Don’t Believe The Obama Hype

In the weeks leading up to the first primary of 2008 the Dimocratic leadership and the Obama campaign tried to force Hillary out of the race. The people of New Hampshire however gave the first in the nation primary victory to Hillary.

The Obama campaign kept up the drumbeat about “the Math” and how the race was over very early on. But the race was not over. In the end the Dimocratic “Rules” Committee had to drag Obama across the finish line. The Dimocratic leadership intervened and awarded Obama delegates in an election in which he was not even on the ballot – going so far as to strip Hillary of some of her duly elected delegates and bailing out Obama. The Obama Bailout by Party leaders was applauded by Big Media in the same way we have seen Big Media applaud the Wall Street Bailout Bill.

As we wrote, the Wall Street Bailout Bill was a lot of razzle-dazzle that would not solve the nation’s economic crisis nor even come close to addressing the problem. In the same way, we opposed the razzle-dazzle Obama Bailout by the Rules Committee and the Dimocratic leadership.

The Obama campaign and the Chicago thugs did succeed in grabbing the nomination with bluster and aid from Big Media. Now the Obama campaign is trying the old razzle-dazzle again. This time it is to convince the American people that this election is over and those opposed to Obama should just stay home on election day in NOvember.

Obama incense burners shouted, after McCain took the lead in national and state polls immediately following the successful Republican National Convention, that the polls did not matter because Obama had a sure victory in the ground game. The argument was and is that Obama has so much support that all the campaign has to do is get all that massive support to the polls on election day. But once again, that is all Obama Bluster.

Forget the anecdotes and the Obama Chicago hype, let’s look at the ACTUIAL numbers:

This year, Ohio allowed any citizen not registered to vote to show up, register, and vote on the same day in Sept. 30 to Oct. 6 window. The AP was writing back in August, “If Obama’s campaign were able to tap into college campuses with one-stop voting, it would add thousands of votes to his tally in a state where, in 2004, John Kerry lost to President Bush by only about 118,000 votes, putting Bush over the top in the electoral count.”

Those who were already registered were also permitted to use the early voting window. The expectation was that lots of Ohioans would partake of the opportunity. The Washington Post reported, “The Ohio secretary of state’s office estimates that a quarter of all voters will cast their ballots as absentees or at an early voting location before Election Day, more than twice as many as did so four years ago.” (Obviously, absentee would make up a large chunk of that, but one would figure the early voting window would attact its fair share.)

And the anecdotal evidence was that the Obama campaign was readying the Mother of All Turnout Operations in this state. The Washington Post poll of Ohioans, 40 percent said they had been contacted by the Obama campaign either in person or by phone, an astonishingly high percentage. Bruce Springsteen was doing a concert at Ohio State University to get people out for early voting. Cuba Gooding Jr. was deployed to events in Dayton, Hamilton, Lima and Toledo.

The Obama hype was that before the end of the day on October 6 there would be a groundswell of incense burners overpowering the election sites. The actual result? The actual result with Bruce and Cuba holding events while buses waited to transport the Obama armies to vote immediately? 28, 466 votes. 28,466 votes out of 8.2 million registered voters and any new voters that could be shanghaied into registering and then voting.

The actual number of people, we presume citizens, who registered and voted on the same day (with Bruce and Cuba bussed in for that sole purpose) in the entire state of Ohio was 5,223.

Don’t believe the Obama hype – Obama can’t be trusted by friend nor foe.

Another aspect of this year’s voting which was almost entirely consistent was that Hillary Clinton received the votes of voters who decided on election day and Hillary Clinton received most of the votes of voters who said they were “undecided”. Frankly we think that “undecided” is really a NObama vote – these are people who do not want to be tagged as “racists” so they are keeping their mouths shut.

What the Obama campaign has managed to do is force Americans to say they are undecided because they do not want to be pegged as racists – the Obama campaign will then turn this around when they lose and say that these undecided voters are really racists – so once again the Obama campaign will play the race card when voters vote NObama. “Undecided” = NObama.

The New York Times today published an article today alleging that Tens of thousands of eligible voters in at least six swing states have been removed from the rolls or have been blocked from registering to vote. Without discussing ACORN nor other questionable voter registration activities the New York Times backhandedly questions the notion of a massive influx of Obama voters.

Still, because Democrats have been more aggressive at registering new voters this year, according to state election officials, any heightened screening of new applications may affect their party’s supporters disproportionately. The screening or trimming of voter registration lists in the six states — Colorado, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Nevada and North Carolina — could also result in problems at the polls on Election Day: people who have been removed from the rolls are likely to show up only to be challenged by political party officials or election workers, resulting in confusion, long lines and heated tempers.

The Times adds:

Although much attention this year has been focused on the millions of new voters being added to the rolls by the candidacy of Senator Barack Obama, there has been far less notice given to the number of voters being dropped from those same rolls.

Voters move and die in fairly large numbers. When the Obama hype machine states they have registered a zillion voters in a state what they fail to mention is how many Democratic voters are no longer on the voter rolls due to death or relocation. So every time the Obama hype is heard that they have registered a zillion voters in some state, shrewd analysts should take note of what the New York Times discovered: for every voter added to the rolls in the past two months in some states, election officials have removed two, a review of the records shows.

The Obama hype should be rejected and what we do know is that we might not know as much as we think we know or should know. Confused? In the year ending Sept. 30, election officials in Nevada, for example, used the Social Security database more than 740,000 times to check voter files or registration applications and found more than 715,000 nonmatches, federal records show. In Georgia the nonmatches were 260,000.

All the Obama hype of massive amounts of voters in NOvember? In three states — Colorado, Louisiana and Michigan — the number of people purged from the election rolls since Aug. 1 far exceeds the number who may have died or relocated during that period. In must win for Obama Colorado which has also had a significant population increase since the last presidential election, but the state has recorded a net loss of nearly 100,000 voters from its rolls since 2004.

How many new or previous voters in NOvember? We still do not know.

Usually, when state election officials check a registration and find that it does not match a database entry, they alert local election officials to contact the voter and request further proof of identification. If that is not possible, most states flag the voter file and require identification from the voter at the polling place.

In Florida, Iowa, Louisiana and South Dakota, the problem is more serious because voters are not added to the rolls until the states remove the flags. [snip]

In Georgia, the Justice Department is considering legal action against the state because officials in Cobb and Cherokee Counties sent letters to hundreds of voters stating that their voter registrations had been flagged and telling them they cannot vote until they clear up the discrepancy.

On Monday, the Ohio Republican Party filed a motion in federal court against the secretary of state to get the list of all names that have been flagged by the Social Security database since Jan. 1. The motion seeks to require that any voter who does not clear up a discrepancy be required to vote using a provisional ballot.

Republicans said in the motion that it is central to American democracy that nonqualified voters be forbidden from voting. [snip]

Considering that in the past year the state received nearly 290,000 nonmatches, such a plan could have significant impact at the polls.

That eligible voters have the right to vote and should be allowed and encouraged to vote is not the issue we are discussing. That there might be detectable fraud in voter registrations is not the issue we are discussing. The issue is that a lot of these issues such as who is voting in NOvember have yet to be resolved and that NOone should believe the Obama hype.

Michael Barone questions the Obama hype too.

The Obama campaign has spent much time and effort on organizing registration, early voting, and turnout efforts. Marc Ambinder of theatlantic.com, usually a cool observer, is in awe of their efforts. But as Jim Geraghty of nationalreview.com notes, very few votes were cast during the one-week period of early voting in the crucial state of Ohio—far fewer than Geraghty (or I) expected. The most successful recent turnout drive was that of the Bush-Cheney ’04 campaign, which relied on peer-to-peer volunteers, local people who made connections with neighbors with whom they had something in common (fellow members of a particular church, fellow accountants, nearby neighbors). The Obama campaign, in contrast, seems to be depending on youthful volunteers who seem unlikely to have such connections. Ambinder notes that, over the summer, the Obama organization concentrated on attracting more volunteers and only in September started concentrating on metrics of voter contacts.

A disciplined approach, certainly. But how effective are all those volunteers? Are they as effective as those stocking-capped Perfect Stormers of the Howard Dean campaign in Iowa in January 2004? You saw those orange stocking caps swarming all over Des Moines, but they didn’t end up producing many caucus votes. And that was in an early stage of the contest. [snip]

And there are surely a lot of marginally involved young and black Obama supporters susceptible to organization efforts—people who would not vote if not contacted but who will if urged and helped to do so. But as Sean Oxendine of thenextright.com argues, the one-week Ohio early voting numbers suggest that the Obama organizational efforts may not be producing as many votes as the Obama campaign hopes. We simply don’t know. There will be other metrics in the weeks ahead on which to base judgments. But I think we’ll have to wait until the actual election results start coming in to make a judgment on the effectiveness of these tactics. Which was the case in 2004. Journalists then provided good accounts of the easy-to-cover Democratic organizational efforts in black neighborhoods and university towns. They provided very little on the harder-to-cover Bush-Cheney ’04 organizational story. My working hypothesis is that peer-to-peer is a lot more productive than young, stocking-capped volunteers. The Obama campaign’s organizational efforts are obviously far superior to the McCain campaign’s. But I think it’s an open question whether they will produce the kind of turnout increase that the Obama campaign wants and, if the balance of opinion changes a bit, will need.

The Obama hype is that this election is over and decided. But we suspect that many voters will wait and decide whom to vote for until the very last moment – in the election booth.

John McCain is getting hurt by the flood of bad economic news. But John McCain, can still make the case that Obama’s history in Chicago, with Rezko, presages how Obama would ruinously govern.

John McCain and Sarah Palin are not out of this race yet. Barack Obama and Joe Biden still have not closed the deal.

Many Americans have had a deep down distrust of Obama. The economic crisis is causing some to try to put their distrust aside and vote their fears.

John McCain has sufficient time to remind Americans why they do not trust Obama and why they should not trust Obama. McCain/Palin are beginning to raise the right questions about Obama’s character and history and record.

McCain/Palin have to set the records on Obama out for Americans to clearly see. McCain/Palin need to tell Americans “Don’t Believe The Obama Hype.”

    His campaign is an obomination.

    It is obscene, isn’t it?

  3. Thank God you are still alive. I know the dial ups are happy.

Yes, this is a very complex situation, and I think the Dems don’t understand it as well as the Reps.

  4. McCain Camp Pushes Back on Polls (Do they no something we don’t?)

McCain pushback on Florida polls: “Our polling shows us up 7. My guess is they over sampled AA’s and under sampled Cubans.

McCain pushback on Q-polls: “These polls are laughable. We hope Obama thinks they’re true. The national tracking is clear: Some polls have us down 2%, some 4, some as high as 6. How could you have national numbers like that, but have those kinds of numbers in three of the largest, most competitive states in the country? These states are bellwethers because they closely mirror national demographics. Given the volume of campaigning in those states, we expect that they are close to the national track – if not tighter.”

  5. Obama camp downplaying payments to ACORN

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2008/oct/10/obama-camp-downplays-payments-to-acorn/

Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign distanced itself Thursday from its $800,000 payment linked to the liberal ACORN organization, which is under investigation in several states where it is suspected of filing fraudulent voter registrations.

Federal Election Commission reports show ACORN-affiliated Citizens Services Inc. got $832,598 from the Obama campaign for get-out-the-vote work during the primaries. But those payments stopped in May and the Obama campaign says they should not be an election issue.

“This is going to be an historic election with unprecedented voter participation, and we are committed to protecting the integrity of the voting process,” Obama spokesman Nick Shapiro said. “We support local officials in their efforts to investigate any fraudulent behavior and the full prosecution of any illegal activities.”

Still, the contributions to Citizens Services draw the Obama campaign closer to the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN, and the growing voter-fraud scandal that this week spread to the battleground state of Ohio.

The elections board in Cuyahoga County, which includes Cleveland, is reviewing about 65,000 voter cards submitted by ACORN after flagging 50 cards filled out for duplicate names, fictitious addresses, noncitizens and recycled names and addresses of currently registered voters, said board spokesman Mike West.

  7. Does it seems like McCain is not worried, I think something is up. I know he has the money. Here in Cleveland, i have seen only one McCain Headquarters I know Cuyahoga County is democratic. Maybe this is why he has only one headquarter in the Cleveland area. I stopped in there the other day it was not busy at all. I wanted a sign they were out. I asked for a button they told me i had to order it on line.
I told them i would stop in this weekend to make some phone calls. They need the help bad. Anyone who is on this board who lives in Cleveland and the surrounding suburbs go the the Mayfield office and make some phone calls.

Southern Ohio is Republican maybe that is where he is focusing on. I think O took Cuyahoga county.

    Obama’s 180 on genocide
    By Jeff Jacoby
    Globe Columnist / October 8, 2008

JOHN MCCAIN’S opening words last night were: “Senator Obama, it’s good to be with you at a town hall meeting!” Indeed it was. We now know why Barack Obama declined McCain’s invitation earlier this year to appear together in a series of 10 town hall meetings around the country. This is the format in which McCain excels, and he excelled last night. He was substantive, sympathetic, strong – sure of himself, his facts, and his convictions. On issue after issue, McCain sounded clear and mature. In a word, presidential.

Though most of the debate dealt with domestic issues, it was a foreign-policy question that sent me flying to my files. Moderator Tom Brokaw asked the candidates what their “doctrine” would be “in situations where there’s a humanitarian crisis, but it does not affect our national security,” such as “the Congo, where 4.5 million people have died since 1998,” or Rwanda or Somalia.

In such cases, answered Obama, “we have moral issues at stake.” Of course the United States must act to stop genocide, he said. “When genocide is happening, when ethnic cleansing is happening . . . and we stand idly by, that diminishes us.”

But that wasn’t how Obama sounded last year, when he was competing for the Democratic nomination and was unbending in his demand for an American retreat from Iraq. Back then, he dismissed fears that a US withdrawal would unleash a massive Iraqi bloodbath. “Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama said Thursday the United States cannot use its military to solve humanitarian problems and that preventing a potential genocide in Iraq isn’t a good enough reason to keep US forces there,” the AP reported on July 20, 2007.

What kind of candidate is it whose moral response to genocide – genocide – can reverse itself 180 degrees in a matter of months? Is that the kind of candidate who ought to be the leader of the free world?

Jeff Jacoby can be reached at jacoby@globe.com.

I am not sure, i will call the board tomorrow and check. I do know someone that works there.

I should have signed up this time to work down at the board instead of working as a presiding judge at the polls.

But I am still curious as to whether or not you can check to see if your vote was counted the way you cast it.

  20. Columbus Day -Mon. 10/13 – NObama’s Let’s rediscover America!

Come join us as Democrats, Independents and Republicans together to show others that it is
imperative and right that we join together and rediscover the American spirit.

“We the People” must be united in order to take back our country. Let us in this peaceful
demonstration show that “We the People” have a right to cross party lines for the benefit of our
    country.

We do this because we must- we simply can not sit back and let Obama march through PA and
have voters believe there is no opposition or rely on the media lies that he has it in the bag. Can
we? I didn’t think so – come out and enjoy the foliage and stand with us for an hour and show PA
the media has it wrong – there are plenty of us who are still enjoying apple cider this fall instead
    of Kool-Aide.

We will be long done prior to the Obama event and Concert is scheduled at 7 PM at PSU. We do not
expect any controversy – there is no Alcohol problems that we are aware of on this campus nor any problems expected prior to the concert event. Student Republicans have been invited and seem
    anxious to attend.

Please join us for the day or for an hour ! Meet us at 1:00 We will march peacefully a few blocks
together beginning 2:30 pm – Exact location to be announced Friday.

  21. s, I might just go see that movie. I saw Kelsey Grammer peddling it earlier. It seems that he took all his money out in April anticipating the crisis we have now. He said, many when Obama started proposing that huge capital gains tax did the same. I think Obama is running a campaign of fear and his policies have made it worse, it seems like — he is the beneficiary of the messy situation he perhaps helped in some small part to create. Ironically he is also the one who is going to fix it because he is calm, cool, and collected and a Democrat (this was a reporter peddling his talking points.) There is some cruel joke in all of this.

  25. http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/1008/Obama_on_Ayers_I_assumed_he_had_been_rehabilitated.html?showall

In an interview with the sympathetic conservative talk radio host this afternoon, Obama offered the clearest explanation yet of how an extremely careful politician allowed himself anywhere near a former ’60s radical who would become a Republican target in this year’s presidential campaign.

Obama “had assumed” from Bill Ayers’ stature in Chicago, he told the Philadelphia-based Michael Smerconish, that Ayers had been “rehabilitated” since his 1960s crimes.

In the interview, which was taped this afternoon and will air tomorrow, and which you can listen to above, Obama recalled moving back to Chicago after law school, and becoming involved in civic life there.

“The gentleman in question, Bill Ayers, is a college professor, teaches education at the University of Illinois,” he said. “That’s how i met him — working on a school reform project that was funded by an ambassador and very close friend of Ronald Reagan’s” along with “a bunch of conservative businessmen and civic leaders.”

“Ultimately, I ended up learning about the fact that he had engaged in this reprehensible act 40 years ago, but I was eight years old at the time and I assumed that he had been rehabilitated,” Obama said.

That may not have been an unreasonable assumption for Obama in the 1990s. Though Ayers never repented his part in the Weather Underground bombings, he had not yet become notorious for advertising them. That notoriety returned in 2001, when he published his memoir, “Fugitive Days,” and reminisced about the bombings in a New York Times interview that happened to appear September 11 of that year.

  26. You don’t “Not know ” something , and then “assume” the something was something else.

Either he knew or he didn’t? Which is it?

  27. For me, the most plausible explanation for Ayers is that they first met in NY and Ayers is the reason that Obama ended up in Chicago.

  28. Same here SHV. Not a doubt in my mind they met in NY. Bet you anything Ayers was the one who introduced Oliar to Emil Jones too.

  29. At some point Obama will assume Ahmedinajad is rehabilitated and sit with him to exchange notes nuclear technology. With Ayers it was education and with the Iranian it has got to be nuclear technology.

