Two Wrongs Don’t Make A Wright

The superdelegates are watching. Voters in states crucial to Democratic victory are watching. Obama is sinking. The lies and the hypocrisy of Barack Obama can no longer be kept hidden — even by his Big Media protectors.

BEFORE Obama’s blaxploitation speech this past Tuesday we wrote:

Again, Obama is stoking racial strife, racial issues, race itself – for his own personal benefit. Instead of answering why Obama has displayed, repeatedly, total lack of judgment in decades long, generations long relationships – Obama will try to drag us all into his Obama drama of race “in a broader context“. We don’t need to discuss Reverend Wright in a “broader context”. We need Obama to specifically address his lack of judgment.

AFTER Obama’s Tuesday speech we wrote that Obama had proven himself a liar and a hypocrite. We noted Obama’s repeated denials, for days, of knowledge regarding “Pastor” Wright’s comments.

Buried in the Tuesday speech Obama ‘fessed up.

ABC News, echos our reports:

Buried in his eloquent, highly praised speech on America’s racial divide, Sen. Barack Obama contradicted more than a year of denials and spin from him and his staff about his knowledge of Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s controversial sermons.

Similarly, Obama also has only recently given a much fuller accounting of his relationship with indicted political fixer Antoin “Tony” Rezko, a longtime friend, who his campaign once described as just one of “thousands of donors.”

Until yesterday, Obama said the only thing controversial he knew about Rev. Wright was his stand on issues relating to Africa, abortion and gay marriage.

I don’t think my church is actually particularly controversial,” Obama said at a community meeting in Nelsonville, Ohio, earlier this month.

ABC News, as we wrote, politely calls Obama a Liar and a Hypocrite:

His initial reaction to the initial ABC News broadcast of Rev. Wright’s sermons denouncing the U.S. was that he had never heard his pastor of 20 years make any comments that were anti-U.S. until the tape was played on air.

But yesterday, he told a different story.

“Did I ever hear him make remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church? Yes,” he said in his speech yesterday in Philadelphia.

Obama did not say what he heard that he considered “controversial,” and the campaign has yet to answer repeated requests for dates on which the senator attended Rev. Wright’s sermons over the last 20 years.

We need dates and specific sermons he heard from Obama. This is the week Obama was to “assault” Hillary on transparency. Where is the Obama openness and transparency on his schedules and documents?

In the case of his relationship with Rezko, Obama has also been slow to acknowledge the full extent of his relationship.

It was only last week that he revealed Rezko had raised some $250,000 in campaign contributions for him.

The campaign had initially claimed Rezko-connected contributions were no more than $60,000, an amount the campaign donated to charity. Then the figure grew to around $86,000, and there were additional revelations that put the amount at about $150,000. Obama’s $250,000 accounting was a substantial jump and clearly contradicted earlier campaign statements that Rezko was just one of “thousands of donors.” [snip]

Obama was initially vague about Rezko’s role in helping him buy a new home on Chicago’s south side. Unable to afford an adjacent vacant lot the seller wanted to sell at the same time as the house, Obama approached Rezko. Rezko’s wife bought the lot on the same day Obama bought the house, and then later, Mrs. Rezko sold the Obamas a strip of the lot which gave the Obamas a larger backyard.

Obama called it a “bone-headed” mistake but never revealed, until he met with Chicago reporters last week, that Rezko had actually toured the house with him and been deeply involved in the transaction.

Obama repeatedly stated he would have walked out of his church if he had heard things that made him “uncomfortable”. For 20 years Obama remained comfortable. Maybe it was those Big Media provided pillows.

Big Media for years protected Imus too. Imus, the bigot, Imus of the “nappy headed hos” runs a big ranch for kids with cancer. Imus still had to go. Defending Wright by citing non-wrongs is a non-starter. Every criminal in jail can cite a good deed. Obama, on Tuesday, excused his “Pastor” using the Don Imus defense – which failed.

The Imus Wrong defense:

Our British cousins see the cement block tied to Obama’s feet which superdelegates also see:

Was the speech a turning point? No. Will the issue of the Rev Jeremiah Wright and his views on race be a burden to Barack Obama all the way to election day? Yes. [snip]

The Democratic Party establishment is privately deeply worried about this election. This is a year when it should be relatively easy for them to reclaim the Oval Office, yet there are nagging doubts about whether Obama, if nominated, could carry states such as Florida, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio and Pennsylvania, which will determine the outcome of this battle. Obama’s words will undoubtedly impress those who take the trouble to listen to him. Whether they will work with those who are watching rather than listening is far more debatable.

Florida and Michigan are lost to Obama the election thief. Ohio is certainly lost to McCain if Obama is the nominee. Pennsylvania too is beyond Obama’s reach.

But, not to worry Obama incense burners! Hillary Hater Dick Morris comes to the Obama rescue. Morris insists Obama has already won. Yet, Morris tries to save “already won” Obama by throwing him an anvil.

Why did he stay in the church? Because he’s a black Chicago politician who comes from a mixed marriage and went to Columbia and Harvard. Suspected of not being black enough or sufficiently tied to the minority community, he needed the networking opportunities Wright afforded him in his church to get elected. If he had not risen to the top of Chicago black politics, we would never have heard of him. But obviously, he can’t say that. So what should he say? [snip]

What Obama needs not to do is to resort to the kind of Clintonian fudging that animated his interview with Keith Olbermann. By saying “I wasn’t there” and “I didn’t know” and “I didn’t hear him say it,” he will invite contempt and derision. If he were to continue in that vein, he would buy himself a controversy akin to that which drowned John Kerry in the facts and allegations of his service in Vietnam. People will surface to say, “I sat next to him, and Wright said such and such,” and Obama will be hostage to everybody’s subjective memory.

But if he handles the situation with subtlety and lets what he cannot say — that it was opportunism that led him to stay in that church — sink in among the electorate, he can and will survive this battle.

Gurgle, gurgle, as Obama sinks after catching that rescue anvil.

Obama is exploiting race to save himself. Again.

Folks, we have a challenge ahead of us, but its one that we can help Supergirl overcome:

    From NY Times:
    March 20, 2008
    Political Memo
Clinton Facing Narrower Path to Nomination
    By ADAM NAGOURNEY

WASHINGTON — Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton needs three breaks to wrest the Democratic presidential nomination from Senator Barack Obama in the view of her advisers.

She has to defeat Mr. Obama soundly in Pennsylvania next month to buttress her argument that she holds an advantage in big general election states.

She needs to lead in the total popular vote after the primaries end in June.

And Mrs. Clinton is looking for some development to shake confidence in Mr. Obama so that superdelegates, Democratic Party leaders and elected officials who are free to decide which candidate to support overturn his lead among the pledged delegates from primaries and caucuses.

NOW LETS GET TO WORK. DONATE. PHONE. INVESTIGATE. REPORT. BLOG.

    get the word out

  2. Thanks Admin…this goes with my last post on the previous thread….

Ok…I was thinking about something last night and mentioned it late, but rather cryptically. Here goes.

Rezko had unheated tenements where AA’s froze their butt off and services were impossible to get.

Obama was the State Senator for the District where these slums were, but he didn’t know, and his staff never heard any complaints.

Pastor Wright, who thought it was terrible that AA’s lived in such White-created Oppressive circumstances didn’t know about these places either, even tho he had a congregation of 8000.

NONE of the 8000 congragents (sp) knew about these places where other AA’s were living, and if they did, NONE of these 8000 ever told Wright OR Obama….

but blame the White-oppressive system for the plight?

  3. @clintondem & ronald…

honestly, i dont know why…. i dont know the in’s and out’s of how UH will affect different types of docs/specialities… most of my friends’ hubs are cards, one is a dentist and one is an ER doc and the others are IMs… the only one that is neutral on UH is the ER doc.

three of us wives are former pharma reps, so when i worked, it was practically prohibited to be pro UH as a rep in the field. i quit a little over a year ago… after medicare part d kicked in, it was really hard to feel like you were bringing any value to the docs… spending hundreds on lunches for offices, when these poor elderly ppl cant afford their meds…. i just started feeling awful at the end of every day. i’m so thankful i was able to get out of that industry.

@space: awesome! we’ve never stayed in savannah… we usually go to charleston, but we thought to do something different this time… i cant wait… we’re having easter brunch at lady & sons!!! i am going to eat! eat! eat! all weekend!!! and i want to take the haunted ghost tour saturday night… just be a total tourist all weekend! yipee! we’re staying at mansion on forsyth and ive heard they have a great spa…. hopefully there’ll be a massage in my future too…. i hope…

  4. Ronald,

i saw that article, too, and i wasn’t thrilled with it as the tone seems mocking and dismissive. Even Playmate (who i flicked by) was gagging on the words HRC COULD (miraculously) pull it out and her smug counterpart, Just-For-Men fan Chuck Todd, shared her contempt.

    I HATE those two.
Something REALLY damaging has to surface, like BO with Khaddafi or clear Rezko-proof, IMHO. Not trying to bash the campaign but it is still unbelievable that a Plan B wasn’t in place for the post Super-Tuesday run. if she had won just a couple of those states . . . I’m not gonna dwell on it but . . . come on . . .

  5. Love the videos shown side by side, Admin.

Goes to the heart of the fact that, Obama takes a “stand” only when it is in his own, personal best interest to do so. He doesn’t like Imus calling young black women basketball players nappy headed ho’s because Obama himself has two AA daughters (understandable), but he remains silent on his pastors biggotted comments because THAT doesn’t effect Obama and HIS family.

It’s the all Obama network…if it ain’t about Obama and his family, it just doesn’t get aired.:

  6. It’s just stating the obvious Caroline. Obama knew Hillary would win Florida and Michigan big so he worked to knock off their results even before they voted. How Democrats can imagine a 48 state convention is beyond logic – it’s the audacity of dope.

Ronald – you are exactly right. Donate, phone. investigate, blog, email. Let’s win big in Pennsylvania and it will have a greater effect than the Ohio victory did. If we then get either Indiana or North Carolina Obama is cooked. Let’s win, the bigger the better and make Big Media and the incense burners choke on their own incense.

  7. If the issues of MI and FL are not resolved with in the next week, then the Dems (no matter who the nominee) can kiss November good bye!!

Dean has f–ked this up, to the point, that the voters beleive the Democratic Party caress less about them and their vote. We need these two states in order to win

  8. I don’t like Nagourney’s use of the word “breaks,” which implies all these things are against her and she needs to overcome them.

But I just don’t believe anything from the MSM at this point. Every article is planted by someone with some agenda.

  9. @space-

sounds like a very disorganized community to me.

Too bad they didn’t have a talented community organizer helping them get things like heat or decent housing.

What did Gumby say he did as an organizer? oh ya, work with steel workers to get jobs. Lots of steel workers in CHicago Im sure. That wasn’t in anyway an attempt to ingratiate himself with steel-workers in Pittsburgh, huh?

My main problem with Rev. Wright’s sermons has always been the anti-American note they seemed to strike. Sen. Obama very cleverly muddled the picture, threw some sand in America’s eyes and made it all about race relations and the media, good sheep that they are, are failing to see the other aspects of this.

I’ve repeatedly said that Sen. Obama’s speech was terrific, but it did not address the Rev. Wright problem specifically or comprehensively enough. And that “but” looms large for Americans.

Or maybe this will all wash away and everyone will forget about the YouTubes, and Republicans won’t use Wright against Obama in the general election, with the American people ignoring it when they do. – Taylor Marsh

Obama is toxic. Theer is nothing else do except running
away from him. If Democratic leaders want to commit
political suicide, nominate Obama b/c the Rethugs will
be happy to link ALL democrats to this narrative that we are
    anti-americans, anti-jews, etc..It won’t be pretty.

jd: That is it in a nutshell. You can’t even have him on the ticket. Since he refused to “disown” Wright, that cloud not only hangs over Obama but the dem party. A US Senator cannot be attendance week after week, month after month, year after year while someone who he admits has a major influence on his life is spouting anti-American rhetoric. That shows a stunning lack of judgement.

The pro Obama blogs are trying to wrap themselves in the afterglow of his “major speech on race” but they are only kidding themselves and I think they know it. His campaign is over. If they want to urge anybody to drop out of the race, now is the time and it ain’t Hillary.

Saw these poll results from Susa and Gallup which came out yesterday:

Ohio: If there were an election for President of the United States today, and the only two names on the ballot were Republican John McCain and Democrat Hillary Clinton, who would you vote for?

Clinton leads McCain, 50% to 44%

What if it was John McCain against Democrat Barack Obama?

McCain leads Obama, 50% to 43%

    Missouri, same questions:
McCain leads Hillary, 48% to 46%
McCain leads Obama, 53% to 39%.

    Kentucky, same questions:
McCain leads Hillary, 53% to 43%
McCain leads Obama, 64% to 28%

The AP reports that Gallup daily tracking polls shows Hillary Clinton leading Barack Obama 49% to 42% on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Wake up DNC, Obama is unelectable!

    NC4Hillary,
That’s a good point. Even if the young people didn’t go to church, if their parents were of the same mind-set as Wright, it would influence them.

How does Tuesday’s speech compare to this?:

“I understand MSNBC has suspended Mr. Imus. But I would also say that there’s nobody on my staff who would still be working for me if they made a comment like that about anybody of any ethnic group. And I would hope that NBC ends up having that same attitude. … He didn’t just cross the line. He fed into some of the worst stereotypes that my two young daughters are having to deal with today in America. The notions that as young African-American women — who I hope will be athletes — that that somehow makes them less beautiful or less important. It was a degrading comment. It’s one that I’m not interested in supporting.”

I guess “spiritual advisor” isn’t a staff position.

And look at this, from The Page (emphasis supplied by Halperin himself):

[Clinton] Advisers warning wavering superdels that Wright could doom Obama in the general election.

Chief political writer Nagourney: “That argument could be Mrs. Clinton’s last hope for winning this contest.”

And: Still unexplained and, apparently, unexplored, from Tuesday’s speech — Obama on Wright: “Did I know him to be an occasionally fierce critic of American domestic and foreign policy? Of course. Did I ever hear him make remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church? Yes.”

The variations that will be made on the anti-American theme with the Wright clips and the various other incidents involving members of bo’s campaign will provide unlimited fodder to the GOP come oct. should bo get the nod.

If bo and msnbc have their way, they will guilt the media into ignoring these videos because if the media doesn’t, the media must be racists. There could be little or no discussion of this for the next 5 months, but come oct, if bo gets the nod, forget about it!

It will be all over the media once again but this time triple or quadruple the exposure given to it now by Fox and youtube.

I can see the republican commercials now. Of course they won’t be endorsed by McCain, but there are about a gazillion republican 527s out there rubbing their hands in anticipatory glee who just can’t wait!

This is the GOP, it’s what they do and unfortunately for all democrats they do it very well.

Not supporting FL and MI to have redos or sit as is just adds icing on the republican cake, especially since the FL governor was so openly in favor.

I have to believe and hope that saner and more mature, forward thinking heads than dean and pelosi will prevail and bo will be convinced to step aside graciously and come back in 8 years when he is ready for this; there is no other way around this debacle that I can see.

    Agreed. Imagine the race.

    Barack Obama versus John McCain
Goddamn America versus God Bless America

with all the footage of McCain as a POW, war hero, etc..

Do not be distracted by the media and pundit and BO camp subterfuge. They feel they have to throw everything they can at HRC. The problem is we are immune! .

Now, the only real question is – how does this play out on the Dem side so that HRC wins credibly and fairly and we all (or mostly) unite to win the general?

I found this part of today’s Rasmussen article quite telling:

“If Obama is nominated, just 42% of Clinton supporters say they are even somewhat likely to vote for him against McCain. Eighteen percent (18%) of Clinton voters say that they are Not Very Likely to vote for Obama and 35% say they are Not at All Likely to vote for Obama.

On the other hand, if Clinton is nominated, 57% of Obama voters are at least somewhat likely to vote for the former First Lady.”

I have been trying to work and concentrate this morning, but I had to come back and make another comment. It occurred to me that now many Americans can smile and say, good speech, yes racial divides exist, and so forth, but you what? I truly believe that when Americans go into that voting booth, GOD DAMN AMERICA is going to ring silently in their ears and the pain in their gut will not allow them to vote for Obama. The media will call it the “Bradley” effect, but I will call it what it is… Americans are not going to vote for a man that associates with a church or organization that peddles HATE-Anti-American hate at that. Obama had the nerve to lecture us and tell us the we don’t like what our Pastors, Ministers, Priests or Rabbis say either, well most of us have never heard GOD DAMN AMERICA coming from any of them. Sure tell us we just do not understand because of slavery, etc. My people were slave in Egypt Mr. Obama, I get oppression, and you’ve never been Jewish or a woman. In America, you work hard and you can only ask yourself to help you rise up. You do not rise above hatred, poverty, social injustice, etc. by participating in its perpetuation.

Sorry for the rant, but I just can’t stand it anymore.

Maybe someone should tell Obama and the MSM it’s the patriotism, stupid!

Obama’s speech made some good points about confronting racial issues in this country, but he tried to use racial injustice to explain away Wright’s words. I’m not an AA, but I have a hard time thinking that AAs are okay with anyone saying ‘God Damn America’ five days after 9/11.

Democrats often have their patriotism called into question in elections. (John Kerry, Max Cleland) This incident, combined with the faux flag-pin controversy, the National Anthem picture, and Michelle’s ‘first time’ comments are going to be repeated ad nauseum if he makes it to the GE. This is what he needed to address, and he didn’t.

I just wanted to share this from Paul Krugman. On his blog today he has a link to a column he wrote as the war in Iraq began, 5 years ago. In it, he writes:

    “[…] It’s a matter of public record that this war with Iraq is largely the brainchild of a group of neoconservative intellectuals, who view it as a pilot project. In August a British official close to the Bush team told Newsweek: ”Everyone wants to go to Baghdad. Real men want to go to Tehran.” In February 2003, according to Ha’aretz, an Israeli newspaper, Under Secretary of State John Bolton told Israeli officials that after defeating Iraq the United States would ”deal with” Iran, Syria and North Korea.     Morning all;

Taylor do you know anything about hillaryspeaksforme.com? I’ve always sent bloggers there to educate themselves about the election and to learn about Obama and Hillary. For the last few days, there hasn’t been anything new on the site, do you know what’s going on there? I hope Obama and his henchmen haven’t gotten ahold of the person, who mans that site.

If anyone knows what is going on please let me know. I want to keep sending people there. I was just on foxnews.com and they have an article there about Hillary, they said some phone contact pages are missing from the 11,000 pgs. she’s handed in.

What I would like to know, what does that has to do with this election? Why are they not still talking about Obama and the Rev. Wright chaos. Why are they trying to get off that subject?

What can we do, to keep the heat on Obama, I don’t want him to think for a minute, that the speech he gave made everybody feel warm and fuzzy inside and now we should forgive and forget. I don’t think so!!!! Like I posted on the Washington Post.com, by Obama playing the race card and his minister racist sermons, he has set the country back 50 yrs. and are going to have people looking at AA in a new light and are going to think that all AA feel the same way.

Well I can say I don’t and a lot of other AA don’t buy into Obama nor Rev. Wright, BS. You can see what Obama is really like, being endorsed by Louis Farrakan, the New Black Panther Party, he’s up to no good.

I can just imagine, if he became President, he would have people like the Black Panthers and other terriost, in the country, taken over this country, block by city block, we would be like people in third world countries, being led by a terriost such as Obama. I hope there’s some more dirt out there, that will come to light and cause Obama to step down.

Yes, of course you are correct…it will take time for some to see and hear the toxicity – particularly “liberals”.

