Barack Obama Throws Change Under The Bus

Update: Our short, initials, reaction: B.O. + O/B = BOOB
——————————————————————

Once again Barack Obama proves his lack of judgement, experience, and decency. Barack Obama is not qualified to be president.

Big Media tool Barack Obama has finally made a decision and chosen Big Media favorite Joe Biden to join the Chicago circus. Biden is an experience patch on the flat tire of experience which is Barack Obama. This deflated tire won’t roll.

* * *

Celestial choirs sang this morning because Hillary Clinton was spared the pestilence of even being considered seriously by the Chicago thugs for membership in their circus. Hillary Clinton and Hillary Clinton supporters were insulted once again. But we are happy about this latest insult. This latest Obama insult confirms once again our view of Obama and makes our opposition much easier. NObama. NOvember.

Once again, with Obama the jokes write themselves. The McCain campaign will illustrate the silliness of the Biden in full very soon.

To no one’s surprise Change Is Now Under The Bus:

The candidate of change went with the status quo.

In picking Sen. Joe Biden to be his running mate, Barack Obama sought to shore up his weakness — inexperience in office and on foreign policy — rather than underscore his strength as a new-generation candidate defying political conventions.

He picked a 35-year veteran of the Senate — the ultimate insider — rather than a candidate from outside Washington, such as Govs. Tim Kaine of Virginia or Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas; or from outside his party, such as Sen. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska; or from outside the mostly white male club of vice presidential candidates. Hillary Rodham Clinton didn’t even make his short list.

The picks say something profound about Obama: For all his self-confidence, the 47-year-old Illinois senator worried that he couldn’t beat Republican John McCain without help from a seasoned politician willing to attack. The Biden selection is the next logistical step in an Obama campaign that has become more negative — a strategic decision that may be necessary but threatens to run counter to his image.[snip]

So the question is whether Biden’s depth counters Obama’s inexperience — or highlights it?

After all, Biden is anything but a change agent, having been in office longer than half of all Americans have been alive. Longer than McCain. [snip]’

And there’s the 2007 ABC interview in which Biden said he would stand by an earlier statement that Obama was not ready to serve as president.

It seems Obama is worried that some voters are starting to agree.

When Obama touted his strongest experience in foreign relations as being a six year old child living abroad Biden made a funny. Remember:

TERRY MORAN: So let’s talk about experience, which you talk about a lot. You said recently that the strongest experience you have in foreign relations is that you grew up for four years as a child in Southeast Asia.

SEN. BARACK OBAMA: Well, that’s not exactly what I said. What I said was I think one of the things that sets me apart is that I spent time in other countries.

No, Barack, that is exactly what you said:Probably the strongest experience I have in foreign relations is the fact that I spent four years living overseas when I was a child in southeast Asia.”

Terry Moran could have easily quoted ABC News’ own published reports to contradict Obama, but we suppose Terry does not read his own network’s reports.

If Terry does not watch or read his own networks reports, he could have watched CNN which had this amusing comment from Senator Joe Biden when Obama’s foolish statement first aired:

Biden, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, also joined the fray Tuesday afternoon when asked what he thought of Obama’s comments.

“I think he’s right,” Biden said smiling. “That is his strongest [foreign policy] credential.”

Biden has all but called Obama a liar. Remember:

On October 13, 2007 we wrote the appropriately titled Stinky B.O.. We highlighted, repeatedly, something Senator Biden said about Barack Obama and Obama’s whining and lying about the Kyl/Lieberman non-binding resolution:

I wonder why he wasn’t there to vote,” Biden said. “We all knew that this vote was coming up.”

Let’s repeat that, yet again, so it sinks in:

“I wonder why he wasn’t there to vote,” Biden said. “We all knew that this vote was coming up.”

Maybe Joe can get the answer to that question for the American voter. Obama attacked Hillary because she bothered to vote. Obama skipped town. Obama did not even bother to vote “present”.

Obama lied about why he did not vote on Kyle-Lieberman. Will Joe Biden call Obama out on his lies?

Joe, say it ain’t so.

  1. There is so much fodder here, admin, you need a dozen posts to cover it all.

I am still laughing this morning at just how badly precious has stepped in the shit with this choice. He just got through telling us that he never would have appointed Clarence Thomas to SCOTUS, then he picks as VP the man who PUT HIM THERE!

    What an idiot.

  2. So far today i’ve heard

  3. This morning I am reminded of the 70’s diaster spoof movie The Big Bus.
It was a nuclear pwered bus going non-stop from NYC to Denver. Appropos?

  4. Poor Richardson. I guess he could not be vetted, and could not bring in the vote.

How many others sold their souls think it might be them. Maybe we should send them flowers.

  5. I said this last night, but I’m going to repeat it because I think it’s such damned good advice:

With all the gameshow, celebrity drama (and anti-climax) of Obama’s veep announcenment, McCain should come immediately out this morning, and in no-nonsense fashion, announce: “It’s Portman. Have a nice day.”

  6. i purposely came to the blog to read the news, even though I knew I had a breaking news email, and it was up as a headline. I just wanted to hear it here first, as I respect this blog so much.

    You had it nailed yesterday.

  7. If memory serves, I was the first one to call Biden. (feel free to check the records)

    What do I win? 😉

  8. Idunn, I agree. McCain should announce his pick in the most no-nonsense way possible, just as a contrast. He’ll look like the serious adult, not an American Idol contestant.

  9. Idunn
don’t you think it may be more effective to do it during the convention. Perhaps even spoofing the embarassing media display of the last 24 hours?

  10. I would, Henry…except that it think the more dismissive, snarkier response would be to just announce, very pointedly, like a common sense, regular guy.

  11. I think McCain should spoof the 3 am thing.

“Obama finally decided to pick up the phone at 3 am. And he picked it up to call an old experienced Washington hand. Is this leadership we can count on?”

  12. Great article admin!

So I’m assuming, by process of elimination, Biden carried the least offensive baggage for a vp?

    LOL…that’s not saying much. 😉

  13. I figure Biden was not first choice at all. I still reckon it was Edwards and hell maybe Biden wasnt even second choice.

  14. LOL!

    Good morning all!

LOVE this! Admin…we are going to have fun!

Uppity Woman and RBO both have great campaign posters up too! 😉

But ya know….listening to Jessica Yelin’s report, does anyone else notice the tone of the report? Ah, for the day…

No CNN LOVE FEST in that report. Guess they had not yet gotten the bribe, um….memo that BO was “the One”

  15. A NY1 snap poll, done in New York City among some of the most liberal voters in America, just revealed that one in five New Yorkers think Joe Biden-Biden’s selection will hurt the Democratic ticket, and another one third feel that adding him to the Democratic ticket did nothing helpful.

  16. Sen. Joe Biden (“I WOULD LET THE TAX CUTS FOR ALL OF THE MIDDLE CLASS LAPSE”)

Thats going to come back and bite him on the ass.

  17. NMF – the high bar of low expectations on the McCain prediction. They will push that hard and anything less with be “Obama fails to seal the deal – again”

  18. As the elections slips away from the Dems, they have no one to blame but themselves. It is obvious that the Reps can work this for all it is worth.

    1. Biden is a nice guy, but it bring little or no excitment to the ticket when they are fading.

    2. It does provide experience, but since O does not take advice, I am not sure what good it does.

    3. It does not target any of the groups he needs help with. Do you think older women will vote as Biden says?

    4. He comes with baggage as He Actually voted many times

    5. Well SDs he thumbed his nose at you, how does that feel. I hope the money and promises were with it. It is obviously he will treat you like SHxT

WELL IT SHOWS BAD JUDGEMENT AGAIN. YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO COMPROIMISE, AND WORK WITH THE PEOPLE YOU DON’T LIKE TO GET IT DONE.

OBAMA CANNOT COMPROMISE AND GET IT DONE.

  19. Norma,

After the “high expectations” game Obama’s people played with Hillary’s wins, I’m going to enjoy having the tables turned on him.

    He’s such a weasil!

  20. I woke up this morning and just felt RELIEF it wasn’t Hillary. Then…I laughed my ass off.

    Goodbye, Bambi. hahahahahaahaha

  21. NMF, I figured his big fat ego would never let him pick Hill, even if he knew it was the only sane choice.

That is a SCARY trait in a leader – ego and personal pride getting in the way of good judgement.

    O CAN NOT COMPROMISE
O CAN NOT MAKE IT HAPPEN
O CAN NOT WIN FOR THE DEMS

    DON’T BLOW IT.

  24. Amen! ARE YOU LISTENING, SUPERDELEGATES??? Are you going to get some spine and do the right thing, or follow Dean and Pelosi over this cliff????

  25. I still think Hillary turned him down a long time ago. I bet his ego took a huge nosedive when it happened.

Since then he has been vetting one candidate after another until there were very few choices left.

In the meantime, Hillary can sit back, do the nation’s work, and watch everything unravel.

  26. Jan, you are likely right. Biden may have been the only one with an ego big enough to blind him to the risk. I’ll bet everyone else said, “Are you CRAZY??!! No way am I taking VP!”

  27. Meg Whitman, former CEO of eBay, would be another great pick for McCain. He mentioned her at the Faith Forum.

  28. Comments from BO camp

By Deborah from Oakland, CA Aug 23rd 2008 at 4:37 am EDT (Updated Aug 23rd 2008 at 4:37 am EDT)
I think it’s really sad and scary that so many here are calling for an “attack dog.” Obama was calling for real change, a clean honest campaign with real issues. Are Americans so low brow that they need to have a mud fight to respect someone? I’m sad. I hope Biden doesn’t say anything stupid that will undercut the message of hope I’ve believed in.

By Douglas from Avon, NY 32 minutes ago (Updated 32 minutes ago)
I’m very sad. I had thought Barack was different, all his talk about the need for change.

Now, with Biden, we get the same old same old. I think this may be the single stupidest think Barack has done, maybe in his whole life!

    Go McCain! I’m done here.

  29. By Andrea from Sylmar, CA 8 minutes ago (Updated 8 minutes ago)
Come on guys…Joe Biden my not be everyone’s first choice, but it’s Sen. Obama’s choice. I’ve been a Democrat for years, vote every time and try to stay up on the issues as best I can. This is not the worse thing Mr. Obama could’ve done. I think the best thing we can do is hang in there with our candidate, instead of pouting ,kicking dirt and running out of the room. You can best believe the Republicans will suck it up and get behind their candidate no matter how reprehensible he is to large factions of their party because “they” want to win. We want to ‘win” too…once we do,maybe we can get the “Change we can believe in”

I can’t wait for the fall of the three stoges. They again repeated that Hillary will not be in the cabinet. Funny that they want everyone to know that with all the PUMA
    s converging on Denver?
    ————————————————————-

McCain should come out and say how well he and Hillary work together and would be honored to have Senator Clinton in his Cabinet.

  31. Good morning, Hillfriends! I’ve awakened this morning to learn that Barry has been drunk-dialing his friends in the wee small hours. Poor Barry, he’s confused again. No one was questioning his ability to MAKE a call at 3AM!

    🙂

  32. Jan…one of my “sources” told me that Hillary told Obama not to ask her back whrn they had the “secret meeting”

don’t know how true this was, but (s)he is a BIG Clinton bundler

  33. Great news, Norma.

Also, Obama basically shafted and scammed his extra-special BFF’s just to get their cell numbers.

    Typical.

We are all for positive, a new kind of politics….Obama has epitomised this for over 2 years throughout this campaign…even at risk to his own prospects at times. What you gotta appreciate is that there are limits to how far we can do this and WIN….and if we dont WIN, all the high brow diplo-speak will simply dissipate into the ether and another generation will be condemned to another 8 years of neocon, neofascist, idiot authoritarian rule……WE CANNOT TAKE THAT RISK !!! Unfortunately they are millions of what are euphemisticly called “low imformation voters”….no they are dumb asses, ignorant, xenophobic, citizens who rely on instincts because their critical thinking capacity has been so dulled or undeveloped that they are readily susceptable to all manner of emotional base appeals…which the repuglicans have been manipulating for decades. The democrats have ignored this to their utter peril. The dumming down of our educational system; our idiot box TV, videos and all the other stimuli that program stupidity into the collective consciousness…is a REALITY. I want to WIN. Obama can be as high road as he wants when he gets in office…..for right now….do whatever the hell it takes TO WIN.

  36. The best thing Bide-NO-Bama spent 3 million dollars sending out that dumbass text, i mean that could have been spent wiser. Actually its a disgrace. Fuckwits.

  37. Wouldn’t I die of laughter if it turned out Biden owned more than one mansion!! LOL!

I’m gonna try to find out if he does.

  38. My personal favourite is still The Batman and Robinette Show, I mean what crappy parent gives their male child the middle name of Robinette.

  39. Should obama get the nomination and then is unable to run for whatever reason does Biden then become the nominee?

  41. Good Morning Informed in Illinois. I tried to respond quicker but got suspended again.

So I wonder what Illinois thinks of this selection?

Maybe this was his way of throwing in the towel and releasing his SDs.

I imagine the Reps do see the Dems going over the cliff at this point, even if the Dems cannot see it.

  42. I like Biden but not at BO’s vp..
    hillary’s sec, of state!!!!

  44. In keeping with all the hillarity here today we have updated the front page post with our “initials” reaction.

    BO + OB = Boob

  45. I think we should just refer to Biden

    as either

    Babysitter Biden

    Obama’s waitress

  47. Obama is a gimmick and everything he do is a gimmick too….who would send so much money on this BFF “who will be my VP” call…unless it was to get cell phone numbers that the DNC want in their database.

BIG LET DOWN for those under 40’s, it will be a pleasure to see McCain beat Obama, a pleasure.

    Where’s Pelosi?

Obama left her high and dry with that V.P. pick, it seems like Harry Reid has Obama ear now. Nancy is TOAST and she voluntarily threw herself under the bus.

I don’t think the Dems will be able to hold the Senate if Obama is the head of the ticket.

  48. NewMexicoFan, deadly stuff there. Did you think of adding nla” and making it Obama Binladen? Wonder if the wunderkind in Chicago thought of that.

  51. I really think he has signaled he has thrown in the towel with this selecton.

I wish I was a fly on the wall in Denver.

You can feel the wind coming out of his young base.

    HILLARY RISING.

  52. Obama may want to lay off the houses ad. His new BFF Joe said this:

“Rich folks are as patriotic as poor folks.”
    blogs.unionleader.com/andrew-cline/?p=986

  53. btw, i think it is hilarious all those morons who were suckered into giving away their cell phone numbers to the DNC database. they were had in a big way.

  54. Unbelievable! Biden is an ok guy I guess. But the only memorable thing about him in the primaries was his one liner about Giuliani. He brings absolutely nothing to the ticket- Delaware isn’t exactly a swing state. He voted for the Iraq War resolution, and he made a much harsher case against BO’s inexperience than HRC did. This is such a huge opening for the McCain campaign if they go with a really exciting, dynamic pick like Meg Whitman.

  55. So he has just nulified the age crap, as if something happened to him, he would be replaced by someone he has defined as very old. Any every agrument he uses on age again McCain applies to his VP. I would have thought that would have been one of his major strategies.

He has not gained any large state, or group out of this.

He has not energized his base, which was in bad need of it at this point.

I don’t think he pleased Pelosie, but I am unsure where Dean stands. He has not pleased the SDs as the vast majority wanted Hillary at this point.

SO I SEE AN OPEN CONVENTION, OR THIS PARTY IS REALLY FINISHED.

  56. and we all thought we were going to be tired listening to Obama, Biden is going to be worse, they are going to be outdoing each other for facetime on TV.

    O :No, its my turn

Instead you start making excuses for him when he is attacked. You presume to lecure us and to call people who disagree with you ignorant, zenopobic dumb asses. Perhaps some of them are Robert but their saving grace is they are not delusional cultish assholes like you Robert who think they are better than anyone else, and would have been in the front of the line at the Nurember rallies. So fuck you and the horse you rode in on.
    Nothing personal you understand.

