Kirsten Gillibrand And The Emerging NObama Coalition, Part I

Gosh darn it, we at this pure, sweet, innocent, pink, website are heartbroken that so many wish us ill and say such mean things about us. In the past we have never commented on the mean and hurtful things said about us on websites or even on Big Big Media TV, but we are so overcome, we just might speak out about what is causing our tears now.

We’ve shed so many tears our ShamWow towels have lost absorbency.

The trouble started with our polite, ahead of the curve analysis, on December 14 as to why Caroline Kennedy should not be a U.S. Senator and how her campaign was “running out of air”.

Later we began a series (as of yet no Part II, but perhaps it is still timely to publish and there is still interest) about our privately heard information, again before the curve, that Senator Chuck Schumer is A, if not THE, secret hand against the Caroline power grab and why Hillary Supporters and Upstate New Yorkers would prevent Caroline Kennedy becoming the appointed U.S. Senator. The Schumer rumors have now been confirmed, after the beheading, by Big Media outlets.

For these mild efforts at explaining why Caroline should not be Senator and her Lack of Judgment in endorsing the unqualified, race-baiting, and gay-bashing, and sexist, Barack Obama, we were rebuked by the Hopium addled.

The Hopium Narco-traffickers blamed us for the defeat of Barack Obama/Ted Kennedy’s schemes to gift Caroline the Senate seat from New York. The Hopium addled Narco-traffickers saw a big defeat for Obama in Caroline Kennedy’s going over the bridge. They are right in that. It was a big defeat. One of many to come for Obama. We innocents were accused of causing the Caroline train wreck.

We are indeed happy Caroline has so much free time again. We also do admit we are beginning to really like Kirsten Gillibrand. We like how when Obama tried to worm himself in and hog the spotlight to inflict himself on New Yorkers with a phone call to Senator Gillibrand during her televised appointment announcement – Obama was told to call later – Kirsten Gillibrand was busy.

We like how as a Congresswoman Representative Gillibrand voted “NO” on the scandalous $350 Billion TARP bailout. We like Kirsten Gillibrand’s close friendship and alliance with Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton. We like that Kirsten Gillibrand is a strong woman from Upstate New York who is able to get elected in a Republican area.

But for some of the Hopium addled addicts, being a good public official is the kiss of death. The Hopium addled addicts don’t like good representation. To the Hopium addled addicts a qualified candidate is like wolfbane to a vampire. The noive of Kirsten Gillibrand to be a good Senator for the people of New York.

I also don’t doubt that she’ll be effective, compelling and popular, and may turn out to be a very good senator for New York. I just don’t know that she’ll be an especially good senator for Democrats.

But we are getting ahead of ourselves. Let’s start at the beginning. Oh, and here is a real train wreck for the Narco-traffickers to play with:

* * *

The rabid response of Obama’s Hopium addled addicts to the appointment of Kirsten Gillibrand shows how big a defeat this is for Obama and his dreams of conquest. Many of the Hopium addled wanted Caroline Kennedy because she would not represent New Yorkers, but rather be Obama’s lapdog. To some, including apparently top Obama strategists, Caroline Kennedy was to be promoted from lapdog to president once Obama left office.

As unbelievable and demented as it sounds some Obama strategists actually thought that they would neutralize Hillary Clinton, by removing her from the Senate and politics generally, then appoint Caroline Kennedy to the New York U.S. Senate seat. Caroline Kennedy, after Obama served two terms (they are truly demented), would swoop in and become the next president.

We’re not kidding. They really believe this. Our ShamWow is soaked again.

Those demented Obama delusions are now no longer because Caroline Kennedy has no political future. Like Ozymandias, the mighty Caroline lies shattered to bits in a political desert. The list of problems with taxes, hubby, and lord knows what else, mean that Caroline Kennedy cannot fill out the 63 question vetting forms for a goverment job. Forms she herself helped prepare. Obama could not get a job if he filled out the 63 page vetting form either, but that is beside the point to our narrative.

Here is the Caroline Kennedy as Senator-then-President story from the respected Steve Clemons at The Washington Note:

But the question that is legitimate and remains is what machinations drove Kennedy to reach for this Senate seat. What was she thinking — and how did this fit into the game plans of two of America’s biggest political kingpins, Barack Obama and the ailing Ted Kennedy? And did she end up getting derailed by the Clinton machine? [snip]

Most writers limited their attention to the surface explanation she provided when she announced her interest in the Senate appointment. Kennedy said that her work for the Obama campaign stirred in her a desire to do more — and doing more for the public was what the Kennedy family operation had always, in her words, committed itself to. She said that she was ready in this phase of her life to move to a new career and that she was comfortable moving out of the shadows and into the public spotlight — though this was difficult to tell in her tightly scripted early press events in New York that couldn’t help but remind of the over-handled, over-scripted roll out of Sarah Palin.

But other machinations may have been at play as well.

Obama started with the Daley franchise in Chicago and then built into that the Daschle franchise, followed by the Kennedy franchise, and is now working very hard to absorb the Clinton political machine which is larger and more potentially dangerous to Obama than any of the others. [snip]

There is a saying that “those who supported Obama got a President and those who supported Hillary got a job” — as many of her loyal followers are popping up with key positions throughout the government while many of those who helped Obama from the beginning of his candidacy are still in the cold. And then there is Kennedy — and that big family brand that connects with so many in the country, particularly in labor union America. Ted Kennedy will soon die — and Obama (and many other of the Kennedys) want to see Caroline in the political game in a high profile way to provide leadership for the tens of thousands of capable political hands that Kennedy’s machine has produced to be loyal both to her stewardship of the family operation and then loyal to Obama.

Clemons writes that the information in his article comes from the Ted Kennedy inner circle. Clemons writes that Ted Kennedy’s loyal retainers have conveyed to me privately that the Senator aware of approaching death wanted Caroline Kennedy to take over the family and fulfill the plan.

But the plan Ted “may have had”, they say, had little to do with the New York Senate seat. It had to do with succeeding Obama in 2016.

Clemons details the plans:

The game plan — whether real or fantasy — is intriguing. It goes something like this. Caroline Kennedy would be appointed now to the Senate. She would perform well above the very low expectations many had for her and win handily the seat in the 2010 mid-term race in which that Senate seat needs to be contested again. She would then be in place until 2016. Ted Kennedy’s view “may be” that Caroline would instantly out-shine Hillary Clinton in the eyes of New York voters and in the American political scene and that in 2016, Caroline Kennedy would be 59 while Hillary Clinton would be 69.

I have no idea whether Ted Kennedy owned this narrative. All I know is that his friends and many key pillars of Kennedy Land believed that something along these lines is what animated Ted’s highly strategic approach to Caroline’s political future.

