Obama’s latest waffle was very bitter.

The aloof, condescending, nasty Obama groaned and whinned like a child today. It was more than Obama could bear. Like a spoiled petulant child, angry at not getting a toy he wants, Obama today repeated his angry, annoyed, debate bomb of a performance. ‘”Why can’t I just eat my waffle?” he said, when asked a foreign policy question by a reporter at the Glider Diner.” Poor baby, Obama can’t stand the heat.

As Harry Truman said, If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Our battle tested, Ready for Anything, Never give up, Comfortable in the kitchen, Got what it takes, Hillary is ready for the toughest job in the world. (BTW, Hillary – tonight – on Hillary Hate Big Media outlet MSNBC – facing down the deranged Olbermann).

Hillary fights with a purpose. Hillary fights for working people. Hillary fights for Universal health care.

Obama just wants to waffle.

  1. I know this has nothing to do with Hillary, but… is important none the less
I got this email today please go sign the petition 😀

The Pentagon is infiltrating the media with pro-war propaganda.

    Take Action Now

Yesterday, the New York Times exposed a secret Pentagon campaign to infiltrate the media with pro-war propaganda.

The scheme reaches all the way to the Bush White House, where top officials recruited dozens of “military analysts” to spread favorable views of the war via every major news channel — without revealing they were working from Pentagon scripts and often lobbying for major military contractors.

Spreading “covert propaganda” is illegal under federal law. Congress must investigate these military pundits and their ties to the Bush administration, defense contractors and our national news media.

Tell Congress: Investigate the Propaganda Pundits

Signing this letter does work. If we can get 50,000 people to join this call to Congress, they will likely take action to stop government propaganda.

The more than 75 analysts exposed by the New York Times have become fixtures of war coverage on CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, Fox News Channel and MSNBC. The front-page article reveals the many ways that the Pentagon fed them pro-war talking points and misinformation. The White House even has a name for these covert propagandists: “message force multipliers.”

The pundits trade on their access to the media and the White House to secure high-paying jobs as lobbyists, consultants and contractors — vying for hundreds of billions of dollars in military business generated by the war.

Take Action: Investigate White House Propaganda

An administration secretly forcing favorable views via the press is not a partisan issue. This is a violation of every conceivable standard of journalism — and possibly of federal law.

It’s time the truth about the selling of this war came out. You can help make this happen.

Take action and then forward this e-mail to all of your friends.

  2. Hillary putting together the ingredients to fix our country. She’s comfortable with the “HEAT”

    She’s a fighter

  3. She’s able to take tea, bake cookies and clean up the kitchen at one time.

She is WOMAN . it will take this woman to fix this country.

  4. Reminder: as we posted in the article, Hillary will be on Olbermann tonight. Hillary will also be on Larry King Live.

  5. well isn’t that the same thing Bambi and his astroturfing has been doing. the propoganda they have been spreading with misleading headlines and blatant lies, puffed up and skewed polling.

I hope Hillary takes the time to tell Keith Olbermann OFF. NOW is the time to bang his head hard.

I can just bet that Olberman, Tweety and RussetPotato head have been collaberating all morning for

    “her take-down”

  6. I hope she takes Olbermann apart like she did Timmy on MTP, i hope his ass can accomodate a size 7 stiletto once HRC wedges it in there. I think considering he’s had Obama’s head up there for months, thats no problem

  7. well if they go light on her tonight they will show them selves as the “whimps” they are

and if they go “tough” on her they will show themselves off as “bullies”

so its a lose lose situation IMHO for KO and the rest of the pundits 😀

  8. His Imperial Highness Emporer OBama has spoken. What a sad state of affairs for our country,if this poor excuse for a presidential wanna-be gets the nomination. The Oval Office will be the Throne Room,The new language will be hip-hop.The new anthem will be Rap and blues. There will be change. You can bet your welfare checks on that. This guy, will destroy this nation. That’s the price that we will pay for accepting a cult movement.led by an inexperienced and self absorbed Phoney. He calls it A Movement.I call it DISASTEROUS SLIDE INTO >ANARCHY.

  9. We won’t forget Michigan and Florida Chris:

Maryland Representative and DCCC Chair Chris Van Hollen — who directs the purse strings for congressional candidates and incumbents — sets a deadline for superdelegate decisions:

“I do support [Democratic National Committee Chairman] Howard Dean’s position to make a decision no later than July 1,” Rep. Chris Van Hollen, chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, told reporters at a breakfast hosted by the Christian Science Monitor.

Last week, Dean asked superdelegates to start deciding “right now.” Van Hollen is a bit more patient:

He acknowledged that many of the House’s most vulnerable Democrats have shied away from endorsing. “We haven’t been pressing them to endorse unless we think it’s clearly to their advantage,” he said, adding: “We haven’t been holding them back either.”

  10. reminder about pa from a friend who works there-
    1. the tire slashing story was on local media today.

  11. Hi everyone,

As you make your calls and work on the campaign, please take time to go and recommend this one at mydd about SEIU–which endorsed Obama–using Obama thug tactics against the all female CNA, California Nurses Association

It has been so bad a federal restraining order has been issued against SEIU!!

  12. Honestly you see tire slashing in every election. Obama just has more young people who are more prone to this kind of thing.

  13. ajia: President Dwight D. Eisenhower, warned the nation about this corruption of our Democratic System and the dangers of the
” MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX “.It is here folks and has been gaining enormous power with unlimited funds that the republicans have been able to accumulate. All happening before our eyes and on our backs. Don’t let it happen PEOPLE.Barack Hussein Obama,is the very person that the need to grease the skids. That is why they are afraid of HILLARY and are doing their best to destroy her.Where do you think Obama is getting the large amount of his funds. If you believe that is from college kids and hard working and poor black supporters. “I HAVE A USED OIL WELL TO SELL YOU ” VOTE THINK,WORRY,AND SAVE YOUR COUNTRY ”

  16. ininla im not sure what you’re implying but you’ve levied personal attacks at me since I got here. I’m not sure who you are and I don’t really care. You don’t know me. I’m here to talk with other people about our girl winning this thing, not to get attacked. Please leave me alone!

  17. linfar: I recommended your diary and posted a comment. As a Registered Nurse, I am appalled by the actions of SEIU. CNA has done more for nurses, than SEIU could even think of doing.

  18. You guys, we had SUCH a ggod response in PA this weekend!

My canvassing partner and I met this enthusiastic house full of women- literally three generations, mom (50s), daughter (30s) and granddaughter (10) who were all for Hillary!! 😀 We gave the daughter a button and the little girl a sticker.
We talked to the daughter and then the mom came out of the house a few minutes later and caught up with us and talked to us some more. She said that they were former Republicans who all changed party to vote for Hillary!!! 🙂 She said “my father is probably rolling over in his grave right now, but you gotta do what you gotta do!” 😀

  19. linfar,

i tried linking to the story but the page keeps DISAPPEARING after I’ve pulled it up! it happened 3 times!

  20. that new ad is her best. god that is good. i dont eblieve the susa-look at tis internals and who is undecided. she will do well.

  21. Well, win4hill, it was suggested on that slugish site, SA, that someone should post that old Naomi Wolf diary here, and then lo and behold you post it, so I think that is what Ininla is refering to.

  22. dot48, it’s so funny that Obama is outspending Hillary 4:1 in PA and he’s still losing.

I’d love to see a video, set to the Beatles’ “Can’t Buy Me Love”, juxtaposing Hillary’s strength in PA against Obama’s boatloads of cash 😀

  23. Why go on today? She may have PA won, so why let these Obama supporters try and bring her down…bad move imo.

  24. mj – What is “SA”? That link was sent to me by nephew, who despite all my hopes, is an Obama fan. I didn’t check the date of it, but I know there are many of us who are ardent feminists and have respect for Naomi Wolf, and I thought I had a crowd I could vent my frustrations with. Apparently I was wrong 🙁

  27. Obama’s money bomb

Obama’s supporters didn’t meet the goal they set themselves today of raising $1 million in a minute.

    But $245,000 ain’t bad.

  28. Guys we have enough trouble dealing with Obama without turning on ourselves. If you have a problem with a member, ask Admin to deal with it, but until then, lets just get on with it and stop bickering.

I have no reason to doubt anyones genuine here but please stop.

  29. Wolfson on Drudge poll

With Drudge reporting an internal Clinton poll said to have her up 11, Wolfson responds on a conference call with reporters:

The campaign “categorically den[ies] an obvious effort to raise our expectatons by somebody.”

Wolfson and pollster Geoff Garin said the campaign didn’t conduct a poll last night.

  30. djia,
The campaign probably wouldn’t admit it to the press if they had leaked it. Then again Drudge shouldn’t be trusted either so who knows.

  31. Email from Maggie Williams, urging Hillary’s supporters to take to the phones in these last 24 hours:

    Dear Democrats,

Hillary needs your help. With less than 24 hours left until the Pennsylvania primary and races across the country following soon after, it’s an all-hands-on deck moment for our campaign.

We need as many volunteers as we can get on the phones calling voters in Pennsylvania and other upcoming primary states. The calls you make are critical to our success tomorrow in this historic campaign. I can’t emphasize enough what a difference it makes to have Hillary’s best supporters — people just like you — making calls and speaking directly with voters. To put it as simply as I can, more calls equal more votes.

Even if you can only spare a couple of hours, you can have a big impact. The Pennsylvania primary is almost upon us, and Hillary needs you.

Sign up for a shift to make calls and help Hillary win.

I really appreciate everything that our volunteers do to help Hillary and the campaign. Thank you so much for caring about the future of our country.

    Maggie Williams

  32. Nikki

I am positive that their internals are probably higher than 11

but they want it kept on the down low

  33. Hi, everyone, I’ve been busy trying to get #5 granddaughter here, at this point it looks like a c-section, baby is breech! So what is this about slashing of tires, fill me in, where and who did this happen to?
I’m am glad that everyone seems so positive here today, because I feel like there will be a second President Clinton in a few short months!

  34. Maggie Williams should have run this from the start and we would have this thing wrapped up after Super Tuesday..she is tough as nails!!!

  35. djia,
I hope you’re right. I’m usually pretty positive and I’ve thought Hill would get a 12 or 13pt win, but that SUSA poll freaked me out. Then hearing BO say he would be close just got me all down. I know- the only poll that counts is on election day. From now on positive thoughts!

  36. No point at all going on Olberman as although he was fair in the past, ever since his special comment re” Ferrero it’s been downhill. Also, that ass wipe Michael Moore endorsed Obama today… I hope she really sticks it ot him and points out the hypocrisy ot their coverage…that bitch(sorry) Mika’s dad is another one who supports him and wants to meet with hamas!!!

  37. What does it matter if Hill goes on Olbermann? Stop worrying. She always does well with these guys. And, frankly, not that many people watch his show, so what’s the problem?

  38. I’m afraid that the interview with Olgerman is some kind of set up. He and MSNBC are so in the tank for bambi and they’ve been called on it. Mika on Morning Joe was about to shit a brick this morning .. she was ready to weep in her Starbucks.

  39. Nikki

you’re just prime example of why they do the poll thing…….to confuse you!! and to make you think something that is not

i have come to realize to think exactly the opposite of what they are saying 😀

  40. The way to win is work, not analysis or worry. Mayor Nutter’s advice holds: don’t read newspapers, don’t watch TV – work. Repeat of Berkeley Vox’s Maggie Williams email (the link for those wishing to make phone calls is on the right hand column of this site):

  41. Joe had to call Mika down this morning .. she said Hillary was Joe’s girlfriend and said that Joe was “in the tank” Joe told her that NO, he was the only one on MSNBC who wasn’t in the tank for Obama.

  42. Guys don’t worry, remember HRC is like a pitbull when she wants to, look how she took on Brit Hume, Russert and Obama single handed in that debate and beat the shit out of them.

    She can handle it.

  43. djia Says: i have come to realize to think exactly the opposite of what they are saying

Sort of like the Seinfeld epi where George goes against every instinct he’s ever had!

  44. win4hill – then, tell your “nephew” to stop participating in sites that say this about a previous member, member XXXX, who no longer posts due to the SA intimidation – “caress XXXX with a knife” [unfiltered version is worse] – tell your nephew that Obama followers who condone such things will be monitored, and your nephew would be a good lead.

    Here you go:

also, SA – same group that helps to plan some of the Lewinski questions at Chelsea campaign stops. That’s already been reported.

  45. Dot48, it isn’t Olgermann. It’s Ogreman. LOL.

Regardless of how they spell that jerk’s name, she will tear him a new one. I noticed Olbermann is getting lots of advice from the Obamabots telling him how to handle her.

Unless that program is streamed on MSNBC, I won’t get to watch it. If not, I hope someone can point me to a transcript or something.

  46. admin is right, the only polls that matter now are the ones of the voters tomorrow.

In every campaign, after all the speeches and rallies, the most crucial part is the GOTV effort.

Whoever wins this ground game is going to be the winner. That means, if BHO supporters are on the phones and we are not….well you do the math.

I challenge every Hillary is 44 poster to commit to a “minimum” of 44 minutes on the phone for Hillary today.

  50. Debbie is right. We need to get to work. Yesterday, we all felt great, but today polls only show a 5-7 margin, Rendell has lowered expectations to 2-3 points, and Obama has raised his expectations, so we have to accept that it looks closer than we had hoped, and we have to man the phones. That is the only choice now.

  51. I challenge every Hillary is 44 poster to commit to a “minimum” of 44 minutes on the phone for Hillary today.

Agreed. I will call this afternoon after work. EVERYBODY! sign up to call if only for 30mins.

  52. MJ et all

well i think rendell is also trying to motivate hill supporters to the poll with the low expectations
if voters think she has it in the bag they will tend to think they are insignificant and can just skip it.
thus rendell is trying to create the scenerio that will make sure they think each and every vote it is crucial, and it is

voters will have thoughts of they have to go vote by making them know their vote could mean the difference for hillary

  53. hey dont forget the .44 money bomb at 4:44 pm EST (or in your own time zone) plus whatever amount you can donate!

Obama wasnt able to meet his goal! eheheheheheh (evil laugh like the wicked witch on OZ)

  54. Nikk2: Regarding SUSA

I read that they stopped calling voters early at 6pm on Sat and Sun due to passover.

Therefore, Iw ould think that an asterisk must be put beside this poll as it is not 100% like their other polls.

I have to go back to ARG, Iknow, I know, they have a bad reputation but they were 95% right on TX and within 3or 4 on OH and they were pretty decent with MS.

Does anyone recall if Suffolk polled for OH? Can someone research on to see if they did and what their record was for TX and Oh. They have hill up at 10pts in PA in their poll today.

Quinniapiac has her up 1 to 7pts, Ras has her up 2 for 5pts today and Zogy has her up 3 to 6pts today but Zogby is really a bad pollster. Even ARG did better.

BTW – I also don’t understand why HRC would go on Ogremann after the way he’s trashed her. What’s the point? What does everyone think?

  57. I think Hillary should take Oballsman’s ball and dip them in egg wash and corn meal and fried them in oil and serve them to Andrea Mitchell.

  58. Hey y’all bookmark this page of links. All of the links are political in nature and can be used for research or to answer questions during the campaign. Ran across it and thought I’d pass it on.

BTW- I wish Kostner was here to tell ya’ll to pipe down. You’re getting ahead of yourselves again about the damn poll numbers. You guys do this every time. When will y’all learn it does no good to get wound up.

    Liquor. Liquor is the answer.

So here’s a shot recipe link:

    I suggest the “Hillinator”

3 oz Captain Morgan® Original spiced rum
    1 oz Firewater® cinnamon schnapps
8 oz Mountain Dew® citrus soda
    4 tbsp sugar

Mix the Captain Morgan’s, Mountain Dew and sugar in one glass. Pour the fire water into a shot glass. Take the shot, then follow it with the mixed drink. Make sure to drink the mixed drink quickly.

  59. Basil9, the point is: she is tough, and can answer tough questions and 👿 is a whiny baby.

If she can hold her own against Keith Ogreman who has outright vilified her unlike no other journalist has done previously (to anyone), then she owns :evil” ‘s ass. She proves she is tougher and can think on her feet. Also, it means she reaches out to the demographic of non-supporters who watch that crap.

It’s free air time, WTF not?

  61. We should hold a waffle fundraiser 🙂

And I think the admin is editing the content of my comments.

  62. sut sayin. and its all about pa anyway. like tm saying pa is do or die for hillary. she really needs a good win here and think she will get it. she needs it for mo, fundraising boost and maybe to really finish bambi off. pa is the tablesetter

  63. Here’s a nice drink…get a bottle of Maker’s Mark Kentucky Straight Bourban Whisky and pour a couple of shots of that smooth…Better yet, drink it while watching MessNBC.

  64. I hope the spelling of Olbermann’s name as Ogreman is not really my fault. Earlier I was just calling the guy an ogre. Hillary eats ogres for breakfast. She will destroy the guy, but very nicely. I wish I could see that show.

I know what you mean that by her handling Ogremann she proves a huge point but I just don’t think he deserves the ratings! 👿
    BTW- I’m officially a non hand-wringer now. I’ve been converted. 😀

I just heard on Hannity that Ozomba never responded to the NC debate and so it’s been cancelled.

  67. That utter fraud Olberman is probably sharpening his pencil right now trying with every fiber of his small mind to find questions that can trip Hill up.

    There are none. Fear not.

Hell, I wish she’d come out tonight and smash HIM head on (and laugh right in his fucking face!!!), and finally make media/media reform the issue it should be in this campaign.

Polls, Smolls, I don’t care about those either today
By ALL accounts, she’s set to take PA.
As far as I’m concerned, she needs only a win and she’ll get one.

Anything else regarding the spread is feeding into this bullshit media narrative about percentages and delegates – neither of which are going to matter at this point.

