Barack Obama – Unelectable Bigot, Part I

Barack Obama never stops with the politics of distraction and distortion and division.

Barack Obama is tied to “Pastor” Wright for 20 years, tied to Antoin “Tony” Rezko for 20 years, and attempts to expiate these close relationships by releasing 20 second robo-photo pictures of these dastards with Bill Clinton. Barack Obama has slimed Hillary and Bill Clinton with racial smears, has slimed Geraldine Ferraro with racial smears, slimes his own grandmother with racial smears, disenfranchises the voters of Michigan and Florida, and continues to change his version of every story continously all the while talking unity.

Instead of answering questions about his own bigotry, Obama distracts and distorts and divides. Like Felix The Cat, Whenever he gets in a fix, he reaches into his bag of tricks.

This not so wonderful Chicago cat reached into his bag of tricks and pulled out a batch of racial smears to get himself out of his latest fix. Today it is fake outrage over a passport. Bill Clinton had his passport files investigated back in 1992 so now Obama and his Big Media protectors are using a similar situation to divert from Obama’s dirty dealings.

It won’t work. Voters will not be distracted by Obama’s tricks.

Voters are asking, What kind of man, what kind of person would slime his own 86 year old grandmother for political profit? The answer is, a man eager to distract and divide and distort from his own failures of judgment. Such a man would throw grandma off the train.

Tuesday’s race speech was yet another Obama trick to distract:

The beauty of a speech is that you don’t just give the answers, you provide your own questions. “Did I ever hear him make remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church? Yes.” So said Barack Obama, in his Philadelphia speech about his pastor, friend, mentor and spiritual adviser of 20 years, Jeremiah Wright.

An interesting, if belated, admission.

We at Big Pink saw through that lie immediately. Krauthammer at the Washington Post joins us in catching that lie and additional distractions, today:

“There will no doubt be those for whom my statements of condemnation are not enough. Why associate myself with Reverend Wright in the first place, they may ask? Why not join another church?”

But that is not the question. The question is why didn’t he leave that church? Why didn’t he leave — why doesn’t he leave even today — a pastor who thundered not once but three times from the pulpit (on a DVD the church proudly sells) “God damn America”? Obama’s 5,000-word speech, fawned over as a great meditation on race, is little more than an elegantly crafted, brilliantly sophistic justification of that scandalous dereliction.

We saw through the ‘let’s talk race instead of my lack of judgment’ distortion before the speech. Obama refuses to confess to his total lack of judgment and instead proceeds to slime anyone within reach. As we wrote in Barack Obama’s Race regarding Obama’s attempts to distract, Instead of addressing his lack of judgment, Obama will again exploit race and racial tensions for his benefit. Obama himself has introduced racial tensions to this election – in order to try to save his useless candidacy.

Obama’s degenerate defense of sliming even grandma:

His defense rests on two central propositions: (a) moral equivalence and (b) white guilt.

(a) Moral equivalence. Sure, says Obama, there’s Wright, but at the other “end of the spectrum” there’s Geraldine Ferraro, opponents of affirmative action and his own white grandmother, “who once confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street, and who on more than one occasion has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made me cringe.” But did she shout them in a crowded theater to incite, enrage and poison others?

“I can no more disown [Wright] than I can my white grandmother.” What exactly was Grandma’s offense? Jesse Jackson himself once admitted to the fear he feels from the footsteps of black men on the street. And Harry Truman was known to use epithets for blacks and Jews in private, yet is revered for desegregating the armed forces and recognizing the first Jewish state since Jesus’s time. He never spread racial hatred. Nor did Grandma.

Yet Obama compares her to Wright. Does he not see the moral difference between the occasional private expression of the prejudices of one’s time and the use of a public stage to spread racial lies and race hatred?

(b) White guilt. Obama’s purpose in the speech was to put Wright’s outrages in context. By context, Obama means history. And by history, he means the history of white racism. Obama says, “We do not need to recite here the history of racial injustice in this country,” and then he proceeds to do precisely that. What lies at the end of his recital of the long train of white racial assaults from slavery to employment discrimination? Jeremiah Wright, of course.

Again, the Wright scandal has very little to do with race – this is about Obama’s lack of judgment and his willingness to divide in order to conquer:

But Obama was supposed to be new. He flatters himself as a man of the future transcending the anger of the past as represented by his beloved pastor. Obama then waxes rhapsodic about the hope brought by the new consciousness of the young people in his campaign. Then answer this, Senator: If Wright is a man of the past, why would you expose your children to his vitriolic divisiveness? This is a man who curses America and who proclaimed moral satisfaction in the deaths of 3,000 innocents at a time when their bodies were still being sought at Ground Zero. It is not just the older congregants who stand and cheer and roar in wild approval of Wright’s rants, but young people as well. Why did you give $22,500 just two years ago to a church run by a man of the past who infects the younger generation with precisely the racial attitudes and animus you say you have come unto us to transcend?

Those dumb old voters Obama wants to distract are not as dumb as Obama thinks they are. The Obama flim flam will not work.

Even if Hillary Rodham Clinton and her aides do not mention Barack Obama’s fiery-tongued spiritual mentor, don’t expect the Illinois senator’s well-publicized speech Tuesday to make the controversy disappear, political strategists said this week.

Reporters, talk-show hosts and others will keep asking about Obama’s close and long-standing relationship to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, whose most bombastic comments came to dominate the Democratic presidential contest recently, the strategists predicted in interviews. [snip]

“He can give a speech a week, and it’s not going to make the issue go away,” said Chris LaCivita, a Republican adviser who helped create the “Swift Boat” ads that severely damaged John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign.

In his much-discussed speech from Philadelphia on Tuesday, Obama strongly condemned Wright’s most controversial statements. But he did not repudiate Wright or his overall ministry, saying the man who officiated at his wedding is like a family member.

The decision will haunt Obama, LaCivita said, because his political success is built on his image as a uniter and almost messianic figure who eschews divisive strategies. When that image is juxtaposed to Wright’s outbursts comparing the United States to the Ku Klux Klan, among other things, voters will wonder if they misread Obama and his true character, he said. [snip]

Republican pollster Tony Fabrizio said many swing voters in the fall will not buy Obama’s claim that he can no more disown Wright than his own white grandmother. “You get to pick your minister,” he said. “You don’t pick your grandma.” [snip]

Swing voters, ethnic voters, Catholic voters are not going to like what Obama did” in stopping short of repudiating Wright, said Feehery, naming groups that have rallied to Clinton in industrial states and could boost her chances in the April 22 Pennsylvania primary.

Voters are not dumb. Obama thinks he can divide, distract and distort – but voters are beginning to know who the real Obama is:

Stephanie Gill, a bartender in a white working-class neighborhood, noticed the shift immediately.

A week ago, her customers at Rauchut’s Tavern in Tacony didn’t have much to say about Barack Obama. But when she returned to work Wednesday, a day after the Illinois senator attempted to quell the furor over his pastor’s racially incendiary remarks, the reaction inside the corner bar was raw and unapologetic.

People are not happy with Obama,” Gill said. “It’s the race stuff.” [snip]

And his speech Tuesday, although widely praised by the pundit caste and Obama supporters, has only seemed to widen the gulf with the Budweiser class here.

More than a dozen interviews Wednesday found voters unmoved by Obama’s plea to move beyond racial divisions of the past. Despite baring himself with extraordinarily personal reflections on one of the most toxic issues of the day, a highly unusual move for a politician running for national office, the debate inside taverns and beauty shops here had barely moved beyond outrage aimed at the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and Obama’s refusal to “disown” his longtime pastor.

Big Media and “the pundit class” want to force feed Obama to Americans. Americans are nauseated with Obama and they won’t take a bite. Big Media and “the pundit class” ignored the obvious lies and hypocrisy we detected so quickly. Voters too saw what we so clearly saw:

A day after the speech, local residents were left wondering whether Obama was candid in the last week when he said he hadn’t heard any of Wright’s most objectionable remarks, but then said Tuesday that he had heard “controversial” remarks while sitting in the pews.

“He lied to Anderson Cooper,” said Rodica Mitrea, an aesthetician and immigrant from Romania, referring to an Obama interview Friday with the CNN anchor.

Americans who need universal health care know Hillary Clinton is the president they need. Big Media outlets are doing everything to help Obama with his distractions and distortions, but American voters are simply not that dumb. The voters agree with us that this is not a racial issue, this is about Obama’s judgment and Obama’s attempt to distract by blaming everyone else but himself:

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton relied on this blue-collar coalition — Catholics, union households, ethnic Europeans — to win Ohio. It accounts for her significant lead in Pennsylvania polls, and represents the demographic that political analysts say Obama needs to make gains with in order to present the strongest case possible for the Democratic nomination and the presidency.

Obama built his lead in the delegate race with a different kind of coalition. He won white voters in states like Virginia, Illinois and Wisconsin. But in recent contests, he has relied on African-Americans to offset Clinton’s strength among working-class whites.

Larry Ceisler, a Philadelphia political strategist, said the unvarnished look at race in America could help Obama in the suburban counties that surround Philadelphia, which carry an identity as a well-to-do, increasingly Democratic battleground.

The speech plays only among the elites,” Ceisler said. “The average person on the street cares about the economy and the war and everyday life.”

Glenn Peter, 54, a patron at Rauchut’s Tavern, said he heard finger pointing, not reconciliation. He took issue with Obama’s explanation that Wright’s observations of a racist America were reflecting the racial scars of his past.

I don’t want to hear that you are blaming us for him saying this,” said Peter, who is white and worked at an auto parts factory until it was shuttered several years ago. Cutting ties with the church “would have been the best way to do it. That way, I could have been able to listen to him again.”

Peter nursed his early evening cigarette and a beer at Rauchut’s, where Eagles memorabilia and decorative shamrocks feel secondary to an intimidating portrait of Frank Rizzo, the barrel-chested former mayor popular with white ethnic voters but with a mixed legacy on racial issues.

Peter said he’s never voted for a Republican for president, but if Obama is the nominee, he will support Sen. John McCain.

“I would have a hard time if it is Clinton and McCain,” Peter said.

  1. Good Morning Everyone:

I just made a donation to Hillary’s campaign in protest of Richardson’s endorsement. I have realized that we are going to have to fight for Hillary tooth and nail all the way to Denver. It seems that all the powers that be want it that way. So my challenge to you is for you to join me in a protest donation to Hillary. Let’s turn every negative into a positive with Hillary. There are many ways to do that – money is one of those ways. You may use my HillRaiser account if you feel so inclined. Thank you.

  2. Rihardson telegraphed this a while ago..glad its a done deal…another SD for BHO…we will live and fight another day..not gonna get him the latino vote…I would not be endorsing him after this week, i would wait a while..maybe thats why they had him do this today..to try to change the focus…passport-gate isn’t going anywhere

  3. admin,

Well done! I re-found my voice this morning. Living in MI, I feel extraordinarily frustrated. I guess that I am just a typical white person whose vote is not going to count. I believe that Howard Dean is holding the campaigns hostage for something he wants. I still think he regrets his commitment not to run in 08 when he was appointed DNC chaiman. New Hampshire moved their date, with no penalty. Why do MI and FL get penalized?

Then we have this shallow candidate, who has a looney-tune minister/advisor/mentor. I have attended a church that had a politically vocal minister. The comments were never a secret among the congregation, even days or weeks later. So when BHO says he never was in the pews, I find it very disingenuous. In addition, BHO’s ties to Rezko are troubling at best, and amazing at worst. But MSM thinks these things are minor, or not even worthy of coverage. His campaign’s responses of Rezko and Wright have included pictures of Bill Clinton (our generation’s greatest President)! What does he preach, er, say about running a campaign above all of that stuff?

I have contributed more to HRC’s campaign than any other candidate in my lifetime. I have been wearing her campaign buttons and using her bumper stickers since before her official candidacy announcement. It is so frustrating to see her fighting Howard Dean, MSM, BHO, and Davis Axelrod. BHO and Axelrod should be enough!

People have such short memories. I think that people have forgotten how much better things were with Hillary and Bill in the White House. Hillary would make an awesome President, help guide policies to help us all, end the war, and reestablish our country’s credibility around the world. McCain would continue the Bush years. Who knows what BHO would do? It’s been proven already that he says one thing for political gain, but means another (NAFTA/Canada). But then, I am just a typical white person, frustrated in MI.

  4. Oh and I’m not worried about Richardson’s endorsement. Richardson has shown poor judgment plenty of times. Enough for me to go from being a Richardson lover to no I would not want him as President. Some of his foreign policy positions were quite out there and not practical for example. He false accused Hillary of changing her position on Iraq. He’s not horrible. But I would classify him as a B+ politician if I had to assign a grade.

  5. Here’s what Richardson said:

“I believe he is the kind of once-in-a-lifetime leader that can bring our nation together and restore America’s moral leadership in the world,” said Richardson — Bill Clinton’s former Secretary of Energy and United Nations Ambassador — in a statement. “As a presidential candidate, I know full well Sen. Obama’s unique moral ability to inspire the American people to confront our urgent challenges at home and abroad in a spirit of bipartisanship and reconciliation.”

    Major Kool-Aid swallowed there, lol.

BTW, Axelrod’s trying to pin the Wright flap on the Clintons is total bullshit. No one from her campaign has said a single word about this. I’m sick of this crap from them.

  6. Hi Chris, I don’t think I’ve run across your posts here before, so I’d just like to acknowledge you for the first time. 🙂

    ADMIN…great post!

  7. BO’s campaign seems to be unraveling, and they are becoming more desparate. How in the heck can they begin to pin the Wright incident on Clinton??? Fox has the tapes, BO sat in those pews for 20 years and contributed financially to the church. They are nuts. I hope, people are not believing this.

  8. Great post, Admin.!

As far as Richardson’s timing…lol…doesn’t matter. Obama’s people are trying to distance themselves from the Wright debacle. Fox is just going to keep coming at them. Richardson is news for 20 seconds only and will get swept under the carpet by more and more Obama scandals.

  9. I also think Edwards will endorse Hillary if he endorses anyone. It makes sense to have that closer to the NC primary, however.

  10. “As a presidential candidate, I know full well Sen. Obama’s unique moral ability to inspire the American people to confront our urgent challenges at home and abroad in a spirit of bipartisanship and reconciliation”

Uh huh….and the clouds will part, the sun will beam down, and celestial choirs will start singing…

  11. How in the heck can they begin to pin the Wright incident on Clinton??? Fox has the tapes, BO sat in those pews for 20 years and contributed financially to the church. They are nuts.

The stupidest thing about them coming out with the pic of the Batshit Crazy Rev, and Big Dawg is that…ummm…HRC didn’t dish the reverend dirt. Hannity did that. Dig up a pic of the crazy rev and Hannity, then we’ll talk. 🙄

  12. Honestly guys, when ever I speak with people about politics of late, everybody talks about J/wright–the bullfrog—and the typocal white person statement. thats what has been the talk since last Friday…what about you guys..whats the 411 in your conversations?

  13. Last thread there were lots of questions about why Obama chose Wright’s church, why he chose Chicago….

I think the pieces of the answer are in Obama’s book DREAMS and in the “Unlikely Education” profile I keep posting, and in some other profiles from before the press got the koolaid.

Obama was raised by his white family and in spite of being raised in supportive multi-race, multi-ethnic situations and schools, felt resentment and focused it on the white family. He wished he’d been raised in a family the same color he was. He went looking for Blacks to belong to.

His white grandparents financed his education in a fancy school in Hawaii where race was not a problem (and not much a problem in the whole ‘Aloha’ state). So when he could go anywhere in the world to work, he researched and found Chicago so as to connect with the, er, typical Black experience. Also he idealized the marches and persecutions of the 60s; “He wanted to join the club.”

While he was still in school he listened to Wright’s tapes. He chose Wright’s church BECAUSE of Wright’s attitude. (Not saying he knew about the worst of Wright’s statements, which may have come more recently.)

More common versions of Christianity hadn’t appealed to him. WRight’s ‘Jesus was Black, African Liberation Theology’ was the first religion that connected with him, that made him believe.

    For a look at his relationship with his white grandparents,see h t t p : / /isteve.blogspot.com/2008/03/obama-throws-his-own-living-grannie.html
Steve Sailor quotes a story from Obama’s memoir, which shows Obama’s white grandfather displaying some shocking liberal guilt (and dysfunctionally dumping it on a 17-year-old Obama).

For more detail about his choosing Chicago and what he did there, see http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/Articles/bobamasunlikelypoliticaledu.html

  14. Obama is pushing a photo of Bill Clinton shaking hands with Rev. Wright. This was given to the New York Times. The NYT has confirmed it was the Obama campaign.

How pathetic. How despicable. How very very very very DESPERATE! 🙂

This is good news, they know this is the end, just a matter of where “the end” ends. lol

As for Richardson, put his name in that book Hill and break his back when you are 44. That traitor, he wouldn’t have *any* power if Bill had not given him the power. Also he is a traitor in more ways than one. His state voted for Hill, guess that is another endorsement that Bambi will have to explain why he doesn’t mind disenfranchising the voters, AS LONG AS THE DISENFRANCHISED ARE HILLARY’s.

  15. Guys,
I want to get your thoughts on the upcoming contests. I see HRC winning PA by double digits, taking WV, Kentucky, and Puerto Rico. I think she can keep it close in NC. The only question I have is Indiana. Demographically its like Ohio but its also close to IL.

  17. Great post, admin.

It’s pretty ironic that BO’s campaign should blather about SDs representing their state and then accept and brag on Richardson.

  18. Kaffeen,

Obama is a gift that keeps on giving. By trying to equate his 20 year association with Wright to a handshake
with Bill Clinton at a meet and greet event, Obama has not only exposed himself as a fool but has also energized
    Hillary supporters even more.

We are even more committed to electing Hillary and stopping this unqualified neophyte from getting anywhere close to
the nomination let alone the presidency.

  19. ALSO DID YOU ALL SEE THE LATEST FEBRUARY FINANCIAL REPORTS?

Obama has more money in the bank than Hillary.

    We have to keep CONTRIBUTING.

  21. OBAMA CAMP TRYING TO WORK THE REFS

    From NBC’s Mark Murray
With so much attention on the NCAA basketball tournament — even among the presidential contenders — the analogy is perhaps more apt than ever: After a week of tough press scrutiny, the Obama campaign is trying to work the refs to even out the coverage.

  22. They really seem big on shopping photos around.

If I were them I’d try to stay away from “guilt by association” photos. Just saying

With so much attention on the NCAA basketball tournament — even among the presidential contenders — the analogy is perhaps more apt than ever: After a week of tough press scrutiny, the Obama campaign is trying to work the refs to even out the coverage.

    Bwahahaha. Unbelievable.

  24. tps … don’t worry, Hillary supporters have her back. Obama is spending 1.5 million a day, soon that will all tap out.

  25. They really seem big on shopping photos around.

In my mind I imagine a vault hidden in the bowels of some secret cave in the Nevada desert.

“Uh oh, the Tony Rezko shit has come to light! Quick, to the photo vault!”

  26. It certainly did not seem John Lewis felt this way about the aa vote, from what he said a few days ago. I hope AAs call BO’s bluff on this one. It’s completely divisive.

Idunn, remember Chris Matthews “eunuch chorus” remark? Well, add Richardson to what I call The Tinkerbell Chorus.

Seriously, compare and contrast the endorsement statements of Hillary’s endorsers and Obama’s. Most of hers are very hard-nosed, practical acknowledgements of real facts. What she has DONE. What they have seen and experienced in their years working with her. Sane, practical reasons why they believe she can DO THE JOB of POTUS and Commander-in-Chief.

Obama’s endorsements? OMG, purple prose! Just read them all! Almost without exception they are airy fairy speculations of how he will heal our souls, sprinkle love and understanding to the seven seas, buy the world a Coke and a smile, and beam the benevolence of the gods on our shameful past. Unity ponies, glitter and rainbows.

    They are the Tinkerbell Chorus.

  28. Doesn’t it seem like, the wheels started coming off in Ohio? Since then, it seems like it has been one scandal after another. If it had been Hillary, she would be toast.

  29. Obama’s endorsements? OMG, purple prose! Just read them all! LMAO! Kinda makes you want to grab a baseball bat and go hunt down a hippy, don’t it? 😉

  30. Obama Camp Ratchets Up Attacks on Clinton

    By Jonathan Weisman
PORTLAND, Or. — The Obama campaign fired off what may be its most aggressive broadside yet on Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s honesty this morning, with campaign manager David Plouffe issuing a diatribe on what they called her “history of misleading voters,” then declaring on a conference call, “The American people simply are not going to elect someone who they think are not honest and trustworthy.”

The nerve of these people. Wow. Obambi is the BIG PHONY.

  31. Okay, I said this at the end of the old thread, but I want to say it again because I haven’t seen the media address it at all.

On a different note, I’d like to take this opportunity to say that while I’m no fan of Condoleezza Rice, the name-calling by Reverend Wrong was dripping with some EXTREME misogyny which I found profoundly insulting. Why exactly does the Reverend get a pass on that? If Don Imus bears condemnation for what he said about black women (and I think we can all agree that he does), why doesn’t the Reverend have to endure the same scrutiny?

Why is it okay for the B.O. campaign to look for a racist around every corner (and for the media to assist them), but RANK MISOGYNY IS A COMPLETE FREEBIE?! I sort of expect it from Chris Matthews, but is everyone else really that blind?

  32. More hot air.

Hillary is as trustworthy as anybody I’ve ever seen in politics, or anywhere else, for that matter.

  33. Richardson endorsed B.O?? What a betraying SOB! And to think I use to like him and respect him.. No MORE! No big loss.. Hillary doesn’t need him anyway!

  34. “The American people simply are not going to elect someone who they think are not honest and trustworthy.”

So Plouffe thinks McCain is gonna win this thing too, huh?

  35. Morning all,

Nice post this morning, admin 🙂

Here is a letter from a Vermont paper:

    Time to stop bashing Clinton

    March 19, 2008

After reading the paper yesterday and today there is no longer any doubt in my mind that the Rutland Herald has joined with other segments of the media in the frenzied bashing of Sen. Hillary Clinton. Have the editors read the words in their own masthead which reference justice, moderation and temperance? I think the Herald’s editorial staff have not read these words or do not understand or care what they mean. It is one thing to tout Sen. Obama as the better candidate; it is quite another to bash Sen. Clinton in a frenzied and inflammatory editorial. The innuendo that Ms. Ferraro’s comments really represent a Clinton strategy seems to this reader to move in the direction of a libelous statement.

Today’s editorial added insult to injury after two columns which appeared in yesterday’s paper. First was a commentary by Susan Davidson who cites stories of unknown origin that, she says, demonstrate Clinton’s autocracy. Who is Ms. Davidson? Is she a Washington insider with numerous stories in her data base? The most striking statement in Davidson’s piece was her reference to Obama as conciliator. Perhaps he is. But many of the people who support him, Susan Davidson included, are far from conciliatory. If Sen. Obama is trying to bring us together, he should know that many of his supporters are working very hard to drive us apart.

The second unfortunate piece in yesterday’s paper was the column by the always tasteless Maureen Dowd. In a few lines Dowd manages to bash several people; only David Letterman and Mr. Obama seem to emerge somewhat unscathed. Most of Dowd’s comments are beyond the pale, except for 10 lines toward the end. In these lines, Dowd quotes Ms. Ferraro’s comments, which really can be summarized by saying that Senator Obama is currently a phenomenon. Then Dowd writes, “Obama acknowledged when he arrived in the Senate that he got more attention, his big book deal, and his celebrity because he is not white. He was only the third black senator elected since Reconstruction.” Thank you, Maureen Dowd, for these words, they support what Ferraro was probably trying to say.