Remember – it was only a few weeks ago that Tina Fey and SNL opened up the possibility of even questioning BO.

I am heartened that this morning I walked to the grocery store. Typically, I pass 5 Obama signs on the way. There is only one today. Definitive? Of course not. But there is some soul searching going on in liberal circles.

How can liberals condone or dismiss the type of hatred they have fought against? Noone is suggesting that BO agrees with any of the hate speech.

But we all can agree that BO condoned and dismissed it for many many years.

pps: FYI, this morning he is repeatedly playing a “duet” of the revved up Revs Wright and Manning. Imus says, “I don’t think white people are Obama’s biggest problem”. Keep in mind, Imus HATES Hillary (tho I’ve yet to hear WHY of course), and has been nothing but respectful of Obama and his campaign.
    ****************************88
LOL, playing ‘duet’. That should be a mess! I use to watch Imus everymoring on MessSNBC. I’m one who thought that Imus shouldn’t have been fired. I thought that he should have been suspended and the attempts that he made to make ammends should have been taken into consideration but alas…

This espisode is why I can’t stand Tim Russert, Harold Ford etc all of who deserted him like rats from a sinking ship…but I digress.

This Wright problem won’t go away. I was talking to an AA co-worker and I asked him about Wright, he burst out laughing as we both started witht he quote, ‘They bombed Hiroshia…now they want us to sing GBA…no, no, no, GDA’. After which he said that this will hurt him. He said that he didn’t get to see the speech as he works two jobs(I suspect many didn’t see the speech) but he said that he will be certainly hurt by it. He said that that was hate speak.

“Whether Obama was in church the day that Wright declared “Goddamn America” for systematically infecting blacks with drugs and HIV, or when he said that America’s “chickens were coming home to roost” on Sept. 11, 2001, surely Obama had to have heard about it.

Surely, he heard about Wright’s pilgrimage to Libya’s Muammar Gaddafi and his “lifetime achievement award” for Louis Farrakhan.

Now, Obama says, he rejects and abhors what Wright said and did. No doubt, he does. But, he could cite no instance when he ever intervened with Wright to protest his hateful nonsense. Reportedly, Oprah Winfrey quietly left Wright’s church. Obama did not.”

If Obama was truly a leader he would have talked about race and religion with all its implications sooner.

He could have started by being proud of his middle name. By not owning his middle name he creates his own negative. One’s name is something we hold up as part of our esteem. He should be proud of his name. In battle you have to turn the negative into a positive.

Obama constantly offers he’s not a Muslim, and professes his Christianity. Obama hosted a gospel tour, put out flyers driving the message home- Christianity good, I’m not a Muslim. A good leader is respectful of religious diversity and stands up to the squawking instead of hiding behind a pamphlet.

This is the irony of Obama. Obama obviously knows that there are black pastors that preach the importance of love thy neighbor and then there is Rev. Wright who opts to preach the importance of hate. Obama could have offered there are Muslim’s who are peaceful in their faith who are distinct from Islamic extremist. After all any leader with good judgment knows that what holds true for one group will hold true for another. Hate does not get a pass because of who you know, it doesn’t matter if we’re talking race or religion.

Rev. Wright’s discussion was about hate, it didn’t matter the color of his skin, it was a proclaimed damnation of America, and it doesn’t get much plainer than that.

“Words without action are ‘just words'” (I love that sentiment!). His action on these matters are way too late. He could have been a transformational candidate, but he has proven himself a tepid leader and rhetorical orator.

By a 48% to 31% margin, the West Virginia voters believe Clinton will be the stronger general election candidate against John McCain. However, by a 47% to 35% margin, they believe Obama will win the nomination. Even 32% of Clinton voters expect Obama to be the Democratic nominee in 2008.

    FNelson | 03.20.2008 – 09:08 am | #

I guess “spiritual advisor” isn’t a staff position.
    myiq2xu | 03.20.2008 – 09:08 am | #

    “[…] It’s a matter of public record that this war with Iraq is largely the brainchild of a group of neoconservative intellectuals, who view it as a pilot project. In August a British official close to the Bush team told Newsweek: ”Everyone wants to go to Baghdad. Real men want to go to Tehran.” In February 2003, according to Ha’aretz, an Israeli newspaper, Under Secretary of State John Bolton told Israeli officials that after defeating Iraq the United States would ”deal with” Iran, Syria and North Korea.     Morning all;

Looking down the road to May 13, Senator Hillary Clinton holds a huge lead over Senator Barack Obama in the West Virginia Presidential Primary. The first Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of the race shows that Clinton attracts 55% of the Likely Democratic Primary Voters while Obama is supported by 27%. Eighteen percent (18%) are not sure.

Clinton is viewed favorably by 72% of West Virginia’s Primary Voters, Obama by 53%.

If Obama is nominated, just 42% of Clinton supporters say they are even somewhat likely to vote for him against McCain. Eighteen percent (18%) of Clinton voters say that they are Not Very Likely to vote for Obama and 35% say they are Not at All Likely to vote for Obama.

On the other hand, if Clinton is nominated, 57% of Obama voters are at least somewhat likely to vote for the former First Lady.

The economy is the top voting issue for 51% of Likely Primary Voters. Overall, 53% say the focus should be on reducing the income gap between rich and poor. Thirty-nine percent (39%) say the focus should be on creating more economic growth.

Fifty-eight percent (58%) say that Obama has received better media treatment than Clinton. Just 16% believe that Clinton has benefitted from media preference

  11. divabunny, my hubby is a doc (hospitalist) and has been pushing Hillary’s UHC plan in the doctor’s lounge. They were all knee-jerk skeptical at first, but then he started asking them “How many uninsured patients are admitted and on your roster right now? That you are not getting paid one dime for seeing?” They all have some, because the hospital can’t just turn them away, so they get farmed out in rotation.

He keeps pointing out that even if the pay rates went down a little, the fact that he would get paid for EVERY SINGLE patient makes it a wash.

If a doctor has 15 insured patients from whom he gets $100 a day (a very high estimate), and 5 uninsured that he is treating for free, he is getting $1500. If all 20 patients were on a plan that paid $75 a day HE WOULD STILL MAKE THE SAME INCOME.

Add to that the idea that the doc would feel better knowing that the patient could get follow-up care when discharged, would not not be back in the ER next week due to no insurance and not able to buy the prescriptions they were sent home with (to be admitted yet again FOR FREE), and it’s a no brainer.

Hubby is working to educate his colleagues away from the knee-jerk reactions to the idea. THEY ARE TREATING THESE PATIENTS ANYWAY, he keeps telling them. Why not get paid at least something for it! It’s better than nothing!

It helps that he has practiced in Europe, so has seen first hand how their systems work quite well overall, though none are perfect.

  12. Basil,

The NY times article is awful- but the challenge is real. I only took the part that was appropriate because I dont see any need to repost the whole.

We can do this gang. We’ve done it before (OH, TX, RI) and we will do it again!

    on to victory!

  13. Ron….I sent this out yesterday….cited in NoQuarter and a comment there…the subject line was: Will Axelrod and Obama get rich off the backs of the people of Pennsylvania?

Will someone please check this out? This just doesn’t sound Kosher.

    Thank you

    *************************************

Exelon bought Pennsylvania’s power co-op PECO.

Enron tried to buy PECO and did a lot of high profile marketing and underselling of rates in efforts to take over. Most of it done with very little effort to address union pay, etc. as ways to undercut competition on a short basis.

When Enron really made its national move they added PECO’s former CEO and a huge Illinois banking name to their board.

Enron went on to implode, yet Exelon seemed to follow its footsteps, and take over PECO, in a move that made Exelon into America’s largest energy provider.

Perhaps Obama’s campaign director Mr.Axelrod, who did a lot of consulting for Exelon, would care to discuss his company’s buying up of PA utilities for the coming primary there. Maybe he could discuss the EPA items dealing with PECO waste management issues relating to a Superfund location in the state.

    http://noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/03/18/true-environmentalists-do-not-raise-money-for-obama-d-exelon-true-environmentalists-support-clinton/
Exelon, a nuclear energy giant in Illinois, is Obama’s sixth largest donor.

In fact, Exelon employees have donated over $269,100 to his federal campaigns and over $194,750 in 2008.

These donations are significant, for Obama wrote legislation on Exelon’s behalf while serving in the US Senate. Constituents of Obama in Will County, Illinois, complained of nuclear waste surfacing in the area’s groundwater. They mobilized the support of Obama, who promised to write legislation requiring corporations such as Exelon to disclose radioactive leaks to surrounding communities. But Obama failed. Indeed, he allowed Exelon and Senate Republicans to dilute the bill. Instead of requiring companies to disclose information regarding radioactive leaks, the bill Obama wrote with Exelon lobbyists merely offered guidance for how to report a leak if those corporations chose to disclose such information. Obama’s consituents were not pleased. I quote:

“Senator Obama’s staff was sending us copies of the bill to review, and we could see it weakening with each successive draft,” said Joe Cosgrove, a park district director in Will County, Ill., where low-level radioactive runoff had turned up in groundwater. “The teeth were just taken out of it.”

And although Obama allowed Exelon lobbyists and Congressional Republicans to yank the teeth from his bill, he boasted about it while campaigning in Iowa this December. Obama, I guess, enjoys misrepresenting his record on the environment to voters, including those who will hold expensive fundraisers for him in the Myers Park neighborhood of Charlotte.

Obama had to distort the legislation he failed to pass. He also had to distort his relation to Exelon. For David Axelrod, Obama’s chief campaign strategist, worked for Exelon in 2002. I quote the New York Times again:

In addition, Mr. Obama’s chief political strategist, David Axelrod, has worked as a consultant to Exelon. A spokeswoman for Exelon said Mr. Axelrod’s company had helped an Exelon subsidiary, Commonwealth Edison, with communications strategy periodically since 2002, but had no involvement in the leak controversy or other nuclear issues.

Obama, in other words, is deeply entangled with Exelon and with the nuclear power industry. This is significant, as Exelon has spent millions lobbying for a repository of nuclear waste in Yucca Mountain, Nevada.

Should environmentalists support a candidate whose main contributors desire to pollute our environment with nuclear waste? Should environmentalists support a candidate who failed to protect constituents concerned about the presence of radioactive waste in their groundwater? Or are certain environmentalists motivated by concerns other than the environment?

Contrast this with the record of Hillary Clinton, who convened the first Senate hearing on environmental justice last year. And she did this after she announced for the Presidency. The environment is too important to Clinton to neglect for a mere political campaign.

    I quote:

    25 JULY 2007
Senator Clinton Announces Bill to Step Up Federal Commitment to Environmental Justice

Leads First-Ever Senate Hearing on Environmental Justice

  14. The NYTimes article attempts to make the situation appear bleak. This earlier article shows how much bleaker the situation is for Obama:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/19/us/politics/19web-seelye.html?pagewanted=2&adxnnl=1&adxnnlx=1206010832-5bPtncCYbHssJAqQzc0s8A

Mr. Obama could conceivably win the state without these voters, but only if he cranked out a big vote in Philadelphia and the suburbs. A new Public Policy Polling survey in Pennsylvania casts some doubt on his ability to do that. It finds a wide lead for Mrs. Clinton, built in part by strong support among women (about 60 percent of Democrats are women) but also because black voters appear less enthusiastic about Mr. Obama than they were in other states. While he won 90 percent of blacks in Mississippi, for example, the survey suggests he has only 63 percent in Pennsylvania.

One worry for the Obama camp is whether the speech cements Mr. Obama as the “black candidate” in the minds of blue-collar whites. That could have the unintended consequence of driving up turnout of those voters for Mrs. Clinton. The endorsement of Mrs. Clinton by Representative John Murtha, the powerful Pennsylvania Democrat, on the same day as Mr. Obama’s speech was no accident. Mr. Murtha represents a white, blue-collar region in the southwestern part of the state.

Trying to win Pennsylvania without those voters, many of whom are Reagan Democrats, is to miss an important point about the state — if they don’t build up loyalty to a Democrat in the primary, they could easily vote Republican in the fall.

“These are potential McCain voters,” Mr. Mitchell said, referring to Senator John McCain, the putative Republican nominee.

“If Clinton and Obama don’t persuade that white vote to be for them in the spring, they’ll have a hard time getting it in the fall because of the conservative nature of Pennsylvania,” Mr. Mitchell said.

  15. Admin,
Winning big hasn’t done much for her so far. She won big in Ohio, in Florida, In Michigan, Ca, RI, NY, NJ and barely a blip in the media narrative.
Not to say she WON’T rock PA and by double digits . . but I really think something so unacceptable about BO has to surface, something so disgusting that not even BM can excuse it . . .
Or she has to go third party. Why would she even WANT to be the Dem nominee after the way they’ve thrown her under the bus?
But then I’m not a politician.
    Great opening, BTW, as usual.

  16. If your standard for her is a change in the MSM narrative in her favor, you’re wasting your time. It’s not going to happen. She will and can win without them.

  17. MORE EVIDENCE THAT OBAMA’S SPEECH HURT HIM MORE THAN IT HELPED HIM WITH WORKING CLASS DEMOCRATS

Obama racial issues may extend to Penn.
By CARRIE BUDOFF BROWN | 3/20/08 4:41 AM EST

PHILADELPHIA — Stephanie Gill, a bartender in a white working class neighborhood in this Rust Belt city, noticed the shift immediately.

A week ago, her customers at Rauchut’s Tavern in Tacony didn’t have much to say about Barack Obama. But when she returned to work Wednesday, a day after the Illinois senator attempted to quell the furor over his pastor’s racially incendiary remarks, the reaction inside the corner bar was raw and unapologetic.

“People are not happy with Obama,” Gill said. “It’s the race stuff.”

  18. @H4T: thats exactly what my friend thats married to the ER (hospitalist) doc has said… thats why they are the only friends that i said are neutral… its my other friends that are married to the non-interventional cards that are anti-UH… they wont schedule pts that arent pre-pay whether its through medicare or their health insurance until the payor paperwork is filed and approved… its awful, but thats what is going on. i’m glad your husband and his colleagues are open!

    k guys… i’m off… have a happy easter and a wonderful long weekend!

  19. p/s…. i am loving that bambi’s foreign policy speech didnt get sh*t for coverage by the msm! all they are talking abt STILL is rev wright and now how badly he is tanking in the polls!

  20. This takes us back to the issue of how much weight the pledge delegates should have in this nomination process, at least with respect to the delegates from the caucus states. We all know that the caucuses were a farce, and that the delegate count is not a reflection of the “will of the people.” But with Pelosi disingenuously arguing that the super delegates should follow the pledge delegates, the legitimacy of the pledge delegates should be carefully considered.

With that in mind, a group of us are getting together to try to investigate the caucus abuses. We ask that anyone who has information regarding caucus irregularities, contact us at the below email addresses. We will keep your names and personal information confidential if you request us to do so. We would like to hear the complaints of both Hillary and Obama supporters because the issue is the integrity of the caucus system, not which candidate we support. But Obama supporters be warned, we will forward any abusive emails to your friend Nancy Pelosi so she knows what good company she is keeping.

    For Washington: WashingtonCaucusIrregularities@gmail.com
    For all other caucuses: DemocraticCaucusIrregularities@gmail.com

    Thank you

  21. TPS,
    Good post.

I still say that the Bo speech was either his way of ‘hedging his bets’ in case he loses the nomination and has to go back to being a Senator or a low-key acknowledgement of the inevitable; he can’t get the nomination, now OR, if he does, he can never win in the GE.
I just get so livid that HRC has to scrounge for delegates all because the DNC had an agenda which didn’t include her. i also don’t know why neither Dean or brazille are getting any flak from the disaster they’ve created. Thoughts?

  22. The news media needs to report on the fact that Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Barack Obama all ganged up together on Don Imus to score political points when Imus made remarks on his radio show about the Rutgers basketball team. These three teamed up to stoke racial passions back then — but these three buddies were silent for 20 years while Jeremiah Wright said awful things in his sermons, including accusing the United States government of infecting black people with AIDS. Why were Jackson, Sharpton, and Obama so quiet then, yet they pounced all over Don Imus?

    http://hillbuzz.blogspot.com/2008/03/hypocrite-obama-called-for-imus-firing.html#links

  23. Basil….it is up to US to point out to the SD’d that DEAN AND BRAZILE have TANKED THE PARTY and we WILL NOT WIN THE GE because of THEIR PLANS and SCHEMES.

Tell the SD’s it is THEIR FAULT (Dean & Brazile) for not vetting the candidate, for not working out a plan to deal with FL & MI in advance. That they are both losers, Dean in his OWN campaign and Brazile in Gore’s.

MAYBE if enough SD’s AND PLEDGE DELEGATES (who can change their minds, btw,) realize AND UNDERSTAND that the DEAN STRATEGY is a FAILED ONE…SOMEONE maybe will knock some heads. But in any case, if we make this point NOW nad over and over again, as the days go by and bambi tanks more and more, and more stuff comes out, they might actually see we are right and Dean is wrong, annd the White House will be in McCain’s hands IF THEY DO NOT STOP THAT AND DEAN NOW.

  24. The DNC must be stupid.
How can disenfranchising FL help a Democrat win there in GE? One of the biggest political blunders in a long time.

  25. basil9, the elite media is once again is out of touch with what real people think.

In my view, Obama would have been better off not giving this speech and simply apologozing for his ties and announcing that he is cutting all ties with his pastor and his church. This would have been the way to move on. Instead, he had to go give this big speech in which he tried to rationalize JWright’s rhetoric and blamed pretty much everyone else including his grandma for his pastor’s rhetoric. My reaction to that speech is why are you bringing me into this, it is your pastor who gave crazy sermons, it is your challenge to explain why you associated with him for 20 years, and why are you challenging me. It was not his place to lecture us on race. Instead, he should have honestly and forthrightly explained his ties to this pastor, apologized and moved on.

I bet a lot of people felt the same way.

  26. USAToday comes out for a revote in Michigan and Florida:

    http://www.usatoday.com/printedition/news/20080320/edit20.art.htm

Together, Florida and Michigan account for 9% of Americans and more than 8% of Democratic delegates. They could affect the outcome of the nomination race, and therefore the general election and the nation’s future. To take their voice away because of the boneheaded decisions of legislatures to play chicken with the parties is a slap in the face of popular sovereignty.

While there is no constitutional right to vote in nominating contests, the two parties have essentially adopted this principle by choosing their nominees in primaries and caucuses, rather than smoke-filled rooms. Polls have made clear that Democrats do not want “super delegates” tipping the balance if Obama emerges from the primaries leading in pledged delegates and popular votes.

Given this desire for letting the people decide, would it not behoove the party to find a way to have revotes in Michigan and Florida? It’s true that this might benefit Clinton, who was in Detroit on Wednesday appealing for a do-over. But if Obama (who wasn’t even on the ballot in Michigan in January) wants the people to decide, should he not want to ensure that all the people are in on the process?

Moreover, the logistics of holding a new primary on short notice with limited funding are daunting. The plan floated in Florida, home of the 2000 recount debacle, had particular problems. It was to be a combination mail-in and in-person primary, run jointly by the state government and the state party. The government has no experience with mail-in votes, and the party has no experience running any kind of primary.

These concerns, however, should not be so great as to outweigh the positive of finding a way to allow millions of people to go to the polls and have a say in the outcome.

Doing nothing would leave key decisions up to the party insiders on the Democrats’ Rules and Bylaws Committee. Agreeing to seat some or all the delegates now, based on the lopsided “wins” in January for Clinton, would be grossly unfair. Seating them after one of the candidates has won, or splitting them 50-50 now, would give delegates a place at the convention but would deny voters a voice.