Just Enjoy. We’ve earned it. Hillary couldn’t deserve it more.

  68. basil,
Yeah, me too. He bitched out, the punk.

Hill should smack pom-pom girl Olbermann with that one right off the bat!

  69. Also, Obama raising expectations is a way for him to energize his supporters so they think PA is up for grabs. Remember, his campaign predicted he’d lose by 20 so if he loses by 8, for example, they’ll act like it was a huge victory.

  72. 👿 backed out of debates and forums for 4 months in 2007. His dismal performance last week nailed that opportunity shut.

The reason for both avoidances is simple- he sucks without a teleprompter. Unless someone feeds him a line, or he’s watched the video footage before or worse yet- he’s given unlimited time to talk in circles and confuse the listener, he’s got no game re: debates or forums.

Pfizer could make a fortune if they invented a form of Viagra for poor debaters like 👿 .

We need a good photo shop of 👿 doing the “lego my eggo” routine especially after Wafflegate or whatever they’ll call it by 5pm.

hmmm and she says she neutered??

  75. Found this about the NC debate @ DKooks;

“Despite pressure from the governor, from the local media, from their own-state campaign, Barack Obama’s advisers refused to accept an invitation to debate in North Carolina because they did not want to give Hillary Clinton any excuse to stay in the race beyond Tuesday, assuming she doesn’t fare that well. The Obama campaign’s gambit paid off: the debate is canceled”

Funny how Obama’s gambit’s always pay off (according to some).

That is until we whup his ass in PA and call him out for being the fraidy cat he is in NC!!!!

I disagree……brillo does not have a racial meaning… refers to a famous scrubby pad “brillo-pad”
I refuse to stop typing or saying words that some AA want to turn into a racial expression at whim when it suits them

I say BS to all that!! I have never been racists, have never uttered a racist comment and never plan too, now at times i might say something someone doesnt like…….but I won’t walk on eggshells for anyone!!!

“It is unfortunate that Senator Obama has chosen to brush off the people of North Carolina by flatly refusing to debate. But we are willing to move forward with another time and location for the debate so that he has no excuse for not participating.”…

  82. I think voters see throught the NC debate (or lack of one ) for what it is. He can not handle the pressure!

  83. Another huge gaffe today by Obama! God, how dumb IS this guy? The Clinton campaign’s response was dead on. From WaPo:

READING, Pa. — Democrat Barack Obama, who often argues that John McCain is the same as President Bush, said Sunday that the Republican presidential candidate would be an improvement over Bush’s eight-year reign.

“You have a real choice in this election. Either Democrat would be better than John McCain. And all three of us would be better than George Bush,” Obama said.

“But what you have to ask yourself is, who has the chance to actually, really change things in a fundamental way?” Obama asked as he wrapped up a town-hall style event at Reading High School in central Pennsylvania.

The Illinois senator was trying to argue that he is the stronger choice over Democratic rival Hillary Rodham Clinton in Tuesday’s primary in Pennsylvania. But Obama ended up mixing in praise for McCain at the same time _ and giving Clinton an opening to criticize.

“We need a nominee who will take on John McCain, not cheer on John McCain,” the New York senator said in Johnstown. She said the Arizona senator would follow “the same failed policies that have been so wrong for our country the last seven years.”

Before the positive comment about McCain, Obama had argued anew _ as he does at virtually every campaign stop _ that the Republican offers a vision identical to that of the Bush administration on everything from Iraq to the economy. “We cannot afford a third George Bush term and that’s what John McCain is offering _ a third Bush term,” Obama said.

But his a backhanded compliment threatened to undercut his own efforts _ and those of the entire Democratic Party _ to portray the GOP presidential nominee-in-waiting as nothing more than an extension of Bush’s unpopular tenure. At the very least, the remark provided fodder that Republicans can use in the general election to try to prop up McCain.

It also knocked Obama off message at a critical time as he seeks to further narrow Clinton’s dwindling advantage in Pennsylvania polls in the final days before the state’s primary.

  84. Ok, so Obama now has no regard for the people of North Carolina, Michigan, and Florida.

    Am I forgetting any?

  85. Obama condemns Clinton’s bin Laden ad
    Tue, 22 Apr 2008 01:23:39

Barack Obama’s campaign has condemned the ‘politics of fear’ by Hillary Clinton after her team launched a TV spot showing Osama bin Laden.

The ad entitled ‘Kitchen’ showed a rapid-fire montage of events including Pearl Harbor and the fall of the Berlin Wall, interspersed with clips of al-Qaeda leader bin Laden and Hurricane Katrina victims.

The stern male narrator quotes wartime President Harry Truman’s famous political maxim, which Clinton has repeatedly invoked on the campaign trail, ‘If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen’.

“You need to be ready for anything – especially now, with two wars, oil prices skyrocketing and an economy in crisis,” the narrator says. “Who do you think has what it takes?”

Obama spokesman Bill Burton said Clinton had voted for President Bush’s war in Iraq, which diverted attention from Afghanistan ‘and allowed Osama bin Laden to escape and regenerate his terrorist network’.

“It’s ironic that she would borrow the president’s tactics in her own campaign and invoke bin Laden to score political points,” Burton said Monday.

“We already have a president who plays the politics of fear, and we don’t need another,” he concluded.
So the Democrats has a candidate defending Osama Bin Laden on Iranian Televison while our BRAVE men and women is serving in Afgansitan and Iraq.

Obama can defend all these Anti-Americans but can’t wear a flag pin on his lapel….hmmm.

  86. dijia, okie,

I also will continue using brillohead as it’s a perfect description of her squashed blue-brillo-pad hair style.

I refuse to be silenced by everyone and anyone with a sensitivity to any word or term that doesn’t fit in with their world view unless it’s part of the linguistic cultural taboo list like f***, sh!t, etc. i refuse to be a another victim of the race-baiting frenzy. She’s a brillohead. period. Mathews is tweetie. KO is Ogremann. Ozomba is BO, his fault coz we can’t say hussein . . . . sorry . . . this one I’m not backing off. And, Okie, if ya want I’ll email you from hillbill’s and give you the long version of why I’m sticking to my guns. DB doesn’t like it. So what. HRC doesnt’ like being called C***, nutcracker, thighs of steel, a bytch on wheels . . . . and ya don’t hear her moaning about it.

  87. 45 seconds covering bill and hillary in downtown pittsburgh today followed by 2 minutesw 30 secs about an obama visit which has yet to happen . KDKA

  88. Carbynew

No no no…Wild Turkey my friend, or Evan Williams if you are supporting HRC and need to send her as much as possible, and still have a smooooth shot of bourbon.

  89. Chick’s for Hillary
    By Leonard Doyle

Chick’s Diner is a Scranton landmark and its full-on for Hillary. All chrome, red piping and bustling waitresses, Edward Hopper could have painted Nighthawks, his famous painting of customers sitting at the counter of an all night diner, here. This diner is always full by seven in the morning and it stays open 24 hours a day. It’s the best listening post in town and on the eve of the primary all the talk in this greasy spoon is about Hillary’s pending victory, at least in Scranton.

Lori, my platinum blonde waitress just cannot conceive of a president named Obama. “I just can’t see it,” she said, to a chorus of approval from the old timers at the counter. “And then when you realise his middle name is Hussein,” she said, “No, I don’t think so.”

Every US TV station seems to want footage of the customers at Chick’s and hear their views on the election. MSNBC was just on the phone and is sending a crew in the morning. Other TV crews have been and gone all day.

No one can remember so much excitement over an election. In the short time I spent at the counter I only heard conversations about the election. This is not what diner customers usually concern themselves with, trust me. But this is by far the most exciting election anyone can remember in these parts. Its partly because blue collar Scranton sees Hillary as one of its own and it badly needs friends in high places. Her father was born here and she has several relatives still here giving her a special edge in the contest.

“She’s gonna win big, I’m sure of it,” says Tony by the counter. “No question,” says his friend, Paul, “We don’t want that Obama fellow.”

The polls agree with the two elderly Italian-Americans. In North East Pennsylvania’s smaller cities like Scranton, she leads by 59% to 28% for Obama. Large numbers of working class white voters have flocked to her message.

In Philadelphia, with its large black population and in the well to do suburbs, Obama is expected to carry the day.

  91. so Henry, okie et anyone else

so it’s ok to have “pet” names for obama and hillary and……….

but its not for ms high and mighty brazille??? BS!!……..

now your injecting a double standard here

brillo is not even in the same league as “nappy” unless we were to say “those brillo headed…?” and were referring to AA with a broad paint brush then it would have a racial tone but referring to one AA woman who’s name begins with a similar sound is not

  92. Emjay,

I just became a bourbon drinker and I LOVE Maker’s Mark. I even use it when I make mojitoes. I use to be a tequila drinker because that drink is great for desert climate and L.A. Region is that.

But Maker’s Mark…is my drink with ice cream and apple pie.

  93. Well that hair on top of her head is hard as a rock, if she fell off the chair, the floor would be more damaged than her.

  94. How about this then:

    Brillo Puncher

“One who is generally not seen as a credible source of information and is not viewed as a responsible reliable person. The reason is normally do to the fact that they are to bust pushing brillo through their crack pipe to have a clue..”

I can agree that Brazile is exactly that.

  95. Dija
the term brillohead has racial undertones for me . and it is disconcerting for me to read, but you have every right to use what ever language you find appropriate.

  96. dj, it demeans this site and by implication HRC. When it’s used- the implication is that HRC and her supporters are racist. I know you are not. We both know she’s not, but it’s just insensitive.

Look, this is a battle that us oldtimers had many moons ago. The rule then and the rule now is not to do that.

As for the use of Hussein, I’ve got no probs with that, but the Muslim e-mail crap is bogus so don’t use both.

  97. Brillo Puncher

“One who is generally not seen as a credible source of information and is not viewed as a responsible reliable person. The reason is normally do to the fact that they are to bust pushing brillo through their crack pipe to have a clue..”

I can agree that Brazile is exactly that.

LOL Oakie……… i do agree with this one 😀

  98. Christ guys (and girls?),

    Brillo, not brillo. Here’s a word to focus your minds;

  99. Djia I like brillo and I’m not offended by it, I’m more offended by the crap Donna Brazille and Howard Dean is pulling at the DCN.

And yes, Donna Brazille is Brillo…so can we move on now.

  100. Well, that makes me a bit nervous, Brazile adopting BO talking points. Does that mean his internals look ok? Also, the stuff about her getting out after Tuesday, and her dwindling lead. Nervous. He should be leaing support after the month he has had. What on earth are these people voting on? I hope every single Hill supporter comes out tomorrow.

  101. I am wishing for great results, but how is Hillary’s campaign in debt??? I wish I could give more but I can’t. She had her best fundraising month in Feb. and March wasn’t too shabby either. There is some mismanagement because there is no way a campaign or anybody could blow through practically $50 million in that short amount of time.

  102. Blue Dem,

    North Carolinians
    Garlic noses
    Fishing people

  103. A mojito is gooood. 😆

One of the VP’s of OfficeMax gave me a great recipe last Summer. he said: “Not too much mint….and put the liquor mix in the cup before topping off with soda. Mix the liquor but make ’em as you go with the soda or they go flat.”

I find it also helps to add a very, very little vanilla to the simple syrup.

  104. Oh please, stop with the debt. Every campaign ends up in debt. It’s totally normal. BO’s supporters have deep pockets, so thats the difference.

  105. Idunn is gone. She’s apparently lost interest. 🙁

Also, stop w/the “new politics” already, Brazile. He attacks Hill and the former President all the time, he just does it with a coke and a smile. Nuthin new about that. Also, the disenfranchising of FL/MI. Again, old politics.

  106. I think brillohead is a hurtful term. It is very similar to “nappy-headed” in its tone. You have every right to use it if you want, basil, and I am not saying that YOU yourself mean it in any racist way at all. That is likely not your intent.

But it is just as wrong as using sexist language to describe Hillary. Be aware that there are a lot of AA’s taking a lot of shit for supporting Hillary, and it does not help to use terms that they may find personally hurtful. The argument of the sexists is that it is okay to call Hillary a b**ch and a c**t because in their view it is TRUE. My argument is that using sexist framing hurts ALL women, not just the one you are speaking of. “I hate her, so she deserves it” is not a very good reasoning. Same is true for racially-loaded terms. I could not give ONE RAT’S ASS whether Donna Brazile is hurt by it, since I can’t stand her. But I do care whether my AA friends and neighbors are hurt.

Just because you have the RIGHT to do something does not always mean that you should.

  107. henry,
I get what you’re saying; the extreme sensitivity about hair – but believe me, the nickname started coz everyone is adding ‘O’ to everyone’s last name; Bill-O, Keith-O, BO, etc. and brazile got shortened to brill-O and it was after that the association with brillo pads started and it was just funny. BTW – it’s coz we can’t say HUSSEIN that Ozomba got stuck with BO!

I’ll use brillo. Just out of respect for you. but I can’t erase the images of her with stacks of brillo pads on her head. maybe if she would CHANGE the friggin hair color to black or brown or all grey but that blue grey hue looks just like brillo pads.

  108. Look, I’ve thought some of things when I’m mad and they’re taking potshots at our girl. The wax thing is one, but I normally don’t use them.

As a female, I can tell you we all hate the C word, but there are times each of us- whether out loud or in our own heads has thought that some particularly bad person, someone who is just spiteful and hateful to the extreme is one. I use it equally with men and women when it pops out. Just sometimes words like jackass don’t seem to be enough.

  109. That’s just great Basil. Thanks.

FOX asking whether Obama just “made a monster mistake” in complimenting McCain, which of course Hill is already hitting him on.

  110. We could all agree on Brazilla, a big stonking monster that stomps around trying to get its own way and if it doesnt will wreck anything in its path.

  111. A big favorite of mine is c***sucker. It just evokes such imagery and it’s not nearly as emasculating as my all time favorite cutdown for a guy…………..which I cannot repeat here. But damn is it good.

  112. I do like the name brillo, but I hate to sink to the level of the bots. We maybe considered the over 50 female set, but we are above it all the bots!

  113. Can’t we agree Donna Brazille is a hideous, conniving,
lying ____ (insert adjective of your choice) traitor of
true democratic principles and move on?

  114. Moon, you could just call her Brazile Wax for the sole reason that she’s painful instead of the other reason. Her logic is always so tortured, it’s incredibly painful to watch or listen to her.

  115. H4texas,

well – i don’t get the nappy-head thing, either. I know i went through he!! in HS and as a teen coz i had curly frizzy red hair but i either lived with it or changed the style or cut it real short. i tried ironing it, straightening it, coinditioning it, layering it, growing it, blow-drying it, scrunching it, moussing it, gelling it and finally i gave up and decided i’d let it be who it wanted to be and since then i’ve been on relatively good terms with my hair.

But I understand where you’re coming from. still – i don’t like being deprived of my right to free speech and that’s top of the list of Ozomba priorities.

if her were ever in the WH we’d be referring to it as Obama-speech. :shuddering:

  116. I wish people like Taylor Marsh would stop saying she needs a big win. I want a big win, but the polls suggest a decent but not huge win. This raising the bar is getting out fo hand.

  117. Clinton camp: Obama ‘jeopardizing’ his brand in Pa.

    By Klaus Marre
A senior strategist for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.) said Monday that Sen. Barack Obama’s (Ill.) campaign is “jeopardizing” his brand by going negative ahead of Pennsylvania’s Democratic primary.

“They made a very serious choice that will have longstanding consequences to put their brand at stake in order to try to deliver this knockout blow,” said Clinton’s chief strategist, Geoff Garin, in a conference call on the eve of the crucial contest. “They’ve been campaigning … with this notion of ‘politics of hope.’ I don’t think that that’s how they’ve behaved.”

Garin called the decision “high-risk and high-consequence” and argued that it was a conscious choice to go after the former first lady with negative ads.

“I think they’ve really changed the arithmetic here by spending as much as they had, throwing as much mud as they have, jeopardizing their brand in the way they did,” Garin added. “I think they have changed the standards in Pennsylvania in a very significant way.”

Clinton is continuing to lead in the state, but her advantage has narrowed as Obama has poured resources into Pennsylvania. The former first lady’s team, though wishing for a big victory, hopes to hang on to a win, which would allow Clinton to make the case to Democratic superdelegates that Obama has not been able to win large swing states that will be important in the general election.

The Illinois senator, on the other hand, would like to end Clinton’s hopes of winning the nomination by rallying past her in Pennsylvania. However, Obama would likely also be satisfied with a close loss, which would prevent Clinton from significantly reducing his delegate lead.

The Obama campaign is working on a response to Garin’s charges.

  118. I understand, basil. You get so sick of every little thing supposedly branding you a racist, that the natural human response is to bow up and say, “Hell, no, I will say what the f**k I want, and if you want to call me a racist then EFF YOU!”

I do understand that feeling. Honestly, I do. And I don’t think you are a racist, not at all. I just think that we still have to listen to each other (not to BO’s faux race-card bullshit.) And if AA friends are telling us that yeah, it hurts and makes me cringe, even if I know you didn’t mean it “that way”, then maybe we ought to back off of whatever it is instead of just being stubborn about it.

Just my opinion, take it or leave it. I’m cool.

  119. Ok….been on the phone for an hr…

    about 45s calls…

    25 – refusals/hangs up/am/cb
    10 – hill
    5 – bo
    2 – cannot vote; independent or not a citizen/not registered…..
    3 – undecided

  120. did you guys like the new ad today? Im not sure if I do but I cant hear so not sure what to think of it!

Also keep each other posted when Hillary will be on TV! Im dying to see her in Philadelphia!

  121. Hey everyone,

I am kinda scared. What does Obama know, we don’t?

he is gonna look terrible for predicting he will come close, etc–so why did he do it.

Does he know something. I am taking a break from phoning.