Clemons indulges in his own fantasy by suggesting that tax dodger Caroline -we presume after dumping her marriage blanc husband and publicly taking up with her New York Times concubine – accept appointment as ambassador to England or France. Afterwards, presuming we suppose that Americans forget her tax dodging and political ineptitude, Caroline can return from exile and accept her sceptre and crown swathed in ermine to rule.

The threat to Caroline, according to the Hopium addled, is of course Hillary Clinton. Hillary, who remains politically viable as long as Bill Clinton continues to campaign for candidates for public office. Hillary, who amasses more kudos in foreign policy while Obama stumbles domestically and has nowhere to go but down.

The Obama and Ted Kennedy ploys and plots to neutralize Hillary Clinton and begin the succession of Caroline I have blown up. Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton have not been neutralized. Hillary Supporters have not been neutralized. Instead of Hillary-land, we now have Hillary World-Wide, operatives everywhere, and supporters unrelenting and accepting no substitutes.

And while Hillary Clinton, the woman Caroline tried to succeed in the Senate, is now Secretary of State — it is clear that Obama still has some work to do to get the keys to the Bill/Hillary political franchise — and that this derailment of Caroline Kennedy removes for the time being a threat to Hillary’s longer term political interests.

Obama and Barzini Uncle Ted, along with the Hopium addled, suffered a big defeat because of Caroline K. It’s not an unusual defeat. History teaches us that sometimes the children don’t live up to the accomplishments of the parents. Idiot princes are plentiful in history.

The hare-brained Obama schemes have our heads shaking from side to side. Our faces are drenched. Our ShamWow is soaked. To borrow from Bob Dylan, the tears on our cheeks are from laughter.

[Still to come: Scheumer’s role in Lèse majesté, the unlikely but possible revolt against Gillibrand and Paterson in 2010, Kirsten Gillbrand and the possibility of defeat for the fake Obama “stimulus” bill, and the emerging NObama coaltion.]

  1. We certainly have to stick together. I sent out emails and action alerts by Ricki to stop the silliness. This year I traveled to 22 states to volunteer as a trainer, coordinator, advance team member at rally’s and met so many amazing patriotic Democrats who GET IT….naturally of course, they were at a Hillary event.

We can no longer allow the wedge issues like abortion, gay marriage, immigration etc distracted while the most fundamental tenets of our Democracy are whittled away beneath our bickering feet.

    This is BRILLIANT!

Admin, just wondering, have you ever read Balzac? Your narrative over the past year has almost as many characters as his epic 100-volume series with over 2000!

I can’t WAIT for the book!

  3. Obama Supporters got a President, Hillary Supporters Got Jobs.

Yes, and after seeing Chelsea here in Albuquerque, she has inherited a lot of political genes from her parents. She says she does not want to run (the crowd after seeing her presents and abilities asked), but she really looks like a natural. She handled everything thrown at her.

As you pointed out, people don’t always get the leadership abilities from there super star relatives. Caroline does not perform well out in public. She has other relatives that do, and they supported HRC.

  4. This is BRILLIANT!

I just wanted to THANK YOU for your efforts for HRC in the campaign. I did a little, compared to you, and it wore me out. I am not sure if I could do it again, but I know if HRC needs me, I will try to be there in what ever way I can.

  6. This is a barf-alert.

Suzanne Malveaux, one of the emperor’s top campaign consorts, just commented on the press incident with BO manhandling Jonathan Martin and said the rest of WH PRess Corp needs to ‘get over’ their infatuation with BHO.

    LMAO!
    What a shill.

  7. OT – admin, I just figured out that I had to log in to view comments now. Did you just change that because I used to be able to see comments without having to log in? Well, if this is the case then at least this gives us a bit more security without the blogger boyz and MSM reading everything we have to say.

The smearing campaign going on right now of Gillibrand and Patterson is practically a mirror image of the faux outrage against the Clintons last year. I blame Caroline Kennedy for this because she should’ve never put Patterson in this position in the first place. She had no business openly asking Patterson for the senate seat. I only hope that the media won’t jeopardize Patterson’s chances of winning next year. I’ve seen what it did to Hillary and I can’t possibly watch this all over again with the Obama faction in the media destroying every Democrat who ends up going against Obama’s wishes.

  8. Unfortunately, I’m not in a position to spend as much time here as I once did, or as much as I would like , but I’d like to welcome you to Big Pink, JW. I think you’re contribution here will add a great deal, and I look forward to reading what you have to say.

I’d also like to thank Paula for the StateGov link. We all have very busy lives, and we have to be somewhat selective in the things in which we take a sincere interest. Because of my admiration for HRC, and as a result of following HER career (for many many years, but particularly over the last few years), I’ve discovered that the work of The State Dept. is actually something that I want to invest my sincere interest in. So, thank you again, Paula , for pointing me somewhere that makes doing that just a little bit easier for me.

Last, but certainly not least , a BIG “thank you” to Admin for refusing to back down from the things that need to be said. In truth, I WANT this administration to succeed…I have to want that, because it’s in this country’s best interest for that to happen. But I DON’T want to do that by blindly supporting the “AGE OF FAKE”. That does NOT advance us, either as a country or as a people. It’s time we ALL find the courage to move the rocks out of the way….regardless of how slimy and icky they are. So…thanks for keeping us on task in that effort. 🙂

  9. Welcome jw300delegates. I hope you will share some of your ‘war’ stories.

    BTW,

Anyone else realize Suzanne Malveaux is AA? I never had a clue until she said on RS that the inauguration was a huge milestone for her family and spoke briefly about their pre-Civil Rights experiences. Maybe that explains her fauning coverage?

  10. HEHS,

I live in NYS and Paterson is not well-liked, here. it has nothing to do with the CK travesty although that probably will make it even harder for him to get elected in 2010.

So I don’t see the so-called ‘smear’ campaign as being similar to what was done to HRC.

  11. So if they could pull off electing an empty suit like 0bama, why not CK in 2016, right? It was quite clear that was Kennedy’s plan. What happened in NY is a defeat for big media, 0bama, and Kennedy on a monumental scale. Because if she had become the senator, she would have been the 2016 0bama clone.

  12. We KNEW HRC would get blamed for CK dropping out, right?

Sally Quinn just said HRC supporters probably ‘leaked’ rumors about CK to derail her candidacy although she admitted HRC wasn’t ‘behind’ it.

    UGH!

  13. like somebody mentioned upthread, Patterson was the one who said that Hillary was gettting in the way of Barack’s nomination at that tenuous time in the campaign when the entire New York coalition was still loyally steadfast to her.

so i do not really have any love lost for him at all. New Yorkers should kick him to the curb next year. another fucking Obama shill.

again thank you, Admin, for everything.

  14. Another brilliant post! Just when, I thought I couldn’t love this site more, another impressive and accurate article is posted.

