…and the fact that the so-called Obama plan for foreclosures has failed…I am beginning to think it is by design…

…that there is truth in some of this idea of keeping the people so dependent on the govt for everything is what this admin wants…just look at how they are utilizing the so called ‘stimulus’ plan money…cash for clunkers…no long term job creation…grants to colleges for studies…money being used by states to pay their bills…(Rhode Island has closed down the state for 12 days…California – just above water…this is the trend)

…NOTHING IS TARGETED TOWARDS JOB CREATION AND what is out there in stimulus money is being absorbed every witch way but in creating jobs…and with the increase of more jobs forecast to be lost…as if we are all in collective denial…the country cannot sustain more jobs and home losses…we will be a third country by the end of O’s admin…

meanwhile for all those homes that are foreclosed, a large amount of them are confiscated by who else??? the banks, many the same ones that got taxpayer money (Bof A, Citibank, etc)…OR the homes that americans are losing are being bought up by foreign investors…(I hate to sound like a conspiratist but it was the liberals on the supreme court, if you recall, who were the ones that backed eminent domain and confiscating private property, the liberals went against the homeowners in conn and elsewhere…in fact, if you do a search, shockingly, the left agrees with the concept of eminent domain)…hmm…

CNN did a report today on the failed Obama foreclosure plan, only 6% of homeowners have been helped by the O plan…CNN is requesting homeowners to send in there “nightmare stories” – for example, constant complaints of paperwork getting lost, being treated badly, banks directing them to loans with hidden fees, etc)…but funny, hardly any loan modification…

why is there no outrage? all kinds of distractions but no concentration on the most important issues to the struggling american people…we are pawns in this new game of govt takeovers…

the american people are the walking wounded…the people really need to start mobilizing and demanding that the O admin start focusing on their immediate needs…

just what kind of a democratic party is left? have they no shame at all???