The way out of this mess is to vote over.

  27. I just had a thought about why sometimes people feel their comments do not get a response. One factor might be (at least in my case) that when people have really long handles, it becomes hard for me to remember or type a handle that long every time I want to respond to them. I feel I owe it to them not to get their handle wrong. It seems to be some kind of psychological barrier. Do others feel this way also?

Maybe commenters can use a shorter handle?

Just a thought. I am not trying to ignite a controversy here or trying to tell people what they should do.

  28. I think the DNC is grossly underestimating the number of Clinton supporters who will vote for McCain. I will.

  29. I think the DNC is grossly underestimating the number of Clinton supporters who will vote for McCain. I will.

I’ll just take a bath, put on my jammies, make some popcorn and watch the bloodbath. Feeling more than alittle smug about the fact that I had NOTHING to do with whomever gets elected POTUS.

In fact, that’s been my tradition for the past 2 elections.Say what you like, but nobody can blame ME for Bush.

  30. Good morning, Hillfriends: Terrific post, Admin. Wow.

If by “something really bad has to happen to Obama” they mean “something really bad in his background, behavior, values, or integrity has to be found out during actual vetting,” then two really bad things that we know about so far already have “happened” to Obama: Rezko and Wright. Wright has legs.

You’ve always known how awful the Wright reality is here on Big Pink and even some of us here in Chicago who haven’t drunk the kool-aid know. It IS BAD. But, as the right-wingers continue the vetting and once Dem voters and SD’s digest this further, more questions of credibility, honesty, and judgment should “bubble up.”

Now, IMO, here’s the REALLY BAD part that I was discussing with my husband while getting ready for work. Dick Morris is absolutely correct in his assessment (BTW, LMAO: “anvil”) about BHO choosing Trinity (and Michelle) to polish his credentials in the Chicago south side political community.

This means that Obama has fed his CHILDREN this hateful, toxic POISON that he doesn’t subscribe to their whole lives FOR POLITICAL GAIN. This makes me sick to my stomach.

Anyone have film of Malia and Sasha sitting in the pews with Michelle and/or Barack?

  31. spacegirl,
    Good point.
I will write a new SD letter when i get back from errands pointing out the Wright scandal as well as the Dean-Brazille fiasco.

I sent one round of letters to SD’s about 3 weeks ago but it addressed different issues.

  32. Oops, that’s not true, I voted for Gore. Why do I always forget that? Must be trying to block out bad memories or something.

  33. informed

This means that Obama has fed his CHILDREN this hateful, toxic POISON that he doesn’t subscribe to their whole lives FOR POLITICAL GAIN. This makes me sick to my stomach.

    — wow i hadn’t even considered that aspect

  34. I don’t know. I’m honestly starting to believe that there is NOTHING the guy could do that would dislodge the koolaid drinkers from his back pocket. Bambi could kill his crippled granny with a butcher knife, disembowel her and drape the livingroom with her intestines, and the Obamatons would simply say, “Well, Granny WAS mean to him.” 🙄

  35. Informed in Illinois, quite right on Obama choosing to polish his ‘black’ credentials by going to this church.

    I have a question, though.

Jesse Jackson who is also from Chicago does not go to JWright’s church.

Obama could have gone to Jesse’s church and got the same credentials.

Why did he choose this particular church?

  36. Tim, do you know where the greater than and less than signs are on your keyboard? If so, just type this:

Put an i between the less than sign and greater than sign, then type what you want to be italicized. To end italics, put a forward slash i between the less than sign and greater than sign.

  37. Informed,

What I meant is something SO unjustifiable by even the koolaid-addicted BM, so abhorrent to even Pelosi and Dean (I don’t include Brazills coz she’s beyond help) that NOTHING and no one can rationalize away the incident. Of course Rezko-watch has had an impact but the public likes simple clear uncomplicated scandals. Wright is a great beginning but we need another couple of direct hits, IMHO.

    Gotta get outta here.

  38. Looks like some of our letters, research, and determination to get the “word” out is bearing fruit (again).

Heck, I was just pleased with our work to get Nafta-gate out to the Ohio papers. I’d love to take credit for the Wright and NBBP stuff too, alas…wasn’t me. 🙁

  39. Spacegirl,

I’ve been wondering as well about those unheated tenements that were in Obama’s district. His response that he never knew about them goes directly to judgement and leadership issues. He should be blasted about it. Um…unless he was only responsible for the richer areas of his district…NOT!

    Basil,

“something so unacceptable about BO has to surface, something so disgusting that not even BM can excuse it . . .”

I can’t believe you just said that…lol… “the something so unacceptable is going on right now in spades. We can’t depend on the media but we can depend on the voters to turn a deaf ear to their obvious bias.

    wwwHillBuzzBlogspotCom,

    I agree with you. 🙂

  40. @TPS: Why did he choose this particular church?

I don’t know. I used to live in the near south side and have many AA friends that belong to various churches. I’ve visited several of them including the wonderful Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church of Rev. Clay Evans’ fame. While politics from the pulpit is usual and I’ve been aware of African separatist viewpoints, I have never personally heard the kind of rhetoric I heard this last week.

I am hosting a gathering of some of my women friends and acquaintances from the old neighborhood this weekend and I’m sure this topic will come up, since most of them are AA and BHO supporters. This should be interesting and I hope to learn something new. I also hope that my friend brings her Karaoke machine to lighten the mood!

  41. Idunn, there are many on here who did get the word out. I know I, and others here, have contacted several thousand people, on many occasions, in the effort to get the “word” out. It would be naive to think that some other forces are not at play, but it would be ignorant not to understand that we have made a difference. The “Guerrilla Writers” are helping, and it ain’t over ’till Donna Brazille sings!

I have thought about that same thing and started the cut and paste like I do with this one.

Also a related comment about ignore factor. This is a free for all environment — nobody owes anybody anything except civil discourse. Like in any other social network, if you garner enough good reputation by the quality of your posts, people will read you and sometimes respond. Some are naturally drawn to a few and strike up a more familiar attitude. I read all Idunn’s posts because most of them make me smile but rarely ever do I respond. It is possible you think highly of your posts but others may not recognize or care as much. For that reason alone we need not invest too much emotion in any of this. But most of us have used it with some success in making this a community of shared purpose to help Hillary. My thanks are to some of the more activists in us that have made this more than just a chat room. I also look forward to the links of articles because I don’t want to venture into MSM to hear their intellectually dishonest discourse.

There, you have my 2 cents a commentary on social networking.

  43. My opinion about Obama’s ability to know that we shouldn’t go into Iraq maybe that he had inside knowledge? His frendship with Rezko and Rezko’s friendship with Auchi may be the catalyst to know exactly how it would turn out. I understand that Auchi was hoping that Blandejevich would run for President and squelch any efforts to go to Iraq. Auchi, from all I have read wanted the political establishment to help stop the advancing plans to stop the war. We do know that Auchi was in bed with Sadaam and oil for food program. So, I wish we could find a link for this somehow?

  49. Great post and EXCELLENT title!

“Obama repeatedly stated he would have walked out of his church if he had heard things that made him “uncomfortable”. For 20 years Obama remained comfortable.”

He remained comfortable. And, for somebody who claims they love this country immensely and wants to take on the all important job of leading it (afterall, isn’t that what a president is supposed to think and feel? Patriotism…), he didn’t seem to find fault in the ridiculous words that Jeremiah Wright spoke.

  50. The comments from his listeners Wednesday morning were far different.

“It was a great speech,” one man said. “But what concerns me is that on the website for his church, they say they are unabashedly Afro-centric. … The underlying message is they are perpetual victims and they enjoy the victim status and by proxy, me as a white person is their victimizer. And as long as we perpetuate these divisions, we will never heal.”

Yep, and these kinds of power struggles are simply, well…power struggles. If a white supremist can convince whites that they are the victims of blacks, then they have the power to keep black people in a little box. And if a black supremist can convince blacks that they are the victims of whites, then they have the power to control the narrative. That’s all these hate groups want to do, grab and hold on to power. Take away the weapon from BOTH sides, and then you can have real unity. Until you do that, there will ALWAYS be racial divisions in this country.

  51. SUGAR, the interesting thing is Jesse Jackson had enough political instincts to stay away from Jwright’s church.

  52. You won’t hear this point of view in most of the media.

    Obama blew it

What the candidate should have said about race.
    By Michael Meyers
    March 20, 2008
Tim Rutten’s column, “Obama’s Lincoln moment” and The Times editorial, “Obama on race” both miss the mark.

In my considered judgment as a race and civil rights specialist, I would say that Barack Obama’s “momentous” speech on race settled on merely “explaining” so-called racial differences between blacks and whites — and in so doing amplified deep-seated racial tensions and divisions. Instead of giving us a polarizing treatise on the “black experience,” Obama should have reiterated the theme that has brought so many to his campaign: That race ain’t what it used to be in America.

  53. Giving a speech on race was inappropriate. He swept up the entire AA community into Wright. He didn’t apologize for not leaving this guy. I find it almost absurd that he gave this speech.

Also, “pledged” delegates doesn’t mean anything. They can vote for whomever they want at the convention.

  54. TPS, I’d venture a guess that there are probably dozens of churches he could have attended and still been able to curry favor in the AA community. Hell, in most major cities, you can barely throw a rock on some blocks without hitting one! There is something more to this story and his membership. I just feel it, but I don’t know what it is!!!

  55. What Obama has done is thrown the race issue in everyone’s face now. Any steps forward from the 1960’s until now have been damaged by his rhetoric.

And all so he could save face and to hell with the rest of the country.

  56. Sugar, I suggested you for cross posting at No Quarter. Get in touch with Susan over there if you write something you want to cross post. It’s a very popular blog.

  57. Look, lots of people do shitty things to me every single day. They do it sometimes because I’m a woman, sometimes because I’m bi-racial , sometimes because I’m a tree hugging hippy, and sometimes just because they think I’m an asshole. I hold the individual responsible. Period. If a muslim named Amed attacks me, I blame Amed, not all muslims. If white man named Fred breaks into my house and steals my wallet, would I blame all white people? Do I blame every black person for the one black idiot who jacked my stereo out of my car? No. And why don’t I blame a group rather than the individual? Because I don’t have a NEED to erase individual responsibilty in order to serve some larger agenda.

    Simply as that.

  58. Especially in Chicago, Sugar. I really dislike how he attempted to paint all aa churches with the Wright brush.

  59. @space & basil-

I really think the approach to the SDs should be:

What is happening to Hillary Clinton in 2008 is exactly what happened to Al Gore in 2000. The experienced, tested, knowlegable and vetted candidate is deemed boring, not likable, un-cool. Not the one you want to have a beer with. What a mistake that was in 2000.

I point this out when I am phone banking and it has resonance with people. Obama really is doing what Bush did in 2000 by appealing to peoples emotions and repeating the same uplifting refrain over and over. “hope” & “change” could very easily be “compassionate conservative” THe only difference between the two is the audience.

Hillary offers real practical solutions. She is the meat and potatoes, get in there and fix it candidate, and she isn’t afraid to talk about it.

  60. Mark Penn, Clinton’s chief strategist, issued a memo this morning that argues that polls are starting to show a shift her way.

“The more that the voters learn about Barack Obama, the more his ability to beat John McCain is declining compared to Hillary,” Penn posits in the memo. “For a long time we have explained that poll numbers for a candidate who has not yet been vetted or tested are not firm numbers, and we are beginning to see that clearly.”

The memo cites several polls — nationwide and in key upcoming states — that show Clinton leading Obama and Clinton faring better against presumptive Republican nominee John McCain.

“Ultimately, this Democratic nominating process is meant to select the candidate who will: a) be the best president – the best commander-in-chief, steward of the economy, and exercise leadership; b) defeat John McCain; and c) promote and defend core Democratic principles such as universal health care. On all three fronts, Hillary is the best choice for the Democratic Party,” Penn writes.

  61. SUGAR, one more question:

Why did he pick Chicago after Harvard?

He had no roots in Chicago.

I think there is a strong connection betwene him picking Chicago and this church. He admitted that he used to listen to tapes of JWright when he was at Harvard. Who introduced him to these tapes and to JWright’s speeches? Wright must not have been that well known when he was at Harvard. Was he?

  63. 2 questions: What’s going on with the Rezco trial and how long will it go on?

Looking at O’s speech as objectively as possible, did he propose any solution to the race problem?
I am a little dumbfounded at the realization by some that we have a race problem. I thought that a major part of O’s appeal was that we would get past it because of the fact of him. I thought he kept telling us that Hill and Bill and their supporters were old-school racists which you could tell by their racist comments like “roll of the dice” (Charlie Rose’s comment actually)

Is not the upshot of this ‘great’ speech that if we elect Obama, white racists will lose or he will hunt them down but black racists will feel so much better and we will understand their anger.

In short, what did we learn from the “adult” speech and what are we now supposed to do?

I agree, Sugar. And I’ll even go you one better, I think the reason he latched onto this church and this minister is BECAUSE he wants to use this black power agenda to grab his own share of the power. Now, he’s certainly free to do that…just like Sharpton is free to do that, and just like David Duke is free to do that. But the rest of us who care about REAL unity…those of us who could give a rats ass about those kinds of stupid power struggles…we’re free to call a pigs ear a pigs ear, and not buy it.

  65. freckles, go to Chicago Tribune today for the details. Essentially, Stu Levine the key witness against Rezko fingered the governor yesterday. It is the front page story here. It will go on for at least another month.

  66. SpacegirlArt, you mean the response to factcheck’s debunking of the BG story. My bet is this story is a favor to Teddy.

Reposted because I think it’s a damned good questions, and I’d like to know the answer too, if anyone can provide them.

  68. I think he went to Chicago after Harvard because Rezko tried to hire him.

… only BHO had even bigger plans and Rezko was more than happy to accomodate him

  69. I think he went to Chicago after Harvard because Rezko tried to hire him.

I don’t know. I know Daly latched on to him right away. Maybe Daly handpicked him.

  70. Rezko wanted to hire him but BO told told him of his political ambitions and Rezko and he both realized there was even more opportunity in that- along with Daly

  71. The word that comes to my mind for all of his choices, since leaving Hawaii, is: calculated.

    Everything for a reason…

  72. He was raised in Kansas, right? By his grandparents? How did he end up going to Harvard? We’re the grandparents well off, or did he get a scholarship?

Damn, I honestly don’t know squat about his background. Kinda wish I had read one of his books now. 🙁

    SUGAR, one more question:

Why did he pick Chicago after Harvard?

TPS, I’ve said the same thing. He was listening to those tapes in college. So, did Wright draw him to Chicago?

  74. I still dont know what the hell a community organizer is, anyways? I’ve asked this before, what did he do? Are there any records? Can he point out something that improved or was more organized? No.

    So in the end…

He was organizing the community around his big house by supporting a corrupt developer who got an Iraqi billionaire with money from Saddam Hussein to buy large tracks of land in south side Chicago. Well that’s very organized isn’t it?

Too bad he wasn’t organized enough to check that the tenants in his district had heat.

  75. Didn’t he get a job at a Chicago lawfirm…working with Michelle or something? Maybe that’s why he moved to Chicago.

  76. James Rosen of Fox news was on Laura Ingrahm this morning. He was going over Obama’s ‘changing positions’ on Iraq. She asked him where he got most of his information. He mentioned one source and then said, he went to Hillary’s website and the interesting thing was that both he and Hillary voted 85 times the exact same way on Iraq. He said the one different vote was concerning Gen. Casey who was in charge of Iraq’s operation inIraq. He said that it stands to reason that if he was really against the war, he would have voted a different way. He said Hillary voted ‘NO’ and guess what, Obama voted Yes.

I expect that fox will follow up on this story.

**just heard that Obama is going on the view. He was aon Ac360, Larry King tonight. She said that she’s looking at poll numbers and of course he has to do something to staunch the bleeding. She says that is why he is doing this.

She citing poll after poll after poll. This is only a snap shot in time, we’ll have to see if there is any long term damage.

Now, she’s ridiculing him about his Imus comment.

  77. mj, he did get a scholarship for his Hawaii prep school.

How he went to Columbia and Harvard? Affirmative action could have played a role there.

I think there is a good chance he was drawn to Chicago by Wright. In other words, he liked what he heard from Wright despite all his protestations today.

    Oh, ok, my bad.

  79. pm,

I am sure he could have done community organizing in any number of big cities, Boston, New York, Atlanta. He picked Chicago and I think that is because he was drawn to JWright.

You will have to find a citation for that. I don’t think that’s true. I support affirmative action, so thats meaningless to me. But he had good grades and went to prep school and was a legacy student(through Dad), so I doubt that’s the case.

  81. I would just like to remind everyone. Super’s can change their current vote (as can caucus delegates) and there is a lot of time left….keep this in mind too…

The express mission of the superdelegates is to avoid a general-election disaster like George McGovern, and not to simply rubber-stamp the popular vote or the pledged-delegate leader.

It ain’t over ’till Donna Brazille sings.

Idunn, TPS and mj, there is definitely something that we are missing. Idunn, I think you are dead on about his wanting to grab the Black Power agenda, but how could he think that would get him into the White House? My mind is churning right now! So many questions!!! So few answers! He said he turned Rezko down for the job offer, but…gosh, we need to get some more information!

    ______________
He was in New York City and he couldn’t find any communities to organize???? Naw, something smells awfully fishy.

  84. i remember reading somewhere months ago that he worked for one of those community activist groups like nyprg.

  85. “Ultimately, this Democratic nominating process is meant to select the candidate who will: a) be the best president – the best commander-in-chief, steward of the economy, and exercise leadership; b) defeat John McCain; and c) promote and defend core Democratic principles such as universal health care. This, in a nutshell, is an excellent argument for Hillary’s candidacy. She and we need to keep pounding this till the cows come home.

BTW, it is undeniable that the “math” right now favors Obama. But just about everything else tilts toward HRC at the moment, and that’s pretty important. To me, the bottom line is, do the Dems want to win in November? If they choose Obama, the answer is clearly no.

  86. so, what will happen to MI & FL.. do they seat them in convention or not… will they revote in MI…

  87. i think if they revote in MI & FL… hillary will lead him in pledged delegates… even if they go by the previous results.. she would lead him in pledged delegates i think..

  90. Idunn, I think you are dead on about his wanting to grab the Black Power agenda, but how could he think that would get him into the White House?

Call me crazy, but I don’t think the plan WAS to get into the WH. At least, not initially. I think the plan was to grab the power, get a powerful potion in Chicago , make alot of cash through “power brokers” , and that was pretty much it. Then, for some reason, the agenda changes and the bid for the WH comes into play. Now he’s already set himself up with all these things like Wright and Rezko, and it’s a problem. I honestly think he thought he could keep this stuff hidden until he got the nom. And he ALMOST did.

  91. Idunn, I think you are exactly right. *sigh* Now, that is a story! Some guy nearly slips into the White House on a whim!

  92. Another thing…he pulled the race card VERY early in the primary race. Maybe he felt like putting everyone into the “too scared to speak” box, would keep people from exposing his ties to Wright and Rezko.

  93. can someone please answer my question… what will happen to FL & MI… without them, how can she win the nomination…

  94. this is my best scenario for PA

    1. she wins by 67 – 33
    2. She wins by 600,000 popular vote
    3. She picks up 50 delegates more than obama, i.e she will get 108 delegates..

Yes he did and that is an excellent point as well. In that clip that admin posted yesterday where he was contradicted and we see MO saying, “As a Black man, Barack could be shot going to get some gas,” or some such foolishness (as if the same doesn’t apply to men of other colors), they were the ones doing all of the race baiting from the start!!!