I am glad CK is out of it. I had the same misgivings that she was being slated for 2016. Her support of BO, exhibited poor judgement, IMHO. She would have been a rubber stamp for whatever the powers to be wanted for her. Not much of a spine.

    ShamWow towels indeed. ROFL!

  15. PM,
‘What happened in NY is a defeat for big media, 0bama, and Kennedy on a monumental scale.’

Hopefully, it’s just the first of many. (defeats)

    imagine,
Paterson also said if BHO wasn’t elected it would be proof of racism. i have absolutely no use for the man. He’s really the ‘accidental’ governor, stepping in when Spitz was ‘outed’, although I still suspect Spitz’s weird departure was a set-up, a way to get another BHO shill in a position of power. One day we’ll find out what really went down with CK. for now it’s just bizarre, especially the reports that she called him Wed. to say she was thinking about removing her name from consideration, to him telling her to take 24 hours to think about, to her saying she would and then calling him after midnight to say she was dropping out.
i can’t wait to hear the real story.

  16. for her and win handily the seat in the 2010 mid-term race in which that Senate seat needs to be contested again. She would then be in place until 2016. **************
CK would have had to run again in 2012. Hopefully Gillibrand has the Clinton “machine” behind her; she needs to raise >$100 million over the next four years in order to defend her senate seat twice.

CK, with her badly sun damaged skin, will look 80 at 59 and Hillary, who has spent most of her life out of the sun, working her a** off, will look 59. As unfair at it may be, I think my GF is correct, an
“old” looking woman will never be elected President.

  17. hi basil9 and everyone,

what matters now is that THE SUCCESSION PLAN (i’ll call it that, for now) got derailed because the New Yorkers voiced out their dissent against it. Hillary’s were big shoes to fill and Caroline will be another Barack: in it for the glory and the power. New Yorkers ain’t gonna have none of dat.
Smart people these New Yorkers, eh?

I can’t wait for Admin’s article about how this whole drama unfolds.

‘I can’t wait for Admin’s article about how this whole drama unfolds.’

    Me too!

    IDUNN,
Good to see you again! Your post should show up soon.

  19. Suzanne Malveaux also this morning in a discussion on CNN about Obama not answering any questions from the press derided Bill Clinton by saying that he would go to the back of the plane where the press sits and talk so much that the press pretended to be asleep.

It so infuriated me that I wrote CNN to ask what sort of reporters would decide that they don’t want to hear what a sitting president has to say. Evidently they can make it up without any serious input. I asked CNN how long they were going to put up with these gratuitous insults at the Clintons.

  20. basil9

I think it is amazing how people so called experts can be interviewed regularly on these “News” shows and say probably, defaming peoples character, and never had to show one line of fact or back up. These shows have become vicious gossip columns, but not labeled as such.

On this site, people are always asking for the source. So maybe the power it has is justified, as people trust the information here, when they can no longer trust tingle down my leg people. (sorry I just could not resist).

  21. I trust the information here; and I am so grateful that this site exists. I stand ready to help again when HRC calls upon me, and to help Sarah Palin again when the time comes [I am a member of teamsarah.org]. I just wish that Sarah’s team would focus on getting her elected as opposed to beating the dead horses that are divisive [gay rights, abortion, immigration] and would turn off any former Hillary supporters she might seek. I know that I refused to stand next to the guy who was holding the Pro-life sign at our busiest intersection; I told him that I did not agree that a woman’s reproductive was a government issue and went on to say that whhhheeeennnn a man’s organ becomes government issue than I would revisit my stance.

Admin, whoever you are, I appreciate the thought provoking articles that you post here.

And, as far as SHE WHO SHOULD BE PRESIDENT is concerned, I love and admire her more every day. It lifts my spirit when I see that face light up along with that million mega-watt smile. We must stand together and strong to promote her and her ideals every minute of every day.

  22. I had to log in to get back here..I’ve missed out for days. Interesting articles and it does look like Carolines “coronation” was indeed the start of whole string of things.

Watching CK is like watching lint fall to the ground.

Still not understanding about Susanne Malveux comment .. was she holding up for barky or not? She was one of those who wanted to suck his dick during the primary

  23. HighlyEducated,

I don’t have to log in to see comments. I read the comments and at the bottom it says that to POST a comment I must log in.

I’m using Chrome and Opera. Usually I’m sort of automatically already logged in from one day to the next.

  24. Admin: OT… Something for you to chew on later. This topic is something that has been boiling on the back burner for the last two years in the Obama Camp, spearheaded by Donna Brazile and the CBC.

Robert Reich and Charles Rangel are trying to slide the Stimulus pkg under the noses of the Middle class, by diverting it to AA minorities, hoping the Middle Class won’t notice they are being cheated. This is currently a timely issue and needs to be brought out into the open.

This is a human family. Her terminally ill uncle wanted her to serve in the Senate with him. Her uncle collapsed Tues, got new tests, new prognosis. Family grieving and reconsidering, niece grieving and upset. Gov says needn’t be hasty, think it over. Family conference continues till midnight. This happens in family health crises.

I’m sure Admin is right on the larger picture. But on the Wednesday timing and confusion — does a Kennedy not bleed?

  28. Hi DOT48!!!!!!

‘Still not understanding about Susanne Malveux comment .. was she holding up for barky or not? ”

Sorry. I wasn’t very clear. She was saying that many of the WH press people were BO worshippers (except for Jonathan Martin) and seemed to be trying to justify her role as a (non)journalist during the campaign by saying stuff like he hadn’t been (s)elected yet and the softball (although she insisted she’d always been tough) questions were coz the(s)election hadn’t been decided and that now BO was CIC reporters should get over their adulation and ask the real questions. She was referring to follow-up questions after BHO ‘brushed’ Martin away by some who were saying stuff like, “Oh, can I say Mr. president again,” and nauseating drivel like that. What was especially ironic was hearing Malveaux chide other reporters for not doing their job when she was the number 12 suck-up during the election.

    Welcome jw300delegates:

I agree 100% with you. Not one of those issues can save our democracy. They have been personalized to death and quite frankly have become meanspirited in their mission for results.

I am tired of reading about the same issues over and over again that cannot be resolved anytime soon with some issues never seeing resolution in my lifetime. (In the past, this has been used as a Republican diversionary tactic and has shown to be quite effective) How many times can you beat a dead horse that isn’t going anywhere soon?

Of course, Big Pink is not included in my assessment of some websites/blogs and the primary reason for my coming here because Big Pink is not fixated on two or three wedge issues. Pink is flexible, informative and casts a bright light on current events helping to lead the way.

Good to see you here. We need all the help we can get pushing this Methuselah uphill.

  30. TDO,
‘I’m sure Admin is right on the larger picture. But on the Wednesday timing and confusion — does a Kennedy not bleed?”