  30. ayers being an unrepentant terrorist is no longer the issue. The issue is that bambi lied qualified a lie and then lied again. I bet nothing would make ayers happier than to create civil discord. Bambi loses and he can scream racism with Bruce Springsteen singing Glory Days in the background.

  31. http://www.politico.com/blogs/jonathanmartin/1008/McCain_uses_Hillary_for_Ayers_cover.html

GIBSON: You don’t think he’s been thoroughly vetted, having gone through all the primaries and all the campaigning, running for president as long as you have? Two years?

MCCAIN: No, actually I don’t. In fact, Sen. Clinton in their debates said that the American people didn’t know enough about him, including his relationship with Mr. [William] Ayers. That’s what she said. And I agree with that. He said he was a guy in the neighborhood. We know that’s not true. He said — he wrote down a piece of paper that he would take public financing for his presidential campaign if I would. He betrayed the trust of the American people there.

He looked in the camera twice during the debate with Sen. Clinton and said, “I will sit down and negotiate with John McCain before I decide to forgo public financing for my campaign.” He never called me. He looked in the camera and told the American people something that was patently false. He told the American people about his relationship with Mr. Ayers, that he was a guy in the neighborhood.

He wasn’t a guy in the neighborhood. He launched his political career in his living room, in Mr. Ayers’ living room. And I don’t care about two washed-up old terrorists that are unrepentant about trying to destroy America. But I do care, and Americans should care, about his relationship with him and whether he’s being truthful and candid about it.

GIBSON: Do you think the relationship with Ayers is a critical issue in this campaign or factor in this campaign?

MCCAIN: I think it’s a factor about Sen. Obama’s candor and truthfulness with the American people. That’s what I think it’s about. As I say, I don’t care about Mr. Ayers who on Sept. 11, 2001 said he wished he’d have bombed more. I don’t care about that. I care about him being truthful about his relationship with him. And Americans will care.

GIBSON: And you’re comfortable that this should be a focus in the last days of the campaign?

MCCAIN: I think it’s something that needs to be examined. Sen. Clinton said it should be examined during their primary and never was.

    The Unasked Question
    Peter Wehner – 10.08.2008 – 5:39 PM
Mark Halperin of Time magazine conducted an intelligent and revealing interview with Robert Gibbs, a senior adviser for Barack Obama’s campaign, which can be seen here. http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid1369783285/bclid1842745163/bctid1842751431

Mr. Halperin’s question was straightforward. At some point Barack Obama learned that William Ayers was a domestic terrorist and was unrepentant about it, Halperin says, yet at a minimum Obama continued to associate professionally (and perhaps personally) with Ayers after knowing about his past. Halperin then asks if it’s therefore reasonable to conclude that Obama, while having deplored the violent acts of Ayers, felt it was fine to continue to have professional associations with a domestic terrorist. The answer, of course, is yes – and watching Mr. Gibbs squirm and evade that simple, direct question tells you everything you need to know.

One wishes that Senator McCain, or Tom Brokaw, or Bob Schieffer, or Jim Lehrer, or anyone else in the press would ask that same question of Senator Obama, in just the same way that Halperin did. It would be an illuminating response.

It’s up to voters to decide how much weight they want to put on Senator Obama’s association with Bill Ayers. Some may believe it should matter a lot, some may believe it should matter a little, and some may believe it shouldn’t matter at all. But that association, like the associations with the Reverend Wright and Tony Rezko, are part of Obama’s history and deserve to be discussed in a temperate, reasonable, factual way. Mark Halperin attempted to do just that. Team Obama’s evasive and clumsy response simply raises additional doubts about its candidate and his past. If there’s a simple explanation to Obama’s past associations, it would be helpful to hear what it is.

What McCain said about not letting your enemy know what you are doing but carrying a big stick gives me hope. Is the next debate Wed or Thurs?

  38. admin,

the most frustrating thing about this election is that NObama has never been fully vetter. He is a mystery and that alone should scare the hell out of anyone.

  39. admin
He lied. When caught he qualified. Then he got caught that his qualification was a lie and he lied. For me that’s where he should be hit. He is a liar.

  40. admin
I think once or twice you may have mentioned that obama cannot be trusted. (don’t know how to make those winking icons)

  41. By the way, Marc Hill may be a cutie, but he’s lost his mind if he thinks “hockey mom” is racial code language. Way to jump the shark, Marc. 🙄

  42. I got pissed off when they made such a big deal about Palin dropping her “g’s” but noone ever uttered a word about how michelle and that one spoke very differently to black audiances than they did when speaking to whities.

I heard on O’Reilly that when Sarah Palin refers to hockey moms she isn’t talking about the black community therefore it is racist. O’Reilly had that young black professor who has that great smile who said that.

I did some research about black hockey players…guess these guys don’t have moms

Debbie, I saw that interview and I could not believe what I was hearing…

Is this the world we are going to live in if Obama and the far left take over complete control of our governement?

I never heard anything so ridiculous…so now we have to watch every word we say, because the terms ‘hockey mom’ and ‘joe sixpack’ are code words for racism…so what, caucasion people have to eliminate part of their vocabulary because even though they don’t know it, they are racists?

…this is getting so out of control and I honestly fear what life will be like with obama and the far left in control…for one, our economy will probably totally collapse because no investor in his right mind will keep money in a failing economy with the far left in complete control that intends to tax them to death while spending on programs there is no money for…

i can just see what is going to happen if he wins…truth squads, no dissension, all MSM saying the same thing at the same time, no dissent…if you dare to have an different or critical opinion you will be shouted down, labeled, name called…the hate, the vitriol, will be obsessive and even more irrational if that is possible….obama revenge on display

it is frightening…and all with obama worship and his zombie singing kids and teenagers in military outfits giving their life to Obama

  44. One last thing i was closing tabs and when I got to Marc Hill’s I noticed at the top of the page it reads “Public Intellectual” WTF? Professor–Author– Speaker– Public Intellectual

Who would ever label themself as an intellectual. Pretentious Ass Syndrome. PAS far worse for those around you than PMS.

Is Governor Palin not married to an individual who is part eskimo? And as such aren’t her children of mixed heritage. Ooops never mind i was being silly native Americans haven’t suffered.

  46. My apologies to all for my last comment. Stupid. I woke up today with the bubonic plague and have been sipping bourbon all day, but no excuse.

  47. henry, maybe palin should say that…and shut up all this racism talk…

it is so over the top…i know many of us have commiserated that we actually feel that obama is setting race relations backwards and creating a bigger polarizing divide…and everyone is so hot now…geesh!

  48. I lived in New York for almost twenty years and never thought twice about referring to some one as black or hispanic or light skinned hispanic. Now in the burbs if I refer to someone as black i get looked at like I was lynching someone. Ironiclly I only get that look from white people and I have asked black friends if they found it offensive and those I know all said they hate being called AA’s.

    ===================

In 2000 and 2004, the Republicans falsely accused the Dems of voter fraud, to keep many Dems from voting or their votes from being counted. This time the accusations are true, the Dems really are trying to pass bogus and unqualified votes.

  50. You have to wonder about a secretary of state who is unwilling to take all steps necessary and proper to prevent voter fraud. Is she bound by legislation as a friend of mind suggested, or does she have the discretion to act here and simply refuses? She knows ACORN is committing voter fraud yet she will not insist deal with it effectively. And when a US District Judge orders her to do the right thing she says she will appeal the decision. If it were me, I would put the onus on the governor of each state to direct the secretarty of state to stop screwing around and comply with the judges order. Also, in view of the pending threat I would ask the governor to have the secretary of state in each of those 21 states to certify in writing that the safegards are in place, the machines are not tampered with, and the early ballots have been validated. If this is not done and there are allegations of fraud it will undermine the perception of fairness and the perceived legitimacy of the next president, at a time of high risk to the nation.

We managed to get there finally but lost a couple critical hours of canvassing. This is really no different that the problem bambi would face it the country has a death wish to elect him. We did not know where we were going and neither does he. Neither of us had been there beforew. So we got three conflicting opinions, he will get twenty or two hundred or two thousand depending on how many Harvard advisors and big media hangers on he relies on but in the end it will come down to him who to believe and that is a formula for disaster. President is not an enty level job. No amount of bread and circuses or media hype can change that–especially at a time of two wars and a sinking economy.

Well Obama and his minions got away with it during the primary, the unfairness and everything, it did undermine the perceived legitimacy of him as a nominee for a short time but what do you see now — most Dems who saw all this in the primary are supporting him. If he wins in this ugly way, there will be some uproar immediately but everybody will rally around him, think 2000. Allegations of fraud will be labeled racist and everybody will shut up. Wbboei, I am not optimistic that there will be any price paid or lessons learnt.

He proceeded to tell me that he knows most of the money went into illegitamite politicians hands but some went to a good cause, but he said it was his choice. not the gov’ts. I was very suprised. Obama & Friends: Judge Not?
    By Charles Krauthammer

WASHINGTON — Convicted felon Tony Rezko. Unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers. And the race-baiting Rev. Jeremiah Wright. It is hard to think of any presidential candidate before Barack Obama sporting associations with three more execrable characters. Yet let the McCain campaign raise the issue, and the mainstream media begin fulminating about dirty campaigning tinged with racism and McCarthyite guilt by association.

But associations are important. They provide a significant insight into character. They are particularly relevant in relation to a potential president as new, unknown, opaque and self-contained as Obama. With the economy overshadowing everything, it may be too late politically to be raising this issue. But that does not make it, as conventional wisdom holds, in any way illegitimate.

McCain has only himself to blame for the bad timing. He should months ago have begun challenging Obama’s associations, before the economic meltdown allowed the Obama campaign (and the mainstream media, which is to say the same thing) to dismiss the charges as an act of desperation by the trailing candidate.

McCain had his chance back in April when the North Carolina Republican Party ran a gubernatorial campaign ad that included the linking of Obama with Jeremiah Wright. The ad was duly denounced by The New York Times and other deep thinkers as racist.

This was patently absurd. Racism is treating people differently and invidiously on the basis of race. Had any white presidential candidate had a close 20-year association with a white preacher overtly spreading race hatred from the pulpit, that candidate would have been not just universally denounced and deemed unfit for office but written out of polite society entirely.

Nonetheless, John McCain in his infinite wisdom, and with his overflowing sense of personal rectitude, joined the braying mob in denouncing that perfectly legitimate ad, saying it had no place in any campaign. In doing so, McCain unilaterally disarmed himself, rendering off-limits Obama’s associations, an issue that even Hillary Clinton addressed more than once.

Obama’s political career was launched with Ayers giving him a fundraiser in his living room. If a Republican candidate had launched his political career at the home of an abortion-clinic bomber — even a repentant one — he would not have been able to run for dogcatcher in Podunk. And Ayers shows no remorse. His only regret is that he “didn’t do enough.”

Why are these associations important? Do I think Obama is as corrupt as Rezko? Or shares Wright’s angry racism or Ayers’ unreconstructed 1960s radicalism?

No. But that does not make these associations irrelevant. They tell us two important things about Obama.

First, his cynicism and ruthlessness. He found these men useful, and use them he did. Would you attend a church whose pastor was spreading racial animosity from the pulpit? Would you even shake hands with — let alone serve on two boards with — an unrepentant terrorist, whether he bombed U.S. military installations or abortion clinics?

Most Americans would not, on the grounds of sheer indecency. Yet Obama did, if not out of conviction then out of expediency. He was a young man on the make, an unknown outsider working his way into Chicago politics. He played the game with everyone, without qualms and with obvious success.

Obama is not the first politician to rise through a corrupt political machine. But he is one of the rare few to then have the audacity to present himself as a transcendent healer, hovering above and bringing redemption to the “old politics” — of the kind he had enthusiastically embraced in Chicago in the service of his own ambition.

Second, and even more disturbing than the cynicism, is the window these associations give on Obama’s core beliefs. He doesn’t share Rev. Wright’s poisonous views of race nor Ayers’ views, past and present, about the evil that is American society. But Obama clearly did not consider these views beyond the pale. For many years he swam easily and without protest in that fetid pond.

Until now. Today, on the threshold of the presidency, Obama concedes the odiousness of these associations, which is why he has severed them. But for the years in which he sat in Wright’s pews and shared common purpose on boards with Ayers, Obama considered them a legitimate, indeed unremarkable, part of social discourse.

Do you? Obama is a man of first-class intellect and first-class temperament. But his character remains highly suspect. There is a difference between temperament and character. Equanimity is a virtue. Tolerance of the obscene is not.

  59. McCain has only himself to blame for the bad timing. He should months ago have begun challenging Obama’s associations, before the economic meltdown allowed the Obama campaign (and the mainstream media, which is to say the same thing) to dismiss the charges as an act of desperation by the trailing candidate.

Exactly our feelings at Big Pink. But hey, it’s not like we haven’t been incredibly, loudly, vocal with our advice, is it? 🙄

  60. Admin,

“At some point Barack Obama learned that William Ayers was a domestic terrorist and was unrepentant about it, Halperin says, yet at a minimum Obama continued to associate professionally (and perhaps personally) with Ayers after knowing about his past.”

WTH? He has gone on forever saying he didn’t know about Ayers background. Now on a radio show he says he does know? Halpern is dead on! Isn’t this the same rhetoric as he didn’t know what Wright was saying in church? He didn’t know that Rezko was a crook???

    This has gone beyond ridiculous!

And if the markets are diving because he is ahead in the polls and wall street is terrified he will win, then this is what the repubs should be pushing. The economy will sink to rock bottom if Obama gets anywhere near the oval office.

  61. Idunn (morning all!)

the comments in that article are hysterical. It’s ALL a GOP PLOT to discredit Democrats and the Media are all shills for the Republicans!

    LMAO

On the other hand, I fear deeply that ANY dissent about Nobama, should he win, will bring on terrible retribution.

Get your passports ready folks. Although, they have now tanked our money, and I read somewhere that some Dem (can’t remember who) passed a bill making it illegal to take your money out of the country if you do leave.

    I’ll look further

  63. went over to taylor-i’m-completely-insane-marsh’s website just for laughs. there you will see a sarah silverman utube where she describes BHO as “circum-super-sized” and refers to the United States as “ass-holes of the universe”

that should bring in lots of votes.

  64. Norma Desmond,

investors scare the hell of Obama presidency. they just keep selling their stocks untill they are sure the BHO will be defeated.

  65. sarah silverman sadly she just misses being funny in everything she does
Were it not for her beau Jimmy Kimmel she’d have disappeared long ago

  66. Obama’s advisor for Muslim relations and outreach is in trouble (the new one he hired) for meeting again with CAIR and Hammas reps!

    Obama said he didn’t know.

    imagine.

  67. For what it is worth, one of the major trading houses is saying we are 10-15% from a market bottom. Maybe the weekend will help and maybe not. I am surprised the suspension of trading rules have not been invoked as they have in prior market declines. The stories do not interest me right now even though I am as exposed to it as anyone with no more cushion than most people.

The thing that concerns me right now is this election and maybe that is simply my delusion. We all have them you know–delusions. Without them life is unliveable. But here they may also be important in terms of the ultimate outcome.

In facing any crisis it is best to consider the worst case scenario, the best case scenario and then the most likely scenario. This is not quantum mechanics however it is more like a gutcheck.

The worst case scenario would be a Fall of the House of Bardi situation. Some people have suggested this as a possibility. If it did come to pass then I suspect there would be a prolonged period of instability, scaled down economic activity and local concerns would predominate over national ones. I am not persuaded that this will happen, but that is simply my gutcheck.

The best case scenario would be bold steps by all governments to confront the problem and assume some degree of political economic risk spread equally among its citizens. I know it sounds like socialism, but it is more like the draft was in world war II. Perhaps that was an aberration but the fact that it did happen once provides a reason to be optimistic that it could happen again.

The most likely scenario depends on the decision which will be made in a few weeks as to whom our next president will be. A friend who is a bundler called last night and said what we are all thinking per ABM 90 namely we could have had Hillary. In that case the proactive steps would now be in motion, and the world would be on the path to recovery. He said that and I believe it.

But the fact is we do not have Hillary–at least not now. And while it is true that both candidates are paying lip service to some of her ideas, it is unclear to me that any of them will be implemented. Hillary is a leader made for this moment, and the Ted Kennedys, Deans, Pelosis and dogshit Brazilles prevented it from happening.

Krauthammer for all his usual insight is right and wrong at the same time. He is right about the need for McCain to have acted sooner. I have been as keen on that point as anyone, and have been communicating it to the campaign for months. To date it has not happened. Whether people can make that transition now with the shadow of the ecomomy looming remains to be seen. I still think there is time.

He is wrong however in his assessmment of Bambi. What I find in Bambi is a Machiavellian. That is dangerous at any time but it is particularly so in a crisis situation. I read him as the kind of individual who would be a rutheless demogogue if he became president. People like that use a crisis to destroy civil liberties and divide the country. In sum, he could take us in the direction of a House of Bardi scenario.

McCain is very different. Unlike Obama he is loyal to our country and is self effacing as opposed to arrogant. He is the paragadim of what Napoleon looked for in a general–a strong mind not a brilliant one. Staff people can provide brilliance-the job of the leader is to lead. Here is the full statement by Bonaparte of the test which McCain passes and Obama fails:

The first qualification of a general in chief is a cool head–that is a head that receives just impressions and estimates things and objects at their real value. (Note: not a bamboozler). He must not allow himself to be too elated by good news or too depressed by bad.

The impressions he receives either successively or spontaneously during the day should be so classed as to take up only that place in his mind which they deserve to occupy; since it is upon just such a just comparison and consideration of he weight due to different impressions that the power of reasoning and right judgment depends.

Some men are so physically and morally constituted as to see everything in a highly colored medium. They raise up a picture in their mind on every slight occasion and give to every trivial occurrence a dramatic interest. But whatever knowledge talent or other good qualities such men possess, nature has not formed them for command.

if anyone can provide the link i’d appreciate it coz i didn’t copy it.

    gotta go. see ya later.