  97. PA is important that may hillary people go and vote so that she can have huge lead in popular vote… what do you say…

  98. @mj.. do you think hillary can have 50 delegates more than obama from PA and have 500,000 more popular vote than obama in PA…

  99. mj, I am very sure about the fact that he got a scholarship to attend Hawaii. I have seen this fact mentioned in many articles in the media. I am sure if I did a Google serach I can find the cite for you.

@mj.. do you think hillary can have 50 delegates more than obama from PA and have 500,000 more popular vote than obama in PA…

    Yes, it’s possible.

  101. mj,

here is a NY Times link on Obama’s scholarship.

    thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/02/26/hawaii-senator-apologizes-to-obama/

  102. jithendra, I think she’ll need the votes counted in FL at least to catch Obama in the popular vote. But if she gets close enough in the popular in the remaining states, and they don’t count FL, she’ll have a great case to make that she was ripped off.

BTW, all this coverage of what Hillary was doing when Bill was meeting Monica only helps her, because it’ll just piss off women even more. It’s just another in a long line of examples of how the sexist MSM is demeaning Hillary. It also reminds people of how much she’s accomplished since then, going from a humiliated wife to a respected, hard-working, successful senator and now a strong, viable candidate for president. According to a comment I read on TM, comments under stories about the Lewinsky thing are mostly taking the media to task for rehashing this shit again.

  103. For pledged delegates, ones that cannot change their vote, Hillary can mathematically achieve a lead if she wins 60% of the vote (average) for remaining states. I think this is possible, but less likely. The caucus delegates and super-delegates (regardless of their current affiliation) can change their votes at the convention based on personal preference. They should vote for who can win the GE, since that is their sole reason for existing (i.e. not to repeat McGovern). They are not bound by any past votes in any way, nor are they bound by any other statistic. They can vote based on their own free will and their own judgment.

As for the popular vote, if Florida and Michigan count, Hillary will likely have a slight lead at the end. If they do not count, then Bambi will continue to have his lead.

Despite what Bambi-bots and Bambi chatterheads say, the person who will win the nomination, in a race this close, will and should be chosen based on who can beat McCain in the General Election. That is the bottom line.

  104. mj,

Even with FL and MI neither candidate would have enough delegates to win the nomination. If the DNC were to seat both states as is, instead of needing 2025 delegates to win the nomination the nominee would need 2208. Either way the SD will decide the nominee.

  105. Obama was a scholarship student at the Punahou School, an elite prep school in Honololu. Two pages from his 1978 senior class yearbook show him playing basketball, and going by the name Barry. He later insisted on the name on his birth certificate (which was also his father’s name), which means “Blessed” in Arabic.

  106. Actually, that’s one of the reasons I’m so proud of Hillary – how she refused to let her humiliation be the defining moment in her public life. Her resilience is incredible.

As for PA, I think she can win the state by 15 to 20 points. How that will translate into a popular vote margin, I don’t know. Having Gov. Rendell and Philly Mayor Michael Nutter on her side is huge, and could help her increase her margin.

  107. >>jithendra, I think she’ll need the votes counted in FL at least to catch Obama in the popular vote.

@paula… without FL & MI.. obama leads in popular vote by 700K… if she can win PA by 500K popular vote… she can make up for the remaining 200K votes in the other states.. she may not lead him pledged delegates without FL & MI.. but she can bring the obama’ lead under 70 or so… now he leads in pledged delegates by 160… if she can get 50 delegates more than obama in PA, the lead is down to 110… and she can win 60 more delegates than obama in remaining 9 states.. what do you say..

Exactly right, girl. The problem is, Bambi and Co. want to turn back the clock in order to stir up AA angst, but then they want to fast forward to the future, to keep the young white vote. See, I think the truth of our racial problems lie somewhere in between the two. Alot of older black folks cling the hurt and bitterness over segregation. And alot of older white folks still feel guilty over it. Now, the new kids just coming up, they envision a world where there IS no racial prejudice at all. And that’s great in terms of what we CAN have in the future, but it isn’t the truth of where we are right now. Now, baby boomers, I think we’re the ONLY ones who know the real deal, and that is that we’re actually somewhere between the past and the future. (that doesn’t sound quite right, but you get the drift, I’m sure). Anyway, Barack is a baby boomer, he knows the deal…he’s just trying to play both sides of the coin for his own personal game.

Which, imo, makes him retarded. LOL…how the hell did he EVER think that was going to work??

  109. >.As for PA, I think she can win the state by 15 to 20 points.

i think she sould be winning PA by more than 25 points…

  110. Kaffeen, most primary pledged delegates can alsot vote for whomever they choose. Thats a little secret the media isn’t telling.

  111. jithendra, I think a 25-point margin isn’t realistic at this point. And I’m a resident of the state, lol.

  112. Illinois State Sen. James Meeks:

That was back in 2006. Since then, Meeks, an Obama pledged delegate, has backed off his word choice:

Obama on WIP: My grandmother’s a “typical white person”

We thought we heard this, but we wanted to go back and listen to the clip of Sen. Barack Obama on 610 WIP this morning to be sure.

610 WIP host Angelo Cataldi asked Obama about his Tuesday morning speech on race at the National Constitution Center in which he referenced his own white grandmother and her prejudice. Obama told Cataldi that “The point I was making was not that my grandmother harbors any racial animosity, but that she is a typical white person. If she sees somebody on the street that she doesn’t know (pause) there’s a reaction in her that doesn’t go away and it comes out in the wrong way.”

We doubt this story will have legs, but wonder if Hillary Clinton referred to a “typical black person,” would we ever hear the end of it?

Mika was looking increasingly uncomfortable because she does not like what she heard from her candidate BHO this week, plus, her Dad, aka Dr. Brezynski (sp?) was on the program spouting conventional wisdom re BHO from the viewpoint of the increasingly discredited “liberal intelligentsia.”

  125. MY Personal impression of his 1st book – written by an angry, disturbed young man…..

I’ll cut him some slack in this respect. He did have one batshit crazy upbringing.

GOP does the delegate much better.

DNC delegate system is full of SHIT!….it is their “affirmative action way”

  130. DNC delegate system is full of SHIT!

it basically works something like this: if you’re a granny who owns a dairy farm in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, you get 3 more delegates the the young college student in the city. UNLESS you’ve been married more then once, then you we strip you of 1/2 a delegate. UNLESS you’ve recently moved from the city, in which case we’ll give you 2 extra delegates, but you’ll have to split them with the farmer who raises corn for ethanol, but then he’ll have to lose 1/2 a delegate because his sister lives in public housing. Then, after all this is figured out, we’ll just throw all the delegates into a big hat, and allot them however the hell we want to.

    Something like that. 😉

  131. BO’s “Community organising” was talking to those people who have their own issues and need someonne to talk to.
If the person they talk to is a “hoodwinker” and a “bamboozler” well their their organiser.

    It is like free therapy.

BO listen to these people – mainly women – who vented their concerns. He just nodded annd talked smooth!
And then these women persisted by telling him he needs to join a church…oh we know that – WRIGHT baby?

    That is called BO’s organising!

  133. Gallup Daily: Clinton Holds Onto Lead Over Obama
McCain has slim advantage in general election preferences

PRINCETON, NJ — The latest Gallup Poll Daily tracking shows Hillary Clinton with a five percentage point lead over Barack Obama in national Democratic voters’ nomination preferences, 48% to 43%.

This marks the second consecutive day of Gallup Poll Daily tracking showing Clinton with a statistically significant lead over Obama, something she had not accomplished since Feb. 7-9 polling. Clinton’s recent momentum has coincided with the controversy created by Obama’s association with controversial preacher Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

Obama made a major speech on Tuesday addressing the race issue in large part to help move past the controversy. While Tuesday night polling showed no immediate benefit for Obama, the Wednesday results were more favorable to him, as reflected in the slight drop in Clinton’s three-day average lead. This suggests at least the possibility that Obama has stopped his losses. The tracking data over the next several days will be a crucial indicator of the lasting impact, if any, of the Wright controversy.

Currently, registered voters express a slight preference for John McCain rather than either of the Democrats for the general presidential election. McCain has a 47% to 43% lead over Obama, and holds a 48% to 45% edge over Clinton. Both sets of numbers are unchanged from Wednesday’s release. — Jeff Jones

Methodology: Gallup is interviewing no fewer than 1,000 U.S. adults nationwide each day during 2008.

The general election results are based on combined data from March 15-19, 2008. For results based on this sample of 4,354 registered voters, the maximum margin of sampling error is ±2 percentage points.

The Democratic nomination results are based on combined data from March 17-19, 2008. For results based on this sample of 1,219 Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters, the maximum margin of sampling error is ±3 percentage points.

In addition to sampling error, question wording and practical difficulties in conducting surveys can introduce error or bias into the findings of public opinion polls.

  134. As I reported earlier, Obambi is attacking Hill on NAFTA….same ole’ okie doke….

On a campaign conference call just now chief strategist David Axelrod said Clinton “owes an apology to the people of this country” for suggesting that she hadn’t been involved in passing NAFTA when her schedules provide “direct, incontrovertible evidence that Senator Clinton was involved on this issue.”

  135. As we peel back the layers of the onion and find out more about who Barack Obama really is and who his racist, sexist, homophobic, terrorist and political fixer and Amrica hating friends are questions of judgment and character abound.

But this does not fully answer the question of why. Part of it is his personality. Beneathe the outward layer of affability he is arrogant, egotistical and self absorbed–and to that extent insular. Part of it is crass political opportunism–bordering on Machiavellianism.

The remainder may be the simple fact that he is a 46 year old man with a conflicted childhood still tying to discover who he really is. To be fair we all go through this process at some point but normally it ends by the time we are 26, whereas in his case it continues on ad infinitum. The two novels he has written bear witness to this.

Which raises an interesting question: do we want our next president to be someone who is trying to resolve an identity crisis or one who will solve the problems of our country. Because if it is the latter then Hillary is the answer.

  136. And this DENVER/DNC meeting in aug 2008, has one key participating senator into fundraising frenzy today.

Senator Dudd – the “white hared yuppy duppy frumpy dude” from CT is asking your help with your free money for that
    Dean and Nancy’s Congregational meeting.

Yes that very same meeting that will be praying “GOD DAMN AMERICA” and its newly added verse “GOD BARACK AMERICA”

As you well know, this new verse was written and added by none other than Senator Dudd’s esteem friends in MA – Kerry/Kennedy!

    Any supporters here?

  137. Which raises an interesting question: do we want our next president to be someone who is trying to resolve an identity crisis or one who will solve the problems of our country.

I’m less concerned about his identity issues and more concerned about the fact that he’s a retard.

  138. Idunn says, “I’m less concerned about his identity issues and more concerned about the fact that he’s a retard.”

As usual, succinct and to the point…lol

  139. wbboei, I seriously believe he has some real fucked up issues regarding his dad who abandoned him, and his white mom. I think some of his almost desperate “identifying” with the AA community in Chicago, like joining the most militant church he could find, are part and parcel of his confusion about who he is.

I have human sympathy for him over that. I really do. But dude, if you have those kind of identity issues, you thoroughly resolve them and get your soul centered and balanced BEFORE you decide to run for POTUS. You don’t narcissistically drag the entire country into your racial identity therapy session with you, and call it a primary.

  140. someone needs to send the Gergen video clip to Axelrod. What an a**. Apologize for what????? Another distraction technique.

  141. Well, where the heck does he come off on NAFTA after his people meet with Canada. As for that poll, if Dem’s are as clueless to think Wright will not be in every 527 ad next fall, then I will just grab some popcorn and sit back and laugh at them when BO loses.

  142. Pass it on: Obama’s church reprinted Hamas terror manifesto.

  143. Idunn:

You are an awesome writer!…. smart, witty, precise, quick, humorous and so on!

    Do you write professionally?

  144. Do you write professionally?

I used to write for an alternative magazine. Now I’m just a lowly farm wife…and that’s fine by me. 😉

  145. I am believing that Idunn showered in holy water this morning. She is right on target today 😀

  146. Idunn, you should write. I was in the book business. You have an unusual voice and a great imagination. You should write fiction.

  147. hi hillfans. west virginia is looking sweet for our girl. rasmussen has it hillary 55% to the punk’s 27%. SWEET!!! today is payday so i donated another $10.44. not much but adds up! YAY!

  148. I have to say though, MP…how you would have ever guessed that I’ve written professionally, simply by reading the half-assed stuff I write here, is beyond me.

  149. MJ, I don’t even READ fiction, why the hell would I WRITE it? 😉

But thanks. Always nice to recieve compliments, even if I haven’t mastered the art of graciously accepting them.

  150. mj,
Don’t take this the wrong way but you’ve been unusually calm these last few weeks. What happened?

  151. Idunn, how can you not read fiction? You read Harry Potter.

Yes, and my favorite writers are Herman Hesse and Mikail Bulgakov.

    I’m a walking contradiction,
    Partly truth and partly fiction.

    😉

  152. Hillfans, here’s a real mission for you.

Can you find any evidence that Obama has trained or taken classes in motivational speaking?

Can you find any evidence that Obama has trained or taken classes in motivational speaking?

I was thinking that’s what he did at Church listening to Wright.

  154. Can you find any evidence that Obama has trained or taken classes in motivational speaking?

    What? Why?

  155. I received the question in the RW inbox and wondered if anyone either had an idea or could help figure it out. It makes sense. No?

  156. She said BO was the first black male leader not to try and be a victim or something. It was totally insulting.

  157. I mean, why is the MSM not blasting her comments? They were far more insulting than anything a Hill supporter has said.

  158. Well, I’m sure he’s taken classes in public speaking. I know that I have, and I’m not even running for office. But motivational speaking? Hmmm…I dunno. I’ll fish around.

Incidentally, who else is sending the hammas info around? Anyone?

  159. Didn’t Bill Clinton campaign for McCaskill in 06 because she was afraid HRC was too polarizing? Now she’s throwing her name behind BO who couldn’t carry Missouri if his life depended on it.

  160. She said BO was the first black male leader not to try and be a victim or something. It was totally insulting.

I thought she said that this was the first time in the campaign that Gumby wasn’t acting like a victim.

    Yep.

  162. Merryfield: I bet, Wright was a mentor for BO’s speaking skills, and how to play to an audience. What is wrong with taking a class in motivational speaking? People do it all the time. Toastmasters is an example.

  163. Idunn Says:

Well, that would be more honest.

  164. Nope, Idunn, she said that he was the first black leader not to play the victim, or come across as a victim, or something like that.

I have news for Claire. MLK did NOT come across as a victim! Whiny purse-lipped little skank.

  165. guys – what’s Sean Hannity’s email? let’s bombard his inbox with the kerry “because he’s a black man” statement – see if the hypocritical MSM will pick this one up.

  166. Neither did Shirley Chisholm, John Lewis(though he actually was a victim of violence), Jesse Jackson in his presidential run(though he made some disparing remarks about the Jews), the list goes on and on. Claire is an idiot, or as the BO crew would say, a racist. Heh.

  167. Late to the party, but I don’t think we should be escalating Hillary’s chances as far as PA is concerned. 60% is a little too much pressure to put on this wonderful lady. It’s bad enough that the other side will raise expectations and then capitalize on whatever they can once the results are in, but I do think that lowered expectations are the way to go.

    Just my humble opinion.

  168. New story on http://www.politwix.com

The Democratic Party is sinking in quicksand. The more time that goes by without consensus on the allocation of Florida’s primary votes, the more ridiculous the party looks. There is no justification for not allocating votes the way they would have been had the primary not been moved up by the Florida’s Republican Legislature. Both candidate’s names were on the ballot, neither candidate campaigned there (although Obama did have an “accidental” media buy that ran some commercials there), and there was a record turnout. Any opposition to that prospect is a thinly veiled attempted to thwart the will of the people.

With 230 delegates at stake, any attempt to disenfranchise voters in Florida will have profound consequences, especially for Clinton. The will of the majority of Florida’s democrats is that Hillary Rodham Clinton should become the party nominee for the presidency. Clinton garnered nearly 50% of the total vote with Barack Obama gaining 33% and John Edwards 14.4%. The Obama camp is pushing hard to split the vote 50-50 between the two candidates, arguing that the John Edwards supporters would have voted for him; a line of thought that not only comes off as arrogant, but in the eyes of many looks like an attempt to steal the election.

Michigan is slightly more complicated. When Michigan democrats insisted on moving up their primary, the DNC informed them that their votes would not count. John Edwards and Barack Obama voluntarily removed their names from the ballot, a move some have questioned as a possible attempt to invalidate any later attempt to seat Michigan’s delegates at the convention. Again, Michigan is a state that would apparently have been a Clinton stronghold. In the primary that was held, Clinton, whose name was on the ballot, received 55.3% of the vote with 40% going to ”Uncommitted”. Obama and Edwards’s supporters were told to vote “Uncommitted”. The total number of delegates available for the state of Michigan would have been 156.

There is a DNC approved proposal being presented to the Michigan legislators that would allow for a revote, but it is being held up by Obama’s lawyers, their main concern being that independents and republicans would not be able to vote and would be disenfranchised. So, let me get this straight…Obama is willing to disenfranchise every democrat in Michigan because Independents and Republicans can’t vote in a Michigan redo? That is non-sensical. The clock is ticking, and today will likely be the last opportunity for Obama to sign on to a re-vote in Michigan. Should the Michigan legislature break today for recess, all hope for a fair solution to seating Michigan delegates will be lost.

The only way a win by either candidate can appear legitimate now is by seating all delegates in Florida and a revote in Michigan.

Howard Dean has at best shown zero leadership in allowing this situation to fester for so long without resolution. At worst, the DNC is subversively trying to throw this election to Obama. As a lifetime Democrat, I am embarrassed to admit that I think it might be the latter.

  169. HillaryforTexas,
You can add Medgar Evars, FannieLou Hamer, and Rosa Parks to that list. Where in the world has Claire been for the last 60yrs?

  170. Nothing at all wrong with motivational speaking. It’s just one more piece of evidence that he’s an empty suit. Take away the tricks of the trade and the teleprompter and what’s left?

  171. Nothing at all wrong with motivational speaking. It’s just one more piece of evidence that he’s an empty suit. Take away the tricks of the trade and the teleprompter and what’s left?

    A retard. 😉

  172. mj,
The media has been asleep at the wheel when it comes to reporting on BO and his surrogates. Also, the Wright issue has dominated for a few days now.

  173. Hamas reprint = explosion if it gets out to the Media. Can you imagine Barack’s church prints terrorist handbook in their weekly newsletter.
“When your opponent is drowning give them an anvil”

  174. Has anyone else noticed that ‘Teleprompter Look’ Obama is beginning to get…it is wierd…almost everything he does is on teleprompter with his head and eyes going from side to side and no direct forward eye contact…

    strange…so much for insprirational speeches

  175. You can also add Frederick Douglass, Sorjourner Truth , Thurgood Marshall, and Eugene Bullard to the list.

  176. nikki, I get really sick of how he and his surrogates USE and discard the black community as a whole to prop him up.

My pastor says hateful things? Well, all black pastors talk like that. NO, Obama, they DON’T! Don’t try to put that mess on the heads of the entire AA church community.

Now they’ve gone from comparing him to the black heroes of the past to basically saying he is a step above them. Pleeeeeze. He can’t hold a candle to those men and women who actually sacrificed and accomplished so much for civil rights. What the hell has he ever done to compare to them?

  177. All those people who are proclaiming that the democratic party is defeating itself, well, I really don’t care to be honest. It’s either Hillary or McCain for me. I suspect I am not alone.