I am going to have a heart attack before tomorrow’s results. it is an imprtant race, tomorrow.

  122. Blue, et al.,

I’m sorta torn. On one hand Brazilla- makes reference to Godzilla and how very large DB Pooper is. I mean, she’s liek 6’4″ and 280lbs, right? And yes, half of that may be her hair, but….

The allure of Brazill-o- like she’s one of the boys (which is possible if you’ve seen her Adam’s Apple)…

Coin flip for me on this one, folks.

  123. linfar Says:

    April 21st, 2008 at 5:47 pm
mj, I agree. If she wins by 10 pts now people will act like she lost.

No, I think 10 points will be consider a big win, but with all the mud he is slinging not sure we will get that.

  124. oh i wait with baited breath for the obama response LOL!!!

uh um… ah um… ah um…….i would just like to say this first…….

  125. Bradzilla?

    Or brazillo.

H4T – We’re cool. I am in the silly season tonight anticipating the giddiness coming our way tomorrow when HRC triumphs! Plus I find semantics intriguing.

  126. The PA insider advantage poll is:
    49 HRC
    39 BO

Yeah, he is raising his expectations, so maybe they know something we don’t, or it might just be his people won’t show up if they think it will be a big loss. No way to know.

  127. mj, so you think it is really tightening too?

Oh, God. I wish I could go to sleep and wake up to Hill’s Humongous Victory

  128. I think the kitchen ad is by far the best most effective one that they could of possibly made

it requires the voters to think rather than tune out

  129. lin, you didn’t pay attention to the middle of the 4:29. You always get wound up. Stop being a Nervous Nelly. It gets everyone else skittish, too.

Dammit. I want Idunn back so we can play and be funny and keep you guys from losing it.

  130. Who are all these undecideds? Wish we knew which way they were leaning. These are two substantially different candidates. Why can’t they make up their minds?

  131. If Hillary wins at all tomorrow — which she definitely can — it will be an upset of epic proportions. Obama outspent her 4:1 in the state and has been calling for her to quit the race, saying she “can’t win.” If Obama can’t seal the deal, and she takes the state tomorrow, it will mean we are POSSIBLY on the verge of one of the greatest comebacks in American political history.

This will all be moot without massive GOTV efforts in the meantime though! Do what you can to call PA voters tonight 😀

  132. I am not alwasy nervous :)Except when it gets down to the wire.

And if I can’t be nervous here–where else?

Besides It Is Nervous Making–so there…

  133. The news here is all about Obama. KDKA just did a several minute piece on a 90 year old woman and what she had lived through and only at the end did they say she was going to vote for bambi. Bill and Hill both here for a rally they got 45 seconds Obami wil be here later today and that story got 2 plus minutes.

  134. dj, even when compared to the 3AM ad?

lin, the fuss is it has Bin Laden in the ad. I don’t think that’s the same as Code Orange like Bush did by any stretch of the imagination. The 👿 campaign is just in free fall mode IMHO.

Let’s post some good youtube links. Funny stuff to get our heads out of the minutia of the election.

  135. I have to say i am excited about Hill’s KO deal tonight

I’ve wanted her to have the opportunity to put him in his place for a long time now 😀

  136. Linfar, I asked because I can’t hear, and what I saw was kind of ‘scary’ but now it said it had musical effect and was to the point, that helped.

Also, DO NOT FRET over the polls, polls are polls, remember?

    New Jersey
    Rhode Island

All of these states – it was repeatedly claimed that Obama has closed the gap or was able to beat Hillary, when came election day – Hillary came out and beat Obama – Texas she snucked by slowly but surely!

Pennsylvania will go to Hillary! I know people are raising expecations of Hillary and this is unfair of course. Yet superdelegates should look at it this way:

Hillary’s won all the critical states, Obama has not.

People should look at it this way – Obama is the ‘republican’ candidate – McCain and Hillary winning these states. Obama as of today will not be able to turn any red states blue. Maybe in his dreams!

  137. okie,

And I was TRYING so hard to get those images outta my head and move on to the kitchen ad and you HADTA say this!

‘I mean, she’s liek 6′4″ and 280lbs, right? And yes, half of that may be her hair, but…’

Lin – She’s gonna WIN tomorrow! Big! End of story! They’re just spinning. (that’s my intuition speaking but also Geraldo SAID she’s gonna win by 10+ – and the pope sprinkled holy water all over the eastern US – and also did lots of incense burning, too, from Yankee Stadium to JFK, from WTC to the bronx.) I think he might have some clout. 😀

  138. Well, jeeze, are we supposed to pretend like bush Bin Laden isn’t out there anymore?

We will have a dirty bomb on our soil probably before next President’s term ends.

Yeah, I know , happy little camper here.

But the terrorist threat from Al Qaeda hasn’t been put out under Bush watch.

And they wanna score the big one so baaaaad.

  139. Yup thats the angle he spents millions upon millions in PA and couldnt win, same with Ohio and Texas.

    Thats the angle.

  140. Yeah but usually she can rely on local coverage. Henry is saying she is not even getting that. And, I am sure there are tons of 90 year old women for Hill. Why was that lady so important?

  141. yeah…keep on calling…I am taking a short break and then go on for another hr.

the funniest one (in a weird sense) I got so far is one guy….he said McCain is counting on his vote!

  142. OkieAtty Says:

dj, even when compared to the 3AM ad?

yep i think its 10 times better than the 3am ad, and that was great too!

  143. Berkley, I don’t recall 👿 estimating a percentage point. Do you? If it’s within 15, he’ll say, “See. Not so bad.” If it’s within 5, he’ll say the same thing, but louder.

I am not worried. You should only worry about that which you have control. PA voters have the control right now. Just trust them to make the right choice. I also think they’re saturated with calls. Any more might push them elsewhere. I’ve experienced it before as a voter and as a campaigner and it’s not pretty.

Hillary and the family will have a good time for the next 24 hours meeting people and pushing the message, but really, the greater work has been done in the last two weeks.

    H4T, great call!

    Here’s mine:

  144. mj
it was one station but i definately perc’d a bias. i can only watch one at a time so i do not know what the others did. all of the local media however was there today for the rally.

  145. justme,

I don’t believe the polls much.

What has got me anxious now is Obama saying it will be close.

He has never done that before. They always downplay the results so they look good later.

It’s hard to know. Maybe everyone saying she is gonna win it will mobilize his base, the way in the past that mobilized hers. I dunno.

  146. I will never hear this song the same.

BTW- The 1974 series. Just close your eyes and listen to the guy’s voice.

  147. linfar,

Yeah, but holy water is holy water and the pope probably has a pretty strong batch.

Me – I got my own religion I’m an Avian Abbess.

  148. I think its to mobilize his base into thinking he can win to make sure they vote so to limit damage, thats what i think.

  149. I’m going home and as I can’t post from my pc at home, guys keep calling PA for HIll.

Say a prayer for Hillary, I know that she can do it.

Nikk2 and Highlyeducatedfor Hillary, everything except ARG and Suffolk are showing less than a 10pt win but I thinkt hat she can scrape it out.

This is almost how it felt when we had TX and OH.

I have to think that Rendell, Nutter and all of those Mayors KNOW how to GOTV for hIll to keep down Obama’s edge in Philly and the surrounding burgs.

Ed Rendell rode that strategy to victory against Casey by focusing on the city/Philly and the burbs and he won so he should know what to do to get Hillary to keep that margin down.

Guys, donate also. Report the status of your calls.

  150. moonpluto, you are probably right. I am just so used to Hill coming fron behind that when it looks like she is ahead, it is making me ever more nervous.

  151. I am also of the opinion that all that can be done has been done in PA. I’m surprised that the local coverge at least isn’t covering Bill and Hillary’s last minute blitz..Bill was awesome.

I’m ready to leave it to the PA voters. She’s done all she can do and with the money she had, she’d been quite effective with her advertising.

This time tomorrow we will have a better idea ..

Personally, I’m gonna pray really hard tonight that the voters of PA make the right choice and by big margins .. Hillary

  152. Idunn, if you are peaking, log in. Could use the levity.

So Matthews Friday was expecting big win for Hill. Today he says polls may be skewed, not getting enough younger voters. What’s up with that?

  153. mj, that’s an old argument by the Obama camp. I bet they have contacted Matthews after his comments about Hillary winning big to get in their “spin”

Nothing with underpolling of young voters has shown up in any of the primaries so far…it’s just politics by the Obama campaign…

  154. So if Hillary wins with less than 10pts she needs to get out (Just heard this on my local station ) What the hell is that about? I think when she WINS (by any margin) she needs to ask Obama to get out of the race! If he can’t win OH,PA,MA, and others, he won’t be able to win the Ge!

  155. dija, love it!

Any updates whether or not if Hillary’s on TV?

Gotta see her in rallies to keep me going! its like meds for me!

  156. MJ : Hillary gets no real coverage in Pgh because all of the radio and tv outlets are owned or controlled by the MSM and they are owned by MS Publishers and they mainly feature The republican mouthpieces and columnists. How does Hillary get fair coverage in this environment.DOWD-SCHRIBMAN_WILL-KELLY-NORMAN-KRAUTHAMMER-MSNBC-CNN-FOX.Our DEMOCRACY IS FAST SLIPPING AWAY.A good piece of news,The Pgh.Tribune Review, endorsed Hillary. It is owned by Richard Mellon Scaife, the multimillionaire that bankrolled the BC impeacment.A true case of his Buyer’s Remorse. 157. I’ve never heard such bullshit by the media .. pushing this 10 point thing. A win is a win. Ask anybody who plays football, basketball, nascar, any sport.

Just moving the goal posts yet again.

A win will show the super delegates that with a boatload of millions burned in PA and 6 weeks on the ground, outspending Hillary 4 and 5 to one .. Obama can’t close the deal with the American public.

The sd’s are worried about a winner in the GE .. if he only carry’s his niche tommorow .. and isn’t able to move in on Hillary’s base … spending all that dough … its a Big Loss For Him .. I don’t care how the media will try to spin it.

The media is trying to stop her momentum out of PA into NC and beyond. It’s that simple.

  158. Well, that is just very unusual. Everywhere else she has at least be able to tap into decent local coverage.

  159. it doesn’t matter what the media says, thinks or does

because it what the SD think and does that matters, and that will come with what they know not what the MSM tells us little people

  160. After all this this, if she wins big tomorrow, Hillary should do what they did to Thatcher,

    yes i won big

“don’t you think Obama looks a bit tired”

  161. Who is a better speaker George Bush or Obama? This is a pretty bad question to ask but it makes me very nervous!!!!!

  162. brit hume talking about the Q poll now, just said obama is a bit over polled sometimes (meaning his numbers are not accurate)

  163. I believe he meant that his numbers were said to be higher than they should be……but i could be wrong?

but then we all know it to be true 😀

  164. did you hear?

NC Debate Cancelled – per Taylor Marsh – Obama obviously can’t take the heat

  165. He is declining the debate, so that there is not a reason for Hillary to continue past Tues (so his campaign says). The real reason: He gets skunked everytime during a debate.

  166. I called ppp(d) last week and it was just a few rings and a guy answered and I asked who was responsible for the polling and he said himself, and I asked why are the polls so off from the rest and he laughed and said it just happens, no reason why or how but it just happens, I told him that his polls are so of the mark that it must be embarrasing to see it like this and he said no, but when the state is lost it is. All the polls for penn are for Hillary but this guys today! PPPD shows Obama up 3 in PENN! Whats does this remind you of? I feel like this polling center should be branded with a tee shirt or something! Hillary up 5000, Obama up 4.

  167. shhhh – on AOL straw poll its now 64 Clinton 36 Obama and Hillary leads in all 50 states 😉 whoo hoo

  168. Tweetie says HRC’s numbers up by 5,7, or 10.

steve highsmith saying one of the candidates is gonna be told to go fly a kite tomorrow.

fata$$ crowley saying demographics good for HRC.
    Check this: 😈
    more women

  169. maybe Hillary should do the debate with Mike Gravel.

Unless everyone thinks he should drop out for the good of the party.

  170. then it is UP TO US THE PEOPLE to remind NC that Hillary offered Obama to do the debate but Obama feels NC is stupid to not see the real Obama so to decline the debate hoping to decieve the people of NC

  171. I’ll will never under stand these ex-republicans like arriana Huff n Puff being so Anti-American.

Obamapost has some of the Anti-American Headlines I’ve ever seen running in a presidential election.

Obamabots in the media are going crazy over Hillary’s Kitchen ad, like she should not talk about the Commander n Chief role of the president. And to say including Osama Bin Laden as enemies of this nation is war mongering is ridiculas and I find very interesting since we know how closely allied Obamapost is to Team Obama.

I’am highly suspect of Obama’s patriotism since he has not problem defending this country known enemies and excuses for NOT wearing a flag lapel pin during wartime.

  172. carbynew

that’s a sure sign that this ad is so powerful, and they know it, so his campaign has to attack it 😀

  173. justmeinmountdoral,
    In case you didn’t catch the audio, here it is;
1-It’s the toughest job in the world.
(shots of truman, Bin Laden, Katrina)
2- – you need to be ready for anything.
    3 – Especially now with 2 wars
    oil prices skyrocketing
    an economy in crisis.
harry truman said it best. if you can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen. Who do you think gas what it takes?
Without the soundtrack the video could look scary but I think it’s a good ad. .

  174. I can’t see what the big deal of showing Osama .. he’s a threat still, he’s still out there and we are still fighting the war on terror.
    ‘t t
They are the biggest bunch of whine bags I ever seen

He definitely can’t take the heat .. duckling out on the next debate is a sure sign of weakness

  175. Carby,

Images of Osama bin Laden is warmongering?????????

He’s on tape for 1 second, along with Katrina, Truman, stock market crash, announcement of WW!!.

Gimmeabreak! DO these peopel REALLY believe their comments are true???? Now i’m getting even more scared – of THEM!

  176. maybe the ad should have said:

If you cant take the heat, stop eating your waffle and get out of the kitchen.

  177. wow Hillary should have a lot of media tonight,

first with Ob-whatever-sp-man name he is on MSNBC

second with Larry, “Ain’t I cute?,” King

and the rally in Philadelphia with Bill, Chelsea, and Im sure the usual PA people

  178. in reality, obama simply isn’t equipped to take the flak. He folds like a cheap card table when the hard stuff comes. That is not the sign of a strong leader

  179. They don’t want Osama mentioned for the simple fact they don’t want the Obama Osama names linked nor any reference to Hussein. Its basically to keep the muslim name thing in check.

  180. ABC News’ Eloise Harper reports: Former President Bill Clinton, speaking to reporters after his wife’s event in Pittsburgh, PA Monday, said that under the republican primary system –- his wife would be ahead by hundreds of delegates.

“I did not actually get the delegates necessary to have a first power of the nomination under the crazy system the democrats have,” Clinton said. “If we were under the republican system which is more like the electoral college, she would have a 300 delegate lead …It’s an eternity ’til the general election, an eternity.”

    Go figure

  181. well I guess the media would have to call Osama .. Mr. Bin Laden then in the event of a Obama adm.

this is the biggest bunch of bullshit. whine, cry, whine, cry, whine, cry

  182. they just showed on MSNBC Obama eating his waffle. Wouldn’t you think waffles would be off the menu during a heated primary?

Silly, I know, but somehow symbolic.

  183. Glad Bill Clinton will dare tell it like it is!

It’s an eternity till the GE .. he’s talking to the sd’s. Who knows what big goof up the snob will make before then!

  184. when does Hillary appear on Ob-whatever-his-name-man is? Also on Larry King? Im confused because she’s h aving this downtown rally at 8:00 in Philadelphia

  185. Get this part, He’s getting slaughtered in the rural parts of PA.

This is Clinton country. A new poll from Suffolk University, out today, shows Clinton leading Barack Obama statewide, 52 percent to 42 percent. But in the southwestern part of the state, here in the Mon Valley, Clinton has a huge lead, 74 percent to 17 percent.

“People from the Mon Valley are fighters! You’re fighters because— you know what? You didn’t go to Harvard! You weren’t born with a silver spoon in your mouth! You live right here in this valley!”

As warmup acts for Hillary Clinton go, Pennsylvania State Rep. Peter Daley is just the ticket. Here in this valley — the Mon Valley, short for Monongahela, in the southwestern corner of Pennsylvania — Daley is speaking to a crowd of more than 1,000 people gathered to see Clinton in the gym at California University of Pennsylvania. Daley, born and raised in the Mon Valley, is still a bit angry about Barack Obama’s “bitter” comments — “absolutely appalling,” he tells me after he leaves the stage. But Daley doesn’t deny that there are people in the economically-challenged Mon Valley who are bitter. He just doesn’t think Obama gets what it’s all about.

“People in this region aren’t bitter in the sense that he understands,” Daley explains. “Their bitterness is the fact that they’re just tired of losing their jobs, losing opportunities, losing their young people, just because we haven’t had that federal help, that little push to keep those steel mills here, keep those coal mines here, and create manufacturing opportunities.” That, of course, is pretty consistent with what Obama said, but it was the second part of Obama’s statement — the part about clinging to religion, or guns, or bigotry — that rankled. “Unconscionable,” Daley tells me.

  186. Joe Scarborough ripped on Obama a lot today. I just sent him an email:

Joe, you have been telling it like it is. GOOD FOR YOU.

God, I am SO sick of the Invertebrate Wing of the Democratic Party foisting these loser whiny ass titty babies on us that I could just PUKE. Kerry, Dukakis, et al. Now Obama.

The NC Dem party says they are afraid it will hurt “party unity” if there is another debate, huh? No, they are afraid The Precious will look clueless and unprepared again. Oh, the humanity!

Jesus Christ on a waffle cone, what utter idiots. The DNC has, this year, an AMAZON of a candidate who could take this party farther than we have ever been. And they are falling over backwards running interference for Namby Pamby Man so he does not stub his poor widdle toe.

