When Will Obama Concede?

Obama is unelectable and not qualified to be president.

On the night Obama lost South Dakota (Obama’s own projections had him winning South Dakota by 15 percent) he spoke in the same hall in which Mondale conceded to the Reagan landslide.

Obama will either concede now or in November.

Obama won’t win Democrats he needs to win (like the Democrats on this very website). In state after state many Democrats clearly state they will either NOT vote, vote for the unacceptable John McCain, or write in Hillary’s name. That Democrats, many who have never voted for a Republican or nightmared about voting for a Republican, to say they will vote for a Republican is shocking and foreshadows doom for the Democratic? Party in November – if Superdelegates actually vote for Rezko/Ayres/Pfleger/Wright/Farrakhan’s friend – Obama.

Hillary supporters will not vote for Obama on any ticket. Last night, at the Hillary rally, the shouts were Denver, Denver – not tears nor surrender.

No tears nor surrender came from the voters of South Dakota either. No matter how much Big Media insisted Obama was the nominee the people voted for Hillary. Big Media cannot force feed Obama to “bitter” small town America.

Last night, Hillary asked America to write to her. Hillary told us this was our campaign.

Now the question is, where do we go from here, and given how far we’ve come and where we need to go as a party, it’s a question I don’t take lightly. This has been a long campaign, and I will be making no decisions tonight. But this has always been your campaign, so to the 18 million people who voted for me and to our many other supporters out there of all ages, I want to hear from you. I hope you’ll go to my website at HillaryClinton.com and share your thoughts with me and help in any way that you can.

Hillary spoke about our resilience, our ability to overcome challenges. Hillary was speaking about America, but her words are especially true of her supporters.

You know, tonight we stand just a few miles from the Statue of Liberty. And from the site where the Twin Towers fell and where America rose again. Lady Liberty’s presence and the towers’ absence are a constant reminder that here in America, we are resilient, we are courageous, we embrace all of our people and that when we face our challenges together, there is no barrier we can’t overcome, no dream we can’t realize, nothing we can’t do if we just start acting like Americans again.

Write to Hillary. Ask Hillary to fight for every vote – including the votes stolen from the voters in Michigan and Florida. Tell Hillary we will not accept the precedent set by the Rules Committee awarding votes to a candidate that was not on the ballot and taking votes away from her which the voters of Michigan entrusted to her worthy care.

Donate to Hillary. Add 44 cents to show our grassroots support for her historic campaign.

Let Hillary know we will never concede to Obama’s race-baiting, gay-bashing, woman-hating campaign of deception and distraction. On to Denver!

Let Obama know he will concede at the Democratic Convention or he will concede in November – Obama is not duping us out of our votes.

  1. Roger Simon is a jackass. He goes on to quote two Obama aides saying (today) that Obama doesn’t need Clinton supporters.

“It has been a hard-fought and sometimes bitter campaign, but Obama is not, one of his senior advisers assured me Tuesday night, going to spend a lot of time in the next few months wooing Clinton supporters whose feelings may be hurting.

“I think there are always immediate feelings of disappointment and anger,” Anita Dunn said. “But in the months ahead, he must appeal not just to the constituency groups who favored her in the primaries, but those he wants in the general election, and that includes independents and Republicans.”

Another Obama adviser, who asked not to be identified, said that he was not worried that Clinton supporters would stay angry”.

    They aren’t getting me.

  2. Still I Rise
    by Maya Angelou

You may write me down in history

    With your bitter, twisted lies,

You may trod me in the very dirt

But still, like dust, I’ll rise.

    Does my sassiness upset you?

Why are you beset with gloom?

‘Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells

    Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,

    With the certainty of tides,

    Just like hopes springing high,

    Still I’ll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?

    Bowed head and lowered eyes?

    Shoulders falling down like teardrops,

    Weakened by my soulful cries?

    Does my haughtiness offend you?

Don’t you take it awful hard

‘Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines

    Diggin’ in my own backyard.

You may shoot me with your words,

You may cut me with your eyes,

You may kill me with your hatefulness,

But still, like air, I’ll rise.

  3. Admin – thank for the words about FLORIDA and Michigan

We will fight on. Voter disenfranchisement and Election Fraud are NOT representative of the Party I want to belong to.

Funny thing – I was a registered Indie for SEVEN YEARS before this Primary….

I voted. It mattered. But apparently ONLY to me, and to a couple of million of Florida voters who ALSO voted. And what did the Democratic Party do with MY vote? They stole it. Now, according to Hawk’s post, they STILL don’t want it. Fine. I go back to being an Indie and vote for the candidate of my choice.

  4. WELL ….. the supers elected obama

so i guess now its time to email donna brazille and ask for her resignation 😀

  5. Blue Democrat: On the one hand, it’s seems plausible that MO could have said such a thing. On the other hand, I wonder what is in it for the Republicans to leak any info about the tape at this time? Anyway, that’s the one big problem I have with it. It really gives me tired-head just thinking about it, so I’ll just continue to follow along over at noquarter and spare my brain the torture 🙂

  6. Admin, love the title!

hawk, they are so much like the Bushies, creating their own reality — 18 million, what fraction of it is expendable for them? If can get a breakdown of the demographics of that 18 mil, that would be nice. The things they are saying are exactly what will not bring unity. They will have to win without the likes of me and we are far too many to ignore. Let alone unifying us, he will definitely unify the Republicans — they will vote in droves because they are terrified of him. He will be the biggest draw for them to drive their faithfuls to the polls.

  7. filbertsf: really? I didn’t know that about SONIA4HILLARY. If it’s true, then it’s not my problem. If it isn’t, well, I still meant what I said.

  8. do we have the video of brazille stating she would resign if SD decided this thing?

I would like to include it in my email to her 😀

I think, they are sorely mistaken, arrogant, and narcissitic. Many people have already left the the democratic party. Why would any conservative Republican vote for a candidate, seeped in Marxism, anti-semitism, white hatred, and hatred of America? That is confounding for me. Many Republicans voted for him in the primaries, as an anti-Hillary vote. So, they think, they do without the latino vote, women, older citizens, Asians, and moderate democrats. This anger is deep, and is not going away for many women and other supporters of Hillary. Losing 20-25 of the democratic base, is going to hurt in the GE.

  10. kristen powers on hannity tonight said if he looses even 10% of us he will loose the GE… take that obambi! 😀

  11. republicans won’t vote for obama, they already think McCain is too far left for their taste!

  12. hawk:

Whoever those waffles aides are, they are playing a very dangerous game there.

To say, as a democratic nominee whose base is latte liberals and AA’s, that you don’t need a substantial amount of support from 18 MILLION moderate dems that voted for Hillary is the primary, is COMPLETELY ASININE.

  13. The DNC will regret this. Taylor Marsh’s site will probably go to hell in a handbasket with the bots invading. Noquarter, here, and a few other spots will be my refuge.

  14. dija: He will lose, at least 10%, if not 20-25 %. They cannot woo back, people who have been abused, dismissed, and dismissed in that short amount of time, if ever. There is too much water under the bridge. I already changed to Independent, and will not vote for BHO.

  15. obama will loose the general election —

not because active bloggers who support hillary are saying so but why we say so

FOR 5 MOS —MEDIA BEEN TRASHING HILLARY,OBAMA OUTSPENT hillary 1to 5 ,,and still hillary won the popular vote ,

and i am not even mentioning all the moveon, org,,,and huffpost shitt spread

and all those endorsements that obama bought .

I mean what kinda looser he is ….

in general election -there will be no cacuses, and all women, seniors, working class voters will vote who have rejected him big ,then what he will do ,,,,,,

  16. hawk: I concur! Admin and LJ are both great. I only visit their sites for my Hillary fix. When I have some extra time, I like to torment some of the waffle-bots over at tpm.

  17. Yeah Levon, I hope these comments get spread on our blogs. Spread them everyone, to Noquarter, Taylor Marsh, Left Coaster, and even other sites like mydd and on threads everywhere, THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN DOES NOT WANT, NOR DOES IT THINK IT NEEDS OUR VOTES IN NOVEMBER TO WIN. They will win….lol….with a coalition of African Americans, students, and liberal elitists….lol. Wow. Forget Catholics, Jews, Latinos, WOMEN, union voters, gays, Asian Americans, and the rural folk…we don’t want them anymore. We want the taste of that McGovernesque coalition, it tasted soooo good before….oh wait, it had a bad after taste of Nixon!

  18. “Sonia” do you ever get tired of trolling? You’re quite an embarassment to trolls in general.

You know, a purposeful misspelling of “loser” and syntactical errors is the oldest and cheesiest way to pretend you don’t master the English grammar.

Just go away. Most people here ignore you anyways.

  19. hawk, his arrogance is astounding. Republicans are going to line right up to vote for the incompentant fool with the crazy preacher whose best friend is a terrorist. God! obama is the only thing that could make disaffected Republicans BEG to vote for Mccain.

  20. They lost me a long time ago when all of our candidates were still in the race. Never Obama, never. I will be spreading all of our dirt on republican blogs, to republicans in Iowa, and doing anything I can to end his joke of a burden he calls a campaign.

  24. birdgal,

Forget the typos. It drives me crazy that admin doesn’t have software that allows us to edit, but I gave up on it a long ago. If it doesn’t change the meaning of your post, Fuggettaboutit.

  25. Norma Desmond, thanks for all the work the Florida people are doing. Many traveled in buses for 18 hours to get to the Rules Committee meeting. Another 18 hours to get back to disenfranchised Florida. We heard 300 of the rally attendees were from Florida.

  26. Paul: The video is from Rev. Manning is a great one, thanks for the link.

However, I don’t understand his explanation for not releasing the damaging info about waffles (assuming he has it). Did anyone else get what he was trying to say regarding that?

  27. was not he supposed to win both MT and SD?.media said Obama would easily win MT and SD.

does not dnc realize that he has not won but lost close to million votes and 30-40 delegates to hillary since the wright,s tape ,

and now he can,t win ,

  28. terry was on JOHN STEWART SHOW ,
he was very happy and he said “ hillary was going to white house“

yayyyy i think they have something ,,i hope so

  29. Admin, it is true. WE took those buses FILLED with SUPPORTERS OF ALL CANDIDATES (108 from Jacksonville alone who were supporters of Obama) and many from the Panhandle who were as well…but who BELIEVE IN THE RIGHT to have OUR VOTES COUNT …MORE than they believe in Howard Dean and Brazile’s pretty “concessions”

Of course, the AP (imagine) reported it as buses filled with “Hillary Supporters” and it was an OUTRIGHT LIE. One of our volunteers FINALLY got them to change a caption on a picture today that appeared Sunday in the NYT. NO ONE from AP contacted US. They MADE SH** UP.

I was there when the “decision” came. It was quite a blow. But makes us fight on. WE WILL NOT BE DISENFRANCHISED NOR WILL MICHIGAN have THEIR VOTES given away to the loser of their election. THE DNC BROKE THE RULES. Election fraud is illegal.

  30. CRY’S OF SHEAR DESPERATION!!! AIN’T IT FUN!! 😀

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/06/03/pelosi-reid-dean-to-go-pu_n_105052.html

In the absence of a concession speech from Sen. Hillary Clinton on Tuesday night, top figures in the Democratic Party are set to go public, urging all uncommitted officials to declare their presidential affiliations.

Sources have confirmed that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, DNC Chairman Howard Dean, and an official with the Democratic Governors Association are planning to release a public statement on Wednesday morning requesting that the party close its ranks and prepare for the race against Sen. John McCain.

The move, which had been anticipated but seemed unnecessary following Obama’s clinching of the nomination on Tuesday night, is an indication that few figures beyond Clinton’s utmost loyalists are willing to stomach a prolonged vacation period for the New York Democrat to make up her mind.

Obama, regardless of how the remainder of uncommitted officials come down, has declared the mantle of presumptive Democratic nominee. And it seems, at this point, that he is willing to put Clinton behind him in his efforts to focus on the general election match-up.

But during her speech in New York on Tuesday, Clinton offered scant indication that she was fully committed, at this juncture, to getting behind the Illinois Democrat.

“Now the question is, where do we go from here,” Clinton said, “it’s a question I don’t take lightly. This has been a long campaign, and I will be making no decisions tonight. But this has always been your campaign, so to the 18 million people who voted for me and to our many other supporters out there of all ages, I want to hear from you. I hope you’ll go to my website at HillaryClinton.com and share your thoughts with me and help in any way that you can.”

Wednesday’s statement by Democratic leadership seems designed to preempt any thoughts of a continued primary challenge. It declares that Democrats will be united heading towards November, and stresses the need of uncommitted superdelegates to declare their support for a candidate.

You obviously have not done your home work and research. Being aa chicago native, I have, and Obama is seriously lacking. His record is spotty at best and he has done nothing but campaign and write books on our taxpayer dime without doing much in return. I’ve compared his record to Clintons and she works much harder. as far as Iraq, he has changed his tune on that so many damm times. Given his speeches he would have voted for the war had he been in congress. Oh and he did vote for Cheney’s energy bill, and for the tort law (which protects the “little people”, and for the new bankruptcy laws (which protect large corporations).

After reading his books, and everyhting he has written and said, analyzing his associations and his congressional and state records, I do not find him to be the better candidate. But then the Alice Palmer situation said everything about his character I needed to know.

  33. I slept about 4 hours in 56….still don’t have a voice, still not on a real schedule. The work is not finished. We will pressure ALL Candidates to SEAT THE DELEGATION WITH FULL VOTING RIGHTS and COUNT THE VOTES in the National Popular Vote totals. I have received DOZENS of emails today of people who have left the DNC to go Indie. Not ALL of them are HRC supporters either.