  178. Hi, I’m on lunch – where do I start?

I’d be surprised if the choice of Wright was primarily about learning motivational speaking, but I agree that likely was an added benefit. I think that Dick Morris may have been unwisely divulging real truth about BHO choosing Trinity to burnish BHO’s AA cred’s as a way to prove that he “may not really believe all that stuff.” But, you never know.

The political operative (an HRC supporter) who says he mentored BHO on the south shore during his “community organizing” days before law school told me that BHO asked him for advice and he told him to go to law school, although that doesn’t seem to jibe with the chronology some have set out (I haven’t read the book).

I think that the choice of Trinity came later after he came back from Harvard. Question: was it also after he elbowed Alice Palmer out of the way and later got his clock cleaned by Bobby Rush? That was when Congressman Rush told voters that he “wasn’t black enough.” That may give further credence to the *ick Morris opinion.

Either way, he’s a liar and a hypocrite.

  179. With Easter weekend coming, I bet the Obama campaign thinks this will all die down.

I hope it stays strong into the next millenium!

  180. HillaryforTexas,
I really hope this hasn’t damaged the chances for future black politicians. I mean I think people like Harold Ford or Cory Booker in Newark would make fine choices for POTUS some day. One of the things I liked about BO’s candidacy, even after I switched to Hill, was that he was being taken seriously & not pigeonholed as “the black candidate”. Same thing goes for HRC- she’s not just the woman candidate. As an African American woman that really made me proud to be a democrat. Now I’m not so sure.

  181. Actually, John idiot Kerry, where ever you find extremism, you find oppressed women. So a woman as the leader of the free world, the end of the patriarchy, is probably a better method to curtailing extremism, you dumb, hapless loser.

  182. John Kerry says bluntly that Barack Obama has the potential to “bridge the divide in religious extremismbecause ” because he is african america, because he is a black man.”

ROTFLMAO!! Yes, it’s true…Bin Laden will see a black face in the WH say, “Oh…wait. American is a great place now. They are not blue eyed devils at all…they are our buds, dudes!”

Is that how that’s gonna work out, Senator Retard?

  183. jub: Kerry can say that, BO is a bridge, but it does not make him qualified to be POTUS. In fact, it hurts his credibility with our allies. What an idiotic thing to say. Kerry and Caskill are sinking very rapidly. They have poor judgement and no credibility.

  184. John Kerry is not only a loser but also a racist. I am surprised at what he said. This is outrageous. Tiger Woods would have made a much better candidate than Hussein Obama. If the logic holds, why don’t we let Osama Bin Laden be our leader so we can bridge the divide in religious extremism. The DNC leaders are so f*ed up.

  185. Wbboei,
    ROTF!

The remainder may be the simple fact that he is a 46 year old man with a conflicted childhood still tying to discover who he really is. To be fair we all go through this process at some point but normally it ends by the time we are 26, whereas in his case it continues on ad infinitum.

    – “FactChecker: Klein: Obama’s church published Hamas terror manifesto

Aaron Klein, American journalist and Middle East correspondent and head of WorldNetDaily’s Jerusalem bureau, reported March 20, 2008, that Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.)’s church, Trinity United Church of Christ led by Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. “reprinted a manifesto by Hamas that defended terrorism as legitimate resistance, refused to recognize the right of Israel to exist and compared the terror group’s official charter – which calls for the murder of Jews – to America’s Declaration of Independence.”

The Hamas piece was published in the personal section of the Trinity United Church of Christ newsletter titled “Pastor’s Page” and reserved for Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr., whose anti-American, anti-Israel remarks landed Obama in hot water, prompting the presidential candidate to deliver a major race speech earlier this week.”

  190. nikki, that is a concern of mine as well. I really really hope that his disaster of a candidacy hasn’t set back progress in getting a qualified AA elected. It doesn’t for most people, I don’t think. At least I hope.

No, he’s saying you should vote for him because he’s some kind of mysterious black bridge. Pat attention, fer chrissake.

  198. Yes, but isn’t Lanny jewish? He has every right to speak his mind outside of Hillary. Lanny was BC’s impeachment lawyer.

  199. mj,

I agree. And I have no doubt that she will.

Isn’t it sad that she keeps having to call the media out for all of their stupid mistakes over and over and over again?

The fifth estate (media) are never going to recover their self-respect or our respect for them after this sorry election is over.

  205. confloyd:

My post said – according to his first book – that he lived with an illegal pakistani in NY while at columbia. Per the book, I believe he referred to his guy (not lady) as Sadiq! if I remember; Of course the name would be different in real life.

also per his book, his best friend at Occidental, CA was referred to as a UK born rich Pakistani who is still friends with… I forgot his name; may have attended his wedding to MO.

No Ann mentioned but he refers to a white gir friend in NY who later he dropped because “she did/would not understand his black ways”… I remembe thinkning about this when he said on that debate to Hill.. “you are likeable enough!” chavinistic moment.

I never bought his book but borrowed it from my library.

  206. I guess we shouldn’t come down too hard on Gumby guys, I mean , he’s really just a “typical black guy”, always trying to rob ya of something. 🙄

  207. From now till the PA primary, Hillary needs to keep Obama on the defence and off message. With everything that is coming out about BO that should not be too hard. Will the information about his church and Hammas show up on some news organizations tonight??? Also, what about him dragging is feet about MI and FL, why is not getting more press 🙁
I would think that would play big in FL and MI????

  208. Basil, too true! I’ve always thought that BHO was eerily similar to GWB. If you criticize GWB, your unpatriotic! For BHO, substitute “racist.” It will take our Hillary to get us off this icky “playground.”

    Hamas leader Mousa Abu Marzook

JERUSALEM – Sen. Barack Obama’s Chicago church reprinted a manifesto by Hamas that defended terrorism as legitimate resistance, refused to recognize the right of Israel to exist and compared the terror group’s official charter – which calls for the murder of Jews – to America’s Declaration of Independence.

The Hamas piece was published on the “Pastor’s Page” of the Trinity United Church of Christ newsletter reserved for Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr., whose anti-American, anti-Israel remarks landed Obama in hot water, prompting the presidential candidate to deliver a major race speech earlier this week.

Hamas, responsible for scores of shootings, suicide bombings and rocket launchings against civilian population centers, is listed as a terrorist group by the U.S. State Department.

The revelation follows a recent WND article quoting Israeli security officials who expressed “concern” about Robert Malley, an adviser to Obama who has advocated negotiations with Hamas and providing international assistance to the terrorist group.

In his July 22, 2007, church bulletin, Wright reprinted an article by Mousa Abu Marzook, identified in the newsletter as a “deputy of the political bureau of Hamas.” A photo image of the newsletter was captured and posted today by the business blog BizzyBlog. The Hamas piece was first published by the Los Angeles Times, garnering the newspaper much criticism.

According to senior Israeli security officials, Marzook, who resides in Syria alongside Hamas chieftain Khaled Meshaal, is considered the “brains” behind Hamas, designing much of the terror group’s policies and ideology. Israel possesses what it says is a large volume of specific evidence that Marzook has been directly involved in calling for or planning scores of Hamas terrorist offensives, including deadly suicide bombings. He was also accused of attempting to set up a Hamas network in the U.S.

Marzook’s original piece was titled, “Hamas’ stand” but was re-titled “A Fresh View of the Palestinian Struggle” by Obama’s church newsletter. The newsletter also referred to Hamas as the “Islamic Resistance Movement,” and added in its introduction that Marzook was addressing Hamas’ goals for “all of Palestine.”

In the manifesto, Marzook refers to Hamas’ “resistance” – the group’s perpetuation of anti-Israel terrorism targeting civilians – as “legal resistance,” which, he argues, is “explicitly supported by the Fourth Geneva Convention.”

The Convention, which refers to the rights of people living under occupation, does not support suicide bombings or rocket attacks against civilian population centers, the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America noted.

Marzook refers to Hamas’ official charter as “an essentially revolutionary document” and compares the violent creed to the Declaration of Independence, which, Marzook states, “simply did not countenance any such status for the 700,000 African slaves at that time.”

Hamas’ charter calls for the murder of Jews. Among its platforms is a statement that the “[resurrection] will not take place until the Muslims fight the Jews and the Muslims kill them, and the rock and the tree will say: ‘Oh Muslim, servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, kill him!'”

In his piece, Marzook says Hamas only targets Israel and denies that Hamas’ war is meant to be waged against the U.S., even though Hamas officials have threatened America, and Hamas’ charter calls for Muslims to “pursue the cause of the Movement (Hamas), all over the globe.”

Obama aide wants talks with terrorists

WND reported in January that Malley, an Obama foreign policy adviser, has penned numerous opinion articles, many of them co-written with a former adviser to the late Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat, petitioning for dialogue with Hamas and blasting Israel for policies he says harm the Palestinian cause.

Malley also previously penned a well-circulated New York Review of Books piece largely blaming Israel for the collapse of the Israeli-Palestinian negotiations at Camp David in 2000 when Arafat turned down a Palestinian state in the West Bank, Gaza and eastern sections of Jerusalem and instead returned to the Middle East to launch an intifada, or terrorist campaign, against the Jewish state.

Malley’s contentions have been strongly refuted by key participants at Camp David, including President Clinton, then-Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and primary U.S. envoy to the Middle East Dennis Ross, all of whom squarely blamed Arafat’s refusal to make peace for the talks’ failure.

In February 2006, after Hamas won a majority of seats in the Palestinian parliament and amid a U.S. and Israeli attempt to isolate the Hamas-run Palestinian Authority, Malley wrote an op-ed for the Baltimore Sun advocating international aid to the terror group’s newly formed government.

“The Islamists (Hamas) ran on a campaign of effective government and promised to improve Palestinians’ lives; they cannot do that if the international community turns its back,” wrote Malley in a piece entitled, “Making the Best of Hamas’ Victory.”

Malley contended the election of Hamas expressed Palestinian “anger at years of humiliation and loss of self-respect because of Israeli settlement expansion, Arafat’s imprisonment, Israel’s incursions, Western lecturing and, most recently and tellingly, the threat of an aid cutoff in the event of an Islamist success.”

Malley said the U.S. should not “discourage third-party unofficial contacts with [Hamas] in an attempt to moderate it.”

In an op-ed in the Washington Post in January coauthored by Arafat adviser Hussein Agha, Malley – using what could be perceived as anti-Israel language – urged Israel’s negotiating partner, Abbas, to reunite with Hamas.

“A renewed national compact and the return of Hamas to the political fold would upset Israel’s strategy of perpetuating Palestinian geographic and political division,” wrote Malley.

He further petitioned Israel to hold talks with Hamas.

“An arrangement between Israel and Hamas could advance both sides’ interests,” Malley wrote.

In numerous other op-eds, Malley advocated a policy of engagement with Hamas.

  210. Linfar….

is there a reason you didn’t link to Rezkowatch for the story on Hammas on your MyDD post, since WND is sometimes shaky and then the entire body of Rezko work could be seen in context?

I think it takes some of the credibility out of it for possible readers, especially since Bots are the only real comments right now dissing it.

I think you should add the Rezko link. IMO

  211. Idunn…no…it is the woman who comes on after Dennis Prager. I don’t know who she is, the radio is just “on” but she lead with it, and said they will be doing more investigating, but that they reprinted the Hammas “manifesto” and likened it to the Dec of Indy

  213. According to Rasmussen Reports, Hillary Clinton has a strong lead in West Virginia for the Democratic nomination for president.

The pollster shows Clinton with 55% support compared to 27% for her opponent Barack Obama. 18% of likely voters are undecided.

He clearly sees American in black & white (despite his recent attempts to include Latinos and Asians) in debate, sees the black experience as wholly defining the issue of race in America, and offers nothing new except empty rhetoric. I wasn’t impressed with him back then and I’m not impressed with him now.”

  219. Gerre Ferraro on FIRE!

Former vice presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro said today that she objected to the comparison Sen. Barack Obama drew between her and his former pastor in his speech on race relations Tuesday.

In the speech, Obama sought to place the inflammatory remarks of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright in a broader context, in part by placing them on a continuum with Ferraro’s recent remark to the Daily Breeze that Obama is “lucky” to be black.

“To equate what I said with what this racist bigot has said from the pulpit is unbelievable,” Ferraro said today. “He gave a very good speech on race relations, but he did not address the fact that this man is up there spewing hatred.”

    Records reveal ‘Co-President Hillary’
‘She was meeting with Cabinet level officials on a daily basis’

The thousands of pages of Hillary Clinton’s documents generated while the New York senator was first lady during husband Bill Clinton’s presidency reveal a sort of “Co-President Hillary,” according to the chief of Judicial Watch, the organization that filed a lawsuit to obtain their release.

About 11,000 pages of Mrs. Clinton’s daily schedules were released today by the National Archives and Records Administration, and Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton told Fox News a quick overview revealed some interested activities.

“It looks like she was co-president, involved with Cabinet-level meetings,” he told the network. “She was meeting with Cabinet-level officials on a daily basis.”

  225. Everyone: need your help, here. I recall someone writing last week that Rep. Jan Schakowsky represented the Obama campaign on the political news coverage when they the Ferraro flap broke – is that correct? Did she criticize Ferraro? Anyone got any film or links, etc.? I’ve searched and can’t find anything.

  226. Ok, Idunn. I’m a honkey. My lawn needs mowing and my dog needs washing….Get to it…. while I listen to ABBA and plan my cotillion at the club.

    I’ll get right on that.

    cracker bitch.

  227. I hate Lanny for opening his pie hole. Doesn’t he know Hill’s team has been extra careful not to go near Wright? Of course the media was just waiting to say, “Clinton team”.

  228. Actually, it’s because I’m daydreaming about my plan to steal Pat B. and Sean H. from you

Hold up…I never said a DAMNED thing about getting any thrills running ANYWHERE over Hannity! 😡

  229. Looks like Judicial Watch didn’t find anything in Hillary’s schedules.

    One could have predicted that.

  230. well… it was a very good speech about Race.

But a very bad speech, lets just say a lacking speech, about judgement. Specifically where was his vaunted judgement when he sat in that church for 20 years. Was he mad at grandma or something?

  231. Idunn, that’s yes, ma’am, Ms. Cracker Bitch to you.

And you wonder why we cant to kill all you cracker bitches. 🙄

  232. Idunn: oh, so sorry, when you called Sean “your bitch” I thought you meant that in the nicest way! 😉

  233. T4H, I sent it to Eric Alterman at Media Matters. He’s on Jewish/Israel issues pretty tight and I respect the hell out of him.

I also sent it to Drudge. teehee

  234. Idunn, you’d know how to kill all of us cracker bitches if you attended the right church. Ask 👿 for an invite this Easter Sunday. You’ll love the egg hunt.

  235. mj,

I like Lanny Davis. He didn’t do anything wrong. It’s the media who twisted things. Any person with a brain isn’t going to blame Hillary. Any person without a brain…oh well…who cares.

  237. Spacegirlart – your Typical White Person needs to have a picture of Granny …and a bus.

Since you’re an artist – you should make it, sell it through Cafe Press, and take the proceeds, donate to Hillary.

  238. Jan, Hillary has to walk on eggshells because of a bogus media. Lanny shoud STFU. or at least make it clear his comments are not about Clinton.

  239. Easter weekend is upon us and I bet the campaigns are going to take a welcome break for a couple of days 🙂

  240. “Change won’t come from the top, I would say. Change will come from a mobilized grass roots. That’s what I’ll do. I’ll organize black folks. At the grass roots. For change.”

  242. Ferrarro didn’t catually say he was lucky he was black. That’s a simplification of a more nuanced point she was making.

  243. “Now, young man, is that really what you want be about?” Obama demanded. “I mean, come on, don’t you want to be better than that? Let’s get yourself together.”

  245. Interesting stuff on Obama and his rise to power by a local Chicago writer.

“Emil Jones Jr., a gravel-voiced, dark-skinned African-American known for chain-smoking cigarettes on the Senate floor [became Illinois Senate majority leader]….He represented a district on the Chicago South Side not far from Obama’s. He became Obama’s kingmaker.

Several months before Obama announced his U.S. Senate bid, Jones called his old friend Cliff Kelley, a former Chicago alderman who now hosts the city’s most popular black call-in radio program….

“He said, ‘Cliff, I’m gonna make me a U.S. Senator.'”

“Oh, you are? Who might that be?”

    “Barack Obama.”

Jones appointed Obama sponsor of virtually every high-profile piece of legislation, angering many rank-and-file state legislators who had more seniority than Obama and had spent years championing the bills.

“I took all the beatings and insults and endured all the racist comments over the years from nasty Republican committee chairmen,” State Senator Rickey Hendon, the original sponsor of landmark racial profiling and videotaped confession legislation yanked away by Jones and given to Obama, complained to me at the time. “Barack didn’t have to endure any of it, yet, in the end, he got all the credit.

“I don’t consider it bill jacking,” Hendon told me. “But no one wants to carry the ball 99 yards all the way to the one-yard line, and then give it to the halfback who gets all the credit and the stats in the record book.”

During his seventh and final year in the state Senate, Obama’s stats soared. He sponsored a whopping 26 bills passed into law — including many he now cites in his presidential campaign when attacked as inexperienced.”

The whole piece is good. http://www.anchorrising.com/barnacles/005450.html

  246. good details, from that article posted by HillaryforTexas:

Obama has spent his entire political career trying to win the next step up. Every three years, he has aspired to a more powerful political position.

He was just 35 when in 1996 he won his first bid for political office. Even many of his staunchest supporters, such as [Timuel] Black [historian and City Colleges of Chicago professor emeritus who lived in Obama’s state Senate district], still resent the strong-arm tactics Obama employed to win his seat in the Illinois Legislature.

Obama hired fellow Harvard Law alum and election law expert Thomas Johnson to challenge the nominating petitions of four other candidates, including the popular incumbent, Alice Palmer, a liberal activist who had held the seat for several years, according to an April 2007 Chicago Tribune report.

Obama found enough flaws in the petition sheets — to appear on the ballot, candidates needed 757 signatures from registered voters living within the district — to knock off all the other Democratic contenders. He won the seat unopposed.

    “A close exam

  247. You would really think, that as the first serious biracial candidate for President, Obama wouldn’t stoop so low as to constantly invoke race in this election. Big Media’s complicity in all of this is just embarrassing, frankly. The guy gets a free pass at every turn.

  248. i have to go to work 🙁 but hopefully someone sending out that “typical white person” remark to talk radio, media in PA.

  249. LOL…some guy on the radio…Obama is a man who got caught, who got in trouble…now ALL THE REST OF US need to have a national dialogue on Race”

  250. Damn it Hillbilly, that article almost made me feel sorry for Gumby. Are you a troll? I think you are. Weasly, sympathy trolling, troll. 😡

So what, Jan? We know the media twists everything, shouldn’t Davis?
    ——————–

mj, the article is not that bad. At the bottom he says that it did not come from the campaign. Lanny Davis is allowed to have his opinion. The fault is Jake Tapper’ s with his title.

I left a post there to this effect: (you can too, you don’t have to register/login..)

Come on, Jake. In the interest of intellectual honesty and journalistic integrity and all that noble stuff, change the title. You know it is not the Team Clinton, you say so at the bottom, yourself. There is enough drama in this Democratic primary, we don’t need to sensationalize it a la the National Enquirer.

  252. Did that make you feel sorry for him?

To be real for a sec, yeah, it almost did. Maybe because I too am bi-racial and can understand what it’s like to try to find your identity in a group. But then I snapped out of it and realized that I pretty much worked that stuff out when I was 13, so what the fuck is Gumby’s problem?