To the Rutland Herald: Give us a break from the bashing. In Rutland County 44 percent of voters in the recent Democratic primary voted for Sen. Hillary Clinton and we do not appreciate your unbalanced approach to this campaign.

  37. A great post from Jerome Armstrong of MyDD on the impact of Wright on people’s opinions of Obama:

    Behind but not beyond
by Jerome Armstrong, Fri Mar 21, 2008 at 07:38:52 AM EST

Michael Meyers, Obama blew it, really nails it, on what Obama has missed making happen, not only in his speech, but in his campaign message about race:

I waited in vain for our hybrid presidential candidate to speak the simple truth that there is no such thing as “race,” that we all belong to the same race — the human race. I waited for him to mesmerize us with a singular and focused appeal to hold all candidates to the same standards no matter their race or their sex or their age. But instead Obama gave us a full measure of racial rhetoric about how some of us with an “untrained ear” — meaning whites and Asians and Latinos — don’t understand and can’t relate to the so-called black experience.

…I expected Obama, who up to now had been steering a perfect course away from the racial boxes of the past, to challenge racial labels and so-called black experiences. We’re all mixed up, and if we haven’t yet been by the process of miscegenation, trans-racial adoptions and interracial marriage, we sure ought to get used to how things will be in short order.

We can’t get there soon enough.

The speech Obama recently gave on racial division has not quickly reversed the damage the Wright association has done. At best, it hardened the reaction, at worst it inflicted even more damage to Obama. According to a Insider Advantage (a shout-out for their Texas polling in the primary) poll, done March 19th.

First, IA says that 82% knew about Obama’s speech, and about the controversy surrounding the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. That’s remarkable, in this day and age of media fragmentation, and that sort of saturation means it’s basically reached every voter in some form or another.

The coverage of this has been bubbling up in the rightwing blogosphere over the past year. But once the “God damn America” video clip hit the wire on ABCNews the morning of the 13th, all hell was unleashed through the rightwing blogosphere, the rightwing talk radio, Fox News and WSJ– the modern day conservative propoganda machine in action. Obama, who has never personally experienced the onslaught of the rightwing smear, came out the next night with a response, to try and finish it off on a Friday night. No such luck. It raged on over the internet all weekend, and then re-emerged even stronger on Monday. The speech by Obama, hastily written for Tuesday night, did not change opinions.

Among those aware of the situation and the speech, 52 percent are less likely to vote for Obama, up slightly from 49 percent of among all voters. None of the polls demographics (pdf) jump on either side. Blacks, Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Whites, are all less likely to support Obama now. Just 19 percent are more likely to support Obama (thats his floor), and 27 percent feel the same about Obama.

IA is right, saying: “The disturbing numbers for Obama are the independent voters. By 56% to 13%, they said they’re less likely to vote for him because of the speech.” He may have lost a big chunk of what got him this far. Clinton has been beating Obama among Democrats all along and only through having Independents supporting him in the primaries and caucuses, is Obama leading. It’ll be a month before we see voting again, and any sort of confirmation of how this plays out in the long-term.

There are those who hold the mis-guided opinion that only paranoid holdouts believe that Clinton has a shot at getting the nomination. Maybe they will go into cahoots with Al Giordano’s Plan B, a Abbie Hoffman wannabee that hopes to see the ’08 Democratic convention turn out like ’68, and plans on “sitting it out” if Clinton does win the nomination– there’s your nutty paranoid holdout. Calm, this has a long ways to go.

Neither candidate will win enough pledged delegates to win the nomination through that route. By the end of the primary calendar, its very likely that both of the candidates will be able to point to scenarios whereby they lead by either the popular or the delegate count, and the super-delegates will eventually decide their votes. I don’t expect that the nomination will be concluded until August.

    http://www.mydd.com/

  38. Ugh, B.O is such a pitiful candidate.. If the Dems nominate him we will be be saying President McCain for the next four years. Hillary can and will beat McCain easily!

  39. @ plural:

He calls her either “Condo-skeeza” or else something that sounds like the “c-word”-skeeza.

Either one of which is the kind of sexual invective that is beyond inappropriate from a PASTOR in a church, much less from the advisor and mentor of a future president.

  40. Good morning Hillfans.

This is by far the most peculiar label for Obama yet — “our hybrid presidential candidate” — depending on what meaning you might want to apply.

It’s a really nice way to say FAKE.

  41. The best thing about all this shit coming out about Bambi, is that it’s NOT coming from either McCain or HRC. Without someone to blame, other than himself, for his problems, Bambi is a fish out of water, gasping for a gulp of air.

  42. The Obama campaign is coming unhinged with its over the top attacks on Hillary today.

They are very angry at the punding they have taken in the last week-and-a-half, their best laid plans have failed, and the country
    knows the true Obama now.

He tried to hide it, he tried to fool us, like a chameleon but the truth came out.

Now they are flailing and swinging wildly with incredibly personal attacks.

  43. This is a great piece on warm, human Hillary from IN:

    http://www.tribstar.com/opinion/local_story_080235028.html?keyword=secondarystory

“She listened to questions, thought about answers and engaged in a way that belies the astronomical number of times she has been queried and grilled about every element of her existence.

Over and over, local journalists remarked on her “surprising” warmth, natural manner and graciousness.

But, hey, what do we know? We don’t hang out on Capitol Hill, dine with presidential aides or call members of Congress by their nicknames. We’’re just everyday people who live in “fly-over country,” Terre Haute, Indiana, one of a zillion stops on the long, grueling campaign trail of Hillary Clinton.”

  44. TPS,
I love Jerome Armstrong! Not just because he supports Hill, but he’s been one of the few bloggers on the left that’s actually been right. He gives reasoned and thoughtful analysis. I think he’s one of the reasons MYDD hasn’t turned into a cesspool like kos. Also, neither BO or HRC can win the nom without the superdelegates. Having a lead in pledged delegates doesn’t mean squat for either candidate & a popular vote lead without FL and MI is worthless too.

  45. Hey Idunn,

Not too many posts, just a few. Just can’t fathom that this country wants an evangelical POTUS! I know we are all frustrated with GWB, and want change, but this guy is ridiculous! The reality is that he is very much like Bush…..instead of Rove, The Carlyle Group and Halliburton, BHO has Axelrod, Rezko, and Wright.

  46. Idunn,

I guess Obama was against personal attacks before he was for it, LOL.

By the by, I am not surprised that even the biased media is laughing at Obama for releasing that
    picture. Total amateur hour.

  47. Idunn Says:

    March 21st, 2008 at 11:32 am
I want to have Howard Wolfsons babies.

That might hurt your hubby’s feelings. 🙁

  48. Just got back for a few minutes and tuned to talk radio on pc and some A$$wipe is talking about how Rev. Manning (Iguess of NY) makes Wright sound conservative and since Manning represents HRC and Wright represents BO, it’s clear HRC is far more . . . . . (lost the feed. . . I assume it’s extreme, or MILITANT or something.”

Indiana pics and video up on HRC’s site are FANTASTIC! Some people waited 8 hours to get in to the event.

How can we make BO disappear????????

  49. Is Manning Hill’s spiritual advisor? Does she attend his church everyday for 20 years? Did she name her book after him?

  50. TPS:By the by, I am not surprised that even the biased media is laughing at Obama for releasing that
    picture.

The obama camp is so used to getting a pass from the media, they thought this would work.

  51. Oh, I forgot to mention this:

On that CSPAN panel discussion I was watching last night, the moderator asked someone (former something or other in the BC admin.) whether Hillary supported nafta privately or not. He said that not only did HRC have her doubts about it, but raised such far reaching thoughts about what it might bring in the future, that he’s now amazed that EVERYONE couldn’t see it.

    That’s my girl!

  52. I’m not surprised at Richardson’t endorsement of Obamalamadingdong. If he was going to endorse Hillary he would have done it long ago. He waited until he found the guts to turn on her and endorse her opponent. We’ve all heard that some endorsements don’t matter much, and I’m sure his is one of those. She already won his state.

How can they begin to pin the Wright matter on Hillary? Simple. She was his proxy to listen to all of those “sermons”. That’s the only reason that would make any sense. The dumbshits!

So, Bill had his photo taken with Wright. He shook hands with a lot of people, many of them who got through the “kook filter”. They are really scraping the bottom of the barrel to use this stuff. Must be desperate.

I keep seeing posts about “the next big scandal to be revealed soon”. I have no idea what that might be, so I’m not going to wait for one. There is already enough reason to not vote for that guy, and I can only hope the American people are smart enough to see it. If not, we will deserve what we get – again.

Dot48 posted we will see the real explosion next week. I have no idea what that might be, but it’s okay because, as I said, there is enough already.

I’m also not going to wait for the MSM to finally stop drinking the kool-aid and begin to treat Hillary fairly. If she wins, and I think she will, it will have to be in spite of them.

  53. nikki22, Jerome is one of the pioneers of the liberal blogosphere and is one of the few who has been fair to Hillary.
He has been level headed and thoughtful.

  54. Idunn Says:

Well, there you go. She was also far ahead on universal health care. The woman is a visionary and a pioneer.

  55. Sherm,

Richardson’s support if it had come before New mexico and Texas might have helped Obama. It is too late now.
All this means is that Obama has promised Richardson V.P. spot if he were to be the nominee.

Understandably, Hillary won’t make any such promises to Richardson.

All this does is give the Obama loving big media to go crazy for a couple of days. Just like they went crazy
    over his speech.

Real people in the country ddin’t care much for his speech (see my post from MyDD above).

Their reaction to this endorsement would be “Bill, who?”

  56. The Richardson endorsement is not a surprise at all. All you have to do is remember his interview with Wolf Blitzer – who asked him him about his endorsement pledge (to endorse the winner of his state). At which point, the Gov. squirmed and back-peddled.

The man is dishonest and cowardly.

    Que Sera, Sera.

  57. I like that man’s piece about the revotes. However, Hill was for a revote in both states. It was the leg that couldn’t decide. He’s also wrong about the “tightening”. There is no polling sto suggest Hill wouldn’t win again by about 17 points. Indeed, given FL demographics, it’s likely she would.

  58. does anyone have Murtha’s and Lewis’s email addresses? For Lewis, I have just a nice email I want to send him.

  59. LATEST RASMUSSEN POLL: OBAMA’s UNFAVORABILITY RATINGS CONTINUING TO RISE

    Daily Presidential Tracking Poll

    Friday, March 21, 2008

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows Likely Democratic Primary Voters evenly divided the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination. Nationally, Barack Obama now holds a statistically insignificant one-point advantage over Hillary Clinton, 45% to 44%. Before the story broke about his former Pastor, Obama led Clinton by eight percentage points. Today’s results are identical to those just before Obama’s Tuesday morning speech (see recent daily results).

Nationally, 51% of all Likely Voters said that speech was good or excellent. Just 21% said poor. However, 56% remain concerned about Obama’s relationship with Pastor Jeremiah Wright. See Obama’s Speech.

On Friday, Obama’s favorable ratings remain little changed from recent days—48% favorable, 50% unfavorable. Before the Pastor Problem became big news, Obama was viewed favorably by 52%. One month ago, he was viewed favorably by 56%. The number with a Very Unfavorable opinion of Obama has increased from 26% a week ago to 33% today.

  60. I was such a fierce baby that I will give him the pics!

Not neccesary…Bambi already has your pic buried in the underground vault. In fact, I think your pic is filed somewhere between the pic of John Edwards in drag and the pic of Condi Rice and David Duke making out at Applebees.

  61. mj,

Please don’t get the wrong impression of my posts.
I write that stuff so people on forum know the other BS that’s out there and so it doesn’t surprise them. I get the feeling you seem to think I BELIEVE this BS.

Absolutely NOT TRUE! I give everyone on this forum the same benefit of the doubt I assume is extended to me; that we’re here BECAUSE we can’t be BAMBOOZLED, OKIE_DOKIED or HOODWINKED.

  62. TPS, I had hoped Richardson would endorse HRC when it would matter. When he didn’t I gave up on him. I agree it doesn’t reallly matter now. I also suspected he was waiting for some kind of promise of an important post in her administration. When he was being nice to her in the debates, she still looked like a sure thing. He was only trying to win favor with her.

I read your great post above. You have a lot of those.

  63. Electoral College – Hillary +63; Obama -50
by DaveOinSF, Thu Mar 20, 2008 at 04:53:48 PM CST

So I’ve updated Survey USA’s Electoral College prediction based on updated results in 15 states. The results:

    Hillary Clinton 294
    John McCain 231
    Tie 13

    John McCain 288
    Barack Obama 238
    Tie 12

    http://www.mydd.com/story/2008/3/20/175348/733

  64. Sorry MJ. Guess I’m just SUPER-sensitive, like many others here.

Your comments made me think you thought I DIDN”T realize “Manning isn’t Hill’s spiritual advisor. She didn’t attend his church everyday for 20 years. SHe didn’t name her book after him.”

That was the point of the post. The comparison between Manning and Wright is ABSURD!

  65. Fox just said Hillary’s passport info was breached in 2007.

Oh my god….nooooooooo!! What are we gonna do? What are we gonna DO???!!

    😉

  66. The ONLY thing BO inspires in me is something I thought I never had.

Utter loathing of the DNC and a propensity for learning new swear words

  67. bwahahaha.. Poor bambi. passport-gate is dead.

Yeah, but they STILL have that damning pic of WJC and the batshit crazy Rev. to fall back on. 😉

  68. Fuck all that passport stuff!

Just release all that data to the public in a transparent way!

    GO ON HILL!

We know what you looked like since you were a baby.

If you show me yours, I will show you mine!!!!

  69. Passport-gate went nowhere for BO – except to show that he is a crybaby.

His leaked picture got laughed at.

So, I wonder what’s next in his mud-slinging…

  70. So will Bambi come out and condemn the fact that Hillary’s passport was looked at as well?

    No…I didn’t think so!

  71. Idunn, if u look in that picture, Al Gore is in the background LOL.

Great…now I have to start trashing the environment. I can’t support that Bigot Al Gore in any way. 🙁

  72. Now I’m starting to think that Al invented the internet with the intention of bring the black man down. 🙁

    This is just awful.

  73. Bill Clinton Heads to North Carolina to Tap Old Political Support on Wife’s Behalf
    by FOXNews.com
    Friday, March 21, 2008

Hillary Clinton is spending Easter weekend at home in Chappaqua, N.Y., taking three days off before heading into the final weeks of primary campaigning, with must-win Pennsylvania in her sights.

But the New York senator’s campaign is not on total weekend hiatus. The candidate’s husband, former President Bill Clinton, is spending Friday in North Carolina, another key state on the shrinking nomination calendar. He’ll be holding two events there, one with veterans and another with senior citizens.

There are 115 delegates up for grabs on May 6 in North Carolina. It’s the second-biggest remaining prize next to Pennsylvania, where Clinton and Barack Obama will fight for 158 delegates on April 22.

Local news reports indicate Bill Clinton will be tapping old political ties in the Tar Heel State. Clinton state campaign director Ace Smith said the former president’s 1992 and ‘96 campaign networks are still strong, according to WRAL.com.

“You’re going to see them a lot, and you’re going to see lots of surrogates from all over the country and you’re going to see an awful lot of homegrown support,” Smith said.

North Carolina also is the home state of John Edwards, who holds the last big Democratic endorsement up for grabs following Bill Richardson’s defection to the Obama camp on Friday. There were no reports that the former president and former vice presidential candidate planned to meet on Friday.

Click here to read the WRAL.com report.

  74. That’s really funny about how passport-gate died a natural death. BHO just can’t seem to make any of his outrageous charges against Hillary stick. Lots of charges are sticking to him though.

  75. Via The Page:

Clinton Senate office statement says candidate had been contacted by
Rice to say her passport file was breached in 2007.

NBC News also says they’ve confirmed McCain’s has been breached as well.

[And Fox News adds that Bill Clinton’s was breached in 1992 when he
    was a presidential candidate.]

  76. You know I wonder if Hillary’s mom might be ill. 3 days off….

I heard her talk during the WV rallye about folks with dimentia and she sounded like she had real hands on knowledge of it.

Notice her mom has not been seen since January.

  77. dot48,

It’s the Easter Holiday and besides she needs a break (catch up on sleep, rest her voice, and just relax).

  78. Poor Keithee NOT. *where is Lorraine Bobbitt when you need her* however, from what I’ve heard she’d have to hunt with a microscope 😆

  79. Saw this on MyDD:
    http://www.mydd.com/bb

Representatives Murtha and Bob Brady Endorse Clinton (Oreo)

An article in Forbes breaks an endorsement for Clinton that isn’t being reported anywhere else.

…recent endorsements by Congressmen John Murtha and Robert Brady could help Clinton hold onto her substantial advantage through primary day.

Representatives Tim Holden and Michael Doyle, both close allies of Murtha, may not be far behind. Clinton has picked up 3 superdelegate endorsements this week including Pat Maroney of WV

  80. Here is my response to Dan Martins piece in 411 mania suggesting that Hillary is damaging Obama and ultimately the party. As you may know Hillary’s campaign asked us to respond and we shall now see whether it gets printed.

When a self-described 1992 campaign volunteer, tennis contributor and Kentucky Colonel like Dan starts his usual shilling for Obama this is the kind of nonsense you get. First of all, Hillary believes the people in Florida, Michigan and the remaining states have a right to vote and be counted. Obama does not. Second, Hillary as an absolute right to define the differences between herself vs. Obama. It is important to the country that she do so since main stream media will not. Third, Obama is the one who has tried to damage Hillary by his cynical race baiting tactics. (See Race Man by Professor Sean Wilentz). Fourth, Obamas enduring relationship with Racist Reverend Wright, Political Fixer Rezko, Weatherman Ayers are all self-inflicted wounds. Put differently, Obama is the one who is damaging Obama. Comprende? Fifth, this is not some rock video Dan, it is reality. Thus, if the party nominates Obama it will lose the general election—get that through your head. Sixth, in the meantime do everyone a favor and stick to tennis.

  81. What the media is HAVING to report now though is the fact that Obama is NOT drawing core democrat voters. His main strength has been repubs and independents who voted against Hillary by voting for him.

The base has put the word out to the indys and repubs and they shifted balance ..

PA will show that Obama is maybe just the AA candidate.

That is why working on GOTV in PA is important.

I’m calling this afternoon into Pennsylvania and I encourage everyone else who can donate a couple of hours to do so.

We could mount a campaign ourselves right her to make PA the biggest turnout for Hillary EVER.

I sense the real push will start next week. She’ll most likely be getting some more endorsements and she’ll make the final push.

    We’re gonna win this thing

  82. I’m confused. How is it possible that the State Department found out some months ago that Hillary’s passport information was accessed, but none of it came out until today? How is it possible that Obama’s passport was tampered with at a later date and a red flag came up immediately so it was front page news? Why didn’t a red flag come out when this happened to Hillary? Why wasn’t it news then?

  83. I’ve completed my first “Hot Topics” post at Taylor Marsh. It’s my first written commentary other than on here. I was too shy to post before but today’s Mark Halperin post has set me over the edge. My hot topic is “Answer to Mark Halperin “Painful Things Hillary Knows” Feel free to give feedback or criticisms as I’m new to this and want to learn how to make a good case for our gal….

  84. Jan, I actually recall hearing something about this in January. It mat be the two were just recently fired. He’s just trying to stir up sympathy, IMO.

  85. I am kind of confused here but what is the big deal about passports being breached? I mean, all it has t is the date of birth, your picture and countries you went to right? Why was this breaking news yesterday? MSM need to focus on the real issues, such as how Bambi lacks judgement with his 20+ years association with Wright.

  86. So will there be outrage by Olberman et al that Hillary too was a victim in passportgate?

I doubt very much that she will get the same press…sigh…

  87. I read yesterday on this thread that MSNBC reported that the BO campaign leaked the passport thing to them.

Now this morning NYT’s reports that the Bill Clinton photo with Wright was released to them by BO campaign.

So, what is Richardson -another distraction. I bet this guy was in BO’s pocket already just waiting for the right moment to endorse, and then, BO says, quick I need a distraction, and so Richardson fell on his sword at this time.

  88. Jan, the Yahoo headline is “Obama, Clinton passports breached”, so no, I don’t think there will be faux outrage as there was for BO, but this blew up in his face.

  89. I heard her talk during the WV rallye about folks with dimentia and she sounded like she had real hands on knowledge of it.

HRC is a co-chair of the Congressional Task Force on Alzheimer’s Disease

  90. mj, he really must be thinking that americans are fools… what a pathetic looser…
so if it is obama/richardson ticket… so all white people have to vote them and leave to EUROPE or what.. am not getting at all…

  91. I met one of Hill’s former elderly policy people in NH. She said Hill is the only sitting Senator with a team devoted to elderly issues. She has revolving group of policy people to work on these issues.

  92. morning,

i see peoples passports everyday, i’ve seen ‘stars’ passports and cabinet member passports, whats the big deal?
    thats what they’re there for…

as for richardson, i am glad he is obamas man now, not one of you can say he didnt make an ass out of himself at every single debate…
i suppose the fact that there are a number of latinos in oregon, might help, might not, depending…

  93. well I wonder if Condi gonna do a press conference and address Hillary’s. She had to give face time to whiney baby

  94. Forget bloated Richardson. He’s just a sexist pig. He’s probably jealous of Hill because the latinos love her.

By the way, where the heck is Hawk lately?

  95. not one of you can say he didnt make an ass out of himself at every single debate…

::nods and mumbles with mouth full of yogurt::

    mmmm hmmm…yep…mmmm hmmm

  96. haha, MJ, he probably is jealous, she got the Latino vote even when he was in the race, that’s how big of a NON-influential loser he is, he is good for about 1/4 of a day’s good headlines that most people skip over!

  97. And when he did that gay/lesbian panel with Melissa Etheridge, and couldn’t even seem to grasp the questions he was being asked. 🙄

  98. Limbaugh’s Jeremiah was a bullfrog parody and a couple of thers.

    Jeremiah was a bigot
Was a good friend of mine
I never understood a single word he said
But I helped him a-with his whine
And he always bitched some mighty fine whine
    Singin’…
    Joy to the world
All minority boys and girls now
Dump all the whities in the deep blue sea
    Joy to you and me
” Habitual offenders, scumbag lawyers with agendas
I’ll tell you sometimes people I don’t know what’s worse
Natural disasters or these wolves in sheep clothes pastors
Now damn it I’m scared to send my children to church
And how can we seek salvation when our nations race relations
Got me feeling guilty of being white”

    Liberals love to sing:
    “God damn America.
    Land that I loathe.
    Let’s spit on her,
    and defile her…”

  99. mj, Now the headline is, “Clinton, McCain, Obama passports breached,” lol.

Remember last night how Fineman and Ogreman said this was “huge”? What dipshits.

BTW, here’s part of what’s in that Clinton campaign memo:

Third, accuse our campaign of having something to do with Senator Obama’s passport file being breached, a reckless charge that has zero merit.

    Those fucktards.

  100. BHO camp new politics

    politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/03/21/obama-camp-says-clinton-deeply-flawed/#comments

  101. I think Chelsea’s taking a break from campaigning, too. Haven’t heard about her on the trail for a week or so. She deserves a break. 🙂

Also, great news about the Brady endorsement in PA. It was expected several other SDs from PA would back Hillary once Murtha did. Nice to see that starting.