Sorry, TDO, but I don’t believe a word any of BHO’s shills say. Call me cynical but I think the CK problem is more likely to be marital, personal, taxes, nanny problems and that she, or her pr team, are waving teddie’s condition around to divert attention from the real (whatever they may be) issues.
I’ve also read teddie and crew are furious at rumors his illness prompted CK’s withdrawal coz they’re afraid it might impact his health care legislation. I’m also not entirely convinced he was all that sick.

As usual, (IMHO) it’s all about THEM and has nothing to do with what’s best for us.

    =====================

I got flamed off a women’s forum for saying this, but it’s not the presence of wrinkles so much as the SHAPE of them. Laugh lines vs frown lines. CK’s face, habitual expression (which shapes wrinkles) — shows perpetual anguish, uncertainty, chronic emotional trauma. A high-paid public relations firm couldn’t even find or produce a more healthy looking photograph.

Of course the family tragedies weren’t her fault, but whatever trauma left those marks on her face must have also affected her emotional stability and judgment.

That’s waht I saw on a the commenst string on a lot of articles at NY Daily News etc. These weren’t just Pumas or “Clinton Machine” people, some of them bashed Hillary also. These were New Yorkers disgusted with CK, Paterson, etc. Some of them backed candidates other than CK or the feminist-supported cnadidates; some were anti-elitist. All of them bashed CK one way or another, whether for her history or for her conduct in her ‘campaign’.

  33. Had the Kennedy clan gotten behind Clinton I bet Caroline would have been appointed. The respect that the Secratary of State earned throughout New York is without comparison. She won over so many with her diligence. Many in the state differed with her on isssues but I think you would be hard pressed to find someone not rightfully impressed by how hard she worked for them.

  34. TDO,
This is from Political Wire. I’ve also read that TK is fuming about any perceived connection between his health and CK’s withdrawal coz he doesn’t want any obstacles to his health plan.

“An ‘apoplectic’ Kennedy family is seething over the rough treatment that heiress apparent Caroline got from Gov. Paterson’s office and is spoiling for revenge,” the New York Post reports.

Said one “well-placed” Democrat: “The governor’s going to pay for this. Ted is furious. The family is furious. The Kennedys are now against the governor.”

As much as I shamelessly revel in this whole fiasco, I reserve my harshest criticism at Paterson. He pretty much bungled this whole replacement process, displaying no leadership skills. First he allowed Caroline to act as heir-apparent, parading around as if the position was hers lock, stock and barrel. Then, as she was being devoured by the media, her critics and adversaries, said and did nothing to douse the flame. It all just became a complete embarrassment, made more so by this buffoon of a Governor.

He’s obviously inexperienced and not media-savvy. I wonder how New Yorkers have fared under his (non)leadership. Hope he gets the boot in 2010.

  39. basil,

I’m speaking ONLY of the TIMING of CK’s withdrawal statements: wavering during the day and making it official at midnight.

Some development/s other than Ted K’s collapse Tuesday may have been the trigger for CK’s decision Wednesday (and of course many factors weighed on the decision). But some confusion and a late night announcement are not unreasonable during a family health crisis (especially involving an elderly relative with brain damage).

Do you really trust the NY Post? Such tabloid language! So what if TK’s camp and/or the Kennedy camp is mad and doing damage control? Does that make them believable? Of course TK would deny any worse prognosis to protect his power in the Senate as long as possible.

  40. filbert,

I think Paterson talked too much to the media, uncool. However what he did say was to discourage CK parading around:

“The notion that I have to take Caroline is not coming from me. Why do you all pay so much attention to her? She’s just another person. So what?” [….] “He’s not responding well to outside pressure. He’s telling people, it would seem, that it’s his decision and he doesn’t like being pushed around.” [Buffalo News]

  41. Almost from the begining of the Caroline Kennedy fiasco we played “Miss. Otis Regrets”. As turndownobama writes, now the New Yorker has an article called “Ms. Kennedy Regrets”.

Wbboei wrote his version of lyrics for the great Cole Porter song.

    One more time:

  42. TDO,

I know what you mean but it’s the timing that makes me even more suspicious! I’ve seen the Kennedy-BO show before.

But, like i said, i am very cynical! And i can’t give her the benefit of the doubt. IMHO, she doesn’t deserve it.

And i agree Patterson bungled the whole thing. Doubt we new yorkers
will be calling him Gov very long. Gotta hand it to Illinois. At least their political fiasco is funny. (although i bet if i lived there i wouldn’t think that)

  43. WAY OFF TOPIC, but . . . . .

Anyone else ever get a message like this from the IRS with an attachment? Is this for real or is it a pc bug?

I’m not opening it but just wondered if anyone else had seen it.

“After the last annual calculations of your fiscal activity we have determined that
you are eligible to receive a Stimulus Payment.
Please submit the Stimulus Payment Online Form in order to process it.

  44. I wonder if the Pres.Carter snub of Hillary and Bill at the inauguration has anything to do with CK?? I wonder how close Carter and Uncle Teddy is?? I think all those real far out leftist’s are in this thing together. They want to marginalize Hillary and Bill and plot to do this regularly. They should sit back and realize that Bill is the only 2 term democrat since the 40’s and did do wonders for the economy. They are just jealous that they could not achieve what he and Hillary did!

  45. birdgal,
I wonder what it was? Oh well, I guess its knee deep in DC and there are many playing games all the time. Gee, I am glad I never went into politics.

Admin- I know what the problem is. It’s their browser coming from a glitch in the mainframe of Pinky. Pink did the same thing to me with netscape. Wbb and Neetabug can get through if they use Mozilla or Firefox instead of Explorer. I changed to Firefox and got through ok.. They can see the main page–thats it! If you e-mail them they will get through..

I sometimes had problems logging in and posting when using Internet Explorer but have much fewer since using Firefox.

I’ve found the news article. It was published on Jan. 9… way way after Caroline tripped and fell.

    ===============

It was the latest and strongest of many of Paterson’s statements pooh-poohing CK’s ‘parading’. If he were in the Kennedys’ pocket, he’d hardly have insulted them so publically and unnecessarily.

  52. Has politics always been so entertaining? I never paid much attention to it, before this past 1.5 years.

“ABC gets first Blago interviews; ‘GMA’ and ‘The View’ UPDATE

The rumors were true! ABC has nabbed Gov. Blagojevich for his first national television interviews since corruption allegations in November, according to a network spokesperson.

On Monday, Blagojevich will appear live on Good Morning America, skipping his impeachment trial that starts the same day. Following that, he will appear on “The View” with this wife, Patti.