  253. WTF… CNN keeps refering to INDIA as third world country.. hellow morons at CNN.. you need to just STFU… if you have same IQ as a PIN, CNN, you don’t support obama and welfare state… and call INDIA as third world country.. you f**king CNN morons

  254. Tell the truth Jithendra, you guys in India have to eat eggshells and pigeon droppings, don’t you? 😉

  255. You know, I know 👿 wants me. I’m a white woman and all. I mean, he’s a typical black man and I’m a typical white woman. We can make like his parents…

But I can’t do that. I can give him my nanna’s recipe though:

    Squirrel Stew

    ~ 3 squirrels, quartered
    ~ Tony Chachere’s Creole seasoning
~ 2 strips bacon, cut up
    ~ 1/2 stick butter
    ~ 1 onion, chopped
~ 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
    ~ 2 bell peppers, chopped
    ~ 2 stalks celery, chopped
    ~ 3 potatoes, cubed
    ~ 5 cups water
    ~ 1/4 cup burgundy wine

Rub the creole seasoning liberally over the squirrels.

In a dutch oven, melt the butter. Add the bacon.

Add the squirrel to the dutch oven and brown evenly. Remove.

To the dutch oven, add the onion, garlic, peppers and celery. Saute until the veggies are soft.

Add the meat back to the pot along with the water and potatoes. Stir together.

Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 1 1/2 hours stirring occasionally.

Remove the squirrel pieces. Cool and debone.

Return meat to the pot. Stir in the wine. Heat to boiling again then reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes.

    Serve over biscuits or toast.

    Enjoy.

  256. In all seriousness, WTF was the “typical” remark??? Was it supposed to make his grandmother feel better? All I can see is it pissed off white people like me.

    Dumbass fucktard dipshit…..

How can people vote for that crap?

  257. Ferraro said she had “no clue” why Obama would include her in his speech, and said Obama’s association with Wright raises serious questions about his judgment.

“What this man is doing is he is spewing that stuff out to young people, and to younger people than Obama, and putting it in their heads that it’s OK to say `Goddamn America’ and it’s OK to beat up on white people,” she said. “You don’t preach that from the pulpit.”

Ferraro also said she could not understand why Obama had called out his own white grandmother for using racial stereotypes that had made him cringe.

I originally thought that he did it because she’s dead but I checked and she’s still alive in Hawaii. That truly is throwing someone under the bus.

  258. Holy Hell, did Claire really say that????? Okay…that actually makes me feel sorry for Obama. She’s one of his key supporters and she’s like the crazy lady who says things like “You’re so clean and articulate, dear” and always has one eye on the door ready to bolt when they’re in the room together.

  259. SGA, squirrel stew in my house… It’s my favorite. If I win the latte Saturday, I’m gonna gets me some of this:

    Possum and Taters

    Ingredients:
    1 young, fat possum
    8 sweet potatoes
    2 tablespoons butter
    1 tablespoon sugar
    salt

Directions: First, catch a possum. This in itself is excellent entertainment on a moonlight night. Skin the possum and remove the head and feet. Be sure to wash it thoroughly. Freeze overnight either outside or in a refrigerator.
When ready to cook, peel the potatoes and boil them tender in lightly salted water along with the butter and sugar. At the same time, stew the possum tender in a tightly covered pan with a little water. Arrange the taters around the possum, strip with bacon, sprinkle with thyme or marjoram, or pepper, and brown in the oven. Baste often with the drippings.

  260. GOD Okie…did your grannie date Mike Huckabee?

I was just trying to decide what to have for dinner and the page reloaded with squirrel stew! ugh

  261. Dumbass fucktard dipshit…..

  262. She’s one of his key supporters and she’s like the crazy lady who says things like “You’re so clean and articulate, dear” and always has one eye on the door ready to bolt when they’re in the room together.

Hell, Bambi doesn’t care. He’d sell his dignity for a whole lot less than the Presidency, I’d wager.

  263. Idunn, I wouldn’t take that bet. The way he has acted, his dignity was sold off to the highest bidder a long time ago.

  264. my question is how can clinton win nomination…
i watched CNN now and they were telling it is very difficult for her to win nomination.. ofcourse they are not counting FL & MI

  265. In my humble opinion.

Barack Obama played this to the bone by elevating race in this election and unfortunately, FOX news is right, when they say people do not want to talk about it because anything said could be considered racist and people are afraid of the ramifications.

The contrast of the racial divide is quite evident if one were to visit various parts of our country. I have traveled to many and I understand clearly the anger that inner city and southern blacks feel. They have watched their world decay while others have benefited.

But why are we afraid and what are we afraid of? History plays a vivid role in this fear. In just the last 50 years, we have witnessed several events where the black community took to the streets in protest. Some may say these the riots were well founded, others may say they were extreme. In either case, it caused fear among many.

We have witnessed the destruction of businesses and homes, and violence against people, we have seen the National Guard called in and riot squads deployed. We have watched in perplexity, incomprehensible human behavior. We have seen the self-inflicted hatred in the black community unjustly transferred to other ethnic groups.

Whether they are engaged in celebration, or protest, we have “learned” to fear the black community. We have watched a people who were instrumental in building this nation from the ground up, now attempt to justify their right to tear it down.

Why are we afraid? Is it because not so far in the past, the black community had ignorant white politicians and law enforcement standing on their doorsteps and they have not forgotten? Or that the black youth have “bigger than life” film, music and sports role models that perpetuate violence or self hate? Or is it the ruthless developers and corporations that ignore their most basic of human needs?
    Is it the reckless statements of the self-serving, self-appointed leadership of the black community who continue to fuel that fear with agitations such as;
“will not let the white boys win in this election.” — Donna Brazile,
“The white man is our mortal enemy, and we cannot accept him. I will fight to see that vicious beast go down into the lake of fire prepared for him from the beginning, that he never rise again to give any innocent black man, woman or child the hell that he has delighted in pouring on us for 400 years.” — Louis Farrakhan
“The government lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color. The government lied.” –Reverend Jeremiah Wright Jr.?

We look at the fear and we look at our silence and ask; why are we afraid?

Did the black community choose the peaceful methods prescribed by the Rev. Martin Luther King or, did they let their anger turn to violence and destruction? Did they choose to become an active part of the solution or passively play a role in the problem? Have they utilized the tools available to make change or have they chosen to boil with rage about victimization. Has apathy been their poison, have they given up? Is it easier to point a finger? Is “everything” really the fault of the white man?

Racism is not unique to America; it has been and remains “one of” its greatest weak links. It is morally correct to have anger, and it is imperative we undo discrimination and oppression in all its manifestations against every person, whatever race or gender. Can we find a peaceful, respectful way to do this? I hope so.

One thing will remain with me when this election is all said and done, the one time where we had a chance to really make a difference, where we all could be proud, where we all could be hopeful and all be united, we let that all slip away. Is it easier to point a finger? I hope not.

  269. I am so discouraged at this moment.

So much fear over at Hillary’svoice about recommending the Wright, Obama, HAMAS diary. Because it comes from a conservative news source. Jeeeeeeze. MSNBC isn’t gonna publish it.

Fox has been the absolute best on the Wright story. someone said it here, I forget who, that they don’t have a horse in the Dem race and so they can be more objective. I know they hate hillary, but they have been appalled by this stuff on Obama.

I just don’t get it the reluctance. And I have to say if Hillary supporters are this
reluctant to just recommend the diary. Wow.

This is a fight! Ain’t nobody playing by Marquis of Queensbury rules.

But those fraidy kats at hillary’s voice balked. They won’t get on it until the story appears on druge or something. And it will. B. Merry gave me info.

  271. Linfar,

I don’t post very many places…lol…too cautious. Can you give me the link again?

  272. This typical white person remark by Obama is going to destroy his chances among white working class voters.

There is no way he can win the general election.

He is imploding right in front of us.

This is the first week he has faced any pressure on the presidential trail and he is self-destructing.

  273. Linfar…I posted a note to you farther up the thread. I think your diary was good, but I wondered why you did not reference RezkoWatch at all to put things into context, as WND CAN be seen as being not a great source. I think if you link to B Merry’s site, it will give more texture to the entire Obama/Wright/Rezko stuff, and maybe even lead others to look at stuff of which they were un-aware. Also, the tip came from her, she has been very supportive of us, and has done a lot of work. I think you should reference her site. IMO

  274. Space, okie,

Checked that sight and didn’t see Typical White person but did see “I am the white man who’s keeping you down.”

We can tweak that, Space. 🙂

  275. Linfar – I found the scan of the Hamas piece in Wright’s publication pretty credible. I think it will totally blow up. Once Drudge runs this it will be one Long Good Friday for the Candyman.

  276. Space, that other comment was for you. b Merry didn’t have the info up yet. So can’t reference it. I think she may have also wanted to keep this story separate from RezkoWatch. And yu can see why.

  277. Linfar, I understand, she had contacted me and others a good while before that broke. I just think you need to give her some credit by at least linking to Rezkowatch, that is all.

  278. Well, that is what B. Merry [and me too] are hoping. the idea was to get it out there, to get the story going like a virus on the internet. I’ve put it up on Taylor marsh too. With all the other links to the story in case Worldnet Daily makes people nervous.

  279. Linfar, I sent it to about 800 news outlets, linking directly to Rezkowatch. Do what you want, but it no one will link to her site from your MyDD site if her link is not there.

  280. Freakin Obama! I am so pissed he has drug this thing out now we can’t properly seat the delegates in Michigan. This guy is awfully stupid for someone that went to Harvard.

  281. Space, get off it for fuck’s sake.

You do not link to some other site in a story about something else.

Have you ever written a diary?

Jesus, Fucking H. Christ. What the hell is the matter with everybody today.

  282. OK gang…I am off to make some dinner (had no lunch) and take the dog out.

    I’ll probably be back later.

  283. Very interesting stuff here, perspective from Obama’s books, and links to other latte bloggers who seem to be smelling some coffee….

    h t t p : / / isteve.blogspot.com/2008/03/obama-throws-his-own-living-grannie.html

    I just posted there:
Interesting. Obama’s grandfather sounds full of white guilt himself — more interested in political correctness than in his wife’s safety. The grandmother said a panhandler kept demanding more and more money from her, till she felt threatened, so she wanted grandfather to drive her to work. Grandfather refused — because she had also told him the panhandler was Black!?!?!?! And he passes this attitude to the grandchild!
Maybe Wright reminds Obama of his grandfather.

  284. hi guys! phew…. just finished running errands… we decided to leave in the morning instead of this afternoon…

wow! i just saw how hillary called bambi out regarding the mi/fl votes!!! awesome!!! seems like its been a good day for our girl! theyre still talking abt wright and how bad bambi is doing in the polls… yippee!!!

p/s linfar… i rec’d your diary. did jon post it?

  285. God Linfar, what the heck is the big deal? Your response is really over the top. I was just saying what I thought. When you said that you and B Merryfield would hope that the story would get out there, and that people would link, AND that she sent the story to us to help her with, I though it would be a decent thing to give her some credit. It is clear you do not want to do that, but don’t take MY head off for it.

    Good Lord.

  286. The Obama people must be panicking if they want Hillary to “apologize” about NAFTA because she attended one meeting on it, lol. Whoop de do!

    BTW, here’s the FactHub response:

Once again the Obama campaign is demonstrating that Senator Obama’s words can’t be trusted. Last year, Senator Obama said that he would not engage in personal attacks. Now, after losses in Ohio and Texas, the Obama campaign is explicitly attacking Senator Clinton’s character. Instead of attacking Senator Clinton, Senator Obama should explain to the American people why his top economic policy advisor was telling the Canadians that his promise to fix NAFTA shouldn’t be taken seriously. The fact is that independent accounts make clear that Senator Clinton did not support NAFTA and that she is the candidate Americans can trust to fix it. —Campaign Spokesman Phil Singer

The Obama campaign is claiming that the fact that Hillary attended a meeting on the subject of NAFTA organized by David Gergen is proof that she was a champion of NAFTA.

Here’s what David Gergen said about Hillary’s views on NAFTA:

I was actually there in the Clinton White House during the NAFTA fight and I must tell you Hillary Clinton was extremely unenthusiastic about NAFTA. And I think that’s putting it mildly. I’m not sure she objected to all the provisions of it but she just didn’t see why her husband and that White House had to go and do that fight. She was very unhappy about it and wanted to move on to health care. So I do think there’s some justification for her camp saying, you know, she’s never been a great backer for NAFTA.” [David Gergen, Anderson Cooper 360, 2/25/08]

  287. Thanks diva.

Appreciate it. I just think keeping the Wright stink going is important. And here is a legitimate story to do it.

And they wouldn’t rec it at hillary’svoice so it will just sink and disappear. Pisses me off. I just hate people who think you can win a fight without fighting.

  288. I’ve emailed the ‘twp’ dealbreaker to Speaker Pelosi and Howard Dean. I’m sending it to as many superdelegates as I can.

How can she win the nomination? She wins the nomination on the second ballot at the convention.

  289. March 20th, 2008 at 4:33 pm
    Debbie

I agree with you. Also IMHO, BHO doesn’t actually care if his neighborhood is all crack houses or vacant lots with failing schools – but it’s his and his political boss’ neighborhood to control, to complain about. “Poverty pimps.” You only have to drive in and around BHO’s neighborhood to see it. Hypocrits, all.

Supporting Hillary hasn’t been for the faint of heart in many places. My hat’s off to all of you here for your courage and tenacity. But, someone weeks ago noted that the only real sadness of this election so far has been the separation from many of our AA brothers and sisters. Agreed. Thanks for that, Barry.

  290. Space,

Yup. The Patterson thing heating up, now. Evidently there were more than just a couple indiscretions and the husband of one of the women found out about HER involvement on TV and has been throwing trash cans at reporters and anyone else who comes with feet of his house.

Everyone’s speculating who’s gonna be NYS’s third governor this month. *LOL*

  291. And they wouldn’t rec it at hillary’svoice so it will just sink and disappear. Pisses me off. I just hate people who think you can win a fight without fighting.

I hear ya, Linfar. But don’t you think maybe your anger at them might have had alittle something to do with you jumping on Spacegirl? I mean, honestly, I didn’t get the impression she was being at all shitty with you, just making a suggestion. Maybe you’re bad day is spilling over alittle?

  292. ok.. here are some facts… in 2004 the voter turnout in PA is 789,882… can we assume that this year it would twice the number…

  293. Hello everyone… (repost from this morning…it did not post, I will post link after this)

this morning I did an email blast to fox, cnn, msnbc, WP, jake tapper, cbc news, and all the usual people, matthews, olberman, joe s, craig crawford, and more…

I would love if others would pick this up and keep pushing this…

sorry for the length of this…

this is the link to the MTP interview Tim Russert had with Barak Obama on 11-7-07 where Barak Obama says he did not keep any documents or schedules when he was in the Illinois State senate…

this is not believable…probably another Obama lie or distortion…

let’s get the press to hound him on his papers as he has hounded Hillary

    From Meet the Press:

MR. RUSSERT: And we’re back in Des Moines, Iowa, with Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Last night at the dinner you said we shouldn’t be-tell people what they want to hear, but what they should hear.

    SEN. OBAMA: Right.

MR. RUSSERT: You’ve been talking a lot about lobbyists and money in politics. This is The Boston Globe in August: in eight-“Obama’s eight years in the Illinois Senate, from 1996 to 2004, almost two-thirds of the money he raised for his campaigns came from” political action committees, “corporate contributions,” “unions, according to Illinois Board of Elections records. He tapped financial service firms, real estate developers, healthcare providers, oil companies, and many other corporate interests, the records show.” You now talk about, “Well, I’m not taking any money from lobbyists.” You do take money from state lobbyists. You took $1.5 million from federal lobbying-employees who work for federal lobbying firms. There seems to be a real inconsistency between the amount of money you raise and where it’s coming from, and your rhetoric.

SEN. OBAMA: Well, Tim, look, I, I have said repeatedly that money is the original sin in politics and I am not sinless. I have raised money in order to bankroll my campaigns. But what I have been consistent about is fighting to reduce the influence of money in politics at every level of government. I am the only candidate in this race who has really pushed hard to reduce the influence of lobbyists. When I was in the state legislature, I passed the first campaign ethics reform legislation in 25 years. When I was in the United States Senate working with Russ Feingold, we passed the toughest ethics reform since Watergate-eliminating meals, eliminating gifts, eliminating the use of corporate jets by congressmen when they’re given by lobbyists. So I’ve got this track record, and the way I’m conducting this campaign, I think, reflects that interest in reducing money in politics.

MR. RUSSERT: But it’s all new. You did it all this…

SEN. OBAMA: No, no, no, no, no. As I said, Tim, this interest, this support of public financing of campaigns, the support of changing the ethics rules, promoting robust disclosure when it comes to how campaigns are financed, those are all laws that I have written and I have passed. So my commitment extends beyond just not taking lobbyists’ money and taking PAC money. It’s absolutely true that, in the past, there have been times where I received lobbyist and PAC money. But the interest in reducing money in politics is one that has been consistent and that I have consistently fought against. And that, I think, is the kind of track record, of being willing to take on not only Republicans, but oftentimes taking on leaders in my own party who are resistant to change that I think gives me credibility to say when I am president I am actually going to take this seriously and use my political capital to deal with it.

MR. RUSSERT: But if you say you don’t take federal lobbyist but you take state lobbyist money…

    SEN. OBAMA: Well, Tim…

MR. RUSSERT: …or you take money from people who work for federal lobbying firms, or you take $2 million from people who work on Wall Street or hundreds of thousands of dollars from people who work in pharmaceutical companies, isn’t it just a word game?

SEN. OBAMA: Tim, I mean, this is the problem when you want to try to fix Washington is if you take certain steps to improve the process, then people will say, “Well, it’s not perfect.” Well, of course it’s not perfect. That’s the problem for running for president right now is you’ve got to raise millions of dollars in order to compete. We’ve got more small donors than every other candidate on the Democratic side combined. We have set out admittedly imperfect rules to try to reduce the influence of money in politics. But you are absolutely right. Most of the people that are writing $2300 checks are wealthy people, and that’s one of the problems with our political system. That’s something that I am intent on changing, and I’ve got a track record of actually bringing about change that I believe nobody else has.

MR. RUSSERT: You talked about Senator Clinton having records released from the Clinton Library regarding her experience as first lady, and yet when you were asked about, “What about eight years in the state senate of Illinois,” you said, “I don’t know.” Where, where are the-where are your records?

SEN. OBAMA: Tim, we did not keep those records. I…

    MR. RUSSERT: Are they gone?

SEN. OBAMA: Well, let’s be clear. In the state senate, every single piece of information, every document related to state government was kept by the state of Illinois and has been disclosed and is available and has been gone through with a fine-toothed comb by news outlets in Illinois. The, the stuff that I did not keep has to do with, for example, my schedule. I didn’t have a schedule. I was a state senator. I wasn’t intending to have the Barack Obama State Senate Library. I didn’t have 50 or 500 people to, to help me archive these issues. So…

MR. RUSSERT: But your meetings with lobbyists and so forth, there’s no record of that?

SEN. OBAMA: I did not have a scheduler, but, as I said, every document related to my interactions with government is available right now. And, as I said, news outlets have already looked at them.

MR. RUSSERT: Is your schedule available anywhere? Are-the records exist?

SEN. OBAMA: I-Tim, I kept my own schedule. I didn’t have a scheduler.

MR. RUSSERT: Senator Durbin, your colleague, publishes his schedule each day. Would you do that?

SEN. OBAMA: Well, you know, these days I have a public presidential schedule that I think everybody has access to.