  34. Norma

in speaking with the hubby tonight on the phone…….we (3 in my family) will be changing our affiliation to indy
    very soon!

Thank you for all that you are doing!! and for the update!

please do keep us informed on what is going on, and how we can help!

  35. Was not donna brazile supposed to quit??

    wht didn,t she ?

Should we be e-mailing her and reminding her of it -or no

  36. Daily KOS reported that we were a bunch of Hillary surrogates. Seems you cannot have ANY candidate for your PERSONAL CHOICE without being attacked by them as Rabid. It is interesting to note that KOS seems to have no understanding of how the PEOPLE of Florida feel about all this, and instead they have to try and smear a voter’s rights group as a “disguise” for HRC. Again, NO ONE from KOS contacted us. They MADE SH** UP.

There are SEVERAL reporters who I speak with regularly now, and they are NOT one of them. But then, they aren’t journalists either…..

  37. Hillary is nobody’s fool. That is for certain. Going forward I think she will just suspend her active campaigning. The DNC and Obama will go along although not be really that happy. They will feel this may avoid turning off so many of her supporters and give the transition a bit of time. They also may think that since he will control the airwaves that Hillary will be silenced. They will ignore her like they did Huckabee after Super Tuesday. But she will be working behind the scenes all the time getting her delegates in order. Hillary will also convince them that a fair and open vote at the convention with Hillary officially still in, will allow the Party to claim Obama was chosen by the voters and not the Party leadership. (Of course we know this is a lie. But that is another story.)

She gains time, in that there will not be a formal vote until Denver and lots can happen between now and then. She will look like a team player. And she can not be forced into campaigning for Obama. If she can keep hold of her Supers, it will be a close vote at the convention. She may be able to pull it off at the last minute. We have two months to go. That is a long time in politics. By the time Denver rolls around, the GOP attack machine will have made mince meat out of Obama. He will look very weak and be down in the polls. Super Woman may very well be asked to come to save the day.

So this is the compromise I think that will be agreed upon over the next few days. There is something for everyone. Including us!

  38. Despite clever spin from Obama’s supporters about avoiding “guilt by association,” much more is involved than casual association with people like Jeremiah Wright and Father Pfleger.

In addition to giving $20,000 of his own money to Jeremiah Wright, as a state senator Obama directed $225,000 of the Illinois taxpayers’ money for programs run by Father Pfleger. In the U.S. Senate, Obama earmarked $100,000 in federal tax money for Father Pfleger’s work. Giving someone more than 300 grand is not just some tenuous, coincidental association.

    Irrelevant Apologies

  39. I haven’t been on this board in a few months because I wanted to STEP AWAY from the perception that if I support ANYONE but Obama I am a shill for someone else. I resent the hell out of that.

WHO I REPRESENT is the VOTERS OF FLORIDA. Period.

Huff Post published all my MASSIVE donations to the Clinton Campaign….(still under $1000.00 in OVER A YEAR) becauSe they think that PROVES The ORGANIZATION is fake. But I would like them to interview all the OBAMA SUPPORTERS who are MAXED OUT who are members and volunteers and STILL SUPPORT the rights of Voters EVERywhere.

Ok, I have to admit this manning video is irritating me tonight. This guy went around saying he had incriminating stuff with evidence on Obama that would end his campaign. He said he would release that info right after June 3 and now he makes this video saying that he won’t do any such thing because Dems don’t deserve to win as a party.

  41. Are you guys hearing this shit? Dean/Pelosi/Reid sending a “stern” letter that supers declare in the absence of Hillary conceding? WTF is wrong with these effing morons?

  42. ahhhhhhhhh poor bambi! makes ya wanna cry don’t it?…….. i was talking to bambi not you guys LOL

    OLBERMANN: Right

MATTHEWS: And it’s supposed to be about a headline going around the world, the shot heard round the world, in everywhere, in Timbuktu, people are getting up, six billion people, and reading an African American, me, has just become the nominee of a major political party, and yet all the buzz tonight including here is about whether Hillary might be interested in sharing this honor. ———————————————–
These are very stupid people. On the one hand they want the Clintons who they have trashed to turn around and unify the party. On the other hand they want to deny Hillary and her supporters an opportunity to decompress and decide what to do next. They are Guiness book incomptent. Even bambi is smarter than them saying he will meet with her when she wants to. And he is a few french fries short of a happy meal.

Nice look at how things might go.

No one anticipates the R’s hitting BO with full shots till after the convention.
But I can see more unforced errors coming on BO’s side quite easily.

  52. One way or another, BO is checkmated: if he asks Hillary to be VP or if he doesn’t ask her. If she says yes or if she refuses. It like a no-win situation for him. He tried to eliminate her in order to run unopposed just as he eliminated Alica Palmer in order to run unopposed, just as he eliminated the competition for the US Senate. But he didn’t, and he still hasn’t.

I don’t know ANY “rumors” about what other people have or have not given. It is not my business nor my concern. FEC Regulations report ALL donations over $200.00. Now, just because it took me 4-5 months to even GET to $200 isn’t a big deal. As I said, we will press ALL CANDIDATES to support COUNTING THE ENTIRE DELEGATION (Including those of Obama and Edwards) with 100% voting rights. Also, the popular vote totals.

Proctological… I think this was unnecessary (this is why I don’t post much..)

My post was meant to be informational about what Manning has been like. He does not deserve all that praise.

  59. Thanks, Admin!

I really like that video; it was better than I expected and really summarizes what we are feeling, including wanting to boycott CNN.

The Bambian aides who spoke with Simon are absolutely insane. And to that I say “good.” Bambi is going to lose and it is we who are going to seal his fate.

Keep in mind that the guy won less votes in his own damn primary! If a minority of one party thinks that it can continue to be arrogant, pathetic pr_cks and not be sent into McGovern-land, by all means let them proceed.

People were talking about the figures for AA’s as a % of the electorate, etc. Expect to hear a LOT more about this and expect a lot of bull kaka coming from the isolated Bambians and their Latte Liberal White Guilted media lapdogs trying to overstate the numbers.

AA’s made up but 11% of the 2004 electorate based on exit polling data:

(from a CNN 2004 election poll whose link won’t post)

    That’s right, about 1 in 10. That’s it.

If you want to see how much of an effect this will have relative to the skewed results of the 9 in 10 lockstep voting in the southern Black Belt states, all you need to do is compare Bambi’s wins in South Carolina (27%) or North Carolina (14%) with how he is polling in those states today.

    Hint: He’s losing

What this means is that those states have relatively high percentages of AA’s, an even higher proportion of AA’s in the Dem Party and those voters went for him at a 9 in 10 clip. So you get results that look good in a primary but mean jack in a general. And thus, you see Bambi trailing Mac (and HRC) in North Carolina in today’s polling of the state.

That is the reality of constituting 11% of the national electorate.

Now, Bambi has gotten more AA’s to register this season. That is true. So maybe their number grows to 12% or even 13% of the electorate. Maybe.

But you’re still talking about less than 1 in 6 voters.

Not to mention that Bambi has tanked with Latinos (8% in 2004) and Asians (2%), which is really going to hurt him if he is nominated. And the Latino populations, as we all know, certainly hasn’t diminished any in the last 4 years.

Getting 9/10 votes of any demographic is impressive and certainly a very helpful part of being competitive in an election.

But it’s not enough for Bambi to overcome the huge deficits he faces among other groups. The same deficits which the party leaders know he has; the same deficits which he has had since Mid-March and the torrent of negative news from Wright forward; the same deficits which have led to his being crushed by nearly 650,000 votes against HRC since Mar 3.

12% of the electorate isn’t going to save Bambi.

    *

As far as the Democratic Party goes, AA’s make up between 25-30% of our numbers. This is a large figure, relatively speaking, and combined with the MSM and the effete, jealous elites could be enough to over-ride the will of both the registered Dem voters and the general primary electorate who voted for HRC by majorities. We’ll see.

However, this % is still a minority, decidedly. There are two majorities in the Dem Party: Women (52+%) and whites (don’t know the figure).

The Obamans are now — if Bambi is nominated — going from extremely shallow, gamed-out waters (that were mostly traversed pre-Wright in Feb when the delegate lead was built-up) to very deep, very hostile, very demographically-different environs. It is going to be a totally separate event, one which Bambi is very likely to be routed in, even with a dispirited GOP and a non-traditional GOP candidate in McCain.

Wright, typical white person, Pfleger, etc. have doomed Bambi. There is no coming back, and pretty much all parties save the hard-core Kool Aiders know this. You are going to start seeing the real damage which has occurred since WrightGate broke.

The Bambian aides only know bullying and attempted strong-arming, and that is why their graveyard whistling sound so tin-eared: It is. But this is all they know and because they think it has worked for them so far, they are going to continue it until Bambi is blown-out in November if he’s nominated.

You will hear all manner of completely unrealistic, pie in the sky stories about Bambi opening up states in the south and the west. These stories are either utter crap (like Cynthia Tucker’s delusion about Georgia being competitive) or else irrelevant (Nebraska).

But this is all that they have. There is only so far to go when you lost the popular vote in your own primary and you’re calling people ‘typical white person’ as well as having 20-year spiritual mentors who *heart* Lou Farrakhan and who are taunting the USA 5 days after 9/11.

Bambi is circumscribed by all this. He is very limited in how many people and locales he can succeed with. And so, you will hear are kind of bogus scenarios in order to try to paint over this reality.

And the Bambians will continue their bluster. This is all they know, and they couldn’t change if they tried. We saw that tonight on CNN & MSNBC. All they can do is
    insult, threaten, demean, etc.

Only when and if Bambi gets to the general election, the MSM and the effete Dem elites will not be able to game-out results for him, or disenfranchise voters.

He is going to get destroyed. We are going to help in his destruction. And the 11% of the electorate who went 9/10ths can’t prevent that. They know it, we know it. The bluster and bribe season is over, and boy are the Bambians in for a VERY rude awakening.

    Can’t wait.

The Clintons and their supporters now hold ALL the cards. Some Bambian aides (or all of them) might not like that but this is irrelevant. We can, and we will, decide this election and in around 5 months from now with either Prez Clinton or McCain, we can begin to undo the enormous damage which the Bambians wrought.

6 months from now, we will never have to worry about Bambi again except as a Kerry-esque Senate novelty. He will have been defeated and will never resurface as a Prez contender again.

Can’t wait and looking forward to help in making that happen, whether he’s nominated or not.

  61. wbboei..I have not watched the news, I have not kept abreast of the gossip. This work is way too important to be distracted by things…including blogs. I just dropped in tonight to read what was going on and when I saw Admin had posted about FL and MI, I had to say hello. THESE TWO ISSUES are my passion right now, and that will parlay into a full dedication to AMERICAN voter’s rights over the long term.

There are MANY “botched” and questionable elections in the country. SOMEONE needs to do the watching and work towards reform. I guess that will be us.

It is a challenge I honor and am humbled by.

  62. Thanks, Admin, for posting that video! I think Manning does a great job explaining how we HRC supporters feel.

I tried to make a longer post about AA national and Democratic Party demographics. I’ll just post the figures here.

Based on 2004 presidential election exit polling:

AA’s make up 11% of the national electorate

Based on a recent talk given by AA scholars:

AA’s make up 25-30% of the Dem Party

The national number is low, not far above the number for Latinos (8%). And we know about Bambi’s Latino issues.

The figure in the Dem Party is much greater, but still a decided minority to both the white and female majorities in the party.

    Bottom line:

Those Bambian aides talking like they don’t need HRC supporters are beyond insane. Bambi is going to get blown-out in November, and it is going to be because of HRC people.

Just more kaka bluster from the Bambians. Aren’t they just so cute?

Hillary Clinton has made her vast experience a central theme of her campaign – and among those voters who said that was the top quality they were looking for in a presidential candidate, she was the undisputed choice in tonight’s exit polls: they chose her over Barack Obama by 93 to 7 percent in South Dakota, and 94 to 4 percent in Montana.

  68. That letter Arriana Huff n’ Puff is citing is a great laugh. Pelosi/Dean are going to send a “stern” letter to superdelegates to get behind B.O. If the superdelegates don’t do as they are told, they will then get a strongly worded letter to their parents. Detention after school is next. They might even put a letter in their permanent record.

Pelosi/Dean should check out what happened to MarDee in Massachusetts. Pelosi/Dean should also check out what happened earlier tonight in South Dakota. Hillary has 18 million voters supporting her. Hillary supporters will support Hillary supporters.

We Hillary supporters need to send a sternly worded letter to the Pelosi/Dean types who don’t understand the danger they are courting. Daschle got his letter tonight in South Dakota; Kennedy/Kerry got their letter when Hillary won Massachusetts.

  69. In Montana, voters who said having a president who cares about people was their priority split their votes almost evenly between the two candidates: Clinton had a 47 to 43 percent edge. But in South Dakota, which Clinton won, a significant majority of those voters – 60 percent – gave her the edge.

Schneider: Voters say Clinton is more caring(cnn)

  70. Don’t stop repeating this number:

    EIGHTEEN MILLION,
    EIGHTEEN MILLION,
    EIGHTEEN MILLION

    😀

  71. Enough frivolity. Back to the subject at hand. I believe she should press forward to the presidency and go to the convention. Alot can happen during the next 3 months in terms of new revelations on bambi. And hillary supporters need to control the message.