    It’s embarrassing. Truly embarrassing.

Like her or not, Hillary Clinton ain’t afraid of nothin’ or nobody. And the stupid DNC may lose another election because they are dumb as a box of rocks to not see that.

  187. LOL…….IF and its a big IF he is the nom……I can just picture the GOP ad now!! LOL

    obama has another gaffe…..

then comes the clip of obama: can i just eat my waffle!!

There are even more volunteers out canvassing. Everyone I’ve met seems to be from Ohio (Cleveland, like myself) and there is a group from NY, too.

Phone banking today was rough, scripts were both to Harrisburg and Philadelphia, inviting people to the rallies there. The PA people are suffering from pre election phone fatige and getting some really heated complaints. Elderly woman are the sweetest!!! They are so pumped to vote tomorrow. I asked all if they need rides, give us a call and they declined. They are all set and ready to go!

Chelsea was here today, I didn’t get to see her, but Neetabug did. I will let her fill you in on that event.

We went out and did some visibility. Good response from our favorite corner. Again, you can count on those sweet old ladies blasting their horns with huge smiles on their faces. Noticed that we had a lot of support from young men! 20-40 or so!!! They equalled the old ladies, and young women were honking like it was a popular strip in some beach spring break town.

Overall, great feeling for PA. Can’t wait for the polls to open in the AM!!!

  189. dot48 thats what I was wondering if it was taped, but Larry’s usually live – checked out the website and it said live

  190. Dobbs:
Errol Louis saying HRC will probably win bu double digits – polls show she has 7% lead but with 7% undecided most of those will probably break her way.

Zimmerman says he expects her to exceed 7%.

Everyone agrees Indiana is the tie=breaker.

guess I’m gonna HAVETA tune in to ogremann.

  191. so NOW the media is moving the goal posts to Indiana??? First it was Texas, then Ohio, then PA, now it’s Indiana?

  192. Dija, they’ll set up an insult watch, who will Obama insult today, vote now?

    Will it be

A : The Italian garlic noses
    B : Typical White People
C : Bitter Small town folk.

  193. mononpluto

D: those typical gays who are always “proselytizing”

E: the women who get “periodically down”

    F: wild-eyed gun-toters

  194. shenanigans,
thanks for the report! great work! Be sure to pop in tomorrow with your eye witness accounts!
    moonpluto, h4Texas,
Report from yesterday: I read a strange but somehow plausible explanation of the lukewarm reception HRC gets from the dems stemming from the fact BO is percieved as bringing more people into the party and evn if he’s the nominee and loses the net gains will have been worth it.????????????????
talk about TWISTED LOGIC! And yet, i wouldn’t doubt that such arguments are being floated by Kennedy, Kerry, etc. 👿

  195. moonpluto,
forgot to add those to the list!
    North Carolinians
    Garlic noses
    Fishing people
    typical white people
    bitter small town folk

  196. basil .. plus Kerry, Kennedy, and others get the so called monkey off their back. and I’m not using that term in any way racial .. before anyone gets in a huff.

  197. Meiyingsu

Thanks for the cnn live stream heads up!

    Keep em coming.

How in the world do you, and some others (like terrondt) find out about them?

    Xie xie.

  198. dot.

(but the monkey thing – OMG – this is so PERVERTED that anyone feels they have to think abiout such nonsense. Race baiting at it’s best).

  199. fcuk i turned in one minute early .. just in time to see TweetyBird continue to rape Hillary. Fcuk him and the whole bunch on msnbc. Just one minute makes me want to throw up.

  200. how can Obama continue to tink people can fall for him? same old tatics? he does the SAME THING HIMSELF!

  201. “Report from yesterday: I read a strange but somehow plausible explanation of the lukewarm reception HRC gets from the dems stemming from the fact BO is percieved as bringing more people into the party and evn if he’s the nominee and loses the net gains will have been worth it.????????????????”

We’ve been down this road before. The only people Obama is bringing in (besides Republicans who are voting for him so we’ll lose in Nov.) are young voters, and THEY DON’T VOTE RELIABLY. Every cycle, we register these voters, and every cycle they don’t vote in large enough numbers to help that much. In the meantime, we’re going to lose Latinos, the fastest growing group in the country, and we’re alienating many Democrats who are or could be reliable voters, except they prefer McCain to Obama. We lose elections because we chase the youth vote (and no offense, I’m young too, but look at the numbers) while ignoring trying to increase turnout among reliably Democratic voters like single women and other groups who don’t vote as much. And this is especially crazy, since Obama doesn’t seem to be gaining much traction in blue and purple states where lots of young people live, and it would take a hell of a youth turnout to have any hope of carrying the deep red states he’s won in this primary.

  202. Emjay, I searched for it without success. If you find a way to view it please post that info here. thanks

  203. I hope someone tapes it and shows the main parts of it for us. I want to see her clean his clock.

  204. basically she’s answering questions asked by Olbermann – emphasizing you have to know what you are electing and his/her position as president

  205. Lifted from Taylor’s blog re Hill playing with Keithy like a cat with a toy:

“Cheers! Lift a glass to Hillary.

The most tenacious political powerhouse the Democrats have seen in a very long time.

  206. mj,
if I can BEAR to watch I’ll chime in.

    Here she is, from Harrisburg.
Something that started at debate last week – will the november election hinge on the price of gas?
She’s talking articulately, as usual, mentioning that oil hit $117 per gallon today. Man, i feel it, too – $3.70 per gal in my area. She’s going on about energy policy to stop dependence on foreign oil – she is strong – says she would give a speech if she were president about home grown energy . he’s not interrupting …
    She would

KO – something else that flew by in the debate – hypotheticl Iranian attack on Israel – he’s quoting her comment about an umbrella group – which countries would qualify for massive retaliation . . . sounds like a set up question to me .

2 questions so far, both aimed at supposedly ‘clarifying’ points that got ‘supposedly received short shrift in the debate.

She’s going on about preventing Iran from becoming a nuclear power and were they to become so their attacks on Israel would provoke a nuclear retaliation from US.

Now he’s going on about the new ad and brings up that Bin Laden’s pic shows up in ad. He says doesn’t hshe think it’s a scare tactic????????

    What an A$$.

She’s putting him in his place. This campaign is about LEADERSHIp (kiefy-O) People should UNDERSTAND what a serious position the presidency is. We don’t know what the next president will face and needs to be ready for anything.

    She sounds great.
National Security will be a prime issue in the Fall. NO ONE should be surprised
We should GET REAL about issues . .
She thinks she will be the best president of the 3 cnadidates.

Whya were you critical of BO saying McCain could be commander in chief.
He’s quoting her remarks last month that she cheered on McCain at Obama’s expense . .

She hesitates – says Not at all – McCain has vast experience in the military . but he has the wrong ideas.

Hahahaha – she says she thinks George Bush is the worst president and it’s a sentiment you’ve raised on your show.

KO bringing up Protesters on plaza!!!!!!!!! “do you believe with the protesters that criticism of your campaign is sexism?
She laughs – she says the historic nature of the campaign has caused a lot of ‘cognitive dissonance” *LOL* Then says it will be a landmark whoever is nominated.

Vast Right Wing Conspiracy – from 90’s – brings up Richard whssisna,e – Mellonscaife – why do you accept his endorsement of you over the weekend???????
KO says he would have walked out after the comments he made about the right wing conspiracy. Using that
She says she was kind of curious.
    She believes in redemption
She believes in death bed conversions
    Oh she is good –

KO says they asked Obama to appear or one of his surrogates but was told the schedule made that impossible

  207. per the pbp on TM, she cleared up misstatements and did a great job. One poster said, “she has ovaries of steel.”

  208. he wanted to twist her up in the endorsement from the “vast right wing” and she turned it magnificently .. said she is bridging gaps even as we speak LOL

I was disappointed she didn’t call the whole MSNBC network on their sexism and bias ..especially since Olgerman said that there had been protests about it in front of their offices

  209. KO opened with a policy question, then went on the attack.

KO asked Hillary about the Bin Laden photo in the ad and said that since the time of Max Cleland Democrats do not do this. Hillary responded it is time to get real and engage in national security questions.

Hillary calm and sweet throughout (wearing organgy jacket and black t shirt top)

KO then tried to get Hillary on her saying McCain could be a commander in chief but blasting Obama for saying McCain would be better than Bush.

Hillary responded that McCain has the experience to be commander in chief but that he would be worse than Bush because of the policies he would pursue after 7 years of Bush.

    By then KO was deflated.

KO asked about Scaife and the endorsement by his newspaper.

Hillary said she was surprised and also believes in redemption.

Hillary did very well. KO tried but Hillary triumphed once again.

  210. I think Hillary is trying to have a class about it you know and leave it to the surragates and us people to bring it up

  211. BTW, we did not comment earlier when the question was posed on why Hillary went on KO’s vile trap of a show.

We strongly believe that saying you are “tough” is useless. You prove you are tough by what you do. The Hillary campaign ad released to do about the “heat/kitchen” is a way of saying that Obama is not tough enough – as many Americans saw at the debate.

Talk is cheap, actions speak louder than words. That is what Hillary demonstrated by going on the KO vile show. Hillary is tough. Hillary is not afraid even of blowhards like KO.

Hillary does not need to say “bring it on”. When someone “brings it on” Hillary “Decks ’em”.

  212. they’ve got 3d computer generated life size images of hill and bo body slamming each other in the ring (ring and audience is real) LOL

obama was winning but then hill definately got him LOL

I wonder what they’re pre taped stuff will be like???

  213. Loved Hillary on Countdown. She blows me away with her intelligence. She IS the one we’ve been waiting for. She is the only one who can lead our country and get us out of the mess we have been in for the past 8 years. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure that out after hearing Hililary speak about ANY issue.

I, too, turned back to Fox as soon as her interview was over. Wouldn’t it be great if old KO’s rating tanked after her interview!

  214. Hillary was great on KO. To my surprise, he was restrained and questions were good and of course she nailed it on Scaife, sexism, Iran, the Ad, oh, everything. Like some Obama supporter posted after the PA debate, (“ABC gave her the questions in advance because she did not even stop to think to answer..” , idiots, they can’t even believe she is that good) may be KO gave her the questions… wink, wink..:)

  215. One CRUCIAL point, IMHO, was Ogreman’s final comment:

“we asked Obama or one of his surrogates to appear but was told their schedules made that impossible.”

    Second Wimp-out of the day.
First NC debate, now the Ogremann show.

  216. dijia,

I’m typing, reading and listening so maybe I missed that part but I thought I heard the psych say she thought he was unaware of the gesture’s significance and was tuned into it by the audience response?

Also, from what I pulled up yesterday, it seems you were right that there was one interview but different camera angles.

  217. What a performance by OUR NATIONAL TREASURE.Is there any doubt in anyone’s mind as to the one person, the first woman, has all the toughness, all the intelligence, all the experience, all the quickness and attributes necessary to preside over our great country in this very perilous time of need for a steady hand and good judgement. If you have doubts and you cannot decide or you are biased,TRY OBAMA and close you eyes. This is a serious time in our Histort not a game of Russian Roulette.

BY ABM90 A proud and avid supporter of Hillary Clinton

  218. admin:
Good point. I thought so, too.

‘Talk is cheap, actions speak louder than words. That is what Hillary demonstrated by going on the KO vile show. Hillary is tough. Hillary is not afraid even of blowhards like KO.’

but I DESPISE Ogremann and I hated seeing her give him one second of her time.
Still – it seems to have gone well for her, especially in light of the fact that Ozomba declined an invitation to appear pm the show. 👿

  219. and a sly snigger/grin followed the finger, plus he grinned at his audience with appreciation for their response…

what an example for the young people jumping on his bandwagon.

BTW, if you haven’t seen Sugar’s site in a while, go over and keep going down to around April 14-15. She was pulled over by some AA cop and given a hard time because of he Hillary sticker.

She ended up having to call 911 on him. It was on I-95.

I gave her some love. She could use more.

  220. Thanks to you, Emjay, I had a chance to follow what happened in that interview. You tipped us off to the blog on TM’s site.

  221. I still feel I am living in a parallel universe. How could anyonenot vote for this woman? She is so tough. The strongest Dem I have seen in my life. I cano not believe she is not getting more youth support, more men. Why do Dem’s like weaklings?

  222. emjay,
There is something so disconcerting about Ozomba’s expression. It’s like he’s perpetually high on weed and doing his best impression of a straight (sober) person or he just let loose the biggest fart and is hoping the stench will waft away before anyone notices he was the source.

He reminds me of my favorite of 5 brothers, who would always get a sh!t-eating grin on his face whenever he found himself in a situation he wasn’t quite prepared for, including that of an english teacher in an upstate middle school and how he found it so hard to maintain discipline and he’d have to use his stern adult voice and the kids would be shocked whenever he asserted himself but my brother could never keep the act going and one side of his mouth would twitch up and the kids would realize he was faking it and discipline would plummet from there and that’s when he realized he wasn;t cut out to be an authority figure.

Too bad Ozomba isn’t likely to come to that conclusion anytime soon.

  223. Daily Kooks…….are all over it tonight LOL

they loved kO questions saying he was better than ABC and that he should run the next debate LOL

they hated hill’s answers, said she was too long winded, hated her LOL, they didn’t know what ‘cognitive dissonance’
was and doubted that any of her “low” level supporters (un educated?) would either…..LOL that one was RICH!!
they must be LOW level BO supporters then since they didn’t know what that mean’t LOL!!!!!!!!!!

to all the kooks on kos……..I say……Bring it! let’s have KO take TiMMY boys place at the table!!
hill will still mop the floor with ya!

we all know Hill could answer them but am very doubtful that BO could 😀

  224. Admin Please post this. Thanks.
“I understand, basil.

I’m cool.”

I am an AA female who passionately wants Hillary to be 44. I have only known about this site for the past 2 months and come here quite often for Hill news. This is the best site I have found that is Pro Hillary and I like it. Right now, Hillary needs every vote she can get, including the AA vote. I was never for Obama and can’t stand the phoney piece of crap. That being said, reading some of these posts are sometimes not easy especially since we are all here for one common goal, to make Hill 44. Some of the things said here can be hurtful to some black people and using brillo can be insensitive. AA know about this term because some of us have heard this term used in very hurtful ways. I won’t go into it but hopefully, you will understand.

If AA voters were to come to this website just for info to help them make a decision between Hill and OB, I would hope they wouldn’t see some of the insensitive remarks that have been used here. I notice that some seem defiant when they are confronted about it. This is America and that is your right, but it is not necessary especially when Hill needs us all including AA to help her win this nomination. Just don’t count on too many AA coming here to join this community because they may think the wrong thing. I will continue to come here for hillary info, I will continue to blog and defend her, and donate money to her campaign as long as she will continue to fight. I, like you, will be there for her until DB sings. To those that spoke up (HillaryforTexas, Henry, and others), thanks, it goes a long way. I will continue to try to post here, but they never seem to show up.

  225. Did Hill actually add a bit about believing in “death-bed conversions” re Richard Mellon Sciafe’ endorsement ?

    Haw haw haw………..

  226. basil, i will watch the rerun of bill o later since i missed most of it

and will report back later after wards on “fickle finger” 😀

  227. Jade, please stick around. We’d like a new voice. Don’t leave. We have a lot of african american supporters. Ok, all, here someone is offended so don’t freak. Jade, how about Brazilla? Please stay.

  228. jade .. I apologize if I have been on of those insensitive to the AA’s who may be coming to this site.

  229. Emjay,
I was typing so fast – and things happen so FAST around here!
    It was PRICELESS!
Her response to why she would agree to be interviewed by sciafe’s paper after he excoriated her and Bill in the 1990’s was that she was curious. Then, when Keify-O pressed the issue she said she believes in redemption, it’s possible for anyone to change their views, no matter how late in life (hint-hint – to keify-o – why don’t ya have a beer and a shot of crown royal and put down that darn kool-aid) and that she even believes in DEATH-BED CONVERSIONS!

  230. Jade-

You are awesome. Thank you for your important comments. I wish they could be posted at the start of each thread.

    Thank you.

  231. Really, Jade, we’d like to hear from you. Anyone out there lurking, come on in. This is an exciting night. 🙂

  232. Ronald, that’s fine by me, I meant for people who call everyone by these nick names. I always call Donna, Donna.

  233. Guys, let’s just agree not to call Donna Brillo anymore. If someone says something hurts them, just take them at their word. I personally think it’s a play on her last name, but if I were AA, I see how it could hurt.

  234. Well Jade,
I’m so sorry you felt offended. I don’t know the history of the brillo analogy nor do I know it’s effect on the AA community. Personally, I thought it was quite funny, but if you read the rest of the discussion regarding that term you would have seen that a consensus was arrived at that for the purposes of this forum the name would be changed to brazilo or bradzila. I conceded that point to henry.

Having said that, I have issues with suppression of freedom of speech. There have been so many trite terms tergeted as racist recently, from monkey to fairytale, to nicknames for public figures, that perhaps I’m especially sensitive to that.
I assure you there is no racism on this forum. So please chime in.

  235. Jade, hope I didn’t offend. I was trying to think of something not insensitive for people when they get upset at the bias which they do with all the pundits. I agreed totally on that “brillo” thing and have never called her that.

  236. she was great on WWE!!

I only caught the tail end of her talking but she was good 😀

I wonder if they’re will be a youtube of it?? or a transcript?

  237. OK basil

enough mea culpas…Get onto hill’s appearance on Larry King.

    Inquiring minds need to know….

  238. justmeinmountdorafl

they won’t show her rallies, if they did it would be all about policy and that would make BO look bad LOL

  239. Yeah, I’m tuned in (or out) now.

That’s why I could never be a good pope. Mea culpas not my specialty.