  102. HRC doing an event in Los Angeles, April 3, with “special guests” – I bought tickets, I hope it’s Barbra Streisand singing a song….anyway, the host committee itself includes Kathy Najimy, Debra Messing, Sally Field, Jamie Lee Curtis, Rob Reiner and Wife, Barbra Streisand, Mary Steenburgen and Ted Danson, Brad Whitford, and a bunch of very well respected Hollywood producers.

  103. When will the MSM admit BO is Chicago politics as usual?

When monkeys fly out of thier asses and deliver the newspaper.

  104. See this VIDEO of Obama’ words on Wright juxtaposed against his words on Don Imus:

    marcambinder.theatlantic.com/archives/2008/03/the_latest_antiobama_video_cir.php

  105. I think it’s nice that with the Wright fiasco that every time someone is in a townhall and BO is talking that they’re thinking about Wright. Everytime, he talks about judgment, they think about the “Wright” judgment. Everytime BO questions HRC’s honesty, they’re thinking about Wright.

He now looks like a huge hypocrite and 82% of the public that knows about this Wright situation now will have it somewhere in the back of their minds.

  106. Isn’t that nice, meiyingsu. The politics of hope and unity, and non-character assasination. How sweet.

Ininla, I love all those people. So happy Grace supports our girl!

  107. yeah…BILL R will be sued by that woman in NM for harrassment!

    Sexist pig!

He is rather “SLOW”…if you know what I mean!…

  108. Since I do not waste my time with msnbc, I rely upon others to report that Don Juan Olberman and Sadsack Fineman tried to make a mountain out of a mole hill on the passport issue and it did not work.

Those two goons and their corporate masters have invested alot of hard and soft capital in Bambi and they are at risk of losing that investment in which case heads will roll. That is how GE does business.

  109. TPS – interesting description about that IMUS vs. WRIGHT double standard video on BO – and how Marc Ambinder describes who’s emailing it around: I’m comfortable posting this one because it (a) is being e-mailed around this morning by various high-level Republicans, making it newsworthy, and (b) is not beyond the pale or racist, so far as I can tell

  110. if hillary can make inroad to the rural voters and win NC, it will be huge. let’s work hard on that.

  111. nikki22 – I got it through some other people who have donated – was emailed to me. Are you in Los Angeles area, happy to email to you.

  112. Ininla, it is great video, we should post this everywhere and circulate it to friends and family.

Admin, thanks for making it easy for people to access.

  113. Off topic, but sometimes I’m just amazed at what an accurate tool astrology can be when it’s done accurately and responsibly. Of course, when it isn’t (which is most often the case), it’s just plain old snake oil. 😉

  114. lninla,
I was just curious because I hadn’t seen HRC do any big fundraising events lately. But now its seems like that’s changing w/ the Hollywood event & the Elton John concert.

  115. crossing my fingers still for Michigan – from Ambinder again:

A Faint Heart Beats In Michigan

    21 Mar 2008 12:35 pm

The state Democratic Party has decided to postpone the slating of its delegates, which had previously been scheduled for March 29. They’d do that only if they really intended to keep fighting for a new primary of some sort.

    SO –

c’mon Michigan Democrats – keep fighting for a revote. I wish the Unions would put together a huge demonstration and march for their votes to count – would draw the right media attention, and remind everyone that AA’s, women, latinos marched for their right to vote, and here Bambi is disenfranchising MI voters.

  116. if hillary can make inroad to the rural voters and win NC,

That’s most likely where my efforts will be concentrated. I’m on the East TN/NC border…so I imagine we’ll be hitting Boone, NC and the highlands area.

  117. ‘Ininla,
I heard on some morning show (probably FOX) that 80% of the American public know about Wright, who he is and what he said.
    Wbboei,
“Since I do not waste my time with msnbc, I rely upon others to report that Don Juan Olberman and Sadsack Fineman tried to make a mountain out of a mole hill on the passport issue and it did not work.”
    You’re welcome, wbboei. 😀
“Those two goons and their corporate masters have invested alot of hard and soft capital in Bambi and they are at risk of losing that investment in which case heads will roll. That is how GE does business.”
That’s what I think, too. Ogremann and company have that desperate deer-in-the-headlights look these days.

  118. I heard this in the morning radio talk show too,

“Those two goons and their corporate masters have invested alot of hard and soft capital in Bambi and they are at risk of losing that investment in which case heads will roll. That is how GE does business.”

  119. Idunn,

My mom is a big fan of astrology. I never much believed it. Well, maybe there is something to it.

  120. Basil,
I honestly haven’t had the time to look at it. Trying to get ready for my mother in law coming, starting seed before planting time, etc. etc. But I’m going to get off the computer right now, pick up the house and then drag out the emphemeris. I’ll try to post anything relevent later tonight, in a way that isn’t…umm…distracting, if you know what I mean. 😉

  121. Thanks, everyone for such good thoughts and writing today. Now, I, a “typical” working person, must get back to work…. go, Hillary!

  122. Before I go though, you guys give me some dates to check. I’m terrible about remembering what’s going on when. I’ll write them down and check them out tonight.

  123. It’s amazing how little intelligent political commentary is out there these days. I think Charlie Rose does a good job w/ his guests. Shockingly I’ve started to like Pat Buchanan, he & Craig Crawford are good on MSNBC. The FNC panels on weekdays and the weekend are good too- except for Kristol. Taylor Marsh has said that David Gregory’s new show is fair but I haven’t checked it out yet.

  124. I’ll pull up some numerology stuff.

Don’t be obvious about it though. Alot of people get antsy about stuff like that. (which I certainly understand) Slip it in as your personal intuition or something. 😉

  125. LA Times is reporting that Obama wants to keep rolling out endorsements between now and the Pennsylvania primary. I wonder how easy that will be for him to do considering his current troubles. He can’t offer everyone the vice-presidency.

  126. Great video, TPS – can you contact its creator? I think there’s a type-o shouldn’t it be April ’07 [followed by] April ’08?

  127. Shockingly I’ve started to like Pat Buchanan

What I like about my BFF Pat, and what I’ve always like about him, is that he usually just calls things the way he sees them. And he doesn’t back down or back track. He really believes what he says. Now, I don’t always agree with him, but you have to respect someone who sticks to their guns.

  128. only fools would endorse Obama right now. Nuff said.

They are gonna feel even more foolish in a couple more weeks.

Pelosi continues to eat shit from the toilet.

  129. OMG – y’all have to read the posts here:

    blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/03/edwards-still-n.html

Scroll down through the first few clearly posted by Obama’s paid Internet posters.

    Here is an example:

Obama didn’t offer Edwards Attorney General which is what he wanted, not vp. Therefore he didn’t endorse him. The Mexicans won’t follow Richardson to Obama, they can actually think for themselves. My neighbors are Hispanic, and their comment to this development is pretty much unprintable. Obama is running ads here, in the county with the single biggest illegal immigrant population of the US, that 40% of the black men are out of work in this country because the Mexicans came here and took the jobs away from them. I’m old enough to remember when there weren’t any Mexicans here, so I don’t know what their excuse for not working was then. There are enough legal Hispanics here as well, and they are registered Democrats, and I’m sorry, you want to talk racial divide, here in the South, it’s a bad between blacks and Hispanics as it is between blacks and whites. Richardson just figures this is a more direct route to the Presidency than actually running for it. If Richardson was anything to speak of, he’d still be in the campaign himself.

  130. He can’t offer everyone the vice-presidency.

Sure he can. All he has to do when push comes to shove is pick one and tell the rest they must have misundertood him. 😉

  131. make no mistake, the right wing mean machine is working overtime to undemine Hillary and assure that BHO is the nominee.

If you are angry at the bho camp, then be angry at the right wing as well. I would’nt put it past right wing to actively advise bho camp how best to knock her down or at the very least leak information to bho to use against her.

they know she would be difficult if not impossible to beat. There is very little about her that is unknown and they have very little in hand to beat her back with.

thats why you have all the nasty bloggers on all the sites that support BHO (you don’t think they’re all democrats do you?),
thats why you have judicial watch suing the pants off National Archives for any little tidbits they can use againsts her,
thats why the right wing media conglomerates cant find 10 seconds of air time for Hillary unless it’s bad news but can post bho on the news like some second coming of christ, 24/7.

Even when Hillary gets the nomination, none of this will stop. This is the way it will be
until Novemeber, and then when she gets the elected president it will be this way during her entire presidency.

We’re in for a long bumpy ride my friends. Politics, yes, dirty politics, at its finest.

I suggest that all of you see your doctors and get some blood pressure medication.

  132. he doesn’t get it, everytime he stands up there and “ministers” to people about hope and change .. they are gonna rerun the hate sermons from Jeremiah Wright. It’s like a film that doesn’t stop. He will not recover from this .. I don’t care how many backstabbers come out to ream it in to the Clinton again.

Just goes to show that the good ole boyz club in Washinton really doesn’t care about the people .. it’s all about their club.

Got news for them IF they don’t seat FL and MI before the convention there will be mass exit of Democrat voters. The anger is building .. read the net, talk to people. This is gonna explode.

Howard Dean deserves to have the holy shit kicked out of him. What leadership has he brought to this?

NONE, ZERO, NADA, ZILCH .. He’s gonna destroy the party just like he did his campaign.

  133. Don’t let BO and BM confuse you:

    The speech is just words.

The 20 year relationship is action.

    Common sense understands the difference.

And so do voters now that they know.

  134. Debbie says:I suggest that all of you see your doctors and get some blood pressure medication.

And I would add, some vitamin “P” (prozac, lol).

  135. Warning: Skip if this doesn’t interest you. A few observation of HWNSNBS.

  136. Guys,
Assuming that Edwards endorses Hill, I’ve heard a few people suggest him as a vp choice. I’m kinda on the fence about Edwards. He and Elizabeth seem like really warm, wonderful people. I like that JE built himself up from nothing & became a senator. Even though I was suspicious of his leftward turn for the 08 primaries he still seemed sincere about 80% of the stuff he said. But politically does he bring anything to the ticket? I know he didn’t put NC in play for Kerry. Any thoughts?

  137. okay,

you know me, i’m we bit slow (kinda like richarson),
anyway how come you can post videos, and i cant?

    whats the deal people?
i put the imbed in, and nothing happens…
    what the hells the secret?

  139. Hillary’s team is feeling really good right now. When you see the candidate take a few day off .. well, that speaks volumes. I don’t care if it is Easter holiday .. we know this is an important time. Today and Saturday could have been filled with rallyes and town halls..instead we see her relaxing for a bit

Next two weeks we are going to see some major change in this election. My gut isn’t wrong very often.

  140. i am actually thinking of how can republicans win this election.. am analyzing the electoral votes… hahaha.. last time kerry won OH & Michigan… these two will go to republicans this time around 🙂 am rush limbaugh’ follower now onwards .. rush limbaugh is blue collar american… 🙂

  141. i might add about edwards on the ticket, with the racial tension, i think if she picks a nice white person, sharpten and others will use the ‘cracker’ card…

  142. Rush is talking about JWright and ‘typical white person.’

He is making fun of Richardson’s endorsement and is saying that Obama must have offered VP to Richardson and
    Hillary must have said no.

He also says Obama looked beaten.

  143. Birdgal, “To attend the 8:00 a.m. VIP reception the cost will be $2, 300 per person and will include a picture with the Senator.” Let’s hope Wright doesn’t crash the Party. 😉

  144. Someone today said Laura Ingram(sp) was making reference to Rev. Wright and Hammas….. did anyone hear that program??? wanted to know more about the content.

  145. Edwards IMO would be a great Attorney General. VP — Evan Byah — he could help swing Indiana to our camp and with all the Ohio, Pa, Wv, Ky … we could win this thing big time.

However, the DNC HAS to be looking at the fact that BO is not carrying the voters or the states he needs in the GE. They tend to think that voters will just drop their signs and follow the nominee if he happens to be BO. They have NO idea what is happening in real America or how people feel. The DNC is totally out of touch with the base .. I really think they have a serious case of white guilt .. they want the AA NOW so they can say, well we tried. It will damage future AA candidates.

  146. skmf12,
Al Sharpton doesn’t tell black people in this country what to do. I know that’s hard to believe the way the MSM has annointed him and Jesse Jackson as the spokesmen for black america.

  147. Kentucky posting:Obama is running ads here, in the county with the single biggest illegal immigrant population of the US, that 40% of the black men are out of work in this country because the Mexicans came here and took the jobs away from them.
    ———————————————-
I hope someone is keeping a log of the racist strategems of the Obama campaign. The country can ill afford a DIVIDER like him.

  148. the states that MCcain is going to win for granted

    Alabama – 9
    Arizona – 10
    Arkansas – 6
    Georgia – 15
    Indiana – 11
    Lousiana – 9
    Michigan – 17
    Missouri – 11
    North Carolina – 15
    Ohio – 20
    Oklahoma – 7
    Pennsylvania – 21
    South Carolina – 8
    Tennesse – 11
    Kentucky –
    Utah – 5

  149. Ohio will go Democrat if Hillary is the nominee .. it won’t if BHO is. They will not forget NaftaGate.

  150. I think that Edwards probably would be a good Atty Gen.
Anyone care to make a list everyone who has had the VP dangled in front of them?

  151. Well new developments on that Dean and Nancy’s Congregrational meeting in Denver!

They were thinking of using a real donkey for bringing in a seated Obama on it…while REv Wright singing “GOD DAMN America/GOD BARACK AMERICA with the choir backed IL Congressionl team.

But they were afraid that the donkey may poop making the place even more STINKY!

So Gov Richardson offered to put on a suit of a donkey – i mean an ass – on which BO will be seated.

What a creative bunnch ..these Deans and Nancies!!!!

Yes donkey mascot is still alive…no change here needed in the DNC show!

  152. Pennsylvania can go Democrat if Hillary is the nominee…I believe.

Kentucky .. will lean Democrat if Hillary is the nominee.

  153. mj: LOL! I would love to attend one of the less expensive events. I’ll have to see, how it goes. Great to know, she has some wonderful fund raisers in her future. The Elton John concert should be big. 🙂

  154. 180 electoral votes so far…

and some more states where mccain wins

    Texas – 34
    Wyoming – 3
    Nebraska – 5
    Nevada – 5
    Florida – 27

this takes his total to 254… 🙂 john mccain the brave son of the soil, next president of USA 🙂

  155. Well, I don’t know…If Edwards is going to endorse Hill, then do it already. His online followers are mostly BO people, so I am sure he is getting an extreme amount of pressure.

  156. Transcript of LOU DOBBS interview with Shelby Steele an AA author:

Now, the full interview — including Lou Dobbs’ interestingly phrased and thought-out questions:

(I won’t indent the rest of this, for ease of reading.)

I’m joined now by Shelby Steele. Shelby Steele is senior research fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. He’s written a number of very important books on race on our society, a provocative book on Senator Obama “A Bound Man: Why we are excited about Obama and why he can’t win.”

Shelby Steele joins us live from Monterey, California tonight — Shelby, good to have you with us.

SHELBY STEELE, AUTHOR, “A BOUND MAN: WHY WE ARE EXCITED ABOUT OBAMA AND WHY HE CAN’T WIN”: Good to be here.

DOBBS: You wrote a fascinating piece in the op-ed section in “The Wall Street Journal”. Your observations are provocative. I want to begin, if I may, by asking what your reaction is to what Senator Obama said on that radio show in Philadelphia this morning.

STEELE: Well, he showed how easy it is to slip up, among other things because actually Jesse Jackson, interestingly, has confessed to walking to the other side of the street when he sees young black men as well. It’s not a response that’s exclusive to whites.

DOBBS: Right. And the idea of talking about this typical white person, that kind of language, I have to tell you I am struck by some of the missteps and what I consider to be missteps and misstatements of this senator. I honestly am not sure how fully formed and how mature Senator Obama’s views and thinking and emotions are on the issue of race himself, as he challenges the entire nation on the issue. What’s your reaction?

STEELE: Right. Well, he stayed away from race throughout his — I mean scrupulously throughout his entire campaign, but now he’s gotten into trouble with Jeremiah Wright, his pastor, so now we’re going to have a national discussion of race. And that may not be a good thing. It — you know President Clinton had a national discussion on race that went nowhere. So one wonders if this is sincere or just a way to sort of change the subject from his minister.

DOBBS: Well, I’ll tell you one thing. Shelby, I don’t know how you feel about it, but on this — on my broadcast, we’re going to be talking about race. We’re going to do so because I think it’s important. I mean, there are all sorts of issues to take up, but amongst them, whether it’s the war on drugs, whether it’s the fact that one in nine young black men in this country are in prison, whether it is the discrepancy between incomes amongst racial groups in this society. And certainly, the impact of that disparity in income, and the influence it has on opportunity within this society of ours. It’s a fundamental it seems to me to the American dream for all Americans.

STEELE: I absolutely agree. I just — I hope it will be a — there is no issue around which political correctness is more oppressive than the issue of race.

    DOBBS: Right.

STEELE: And so I’m all for dialogue, but I hope we’ll be — I hope we’ll all say politely, but say what we really think and feel about it.

DOBBS: Well, let me ask you, what do you think and feel about the relationship between black Americans, white Americans and other races in 2008 America?

STEELE: I think it’s never been better. I grew up in segregation. I can remember a drastically different America than the one I live in today. Today, my experience is that most whites are willing to give me the benefit of the doubt, and I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. And I’ve just found an enormous amount of openness, a willingness to look at this thing, this issue in an honest way. That’s been my actual experience.

DOBBS: I want to ask you, also, before I go to the next question, and that is Jeremiah Wright and his — the bile that he was spewing, whatever the reason, whatever the context, whatever else he did say, whatever else his words, that kind of language, a number of people on this broadcast, in fact, have said that some of his comments, some of the more hateful comments, in fact, are typical of the traditional black church in this country.

And I’ve got black friends who are saying that is absolutely untrue. There’s a contest over that. What role does a black church play in both resolving and perpetuating racial tension in this society of ours?

STEELE: Well, the black church has always been an extremely important institution in black America. Certainly, the civil rights movement evolved out of the black church. But that’s a long way from Reverend Wright who it seems to me is rather demagogic and actually preaches hate almost as a kind of consolation for his flock. And that is not normal in a black American church today. That’s not the norm.

DOBBS: And that being the case, this is going to be, I would assume, you think a problem that’s going to continue for some time for Senator Obama then to explain that relationship?

STEELE: Yes, Senator Obama is what I call a bargainer. Bargainers are blacks who enter the mainstream and give whites the benefit of the doubt, trust them, not to be racists. Whites respond to bargainers very warmly with a lot of gratitude.

Challenges are people like Reverend Wright who never give whites the benefit of the doubt, who want to hold their feet to the fire, see that as black power. Well, America likes Barack Obama because he is a bargainer, precisely because he is not an Al Sharpton or a Jesse Jackson or a Reverend Wright, so when they see that he has fellow traveled with someone like that, gone to his church for over 20 years, it confuses most Americans.

Are you a bargainer or are you a challenger? Do you trust us or don’t you trust us? And so it’s worrisome. It bothers people to see that kind of connection.

DOBBS: And we’re running out of time. I hope, Shelby, you’ll come back here as we continue this discussion on this broadcast. It just seems at a time when Americans have less trust than ever in their elected officials and government, it’s more critical than ever for us to start in this society, irrespective of race or religion, whatever, start giving one another, as you put it and I love the expression, the benefit of the doubt.

If we can start trusting each other, maybe we can get this government back to where we need it so that we can start delivering on the promise made to everybody, all Americans, some 200 years ago. Shelby Steele, it’s great to read your books.

    (CROSSTALK)

DOBBS: It’s great to talk to you. I hope you’ll come back soon.

STEELE: I’d be happy to anytime.

  157. and he can win following states when obama is nomineee

    NJ – 15
    Colorado – 9
    Kansas – 6
    Maine – 4
    Virginia – 13

okk go and figure out yourselves who is next president of USA 🙂

  158. He is making fun of Richardson’s endorsement and is saying that Obama must have offered VP to Richardson and Hillary must have said no.
    ———————————————
Many a truth is said in jest. She was open to Obama as her vp but the reverse was not true so this could be see as a blocking maneuver. I would like to think he was offered Secretary of State since this has already been promised to Dodd according to the scuttlebut. Either way Ricardson for me is a pathetic character.

  159. The speech got Richardson.,,pfft, what a transparent lie, a complete fabrication. Guys, let’s waste no more time on that windbag.

  160. people are still primarily talking about..bullfrog, hate America, typical white person, etc…who gives a rats ass about Richardson….I’m telling you guys..this is not over for bho..and going after HRC with the crap about being deeply flawed…thats a joke, right? After this week and his response, that fucktard can’t clown on anybody, but, hey, just words, right? As far as passport-gate/ nothing there, it was wrong and the employees were dealt with. It turns out employees were poking at Hrc and Jonnymacs too. Turst me guys, I work for a federal agency with sensitive info. Some employees never learn. They are always trying to access famous peoples info. The computer sends a red flag. I have seen several employees terminated because of this security violation over the years. Usually its just nosy employees. Story has no legs…

  161. TPS @ 1:49: thank you for the Dobbs posting. It does a fine job of explaining why Obama was warmly accepted by many people to begin with whereas now the bloom is off the rose. Here is the particular excerpt that caught my eye:
    ——————————————–

STEELE: Yes, Senator Obama is what I call a bargainer. Bargainers are blacks who enter the mainstream and give whites the benefit of the doubt, trust them, not to be racists. Whites respond to bargainers very warmly with a lot of gratitude.

Challenges are people like Reverend Wright who never give whites the benefit of the doubt, who want to hold their feet to the fire, see that as black power. Are you a bargainer or are you a challenger? Do you trust us or don’t you trust us? And so it’s worrisome. It bothers people to see that kind of connection

  162. What do you think they will leak next…did somebody hit the family dog? was HRC within 500 miles of the accident (lol)

Steele indicates that race relations are a lot better than Obama would like us to believe. I still think that Obama brought up the race issue to try to steer the discussion away from Wright.

I would have like to hear Steele’s comments on other races too.

  164. wbboei,

Shelby Steel had a column on Wednesday’s WSJ on the same issue. A very thoughtful column.

mj, Obama is just a con man.

  165. From Jake Tapper: blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/03/keystone-democr.html

    Keystone Democrats Set to Defect

    March 21, 2008 10:06 AM

In the new Franklin & Marshall College Poll (read it HERE) some good news for Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, and some troubling news for Democrats.

Clinton leads Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, 51% to 35% — increasing her lead from February, when she was up 44% to 37%. She leads among young voters, wealthier voters…voters in virtually every demographic group, with the exceptions of Philly voters and non-whites.

In a sign of just how divisive and ugly the Democratic fight has gotten, only 53% of Clinton voters say they’ll vote for Obama should he become the nominee. Nineteen percent say they’ll go for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and 13% say they won’t vote.

Sixty percent of Obama voters say they’ll go for Clinton should she win the nomination, with 20% opting for McCain, and three percent saying they won’t vote.

  166. don’t you think the Richardson endorsement means that the DNC is saying well if we loose some white voters, we can get the hispanics to make up for by Richardson on the ticket? what do you all think? Maybe even this will be the pitch to the SD!

  167. Hey guys, Hill really needs this money. She has to get on the air ASAP. I hope she puts that video with the generals/admirals on the air. Let’s all try to squeeze out as much money as we can from people we know for Hill.

  168. But if you look at that. Really, only 23% of BO’s 35% is set to vote for either McCain if Hill is the nom. While 32% of Hill’s 51% plan to sit home or vote McCain.

  169. confloyd, if the DNC believes that, they are stupid. Latinos HATE identity politics. They love having one of their own in office, but they will not vote based on that.