  59. Idunn
Pretty much the same thing. He said he respects Joe Biden he is not there to diss him. This has to do with the illegitamacy of the selection process. Still hoping the 4% of supers will move to Hillary and thus she will be the nominee. Brought up the disproportionate allotment of delegates. Said waffles got more from Idaho than Hillary got from Ohio and Texas combined.
Cavuto asked if she does not get nom will he vote for Obama. He said we have four choices. McCain, write in Hillary, third party or stay home. Cavuto then repeatedly asked him or rather told him that he was angry to which Will eventually said yes.
He holds his gropund very well and didn’t allow Cavuto to run him over. He stated that people sitting at him will just see him as a sore loser. Sorry not more precise, but didn’t see your request til it was over.

  60. As others have said, Hillary probably did tell Obama early on that she wasn’t interested in VP. And that’s why she wasn’t even vetted.

And I find it easy to believe Biden wasn’t even his first choice after that.

  61. I still don’t get it. You build up all this excitement for this??? Biden has been rumored as the front-runner for days anyway.

  62. Idunn
    My pleasure.
I think it is beyond pathetic that the news organizations are camped outside of bidens family compound and do a live feed of the front of a house. Sad.

  63. There’s a lot a quiet coming out of the DNC…it’s surprising how little Pelosi has been in the news in the last 48hrs.

The Democratic Leadership is going to half to take responsibility and accountability of this mess.

At this point I don’t know if Hillary can bring a win for the Democratic? Taliban Party. I do believe she is the only one who have a chance to beat McCain after all the damage Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi, Donna Brazille, John Kennedy, Ted Kennedy, Bill Richardson, John Edwards, Jesse Jackson jr., Jim Clyburn and the rest of those idiots including “The One.”

New Democratic Coallition is just another name for Stevenson, McGovern, Dukakis and Mondale.

  64. Idunn
forget to mention that he drew parallells between Bush and Obama. Adding that waffles would be the third bush term and not McCain.

  65. carbynew
I think you have to avoid exposure to sunlight after a botox treatment and I am sure she got a touch up pre-convention.

  66. They could only ask a Superior Women to Clean up this mess.

And frankly, at this point, I am not sure she should agree to do that.

  67. For once I think I will watch MSNBC on Sunday-Monday, it will be very interesting to get Chris Matthews take.

  70. He has to do whatever it takes to get voted in and then he can take the high road?????

    WTH???????????????????

So in other words he can continue his pillaging, his lying, his cheating, his discriminating, robbing, garbage-mouth tactics just so long as he kepts to twirl in the oval office chair???

I’m going to throw up! This type of justification just screams of lunacy!

  71. NMF,

    It’s at NQ.

    2nd post down.

BE SURE to READ the BO letter to radio stations! i tried to copy but no can do coz it’s pdf and won’t convert to text for me.

  72. I do agree that obama undercut his message of change and that outweighs the perceived advantage of shoring up his foreign policy experience. Also, to your question Turndownobama that explains whey soros likes him. Also I believe they had the same goals re, bosnia and probably worked together. They share the globalist view. I do not see Biden as invested in the future of the middle class.

The stupid build up to this thing is offensive to anyone with an IQ above room temperature–which excludes Campbell Brown. For many of us it was like that magic moment when Geraldo opened the vault, except Biden jumped out with a second banana costume, and the fine print read his real name is Joseph Robinette Soretto.

  73. Here another take on why Obama choose Biden.

    What Drew Obama to Biden?
    themoderatevoice.com/politics/vice-president/22007/what-drew-obama-to-biden/

  74. Henry–I agree with you about Will Bower. This Cavuto is a complete jackass. He has consistentl tried to denigrate our movement. And least now that repeating record can stop asking whether we would support the ticket if Hillary is the vp.

  75. Jan: I guess they mean: The end justifies the means. I have heard that from hopium addicts, at various times during the campaign. Like BO is going to magically change, if he makes it to the oval office. I think not.

What a disaster. Biden will not pull in, any additional groups.

  76. birdgal,

In reality this is another strike against Obama for the history books.

Aren’t there supposed to be some videos coming out this week at the convention regarding caucus cheating? LOL…I can’t wait!

  77. Obama plays it safe and proves he’s an insider who never really believed in change
by Tony Rhodin for The Tony Rhodin Blog

    AP Photo
Here’s your safe ticket from the Democratic Party: phony change agent Barack Obama and longtime Washington insider Joe Biden.Barack Obama chooses Joe Biden to be his running mate. Here’s their new slogan: “Change you can’t believe in.”
I always figured Obama for being an old-time Chicago pol and this choice proves it. Biden, for all his impressive foreign policy background, is a longtime Washington insider.

I always figured Obama’s beautiful change rhetoric was just a cynical political play, and this just proves it. How can a guy who’s going to change Washington as we know it do so with a guy who’s been a senator since the age of 29?

A woman, another minority, an outsider? No. That would have been change.

It shows that Obama alone had no chance to beat a weak Republican in John McCain in a Democratic year. For all the talk, there was a real weakness in the Democratic candidate and he proved it with his VP pick. I know it’s all about winning, but when you create a candidacy based on a certain set of fresh ideas, you expect something more. As Robert Redford’s character, who went from idealist to politician inside a few months, asks toward the end of the 1972 film “The Candidate”: “What do we do now?” I guess the safe, if cynical answer is: pick Joe Biden.

Let’s refine that slogan: “A couple of Washington insiders you can’t believe in.”

To all those democrats who listen to Obama words only and not his Actions…get use to Obama’s flip flops.

Obama doesn’t want to be a change unit, he want to be an insider. It was never about change it was about power and ambition but never change.

How would Obama know about change when he comes out of one of the most corrupt political machine in this country.: Chicago Dailey machine. Obama the agent of change….please he’s the agent of insider behind close door machine politics.

  78. Hillary probably got more votes this year than Obama and Biden combined. Larry Sabato estimates Biden received 9,500 votes this year.

At least Biden fills up the 1% of pomposity Obama is missing.

  79. For many of us it was like that magic moment when Geraldo opened the vault, except Biden jumped out with a second banana costume

To quote Monty Python, “And there was great rejoicing. yaay.”

  80. Geraldine Ferraro mentioned PUMA on cavuto. Said they are angry and that Jackson had the chance to address his supporters during thier convention.

  81. henry,

    it’s an american issuse ad.

    here’s the text.
The full script of the ad follows below:
    Narrator:
“Beyond the speeches, how much do you know about Barack Obama?
    What does he really believe?
    Consider this:
United 93 never hit the Capitol on 9/11.
But the Capitol was bombed thirty years before –
By an American terrorist group called Weather Underground that declared ‘war’ on the U.S. –
Targeting the Capitol, the Pentagon, police stations and more.
One of the group’s leaders, William Ayers, admits to the bombings, proudly saying later:
    ‘We didn’t do enough.’
Some members of the group Ayers founded even went on to kill police.
But Barack Obama is friends with Ayers, defending him as, quote,
    ‘Respectable’ and ‘Mainstream.’
Obama’s political career was launched in Ayers’ home.
And the two served together on a left-wing board.
Why would Barack Obama be friends with someone who bombed the Capitol…and is proud of it?
Do you know enough to elect Barack Obama?
American Issues Project is responsible for the content of this ad.”
    About American Issues Project

  82. I am sticking with Romney. Meg Whitman and Carli Fonni have compelling stories to tell. But I am not sure they have the political credentials to be taken seriously in the political realm. We shall what happens.

At some point kids like Robert (if he is not a kid he is a case of arrested development) have got to wake up and see they have been sold a bill of goods by bambi. He will throw them under the bus as well after they give him what he wants which is their vote. Chicago machine will spread like the aids virus dometically and Soros will set foreign policy and the media will lie for him. And critical thinkers like Robert never had the courage to ask what Bambi meanat by change. When you move beyond words to action, you realize that change means things like . . . . Biden–and if that isnt a new heaven and a new earth then praytell what is.

ABM 90: Poopsie would have been better off with a taxidermist. That permanent smile grates on me. And it will seem out of place when if bambi gets in and we end up in a depression. You might say it will seem a bit goulish.

  83. This man has no shame, nor does he have any have a clue about the decision he just made. He just put the last nail on his political career. His arrogance and mistreatment of Hillary and her supporters will be the death of the Democratic party. He trashes Hillary for voting for the war, yet he picls a VP who did just that. He piles on Hillary for being in Washington too long, yet he picks perhaps the most senior democrat in Washington (37 years). He talks about change and the ways of Washington insiders, yet he goes with Biden….can somebody explain to me how this can be interpreted as “change’?

I am actually glad he didn’t pick Hillary..I didn’t wanna have an excuse to vote for this clown. My god..I can’t even stand to see this guy on my tv set..I literally have to switch the channel. My only regret is that I can only vote for McCain once!!

  84. As noted in the article Biden is a Big Media favorite. Biden appears constantly on NBC’s Meet The Press. More evidence of Big Media influence:

    http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0808/Biden.html?showall

Bill Nichols has our story on Biden’s choice, including one factor that Biden’s well aware of, but which I haven’t heard all that much about: “The press wants me in this thing,” he told donors last year.

You can find all of this blog’s Joe Biden coverage from the primary, which was kind of fun to look back on, here.

  85. basil9
    thankyou
I am fimiliar with that one.
He wants it pulled? Truth hurts.
What I find interesting is that big media keeps dismissing the number of dems that will never vote for waffles. Do they not relaize that each of us who have spent the last year reading/blogging/working for Senator Clinton are sharing the massive amount of information with our friends/families et al. Who remain silent but are now informed and will not vote for bambi under any circumstances. I am one of five and my family has a long history of voting dem, but not thios year. And that includes my black and hispanic cousins.

  86. Moononpluto,

My hands-down favorite is “Bambi and Thumper, 2008.” It’s easy, it conjures up an image from a video that everyone has seen, and it fits the image. Actually, “Thumper” is better for Joe Biden than “Bambi” is for “Obama,” other than the obvious play on words. Bambi is a sympathetic character in the Disney movie. Obama is cold, aloof, arrogant, and rude.

  87. Terrible choice, totally insulting to Hillary. Short list indeed. The man’s arrogance knows no bounds.

If Obama is elected Hillary’s nest chance will be in 12 years! She cant run against an incumbent Dem and as Mccain is shwoing trying to go for 12 years in the WH is an uphill battle.

Unless we can snatch the convention from Obama this is over, folks. Lets get off our duffs and agitate!

Best chance: run against a retiring McCain in ’12! But then ya gotta make sure he wins!

  88. Last night on Neal Cavuto there was an interview with a Hillary delegate who said she will vote for Hillary for president and fight to make Hillary the vice president. Today Cavuto is interviewing another delegate who says he will vote for Hillary.

Ricki Lieberman is reminding everyone that state laws are still relevant and Hillary delegates still have to vote for Hillary at the convention.

  89. Hillary supporters.

The choice is not about Obama’s VP nor is it about color.

It is about the best person for the job.

    Over the past two months,

Obama has ignored you and your issues with him.

He doesn’t understand that it wasn’t about HIllary,

    It was about Obama’s issues

    of trust,

    dividing the party,

    ignoring you,

and being hateful to Hillary and her supporters.

Republicans know that you are NOT racist for supporting Hillary.

    You should feel NO guilt.

But, the writing is on the wall.

Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean, and especially, Obama,

say they do NO LONGER need you!!!!!!!!!

    they cannot win without you.

They have taken you for granted long enough.

The Democratic Party proved that it is sexist.

    Don’t give Obama your vote

When he says he doesn’t need you.

We need proven leadership behind which we can unite America

    for the coming tough times.

    Obama is NOT qualified.

  90. Idunn: Some people will eat that up. BO’s campaign is trying to get the ad pulled. I hope it takes awhile.

  91. Taylor Marsh whom I thought a lot of during the Hillary campaign has *totally* gone to the dark side now. In responding to a Hillary supporter who posted about the DNC, Taylor had this insane rant:”

    Chevalier | 08.23.2008 – 09:32 am | #

How the DNC has treated *you*. Here’s a news flash for you: NOBODY CARES.

This country and the direction we need to head in is far more important that petty primary grievances.

I have *no* respect for anyone putting themselves before country. None.

My words stand. They’re accurate, even kind considering the stakes.
    TaylorMarsh | Homepage | 08.23.2008 – 09:36 am | #

Exxxcccuuussse me, Taylor, but I and those still supporting Hillary Clinton who are denouncing, rejecting, and repudiating all the drama and hatred for Hillary and us expounded by the Obamanationals and now YOU, have put our COUNTRY first!!

We have taken matters into our own hands and will take many actions, but one action for absolute CERTAIN is that we will not EVER support Obama especially after his choice of a long, long time establishment insider who is just as arrogant, elite, and lacking in judgment as the “One,” and his action to brush Hillary off his shoulders by not even pretending to vette her has sealed his deal for us.

As of this date, I will actively campaign for John McCain just as hard as I did Hillary Clinton. I have also already joined HillPac. I will work hard to promote those candidates who supported Hillary and John McCain and I will work equally hard to defeat those candidates who had no “respect” or “kind” words or actions for Hillary and Bill Clinton, which also means that if Obama manages to steal the general election the way he and the RBC/DNC did the nomination, then I will vote a straight Republican ticket with the exception of Hillary and the candidates who supported Hillary and did not try to destroy Bill. And for those who blame Hillary and Hillary supporters for Obama’s failure to seal the deal – you are acting so much like my abusive [former] husband who projected all his shortcomings onto me and with such hate, violence, and fury that I may never live to get over it. It is scary, very scary.

I personally left the Party system behind because it was so bought by obscene amounts of $$$$$ by special interests, and the undemocratic Democratic Party has insanely set about almost purposely, it would seem, to lose election after election, even this one that was theirs to lose. I have encouraged others to do the same. Country and the character of the candidate first has been my mantra for a long time now, and others as well. The two party system has failed John Q. and Jane Public time and time again.

If the American woman does not stand up and become a cohestive group demanding political reform and NOW – then when? It is now or never.

I am a registered Independent voter in FL. I will not forget those who voted me half a person – neither will I forget the horse they rode in on. There is not enough gold in Fort Knox for Obama to buy my vote. If he really wants it, he and Biden must get it the old fashioned way – they must EARN it.

    We will REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!!!

  92. Well, if Taylor has no respect for anyone who puts themselves above country…

What the hell does she think Obama has been doing all along? Gosh her brain cells must really be getting a workout these days…NOT!

  93. %$%$%^@! The program won’t let me copy so here are some highlights from the letter.

A group called the American Issues Project has approached your station too buy time for an ad called “Know Enough.”. . . It associates Barrack Obama, a United States Senator and the presumptive candidate for president with terrorists and m and Acts of terror…..

This is an appalling lie and a disgraceful smear . .

Your station is committed to acting in the public interest, an objective that cannot be
Satisfied by accepting for compensation material of such malicious falsity . . .

Accepting such an ad is inconsistent with FCC Regulations

There is no AIP registered with the FCC or the IRS . . . . . .

The name is a front to hide the sponsors of their malicious attack. . . .

The FCC does not permit shadowy front groups to claim sponsorship of political
    Advertising. . . .

    ..

  94. LOL…Basil they are really running scared. I doubt very much that the American Issues Project didn’t cross all their i’s and dot all there t’s before doing this. Unlike Obama’s goons who don’t even know the meaning. 😉

  95. It associates Barrack Obama, a United States Senator and the presumptive candidate for president with terrorists and Acts of terror…..

Uh…so he admits his buddy Bill is a terrorist?

  96. JanH,

So true, so true. Obama is so stiff-necked, arrogant, and proud that even his ambition doesn’t tell him to put Hillary Clinton and 18,000,000 votes on the ticket in order to win. Amazing. JFK had more sense than that when he put Lyndon Johnson on the ticket, a man he didn’t like, but who helped him in critical areas like the South. He won by the thinnest of margins. Obama can’t win now. McCain has a history of working with both sides of the aisle. Obama can’t even work with his own party. Neither can Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean, and Donna Brazile.