UPDATE: ABC anounced Friday that the network had snared the first Blago interview, but that was before he went to NBC. Blagojevich said down with NBC’s Amy Robach for an interview airing on Sunday’s “Today” and “NBC Nightly News.” In the interview, Blagojevich put himself in some pretty illustrious company: Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

    politico.com/blogs/michaelcalderone/0109/ABC_gets_first_Blago_interviews_GMA_and_The_View.html#comments

  53. Blagojevich knows how to handle this situation, and he is going to handle O. It will be interesting to see how. If O puts Presidental powers to work, Blago might just retaliate.

Interesting to watch from the curb.

  54. basil9 Says: And i agree Patterson bungled the whole thing.

    ==============

I don’t think Paterson bungled the whole thing, I just think he talked too much to reporters. I like the actions he actually openly took: keeping his options open till the last minute, insulting the media and the Kennedys, giving a grieving relative more time to decide — and appointing Gillibrand.

Look, telling CK to think over her withdrawal was NOT a promise to appoint her. That’s a normal human courtesy to someone in an emotional situation.

  57. Malveaux and others from big media were “suck ons” not “suck ins”..I will never watch CNN again even though I do watch Nancy Grace to keep up with that baby’s death in Florida.

Birdgal, did you catch the skating? Bazaar event. I hope Michelle, Sasha and Irina ALL come back. US Nationals sucked. Love Allysa and I can tell improvement in her skating and maybe one more year under Botaino will do the trick – I had not watched any all year and I’m amazed that there is NO improvement in these people. What is happening.

  58. Dot, Yes I did. Bizarro event. I loved Alissa. Her jumps have improved, but her artistry is too die for. Flatt was flat. Zhang bores me to tears. Wagner has spunk, and she has improved. She had a bad SP, but won the FS. She may be the one to watch for.

Frankly, I am getting bored with the skating. It doesn’t have the same pull that it used to. OTOH, I can watch and not hide my eyes. Poor Johnny. Evan, blah. Ryan is always entertaining. Abbott was sublime.

  59. So what, does everyone think of this remark by Hillbuzz:

“2009 – HRH Princess Caroline of Kennedy begins lobbying President Obama to become the next Ambassador to the Court of St. James (that, or she’s laying the groundwork to fill Ted Kennedy’s seat in the Senate later this year.”

  60. ‘I don’t think Paterson bungled the whole thing,’

    Ok,ok, ok, TDO!

We’ll just have to agree to disagree about this! 😉

Although I’ve had a ringside seat at the Patterson show since Spitz got thrown out and from where I sit I’ve been underwhelmed. Then Again, i live in NYS so perhaps I’m biased.

  61. “she’s laying the groundwork to fill Ted Kennedy’s seat in the Senate later this year.”
    ************
Mass. has a special election to fill a vacant Senate seat. There hasn’t been a new Senator in Mass for 25 years. The special election will be a real dog fight. If she can win in that environment, she deserves to be the Senator.

  62. birdgal,

Maybe firefox isn’t so great. My last comment is still in moderation but then i did use a smiley face.

What did you mean about hillbuzz’s CK comment? Are you talking about an ambassadorship?

And if she does try for TK’s seat when he, ummmmm, is no longer with us, won’t that look awfully TackY? Then again, she had the nerve to try for HRC’s seat so …..

  63. Basil, just a comment by Hillbuzz. Who knows, what will happen, but an ambassadorship might be more appropriate for her. She is not a politician, does not have the personality or toughness that politics demand. To be quite honest, she seems like a shell, IMHO.

Hm, that might make her a first:
“Obama supporters got a president; Hillary supporters got a job.”

  65. Any word on the Supreme Court looking into Obama’s birth cert? I thought 1/23 was supposed to be some kind of hearing for the Berg case.

btw, I had some strange issues accessing the web site on Friday, maybe this is part of the issues admin mentioned. I could go to the main web site, and see the current and more recent articles, but could not see the posts, gving me “page not found” error. I wonder if I could have seen the posts if I had tried to log on as me…I didn’t think to do that, because I only ever log on once I’m inside any post.

  66. admin, nice pointing out the Obama cut-in *right in the middle* of Gillibrand’s speech. I supposed she was supposed to be **so charmed** to get some attention from “The Savior”.

He is a complete ego-tripper. I bet he thinks it was the “right thing to do”. The man knows no shame. His supporters will find out, sooner or later.

    We already know.

  67. Interesting post by Steve Clemons. Thanks, admin, for linking to it.

BTW, I do think Paterson bungled this. I never wanted CK to get it, but his public vacillation didn’t help. He complained about the media turning this into a circus but he certainly contributed to that.

  68. Sunday, January 25, 2009
And on the fifth day, subpoenas were served to Obama’s senior staff

On Saturday morning, the list of subpoenas served by the U.S. Attorney’s office in the Governor Rod Blagojevich case was made public. The list included one major surprise for the new administration.

    SNIP:

And, once again, the mainstream media is AWOL, unwilling to report on this very newsworthy story.

Among those served with subpoenas were:

David Axelrod, Obama’s “Karl Rove” and the biggest surprise on the list. Obama’s team issued a report in December that said his staff had no “inappropriate contact” with Blago, so the inclusion of Axelrod is a bit of a shock.

Valerie Jarrett, Blago’s “Senate Candidate 1”, a real estate management executive and political hack of the first order. Her ties to failed and fraudulent real estate deals in Chicago were the subject of numerous investigations and should have instantly disqualified her for any public office.

Rahm Emanuel was already deeply involved in the case with some reports describing as many as 21 conversations with Blago’s office during the period in question.

Tony Rezko, Obama’s first advocate, fundraiser and adviser, was convicted last year on numerous charges related to kickbacks, and is now awaiting sentencing. Rezko is “cooperating with authorities, FBI Agent Daniel Cain said in an affidavit.”

    Others served include:

    • Patricia Blagojevich, first lady
    • River Realty, her former employer
    • Friends of Blagojevich, the governor’s campaign committee
    • Citizens for Blagojevich, his former committee
    • Robert Blagojevich, the governor’s brother and campaign chairman
    • Christopher Kelly, former adviser and fundraiser for governor
    • Alonzo Monk, former Blagojevich chief of staff, now a lobbyist
    • Milan Petrovic, lobbyist and campaign fundraiser
    • John Wyma, former Blagojevich adviser, now a lobbyist
    • Paul Rosenfeld, lobbyist
    • J.B. Pritzker, wealthy Chicagoan whom Blagojevich might have considered to replace Obama in U.S. Senate
    • Gery Chico, former Chicago school board president and one-time U.S. Senate candidate
    • Doug Scofield, former Blagojevich adviser, now a consultant
    • Scofield Communications
    • Service Employees International Union
    • Tom Balanoff, SEIU Illinois president
    • Change to Win, an SEIU-affiliated activist group
    • Sam Zell, owner of the Chicago Tribune
    • Nils Larsen, an adviser to Zell
    • The Chicago Tribune
    • The Tribune Co., the newspaper’s parent company
    • Michael Vondra, owner of asphalt and construction companies
    • Gerald Krozel, vice president of a concrete company
    • John Johnston, president of Balmoral Park racetrack
Fred Yang, Washington, D.C.-based Blagojevich consultant
    • Garin Hart Yang Research Group, Yang’s firm
    • William Knapp, Washington, D.C.-based Blagojevich consultant
    • Squire, Knapp & Dunn, Knapp’s firm
    • Doug Sosnick, political consultant

Blago’s “Senate Candidate 3”, Jan Schakowsky, was not served with a subpoena, but will have some questions of her own to answer in the days to come.