Richardson cannot pull the Hispanic vote for Obama. They are dreaming. It is majority Hispanic where I am, and they are REPULSED by Bambi. They will vote McCain in a heartbeat over him, and they love Hillary like their own mother.

  170. basil. I lied. It isnt that I dont have the time to watch msnbc. The real reason is my arteries cant stand it.

  171. When Barack says his grandmother is racist because she is afraid of a black man on the street, he obviously does not understand what it means to be a woman. I don’t care if the men are black or white, all woman have to be afraid of men we don’t know on the street. Rapists are men and they rape women from the age of 1 month to 100 years old. They don’t care. It is an act of rage. We have to go through our whole life being just a little bit afraid when we see men, black or white, hanging around the street. It has nothing to do with race, it has to do with gender.

The man has two daughters and a wife. I can’t believe he hasn’t thought of this. He is totally immature and naive.

  172. Special Report: Obama – Wright Blog Coverage

Live Data: Check back often to see updates!
On March 13th, ABC News reported on presidential candidate Barack Obama’s controversial pastor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, and both mainstream and new media has been on fire with the story ever since. The chart above shows just how dramatic the impact of the story has been within the blogosphere by recording, day-by-day, the percentage of blog posts which mention Senator Obama that also mention Reverend Wright.

Since the ABC News report at least 28% of all posts mentioning the Senator each day have also included reference to Reverend Wright, with the peak of 35.7% occurring on March 18th, when Obama addressed the controversy in a high-profile speech on race in America. The speech does not appear to have put an end to the discussion, however, as two days later (March 20) over 30% of Obama blog posts still mention Wright as well.

Only time will tell how damaging the story will prove to Senator Obama’s campaign, but thus far, it does not appear to be fading from the blogosphere particularly quickly. Next week will be critical — if coverage dramatically drops, the issue may fade away, but if the percentages remain high, it is a sign that the Senator is in for a long hard road ahead…

    LOL!

  175. I’m sorry, but Richardson calling Obama a once-in-a-lifetime leader has me LMAO.

Notice how Obama’s endorsers rely on hyperbole, but Hillary’s are always pretty reasonable and straightforward. They don’t call her the next FDR, for example.

  176. ininla, not so far, but I am worried about next week at the county convention. I am in a small precint so everyone was very mannerly. My other friends had the same experience. Good, but since that time i have seen animosity towards the Clinton by the AA’s, not sure if those are delegates. So far everyone here is being nice to one another. Its scary though, racial things can flair up very easy in east Texas. I am not far from Jasper and Jena Louisiana>

    RE: Obama Campaign: Just Words

At this point, it’s no secret that the Obama campaign is in political hot water given the news stories of the last few weeks and is desperate to change the subject.

The ground is shifting away from them and their response?

First, disenfranchise voters – Prevent new votes in Florida and Michigan. Stop voting in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Oregon, West Virginia, Puerto Rico, Kentucky, South Dakota, Montana, West Virginia and Indiana.

Second, peddle photos of President Clinton shaking hands with Reverend Wright less than 48 hours after calling for a high-minded conversation on race. Well, President Clinton took tens of thousands of photos during his eight years as president. Stop the presses.

Third, accuse our campaign of having something to do with Senator Obama’s passport file being breached, a reckless charge that has zero merit.

Fourth, continue attacks on Senator Clinton’s character in an effort to implement what the Chicago Tribune called a full assault on her ethics.

Fifth, stonewall the press: no tax returns, no state records, no answers about the inconsistencies in the Rezko story.

So it’s not a pretty sight – it’s all part of a pattern of just words.

Senator Obama talks about voter participation while actively disenfranchising millions.

He calls for high minded debates while practicing lowdown politics.

He promises a different kind of campaign while attacking Hillary’s character.

He promises transparency while hiding basic info and stonewalling the press.

It’s no wonder that Americans are coming to see that for all of his lofty rhetoric, Senator Obama’s candidacy is really just words.

It’s no surprise that Americans are expressing serious doubts about his ability to answer the 3am call.

It’s no wonder that top journalists are calling the Obama campaign desperate, saying that it’s amateur hour in Chicago.

  178. how can these people assume he will be a leader? what has he ever accomplished? Nothing.

He wouldn’t even confront his white hating, american hating preacher .. how can he lead anybody in anything. This is the biggest bunch of bs I’ve ever seen.

This is nothing more than SEXISM running rampant in the party. Yes, it is harder for a woman to get anywhere than a man. And yes, Obama is where he is RIGHT now because of the color of his skin. John Edwards is more accomplished, had a much better message and is as charasmatic ..

  179. Best .. press…release….yet. I’m sure big media will “cherrypick” certain words and phrases to pick out to make Hillary sound “periodically down” What cha wanna bet.

  180. btw .. obama is hammering PA with ads Even voters sense his desperation BUT we need to be sure to let them know that every vote matters now. I am telling them they are the most important people in the nation right now — they are!

  181. Richardson has made a mistake if he thinks he will be VP. Barack will throw him under the bus when it comes time. He is just using him. I will be surprised if he is chosen.

  182. Dot48 – I live in the suburbs of Phildelphia (10 mins from the city) and I have not seen any Obama or Clinton ads. But everyone in my family was talking about his “typical white person” comment last night.

  183. I agree with out DOT48, mj, I think she definitely has the “RIGHT STUFF” to make a historic president, maybe even the most historic!

  184. There is defiantly a spilt in the Democratic Party between Hillary supporters and Obama’s. I don’t think there is any way to deny that. Will the spilt sow up? I dunno, but I think we can blame the DNC for not giving a fair election and disenfranchising MI and FL.

  185. I don’t think there is anythin more historic than a woman president. That she will be as great or greater than FDR is icing on the cake.

  186. Al Sharpton doesn’t tell black people in this country what to do. I know that’s hard to believe the way the MSM has annointed him and Jesse Jackson as the spokesmen for black america.

That’s absolutely true. What he DOES do is tell white people what they CAN’T do. More importantly, what they can and can’t say. And why on earth do you think the Revs Al and Jesse do this? Because by controlling what people of other races can and can’t say, they grab the power. Do they reallt care about unity between people of ALL races? HELL NO! Just like the David Dukes and the Hitlers of the world don’t care. It’s about THEM, it’s about their power. And sadly, there will always be some people from each race who buy this horsehit hook line and sinker.

  187. A Few Unanswered Questions About Bill Richardson’s Obama Endorsement

I think there are a few lingering questions regarding Bill
Richardson’s endorsement of Barack Obama. This is what he said on CNN
on February 25 regarding the role of superdelegates:

BLITZER: All right. So you say you will — you’re about to endorse
somebody? You’re thinking about endorsing either Hillary Clinton or
Barack Obama? Make the news. Go ahead.

RICHARDSON: Well, no. I’m going to decide very shortly. But the
reality is I think there are too many superdelegates. There are over
    800. That’s the latest count that I saw.

    BLITZER: There’s almost 800.

RICHARDSON: Who elected these people? I think it’s important that
    those…

BLITZER: Well, you’re a superdelegate. You were elected by the
    people of New Mexico.

RICHARDSON: Well, that’s right, but that doesn’t mean that you
appoint every big fundraiser, you appoint every governor, every member
of Congress, every leader that contributes money.

I just think this should be decided by voters. And in my view,
there are too many superdelegates. They have too much influence. I
    would cut down the number.

But I think superdelegates should vote according to who they
represent. If somebody’s appointed as a superdelegate because they’re
Hispanic or a governor, they should pay attention to what their voters
    and their constituencies are saying.

BLITZER: Well, the Democratic caucuses in your state, New Mexico,
decided that Hillary Clinton got the most votes. Does that mean you
have to go with the Democrats of New Mexico, because she won the
    caucuses there?

RICHARDSON: Well, she won by 1 percent, you know. It was a very
    contested race.

BLITZER: Well, you know what they say. A win is a win.

RICHARDSON: No, I know that. But I’m going to decide in the next
few days. I just think superdelegates have too much influence. It
should be voters in states. It should be delegates according to the
proportion of the vote or the candidate.

It shouldn’t be, you know, fat cats, big contributors, politicians
deciding this. Let the people — let the Democratic voters — decide.
    That’s my view.

Richardson seems to be talking out of both sides of his mouth on this
one. New Mexico went for Clinton, and Hispanics in the New Mexico
caucuses went 2-1 for Clinton. If Richardson thinks superdelegates
should “vote according to who they represent,” “because they’re
Hispanic or a governor,” who does he think he’s representing?

I don’t have strong opinions one way or another on the superdelegate
situation, or whether they should even exist. Neither do I have a fear
that they’re going to go renegade and override a clear popular winner
(and I don’t see any way that’s not going to be Obama). I also think
The Huffington Post’s superdelegate transparency project is a good
one, but that’s based on general considerations regarding the good of
    transparency.

What I have a problem with are people espousing a set of rules
strictly on the basis of advocacy for their candidate, without regard
to whether it’s a good thing for the party, long-term. Just because
it’s Good For My Candidate Now doesn’t make it a smart way to run the
party over time, and those who are indulging in these kinds of
proclamations at a volatile moment without taking that into
consideration are not showing either good judgment or leadership.

If Bill Richardson has changed his mind regarding the rules that
should govern superdelegates, he should say so. With all the talk of
him being a potential vice presidential nominee now, this dramatic
about-face when it becomes convenient smacks of political opportunism.

  188. That’s Jane Hamsher on HuffPo. I disagree with her on the pop. vote. There is every indication Hill can win the pop vote.

  189. The only way off of that staircase is to recognize, and conform one’s beliefs and conduct and words to, the transcendent truth about race and racism in modern America: To end racial discrimination, we have to stop discriminating on the basis of race. Obama does not get that.

Let the chruch say, ” AMEN!”

  190. Paula@3:08: I am 100% with you LMAO on Richardson’s description of Bambi as a once in a life time leader. But it does raise questions, i.e.

By what sophistry of reason did Richardson arrive at this fatuous conclusion? Was there any discernable hint that he felt this way before? Is he so naive and impressionable that one speech is enough to make up jump over the moon for Bambi? If so then Kim Jong Ill must have relished the fact that he had a real rube on his hands.

The only thing I can figure is Richardson must have looked into Obama’s soul, just as good ol W looked into Putin’s soul to discover a man for all seasons. I sure Obama would object to this comparison but he has no grounds to complain since he is the one who compared Racist Reverend Wrong to two white women in the very speech that Richardson slobbers and spittles over.

How praytell did fat Bill arrive at this hyperbolic conclusion since there was no hint of it before?

  191. But I think superdelegates should vote according to who they
represent. If somebody’s appointed as a superdelegate because they’re
Hispanic or a governor, they should pay attention to what their voters
    and their constituencies are saying.

We need to throw that back in Richardson’s face.

BTW, anyone heard a peep from Ted Kennedy since the Wright mess ensued? I know he has trying to lie about Hillary’s role in SCHIP just before that.

  192. wbboei, It was pretty clear that Richardson was leaning to Obama for a while, so I seriously doubt the speech put him over the edge. but it’s not like he can come out and say, “I’m endorsing Obama because he promised to make me VP or secretary of state.” I was sure he was going to endorse Obama before TX and OH. You can see by the transcript above that he was diminishing Hillary’s NM win.

I do agree with Jake Tapper that this was an endorsement Hillary wanted but I doubt it’ll have much of an impact.

  193. Why are people like Taylor Marsh and Jane Hamsher saying he’ll win the pop vote? There’s every indiction he won’t.

  194. Notice Richardson makes no mention of his electability or whether he’s the best to go up against McCain, practical concerns all Dems should have. I don’t give a fuck if Obama’s the next great elader if he can’t win in November.

  195. As usual, here’s something I don’t see posted but figure it’s of interest to the regulars (except SpaceCase; she says she can’t trust me – so she should just scroll on past.)
I’d expect to be a story in the coming days, to which I can only say Hallelujah!

I take this is the best sign for Hillary in months.

When President Clinton finally gets after Obama BO is d-o-n-e.
Axelrod will never figure a way to beat him, because no one can, he’s unbeatable. And it’s long past the time Big Dawg got off the sidelines and started to crack Obama, who couldn’t deserves it more.

    Source: MSNBC
Bill Clinton has made remarks that seem to undermine Senator Obama’s patriotism.
The remarks which include a statement to the effect that a “Clinton-McCain race would be between two people who love the country without all of this distraction from our politics” (paraphrase)
Todd was asked when he stopped by MSNBC and they were reading the excerpt to him.
He said that the full text was not good and a ‘terrible read’. He could not figure out what Clinton was saying that would be good for his wife’s campaign.

Waiting on a more direct quote…..

  196. mj, He’s ahead by about 700,000, so it’ll be hard for Hillary to catch him without FL being included. It’s still possible, though. But if you count FL, that deficit is almost cut in half, and winning PA by a healthy margin would come close to erasing his lead.

  197. For those of you who haven’t taken the time to read the WSJ article by Shelby Steele, I’m going to repost the link. I think Steeles work is incredibly important overall, but this particular piece gives alot of insight into the problem Obama is now facing.

    online.wsj.com/article/SB120579535818243439.html

  198. except SpaceCase; she says she can’t trust me

Blue Dem, I have absolutely no bone to pick with you what so ever, but I will say that I don’t find name calling a particulary mature response from thoughtful posters.

  199. Blue Dem, It looks like the media is trying to make a mountain out of a molehill again regarding something Bill said. That quote does NOT impugn Obama’s patriotism. Saying McCain and Hillary love this country doesn’t mean he’s saying Obama doesn’t. Geez.

  200. Actually, mj, I’m not sure how to add MI because Obama wasn’t on the ballot (his own fault, I know).

mj, Of course it’s a smear. And I’m sure her campaign will call it as such.

  201. Paula: I agree we all knew where he was going and I said as much last night. The point I am making here is that no one knew until now that Richardson considered Obama a “once in a lifetime leader” which was your point to which I was responding.

  202. I just hope that the DNCwill soon finally realize this race is about us the people of America, the ones without insurance, retirement, a home ,jobs,> The American people are hurting and we need the Democratic party more than any other time in my lifetime. What have we seen from this administration, superdelegates and the Democratic leaders is blatant chauvinism, political postering, jealousy, revenge. I am appalled at the lack of interest in We, the people from the party of the people, that it makes me sick. How exactly is the DNC any better than the republican, they don’t care about the middle class and neither does the latte drinking liberals that have a home, job, healthcare and a retirement. So I guess the peeons of American will be forgotten in the process of getting their candidate in the White House!

  203. Richardson considered Obama a “once in a lifetime leader”

Wonder if Richardson would agree that Mussolini was a once in a lifetime leader too. 🙄

  204. Paula,
That’s the beauty of it, it can mean whatever you want it to.
But above all it is a sign of things to come, one I can’t help view but positively.

    IDunn,
Never had a problem with you either and appreciate your demeanor. That said, I’m no longer striving to be a “mature, thoughtful poster”.
I’m an outcast and a non-regular thanks to some ingrates here.
And after the insults I endured, I see no reason not to bitchslap at will, as long as I’m bringing something to the table as I do it.
    The mutts deserve it.

  205. paula: Rove said if both states were seated based on the votes which have occurred it would give Hillary a net gain of 36 delegates, whereas the best blogger on TM says it is more like 70+. FYI.

  206. My anxiety level about HRC getting the nomination is out of whack again, I need therapy!

Anyhoo, can anyone tell me if HRC can still get the popular vote by June? I mean if 3 millon dems in PA vote for HRC, then she’s up BO in the PV, not even counting MI and FL.

  207. That said, I’m no longer striving to be a “mature, thoughtful poster”.

I think that’s unfortunate, Blue Dem. I hope you’ll reconsider your approach. You have alot to say, and it would be a shame for you to obsure that by not choosing to rise above.

  208. My anxiety level about HRC getting the nomination is out of whack again, I need therapy!

I think eventually you’ll come to the same place I’ve come to, which is , what will be will be. I’ll fight on to the bitter end, but that’s all the power that’s given to me in this. If HRC should lose the nomination, I’ll endure. As Shakespeare wrote; what’s gone and what’s past help should be past grief.

  209. I just posted this at the 411 site,
    http://www.411mania.com/politics/columns/71479

The eventual total popular vote of registered Democrats might be an indication of ‘what Democrats want’, but Obama’s delegates from little red caucus states certainly are not — and blocking re-votes in FL and MI is certainly not!

Last polls I saw, 25% of FL and MI Democrats would stay home or vote for McCain if the DNC does not let their own votes count now. 25% of Hillary’s voters would too — and many of them are talking about McCain (a more recent figure I’ve seen is 41%). At a worst case AA’s and youth might not vote for Hillary — but they sure won’t vote for McCain, they will vote for Nader or stay home.

And the Wright tapes are just beginning to circulate among the public. There are several months left for a long Eagleton moment….

Imo Obama should withdraw soon, to stop the bleeding with the tapes. That’s the best way to preserve his chance for 2016. If by any chance he got nominated, he’d lose to the GOP like McGovern did, and never get another chance.
    —————-

  210. BTW idunn, that “Cracker” remark the other day, I resemble that!

Too late, I’ve already labelled you “the quack”. 😉

  211. OK, here’s what a TM poster said about that Bill Clinton quote:

Bud White, MSNBC talked about it 4 times in the last hour alone, and every person interviewed stated that the story would not die.

The network realizes it’s a problem and it has since tried to make hay out of something Bill Clinton said on the stump today. Speaking to veterans, he said that a race between Sens. Clinton and McCain would be “a race between two people who love this country.” Naturally, Norah O’Donnell has been wondering whether that means that Bill Clinton thinks Obama does not love America. The MSNBC reporter who is following Bill had to tell her that he was talking to veterans and didn’t once mention Obama’s name or refer to him in any way. Poor Norah had to admit that, sometimes, too much “is made” of comments on the stump. Notice she didn’t say that she was the one who was trying to draw certain conclusions.

MSNBC again talking about “typical white person” comment. Again, consensus is that the comment is bad news.

  212. mj,
The media is going to kill Hillary no matter; if this campaign’s proven anything it is that.
The key is it introduces these thought lines into the dialogue, and though you won’t hear or read it anywhere, there is ample evidence it has worked (look NOT to BC’s “fairy tale” remarks, but rather his “Jesse Jackson won here too” comment, which did tag BO first as primarily what he’s become; a boxed in AA candidate that is only saved from being out of this race by the latte-lovers & the media).
Have no fear, Big Bill knows what he’s doin’.

    IDunn,
Nah. I’m vanishing again, just wanted to bring you that tidbit. There’s too much madness going on (like the hideous Jack Cafferty on CNN right now quoting Dick Morris!) for me to deal with people questioning my veracity.

LAST CRITICAL POINT: When will the campaign begin the mantra it needs on FL & MI.
BO wasn’t on the ballot because he took his name OFF!
BECAUSE HE KNEW HE WOULD LOSE!

There’s little more important right now than winning the popular vote, and little more telling of the devious ways of BO, Alexrod, and the fucking in-the-tank media than the fact that this MYTH has been allowed to continue.

HILL’S CAMPAIGN SHOULD SAY NOTHING ELSE THE REST OF THE WAY, BECAUSE NOTHING’S MORE IMPORTANT AT THIS POINT!!!

  213. The network realizes it’s a problem and it has since tried to make hay out of something Bill Clinton said on the stump today. Speaking to veterans, he said that a race between Sens. Clinton and McCain would be “a race between two people who love this country.”

Now you see, THAT is how you plant a seed in peoples minds without laying your ass on the line. 🙂

  214. I agree completely Blue, HRC needs to focus on winning the PV until June, with that she has all the arguments for the SD to vote for her.

  215. IDunn,
Nah. I’m vanishing again, just wanted to bring you that tidbit.

I wish you well then, Blue Dem. And if you change your mind at any point in the future, you know where we’ll be. 🙂

  216. Paula Says:

    March 21st, 2008 at 4:18 pm
mj, Real Politics shows Obama ahead by just 80,000 in the popular vote if MI and FL are counted.

She’ll make that up in PA alone.

  217. Yeah, the popular vote should be her focus indeed.

Also, Taylor Marsh refers to a Mark Halperin post this morning about the state of the race. Anyone know which one she means?

  218. American girl…I’m totally dying laughing over the fox walkout. I see a SNL skit in the making. 🙂

I can’t get those damned videos to load from the Huffpo page though. Would you have a link to them anywhere else?

  219. I hope HRC is all about getting the PV by June, even without MI and FL, then if they are counted, then its icing on the nomination cake.

  220. Wow, the Fox walkout is exactly what we all know, BO and surrogates are so immature, can’t handle real responsibility!

  221. I was just watching HNN and they had Obama and Richardson on stage together .. I’m sorry, he will not be the VP. He looks hideous in that beard and whats with the Obama08 pins? They still can’t see fit to wear an American flag? See, they are just too into “themselves”.

What did Richardson get in votes 1% maybe?

  222. LOL! Did you guys see this on Marc Ambinder? Check out the middle of this e-mail from Richardson:

    I know Senator Obama well.

I first got to know him when I chaired the last Democratic National Convention, where he gave that wonderful keynote address.

And then, last year, as we campaigned against each other for the Presidency, I came to fully appreciate his steadfast patriotism and remarkable talents.

I also felt a kinship with him because we both had one foreign-born parent and we both lived abroad as children.

In part because of these experiences, Barack and I share a deep sense of our nation’s special responsibilities in the world.

    [Turn toward Obama and smile]

Barack Obama, you are an extraordinary leader who has shown courage, sound judgment and wisdom throughout your career.

You understand the security challenges of the 21st century, and you will be an outstanding Commander in Chief.

  223. My anxiety level about HRC getting the nomination is out of whack again, I need therapy!
    —————————————————————-
Suggestion: stay focused and we will be fine. We have got the momentum and Bambi is in a damage control mode. Bambi’s argument that total delegate count shoud be dispostitive of the issue aka do the math is undermined by his oppositon to a revote in Florida and Michigan. Bambi’s argument that superdelegates are bound by the vote of their constituents is vitiated by the Richardson, Kennedy and Kerry endorsements. Win big in Pennsylvania and we are on in the drivers seat. Keep the momentum show that we do better against McCain and let the sds decide whether they want to win in November.

  224. Paula Says:
    March 21st, 2008 at 3:52 pm
mj, He’s ahead by about 700,000, so it’ll be hard for Hillary to catch him without FL being included.

I think our number crunchers should simply start quoting the total that includes FL and MI whenever we talk about the race. Let the bots quibble that they should be left out of the total.

It’s going to the Supers anyway. The Supers are supposed to vote their judgement of the best candidate, without any limitations like BO is trying to place on them. Those Supers who want a figleaf popular vote, can look to the total with FL/MI; no reason to disregard that just on a technicality.

  225. Well it’s obvious to everyone that Chris Wallace is hoping to “score” an interview with the new messiah.

Chris Wallace is the most two faced arrogant man, besides Obama that I ever heard. He’s an absolute asshole and he isn’t too highly regarded at Fox anyways. Brian Kilmeade is a wuss so its understandable about him too.

    Headline news network

  226. BTW, another thing to remember about Richardson: He cut that deal with Obama in Iowa, stabbing Hillary and Edwards in the back.

  227. Paula Says:
    March 21st, 2008 at 3:58 pm
Actually, mj, I’m not sure how to add MI because Obama wasn’t on the ballot (his own fault, I know).

Exit polls “if all names had been on the ballot” in MI showed HIllary’s total about the same as her actual votes, and Obama’s and Edwards’ totalling about the same as the actual “Uncommitted” votes, and split about evenly between them.