  97. Too late because that video has already made the rounds on the internet and t.v.

Message received loud and clear! 🙂

  98. One of Larry Johnson’s sources sent him this e-mail on what awaits Batman and Robinette:

But there is a very strange air about Republican operatives. In the last three weeks, I’ve talked to real insiders in VA, GA, AL and here. They all remind me of a unit waiting to cross the line of departure on an attack. Quiet, determined, last cigarette, last “can of peaches out of the ration,” radio checks, confident. They all use the term “safely nominated” when referring to Obama. That is weird.

  99. mariaconz,

He was too scared to add Hillary to the mix. She would out-speak him, out-shine him, out-truth him, and definitely put him to shame.

  100. Hi everyone, had to log back in to post this — phew, what drama. I am happy it is not Hillary. Now our mission is to defeat these bastards soundly with a “I told you so” so that Hillary can come back in 2012 without much damage to her career (because they will make it all about her when we lose and we should resist (and protect) her as it were from all the bs.)

As for McCain, I think if he picks Meg Whitman and adopts Princess O’s change mantra by saying with his VP pick he is showing it is no longer the same old in Washington with old Washington insiders, Princess O is further toast. A successful CEO from the dotcom era with mega insights into globalization as his partner in making the economy better will work wonders.

  101. Admin
Didn’t realize that the video would show up on the site . feel free to delete my post. (but I do love the line — “If you change your mind”)
Is that new I have posted links before and the youtube thingy didn’t show up?

  102. Henry, I LOVED it. ABBA is always welcome. It was the only bright spot on an otherwise shitty morning so far.

  103. JanH
I believe that repeated utterances of the phrase “All is well” is actually a therapeutic technique for those that have had excessive plastic surgery. On one hand it serves as a self hypnosis and on the other hand it excercises what is left of the natural facial muscles.

  104. Jan H
I need an advil. That was really annoying.
Someone earlier here postulated that Biden was one of the original Chipmunks and that Theodore relaced him. Sorry cant remember who unearthed that gem or I would attribute.

  105. Are you sure Obama is not a Republican?

At this point, I’m not even sure he’s black. OR a man.
    ———————————————
I think there is a group of globalists who do not care which party is in office as long as their policies are implemented. That is what this primary is really about. All the cheating and all the conspiracies can be traced to that. If you can displace Roosevelt principles with free market principles then you can continue with your overall plan to consolidate the global market place and vest critical decisions in the hands of international bodies. Our national govenment becomes over time the mirror image of the Chiacago Combine. Interparty conflict is minimized and both parties work together in perfect harmony to bilk taxpayers. The reason that happens is because the same puppeteers pull the strings of both parties. And the only thing that gets lost in the process is the voice of the American People and the downheared frail who needs health care or needs help.

    REQUIEM TO JOE BIDEN

    Just a giggalo
    Everywhere I go
    People know
    The party I’m playing

    Paid for every dance
    Selling each romance
    Everynight
    Some heart betraying

    There will come a day
    Youth will pass away
    Then what will they say
    About him

    When he end comes
    I know they’ll say
    Just a giggalo
    As the Senate goes on
    Without him

  106. Okay I am 41 but can never ever recall anything as grossly pathetic as what is happenning on TV at this moment. They are following everystep as he leaves his home. Can someone tell me why? And fox why fox? Major garett got the first leak. Was there a deal struck? The front of his house is not news.

  107. Nanny Joe is a sell out really, he knows this is his last shot at the glory and sold his soul to get there.

  108. Jan: I’m with Henry. I couldn’t watch the whole thing. LOL. Just like, I have difficulty listening to waffles.

  109. To all you bots who waited for your text message from the holy one thiis mornin’: we all knew last night: nannie nannie boo boo

  110. Bottem line, I think this whole fiasco was about taking Hillary and the Clintons out. Someone early morning said it was about preserving the New England/Kennedy legacy. I pray there are enough supers who can see where they are taking us.

  111. Birdgal: they got face unpinnin’ and combin’ places in the mile high city. We should tip fox news and they could stake one out

  112. Well, now we know why Biden got so many flowers yesterday, he was the only one that would take the job, and the Chicago Mob was grateful!

  113. Riverdaughter has a new post up: “Archie Biden.”

    riverdaughter.wordpress.com/2008/08/23/archie-biden/#comments

  114. Pelosi just has a great big bolt on the back of her head, when she needs a lift, she just tightens it in a notch, she almost has a beard now.

  115. I am torn.
Do i despise paloser more or obama?
Its a tough question, I know? But i feel like I need to make a decision.

  116. W and O, one and the same.

Although Obama has run his campaign almost completely as a reaction to the administration of one George W. Bush, the parallels between their campaigns are apparent.

    1. Bush ran against eight years of bad judgment and personality failures of the previous administration. Obama is doing the same.

    2. Bush ran as the one who could transcend partisan differences in Washington. So is Obama.

    3. Bush faced concerns about his misspent youth. So has Obama.

    4. Bush was believed to have done hard drugs. Obama has admitted it.

    5. Bush picked Dick Cheney to reassure voters about experience on the ticket and foreign policy gravitas. What do you suppose Obama just did?

  117. With all of the emphasis placed on wealth and homes, does anyone remember when Bill and Hillary had to use Camp David or the hospitality of friends to get away as they had no other holdings when he took office. They did not have a multimillion dollar home to go.

  118. Does Taylor realize Bambi has changed his position on Iraq? At one point in this descenct into delusion that was her reason to vote for any dem–what the hell I am tying to find a thead of consistency here when we all know there is none.

  119. TM’s response to the HRC supporter was completely uncalled for. as i said previously, the woman is insane.

  120. Just curious
when did you find yourself opposed to Obama?
I will answer first– it was the first time I heard him speak.

  121. The McCain Whitman ticket would be the best of all worlds but I see no way to make it work politically. I wish I could believe in it. I think it is the best thing that could happen and it might give Hillary some chance in 2012 but that is still a real longshot given the globalist control over the party and the opposition of big media. The thing that would really increase the odds for her would be a severe national crisis which would require the highest calibre of leadership rather than this self delusional crap we are seeing now.

  122. TM and the rest of the media are seeing their careers go down the drain with Obama.

That’s a shut out to Olberman and Matthews.

  123. Great post admin. The Biden pick doesn’t make ANYONE happy: the Obama-bots quietly groaned when it was announced and now they’re wearing fake smiles; swing voters and moderates don’t like Biden — he’s a darling of the chattering class but his presidential campaigns were disasters and his supposed “blue collar, lunch-pail appeal” never actually existed (check the poll numbers). Meanwhile, Republicans are licking their chops.

Best part is that makes the PUMA crowd’s job so much easier. This ticket is going to lose badly.

  124. when did you find yourself opposed to Obama?

When I wanted to learn more about the guy, and the first internet search I did brought me right to his ties with Daly and Tony Rezko.

  125. Moononpluto
that explains hollywoods infatuation with him. Fran drescher-spielberg-streisand all have jumped on the band wagon. And the academy award for best impersonation of a serious presidential candidate goes to….

  126. McCain clearly has Obama on the defensive and on the run (as proven by the panicky choice of Biden). McCain should stay on offense when he announces his VP next week. He should pick someone who delivers a key state (Ridge?)

  127. For the record, CNN broke the Biden story last night around 1 a.m. EST. John King broke it. I actually signed up for Obama’s text message thing, just to be able to see what a fiasco it would be, and sure enough they haven’t even texted anyone yet, lol. And everyone knows Friday night / Saturday morning is the “dead zone” of the media cycle (no one’s tuned in). What a fumbled announcement.

  128. The Reps definitely have the advantage here, and the Dems have no excuse as they see the steep Cliff in front of them, and they refuse to look down.

How much can you fix those voting machines, if McCain is up by 25% right before election.

  129. I will be honest – and it’s not exactly a PUMA response – but I am not happy that Hillary was not chosen as VP- even if I would have to think long and hard about whether I’d vote for this ticket. It is a complete insult to the millions who supported her candidacy that she was pushed aside, not even vetted, thrown under the bus because she’s apparently not worthy of even being in the Cabinet. As I said before, if Hillary were a man – there would be outrage of huge proportions that a candidate who earned and won 18 million votes would be snubbed like this.

If for whatever reason BO slimly won this election, I would’ve felt comfortable with Hillary as part of that team, and Big Dawg back in the trenches. BO has insulted the millions of women and men who would’ve had a better future under Clinton. He had an opportunity to create a completely transformative ticket with Clinton on it as a nod to them. Unbelievable. Even I thought BO had a speck of judgment and intelligence – what a joke. I have been in slight denial that the Democrat coalition and party of FDR and that democracy itself was still somewhat alive – I have to come to terms that it is really gone – with the selection of this asshat.

  130. The first sentence of the Washington Post’s front page sums up Obama’s panicked choice of Biden, perfectly:

“In a move aimed at shoring up his foreign policy credentials, ….”

  131. Berkeley: Ridge is a no-go. The RNC would not go for a pro-choice candidate.

The texting fiasco, I believe, was a scheme to get cell-phone numbers.

  132. Berkeley Vox Says:
    August 23rd, 2008 at 12:49 pm

Berkeley – BO campaign texted at 3am (get it?) last night (technically this morning). very stupid joke with the 3am thing.

  133. I think bambi is riding an elitist anti-american wave.(DUH)
I found it very interesting to watch the Academy Awards this year and see each major acting award given to a non-american. The Hollywood elite are the elite amongst the elite. Yet I read nothing anywhere about the tone they were setting. Don’t get me wrong I believe in art and its transcendence but I do not believe that a bunch of pseudo-liberals who have studied acting should be our guides in choosing the President

  134. Agreed, countthevotes. The Obama campaign’s decision to treat Hillary Clinton like a leper and not even TALK to her or not even TALK to Bill Clinton for advice (Bill Clinton, 2-time President, who chose the greatest VP ever — wouldn’t you call him up and ask for his input?) is an absolute insult and slap in the face. Obama has only exacerbated the tension between Hillary supporters in the last 8 weeks, and it gets worse by the day.

I didn’t want her for VP, but the fact that she wasn’t even considered, let alone wasn’t the obvious top choice, is mind boggling. Oh well, this sets up Hillary perfectly for 2012.

  135. Thanks birdgal, yeah I just read that too a second ago. I signed up yesterday so I guess I was too late.

Was the 3 a.m. text supposed to remind people that Obama is awake at 3 a.m. after all, despite Hillary’s earlier “3 a.m. ad?” What a lame parallel to draw. We should push that angle.

  136. CountTheVotes Says:

    August 23rd, 2008 at 12:56 pm
I hope McCain puts a woman on the ticket

Meg Whitman is out. I believe, she is exploring a run for governor of CA.

Palin? Probably not. Too young, plus, I think she has said, she isn’t interested. But, it would be a cool ticket.

This entire debacle was to get rid of the Clintons. Kennedy does not want anyone to outshine his family.

  137. WaPo poll: Biden provides NO bump for Obama:

Barack Obama’s choice of Joe Biden as his running mate is unlikely to shake-up the presidential horse race. In a new Washington Post-ABC News poll completed last night, three-quarters of voters said picking Biden would not sway their votes one way or the other. And about as many said they would be more apt to support Obama with Biden on the ticket as said the choice would make them less likely to vote Democratic on Election Day (13 to 10 percent).

    …and check this Obama-bot comment:

“I’m deeply disappointed at this choice. The candidate for change has chosen the consumate Washington insider as a running mate…..not just any insider, but an old school “do nothing” Democrat, the type who talk a great game but ultimately do very little, and who over the last eight years have allowed Bush to trash this once great nation……..This is a sad day for those of us who truly hoped for change……”

  138. berkeley – I guess the 3am message stunt basically says –

BO: “if you call me at 3am, then, I’ll just refer you to Biden…meanwhile, stop bugging me. I’ve got better things to do. I’m still eating my waffle.”

  139. i am clearly disappointed in Obama’s decision in choosing Biden. This is a clear disrespect to the Democrats and to Senator Hillary Clinton.

  140. birdgal Says:
    August 23rd, 2008 at 12:59 pm
    *****
yes, Kennedy wanted his revenge on the Clintons even if it meant destroying the party. He and BO can go take a flying leap, while drunk-texting together, for all I care.

re: women for VP – Kaye Bailey Hutchison, maybe there are others. The Republicans need to take advantage of all the disgruntlement and anger that women feel now. They’ll have to do something to throw women a scrap – female VP is one way – pro-choice VP another – but the latter is such a long shot.

  141. Biden on McCain and also on Iraq War results.

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4542473

    Wed., March. 17, 2004
One of the presidential nominating season’s most unusual ideas was proposed again Tuesday, this time by one of the most powerful Democrats in Congress, when Sen. Joseph Biden advocated a “unity” ticket of Democratic Sen. John Kerry and Republican Sen. John McCain.

Biden made his comments on MSNBC TV’s “Hardball” when moderator Chris Matthews asked him: “Do you think McCain is seriously — and I mean this professionally — flirting with the idea of accepting a second place on the ticket with John Kerry, and creating a fusion ticket to run against the president?”

Replied Biden: “I think that this is time for unity in this country, and maybe it is time to have a guy like John McCain — a Republican — on the ticket with a guy he does like. They do get along. And they don’t have fundamental disagreements on major policies.”

    The red and the blue
When asked by Matthews if he would support such a ticket, Biden said, “I would. Yeah, if John Kerry said that’s who he wanted, and McCain — I’d encourage McCain to say yes. I doubt whether John would do it. I doubt whether John McCain would do it. But, you know, we need some unity here, man. The red states and the blue states — we’ve got to have something to coalesce around here.”

The notion that a lifelong Republican like McCain would join the Democratic ticket is widely dismissed by many Washington observers, but McCain himself fanned the flames when he said last week on an ABC News show that he would “entertain” joining Kerry on the Democratic ticket.

“John Kerry is a close friend of mine. We have been friends for years,” McCain said on “Good Morning America” on Wednesday. “Obviously I would entertain it.”

  142. Apparently the PUMA’s are pist according to FOX. THe news on the street in Denver is one of aggravation of the VP selection. I hope we see real footage of the protests. It may prove to be a war.

  143. In the history of American politics has a group comprised of women over the age of 30 ever made a difference?
    The time has come.
God I just heard pelousy’s name mentioned which means I have to send another ten dollars to any opponent.

Joe Biden Makes It Easier for Catholics to Oppose Pro-Abortion Barack Obama

A pro-life Catholic group says it will be easier for Catholic voters to reject Barack Obama as president now that he has strong abortion advocate Joe Biden on board. Although some pundits say Biden is an Irish Catholic who will help Obama in states like Pennsylvania, Brian Burch says he will turn off voters.

Burch, the head of the pro-life organization Fidelis, tells LifeNews.com that Biden’s pro-abortion views, like Obama’s, pose a major challenge for American Catholics.

Fidelis warned late last month that a pro-abortion Catholic choice as a vice presidential candidate would offend many Catholics who have struggled with the scandal of prominent pro-abortion Catholic politicians like Senator Biden.

“Barack Obama has re-opened a wound among American Catholics by picking a pro-abortion Catholic politician,” Burch said.

“The American bishops have made clear that Catholic political leaders must defend the dignity of every human person, including the unborn. Sadly, Joe Biden’s tenure in the United States Senate has been marked by steadfast support for legal abortion,” he added.

Burch pointed to history to support his contention.

In 2004, John Kerry’s support for abortion sparked a nationwide controversy over whether Catholics who support legal abortion can receive communion. The debate was re-activated in 2007 when several bishops criticized Rudy Giuliani, also a pro-abortion Catholic.

“Now everywhere Biden campaigns, we’ll have this question of whether a pro-abortion Catholic can receive communion,” he told LifeNews.com.

“Senator Biden is an unrepentant supporter of abortion in direct opposition to the Church he claims as his own. Selecting a pro-abortion Catholic is a slap in the face to Catholic voters,” he said.