  70. I do think McCain’s people were too afraid about Clinton replacing Obama which was perhaps the reason for them not starting to expose Obama sooner. The other complication was the lateness of the convention dates. Then came the economic crisis. It seems like there was no perfect window to bring in his past associations. They should have hit him with it when they made those celebrity ads. McCain talking about Wright is a double edged sword — it cuts into minority culture and even protection to some extent and of course with fake racism charges being thrown around, I can understand McCain not wanting to get into it. But his surrogates could have made a forceful case — a white candidate with a history of working with David Duke will never make it. But this again goes back to minority rights and protection — the onus is always on the majority to protect the minority. Obama is benefiting greatly by all this.

On another note, here is a comment from RD blog: I have been thinking about this for sometime now.

Obama is acting like he expected this — you know the calm, cool, and collected talking points his minions throw around. Time is too short to investigate anything.

  74. SHV, he has been saying that on Fox for quite sometime. That is the most grating thing I have heard. To me he is a guy who is street smart, can do anything — there are no lines in the sand that he won’t cross, think of all his lying, and unfortunately, he also has education from brand name schools but it appears like he was not rich enough to buy into those schools all of which confuses people. We should ask this Krauthammer to show evidence for the first-class intellect, what does he base it on.

  75. As i have the bubonic plague and can’t leave my cacoon i think I will spend the entire day going all over the internt saying bambis plane smells

  76. henry, the journalist who said Obama’s plane smells has already been slapped down as a racist. Saying his plane smells bad (maybe from him smoking? maybe from a bad cleaning staff?) is now a nasty RACIST comment, according to big media.

surely you jest. A reporter says bambi’s plane reeks ergo he is a racist. It’s comical. I bet its that Gibbs guy who gives it a funk and he defines cracker.

  80. pm317
i heard he screamed where is my sound guy in front of the audience and then also admonished him in front of everyone. Damn those nondisclosure agreements.

  81. I bet one could make a great documentary following Giibbs around. Don’t know why but he reminds me of Ignatious Reilly from A Confederacy of Dunces.

  82. I’m was watching C-SPAN this morning and people where calling in saying if Obama is the president then you should panic with Reid and Pelosi as Congressional leaders.

So a lot of investors are holding back waiting to see who will win the election. Not a lot of trust on Wall Street for Obama…and the oversea markets are in panic and scared of the risk.

I just don’t know why President Bush reach out his hand to President Clinton to instill calm and reduce panic. But the bunch we have in D.C. are weak losers who only care about their own self and not what is best for the country.

  83. Obama said he didn’t know.

Perhaps he should just issues a statement on what he DOES know, and save us all alot of freakin’ time, eh?

    Oliar.

  84. I like Palin and that’s why I’m still voting for McCain she seem to be the only one that is strong and calm with good sense and is for the people.

I like McCain and how he has put his organization together…he bring very good people around him and is not afraid to look outside his own party for good ideas.

McCain build people up…Obama will tear this country and the people down around him… I have been very dissapointed in our court system taking sides and not following the law.

I’m not happy that the DEMOCRATIC? Taliban PARTY played politics with the economy…they were warned months, let say years ago and they did nothing but protect their wallets.

  85. I like McCain and how he has put his organization together…he bring very good people around him and is not afraid to look outside his own party for good ideas.

You are right there Carby, that buying up mortage plan is Hillary’s, and he is giving her credit for it. I think that is a good sign. Stupid bambi first said, hey wait that was my idea months ago, oh no wait, that’s a bad idea. LMAO!

  86. This is nothing new about Farrakan for me…the way you combat this is to not be afraid of the difference of opinions in the Black communities.

Most Blacks do not believe Obama is the Messiah, nor do they condone it but many do believe Obama will be their only chance to gain power on an equal footing with whites in this country. Because the DEMOCRATIC? Taliban PARTY is pushing this idea out there for those whites who want to take the party hard left.

DON’T FALL FOR THE RACIST MEME, there will be no riots, maybe some dissapointed people and some crazies prolly whites more then blacks will riot but all those people coming on tv saying racism is what is motivating people is doing that only to gain power and talk the party talking points.

Palin does an excellent job throwing it back in their faces, that’s why they want to destory Palin on the national level and hope that they can destroy her in her state or weaken her badly. Palin is the threat they are most afraid of because she is the future and will weaken the Democratic dominaince in the WOMEN voters they have taken for granted.

  87. Krauthammer is a conservative elitist, aka snob, even though he is a conservative. Bambi doesn’t blow up too badly at debates, sounds intellegent, and has ivy league degrees, which is important to Krauthammer and the other Washington DC conservatives. That is why Krauthammer was so against Palin, although I think after the debate he came around a bit, but he still sees her as a commoner and a mistake on McCain’s part. I think Bambi is a bit touchy and a ticking time bomb. Telling Maureen Dowd not to comment on his ears showed he can’t laugh at himself. He doesn’t stand well under pressure, he cracks, and he is getting a lot of it here in the last few days, and it will get worse. Shaming his sound man looks really bad.

  88. NY Times: Is Obama Camp Properly Vetting All Its Donors?
    October 10, 2008 10:10 AM

The New York Times has done an analysis of Barack Obama’s donor lists. Here is an excerpt from their piece today: “An analysis of campaign finance records by The New York Times this week found nearly 3,000 donations to Mr. Obama, the Democratic nominee, from more than a dozen people with apparently fictitious donor information. The contributions represent a tiny fraction of the record $450 million Mr. Obama has raised. But the questionable donations — some donors were listed simply with gibberish for their names — raise concerns about whether the Obama campaign is adequately vetting its unprecedented flood of donors.”

  89. I like McCain and how he has put his organization together…he bring very good people around him and is not afraid to look outside his own party for good ideas.
    ———————————————
I would like him better if he was up in the polls. That organization of his needs to move the needle quickly. Independents in battleground states will decide the election.

Krauthammer has never really been on board the McCain bus…he only tolerates McCain and is a sexist too…he did not want a women period and had a hissy fit that McCain picked Palin.

If it wasn’t for the Republican base sticking with Palin those bunch of elite beltway me first people would have sold this country down the river a long time ago.

I agree..that article was crap..just another case of the ‘obot media trying to immunize Obama from his corruption.

I worry about that too. And, if he does not win then I fear for the country. You cannot give that much power to a thug like Obama, and expect anything good to come of it.

  95. washingtontimes.com/news/2008/oct/10/obama-sought-to-sway-iraqis-on-bush-deal/

At the same time the Bush administration was negotiating a still elusive agreement to keep the U.S. military in Iraq, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama tried to convince Iraqi leaders in private conversations that the president shouldn’t be allowed to enact the deal without congressional approval.

Mr. Obama’s conversations with the Iraqi leaders, confirmed to The Washington Times by his campaign aides, began just two weeks after he clinched the Democratic presidential nomination in June and stirred controversy over the appropriateness of a White House candidate’s contacts with foreign governments while the sitting president is conducting a war.

Some of the specifics of the conversations remain the subject of dispute. Iraqi leaders purported to The Times that Mr. Obama urged Baghdad to delay an agreement with Mr. Bush until next year when a new president will be in office – a charge the Democratic campaign denies.

Mr. Obama spoke June 16 to Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari when he was in Washington, according to both the Iraqi Embassy in Washington and the Obama campaign. Both said the conversation was at Mr. Zebari’s request and took place on the phone because Mr. Obama was traveling.

However, the two sides differ over what Mr. Obama said.

here is where credibility matters. obama has a proven track record of lies and evasion. The Iraqis have no apparent motive to lie about this conversation, whereas obama clearly does. He can deny this until hell freezes over. He is simply not credible and no amount of big media spin can change that. Falso in uno, falso in omnibus.

  99. It is not Palin they hate, it is that she is an outsider.

But let’s face it, McCain is an insider, so who cares about the VP.

Also, I think that the Dems orchastrated the latest bale out, and look at what has happened.

So we are going to trust them with 4 years? I see bad times coming.

McCain will bring in the Clintons.

  100. McCain Mortgage plan hitting the right spot

52% Favor McCain’s Mortgage Bailout Plan (Rasmussen Reports..)

A majority of voters (52%) favor John McCain’s plan for the federal government to buy up distressed mortgages and refinance them so homeowners can stay in their homes, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Thirty-five percent (35%) oppose the plan.

Democrats like McCain’s plan more than Republicans, even though Barack Obama opposes it. Fifty-nine percent (59%) of Democratic voters think it’s a good idea, compared to 47% of Republicans – and 49% of unaffiliated voters.

Seventy percent (70%) of African-American voters favor McCain’s plan, as do 50% of white voters.

  101. I just wish that article in the washington times would have brought up the logan act and gotten that out in the open……. i am certain most americans are unaware of the logan act. I wasn’t until this election

  102. Bail outs are seen as benefiting the CEOs. McCain’s plan gets to the people. (Can you imagine they had to be pressured to cancel their big retreat).

If Pelosi’s trys to push through another bail out, I think it is a big mistaken.

  103. You have to give McCain the benefit of a doubt. He won his Primary with very little slugging, although many thought he was out.

If you yell and scream all the time, people quit listening. I think McCain is saving it for specific reactions (which people think are justified), and people will listen.

Let us face it, as their portfolios disappear, their hearing will become better.

CNN: ACORN fraud and ties to Obama

Drew Griffin had better watch out. If he continues reporting on Barack Obama like this, pretty soon the Obama campaign will target him as an extremist and a hate-monger. Griffin tells Campbell Brown on CNN how ACORN commits voter fraud, and then explains how Obama is closely tied to the group:

CAMPBELL BROWN: Now, it is officially nonpartisan. But this group works hard to register low-income voters who tend to vote for Democrats. ACORN’s under fire over allegedly phony voter registration in several states, and Drew Griffin of CNN’s Special Investigations Unit is digging into this for us. You’ll be pretty surprised by what he found.

    snip

GRIFFIN: They are new voter registration applications turned into by the community organizing group, ACORN, which has launched a massive voter registration drive, and with 5,000 applications in this one county dumped on just before the October 6 deadline; it looked like to Elections Board Administrator Ruth Ann Hoagland like ACORN was extremely successful, until her workers began finding problems.

    GRIFFIN: A lot of them?

HOAGLAND: 50 percent. We had close to 5,000 total from ACORN, and so far we have identified about 2,100.

GRIFFIN: So roughly half of them are bad.

    HOAGLAND: Correct.

GRIFFIN: Registered to a dead person, registered as a person who lives at a fast food shop.

    HOAGLAND: Yes.

GRIFFIN: Or just all of them amazingly in the same hand.

HOAGLAND: Yes. Yes. All the signatures look exactly the same. Everything on the card filled out looks just the same.

    GRIFFIN: Ruth Ann. Fraud?

HOAGLAND: We have no idea what the motive behind it is. It’s just overwhelming to us.

GRIFFIN: It’s not that some are bad. Once they started going through them, every one they looked at was bad.

HOAGLAND: Right. We’ve run into a lot of the same – we’ll go through ten cards, and the exact — in the exact same hand, the card is filled out the same, the signature is the same. We’ll make telephone calls, and every phone has been disconnected.

GRIFFIN: Hoagland decided to stop the review all together, work on other apparently legitimate registrations and get back to the other half of what she now calls “the fake pile,” later.

  107. Moon- this is potentially important. You may not recall but I raised a question a couple days ago as to whether big media would cover the story once fox had broken it first. In this case they did. This is something cnn was well aware of all along and would have covered up in perpetuity had it not been broken by fox. That is the key.

Since their audience is overwhelmingly left wing dems it may not have great impact however. I do not think independents hang out there. Their heavily biased coverage has driven them away.

  108. Idunn

Still looks like he got the idea there, and then put his own stamp on it. I think it proves he will take the Clinton advise, where as O is wondering around in the desert asking his zombies what he should do, and looking for that last minute piece of paper.

If he were willing to use the Clintons in his administration, he would be taking their advice now big time.

McCain needs to do a generic ad showing how he is gathering economic advice in a nonpartisan manner. He does not have to mention the Clintons by name. He just needs to indicate he is consulting with experts on both sides of the aisle.

  109. Palin: Obama not telling ‘total truth’
By ANDY BARR | 10/9/08 2:28 PM EDT

    http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1008/14429.html

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin attacked Barack Obama Thursday for not being honest about his association with 1960s radical William Ayers.

“Barack Obama hasn’t told the American people the total truth about that, about his association with Ayers,” Palin said on conservative radio host Laura Ingraham’s show. “Doggonit, he fails to tell the American people with candor and with truthfulness what his associations are and we have to know.”

Palin blamed the media for not providing what she characterized as the same level of scrutiny to Obama that it has applied to her and running mate John McCain.

“I don’t see the other ticket being asked to be truthful and give details,” Palin said.

“Some in the mainstream media are saying that, well, we’re taking the gloves off unfairly. No. You know there are only, what, 26 days to go. We gotta start getting answers to these questions that are paramount here so that voters have a choice in front of them that is based on truthfulness and candor. They deserve it.”

The Alaska governor told Ingraham’s listeners that if those questions were being answered, voters would find Obama “out of the mainstream,” adding that the Illinois senator would diminish “the prestige of the United States presidency.”

“What does it say when Barack Obama says he would sit down unconditionally with Ahmadinejad, Kim Jong Il and others, unconditionally, and I guess sort of hand over some of the prestige of the United States presidency and validate, I think validate, some of the positions that these dictators have taken,” Palin said.

“Barack Obama is so far out of mainstream America. And the policies I fear that he would support, that are so far left, that are maybe today in the campaign are packaged up to look real pretty and mainstream, they are not.”

Obama accused the McCain campaign of trying to score “cheap political points” by hitting him on Ayers Wednesday during an interview with ABC.

“I’ll repeat again what I’ve said many times. This is a guy who engaged in some despicable acts 40 years ago when I was eight years old. By the time I met him, 10 or 15 years ago, he was a college professor of education at the University of Illinois,” Obama said.

“The notion that somehow he has been involved in my campaign, that he is an adviser of mine, that . . . I’ve ‘palled around with a terrorist’, all these statements are made simply to try to score cheap political points.”

    ****************************

I hope it already has been……I don’t know who the 527’s are really

I have however forwarded this to the McCain campaign

you seem to be pretty connected…..you should take this article and pass it on if you can?

  111. There is a meeting of the Republican Club tonight here in my community. I would like to know what they are going to do about: the voter registration and voting fraud, stealing the election, where and when is the knockout punch giong to come against nObama, and when are the gloves going to come off?
Is there anything else I should ask?

  112. Obama is more than just a bad guy. He knows how to use the holes in the system effectively not for good but for his own selfish and nefarious motives. Take for instance, ACORN. On the face, it is an organization promoting and fecilitating minority rights and protection, a laudable goal. But if you turn it around and make it to commit fraud, you will atleast be able to ride its credibility wave as a minority rights group and blur the difference in some people’s mind. He seems to have used every bit of advantage given to minorities for his own nefarious purpose but he can’t be called on it because then you would call into question those organizations that are doing good (supposedly.) He did the same thing in caucuses. His supporters will declare that he did those things to win. Fine, but do what after winning? We don’t get any sense what he wants to do out of his conviction or principles for the country. Do we give him the benefit of the doubt? How can we when we see all these people he has surrounded himself for decades who are thugs, terrorists, and felons. And, his own record of accomplishments in the “do good, do right” department is so thin.

I DON’T HAVE TO STAND FOR IT.

  114. Shortterm: two questions: i) first, how do they plan to convince the public that the current economic crisis came about as a result of the negligent oversight and inaction by bambi and his fellow travellers in congress? ii) second, why have they not been willing to expose bambis misfeasance as a state senator which left his patron devepers rich, Chicago taxpayers defrauded, constituents without heat and water and his campaign coffers full. If anyone thinks he is the right man to handle the current mortgage crisis, they need look no further than what he did and failed to do in Chicago to see this is a fantasy

  118. The other problem with tolerating corruption in politics is escalation. Dirty tricks that succeed in one election define the ceiling but the ceiling becomes the floor in the next election. Nothing succeeds like success. That is as good a reason as any to defeat bambi.

  119. Oct. 9 (Bloomberg) — Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama plans to spend what likely will amount to millions of dollars to air a half-hour primetime television advertisement on CBS, NBC and possibly other major networks a week before Election Day.

Obama bought the time on the CBS Corp. network and General Electric Co.’s NBC for Wednesday, Oct. 29, according to spokeswoman Linda Douglass. Obama will appear on News Corp.’s Fox that evening as long as there’s no World Series game, she said. The campaign also is in talks to buy air time on Walt Disney Co.’s ABC, said Obama spokesman Bill Burton.

“It’s a good opportunity to reach a lot of voters,” Douglass said.

The Democratic contender will appear in the TV commercial slotted for 8 p.m. six nights before the Nov. 4 election as he seeks to reach tens of millions of voters to persuade them to support him over Republican candidate John McCain. Obama, 47, who has widened his lead in recent national polls, took some media buyers by surprise with the scope of the buy.

  120. I was just talking about the significant ruling in Connetticutt regarding gay marraige.

Whatever side of the issue one is, the fight for gay rights is a very short one and deserves note. The fight for gay rights is still in it’s infancy by all measure of time. For nearly 40 years the gay and lesbian community has endured public ridicule, violence, and even death for standing up for equal rights. All we have asked is to be treated fairly by the laws, by employers, by all the media (yes the media) and by doctors to name a few.

The history of the fight goes back to Stonewall in 1969 for those that want to find out more.

Since then we have seen public opinion change because we “came out of the closet” and fought back against oppression. While our lifestyle may not be considered the classification of “main stream” our “lives” are.

When it comes to freedoms, we ask for nothing more, nothing less and nothing else than the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

    Congratulations Conneticutt.

    http://www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logan_Act

    From the Wiki:

‘The Logan Act is a United States federal law that forbids unauthorized citizens from negotiating with foreign governments.’

