Big Media And The Obama Birth Certificate Issue And “Whitey”

Update: Updated with video (at end) of several Cambridge police officers (African-American police officers too) speaking out in support of Sergeant Crowley.

Here at Big Pink we have never ever never posted an article discussing the Obama Birth Certificate Issue.

On occasion some comments are posted in our comments section discussing the Obama Birth Certificate Issue. But there are so many Obama flim-flams, lies, boobery and scams that we have to pick and choose among them and cannot cover every Obama controversy (for instance we have never never ever discussed Larry Sinclair nor the famous “whitey” tape controversy).

Some Hillary supporters websites will not allow any discussion whatsoever of the Birth Certificate Issue for various reasons, none of which we will explore here.

But today, the Birth Certificate Issue has hit a high water mark and we will comment on one aspect of the controversy.

What has struck us today is how Big Media is covering the Obama Birth Certificate issue.

According to Big Media and the narrative Big Media is now fully engaged in pushing – the Birth Certificate Issue is now a very big problem – for REPUBLICANS!!!!!!

That’s right, according to Big Media an Obama problem which grows daily and has now busted full out on broadcast news, cable news, and at White House press briefings is now magically a Republican problem. UNbelievable. The Big Media protection of Obama continues.

* * * * *

Ben Smith at Politico is not a stupid man but he acts stupid in order to protect Obama. Ben Smith is not alone in acting stupid with reporting that can only be described as dishonest. Ben Smith and other Big Media Obama protectors well know, they must know because they are not stupid, that the Birth Certificate Issue is about the thus far unseen Obama Birth Certificate.

Ben Smith and the Obama Big Media protectors are not stupid and they must know that there is a difference between a Certificate of Live Birth and a Birth Certificate. But the Obama Big Media protectors act dumb in order to deceive and protect Obama by pretending they do not understand the difference between a Certificate of Live Birth and a Birth Certificate.

Ben Smith and other Big Media Obama protectors then pretend that Obama is being transparent and open by not producing the document that is at the center of the controversy – the Birth Certificate.

Ben Smith today continues to act stupid using the insulting term “Birthers”. He does ackowledge that the Birth Certificate Issue is a growing presence on the political landscape:

The wave of publicity for the Birther movement hasn’t yet crested, with the dentist who’s the movement’s leading legal light, Orly Taitz, saying she’s taping the Colbert Report tomorrow, and popping up elsewhere in the mainstream media.

Not only has the Birth Certificate Issue not “yet crested”, Ben Smith wants us to believe that it is Republicans who will be hurt by Obama’s problem!!!

Sorry about all the Birther chatter on this site today, which may have something to do with the fact that I spent an hour this morning on NPR’s “On Point” talking about the subject this morning. (The segment is worth a listen, if only for Birther leader Orly Taitz, DDS, ESQ, calling me a “briownshirt.”)

The other two guests had more to say, though, and made interesting points about the dangers the movement poses.

The conservative talk radio host Michael Medved defended the conservative movement from blame for the conspiracy theories, noting the theorists’ overlap with 9/11 conspiracy theorists, and that its roots aren’t particularly in the organized Republican Party. But he also warned of the danger to the right from embracing this line of argument, and criticized Liz Cheney specifically. [snip]

That danger is being realized at the moment, as various Republican legislators express, when asked, some degree of sympathy with the discredited theory. Mike Stark easily got several House Republicans to express some doubts. (Video below.)

On NPR, the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Heidi Beirich suggested that the movement, and its encouragement on talk radio, also poses a more serious, physical danger.

Mike Stark, whose video Ben Smith posted, is a DailyKooks poster who now works for Arriana Huffington’s pro-Obama slimesite. Earlier in the day Ben Smith had noted in an unrelated piece that Huff n’ Puff is one of the leading shock troops for Obama’s Brownshirts:

Last month, Arianna Huffington took offense at my writing about the “symbiosis” between Huffington Post and the White House, suggesting (gasp!) that HuffPost is “left leaning” and part of “the new partisan media,” and writing that “what’s good for the Huffington Post is good for the White House, and vice versa.”

