Hilarious! S

I know. MO looked like she was going shopping at the mall instead of meeting the PB... I just don't understand it. MO worked in the corporate sector, what did she wear to work, jeans and a hooded sweatshirt?

Obama gave Queen Elizabeth II an engraved iPod during his visit to Buckingham Palace.

The portable music device came with headphones and already loaded with songs. He and first lady Michelle Obama also gave the queen a rare book of songs signed by “The King and I” composer Richard Rodgers.

It’s not the first time Obama has given a British leader a tech-based gift. When Brown visited the United States, Obama gave his peer 25 of his favorites movies on DVD. (Never mind the DVDs didn’t work when Brown took them home because they were meant for use only in North American players.)

Obama is a known technology geek. He successfully fought to keep his mobile e-mail device and aides keep his iPod updated.

In return, the Queen gave the President a silver framed signed photograph of herself and the Duke of Edinburgh - apparently a standard present for visiting dignitaries.

Oh, well- Michelle must have put an order in for a car load of phographs of her and Bawack and she will be busy when she returns home... signing the mementos for future gifts. God, these people make the Clampitts look like royalty!

This really takes the cake!

Anybody hear that m.o. and hubby uprooted a 126-year-old cherry tree planted by President Chester A. Arthur in 1883 to commemorate the signing of the Pendleton Act, which established the Civil Service Commission so they could plant their weed garden???

Just goes to show how little respect the Obama's have for other people and "our' property! It just makes you wonder, were these people raised by wolves?

turn
yes but I like the news on my homepage-- so I guess I was just hoping that someone else knew of a homepage akin to yahoo which offered a bit of real news. I have looked and MSN, Yahoo. Lycos all rely on the AP. They decide what stories they will put front and center but its all AP. Maybe you or someone here has the wherewithall to put it together? I hope so.

One has to wonder with all of the bias which yahoo, google and msn have shown towards the telepromptor why noone from the other side of the spectrum hasn't offered an alternative. A website offering on its home page real news? I think many of the millions in the democratic party left out in the cold as well as middle of the road republicans would be hungry for such a site. So very many gifted and intelligent people here why has no one done this? The news section being more than a regurtation of AP shit. Me thinks AP may be the biggest culprt in the bambi coup.

henry,
I have used yahoo for more than ten years but would gladly switch my email and homepage to something that at least pretended to be unbiased.

=============

Forgive me, but you do know that you can set your home page to anything you want -- such as Big Pink, or gardening or cooking or even a blank page -- without changing your email?

Oh my god, I just got home from work and read the story of Obama giving the Queen an iPod as an official gift. His administration certainly doesn't learn from it's mistakes. You'd think the flap over the tacky DVD gift to the prime minister would have given them a clue. Wonder if Obama had the iPod engraved on the back...good grief....

JanH
thankyou so much for the recommendation but I was actually looking for something which presented a semblance of neutrality which fox does not. I find it incomprhensible that here is not a single news unit out there which is even attempting to provide a sense of balance. I have used yahoo for more than ten years but would gladly switch my email and homepage to something that at least pretended to be unbiased. Don't even know what search engine to use?