  240. Thanks, jade. Sometimes people, depending on where and how and in what environment they grew up, honestly have no idea that it could be hurtful. And because of Obama’s ridiculous claims, they bristle when told it could be, thinking it another false accusation of racism.

Sometimes it takes someone other than an Obamabot to point out that no, in this case it IS stereotypical and damaging. It doesn’t mean they did it on purpose, but it is what it is.

I hope we don’t let a (understandable and natural) reaction to the false cries of racism from Obama push us into thinking we have no responsibility to be welcoming and respectful, and be aware of what words we choose. That would be sad.

Not because we owe it to Obama, but because we owe it to people like you. The fact that Obama has misused the race card does not mean “anything goes” when it comes to race-weighted comments.

  241. Obama avoids media in final days of PA
    Posted: 04:44 PM ET
BLUE BELL, Pennsylvania (CNN) – It’s now been ten days since Democrat Barack Obama has made himself available for questions from his traveling press corps, and it appears as though that number could rise even higher.

Aides have said it’s unlikely he’ll hold an availability with reporters before Tuesday’s Pennsylvania primary, but that they “could always add one.” Given their track record over the past few days, however, that doesn’t sound promising.

Since the start of the weekend, the possibility of a press conference has been dangled in front of reporters twice—only to be snatched away at the last possible moment.

On Saturday, reporters were teased for the majority of the day with a possible evening avail, only to be told at the eleventh hour that it would not be happening. To make it up, staffers said they were aiming to put him in front of cameras on Sunday but that, too, did not happen.

And at a diner Thursday morning, a reporter slipped in a question about former President Jimmy Carter’s meeting with Hamas, but Obama responded by saying he just wanted to eat his waffle.

Traveling press secretary Jen Psaki declined to comment on exactly why no time has been allotted for traveling press questions since a press conference in Indianapolis April 11. Obama did, however, make time Thursday for a few one on one interviews.

  242. Thanks Jade for reminding everyone that the purpose here is to help Hillary win.

At a minimum, language that, hurts the election of Hillary is not good – counterproductive. If saying “yatz” would help Hillary, the only thing we would type would be “yatz”. If never saying “the” would help Hillary we would eliminate “the” from our vocabulary.

“Venting” can be understood when under pressure. Frustration with all that we have to put up with, the incense burners in and out of Big Media, is likewise understandable.

Let’s be kind to each other, work, and measure our words in order to help Hillary.

Now let’s enjoy Hillary on Larry King and continue donating and getting ready for tomorrow.

  243. Cspan net schedule showing 10:30 EDT(with the usual caveat of maybe earlier, maybe later) BC and Hill and Chelsea appearance at rally on cspan 2…those are usually live stream.

Warning…BO’s appearance is supposed to be at 9:30. Don’t venture into kool aid land in the dark, especially if you’re alone.

  244. Hillary just shot the change bullshit through the roof! She say’s you can’t just show up in Washington and ask for change .. Isn’t that what Bush ran on as well? Unite and change and counting down the days saying hold on, hope is on the way or some other kind of stuff?

  245. Emjay, from 9:14 – 9:20.
The interview is going well. Here’s what I’ve caught.
    Larry King,

Election should be toe to toe on national security, universal health care, and she’s the better candidate.
    Are you and McCain friends?
Yes we are. I deeply respect him When I’m president I’m gonna invite him to the WH frequently and we’ll take trips together. (hehehehe)
Are you saying if your president you would work with McCain.
I’m gonna reach out to republicans.
Maybe a Repub or two in the cabinet?
We need to look into that and restore bi-partisanship to the WH.
Ozomba clip about HRC’s point about experience.
Can you change a system you’ve been a part of for 20 years?
She represents change – as a woman running for the WH she’s a change agent.
She goes into her health care policies. She has a unique perspective having served in the WH and in the Senate.
She has a proven record of getting bi=partisan policy through the senate.

OK, emjay – I’m wiped. Someone else will have to carry on

  246. Thanks Admin

    Emjay, thanks!

We are all in this together and we will all leave this together as winners for Hillary

  247. basil, no one wants you to leave, and no one is mad at you. Deep breaths. And I was speaking generally, for future reference, NOT just about your words.

  248. Larry seems to want to be a bit begruding tonight. I am glad that Hillary is getting in the digs about Florida and Michigan.

  249. asked her about getting out of the race if she looses PA, asked if she would take it all the way to convention

she said she is in it till fl and mi count and all the people have had their say

  250. Basil, don’t leave! We all know how frustrating it is with BO playing the race card at every turn. Please don’t leave.

  251. I can’t imagine Obama will say the same thing, should Hillary be the nominee I will fight to ensure she gets the nominee

  252. basil .. don’t you dare even think of leaving. Your work alone on the superdelegate list has been extraordinary and your commitment to helping Hillary be 44 is not in question.

We need to chill .. everyone, please.

Hillary is knocking it out of the part on LKL. She just told the sd’s that she will work for the nominee regardless.

Notice that Obama is not giving ANY interviews LOL.

He is quaking in his shoes tonight. He may even have a blankie.

  253. It’s not personal, H4Texas, it’s just a different perspective.

i don’t believe in coddling anyone, about anything, once they’re adults.

I’m not gonna tip-toe around hoping i don’t step on the cracks.

That simply doesn’t work for me. Anyone can get insulted about anything and if the power to impose that on others is offered well, we all know about power corrupting. I find it to be blackmail and i refuse to deal with that. This issue was discussed ad nauseum about 3 hours ago and for it sudden;y to become a hot topic here seems awfully suspect to me. But of course I’m insensitve anyway so what the heck do i know?
I’ve contributed my $750+. I’ve sent letters. I’ve signed petitions. I’ll continue doing so but I don’t like feeling as if I’m being censored. That IS personal.

  254. OK. Now I feel terrible. I love the posters here but it does seem I was just singled out and Bytch-slapped in public.

Admin isn’t happy and I’m being chastised. Can’t deal with that. But it’s his/hers/your site and I respect the rules. i just don’t wanna play this game.

    Masochism is not my thing.

  255. Hahahaha.

that was my brother. I COULD and DID hide my discomfort with authority, mainly coz it was a matter of survival, either mine or the ravenous kids.

And it wasn’t gonna be me!

  256. WWE : BO

“i just have one question……do you smell what barack is cookin?”

    WTF does that mean????????

  257. well, I feel like a burglar.

Just lifted another gem from a blogger at TM.

    Made me spit bourbon.
So Obama said no to the Obama worshipper KO. That had to hurt. Obama also said no to the next debate. Well, that should hurt.

So, in honor of Obama I declare tomorrow night to be chicken night. Have your chicken anyway you’d like. Please no arugula, goat cheese, or imported beer.

Just remember to eat some chocolate too!

  258. basil .. actually I was the first one to come up with the pet name for Brazille. However, we have been using that pet name for months now and someone should have spoken sooner if it was inappropriate.

We are in this together and if we’re doing something that might hurt Hillary .. we should all get together an fix it

  259. Too All:

It takes me a long time to respond because I try to read every post here. However, I’m not mad at anyone and I am very understanding. So lets get our girl in the White House.

Hillary is my girl and I have taken alot of crap for supporting her. I DON’T CARE!!!! I truly believe in her and hate how she has been treated through all of this. This is why I fight for her; because I believe she will fight for me. Obama has had all the advantages, media, deep pockets, big time stars, and Hill has to fight for everything she has. Philly is my home town and I believe she will do a little better with black voters there than anywhere else. No inside info, just a gut feeling. Anyhow, gotta go but I will be back. FIGHT ON!!!!!

  260. Dot 48 said…”He (BO) is quaking in his shoes tonight. He may even have a blankie” LOL! With that image in mind…

AND THIS IS THE MAN MANY WANT TO BE THE NEXT LEADER AND PRESIDENT!! A man who is hiding because he might slip up and say what he really thinks.

  261. djia

(from down south of you, but not over the MO state line)

Turndown of LKL deserves another (strangled) Bwakk, bwaaakk…..

  262. Jade

I also read everything, and w/ the increased # of hillfans here, my eyes are sunken in my skull, I haven’t cleaned in a month, and my pile of clothes is like an archeological dig…if they don’t topple soon, I’ll be able to tell you what I wore to the county convention by just peeling off the layers.

  263. Southern Born:

they have him under lock and key……everytime he speaks he puts his stinky feet in his mouth …

today it was ” can i just eat my waffle” LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  264. I have enjoyed this evening with Hillary plus all of you. Tomorrow evening could top it with a very good showing by Hillary. However, the final results may need the absentee ballots. I expect that to be good too.

While listening to some of the comments on TV tonight, it occurred to me that

  265. ABC News’ Eloise Harper reports:

Former President Bill Clinton, speaking to reporters after his wife’s event in Pittsburgh, PA Monday, said that under the republican primary system –- his wife would be ahead by hundreds of delegates.

“I did not actually get the delegates necessary to have a first power of the nomination under the crazy system the democrats have,” Clinton said. “If we were under the republican system which is more like the electoral college, she would have a 300 delegate lead …It’s an eternity ’til the general election, an eternity.”

ABC News’ Political Unit did some quick math and added up all the pledged delegate counts for the winner-take-all Democratic contest. As of the most recent count on the eve of the Pennsylvania state primary, Senator Hillary Clinton has won 15 state contests and was awarded 1430 delegates, not including unpledged (a.k.a. “superdelegates”). Barack Obama has won 29, and has 1257 delegates.

According to ABC’s math — Clinton would hold more like a 173 delegate-lead if her and Obama were competing in the Republican primary system given the GOP system doesn’t have superdelegates. President Clinton was correct, but overestimated what his wife’s lead would be by about half.

  266. Obama is on C-Span live from Pittsburgh, lots of younger people (high school ages or college ages) but a large turnout, I thought Hillary was supposed to be on at this time? Where is she?

  267. dija, maybe BO needs a binky stuffed in his mouth to go along with Dot’s blankie!

Your sure as heck can’t develop foot in mouth disease if you’re sucking on a great big “fooler” as they called them way back when…very approiate/

  268. Ok just checked…cspan definately streaming rallies live…BO already 40 minutes late.

If I didn’t think he was so down low, I’d swear he was trying to screw Clinton family out of their prime late night time slot…unless cspan does the right thing and goes to Clinton when she arrives if BO is still a no-show.

  269. OMG Hllary and bill impersonators on WWE climbing in the ring

lots of HILLARY signs in the audience cheering her and bill on!!

hill says , this election means many things to many people, it takes someone with experience to make change happen

bill is trying to get attention, hillary shoos him out of the ring

when it comes to change, what you gonna do , what you gonna do when hillary and the superdelegates are coming down on you!

    now obama coming out…….
A tall thin black man with HUGE ears…….LOVE IT

Shaking hands as he comes towards the ring

Hill and bill watching, bill is laughing and chatting in hills ear

He looks more like will smith LOL

Hill looks angry, barack pauses climbing over the rails and puts his nose in the air

Barak has come back to Sc……..crowd booos him big time

Now you two , you think you can change Washington , is that what you think?

Bill says to hillary: I’lI handle this one,

Bill to BO: I’ll tell you what I think ……jesse Jackson …..

Bo, it doesn’t matter what you think

Bo, what’s that smell bo is cookin?

Both are back up to the their corners, bill climbs out of the ring

Commentator , look at those ears… can hide a lot of weapons in those ears LOL

Hillary takes him down and body slams him good

Nails him in the nads and body slams him again
She has him pinned ……he gets up he nees her in the gut
Picks her up and slam on the mat and kicks her while she’s down
And a full fledge body slam but hurt himself bad, he cant get up ……..crowd booing him big time

Their goes the bell and bo is still on the mat ……whimping

Big Samoan wrestler smogga, comes into the ring and defends hillary and body slams bo

Bill trying to introduce hill and smogga throws bill out of the ring

Then grabs hill and puts her around his shoulders and body slams her

Both bo and hill are knocked out left napping on the mat

    Smogga leaves the ring

  270. wowowowowowow what a great crowd!

    Mayor Nutter
    Governor Rendell
    President William Clinton
and soon to be Hillary Clinton

WOW this is great, “This has been far the best President of my lifetime” (hint reminding Penns how great it was with Bill during his presdency for Penn!)

  271. Moon,
“I think its to mobilize his base into thinking he can win to make sure they vote so to limit damage, thats what i think.”

You nailed this one, IMO. One the other side, he had to predict a loss, because he knows he will. And so he was trying to stradle the two.
I seriously doubt, in listening to Hill & Bill, that there is any doubt who’ll emerge victorious. I think it’ll be sizeable, but then a 1-vote win is all I’d deem NECESSARY.

Hannity & Morris agreeing BO the weaker candidate. Good.

  272. The energy at the rally is great. Rendell is super..glad he is on our side!

I love it…”What part of the Clinton administration in the 90’s did you not like…the peace or the prosperity?”

  273. wow this is really great! compared with the rally for Obama…. this is really a diverse crowd!

  274. now THIS is a politician! He doesn’t need any teleprompters to get his message out and this is from the heart.

  275. I agree! this is a great crowd! Look! young, old, in between, men, women, gay, straight, single, couples, families, and so on

  276. This rally is wonderful. what a great crowd. Rendell and Nutter have been very special allies. Tubbs, is another strong and powerful woman. I respect all these people so very much for supporting Hillary.

  277. His face is too red. That’s not good. I’m worried. He also was too somber, too stiff whenNutter and Rendell would have normally had him laughing.

I am so pleased cspan did the right thing putting them on now, LIVE.

  278. Is it the lighting or does Bill Clinton have a cut or scar on the right side of his head near his hair?

He is SO good…forget BO…Bill can speak and inspire and do it without a written for him speech and a teleprompter!

  279. Emjay Says:

    April 21st, 2008 at 10:17 pm
I hate to sat this…Bill is not looking well tonight.
Bill needs to rest for a day or two…he’s too red

  280. Hey All, I just made a contribution of…$200.44! This is my first financial contribution so far (I’ve contributed in terms of volunteer hours before.)

So my challenge to anyone who has been holding out is to DO IT. It feels great:) This is the time to act. If you’re like me and you have bills to pay, eh. They will send another one later.

But if you believe in HRC, if you believe in this campaign, if you want to kick BO’s ass. DO IT.

  281. Dot: Bill has talked about this everytime that I have seen him speaking in a rally. He always touts her as a change agent, and gives her accolades for her accomplishments.

  282. thank you wagner1jc!

    thank you! thank you!

emjay, I am all teary-eyed (hard for me to cry) but I feel you! I also want to thank you all for being my hill-friends! Because of you, I feel not so lonely!

I love it that he says Florida and Michigan HAS to be counted!

  283. WOW he really is fired up!!!!

    I love him!

did you see the guy with the boxing gloves! just great!

    He’s a great insipirational speaker

  284. This is our country…YOU BET! We can make it better with Hillary. I’ve got the Chris Matthews “tingles” just watching the rally!

  285. its nice that the congresswomen from houston, sheila lee jackson is there in PA, she didnt have to but she believes in her

  286. Dot

    so true…not paid for
Great that sheila Jackson Lee is there, and spotlighted!

  287. I love what she said, “This is not about me, but about what we can do for our country!”

  288. Sheila Jackson Lee deserves a medal of honor, we all know why. What guts, what determination…how Hillary of her.

  289. you guys, promise me you’ll be here tomorrow night so we can all support each other and cheer on one another as we find out HILLARY WINS PA BY LARGE! (even pray for an early projection from CNN – prob would even get an heart attack from that)

  290. one idea Hillary should explore is setting up a live-stream video and have it shown on her website for all of the rallys she does

  291. thanks americangal – 🙂

let’s all suggest to Hillary’s website to have live-streaming video of all rallys she goes to so we can watch it on the internet, I think this will show the people that people are not giving up and why she should be our next President!

  292. third time trying to post this.

as if leggomyeggo gate wasn’t enough, barack is playing miss manners and telling a grow woman to behave herself. yuck.

Later that afternoon while taping an interview for “The Daily Show,” a reporter tried to ask Obama about a new Clinton ad and the Obama ad that came as a response. The White House hopeful asked the reporter if she was “supposed to be” asking a question at that time and added that he might answer but that “it depends on how well behaved you are.” In the end, he did not take the question.

  293. Green Corps is a GREAT idea! She needs to push this. Like the Peace Corps, for working on energy.

    American Federation of Teachers

  295. ok wiki says this gym holds 10,000 during a basketball game

but they have a full floor and people standing in open areas……so??

  296. Halperin on CNN said SD’s will looking at BO’s numbers among whites, older voters, non-college grads (after the margins) as a telltale sign.

The president is fine, Emjay. He’s tired and puffy-eyed and a bit sunburned but strong and awesome as ever.

  297. I thought you all said BO was supposed to be on first, is he having trouble getting to an event or what. He doesn’t have time to eat his waffles, or answer questions, so what’s the problem tonight? He is a joke!!!

  298. blue democrat, probably to see if the same base continues to vote for Hillary as they have been over the past year

  299. she does believe with her heart..she so so darn good..she tells it like it is..we are in bad shape..
OUR COUNTRY,she will fox it..i think bill had a lil sore throat today..

  300. CNN can’t give allow Carville & Begala as regular political analysts
but has no problem hiring Tony Snow.

Slip him in while no one’s paying attention, this way he’s there for the general to sufficiently pollute the dialogue.

  301. I do wish people would thank for waiting because its 11:12 there when it was supposed to be 8 to 10 and say I truly appreciate you being here and waiting for me that sort of thing

  302. Bill is a bit concerned, perhaps. He is chewing his fingernails. He’s said it is easier for him to be the candidate. He’s given it all he can.

  303. If Hillary isn’t getting local coverage, here’s how to give her some right now. Comment in a local Penn paper. Short list at
    h t t p : / /

Talk about her big turnout support at the debate site, whatever’s been happening for her.