Apparently the PUMA’s are pist according to FOX. THe news on the street in Denver is one of aggravation of the VP selection. I hope we see real footage of the protests. It may prove to be a war.

    ******
I feel like PUMAs would vote against the ticket even with Hillary on it – I guess we should call these people pre-PUMA, and there were millions of them would’ve voted for Hillary if she were VP, and now, they will absolutely dig their heels in and say FU to BO. People like Lynn de Rothschild was a pre-PUMA…

I agree. there will be, as a friend said, a bloodbath in the Convention. Although alarmingly, I got a second confirmation that Hillary delegates may be voting in their hotels instead of on the Floor – and maybe this was because the DNC knew the VP pick and knew it would make people PISSED.

  148. Okay I am losing my mind. Bill Clinton said Obama’s stance on Iraq with regards to his prez run is a fairy tale and he is a racist. Biden said he is clean and he gets the vp. Reminds me of Oprah saying to gayle my grandma told me if I was lucky I could work for some nice people. Well look gayle I got lots of nice white people working for me.

  149. Oh it gets better and Obama calls him a “mentor”

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/uselection2008/barackobama/2601914/Frank-Marshall-Davis-alleged-Communist-was-early-influence-on-Barack-Obama.html

Obama mentor Frank Marshall Davis wrote shocking, autobiographical pornography

It has also been established that Mr Davis, who divorced in 1970, was the author of a hard-core pornographic autobiography published in San Diego in 1968 by Greenleaf Classics under the pseudonym Bob Greene.

. . . In the introduction to Sex Rebel, Davis explains that although he has “changed names and identities…all incidents I have described have been taken from actual experiences”.

He stated that “under certain circumstances I am bisexual” and that he was “ a voyeur and an exhibitionist” who was “occasionally mildly interested in sado-masochism,” adding: “I have often wished I had two penises to enjoy simultaneously the double – but different – sensations of oral and genital copulation.”

The book, which closely tracks Mr Davis’s life in Chicago and Hawaii and the fact that his first wife was black and his second white, describes in lurid detail a series of shockingly sordid sexual encounters, often involving group sex.

One chapter concerns the seduction by Mr Davis and his first wife of a 13-year-old girl called Anne. Mr Davis wrote that it was the girl who had suggested he had sex with her. “I’m not one to go in for Lolitas. Usually I’d rather not bed a babe under 20.

“But there are exceptions. I didn’t want to disappoint the trusting child. At her still-impressionistic age, a rejection might be traumatic, could even cripple her sexually for life.”

He then described how he and his wife would have sex with the girl. “Anne came up many times the next several weeks, her aunt thinking she was in good hands. Actually she was.”

. . . He derived sexual gratification from bondage, simulated rape and being flogged and urinated on.

  152. when did you find yourself opposed to Obama?

It was always in the back of my mind there was something about this man i could not put a finger on.
I just knew i did not like him

  153. One last comment
since Senator Clinton suspended her campaign and I continued to trumpet her stance, I have encounterd several middle aged straight men who have expressed to me a newfound respect for her. One guy actually relayed a story about his wife and her cancer treatment which would have cost them lets say to keep it simple and even numbers 100,000 but because he had insurance and that amount wopuld be paid his actual payout was 400. the insurance was only gonna cover 42%. Apparently this is very common — the hospiols bill a certain amount but if you have ins it is negotiated.
the man I spoke with said that hillary’s tenacity during the season coupled with what he saw as insurance fraud made him a lifelong republican a champion for HRC.

  154. Moon, That truly was a disgusting piece of information, although true. This was the person that gramps wanted to mentor to his grandson Obama. This further convinces me that Larry Sinclair is telling the truth.
Obama was mentored by this man from the age of 10 to 18, there is no telling what this man taught him or did to him or his mom. That name Anne sure stuck out to me as Obama’s mom was named Stanley Anne Dunham. It is all so disgusting, one more skelton in the very crowded closet of BHO.

  158. can’t wait for this tape from early in his 1988 presidential campaign to turn up: Yup bambi and Nany Joe are 2 peas in a pod. Oh the arrogance.

Joe Biden’s 1988 gaffe and his explanation: ”I exaggerate when I’m angry”

Most of Mr. Biden’s statement was in response to a report in this week’s issue of Newsweek magazine on a tape recording made by the C-SPAN network of an appearance by Mr. Biden at a home in Claremont, N.H., on April 3. It was a typical coffee-klatch style appearance before a small group. The network regularly records and broadcasts such events as part of its coverage of the Presidential campaign.

The tape, which was made available by C-SPAN in response to a reporter’s request, showed a testy exchange in response to a question about his law school record from a man identified only as ”Frank.” Mr. Biden looked at his questioner and said: ”I think I have a much higher I.Q. than you do.”

He then went on to say that he ”went to law school on a full academic scholarship – the only one in my class to have a full academic scholarship,” Mr. Biden said. He also said that he ”ended up in the top half” of his class and won a prize in an international moot court competition. In college, Mr. Biden said in the appearance, he was ”the outstanding student in the political science department” and ”graduated with three degrees from college.”

Mr. Biden acknowledged that in the testy exchange in New Hampshire, he had lost his temper. ”I exaggerate when I’m angry,” Mr. Biden said, ”but I’ve never gone around telling people things that aren’t true about me.” Mr. Biden’s questioner had made the query in a mild tone, but provoked an explosive response from Mr. Biden.

  159. Anyone else think Obama’s claim of McCain having a hothead is now null and void, he seems to have acquired his own hothead.

  160. How thoroughly did Barack Obama vet Joe Biden? After months of demonizing lobbyists, Obama selected a running mate who has taken millions in contributions from those same lobbyists Obama supposedly eschewed, at least until the DNC started running out of money. In fact, Biden’s son works as a lobbyist on Capitol Hill, accruing the kind of earmarks that Obama has both decried and pursued:

Biden has accepted $5,133,072 in contributions from lawyers and lobbyists since 2003. Obama does not accept contributions from federally registered lobbyists.

And he has one other weakness that hasn’t received much attention to date. One of Biden’s sons, Hunter, is a registered Washington lobbyist in a year in which Obama has been excoriating lobbyists and the culture of corruption in Washington. The younger Biden is a name partner at the firm Oldaker, Biden & Belair, LLP, and seems to have specialized in lobbying for just the kind of earmark spending by Congress that Obama has vowed to slash. Republican insiders say the party is likely to make an issue of Biden’s family lobbying ties.

  161. I have threatened(doubt anyone cares) to reregister

  162. Also expect to hear more about Biden’s close ties with credit card companies. His largest contributor (based on total contributions by employees) over the past five years has been MBNA, the Delaware-based bank aquired in 2005 by Bank of America than until then was the world’s largest independent credit card issuer and a major supporter of the 2005 bankruptcy bill that Biden crossed the aisle to support.

Once again, I want to point out that lobbying is a Constitutionally protected exercise. The First Amendment gives Americans the right to petition Congress, and nothing prohibits or even discourages citizens from organizing in that effort to harness the power of numbers. Run ethically, the practice of lobbying fills an important role in politics.

Of course, I’m not the one declaring lobbyists persona non grata in the Democratic Party. That was Barack Obama, who declared just two months ago that lobbyists would not fund “my party”:

  163. I can see why the Republicans want Obama as the dems nominee….geesh, what a mess.

    Larry Sinclair has legs.

  164. We already know that Obama is the ultimate postmodern president. He will just say “no” when you tell him Biden’s son is a lobbyist. It’s only so if he says it so.
Truth is entirely relative. Truth is what the media puts out with his approval. Vetting means that you never have to say your sorry.

  172. You read this and tell me, White voters are going to dump Obama. Race is so going to enter this.

    Mississippi – Rassmussen

McCain now leads his Democratic opponent by 13 points 54% to 41%. That’s a couple of points more for McCain than he enjoyed in July. Counting “leaners,” McCain leads 56% to 43%, also a bit better than last month for the Republican hopeful.

McCain is now viewed favorably by 63%, Obama by 44%.

The Republican leads 84% to 13% among white voters, while African-Americans favor the Democrat by a 97% to 2% margin.

McCain is viewed favorably by 88% of white voters and 18% of black voters.

For Obama, the numbers are reversed. He gets favorable reviews from 92% of black voters and only 18% of white voters.

I mean, for people to say race is not playing a part is nuts.

    To the editor:

The more I listen to and read about Barack Obama, the more I see his socialist ideologies. The redistribution of wealth, the seizure of profits, universal health care and government control of corporations are just a few things on his agenda.

If you delve into Barack’s past, you will see his immersion in Marxist theory and Saul Alinsky’s ideology. He was mentored by Frank Marshall Davis, a Communist Party USA member. One of his favorite authors growing up was Frantz Fanon (an Algerian socialist radical). Then there is his friendship and work with community organizers (Saul Alinsky proteges) in Chicago and his friendship with William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn of the Weather Underground (communists and domestic terrorists).

Is this the type of leader we want in charge of the largest free-market society? Do we really want someone in power who believes that the government should have control over everything? If you think your liberty has been trampled under the Bush administration, just wait and see what an Obama adminstration would do to our liberties. Socialism will be the cornerstone of an Obama administration.

  183. Hi, all: our internet went out temporarily, so I have just caught up reading the fast and furious posts of the day. I’m very grateful for all the informed opinions and fiery wit here at “hillarity is 44.” Safe travels, Henry and mp.

New Mex: you asked what I thought of the pick? Thanks for asking. A sidebar: my husband is from Delaware and went to the University of Delaware like Joe Biden. They are both “Fighting Blue Hens.”

Mostly, I’m relieved that Hillary has not be asked to rearrange deck chairs on BO’s Titanic. And that we PUMA’s don’t have to consider that choice. Someone posted earlier that she may have said “don’t even ask me” very early on. I’m inclined to believe that. I also think that many before Biden said “no,” some publicly, some privately. With such a conflict with trademark Obama positions, selecting Biden undermines the key messages of his candidacy. They should have been able to do better.

As a longtime Washington insider like BO, Biden likely is a card-carrying Combine Member who has Rezko ties. He has had his Rezko moment. See below from the swamp.

  201. ocdomer.blogspot.com/2008/08/joe-biden-as-change-you-can-believe-in.html

Barack Obama so loves himself that he chose as his running mate a higher-mileage version of … Barack Obama. Both are guys who were elected to the Senate as young men with winning smiles and almost no real-world experience. Both are guys whose arrogance is only exceeded by their self-conceit.

I take that back – nothing exceeds Joe Biden’s arrogance.

The “change” candidate – he’s a uniter, not a divider – brings us a V.P. candidate who was protagonist in two of the most shameful and bitter partisan battles of our generation, the confirmation hearings of Robert Bork and Clarence Thomas.

The selection of Joe Biden by the Democrat nominee also tells us a lot about the Democrats as a party. A ticket comprised of two sitting United States Senators, two Washington insiders, tells us that Democrats truly believe that Washington D.C. is the center of the American universe and the seat of all political wisdom. Democrats believe that the answers to all our nation’s problems must proceed from Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. Not from Main Street, and certainly not from Wall Street.

    McCain/Romney ’08

  216. This ticket is going to be an even bigger mess than i thought, if thats anything to go by. I think people watching would havr been gobsmacked wondering what bar they had been to beforehand.

The McCain Whitman ticket would be the best of all worlds but I see no way to make it work politically. I wish I could believe in it. I think it is the best thing that could happen and it might give Hillary some chance in 2012
    ====================

Huh? Why would it be easier for Hillary to run against incumbents McCain/Meg than McCain/somedullman?

  219. “The next president of the United States, Barack America.”

and it took Biden all of 30 minutes to fuck it up. New world and Olympic record for Gaffes.

  220. I see they still havent built a camera with a shutter fast enough to photograph biden with his mouth closed.

  221. All the momentum and excitement has swung over to McCain.

Obama only looked good to those mysoginists and they went right straight to Koolaidland with all that Hopium and coke.

I’m listening to the spin on Obama’s choice for Biden for vp. It’s to show the electorate that Obama can have who disagree with him on his team and all those McCain ads highlighting Obama need for worship is just b.s.

If that the reason they went with Biden, then McCain has won the battle of “mind games.”

I still don’t see how the Dems will be able to keep the senate a one of two seat swing in the Senate will hurt the Dems.

Listen, SD’s Obama is going over the clift at 80 miles hr but you don’t have to take the whole party with him….VOTE FOR HILLARY!!!

  222. Lousy deliveries. Both of them.

BHO stuttering and stumbling around…then introduces Biden as the next President (freudian slip?).

Then insults Rep. Stephanie Tubbs-Jones, because the funeral is NEXT WEEKEND, after the convention. How callous and insensitive to bring up this wonderful woman then disrespect her by saying her funerl is today! HOW INFURIATING AND DEMEANING TO MAKE SUCH A HUGE BLUNDER…and another slap in the face to HRC supporters.

Biden sounded like his dry mouth from medication was making him sound high. unsure, stubling around himself. Very unrehearsed, obviously, but not impressive in the lease.

His dig at McCains’s 7 kitchen tables was in poor taste, totally inappropriate during an initial VP speech; another sign of the haphazard way Biden does everything.

Scrappy kid from Sranton and Scrawny kid from Kenya not a winning combo.

    Y A W N………….

  223. wbboei ,

I disagree about Whitman/fiorina… Sure they’re capable female enterpeurs. But the problem is they’re not politicians, and they are not tested. They have no track record in politics, and nobody knows how they’ll fare in campaigns. Huge risks with no return.

McCain should go with Sarah Palin instead of those two.

  224. The good news for McCain is no matter whom he decides for VP, it’s not going to be another dull senator.

    bambi/biden = dull & duller.

  225. Oops I forgot to say I’m listening to MessNBC and the spin is amazing in their tell that the Democratic Leadership is worried about Obama.

So many people has hitched their wagon unto “The One” and I don’t think they’re happy about where Obama’s polls numbers are at right now in late August.

I wonder how many more “sick fcuks” are coming out of Obama’s associates: Racist Preacher, Domestic Terrorist, Convicted felon and Child Molester.

  226. sorry for all the typos. Guess after watching sloppy speakers, making me loopy as well?

The funniest thing….YES……Barack America……….PLEASE PLEASE make an ad out of that now GOP!

Still incensed about BHO’s inexcusable mistake about Stepahnie Tubbs-Jones funeral. I mean, if you can’t respect the woman enough to get something so important right, then just STFU.

His insincerity is so obvious toware her and her legacy. No way he would have made that king of faux pas if he truly honored her as a fellow colleague/politician, much less her service to the people of Ohio and this country.

Another poke in the eye to Hillary supporters to get her funeral plans wrong in such an “important and historic speech” on the steps of the IL Capitol. Honest Abe is probably rolling over in his grave about now.

Stephanie Tubbs-Jones exuded more class in her pinkie than the two of them exponentially. Simply unforgivable to mess that up about her funeral.

  227. McCain campaign has already seized bambi’s latest gaffe to pounce.

Let me introduce to you the next President … the next Vice-President of the United States of America … Joe Biden!

    Per AP:
Here’s the statement from Team Maverick:
“Barack Obama sounded as though he turned over the top spot on the ticket today to his new mentor, when he introduced Joe Biden as the next president. The reality is that nothing has changed since Joe Biden first made his assessment that Barack Obama is not ready to lead. He wasn’t ready then and he isn’t ready now

  228. No happy faces at MessNBC and I love, love McCain’s spokewomen, she love like she could beat Obama with one hand…they had no fear, instead they where in combat mode.

Audrea Mitchell got somber and somber reading Team Obama’s talking points and getting slap back from McCain’s surrogate saing “we’re not scared, we’re not scared and we cain’t wait to “kick some ass.”

Their plan seems to be working for now. They probably think this will keep the gay community in Chicago under wraps for sure now. Message from BHO camp is to be very afraid of being “taken out, ” one way or another. Silenced by any means necessary.

Enough hit-jobs on the gay community in Chicago to keep Patrick Fitzgerald busy for years following Rezko.