  228. I know that the canvassers will be out tomorrow in Registration drive in Pa. I suppose it would be okay to phone bank or does anyone think it might be a little harassing for people since its a religious weekend and family weekend. I know I don’t want to be bothered this weekend.

I want to bank in to West Virginia — can’t wait.

  229. Apparently Cafferty’s saying the Richardson endorsement means the beginning of the end for HRC, lol. Let’s see … we’ve heard that before, oh, a million times?

  230. Gallup poll Hillary 47 Obama 45.

I say hit the DNC where it counts, in the pocket book. Some “Big” FL. donors have already asked for their donation back, money the DNC does not have. So keep up with the financial pressure, and I say they will come around! If not, then prepare to lose in the GE, then Dean will have to answer to the Democatic Party, what’s left of it.

  231. Regarding what Cafferty said about Richardson endorsment. He did not get the mome saying endorsements don’t mean a whole lot, take Kenndy and Kerry for example.

  232. Also, remember, Bill yelled at him in ‘06.

I LOVE that interview. It’s in my Big Dawg greatest hits list…right next to the heckler smack down and him and Boris Yeltsin yakking it up. 🙂

If anyone can give me the general run down on what the fox anchors who walked off actually said, I’d appreciate it. I can’t get the huffpo video links to load.

  233. Here is how in the tank that MSNBC is for Obama. Was reading an article just now about John Edwards going on Leno and it said:

    MSNBC

When John Edwards went on Jay Leno last night we were BRACING ourselves for the endorsement

  234. Richardson can’t even hold his own state because if you think the Latinos are going to get behind Obama after what happened in TEXAS and Florida then you have another thing coming.

Obama is suppressing Latinos votes and how he treated many of them in the Texas caucus is not going down very well.

The problem with the DEMS Leadership is that in their “Anybody but Clinton” and trashing Geraldine Ferrero, Team Obama insulted plenty of the voters they will need come this November for this guy.

Obama is running for the POTUS not the President of Black America, his campaign has been amature at best. Obama has glowing media coverage, Kiss Ass DNC and a Democratic Primary that favored this guy with it’s Caucus run that will be of no benefit come this November.

Caucuses need to be a thing of the past because of the false positives and the manipulation by a dedicated few.

  235. Clinton has been beating Obama among Democrats all along and only through having Independents supporting him in the primaries and caucuses, is Obama leading.

Another good point. We should be memeing the total of Democrats, not of Dems plus Inds plus GOP. (And adding in FL and MI too.) Just mention that her total is at XX and let the bots do the quibbling.

  236. They’ve danced on Hillary’s grave how many times now?

Thats what I chat with people about and it’s amazing the ones who say “yeah, we are going to make them eat their words” ..

Only with CNN and Obama would Richardson be a big “get”. Wonder how huffy he’ll get when he gets thrown under the bus. SOP for the Obama camp.

  237. Good afternoon friends!

And Idunn…what’s my bill NOW? I’m gonna have to send you for a night on the town with Pat Buchanan or something!

    Now…

LMAO when I heard Passport-gate was now a worldwide event…well….campaign wide, and was wondering how KO was going to handle it tonight. My guess? He says little. FoxNews Readio says BO has called for a CONGRESSIONAL INVESTIGATION. Your tax dollars at work while more AA’s in Mississippi and LA have no homes….good move BO.

LMAO AGAIN at the FOX walkout! Idunn…..I’m with you. SNL, here we come!

and Rezko and Hammas made Laura Ingraham today!

We are doing well. The Hammas story was linked back to Rezko and well…maybe more people will start looking.

  238. Here’s AmericanGal’s TM post on Mark Halperin. Good job!

The Mark Halperin posting of today is nothing more than a set of talking points by the Obama campaign. It’s ridiculous that he would actually post them. Here is my response. Feel free to add on as you wish:

1.She can’t win the nomination without overturning the will of the elected delegates, which will alienate many Democrats.

Voters won’t be alienated if Obama continues to slip in the polls and has more and more damage from the many questionable friends and associates who are interwoven in his life. The role of the super delegates is to make sure we have an electable nominee.

    2. She can’t win the nomination without a bloody convention battle — after which, even if she won, history and many Democrats would cast her as a villain.

It will not be a bloody convention battle if Obama is in a position where his nomination is seen as being weak and potentially leading to defeat in November. Many supporters will see the writing on the wall.

    3. Catching up in the popular vote is not out of the question — but without re-votes in Florida and Michigan it will be almost as impossible as catching up in elected delegates.

The delegates know that she has received these votes irregardless of if they are actually counted or not. Also, the whole issue of these states votes counting is not just going to fade away.

    4. Nancy Pelosi and other leading members of Congress don’t think she can win and want her to give up. Same with superdelegate-to-the-stars Donna Brazile.

They are obvious Obama’s supporters so not surprising they would say that. Also obvious is that Hillary has significant support amongst voters and is in fact increasing that support. Why would she be expected to drop out? Things are still playing out in this campaign.

    5. Obama’s skilled, close-knit staff can do things like silently kill re-votes in Florida and Michigan and not pay a political price.

This issue hasn’t been massively front and center in the public eye enough yet to make that determination. Given the second look many voters are now giving to Obama it can’t be said that this issue will not have an effect down the road.

    6. Many of her supporters — and even some of her staffers — would be relieved (and even delighted) if she quit the race; none of his supporters or staff feel that way. Some think she just might throw in the towel in June if it appears efforts to fight on would hurt Obama’s general election chances.

Evidence of this?? There have been no comments in the media, by pundits, or even her surrogates to support this view. I don’t think her staying in the race affects his GE chances…he associations with Wright and others potentially could.

    7. The Rev. Wright story notwithstanding, the media still wants Obama to be the nominee — and that has an impact every day.

True, they want Obama as the nominee but despite this they are forced to cover stories such as the Wright issues. They can’t completely ignore it even though they would like to do so. And people aren’t stupid..Fox News ratings are increasing for a reason. People are seeing the bias out there.

    8. Obama might not be able to talk that well about the new global economy, but she (and McCain) can’t either.

McCain and Hillary have more gravitas and solid political experience than Obama whose ignorance and lack of experience on major issues has crept out into the open more than once. People do notice.

    9. Many of the remaining prominent superdelegates want to be for Obama and she (and Harold Ickes) are just barely keeping them from making public commitments to him.

Evidence for this? If they are for Obama what would be stopping them? Wouldn’t a good time to show support be right now when his poll numbers are taking a hit?

    10. She can’t publicly say more than 2% of all the things she would like to say about race, electability, beating McCain and experience.

Yes, and that’s why the blatent media bias has been unfair and irresponsible during this campaign. When one side is silenced, democracy suffers. Voters need to know the whole story.

    11. If she somehow found a way to win the nomination, she would have to offer Obama the veep slot, and she doesn’t want to do that.

While I’m sure she wants her own choice, I disagree that she wouldn’t accept Obama. Did she not bring up this topic just recently? Her comments indicate that she would be accept Obama to help foster party unity.

    12. This is a change election, and Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton can never truly be change.

Having a woman in office is the biggest chance of all. That argument is one that should have been made during the election of Bush II.

    13. Obama is having fun most days, and she isn’t.

Right, I’m sure it’s just a laugh a minute in his campaign this past week. You’ve got to be kidding…

    14. Even though her campaign staff is having more fun than it has for a long time, there’s hardly anyone there who, given half a chance, wouldn’t slit Mark Penn’s throat — and such internal dissension won’t help her in the home stretch

A new pollster was brought in this past week. Staffers that don’t like Mark Penn have been doing their jobs despite their animosity towards him. All campaigns are going to have some personality conficts. Clearly it hasn’t stopped Hillary from winning states as seen by her recent victories.

  239. Hey…I was thinking about something Donna Brazile sent to me…she mentioned she was an “At large” SD…which I assume means no “affiliation” as would be the case for elected SD’s. Is this true, and if so, how many are there?

  240. obama questioned on wright today in presser-
    blog.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/03/21/obama_calls_passport_intrusion.html

  241. There should be a double standard test for the media:

If Clinton were barring FL and MI from revoting, the media would say __________

If Clinton were only winning the red states and mostly through caucuses, her electability would be_________________________

If Obama were the one winning the big states, the media would say___________

  242. Bet Keithee is sooo having to rewrite his whole talking points LOL. Of course, Richardson today is supposed to deflect attention .. however, Wright and Obama’s stupid slips ups are all thats on the news and what people are talking about.

    A few more revelations.

Tonight is not the night though. Hannity gonna give a breather I believe. Guess who guest is tonight, Bill Bradley UGHHH.

  243. The only reason Richardson endorsed Stinky is because he wants the VP position. There is no other reason to endorse someone this late in the game.

  244. It is important for us to have rebuttal material available when some naive person tries toe tell us that Obama gave a great speech. So heeeerrrrrs Johnny:

    Krauthammer: Obama Fraud Speech

    Friday, March 21, 2008 11:20 AM

By: Newsmax Staff Article Font Size

Barack Obama’s speech on Tuesday has been widely hailed as an attempt to deal honestly with the race issue in the U.S. and his longtime pastor Jeremiah Wright, but Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer is having none of that.

In an Op-Ed article headlined “The Speech: A Brilliant Fraud,” Krauthammer acknowledges that Obama condemned Rev. Wright’s inflammatory remarks as “wrong and divisive” — without specifying the remarks he was referring to.

But Krauthammer goes on to say: “The question is why didn’t he leave that church? Why didn’t he leave — why doesn’t he leave even today — a pastor who thundered not once but three times from the pulpit (on a DVD the church proudly sells), ‘God damn America’?

“Obama’s 5,000-word speech, fawned over as a great meditation on race, is little more than an elegantly crafted, brilliantly sophistic justification of that scandalous dereliction.”

Krauthammer opines that Obama’s defense of his relationship with Wright rests on “moral equivalence” and “white guilt.”

For moral equivalence, Krauthammer notes, Obama places his white grandmother at the “other end of the spectrum” from Wright, since according to Obama she “once confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street, and who on more than one occasion has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made me cringe.”

Krauthammer writes: “Does he not see the moral difference between the occasional private expression of the prejudices of one’s time and the use of a public stage to spread racial lies and race hatred?”

As for white guilt, Krauthammer observes that Obama’s purpose in his speech was to put Wright’s outrages in the context of history — and by history, “he means the history of white racism…

“What lies at the end of his recital of the long train of white racial assaults from slavery to employment discrimination? Jeremiah Wright, of course.

“This contextual analysis of Wright’s venom, this extenuation of black hate speech as a product of white racism, is not new. It’s the Jesse Jackson politics of racial grievance, expressed in Ivy League diction and Harvard Law nuance. That’s why the speech made so many liberal commentators swoon: It bathed them in racial guilt while flattering their intellectual pretensions.”

Krauthammer asserts that Obama “flatters himself as a man of the future transcending the anger of the past as represented by his beloved pastor…

“Then answer this, Senator: If Wright is a man of the past, why would you expose your children to his vitriolic divisiveness?”

The writer concludes: “Why did you give $22,500 just two years ago to a church run by a man of the past who infects the younger generation with precisely the racial attitudes and animus you say you have come unto us to transcend?”

  245. it is very sad that some people would rather sink the party’s chance this year than support hillary.

  246. it is very sad that some people would rather sink the party’s chance this year than support hillary.

I guess I’m sad too then, because I’d rather sink the party’s chance this year than support Obama.

  247. # meiyingsu Says:
    March 21st, 2008 at 4:57 pm

SpacegirlArt, I believe that there are still about 400 SDs who are uncomminted yet.

thanks Meiyingsu…but of those, or, more importantly, of ALL of the SD’s, how MANY are non-affiliated with a constituency or, in other words, the popular vote….the “Dog Catchers” and people like that? It seems as with Donna herself…she can vote WHAT EVER WAY SHE WANTS as ahe HAS no voters to defend. Yet here everyone is saying they, the SD’s cannot “overturn the will of the people”. Well…the argument is that SOME of these SD’s. LIKE Brazile, do NOT “represent” anyone but themselves, and supposedly, the good of the party (an expression I loathe now) and who is electable AND who is BEST for the country. IMO, these are the people we need to identify and to write to, pleading Hillary’s case.

How do we find out who they are?

  248. It’s time for the Clinton machine to start playing hard ball …. take no hostages… and go after BO. She has nothing to loose. As far as I am concerned, go to Denver with a brokered convention.

  249. BTW, I do agree with Halperin on 4, 5, 7 and 10. Also, somewhat on 14, because I don’t doubt Penn deserves the blame he gets.

My favorites are probably 7 and 10. Does anyone here remember a campaign where the media was so much for one candidate? It’s just stunning.

BTW, when Hillary really believes she has no shot, she’ll drop out. She’s not going to “destroy the party,” and she’ll back Obama strongly in the GE. She’s a loyal Democrat first and foremost.

  250. Paula

‘and she’ll back Obama strongly in the GE.’

sHE MAY BACK HIM, BUT IT WILL BE “JUST WORDS”

She will go back t the Senate and take Pelosi down.

  251. Halperin also makes an excellent point with 10. Hillary can’t make the public argument that the Wright videos will probably alone cost Obama the GE. We can, of course, but she’s operating with one hand tied behind her back, essentially.

BTW, I don’t believe Hillary will take this to the convention. We’ll have a better idea in June where all of this stands.

  252. # dot48 Says:

We are gonna win this so don’t worry.

you sound like Bill Clinton channeling Karl Rove and Sean Hannity! LOL

    gotta love it

  253. Meanwhile, little if anything is being done to appease angry Florida Democrats — whose enthusiastic support the party will need if the Florida sun is going to shine on its candidate in the general election. But either way, Florida isn’t likely to be the butt of national jokes when this is all over. The new derisive puns may well fall instead on Dean and the DNC — starting with Dem-witted.

Somewhere, in some quiet little room all by his lonesome, Howard Dean is punching the air and screaming, “YAH!!!!!!!!!!!”

  254. mj, I didn’t get that one either, lol. Halperin’s not usually that goofy.

Spacegirl, I was saying that because she is loyal to her party, even if they’ve treated her like shit. Remember, if Obama loses in November, she can run against McCain in 2012.

  255. We’re gonna win the majority of the next 10 states and we are gonna win big. This campaign is just catching it’s second wind and the Obama team is ready to fold tables.

Help Hillary win big in the next states .. work yet to be done.

  256. How’s everyone? I am still on spring break. What’s the news??

Obama is a bigot with a batshit crazy pastor.
Several of the koolaid drinkers at fox bolted in protest of Bambi bashing.
    All white people are typical.
Bill Richardson made a play to stay relevent.
HRC has gone about her business.
John Edwards hair is holding up nicely.

    And…that about covers it.

  257. I agree with the 2012 thing Paula, I just dont see her out there on the campaign trail promoting this dumbass and his gang of fools. And IF she were to not be POTUS, you can bet, Bambi will not be either, and she can pull a coup in the Senate, because it will have been TEddy, Nasty, Durbin, Obama, Kerry et al that LOST the Whitehouse for the Dems.

    She site pretty either way

  258. mj Says:

    March 21st, 2008 at 1:49 pm
Well, I don’t know…If Edwards is going to endorse Hill, then do it already. His online followers are mostly BO people, so I am sure he is getting an extreme amount of pressure.
    *************************************************
I’ll be very surprised if Edwards endorsed Hillary Clinton, mostly because I think he thinking about an end run…remember he only suspended his campaign.

Also the issue of gender is another Cross that is the underlining issue with most voters…Does having a female president make this country seem weak to our enemies?

  259. Paula,

Are you saying that Hillary will back Obama in spite of Wright, Rezko, and a multitude of other damming issues?

  260. Hawk….

“Obama is a bigot with a batshit crazy pastor.
Several of the koolaid drinkers at fox bolted in protest of Bambi bashing.
    All white people are typical.
Bill Richardson made a play to stay relevent.
HRC has gone about her business.
John Edwards hair is holding up nicely.

    And…that about covers it.”

    Not quite

    Rezko really gave more money
Bambi’s passport photo got laughed at
We saw Bill C shaking hands with one of 10,000 visitors to the WH
Biggest Anti-war dog in Congress endorsed Hillary
and Hannity is our friend…for now

  261. For now, I think Hillary should continue to stay on message and maybe start hitting Obama hard when it’s closer to the PA primary. Over these next few weeks, I expect we’ll all hear more about the Wright story, more about Rezko, more about the cousin in Kenya, and so on. There will come a certain point where it will be advantageous for Hillary to kick Obama when he’s down, but I don’t think that time has come yet.

  262. Paula, you agree with 4? I don’t. Nancy fears Hill could win and she wants Obama. Same with Brazile. That’s why they want her out.

5? Nope. It’s not his skilled staff, it’s a hapless media.

    Clearly, 7. I don’t like Penn so I will give you 10.

  263. Lol, Idunn, how I missed thee. Thanks Space. You all have kept up the good work from the thread above I read. Nice job. And don’t worry about Latinos and Bill Richardson, cuz when he was in the race Latinos still went for Hillary 🙂

I missed a lot. We still have our 8′ Hillary sign up on our busy front yard, next to the busy busy street in front of our house 🙂

  264. Thanks Spacegirl…but you forgot:

Turns out that Bambi has an underground vault full of pictures of everyone who has ever walked the planet, and he’s NOT afraid to use them.

  265. “Does having a female president make this country seem weak to our enemies?”

    does having BAMBI?

BTW..>Rush played a longer version of John Kerry Interview today…

Kerry, because Obama lived in indonesia and he is black …he “can bridge the racial divide” in this country and around the world

we need to get that video and edit it with the Good reverend bridging that devide!

  266. The problem for Team Obama and supporters is that the Republicans don’t give a rats ass about the Democratic Party and their plans. So right wing radio, blogs and cable will be going on about this issue until Obambi has a press conference and answer the tough questions, Hillary and McCain has.

Obambi won’t because he’s not a very good LIAR and can’t read off script and telepromter.

  267. Idunn…would that be in Yucca Mountain, where his friends from Excelon are busy making things glow in the dark?

  268. The most important thing to remember about Halperin is that he is not objective when it comes to Hillary. He worked for Bob Dole lest we forget. Also, he has a terminal case of Potomic Fever. The people of this country will have the final say on Hillary, Obama and McCain, whether party insiders and msnbc like it or not.

  269. There is gonna be alot more stuff come out. Pelosi, kennedy and others don’t want to vet Obama .. well the Republicans will do it for them. This Wright stuff is just to get an idea of the reaction of the American people. They got what they wanted, they know where to hit, how to hit and how hard to hit with it.

The next waves will come soon.

Richardson today was a bandaid for the bleeding, don’t think for one minute he has shored up his support.

Just let this play out. Be patient.

  270. Jeebus…can’t a girl go on a bender and not wake up to all sorts of crazy crap about passports, and Bill “Chunky Money” Richardson? What have y’all been up to? Creating WWIII over at FOX? 😀

Seriously, FOX went after the NBPP story and 👿 ‘s site took down their page. Why? Bc this place started the ball rolling, that’s why.

The Right Reverend got outed as a racist and 👿 got stuck answering questions in a way that has defined him as “the race” candidate. Why? Bc this place started the ball rolling, that’s why.

And there’s more work to do folks. Now even though we aren’t with the campaign, we can’t go act like the 👿 bots. It reflects badly on our candidate. No calling and harassing John Lewis for instance should be the agreed line here. But if you want to put up a website making fun of Kerry or pointing out Richardson is only out for Richardson, be my guest. I read this over at Wonkette.com and I had to laugh as they nailed it on the head:

It’s strange, sort of, that New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson would endorse Barack Obama right now. True, Richardson is a psychotically ambitious career-builder who likes to keep his name in the papers. And someone like Richardson only sees an endorsement as a bargaining chip for an appointed position, because he loves nothing more than bragging about his resume. Job, jobs, jobs, look at all the jobs I’ve had, blah blah, make me President because of my jobs, so then I can get more new jobs. So what job did kindly Obama throw his way, and can Richardson’s job experience help undecided voters trust Obama?

Oh, and here’s another good HRC t-shirt from one of my favorite sites. I have several of their shirts including the Crack Whore Ministry and Gave Myself to Jesus… http://www.cafepress.com/bettybowers

And a must read again from Wonkette on Dean: wonkette.com/370888/howard-dean-will-ruin-florida-this-time

  271. Spacegirl, She’s on record repeatedly saying she’ll support Obama if he’s the nominee. To me, that means she won’t sit on the sidelines. She may feel he’s totally unequipped to be president, as we do, but that won’t stop her from doing her duty as a Dem.

I also think Halperin’s point about Obama’s campaign getting away with disenfranchising FL and MI is well-taken.

And his item about the prominent SDs wanting to go toward Obama might be true, too, if only because they want to get the nomination over with since he has the delegate lead. They probably know Hillary has a better chance against McCain but are caught between a rock and a hard place.

I feel like Idunn about this whole situation. Whatever happens, happens. Hillary is far from dead if she doesn’t win the nomination. 2012 is a very real possibility, and she won’t have to compete against Obama then.

  272. Well said wbboei…and I would consider ANY MSNBC information either a smokescreen or a lie. Period.

  273. would that be in Yucca Mountain, where his friends from Excelon are busy making things glow in the dark?

Ahhhh…I’m starting to connect the dots. Maybe they hired Richardson to be their canary in a coalmine, eh? 😉

“Damn it Bill, put on the suit, get your sorry ass down into the cave, and get us that pic of John Edwards in drag!”

  274. It’s all about timing, we can wait for Edwards to endorse (closer to NC primary) and Hannity needs to space his information on Obama out… to get full effect.

However as I have said Clinton needs to keep Obama on defence till April 22nd (which could prove to be difficult, that’s a life time away in politics).

  275. mj, As to 4, Pelosi wants Obama to win, and she wants Hillary to go away, I agree. What I agree with was the overall point that the Dem establishment is siding with Obama.

  276. Bill “Chunky Money” Richardson

I’m stealing that and passing it off as my own. Fuck it, I don’t own you anything.

  277. From the Time article (do they read here?):

The Florida compromise was also rejected by Obama, who didn’t even put his name on the Michigan ballot in January. Otherwise, not surprisingly, he is keeping sheepishly quiet — and a bit unpresidential — about the whole thing, looking to many as if he is simply trying to run out the clock by raising objections to a proposed revote in Michigan.

  278. Idunn, you do owe me. Didn’t you know that you black people wouldn’t be here except for the largesse of us honkies?

    So typical…..

  279. Listen, enough with the Halperin shit. Do you see Hillary deciding to stop her campaign. Hell we have a huge lead in Pa, leading in WV, tied it up in NC and we are ahead in the National polls.

Obama has fallen from the perch and people are taking a lot harder look at him. Don’t be drawn into this doom and gloom. Damn, you’d think we had a horrible week from the sound of some of you.

Does Hillary sound like she is defeated? HELL NO.

Now let us all work even harder to make this happen.

  280. Did anyone else get this crap? Someone just forwarded to me a long email from MoveOn.org about the FOX attacks on Bambi, how the MSM is unfairly attacking him and they’re sending out a petition that says this:

FOX is a Republican mouthpiece, not a legitimate news organization. Real news organizations must reject FOX’s smears of Barack Obama, not parrot them and distract Americans from the pressing issues of the day.”

    *****
I am livid over this. I emailed the person back with a scathing email. What a bunch of effing dipshits out there!!! I am so sick of this shit!

  281. Wonder how hard it would be to organize a Million Voter March? Florida and Michigan. I know voters would come out in droves BUT how does one go about doing something like that?

Any big organizers out there that could give any heads up?