Let’s recap, shall we? In the first week, Obama has not cut taxes — the only proven way to revive the economy — despite promising to do so for “95% of working Americans” (which was almost certainly a lie, but let’s wait and see); signed an order to close Gitmo, certain to make America less safe; and promoted abortion on a global scale.

Oh, and most of his senior staff was served with subpoenas.

I can hardly wait for week two.

  69. good evening, everyone!
why do we have to discuss what job to give HRH caroline? no offense meant to those who have an emotional attachment to the kennedys, but they TRAMPLED AND HUMILIATED Hillary by choosing a carpetbagger over her, knowing what they know about her accomplishments? not to mention the bonds and the friendships that their families have developed through the years?
    they screwed her.
so to caroline and uncle ted, karma is a fucking bitch.

  70. When you post those wonderful nuggets we are getting no where else, you need to start saying “You heard it here first Folks”. Because that is exactly what is happening in the news world today. You are hearing it first on the Blogs, the new free press.

  71. Great article as usual….I have new found respect for Gov. Paterson and think Hillary , somehow, had some influence here.

  72. Hillbuzz has a nice picture of Patterson, Hillary, Gillibrand and Schumer having lunch today. They look very comfortable together, which makes me think that this wasn’t the first time for this group lunch.

  73. Since Sally Quinn is a celebrity who is willing to trade in rumor and gossip about other people turnabout is fair play.

She is a virulent hater of all things Clinton and that begs the inevitable question: why?

Washington rumor mill attributes her animus to a little known fact that people have been unwilling to talk about until now.

Evidently, shortly after Bill became president Quinn made a pass at him, and he had the audacity (some might say good sense) to turn her down.

Yes, the irresistable Sally Quinn, the doyanne of DC, successor Pamela Digby Harrington aka the great horizontal, czarina of all the little russias popped the question and the answer she got was not at all what she expected.

Poor Sally Quinn. In the past it always worked. For example, she made a similar pass at Washington Post editor emeritus Ben Bradley and got him to leave his wife and marry her. So when Bill turned her imagine how badly that hurt.

Question: what is the point of being a homewrecker when the object of your calculations says no, with not so much as a thank you? She should be blaming herself, but instead she blames him. People should discount her catty remarks accordingly.

she made a pass at Bill Clinton and he had the good sense to turn her down, and apparently that was a hard blow to her ego. After all, she made a similar pass toward Washington Post editor emeritus Ben Bradley (now in his 90s), and got him to leave his first wife. Bill Clinton however would have nothing to do with her and she could never get over it. Thus ended her career as a homewrecker. And she is bitter about it.

  74. If Princess Caroline is made ambassador to the Court of St. James (a position which her bootlegging grandfather held until Roosevelt fired him because of suspected German sympathies), who will serve as her escort to formal events: Schlossberg or Saltzberg or some other German?

  75. “until Roosevelt fired him because of suspected German sympathies)”
    ***********
He was also a national joke in Britain because of his cowardly behavior during the Blitz. He was known as “Jittery Joe” because he got “jittery” and ran for the shelter if there was a hint of an air-raid.
Some people have speculated that Joe, Jr. volunteered for “Operation Aphrodite” because of his father’s reputation as a coward.

  76. Kennedy was a political threat to Roosevelt, so Roosevelt sent him overseas, to get him out the U.S. Roosevelt called Kennedy an “evil man.”

  77. Birdgal: you are correct. Roosevelt called him the most evil man I ever met.

I have given further thought to the question of who should be Caroline’s escort when she becomes Ambassador to the Court of St. James. He is Austrian not German but variety is the spice of life.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ky8LWJa06p4

The above is a beautiful ensemble of the silent movie work of von Stroheim. But if he is to escort Caroline to the Court of St James with all the formality that requires it would be best if he appear as he did in Sunset Boulevard, as the ex director, ex husband and butler to the delusional Nora Desmond. Alas, I could find no clip of that.

  78. As a NYer…I’m confused as to how I feel about Paterson. On the one hand he did say some ludicrous things during the election. And he screwed up the Senate appointment simply by allowing Caroline to parade around town as a sure-bet; he needed to have put a stop to it much sooner. On the other hand – I don’t think Caroline withdrew voluntarily. I think Paterson told her to take a hike. And that took some guts. So – I have two years to decide what I’ll do when he runs for election.

As far as Caroline vs. Hillary: it must be remembered that Caroline made a $2300 contribution to Hillary’s campaign after Hillary suspended her campaign. And Hillary’s campaign refunded Caroline’s money. If that doesn’t tell you how the Clintons feel about Caroline…

  79. DYB,

I’m quite sure that CK’s donation to Hillary and Hillary’s refunding it happened early in the campaign. soon after CK endorsed BO.
If CK made another donation after Hillary suspended, I doubt Hillary would refund that.

You said: ” And he screwed up the Senate appointment simply by allowing Caroline to parade around town as a sure-bet; he needed to have put a stop to it much sooner. ”

How could Paterson have put a stop to that? He was railing at the media about it as of Jan 9 (and insulting CK and her backers earlier, iirc).

Finally on w/o problems. Too late and too tired to comment much except for a couple of things.

Wbboei – your first comment re Sally the doyene was correct because she broke up Bradlee’s second marriage. One result of her behavior was a severe and very public scolding by a prominent writer for Salon when she stated during the impeachment hearings that Bill Clinton had “fouled his own nest.” The writer reminded her of her own past behavior 20 years earlier. She has a history of inserting her $800 shoes, with feet, in her mouth.

We haven’t had a war with Britain since 1812. Her presence at the Court of King James could change that. Not necesarily a shooting war but a war nonetheless. They are used to royalty over there. They are accustomed to marital intrigue over there. But certain things over there will not be tolerated and a family tradition of siding with the Germans is one of them. When she rolls into Buckingham Palace arm in arm with Von Strolheim what with his monacle and sabre scar it will be hard for them to keep a stiff upper lip.