  230. The main problem with Obama vp selection for the bots is that it smacks of HYPRCRISY!!!

Obama and his village idiots went after Hillary vote on Iraq and her crossing the isle and look what happens. Obama selecteda an ultimate Washington D.C. insider as vp.

Shoot, McCain has a better progressive record in the senate then Biden and Biden been there longer 37 years and he still hasn’t met a clean Black person until Obama…none of the security forces around him wasn’t clean enough for Biden.

  231. We now have Joe Biden, the next President of the United States, and his sidekick, Barack America. LOL

  235. Yet more proof that Obama has officially thrown “change” under the bus — from Yahoo news:

    ———

A senior Obama adviser, speaking on condition of anonymity, said his boss has expressed impatience with what he calls a “reverence” inside his campaign for his message of change and new politics. In other words, Obama is willing — even eager — to risk what got him this far if it gets him to the White House.

  236. Moon,

My guess is that the change Obama plans on bringing is to model his administration after Russia’s Putin/Medvedev. Medvedev has the title of President and Putin pulls the strings. How it’s Hillary responsibility to bring us in line an Obama doesn’t have to do a thing.

The dems are going be surprise comes November.

    h t t p : / / http://www.redstate.com/diaries/sirgladiator/2008/aug/23/dick-morris-got-it-right-last-night/

Last night I was watching Dick Morris on Hannity at 9pm, and I believe his analysis of the Biden pick was very accurate. First, his point that Biden is ‘not Hillary’ is what is the most important part of his pick. The Hillary supporters didnt care if it was Biden, Kaine, or Bayh, they just cared that it wasnt her. The fact that Biden is a gaffe-prone Senator whose quotes make it seem he’d rather be on McCain’s ticket than Obama’s, that is icing on the cake.

The other point he made is more relevant to what comes next. He pointed out that now, with Obama having picked Biden instead of Hillary, that McCain should no longer consider any male candidates for his running mate, because the opportunity this provides McCain is too huge to waste, that he MUST pick a woman, because if he does so he can win the womens vote, and the election. This is a golden opportunity that cannot be passed up.

  242. Well who won the betting pool of how long it would take Biden to fuck it up.

As i said earlier the new world and olympic record of 30 minutes to fuck it up.

  243. Former Clinton strategist Paul Begala echoed similar frustrations on CNN Friday night.

“I think there are a lot of Hillary voters who are going to say, ‘Hey, wait a minute, man You said you were going to put her on the short list. You know, you didn’t even vet her. You didn’t call her. You didn’t seek her advice,'” Begala said. “By the way, he didn’t seek President Clinton’s advice either. He’s actually the guy who I think picked the best vice president in American history. You would think maybe you would sort of check in with him.”

Yup its called flipping the bird at the Clintons and those 18 million are now pissed.

  244. As someone said earlier, he should have worried less about McCain’s 7 houses, and worried more about Hillary’s 18 million voters. Yet he and the bots never lifted one finger to make peace with or win over her voters – only arrogantly ordered her to DELIVER her voters to him.

“We are the ones we’ve been waiting for” is not the slogan anymore. The slogan is “WE ARE THE ONES YOU NEVER EXPECTED.”

Karma is a BITCH, and she just came to town.

  245. I absolutely know this will never happen, but I would die and go straight to heaven if McCain picked HRC as veep.

CHICAGO–In a move that has stunned the political world, the Barack Obama campaign announced today that the first presidential debate will not feature McCain or even his running mate. Instead, the first debate will be between Obama and his own running mate, Senator Biden.
Asked what topics were likely to be debated, Obama had a sharp retort, asking, “How much time do you have? There are so many areas of disagreement between Biden and me it is hard to know how to begin. From Iraq to abortion, we have much to talk about.”

  251. Rassmussen – The news not good for Bambi’s nanny.

On the day that Barack Obama announced Joe Biden as his running mate, 39% of voters said he made the right choice. A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 25% disagreed and another 35% are not sure.

Women are notably less enthusiastic than men—33% of women say Biden was the right choice while 27% disagreed. Men, by a 46% to 24% margin, said that Obama made the right choice.

Not surprisingly, Democrats were more supportive of Obama’s decision than anybody else—52% of those in his party agreed with his pick while 19% disagreed. However, just 43% of Democratic women said the presumptive nominee made the best pick while 23% disagreed.

Overall, 32% said the selection of Biden made them more likely to vote for Obama and an identical percentage said it made them less likely to do so. Among unaffiliated voters, 25% are more likely to vote for Biden while 33% had the opposite view.

Web of Illinois connections abound in Biden pick

    newsblogs.chicagotribune.com/clout_st/2008/08/web-of-illinois.html

DENVER—Sure there’s all the talk that Sen. Joe Biden brings to Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential campaign some gravitas on the issues of foreign affairs and national security. But the choice of Biden as Obama’s running mate also reflects some of the synergy among Obama’s senior strategists.

One of Biden’s top advisers for his short-lived 2008 presidential campaign was David Wilhelm, an ex-Chicagoan who formerly chaired the Democratic National Committee and was the 1992 campaign manager for Bill Clinton.

Wilhelm, who is a superdelegate from Ohio, also was Biden’s Iowa campaign director in the Delaware senator’s ill-fated 1988 presidential run. This time around, after Biden dropped from the race, Wilhelm jumped to the Obama camp in February, serving as a strategist and wooer of superdelegates in the extended primary battle against Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York.

Wilhelm also was a key player in the first political campaign run by Obama campaign manager David Axelrod: the 1984 U.S. Senate race in which Paul Simon defeated Republican incumbent Charles Percy.

Wilhelm and Axelrod also worked together on Clinton’s presidential campaign. And Wilhelm ran the 1989 and 1991 campaigns of Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, one of Axelrod’s major political clients.

And who served as a political director of Biden’s brief 1988 campaign? Bill Daley, the brother of the Chicago mayor, who went on to become a commerce secretary under Clinton and is now exploring a potential 2010 run for Illinois governor.

DENVER — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is not a “Washington insider,” she insisted Saturday.

Asked whether she classified herself as a “Washington insider” at a briefing sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor, Pelosi answered, “Oh, absolutely not. No.”

Pelosi is an 11-term lawmaker, the daughter of a prominent Maryland political family and third in the line of succession for the presidency but not, she claimed, an “insider.”

Pressed for an explanation, Pelosi said that being an insider is about a person’s “state of mind,” not their tenure in politics.

“Inside, outside – you have to know the territory so you can work it, but you never become a part of it”, she said.

A review of his 2005, 2006, and 2007 Income Tax Returns indicate he reports a net worth of about $470,000. It was reported he has no home note, suggesting his home/homes are paid for. So, how does a person who has never made much more than $150,000 per year amass proterty of magnitudes 10 times or more what he reports to the senate?

So, Mr. Biden, how many homes do you have. You did not include the value of the four homes on your compound in the report to the senate and the IRS. How many homes beyond the four at your compound do you have? It is legitimate to ask of McCain, it is legitimate to ask you.

  276. mccain launching an ad targeted at clinton being jilted-
No sooner had Barack Obama publicly announced his new running mate had John McCain’s campaign produced an attack ad asking: Why not Hillary?

“Passed Over” will hit the airwaves at (you guessed it) 3 a.m. Sunday. The timing is a reference to Hillary Clinton’s national security ad during the Democratic primary and the same time the Obama campaign sent out its text message announcing Delaware Sen. Joseph Biden as the vice-presidential nominee.

“She won millions of votes. But isn’t on his ticket. Why?” an announcer says in the 30-second spot.

The answer? “For speaking the truth.”

The ad, which has not yet been released, then ticks off a litany of criticism Clinton used against Obama in the prolonged primary, according to a transcript sent to reporters.

“You never hear the specifics,” Clinton says.

“On the Rezko scandal,” the voice says.

“We still don’t have a lot of answers about Senator Obama,” Clinton says in footage from the primaries.

“Senator Obama’s campaign has become increasingly negative,” Clinton says in another scene.

The announcer closes by saying “The truth hurt. And Obama didn’t like it.”

The ad is the latest sign that the presidential contest has grown increasingly personal. It’s also proof that the some times bitter battle between the two Democratic senators has provided useful fodder to the Republican opposition.

Both Obama and McCain are fighting to win over the 18 million voters who chose Clinton during the primaries.

Recent polls show her base of mostly white working-class women has not rallied behind the Illinois senator. McCain frequently praises the former first lady in an effort to woo her still undecided supporters.

“Passed Over” could strike a chord since many Clinton fans are upset that she was not seriously considered as Obama’s running mate. While most people considered the “dream ticket” a long shot, the Obama-Biden ticket still struck a chord among supporters and delegates who had held out hope that Clinton would be chosen.

  277. Kristol: The Democrats’ Glass Ceiling
    Denver
So Hillary Clinton gets about 18 million votes in 2008, and isn’t even considered for–she apparently isn’t even given the courtesy of being consulted–the vice presidential pick. Joe Biden manages to persuade a few thousand (if that) Iowans to support him. And Barack Obama selects Biden? Normally, if the VP pick came from that year’s presidential field, it’s the runner-up (Kerry-Edwards in 2004, Reagan-Bush in 1980, Stevenson-Kefauver in 1956). (Lyndon Johnson in 1960 hadn’t entered the primaries.) And Biden wasn’t even the third most successful candidate this year (hi, John Edwards!), or fourth (Bill Richardson, I suppose), or fifth (Dennis Kucinich!).

What’s more, Biden and Hillary have basically comparable foreign policy “experience” (such as it is in either case). Nor is Biden clearly more knowledgeable in foreign affairs than Hillary. And they have pretty similar foreign policy views. So no advantage to Biden there. And, unlike Jack Reed, for example, Biden didn’t serve in the military. So no advantage over Hillary there. Nor does he outshine her in executive experience (unlike Evan Bayh or Tim Kaine or Kathleen Sebelius)–neither Biden nor Hillary has any.

Also, if the VP is supposed to handle the Democrats’ populist economic message: after the last few months of the primary campaign, it would be hard to say Hillary hasn’t proven herself an awfully good carrier of that message. And Hillary can performi the attacking functions of the VP nominee as well as Biden.

Will the Democratic party, which is committed (to say the least) to gender equity, and which in fact has a 50 percent quota for female delegates, accept Obama’s imposition of a glass ceiling at its convention?

A modest suggestion to my justifiably outraged Democratic friends: Hillary’s name should be placed in nomination not for the presidency (Obama won that more or less fair and square)–but for the vice presidency. It would be an interesting roll call vote.

  278. Did anyone else catch BHO mentioning Stephanie Tubbs-Jones in his address today, referring to her funeral being TODAY when it’s NEXT WEEKEND?

To me, THAT is unforgivable. If you can’t even respect her by getting her funeral arrangments right, then by all means just STFU.

I took it as just another huge hurling insult toward HRC and Tubbs-Jones support of her.

Can’t believe FOX hasn’t commented on that blatant ignorance on BHO’s part about a prominent fellow Democrat’s death and funeral.

    What a sorry POS.

  279. Talked to a few staunch republican friends today, they are breathing a huge sigh of relief and now think it’s even money – which may not be too far off.

This in an absolute can’t miss election for delmocrats.

    What a fucking disgrace!

WHERE ARE YOU CHARLIE RANGEL? WHERE RU TAKING YOUR BOY TO TASK FOR NOT EVEN CONSIDERING THE CREAM OF THE CROP CANDIDATE?!?!?!

    YOU FUCKING LYING BITCH!

  280. I sincerely hope Hillary goes in there this week and rips the Denver Convention to shreds, she has the capability to do it and they deserve nothing less.

The Clintons could take the Democratic down in one go next week and they know it.

  281. This one is so bloody hilarious.

    Joseph & the Technicolor TurnCoat

    or

    The One and The Done

    or

Ebony and Ivory with a touch of arrogance and insolence.

  282. Obamatons aren’t the only one’s who are livid over that ad. I guess perhaps John thinks I’m so deaf, dumb and blind that I don’t know when someone is trying to fucking play me. But you know what, John. I do.

So now YOU are NO DEAL too!

  283. To me, THAT is unforgivable. If you can’t even respect her by getting her funeral arrangments right, then by all means just STFU.

And that’s another thing I’m spitting fire over tonight. He doesn’t mind trying to cash in by mentioning the name of a TRULY great woman, but he can’t be bothered to know when the hell her funeral is actually being held. PRICK!

  284. I mean just what I said…I don’t like to be played. Why do you think McCain is adding to Hillary’s humiliation Paula? To win US over. Oh yes…see how dirty he did your girl, ladies. I see it…I understand. You just come put your head on Uncle Johns shoulder, and I’ll slay that dragon for you.

    BULLSHIT. I ain’t that stupid.

  285. Idunn: Which ad?

    The “passed over” ad.

I KNOW when someone is trying to manipulate me. and I DON’T appreciate it. AT ALL.

  286. Idunn, I respect how you feel, and I know the ad is cynically political. But it would be stupid for McCain not to capitalize on Obama’s arrogance.

  287. Idunn,do you really think he’s gone too far with that ad? Don’t you think his main point is to illustrate how stupid and arrogant BO is?

  288. Idunn, I think that yes, it is a political ploy (evrything is in an election), but I honestly think McCain means it. He has spoken respectfully of, and complimented Hill THROUGHOUT this past year, even when he thought she might be the one he was running against. There is nothing in that ad that is not the plain truth.

  289. Paula Says:

    August 23rd, 2008 at 9:29 pm

BTW, I agree with everything Bill Kristol says, and that NEVER happens, lol.
    ================

Better read it again. He keeps comparing Biden to HIllary and saying HIllary is no better. She has ‘no executive experience’, other such digs.

  290. McCain respects Hillary, and vice versa. That was clear before either one even ran for president.

BTW, I love the 3 a.m. timing of the ad. BTW, all we’ve seen is the script. It’ll be interesting to get the visuals when it’s released.

  291. Idunn: Shortly after Hillary suspended her race, McCain held a telephone conference with supporters of Hillary. It was an information gathering session. Carly Fiorna was part of it. Unfortunately, I only heard the last 30 min of it, but McCain came across as interested, and seemed to be reaching out, which is more than the undemocratic party has been doing. At the end, the moderator said, “We have time for one more question.” McCain said, “I’ll take three.” My point, is that, he was reaching out, not dissing people. Of course, he wants our votes, but he always been respectful of Senator Clinton, which is more than I can say for the undemocratic party. Are we being played? Probably, but everything in that transcript is true. We have said the same things.

  292. Idunn, we are a very valuable and large block of voters. Any politician would go after that. At least McCain is trying to be nice and woo us over with hearts and flowers. Obama just went on about his way, cracking put-downs, cock-sure that we would be HIS ELECTORAL BOOTY CALL.

  293. Lets face Obama did the political equivalent of spit in her face, kick her in the face, stand on her throat and then rape her and that I will never ever take from that son of a bitch.

  294. I’ve read analyses of the Biden pick, and the fact Hillary was never considered is often ignored. As I said earlier, this choice didn’t happen in a vacuum. The divided nature of the Dem Party has to be taken into account when analyzing Biden’s potential impact.

  295. Y’all know that one of the Daleys ran Biden’s previous presidential run, right?

I’m telling you, ALL of this shit leads back to that Chicago Combine. Maybe Obama needs to get in the WH quick, so he can fire prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald before all the REALLY big players get uncovered and the stench starts reeking in very high places.

  296. Spitting in her face or not, is it at all possible that Hillary wasn’t vetted or even on the short list because she asked not to be? Maybe she didn’t want to be attached to anything Obama-related.

  297. Because it’s so funny, I give you this one more time:

“Poor Barry, he’s confused again. No one was questioning his ability to MAKE a call at 3AM!”

Thanks also to the poster who talked about the Names That Can’t be Mentioned. Hilarious.

But it can’t be racist to mention the team of Hussein & Robinette, can it?

  298. Thanks also to the poster who talked about the Names That Can’t be Mentioned. Hilarious.

LOL… I don’t recall saying anything about that today, but it MUST have been me. I’m always doing the HWSNBN schtick, just because…well…what the hell is so awful about the name Hussein that it can’t be uttered? It’s sure no worse than Robinette.

