could not have written it better

Story of the night: MICHELLE OBAMA CANNOT HIDE HER CONTEMPT OF HILLARY. If looks could kill . . .

Well, Hillary is giving more of a substantive speech than anyone else so far. Advocates women's right and gay rights. Subtly promotes expanded immigration.

Michelle Obama still wants to kill her.

Could she have mentioned Barack Obama any less? Geez. She's mentioned McCain maybe twice. I think she's only mentioned Obama four or five times.

This really is not a well delivered speech. But she's boosting the number of references of Obama.

Hillary just reminded people of the Clinton years. Clinton sits back and beams ear to ear. The crowd goes nuts. Michelle Obama scowls.

"He'll end the war" and "he'll have a terrific partner in Michelle Obama." Michelle visibly must remind herself to smile. Whoa. She really hates Hillary.

Could the applause for Joe Biden in Hillary's speech have been any less enthusiastic?

It's 11:04 p.m. and Hillary is on the 19th amendment and the right of women to vote, thereby sending code to the PUMAs to keep fighting.

Hillary Translator Fight on women. Fight on. Ignore the whole "elect Barack" stuff. Fight on for your rights.

Hillary is fired up now. "In America there is no chasm to great . . . no ceiling too high" [except for women who are being shut out of the White House].

Geez. She threw in the essentials for Obama. She knocked McCain. But the speech was littered with so many references to glass ceilings and women's rights, I find it hard to believe she is really committed to Obama. And Michelle looked like she could kill Hillary the entire time.
what did Michelle Obama say at the end? Her lips looked like "I hate that . . . ." Holy cow! (I kid. Her looks killed. Her lips didn't move . . . much. It did look like she said "I hate" something)

There was no real praise for Barack Obama in that speech, btw. There was nothing in there. She did not praise him at all.

Juicy

The DNC deliberately moved the keynote speech from Mark Warner up because Warner refused to attack John McCain.

This is a joke right, yup narcissistic would be the word. False god imagery abound, it will be hard not to laugh.

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's big speech on Thursday night will be delivered from an elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple.

The stage, similar to structures used for rock concerts, has been set up at the 50-yard-line, the midpoint of Invesco Field, the stadium where the Denver Broncos' National Football League team plays.

Some 80,000 supporters will see Obama appear from between plywood columns painted off-white, reminiscent of Washington's Capitol building or even the White House, to accept the party's nomination for president.

# HillaryforTexas Says:
August 27th, 2008 at 2:40 am

From a commenter elsewhere, this sums up Obama nicely:

Obama has rung a bell of deceit and dishonor and disloyalty that simply cannot be unrung.

They are finally getting it.

love this line

Hillary did what Hillary had to do in her speech at the Pepsi Center, and not an iota more. As Marc Antony said at Caesar’s funeral, she did not come to praise Obama, she came to bury him.

Obama camp mulls shortened roll call
By: Amie Parnes and Ben Smith
August 26, 2008 07:59 PM EST
politico.com

The Obama campaign is considering an abbreviated roll call Wednesday that would allow Democratic convention delegates in Hillary Rodham Clinton’s strongest states to support her — and is mulling a plan to let delegates vote by secret ballot, according to those familiar with the planning.

The shortened roll call, which would avoid a time-consuming state-by-state canvass, would be quickly followed by a motion for all the delegates to nominate Barack Obama for president by acclamation or, under another scenario, secret balloting. The deal could be announced as early as Tuesday night, the Democratic sources said.

Clinton, who spent the day planning for Tuesday night’s prime-time convention address, has said she would vote for Obama on the first ballot, but the senator has told delegates from her home state of New York that they were free to make their own decisions.

The Clinton campaign, represented by aides Cheryl Mills and Minyon Moore, have been in talks with the Obama team since both camps agreed last week to permit Clinton’s name to be entered in nomination.

But the decisions are being made by Obama’s campaign, led by campaign manager David Plouffe, largely without consultation, Clinton aides said.

On Fox News Tuesday, former Clinton communications director Howard Wolfson, who’s still close to the former first lady, bridled when asked about ongoing “negotiations” over the vote.

“It is not a deal, and it is really not negotiations,” he said. “There are conversations and good dialogue. But at the end of the day, this is going to be Sen. Obama's decision. ... It is not a negotiation. This is Sen. Obama's show.”

Clinton’s staff is “waiting to hear from the Obama campaign on what the exact configuration will be,” said a person familiar with the negotiations.

An Obama spokesman would only say that the mechanics of the vote were still being worked out.