  282. Dot is right about this. Hillary isn’t quitting. She’s not even slowing down.

I mean, have you seen her schedule? Seriously, if she had one solitary thought about quitting this race, she wouldn’t be working 20 hrs a day like she is. neither would Bill. Neither would Chelsea.

And if I hear one more thing like that from any of ya I swear to Jithendra’s thousands of gods to track your asses down and beat you until we all think John Kerry is pretty.

  283. and for those of you who want to thank Gov Richardson for all those jobs he had

While the subject has come up, I worked in management for several years. I ALWAYS looked askance at applicants who hadn’t stuck with one job for any duration of time.

    I’m just sayin’.

  284. Well, this honky has more birthday celebrating to do. Last night was a warm up. Tonight is the Pub Crawl. I know Hawk can identify. 😀

I have my “I donated my hymen to tsunami relief” on and am ready to kick some ass. Now if I can keep my friends from dragging me to the strip bar and avoid falling down, it will be a great night.

confloyd, some of the Superdelegates are good people, supporting HIllary. We need to encourage them to use their own judgement of who will be the best candidate, instead of being pressured by the new ‘rules’ that Obama is trying to put on them.

  286. I really think Edwards is gonna endorse Hillary. They most likely knew that Richardson was coming out today and they want Edwards endorsement to take up the whole news cycle. I got a gut that he’s not gonna fall in step with the DNC .. they are just too out there on this and I don’t feel that John nor Elizabeth would want to keep votes silenced ..

He’s been in step with Hillary’s message and I think he’ll do the right thing.

Just gut, but I’m not wrong very often.

  287. somebody has to see if olgerman is on oxygen tonight though. Or reckson he’ll just pass on tonights show since it’s “Good Friday”.

Wonder if Bambi will darken the doors of the Rev Wright church this weekend? You know they’ll have to worship and spread some love around and be all nicey, nicey.

  288. I hope Gumby and That Girl take the kids to some normal church this easter sunday. That might give me a stroke from laughing, though.

    Whatever.

  289. Okie…if you had a new and special tshirt for all your birthdays, how many would you still be able to wear?

  290. ROFL! Idunn….somehow the visual of that scene gives me the giggles. I can see BO lookin’ around and over her shoulder all worried and shit it might be full of LOVE in there!

  291. I just meant they are trying to send a signal. For us or against us. I hope Edwards will see through it.

  292. Read this and think next week:

    Read the viewer comments

  293. Whoahh!!! Maybe others here already heard this, but I just read that BHO derisively referred to his racist grandmother as a “typical white woman.” This guy is NUTS!!!!

  294. Oh I think Edwards sees through this. We have a much bigger problem that is, FL and MI.

Some how, Hannity needs to have the “goods” on Obama, so that it takes him out of the race.

  295. Yeah Berkeley..another great soundbyte that will come back to bite him on the ass.

    They just keep coming

  296. will the endorsement of Richardson hurt Hillary? I just found out this and was disappointed. He’s a liar he said he will represent whomever his state went to.

  297. That’s what I figured Berk….

but that story has been out since yesterday afternon, and yes, he is nuts, and it’a ALL OVER RW radio and a fox anchor this morning even walked out because they thought Fox was being “unfair” to Obamalama

No. Why should it? If I recall, NM went to Hillary. Outside of NM, why would Ind, NM, Puerto Rico, NC give a damn who that slob endorses?

  299. I hear those slurs all the time: “you know how those gays are,” “black people are just like that…” yada yada…

Whodathunk that Obama would actual say it out loud.

  300. loved the last line the anchor woman joked “just don’t call me a typical woman, otherwise you’ll be the only one sitting here” LOL!

  301. I still say that if the DNC thinks Obama can win the GE, I’d like to know what they are sniffing!

His wins today have only been made possible because of the AA’s, independents/Republican crossovers, and corrupt caucusing. Her wins have been by true democrats. His wins have been in states that will go Republican in the GE. Her wins have been in states that will go Democratic. His wins have been in tiny little populaces. She has won the big ones. His scandals are huge. Hers are miniscule by comparison.

  302. I have to say that my respect for Steve Doocy shot up top this morning .. he was going toe to toe with Wallace. I think Wallace ought to be reprimanded for taking the show hostage like that also. BUT I do know he is trying to suck an interview out of the chosen one as well.

Some of these media will sell their damn souls for a friggin interview.

  303. JANH .. THAT IS WHAT NEEDS TO BE TOLD TO THE SUPERDELEGATES..THAT IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN SAYING

    I JUST DON’T MENTION SKANDAL.

ALSO, THIS ISN’T SKIMMED MILK POSTING EITHER.

  304. I actually don’t think the DNC thinks Bambi can win on his own merits.

The plan was for the economy to be so bad, the war to be so bad and the overall sour taste of the Bush agenda that the country would be willing to accept ANYBODY.

They have boxed themselves into a neat little corner. The idea was to put forth this AA, and have him win by default to the repubs because the country is so hating right now. That way they can have the “history” on their side .. they put the first AA in, they took one for the team so to speak.

What they didn’t factor in is that he has a lot of unanswered questions…the republicans will not just roll over and the war actually is looking better. The whole agenda of Bush right now is to keep stimulus in the economy so that people won’t be in total depression by November, keep the policy in Iraq as stable as possible and most likely this summer ratchet up the Terror Threat so that people will be a bit afraid again.

Why don’t the DNC get it .. when lile ole me can see the handwriting on the all.

National Security will win out ..

  305. Dot…you are right about the SD’s. Logical arguments why Hillary IS the choice.

And yes, I WOULD take a TYPIICAL WHITE WOMAN to a rally! I would also like everyone here to remember he said “typical white person”

much more broad reaching than just one gender.

And yes, MtDora, I say race card about Richardson. Read his speech. It was about their bond of race, and BO’s addressing of it. It was about his ability to inspire.

Nothing about the fact that he cant box his way out of a paper bag

  306. Birthday greetings. Okie.
    Wbboei,
Tweetie and Ogremann and crew are definitely NOT worth having a stroke over so I’ll keep mucking around in the trenches just for you.. 😉

Tuned in to Hannity to see what he was up to but there was a guest host and he was RADICALLY anti-HRC! Hannity’s so busy bashing BO he doesn’t have time to go after HRC but this other guy’s got a different agenda and was interviewing Beckel (did you know he’s a SD) and Morris Dumpling.
I gotta change my homepage. i am so sick of the non-stop headlines and stories about BO with never a peep about HRC unless it’s to insult her.
ABC news has a link – now that I’m listening to all their talk radio shows maybe I’ll try that.
Tweetie Can’t wait for Hannity to get back. (Can you BELIEVE I am saying that?) *LOL*

  307. dedfg, I agree. Shes winning the national polls, and is gaining some grounds in PA and WV, but seriously she needs to win NC, OR, IN, KY, PR, so to have credibility. But Im worried that Obama is going to use this to his advantage to say something like nearly every reporters have agreed Clinton cannot win this nomination etc etc

  308. I meant I can’t wait for Hannity. I’m sure Tweetie wishes he would expire in the ‘comfy’ chair.

  309. agree. It’s very possible that we won’t be able to convert a single one of them. But we might be able to convert someone they talk to. And if we keep making fun of people who are essentially on our side, that’s a good way to lose an election.

    Gee, ya think? 🙄

  310. you know, I guess I am not listening/reading the same blogs, news shows as you are. I am so hopeful especially after last week. I am not hearing the same things you are.

  311. War Hero vs America/White Hater .. if Obama is the Nominee.

War Hero vs Strong Candidate with National Security Experience .. if Clinton is the nominee.

    ————-

America loves to feel patriotic and we don’t like anyone who hates on us. The Sept 11 anniversary will give the Republicans the perfect opportunity to parade around thier war hero candidate.

The DNC will have to accept that Bambiboy doesn’t have the credentials to stand up toe to toe with McCain. Factor in Mitt Romney as his veep and the Republican base will be at their side in a heartbeat.

Obama will not carry women, Latino, Asians, MiddleClass .. they will stay home if they have to accept him as the nominee ..

  312. I’ve got my fingers crossed that SNL does a great skit this week about this Rev. Wright stuff and brings it full circle.

  313. Well a few weeks ago BMerryfield says that Hillary would be the noiminee, it stated as though he new something we did not.

  314. Here are some more answers to Halperins assertions. His logic is pretty weak. Wonder if someone else wrote this for him.
    ———————————————

Mark Halperin, Politico – Paid shills for Obama?
by rinis74, Fri Mar 21, 2008 at 04:54:50 PM EST

My DD has a front page diary saying the race is over because of what Politico reports as ” some important adviser’s” comment and Time magazine’s inaccurate facts.

Well these are some painful things that Mark Halperin should know.

    1. “She can’t win the nomination without overturning the will of the elected delegates, which will alienate many Democrats.”

Elected delegates represent the will of people – says who? So, what is the will of the people of Texas, for example?

    2. “She can’t win the nomination without a bloody convention battle — after which, even if she won, history and many Democrats would cast her as a villain.”

So is Obama. Even Obama can’t win without a bloody convention if he doesnt secure 2209 delegates( not 2025)

Obama is the villain if he is the nominee after losing 8 or 9 of the 10 biggest delegations and popular vote but still goes on to become the nominee.

    3. “Catching up in the popular vote is not out of the question — but without re-votes in Florida and Michigan it will be almost as impossible as catching up in elected delegates.”

Mark halperin or the media does not get the right to decide if 2.4 million votes from MI and FL should count.

    4. “Nancy Pelosi and other leading members of Congress don’t think she can win and want her to give up. Same with superdelegate-to-the-stars Donna Brazile.”

Nancy Pelosi and Donna Brazile are not the only superdelegates that decide the nominee. There are numerous senators, governers, congressmen and party bosses that back Hillary.

    5. “Obama’s skilled, close-knit staff can do things like silently kill re-votes in Florida and Michigan and not pay a political price.”

He is already paying a political price. If Obama does not set his foot in MI and FL until he gets the nomination, write off these two states in November. Added to this he has hurt the whites in OH and PA. Can someone tell how Obama will win by losing these 4 states in November?

    6. “Many of her supporters — and even some of her staffers — would be relieved (and even delighted) if she quit the race; none of his supporters or staff feel that way. Some think she just might throw in the towel in June if it appears efforts to fight on would hurt Obama’s general election chances.”

Do you have a poll of her supporters( at least 14 million so far who have voted for her) and staffers before declaring ” Many of the supporters will be delighted?”

    7. “The Rev. Wright story notwithstanding, the media still wants Obama to be the nominee — and that has an impact every day.”

This moron wants the media to decide the race!

    8. “Obama might not be able to talk that well about the new global economy, but she (and McCain) can’t either.”

So- what do you imply. – Nobody should be the POTUS?

    9. “Many of the remaining prominent superdelegates want to be for Obama and she (and Harold Ickes) are just barely keeping them from making public commitments to him.”

Unsubstantiated bogus claim. How many superdelegates did you interview before making this claim?

10.” She can’t publicly say more than 2% of all the things she would like to say about race, electability, beating McCain and experience.”

Don’t you worry about that. Wait and see -the media will do it for her, once Obama starts crumbling in PA and all through May.

11.”If she somehow found a way to win the nomination, she would have to offer Obama the veep slot, and she doesn’t want to do that.”

She will probably be waiting for a no from Obama. Obama doesn’t want the slot either. There are ofcourse more qualified candidates willing to take that spot, people who respect and love Hillary like Clark and Bayh or may be even Edwards.

    12. “This is a change election, and Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton can never truly be change.”

Bush- clinton-bUSH had something that hillary doesn’t have and vice-versa. Wait until you see atleast 40 million women come out in November and vote for the First woman POTUS- Is’nt that a historic change?

    13. “Obama is having fun most days, and she isn’t.”

Correct, by saying things like “typical white” about his grandmother.

    14. “Even though her campaign staff is having more fun than it has for a long time, there’s hardly anyone there who, given half a chance, wouldn’t slit Mark Penn’s throat — and such internal dissension won’t help her in the home stretch.”

Mark Penn is now not running the show in the homestrech. Everyone knows that. I wouldn’t be surprised if Carville, Begala and even Dick Morris is roped in the last moment.

  315. …and did I mention that Brian Kilmeade is a wimp for walking off the fox set because he was losing an argument? lol

  316. What makes me see red through all of this is the way Obama arrogantly thinks that no one has the right to vet him at all.

  317. Damn, will someone PLEASE find me a clip of the fox walk offs? That bullshit video set up of Huffpo keeps locking up my computer. 😡

  318. Where does Hillary stand now?

The big picture says she is doing well at this point. Obama just had a terrible week. The week he had is not
just a short-term problem but a severe long-term problem. This Wright matter is like an earthquake whose aftershocks
will be felt for a long time. To put it bluntly, Obama this week became the black candidate. His unfavorability ratings
have risen singificantly since the end of February. His support among independendts has fallen precipitously. His
negatives are rising and will continue to rise.

We have to focus on PA, Indiana, West Virginia, and Kentucky and make sure she wins big in all these states. The
demographics favor her big there. If we can also take North Carolina which will be tough but not impossible because
about 1/3rd of the Democratic primary voters there are AAs it will be huge for us.

We have four more weeks to go before PA. The big media and the far left blogs will do everything they can to help
Obama. We are used to that by now. They will write stories calling for Hillary to drop out, they will write stories
designed to make us pessimistic and lose heart. We cannot fall for their tricks and have to remember it is just their
opinion. Opinions (especially from so called journalists) are like a** holes. Everyone has got one.

The fundamental structure of this campaign changed significantly this week. People from now on will listen to him with
skepticism and maybe even cynicism everytime he talks about hope and unity and change. Until now people gave
him the benefit of the doubt even though he is a typical politician. No more. He will throw money, endorsements,
negative personal attacks, everything at Hillary. Won’t matter one bit. Hillary’s base is strong and committed to her
and people who were undecided just got a dose of reality from Obama/Wright.

Let us keep working hard and remember the big picture. Let us keep winning. SDs, media, and the skeptics will
    follow us at the end.

  319. Brian Kilemeade . . . . . walking off the set is now a debate technique. Very professional. BTW; take a good look at him and tell me there isnt trouble behind those eyes.

  320. the bloom is off the rose. he will be looked at more critically now. forget the polls right now because in National polls especially with Obama injecting race into it .. people will simply lie and it will look like he is gaining. Wait till the people speak in the next races. Hillary just has to keep on message, let him hog the limelight because we know he gets arrogant when he does that.

The silent voice is Hillary’s advantage. Also, the headlines like Yahoo is producing right now

Body blow to Clinton from Obama .. that will only help her. Yes, we’ll play the victim for a while.

  321. TPS, I totally agree. We can do what we can, Hillary can do what she can. If she is not the nominee we will welcome President McCain on January 2009.

If everybody here will commit one hour a day to something .. we can make and are making a difference.

  322. Ugh, why do I suddenly feel like I’m the character of Lieutenant Colonel Kilgore in Apocalypse Now?

  323. i can tell you that obama is more committed to africa and bill richardson is more committe to mexico than USA… good luck americans..

  324. let’s all keep in mind that Hannity has been hinting all week that they STILL have the goods on BO! As much as BO and the MSM want it, this fight ain’t over until Donna Brazille sings!!! Chins up, everyone! Let’s kick some ass!

  325. TPS@6:42: excellent analysis. It isn’t a question of whether but a question of how and you my friend have put your finger on it. Listening to mainstream media right now is about as rewarding as being a marine stuck somewhere is the Pacific in World War II listening to Tokyo Rose or somewhere in France in France listening to Axis Sally.

How about that one ABM 90 if you are listening? You said you were there at D-Day.

  326. You know I truly don’t want bambi running this country, so I hope Hillary takes it to the convention and if she doesnt get it, I personally, at this point don’t give one rats ass what happens to the democratic party. The idiots deserve to go down in flames! Afterall, they gave us the O man, jimminy cricketts he is the scary candidate I have ever seen with the exception of David Duke!
I am for the million person march in Florida and Michigan, but I think we need to march on the DNC.

  327. mj, Joe Scarborough a former republican congressman and now anchor on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.

wbboei, I love your analogy of big media and enemy propaganda.

  328. That’s not true at all about Richardson. He’s a massachusetts liberal. He’s not very connected to mexico at all.

  329. Joe said on NBC Today show that Obama’s ‘typical white person’ will enrage working class voters everywhere
because they don’t like to be called racist. He also said that Obama;s release of BC’s picture with Wright at
a meet and greet at the WH was an ‘amateur mistake’ because it makes Obama look desperate. Surprisingly,
Matt Lauer agreed with him on both these points. It was quite a negative segment for Obama.

  330. Thanks, TPS. That’s why I would ignore this noise about Richardson. Delivered a body blow? The voters don’t give a crap who Richardson endorsed. This won’t even register with most voters.

  331. jithendra, that’s propoganda intended to push Hill out of the race. I have not a clue why you would vote yet.

  332. okay, Obama is JUST NOW saying he is offended by the Hamas thing?

    Another incident of boneheaded mistakes.

  333. mj, I agree, Richardson is just campaign noise.

Remember he dropped out before Nevada because he was afraid that he would lose the
    latino vote to Hillary.

Remember Ted Kennedy and John Kerry couldn’t help Obama in Massachusetts.

Maria Shriver and Oprah couldn’t help in California.

Murtha endorsement in PA is more important because he is very popular
in his conservative sourhwest Pennsylvania district.

  334. Wait, are you saying his church printed this manifesto, and he’s saying he just now saw it? Is that right? Shouldn’t this be big news?

  335. New diary at MyDD, with Obama ADMITTING he heard Wright make controversial statements about US foreign and domestic policy!!!:

    http://www.mydd.com/story/2008/3/21/19254/9670

PLEASE rec this – he is starting to trap himself with his own lies. Help us get the top MyDD spot away from some jackass ‘Hillary knows she can’t win’ diary.

    Thanks in advance! 🙂

  336. OMG.
That clip of the Fox guy walking off set is priceless. And the comment of the co-host was great. it was mumbled and everyone might not have heard it but he said “We gotta tell him (the anchor) to lay off the sanka!” ROTF!

That siad, Why does BO ALWAYS need an INTERPRETER????? Are we to think he doesn’t know how to sat what he wants to say and only the chosen few can enlighten us as to DL’s REAL intentions?

    PULLLEAZZZE! 👿

  337. Great segment on the ABC World News. John Berman went to a packed bowling alley in Allentown, Pennsylvania to ask about Bambi and the Reverend.

He found one guy, ONE GUY, who was even considering voting for Bambi, and he was still very hesitant. Every guy in the place was supporting Hillary. They talked about her experience, and that they had eight great years during President Clinton’s terms in office.

  338. GRRRRRRR – i gotta get another keyboard. I SWEAR those typos aren’t My doing!

    siad-said,
    sat – say

  339. lol, Loved this line from Wonkette:

The point is, no one cares about Bill Richardson, otherwise they would have voted for him. Barack Obama knows this and probably offered Richardson a traveling press secretary’s role with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, which only exists in your imagination.

  340. The Obama campaign countered, “After their top surrogates pushed this story line and Senator Clinton’s campaign outlined this as a central strategy in her plan to overturn the will of Democratic voters, I can see why they wouldn’t want a photo out there that shows the kind of hypocrisy we’ve all come to expect from their campaign.”

EXCUSE ME, BUT WTF??!! Is Camp Bambi really so fucking retarded that they don’t KNOW that this Wright stuff came from Hannity??!!

I’d rather die…then let this imbecile and his not ready for prime time players run this country! In fact, for months now I’ve been saying that I would just sit out the vote if Obama was the nominee. Guess what, Barry? Your idiocy has finally changed my mind.

Welcome me to the McCain train, folks.

  341. well since the WILL OF THE DEMOCRATIC VOTERS is being twarted by Obama because he refuses to accept the way people voted in Michigan and Florida…

I wish somebody from Hillary’s camp would get on the tv now and bring this whole paragraphy up and DISSECT it line by fucking line and let the American people know what the hell is going on.

Talk about bamboozling, hoodwinking .. that is what Obama and his whole campaign is about. He’s saying Fuck Off Florida and Michigan I don’t need your sorry asses.

    Talk about HYPOCRISY.

I HOPE THAT HILLARY TEAM COMES OUT SWINGING ON THIS MONDAY AND CALLS A MAJOR PRESS CONFERENCE AND LETS AMERICA KNOW JUST WHAT THEY ARE TRYING TO DO.

  342. Dobbs still ripping on BO!

Ragging on passport-gate and contemplating Condi’s discomfort sitting at the WH and realizing she has to APOLOGIZE to BO . . . and then HRC . . . and then McCain.

Then Dobbs comes right out and says something like “do you really think it was a coincidence that Richardson came out and endorsed Bo today?”

His guests concurred that Bo was trying to change the dialogue.

Funny as he!! hearing these suits saying stuff like “BO threw his Gramdma under the bus.” ROTFLMFAO!
    dilemn

  343. If Hill’s Pastor printed the Hamas manifesto in her church periodical do you think that would be big news? Hmmm.

  344. I love that Fox is now seeing Obama for what he is. They know if Hillary had said these things, i.e. typical …. person that she would have been tarred and feathered.

  345. Joe Friday, That’s great to hear. Maybe some of our party “leaders” ought to start taking notice of what’s actually happening on the ground.

  346. “Typical White Person” gaining traction. Buttons and tee shirts being on sold on Ebay.

    No way…for real?

  347. What a lovely piece in our monthly periodical, this Hammas manifesto, this bit about terrorism being acceptable, Pastor Wright. I really felt my spirit lifted. WTF? Shouldn’t this be a huge story!

  348. Here is the bottom line for me — until FL and MI are resolved in a way that respects the voters in that state, there is no legitimate nominee, as far as I am concerned. If they force feed Obama to us without resolving that issue, I will pretend there was no Democratic party nominee in Nov.

  349. How come they don’t make “typical mutt” T-shirts, huh? We bi-racial folks are the lowest on the totem pole, I guess. ;(

  350. Yeah, I think in the short term “typical white person” is more damaging to Obama than Wright. It’s all over talk radio.

dot48, I agree with you. Hillary needs to push the FL and MI issue and call out Obama on his stall tactics REALLY HARD.

  351. give it a minute…tick…tick…tick…. Every minute of every day, Bambi puts his foot in his mouth. Every minute of every day, his nannies use a crane to pull it out!

This has been a paid political announcement by: A typical White Person!

  352. Yeah, I think in the short term “typical white person” is more damaging to Obama than Wright.

And even worse was what he said to try to clarify what he meant…”Ummm, what I was referring to is that fact that she’s of a generation, it’s a generational thing.”

Okay fine, “Typical OLD white person then”. LOL!

  353. hey guys, be sure to donate! Hillary needs to raise another million, we are about 600k short, so let’s help raise it!

also be sure to write POSITIVE qualities about Hillary when you write to the superdelegates or what not. In addition, please be sure to write on blogs like http://www.facebook.com or the news such as ABC, CBS, or NBC. I really hope Hillary confronts Obama on the debate about how can he claim to be an uniter when he wont allow the delegates be seated.

Also MAKE CALLS – A LOT OF PEOPLE STILL DONT KNOW WHO WRIGHT IS OR WHAT THE BIG DEAL IS! I was shocked that someone said well its one person’s opinion, not Obama’s. I told this person OBAMA SAT IN THE PEWS for 20 years plus WRIGHT is a close friend of his a spiritual advisor, this person was shocked! In addition, Obama is blocking Michigan or Florida delegates to be seated, if this is the case a DEMOCRAT will LOSE the GE no matter what!

  354. MJ,

The beauty of a tee shirt that says “Typical White Person” is that you don’t need to be either ‘white’ or ‘typical’ to wear it and make a statement.