  299. Idunn: I was reading the comment section on Riverdaughter, and the comments have very positive about the ad coming out. This is about dissing BO, not Hillary. Similar to the ad, with all the democrats saying positive things about McCain. Let’s see, what it looks like.

  300. Hi, Idunn, Bird, Moon, JanH, H4t, meiyingsu, Paula (who else is here tonight?) Nice to have shared this whacky day with you all.

Even though I didn’t want our girl to take the job, I am still smarting from the full realization that BO never even considered Hillary. He is even stupider and more arrogant than we thought.

And I agree with H4T: we are VALUABLE voters. We will never be taken for granted again. We will be DECIDING this election.

Case in point: we are not impressed with a drunk-dialer on a booty call for voters at 3am. Ewwww. DOUBLE ICK.

  301. And Freckles, too. Glad you liked, “Poor Barry, he’s confused again. No one was questioning his ability to MAKE a call at 3AM!” 🙂

  302. Birdgal, I also was on that Virtual Townhall Meeting for Hillary supporters with John McCain. I held on for a long time to ask a question, but one woman was very long winded and there was not time for my call. On that phone call, Sen. McCain was very respectful of us and Hillary.

He had asked what was important to us, and one Hillary supporter said that drilling for oil was vitally important because we want to be independent of foreign countries for our energy. Sen. McCain, within a week of the call changed his position on drilling here. He caught a lot of grief from that change which was bantered as a flip flop. Sen. McCain said that relying on foreign oil undermines our national security. He never said that he changed his position because it was important to a Hillary supporter, but I am convinced we were what changed his mind.
My favorite statement he made was, “Country first. Country over party.”

  303. It has been an exciting Day, and I have been in and out.

I do think that McCain is treating HRC supporters in a quiet respectful manner. He also seems to know how to approach people.

Right after he suspended, he did not get on that conference call and start bugging to people to vote for him. He was just answering questions

I felt like he wanted us to come to our own concusions, and he was respecting us.

However, I am beginning to think Obama is getting drifty. It is like he cannot think and speak extemporaniously. I consider that am important issue for a leader. McCain can do that.

  304. Idunn, Just got back to reading the posts, I noticed you mad about the new add, well all I can say lets look at the big picture. It makes no difference if we are being used, we are desparately trying to use the republicans to get rid of the fraud. So in some ways we are both using each other to get the desired effect and that is to rid Obama, Dean, Pelosi, Brazzierre, if we can do that I will use John McCain any old day.

  305. neeta, Biden is a widower. His wife died in a tragic car crash, and he raised two small kids by himself. I do give him credit for that – he was evidently a pretty devoted dad.

  306. Short Termer: I think, I came in, at the tail-end of the long-winded woman. McCain was very respectful, and able to end the call well. He said, he would visit her town. I think, it was in Ohio?

I also, appreciated his honesty about abortion issues. He was direct in his responses.

  307. Biden lost his first wife, and daughter in some sort of car accident, and was left a widower to raise two sons.

He has remarried, but I am not sure how long ago. I heard that his sister and mother helped him raise those sons.

  308. confloyd,

exactly, no doubt mccain is using us. But on the other hand, we’re willing participants. The more media is focused on the status of ‘fracture’, ‘divided’ democratic party, the more leverage we will have…

The key is to persuade the 9 million Hillary supporters to continue to hold out and finish bambi once and for all in Nov.

The more this gets played up in the media, the more likely we’ll finish bambi…

I’m a straight pragmatist. The ends justify the means, period. When you are a loser, you lose everything, no bargaining power. That’s why it’s extremely important to defeat bambi/dean/pelosi at any cost. If they lose, there will be house cleasning in the party. Make no mistake.

  309. having said that, I think that ad is a bit awkward and lousy. McCain should not use Clinton’s words against bambi. He should just play up the fact Clinton has been cheated by the democratic party, Obama is an arrogant jerk who doesn’t care about Clinton’s 18 million voters etc.

He needs to strike a subtle line here to woo many Hillary supporters.

  310. Someone mentioned here, Obama said Stephanie Tubbs Jones funeral is today. I guess he does not intend on going. I will be at the funeral. I know that Bill, Hillary and Chelsea will be there.

  311. He needs to strike a subtle line here to woo many Hillary supporters.

Exactly. That’s what bugged me the most about the ad.

  312. Hey all!

Just wanted to stop back in and say HI! and goodnight

    Denver in the morning!

    YIPEEEE!!!

Come to 18MillionVoices events Monday and tuesday

    check the website for details!

  313. So no matter how hard O tries, he comes off phoney and elite, where as McCain can change his position, but he speaks to you as individual, like you are an equal, and he cares about you.

He does not preach to you like he is a demi god, but he connects with you.

He does not get in front of a crowd and say I am the One you have been waiting for. We are going to change things, and I will give you hope.

McCain says, this is what I will try change, and this is how I hope to make things better.

  314. Norma, pop in when you can and give us some details. I’m trying to keep up with several places where folks are going, but it’s tough.

I’m sending love and light with you guys! STAY SAFE!

  315. For our country folks we have to get rid of the 3 stooges by any means possible short of anything illegal and is to let the freaking, nastyass, worthless republicans win. THen we will have the leverage to get the centrists back in charge. Otherwise, folks we will never win again. Sometimes you have to concede and have time to let your troops be replaced, rested, thinned and come back and beat the hell out of them next time around. That is what is great about America. We, the people, have been discharged of our power and the only way to get it back is to let the more powerful carry the cannon until we can do the next time around. Just would I think, right or wrong, I want to send Brazziere, Coward, Pelosi and Obama, Axelrove packing.

  316. Thanks Idunn

I’ll do nightly updates if I can

OUR “Dear Leader” called me tonight and told me to expect to adjust to the thin air…she said she felt like she was high all day, aand suddenly realized what the Hell John Denver had been singing about!

  317. the ad may boomerang on mccain. he should address she was cheated, the cuaucs issues etc.. that would help him most. but this?

  318. Just on Fox, Biden was just asked to be the veep on Thursday, just as I thought, no one wanted to join the goodship LOLLIPOP on the voyage to the bottom of the sea!

  319. Hillary approach is a little more organized than McCain, but she really developed a great delivery over the months of the campaign.

  320. I think the ad is smart, because it reminds people that he makes bad decisions based in his MASSIVE EGO, and that is a very bad trait in a leader.

  321. I think the ad sucks. He’s not going to get Hill supporters on the cheap. He’s going to have to do it on ISSUES. Gee, he’s as dense as Obama. He better follow this up with a kick ass pro-woman VP, or some co-opting of Hillary’s policies, or fuggetaboutit. The ad is insulting.

  322. All I have to say is that McCain better offer HRC a damned good position. Lord knows, she more than anyone has helped his campaign. (except for Obama, of course)

  323. They have some Hillary Haters on Fox, guess some republicans are still scared she is going to pull off a coup!

  324. Remember, Hillary still has a large debt. Obama has done nothing to help her. She has been out campaigning for him for FREE. What does this say about O. I can’t stand him

  325. mccain advisor says his campaign will be discussing hillary’s mistreatment during the camapign and will likely create more ads etc…

  326. texan: Yes, Hillary was mistreated during the campaign, but she is a symbol for all women. I hope, the ads expand it beyond Hillary. She is the symbol for all women, for the gender bias, sexism, misogyny, and other abuse that occurred during the primary season.

  327. And, the pundits are holding Hillary responsible for our refusal to fall in line. It is insane, but it is what they are doing. How, or should, we combat that? Do we need to Step Up, Fire Up, and tell them all to Shut UP-like STJ would do?

I am reading “Living History” right now, and I have learned more that brings Hillary even closer to my heart. And, to be referred to as such a b!tch, she surely is a good mother.

Neetabug, please if the opportunity arises, let the family know how much we all revered Stephanie Tubbs Jones.

  328. Idunn, I take it differently.

    We know he respects Hillary.

We know he wants our votes.

We know that one of the best things about Hillary’s candidacy was her policy stances.

    We know 👿 is a flip-flopper.

We know he thinks we should just “get over it.”

Therefore, IMHO, we have a better chance of getting some movement from McCain on our issues bc 👿 just doesn’t give a fuck.

To sum it up, the ad may just be straight talk which is what McCain is known for. It’s not flowery. It’s transparent he wants our votes and he’s asking for them. He’s not taking us for granted.

As for humiliation- the only humiliation in this belongs to the DNC for anointing such a fucking loser in the first place. Dumbasses.

  329. confloyd Says:

    ================

That makes sense to me. We’re lucky McCain is trying to get hte centrists back in charge in the GOP too.

  330. Wow, just read Palin’s wiki page. She’s strongly pro-life, which is concerning, but her first veto was on legislation barring gays couples benefits. That’s pretty cool. She got a huge natural gas proposal through her leg, the biggest such program in US history. She’s pretty strong on the environment. She got through a 2.5% increase on the oil companies, despite her husband being a BP exec. Doesn’t seem like McCain is taking her seriously. BO should be very happy about that.

  331. I have just seen the gaffe’s and just seen the end of the vp speech. What caught my eye was when the wives came out. Biden gave Mo a huge hug and she returned it. Obama gave Biden’s wife a very small cordial hug and immediately turned to MO. THE MAN HAS PROBLEMS WITH WHITE WOMEN!!!

  332. kostner said: That’s why it’s extremely important to defeat bambi/dean/pelosi at any cost. If they lose, there will be house cleasning in the party.
    =============

Kostner, I hope you’ll give us a wakeup call when we need to start doing somethign abotu that housecleaning. The foxes are already starting to ‘fix’ the henhouse. Obama wants Dean to appoint a commission at the convention to study ‘reform’…. starting with ‘diminishing the superdelegates’….

  333. Am I on candid camera or something? I actually heard someone say that the Obama/Biden speeches today were ones our childrens children will still be talking about?

WTF? All I remember from the whole thing was President Biden, Barack America, and “my wife is drop dead gorgeous”.

  334. since Senator Clinton suspended her campaign and I continued to trumpet her stance, I have encounterd several middle aged straight men who have expressed to me a newfound respect for her.
    —————————————————————-
I run into it too Henry. A couple weeks ago I asked a police officer whether I could park in a particular place since the signs were ambiguous. He noticed the Hillary bumper sticker my car and the placard on the below the window in the backseat. He said he wished she would have won because she was the competent one, but alot of people who just dont think vote for obama. I told him keep the faith.

  335. THE MAN HAS PROBLEMS WITH WHITE WOMEN!!!

No…just women in general. He barely hugged Michelle, and then beat feet quick.

  336. Also, why is Brazile still in power, after losing 2000 and 2004?

Because Japan retired Rodan, and we haven’t been able to find another monster that can stop her from crushing our cities.

  337. About McCain’s ads, my computer won’t hardly play ads so I don’t know much about them. But I doubt if we high information hard core PUMA types are the targets.

I expect they’re targeting people who have not been keeping up with the campaigns, who may just now be learning about any of these issues.

  339. Colo. Inmate Charged With Powder Mailing

Prosecutors have filed charges against a jail inmate alleging he sent a threatening letter and white powder to a Colorado campaign office for Sen. John McCain.

Marc Harold Ramsey faces a charge of knowingly mailing a threat and could serve at least five years in prison if convicted.

Authorities say the powder in the letter was not lethal, but they have not determined what it is. The letter arrived at a McCain campaign office in the south Denver suburb of Centennial.

U.S. Attorney Troy Eid announced the charge on Friday.

The 39-year-old Ramsey is in the Arapahoe County jail awaiting trial on a charges of menacing, harassment and assaulting a peace officer.

  340. Huh? Why would it be easier for Hillary to run against incumbents McCain/Meg than McCain/somedullman?
    —————————————————————–
Turndownobama: I meant the strongest for the Republicans against blow hard and blow harder in 2008 since it would move more disaffected women to the Republican side. Politically however meg wont work for reasons stated. Hillary in 2012 is an imponderable for me at this point. I am more interested in what happens next week. I could make an argument that it would be better for Hilary to run against Meg in 2012 if that were the sceario because a glass ceiling would have been shattered if they won the election. It would be harder for msnbc to lauch sexist attacks against Hillary at that point. Of course if my scenario works out those people will be six feet under after this debacle

  341. H4T, that video made me picture DB Pooper yelling at the convention, “Nominate Obama or I’ll huff and I’ll puff….”

Wait, nevermind. That’s 👿 ‘s line (at least according to Mr. Sinclair).

  342. I am already getting sick of how Joe Biden is going to wind Ohio, Pennslyvania, hell he couldn’t win when he was running! I am ready for Johnny boy to announce!

Do we know anything about him. Any connection to ACORN or the Obama campaign. Not suggesting there is but every time an Obama opponent is assaulted killed or dies we need to ask the question and rule it out. He is tied to some bad people in Chicago as we all know.

  344. We have been introduced to President Biden and Barack America today, it just can’t get any better than that. The freaking Dean the Scream is probably shitting his pants!! HA! HA!

  345. And, the pundits are holding Hillary responsible for our refusal to fall in line. It is insane, but it is what they are doing. How, or should, we combat that? Do we need to Step Up, Fire Up, and tell them all to Shut UP-like STJ would

Not Hillarys faut that their wet dream did not come true. It like that little MAGGOT chuck todd. When things did not go the way they wanted in NH we are all racists.

Hillary is really still fighting the media whores. She said again today she has done more than any other candidate at this stage in the campaign.

  346. found this little gym over at the dnc blog, there are some hard feelings over there about Hillary, I was surprised, some of coarse are pist that we are bitching.
Looks like this ticket has been on the radar for a while! Look at the date!
    youtube.com/watch?v=jPev5sEdTjg

  347. Why on earth is McCain poised to pick Romney? All the stuff he’s throwing at BO will be returned with ads of Romney vs. McCain, plus he’s an unbelievable flip-flopper. I heard he’s considering Powell. That’s a good choice. Plain or Rice are two other good choices. Romney is a terrible choice, but seems he has Obamaitis.

  348. Whomever he choses better be able to beat the fraud! They also better get on those voting machines. I think the republicans are because they are talking about it on the dnc blog!

  349. No one was questioning his ability to MAKE a call at 3AM!”
    —————————————————————–
Informed in Illinois: correct, it was his judgment we were questioning and once again he flunked.

  350. I think if McCain’s camp wants to win us over, the only thing they have to do is vet Obama in earnest (without exaggeration and leave Hillary alone) so people can make an informed choice in November. That is enough to get back at DNC and the media which failed us in the primary.

  351. I think if McCain’s camp wants to win us over, the only thing they have to do is vet Obama in earnest (without exaggeration and leave Hillary alone)

    Hear hear!!

  352. They need to get this beoch off Fox. She is believing in the hopium crap!!

Hannity is telling them that Hillary would have electrified the party and united it, but the fraud can not share the stage!!

  353. If “my friends” is annoying, “ladies and gentlemen” is going to get old real fast. It’s like Obama picked his own McCain but with the added benefit of constant bloviating and hair plugs of course.

  354. This Obama supporter on FOX said Bambi did the right thing in selecting Biden, because they did not need 3 presidents in the Whitehouse. Well I can see that, there would not be any room with the 300 national security advisors in there too. How many rooms are there in the White house anyway??

  355. mj, there are several reasons for Romney. [BTW, you made a great deal of common sense in your projection that Obama would name Hillary. Your reasoning was the only way this big rollout announcement which wasted over a week made any sense. It was a big buildup for a dud.]

Romney can raise a lot of money for the Republican Party (which is financing the GOTV efforts, all McCain money will go to salaries and TV ads). Romney will help in Michigan because his father was governor there. Romney helps in swing states with big Mormon populations like Nevada and Colorado. Romney will also be a good attack dog.

Romney’s problems are the ones you stated (flipflopper, say bad things against McCain). Also he is a Mormon which helps in Utah and Nevada and Colorado but is a problem with evangelicals who think Mormons are not real Christians.