Suffice it to say, junior Senators who haven’t cleared their plans with sitting Presidents — and that certainly seems the case with what Obama did in Kenya in support of Odinga — are ‘unauthorized citizens.’

This information needs to be circulated as far and wide as possible. Please pass the video around, and any good articles on the subject as well.

People look at the date Obama bought airtime, Oct 29th!

This date is important to realize for one reason, to fend off the events of the days before.

Oct 24th, the unpredictable Rev Wright releases his book and the day before, Fitzpatrick must explain to the courts why the additional delays for Rezko’s sentencing!

If it was to bolster Obama to the people, he would have sought time on a night with more viewership. This is simply Obama getting ready to defend himself visa vie lies!

The Sun Times today gave a major clue that Barack Obama will indeed go down with Tony Rezko, sooner rather than later. It looks as though Rezko is about to turn on Alexi Giannoulias, the 30-year old State Treasurer of Illinois (who was elected only because Obama backed him).

Here’s where all the clues are…and then we’ll walk you through the local Chicago politics on how today’s hint by the Sun Times has us convinced, for the first time ever, that prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald could indeed send Barack Obama to jail.

We need to repeat that: we never believed, until now, that Obama would go to jail for anything related to Rezko. Today, this breaking news about what Rezko is singing to the Feds about makes us reconsider all of that.

Barack Obama will serve a prison sentence in the next few years — because knowing Fitzgerald, there is no reason he would be going through all of this if that was not the targeted goal in the long term.

Barack Obama will serve a prison sentence in the next few years — because knowing Fitzgerald, there is no reason he would be going through all of this if that was not the targeted goal in the long term.

Gay-Porn Kingpin Linked To Obama (major bundler of contributions for campaign)

ONE of the “bundlers” who has raised $50,000 to $100,000 for the Barack Obama presidential campaign is Terrence Bean, who once controlled the biggest producer of gay porn in America.

Bean, the first gay on Sen. Obama’s National Finance Committee, is the sole trustee of the Charles M. Holmes Foundation, which owned Falcon Studios, Jock Studios and Mustang Studios, the producers of about $10 million worth of all-male pornography a year.

Chuck Holmes, who founded Falcon in 1972, died of AIDS in 2000. San Francisco’s new gay and lesbian community center was named after Holmes two years later, thanks to a $1 million donation from his estate.

The naming of the building for Holmes was controversial because Falcon Studios profits from the sale of “barebacking” videos, featuring anal sex without condoms. Falcon insists that the videos were made before AIDS hit in the early 1980s and that the studio is in the forefront of promoting safe sex…

Good old Boys your time is up.You all have lost touch with the common people and have replaced it with cradle to grave campaigning to keep the goodies flowing and to “Hell” with the people that have put you there and trusted you to perform in our and the country’s interests.Well its over boys, well has run dry and WE ARE MAD!!

  133. Obama now a fan of Clinton era

The savvy Scott Helman has a smart piece in today’s Globe:

With the economy in crisis and Election Day in sight, Obama can’t say enough about the Clinton epoch – the job growth, the budget surpluses, the broad prosperity – and often lauds the former president’s economic stewardship as a model.

“We need to do what we did in the 1990s and create millions of new jobs and not lose them,” he told 6,000 people in Abington, outside Philadelphia, last week. “We need to do what we did in the 1990s and make sure people’s incomes are going up and not down. We need to do what a guy named Bill Clinton did in the 1990s and put people first again.”

    The crowd roared.

Obama’s characterization of Clinton’s presidency is markedly different than the one he offered during the Democratic primaries, when he was running against Clinton’s wife, Senator Hillary Clinton.

Obama argued that, despite the successes, Bill Clinton let some of the country’s biggest problems fester while in the White House. The implication – that his two terms had not been indisputably positive for American families – was one the former president deeply resented.

It was always an awkward argument to make, but one Obama felt he had to: After all, Hillary Clinton was running in part to revive her husband’s economic legacy, which many Democrats recall fondly. Obama’s fully embracing the 1990s would have been tantamount to embracing his opponent.

Now, Obama is offering a Clinton restoration to create a foil for what he calls the failed economic philosophies of President Bush and Obama’s presidential rival, John McCain. “America can’t take four more years of John McCain’s George Bush policies,” he said yesterday in Dayton, Ohio.

  134. ABM90, I concur and as I have ended pretty much every email and post since last centry [feels like it] with –

Now an registered Independent voter in FL – I will not forget the ones who voted me half a person

Further, it disgusts me with those who disingenuously voted for Hillary in the primary – now just look what a mess we are in and those votes contributed to it. I think I will find me a sticker that says, “Don’t blame me, I voted for Hillary” if McCain and that other really smart woman have this election stolen from them.

  135. I just emailed hillpac and hillaryclinton.com the following:

A Clinton restoration without the Clintons, anyone who buys that one is a FOOL.[thanks wobbei for the saying]

This is not what Bill and Hillary had to face in the 90s now so the pallell is far from apt. I know using clinton friend rubin but that is where it ends. 138. The liviliest intellects of our time have reduced the electorate to nothing more than an economic animal that will respond to a whats in it for me bell much like Pavlovs dog.

As such, they have a hard time realizing that many people will acutually discount personal self interest to one degree or another, reject party label and do try to do what they think is best for the country. Often it is a gut level assessment.

These people realize everyone including them is better off living in a society where all boats rise with the tide, as opposed to one where the few benefit at the expense of the many. And that realization may take them beyond the realm of enlightened self interest narrowly construed.

I would be far better off in my line of work under a bambi regime because there would be more union organizing and although I represent the employer that mean more business for me.

But I cannot vote for Bambi regardless of the personal benefit it could confer because I know in my bones that he would be bad–very, very bad for the country. It is a matter of character and I could never support someone who is devoid of one, as Bambi most certainly is.

  142. Palin answers several questions from reporters
By BETH FOUHY – 2 days ago

GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) — After weeks of limited contact with the news media, Republican vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin ventured to the back of her campaign plane Tuesday and answered several questions from reporters.

The Alaska governor discussed why she and the McCain campaign have made an issue of Democrat Barack Obama’s relationship with 1960s-era radical Bill Ayers amid a market meltdown that has many voters fearing for their investments. Palin repeatedly has claimed during the past two days that Obama had launched his political career with help from Ayers, a founder of the violent Weather Underground group responsible for bombings during the Vietnam War era.

Obama campaign aides said the Illinois senator did not know of Ayers’ past when they first met in Chicago. Palin told reporters the lack of clarity about their relationship was precisely why it was relevant to raise it on the campaign trail.

“It’s relevant to connect that association he has with Ayers, not so much he as a person Ayers, but the whole situation and the truthfulness and the judgment there that you must question if again he’s not being forthright in all of his answers, “Palin said. “It makes you wonder about the forthrightness, the truthfulness of the plans he’s telling Americans with regards to the economic recovery.”

Pressed on whether she was saying Obama was dishonest, Palin said no.

“But in terms of judgment, in terms of being able to answer a question forthrightly, it has two different parts to it, that judgment and that truthfulness,” she said.

Palin said also claimed her husband, Todd, is “an open book” on the controversy back home involving allegations that the couple pressured state officials to fire the governor’s former brother-in-law, a state trooper.

“Nobody has anything to hide,” she said.

Both Palin and her husband had refused to be interviewed in the state Legislature’s probe, and Palin said the inquiry “has been kind of a goat rope, very partisan and very controversial type of investigation.”

Palin reiterated her disappointment that John McCain’s campaign had pulled out of Michigan, saying she had hoped to share the GOP ticket’s economic message with blue-collar voters there. And she said she’d love to appear on “Saturday Night Live” with Tina Fey, who’s made famous a hilarious caricature of Palin.

“I love her, she’s a hoot and she’s so talented. It would be fun to meet her, imitate her, and keep on giving her new material,” Palin said of Fey.

Reflecting on the campaign in which she was transformed from relative obscurity into a visible national figure, Palin said she’d been “energized” by the experience and had high hopes for victory in the Nov. 4 election.

“We’re at the halfway point and there is a lot that can happen and will happen in this campaign still to go,” Palin said. “I’ve been in an underdog position quite often in my life and so has John McCain and we’ve both come out victoriously from that underdog position.”

The meeting included Mahdi Bray, a supporter of Hezbollah and Hamas. “In a 2004 interview, he called the Israeli assassination of a Hamas spiritual leader an ‘unlawful, cowardly and dangerous act of state-sponsored terrorism.'”

Nihad Awad of the Council on American-Islamic Relations attended.

    Likewise,

Chicago-based lawyer Mazen Asbahi also attended the meeting. He is the Obama campaign’s former Muslim outreach coordinator, who abruptly resigned in August after the Wall Street Journal and websites that track fundamentalist Islam began questioning Asbahi’s involvement in an Islamic investment fund and various Islamic groups.

And here we were worried about Obama’s ACORN ties.

Dishonest? Perhaps she should have said that is a question each person must decide for themselves after they have reviewed his entire record.

That is the last interview the McCain campaign should give to Fouhery. She is a corrupt journalist for the reasons mentioned before. He also said that he don’t think that Obama would do much either. (Paraphrase).

It still surprises that they overlook how dangerous Obama is and feel that he is still a “little better” than McCain. Go figure!

  173. GETTING TOUGH WITH SENATOR OBAMA

We know many Democrats are in a quandary this year about who they want to see elected President. Though many Democrats are not. In that category are the Democrats supporting Obama and those who are not and will not. We are in the category of those who are not and will not. Not only do we think he is completely unqualified to be President and has demonstrated only the worst of all possible traits for a politician — deceit, dishonesty, untrustworthiness, incompetence, lack of character or any moral center, he is also the product of a corrupt and dishonest primary process conducted by the Democratic National Committee in collusion with the Obama campaign which included a rigged roll call vote in violation of all of the Democratic Party’s official rules and procedures.

We believe what is necessary is to oppose Senator Obama and his candidacy in our ads as forcefully as possible and that is our intention. First because we think he is completely unqualified both from the perspective of character and the perspective o any ability to do this job. We also believe that his defeat will be the beginning of a returning of the Democratic Party from those responsible for the corruption we saw this year, people like Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi and Donna Brazile and the Obama wing of the party, to those who will respect those principles and traditions as well as simple democracy. That is the way to win the Presidency not by rigging a roll call vote and not with a candidate who has reneged on every pledge and promise he has made, has lied consistently and continues to be a weak, dishonest, unqualified and untrustworthy candidate.

For those who agree with our stance as being what is best for both the country and the Democratic Party we urge you to contribute to that effort. To those Democrats who are still ambivalent about what to do, we respect that position as well. But we will continue to act on and represent those who believe as we do, that what is best for the country and best for the Democratic Party is the defeat of what is probably the worst and most unqualified Democratic candidate for President we have ever seen.

Posted by Marc Rubin (Denver Group)

  174. dick morris today-

Barack Obama was clearly splitting hairs and concealing the truth when he said that William Ayers was “just a guy who lives in my neighborhood.”

The Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC) administration records released last week by the University of Illinois, show that the Ayers-Obama connection was, in fact, an intimate collaboration and that it led to the only executive or administrative experience in Obama’s life.

After Walter Annenberg’s foundation offered several hundred million dollars to American public schools in the mid-’90s, William Ayers applied for $50 million for Chicago.

The purpose of his application was to secure funds to “raise political consciousness” in Chicago’s public schools. After he won the grant, Ayers’s group chose Barack Obama to distribute the money.

Between 1995 and 1999, Obama distributed the $50 million and raised another $60 million from other civic groups to augment it. In doing so, he was following Ayers’ admonition to grant the funds to “external” organizations, like American Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) to pair with schools and conduct programs to radicalize the students and politicize them.

Reading, math, and science achievement tests counted for little in the CAC grants, but the school’s success in preaching a radical political agenda determined how much money they got.

Barack Obama should have run screaming at the sight of William Ayers and his wife, Bernadette Dohrn. Ayers has admitted bombing the U.S. Capitol building and the Pentagon, and his wife was sent to prison for failing to cooperate in solving the robbery of a Brink’s armored car in which two police officers were killed. Far from remorse, Ayers told The New York Times in September 2001 that he “wished he could have done more.”

Ayers only avoided conviction when the evidence against him turned out to be contained in illegally obtained wiretaps by the FBI. He was, in fact, guilty as sin.

That Obama should ally himself with Ayers is almost beyond understanding. The former terrorist had not repented of his views and the education grants he got were expressly designed to further them.

So let’s sum up Obama’s Chicago connections. His chief financial supporter was Tony Rezko, now on his way to federal prison. His spiritual adviser and mentor was the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, of “God damn America” fame. And the guy who got him his only administrative job and put him in charge of doling out $50 million is William Ayers, a terrorist who was a domestic Osama bin Laden in his youth.

Even apart from the details of the Obama/Ayers connection, two key points emerge: a) Obama lied and misled the American people in his description of his relationship with Ayers as casual and arm’s-length; and b) Obama was consciously guided by Ayers’s radical philosophy, rooted in the teachings of leftist Saul Alinksy, in his distribution of CAC grant funds.

Since Obama is asking us to let him direct education spending by the federal government and wants us to trust his veracity, these are difficulties he will have to explain in order to get the votes to win.

Now that Obama is comfortably ahead in the polls, attention will understandably shift to him. We will want to know what kind of president he would make. The fact that, within the past 10 years, he participated in a radical program of political education conceptualized by an admitted radical terrorist offers no reassurance.

Why did Obama put up with Ayers? Because he got a big job and $50 million of patronage to distribute to his friends and supporters in Chicago. Why did he hang out with Jeremiah Wright? Because he was new in town, having grown up in Hawaii and Indonesia and having been educated at Columbia and Harvard, and needed all the local introductions he could get to jump-start his political career.

Why was he so close to Rezko? Because he funded Obama’s campaigns and helped him buy a house for $300,000 less than he otherwise would have had to pay.

Not a good recommendation for a president.

  181. Bluegirl see one of my my earlier posts from today, CNN actually had a unbiased piece on the Acorn voter fraud, i nearly collapsed with the shock.

  182. Moon,

Thanks, I haven’t read all the posts today yet. Well I have to say I’m shocked also that CNN actually said something about the voter fraud. Maybe there’s hope for them yet, but I won’t be holding my breath, lol.

  183. Apparently JM had a press conference today and brought up the Bernadette Dorhn & M.Obama 20 year connection

resulting in the daily kooks going bat shit crazy over there today! LMAO!! 😀

    GO JOHNNY GO!!……..JOHNNY BE GOOD!!

apparently those snot sniveling BOTBRATS are all sitting in mommy and daddy’s basements totally not getting why its relevant
the the BHO/AYERS connection and the “lies” er i mean…obama campaign spin………

    NOTE TO OBAMABOTS

IT’S THE LENGTH OF TIME THEY HAVE BEEN CONNECTED THAT IS IMPORTANT……IT PROVES THAT AYERS/DORHN ARE NOT JUST SOMEONE “CRAZY TERRORIST” WHO LIVES IN HIS NEIGHBORHOOD THAT HE BARELY KNEW……STUPID!!….DUH!!!

one more thing…….all’s fair in politics! quit your whining!!…… Grow up and take out your mothers trash!! oh and get a job!

  184. LOL…the way things are going, Obama is going to need 24 hours on network television to cover his tracks. 😉

  185. dijia,

i just went to DK to see what you’re talking about.
    OMG!
They’re worried about violence from US?????

    Here’s gergan:
CNN contributor David Gergen said that the negative tone of these rallies are “incendiary” and could lead to violence.

“There is this free floating sort of whipping around anger that could really lead to some violence. I think we’re not far from that,” he told CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Thursday. “I really worry when we get people — when you get the kind of rhetoric that you’re getting at these rallies now. I think it’s really imperative that the candidates try to calm people down.”

  186. SAY IT AIN’T SO GERGEN!!

WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU??? and the rest of your media cohorts when there were threats of riots if obama was denied the nominated?? where were you all when people were being threatened if they didn’t support “that one”???

GERGEN YOU AND YOUR ILK ARE NOTHING MORE THAN BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA’S SHILLS and are IRRELEVANT!!

  187. “The Democratic presidential nominee, famous for his unscripted oratory,”

Unscripted oratory????? Are you (AP) shitting me???? The only unscripted oratory that I hear from “O” is uuuhhhhh..ummmmm..uhhhhh..duhhhhhh. Whatever the corporate media game is, you can bet it is in their self interest and not the countries.

  188. From HillBuzz (which has been in pretty constant communication with the McCain campaign):

“We firmly believe in McCain’s victory and do not believe it hinges on any developments with RICO. The polls, in our opinon, are wrong, and the internal numbers we see coming out of NC, VA, PA, OH, IN and FL show McCain wins in all of those states (there is no mathematical possibility for Obama to win without taking PA, OH, or FL). We believe after McCain’s win there will be a continued prosecution of Obama and members of the Democratic party for voter fraud under RICO statutes in the months and years ahead.”

    hillbuzz.wordpress.com/2008/10/10/clinton-supporters-sharing-evidence-for-rico-case-against-obama-campaign/

    *********************

Internal polling has McCain ahead in PA! WOOT! Perhaps this is why McCain seems so calm and didn’t drop the Ayers bomb in the last debate…

  189. HillGuy……….thanks for that info!!!

    wooooo hoooooooo!

but then i haven’t believed any poll that had stinky up since super tuesday 😀

  190. What has been happening to our election process is far worse than an election in a third world dictatorship. The travelling sales Hustler has destroyed any hopes that we might have to regain our standing in the world of nations. The Hustler is awash with money from our enemies and our cash cows that supply us with money to stay in debt to the Arab nations that supply us with and can shut down the pipeline any time they choose to.How in the world can we recover from the financial disaster that has just been thrown at us.The sad truth is that the Hustler is deeply involved in this scheme to buy power and become the worlds newest Dictator.Oh what fools we mortals be to allow this disaster to grow and fund it with no questions asked while a large segment of our population is engrossed in sports, soaps, game shows, mind numbing movies and reading the trash books magazines, flooding the daily news for mind control and evil schemes by the MSM.Sleep on America and let someone else handle it.The Hustler has you all afraid of that big race card that he waves and warns you that you better see things his way or suffer the wrath of being homeless on the Highway.