The good news from tonight is she finished strong, won south dakota, won Hispancs, won the popular vote, won the electroral map, kept faith with her supporters, proved big media wrong and was enigmatic re. her next step which is exactly what I would have advised.

So she takes a few days off, stennie hoyer puts his world renowned sleeper hold on the supers and hillarys supporters rebuff the phoney call for unity. Then the Republican machine starts going after him. She will come back and defend him against those attacks even though he does not deserve it. She will support the party but continue to keep all options open.

Just wanted to say one thing on Pejoksi, Reid, etc:

Eff off you 16% approval rating losers. Nobody gives a sh_t what you think, and in case you didn’t get the memo, there are no more committees to rig.

That is, you’re fresh out of power plays.

Hillary is in until SHE decides she wants out. The ‘magic number’ of 2118 didn’t change that, nor did Bambi’s crossing it while getting owned in South Dakota stop us from donating to HRC tonight or urging her to go to Denver.

You don’t control anything anymore, as should be the case.

A majority of your party’s voters selected Clinton. And that majority will ensure your Messiah’s defeat in November should you overturn the will of the people and nominated him. And the more you pull crap like this, the surer the rout will be.

You, Nana Pelosi, should be ashamed. You ought not let your “Queen Bee” issues interfere with doing the right thing by girls and women throughout America. But you don’t care, White Flag Nancy, and so we don’t give a rat’s ass about you (well, actually, we gave up on you a long time ago when you kept giving-in to Bush) or what you say.

If every last SD comes out tomorrow (which is doubtful as SD’s are still coming out for HRC) for Bambs, it doesn’t matter. Because nobody has voted yet and Popular Vote Winner can do as she chooses.

Deal with it. Nobody is rescuing you or Bambi from what you all have done. You broke it, you own it and we’re not doing you any favors.

It hurts because the longer the question remains open the harder it is to write history. A true readind of history would show that their own mysoginism was a major factor, and that woud be their obituary. So l say let them twist in the wind–it will be good for them.

The bottom line on the ‘detention’ letter is that these people have no more leverage against Hillary. They effed her over at the RBC meeting, they have done everything but send her to the guillotine and now they, quite simply, don’t have any meaningful threats left. There isn’t anything which they can do to her (or to her supporters who they need), and all sides know it.

This is like Reid writing the letter about Limbaugh. Inevitably, it will be used against these morons.

When you “ride-or-die” with a bunch of loser also-rans like Kerry, Kennedy, Biden, etc., eventually you cease riding and hit the ground because of moves like this one.

Losers lose; that’s what they do. And no one knows how to lose better than Bobby Rush Bambi, the 16%ers and the Prez also-rans.

  92. Most Vicious Propaganda in American History
    Posted at 7:12 pm

    http://www.stop-obama.org/?p=493#more-493

The media are introducing and stoking mass hysteria and disinformation into our politics. We let them get away with it, because we are powerless to do otherwise. Someday, let’s hope, that will change. For now-

Obama has not won, nor will he win, unless two things happen first-

    1) Secures 2210 votes in Denver.
    2) Clinton leaves/quits the race.

Any unpledged delegate endorsement of Obama at this point, cannot be considered equivalent to a nomination. To claim otherwise, is ignorance. These delegates can switch around from candidate to candidate, and declare the world flat – what matters is their vote in Denver, not on CNN.

Obama failed to secure the pledged delegate total, and he has failed to win the popular vote. Right now, the announcements of unpledged delegates have no legal value, just like the announcements being made by the media about an Obama victory, are worthless.

The number 2109 is meaningless, as it leaves enough undeclared unpledged delegates, to make it null and void. As of writting, 218 upledged delegates remain undeclared – it takes nothing for Clinton to overtake the number 2109 if these delegates show their cards.

Right now, the headlines in the media are outright lying to the American public. Any claims of an Obama victory amount to the most vicious and irresponsible propaganda campaign of our country’s history. Its objective is clear, to beat Clinton into submission and out of the race.

Do not let it affect you. The best response is to rise up in indignation! The Truth is on Our Side, and the Truth, Sooner or Later, Is Always the Victor.

  95. If this is the tape, The democratic party is fucked.

What’s on the Michelle Obama Rant Tape?
    Here’s what’s known so far:

The Michelle Obama Rant Tape was filmed between June 26th – July 1st 2004 in Chicago, IL at the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition Conference at Trinity United Church: specifically the Women’s Event.

Michelle Obama appeared as a panelist alongside Mrs. Khadijah Farrakhan and Mrs. James Meeks.

Bill Clinton spoke during the Conference, as did Bill Cosby and other speakers, but not at the panel Michelle attended.

Michelle Obama spoke at the Women’s Event, but referenced Bill Clinton in her rant — his presence at the conference was the impetus for her raving, it seems.

For about 30 minutes, Michelle Obama launched into a rant about the evils of America, and how America is to blame for the problems of Africa. Michelle personally blamed President Clinton for the deaths of millions of Africans and said America is responsible for the genocide of the Tutsis and other ethnic groups. She then launched into an attack on “whitey”, and talked about solutions to black on black crime in the realm of diverting those actions onto white America. Her rant was fueled by the crowd: they reacted strongly to what she said, so she got more passionate and enraged, and that’s when she completely loses it and says things that have made the mouths drop of everyone who’s seen this.

The “tape” is a DVD that Trinity United sold on its website, and possibly offered free for download up until March 2008 when Trinity’s site was scrubbed and the DVDs were no longer offered for sale.

This outburst happened just one month before the 2004 Democratic Convention, when Barack Obama delivered the keynote address.

She posts good stuff. She cares about Hillary or she wouldn’t keep posting here with your abuse. English is her second language. How would you sound trying to post in Hindi?

ADMIN, I wish you would step in here.

    1950democrat = turndownobama

  106. I heard Wexler told a group in Florida yesterday that once Obama sews up the nomination he will have Florida and Michigan seated and restore their full votes. Well according to him and the DNC he has the nomination so restore their full votes now!!

  107. I think it’s time to decide which candidate is most like Bush. Obama in a landslide. (The only vote I will give Obama.) Bush-lite. That’s what he called Hillary. That makes ….. ta-da! John McCain the candidate of change!

Bush/Obama/Bush/Obama/ linked by arrogance and ignorance.

  108. If they restore FL and MI, Obama falls short again!

That’s why they are in a lather to get Hillary to withdraw because he really doesn’t have enough delegates.

  109. The longer it takes to have the fill votes of FL and MI restored the angrier the voters will become ensuring McCain will win both in the fall if bambi is the nominee.

  110. MOONPLUTO,
I am so FURIOUS at myself for not buying the Best of Wright DVDs.s!
i posted here in February asking for people to go in with me on the purchase of the tapes but when i didn’t get any response I figured I was making too much of it!

As usual, my intuition was RIGHT!!!!!!! F**K!!!!!!
On a positive note, i KNOW other HRC supporters have the DVD’s as a couple of people on TM said they have been archiving everything about TUCC, Wright, Waffles, for the past year, including the DVD’s and if the DNC denies her the nomination, they intend to release all the info. And I’m sure they’re not the only ones who bought the tapes. I mean, i was THIS close to plunking down the hundred bucks on my cc even without the input of 44 people! 👿

  113. Reid/Pelosi/Dean To Send Stern Letter
By Big Tent Democrat, Section Elections 2008
Posted on Wed Jun 04, 2008 at 12:32:02 AM EST

    This is hilarious:

In the absence of a concession speech from Sen. Hillary Clinton on Tuesday night, top figures in the Democratic Party are set to go public, urging all uncommitted officials to declare their presidential affiliations.

Sources have confirmed that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, DNC Chairman Howard Dean, and an official with the Democratic Governors Association are planning to release a public statement on Wednesday morning requesting that the party close its ranks and prepare for the race against Sen. John McCain.

How ridiculous can these people be? Obama declared victory tonight. NOW they want to send a stern letter? Man, are Democrats stupid not sharp.

By Big Tent Democrat, speaking for me only

  114. Remember all the headlines and other comments about “Hillary wants the VP spot” ?

Notice she isn’t begging for it. If Obama wants to win the GE, he had better begin to beg her for it, and he had better hope she accepts it.

    I hope she doesn’t.

That blog post makes me wonder if any libraries around Trintity have that tape. Since it was being sold on their website, they may have donated copies to local groups and public libraries.

    ………………………..

I am sure there are many copies floating around, and Hillbuzz says it’s a DVD

  117. I totally agree with Admin. We will not accept anything less than a Hillary nomination as PRESIDENT and not VP as some here are suggesting. I will not vote an Obama ticket no matter who is on the VP slot. The world is just too much of an unsafe place for an Obama presidency. It is either Clinton or McCain. For those of you contemplating supporting Obama if Hillary is the VP (which I again assure you she will not be) or for any other reasons (loyalty to the Party etc.), then we will soon part ways my friends. Our swords will cross as I would rather politically die a Clinton loyalist rather than sell my soul to a tool of evil.

    Hillary is the best choice
    McCain is a distant second
Obama is a no choice. Under any circumstances.

  118. I love you Hillary and I always will. There is no woman I have known with such grit & determination. You finished the race & I admire you for that. You did it the only way you knew how. If America even remotely got a sense of what it is like to have a woman as a commander in chief – it is thanks to you!!!

If there ever will be a woman president of this country – you will be the first. If not we will not see another woman come to this for another 50 or 100 years!!!

Now – Bambi – I know you will win the General. But, I want you to lose. That will be the best slap for the super delegates who made wrong choices and the democrats. democrats are losers. They need this slap.
I am sorry hardcore democrats here – that is just the way I feel.

I read this site every day – for those who has been here for long – know me.

MJ, Kostner & Torrent and others…

I haven”t written much as I didn’t want to jinx her victory – well, now that’s gone down the drain. What the heck – Our girl stands tall & proud.

Here is to Hillary Clinton the fighter who has never say die spirit!!

  119. Now – I will jump onto to Good old John Mccain. I want him to win & more badly I want Bambi to lose.

  120. Hillary is not VP material, she is Presidential material. I sincerely hope that she does not accept the offer of VP or for that matter a cabinet position! She represents us and this has happened to us many times!

So did Gerry Ferraro through Hillary under the bus last night???

  121. I have been watching the Obama people who have been placed in leadership positions in this state.

There plan for victory is the young voters, and they are conducting voter registration like crazy.

They are showing Hillary supporters complete indifference. They have been disrespecting them all along. For instance completely ignornng her victory here.

  122. I just read upthread that Obama supporters pushed their way to the signing line last night to scream at her to concede and called her a liar!

How can Obama supporters do this? I will never vote for this imposter ever. I will never be a Democrat again!

  123. Maybe some of you here can share with the rest of us, exactly on what basis you are seeing in your crystal ball that Hillary will not be the nominee, that Obama will win the GE? Of course, it’s a rough road ahead of us, but it is not over by any stretch.

I would like to invite you to do a short review of American political convention history (you can Google this to find lots of wonderful info on this topic). You will discover an entire different universe than the one being created for you by the media. One that has a lot more exciting adventures and surprise winners than you might expect.

The media has never had so much sway over the minds of people as they do now. Witness the recent Gallop poll that reported that most Americans did not see the media as biased during the nomination contest. Proof enough that they have brainwashed successfully most of the population into believing they are fair and unbiased.

It’s a long way to Tipperary. but it is not over until it is over. Don’t bury Hillary yet.

  124. confloyd

That is exactly what I meant about disrespect. That happened when Bush ran against Kerry, and they would send flip floppers to the Kerry events, which were open, and theirs were by invitation only.

I agree, he is very like Bush, and the Dems don’t even notice. In fact, they act like they want that.

  125. His event in Las Cruces was changed from a town hall to an invitation only. Sound familiar?

  126. Paddy,

Morning, or rather good evening to you. 🙂

May i ask if you were able to watch the Rules and By-laws Committee farce on Saturday? o9r the RBC August 25, 2007 meeting during which Ralph Dawson, Alice germond and the inimitable Cruella stripped Florida of all its delegates?

If you haven’t seen them, I will try to send you links to the videos. In this case SEEING the smug smarmy pompous expression on the a$$wipes faces and HEARING the condescending, dismissive, gloating tones in their voices tell you everything you need to know about the real agenda. This was a set-up. Everyone knows it. I hate to say it but I think HRC’s only 2 recourses are the legal one (and who knows if that can be resolved before Denver) and the whitey-gate tape emerging. Don’t get me wrong. No way I believe Waffles can win the GE.

What’s your take on the videos?

  127. **************************************************************************************************************************************************************

MJ, Kostner – where are you guys??????????????????? Any old guys still around???????????

    Anyone who remember me????

    **************************************************************************************************************************************************************

  128. Basil,
Isn’t there a clip of Brazille about an hour into one of them where she talks about AA’s picking the next prez?

If so, got a link for it?

  129. clintondem99

Thank you. Was that a large % of the total, or did she lose staying close. Montana, as I understand it is not a high population state.

  130. I am so ashamed of the Democratic party. Senator has hit most of the goals set for her, and exceeded them. There appears to be no political goals for Senator Obama, and when he sets them, and does not meet them, they change the goals.

They deserve to lose in November, if this candidate is their ultimate choice in August. It is hard for me to understand how the leadership will not does not want to face reality. They talk about Senator Clinton facing reality when they are ignoring the national polls and shoving things down the throats of their members. In a Democracy, people shove back.

  131. blue dem,

That wasn’t on the RBC video but it was mentioned in several articles which I have archived . . . somewhere. I’ll try and find them today.