Arriana and her Obama website and Ben Smith and Politico are clearly trying to shift, unconvincingly, the Birth Certificate problem from Obama to Republicans. Today it was the lead propaganda effort at Politico with even more Politico writers acting dumb:

When lawmakers return home for recess in August, they can expect to hear tough questions from constituents on the economy, health care and government spending.

But Republicans are preparing for something else: the birthers.

As GOP Rep. Mike Castle learned the hard way back home in Delaware this month, there’s no easy way to deal with the small but vocal crowd of right-wing activists who refuse to believe that President Barack Obama was born in the United States.

At a town hall meeting in Georgetown, a woman demanded to know why Castle and his colleagues were “ignoring” questions about Obama’s birth certificate — questions that have been put to rest repeatedly by state officials in Hawaii, where the birth certificate and all other credible evidence show that Obama was born in Honolulu on Aug. 4, 1961.

In that dishonest report Politico once again acts dumb by pretending they do not understand the difference between a Birth Certificate and a Certificate of Live Birth. Thus far no Birth Certificate has been produced for Barack Obama and that is what is fueling suspicion and anger.

Instead of asking why no Birth Certificate has been produced by Obama (remember he made all those promises to be “transparent”) Big Media prefers to act dumb and deceive news consumers.

[Larry Johnson at NoQuarter has some interesting video on the differences between Birth Certificates, Amended Birth Certificates and a Certificate of Live Birth along with a batch of other theories for those wishing to explore those issues.]

Again, Big Media is acting dumb, pretending not to understand the arguments made by those demanding to see the actual Obama Birth Certificate. Lou Dobbs tried to explain the issue in the best way we have thus far seen, but Obama lover Roland Martin went nuts (as the youtube demonstrates):

For his rational efforts to explain the Birth Certificate Issue in an honest way to his viewers, Lou Dobbs was attacked. Forget the marketplace of ideas and the First Amendment. Big Media Obama lovers (redundant, we know) act dumb and get applause, Lou Dobbs treats the public as adults and gets slammed by The Southern Poverty Law Center via (surprise!) The Huffington Post:

The Lou Dobbs “Birthers” saga may be coming to a close. This morning, the President of the Southern Poverty Law Center, a major civil rights group, wrote a letter calling on CNN President Jon Klein to remove CNN host Lou Dobbs from the air. The request stems from a segment on Dobbs’ radio show this past Tuesday where Dobbs did his part to keep alive the conspiracy theory that President Obama is not an American citizen (AKA the “birther” theory). On air, he speculated: “I’m starting to think we have a document issue. You suppose he’s un… no, I won’t even use the word undocumented, it wouldn’t be right.”

CNN tried to shut Lou Dobbs up, but that did not go so well. Most of Big Media continues to act dumb and not ask the simple question: Where’s the Birth Certificate and why has it not been produced?

Should we be surprised that Big Media continues to protect Obama? No. Big Media will continue to deceive and protect.

Recall the latest Obama race-baiting to protect his friend from Harvard, Henry Louis Gates. Remember how Gates denied he was yelling and in fact could not yell because of a throat condition? Remember how Gates race-baited yet denied he was racially motivated but that the cops were bigots? Remember that Obama called the Cambridge cops “stupid”?

Today, some tapes on the Gates saga were released. Gates was yelling (therefore lying). There was no mention of race initiated by the caller in the 911 call. Gates was “not cooperative” when he should have been grateful.

Big Media protected Harvard prof Gates . Why didn’t Big Media note Gates calling out “whitey” in his past?

“As always, whitey now sits in judgment of me, preparing to cast my fate. It is your decision either to let me blow with the wind as a nonentity or to encourage the development of self. Allow me to prove myself.”

Gates race-baited and Obama race-baited.

Big Media protected them both.

Big Media continues to protect Obama even if it has to act stupid and dumb to do so.