” AND TO THINK WE COULD HAVE HAD HILLARY”

    BY ABM90

  191. HillBuzz has been saying for the past couple months that McCain will take PA in GE. The demographics do NOT favor Obama: white, blue collar voters; the second highest population of older voters in the country; strong NRA membership throughout the state, etc. Philly will not be enough to carry the state for Gutter Ball, they say. Remember, BO spent more money on the PA primary than any candidate in the history of our nation — and lost by 10 points! Also, the Philly suburbs were supposed to come out in droves for Obama during the primary and Hillary ended up tying him there.

Oh, and PA has never elected an AA to statewide office.

    Ever.

  192. Just got an email from lynn@together4us.com. This is a Hillary site. She is endorsing McCain, and says that she can no longer maintain the site since she is endorsing him. She wants someone to take it over.

Has anyone else gotten this email?

  193. Rasmussen’s daily tracking has McCain within 5 pts of Gutter Ball for the second day in a row. This is striking distance. Carville much?? Remember his threat from the other day.

    McCain will win.

    Hillary 2012

  194. Election night is going to be soo intense. The state results that will be coming in at about the same time are: FL, VA, NC and PA.

  195. Dijia,

i am FURIOUS! Dobbs just did a story about anger at a JM rally and showed clips of JM appealing for calm, sayng he ‘respects’ That one and everyone shold be respectful of ‘that one’, thatone is a wonderful american, a fine politician, he admires him and blahblhblahblahblah, he disagrees with BO’s positions and when the crowd booed he insists on respect for BO.
    WTF is going on??????
Look at how HRC was treated!!!!!! Look how BO egged his supporters on and never said a word in her defense and now Jm is being forced to calm his crowds???? I am so mad, dijia – i am just so motherf**ing MAD!!!! And just like HRC, Jm is caving. I’m enraged, beyond enraged . . . .

  196. Gergen is a pig. None of these assholes were worried about “inciting” any rage when Obamabots were running around calling Hillary c*nt and wh*ore, and his own damn WEBSITE had sexually violent posts about killing her and stuffing her in a trunk.

  197. Keep your eyes on the prize, here folks. Now that McCain has reprimanded “them”, the One and his minions can’t say he’s encouraging it. It’s a good thing, imo.

  198. Basil

I knowJohn McCain has been raised a Military man who has learned to live “Strategically” don’t get mad……..BELIEVE!
John McCain is a maverick…….he is a POW……He is a PATRIOT….he’s no wimp, he will not cave and go down without a fight
to do so would mean “dishonor” to him and his family name ( to a man like john mc cain, he would rather go to the hanoi hilton again that let that happen)

Believe that the McCain/Palin Camp has a battle plan……..and are smart enough “not to talk about it before they are ready to implement it” it will be a “october surprise”

  199. h4t,

And none of thei God d@mn pigs said a word about the trashing of HRC and are now inciting violence by their attack of Palin. Why don’t they look in the f**king mirror! What they’re doing to Palin is ok but the sky will fall if anyone dares say they hate BO, his socialist ties, his lies, his hoodwingking and bamboozling of the country……

  200. Blue Gargoyle: Barack Obama helped secure a $25,000 grant for Blue Gargoyle in August 2000, an organization that was headed by Capers C. Funnye, Jr., Michelle Obama’s first cousin once removed.
Community of St. Sabina: Obama helped secure a $100,000 grant for the Community of St. Sabina in July 2000, a church headed by Father Michael Pfleger, a controversial and radical Catholic priest and Obama campaign contributor. Pfleger made news in March 2008, for mocking then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton from the pulpit of Trinity United Church of Christ, formerly run by Obama’s personal pastor the Reverend Jeremiah Wright.
FORUM: Run by Yesse Yehudah, Barack Obama gave a $75,000 grant to the organization in 2000. Although Yehudah ran against Obama in a 1998 election, five people from FORUM donated $1000 to Obama’s campaign after receiving the grant. FORUM also contributed another $5,000 to help pay Obama’s debt after he failed to be elected to congress in 2000. In 2002, Illinois sued Yehudah for failure to account for hundreds of thousands of dollars he received from Obama’s grant.

  202. Hey, gergle,

i’d like to personally introduce you to some of that “free floating sort of whipping around anger that could really lead to some violence” you whine about.

    😡

  203. Heh…I hear ya, though, Basil. Believe me, I’ve been over the top pissed so many times during this election that I’m surprised I have any piss left.

Just trying to talk ya down. 🙂

  204. Yesterday the pundits were after McCain for not protesting the anti-obama comments…i.e…he’s a terrorist…

I think what he is did today is show that he is a leader and the bigger man here.

You didn’t see Obama telling his cult to stop booing when Hillary’s name was mentioned. You won’t hear him stopping anyone from badmouthing Palin or McCain either. He would rather incite the rabble than promote fair play.

  205. thats for all the warm wishes everyone

and just to show you how grateful I am I’m taking your suggestion and running for POTUS in 2012. (only if BHO wins)

Otherwise I hope to be helping the folks out here for along time.

I’m getting transfered to Vegas after the holidays…there goes my paycheck hahaha

Actually my job will be helping the homeowners that could lose their homes due to their ARM’s

  206. NMF

    Yes, I did.

For those who have not rec’d. here tis a copy:

After Senator Clinton suspended her campaign on June 5th I started together4Us, with help from so many of you, to give Hillary’s eighteen million voters a platform to express their hopes and desires for her, for us, and for the Democratic Party. Through the last several months there have been as many positions as there have been emotions. We are now in the last weeks of the most important election since the end of World War II and I have decided to enthusiastically endorse John McCain for President.

I believe that we simply cannot afford to have a President who lacks experience; someone who has never crossed party lines in any meaningful ways. In the face of economic turmoil and an increasingly dangerous world, we need someone who is ready to lead, and who has a lifetime of service and judgments we can trust.

John McCain has a long and distinguished record of crossing the aisle and partnering with Democratic colleagues in Congress. Senator McCain’s bipartisan initiatives include immigration reform, global warming legislation, the patients’ bill of rights, and penalties on corporate fraud. Facing significant opposition from his own party, Senator McCain worked with Ted Kennedy in tackling immigration reform and worked with Russ Feingold to take on undue influence in campaign finance. He has partnered with Senator Clinton on legislative issues such as combating child pornography, researching climate change, and requiring background checks for gun purchases. Senator McCain has gained unparalleled praise from his Democratic colleagues. John McCain has often been on our side. He will continue to work with Democrats when he is President.

I know many of you have made different choices, and I respect all of them. If any of you agree with my decision on John McCain, I ask you to please visit John McCain Citizens and help John McCain. Through this site, you can help reach out to other Democrats and solicit them for the McCain/Palin ticket.

It is not appropriate that I control together4Us, a site dedicated to Hillary Clinton, while I am working with the McCain campaign. So I am suspending the site for now. But, I am hoping that someone will emerge to make together4Us a place to engage all of Hillary’s supporters in the future. If you have ideas about a useful role for this site to play, please email me at lynn@together4us.com with your thoughts.

    God Bless, Much Love,

He cannot say that, its either true or not.

She broke no law, and was within her right to dismiss him. Its bizarre conclusions.

  212. Think about it

They don’t want to ‘politicize the Rezo hearing or the berg lawsuit so they are waiting till after the election. They could not get SP.s suit out fast enough. i hope this bites them in the ASS. I hate the Fuckers…

  213. moon,

I realize the contradiction. I’m just wondering if the first one can be wiped out by appeal…it is so ridiculous.

  214. As far as her abusing her power in troopergate, I betcha there was some money paid by the dems to get that to happen!!

  215. CNN contributor David Gergen said that the negative tone of these rallies are “incendiary” and could lead to violence.
    ——————————————–
Gergen is more concerned about the press secretary job which bambi has promised to him and Linda Douglass separately. When both of them find out violence is a distinct possiblility.

Lets face it: this clown is a shadow of his former self–and a nickel bag gigalo. He and the rest of big media have staked their future on bambi, and if it does not happen they will be SOL. It is no more complicated than that. They are not interested in the welfare of the country–they cannot see past their own self interest.

  216. His findings should have gone no further than “she had a right to sack him”

In effect, he went beyond his course of investigation.

    This was politically motivated.

Anyway, the gag on the cae is lifted, she needs to do a full interview on it immediately and explain

A : She had a right to sack him
B : She broke no law
C : She did not abuse her power because she had a right to sack him.
D : She wanted the trooper removed because of his behaviour that fellow troopers would not investigate and explain fully the troopers behaviour.

  217. As far as her abusing her power in troopergate, I betcha there was some money paid by the dems to get that to happen!!

Right on confloyd. you can mark that one to market for sure. If they are willing to send scores of investgators up to anchorage to plow through trash cans then it is reasonable to assume that money in some form crossed palms.

  218. Oh, that Dick Morris.. Give the devil its due. paraphrasing the devil.. two conflicting forces at work in this election, the electorate wants to punish the Republican party (by not voting for its candidate) but it is highly untrusting of the Democratic candidate and does not want to vote for him either — the party meant to win easily has nominated a losing candidate and the party damned to lose has nominated the only candidate that could win..

  219. moon it is a non sequitur. If she had just cause to fire him then how could it be an abuse of power for her to do so? Oh sure you could split hairs and say the methods were problematic but that is just crap. It aint legal its political. Shame on the dims for that.

  220. I’ve read through th whole thing.

He found that she had other reasons to fire him.

He found that she didn’t need a reason to fire him.

He found that she legally fired him.

There is no evidence that SP ever told Monegon to fire Wooten.

    Wooten wasn’t fired.

Monogon didn’t even have the power to fire Wooten, and Palin knew it. Wooten was a union employee.

It’s all BS, but you have to read 240 pages to figure it out.

  221. Two things come immediately to mind. First the report includes as evidence of her violation of Alaska ethics law actions she took before she was governor. Secondly the report never does state just how she benefited or her family benefited from her actions or how her actions were actually detrimental to Wooten. Calling up and requesting status reports and saying why you think someone is unfit to serve is sure as hell not the same as trying to illegally or unethically influence a course of action. No one said that they made a finding because they feared retribution by Palin or because they had been promised compensation for doing so. So where the hell is this so called violation?

Also what the heck does a divorce judge’s snarky remark about Palin’s sister’s earning capacity and Wooten’s possible job loss have to do with anything at all. That should be stricken from the record as irrelevant. I mean is Branchflower claiming this is proof that Palin was using her office to get Wooten fired?

The whole thing is major BS and I hope Palin strongly rebukes the findings.

Ergo, McCains end game must be to prove that he is not bush. Hillary has figured that out as well which is why she is trying to tie jm to bush. Be careful what you wish for gal. Bambi is a clear and present danger to our nation.

  224. THIS is why i went ballistic before!!!

    from DK:

NBELIEVABLE! McCain is forced to defend Obama (6+ / 1-)

An old woman in his town hall meeting said, “I won’t vote for Obama because I’m afraid, he’s Arab”

Hahahah. And McCain had to defend him

Excellent! McCain is now forced to “campaign” against his own campaign and is now campaigning for Obama

    Hahah! How ironic!

  225. BO has aired 25,000 ads n the past 4 days. He has more money than JM had for the entire GE.

    adage.com/campaigntrail/post?article_id=131653
    ——————————————
and still he does not connect. Bambi is senior partner in a law firm called BRIBEUM, CHEATEM, DISENFRANCISEM AND HOWE.

  226. And THIS!
He denied Obama was an Arab and said he was a decent citizen and a family man. In response to another audience member’s suggestion that he was afraid to raise his newborn child in America under Obama’s presidency because he’s a terrorist, McCain again denied that and said Obama was a decent family man and not someone to be distrustful of as a president.

SO, there goes the only remaining tactic his campaign had, if you can call it that.

Republican strategists who never liked McCain anyway are now going to eat him alive. They wanted him to take the gloves off with Obama, and he did, and now he says you can trust Obama as president. What could the man be thinking? What is his strategy?

  227. Basil: what this smug little bot fails to realize is that mccain is a man of honor and bambi is not. If that bot had the common sense god gave a jackass he would realize that.

    i mean . . wtf??????

First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them. They even shoved a fork into the victim’s stomach! Dick MORRIS said all this? WHY?

  240. just my thoughts… but how disingenuous McCain is about defending the honor of BHO and when Hillary was called a b?tch he laughed…I will forgive this ONCE
this doesn’t sit well with me but BHO still will not get my vote

  241. Dick MORRIS said all this? WHY?
    ——————————————-
hi turndown: do you mean to tell me you dont believe his putative justification, namely that because bambi has emerged as the clear frontrunner the press should begin to evaluate his potential to be a future president? You mean you wont buy his swampland in Florida sight unseen? Well, I dont blame you.

Let us hope this is only the beginning of an examination of bambi long overdue. If it were anybody but Morris I would accept that as a plausable reason. I might even suspect that it was the only the beginning. But the truth is I do not know.

Did you happen to see that after 15 months of stony sleep NBC did an investigative speech on ACORN and bambis ties to it. They knew others would come out with it and figured if they did it at a time when everyone is focused on financial news it would make no noise and they could claim they were fair and balanced as well.

  242. McCain had to say something to defend Obama when one of the audience members called him an Arab. If he let that stand, McCain’s message of bad judgment and lack of candor would be hijacked by some conspiracy prone stuff and media would have jumped all over it.

    ================

Haven’t seen the tape or a transcript, and the bad guys may clp it out of context, but it doesn’t sound like a contradiction of the serious charges McCain has made against Obama’s judgement etc. What did the woman think Obama was going to do, kidnap all newborn children and forceably non-circumsize them or something?

  245. Is it me, i am just not getting what is going on with this election. Is McCain waiting until this last debate is over with to take off the gloves?

I hope he realizes that voting has already started. THere maybe more people voting absentee than ever before. He has to get to these people before they mail in their ballots.

  246. I’m not even watching the news any more…it is just pathetic. I will tune into Greta or Hannity & Combs or the Cavuto sometime but I’am not interested in this shame on Democratic principles.

They want to destroy Palin but it won’t help their cause very much…the smell of this election is turning into rot.

  247. Hillguy,

I just read your post about PA. I’m from PA and I too don’t think Obama will win here, at least I hope not.

I was a bit worried about the Philly area, but didn’t know if that could make a difference in the outcome or not. I hope not.

I was so happy that Hillary made it here in the Primary.

just my thoughts… but how disingenuous McCain is about defending the honor of BHO and when Hillary was called a b?tch he laughed…I will forgive this ONCE
this doesn’t sit well with me but BHO still will not get my vote
    ==============

I don’t think we should judge candidates by little accidental things taken out of context. It’s been done to Hillary too: her ‘tears’, her remark about RFK’s assassination….

  249. pm317, I agree with you, I am appalled that McCain stood up and said that Obama was not an Arab, for one thing he is. I distinctly remember when at the beginning of the season, one of his female supporters at a town hall meeting asked MCCain ” how do we beat the bitch?”. He just laughed, that one thing pist me off for a long time about McCain. I still don’t like voting republican, but he is only getting my vote as a protest against AcornObama. I do like Palin, she’s got the right stuff! I don’t know if I can ever really like McCain after that one he let go by.

  250. bluegirl, I can’t wait for the returns from PA to starting coming in on election night. Imagine the schizo-reactions on Daily Kooks when Fox News delcares: “We can now make an astounding projection: Senator McCain has won the state of PA. This on the heels of an already gigantic evening for the veteran senator and war hero, who has also claimed FL, NC and VA in the past half hour.”

  251. turndown and confloyd, just remember the following statements from BO when you get upset at McCain laughing at that stupid South Carolinian woman:

    “You’re likable enough, Hillary.”

“Sometimes, when she gets down, the claws come out and Senator Clinton feels the need to engage in these kinds of attacks.”

“I think the reason republicans are obsessed with you Hillary, is because that’s a battle their comfortable having.”

    Hate him. Scum.

  252. Confloyd, I was actually agreeing with what McCain did in refuting his audience about calling Obama an Arab or a terrorist. Those are over the top characterization that would have distorted his message of bad judgment and lack of candor if he had not said anything to set the audience straight. {on Hillary, I completely agree he should not have let that audience comment stand. Unfortunately calling someone a bitch and other sexist comments are forgiven/ignored easily. }

  253. Does anyone remember the Republican Primary debates?? Remember how McCain would totally laugh in the face of EVERYTHING Romney said, basically insinuating that the guy was a joke? Remember how he would say things like “Well, it’s hard to know where you stand on that issue, Governor, because you change your positions so often, we can hardly keep up..”

It was SO effective. McCain used the debate platform as a FREE advertisement for himself, elevating his struggling, dead broke campaign to the nomination.

I wish he would get back into that taunting, testy, sniveling debate mode. It would be effective. And Gutter Ball already behaves that way in debates.

  254. confloyd,

I just saw this on pumapac.

n response to whether McCain called his wife Cindy a cunt … (ugh, I hate that word).

There’s no REAL credible evidence to support this story. After doing some research, this is what I found out and I would suggest saving this and sending it to any Obots that continue to spread the rumor …..

    • 1. This is an Internet rumor of an alleged 1992 episode in which John McCain used the word in an exchange with his wife. The rumor appears to have started with a passage from a book, The Real McCain, by Cliff Schecter who sets out to portray an angry man who is unfit to serve as President of the United States. Schecter is a blogger at the far left wing site, the Huffington Post. The passage quotes anonymous sources in a hearsay portrayal of something that happened 16 years ago.
    Here’s the passage from Schecter’s book –
At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain’s hair and said, “You’re getting a little thin up there.” McCain’s face reddened, and he responded, “At least I don’t plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt.” McCain’s excuse was that it had been a long day.

