Obama, Ayers, Rezko, Ahmadinejad, Wright, Part I

We’ll continue, during the next few days, to show John McCain the way to expose Barack Obama – the same Barack Obama who trashed Hillary Clinton when Hillary Clinton proposed a gas tax holiday – the same Barack Obama who trashed Hillary Clinton when Hillary Clinton proposed a 90 day moratorium (in May 2008) on home foreclosures.

Remember this Hillary ad?

Announcer: The economy’s in trouble, the housing crisis broke. Hillary Clinton called for action. Freeze on foreclosures.

Barack Obama said no.

Now gas prices are sky rocketing and she’s ready to act again. Hillary’s plan: use the windfall profits of the oil companies to pay to suspend the gas tax this summer.

Barack Obama says no again. People are hurting. It’s time for a president who’s ready to take action now.

Now Obama is the tribune advocating what he trashed Hillary for advocating. The man just cannot be believed nor trusted, ever.

John McCain will debate Barack Obama again this Wednesday. As we had conjectured, the last “debate” was a mess and it was difficult for McCain to make a strong case against Obama during that second debate due to the town hall format of the debate. But this Wednesday circumstances will be closer to what passes for normal these days.

Before the second debate we stated, as we will do today, that McCain has a case to make which merges the necessary questions about Obama’s character and the necessary answers to the economic crisis. But neither McCain nor his allies are making the necessary case.

Our main point: The problem with Obama friends like Ayers/Rezko/Wright is that when their interests are in conflict with the interests of the voters Obama will side with Ayers/Rezko/Wright not with the American voter.

The Republican National Committee is currently paying for an advertisment which is a waste of resources. The meandering ad, like recent McCain advertisements, seeks to raise concern about Obama associates like his pal William Ayers.

Why do we think the above advertisement and similar advertisements are a waste of resources? Because the advertisements do not making a strong case for how voters should vote. The advertisement is about yet another ugly Obama friend and only obliquely about Obama. Most importantly the ad is not about the voter.

Elections are about the voter. In the past few weeks the voters have gotten scared. Voters are losing money and homes. Voters feel like they are on a sinking ship and all they want to hear about is how to stop the water from flooding in.

We are not saying McCain should ignore Ayers/Rezko/Ahmadinejad/Wright. Quite the contrary. McCain should discuss Ayers/Rezko/Ahmadinejad/Wright and what these names mean to voters and their lives and particularly their economic lives.

Peter Wehner in The Unasked Question wrote about an interview Mark Halperin of Time magazine conducted with Robert Gibbs of the Obama campaign. [The interview can be seen HERE.]

Mr. Halperin’s question was straightforward. At some point Barack Obama learned that William Ayers was a domestic terrorist and was unrepentant about it, Halperin says, yet at a minimum Obama continued to associate professionally (and perhaps personally) with Ayers after knowing about his past. Halperin then asks if it’s therefore reasonable to conclude that Obama, while having deplored the violent acts of Ayers, felt it was fine to continue to have professional associations with a domestic terrorist. The answer, of course, is yes – and watching Mr. Gibbs squirm and evade that simple, direct question tells you everything you need to know.

Halperin’s question regarding the Obama friendship with bomber Ayers was: “Does he [Obama] think it is appropriate to have professional ties to someone who’s committed acts like that?” The answer is yes and that is why Ayers/Rezko/Ahmadinejad/Wright should be of concern to American voters.

The problem with Obama friends like Ayers/Rezko/Wright is that when their interests are in conflict with the interests of the voters Obama will side with Ayers/Rezko/Wright not with the American voter.

As we wrote before and will write again and again:

When Obama’s own constituents were freezing in slumlord Rezko’s tenements Obama was either unaware or uninterested in their plight. Obama was busy catering to the needs of now convicted Rezko.

The Ayres history of bombings was also uninteresting to Obama because Ayers was useful and profitable to Obama.

Obama knew Rezko was about to be indicted and yet he escalated his business dealings with Rezko.

Obama knew Reverend Wright preached “God Damn America” on the Sunday immediately after September 11, 2001 but even after Obama found out he neither denounced Reverend Wright nor did Obama leave Wright’s church.

Obama is only out to help Obama. Obama does not care about victims of bombings nor freezing constituents – Obama only cares about Obama.

John McCain must inform Americans that Obama cannot be trusted. John McCain must inform Americans that Obama puts Obama First.

John McCain must inform Americans that Obama’s entire history as exemplified by his friendships is Obama First.

John McCain must inform Americans that Obama will say anything but he is not on the side of working Americans.

John McCain must say Country First, Not Obama First.