  304. Tubbs and Sheila Lee Jackson were awesome, Chelsea is dancing, so cute! Bill said great speech, and Hillary said, you think so?

  305. look at at her smile man a rough 15 months can ya say strong lord..your right birdgal its the people she cares about ..any color anyone..

  306. I can’t find the reference, I thnk it was at a TM comment page but without telling what paper it came from. Anyway some reporter had gone to a couple of places in PA trying to get comments on something from H and O supporters. One place was something like Little League, parents there with their children. The other was something like a bar or bowling alley. The Hillary people mostly hadn’t heard about the ‘bitter/cling’ thing but had other strong reasons for disliking Obama. The reporter couldn’t find any Obama supporters at all!

  307. Tom ryan is an uncommitted SD running for mayor of scranton. he is running a poll for HRC and BO on his website. She is getting crushed b/c BO is advertising it on his website.

  308. Uncommitted Superdelegate

Tom Ryan is an uncommitted superdelegate running for Mayor of Scranton. He is running a poll for Hillary or Obama at his website. She is getting crushed because Obama is advertising it at his website. Please vote!

    just h t t p

  309. Geez, my local NBC affilliate, during the 10 pm news, is doing a big segment on Obama. I’ve noticed that the station has many political “package” kind of reports…always about Obama..NBC is even biased in what it sends to it’s affiliates across the US.

  310. Just me

It was BO who was late- He was to be on 9:30 to 10:30 EDT and was late.

See me at 10:08 and 10:09.

Like I said, cspan did the right thing and put her campaign first, cause they were cooking and BO was not.

  311. hillary on WWE

Sen Clinton and her rivals in the race for the White House are getting ready to rumble in Pennsylvania, but tonight they’ll square off on WWE Raw – if only in dueling video messages. Read all of the transcript of Hillary’s after the jump.

“Hi, I’m Hillary Clinton. But tonight, in honor of the WWE, you can call me Hill-Rod.

This election is starting to feel a lot like “King of the Ring.” The only difference? The last man standing may just be a woman.

The truth is, this election is so important. The next president will face a stack full of difficult challenges right from the opening bell. to fix the economy, bring our troops home from Iraq, and make college more affordable. You need a president who will go to the mat for you. And that’s exactly what I’ll do.

I’ve been knocked down, but I’ve always gotten back up. And I know how to take a hit for the American people. And if things get a little tough, I may even have to deliver the “people’s elbow.”

Because this country is worth fighting for.

Now, I promise to stick to the political arena. So don’t worry Randy Orton you’re safe… for now.

When it comes to standing up for the American people though, I am ready to rumble.”

  312. You guys see this one?

    From CNN:
Later that afternoon while taping an interview for “The Daily Show,” a reporter tried to ask Obama about a new Clinton ad and the Obama ad that came as a response. The White House hopeful asked the reporter if she was “supposed to be” asking a question at that time and added that he might answer but that “it depends on how well behaved you are.”
In the end, he did not take the question.

10 days since the gutless wonder answered questions from the press.
And he’s complained non-stop about the few appropriate ones he got in the debate.

    Accountability as an issue?

  313. going to go watch a movie now hubby rented lions for lambs , i ‘ve been wanting to see it for a long time now

it was a fabulous day and night…….tomorrow will be so much fun!!!

see you all bright and early 😀

  314. May I share my President Clinton story? Ok. I worked for the party a few years ago and I got the honor of having my picture taken with the President when he appeared at a big fundraiser. I was a nervous wreck as anyone would be while waiting in line. What would I say when I got up there? I told him that when he was president I prayed for him every night, which was true. Instead of just moving the line along, when I started to walk away, he said “Hey, what’s your name?” I said Jim. BC said “Thank you, Jim. No, really, thank you.” He has such kindness. When I got my photo a few weeks later, I couldn’t even show it to my friends. I looked like such a star-struck dork, googley eyed with my mouth wide open. I have it safely tucked away, it never sees the light of day. BTW, his eyes are so blue and his hair so white in person. White as snow, not gray.

  315. Ann, the guy suckered in a lot of people, but it is definitely a bogus site. There is no Tom Ryan superdelegate.

  316. Watching the BO rally……Theresa Heinz Kerry….as a speaker introducing Michelle Obama….Gee Whiz….ZZZZZZZ

  317. The White House hopeful asked the reporter if she was “supposed to be” asking a question at that time and added that he might answer but that “it depends on how well behaved you are.”

I would have come back with a zinger of a question….maybe a rezko one. Actually though, what arrogance, is that the way he treats all reporters or just the female ones.

  318. Barack Obama taped an interview on The Daily Show on Monday.

At one point, Jon Stewart said to Obama, “The Rev. Wright controversy, the flag pin controversy… Will you pull a bait-and-switch, sir, and enslave the white race. Is that your plan?”

Obama responded, laughing, “That is not our plan, Jon, but I think your paranoia might make you suitable as a debate moderator.”

  319. Ok, was the audeince at her Philly event diverse? Were there any latinos, african americans?
The thing is if even the locals are not covering this, wth? Why is CNN showing BO’s event and not Hill’s?

  320. MO is about as exciting an introducer as ….can’t think of anything ZZZZZZZZ

It is always about she and Barack. They are indeed arrogant!

  321. americangal: i noticed the same thing. i thought the energy would be high at bo’s rally. i think, there were more stars at hillary’s rally ie rendell, nutter, bill, chelsea, hillary, tubbs, jones.

  322. Southern,

Theresa Heinz Kerry & Rev Wright can talk about Obama all day
    as far as I’m concerned!

  323. Came back to PA tonight. Will be at polling sites tomorrow starting at 6:30. Everyone who can – please call tomorrow. We can DO THIS.

  324. birdgal, more stars but more importantly, more heartfelt emotion not personality cult.

CSPAN Obama rally is interesting…all signs are about him and have his slogan. Hillary’s had signs from many organizations and unions….

  325. mj: hillary’s event was at the u of penn. very diverse crowd-young people, old people, aa’s, other ethnic groups, asians, teachers, veterans, etc.

  326. Hillbilly, I agree…either the people on stage are really tired or they are defeated. The crowd is wound up but those on stage…Casey, Heinz Kerry, MO do not have the energy of the Hillary rally going.

  327. Am in Bucks county – in Bristol to be exact (suburb of philly). Here last weekend and support is very, very strong here. Will try and send in some comments throughout the day tomorrow although I don’t know how much laptop time I will have.

  328. Yes, let’s all pray and focus on positive thoughts that Hillary will win in double digits tomorrow. Starring at her on cover of “Living History” right now. Yes, Philadelphia – where our country was born – can not only choose the Democratic Nominee, but the next President of the United States. Dear God, please lift up the people of Pennsylvania – and give them the wisdom to do the will of the people for our entire nation in voting for Hillary Rodham Clinton tomorrow. Victory day…..

  329. I’m just to thrilled to hear BO go on and on about who he liked in football. Thank goodness he is not talking about issues!!

  330. HillBillyLover Says:

    April 21st, 2008 at 11:46 pm
Wow, he just said he was P-Whipped, and so is Bob Casey. Hilarious!

  331. Well, not exactly those words, but that Casey’s wife and his wife both tell their husbands what to do. And that they happily oblige or something like that.

He got to milk a cow and “pull the thing that makes it go “toot!”

Farmers are going to love that line!

  332. Without his little teleprompter and pre written speech…unless ol BO gets wound up…he is really far. As always he tell all the problems…on and on and on and does not give solutions. Not the energy in the crowd as at Hillary’s rally.

  333. new poll-

    New InsiderAdvantage Poll
Clinton 49%, Obama 39% In Latest InsiderAdvantage Pennsylvania Survey

Compiled from InsiderAdvantage and Southern Political Report staff

April 21, 2008 — Sen. Hillary Clinton has a significant lead over Sen. Barack Obama with just a day to go until the Democratic Pennsylvania presidential primary, with an unusually high number of voters still undecided.

Here are the results of Sunday night’s poll:

    Hillary Clinton 49%
    Barack Obama 39%
    Undecided 12%

The poll was conducted April 20 among 747 likely voters in the Pennsylvania Democratic primary. The survey has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4%. All data have been weighted for age, race and gender.

InsiderAdvantage’s Matt Towery: “What’s most interesting about this poll is that about of 12% likely voters remain undecided.

“I attribute this to the barrage of negative TV commercials and attack statements coming from both campaigns.
“Over the past decades I’ve observed a consistent pattern: When a campaign becomes a blow-for-blow blood-fest played out in news media, that usually drives up the number of undecided voters. We’ll see with Monday night’s survey if the undecideds will break one way or the other,” he said.

  334. I I I I I…that’s all you need to hear from BO at his rallies…it really is shocking how his speeches are all about him..

He’s falling back on his standard….I’M running for president because of the fierce urgency of now…we can n ot afford to wait…I’m the one you have been waiting for.

Change…hope….OH PLEASE….why doesn’t he just go grope a hope and get it over with!

  335. I glad some of you noticed the s service tonight in Philly. I thought they seemed on edge! Hillary looked totaled at ease though! she was great, she had em’ eatin’ outa her hand! LOL!

  336. N.C. Debate Officially Canceled

    By Brian Stelter

Will Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton debate again? Maybe — but not on April 27.

The North Carolina Democratic Party said Monday that the forum in that state, scheduled for next Sunday night, had been canceled. Mr. Obama had not committed to the date. The cancellation comes as a disappointment for CBS, which had offered the candidates prime air time after the newsmagazine “60 Minutes” for the debate. Katie Couric, the anchor of the “CBS Evening News,” would have moderated the debate.

The cancellation was because of political considerations by both candidates, said Paul Friedman, a senior vice president at CBS News.

Mr. Obama showed interest in an April 19 debate in North Carolina, which would have presented viewers with a second debate before the Pennsylvania primary. Mrs. Clinton’s campaign expressed concern that April 19 was the first day of Passover, and the organizers went back to the drawing board to propose alternative dates. Mrs. Clinton’s campaign subsequently agreed to the April 27 date, but Mr. Obama’s did not.

Ms. Couric remains the only nightly news anchor that has not hosted a presidential candidate debate in this election cycle. As Bill Carter reported in March, CBS executives had hoped a debate would give Ms. Couric some positive exposure. CBS’s previous effort to stage a Democratic debate last December was scrubbed because of the threat of a strike by the Writers Guild of America.

“It’s a shame,” Mr. Friedman said, “because the debates have been interesting and appealing to the audience, and because I think Katie would have done a really good job.”

Asked whether 21 Democratic debates over the past year were enough, Mr. Friedman asked: “Was 20 enough? Apparently not, because the ratings for the 21st were enormous.”

Mrs. Clinton’s campaign issued a statement saying: “It is unfortunate that Senator Obama has chosen to brush off the people of North Carolina by flatly refusing to debate. But we are willing to move forward with another time and location for the debate so that he has no excuse for not participating.”

An Obama campaign spokesman, Bill Burton, replied: “It’s unfortunate that the Clinton campaign decided to play politics with this — especially considering that Senator Obama agreed to a North Carolina debate long before Senator Clinton did, and their campaign took three weeks to consider and ultimately reject that proposal.”

Mr. Friedman said a future debate was a possibility but called it uncertain. In a statement, CBS News said it would “continue to look for opportunities to present another debate, should it occur, between now and November.”

Although the North Carolina debate is off, yet another forum may be in the offing. CNN and PBS have offered to sponsor a debate in Indiana ahead of that state’s May 6 primary. Mrs. Clinton’s campaign has accepted the invitation; Mr. Obama’s campaign has not.

  337. This is the first time I’ve heard Obama volunteer that they will work for the party to be unified to beat John McCain no matter what the outcome is of the nomination.

  338. those undecided are probably tired of answering their phones. I wouldn’t worry, she is going to win big, the crowd was huge and loud and was very excited!!

  339. I wonder how many of those at his speech are really from Pittsburg. Doesn’t he like to ship people in to make the crowd appear bigger!

  340. WOW just got back from the Philly rally with Hillary, Bill, Chelsea, Nutter, Rendell, Tubb-Jones, Sestack, and Schwartz. It was HUGE the crowd was so FIRED up. Everyone rocked it (Tubb-Jones should be our 45th president). It was at U Penn’s small Palestra probably holds 5,000 and the back part was closed off so maybe 4,000 people were there with I am sure with many turned away. I also got the best poster of Hillary I’ve seen all campaign that a man printed and they were handing out only a couple. Its a beautiful artistic poster I would love to show you all how do I send pictures to admin?

GO HIL tomorrow I vote for the first time in my life.

  341. Rambling BO! Can that guy ramble! Earlier he whined about the mean old debates and started hitting Hillary.

“…If you get enough kitchen sink thrown at you”…poor poor poor little BO. He’s been so mistreated and he is so innocent.

Did you know that St Obama does not take money from lobbyist and he is not beholden to anyone….except Rezko, Rev Wright…Chicago Pols…Emil Jones….and on and on.

  342. AS for diversity it was predominately white although there were some blacks. AFT, IUPAT, ASCME(?) where all there with their signs. All the local news camera’s were there and more so I am sure it will be covered.

  343. OH GEE can you imagine a BO State of the Union speech…oops…never mind…someone would have written it for him and he’d have multi teleprompters.

  344. NO ONE who spoke tonight mentioned Obama, said the word opponent, mentioned attack ads, or even “he” – and they say “The Clinton’s Attack Obama” give me a break.

  345. that what i was thinking it was a late speech,i think they were waiting for the buses to bus them in.haha
i thought of it to would not put a past him…and pitts someone will notice if buses out there from out of state..

  346. i saw hill on larry king-damn she is good. loved her reponse on being elecatble-she sais i will be elected, bambi can be. king told her people think she is neg and she slammed that one. went over some of his smears in ohio etc.. she laid it out. looks confident as heck as always.

  347. OAndrewD, I watched it on CSpan! Chelsea was dancing to Rocky at the ened!

It looked like a GREAT rally. GO HILLARY, and congrats on your “virgin” vote. 🙂

  348. But see, that’s a problem. She always gets better local coverage but apparently not in PA. Here, Andrew is saying there was no mention of Obama, and the local news reports they “attaced” him. Whereas, BO’s entire speech weems to have been an attack on Clinton but likely will not get reported that way. It’s a problem.

  349. I’m sorry to finally break down and comment on this. I went through most of the thread keeping quiet.

The fact that Obama has misused the race card does not mean “anything goes” when it comes to race-weighted comments.

How the hell are we supposed to KNOW what someone ELSE may consider ‘race-weighted’ terms?

Who ever HEARD of ‘cocaine’ being race-weighted? Or ‘fairy-tale’? Or ‘monkey’? Or Brillo? Or a basketball reference?

I don’t use many nicknames myself because they get stale to me. But I thought such a hairstyle was a CHOICE not something in-born. If anything, Brazile’s hair-do looks like it would be MORE difficult with African hair, EASIER with Caucasion hair.

Is there a website where we could enter our drafts before posting and have them automatically translated to Politically Correct, please?

  350. “The work I did as a civil right attorney to bring justice”…WTF…he made one appearance in court on a real estate suit. Give me an f’n break, that is why I am watching this for lovely little turd nuggets like this one!

  351. i cant watch hillbilly he makes me sick and all I think IS LIAR!!!,and this i read on blog this afternoon
I really doubt if the money BO is having comes from American people. I think it comes from the Iranian government in disguise, and that is why he wants to talk to Iranian government.
you know i never thought of that way..
IMHO..i dont believe they give out of those deep pockets to someone hwo cant close the deal..

BLUE BELL, Pennsylvania (CNN) – It’s now been ten days since Democrat Barack Obama has made himself available for questions from his traveling press corps, and it appears as though that number could rise even higher.

Aides have said it’s unlikely he’ll hold an availability with reporters before Tuesday’s Pennsylvania primary,

Ah, there we go. I thought maybe it had been longer. When has Obama allowed the press to ask him about Ayers etc? Maybe they had to use the debate to ask the questions that should be asked in press conferences.

  353. When I think about how much African American support the Clinton’s had and how much they did for the community (lowest poverty rate of blacks and Latinos under Bill) I get upset. Philadelphia was Clinton country like you would not believe. The labeling of the Clintons as Racist is without question one of the dirtiest political moves in a long time.

  354. Yeah, it’s disappointing. I thought maybe she would get more AA support in Philly with Nutter and Street supporting her, but if not many showed up at the rally in a city that has a large african american pop I guess not.

  355. First words out of Tony Snow’s mouth on CNN are a fucking lie,
saying Hillary never worked with republicans in Senate.

She worked with the fucking impeachment managers,
you lying douche bag piece of dirt!

Good, Dee Dee straightened him out.
“I dont’ know what performance in the Senate you were watching.”

    Good girl, Dee Dee…

  356. WTH is Snow talking about? Lindsay Graham, Bill Frist, John McCain, Tom Delay, Newt Gingrich…the list goes on.

  357. if tony snow and donna brazile ever get put on the same panel im not sure who id hate more LMAO!! 🙂

  358. Jade, wlecome. Sorry some of us didn’t speak up sooner.

Admin, I agree with you about talking vs. doing. Thanks for setting a good example for all of us in that regard. I’ll try to watch my language a bit more- Aw who am I kidding? 🙂

MJ, I have settled on “Brazilla,” the size thing made the difference. (Not really. It was tails.)

Hey, guys. Watch the Tracy Ullman on Showtime. I caught her new show the other night and she seriously poked fun at Arianna Hufflepuff and Laurie David. It was awesome.

Anyhow, goodnight. Have much to do tomorrow.

  359. So is CNN turning into Repub agenda now?yep we need a dem channell with a dem agenda..the HC realcommuncations ..bye bye to cnn..i will quit never watch..there going to try to take over those repubs
so they all can support mcsame.