The END of the RBC clip, approximately the last 10 minutes or so, is ALL Cruella and what might not be clear by just reading the transcript is undeniable when watching and listening to her presentation, just as was obvious on the faces and in the tones of Germond, Dawson and the chairperson in the Saturday 5/31 RBC meeting. (IMHO)

  132. From a TM poster about candidates with the most popular votes but not pledeged delegates taking it to the convention and winning.

General Eisenhower had entered the Presidential race late. By the time he had Robert Taft had won many of the early primaries. Eisenhower rapidly came close to reaching parity with Taft in delegates. Taft delegates however, still outnumbered Eisenhower delegates so Eisenshower’s campaign resorted to challenging the credentials of some of the delegates. They ran a public relations campaign whose theme was old politicians who made backroom deals with the new statesmanship of Eisenhower. The challenges succeeded and Eisenhower was only nine delegates short on the first vote. On the second vote Eisenhower won the nominations.

  133. I need to educate myself more about how the convention votes work. But given how the Party has treated Hillary throughout this election, how does she get delegates on the second vote to cross over to her side? Are there enough of them who would do that?

  134. Good Morning!

Last night speech was great! I hope Hillary makes the right choice. I let her know how I felt about the Democratic Party on her web site! It made me feel better that I had an opportunity to speak my mind (what little I have left 🙂 )

Also,I read on HillBuzz the artical regarding Michelle Obama and her rant. After reading the artical it makes me feel some confident that the tape does exists (however seeing is believing 🙂 ). I hope it is released today! On a different topic, Tony Rezko trial is the jury STILL out? and (if anyone knows) when a verdict will come in?

  135. Had a minute to spare, and thought I’d stick my head in and say “hello”.

    DENVER! DENVER! DENVER!

  136. I think the MSM (probably someone at Fox) has the “Whitey” tape but they don’t plan to show it until after August. However, with this new information, I expect to see the rant on YouTube before I see it on TV. Once it hits the Net, it should grow legs really fast.

  137. Hillary should seriously consider running as independent. because most of democratic will support her. republicans are not happy with McCain and most of them can not stomach BHO. Hillary has a good chance to win 270 electrals.

    ———————————————-
meiyingsu that option continues to intrigue me. Bluedem has been pushing for it for several months. The benefits are obvious whereas the pitfalls are less clear. It would be tough for the Clintons to leave the party they have served and headed up but with the lunacy that now rules the root at the dnc it is arguable that they would not be leaving the party so much as the party would be leaving them. At one time I had a business relationship with the lawfirm that handled the Perot campaign. If I could remember their name and the attorney who did our work I could ask him, but as I recall one of the big hurdles was getting on the ballot in all 50 states. Assuming that is doable there would be futher questions to consider to determine whether it is even viable.

  139. meyingsu

I would like her to run as an independent also. I wish she would consider it. There will be a lot of unhappy voters in 2008 voting for the lesser of two evils. We need a better choice.

  140. I think the Democratic Party has deserted the Clintons. They have had the only successful administration in many years, and have done many political favors for people. Practically every one of them betrayed them.

You need to find a new group, when the old group shits on you.

  141. Too bad SNL cannot do a slant on the tape. That might flush it out, just to show what really happened. But by then, I would think they could doctor the tape.

Wish the tape would come out.

  142. A Word of advice to the brave souls that want to place anti-Obama signs and stickers on their cars. You will have to be very cautious about where you choose to drive and park. There are more than a few Cult weirdos that will give your cars the switchblade treatment,as they have done to those of us that display Hillary signs in many of our cities.

Just a word to the wise. THINK by ABM90

  143. I’ve been reading through all the entries from last night, and am awestruck at the great support that Hillary has. Her opponent supporters, the DNC, and the media, are some of the most vile, vitrolic, and hatred filled people in this country. How dare them, to disrupt Hillary’s rally. What idiots. Their campaign is hypocrisy, personified. Unity? What a bunch of hooey. If they keep on behaving this way towards Hillary and her 18 million supporters, they will have even less cross over than they have now. What they don’t remember, is that the baby boomer generation is larger than the younger generation. They need us, but many of us, will go to McCain.

  144. I keep thinking of what Bill Clinton said a few months ago: “If they keep talking about you dropping out, then it is because they are afraid that you will win.” The words may not be exact, but the message is the same. Hillary is still a threat. Otherwise, why wouldn’t they just leave her alone?

  145. Secret,

    Need Organizers ASAP!

We need to get State organizers scrambled ASAP to keep another deadline from slipping away. Are there already official Hillary supporters for every state that can get this started?

  149. One argument is why in the world would the RNC release that tape before the Denver Convention? Do they not want to go up against Hillary, when they can beat BHO.? If the tape exists will it come out when it helps them the most. The other argument is the unfavorability of McCain by his own party, they may realease the tape to knock both BHO and McCain out giving Hillary the nod, but not likely.

Either way I personally really don’t care because for me this isn’t about any of them.

When we clearly had a candidate that would have brought true reform to our government, who had the leadership needed to achieve the goals, solve the problems we face and bring integrity to the white house, who understood the complexity of politics and the needs of the American people and for all intents and purpuses could have truly unified the entire country not just the democratic party, WE allowed that to be stripped away because WE did not fight back.

This is not a personal attack on the people that managed to get their voices heard on the blogs, or those that sent money or volunteered for the number of unthankful assignments. This is a blanket attack on every American that sat back and expected the world handed to them on a silver platter.

If we do not participate in our government, our government will shut us out.

For each supporter of Hillary I ask, is there one more person we could talk to, is there 1 more minute we could spare, or 1 more dollar to contribute.

I ask you now are you through or are you concerned enough to continue to fight for yourselves? Truly this is what it means, not just a candidate but ourselves. Is it not time to take back our party, our government and our country?

Do we want just a historical moment or do we want a president?

(thanks for allowing me my rant)

  150. This poster from TM describes my feelings and reasons, why I could never, ever, vote for BHO:

A vote for Barack Obama would be a tacit validation of the ugly, sexist, misogynistic, vile, cruel, meanspirited, viscious treatment that Hillary has received from the Democratic Party, from the media, from the Obama campaign and from the Obama supporters.

A vote for Barack Obama would be putting a stamp of approval on the Democratic Party as the party of disenfranchisement and the party of SILENCE in the face of Misogyny.

The Democratic Party, the media, and Barack Obama tried to crush Hillary Clinton and wipe her off the face of the earth. They insulted and demeaned all of her supporters and they slapped us across the face by taking away our votes.

I personally can NEVER condone any of that by voting for the coronated one. For those and for a thousand other reasons I will NEVER vote for Senator Obama, with or without Hillary as VP. Hillary can only hurt herself by accepting VP and she is too smart for that.

  151. basil9,

That’s very interesting. We can start to work on this project now. We should select some key swing states that will likely doom Obama’s any chance.

OH, PA, MI etc. It is VERY VERY DURABLE!!!

  152. Actually an indy candidate only has to be on a few states ballots. States where they have the best chance of winning those states. If an indy could win a couple of states that might be enough to send the election to the house of representatives. Once there anything can happen.

  153. Texan: what you reported about the screaming bots bothers me. The secret service should have attended to this matter. If I had been there I am pretty sure I would have knocked their block off.

Years ago a politican who was a dear friend of mine was attacked by a radical leftist at a public event. He threw a bucket of salmon guts on her. He was arrested immediately. I suggested we get the Capitol Hill police involved and they were very aggressive. But public figures need protection.

  154. This is do-able …….but i have one question

Can WE put hillary’s name on the ballot as a independant …….without her??

  155. That is right, if we only need electorial votes to do this, and not popular votes, we only need the key and swing states.

  156. NewMexicoFan,

The priority is to screw up DNC and Pelosi democrats first. So we only need very few swing states…

If what you are saying is true then she could file New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, West Virginia and take chances in the House. You realize of couse who the speaker of the house is? Yes the drag queen. Putting that inconvenient fact to the side for a moment let me put the hard question to you: what is your gut reaction to this option of her running as an independent. Is it possible? Is it politically promising. Trust me whatever you do not know about this compared to me you are an expert.

I can help get signatures here in Calif but I can’t organize for medical reasons. We have to make sure that the signatures we get should be compliant to the rules. Alice Palmer and others were removed by the BO people from the IL ballot due to problems with the signatures.

  168. djia,

I believe lots of giddy GOP operatives/Rush Limbugh will also like this idea. They will have the money and manpower to help us to get Hillary’s name on the ballot.

Yeah, we have different philosophy with those GOPers, but our goal at this moment is the same: Defeat WAffles at any cost.

Sometimes, politics does make strange bedfellow. We need to spread the words to McCain supporters, GOPers and let them lend us a hand.

  169. Jimmy carter doin their dirty work for them. Just shows they want her TOTALLY out of the picture, which means there’s nothing left to do but fight.

Their loyalty to this ‘party’ is way beyond me….

Barack Obama should not pick Hillary Clinton as his vice-presidential nominee, former president Jimmy Carter has told the Guardian.
“I think it would be the worst mistake that could be made,” said Carter. “That would
just accumulate the negative aspects of both candidates.”
Carter, who formally endorsed the Illinois senator last night, cited opinion polls showing 50% of US voters with a negative view of Clinton.
In terms that might discomfort the Obama camp, he said: “If you take that 50% who just don’t want to vote for Clinton and add it to whatever element there might be who don’t think Obama is white enough or old enough or experienced enough or because he’s got a middle name that sounds Arab, you could have the worst of both worlds.”

    paddy4Hill Says:

I think she will just suspend her campaign to leave her options open. The DNC and Obama will be fine with this. They will feel this may avoid turning off so many of her supporters and give the transition a bit if time.
    &&&&&&&&&&

I agree. She definitely needs to NOT CONCEDE. She needs to get to Denver, and let whatever crap hits the fan about Obama come out between now and August.

    She should state:

“I’ve earned my spot at the convention. I’m willing to abide by whatever the party decides. Obama’s claim to ‘victory’ mixes in the superdelegates. If we look at solely on pledged delegates, his lead over me is too small is a mere125. His 1,762 pledged delegates is far short of the 2,118 needed to win. So his pledged delegate count lead of 125 is his selling point to the SDs. But my lead in the popular vote is one of my arguments to the SDs.

Also, SDs may want to consider that his lead of 125 may wind up being even smaller, because the Credentials Committee will be presented with our challenge about how MI delegates were arbitrarily stripped, and how 55 uncommitted delegates were unfairly put into Obama’s column too early. The 55 uncommitted should have time to wait until the convention. That is the price you pay for taking your name off a ballot for whatever political calculation you make.

SDs may also want to consider that his delegate lead would be cut even further if and when we decide to seat FL and MI at 100%. To deprive me, and the 18,000,000 voters who have supported me, of due process will only harm the Democratic party in November, and beyond. I urge the super delegates to take their time to make a sound decision, one they can be proud of now and later.”

  171. Blue: I have lost all respect that I ever had for Carter. BHO’s negatives are just as high. I am so glad that I changed my voter registration.

  172. also from other thread (I was starting to wonder “where’d everybody go?”):

Second, please come up with additional persuasive arguments for undecided SDs to pledge to Hillary, and for Obama?s SDs to consider their original endorsement.

    a. Automatically siding with him because he?s ahead on pledged delegates (not including SDs) only creates a false sense of party unity. Party Unity has to be earned, and the 18,000,000 of Hillary?s supports need to feel that the nominating process was fair. With the RBC capricious decisions, there is a long way to go before these supporters will feel that a fair game has been played.

    b. SDs should take into consideration how their district or state voted. I understand Maxine Waters? district went with Obama, so her change to Obama?s column was understanable. They should show respect to their own constituents, even if they are retired.

    c. _____

fill in the blanks. Then we hope Clinton?s people start or continue feeding these ideas to the media and SDs, to show she will behave just like Obama would behave if he was thisclose behind her, that she belongs in Denver, and not just a prop for party unity, but to ask for a formal vote count, and to conduct a floor fight if necessary.

  173. I am glad Carter is doing interviews talking up Obama, it just makes the Republican’s case that much stronger when they say an Obama administration would just be another Carter administration. Connect them and Obama sinks even further. They both are wimps and hang out with terrorists.

  174. kostner …I think Clinton has support on all sides of all isles to get her on the ballots

no one has answered my question yet though

“can WE(her supporters) put her name on ballots as a independant with out her permission???”

  175. djia

I am not sure, I remember when perot was on LKL he said if supporters could get him on enough ballots he would run. I guess he gave them permission to try. Will have to ask Okie if her permission is needed.

She doesn’t need justification, of course.

  182. rjk,

  186. Hey, I read this site every day and never post, but a thought occurred to me today.

I’m in South Florida and I will not ever, ever vote for Obama. Has anyone given any thought to mounting legal challenges against the new voter registrations and to the ballot petitions for local Democratic candidates. Debbie Wasserman-Schulz is my rep and she’s a Hillary fan, so I wouldn’t want to do it to her, but what about Wexler?

There’s no way that Obama will win Florida as McCain’s a war hero with a solid gold reputation among the Cubans and the Jewish population. Their perfidy should cost the downstream candidates, though.

  187. I have been reading this website for about a year and I have never posted before. Thanks to all of you for keeping my spirits up.
There were many days when I wanted to throw the television out the window. The way MSNBC, CNN, and the DNC have raped Hillary is disgusting!! Today I changed my party affiliation from Democrat to Independent and it feels great! Hillary owes nothing
to the DNC and I say take it to Denver. Nancy Pelosi and Howard Dean will go down in history as the ones who killed the Democratic party and all it used to stand for.