MR. RUSSERT: Tony Rezko, who is he?

SEN. OBAMA: He is a developer in Illinois. He was a friend of mine for, for over 10 years. He was, he was a supporter of Democrats and Republicans back in Illinois. He was indicted recently for issues completely unrelated to me, but obviously it’s a source of concern because he’s not only a friend but also a supporter of my campaign.

MR. RUSSERT: It appears that he raised or contributed about $168,000 for you over the course of your career…(Obama just updated this to $250,000 on 3-14-08)

SEN. OBAMA: Over the course of my political career. Correct.

MR. RUSSERT: …and that he was always there to be very helpful to you at certain times. And when you bought property adjacent to each other, you bought land from him to expand your backyard.

    SEN. OBAMA: Correct.

MR. RUSSERT: This was all after he had been-it had been reported he was under federal investigation.

    SEN. OBAMA: Yeah.

MR. RUSSERT: Why were you associating with such a person?

SEN. OBAMA: The, the purchase of the land was after he-it was reported that he was under federal investigation. The support that he gave to my campaign prior to that, at that point any problems that came up had not surfaced. I’ve already acknowledged this was a mistake. Not only should I not have been involved in any business transaction with him, in particular, but with contributors generally. But keep in mind, Tim, that there was no evidence of wrongdoing. This was a above-the-board market-based transaction. Everybody who’s looked at has acknowledged as such. But there’s no doubt that it was a mistake on my part.

MR. RUSSERT: Is he still your friend?

No schedules or notes for a State Senator???? sounds like the Bush email purge to me…

I just have a big problem with his creditability and truthfulness…

    Hillary produced 11,000 pages, Obama????

  294. Hillary looks amazing today in her navy blue suit – much better (like 200%) than the yellow/black trim monstrosity! 😀

Live on CNN.com in Anderson, IN.

  295. wow! i just saw how hillary called bambi out regarding the mi/fl votes!!! awesome!!!

divabunny, I didn’t see that. What did she say? And where is HRC today?

  296. Look space, I tol you I am very upset and angry.

Instead of addressing that–maybe offering a little sympathy or the fact you went and recced the story–you scold me for not crediting REzko watch.

    .

And you go ona nd on and on about giveing credit where credit is due and I do that.

  297. Dumb question. I put the italics mark at the beginning and end of what I want to italicize, but my whole post gets italicized instead. Can anyone help?

  298. in 2000, the voter turn out is 704,150

one interesting thing i observer is… the winner was polled more than 70% both in 2000 & 2004..

can we expect the same this time as well

  299. much better (like 200%) than the yellow/black trim monstrosity!

Reed, you two faced fashionista! You said you LIKED that fugly jacket!

  300. Okay Linfar,

I took the plunge and registered. Yours is the first diary I recommended in my life and I think it is a great one to start out with. 🙂

  301. S, I saw that in the morning.

Today’s newscycle is going to be consumed by the ‘typical white eprson’ remark because it stirs up the issue of JWright and his sermons. FOX shows today are going play this up. It has beel all over on talk radio and right wing websites.

His Iraq ‘fair tale’ story is an important story but his latest remarks have more visceral reaction.

  302. Paula,

See one of posts earlier in which Obama referred to his Grandma as a ‘typical white person’ in reference to his remarks about her in his speech two days ago.

  303. @paula: here is the link for hrc calling out bho abt mi/fl: embeds.blogs.foxnews.com/2008/03/20/clinton-calls-obama-chicken-on-michigan-revote/

@idunn: why did you say that abt “if it is really my name”???

@s: great link you posted! i missed mtp this weekend!

  304. That’s true Idunn. I said it when I came on the board. I am angry.

And behind the anger are tears.

Because you have to be willing to fight.

Hillary will not win this nomination unless her supporters are willing to play hardball. And I am finding out that people I thought were willing to do that, aren’t. I guess–I am thinking–out loud here is it scares me. We are in a dogfight here. And Obama camp is playing dirty bigtime. I just can’t understand why those bloggers wouldn’t
recommend the story. I guess because it came from Worldnet Daily which is arch
conservative. But that didn’t make the story false. Oh shit. I’m just blathering.

  305. BTW, mj, I’m totally with you on your earlier post about Dems’ denial about Wright being a big factor in November. Talk about having your head in the sand … or up your ass, lol.

  306. (((Linfar))) It’s okay, Honey. I think we can all appreciate how you feel. It’ll get better. And I’m sure Spacegirl didn’t realize how upset you truly are. I don’t think she meant any harm at all. Take some deep breaths. Or hell, punch something…that always works for me. 🙂

  307. Mickey Kaus in Slate:

The Massachusetts senator said Obama has an ability to perhaps even empower moderate Islam “to be able to stand up against the racial misinterpretation of a legitimate religion.” Asked by a reporter what gave Obama the credibility to do so, Kerry said, “Because he’s African American. Because he’s a black man, who has come from a place of oppression and repression through the years in our own country. [E.A.]

I don’t think Kerry’s argument is crazy at all. I just don’t think the Obama campaign can then sneer at Geraldine Ferraro for saying the same thing–i.e., that Obama is where he is because voters are “caught up” in the Kerry argument. Obama’s camp can’t have it both ways–arguing we should vote for him “[b]ecause he’s a black man” and then arguing it’s racist to say being black has helped his candidacy. … 1:51 P.M. link

    http://www.slate.com/id/2186845/

  308. love this guy…erik rush… just on obama… an AA columnist that is obama’s nemesis!!!www.newmediajournal.us/staff/rush/2008/03182008.htm

bambi is hating life today… ferraro speaking out abt him including her name in his speech!

AND new polls show that hrc can beat mccain, but bambi cant!!!

  309. Oh, Jan H, you are the best! Truly. And that’s support. thanks.

I know each of us is supporting Hillary the best we know how. I have never posted so much in my life. I have had to enter a whole new world–blogging. And it has all these wierd and crazy rules. Which I have had to struggle to understand and master. And then something like this comes along. And I think. Who are these people? Is this a game to them? they won’t recommend it because it comes from a conservative source. Ahaaaaaayeee!!!

  310. @divbunny.. leave out the polls.. what happens to MI & FL… this is ridiculous to not seat delegates from FL & MI… ridiculous not revote in case they don’t agree with earlier results…

  311. Linfar,

You are putting up a heck of a fight for HRC and that’s really all anyone can do.

i completely understand about the anger behind the tears. What’s happening to HRC is so WRONG. But, you know what, she’s gonna be fine. It’s the rest of the country I’m worried about. 🙁

  312. Idunn, see now you made me cry.

And all the anger goes poof.

Maybe I just should have said I need a hug. Those baddies out there are beating up on me. And they were–every obamabot on that site got on the diary and ripped it a new one. LOL

If I am not here when Sapce comes back, please tell her I’m sorry. OK?

  313. @jit…. i dk whats going to happen… they arent saying. imo, i think they should seat fl as it stands. both names were on the ballot and hc kicked his ass… michigan is the problem bc he took his name off the ballot… they just reported that two sens (rendell & ???) have each offered to pay 12m each to pay for a revote… so far hrc, dean and the dnc have agreed, but bambi wont agree to it!

  314. Maybe I just should have said I need a hug.

Woulda been a hell of alot easier, no? 🙂

If I am not here when Sapce comes back, please tell her I’m sorry. OK?

Yep. She’ll understand. Lord knows, she’s bitchy when she’s upset too. 🙄

  315. basil9,

That is so accurate. We are getting clobbered by the press and it is so Wrong. They are so biased and aweful. And as an ex news reporter it just wigs me out. I have never seen such bias in the press, except maybe against Gore in 2000. That is why this site is so important. We have to have a home base. A place where we can come and lick our wounds, and get ready to go back out there.

  316. every obamabot on that site got on the diary and ripped it a new one.

Musta been a damned good diary! LOL! Well done. 🙂

  317. S: thanks for posting. It’s amazing how stuff comes into focus over time. Vetting. Look into it, BM.

    * * * * * * * * *
MR. RUSSERT: Is your schedule available anywhere? Are-the records exist?
SEN. OBAMA: I-Tim, I kept my own schedule. I didn’t have a scheduler.
    * * * * * * * * *
I thought he couldn’t keep track of his papers and needed people to do that? Surely this guy has a secretary and a computer with “Outlook” on it. And, most IL senators that I know do have a staff of one or two people and one of them serves as a scheduler — committee meetings, public events, official personal meetings, fundraisers, juggling personal commitments, etc. Easy to check.

  318. Linfar,

I think the Obamabots are scared and fighting as dirty as they can to keep their idol on his pedestal. They justify anything he does no matter how crazy it sounds to the rest of us. You can’t reason with some of them so I wouldn’t even try.

  319. S,

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to get one of his ex-staffers from that time to spill the beans…sigh…

Of course they probably had to sign their lives away just to be in his presence.

  320. TPS,

    B. Merry sent a headsup earlier about an important story she wanted to break about Wright and HAMAS and Obama. And I agreed to do a diary on mydd. So the info came and I rushed to get the diary up. Then I flew out to take my Mom to the Sr. Center. Then I flew home and first the Obamabots ripped it because of the source which was WorldNet Daily–arch conservative.

And the the Hillary people wouldn’t recommend it because of the source. And the story is TRUE. There is no question. So one commenter sent some other sources and I put those links in and they still wouldn’t rec it. And I got upset. For all the reasons
    that’s been said here.
But basil9 was so accurate. It is so wrong what is happening to Hillary and so when
there is a chance to right it–even a little–it just hurts so much when you can’t get it
    to happen.

  321. Wish Weezer Bodreaux (Shirley Maclain in Steel Magnolias) was here right now. I’d grab the shit out of her and tell Linfar to “Knock her lights out!” 😉

  322. Can someone give me olbermanns email. I want to send him the kerry video! Maybe he can chew on him like he did on Hillary for 9 min straight! That man makes me soooo sick! He brings on Obama to ask him questions.

  323. Staff members… hmmmmm.

As I said, I’m having people over who are mostly Obamabots, so there will be much gritting of teeth on my part. They will feel the warm, Hillary love. After this is all over, I hope to still have some friends in Chicagoland.

  324. Kerry’s argument discounts the fact that extremism and oppressing women go hand in hand. I would counter his argument and say they would be no greater sybmol of tolarance than ending the patriarchy and electing a woman leader of the free world. Anyone have Kraus’s email?

  325. Linfar, don’t worry about those wussies over there…we know how to fight over here and we are aggressively searching for every tiny chink in Obiwan’s teflon to poke at until his armour falls off entirely and he’s standing in his underwear.

    Ewww.

  326. Idunn, ROFL–:)

You re too much. I would have loved to knock Wheezer’s light outs–a few ago. Now I am laughing. And crying. And feeling better. And ready for the next story. I don’t know what else to do. Do you?

Hillary has gotta win this thing. She just has to.

  327. rjk1947 – were you able to play that tape of Schakowsky/Obama on c-span? It won’t play for me.

  328. WOW!
Huge uproar in Philly right now over the Obama comment. Howard Eskin on 610 radio (where Obama first made the comment) is ripping into Obama for it like I’ve never seen. Howard’s show is pretty much the highest rated Radio show in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. When he says something 1,000s of people hear it ( I personally do not like him, but its because his views on the Philadelphia Eagles) If you want to hear this go to http://www.610wip.com and listen live.

    – Obama supporters are calling in trying to spin the “typical white person” comment as Obama opening the race conversation what a joke.

  329. linfar (hugs)

I know how you feel. I’m going through a full range of emotions these days.

I think the upcoming states are VERY important for POPULAR VOTE.

Bambi is registering people in PA, left and right .. can up till 3/25….in hopes to daunt Hillary’s runup.

Please phonebank into all states and let Hillary supporters know that the GOTV NOW is the most important time in HISTORY. They need to know.

  330. Divabunny: I think that the Russert interview (11/7/07) was probably before the debate (2008?) where BHO told us of “his greatest weakness” – disorganization. So, I don’t think that you or Timmeh missed anything. But, it’s fun to put together the puzzle pieces over time….

  331. i’m watching fox… theyre saying that obama is doing a “media blitz” to help fix the race issue and get back on message… theyre saying that they dont think it will work.

but i also had a thought…. he is starting this blitz over the next few days… its EASTER WEEKEND/SPING BREAK… the majority of the population is going to be celebrating the holiday or going on vacation or going to spring beak… esp his suppoters… the richie rich latte liberals and the college kids… they are going to miss his blitz and they are going to go away with the wright topic in the front of their minds when it comes to obama!

he just keeps diggin that grave… “typical white person”??? typical white people are afraid of black people??? for real? this is really what this guy thinks??? what planet is he living on??? who says that???

  332. dot,

thanks agian for reccing the diary.

Do you have numbers on how many Obama has registered in Pa?

  333. dot48: Iam with you on that, who would have thought that FOX is the only MSM I watch (Iam back to watching MSM after about 6 weeks). I think FOX has more stink on BO, it is always good to drop that fart on Friday afternoon and let it fester over the weekend!!! 🙂 Let’s see what tomorrow brings!

  334. Yeah, I will remember

    GODDAMN AMERICA

and that freakshow devil everytime I look at a pulpit.

I remembered it on Sunday while attending my services and I am so thankful I have a pastor who preaches LOVE for other Americans rather than HATE the other man.

Yes, EXCELLENT time for people to have this HATE on their minds…the Crucifixation of Christ and his Resurection.. time to think about the ultimate sacrifice and what LOVE will create.

    Yes.. we will remember.

  335. I’m listening to the Philly radio now – a caller critical of BHO’s “typical white person” comment just said, “Let’s just call a spade a spade – we shouldn’t be making these decisions based on race.” LMAO! Listen in….. http://www.610wip.com

  336. Obama supporters are calling in trying to spin the “typical white person” comment as Obama opening the race conversation what a joke.

Well, I know that I always feel free to discuss my concerns about race when someone starts the conversation by saying, “Welcome, Nigger.” 🙄

  337. BO going on a “Media Blitz” to try and put the Wright thing behind him and distract everyone with smoke and mirrors and shouts of “Yes We Can.” Bet he’s already hired the fainters and they’re rehearsing furiously in front of full-length mirrors timing their fall sto Jeremiah Wright tapes.

    :twisted:i

  338. I’m at work and not glued to see what Fox is dredging up next, but I hope they play that “typical white person” BO comment over and over and over, like they did with Rev. Wright. Remember, it took nearly 48 hours for the rest of the media to catch up – mostly because CNN and the “most biased team on television” have to figure out how they’re going to spin it, or whether all of their “in the BO tank” commentators will probably walk out on them. Jeesh.

Plus, the Hamas stuff – Jewish orgs have to lean on the media to do anything.

  339. “Let’s just call a spade a spade – we shouldn’t be making these decisions based on race.”

    CODE SPEAK! CODE SPEAK!

  340. Yes, as we remember the supreme sacrifice this weekend …..what an excellent time for America to have Jeremiah Wright and his HATE on our minds.

  341. oh man,
New theory floated by Zogby and rasmussen who finally got the polls RIGHT today is that Gore will come into save the party, BO will be VP and HRC will be top person in the Senate.

Bet Brazille would LOVE that. 👿

  342. by the time this is over BO won’t be dogcatcher.

Al Gore wouldn’t touch That! Unlike Matthews and Cooper

  343. Idunn, I am laughing out loud. You are the funniest creature on the internet.

Damn straight. My show was funny too, but then I got fed up and had to take that side trip to Africa. Comedy central wasn’t amused. But I’m still rich, bitch! 🙂

  344. I popped out and went over to mydd.

16 people have recced the HAMAS/Wright diary now.

I think it takes about 18-20 to get it recommended.

You know the LA Times published the same Hamas manifesto and they were crucified [pardon the pun] for it.

Teh truth is we do not know what Obama would do as President abourt Israel or teh Palistinians. Hell, I don’t even know what he would do about the Supreme Court.

  345. This person is an Obama supporter…you might want to leave your comments:

    blog.beliefnet.com/godspolitics/2008/03/healing-the-wounds-of-race-by.html#comments

  346. Obama is making this about race. He and he alone.

Listen up all AA’s .. if you don’t vote for Obama you are fcuking traitors.

  347. basil9 – zogby is a propaganda tool for BO. I heard that rumor too, and I’m sure it’s just to placate those ass-kissing Kossocks – as if the alleged party elders “Carter, Pelosi, Gore, Edwards, etc” (who died and make them king?) would completely bypass the electorate, the delegates, the superdelegates. My guess – complete BS. Don’t buy into it.

  348. Jas,

(You know I flicked by.) He’s showing clips of the Dancing with Ellen video and she’s doing a play-by-play of how he knocked her to the floor and pointing out exactly where he strategeically grabbed her before the tackle.

  349. Ininla,

Speaking of Edwards. What a sorry ass excuse for someone who could bring some leverage to bear. Talk about a wuss.

  350. listen if Al wanted to be President he would have got in the race.

We don’t need a saviour, he’s already been strapped to the cross. What we do need is a fair election with the voters from Florida and Michigan counted as part of the DAMNED USA.

Why don’t the voters in FLA and MI organize a march on the party.

  351. innila,

i don’t believe ANYTHING these a$$wipes say but feel like it’s my duty to give ammo to the troops here so everyone’s armed in case of ambush.

  352. It has become apparent how much more political courage Hillary has than the rest of those goons called “elders”. They are gutless. Just goes to show that because you are older you are not necessarily wiser.

  353. sorry if this was already discussed, i just got home from work, and they are saying rush limbaughs listeners might be in trouble with the law, cause he told repugs to cross party lines and vote for hillary…
we need to make fox know that obamas people did it way early in other states..

  354. What are they saying on Philly Radio? Oh boy, he was on sports radio this morning apparently to appeal to white working class voters! This should help a lot, reaaly.

  355. edwards is an idiot officially

People from 3rd world countries are not allowed to call our polticians idiots. We’ll take care of that, you just go eat your eggshells and pigeon droppings. 😉

  356. They have no proof those voters were not going to vote for Hill anyway. How many repubs you think are going to vote for this guy now?

  357. linfar, I need to clear something up here. I read your comments upthread. The link that I sent to you and others was for the RW page, not the original article.

The intention of including you in the email was so that you might help to email out the link to media, etc.

There was never any suggestion that the link or the material should be quoted as a diary elsewhere on the internet.

On your MyDD diary, you have posted nearly the whole of Klein’s WND article, which I am certain is a copyright infringement. You need to check on that as well as go to your diary and edit back the amount of material that you quote.

  358. sorry if this was already discussed, i just got home from work, and they are saying rush limbaughs listeners might be in trouble with the law, cause he told repugs to cross party lines and vote for hillary…

How the hell can they get in trouble for that?! We still live in America, don’t we? It’s still a free country, isn’t it?

  359. It’s called soliticing votes perhaps? I’m sure Rush is friggin quakin in his boots and chewing his cigar. Somebody send him a copy of Obama’s Democrat for a Day.

  360. Well then Bambi’s ass should be sitting in jail, sahring underwear with Rush then.

Someone send him that Obamacrat for a day stuff…help poor old Rush out. He’s been a good bitch. 🙂

  361. skm,

I have been sending letters about BO’s “Democrat for a Day’ tactic for weeks!

Here’s one I sent to Tweetie and Schlumpface yesterday.

    Dear Mr. Mathewsr,

On today’s edition of Hardball you lamented that Rush Limbaugh has been urging Republicans to cross party lines and vote for Senator Clinton in primaries as a way to ‘rig’ the vote and bemoaned the fact that this is tantamount to the Republicans choosing the Democratic nominee.