    • 2. There is NO mention of this occurrence in any national news outlets, even though, according to Schecter the three anonymous sources were reporters.

    • 3. The quote itself seems so preposterous; it is reminiscent of the Edward Klein creation regarding Hillary Clinton, in which he reported that Bill Clinton said he’d “raped” his wife.

    • 4. The Liberal MSM have made it a point to disavow smears against Barack Obama yet the liberal press clearly have a double standard when it comes to smearing a conservative.

So, in summary, these are the facts –

    1. This is a rumor that is being spread by left wing blogs,

    2. There are NO actual quotes or video to support this claim,

    3. The only so called support we have for this story is from a far left wing blogger from Huffington Post wrote a book to smear McCain and his “three anonymous sources” made this bogus claim.

This what the far left loons call Journalism.

Then several months ago, at a Townhall meeting filled with older people, some HuffPo bottom feeder asked McCain, “is it true that you called your wife a cunt?”

McCain’s response (clearly taken aback with such a rude question), “You know it’s a great thing about townhall meetings, um, er, there’s people here that don’t respect that kind of language, so I’ll move on to the next question.”

McCain handled that moron with class. So because he refused to engage in a question that was meant to bait him, the far left ‘logic’ is that it means that the story is true.

    Pure smear. Period.

  255. hillguy,

For the record, I don’t get upset about any little stuff like that, that’s probably just made up or nothing … remember ‘invented the internet’?

  256. moononpluto, where are you? I have a question and I know you would have a great answer: Any ideas why a republican polling outfit like Rasmussen would be oversampling Dems in their polls? One would think Scotty Rasmussen would be seeking to inflate his Repub numbers. He is, after all, the polling fixture on Fox News…

  257. Totally not important, but has anyone noticed how gray BO’s hair is getting?? Fraudulently registering ineligible/dead voters sure can be stressful.

  258. Zogby says, “When push comes to shove this will be a landslide. You have a big middle in this election, and a big middle that is unhappy. That middle is going to tilt this election one way or another.” Zogby says Obama’s 4 point lead is crucial. Both former Democratic candidates John Kerry and Al Gore sharing the same number in previous elections and both lost. But can Obama keep on pace? Dick Lockwood, an Obama supporter, says “They all said it was Hillary’s to lose and she lost it. Now I’m afraid to say it’s Obama’s to lose but it is.”

  259. What CBS did a serious news piece on ACORN

    They were pressuriesed to fraud.

    http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/10/10/cbsnews_investigates/main4514429.shtml

CBS) This week Sen. John McCain and his running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin, went after one of the nation’s leading voter registration groups which focuses its efforts minorities and low-income families and now being investigated for voter fraud.

Known as ACORN, it runs one of the largest community voter registration drives in the nation, signing up more than 1.3 million mostly minority and low-income people this year alone. But now top Republicans are calling for a “full scale” investigation of their operation, and McCain is calling them out, CBS News chief investigative correspondent Armen Keteyian reports.

“There are serious allegations of voter fraud,” McCain said this week.

Joseph Borges, the registrar of voters in Bridgeport, Conn., says his office has been overwhelmed by bogus forms filled out with thousands of fake and duplicate names – two boxes alone packed with non-existent addresses. All submitted by ACORN.

“There’s something wrong with the process, to have this happen for a registration drive,” said Borges.

Since June, election officials in at least a dozen states have raised red flags over more than 10,000 voter registration forms filed by ACORN. For example, in one Ohio county ACORN registered the same person 17 times.

And earlier this week law enforcement agents raided ACORN’s office in Las Vegas, carting away files and computers.

“It was purely politically motivated,” said Bertha Lewis, a chief organizer for ACORN. “The right wing and specifically the Republicans.”

Lewis is the chief organizer for ACORN. She claims only a tiny fraction of their new registrations have problems. Problems, critics charge, related to the pressure ACORN reportedly puts on its workers to up their numbers — at any cost.

“Do you have quotas that people have to fill every day?” Keteyian asked Lewis.

“No,” she said. “We pay people by the hour. And also, we train folks on a daily basis.”

But CBS News has talked to nearly two dozen ACORN workers who all said they were pressured to increase their number of registration cards – to the point of copying names out of phone books, signing up inmates, and registering the dead.

“They just have to maintain 25 cards a day,” Borges said. “That’s a quota, as far as I’m concerned.”

Whether simple error or outright fraud, the charges surrounding ACORN are already raising doubts about the integrity of the upcoming election in key parts of the country.

  260. moononpluto, where are you? I have a question and I know you would have a great answer: Any ideas why a republican polling outfit like Rasmussen would be oversampling Dems in their polls? One would think Scotty Rasmussen would be seeking to inflate his Repub numbers. He is, after all, the polling fixture on Fox News…

    —————————————–

Money talks, who’s paying for the polls and perhaps he is playing rope a dope, who knows, maybe he’ll pull the rug out from under them in 2 weeks, or maybe its strategy to make Bambi’s lot think he’s ahead right up until the last minute, then whoomph, really dont know.

  261. STATEMENT FROM MCCAIN-PALIN SPOKESWOMAN MEG STAPLETON

    Friday, October 10, 2008

ARLINGTON, VA — McCain-Palin 2008 spokeswoman Meg Stapleton issued the following statement on today’s release of Stephen Branchflower’s report:

“Today’s report shows that the Governor acted within her proper and lawful authority in the reassignment of Walt Monegan. The report also illustrates what we’ve known all along: this was a partisan led inquiry run by Obama supporters and the Palins were completely justified in their concern regarding Trooper Wooten given his violent and rogue behavior. Lacking evidence to support the original Monegan allegation, the Legislative Council seriously overreached, making a tortured argument to find fault without basis in law or fact. The Governor is looking forward to cooperating with the Personnel Board and continuing her conversation with the American people regarding the important issues facing the country.”

    thats all it needs.

  262. Well better than that, Acorn may be it but Rezko is certainly singing like a canary from what I’ve heard.

  263. True, but rezko isnb’t as accessible as ACORN. Voter fraud affects everyone in a very personal way whereas the Rezko issue is so much more abstract to the average citizen.

Plus i doubt Fitzpatrick will move against BO, if he has the proof, before the GE.

    whaddayathink.

BTW – are you watchig FOX? They’re all over Acorn and Ayers. Add Auchia and Alsammarae to the mix – the 4 ‘A’s.’

  264. so he did not work with acorn in the general election, he sure did to cheat Hillary out of the nomination in the primary. I hope the republicans stay all over this, maybe they will uncover the fraud during the primary as well.

    ACORN UPDATE

The probe into fraudulent voter registrations in Allegheny County may soon produce criminal charges, according to the DA. The charges may not be limited to the misdemeanor of registration fraud, either, but potentially forgery — a felony that carries a stiff sentence:

The Allegheny County district attorney said Thursday that criminal charges could result from nearly 100 fraudulent voter registrations submitted in the Pittsburgh area, some of which came from a group accused of flooding elections offices around the country with bogus applications. …

Contest Time: Come up with funniest acronym for what ACORN really stands for.

  268. National Propaganda Radio had a quick segment on Palin (“quote” is from memory, best effort):

Gov. Palin was found to have abused her power as Governor.

    &&&&&&&&

not a mention that she was found not to have broken any single law.

by that measure, every mayor, councilman, governor could be found to abuse power; Gov. Corzine speeding down the Garden St.Parkway, for example.

I’m going to be accused of “abusing my power” as citizen if I don’t vote for Obama. Guess what…

  269. Good Morning All

Big Media again, in selecting to say she was found guilty of influencing, but not reporting that she had broken NO LAWS.

So which is worse, letting people know what a trooper did to his wife, or FALSE VOTER REGISTRATION.

  270. Obama flits between “hit jobs” and Bill Clinton’s “being the bigger person”:

    AP on Yahoo has this:

By CHARLES BABINGTON, Associated Press Writer 17 minutes ago

PHILADELPHIA – Barack Obama acknowledged Saturday that John McCain has asked his supporters to temper their attacks on him. But the Democratic presidential nominee said the Republican’s economic plans remain wrong for the country. (snip)

  271. got this from Harry Reid….

“Over the next few weeks we need to have two priorities. First, electing Barack Obama President of the United States and second, making sure he has 60 Democratic votes in the Senate so Republicans do not filibuster his agenda.”
    ++++++++

“so Republicans do not filibuster his agenda.”
I don’t know about you guys but the thought of this scares me…really scares me.

The democratic leadership has shown it’s true colors in this election and it aint “rosy”

If for nothing else we must keep the checks and balances in DC.

Does McCain have the best plans for us, I really don’t know because the truth is none of us really do. But he has the character, experience and judgement that has been tested. I don’t support all the republican issues..but at least they don’t flip flop on them every other day. I know where they stand. And I can’t stand against any attempt to force them all on the American people.

But do I know that BHO will change his mind with the wind, yes. Has he and the democratic leadership shown they will do anything to win even if is illegal, and unfair, yes. Does the judgement of BHO come into question, yes. Is he tested and vetted NO.

The checks and balances need to be maintained in DC. I ask all of you, if you are struggling with your vote to stop listening to the rhetoric and look at the records.
BHO does not have one except to stand firm with the extremist liberal wing of the democratic party. McCain has a history you can review.

If Bill Clinton can run this country with a republican congress, then John McCain can run it with a democratic one.

    Don’t be fooled!!

  272. A – american
    C – community
    O – organisers
    R – republic of
N – neanderthals, neophytes, nincompoops, neuters, nonsense, nuts…

  273. We are facing a financial crisis. You can argue about how wide and deep it will be, but there is no way you can deny it exists and expect to be taken seriously.

Once you accept that reality, the question becomes which of the two presidential candidates is most likely to solve or at least mitigate the problem and which one is likely to make it worse?

From what I can determine, bots to see this election as a fashion statement and others see it as a simple question of party label. They are naive. This is the most imporant hiring decision most of us will make in our lifetime.

With Hillary out of the race the upside here is limited. However, the downside is potentially catastrophic. We cannot rely on corrupt pundits, bribed and blackmailed politicians who are now telling us that we must elect this freshman senator from Chicago or the world will end. In fact the opposite may be true.

For me at least, the financial future of this country for the short and immediate term comes down to twofundamental questions:

    1) first, which of the two candidates will restore confidence to markets?

    2) second, which of the two candidates has the proven track record of leadership in a crisis situation?

To answer those questions we must look beyond party label. McCain is not Bush and Bambi is not Roosevelt. In fact McCain is in many respects a repudiation of Bush, and Obama is the negation of Roosevelt. Obama is a friend to Wall Street whereas Roosevelt was a friend to Main Street.

Here then is how I see it:

    1. Market Confidence: ask any stock broker today what is going to happen in the economy he or she will tell you that the markets are waiting on the results of this election. That will determine which direction the market moves–north to recovery or south to god knows what.

They will tell you that the name Barack Obama strikes fear into the hearts of many major investors, who move markets. Regardless of what he now says, they believe Obama will tax them to pay for a great society type programs. Therefore, they will move into safe investments or send their money off shore. Thus, if he is elected this alone could produce a further collapse in the market.

(Note: Obama is not a New Deal centrist like Hillary. Rather he is a Great Society radical with free market philosophy).

    2. Crisis Managment: McCain has a military background which includes distinguished service to this country as a Navy pilot and the privations of being a prisoner of war. He surivived and helped others survive as well.

And what exactly does Obama have that compares even remotely with that? how about his experience as a leader of ACORN the perpetrator of massive voter fraud? A state senator where he voted present 130 times, lined his own pocket and left his constituents in the cold? A US senator who ducked the Iraq vote and has pushed a global great society program?

If you take away all the hype and glitter that is what this election really comes down to. It is sobering to say the least. It will test the thinking abilitility of the American People to a degree that was not necessary before, since we now have a corrupt media which compounds the problem.

There is clear evidence that these people, who control disproportionate amounts of the nations wealth are Obamaizing their portfolios now and others will follow suit en masse if he is elected.

  274. Don’t know what to make of all this. A radio interview from May with a guy called Webster Tarpley. People who know US history, please comment.

    http://www.deepjournal.com/p/7/a/en/1497.html
-I have always wondered, where do these candidates for presidents come from? Is there a grooming process? You actually say Obama has been recruted by Zbigniew Brzezinski as a student on Columbia University?

Webster Tarpley: Yes. This is the interesting about Obama’s biography, that he has these lost years and the lost years where nobody knows anything about what he was doing, we’re not even sure where he was. 1981, 1982, 1983 his last two years in college. He was a Junior and a Senior at Columbia University, actually Columbia College at Columbia University in uptown Manhattan, Morningside Heights. He had started his career at Occidental College near Los Angeles after going to a very expensive private school in Hawaii, the Punahou School. If you go back to 1981, 1982 – you can do this with the help of Samuel Huntington’s Book on American politics, which I quote in my own book, which is called Obama, The Postmodern Coup, the Making of a Manchurian Candidate. If you look in here you will see that they were already sort of summing up their experiences under Carter and they were looking ahead. Huntington is explicitly looking ahead to 2010 and 2030, in other words he believes that there’s gonna be a crisis of ungovernability, what he called the ‘creedal passion period’. Political upsurge and economic breakdown perhaps. All of this starting around 2010, which is now where we are, we have reached that point.
My guess is that Obama was recruted by Brzezinski at Columbia 1981, 1982, 1983. You cannot notice this positively, because Obama in his memoires, he has got this thing called Dreams from my Father, he tells you everything about himself, he tells you about marihuana, cocaine, almost heroine, but not quite, tells you all this stuff, but when it comes to Columbia University he tells you nothing. It’s exactly puzzling, because why would he tell you about marihuana and cocaine, which are bad and than not tell you about his career, with this wonderful Ivy League prestigious elite Columbia University, he doesn’t say anything about it.

The same thing is what The New York Times found. The New York Times, trying to do the life of Obama, they focused on his years in New York City, because they’re from New York and they couldn’t find anything. They couldn’t find out what courses he took, who his friends were, anything that he did, he doesn’t seem to be in the yearbook, it’s all very strange. Chicago Tribune which is very, very favourable to Obama did the same thing, could not find anything about those years at Columbia. Now they’re two possibilities. One is that he’s hiding homosexual activity. Obama, I think, is pretty well established to be a bi-sexual, he’s accused by Larry Sinclair of homosexual encounters with crack-cocaine. We can talk about that in a minute. But I think the deeper level is what he’s covering up in terms of his contacts with Brzezinski.

  275. Following my long post, Obama was in Columbia in 1981, 1982, and 1983. Isn’t this also the time he took his famous trip to Pakistan and Afganistan(?) ? To think that these years are unaccounted for is simply creepy. Where is the media asking questions, trying to help people? Democracy without free and unbiased media is no democracy.

the other thing is that these very people do not even trust themselves. gee why’s that?? lack of confidence? free up the money (there’s hundreds of billions waiting by private investors), hire people with good paying jobs and stop speculating, short selling, eliminate the hedge funds, secure the investments, and regulate the mortgage and credit rates

Look at the list, familiar names, this is where Obama got his grounding, this is where his pres run is coming from.

    Those listed include;

Elaine Bernard-A Labour academic and prominent DSA member.

Noam Chomsky-Linguist and activist, member of both DSA and CoC.

Steve Cobble-Political consultant, now a leader of the DSA linked Progressive Democrats of America.

Barbara Ehrenreich-Author, activist and DSA leader.

Bill Fletcher-Former Maoist, a labour activist and leading DSA member.

Maude Hurd-Longtime ACORN president. Awarded for her work by Boston DSA.

Manning Marable-A founder of both DSA and CoC. Regarded as a driving force within the New Party.

Frances Fox Piven-A DSA member. regarded as the brains behind ACORN.

Raphael Pizzaro-New York labour activist and former CPUSA member. An official of both CoC and DSA.

    Gloria Steinem-Author and DSA member

Cornel West-Academic and prominent DSA member

Quentin Young-Chicago doctor, prominent DSA member, formerly allegedly involved with CPUSA.

Howard Zinn-Historian. Describes himself as an anarchist/democratic socialist.

    Is there a pattern here?

Quentin Young is a longtime friend, near neighbour and political supporter of Obama. He attended the famous 1995 meeting in the Chicago home of former terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn where Illinois State Senator Alice Palmer introduced Barack Obama as her chosen successor.

Cornel West is now one of the two members of Obama’s “Black Advisory Council”.

In August 2006 several former Weather Underground terrorists, including Ayers and Dohrn, joined leaders of DSA, CPUSA and CoC to form a new organisation-Movement for a Democratic Society (MDS).

Several former New Party leaders joined the MDS board including Noam Chomsky, Carl Davidson, Barbara Ehrenreich, Bill Fletcher and since January 2007, chairman Manning Marable.

Unsuccessful board nominees included former NP leaders Cornel West and Howard Zinn.

Early this year MDS board members Davidson, Ehrenreich and Fletcher joined with former Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) leader Tom Hayden and DSA linked actor/activist Danny Glover to form a satellite organisation, Progressives for Obama (PFO)

Huck is convinced someone or some persons are causing the market to crash. He says this is economic terrorism that needs to be investigated by the CIA. This was brought to his attention by someone he trusts that is familiar with how the market operates. This person noticed a disturbing trend in the way stocks were being bought and sold. Huck firmly believes this is the case. Some of us have talked about this theory before and that it could be Soros, Buffet or other Obama supporters.

  285. Since mid-September, the stock market has cratered, losing half of the $8 trillion that has vanished since October 2007. All five of America’s great investment banks — Bear Sterns, Lehman Brothers, Merrill-Lynch, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley — have either ceased to be independent or ceased to be.

The nation’s largest savings and loan, Washington Mutual, and largest insurance company, AIG, have gone belly up, with the federal bailout of the latter costing $100 billion and counting. Perhaps $3 trillion of the $8 trillion in stock value that is gone disappeared after passage of the $700 billion federal bailout of Wall Street.