  188. Is it time for Hillary and Bill, to take a long trip to visit our troops! and maybe visit with leaders in Euroupe? and let Obama stew!

  189. admin,

This is rapidly gaining traction. We need to lay the groundwork for such scenario. We can’t wait for Supers any longer. The training is leaving the station. Here waht I got…

500,000 push for Clinton to run as independent

Most everyone has heard the news that Hillary Clinton decided not to decide about ending her campaign. (I can almost hear the sound of Geddy Lee singing “if you choose not to decide you still have made a choice”…)

What some of you may not have heard is that she has a fan base that would rather see her run as an independent than see Obama elected.

I have no idea how we got on their email list, but we did somehow, and so this morning, we received word that…

HillaryGrassrootsCampaign.com is not associated with the official Hillary Clinton campaign. However, the organization says it is filled with disaffected supporters who are ready to be “former” Democrats because of the contempt and disregard that has been shown to the many party faithful who support Sen. Clinton’s presidential candidacy.

“We’ve already registered more than half-a-million supporters and our numbers are growing daily,” said Robin Carlson, HillaryGrassrootsCampaign.com’s campaign representative. “The treatment from the Democratic Party and the media of this historic candidate has energized voters across our nation,” Carlson added. “To throw that support away with such contempt and disregard would be a huge mistake.”
Some of the comments on their site include Democrats saying they will sooner vote for McCain than Obama. How many of them will still say that in the voting booth in November is still an open question, but none of this is good for Obama.

Neither is the fact that he lost South Dakota.

Where is all this going? Hard to say…

  190. djia

Town Hall Meeting with McCain Starting 17 Jun PERFECT. We get a chance to see how he performs before the convention, and you don’t put Hillary at risk.

    I hope he signs up.

  191. from lanny davis website http://www.womenforfairpolitics.com

Welcome to the Women For Fair Politics Website!
We are a grassroots organization that is reacting to the terrible treatment that Hillary Clinton has received during her historic run for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States. We invite you to peruse this website, join in the conversation, add your suggestions, sign our petitions, and otherwise participate in our community and make it your own. It is only by banding together will we get the word out that the treatment of Senator Clinton by the media and the Democratic party is completely unacceptable. Together we will find a remedy so that NO ONE will have to face what Hillary has endured.

  192. djia,

can you promote the idea of putting Clinton’s name on Nov ballot on lanny davis’ site? I can’t write on every blog to promote this idea. I hope this will catch fire soon…

  193. I hope Hillary supporters understand that political capital will be gone in just one SECOND if we do not use it. Hillary has the leverage now because 18 million voted for her.

If we do not use this to put her name on the ballot in Nov, the Supers will laugh their ass off. The only language they understand the defeat, defeat and defeat.

  194. Does anyone know when this tape will be released??? I have not patience! maybe if this tape is released, there will no need to place Hillary’s name as an Independent!

  195. well well well

I just went to see what i had for mail at the email address i have posted here
and guess who emailed me!! 👿 yep BO campaign
with their little email just before he went on the stage to CROWN HIMSELF

now…. i have not used that email in like forever, which is why i have posted it here
    freely

but i have NEVER!! used it anywhere else during this campaign process…..SOoooooo
how did his campaign get it ???

  196. CNN today:
    Obama Clinton Difference
    Pledged 1762 1637 125
    SD 394 286 108

Let’s crunch down his “official lead” in pledged dels, 125.

    1. CNN is using the 50% allocation of FL (211 dels shrunk to 105). To do what is fair, and smart for Dems, let’s count FL at full value. Why is this fair? Because it is widely being stated that, “Whomever is the nominee will eventually seat those delegations IN FULL” (so as not to piss off vital battleground states). But to only seat them after ignoring their impact is disingenuous, and those voters would still know that each one of their votes was “cut in half”. So repair that by:

    1a. Florida:
    HRC 52 -> 104 (103.5)
    BHO 39 -> 78 (77.5)
    (= 212, so remove 0.5 from each)

    HRC 1637 -> 1740.5
    BHO 1762 -> 1839.5
    Diff 125 -> 99

    1b. Michigan:
    HRC 35 -> 69
    BHO 29 -> 59

    HRC 1740.5 -> 1809.5
    BHO 1839.5 -> 1898.5
    Diff 99 -> 89

Remove 55 assigned to him in MI because he wasn’t on the ballot.
    1898.5 -> 1843.5
    Diff 89 -> 34.5

Remove 4 dels that were swiped from her and given to him (a move that needs to be challenged). Correcting that makes it:

    HRC 1809.5 -> 1813.5
    BHO 1843.5 -> 1839.5
    Diff 34.5 -> 26.5

    &&&&&&
So by “counting every vote”, and not allocating phanton votes in MI, and stealing dels in MI, suddenly Obama’s 1839.5 is nowhere near the REAL FINISH LINE, of 2209, nor anywhere near the old one of 2,025.

But wait, it’s okay for SD’s to pile on now. But back in February, CNN and SDs were very clear that Hillary’s lead in SDs should be treated separately, that it somehow contaminated the clearer picture that unfairly portrayed Obama as being further behind.

Look at the real delegate count, look at your constituents, and SDs should understand that while they are afraid of angering AA voters, they should not so blithely dismiss their base, their older coaltion (women, older voters, middle and lower class, Latino, GLBT, Asian Americans, etc.).

“YESTERDAY’S COALITION” WILL VOTE YOU OUT…TODAY!

  197. oh yes i have, i have used in on all the MSM comment sections
and a few other pro hillary blogs to make comments….

so……. this gets very interesting doesn’t it

who is just giving BO campaign email addys ??

  198. Hillary needs to hear again what Susan B Anthony said.

No self respecting women should wish or support the success of a political party that ignores her.

THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY HAS LET US DOWN. IT IS TIME TO STEP AWAY.

  199. dija: they could have taken the e-mail off this site, as well. There are lurkers. Can you unsubscribe?

The Dem party selected Obama, even though the VOTERS picked Hillary Clinton.Once again, the will of the people was thwarted by those in positions of power.
Now it’s time for Donna Brazile to own up to her words. If she doesn’t, I bet her Mama would be disappointed. Let’s remind her, OK?

==Super-delegate Donna Brazile said to CNN, “If 795 of my colleagues decide this election, I will quit the Democratic Party. I feel very strongly about this.==”

  202. For those contemplating placing Hillary’s name on the ballot, I would probably just pick the states that are currently giving her her over 300 EVs i.e

    California
    OH,
    PA
    MI
    FL
    AR
    MS
    NV
    NY
    NJ
    RI
    etc
and leave the red states alone.

  203. Stunning! New info this morning, at No Quarter:

    —–

  204. Not to pop any bubbles but…..Are we listening? Hillary has stated in unequivocal terms she is dedicated to seeing that a DEMOCRAT is elected president.

I for one take her at her word.

We can defeat BHO. The challenge we face now is how.

I think if we want an independent to run against BHO or McCain we need to look someplace else.

Sonia, excellent find. It shows the hypocrisy, not just from this one, ahem , person. But from the SDs and DNC party heads. They also talk about “let’s count every vote”, but not if it undoes their fixed nomination.

They are too scared to confront the AA bloc. But they’re not scared of the backbone of the Democratic party, the women and lower/middle class people that work the elections in November, make tons of phone calls in October, and knock on doors and put up signs? The Obama folks and Brazile are saying they don’t really need us?

Oh really? You won’t miss like 20 or 30 or 40% of us in November, at the polls and working the districts?

  206. Amazing, that they think, they don’t need Hillary supporters. 18 million voters, and they don’t need us. Amazing. Maybe, they can register 18 million more voters.

I have a lot of friends in Washington DC. Some of them are financial supporters of your law school. I will see what they think. That is not a threat merely an observation

  213. Also, the e-mails from his campaign claiming HRC is holding a gun to his head (which Lanny Davis spoke of) shouldn’t be a surprise to us. I think we have an idea what may be going on behind the scenes here.

  214. debbie wrote: Not to pop any bubbles but…..Are we listening? Hillary has stated in unequivocal terms she is dedicated to seeing that a DEMOCRAT is elected president.

Don’t worry Debbie, Hillary still believes that she can be that Democrat, it’s still way too early to be thinking about a third party run. At this point in time, I’m willing to follow Hillary anywhere including the Obama camp but only until Denver.

I’m okay with Republicans focussing their attacks on him as the presumptive Democratic nominee, it tones down the noise that they usually direct at Hillary.

After Denver, if Democrats insist on nominating a loser, then they deserve to lose. I’ll be Independent without a horse in the race. I don’t think he can win against the Republican machine so it will mean four more years of a Republican President. We survived Bush, we’ll survive McCain. If it results in these idiots losing their stranglehold on the party then maybe I’ll come back, maybe not, who knows…

The Obama campaign sent their national co-chair Jesse Jackson, Jr. to tear down Hillary Clinton on MSNBC the other night. He took it too far over the top. His comments on Hurricane Katrina seemed to indicate he was saying Hillary Clinton doesn’t care about black people. It’s one thing when Kanye West says that about George Bush, it’s another when it’s Obama’s spokesperson saying it about Hillary Clinton. That is out of bounds.

    ******************************
Agreed. MS should be MO for Missouri. Sorry , lol!

  219. I think it’s a brilliant idea to begin grass-roots organizing for an independent run. I know that Hillary is saying publicly that she will do whatever is best for the Democratic party, but keep in mind that politically, she HAS to take that stance right now.

I’d be really curious to see how Hillary polls in a 3-way matchup against McCain and Obama. My hunch is that male voters would gravitate to Obama and McCain, and female voters would gravitate towards Hillary, and since 55% of GE voters are women, she’d be the favorite.

  220. As insidious as these tactics are, though, the Obama campaign’s most effective gambits have been far more egregious and dangerous than the hypocritical deployment of deceptive and disingenuous attack ads. To a large degree, the campaign’s strategists turned the primary and caucus race to their advantage when they deliberately, falsely, and successfully portrayed Clinton and her campaign as unscrupulous race-baiters–a campaign-within-the-campaign in which the worked-up flap over the Somali costume photograph is but the latest episode. While promoting Obama as a “post-racial” figure, his campaign has purposefully polluted the contest with a new strain of what historically has been the most toxic poison in American politics…
It may strike some as ironic that the racializing should be coming from a black candidate’s campaign and its supporters. But this is an American presidential campaign–and there is a long history of candidates who are willing to inflame the most deadly passions in our national life in order to get elected. Sadly, it is what Barack Obama and his campaign gurus have been doing for months–with the aid of their media helpers on the news and op-ed pages and on cable television, mocked by “SNL” as in the tank for Obama. They promise to continue until they win the nomination, by any means necessary.

I won’t be changing parties until after the convention because I am hoping that Hillary can knock some sense into the democrats, but if she fails then I will become an independent.

I have never worried about her resolve, I am more concerned with the party leaders who will force her into the “sweetie” vp role

  222. mj, There’s a post by dija above referring to comments by Lanny Davis on Fox. He said Waffles’ people are sending angry e-mails about Hillary holding a gun to Waffles’ head (not literally, of course). Obviously, Hillary is using her leverage, perhaps to get the VP spot.

  233. DENVER! yes, but I’m a little cool to the idea of HIllary running independent or getting on the ballot as independent. I kind of feel the vote strike should be done by her supporters, not her….

Great idea! Photo ops and a ‘listening tour’ round the world! If she can ask us to help her decide what to do next, she can ask them too! World leaders hugging her and saying carry on!

She can also get paid for speaking abroad, thus raising funds. And throw in zingers in all the speeches so as to get MSM soundbytes.

  235. I want to warn Clinton. If she does not put enormous pressure on those scumbags and starts to lay groundwork for an indepdent run, she will only taste even bitter pill when all of her leverage is gone. I don’t believe I’ll sympathize with her if this happens.

She has the guts, she has the support, she just needs to give an implicit ‘go’ signal to her massive supporters.

  236. kostner, do you have any idea how to organize to gather signatures to put her name in the ballots?

  237. I’m concerned about the calls for Hillary to leave the party and/or to run as an independent. I know how the media would treat that, and how history would probably handle it. They would say she left the party because she was miffed about losing the nomination. Just a sorehead. Period. If she stays in the party, history will probably relate how unfairly she was treated by the media and the other campaign.

I say “probably” because, after all, she is only a woman.

    (Doesn’t that sound ugly?)

  238. okie,

hey okie, good to see your post, we could have used your positive
    vibe here…

i already switched to indy when they screwed al gore,
it was hard to do at the time, but now i see my instincts were
    right, unfortunately…

    what do you think okie?
what great words of wisdom do you have to share today?

i am going to denver, djia said i can camp with her…
shes going to teach me to make a campfire.
and we will sit around and drink southern comfort mohitos, she
    said…lol

hope we have a reason to go…

  239. A “change” campaign works if the candidate has a proven track record of bringing about change. Bill Clinton’s signature line in ’92 was, “we can do better – if we have the courage to change.” And he had a 12-year track record of reaching bipartisan solutions to real problems in Arkansas, and making people’s lives better: he and other centrist Democrats like Al Gore had been creating a new philosophy for the Democratic party, and it was historic.

With Obama, it’s all just hype and PR. He has no track record of bringing about change. Look at his Senate records (no real accomplishments) and his Illinois records (lots of missed votes, political maneuvering, and little else).

  240. Sherm Kader, consider Joe Liberman in 2006. he run as ind and came out strong. I think Hillary will win if she has the gut to run as Ind.