  94. I hope this hasn’t been posted yet…lol…

In the “now I’ve heard everything” category:

    —————–

    Associated Press

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Gov. Rod Blagojevich, taking his defense to television rather than his impeachment trial, lashed out at his accusers Monday and revealed he had considered naming Oprah Winfrey to Barack Obama’s vacant U.S. Senate seat.

The embattled governor told ABC’s “Good Morning America” that the idea of nominating the talk-show host came to him as he explored potential candidates for the job that federal prosecutors allege he tried to sell to the highest bidder.

“She seemed to be someone who would help Barack Obama in a significant way become president,” he said. “She was obviously someone with a much broader bully pulpit than other senators.” The governor worried, though, that the appointment of Ms. Winfrey might come across as a gimmick and that the talk show host was unlikely to accept.

In the end, Mr. Blagojevich appointed former Illinois attorney general Roland Burris to the seat.

The revelation came just hours before his impeachment trial was set to get under way in Springfield. The Democratic governor is refusing to take part, arguing that the rules are so biased that he can’t possibly get a fair hearing.

In addition to the appearance on “Good Morning America,” Gov. Blagojevich also was scheduled to appear on “The View” and “Larry King Live.” An interview he did with NBC’s “Today” show also aired Monday morning.

Mr. Blagojevich is accused of abusing his power by scheming to benefit from a Senate appointment, circumventing hiring laws and defying decisions by the General Assembly. He reiterated his innocence Monday, telling “Good Morning America” that “I did nothing wrong. And if I did something wrong, I would have resigned.”

At another point he said: “Whatever happened to the presumption of innocence?”

Mr. Blagojevich’s Dec. 9 arrest was the final straw for lawmakers, who had spent six years butting heads with the governor. The House quickly voted 114-1 for impeaching him. That sent the case to the Senate, where it would take a two-thirds majority to convict Mr. Blagojevich and throw him out of office.

Lt. Gov. Patrick Quinn would replace him, becoming Illinois’ 41st governor.

  95. CK won’t become UK Amb — she will become the fodder for London tabloids.. they just have smelled blood with our media attention to her here and general gossipy curiosity all her problems would generate..

  96. wbboei: that was a grim slide show.
    ———————————-
I suppose so. It does have a Transylvanian quality to it. But the subject matter is interesting.

There was a whole power structure in Hollywood that rose to prominence when the industry moved from New York to the orange groves of California only to fall when talkies came in. It survived the Fatty Arbuckle scandal years earlier which led to the Hayes Commission but it could not abide the change in technology.

When my dad was going to USC law school in the late 1930s he roomed with other law students and an actor who had been a leading man in the silent movie era. That actor was down on his luck and was always mooching off the law students none of whom had money–after all, it was still the depression.

The story of von strolheim is similar. He was a leading director of the silent movie era, and artist and someone we would call today obsessive compulsive. We think movie like Lawrence of Arabia was long. Try a 2 day long movie– that is his idea of a full length movie. That led to cost overruns and set him on a collision course with producers which ended his career as a director and consigned him to oblivion until the role in Sunset Boulevard came along and somebody-maybe Billy Wilder remembered him.

My dad told me once that nothing captured the ambiance of Los Angeles in that era nearly as well as the movie Chinatown–with Jack Nicholoson (a Hillary supporter) and Faye Dunaway. A moment in time long gone now.

  97. Gov’t worried about media interest in Obama’s aunt

    Jan 26, 6:15 AM (ET)

WASHINGTON (AP) – The Homeland Security Department still is requiring high-level approval before federal immigration agents can arrest fugitives, a rule quietly imposed by the Bush administration days before the election of Barack Obama, whose aunt has been living in the United States illegally.

The unusual directive from the Homeland Security Department came amid concerns that such arrests might generate “negative media or congressional interest,” according to a newly disclosed federal document obtained by The Associated Press.

The directive makes clear that U.S. officials worried about possible election implications of arresting Zeituni Onyango, the half-sister of Obama’s late father, who at the time was living in public housing in Boston. She is now believed to be living in Cleveland.

A copy of the directive, “Fugitive Case File Vetting Prior to Arrest,” was released to the AP just over two months after it was requested under the Freedom of Information Act. It does not mention President Obama or any members of his extended family.

The directive is still in place, Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman Kelly Nantel told the AP. It originally was distributed Oct. 31 by e-mail to immigration officers by an assistant director at the agency. Obama was elected president five days later.

The White House said late Sunday that Obama “has not contacted any government agency regarding Ms. Onyango’s case, nor has any representative of the president.” It said Obama’s administration wasn’t briefed on why the directive was issued by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and will consider whether to overturn it.

“Like other rules and directives issued by the previous administration, it will be reviewed and revoked if it does not serve the best interests of the American people,” the White House told the AP.

Obama’s aunt was instructed to leave the country four years ago by an immigration judge who rejected her request for asylum from her native Kenya.

Despite the deportation order, Onyango traveled to Washington last week for her nephew’s inauguration. News organizations observed her attending an inaugural ball at Washington’s Renaissance Mayflower Hotel, a historic luxury hotel, with her immigration lawyer, Margaret Wong.

The AP was first to disclose Onyango’s illegal status Oct. 31, hours after the Homeland Security directive was issued.

    SNIP

The government’s Oct. 31 directive was “effective immediately and until further notice,” and required that immigration agents obtain approval from ICE field office directors or deputy directors before arresting fugitives. An approval would depend on an internal review that would consider, among other issues, “any potential for negative media or congressional interest.”

“A hold on any actions to proceed with arrest will be placed in the case file until I can review the case and evaluate the impact of the potential media or congressional interest,” wrote the assistant field operations director for immigrant detention and removal.

Nantel said there was never any direction that officials should not take action on an enforcement issue. It clarified that potentially high-profile cases needed to be coordinated with the agency’s senior officials.

The Homeland Security Department censored parts of the document before turning it over to the AP, citing privacy and law enforcement reasons for withholding some of the information, including the name of the person who sent the e-mail. It also blacked out the names of recipients of the directive, making it impossible to determine whether it was sent to anyone outside the department or outside government.

    SNIP

President Obama’s father, Barack Obama Sr., left the future presidential nominee when the boy was 2, and they reunited only once – for a monthlong visit when the president was 10. The elder Obama lived most of his life in Kenya, where he fathered seven other children with three other wives. He died in a car crash in 1982.

President Obama was raised for the most part by his mother and her parents in Hawaii. He first met his father’s side of the family when he traveled to Africa 20 years ago. He referred to Onyango as “Auntie Zeituni” when describing the trip in his memoir, saying she was “a proud woman.”

If you cant take care of your own house how can you expect to run the white house. He is constitutionally required to faithfully enforce the laws. She is his relative and is here illegally. How say ye oh great one. Do we give her amnesty or make an exception for her because she is your relative or do we faithfully enforce the laws? Another question our corrupt big media will never ask him.