Used to date a ss agent…it’s their job to be on edge…they are like tightly wound springs every bloody second they are on duty, and for a hour before and an hour after as well.

And we all should thank god for all of them. Each would truly die for any of their charges.

Good point, we should remember that. His latte koolaid and other sincere supporters may be with him forever, but those big money sources who consider him an investment at some time will decide he’s a waste of money. And they are likely to give him notice sooner than the SDs speak, as it isn’t costing the SDs anything to wait.

On a smaller scale, wasn’t that what the ‘bitter/cling’ thing was about? Someone at the millionaire fund-raiser asking why Obama wasn’t doing better in PA, and him trying to explain why?

  363. Oh, you mean bad language is frowned upon? Oops….
Shoot, if thems the rules they’re gonna hang me!

    Larry King; “She’s also tenacious.”
    Fiercely so, yes Larry.

This girl, Kathleen, has represented Hillary well on-air.
She’s making sure to get in her “Can’t take the heat,
get out of the kitchen’ points in debating Jamal Asssuck.

  364. Group to Air Obama ‘Willie Horton’ Ad

    Monday, April 21, 2008 8:34 PM
    By: Jim Meyers

The political operative behind the Willie Horton ad that helped defeat Michael Dukakis in the 1988 presidential race is releasing a new ad this week targeting Democratic White House hopeful Barack Obama.

Floyd Brown, a longtime conservative strategist who heads the conservative National Campaign Fund, said he is launching the ad to expose Obama’s weakness on gang violence.

“The ad draws a parallel between Obama’s weakness on gang violence and the war on terror,” said Brown. Brown is the former head of Citizens United, which claims to be the largest political action group for conservatives in the United States.

In his new ad Brown tells of a woman leaving church choir practice who was killed by gang gunfire while shielding her 6-year-old daughter, a 15-year-old boy beaten with bricks after a gang member crashed into his car, and a 14-year-old boy shot five times in the back for refusing to flash a gang hand sign.

“They all died in 2001. In Chicago,” the voice-over declares.

That same year, Barack Obama — then an Illinois state senator — voted against expanding the death penalty for gang-related murders, the ad points out.

The ad concludes, “When the time came to get tough, Obama chose to be weak. So the question is: Can a man so weak in the war on gangs be trusted in the war on terror?”

Brown says the ad will run in targeted states beginning on Tuesday.

You can view the ad by Clicking Here Now.

During the early part of Barack Obama’s political career he opposed the death penalty. In recent years, however, he has modified his position to

support the death penalty in cases involving the “most heinous” of crimes.

In 2001 as an Ilinois State Senator, Obama did vote against a proposed law that would have widened the scope of the death penalty to include some gang activity. The bill passed the legislature but was later vetoed by then Republican Governor George Ryan, who imposed a moratorium on death penalty executions.

Obama defended his opposition to the gang death penalty bill because, he argued, it would unevenly apply to minorities.

“There’s a strong overlap between gang affiliation and young men of color . . . I think it’s problematic for them to be singled out as more likely to receive the death penalty for carrying out certain acts than are others who do the same thing,” Obama said at the time.

Whether this highly partisan ad will stick as Obama’s “Willie Horton” is yet to be seen.

Massachusetts inmate Willie Horton was serving a life sentence for murder, without parole, when he was released as part of a weekend furlough program in June 1986. He did not return, and in April 1987 he twice raped a woman in Maryland after pistol-whipping and knifing her fiancé.

Michael Dukakis was the governor of Massachusetts at the time of Horton’s release. He supported the furlough program as a method of criminal rehabilitation, and when the Massachusetts legislature passed a bill prohibiting furloughs for first-degree murderers, Dukakis vetoed the bill.

Beginning in September 1988, an organization headed by Floyd Brown backed George H.W. Bush in his race against Dukakis. Brown’s group produced and aired an ad detailing the Horton case and Dukakis’ role.

To conservatives, the name Willie Horton became synonymous with soft-on-crime liberalism. Liberals said the ad was nothing more than veiled racism. Horton was an African-American. The ad is widely thought to have played a significant role in helping Bush win the presidency.

  365. Anderson Cooper: “Howard dean wants this over asap.
But he doesn’t have the power to make it happen.”

Borger: “If she wins by double-digits, nowhere near over.”

  366. “Howard dean wants this over asap.
But he doesn’t have the power to make it happen.”

  367. Joe Klein, who we don’t trust as far as we can throw (paraphrased);

“I spent a day with both on their campaigns this week.
He seemed weary, bummed, maybe angry.

“She was on fire. She can feel this moving in her direction.”

  368. Yes Texan, yes. I mused weeks ago that the longer this goes the more help we’d get, repubs would have to start their attacks. They can’t wait.
They’re way too far down in generic matchups, D v R.

They’re a bunch of nasty pricks, CU. Good.

  369. He got to milk a cow and “pull the thing that makes it go “toot!”

Seriously, did someone clone Bush? Who’s sick of buffoon Presidents?

  370. What time do the polls close tomorrow? I can’t believe I’m reading these posts when i have so many exams to correct. I’m just so excited.

  371. Ohio numbers we’ll want to match or beat tomorrow;

    HRC / 69-22 older
    HRC / 58-40 non-college
    BO / 51-47 college voters
    HRC / 65-34 Catholics

  373. I still want to know how Obama is going to change Washington. He never tells us how he is going to change Washington. How stupid does he think we are. Washington is Washington. You learn to work around it. Like Cokie Roberts said, it is set up the way it is because that there are checks and balances and it is meant to move slowly. How is Obama going to change it. Will he write Executive Orders for what he wants bypassing the legislature? How hard is it to fight the corporations. Just say “No.”

Further, Obama is afraid to debate Hillary. He knows he is inferior when it comes to debating her. I can’t wait to see her debate McCain. She will talk rings around him. Another thing I don’t understand is the media when Hillary goes negative. Her negative is like a kiss when you compare it to Obama’s negative. He is a stinkin, nasty, lyin’
    man. Dirty, dirty, dirty.

Also, I want to know where Obama got the $330,000 downpayment for his million dollar house. He paid it before he got any book money. Hmmmm. Wonder where it came from.

I used to spend summers in Scranton too. My girlfriend’s grandparents lived there and we would take the train from Binghamton NY to Scranton in the summer. I loved it. There are so many beautiful places in PA. Bucks County is gorgeous. The fall is beautiful with the leaves turning. I live in Florida now and the only thing I miss about the north is autumn. Every October I yearn for the leaves.

Go Hillary. We love you and will stay loyal no matter what happens. I never thought I would see my husband go crazy over a presidential candidate but he has your back all the way.

    Have a nice night everyone.

  374. this ad is so bad bc the press neevr would vet him. if this runs on top of pa and the debate it could really spell doom for obama love fests

  375. Good morning Hill fans. It looks like Zogby is running for cover as his final PA poll now has Hillary up by 10 points and growing.

    Released: April 22, 2008
Newsmax/Zogby Poll: Clinton Up 10 Points; Beats Margin of Error

UTICA, New York – New York’s Hillary Clinton continued to pull away from rival Barack Obama of Illinois as the campaigning in Pennsylvania ended and voters prepared to cast ballots today, the latest Newsmax/Zogby daily telephone tracking poll shows.

She now leads Obama, 51% to 41%, having gained three points over the past 24 hours as Obama lost one point, pushing her beyond the poll’s margin of error to create a statistically significant lead for the first time in the Pennsylvania daily tracking poll.

Meanwhile, 6% remained undecided and another 3% said they preferred someone else in the two-day tracking poll. It was conducted April 20-21, 2008, using live operators working out of Zogby’s on-site call center in Upstate New York, included 675 likely Democratic primary voters in Pennsylvania. It carries a margin of error of +/- 3.8 percentage points.

  376. I just wonder if this primary of Pennsylvania will be the first test of all the drip, drip, drip of bad news from the Obama campaign? I don’t remember if there has been another primary since Texas, has there been? Its all beginning to be a blur!

  377. hillary pens op-ed today for philly enquirer-

MY FAMILY HAS a long history in Pennsylvania, and having the chance to campaign here has meant a great deal to me. My grandfather moved to Scranton at age two. He went to work in the lace mills at age 11 and often worked six days a week until he retired. My father grew up in that working- class family, and although we lived in Chicago, his heart never left Pennsylvania. My brothers and I were christened here, and every summer, we would stay in the cottage my grandfather built on Lake Winola.
Traveling across this state today, I see that same Pennsylvania spirit my family instilled in me – that wonderful combination of resilience, patriotism and optimism. A spirit that says anything is possible when we roll up our sleeves and get to work. That is the spirit I’m bringing to my campaign, and the spirit I will bring to my presidency.

After seven years of President Bush, we know we have our work cut out for us: two wars abroad, a recession looming here at home, a health-care crisis, an energy crisis, and threats to our security ranging from extremism to terrorism to climate change to global pandemics.

Today, we need a president with the strength and knowledge to tackle these challenges starting on day one. A leader who knows how to turn our economy around and lift up our middle class. A commander-in-chief who is ready to end the war in Iraq and keep our families safe. I’m ready to be that president.

And I’m offering real solutions, not just speeches, for the problems we face. Because it’s not enough to just say you’re going to solve our problems; you need to know how you’re going to do it.

I’m offering solutions to create an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top. That means creating good jobs – jobs rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure, twenty-first century manufacturing jobs, and more – jobs that pay the bills and won’t be shipped overseas.

I’m offering solutions to end our dependence on foreign oil. We had the Industrial Age and the Information Age. It’s time for a new era: the Clean Energy Age. We’ll invest in clean, renewable energy sources produced right here in America: biofuels, clean coal, wind energy, solar power. And we’ll create at least five million new jobs along the way. We’ll pay for it by taking away the billions in tax breaks that George Bush and Dick Cheney gave the oil companies.

I’m offering solutions to finally provide health care to every man, woman and child in America. Under my plan, if you have insurance you like, you keep it. Nothing changes. But if you’re uninsured or underinsured,

you’ll have access to the same health plan that members of Congress have. And we’ll offer tax credits to make sure everyone can afford it.

I’m offering solutions to rein in the corporate special interests and strengthen the middle class. I’ll end $55 billion in special breaks that President Bush gave the oil companies, drug companies and Wall Street, and give middle-class families a break instead. I’ve proposed $100 billion in middle-class tax cuts to help families afford health care, college and save for retirement.

Finally, I’m offering solutions to restore America’s standing in the world. We will end this era of cowboy diplomacy, end the war in Iraq, and start bringing our troops home as quickly and responsibly as possible. And when our troops do come home, we will give them the care and the benefits they’ve earned.

Accomplishing all of this won’t be easy. But if there is one thing you know about me, it’s this: I don’t back down from a challenge. When I say I’ll stand with you, I stand with you. When I say I’ll fight for you, I fight for you. And I won’t give up until the job is done.

My great-grandparents came to America because they wanted to give their children opportunities they never had. America was a symbol of everything they hoped for – a place where, if you were willing to work hard, anything was possible. They found that better life in Scranton.

It is up to us to keep the promise of America for the next generation – to roll up our sleeves and start solving our toughest problems again. That is exactly what I’ll do as president. *

  378. The best piece of news I’ve seen this week was a Fox story about interviewing undecided Superdelegates. Only about half of them were willing to be interviewed. Of those, the largest number said they were going to use their own best judgement and choose the best candidate. (Much smaller numbers said vote with their consitutents, or with the delegate lead.)

I’d guess the undecideds who refused to be interviewed, might be more for their own judgement.

  379. WaffleGate. It feeds right into BO’s weak/whining/crybaby image.

And Garin & Wolfsen had best remember in Wednesday morning’s victorious conference call to emphatically point out that BO had
6 weeks to work PA [and contrary to his advisors & numerous mouthpieces promising that he’d win over ever last voter with his irresistible charm] and not only won’t he win, but he won’t even move the numbers!

I want nothing less than a blistering assault going into NC.

    Make the SD’s afraid.

  380. I have a question, and good morning everyone! Why is CNN so biased against Hillary? The women especially. I have heard it is because when Hillary was first lady she never gave a time of day. I’m curious if the women at the center are being pressured and if the men just really feel intiminated by her powerful position. Dan abrams was once fair now he is not, You have probably seen anchorman with Will Farrell I could imagine what it is like working with these power- ego maniacs!

  381. winhillary, please stay away from cnn, msnbc, and the nutkook blogs. foxnews(god i can’t believe i am watching this channel) for the fairest coverage. for years as a left of center dem i loathed foxnews. now they are the fairest to hillary.

Why is CNN so biased against Hillary? The women especially. I have heard it is because when Hillary was first lady she never gave a time of day.

No, that doesn’t time out right. During the 90s CNN was owned by some liberal individuals (Jane Fonda? Ted Turner?) and did a great job; fair, world-perspective, much international news, somewhat pro-Clinton. Then in 2000 CNN was bought by some conservative company and started trashing Gore.

  384. Good Morning fellow HI44’s Todays the big one, lets dazzle like Hillary dazzles us every day.

Today is the day we show them all what good hard stuff is made off.

  387. 1950democrat,

Ted Turner ownes CNN, but again maybe there is some underlining issue that we don’t see! They sure make it obvious.

  388. LOL, hillfans last night i called the dnc dumb national cupcakes on blog. they removed the comment as offensive. i almost knew they would do that.

  389. Ted Turner and Jane Fonda, any wonder its CNN in the tank for Obama, the Fonda one speaks millions.

Controlled excitement is building inside of Clinton’s inner circle as closely guarded internal polling shows the former first lady with an 11-point lead in Pennsylvania!
Clinton is polling near to nearly 2 to 1 over Obama in many regions of the state, a top insider explained to the DRUDGE REPORT.

A strong coalition of middle-class and religious voters has all but secured a Clinton victory Tuesday, with headline-making margins, the campaign believes.

“It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of how much,” a senior campaign source said Monday morning.

When pressed if the dramatic internal polling numbers could somehow be flawed in a state as demographically complex as Pennsylvania, and with new voter registration surging to unseen levels, the campaign insider held firm.

“Senator Obama would be wise not to unpack his bags quite yet.”

With less than 24 hours to go until the beginning of the end of primary season voting, Obama has handedly captured Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, but has failed to dominate suburban sprawl, the campaign’s polling reveals.

An 11-point victory in Pennsylvania for Clinton would expand on margins scored in Ohio.
Clinton will quickly move to feverishly focus on Indiana starting Tuesday night, hoping to somehow convince superdelegates that she not only has superior stamina but has crucial swing state appeal.

  392. Oballsman got owned, he didnt go after her. He was wise, he knows she would have slaughtered him.

  393. Hey did you hear that michael moore endorsed obama and called Hillary disgusting! Please Moore you made millions on your point about universal health care and now you slam the only one that supports it! Shut the hell up! I dont even want to read the article but hey, fox news reports everything

  394. Morning all! Here’s some fun. Go to Sean Hannity’s radio website. They have a poll for Republicans to pick the Democrat who would be stronger on American Security and Defense. Results: Hillary 80% Obama 20% I think we know who Republicans crossing over in Pennsylvania are going to vote for…..

  395. Well, to be fair to Michael Moore, he didn’t call Hillary disgusting, but… , well, read it for yourself;
“Well, that sounded good last year, but over the past two months, the actions and words of Hillary Clinton have gone from being merely disappointing to downright disgusting. I guess the debate last week was the final straw. I’ve watched Senator Clinton and her husband play this game of appealing to the worst side of white people, but last Wednesday, when she hurled the name “Farrakhan” out of nowhere, well that’s when the silly season came to an early end for me.

Moore is supposed to know better; but then he missed so much of the real health care debate in ‘Sicko’, I knew he was off the rails.
His use of ‘silly season’ is perhaps the surest sign he’s drank the Kool-Aid.
And there goes Mika, tellin’ Axelrod, on-air, “We love ya”.

So the world’s as nuts as I left it. Except we win PA today!
    Here’s McAuliffe.. predicting victory!!!

  398. Barack Obama just wants to eat his waffles in peace

BY MICHAEL McAULIFF in Scranton, Pa.,
and MICHAEL SAUL in Blue Bell, Pa.

    Tuesday, April 22nd 2008, 4:00 AM

Sen. Barack Obama doesn’t waffle when it comes time to sign autograph at Glider’s Diner in Scranton, Pa., Monday. Obama grew testy when reporter interrupted breakfast.

Don’t bother Barack Obama when he’s eating waffles. Just don’t.

Obama’s testy reaction to a reporter’s breakfast interruption, along with tense exchanges between the front-runner and Democratic rival Hillary Clinton, marked the final day of campaigning before Tuesday’s Pennsylvania primary.

Most polls show Clinton maintaining a single-digit lead in the Keystone State, and Obama aides tried to manage expectations by acknowledging the Illinois senator expects to lose this round.

Clinton released a new ad – with stark images of the attack on Pearl Harbor, Osama Bin Laden and Hurricane Katrina – suggesting she is better equipped than Obama to lead the nation in a crisis.

“It’s the toughest job in the world,” an announcer intones. “Who do you think has what it takes?”

And Clinton took tough talk to a new level in an ABC News interview, saying she would destroy Iran if it ever launched a nuclear attack against Israel.

“We would be able to totally obliterate them,” she said.

At Glider’s Diner in Scranton, Pa., Obama would not let a reporter’s question come between him and his breakfast plate.

Asked to comment on former President Jimmy Carter’s meeting with Hamas officials, the senator replied sternly, “Why can’t I just eat my waffle?”

The reporter repeated the question. Obama took a bite into a butter-smothered oversize Belgian waffle, and said – this time with a wink – “Just let me eat my waffle.”

  399. Today is the day
    Now is the moment
Pennsylvania, stand up, for we are in need of your courage

Show the world we Americans can not be bullied by a sinister media
Will not be bamboozled by a carnie disguised as our friend
But instead will ring a bell of defiance heard throughout the world

    Onward Hillfans, Onward Pennsylvania
The fate of the country is now in your hands
Rise to the occasion, rise for evermore!