  241. Read and Smile

    From Gretawire:

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old Texas rancher, whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Obama and his bid to be our President.

The old rancher said, ‘Well, ya know, Obama is a ‘post turtle’. Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a ‘post turtle’ was.

The old rancher said, ‘When you’re driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that’s a ‘post turtle’.

The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor’s face, so he continued to explain. ‘You know he didn’t get up there by himself, he doesn’t belong up there, he doesn’t know what to do while he is up there, and you just wonder what kind of a dumb ass put him up there!

  242. What a work of art,Hillary gave to the Israeli gathering.Just notes ,no teleprompter for idiots.McCainwe know is a lousy speaker but he is sincere in his beliefs and not a phony like BO.Our Hillary should never give in to the pressure from the MSM.Let us not have any doubts about FOX and their desire to eliminate her in order to get that turkey BO ready for the republican oven. They are all afraid of Hillary and are aware that there is no one in politics today that can stand up her in any phase of campaigning. She is ‘Our National Treasure” The new MO video that the Republicans are now acknowledging exists will be welcomed by anyone that is worried about how we can afford to elect BHO to the presidency.I am afraid that his rabid followers will reject any and all of it as lies.OBAMA and MICHELLE,what have you done to our great country???.Worst of all,you have pushed back any progress that MLK fought and died for. SHAME SHAME SHAME on you and your PASTORS.

  243. Plus, if she runs as an independent, think of how she’ll be positioned against Obama and McCain. It’s perfect for her. She can say that she is running as an “Independent Democrat,” and that when she wins the White House, she will return to the Democratic party, for starters.

Then you’ll have McCain sticking with his new mantra, “there is the right change, and the wrong change,” and he’ll blast Obama for all his sketchy connections and hate-filled church, etc., and Obama will blast McCain for being GW Bush, the sequel — i.e., more of the same.

Clinton will say she’s neither. She’ll be perfectly situated, right in the middle. Voters won’t want Obama’s radicalism and naivete, but they won’t want McCain’s tired old stay-the-course policies, either. She will win.

  244. after reading up the thread, i notice their are alot of people that
suddenly came out of the woodwork, some old tried and true, some
not so old and not so true…

the people that were as much for obama as hillary, those people
riding the fence, will just be happy either way.
their calls for a kumbaya session, will put them over on the not
20-30% of hillary people will never vote obama…
i respect that, its a democracy after all..(well at least it used to be)

but ADMIN has not thrown in the towel, and many of us diehard
hillary supporters, need to keep our focus on what we planned,
on what we believed in, which was to see it to denver if at all
possible, and if not than see mccain to the finish line.
becareful of words that will lull you into letting go of the fight…

  245. Sherm Kader,

I strongly disagree with you. History is not written in vacuum. I mean who cares what those ultra leftists will write. We, including Clinton should not be delusional about the vicious & abusive treatment they will receive from Pelosi democrats and MSM if all of her leverage is gone.

Her true leverage is 18 million people who voted for her. She is not the fringe candidate Nader, she has the power to turn the Nov election one way or the same even if she does not win based on these votes.
If she does not catch this moment, and let corrupt DNC rule this day, it’s going to be brutal for both the country, her and her supporters for the next few years.

I have to warn her, this is what’s going to happen. This is history making moment to establish a foundation for a viable third party in U.S. history.

  246. the benefit that Hillary run as independent is that GOP will attack BHO and Democrat will attack McCain. Hillary doesn’t need to put a lot of money to attack them. what she needs is to talk about economics. American trust her more than they trust BHO. She will win.

  247. BERKELEY,

i so agree with you, great observation…

have we started a movement to ask hill to go indy on her web page.
do you know if people are making that their opinion to her?

  248. More yellow journalism, from Politico. Check out this little gem:

“[Obama is a ]candidate who has shown no interest at all in putting Clinton on his ticket.”

This is patently false. I distinctly remember Obama being asked about a joint ticket during a debate, and he praised Hillary warmly, and said that she would be at the top of anyone’s short list.

  249. Berkeley Vox, I believe that BHO doesn’t want Hillary to be his VP unless he has to ( 18 million voters).

  250. Berkley Vox and Sherm Kader as well as Paddy!

you all have made compelling arguments here today…..are either of you Hillary?? 😀 J/K

makes people like me very confused LOL

on one had i think she should run indy (from my female emotional side) because of the way she was treated, that she owes the democrat party nothing but pie in the face
on the other hand….I want to see her beat them at their own rules, take it to the credentials commitee and fight for our voting rights (which needs to happen no matter what IMHO) and then take it to denver for a floor fight to prove women are not going to whimp out , IIMHO we have not reached the end of the primary season until the convention is over……she needs to go ALL THE WAY TO DENVER ( not sure what side that comes from other than i am rebel)

    &&&

It sounds like she’s trying to convince herself. Same with many other of Obama’s endorsements.

Even the MSM is admitting Obama’s “victory” is like he’s being dragged across the finish line, a deflated “victory”, given he’s been losing state after state, some by humongous margins. His little victory dance is echoing as hollow.

Obama’s pyrrhic “victory”. Even Chuck Todd said, “I’ll believe it when they get to Denver”. Maureen Dowd notes the limp quality of his “win”.

That he didn’t WIN by votes, that it was a bunch of SDs jumping the gun to be the “one to put Obama over the top”. What a shallow reason for endorsing him, for their own recognition. They’ll get plenty of “recognition”, when they’re turned out of office this November or next time they run. Their constituents will remember these precious Profiles in Cowardice, that many SDs went against the will of their district and/or state.

  252. I think getting signatures will not be a problem. The republicans will be willing to sign the petition with us. They will welcome a third party with HRC in it hoping to divide the democratic votes.

  253. skmf12, I have no idea and no insider information, but my hunch is this — based totally and only on years of watching the Clintons, and just feeling self-confident in understanding how they think:

    * Hillary may want to be the VP, IF she thinks Obama can beat McCain. If she truly believes he can overcome all the impending Republican attacks, then she probably wants to help him. I take her at her word when she says, “this race isn’t about me, it’s about you, the people.” She is a woman who possesses the highest form of the rarest and most beautiful trait: grace. And in the modern political era (post-92), powerful vice presidents have been the rule, not the exception.

    * If Obama doesn’t want to give her the VP, I think she has every right to continue campaigning. It would be (a) idiotic for Obama NOT to offer her the ticket, from his own standpoint, and (b) it would be downright rude of him not to offer it to her. Also, if Obama doesn’t want her as VP, then all his talk about “unity” rings false.

    * If nothing happens on the VP front, then I think Hillary will continue to stay visible, in case anything happens that could change superdelegates’ minds. Superdelegates will switch to Hillary if it becomes obvious that Obama can’t beat McCain (and that is still very possible — this has been an incredibly volatile campaign season)

  254. “AMERICAN” THE TWO-PARTY SYSTEM

PREDICTION: 2008 marks the beginning of the INVISIBLE MAJORITY REBELLION. They are the independent voters who will choose the next president of the United States, and he or she may not be a member of the current political mafia, the duopoly of Democratic and Republican Parties, stifling a democracy in crisis.

    From Hogue Prophecy http://www.hogueprophecy.com/predictions2008.htm

  255. djia, Fighting them will serve no purpose. She should walk out of the Democratic party and run as an idependent. As a matter of fact that is what I wrote to her as a reply to her E-Mail:

Dear Hillary, My wife and I have been your supporters for a long time. We feel that the DNC and media have been very unfair to you. In case you do not get the nomination we urge you to run as an Independent candidate for POTUS. We would be prepared to pledge monetary support in case you decide to run. Thanks for every thing.

  256. blue dem, berkley, kostner: I think you have got it right. Third party is the best option. No need to elaborate.

  257. If she becomes an independent she could tell the public that she owes nothing to Democrats and ofcourse nothing to repugs.

  258. SONIA4HILLARY Says:

    Pelosi: Dem Primary Over
“Now we have a nominee,” Pelosi says, “and that’s pretty exciting.”
    &&&&&

It sounds like she’s trying to convince herself. It sounds put on.

The whole “Obama just won” narrative has a tremendously hollow ring to it. MSM describes him being “dragged arcoss the finish line”. Even Chuck Todd says he’ll only really believe it once it’s confirmed in Denver.

Part of the “problem” is that he didn’t “win it” by voters, that it was SDs trying to be the “one to put him over the top” all day Tuesday while voting was still going on. They wanted to get recognition. They wanted to join in the fun and supposed euphoria.

They’ll get recognition, when their constituents vote them out of office. SDs who go againt their district and/or state are walking targets, and they know it. Hillary needs to give them time to fully embrace their Inner Buyer’s Remorse.

Above, I put forth other arguments for SDs to consider, including what the real delegate math could/should be.

  259. Hillary does not want VP position… I think the DNC is forcing her to consider it because they know Obama will lose without her.

IMHO: third party not an option.

    On to Denver!

  260. Waffles thinks putting Caroline Kennedy on the VP search commitee would improve his relationship with women.

  261. clintondem99, I would think the kennedy family use BHO to gain power because if there was no Kennedy’s endorsement he would not get this far.

  262. berekely,

i hear you, i dont want to her to demean herself first off…
dont tell me, michelle, would turn her into the house servant,
    another wonderful whitey moment…

and the more important thing is this, it would be in essence,
her putting her stamp of approval on a person who has shown
themselves (is that a word?) to be unscrupulous, racist, mysogynist,
    and unwise in associations.

i dont know about others, i only know, that a person needs to have
some bottom line; a line they wont cross, a compromise they
wont make, a belief they wont sell out…

i see your point. i wish hillary would be fearless though.
i wish she would make history, i wish she would see outside the
box to the future, as sometimes women are not afraid to do.
i wish she would invision that middle of the road american, and
form a party for us. just the folks…

oh well, we need more dreamers in this world i guess…

Waffles thinks putting Caroline Kennedy on the VP search commitee would improve his relationship with women.

That doesn’t help at all. There is no other woman, besides Hillary.

  264. Berkley Vox: I absolutely agree with you point by point. That’s pretty much the order I would take things in if I were Hillary and I’ve written to her. Let’s not mince words, the goddam nomination was stolen. If I had my way, the two of em would go in a room and come out with Hill as President. Barring that, Hill as VP would be the option. However, and this is a huge however, we still don’t know who this guy is. We got reasons to believe he’s got a lot of serious baggage. She doesn’t need to spend the next good years of her life fielding the questions about him. Great post, Berkley. This is Hillary’s decision and hers also to negotiate. She will do the right thing and we will support her. She’s not a quitter and she won’t leave us. She’s in it for us. How many modern politicians have ever said, “I need to hear from you?” Jesus H Christ she is incredible.

  265. I seriously doubt HRC would run on an Indie ticket. I honestly think she feels too much loyalty to the Democratic Party to ever do that.

That said…if she DOES go that road, I’d be thrilled!

If she fights on to Denver…I’ll back her 100%.

If she decides to bow out and return to her work in the senate…I’ll be here waiting for her return in 2012.

But if she takes the VP slot beside Bambi…I’m going to have to say “no”. I won’t cast a ballot for that man regardless of WHO he has on his ticket. I just won’t.

If she takes the VP slot for Bambi…

  266. djia — beat them at their own rules, take it to the credentials commitee and fight for our voting rights (which needs to happen no matter what IMHO) and then take it to denver for a floor fight to prove women are not going to whimp out , IIMHO we have not reached the end of the primary season until the convention is over……she needs to go ALL THE WAY TO DENVER”

Yes! She can do it! She knows the game! And she is sharper than any of them.
Hillary will be our next president. Keep the faith!

  267. I honestly believe Hillary is the one who can clean up the Democratic Party — inject respect for integrity. I trust her to know what she is doing. Call me crazy but I am certain she will be 44.

  268. Idunn: I agree with you 100% as I said earlier today that if she is the V.P and then they lose, that stink is on her for 2012. Go back to Washington, make even a better name for yourself and work accross party lines (even more so)!!! That’s what I say!

    GLAD TO HAVE YOU BACK!!

  269. If a 3rd party run is the best option, I am with the rest of you and I understand the rationale. It is clear that the Pelosi dems are the ultraleftists leftovers from the 60s and 70s and the facts bear this out, it’s not us making stuff up. The repugs do have a lot of stuff on him and they haven’t even begun. I am glad Hillary is smart enough to sort all this shit out. What’s most important to know is that we will follow her.

  270. What the hell did I read? Obama has a VP search committee? Is that true? What kind of bullshit is that? you don’t pick a VP by committee. Cripes all mighty

  271. Idunn, I missed you. Here’s what I think Hill should do, suspend and wait. If another scandal breaks before August, the supers will run to her. Apparently, Mark Penn is giving the same advice.

  272. I think she should run as an independent now while there is time. Any scandal that the repubs have will be released after the convention.

  273. No to Independent run. No to VP.

If BO is nom, let’s focus on getting him defeated. Then prepare for 2012.

Kostner, you’re getting too hyped about her independent run. You need to step back a bit and weigh the pros and cons. After you do that, you’ll realize the cons far outweigh the pros.

Independent is a nuclear option. She’s still a sitting Dem Senator and we’re talking about major bridge burning. Moreover, as Idunn (HI!) said, Clintons have deep loyalty to the party — despite what the pundits would have you believe.

I doubt the campaign is even thinking about this option.