This election is going to be won or lost in Pennsylvania. The strongest pick therefore would be Tom Ridge. The problem with Ridge is he is pro-choice and evangelicals will possibly revolt.

Palin might be a good choice and would help get Hillary voters in places like Pennsylvania.

McCain is being quite shrewd with regards to Hillary voters. As Marie3548 noted McCain is running an ad directed to Hillary voters (in a few hours).

Here is the Washington Post article with the ad script:
    http://voices.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/08/23/mccain_tries_to_rile_up_clinto.html

A new television ad by Sen. John McCain aims to tap into anger at Sen. Barack Obama among the legions of Hillary Clinton supporters by suggesting that the Democratic nominee dissed his one-time rival.

Erasing any doubt that McCain has his sights set on Clinton voters, the new ad uses Clinton’s own words to suggest that Obama passed her over because of the tough campaign she waged. The ad is titled “Passed Over.”

“She won millions of votes. But isn’t on his ticket,” an announcer says. “Why? For speaking the truth.”

The ad then shows Clinton criticizing Obama for speaking generalities (“You never hear the specifics); for his connections to Tony Rezko (“We still don’t have a lot of answers.”); and for being too negative

The announcer comes back on. “The truth hurt. And Obama didn’t like it.”

The idea is to portray Obama as a petulant and angry rival who refused to consider Clinton as a running mate because of his anger over her comments. And to tap into Clinton supporters who just might vote for McCain.

Clinton spokesperson Kathleen Strand wasn’t buying it. “Hillary Clinton’s support of Barack Obama is pretty clear,” she said in an e-mail. “She has said repeatedly that Barack Obama and she share a commitment to changing the direction of the country, getting us out of Iraq, and expanding access to health care. John McCain doesn’t. It’s interesting how those remarks didn’t make it into his ad.”

The ad was supposed to be embargoed until 3 a.m., though the script leaked out before then.

What’s the significance of that time? Well, the campaign’s not saying. But it’s not hard to imagine that the 3 a.m. time was meant to be an inside joke referring to Clinton’s famous ad, which asked the question about who voters want answering the phone in the White House at 3 a.m.

The full text of the ad is below:

Script For “Passed Over” (TV :30)
ANNCR: She won millions of votes.
    But isn’t on his ticket.
    Why?
    For speaking the truth.
    On his plans:

HILLARY CLINTON: “You never hear the specifics.”

    ANNCR: On the Rezko scandal:

HILLARY CLINTON: “We still don’t have a lot of answers about Senator
    Obama.”

    ANNCR: On his attacks:

HILLARY CLINTON: “Senator Obama’s campaign has become increasingly
    negative.”

    ANNCR: The truth hurt.
    And Obama didn’t like it.

JOHN MCCAIN: I’m John McCain and I approved this message.

At this point in time, i don’t care if a dog ran against Obama i would vote for the dog

My thoughts precisely. I just cannot stand that donkey obama anymore.

  358. Idunn, you need this shirt. Ordering one myself…

  359. Hello you old fellahs…

MJ, wbboei, Kostner – hope you are all keeping well.

I hope to see Obama defeated.

  360. Romney was my Governor. He’s the biggest flip flopper in american politics. Yes, I realize there are big mormon constituencies in the MW, however there are also huge evangelical groups there and they think mormons are cultist. Are uou saying McCain can’t win OH and FL, because if he is relying on PA that’s bad news. Correct me if I am wrong, but PA has gone Dem all of the four last presidentials? I think Powell would be quite strong in appalachia. The voters there are jacksonian, as is Powell. BO didn’t do poorly there because he’s african american. He blew it there because he’s counter-jacksonian. Rice would also be a strong pick, I think. But Romney? I just don’t get it. Further, those ads won’t work if the Dems play ads of Romney attacking McCain. He’s a total empty suit also. Money didn’t help BO in the last 4 months of the primary wich he lost in a landslide.

  361. Someone asked last night or today about where to find teh “Democrats for McCain” bumper sticker…

    http://www.dems4mccain.info/bumper-stickers/

I bought six about two months ago. It took a few weeks to receive at the time but is prolly faster now. The one I had on my car was stolen by one of the dirty hippie kids down the street. I’d like to see them try for the next one. Little fuckers….

I’d send you one but the rest are spoken for…

  362. Wow, has FOx changed its mind on HIllary, they are saying beautiful things about her in advertisements!

  363. admin Says:

McCain is being quite shrewd with regards to Hillary voters. As Marie3548 noted McCain is running an ad directed to Hillary voters (in a few hours).

The Dnc nor Pelosi, Obama and Dean and co. never thought they had to cuddle or appease Hillary supporters nothing whatsoever. DUH and they sill dont care about us they just know that we will fall in line. So why shouldnt John MCcain seige the moment.
    Good strategy.

Is this arrogance and or stupidity. It really does not matter Obama and co will never get my vote anyway.

  364. “How the DNC has treated *you*. Here’s a news flash for you: NOBODY CARES.”

Taylor Marsh may have to retract that ‘news flash’ because it’s not true. The stupid way the DNC treated woman voters matters. During the primary, Taylor said again and again ‘voters vote their emotions.’ Any political pro knows that. It was incredibly stupid for the DNC to put two popular identity candidates, a black and a woman, on a collision course. Playing the race card in South Carolina, that dumb stunt by Kennedy, screwing up Michigan/Florida to blunt Hillary’s momentum. It’s like the New England Patriots, with Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady, trading their first round draft pick for Payton Manning, so they can flip a coin to see which Hall of Fame quarterback sits on the bench. It matters that the DNC did something that dumb. Obama is running as a figurehead, so you look at the party behind Obama to see if they can back up a figurehead President. No they can’t. They’re a dysfunctional bunch of shitheads that embarrassed lifelong Democrats with this clown show. The country needs a strong Chief Executive. That’s as much a part of the Constitution as the Bill of Rights. The way Dean and that mental case Brazille treated woman voters tells me this DNC does not belong in control of the Executive Branch.

“I have *no* respect for anyone putting themselves before country.” But that’s exactly what the DNC did. Bill and Hillary had to kick a little ass when they were running the country. So Kennedy, Kerry, Bill Bradley, etc., sandbagged Hillary out of their own petty resentments because Hillary was Bill’s strongarm enforcer. They put themselves above party and country. So Taylor Marsh can’t blame PUMA for this mess. Blame the so-called ‘pros’ in the DNC.

  365. if “nobody cares” and it certainly seems nobody does, why the hell is Marsh writing about it? What is her problem? I don’t get it. Why can’t former Clinton supporting Obamabots just promote Obama? Why bash Hill supporters?

  366. From her wiki page “Her husband, Todd, works for BP at an oil field on the North Slope[5] and is a commercial fisherman.”

  367. The republicans and Fox are at least courting us, the stupid brazilla DNC says they have a new coalition and do not need the working class white voters. Donna, I hope you will enjoy your supper of CROW on Nov. 5th.

Okie, I think you mentioned that no one has seen Coward, I bet he is too scared to be anywhere the PUMA’s! LOL!!

  368. The Obamabots are still pist because we are not rolling over for the “ONE” and they blame Hillary instead of Bambi, the dumbasses!!

  369. MJ, Bambi is not courting us on issues, false sympathy or anything else. I don’t care if McCain was just as mean to Hillary as Bambi was, I am voting for him, not cause I want too, I am voting for him to kick out the chicago mafia and SOros controlled DNC, headed up by Dean and Brazilla!

  370. mj, Powell will not go against an African-American candidate running for president. If McCain could get Powell it would probably help McCain. But in all likelihood Powell will be in Obama’s corner openly or covertly. Rice agreeing to run is doubtful too.

Florida is already gone. Obama cannot win Florida. Obama has spent millions there and he is behind McCain. And now Obama is pulling advertising out of Florida too. The Obama campaign says they will go back on air after the convention but that’s doubtful. Florida is gone.

McCain probably has a lock on Ohio also. But there is a slim slim slim chance that could change.

Pennsylvania will be the coup de grace against Obama. If McCain wins Pennsylvania it will be a Republican blowout with victories throughout appalachia.

The point about Romney was to answer your question as to why Romney. Romney would be a problem as you noted regarding things he has said about McCain and his flipflopping.

If Romney is chosen it means that McCain will play for Michigan and Ohio and has less hope of winning Pennsylvania. A Ridge candidacy would mean that McCain has assurances that there won’t be a revolt and is going for a blowout (Ridge would help in Ohio too).

At this point McCain has a menu of choices bigger than Obama. Obama had some demented idea that he could win western states and places like Indiana and Missouri. Those dreams are now gone. Indiana and Missouri are gone. Obama’s slim hopes rest on winning Pennsylvania, keeping Michigan, and adding difficult to win states like Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, along with Iowa.

The Obama strategy never made much sense and much less now.

  371. Well, I won’t vote for either of them, but I strongly suggest if McCain wants to win this thing he try something more than “I’ll lower taxes”.

  372. confloyd, it’s the same old scenario:

    1. woman gets beat up
    2. woman threatens to leave
    3. she gets beat up some more
    4. and some more
    5. she says if this keeps up I really am leaving
    6. he says no you won’t, you got nowhere else to go
    7. she finally has enough and leaves

    8. he says, OMG, YOU are breaking up this family!!! How could you DO such a thing! Don’t you care about the children, you cold bitch? YOU have destroyed the family!

  373. I hear you, admin. But I think Romney is a risk not worth taking.

I never understood the BO strategy either, but Biden oddly does have a small following in FL.

  374. yeah, thats right, I wonder what Hillary thinks of McCain using her words against Bambi. I bet she could care less, its politics and if you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen, and Bambi keeps he should have a free pass on all the dirty stuff unless of coarse he is dealing it.

  375. if that new AD says all of that, i’ll be ecstatic…

hillary and john mccain are friends, they’ve both
said so numerous times, and i believe it.

anyway, i didnt want hillary to be VP, but he sure
as hell should have asked her…

so RIGHT ON, john mccain! call that motherf*cker
    out ………..

  376. mj: the Powell idea would mitigate the race issue. But I am quite sure he would not be interested. A number of us tried to get him to run several years ago, and his wife was not willing. But what a wonderful contrast he would make to bambi. He is a role model for a leader. Bambi is a role model for a delusonal child with an identity crisis.

Palin won’t work. For alot of reasons.

Romney is their best bet except for the flip flops. I respect your knowlegde of him since he is your governor. But to others around the country he looks very presidential.

The bench is not that deep. I asked them if they would take Judas Richardson off our hands and they were offended. Kay Bailey and Christine Whitman name never came up. Surprise/

  377. “Palin won’t work. For alot of reasons.” Like what?

I think Romney is a terrible choice. When you run against an empty suit, best not to run with an empty suit.

  378. I think Romney is a bad choice as well. McCain needs some freshness on his ticket, not hollowness.

  379. mj, you are in all likelihood right about Romney.

As to Biden there has been a lot of nonsense today about him. This “lunchbucket” Joe business is particularly questionable.

In what sense does Biden appeal to white working class voters? Biden might be popular in eastern Pennsylvania but not in western Pennsylvania which is the source of Obama’s biggest problems. Not one pundit has stated why Biden appeals to white working class voters. It reminds us of all the balderdash about Edwards appealing to white working class voters during the Kentucky and West Virginia primaries.

Edwards always appealed to well off liberals who like candidates who talk about the poor. But Edwards did not appeal to nor get votes from the white working class. Ditto Biden. (And let’s not forget the Obama campaign sending Kennedy and Kerry to appeal to Pennsylvanians as well as sending Kennedy to appeal to latinos in California – all laughable attempts.)

All day Big Media blowhards stated that Biden was liked by “little old ladies”. What is the proof of this? More importantly, they might like Biden but they did not vote for Biden.

Biden might have a following in Florida’s Broward and in Scranton Pennsylvania but hardly enough to sell the unqualified Obama.

  380. It still just blows my mind that Obama has yet, ever in his life, to take a stand on ANYTHING and fight for it. Against rael opposition. Not ONCE! Even all the things that the bots thought he offered, he has thrown every one of those ideas under the bus, gone against every reason they supported him in the first place, but the bots keep licking his feet.

Maybe they think that if they can just manage to crawl far enough up his ass, they will eventually find his spine.

  381. “Edwards always appealed to well off liberals who like candidates who talk about the poor.” Hehehehe. Spot on.

I agree about PA, but general elections are won and lost in Broward county, are they not?

  382. H4T, You are right on that spine search.
They are talking about a woman for McCain, I like KayBailey Hutchison. She certainly could kick Bidens’ ass in National Security. She is topnotch! I like her!!

  383. Mj, “general elections are won and lost in Broward county, are they not?” – ask Al Gore and John Kerry. Big turnout in Broward helps but is not determinative.

  384. admin, who do you think would be the best pick for McCain? One thing I know, he won’t pick another sitting Senator. Only fools like Kerry do that…oh wait.

  385. admin-mccain’s strongest choice would be my state’s popular sen hutchinson. dems are scared she will be on the ticket. tough as nails. also she is in the demogrpahic of women that obama is having woes with. but she wants to run for gov in 10. this is his best choice.
    -palin is an excellent choice
-it wont be lieberman-the right wing will go nuts but he will help mccain win fla and pa esp with older jewish voters. i now many of them and are voting mccain bc of lieberman.
-romney would be troublesome-esp since his healthplan for ma is a disaster and until 2 yrs was pro choice.
-ridge would really give mccain an upper hand in pa. he is very popular in pa esp with casey dems. but again the extreme of the gop runs their party so its a slim chance.
-im thinking it may be none of these. someone perhpas no one thought of writing about.

  386. on how to vote-i see it as either mccain or obama will be prez. it wont be the greens or nader. writing in hillary in mst states is regarding as a vote for the dem on the ballot. i see it as obama or mccain. only one will win. lets face it either one aint too hot. obama is an egotist and very corrupt who dont know jack about being prez. mccain i like-but dont agree with him on many issues. he better swng center on the economy quick. and no-i dont buy hillary likes hm. why? mccain voted to remove bill clinton and his family form the whitehouse. he also has made terrible remarks about chelsea that im sure hillary and bill do not care for. my bet is most will be voting mccain bc obama is about to get fully vetted by the gop. he wil be a pariah by nov. so the choice in the end may be veyr easy for the country

  387. No, Hill does like McCain. There are several photos of her boating with him, holding his hand, etc. She likes him as a friend. He’s crusty but maybe reminds her of her father. If she can forgive Bill, she is probably a very forgiving person.

  388. oh i agree-in the senate she developed friendship with him. they ahve traveled to russia etc..

—I want to make one last point to admin and everyone here. wat obama did ith biden took care of the rest of hillary’s delegate retention. i dont know a single dlegate not going. even alternates are leaping into cars headed to denver with their buds.

  389. mj: she is not a national figure. She comes from a state with few electoral votes. The political class up there is very ingrown. She has a Heather Wilson problem. Wasilla is a small town and a small town outlook works fine in a rural state but when you get to the fast track in Washinton the outlook is different and I have seen that in politicians I have known. I lived and worked in Alaska on and off from 1970-81 but never knew Palin. Obviously I am missing something. What is it that you see that leads you to believe she should be his vp and presidnet if he decide to cash in his chips after he takes the oath of office compared to say . . . . . . Romney. It just seems to me that Kay Bailey (Huchinson) is a more likely possibilty than Palin. Whitman is a voice from the past. Just before he died Nixon predicted she would be vice president some day. But he thought Pete Wilson would be President–California Dream’n.

  390. great to hear that it has energized Hillary’s delegates and alternates in case the BO machine is sneakily trying to replace them. I know that there were grassroots efforts to be in touch with Hillary delegates, but I wish there were a systematic way to communicate with all of them, and have created game plans internally so everyone could stick together/vote together, report any intimidation from the BO camp – the problem is that any intimidation was probably reported to the DNC, and we know whose side the DNC is on.

  391. later tonight, this to look forward to, from NQ:

Need a reason to stay up tonight? The WSJ has a tidbit for you insomniacs.