No bottom is in sight to the worst market crash since 1929. Recession is now certain. George W. Bush has fallen to 26 percent approval, a level unseen since Richard Nixon was driven from office in the Watergate summer of ’74. Four in five think the nation is on the wrong course.

Yet, Obama has only a six-point lead in an averaging of national polls. While he has moved ahead in Ohio, Florida, North Carolina and Virginia, one senses America is not so much rallying to him as running away from a Republican brand that is now on the same shelf with Chinese baby formula.

Obama still has not closed the sale. He has overtaken McCain not because of any brilliant campaign he has conducted but because of the dreadful news pouring out of Wall Street. McCain and Palin are being dragged down by Dow Jones, not Barack Obama.

As of today, the country is not so much voting for Barack and the Democrats as it is preparing to vote against the Republicans.

Consider: The Congress, whose Democratic ranks the nation is getting ready to enlarge — the Congress led by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid — has an approval rating half that of Bush.

Indeed, looking back on the Year of Barack, 2008, it is clear he has never closed the sale, either with the people or his own party.

After he came off the blocks with a startling triumph in Iowa and ran up a dozen straight primary and caucus victories in February, arrived the spring when Hillary, though Obama’s media auxiliary was ordering her to get out, defeated him in Texas, crushed him in Ohio and Pennsylvania, and humiliated him in West Virginia and Kentucky.

Each time the voters take a long second look at Barack, their positive first impressions seem to dissipate. Barack is a weak closer.

Herein lies McCain’s hope. The country wants change, but it has not concluded it wants Obama. But if John McCain cannot raise grave doubts about his agenda, his associates, his record, his character, his fitness to be president, Obama is going to win by default.

Obama has succeeded in the debates by playing defense. By his cool demeanor and persona, he has diminished apprehensions about an Obama presidency. There is no evidence of surging enthusiasm.

The Obama media are well aware of Obama’s Achilles’ heel, his great vulnerability, the doubts about him that still exist in the public mind. That is why they are near hysterical about Palin’s ripping of Obama for “palling around” with “domestic terrorists” like William Ayres, the 1960s and 1970s Weatherman radical who conspired to bomb the Capitol and Pentagon and was quoted the morning of 9-11 as saying he wished he had set off more bombs.

The mainstream media call this irrelevant, as it was so long ago.

Yet, can one imagine how the media would have reacted had they learned that a GOP presidential nominee was introduced to politics and worked in harness with a KKK bomber of black churches in the 1960s, who was quoted the morning of Oklahoma City as saying he wished he had planted more bombs?

As McCain is an establishment man on illegal aliens, NAFTA and Wall Street bailouts, uneasy with social issues like affirmative action and abortion, he lacks the full panoply of weapons that successful Republicans like Nixon, Ronald Reagan and Bush II used to win two terms. He seems to confine himself to the limited arsenal Gerald Ford, Bush 1 and Bob Dole employed when they went down to defeat.

This election is not over. Yet, even if McCain gets a bit of luck, a dead cat bounce on Wall Street, he must persuade the nation Obama is an unacceptable occupant of the White House if he is to win.

Palin appears ready to take the heat to make that case. But McCain seems ambivalent to the point of being bipolar on whether he wants to take responsibility for peeling the hide off Barack Obama.

Perhaps it comes down to what McCain really thinks about an Obama presidency, and how he wants to be remembered by history.

  286. RGB and those polls are only in his favour from having a larger than normal dem sample, so he aint leading at all and thats weird becausse really the Dems should be running away with this and they aint.

    ———————————————
WHO IS BEST FOR THE ECONOMY?

We are facing a financial crisis. You can argue about how wide and deep it will be, but there is no way you can deny its existence and expect to be taken seriously.

Once you accept that reality, the question becomes which of the two presidential candidates is most likely to solve or at least mitigate the problem and which one is likely to make it worse?

From what I can determine, bots see this election as a fashion statement, or the path to a new heaven and a new earth. Other low information voters see it as a simple matter of party label. They are naive. This is the most important hiring decision most of us will make in our lifetime. Make no mistake about that.

The options are not the greatest. With Hillary out of the race the upside here is limited. However, the downside is potentially catastrophic. We cannot rely on corrupt pundits, bribed politicans or blackmailed politicians who are now telling us that we must elect this freshman senator from Chicago or else the world will end. In fact the opposite may be true.

In simplest terms, the financial future of this country for the short and immediate term comes down to two fundamental questions:

    1) first, which of the two candidates will restore confidence to markets?

    2) second, which of the two candidates has the proven track record of leadership in a crisis situation?

To answer those questions we must look beyond party label. McCain is not Bush and Obama is not Roosevelt. In fact McCain is in many respects a repudiation of Bush, and Obama is the negation of Roosevelt. Obama is a friend to Wall Street whereas Roosevelt was a friend to Main Street–and ner’ the twain shall meet.

By contrast, markets will be react favorably if the voters elect McCain. That is partly because he is not Obama, and partly because they see stable qualities in him and a bias for reform which bode well for the structural improvements, and a reliable system of checks and balances.

There is no question about his patriotism.

And what exactly does the Great Gatsby Obama have that compares even remotely with that? how about his experience as a leader of ACORN the perpetrator of massive voter fraud? A state senator where he voted present 130 times, lined his own pocket and left his constituents in the cold? A US senator who ducked the Iraq vote and has pushed a global great society program?

If you take away all the hype and glitter that is what this election really comes down to. It is sobering to say the least. It will test the thinking abilitility of the American People to a degree that was not necessary before, since we now have a corrupt media which compounds the problem.

  291. I don’t think Huckabee is crazy. Maybe that makes ME crazy, but at least I’m in good company. 😉

Interesting to consider this, AND the hacking of the World Bank, no?

  292. imo this economy has been seriously inflated for a long time…I see a natural order for it to re-adjust itself. take for example the home values…less than 10 years ago home prices were half the price they are today..how did they get so high?? they were over inflated and now the prices are coming down to realistic levels.

the over inflation was done for nothing more than greed…you pay more I make more.

I’m not too concerned over this mess but I am angry the American people will have to pay for it.

Congress did not listen to the American people and took our money to help out crooked business practices by passing the BAILOUT bill. This did not have to be on our backs!

look at the bank closures between 1987 and 1992, so far they way outnumber the closures of today.

anybody notice how smiley some of the financial analysts are on TV..why is that???

  294. I honestly do not know what to think right now. I went to the Republican event last night, submitted my questions in writing and they should be answered early next week. There is to be an event here in town and ‘workers’ have to have security clearance. All they said was because of securit reasons the party could not announce the person, but that it would be one of the top four. I think I will sign up for this and hope it is Palin.
There were local politicians there and they gave speeches. The emcee did introduce me and told them that Obama had not won the election from Hillary, but rather stole it as I had informed him. These people do not know about the thievery and thuggery and such that Obama and his minions perpetrated against Hillary, but it should be important to them because they are doing the same thing to McCain and Palin.
I was in shock at how calm, cool, and collected they all seemed to be. They were happy to support their candidate. They did not show any indication that they had to FIGHT to win this election. And the emcee even said that the ‘internals’ were good and they were going to win.
I left there thinking, I sure so hope. But, if it is true why do I have this knot that keeps growing in my stomach, and a perpetual headache about this election – and I am not even a Republican?

Who Owned Obama’s Home And Who Paid His Taxes?

One of my stellar readers, SBD, has been doing some research on Obama’s home in Hyde Park, Chicago. As the story goes the Obama’s bought the home in 1993 and subsequently sold it in 2005. But if you look at the records on the property they are very confusing and suspicious.

    …snip…..

Here is the summary of what was found in the records:
A Lexis property search for Obama in Illinois shows the Hyde Park property in Obama’s name beginning in 1998, but Obama supposedly bought the property in 1993.
All tax assessments from 1998-2004 are in the name of Emil – is this the person paying taxes on the property for the Obamas until they sold the property in 2005?
Obama Records have a different Legal Description than the original owner’s documents.
Cook County Recorder shows completely different information than Lexis: Emil owns the property from 1986-1989, so why is he listed as paying taxes from 1998-2004 in other records?
The property is passed via Warranty Deed to Stephen Anderson in 1989, then via Warranty Deed to Obama in 1993, then via Warranty Deed to Elling in 2005 – which aligns with the sequence one would expect given the standard news reports.
There is the Warranty Deed to Obama from Anderson in 1993, however release of the Anderson Mortgage is not recorded until 1998, and there is a requests it be sent to Obama’s former Law Firm.
The Obama address in the 1999 records was shown as 927 W. Argyle 1W, not Hyde Park.
The mortgage from Hyde Park Mortgage lent in 2002 is originally recorded and sent to Chase Manhattan Mortgage Company. Then assigned from Hyde Park Mortgage to Chase Manhattan Mortgage Company, Then it is supposedly Assigned again from Hyde Park Mortgage to Chase, but this last transaction says the original lender was Barbara Hill for an amount $30,000, property address 2772 E. 75th Street, Unit 3G S.
Finally, a 2005 Release from GREATER IL TITLE CO is listed as a record of payment and there is another seperate Release from Hyde Park Mortgage, even though it had been assigned twice to Chase Manhattan Mortgage.
The final sale by the Obamas was financed by Northern Trust, the same company that was used to purchase Obama’s new mansion which partially paid for by Rezko, who bought part of the land which he later sold to Obama.

es Project when it ran ads highlighting Obama’s ties to Ayers.

These attempts to shut down political speech have become routine for liberals. Congressional Democrats sought to reimpose the “fairness doctrine” on broadcasters, which until it was repealed in the 1980s required equal time for different points of view. The motive was plain: to shut down the one conservative-leaning communications medium, talk radio. Liberal talk-show hosts have mostly failed to draw audiences, and many liberals can’t abide having citizens hear contrary views.

To their credit, some liberal old-timers — like House Appropriations Chairman David Obey — voted against the “fairness doctrine,” in line with their longstanding support of free speech. But you can expect the “fairness doctrine” to get another vote if Barack Obama wins and Democrats increase their congressional majorities.

Corporate liberals have done their share in shutting down anti-liberal speech, too. “Saturday Night Live” ran a spoof of the financial crisis that skewered Democrats like House Financial Services Chairman Barney Frank and liberal contributors Herbert and Marion Sandler, who sold toxic-waste-filled Golden West to Wachovia Bank for $24 billion. Kind of surprising, but not for long. The tape of the broadcast disappeared from NBC’s Website and was replaced with another that omitted the references to Frank and the Sandlers. Evidently NBC and its parent, General Electric, don’t want people to hear speech that attacks liberals.

Then there’s the Democrats’ “card check” legislation, which would abolish secret ballot elections in determining whether employees are represented by unions. The unions’ strategy is obvious: Send a few thugs over to employees’ homes — we know where you live — and get them to sign cards that will trigger a union victory without giving employers a chance to be heard.

Once upon a time, liberals prided themselves, with considerable reason, as the staunchest defenders of free speech. Union organizers in the 1930s and 1940s made the case that they should have access to employees to speak freely to them, and union leaders like George Meany and Walter Reuther were ardent defenders of the First Amendment.

Today’s liberals seem to be taking their marching orders from other quarters. Specifically, from the college and university campuses where administrators, armed with speech codes, have for years been disciplining and subjecting to sensitivity training any students who dare to utter thoughts that liberals find offensive. The campuses that used to pride themselves as zones of free expression are now the least free part of our society.

Obama supporters who found the campuses congenial and Obama himself, who has chosen to live all his adult life in university communities, seem to find it entirely natural to suppress speech that they don’t like and seem utterly oblivious to claims that this violates the letter and spirit of the First Amendment. In this campaign, we have seen the coming of the Obama thugocracy, suppressing free speech, and we may see its flourishing in the four or eight years ahead.

  308. WTF!!!!!!
So Brunner of Ohio DOESN’T have to verify voter registration?????
The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals set aside a federal judge’s order a day earlier that Democratic Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner institute the means to verify voter registration information and make it available to Ohio’s 88 county election boards.

Brunner argued that it would take two to three days to create the necessary computer programs, and that nothing in the Help America Vote Act required her to do what the lower court ordered. A three-judge panel of the appeals court agreed in a split decision.

“With less than a month until the election, and less than two weeks until the beginning of counting absentee ballots, the secretary cannot be required to undertake the extensive reprogramming and other changes to the election mechanics without complete disruption of the electoral process in Ohio,” the majority said in its opinion. “The irreparable harm to the voting public caused by the district court’s order is equally clear.”

It is a rich irony that a court finds a requirement to screen out fraudulent voter registrations causes “irreparable harm to the voting public.” The fact that a single fraudulent registration cancels out a legitimate vote of a law abiding American seems not to bother them.

  309. Mike Huckabee on Fox said someone is deliberately crashing the markets.

“Huck is convinced someone or some persons are causing the market to crash”.

I also believe this to be the case….I think some billionaires and their huge foundations supporting various programs wanted a DEM president this year….some might have wanted Hillary and many would have liked to seen the two together. a high-level plan was in the works…I believe all DEM candidates were aware of it but some had more info than others….

    Remember these facts:

    – John Edwards wanting to “learn about hedge funds”
    – Questions asked in early dem primary about these hedge funds…by tim russert and the answers given by Hillary and teh rest…
    – Chris Dodd saying that they DEM party may not want to give their nomination to Hillary..
    – Judas richardson aiding and abetting BO the causus in IOWA
    – Biden …well maybe he had been chosen to keep this quiet…

The original “play the market” game to slow the economy before the election by these powerful people may have been hijacked by the radicals to the point of being an economic terrorism…

And that it why for the first time I am a little disappointed by hillary….

Bill said he will say more after jan 20th…let us see how much he tells…

I doubt they (the republicans) went to that much trouble to not have a game ender of a bomb to drop at the most opportune time. Perhaps the republicans can answer the question about where obama was in 1981,82 &83 and what he did in pakistan ?

    Obama vs. Free Speech
    By Michael Barone

“I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors,” Barack Obama told a crowd in Elko, Nev. “I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face.” Actually, Obama supporters are doing a lot more than getting into people’s faces. They seem determined to shut people up.

That’s what Obama supporters, alerted by campaign emails, did when conservative Stanley Kurtz appeared on Milt Rosenberg’s WGN radio program in Chicago. Kurtz had been researching Obama’s relationship with unrepentant Weather Underground terrorist William Ayers in Chicago Annenberg Challenge papers in the Richard J. Daley Library in Chicago — papers that were closed off to him for some days, apparently at the behest of Obama supporters.

Obama fans jammed WGN’s phone lines and sent in hundreds of protest emails. The message was clear to anyone who would follow Rosenberg’s example. We will make trouble for you if you let anyone make the case against The One.

Other Obama supporters have threatened critics with criminal prosecution. In September, St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch and St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce warned citizens that they would bring criminal libel prosecutions against anyone who made statements against Obama that were “false.” I had been under the impression that the Alien and Sedition Acts had gone out of existence in 1801-02. Not so, apparently, in metropolitan St. Louis. Similarly, the Obama campaign called for a criminal investigation of the American Issues Project when it ran ads highlighting Obama’s ties to Ayers.

These attempts to shut down political speech have become routine for liberals. Congressional Democrats sought to reimpose the “fairness doctrine” on broadcasters, which until it was repealed in the 1980s required equal time for different points of view. The motive was plain: to shut down the one conservative-leaning communications medium, talk radio. pm317, I agree with you, I am appalled that McCain stood up and said that Obama was not an Arab, for one thing he is.
    *****************************************************
I agree with McCain on this issue, unless McCain has absolute proof he must stand up against appearing racist as that will only help Obama and his supporters but “we the people” can use our “common sense” and speculate based on reason.

Jailed Obama Fundraiser Spills the Beans

    elections.foxnews.com/2008/10/11/jailed-obama-fundraiser-spills-beans/

HICAGO — Jailed political fundraiser Antoin “Tony” Rezko, the Chicago real estate developer who helped launch Barack Obama on his political career, is whispering secrets to federal prosecutors about corruption in Illinois and the political fallout could be explosive.

Democratic Gov. Rod Blagojevich, whose administration faces multiple federal investigations over how it handed out jobs and money with advice from Rezko, is considered the most vulnerable.

Rezko also was friendly with Obama — offering him a job when he finished law school, funding his earliest political campaigns and purchasing a lot next to his house. But based on the known facts, charges so far and testimony at Rezko’s trial, there’s no indication there’ll be an October surprise that could hurt the Democratic presidential nominee — even though Rezko says prosecutors are pressing him for dirt about Obama.

  319. the Thing is, i want something high profile to blow with Rezko, even if its only with blago and other corrupt illinois politicians asap because, we can paint it as this is all coming back to dirty chicago politics.

Obama with his ties to Ayers – Chicago
Obama and his ties to Rezko – Chicago
Obama and his ties to Acorn – Chicago

We need to tie this all up to CHICAGO and its corrupt behaviour, if McCain can paint Obama as nothing more than slezy Chicago then he can take Obama down properly.

  320. This Ohio thing is very disturbing. I thought the first judge ordered to keep those same day registration and absentee ballot separate so that they can be verified before counting. I also heard once you separate the ballot from the rest of the package, there is no way of telling where that ballot came from. If Brunner is not giving the election boards access to SSN or DMV info, there is no way the boards can verify the registrations. This is not good. Is the fix in Ohio even before any votes are counted just like the primary? As I write this, I am filled with rage.

basil, is there is a link?

  323. Doesn’t everyone think that the republicans are digging in to this acorn thing because it is known how Obama stole the election from Hillary and are trying to stop this from happening to McCain? Fox has been on the Acorn thing all day, something must be up!

I do think the bilderberg group aka trilateral commission aka illuminati are behind this global stock market failure, I hope the republicans have something to sink Obama and find out who is behind this. McCain has promised that if he is elected he will find out who is doing this and that it will never happen again. HE NEEDS TO KEEP SAYING THIS!!