    *********************************

I tend to agree, that is why i also wrote hillary and told her to run Independant

  275. VP? I have a hard time believing that Hillary actually wants to go that route and I really don’t see Bill wanting a role as 2nd gentleman. She’s better off staying in the Senate. At any rate, there’s too much bad blood between the Clintons and Obama. Obama does need Hillary’s support to win the GE– and even then, it would be a stretch– but he’s so arrogant that he won’t ever admit that to himself. His Party enablers won’t admit it either.

Independent? I like the idea and will support Hillary if she chooses this option. But I’ll wait until I hear it from her.

Credentials committee? Denver? I still think Hillary’s best bet is to beat the system at their own game. The Repubs may be saving their best ammunition against Waffles for October, but they do need to start beating up on him now. They can’t wait until August. And I’m sure there’s more than enough dirt on Bambi and his horrible wife to keep the flames going all summer long. Obama will be going into that convention a lot more tarnished than he is now. McCain will also be attacking him on more mundane, political issues, so we get to watch Bambi stumble through all that. “Whitey” will be the final nail in the coffin, but I don’t hold out much hope that it will surface in time to help Hillary unless somebody new manages to track down a copy. The people who have it now are obviously not going to release it.

  276. Thanks for all the warm “welcome backs” guys. 🙂

My mother in law has been here since the 1st of May, so my time has been EXTREMELY limited. In fact, apart from doing what I can to help get HRC elected, and barely keeping up with the news, there hasn’t been time for much else besides cooking, cleaning and entertaining.

They are staffies not line personnel. Any line manager or leader knows that adjustment periods are necessary in any battle, when taking a new direction. Some asshole suggested that she was proceeding by coalition by asking her supporters for their input. Hell when Lewis and Clark got to Montana with Sakajaweea and the rest of their troop they were looking for a tributary of the Missouri River near the Marias and needed to find a new way. So they consulted with the people to get opinions on what to do next and thus held the troop together and got on the right course. I don’t think, Bloomberg likes Hillary. He is cozy with BHO.

  282. Keep in mind, if the situation were reversed and Waffles edged HRC in the popular vote while losing the delegate race everybody and his brother in the MSM would be screaming for HRC to pick Waffles as VP.

But Hillary and 18 million supporters might as well just fall off the face of the earth as far as they’re concerned. My guess is Waffles doesn’t really want to pick Hillary as VP, given those clueless comments by his campaign people saying her voters will come back to him without any wooing. Yeah, open the door for McCain to pick them off. Real smart, guys. Remember that story saying he offered her some cabinet post? Like that’s good enough, lol.

  283. I have been unable to keep up with everything the last two days and its good to see everyone keep fighting!

I sincerely hope Hillary takes it to the convention and fight with everything she has!

  290. I have been a reader for a long – and did not participate with the discussion but I am so heartbroken right now because of all the treatment that Hill was getting and continued to get. Please excuse any of my comments if it did not make any sense.

Here’s one more suggestion – maybe we can ask Bloomberg to run as independent and Hill supporters will back him. I think he will be better than McCain or Obama

  291. confloyd, I also have a little concern about McCain, in the fact he does not deliver a speech very well, but, what makes me sleep good at night…. he has Karl Rove. Rove tore up Kerry and made him look like a trader to the USA, just think what he will do to Obama!!!

  292. There is so much misinformation out there! I heard that Bloomberg and Hillary are bitter enemies! Which is it?

  293. filbertsf,

Nuclear option is the necessary evil NOW. I find all these 2012 talk is just delusional. One week is too long in politics, let alone another 4 years. If Obama gets his turn, the anti-American ultra leftists will make sure to destroy Clintons within the party. This will be no future for her in the party, to be honest with you guys.
All her leverage will be gone after Nov if Bambi squeezes out a win.

Dont’ kid ourselves. Bambi still can win this thing in Nov if the democratic party has some sort of pseudo-unity. He has a massive advantage from MSM. The GOP is in a dumps. McCain is old.

If you believe the current misogynism, mistreatment, abusese by the most anti-American faction of the party is enough, wait for further more abuses if he grabs the power in Nov.

The sure way to defeat Obama is for Hillary to run as indepdent. There is NO WAY IN HELL Obama faction can win an election if her name is on the ballot in OH/PA/MI, it is that simple.

I did some quick number crunching. Close to 50% of Hillary’s supporters in PA/OH said they would not support Obama, 25% said they would go for McCain, another 25% said they would sit out or not vote.
Clinton clinched roughly 50% of the total primary voters, 25% = 12.5% of defection from democratic party.
My magic number is if 20% of all democrats defect, waffles will sure lose, if 15%, it’s going to be tough for him, but he can still squeeze out a win since many disgruntled conservatives, independents will not support any GOP candidate this cycle, the defection rate is high.

So our goal is to ensure 15 to 20% of all democrats are abandoning Bambi in Nov. To put Clinton’s name on ballot is a sure way to do so.

anybody else got someone good in their sites to ‘primary’ as
    admin puts it?
anyone out there got donna brazille in their district?

George Miller is in my district, but he ran unopposed. 🙁

Confloyd: that is what, I had heard.

  295. Wise words? None today. Was too restless last night to really put everything in complete context, but I do believe she’ll stay in it without suspending but be lowkey while he gets his ass handed to him by the GOP.

At this point, we circle the wagons, do not let go of our supporters and wait it out until August.

Keep talking to people about the map and how 👿 loses against McCain.

Talk about his flip-flopping on Iran today, and Venezuela a month ago. Show him to be without positions and therefore party.

Point out his longstanding ties over and over. You are who you associate with. And so far he’s a Marxist, racist, black liberation, radical Muslim sympathizer and apologist.

He may be taller than McCain in height, but not in stature when it comes to issues.

Keep all that in mind and keep blogging and buttonholing folks. If you don’t lose faith, folks will wonder why and maybe start to listen a bit more as they get off the hopium pipe.

Now that he no longer has daily duties at his parish, maybe the intrepid Father Michael Pfleger has time to hang with Barack and offer policy insights on dealing with Native American

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oepIBCQB2Ds&eurl=

Now Barack wants folks to believe he is a man of unique judgment. Well, Mr. Judgment, why did you hang with this nut for 20 years? What is it about crazy that you don’t understand?

  297. The big question is…. will or can Obama reach out to “Core Democrat” and bring them back? Is it too little too late??

  298. JAS, I hope so, I really do, our nation as we know could be jeopardy! I can’t understand how the democrats think they can win without her.

Bill is the only 2 term Dem in recent history. Al Gore would have won had he had a better campaign manager. Bradzilla should have told him to count all the votes in Florida! She needs to be the one that the blame is on and not Bill.
Bill left the Whitehouse with a 65% approval rating, so its Donna’s fault!

One more freaking complaint, how is that for 16 years we have heard Hillary was the most hated woman in America??? So if that was true, how did she get 18 million of us to vote for her? How did she get #1 on the most Admired Women List! I sure as hell don’t see freaking Nasty Pooplosi on the list anywhere? This tar and feathering of Hillary by the DNC is absolutely the sickest thing I have ever seen!!

  299. is Hillary in NY or in Congress today. It is stormin’ in DC today for those of you who believe in omens. A tornado touched down in Falls Church.

  300. I want Hillary to start a new party like “The Middle American Party”!! That would call it what it is the blue collars, bible toting, gun owning red necks. The party of the Real Americans! We are and our ancesters are the ones that one 2 world wars, fought and died in massive numbers in Vietnam, Korea, and now Iraq and Afganistan!

  301. confloyd and jas,
Donna Brazile commented to Begala at the same time she told him that they did not need our groups that they had a new coalition [the New Coalition of the Democratic Party]; and that IT WAS NOT ABOUT WINNING THE GENERAL ELECTION, IT WAS ABOUT BROADENING THE BASE [youth, white elites, AA’s and educated].
It struck me when she said that, that any such strategy would be suicide for the Democratic Party, but on the other hand I wondered can they really be that arrogant and STUPID at the same time. It looks like that was the strategy that they took. What is your take?

  302. Kostner, you’re wrong. Reagan lost the nom first time around,w ent on to be a two term president.

  303. WTH is wrong with Fox, that Shepherd Smith is slamming McCain on his ability to deliver a freaking speech. Smith should realize McCain doesn’t need to give speeches, he is a hero and is the anti-obama candidate!

  304. Just to divert a moment from “what should Hillary do” (I vote: go to Denver and try to win there), I would like to remind us that besides the racism and the appalling sexism in the Obama camp, there is also a revolting ageism. Makes an old white woman very angry.

It reminds me of the movie “The Tender Trap” with Frank Sinatra and Debbie Reynolds. Debbie is telling Frank that she doesn’t want to marry him because of all the things wrong with him. He delivers the wonderful line, “If you want a proposal, do not start by telling him he is an OLD, decrepit louse!”

I’ve been called that for a year and now I won’t accept his proposal, no matter what it is. Hillary, don’t become the VP — I don’t think even you can drag this man across the finish line — and you’ll get the blame. They’ll want someone new next time.
This way, we can show that they left the winner behind and went with …well, not a winner.

  305. i am telling ya oprie has picked out her inaug address. she hadn’t heard that about takin’ a fall in the general.

  306. Sorry Okie…haven’t even checked my email in over a month. Things are crazy here right now.

Anyway…where the hell is our “Whitey Tape”?! Bring it, people!

  307. Shorttermer, I don’t know what to think of Brazille political theories, I just plain want to watch her candidate get creamed! I hope this blog is still up and we can all sing and dance on his grave (not literally, figuratively)(we must be clear on that for the bots). I want the man to lose so bad that he will never try and run for office in any state in America again!

  308. Sounds like Oprah is counting her chickens before they come home to roost! LOL!!
I never thought that I could forgive Rove enough to help him win! I still can’t believe it! LOL!!

  309. Confloyd, Brazile doesn’t have any coherent political philosophies. It’s just ramrod action for her (maybe the only ramrod action for her is my guesstimate). She likes the fight and for her, it’s not about ideas as much as just winning.

There are lots of old politicos like that out there. They forgot their values somewhere along the way.

  310. oh my god i am going to have to turn off the tv yall. that asshole cafferty just talked about Hillary as a “spoiled child who refused to go to bed.” His question du jour is how to “deal” with Clinton. Go to CNN to comment. What a jerk. Start writin’ CNN folks. What a bunch of pathetic self-important imbeciles.

  311. Oh, wow. Saw this quote at NQ by John McCain. Good shit:

“I don’t seek the presidency on the presumption I’m blessed with such personal greatness that history has anointed me to save my country in its hour of need,” [John McCain] said. “I seek the office with the humility of a man who cannot forget my country saved me.”

  312. McCain frankly IS a bad speaker, certainly compared to Hillary and Obama. That ain’t his strength.

  313. i think we need radical action, folks. I am talking in the streets. I am outta travel money. I may have to do something like a hunger strike.

  314. I respect him more because the quote is true. He can’t lift his arms above his head because he fought for this country and refused to come home bc of who his daddy was. 👿 ‘s ass would have hightailed it to Canada with SDS and the Weathermen and never seen a lick of war. Plenty of bombs I’m sure, but not war.

  315. yeah okie,

i would have mccain before obama anyday…
wish hill and mcain would do a unity ticket if all else fails…

  316. mollyjrichards,

this is exactly why Hillary has to run as an INDY. She will surely ruin the party of those spoiled boys in Nov.

If you think the current abuses towards her supporters are too much, wait for President Obama in Nov… There will be four more years of George W. Bush III.

  317. Paula, he can speak extemporaneously without uh uh uh. He’s not flamboyent with teleprompter but there is an authenticity.

  318. I just the freaking republicans can beat him and beat him good! If there are any republicans lurking here, I want to tell you that this time I will help you, but don’t get used it! I like John McCain ok, but I am a democrat and the only reason you are getting my vote is to defeat the little whimpy Bambi, so get to it, I’m waiting!!

  319. Short Termer: I just got back sorry it took so long! You are right, that was my take also. I am wondering how Obama expects to win FL,MI,OH,MO and even PA?? You know with that new New Coalition of the Democratic Party!!!

  320. Paula, we have the republicans to help us shut Bambi up, I wonder what can we do with the like of Cafferty, Pumkinhead, Oberarsh and Tweety! These folks have to go, may be the republicans can help with that too!

  321. Jury in Rezko’s corruption trial reaches verdict
    The Associated Press

    CHICAGO —
The jury deliberating political fundraiser Antoin “Tony” Rezko’s fate has reached a verdict.

The verdict is to be read in Chicago’s federal court later Wednesday afternoon.

The 52-year-old Rezko has pleaded not guilty to scheming to get kickbacks from companies wanting state contracts.

The jury has deliberated for parts of 13 days since getting the case May 13.

Jurors had told U.S. District Judge Amy St. Eve on Monday they couldn’t agree on one of 24 counts against Rezko. They seemed to indicate they had reached verdicts on 23 of the 24 counts, but didn’t say that specifically.

At the time, St. Eve told jurors to listen carefully to each other and try to reach an unanimous verdict.

  322. Video headline on yahoo says Waffles’ aides don’t like the pressure to make Hillary VP. Aw, cry me a river.

  323. Idunn- Thank You!!! I have been asking that same question, Where the fuck is the tape that was to come out today?? Did I say fuck… oh ment to hell 🙂

  324. Hillary Clinton is “absolutely ready” to discuss the vice presidency with Barack Obama and has authorized supporters to encourage Obama to pick her if he feels that will help unify the party and help Democrats win the White House, according to Robert Johnson, the founder of Black Entertainment Television and a prominent Clinton supporter.