  400. Wanted to let you guys know that I just finished an article over at my site which ties together: A Chicago Sun Times article from today which discusses how Obama’s ‘brand’ has suffered in PA; the proper way to look at and frame today’s contest; the political realities facing our party if Barack Obama is made our nominee; how North Carolina can’t ‘save’ Obama in the eyes of the superdelegates; and the idiotic decision which our party’s leaders are on course to make and a decision which will ultimately cost them their jobs:

    Hope you enjoy it!

Paul F. Villarreal AKA “Universal” AKA “RokSki”

  401. Did you all get the feeling Obama was MIA yesterday — Clinton was everywhere and doing great and the story for him was “leave me alone with my waffle..” KO and Larry King obligated to say that he did not take up on their invitation. He is afraid and hope SDs are watching. There is no way he is ready for GE and that 527 ad T4H linked earlier is a killer.

  402. Universal, that is a spot on analysis of where things stand today. Your take needs to be put before the eyes of every single super delegate. Who can make that happen?

  403. I would like to know what the internal numbers show??? (the campaign said they did not do a sunday poll, i don’t beleive them). My guess, she wins by 11.

Obama Hints That His 21st Debate With Clinton Was His Last
By Hans Nichols and Kristin Jensen

April 17 (Bloomberg) — Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama hinted today that he may be finished debating rival Hillary Clinton, dismissing the forums as little more than a chance for her to “twist the knife.”

He suggested that he had more efficient ways of communicating with voters in North Carolina and Indiana, which will hold primaries on May 6, after Pennsylvania’s April 22 contest.

Asked by an audience member if he would agree to a North Carolina debate, Obama demurred. “I’ll be honest with you, we’ve now had 21,” he said, chuckling.

Isn’t this similar to the “I already answered eight of your questions”, the press Q&A a few weeks back (where he abruptly walked off)?

Yes, this whole exercise in democracy is such a pain in the butt. Running for President is hard. We should all make it nice and easy for Mr. Obama, because he’s such a nice guy. Comfy pillow? Now for the kind of questions Obambi would like us to ask:

“Are you going to be a great president, or the greatest?”
“Is Hillary evil incarnate, or just a really nasty b*tch”?

Obama: I’m glad you asked that question.

  405. The campagine seems to be down playing the numbers a little too much, which leads me to beleive that they have some good news from internals

Easley urges Obama to debate in N.C.

Gov. Mike Easley is urging Barack Obama to agree to a debate in North Carolina.

In a letter dated Tuesday, Easley wrote to Obama that a debate with Democratic rival Hillary Clinton would energize and motivate N.C. voters ahead of the May 6 primary.

Easley writes that the debate would benefit 75,000 new Democrats and 50,000 unaffiliated voters who have recently registered. “By participating in a nationally televised forum you will send a message to these newly registered voters, as well as millions of other North Carolinians, that their vote will count and their voice is being heard,” the letter reads.

Easley, a two-term Democrat who had supported John Edwards for president, has not endorsed either Clinton or Obama. Easley political adviser Mac McCorkle said the letter should not be read as favoring one over the other.

The N.C. Democratic Party and the CBS network are trying to organize the debate for April 27 at Raleigh’s RBC Center. Clinton has agreed. Obama has not, citing scheduling conflicts and a desire to campaign in other ways.

Hmmm, an Edwards supporter who feels Obama isn’t doing all he can to reach North Carolinian Dems…if he does endorse one or the other, I like our odds with this guy.

  407. so how can we do even more to help the finances of her campaign .. tomorrow she will be meeting with donors

  408. Some of us on Taylor Marsh are pledging to donate $10 for every point Hillary wins by in PA. I’m in, even if it’s by 20, and costs me $200!

  411. How are you all getting through the day? I hope you all have jobs to go to – relieve the tension – sometimes it’s hard to be retired. I woke up early with the sun just beginning to stream through the evergreens, and my first thought was, “She’s got to win, she’s got to win, she will win, she will – win big, how big – don’t look at the polls, don’t look at the news, don’t hang out all day reading Hillary blogs, find things to do – catch up on procrastinations: make appointment for annual blood test, make appointment for eye checkup, also chiropractor and appointment to see foot doctor about that aching toe, – I hate fussing over health matters, hate doing this stuff. But then a thought came that hurt, really hurt. I heard my head say, “Count your blessings – you have health insurance – so many people do not. Sure, it’s not a new thought, but today it got to me. Alone in my room, I almost said out loud, “This is INTOLERABLE! INTOLERABLE! SHE’s the only one willing and able to actually fix this intolerable and deplorable health care situation! I know she will win, I know she will, I know she will…oh, please, voters of Pennsylvania, sweep that glossy faker away!

  412. I just saw some stupid Obama supporter trying to make the argument of If its low turnout today, Clinton wins, if its high Turnout Obama wins, er, explain California and Texas and Ohio then dumbass.

  413. Per Mark Halperin:

LA Times: “Obama strategists said Monday that they expected to announce a series of additional endorsements by uncommitted superdelegates shortly after Pennsylvania votes.”

My take on this, about 2-3 weeks ago the Obama campagine was to announce a substancial number of SD endorceing him, that never materialize???

  414. How many friggin times have we heard this and its the Obama usual trick, She wins, he anounce some halfbiy supporter, the SD’s have figured this out, If Clinton this one big, I think SD’s will be tossing over to her quicker than lightening.

KO opened with a policy question, then went on the attack.
    …By then KO was deflated.

KO asked about Scaife and the endorsement by his newspaper.

Hillary did very well. KO tried but Hillary triumphed once again.

We knew KO would try to play gotcha. Guess what. She was PREPARED.

Unlike that other candidate, who apparently didn’t expect tough questions in the debate. Or worse yet, he rehearsed those responses, and yet that was the best he could do.

One of the reasons we feel debating skills are important is because the GE always has like at least 3 debates. Being able to think on your feet, and knowing the topics, are crucial. Barack is a weak debater, while Hillary is exceptional. You can actually see the bullet points going off in her head (she uses her fingers as a way of ticking off item after item). With BO, you get like a seasick feeling as he tries to string a bunch of stump speech phrases together. You *almost* feel sorry for him sometimes.

The final Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of the Democratic Presidential Primary in Pennsylvania shows Hillary Clinton with 49% of the vote and Barack Obama with 44%. This election poll was conducted Sunday afternoon and evening.

Well, if Rasmussen is showing 6pt lead, that really means it is 10 to 11 point lead (keep being positive)!! 🙂

One of the biggest problems in the DNC remains the horrible Donna Brazile. Look at this divisive rhetoric:

There’s a group around [Sen. Clinton] that really wants to take the fight to the convention. They don’t care about the party. It scares me, and that’s what scares a lot of superdelegates.
What a harmful figure Donna Brazile is to the Democratic Party. Apparently she cares not at all about unifying the Democratic Party. She should resign from the DNC immediately.

The good news was delievered by none other then Carol Ann Campbell:

The Obama people are asking for names of people they can pay to canvass for the candidate. “Any way you look at it, they are paying people.” So no street money, but a little canvassing money.

  436. The bots over at DU are shitting themselves today, they are all trying to call for Hillary to drop out by tomorrow. LOL.

Attorneys are instructed to report incidents to the campaigns National Voter Protection Center.

  441. If Obama keeps pulling this, the MSM is going to turn rabid on him, no mistake. Do not make an enemy of the MSM you idiot.

BLUE BELL, Pennsylvania (CNN) – It’s now been ten days since Democrat Barack Obama has made himself available for questions from his traveling press corps, and it appears as though that number could rise even higher in the days to come.

Aides have said it’ll be unlikely he’ll hold an availability with reporters before Tuesday’s Pennsylvania primary, but that they “could always add one.” Although given their track record over the past few days, that doesn’t sound promising.

Over the past three days, the possibility of a media availability has been dangled in front of reporters twice—only to be snatched away at the last possible moment.

  442. What’s wrong with long lines? It’s early. I find it hard to believe in a Dem controlled state there are not enough polling machines. Interesting he’s called in a team of lawyers.

  443. You and I both know what shit he is going to pull.

AA disenfranchisement, Clinton worker bias. Poll exclusion, same shit he’s pulled everywhere.

  444. my polling place 10 minutes from Center City in a Suburb of Philadelphia had no wait at all. Two polling machines.

  445. In January, Harold Ickes, who was Bill’s deputy White House chief of staff, left his lobbying firm to corral superdelegates for Hillary’s campaign. On the eve of the Pennsylvania primary, he spoke to Lloyd Grove about Hillary’s tenacious endgame.

Give me your sense of the state of play.
It’s a virtual dead heat, and with 3,100 delegates having chosen sides, Hillary is trailing Obama by a little over 130 delegates. She’s going to narrow that gap. If virtually all of the superdelegates remain uncommitted until the fourth of June, after every last jurisdiction has voted, neither candidate will have enough delegates to clinch the nomination.

Howard Dean says he thinks it should be resolved by July 1. Is that the working deadline?
No, I don’t have any working deadline. My best guess is it’ll be resolved before the convention.

How do you think she’ll do in Pennsylvania?
We say that she’s going to do very well.

    What’s “very well”? Six points?
I’m not going to put a number on it.

Heilemann on Why Obama Needs to Borrow From Bill Clinton’s Past

What do superdelegates want to hear from you?
There are two big categories. One is members of Congress. Their primary interest is in getting reelected. They want to know which of the two will help them most or, conversely, which one will hurt them least. And then the two-thirds remaining are the members of the DNC, primarily. So what they are looking at is more which candidate can better pull together the swing states needed to win 270 electoral votes.

Are you arguing to superdelegates that Obama can’t win the general election?
I don’t think anybody would argue that he can’t win.

What is the argument for making Hillary the nominee if she’s behind in pledged delegates and the popular vote?
We expect her to be ahead in the popular vote. The key argument is who is going to be able to stand up to the incoming fire from the Republicans. And it will be withering.

    But not sniper fire.
Well, even sniper fire—when it’s around. The press, by and large, has been a lapdog for Mr. Obama. The press has not done its due diligence, has not scrutinized him. Look at what a group of draft dodgers, led by Five-Time-Deferment Cheney and President Bush, did to a genuine war hero, John Kerry. Hillary is a known quantity.

She’s kind of inoculated against it, having suffered from the disease already? Your words, not mine.

You worked in the presidential campaigns of Ted Kennedy and Jesse Jackson, who both support Obama. Ever think of joining them?
My heart is with Hillary. That’s where I’ve been; that’s where I intend to stay.

  446. Well, I hope Hill supporters are getting out there. They still want people calling PA. It’s on Hill’s blog.

mj, I finally saw that ad and I don’t find it offensive at all, maybe because I’m from Los Angeles and we have a horrible gang problem and gang members are getting the death penalty for murder…so what’s the problem?

Yes, the ad was hard hitting but it wasn’t racist like that Willie Horton ad, since the victims were black and it talked about his record as a state senator. And I do know something about the crime problem in Obama’s ward as my mother-law lives there and has to deal with gang violence.

Maybe I just don’t understand this “precious” attitude for Obama, I just don’t get it…but it’s alright for Obama to use tactics that the KKK used against people of color. That’s alright, deny people their votes, keep them out of the convention, use the letter of the law for the tiniest issues…I still remember Civil Rights Heroine Fannie Lou Hamer fighting to get black delegates seated from Mississippi in Democratic Convention, so no I don’t feel sorry for Barack Hussein Obama plight with the GOP and their 527s.

Voters know who they are voting for when they show up at the polls and this attempt to influence someone with a hamburger is just a waste of money. The more money they waste in PA the less they have to spend in NC and IN.

  453. Waffle-finger-gate:

Hey I read the article and I think he is actually flipping off the REPORTER not the nice woman requesting his autograph. He is trying to be subtle, cause that waffle with extra butter (comfort food) is really good and he wants to eat it bad.

If we can get this picture sent to every PA news web-site it would go a HUGE way to helping us win BIG. Pennsylvanian’s are a lot of things but one thing they are is polite and respectful and this man is not.

He is clearly flipping off the reporter for interupting his autograph and waffle eating session. Not presidential

  454. The best thing is, America, this is where your donations to Fuckwits campaign is going, concert tickets for kids and McDonalds gift vouchers.

Wouldnt these vouchers have to be registered as a legitimate donation for them to give them out. I wonder does McDonalds head office know.
    Perhaps we should tell them.

PReety good will wait for Peurto Rico!

  456. This week’s response to Howard-the duck-Dean:
You know Mr. Dean, I don’t think I’ll contribute anything to the DNC until you become the leader of the DNC, instead of an enabler to a group of people who are attempting to move the party away from its centrist position. That centrist position is one that serves the largest portion of the party, not just a small number of “special people.”

We will all know when you have taken a stand (thank god for open meetings legislation.) At that time I will be happy to contribute.

May another meeting such as occurred in August of last year NEVER happen again.

  457. hi hillfans. is it me or the new hillary spokeman geoff garin seem to me a less than steller debater. he bumbles and stumbles on his words and do not come across well in debating the other side. howard wolfson is much better in that regard.

  458. I’m sorry I would not give Dean a polite response he is never going to listen to any of us, total lost cause, I go along with the “go fuck yourself” response, I gave him.

  459. for levity as we wait this out I have a funny anecdote
my computer room/slash office is actually part of an enclosed porch. i was sitting here the other night when i heard something in the yard looked out the window to see a couple of young kids attempting to deface my hill sign. i grabbed my camera and got them all in the act. they took off like bats out of hell. i screamed after them that i was calling the police. twenty minutes later the door bell rang– it was one of thier mothers to apologize and ask me not to report(which i never would as they were all under 16 and i was a kid once). Seems her son has had problems before and has been warned. I told her I was only playing with them.

  460. I’d have got mileage out of it Henry and told his mother, you won’t report them if they spent the whole day today carrying Hillary signs round the precinct, missed opportunity.

  461. this mc donalds thing reminded me of this article i read about E edwards yesterday, where she was asked this question and how she answered it…..struck me as coincidentally funny with todays “I will buy you a cheeseburger for your vote today ” also reminds me of popeye’s “whimpy” character ……anyways here is the question and answer

Q: In your Forum address, you were pretty critical of the media for putting entertainment ahead of substance. Do you think that part of the problem with the media is more of a demand problem? The analogy that comes to mind is, everyone wants a Big Mac even though they know it’s bad for them. And we have a public that wants to find out the latest on Britney Spears. So how do you disentangle what people want from what they should want?

A: I think a lot reasons people eat a Big Mac as opposed to a salad is because they can drive through and get the Big Mac and eat it while they drive. And they can’t eat the salad. If somebody put a salad out in front of them, people might eat that instead. But we make it very easy to eat the Big Mac, very hard to eat the salad. And therefore people make the choices that they do.

  462. To confess I was still tickled pink by the chase i gave them. Several blocks through yards over hedges and i definately could have caught them I was just playing. Scared the shite out of them though to go home and tell mommy. I am still laughing.

  463. I watched the movie “lions for lambs” did anyone else here watch that movie yet????

what did you think of it??

I also watched redfords “extra” where he talks all the way though the movie explaining every single little aspect of it and its significant meaning ……that was the best part of it all……he is a very brilliant man!!

at any rate if you haven’t seen it……..go rent it today!!!
I swear the part of tom cruise is “obama” it becomes very clear when you watch and listen to redford in his comentary in the “extra section

  464. What’s your bet that, that CNN map is gonna be like Ohio and Texas and Missouri and California tonight, completely blanketed in Hillary light Blue.

  465. RJK, not the point. The point is to have people tell Obama voters, hey, if you go vote, you’ll get free McDonalds.

  466. I’m going out for a few hours tonight but i’ll be back for live blogging when it gets a bout 7 ET. Which is 2am here.

  467. okay guys…….. i need to bust a move around my house today

be back for live blogging tonight 😀

it’s gonna be a great day for Hillary:D

Rise Hillary! Rise!! and we will rise with you!!

  468. So guys, am i right that the McDonalds thing has to be registered as a legal donation, after all its akin to a cash amount.

McDonalds has effectively donated money, do they know at Mig Mac Mountain, lol.

  469. Whoa, ARG just released their final Poll for PA, today

Clinton 56% to Obama’s 40%, She went up 2, he went down 1

  470. someone “unaffiliated with the campaign” probably made the purchase and distributed 100 ft from polling center. I said before if he is the nom i will stand 100 feet from the polling place with a recording of Wright saying god damn america and i will and i will do it at 7 am in the most affluent pro-bambi site i can find. Am I bitter?

  471. Arg Says

17% of all likely Democratic primary voters say they would never vote for Hillary Clinton in the primary and 32% of likely Democratic primary voters say they would never vote for Barack Obama in the primary.

So twice as many people will not vote for Obama as they would Clinton, thats great news for her.

  472. arg hasn’t been very reliable, but it looks like the undecideds in their pool of voters are moving towards Hillary.

  473. Actually to be fair, ARG had Texas spot on, they said Clinton 50, Obama 47.

They said Ohio Clinton 56 to Obama 42, pretty good and had California as Clinto 49 to Obama 45, so they are not that bad.

  474. Can you tell me where Obama is giving away MacDonalds certificates. I am in Erie would like to know

  475. I suspect the elderlyare some of the most entusiastic here voting for Hillary, they’ll be out in droves today.

    Are you that hungrey?

  477. Carbynew

No i don’t want any of that artery cloging food. I am sitting here with an attorney. I just wanted to know if it was legal.

  478. henry .. any local news reporting on turn out, etc?

I have not heard one peep on national tv about turnout .. odd, so it must not be good for Obama. I would like some ground reports from somebody .. I’m getting wired.