  392. “What is it that you see that leads you to believe she should be his vp and presidnet if he decide to cash in his chips after he takes the oath of office compared to say . . . . . . Romney.”

Romney is a unbelievable fool. He will NEVER be President. There’s nothing there. he makes Obama look substantive. He’s a total moron. He was for gay rights before he was against them. Pro-choice before pro-life. Pro-universal healthcare before against universal healthcare. Whatever the issue, he was for it before he was against it. He makes John Kerry look consistant. I’d much sooner Palin President than that jack off.

  393. earlier comment:

And, the pundits are holding Hillary responsible for our refusal to fall in line. It is insane, but it is what they are doing. How, or should, we combat that?
    ———————————

I know, and it’s completely dishonest and unfair for the media to do it. It’s not that *Hillary* supporters aren’t backing Obama, it’s that *blue-collar white voters* aren’t backing Obama. They evaluated Obama in the primary, and decided Clinton was better. Now they’re evaluating him aganist McCain, and they’re deciding McCain is better.

  394. admin, I assume you’ve checked out for the night. I’m still wondering who you think is McCain’s best pick.

  395. mj: well then on your advice I wont vote for the son of a bitch either.

But sticking with Palin for a second how do you think she would compare with Kay Bailey or Christy Whitman-if you have an opinion on that. I think their national reputation and experience would make them a better choice.

By the way just in the course of this converstion I am warming up to the idea of the Republlicans putting a woman on as vice president. That would be a BIG story and national media would find it difficult to go after her the way they did Hillary.

Now that plus a landslide loss by the dems could open the door for Hillary in 2012. They could go into one of those how did we snatch defeat from the jaws of victory this time. And they would have to look themselves in the mirror and ask how dumb are we-we had the best candidate-and we let the other side break the glass ceiling.

The problem with thinking three steps ahead is what is expected seldom happens and what is least expected usually occurs.–Disaraeli/

  396. Christy Whitman would be great but the conservatives don’t like. Palin is better because she’s pro-life, which will rally the base, yet she’s pro-gay rights(though opposed to marriage equality) which indies will like. She’s just really effective, and a reformer which would help JM’s message. Hutchinson is a good choice, but she’s apparently running for gov in 2010, also she’s a sitting senator and I never think a senator should run with another sitting senator.

  397. mj, Ridge (if there are assurances of no evangelical revolt). Ridge would get Pennsylvania and be a big help in Ohio and Indiana. A woman would be fascinating (if a fighter and qualified) and would help get Hillary voters.

It’s frankly difficult to provide advice to Republicans, because it is so distasteful, but Obama must be defeated.

  398. That passed over ad may be more than a jab at bambis head. It may be a left jab followed by a right cross. If they are as smart as i hope they are. The right cross would be for McCain to appoint someone like Kay Bailey and say we treat women leaders better in the Republican party–heres looking at you bambi,

  399. I don’t see it as advice. I have no dog in the fight, so I see it as just speculation. Ridge seems perfect except for that mess with the color coded Homeland Security nonsense. I do think it would do McCain well to not run with just another white guy. That said, Ridge is pro-choice, which would certainly shake things up.

  400. A Dkos diarist whining about the new McCain “Passed Over” ad – you have to wonder, why does every Bot believe that Hillary has to iron BO’s shirt, do all his campaigning, win the campaign for him, etc. etc. Are all of them mamas boys and girls – did they not do anything for themselves? BO should address the question himself – and his answer and the truth will be tepid: “oh yeah, we didn’t vet her, we didn’t even consider her or consult her or Bill Clinton about VP choice.”

    Here are the DK-bots:

“We know that the McCain people do not worry about internal consistency in their attacks. They are content, on Saturday, to say “Obama picked Biden even though Biden was his ‘harshest critic’ and called him ‘not ready’ last year” and then, on Sunday, to turn around and say: “Obama passed over Hillary because he is too thin-skinned and vain to pick someone who criticized him.” They are just throwing everything they can to see what sticks.

It is tempting to laugh this off, but I think a rapid response is in order. The best would be a 30-second spot featuring Hillary herself saying: “John McCain has lost his bearings with his latest ad featuring me. He thinks my supporters are so petty they would vote for him even though he will continue to pursue a Bush-Cheney agenda that goes against everything I stand for. But my supporters know that voting for John McCain would be a betrayal of my campaign and that voting for the Obama-Biden ticket would be a tribute to my campaign.”

I would only run it one day and dump it once Hillary actually speaks on Tuesday.

The argument for ignoring it is that the media will hype Hillary’s speech even more than before, and while I am no Hillary supporter, I have little doubt that she will make McCain regret he chose this tactic.

If Hillary does not strongly bat it down, we will know what the weird meeting between her brother and McCain’s campaign manager was all about.

  401. Dkos bots whining about the McCain ad “Passed Over” addressing why Hillary didn’t get the nod for VP:

“We know that the McCain people do not worry about internal consistency in their attacks. They are content, on Saturday, to say “Obama picked Biden even though Biden was his ‘harshest critic’ and called him ‘not ready’ last year” and then, on Sunday, to turn around and say: “Obama passed over Hillary because he is too thin-skinned and vain to pick someone who criticized him.” They are just throwing everything they can to see what sticks.

  402. Oh for christ sake, what a bunch of weak losers. Hill is not responsible for Obama’s campaign or message, and Biden wasn’t the choice of the most voters. idiots.

  403. re: DKos bots – you have to wonder why all of them think that Hillary needs to iron BO’s shirt, do all the campaigning and make sure he wins. Are these people ALL mama’s boys and girls who never had to lift a finger while their mothers wiped their asses? Apparently, they are all created in BO’s image.

Why not simply believe that BO has to do the work himself – why doesn’t BO answer this question? because the truth is tepid – “oh yeah, we never vetted Clinton, we never really considered her seriously.”

  404. Admin: its like anything else in life–you do it long enough and you get used to it. I have met Ridge at an Irish event at Aronomak golf course years ago. Everybody there was wearing green except me and I felt like a displaced limey. Nevetheless I watched him deliver a speech dark room bright lights not too compelling. He was a marine and I think he was injured in Viet Nam. He was fairly young at the time but had a hearing aid which I assumed was a war injury.

Here is something I would like your answer to. Maybe its obvious. There was a comment above that the selection of Biden has generated a call to arms among Hillary delegates who were not planning to attend.
Obviously that is partly because Hillary was neither vetted or selected. But is there a further reason for this namely that Biden is part of the Kennedy faction that engineered this takeover of the party and the expectaton was that unity meant a sharing of power with the centrist faction and the appointment of biden says no to that. If that is the case then it is no longer about personalities but principles and principles are worth fighting for. Do you read the comment above that way?

  405. well, honestly – I like this MCcain ad.

I can’t trust the press to tell the truth about what is happening to Hillary supporters – sadly, only Republicans are telling it like it is, even if it is for their own purposes.

Here’s CNN’s story about how Clinton’s inner circle is outraged – what about the millions of supporters who are PISSED as hell? I doubt the MSM will do any stories about the rest of the outrage – they will suppress it like everything else about Hillary:

    politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/08/23/some-in-clinton-circle-outraged/

  406. you have to hand it to the Republicans – they are smart – they are going to force the press to cover this ad and the rift between Clinton and BO, and get lots of free media about this new ad.

they are hoping that it’ll be the buzz at the Convention throughout next week. i hope it will.

meanwhile, the sad sad part of this is that many CDS Republicans are probably enjoying watching Clinton campaign for BO and iron his shirt – and now, they’re forcing her to defend him against her own words.

  407. mccain advisor says this is the begining. they will push the rift through the end. sad obama. if he had her on the ticket the gop couldnt do this effectively

  408. Count the Votes: I agree with you.

The question I am interested in is how will this video play with supedelegates. Specifically do they want to coronate a candidate who will punish them for telling the truth. I know what my answer would be.

  409. t4hill – yup, I am sure they will push the rift and rip it apart.

I am only sad that the Republicans will eventually try and get the Democrats to blame Hillary for the loss too – which will be a way to undermine her for 2012. And since Democrats are lemmings with no brains – especially the New Brazilian Democrats – they will lap it up.

  410. Now that we have reached here, could someone tell me
Why was it that Nancy Pelosi wanted to rush Hillary out of the race before the primaries were over? Does any on think it was because she wanted BO to be president? Or is there something in the long run plan?

  411. I just heard Biden deliver a line that made me laugh out loud. In his debut yesterday afternoon, Biden said (and this is close to a quote) “Obama has unified the Democratic party unlike anybody I’ve seen in all my years”.

Unified the party??? If this is one of Obama’s assets, I don’t want to hear his downside!!

Isn’t it interesting that Dems now believe that they automatically deserve support. They believe Hillary supporters will vote as she tells them to. If not, it proves we are lunatics. Just as they believe that Edwards voters were waiting to hear whom they were supposed to turn to.

As someone (my memory is failing) said: We are the ones nobody expected.

And so they have no plans to deal with us. They are just ‘hoping’ we go away or ‘change’ into Obamabots.

I don’t know about you men but we women are used to saying NO and being told we really mean Yes.

  412. wbboei – i don’t know how this will play with SDs…they are the most spineless of all of those voting in the Convention. we the people, the regular Hillary delegates, have the mettle – they make the SDs look like wimps. if SDs did have spines – they would know, they need a Candidate who would never insult the people he needs to win the election.

I think the Republicans really want Dems to have a floor fight – it is exactly what they want the rest of the country to see. well, so be it. we are pissed as hell – Clinton supporters have been abused beyond belief.

  413. mccain advisor says this is the begining. they will push the rift through the end. sad obama. if he had her on the ticket the gop couldnt do this effectively

I think they knew the Republicans would exploit the rift between Dems…meanwhile, Pelosi should’ve pushed Obama out of the race – why push the stronger of the two out of the race? oh, I know – political correctness.

  415. oh wait-i bet next mccains folks will talk about that cacus docu in denver and talk about how dirty obama is etc.. expect that mon

  416. Hillary has the perfect defense: she was only telling the truth, and Obama wasnt. And if you cannot tell the truth in a campaign then why campaign in the first place? He was the one who divided the party–not Hillary.

  417. yup t4hillary- the caucus fraud will definitely be next up. there is so much we are furious over – endless insults to injury over the course of the primary. I can imagine the Republicans have read all the archive articles of every pro-Hillary blog…they know how we feel, better than the asshats who run the DNC and Poopalosi who are so out of touch – they didn’t even bother – all they say to us is get in line.

this is going to be a very interesting election – the republicans will keep Hillary in the limelight for the duration of the election. politics is a hell of a mind-f**k.

  418. wbboei – agree. she has been snubbed – and 18 million of us along with her. that is the truth. the republicans are telling it, and even if Hillary herself denies it, no one will believe her. the truth is obvious. the Republicans should play all the CNN pundits, all the MSNBC ones, even Carville, Begala, Estrich, everyone saying that she was not vetted or approached or consulted – Obama has insulted the very voters he needs.

  419. My choice for McCain is a straight forward, competent man. I don’t know about him but Charlie Crist of FL looks the part. If he weren’t probably a Dem, I’d look at people like Clinton’s FEMA guy, James Lee Witt, who could move the government as if it were a tray table.

I hope he goes for someone like a Republican Gore who reformed the govt as VP. I want people to look at McCain and — and believe they can start to make government work again. They should believe that a Katrina would never happen with these two. And they will know what to do if Russia invades Poland or something else.

Then when Biden repeats his mantra that this is a really really important election, people will think “too important to risk going with Bambi and Eeyore”.

  420. well countvotes said everything i was going to say! obama is way over his head and this passded over thing will be a big media deal . obama will struggle with it. it fuels rage bw the 2 camps in the party.

  421. It really is true isnt it. The left wing zealots planned their little coup and expected the centrist faction to submit to it. I imagine they caught alot of sds off guard and forced them to make a decision under duress. But now they have had a chance to deliberate, and see what bambi is like his gaffs, tankign poll numbers etc who knows.

  422. freckles – last post for me, but I completely agree with you. it would be interesting if the Republicans really went for reforming the govt – they need to take the “change” mantra away from Pampers – and actually give it substance. hell if they can do that, and make it reality, we will see not only the fallout against Bambi, but Democrats attrition to the Republican.

  423. that new ad is everywhere. on lots of blogs. i wonder if it is on air anywhere. although cable will show it im sure free

  424. JUst doing a little research and I was wondering if anyone has any info on Gramps. There is not much out there, only that he was born in 1918, joined the service in ww11 and then opened a furniture store. Lots of stuff on gramma, very little on gramps, I think that is strange.
This Davis mentor of Obama’s was also born and raised in Kansas, 50 miles from gramps. Sure is a coincidence!

  425. ive heard nothing lately on kay bailey being on mcain’s shortlist. but some keep buzzing about her. i doubt she will run with him

  426. IDunn, I think that ad is not addressed to us, but to those people in denial about what was done to Hillary. It has to be hard hitting to wake them.

Thanks to you and all the others for the humor on this board! And to Admin for coming up with such great material time after time.

Ridge (if there are assurances of no evangelical revolt).
    =================

Ridge may have other things going for him, but just on the abortion issue … I think it has much more leveredge with the Evangelical types than with the pro-choice side.

For them, preventing even one abortion is a serious moral religious absolute.

For us abortion is basically a matter of convenience and insult, and we’ve had so much insult to women this year that abortion laws pale beside it.

So imo a pro-choice VP or plank or whatever, will hurt McCain more than help him.

  428. No, confloyd — if he chooses a woman, Dem sexists will forever say that Kay earned it by being VP and Hill did it through her husband.

Not to mention that Bailey-Hutch is really galling.

Just a competent middle-aged man — Latin if there is an experienced one — that should end the Western states move from Red to Blue. A Republican Pena or Cisneros. A charming Mel Martinez. Martinez is on the energy committee.

  429. The slogans write themselves for McCain:

Government that Works Again –for all of us.

    Government you can count on

    Govt you can trust

Then follow up with the many reforms we need.

Example: did you know that the Immigration Dept has two computer files on immigrants — and they are NOT linked. If you are in the older file, you must write to Washington. They will replace your lost citizenship card in about 2 years! 2 years to run off a computer card that takes 10 seconds.

Without your citizenship card you cannot get a drivers license. By federal law (run by Dems for the past two years) one state is not allowed to use or even look at credentials from another state.
So 50 years of citizenship, driver’s licenses, voting, and years of medicare and taxes and social security are USELESS if they were issued in a different state. That’s how the govt is keeping you safe!

Imagine how many people will welcome common sense in govt. Stay out of the libraries and stop selling ports to Arabs. Strengthen the borders but let me drive.

Put the grownups in charge. Hillary in particular but someone who has accomplished something as a second choice.

  430. If McCain was smart he’d talk (a lot) about what was done to Hill, and how BO stole the nomination.

I think McCain & Hill had had at least one shot drinking contest too,
    on their trip (Alaska?) together.

Not sure if that was the global warming one….

  431. Blue,

    I agree!

As for drinking on a trip, I remember Hillary saying “What happens in Estonia, stays in Estonia.”

  432. PLEASE WAKE UP AMERICANS….A vote for the car salesman (con artist) is a vote for over 20 years of personal relationship with REZKO, Wright, Ayers, and Farahkhan…He is an empty suit; he can say anything to get elected. This rookie is a big PHONY. ….I’m tired of all his rhetoric…..The more I listen to this guy the more I hate him……He can not be trusted…

A flip-flopper to get an experience! He voted “present” for more a hundred times, because he did not know how to vote “Yes or No” …WOW, this guy is a totally a joke!

Remember Muslim’s sons are for life. Blood is sticker than water. He can say any thing and he can run BUT he can not hide.

I was a lifelong Democrat, but now Independent. I will never vote for Barrack HUSSEIN Obama.

Please don’t be fooled by a car salesman. ….As a patriotic American; I don’t care if you are a Democrats or Republicans, we deserve an honorable man like Sen. McCain.

If you believed everything this car salesman said, you are a fool.