It’s a metaphor for how BO is the one who is trying to pigeon-hole and marginalize EVERYONE.

I think it’s a riot and in truth I don’t fit into either of those categories either but i would sure as he!! wear the shirt as a badge of honor.

  355. hey guys, be sure to donate! Hillary needs to raise another million, we are about 600k short, so let’s help raise it!

Typical deaf person…always trying to hit someone up for cash. 🙄

  356. cgi.ebay.com/New-TYPICAL-WHITE-PERSON-T-SHIRT_W0QQitemZ380009268735QQihZ025QQcategoryZ82507QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting

  357. Guys, there are a bunch of MyDD diaries that need recs. Don’t argue with the bots. If we ignore them long enough they will go home to Daily Obama.

  358. jta article posted at 7:12 pm

you have got to be kidding me, speaking of their sending the picture of Bill and Wright in the White House!

“The Obama campaign countered, “After their top surrogates pushed this (Wright) story line and Senator Clinton’s campaign outlined this (Wright) as a central strategy in her plan to overturn the will of Democratic voters, I can see why they wouldn’t want a photo out there that shows the kind of hypocrisy we’ve all come to expect from their campaign.””

  359. mj, texan4hilalry, yes Obama’s pastor printed the Hamas manifesto in his bulletin.

We should spread this story and post it everywhere.

B merry had it on RezkoWatch and linfar tried to post it on MyDD.

This is the next big story and we have to push it and send it everywhere.

  360. Ohhhhhhh! NOW I get why Humpty Dumpty endorsed BO today. KO needed cover for his ridiculous HRC passport-conspiracy theory. Humpty is KO’s guest.

Guess KO is off the hook. Dumpty trumps the need to backtrack on last night’s allegations. A REAL journalist would retract his statements, offer an apology, something.

  361. I gotta hand it to the typical white person t-shirt entrepreneur on EBAY….

Good old American Capitalism. I’m getting one too. Typical Gay Me.

I wish I had had the screen print equipment! LOL….this guy rocks! I’ll be happy to pay for his ambition!

    Typical White Person….

  362. thepage.time.com/2008/03/21/obama-i%e2%80%99ve-been-in-pews-for-some-wright-controversial-remarks/

Obama: I’ve Been in Pews for Some Wright Controversial Remarks

    Friday, March 21st, 2008

In most specific explanation yet, tells reporters in Portland, Oregon he was present during pastor’s condemnation of unspecified U.S. foreign, domestic policies but was unaware of some more extreme views such as his thoughts on AIDS and his saying “God damn America” as shown in videos.

Added: “There’s no doubt that we’ve had a turbulent couple of weeks…but we’ve had turbulent weeks in the past. People just don’t remember them.”

Plus: Tries to clarify “typical white person” comment from speech, says it was a “continuation of the broader point that I made.”

  363. TPS…I sent the Hammas story to 800 news outlets yesterday

including the jta above. I copied the Rezko version and linked it beack to B Merry’s Rezko page

  364. EBAY TYPICAL WHITE PERSON Tshirts, buttons, etc.

    search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=typical+white+person&category0=

  365. Wow, thanks SpaceGirlArt, amazing job.

Now, we bootstrap on the more mainstream outlets publishing this.

  366. Idunn, Your sentence with typo cracked me up, lol:

Actually, wearing the “typical white person” would play even funnier on me.

  367. (Obama) added: “There’s no doubt that we’ve had a turbulent couple of weeks…but we’ve had turbulent weeks in the past. People just don’t remember them.”

Boy is Obama going to be surprised if he really thinks people won’t remember the Wright issue…must be his campaign staff trying to reassure him…

  368. Obama shoul wear a t-shirt that says ‘TYPICAL STUPID PERSON’ if he thinks the Wright story is going to go away.

  369. TPS…this is the next story that needs to go viral. The Portland interview.

Hi I am Barack Obama and I lied about my hearing ANYTHING of controversy in my pastor’s non-controversial church about anti-Americanism, although, there were those times that I did hear it, but people forget about that stuff, so let’s move on.”

  370. yeah, if he thinks people won’t remember Wright … WRONG. Dead wrong. American’s don’t forget our enemies who hate us and want to kill us and have GodDamn us.

  371. This Richardson endorsement is no biggie. Besides, one thing the world learned from the Kerry endorsement is that Obama waits to roll out endorsements until he’s in hot water. (At the time, Kerry said “I was ready to endorse earlier, but they told me to wait until they needed it”). Sure enough, here’s Obama again, in scalding hot water over Jeremiah Wright, and so he’s trying to distract everyone with yet another pointless endorsement.

  372. SpaceGirlArt, agreed, we have to also keep pushing the Hamas manifesto story. Stories like this have the capacity to shock people.
We have to keep sending this to Lou Dobbs. He is a very patriotic American and he won’t like this one bit.

  373. We also need to get the full video clip that Rush played of Kerry today. I sent him a short version yesterday, and was thrilled to hear an even longer version on Rush today. Kerry was even more obnoxious than usual and he made my jaw drop

  374. I think the thing that felt best is that Laura Ingraham…after doing Hammas…she did Rezko! Then did Hammas AGAIN!

THANKS LAURA if you are out there!

  375. Meiyingsu,
just my pet name for Richardson.
brazille saying BO was bold and brave to present the race speech and he did America a favor. *LOL*
Tweetie trying to link the Haggy-McCain thing with Wright-BO and spinning like a top to get the logic to all work out.
KO congratulating BO on surviving the week and going off on a tangent about how it is mathemeatically inpossible for HRC to win and if she were another candidate she would have been forced to drop out.
Bill-O reporting on HRC reporters boycotting DailyKos (coming up next) and crowing, “I told you so.”
I think I’m gonna haveta take a break and watch some PBR bull riding. Seeing Copperhead Slinger and Angel of Death fling championship riders off their backs I’ll be thinking of HRC doing the same to BO. I know she’s a stinger spider but man she’s stubborn. i LIKE that.

  376. basil .. catch figure skating over on espn .. talk about ripping your heart out, get attached to those gals. Olympics caused me to age at least 10 years

  377. OK GANG…this is what we are here for….

someone with the DEM FOR A DAY info PLEASE GO HERE and counter the LIMBAUGH/OHIO Crossover voting stuff. It is being called “Clinton’s Dirty tactics”

also her FIRST LADY SUPPORT of NAFTA.

I don;t have this stuff. You need to register, but it’s no big deal

PLEASE WE NEED TO DO THIS. This is an offshoot from O’Reilly site and APPEALING TO PA VOTERS

  378. dedfg .. mao beautiful..one mistake on spiral. I love, love her skating. Kosnter beat her though over the spiral. YuNa fell on lutz, just not really ready to be there from her injury.

  379. I am watching Worlds ice skating. I guess that makes me a frustrated white bitch.

“KO congratulating BO on surviving the week” — with KO’s help!!

  380. Didn’t someone post Jemhu Greene’s contact info the other day? The Clinton Supporter who appears on O’Reilly? I want to write her a thank you note for speaking out about the media and Daily Kos

  381. “KO congratulating BO on surviving the week” — with KO’s help!!

too early to know BHO survived the week.

  382. MtDora…he said that they had had a few rough weeks in th epast, and no one remembered what THEY were about…implying no one will remember this one either

    FOOL that he is!

  383. birdgal: me too….I watched the whole thing online. I just want to make sure I don’t spoil for anybody.

  384. dang I miss Kwan, Slute and Cohen though. Cop has changed things a lot.

Yeah, how does Olgerman knows if he survived the week…they are so in the tank for that empty suit I wish they’d just strip off over there and have a gang bang on national tv and get it over with. I’ll never watch that bunch again. Biggest loser on cable tv .. literally, their ratings stink worse than the shit Pelosi eating.

BTW, did you see plastic woman over in wherever meeting with the DaliLami(sp).. what right does she have to be over there .. wasting our money and accomplishing friggin nothing. That byotch.

  385. Dot: Skating is not the same, without Kwan, Slute, and Cohen. Kimmie has grown on me, but she is having a rough year.

KO, I used to like, but I have not watched him, since Super Tuesday, when I realized he was in the tank for BO.

BO may want this to die down, but if he gets the nomination, it will come back to bite him in the butt. I don’t think, he is electable against McCain.

  386. You should try phone banking and reading figure skating play by play at the same time. Bizarre. Someone said, what does a lutz have to do with this? j/k

  387. dot, lol

I am so tired of identity politics, and putting people in categories.

BO has set us back 50 years.

  388. HHey gang…I think I found us another GREAT Hill Supporter at the grocery store tonight. She commented on my A Woman’s Place is in the House and we got to talking. I was shocked when she told me she was a huge Hillary supporter, as was her husband, a big trial atty here. They are in the tank for her all the way, and do a lot in Dem Politics in Florida. He is up in the Capital a lot just to mash it up. Anyway…I was shocked because she “looked like a typical republican” LOL

anyway, I gave her my name and number and told her about Hillis44 and asked her husband to call me. We could use some legal and organizational help if something happens (or doesn’t) in Fla, and it will be another great fighter here for Hillary!

  389. dayum..girl. Sebesyten looks more like Irina every day, down to the costume. Gawd she just needs her consistency. First time I’ve seen her this year .. my god she is Irina’s clone (other than the falls) and the speed, and the spins. Well forget it, she just looks like Irina and copies her programs. you know Irina is her idol LOL

  390. Space .. I just said today that I wish we could get some organizing in Florida for a MillionVoterMarch .. maybe he could put us in touch with someone who could help.

  391. yeah, and we’re not talking about Bambi’s granny. You know yesterday when the granny comments came up I immediately thought about GidgetGranny.

The DNC has promised MSNBC and CNN something..to be in the tank that bad, got to be.

  392. Disenfranchising MI and FL, is going to be very costly for the DNC. It is outrageous, that they are getting away with it. Disregarding the primaries, and giving more weight to the undemocratic caucuses. It shocks me everyday, that this is happening.

BO’s arrogance and dismissiveness are two qualities, among the many, that I really dislike.

KImmie is so cute. Go Kimmie!

  393. How is Rush telling Repubs to vote for Hillary a “dirty tactic” by Hillary? Like she told him to do that, lol?

  394. Birdgal, yes I sometimes think we must be living in the old Soviet Union. I just cannot fathom how 2 whole states in our country will be thrown out like garbage. Yes, costly in GE and I will leave the party if Hillary is robbed by these cronies.

  395. Dot: The DNC has promised MSNBC and CNN something..to be in the tank that bad, got to be.

yeah, makes you really wonder. I’ve heard good theories here but you never really know.

p.s. I thought the same thing about granny when it was first mentioned. lol

  396. Ok, first, sorry Jen, I was thinking of Michigander.

Second, I am hearing that dispicable loser, Richardson, bashed Hill’s wins in OH and TX, and said he saw how divisive she was??? Character assassination!

  397. Dot: I will leave the party, if FL and MI are not counted. It is a travesty, and I’m surprised that people are getting away with it. Hillary is not stealing the election, BO and company are stealing it, by discounting the primaries that would benefit Hillary, and putting out such vile stories, that she is the one stealing the election. What a crock of s***. Are people really that dumb, not to recognize it?

Kimmie did well, especially considering what happened at Nationals.

  398. Dot, I saw that when I was reviewing Big Pink. I thought of that when I was talking to her, so let’s see if he calls or shows up here. She said he allows his offices to be used for phone banks and everything, so he is big time involved in the Dems here. She said SHE will not vote for OObama either. It will be McCain. He is not sure, but doesn’t like obama. And I bet they drink Lattes. She was driving a new white caddy

  399. Does anyone have a link to a new ABC article saying Obama is going on vacation to the Virgin Islands? It was mentioned over at TM.

  400. Estrich, Fox said conservatives now say that Obama much easier to beat than Hillary! WTFU DNC.

Damn, Hillary’s camp needs to seize on that press statement and that asshole Richardson .. I hope he gets ass cancer.

  401. Mj: how was Hillary divisive in OH and Tx? The 3 a.m ad? That was good politics, and helped to raise some needed questions. Nafta-gate was BO’s campaign’s doing, not Hillary. Did anyone, ever think, that perhaps, the voters did not want BO? Bo’s campaign has been the most divisive, if I’ve ever seen one.

  402. would it be really hateful of me to hope for a planecrash? I shouldn’t say that cause my hubby just came in from witnessing a motorcycle accident with a fatality. We’ve been at each others throats all day .. this stress is getting to me

  403. AS a territory, does VI have delegates?

I can PROMISE YOU, when I lived in St. Thomas, VI politics THE MOST CORRUPT EVER

  404. Just take a look at the repulsive bunch of hired guns that Hillary has to fight in order to get the nomination.

MSNBC-CNN-FOX-All the printed rags-RIGHT WING RADIO_GOOD OL’ BOYS CLUB-JEALOUS WOMEN-HUNDREDS of WANNA-BE ,NEVER CAN BE-ANCHORS _RACIST CULT FOLLOWERS_YOUNG CONFUSED-KIDS that watch too much TV and don’t have a clue about what is happening to our Country and could care less about seriousness and dangerous world that is being slowly but surely becoming a POWDER KEG of HATE GREED and LAWLESSNESS. OBAMA ,you and your followers are a threat to our FREEDOM and to all the progress that has been made since MLK turned the Tide and spread the GOSPEL LOVE and the need to enjoy the GOD given rights of every RACE RELIGION and COLOR. BHO,the IDES of MARCH are have become a reality that you must acknowledge NOW!!!!.

    By ABM90

  405. How is Rush telling Repubs to vote for Hillary a “dirty tactic” by Hillary?

Ummm…the same way Hannity calling him out on Wright is a dirty tactic by HRC? I dunno…Obamatons are just drooling retards, I guess.

  406. dot: don’t stress, just enjoy watching the comp tonight. It’s a long aggravating road, but when Hillary win’s the nomination, it will all be worth it!

I think kimmie will rock next year.

  407. I think the voters are getting serious, as they usually do during an election.

They’re realizing this election is serious, and not the same as voting for American Idol.

  408. Next week Hillary has to BRING IT and take these statements HEAD ON into the press and slay them.

There is NEVER anybody on the tv for Hillary.

Jack Kemp trying to act all saintly over beating Obama on the “issues”. Yeah, right. I can just see those 527’s running with Mr. Wrights hate speech.

WTF is wrong with some of these people. Do they WANT to have a president who hates america and sets in the friggin pews and hears this racist shit and just give him the pass off.

I really believe this guy is the antichrist.

  409. Dot: BO received 5 delegates from Virgin Islands, Hillary 1, on super Tuesday.

    CNN ticker:

Obama camp: Clinton would be deeply “flawed.” I didn’t click on the story; no need to give it more coverage.

  410. so….the economy can go down the tubes, the terrorists can kill us, healthcare can wait…as long as we all have a dialogue about race “Black Rage and Whit Anger” to quote Bradley

    WTF!!!

  411. Dot: go back to skating.

dedfg: I hope Kimmie continues to skate next year. But, I have my doubts, new and younger competition.

  412. all this negativity from the campaign of hope and change and unity.

sounds like what bill bradley said. now they combing old stories.

She needs to do a full blitz of every show next week and take these statements and lay it out to the people.

  413. Jack Kemp was Bob Dole’s VP running mate.

As to flawed humans, find me one that’s not.

The ones who pretend not to be are the worst.

  414. sorry ya’ll, comment above. It was mean. I do despise him though and he’d never get one fcuking vote from me.

Boy they are really sweating it seems — they want to take our girl out and we can’t let it happen.

She needs to address these outright lies by his campaign though.

Take the list and start checking them off…one by one.

Buy friggin air time if she has to. We’ll pony up if I have to sell my soul

  415. dot, “She needs to do a full blitz of every show next week and take these statements and lay it out to the people.”

    i TOTALLY AGREE

  416. My two cents on Richardson: the remaining states don’t have significant Hispanic populations. Before TX this would have had an impact.

Now, we need to get those rumors about Gov. Richardson’s habit of manhandling his female staff out. *uck this loser, he owes his career to the Clintons.

  417. She needs to address this next week in a major way.

He got free air time for his “race’ speech .. she should ask for rebuttal time or something and set this shit straight.

  418. I HATE it that they keep saying “if this is TAKEN AWAY FROM HIM’ “If this is STOLEN from him”

    WTF

    He has not won
    he is a liar
    he is a crook
    he is a racist

  419. I’m sorry, I just got back from tending to the diary.

People have asked: How do I recommend a diary at MyDD?

I think you have to be a registered member, but I’m not sure. What has been happening, and this happens all the time on Kos, is that Obamatrons create tons of fake accounts so they can rec anti-Clinton diaries and send them to the top of the rec list, and then when media people come in they think “Wow, another Obama-loving blog.”

It’s total BS, and they are doing it at MyDD now.

You go into the diary and on the right-hand side, a little bit down while scrolling, there is a gray rectangular box which says “Recommend.” You just click that, and that’s it — it’s recommended.

If you don’t have an account, you can try rec’ing without one, but I think you need to have an account. This is one of the reasons (troll-rating is the other) why a lot of Kossacks are making multiple accounts on the site.

I want to thank those who rec’d the diary. It was not as good as it should have been when I first posted it, but I have made changes and now it is much more complete and clear. If you still want to help out, here’s the link:

    http://www.mydd.com/story/2008/3/21/19254/9670

Right now the diary is #4 on the rec list. That POS anti-Hillary diary is still #1.

Thanks for the help, all. 🙂 I donated more today, and I got to see Bill C speak two days ago here in PA (it was great!). Let’s just keep helping our girl!

    *thumbs up*

  420. the voting isn’t over and he is the one who REFUSES to allow Florida and Michigan to count.

Goddamn she needs some people out there BUT if they won’t allow them to come on she just will have to take HER case straight to the people.

Call a press conference and let em eat humble pie. Address every fcucking lie that’s been put out there today.

They see her getting leads in these states and they are afraid.

BUT she cannot let this stuff stay out there.

SHE needs to take them on head on .. one day only.

I see what they are attempting .. get HER off message for a week or so.

She needs to ADDRESS it and hope it’ll get played.

  421. dot…lawschooldem said she/he has a connection within the campaign that is taking suggestions

I have email address if you drop me a note, I’ll send it

  422. on 2nd thought.. everybody is going off on Easter holiday. Maybe I’m stressing.

Most likely better off to ignore their petty rants..but these LIES and trying to make people believe this is being STOLEN from him. He does not have ENOUGH delegates to WIN and neither does Hillary.

  423. space: I received and e-mail today, which said, “A Speech Like Lincoln’s.” Needless to say, it was deleted and not read. A former co-worker, who is an obamabot or ‘latte liberal’ sent it to me. I’m on her mailing list for jokes, but some of them have been political, which I have just deleted. I may have to ask, to be taken off her list, if this continues. I do find it offensive.

  424. I don’t want a “dialogue” from my president, I want someone who can fix the economy and get us universal health care.

  425. well the Hatchet jobs are out in full force tonight.

Must be bambi camp is getting really, really worried.

Maybe we should let TeamHillary handle this .. I’m shooting off cause I hate fucking liars. I hope these assholes get ass cancer.

  426. Paula, yes. That is right before he recalled his own great speech where he too recalled he had an old white aunt that said things that offended him

  427. dot : I don’t watch or read anything that I know will be a real downer….unless I can comment on it. focus on the good!

  428. Fact Check: What Bill Clinton Said In Charlotte
    Send to a Friend »

Some are suggesting that the following remark by President Clinton was intended as a personal attack:

I think it would be a great thing if we had an election year where you had two people who loved this country and were devoted to the interest of this country and people could actually ask themselves who is right on these issues, instead of all this other stuff that always seems to intrude itself on our politics
Actually, as is indicated by the quote itself, President Clinton was talking about the need to talk about issues, rather than falsely questioning any candidate’s patriotism.

He was lamenting that these kind of distractions “always seems to intrude” on political campaigns. This is consistent with his criticism of the “politics of personal destruction,” which dates back 16 years.

    3/21/2008 5:07:42 PM #

  429. Jerome Armstrong just laid a front-page smackdown over at MyDD because of all the stupid troll-rating and calling out of people in diary titles on the site. He doesn’t want it to become like The Great Orange Satan site has been lately, and I don’t blame him.

A toast to Jerome, for sanity!

    *tink*

  430. Where do y’all want to move to and set up a commune with Hillary and Bill when they skewer this country with this stupid DNC plan for white guilt?

AND WTF is SO MUCH TALK ABOUT RELIGION even DOING in the Presidential race?

Ya don’t hear Hillary and McCain running around talking about Black Goc v White God.

I cannot believe after eight years of Bush…this is what we get from the DNC

  431. dedfg .. I did the same thing during Olympic! I was bouncing off the walls, fighting mad, made enemies and then got hit with breast cancer. I really should not be wishing stuff on people, it really is mean of me and I know better.

I hate to see a great woman trying to be took down by a bunch of pricks

  432. Clue to MSM:

When Bill Clinton says something about a candidate, it is not meant to be a slam at some other candidate.

  433. evidently the dnc does not count that Hillary supporters will not take this crap lying down. My vote will go to the enemy if I have to .. just out of spite. They don’t want to go down that road with mass voters and that is where this is headed.

  434. dot: slowly but surely we are winning this thing…the tide is turning for obama and all the articles being written now show their panic.

  435. MtDora…I have posted there. The Delegate from Tampa who I mentioned runs that site and he promised me we will be up and active when need be. Last time I was there it looked like a wasteland. It SHOULD be the Florida Big Pink…but I don;t know enough about managing websites to take it over

  436. Meiyingsu

that MSNBC post was the wone BlueDem was talking about earlier. Let’s leave that alone. The opposition will try and spin it negative. Let it die.

  437. right I agree it does seem kinda slow…. I think we should seriously consider going up to Tallahasee on a weekend or something to protest at the state capital we would get media attention and the likes saying it should not BE UP TO DNC or OBAMA or HILLARY to have our VOICES HEARD BECAUSE OUR VOICES WERE HEARD

  438. so Obama doesnt care about the ordinary Americans so he has time to go on a vacation. Hmm… for the people or for himself

  439. MtDora…a weekend wont be good. We need to go when the Legislature is in session and the gov is at home.

But we really need to ORGANIZE it

get THOUSANDS of people ther, and that takes permitting and stuff. Tallahassee is NOWHERE near MOST of the State, so will get less people…so maybe Tampa or Orlando or someplace BIG…

    S. Florida has more dems, but we would need to look at the election district maps to see where we can get the most help. This STILL IS a Red State

  440. meiyingsu,

    Don’t listen to the SpaceCadet.

She somehow has the audacity to tell you to leave something alone
and let something die that none other than William Jefferson Clinton
    WANTS out there.

Like this campaign wasn’t annoying enough. Unreal.

  441. Would there be any possible way what to do about Florida could be decided upon on March 28th ?

I know that’s a weird question, but has anyone heard anything to this effect? Is there a dealine for this to be decided? And again, I know it’s a weird question. Don’t ask.

  442. Bill Moyers is a no-miss tonight on PBS. If the 5th year anniversary has of the Iraq invasion has not already invaded your holiday, I hope this does.

  443. geez, david gergan just said it was an act of bravery for richardson to endorse clinton because they made his career.

I think it shows a lack of character.

  444. Hey everyone, the counter is up over $420,000 now — in just hours.

I challenge everyone here tonight to $11.11. I know it’s not much but right now I’m nearing end of month and I’ll have to go over on another card to do this.

Because she is the ONE. .

  445. best way to organize a march is to contact a large organization and pitch the idea…. try a union that has already endorsed Hill like AFSCME or the teachers or nurses unions!!