  324. I did not mean to knock McCain, I will never ever vote for Oblama, but I am a Democrat, one of the forgotten, not needed, told to stay home kind. I like McCain in that he had the balls to hire Palin and I really do believe he is a reformer and will be good in a lot of ways for this country. I DO KNOW THIS OBAMA WILL BE A DISASTER FOR THIS COUNTRY and it has already begun by this stock market thing. FOLKS THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING IF THE MESIAH IS ELECTED!!

  325. I think it’s time for McCain-Palin to talk about their vision of America and what they want to do for this country and all it’s people.

People are getting angry and McCain need to talk about his positive vision.

Obama and the Dimocrats are not helping their cause at all…Obama is being helped all over the place and that special treatment is seen and is ticking people off.

Acorn, Obama’s bad judgements in associations, the Dimocrats and their BS lies aren’t helping their cause even the economy is not going to help Obama. They more they go after Palin and try to destroy her to less it will work.

Even that bias, weak attempt at a smear campaign over her job performance on her wacko former brother-in-law would have gotten him FIRED any place else.

I do think Palin staff need to photocopy those part of the report that confirms Palin side that she had cause to offer a transfer to another position which is buried but in the report.

Either way the media hasn’t lost what little sense they have because most people feel that trooper should not be on the force.

  326. The Democrats really overestimate the power of calling people racists when they are not…it will backfire on them big time in the voting booth. People don’t like being called racist when they bring up your record with valid criticism.

Just like that fool who hacked Gov. Palin’s yahoo account, he is not bragging about it or calling people “low information” voter. I think McCain coming up front and Stand up again racism time and time again take away Team Obama Credibility and just angers those you need to earn their votes from.

Civil Rights Icon Compares McCain to Segregationist Gov. George Wallace

Civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis of Georgia accuses John McCain and Sarah Palin of stoking hate at their campaign events

    FOXNews.com
    Saturday, October 11, 2008

Georgia Rep. John Lewis, a civil rights-era icon , invoked segregationist Gov. George Wallace of Alabama in accusing John McCain and Sarah Palin of fanning the flames of hatred at Republican campaign events.

“What I am seeing reminds me of too much of another destructive period in American history,” Lewis said in a statement released to FOX News. “Senator McCain and Governor Palin are sowing the seeds of hatred and division, and there is no need for this hostility in our political discourse.”

“George Wallace never threw a bomb. He never fired a gun, but he created the climate and the conditions that encouraged vicious attacks against innocent Americans who were simply trying to exercise their constitutional rights,” Lewis added. “Because of this atmosphere of hate, four little girls were killed on Sunday morning when a church was bombed in Birmingham, Alabama.”

He then accused McCain and Palin of “playing with fire” in a way that “disregards the value of the political process and cheapens our entire democracy.”

McCain immediately responded, calling on Obama to denounce Lewis’ statement.

“Congressman John Lewis’ comments represent a character attack against Governor Sarah Palin and me that is shocking and beyond the pale,” McCain said in a written statement. “The notion that legitimate criticism of Senator Obama’s record and positions could be compared to Governor George Wallace, his segregationist policies and the violence he provoked is unacceptable and has no place in this campaign.

For years, McCain has been an admirer of Lewis, including praising him in a book on courage and bravery. McCain cited Lewis as one of “three wise men” he would consult as president during a forum at Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church in August.

A crowd stood in the rain Saturday morning and quickly snapped up 2,000 tickets to see Republican presidential candidate John McCain when he makes a campaign stop in Wilmington on Monday.

The tickets were distributed starting at noon at the party campaign headquarters at Wrightsville and Orchard avenues.

But GOP spokesmen said ticket holders wouldn’t be guaranteed a seat at the event, which will be held in Cape Fear Community College’s Schwartz Center. They will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors will open at noon for the 2 p.m. town hall-style event.

It will be McCain’s his first North Carolina visit with voters since May.

McCain last appeared before voters in May at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem. He last visited North Carolina in June, when he met privately with evangelist Billy Graham.

The announcement comes after Democratic candidate Barack Obama spent several days in western North Carolina preparing for this week’s debate with McCain.

Michelle Obama visited Jacksonville and Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin was in Greenville on Tuesday.

The increasing activity is one measure of the fact that North Carolina, and its 15 electoral votes, could be won by either candidate this year.

North Carolina hasn’t voted for a Democratic presidential candidate since Jimmy Carter in 1976 and its status as a battleground state was unexpected earlier this year. But now, public polls and an avalanche of Democratic voter registrations indicate North Carolina is no longer a safe Republican state.

North Carolina has changed along with the million residents who have moved into the state since 2000. Since Jan. 1, new voter registrations in North Carolina have favored Democrats nearly 4-to-1.

McCain’s campaign says it remains confident that the GOP will win North Carolina in the end. His supporters focus on the Republican’s credentials as a commander in chief in a state with several major military bases.

But an Elon University poll of North Carolina residents found that twice as many people blamed Republicans for the poor economy than Democrats.

  329. How can anyone compare McCain to Wallace, is beyond the pale. Anyone living in the sixties would remember the divisiveness of Wallace, and there is no way in hell, that McCain embodies that type of hatred and violence. I am ashamed of John Lewis. If anyhone should know better, it is him. This is absolutely nutzo. Once again, whatever the Bo campaign is accusing their opponent of, is what they are doing or sowing. The BO campaign is sowing the seeds of racial divisiveness. They have been doing this, since the primary season. This is unacceptable.

  330. I honestly believe the Democratic? Taliban Party and their supporters are actually afraid Obama will lose this election. They’re throwing out the kitchen sink on McCain/Palin and still with the bad economy McCain is within a tie or a few % point down, even with the bad sampling.

Palin should keep pounding Obama’s domestic plans are only going to hurt small small business, all business badly with higher taxes and huge spending. I like how Palin explains McCain domestic plan better and really put pressure on Obama to be more specific.

  342. conjecture about BO’s eleigibility from judah benjamine at texasdarlin.
    excerpt.

““2d Session S. RES. 511: Recognizing that John Sidney McCain, III, is a natural born citizen.: In the Senate of the United States.” was Sponsored by Senator McCaskill and co-sponsored by Senators Leahy, Obama, Coburn, Clinton and Webb. Why? Why were Democratic Senators trying to pass a Resolution making Senator McCain undoubtedly Legally Eligible when this issue had already been cleared up in 2000 and again in 2004? And why did Senators McCaskill and Obama reportedly insert the following Clause?

“Whereas previous presidential candidates were born outside of the United States of America and were understood to be eligible to be President;”

This Clause has no particular relevance to McCain and the following Clause, which it is reported McCaskill and Obama attempted to REMOVE shows that:

“; and Whereas John Sidney McCain, III, was born to American citizens on an American military base in the Panama Canal Zone in 1936:”

It seems clear that McCaskill and Obama were attempting to create a blanket Resolution covering ALL Foreign Born candidates. Why do that if not to benefit a Foreign Born Democratic Candidate, who did not have a US Military background?

McCain did not need this resolution, Richardson did not need this Resolution, so far as I can see nobody needed this Resolution unless somebody in the race was born outside the USA and was “Covering his/her Ass” and the only individual in the race that that could apply to was Senator Obama! This in turn would show that the Senator is a liar who has been peddling untruths about his birth for at least 16 years!

DEM CONGRESS PLANS ON OBAMA WIN; PELOSI MAY CALL HOUSE BACK…

WASHINGTON (AP) – After consulting with Barack Obama, Democratic leaders are likely to call Congress back to work after the election in hopes of passing legislation that would include extended jobless benefits, money for food stamps and possibly a tax rebate, officials said Saturday.

The bill’s total cost could reach $150 billion, these officials said.

The officials stressed that no final decisions have been made. They spoke on condition of anonymity, saying they did not want to pre-empt a formal announcement. House Democrats have announced plans for an economic forum on Monday “to help Congress develop an economic recovery plan that focuses on creating jobs and strengthening our economy.”

Democrats said Obama’s campaign has been involved in discussions on a possible stimulus package. The party’s presidential candidate, running ahead in the polls, has outlined his own proposals for stimulating the economy.

Democrats are increasingly confident of capturing the White House and increasing their majorities in the House and Senate on Nov. 4.

  351. turndown, I don’t know the history of media bias or lack of it. But you’re right. Others have said that the press was always biased. But what is going on now seems beyond the pale. Show me another presidential candidate in US history with a thin resume and questionable associations like Obama that the media pushed through. There was always some threshold standard and a sense of decency which is totally lacking now. A white presidential or any political candidate associating with David Duke will never get elected. On the other hand Obama is let off the hook because of the sentiments of minority rights and protection. He has pushed it out of the envelop though.

  352. “I have received an unverified tip that certified copies of a Kenyan Birth Certificate (BC) for Obama were sent from Kenya, and have been received by three separate individuals. Witnesses to the birth? Summoned, no doubt, by seeing his star in the East.

  353. hmmmmmm….
is this why BO’s polls are so good?

“…. perhaps because organizations like Gallup don’t admit that 80% of the people they call are hanging up on them this year. A Gallup pollster being interviewed on Michael Medved’s radio show the other day said that usually, the number of hang-ups hovers around 40%-50%, so there are a lot of people not willing to talk about their voting preferences. This begs the question – who is left? Who are the Gallup people, for example, actually talking to and are their polls representative of the actual electorate.

The Obama campaign has been playing the race card since January. The media happily played along and now the DNC is openly using it as a campaign strategy. I, and millions like me, who are not guilty of race bias are furious – in fact, apoplectic – at being accused of a horrible sin we are not in the least guilty of. Is it any wonder someone would not want to share their voting preferences with a pollster when to say you do not support Obama is, according to the media, tantamount to saying you are a racist.

    – tax payer moneypaing for ACORN and demss attachingd this to the bailout bill.
    – Obama lies about Wright, Ayers, Rezko.
    – biased pro-Obama media.
    – being threatened with riots, should Obama lose.
    – Obama worship, the militant groups, the *blue shirts*, the Hitler-esque salutes and symbols, and the children singing videos.
    – Obama trying to negotiate with Iraq, and delay withdrawal to his benefit
    – fake presidential seals, air force one, and world tours.
    – deceptive polling tactics – not asking which candidate you are supporting, but only – – — asking issue related questions, and then assigning you a candidate.
    – crazed attacks on Sarah Palin coming from Hollywood.
    – being called racist, but the media ignoring that 93% of African Americans voted for Obama.
    – being harassed in the street for wearing a Clinton, or McCain/Palin button.
    – their Pro-Clinton or McCain yard signs being stolen.
    – their vehicles being vandalized for having Clinton or McCain stickers on them.
    – pro-Obama thugs who scream racist chargeswhile they are sitting in restaurants.

    – Obama thugs hack their web sites and/or shut them down.

And NOW that a few people have stood up and vented that anger, and a few have screamed *terrorist* or *kill him* with the mention of William Ayers, McCain and Palin are being accused of forming lynch mobs, trying to divide the country, and worse.

Obama said that McCain and Palin are stoking anger and division.

It is not McCain and Palin that are stoking anger and causing divide. That was accomplished by Obama, the DNC, the MSM and the thug like behavior of Obama supporters.

People are pissed off. And people are feeling panicked. But, you can’t blame that anger on McCain or Palin. You can blame that on Obama and his supporters.

You can only kick a dog so many times before he finally bites you back.

  369. I watched the video on the Berg lawsuit. He appears to be a very competent attorney.

What people need to understand here is that if Obama is elected, and Berg prevails then Obama will be forced to produce the birth certificate.

When he cannot do so then he will be forced to step down, Biden will become president and poopsie will become vice president.

That is yet another reason to vote for mccain. We cannot have an ignorant buffoon like Pelosi a heartbeat away from the presidency.

  370. a poster from another site said she gets 3 newspapers on the weekend, the NYT, SF chronicles and something else. the headlines on all 3 was violence at JM rallies. this is beyond surreal
    ——————————————–
I looked at NYT headlines today and found no evidence of this. How do they define violence? More lies.

  371. Let us review who the race baiter is here. This is from the paper I wrote a couple months back on the primary.

    G. The Race Card: in an article entitled “Race Man” Professor Sean Wilentz studied the tactics of the Obama campaign and concluded that they deliberately, falsely and successfully portrayed Hillary and her campaign as unscrupulous race baiters while portraying Obama as a post racial figure. These charges were deliberately manufactured by the Obama camp and trumpeted by a credulous and/or compliant press corps in order to strip away her once formidable majority among black voters and to outrage college educated white liberals. They did so when Obama ran into dire straits after his losses in New Hampshire and Nevada. At that point MSNBC Obama shills Chuck Todd (Politico) and Eugene Robinson (Washington Post) falsely accused voters of racism for electing Clinton over Obama. They would repeat that false charge in later primaries as well. When Hillary accused Obama of creating a racial controversy in South Carolina he called the allegation fascinating and denied it. A few days later however an Obama campaign memo came to light which proved that the allegation was valid and his denial of it was a lie. Also, they called upon an unscrupulous politician named Clyburn who pretended to be neutral so he could level false charges of racism against Bill Clinton. Finally, Obama campaign officials threatened black congressmen who supported Hillary to either fall in line or face primary challenges. Obama himself maintained a posting on his website entitled field slave (Obama supporter) vs. house slave (Clinton supporter).

Beyond that, the powers that be have done a grave disservice to our country by framing this election as a contest between racial justice and our racist past. This has caused Black America in large numbers to embrace an unqualified candidate because he happens to be part black and Europeans plus the Third World to see his candidacy as a way for America to achieve a form of redemption. They fail to ask why him and why now. The inescapable problem is that Obama has no job related experience, terrorist associates and questionable core beliefs. Furthermore, he is a human gaff machine with little understanding of the forces moving the world. Finally, he is not the kind of leader who can solve the serious and in some cases existential problems we are facing as a country with two wars, and a sinking economy.

Therefore, the elites in their infinite wisdom have managed to set up a damned if you do-damned if you don’t paradigm. For if we elect an unqualified candidate like Obama then it may have disastrous consequences. But if we reject him because he is unqualified it may precipitate disillusion, recriminations and quite possibly civil disorder in certain segments of the population. Either alternative is a losing proposition for the country. The people who framed the election in these terms are morally reprehensible. If they felt it was important to elect a black man to move our nation beyond its racist past then it was incumbent upon them to nominate a qualified one like Colin Powell. But practical thinking has never been their forte.

    carby,
i swear i don’t get the constant race card hype.
at this point it would seem playing it would alienate undecideds even further.

    what’s your take?
    *****************************************************
I’m black and I can’t stand it! It tells the wrong message to our children that they are victims and every challenge in life is race related when most times it your own damn fault or people just don’t like you because of what you give back to them.

It’s like when women call men rapist when they don’t what to be accountable or responsible for their own actions. It belittle those who are true victims when false crimes are laid on the head of innocents.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1076695/Obama-hit-affair-smears-following-claims-attractive-aide-banned-wife.html

Obama is hit by ‘affair’ smears following claims that attractive aide was banned by his wife

Barack Obama is the target of a shadowy smear campaign designed to derail his bid for the US Presidency by falsely claiming he had a close friendship with an attractive African-American female employee. The whispers focus on a young woman who in 2004 was hired to work on his team for his bid to become a senator. The woman was purportedly sidelined from her duties after Senator Obama’s wife, Michelle, became convinced that he had developed a personal friendship with her. The allegations were initially circulated in August, just two weeks before the convention at which Obama finally beat his opponent for the Democratic Party nomination, Hillary Clinton.

The woman, now 33, vigorously denies the vicious and unsubstantiated gossip.

And some Washington insiders suggested that she was the victim of an 11th-hour attempt to smear Obama by die-hard Hillary supporters.

But now the rumours have resurfaced, suggesting that they may be coming from elements in the Republican Party.

According to sources interviewed by The Mail on Sunday, the respected Los Angeles Times, the tabloid National Enquirer and the huge ABC television network have been provided with the woman’s name.

  379. LMAO! When will the media learn? Their ratings are tanking both television and print and yet they are determined to wring as much blood as possible to ensure this inhuman piece of trash enters the White House on a chariot of white horses. Obama had the opportunity to run a clean and honest campaign. He chose instead to lie, cheat and bludgeon his way to the top.

Will Americans stand up and prove that they have not become the lemmings the dnc and Obama say they have?

Or will mass labotomies be the order of the day?

  380. just popping in for a sec – with all our chatter about BO and his questionable birthplace, I still think that the passport violation fiasco that happened during the primary when BO made a big stink (pun) about having congressional hearings on the violations – and then, it turned out to be one of his own supporter’s firm which breached the passport –

I think that was an intentional episode to draw attention to his U.S. passport in case there were any questions about his citizenship.

on another note – Basil9 – pie crust, mmmmmmmm.

  381. moonpluto,
You left out the best part!
    so here it is. 😉

n the most commonly-purveyed version of the rumour, she was ‘exiled’ to a Caribbean island because Michelle Obama objected to her job on the 2004 campaign.

A lawyer representing the woman said: ‘Although her duties on the [2004] campaign changed over time, there was never any hint that Mrs Obama had any concerns about her relationship with the Senator or played any role in recommending a change in her duties.’

According to our investigation into the rumours, they originated with political veterans who claim to be loyal Democrats.

They have tried to persuade reporters that they have the woman’s interests at heart.

One of the sources who has been circulating the rumours admitted never meeting the woman but claimed he has spoken to ‘a group of African American’ women who are
her friends and believe she was mistreated.

Denial: The woman, whose identity we have protected, rejected the claims

‘They said she was removed from her position and the political scene because Michelle got wind of the fact that she had a close friendship with her husband,’ the source said. ‘She disappeared, then she reappeared in the Caribbean.’

The Mail on Sunday located the woman in the Caribbean, where she now works. She denied that Mrs Obama had raised any objections to her job on the 2004 campaign.