Johnson said he began discussing the vice presidency with Clinton last month and that they talked about it at a dinner in Puerto Rico last Saturday and again by phone and e-mail on Tuesday. “Let me be clear,” Johnson said in a telephone interview Wednesday morning. “She said if asked to do this, she must accept because she believes that it is in the best interest of the party that the party come together and win in November.”

Johnson launched an effort to create an Obama-Clinton ticket Wednesday morning with a letter to Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.), who endorsed Obama on Tuesday morning. In the letter, Johnson said the best way to unify the party is with an Obama-Clinton ticket. “I believe that the most important step that you can take now is to encourage the Congressional Black Caucus to urge Senator Obama to select Senator Hillary Clinton as his Vice Presidential running mate,” he wrote.

Johnson said he talked specifically with Clinton on Tuesday about his intentions. “She said, ‘Go ahead,'” he recalled, although she asked that he wait until Wednesday to do so.

Johnson said he believes Clinton understands that is it important now for her to recognize Obama as the presumptive Democratic nominee. “I think she recognizes that people want a definitive statement from her hailing Obama as the nominee and announcing that she is no longer in campaign mode,” Johnson said.

  325. JAS, I don’t know when it’s coming out but I have no doubt it will. Did you see the update about its contents on No Quarter? At this very moment, I suspect lots of people are trying to find a copy of it, now that they know when it took place and where.

  326. This is a BAD, BAD move on Hillary’s part.

I really do not like the idea of her being Obama’s V.P., especially ‘begging’ for it. She has the popular votes, it should he who begs her, not she.

Hillary will suffer a huge humiliation if she loses both her supporters and diginity.

I don’t believe I can support the idea of an Obama-Hillary ticket …

  327. I don’t like all of this bullying by her surrogates and the like to try to “petition” for her to be any VP! I want her as president or Senator of N.Y. Screw this VP stuff. John McCain wouldn’t be so bad for four years. He’d be better than four years of BHO screwing up at every damn turn.

  328. Paula, I am a man, I have no patiencs 🙂

OkieAtty- If Rezko if found guilty on any of the charges, is it too late for a “deal” with the fed’s? (I mean for sentensing purpose’s). “deal” meaning spilling his guts!?

  329. Hi All,

Regarding the MO racial slur recording, I’m still on the fence about it’s existence. But I do believe there is a better than slim chance that it exists.

The reasons why I think it could exist:

    1) It seems plausible. Would anyone disagree that MO is capable of such a rant? Even the waffles supporters who are crying foul over this rumor don’t start off by claiming ‘oh she WOULD NEVER say anything like that’. Instead, they say ‘Where’s the proof?’. Pretty sad and telling, huh?

    2) There seems to be very specific information regarding the date, the event, and even subject matter for the rant.

    3) And I think the most telling thing is that waffles, or someone connected to his campaign, have not come out and officially denied that such a recording exists. It seems to me that this would be the easiest way to kill an unfounded rumor. The reports of it’s existence on MSM is basically non-existent, but it’s starting to get more play in the blogosphere. Perhaps they feel it’s not at the stage where an official statement is necessary, but if it starts to blow up further, and still no denial, then it will be even more telling.

The reasons why I think it does not exist:

    1) No one who has reported on it claims to have seen it first hand.

    2) The day and event that the rant took place at was a publicly attended affair with new stations covering it, from what I understand. Seems like if that was the case, the recording would have been discovered by now.

    3) If the Republicans are in possession of the recording, and want to wait until October to release it to the public for maximum damage to waffles, then why would they drop hints of it to sympathetic Democratic sources in June? Possibly someone who found out about it isn’t so sympathetic to McCain, or feels like the sooner it comes out the better. Who knows?

Anyway, those are my thoughts on the subject. I’m guessing that there’s a less than 50% chance it exists, but not much less than that. I’d say maybe 40/60.

    Peace out!

  330. Sugar: I couldn’t agree more. The only way they want her as VP is to bury her. I think we have to bury them by making sure BO doesn’t win in 2008 and Hillary will have 2012 to win again.

  331. kostner, She’s not begging for it. Hillary doesn’t beg for anything. And if Obama doesn’t at least offer it to her, he’ll be seen as dissing her and her legion of supporters.

There may be some hardball going on here, but no begging.

  332. John McCain wouldn’t be so bad for four years. He’d be better than four years of BHO screwing up at every damn turn.

Tis true. I’d have to see who his VP choice is before I’d ever even considered that an option in November. Let’s face it, McCain is NOT a spring chicken and I DON’T want to get stuck with a Mittens (or worse) …if you catch my meaning.

Anyway, right now, the plan for me is to stick with HRC until she makes her choice, then I’ll go from there. Best case scneario: Hill suspends her campaign, Bambi implodes, and HRC gets the nom. OR, she runs Indie. Barring those two…I’m gonna have a tough tough road to haul come November. 🙁

  333. Yeah Idunn, he is no spring chicken, but I don’t think he’ll kick the bucket on us between now and 2012. Now, if he were 82…..Besides, aside from his wrinkly face (no offense to anyone here), he is a very FIT 72. I’m confident he’ll be okay health wise.

  334. 2) The day and event that the rant took place at was a publicly attended affair with new stations covering it, from what I understand. Seems like if that was the case, the recording would have been discovered by now.

My understanding is that it was a panel discussion at a Conference, and the press wasn’t allowed. Apparently, it was taped as one of UTC’s buyable deals, or free download from the church site.

    Could be mistaken, though.

  335. McCain is not a great speaker, but neither was/is ‘W’. He comes across as down-to-earth though, and sometimes that’s even more effective. I think McCain comes across as sincere, and that can be powerful too.

  336. Welcome back, Idunn!

” Best case scneario: Hill suspends her campaign, Bambi implodes, and HRC gets the nom. ”

    Yep. Three months to maneuver.

I think we can help during those three months by showing how many of us are serious about voting for McCain if necessary. Make a credible threat.

AUMF — Authorization to Use Menopausal Force

  337. Do we not all agree that his campaign has ALREADY dissed us!!!?

Yep. But I’m glad he doesn’t “need” my vote. Makes it ALOT easier for me not to give it to him. 😉

    ___

Yeah, he did say he didn’t need them didn’t he? lol Well, this is one vote he can forget about if he’s the nominee. I truly do hope Hillary will just wait it out too. I keep going back and forth because I’m so angry. I do NOT want her to even consider any VP spot with him and I don’t think I can be convinved otherwise between now and Nov. Can you guys believe it’s already June? It will be Nov. before we know it. I’m not heading to S.C., my home state, until Thanksgiving. By then we’ll know who #44 is. I hope and pray it’s Hillary, but I’ll settle for McCain.

  339. Rove will package McCain as a father figure that will keep us safe at night, and Obama as a Domestic Terrorist haveing a relationship with William Aryers!

  340. McCain may be more healthy than he lookds. He walks stiffly and seems to have balance problems, but that may be from his POW injuries. I’ve heard that because of those injuries he can’t lean over a rope line to shake hands.

Still if he did die during his term, then his VP might be easier to beat in 2012. If he retires, then his VP might be fighting with other GOP for their nomination.

  341. I still believe that Hillary is pushing the VP notion as a way to show waffles as divisive. She has to believe that there is not much of a chance of him asking her, so when he doesn’t he’ll look like the selfish one who doesn’t want to unite the Democrats. The more she plays this up in the media, the harder the fallout will be among Dems.

  342. REZKO found guilty

Sweet! Hope like hell he rolls on Bambi and they’re sharing underwear REAL SOON!!

  343. Hehehehehehe!

    At a staff meeting today HRC made this comment about the media bobbleheads;

“That is the job I want. Yyou can say anything without knowing anything!”

  344. Let me just say this: the message I got from Hillary’s speech last night was that she was addressing US, her supporters, and telling us to stick with her. She will let us know what she wants us to do. And I will do whatever she wants us to do, even if I may have different opinions. I’ve got her back. And I remember a post from Admin, a couple weeks ago(?), telling us to get ready for some real grass-roots organizing. And then last night, the hall was filled with that ringing chant: “DEN-VER! DEN-VER! DEN-VER!” If this fight needs to go to Denver, then I will be there.

Having said that, I think an Obama-Clinton ticket would be an amazing thing. Bill Clinton said ages ago that a joint ticket would be “unstoppable,” and he’s right. Here’s why Obama needs Clinton as VP:

    1) she is an amazing candidate, and would make an outstanding President. first criteria, plain and simple. she is the best pick for the job.
    2) he needs her constituents, and he needs to unify the party – ’nuff said.
    3) if he rejects her, then all hell will break loose, and we’ll all be bracing for a shootout at the Pepsi Center-corral in Denver this summer.
    4) she will never screw up on the campaign trail — she is articulate, intelligent, etc and is already in campaign mode
    5) the presence of Hillary and Bill Clinton, once Obama embraces them and lets bygones be bygones, will be HUGE: if anyone doubts whether Obama has the experience necessary, they’ll at least know that Bill Clinton lives just up the road on Mass Ave

Now, here’s why Hillary basically HAS to ask for the VP slot:
    1) if she’s going to go on to Denver, she at first has to appear conciliatory. Sure, it’s a concession, and it kind of sucks, but she doesn’t have the leverage to really say, “damn the torpedoes, damn the vice presidency, on to Denver!”
    2) it puts the ball squarely in Obama’s court: okay, Mr. Unity — can you walk the walk?
    3) if Obama refuses her the slot, then she has every right to keep fighting, so that her 18 million constituents’ voices are heard.

If I’m Obama, it’s a no-brainer. Offer her the vice presidency as soon as you have met with her and mapped out a working relationship. I feel like I’m watching a cheezy romantic comedy, where everyone in the movie theater is throwing popcorn at the screen, yelling, “c’mon, kiss her already!”

  345. kostner, I’m actually not sure Hillary really wants to be VP that much because she loves being in the Senate. The statement that she’d do it to unite the party is likely true. Oh well, we’ll see, as you say. 🙂

    Great news on Rezko!!!

  346. I feel like I’m watching a cheezy romantic comedy, where everyone in the movie theater is throwing popcorn at the screen, yelling, “c’mon, kiss her already!”

I just threw up in my mouth alittle. 🙁

That sounds juuust about right. And, now that the sponsor for “ye old humble abode” is a convicted felon, he would look even more scary.

  348. This on MSNBC’s site regarding BHO VP possibles:

Caroline Kennedy, Eric Holder, Jim Johnson compiling potentials list
    _____

Caroline Kennedy??? And, who the fugg are the other two!? Lord Jesus, this is too much.

  349. is it possible, that this was part of the actual republican bombshell today and not MO.

  350. No, Pluto. It’s the video. And the jury didn’t delay it. They got deadlocked on one count for a week.

  351. Isn’t it ODD that the Rezko jury couldn’t reach a verdict until the day after DNC crowned Pampers the king?????

Waffles gets a free ride from everyone; the media, the DNC, the Repubs not releasing the whitey tape, the rezko jury waiting until after his apparent coromnation to reach a verdict. 👿

And about the friggin’ TUCC tapes! there MUST be someone else on this forum who was as intrigued as I was back in Feb and who has deeper pockets than me and needed to satisfy their curiosity about all things Wright and who bought the DVD’s just like i almost did!

  352. Hi guys. As far as I’m concerned the situation between the HRC and Obama/DNC is the same as an abusive relationship. You don’t ask a victim to stand up for her abuser and HRC (and her supporters) should refuse to be part of propping up an overinflated (ready to pop any minute) Obama. The minute she’s out–I’m working for McCain.

He at least gets it. He knows the party bosses handed this to Obama & he thinks it stinks. Here’s what he said (from ABC):

“McCain quickly offered a warm verbal embrace of that primary season’s loser, his one-time nemesis Hillary Clinton. “The media often overlooked how compassionately she spoke to the concerns and dreams of millions of Americans, and she deserves a lot more appreciation than she sometimes received,” he said, going on to note — as he did in Nashville yesterday — the historic trail that she has blazed. “As the father of three daughters, I owe her a debt for inspiring millions of women to believe there is no opportunity in this great country beyond their reach. …And, notably, he was not shy about describing Obama’s path to the nomination as one that bucked the popular vote and relied heavily on influence from party elites. “Pundits and party elders have declared that Senator Obama will be my opponent,” he said, soon after wrapping up his enthusiastic praise for Clinton. “He will be a formidable one. But I’m ready for the challenge, and determined to run this race in a way that does credit to our campaign and to the proud, decent and patriotic people I ask to lead.”

Where’s all the outrage from Harry Reid and the other top Demos?? Did they miss hearing about the DNC R&B Ctte meeting where their fellows TOOK AWAY 4 of HRC’s earned delegates from Michigan? Did any Democrat stand up and say “What a minute–this is wrong”?? No. Not one.

McCain called it DEAD ON. And if she’s out; I’m for McCain.

  353. No, I will NOT follow Hillary into BO’s camp! I don’t want her to sacrifice her independent career to prop up his!

If she wants to drop out, then she can stay in the Senate and try later.

I’ll work harder against an Obama/Clinton than any other Obama ticket.

She should play by the real rules, soft-pedal everything till August, keep options open. Then strike at the last minute (if Obama is still out of jail).

  354. berkeley,

I disagree! To go to Denver to continue her run as the best nominee and/or for the FL/MI voters, fine!

But to use being turned down for VP as a reason to fight in Denver —– NO, that wouldn’t work! That would look like sore loser or blackmail for sure.

We just have to hope he doesn’t offer VP, or that she can graciously decline with some excuse.

Us blackmailng the DNC by threatening to vote for McCain is great. But for Hillary to blackmail Obama for a post….yucch!