  446. Don’t listen to the SpaceCadet.

Blue Dem, seriously…you’re too intelligent to stoop to name calling. Knock it off.

  447. Idunn, Michigan was supposed to allocate its delegates on March 29 based on the january election.

I did read somewhere that they are postponing that decision to see if they can come up with
    redo there.

  448. Great post by Tom Watson:

    tomwatson.typepad.com/tom_watson/2008/03/the-48-state-st.html

Further, if Obama does succeed in running out the clock – as his campaign is now clearly intent on doing – he guarantees that a certain portion of Democratic primary voters will never view his nomination as legitimate. He’s giving ardent Clinton supporters an easy structural excuse to stay home. And he’s playing directly into the hands of right-wing critics who will argue he’s gotten a free pass on the back of fancy rhetoric, the moist media lovefest, and the clever exploitation of the Democrats’ proportional delegate system.

  449. Richardson ..brave. Don’t think so. He’s a friggin coward, he has to stick in with the ole boyz club. How much bravery does it take to stay with the establishment.

    These … men … do…not….have….balls…

  450. time to turn off cnn. lol….it’s my routine now. Listen for one minute, get disgusted, turn to another channel.

  451. I think the Richardson endorsement fell on deaf ears across America…. especially on Easter weekend….everyone I know is still in awe over those Wright tapes…. THAT is what people will be talking about this weekend. Most people I know could care less about Richardson.

  452. monkey, thanks. Maybe when the lawyer contacts me he can help. His wife said he is in Tallahassee all the time, and he is not a pid lobbiest. He just loves politics and stays very involved. I met Bill Nelson doing Disaster work a few times in 2004, but he wouldn’t remember me I dont think. But the lawyer may know him. I can see what I can find out.

  453. Idunn, Michigan was supposed to allocate its delegates on March 29 based on the january election.

    Wow. VERY interesting, TPS. Thanks.

One more question, is there anyway Florida could be decided around the same time? Again, I realize this is an odd question. I honestly don’t understand the delegate system, but I’m trying to make sense of something else.

  454. “david gergan just said it was an act of bravery for richardson to endorse clinton because they made his career”

    What dot48 said about this.

He was a member of Congress first, and he’s been recruited by the Congressional Boys Club.

  455. richardson endorsement politically calculated and shows his own ambitions (because he did not go the way of the state)

  456. When I was seeing Richardson with his new beard and Obama today on the podium….I thought a lot of those typically white people would feel pretty uncomfortable with that picture

  457. Idunn, see below:

A Faint Heart Beats In Michigan
    21 Mar 2008 12:35 pm

The state Democratic Party has decided to postpone the slating of its delegates, which had previously been scheduled for March 29. They’d do that only if they really intended to keep fighting for a new primary of some sort.

    marcambinder.theatlantic.com/archives/2008/03/a_faint_heart_beats_in_michiga.php

  458. well, I think Dot has some great intuition…. I think the other big shoe will definitely drop soon for BO… I think Hannity and friends are being a little strategic like a boxing match and giving a few good jabs and are setting up for the knock-out… I think they’ll be showing Bambi in the pews soon and Bambi knows it!

  459. The 28th is a BIG day for HRC (assuming her info is correct). Master strategizers, brilliant communications and advisors at their professional best. Don’t ask me what the hell that means exactly, but mark the date.

  460. Thanks Monkey.

    DEDFG…..

I think Richardsons endorsement and his comment a few weks back of “it’s ONLY 1%” (talking about Hillary’s New Mexico win) put the nail in the coffin of the SD argument from Pelosi and Brazile about the people’s choice

  461. IDunn,
See, that’s where you miss the point. The problem isn’t having words, or my using a nickname toward another poster (derogatory or not).

The problem is people here directing other people what they can and cannot say or interpret, what they should and should not post.

Particularly when they’re the first to PIOUSLY assign motive to others, and *** ESPECIALLY when they’re wrong on the issue in question.

So please, send YOUR instructions to SpaceGirl, and the fortunate few whose screennames I can’t remember who also WRONGLY ganged up on me. My last post of the month, so you won’t have to worry.

  462. As far as bambi goes…nothing I can see of any import to us until mid June, specifically June 26. That’s a day of chaos and major end cycles. Bad bad news for him.

  463. The Obama camp wants to steer it to a caucus in Michigan. Watch him all of a sudden agree to that and he can’t agree to a primary. No way.

  464. Hi Yall,

Bambi is going to be in town tomorrow. I wish I could find a chicken suit! I will be outside with a sign urging him to show his patriotism by dropping out of the race.

  465. I think Hill needs to address this “divisive” bs. She has the most diverse coalition in Democratic history. She wants to be president of all the people. I wish african americans would just vote the best candidate. I really feel BO has drummed up race for political advantage, and it’s wrong.

  466. Maybe bambi drops out next Friday and on june 26 he’ll find out shells has been cheating on him with Jeremiah Wright.

  467. I’m fund raising for Hillary. If you want to make a donation, please consider my Hill Raiser account. Thank you very much.

    contribute.hillaryclinton.com/form.html?sc=ac0&rc=7M5F

  468. The problem is people here directing other people what they can and cannot say or interpret, what they should and should not post.

I fight that battle myself, Blue Dem. And I’m not in the least shy about telling people what I will and will not put up with. I’m simply suggesting that name calling benefits no-one, least of all you. If anything, it only serves to detract from the validity of your argument, imo.

Of course, you’re free to take my words to heart, or tell me to mind my own business. Either way, I’m good. 🙂

  469. mj, If she talks about her coalition, all the press will do is point out how it doesn’t include AA voters. You know how the MSM works.

  470. Bald Mountain got rather flat on me .. gosh now the Swiss are miming. Can you tell I’ve watched not much IceDance this year.

  471. Dot:Can you tell I’ve watched not much IceDance this year.
…and I was going to ask you what you thought of the results this year. lol

  472. well all I think I’m going to take a couple Valium, an Ambien and a Soma and knock myself out. I still got plenty good drugs in this house –

  473. tcbe – WOW! What an awesome op/ed! 6,000 people to see Hill. That’s awesome! do you live near there in IN?

  474. dedfg .. too bad about Tanith and Ben. That fall in cd looked like it shook her and she is usually so confident. The pressure though to get the US that darn gold.

  475. when I mentioned in the above post that richardson was just concerned about his own personal ambitions… I posted it because finally a clinton supporter was allowed on cnn and that is what she said.

I agree, he went back on his word…..sound familiar with someone else?

  476. I forgot to add;

Could anything be more laughable than a poster who thinks they can direct traffic after Bill Clinton speaks directly into a microphone – about something which he obviously wants the world to know & consider – and that poster scolding others not to repeat it because then somehow, from the message boards of Hillaryis44, it will become “an issue” that will eat up news cycles and harm the campaign?

Think of laughable that is!!! Not to mention the point I made earlier with regard to those statements, which is that they were no accident.

Forgive me, but if I have to choose between who I trust to direct this campaign – micro, macro, you name it – I’ll go with Bill Clinton every time.

For SpaceJunk to suggest otherwise reaches a level of audacity not even approached by Axelrod & Obama – and that’s saying something!

    Ok, now I’m done.

  477. The people I phone banked with last two days said Obama ads running in PA.

Hillary is collecting $ still to combat this. Major fundraising going on in next weeks though but she still needs major dough.

  478. Paula Says:

    March 21st, 2008 at 10:25 pm
mj, If she talks about her coalition, all the press will do is point out how it doesn’t include AA voters. You know how the MSM works.

So what is she supposed to do? Just sit back and let them say this “divisive” code about er until the next primary?

  479. Obama knows he’s got 99 % of the black vote. Plus, he’s got the youth, the latte liberals and the hard left and “progressives” (think kos) who even if he farts in their faces will extoll the perfume of his flatulence.

All thats missing from the equation is the hispanic vote. He’s also a little worried about the fallout from the Wright thing on the white vote so he wants to compensate that. So he goes begging to Bill “is experience a leper?” Richardson, whose eyes light up , because being the greedy opportunistic jerk that he is, he gets to be VP. Too bad Bill “Iowa caucus are mandated by God to be first in nation” Richardson doesnt realize that even the hispanics are laughing at him.

  480. TCB…nice story link. Thanks!

I sent it to Reuters and AP and said “Please get this out. One nice story about Hillary Clinton is not going to kill you, is it?” LOL

  481. BlueDem, Ok, fine, we get it, you don’t care for spacegirl, but lot’s of us do. Can you please not call her names?

  482. Ok everyone! Lets keep Hillary going through our donations!!!! Always add the .44 to let her know we are here for her.

  483. She has the latino vote, the asian vote, the jewish vote, the LGBT vote. It’s not as simple as what you say.

  484. Interesting comment I found:

    March 21st, 2008 10:32 pm ET

Despite Barack Obama’s compelling speech about racism, he did not tell the nation that Jeremiah Wright was lying when he said that the government brought AIDS to this country to cause genocide in the black community.

As publisher of two authoritative peer reviewed journals, AIDS RESEARCH AND HUMAN RETROVIRUSES and

AIDS PATIENT CARE AND STDs, I know well how hard the medical community has worked to dispel this rumor, which has been rampant among African American black men and women. For Barack Obama not to set that record straight is unconscionable and irresponsible.

  485. I just posted at Anglachelg’s:

Heh. About Wright sometime writing something about someone called Farrakin(sp?) or Hamas (isn’t that made with garbanzo beans?)….

In an early debate, in quite a different connection, Hillary said something like, “The American people don’t care what one person they never heard of said about some other person they never heard of.”

    I’ve heard of God.

  486. MJ,

I liked SpaceGirl just fine (in fact I enjoyed our back-n-forth quite a bit) before she saw fit to question my loyalties with ZERO foundation.

    That was fucking unforgiveable.

And the rest of the low lives here that jumped on me whose screennames I can’t remember deserve a good smack too.

    Now leave me alone!

  487. TPS, wrt 3/28 I have no idea why I thought of Florida or Michigan right off the bat (well actually, only Florida came to mind). Maybe I came to that simply because we’ve had so much discussion about the FL delegates in here over the last week. But I think I latched on to that because the key words here are “strategy” “communications” and “advisors”.

I dunno. But that’s all I can offer.

  488. BlueDem, it’s happened to me too. But let’s move past that. There are more important things at stake. I want your impression. What about this “divisiveness” thing? This is code for somehow, I don’t know, forcing non-african americans to vote for her. How can she confront that? Because I can tell you Donna Brazile and Pelosi and the other DNC hacks are trying to frighten SDs that she’s causing “civil war”.

  489. Jamaal Simmons is a great big dickhead. I am so sick of this Clinton slamming. They are using the old Rove playbook, say something enough times and it becomes true. Argh!

  490. BlueDem…I will say this for the last time so you might stop disrupting this board. Your anger and your self-righteousness is over the top. I DID have reason and I DID have foundation. It is NOT something I pulled out of my ass. But rather than talking about it, you started RIGHT IN on the Character Assassination, accusing me of all types of behavior in my PERSONAL life.

This, after you one night “asked if you could watch” when you found out I was a gay woman. A question that is neither original nor in the least bit endearing.

You now go on and on about it, yet that was weeks ago. Your indignation is EXACTLY LIKE the reactions of Obama supporters, in that you attack the PERSON, not the THOUGHT. You now come here to bash those others, whose names you cannot remember, but feel too did you a great injustice by even QUESTIONING something about you. Again, the similarities to the opposition TO ME is striking.

I will respect that you are a Hillary supporter, and you may post what you like. But to PERSONALLY ATTACK those you do not know, whose work YOU do not know of, is damning the EXACT SAME THING that you are so offended by.

Now, NO ONE HERE is bothering you. So leaving you alone will not be hard. I ask, that for me, you do the same.

  491. Hello all! I see very few old people. The only one I recognize is “mj”. I visit the site everyday & read every post. I wanted to wait until something drastic happened to post again. I have hit my rock bottom as far as how things have turned out for Hillary… I am still trying very hard to come to terms with it!
Guys, there is no way on earth I will ever vote for Obama. I will go vote for Mccain and I will hope he wins the GE. Dems screwed it up again! I don’t think they deserve to win ever! If BO wins that will be the saddest day for me. Seriously!

  492. I wonder what BJQ Michelle Obama is wearing today? The mink coat mentioned in the New Yorker article, or a new affair designed by her personal fashion consultant in Chicago, Illinois? Michelle leads a very difficult life, everyone, and she deserves our pity. Besides, we are all complacent sloths who should enter the helping industry she touted in economically depressed Zanesville, Ohio. We should learn to serve BJQ Michelle Hussein Obama. After all, we owe it to her, her housekeeper, her landscaper, her piano teacher, her fashion designer, her camp counselors and her personal trainer. BJQ Michelle deserves more.

  493. Blue Democrat,

I hope you decide to stay and post. I think you have a lot to say that is valid and of interest. I’m not into name calling so I don’t agree with that, but I also cringe whenever anyone accuses someone of being a troll with little or no evidence. I do agree though that we all have the right to do as we see fit. Whenever someone suggests I do something regarding the campaign, I think about it and do as I see fit.

  494. Well…Secret, Monkey, me, Idunn, the woman at the grocery store and probably her husband…

and there will be thousands more

  495. Can you please stop with this bs about Hill not winning! This is exactly what BO wants. STOP

LOL…I think I can speak for most of us when I say, the McCain Train is only a worst case scenario. 🙂

  496. count me in too .. McCain or bust. It’s the principle of how the DNC is allowing Hillary to be gang raped.

  497. BJQ Michelle cannot find a fur to match her diamond earrings. In fact, they had to close Michigan Avenue in order to allow her and Oprah to search for the perfect ensemble for the BJ Queen of America. Rezko’s wife Rita also raided the shops with the Chicago princesses. It was quite the spectacle. And yes, the helping industry was there and ready to assist.

  498. Ok, so how should Hill counter this “divisive” code for stealing the nom from the black man by actually winning stuff? I wonder if he plays that up just for super’s or to keep AAs in his corner.

  499. I’m being totally serious, you guys… as a last resort, if Hill should run as an Independent. She owes the DNC absolutely NOTHING!

  500. no, but i asked 100 North Carolinian residents to write him, and i provided a list of policy similarities between edwards and clinton. Monday and Tuesday will be busy days in Edwards’s Raleigh office.

  501. Ok, so how should Hill counter this “divisive” code for stealing the nom from the black man by actually winning stuff?

I don’t think she should counter it at all. Just go about the business of talking issues, let Wolfson handle the witty come backs, and just let Gumby keep digging himself deeper and deeper in his own shit. 🙂

  502. Well…Obama doesn’t do stress very well. Last week and this week he really looked like he was going to implode a few times. A few more negative moments for him and I honestly think he will do his own campaign in!

Hillary just stays on message and lets the Obama pieces fall where they may. She will be 44.

  503. MJ,
The only answer to the “divisiveness” question now is to win, do right by ALL the people of the country – as the Clintons did in the past – and hope it comes out ok in the end. That’s a verdict we won’t get till 2016, but one I’d stake my life on will be in the affirmative one we get past these few bumps in the road (namely, the popular vote and getting the existing vote totals from MI & FL included).

    SpaceGirl,
Very last one, you fuckin’ smelly asshole.
I didn’t show up here tonight attacking you.
I only addressed you directly when you told another poster what to do.

Even you will be able to figure the arrow function on your PC and scroll up in the thread, where I questioned you on the issue of President Clinton’s remarks.

  504. Great…welp Blue Dem, unfortunately, I’m gonna have to use my internal ignore button when I see your name come up on the screen. Too bad, I usually gain alot of insight from your posts, but I’m not gonna wade through a pile of negative shit just to find it.

    :sigh:

  505. Jan…”Well…Obama doesn’t do stress very well. Last week and this week he really looked like he was going to implode a few times. A few more negative moments for him and I honestly think he will do his own campaign in!”

    I agree totally

he almost looked ashen a few times
he is having to WORK for this and he only seems to know race baiting and nasty tricks to do it noe that the glow has worn off. New politics? YES WE CANNOT

  506. Okay Blue Democrat,

Again I think you posts have merit here but those negative one-liners are so disrespectful.

  507. LOL…what do you want to bet the majority of american voters are looking at each other today asking, “Who’s Bill Richardson?” 😉

  508. Michelle Obama, Rezko, fashion show: the difficult life of a Chicago princess.

    http://www.chicagomag.com/Chicago-Magazine/November-2007/Mr-Inside-Out/

Two days before last November’s elections, benefactors held a fashion show in the Rosemont convention center to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis. The invitation to the affair offered a veritable guidebook to political influence in Illinois, much of it centered on one St. Jude benefactor, Antoin “Tony” Rezko.

The chair of the event was Rezko’s wife, Rita, a member of the Cook County Employee Appeals Board, which hears cases brought by fired or disciplined workers. (She was appointed to the part-time post, which pays $37,000 a year, by John Stroger, the former president of the Cook County Board, whose 2002 campaign finance committee was headed by Tony Rezko.) The fashion show’s honorary cochair was Governor Rod Blagojevich’s wife, Patti, who owns a real-estate firm (and has been involved in real-estate deals with Tony Rezko dating back to 1997).

The event’s sponsoring committee included Governor Blagojevich’s former spokeswoman, Cheryle Jackson, who now heads the Chicago Urban League; Becky Ruff Chipparoni, whose husband, Guy Chipparoni, was the press secretary for then secretary of state Jim Edgar before setting up a public-relations firm in Chicago (Chipparoni has represented some of Rezko’s businesses); and Hollie Rumman, whose husband, Michael Rumman, served as one of Blagojevich’s cabinet members (and is an investor with Rezko in various deals, such as a proposed power plant in Iraq).

Michelle Obama, wife of the Democratic U.S. senator and presidential candidate Barack Obama, was a special guest that day (even though the news had just broken about Rezko’s participation in a funky real-estate transaction involving the Obamas’ Hyde Park home).

The fashion show attracted little if any media coverage, which may have been exactly as its organizers and sponsors had hoped. Just three weeks earlier, Tony Rezko had been indicted on charges of extorting kickbacks from businesses seeking contracts from the Blagojevich administration. Rezko has pleaded not guilty. The trial is scheduled for February 25th in the U.S. District Court for Northern Illinois.

  509. Jan – “How on earth does he plan to run a country if he can’t take the heat now?”

I traded my crystal ball in 1980 for a tattoo by Vivian Lazonga…..we’ll have to ask Idunn!

  510. Idunn…you are too funny! Thanks for the laugh. Maybe BBO is doing beard by proxy so he can fit the Lincoln Speech

  511. Bill Richardson has lost any respect I ever had for the guy. How does anyone now endorse a man who spent 20 years in a church spewing hatred for America?

And don’t give me the excuse that Bambi gave the best speech on earth since the discovery of sliced bread!

  512. mj,
how are you doing these days? Gosh remember our days last year? It used to be fun! I wonder what happened to the other people who used to post!! I am desperate & tired & exhausted of hoping something magical will happen that will kick BO out. Wishful thinking? You bet! I am in despair! Being one who always wanted her to run for Whitehouse since her Arkansas days – it is devastating to see her fight with all she has!

  513. ROTFLMAO…Pulchritude, that article reads like a list of Americas Most wanted! Stroger, Rezko , Blagojevich, Chipparoni, Rumman. Crazy. It’s like the rat pack or something.

  514. Secret, yeah, come to think if it there was that girl from NH. I can’t remember her name anymore. And, of course Kostner, who has totally disappeared. Emjay posted more. Yep, lot’s of people gone.

  515. I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way–things I had no words for. ~ Georgia O’Keeffe

I peeked at your website too. 🙂

  516. I’m still here, I put in a comment now and then, like at 9:06, don’t get much joy at the current humor here , don’t like how some people talk to others on these pages (11:04); I just ran a county convention last Saturday, and came back after 2 beers to find Iowa and Iowans being crapped on, I still give $xx.44 every week or two and I consort with some of the older ones on 2 other sights.

Miss you Secret; some of us communicate about the board topics via email and use the forward key a lot.

  517. “I don’t know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.”

  518. Secret, read this! We still have a chance and don’t listen to the media. We have to go all the way because every voter gets his/her say.

    from

    http://www.theleftcoaster.com/archives/012186.php

Bottom line: The “math” on the popular vote is not as daunting for Sen. Clinton as it is made out to be. She has a difficult but not impossible task ahead of her and she has proven time and again that she can defy the clueless jokers and smear merchants on the internet and in the traditional media. Big Tent Democrat at Talk Left summed up the situation thusly:

It is frankly absurd to hear people, like NBC and the Left blogs, say Clinton should drop out because WE think she can not catch up. Who are we to decide what the voters will do? The voters get to decide. Not the pundits. Not NBC. Not the Left blogs.

But contempt for the voters, of Michigan, Florida, Pennsylvania and beyond is the new watchword for Obama supporters – from NBC on down.

  519. Emjay, we cross posted. My 11:31 post was meant to come behind Hillbilly lover post.

    Just wanted to clarify. 🙂

  520. mj…i had to reboot….server crapped out or something….lots of plugging and unplugging and I finally just said to heck with it and restarted

    let me read up thread

  521. This woman on Bill Mahr is drinking the Kool Aid big time, really embarrassing herself, fawning over BO, even Bill had to smack her down, lol.

  522. Barney Frank is a breath of fresh air, holding his own very well, even though surrounded by ‘elite progressives’…

  523. tween art?

and as for the website, it has not been updated since a friend did me the favor of moving it to another Host for my birthday…but it had to be converted to FrontPage…and I dont know how to USE FrontPage, so there it sits…..unedited for a year, with the whole comments section lost!

Oh well, new one this year on mac program on the web….
but I have about 300 pics, so it’s a pain to do. Also, want to add the new stuff. That sirte is tired.

  524. Bill’s on the koolaid too. Didn’t he join in? I can just imagine them at Bill’s stupid table, big mugs of koolaid, toasting eachother. Of course, I have no idea what woman you are referring to.

  525. For all the hardcore supporters on late on a friday night on a holiday weekend….

I have compiled address lists for the uncommittee SDs in PA, WV and IN. Since you can’t email most reps unless you have an address in their district, looks like snail mail or fax is the only option.

I have composed the following and will be sending to all early next week. If you want to send me text, I can send also send letters under your signature. Or send you the addresses and you can send.

    Dear XXXXX,
I am writing to ask you to consider committing your vote as a Superdelegate in the Democratic Party to Hillary Clinton as the Democratic nominee for President.
I believe that HRC is the most experienced and the most qualified candidate for our party’s nomination. She is prepared, does not shirk hard work and has judgment that has been honed by a rich and varied set of experiences. I have been privileged to see her speak on multiple occasions and I am always impressed with the depth and breadth of her knowledge. She never hesitates to take questions from the audience and always has detailed, well reasoned responses on even the most arcane of topics. Finally, she also holds the security and prosperity of our great nation close to her heart. I believe that we can always trust her to do what is in American’s best interest.

As a lifelong democrat I have closely studied the losses of 1972, 1980 and 1984 and 1988. With that perspective, I believe that her strength in our party’s base offers the best – perhaps only – hope for taking back the White House in November.

Thank you for your time and again, I hope that you will consider committing your vote as a Superdelegate to Hillary Clinton as the Democratic nominee for President.

  526. Ann…nice letter. I will be happy to fax the SD’s letters. Don’t knw how many more from me they will read, but I can try!

  527. Secret

check out Rezko Watch and Obamas House of Cards. BMerryfield runs both, tho RezkoWatch takes most of her time right now, I think.
RW has made quite an impact in