  99. revealed he had considered naming Oprah Winfrey to Barack Obama’s vacant U.S. Senate seat.

Just when we thought the value of a senate seat in Illinois could not be de vaued further we learn this. Oprah is a real racist according to comments of key members of her staff. A friend has the same accountant and that was the source. Obviously this is not the view widely communicated, but when they shut down a major London shopping cener so she can shop there you realize the media myth about her is pure fiction.

Once again this will be a case of do as I say and not as I do. Turning a blind eye is the new motto for anything Obama wants to hide. His family will get a free pass. His new ethics policy was out how many minutes before he wanted to give a lobbyist a free pass to his cabinet?

I am worried about the new tone of racism/reverse racism. Is it a matter of “anything goes now” and to heck with the thin veil of courtesy and tolerance that has been in place for so long? With Obama in place, will Oprah and the like now feel they can push a new agenda?

  102. Was Blago really considering O’pra or was he just CREATING another headline for today to drive pelosi and reid crazy?

    LMAO!!!

blago might be crazy…………CRAZY AS A FOX !!

  103. A friend of mine, a police officer just came back from Cincinatti. He did a site visit and ride-along with the police there and was astonished to hear that when talking about the city’s problem spots, that despite the riots that went on there, they will no longer discuss any problems to do with “racial issues.” It is a taboo subject and they change it to something else if you bring up.

I know Obama stated that he wanted racism to be discussed and front and centre. I guess no one got the memo.

  104. B. H. Obama has proven time and time again to say/do one thing in public and another in private….remember it’s the chicago way

  105. Our history channel has been showing double episodes of “The West Wing” and “The Commander in Chief” on Sunday afternoons. It has been great catching up on two great shows, especially the latter with a woman president.

  106. janh, yeah we’ve to catch it on TV since it is still fiction to all of us. 12% of the population could say that they had waited for their opportunity for soooo long (it reeks of so much entitlement) and get it but 51% of the population is willing to sabotage itself from getting their own. Women who voted for 0bama are stupid.

  108. From The Confluence: the question is not whether Axelrod and Jarrett are dirty, but how thoroughly have they covered their tracks. Time will tell. I think SHV made reference to this above and wondered how long Fitzgerald will last. A very sticky wicket for Obama I would say. But life is never easy when you are a virgin in a whorehouse.

Is there a media blackout, or is this this really no big deal?

Sweeping federal subpoenas of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s administration include requests for records involving David Axelrod and Valerie Jarrett, senior advisers to President Barack Obama.

Among 43 subpoenas released by the Blagojevich administration Friday, one from Dec. 8 seeks notes, calendars, correspondence and any other data that relate to Axelrod, Jarrett and 32 other people and organizations.

That was the day before the FBI arrested Blagojevich, a two-term Democrat, on charges that he tried to trade his appointment to replace Obama in the Senate for campaign contributions. Wiretapped conversations show Blagojevich thought Jarrett was interested in the seat and he wanted campaign money or a high-paying job in return, according to a sworn statement.

Obama’s staff released a report in December that said his staff had no inappropriate contact with the governor’s office about the Senate seat, nor was anyone aware of any dealmaking. Axelrod, a Chicago political strategist now in the White House, was not mentioned in the report.

I don’t watch much TV, but googling produces no stories about this at CNN, MSNBC, or Fox News and very few stories anywhere else.

And does it mean anything that the story I linked to above in the Quad City (Il) times has now apparently been deleted? WTF is going on here?

If Blagojevich was asked to produce information on contacts with Axelrod, Emanual, and Jarrett, does that mean those three Obama aides also received subpoenas? That is what this guy seems to be claiming (h/t Cannonfire)

The story says that Blagojevich’s appointment calendar was also subpoenaed. Does that mean that Fitzgerald now knows that Obama was lying when he claimed he never met with Blagojevich to discuss filling Obama’s vacant Senate seat (meeting reported in another scrubbed story)?

  109. The New Yorker article made me dislike her (Kennedy) even more. She chose Obama, imo, to hop on the band wagon rather than stick by Hillary. The fact that Al Sharpton holds her in high esteem is enough for any well reasoned individual to realize she would have been a disaster.

  110. jbstonesfan,

I agree but I think it was more. I bet that Teddy has been filling her head with Clinton hate for quite a while and pushing her to do what ever it takes to keep the “Kennedy dynasty” going….by crushing the Clintons to smithereens.

I wonder how that’s working out for teddy now.

    ——————————–
I would expect they have all been subpoenaed. That would be standard practice if they are believed to have relevant information on Gov. That does not imply guilt on their part. The question is where will that information and that of others ultimately lead. At some point, will any of them become targets? Stay tuned. Fitzgerald moves methodically–like a mongoose stalking a cobra.

  112. And it all started allegedly cause fat Teddy took humbrage at Bill’s/Hillary’s remarks that LBJ played a significant role in enacting the Civil Rights Act??? The reality is, as much as we loved JFK, he moved towards civil rights out of political expediency and was not nearly the advocate of Civil Rights as Bill and Hillary have been their entire adult lives. Off course, we can’t fully judge JFK b/c of horrible events of Dallas, but truth be told, he was an average President at the time he was assassinated. The “Camelot” myth was created well before he took office and certainly embellished by a fawning media after his death.
Unlike Teddy, Bill was very loyal to Ted and helped him against a guy named Romney in 94. Likewise, Bill used our nations military to recover the bodies of JFK Jr. and his wife and should great emphtaty for said loss. This is the thanks the Clinton’s get from the Kennedy’s???

    ————————————
As I see it, this is all about the survival of the Kennedy machine and the guilt Teddy feels toward his family. He thought Obama would take over the machine but he was wrong. Obama care only about Obama and who can serve his purposes at the present time. I wonder if Teddy has figured that out yet. Certainly his failure to deliver the New York Senate seat was a wake up call if Teddy is comitose. There are alot of mouths to feed. Notice how the press refuses to examine Teddy and his motives. Yet another failure on their part.

    ==================

According to a puffy wiki, “Caroline Bouvier Kennedy
    born November 27, 1957 (age 51)”

Anyway, Bill Clinton was inaugurated President in 1993, when CK was around 40. Kind of old to start indoctrinating with specific Clinton Hate. However Ted K ran against President Carter in the 70s iirc, so he might have begun teaching Carter Hate when she was around 20.

More likely effects of a common cause, though. Elites (including both TK and CK) born hating low class may have caused TK to run against Pres Carter in the first place, and the Clintons may have just come in for it automatically.

If TK has long wanted her to carry on the family political machine, he should have long ago taught her how to drive it. However I do agree that TK was probably behind the recent things, starting with support for the Pelosi/Brazile faction and then accelerating with the Senate appointment attempt.