You did not, however, mention that Senator Obama has used the very same tactic for the past three months, encouraging Republicans to become “Democrat for a Day” and vote for him as a way to deny Senator Clinton the nomination.

I have contacted you several times about your lapse in accurately reporting the story.

Here is a portion of my email to you providing links to Senator Obama’s decidedly Rovian tactics.

I would hope that since you are so appalled by Mr. Limbaugh encouraging this behavior, you will be equally disturbed by Senator Obama doing the same thing against a fellow Democrat.

Perhaps you are not aware of the Mr. Obama’s nasty strategy for attacking a fellow democrat and its similarities to the Karl Rove attack machine of the 2000 and 2004 presidential races. Mr. Obama has not only falsely portrayed Senator Clinton’s positions on NAFTA, the Iraq War and Universal health coverage, he has also launched a campaign to convince Republicans and independents to cast their vote in the primaries and caucuses for him as a way to defeat Senator Clinton.

As a result, approximately 9% of his voters have come from factions that will invariably abandon him to vote for Senator McCain in the General Election.

This reprehensible strategy, called “Democrat for a Day,” urges non-democrats to switch parties during the primaries, a tactic that smacks of Voter fraud and disenfranchisement. The skewed results are clearly not representative of the will of real democrats with whom Senator Clinton maintains a solid lead.

Here are links to the materials I cite.
    WANNA BECOME AN OBAMACRAT?!!!
    By Obama Florida 2008
    Published: April 24, 2007
    ….
That’s why “Democrat for a Day” was launched this spring by ObamaFlorida2008. Using the official forms provided by all Supervisors of Elections offices, you may re-register as a Democrat for that one day — when the primary is likely to be held — on February 5, 2008. You must do so before the end of 2007, to make sure it is done 30 days before the primary.
But this is not about some “hard sell” to recruit voters to become permanent Democrats. Not at all. After the primary, you may re-register back to the
Republican or Libertarian parties, or revert to your previous status as an Independent! There will be plenty of time before the general election in November 2008.
    ….
But we’re finding that up to 20 percent of Obama supporters are registered Republicans.
In fact, during the first couple of weeks in April, some 150 Republicans indeed became “Democrats for a Day.” You might call them “Obamacrats!”
A similar flyer was distributed in Nevada by an Obama precinct captain and there is another circulating in Texas.

    WOW, WOW, WOW.

THE CASHIONISTAS ALL OVER THE INTERNET ARE MAKING HILLARY’S AD BUYS A REALITY.

Thank you to everyone. You know back in January, her campaign had no idea the grassroots support behind this woman as far as online fundraising!

    WE GOT HER BACK

  363. I love how Obama tries to sweep everything under the rug by basically saying, “aw, come on, we all have church leaders who make crazy racist statements.” Um, NO. I do NOT have a church leader who runs around shrieking, “God damn America” and yelling that Hillary Clinton has never been called a “N***ER” on Christmas morning, at a family church service. This shows how out-of-touch with reality (and regular churches) Obama really is.

  364. Now that there is such a flap over the Democrats for a Day, doesn’t make that Obama’s argument against a revote in Michigan because Independents and Republicans can’t vote seem ridiculous?

  365. Idunn,

I sent the original letter to Rush and actually have resent it a half dozen times but maybe you’re right. i’ll try once more.

  366. thanks basil,

i’m assuming you sent info to fox, who apparently is our only friend…
everything they blame us for they did…
did you send that info to rush?

    he can pass the word…

  367. I’d change the letter wording, Basil…just say, here Rush…got some bullets for you to put in your gun if you have to, you know, defend yourself. 😉

  368. can someone tell me how soliciting votes is against the law? rush did offer them money or another favor for their vote. how is what he did any different than oprah stumping in sc?

  369. Anyone can tell ANYONE how to vote, for crying out loud. I don’t get how that’s illegal either. But, won’t hurt to send the info anyway.

  370. Howard Dean is a hyperactive little dictator. He’s disenfranchised MI and FL Democrats purely because they didn’t follow his pointless edicts and organizational plans. This shows how arrogant he is: in his deranged mind, HIS OWN plans for the Democratic primary are MORE IMPORTANT than the actual votes of Michigan and Florida Democrats.

If he doesn’t fix this, we’re going to get a tainted nominee who hasn’t won a real Democratic primary.

  371. Exactly, divabunny. Also, the owner of the Daily Kos website did the same thing, telling Democrats to vote for Romney in the Michigan primary.

  372. i’m not saying NOT to send the letter. i think thats a great idea. i’m just asking wtf is wrong with rush did??? its only against the law if you offer something in return for the vote.

  373. Howard Dean is a hyperactive little dictator.

HE’S GONNA GO ON TO MICHIGAN! AND THEN NEW YORK! AND NEW JERSEY! AND THEN HE’S GONNA FUCK UP THE DNC! YAH!!!!!!!!

  374. Murtha! That’s the endorsement that matters, IMO.

Tell everybody Murtha endorsed Hillary. I told a friend of mine, a good Dem, about it today — she’d never heard of it — and she was impressed. Murtha has so much credibility with Dems.

I think his endorsement got lost in the worshipfulness about BO’s speech.

  375. diva: it is only against the law, because he was encouraging people to vote for Hillary.

Berkeley: sweeping everything under the rug, and being so dismissive of criticism are qualities of BO, that I abhor. It is an example of sheer ignorance.

  376. InformedinIllinois…yes…his whole explanation for having no notes strains believability…

I would like to reinforce this with Katie Couric for the upcoming debate and all the other people connected to the upcoming debates…and in addition…just keep pushing it to news and tv people since it should be topical since Hillary just released 11,000 documents that Obama demanded…(i do not have an email for her???)

ok…so now it is his turn…and he keeps getting caught in ‘lies’ and/or distortions…this is something to put his creditability in focus…just keep putting him on the spot…today i heard him bragging about how cool he is under pressure…

I like that he is being singled out and it is becoming clearer that Obama is the one stopping the revotes in Fl & Mi and he looks afraid of the voters so he is surpressing the votes…

another positive thing is that the idea of obama’s campaign collapsing and that the SD’s are watching this and taking it into consideration is starting to get a lot of play on TV and in print…

…so this is becoming a possibility that everyone is recognizing and starting to think about…like watching the finals after the playoffs…doubts…doubts…doubts…are beginning to take hold…

this is all good for Hill’s momentum…especially when his strongest supporters are confronted with this collapse/SD possibility on tv and they really have no response…

  377. @bird: i know he told ppl to vote for hillary. oprah told ppl to vote for obama. i dont see what the difference is?

  378. right… then why is rush being threatened with breaking the law? what did he do that was illegal? i dont get it.

  379. obama says he found new information that clinton flip flopped on nafta…

so that means he’s talking about the women at the white house who said she said to vote for it…

  380. B. Merryfield,

I thought you wanted the original article from WorldNet Daily out there.

Many other links have now been added to the story at mydd–

So there is no copyright infringement possibility.

I did not understand you wanted the story to come from rezkowatch.

    duh, on me.

    So I be corrected.

  381. IT WAS ON FOX NEWS, THEY SAID THAT THE OHIO LEGISLATURE WANTS TO CHARGE PEOPLE WITH DEFRAUDING THE ELECTION PROCESS, OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT…

  382. Who heard WHAT, WHEN and WHERE about Rush being threatened with breaking the law??????

if that’s true, I’ve got a TON of back-up to send him.

  383. obama says he found new information that clinton flip flopped on nafta…

So, I take it that’s all Gumby can find? LOL…big fucking deal.

    ::cough:: GOOLSBEE ::cough::

  385. I think folks are wise to Obomba’s diversionary tactics now and frankly they are not ready to change the subject. We don’t know Obomba as a country and the MSM screwed alot of voters by not vetting him sooner. I think the tendency will be not to pay much attention to the spin until people have figured out what the real deal is with this guy.

  386. THEY SAID THAT THE OHIO LEGISLATURE WANTS TO CHARGE PEOPLE WITH DEFRAUDING THE ELECTION PROCESS, OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT…

Heh…yeah well, good luck with THAT. 🙄

Clinton PA Campaign Kicks Off March Madness: ‘Final Four’ Days Of Voter Registration
Hillary Supporters, “Ugly Betty” Actress America Ferrera, “Rock the Vote” Leader Jehmu Greene to participate in registration drives, statewide canvasses, and phone banks to encourage voter registration before March 24 deadline
Philadelphia, PA – The Clinton campaign today announced March Madness: The “Final Four” Days of Voter Registration, an effort to encourage Pennsylvanians to register to vote in the Democratic primary. In the countdown to the state’s March 24th registration deadline, Pennsylvanians for Hillary will hold voter registration drives and rallies with key surrogates, statewide canvass kick-offs, volunteer visibilities, and phone banks on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Monday. Due to the Easter holiday, campaign activity will be limited and offices will be closed on Sunday, March 23.

“Pennsylvania voters want a candidate who is ready to lead on Day One and get this country back on track,” offered Pennsylvanians for Hillary State Director Mary Isenhour. “Hillary Clinton is the leader with the experience and the record of accomplishment to make sure Pennsylvania’s voices are heard again.”

During March Madness: The “Final Four” Days of Voter Registration, Pennsylvanians for Hillary will knock on thousands of doors, hold dozens of events, and reach thousands of people throughout the state. This final drive to register voters will reach cities across the Keystone State, from Philadelphia to State College to Scranton to Pittsburgh to Erie, and cities in between.

On Saturday, “Ugly Betty” actress America Ferrera and the first African American “Rock the Vote” President Jehmu Greene will participate in voter registration and youth outreach events. Details of their events are forthcoming.

Members of the Media: For more information on local voter registration events near you, please email papress@hillaryclinton.com

  388. SORRY I AM GOING BETWEEN MSNBC AND FOX AND CNN.
    DAVID GREGORY,
SAYS HILLARYS HOPES OF A REVOTE IN MICHIGAN ARE OVER, BUT DONT GIVE UP FOR HER CHANCES YET…
    COMMERCIAL ON
AND THEN HE WILL DISCUSS ON MSN…

  389. how can he dare bring up nafta after canada-gate???

i’m pretty sure he’s referring info that came from her schedule… i think gergen reported that hrc was never really supportive of nafta when bill was prez… some pundit said that there was s/thing in her sched that implied that she was in favor of nafta. big friggin deal! i would imagine everyone will see through this.

  390. Well, I’ve always considered myself to be a “typical white woman.” This comments offends me on so many levels. I just want to go and wash his mouth out with soap!

  391. BerkleyVox…you would think that Obama would have the descency to apologize to Hillary Clinton for Wright’s remarks…but no…he just keeps up with his arrogant self…

as in…”she and her husband don’t like to lose”…yeah, as if anyone likes to lose…including him as he manipulates and suppresses the votes in Fl and Mi…

I just saw a clip from Michigan and a big group of people that already had their signs and were chanting “Count our Votes” they are looking ready for a fight…

I just got this image from a past election where someone in a costume (Chicken??) used to follow around one of the candidates and kind of harass them…i cannot remember the details now…

but we should get some people that represent Florida and Michigan to shadow BO’s campaign and make a ruckus with signs and chants to “Count the Votes”

…this would not only embarrass him…but also maybe get some media attention and let the DNC get a little taste of what will be snowballing to the Dem Convention in August…

  392. DAVID SAYS:

DEFEAT OBAMA IN PA BY WIDE MARGIN
    LEAD IN TOTAL POPULAR VOTE
SOMETHING TO SHAKE SUPER DELEGATE CONFIDENCE IN OBAMA
WIN SOME OF HIS STATES HE IS PROJECTED TO WIN

  393. This Nafta stuff is just plain silly. Nothing beats his people going behind the scenes and telling the Canadians not to believe anything hardball that he says.

How many lies does this make now?

  394. Very good to see TeamHillary in Pennsyslvania grabbing the kingsshare of effort for new registration.

    ROCK THE VOTE PENNSYLVANIA

  395. here’s an article i found abt the rush thing…

    fundamental-truths.blogspot.com/2008/03/rush-limbaugh-encourages-voter-fraud.html

they still cant do anything to rush. they state of ohio would have to do the research for each voter’s voting history and then charge them. riiiight! thats gonna happen!

  396. MessiahNews perhaps getting over their “mancrush” on him a bit? Gregory sounds almost, may I say, “hopeful”…..

If this hasn’t shaken the superdelegates…somebody who sets in church for 20 years and absorbs HATE AMERICA and DOWN WITH THE WHITE PEOPLE

Whats it going to take a nuclear bomb.

I’m going to say this now..if he were not BLACK, this would have already taken him out.

  397. PLEASE VOTE on Larry King’s page where BO will be appearing tonight. King is going to reveal who people voted will be the candidate tonight from this poll. Hill is close:

    cnn.com/CNN/Programs/larry.king.live/

Another note: can I say, how much I love America Ferrara – she was in TX, now in PA – can they get Eva Longoria to register voters at a Philadelphia 76ers game or something. She’d be a big hit! (alright, i have no idea whether the basketball season is on or not).

  398. All you folks interested in Obama’s community organizing past NEED TO READ THIS:

    http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/Articles/bobamasunlikelypoliticaledu.html

    ——-

    well

After many lectures like this, Obama decided to take a second look at Wright’s church. Older pastors warned him that Trinity was for “Buppies”–black urban professionals–and didn’t have enough street cred. But Wright was a former Muslim and black nationalist who had studied at Howard and Chicago , and Trinity’s guiding principles–what the church calls the “Black Value System”–included a “Disavowal of the Pursuit of Middleclassness.'”

  399. Obama is a LIAR and he will say and do anything, including “losing his religion” to win the White House. Since he is the party elite choice then we have to WORK, WORK and WORK HARDER and DON’T expect anything given to us.

From Now on any good poll, leads, whatever is a blessing.

  400. I’ve talked to literally DOZENS of people this week…everybody is outraged by his ass parked in the pew.

People who thought they might think he was “diffeerent” .. now they see the real person and he’s the MONSTER.

  401. If you email Rush, put something in the subject line short and pithy that will catch attention. I’m sure these people get TONS of email.

I just mailed, and my subject line said “DKos and Obama told R’s to crossover vote too” Mine said:

    Dear Rush,

I heard abut your problems with being threatened with legal action regarding your encouraging Rebublicans to cross over and vote for Hillary.

Markos of DailyKos did the same, in Michigan. He did a whole blog post trying to get Democrats to cross over and vote for Romney. Obama has been doing it for MONTHS – his campaign even runs ads and distributes “Be a Democrat for a Day, then switch back!” flyers in primary states.

I think it’s wrong, myself, but dammit if it’s not fair for you it’s not fair for anyone. No reason you should get crucified for it while Kos and Obama get a pass.

  402. DAVID SAYS
IF AN AMERICAN MINISTER SAYS INFLAMATORY RHETORIC ABOUT AA, AND CALLED THEM THE N—– WORD, WE WOULD BE APPALLED AND CALLED FOR THEM TO BACK OUT…
SHOULDNT OBAMA BE FORCED THEN TO BE HELD TO THE SAME STANDARD AND TOTALLY DENOUNCE HIS MINISTER?

DAVID NOW ABOUT TO TALK ABOUT THROWING GRANDMA UNDERBUS…
YEAH! DAVID DOING A LITTLE ‘TOUGH’ LOVE…
HOPE HE IS A LITTLE MORE FAIR…
REMEMBER HE WAS FRIENDS WITH IMUS, SO HE PROBABLY HATES BARACK RIGHT NOW…

  404. B. Merry, SpaceArt, and whoever else I need to apologize too for getting it all wong today,

    I apologize.

I am going to go out and smell the roses. And take a deep breath.

But, that said, it was still aweful that no matter where the info came from the hillarysvoice people wouldn’t rec it.

  408. anyone else know the “freecreditreport” dotcom songs by heart???

just more proof that i watch waaaaaaay too much msnbc! i think my husband even knows it….

  409. Must run but this seems important about Obama’s attitudes to his white grandmother etc — look at his white GRANDFATHER’s attitude (super liberal guilt). And an early mentor who may have been a pre-cursor to Wright.

At Taylormarsh.com in the comment string from 03.20.2008 – 2:00 pm to 03.20.2008 – 6:05 pm , there were some very good links posted, one of which led to some Blogspot blog with a long quote from Obama’s DREAMS about his GRANDFATHER refusing to give his grandmother a ride so she could avoid a threatening panhandler/mugger — BECAUSE she had told him the panhandler was Black. Obama (a teenager at the time) was not present at the beginning of the quarrel, so the grandfather TOLD the boy about her remark and condemned her.

Then, according to DREAMS, Obama went for counsel to a communist friend, who said that her fears were justified, a Black panhandler/mugger WAS more likely to be dangerous (in this particualr culture) than a white one, because of … well, the same sort of feelings that Wright expresses. Well, that’s a hasty summary, but hunt up the passage and see if it doesn’t match the “just a typical white person” concept.

So here is perhaps a source for Obama’s skill in manipulating white liberal guilt (his grandfather sounds like an extreme case) — and for an attitude that could be described by his “typical white person” phrase. So maybe that’s how he really thinks/feels about his grandmother and other whites — though I’m sure if he were in conference with his speech writer, they might have come up with a better phrase.

Btw here is more info on the communist (assuming it’s the same communinist):

    http://www.aim.org/aim-column/obamas-communist-mentor/

The record shows that Obama was in Hawaii from 1971-1979, where, at some point in time, he developed a close relationship, almost like a son, with Davis, listening to his “poetry” and getting advice on his career path. But Obama, in his book, Dreams From My Father, refers to him repeatedly as just “Frank.”

  410. Diva..I’ve blacked that place out now for months. They are the biggest bunch of Hillary haters and I would never give them a clik on the remote unless they clean up their act.

  411. HILLARYFORTEXAS…and in addition to what you said regarding the republicans crossing over…a couple of months ago Dick Morris, I think Rush, and others on the radio and cable tv…were telling everyone to vote for OBAMA…

this trend of telling them to vote for Hillary just came about before Ohio and Texas…

so this has been going on since Iowa…and mostly to the advantage of Obama…and I am sure the stats show it…

  412. the polls, the polls!!! it’s all about the polls, Obama has to remain in controversy, and he has to keep these low poll numbers. I think not having a debate would have been better, because it will be a good opportunity for him to speak to more people… but we cant let wright die… and Hillary won’t directly attack him on it. These polls is what will let her win S.D’s

  413. And I would like to ask everyone to NOT watch CNN tonight. Do not let them reap any ratings by having his mug on the tv again.

It’s been all about covering ass this week and I don’t plan to let CNN think he brings in rave reveiws.

  414. mp:
Did you email that articlefrom New Republic (paragraph 37) where it states Wright was former Muslim? That proves they are all Muslims in sheep’s clothing -hell, we have radical Islamists fixing to take over this country. I feel like I’m reading from the Book of Revelations. HELP!!!!!

  415. you know what…. i really think we should start including the mainstream morning shows on our email lists for sending out info… today show, gma and cbs morning show…. most of america watches this stuff when theyre getting ready for work in the morning.

matthews just showed a chart that relected obama’s numbers in parallel with gma showing the wright video. huge huge drop and he hast rebounded… the graph showed that the speech did NOTHING. NADA!

  416. BASIL * BASIL * BASIL* BASIL *

COULD YOU SEND YOUR INFORMATION TO DAVID GREGORY, AND ANY OTHER GOOD INFO, CAUSE I THINK HE WILL PUT IT OUT THERE

  417. I hope Media Matters or some journalism non-profit is keeping track of how much free airtime CNN is giving BO. Ridiculous – at this point, the Equal Time clause should allow Hillary her own mini-series.

Also, has anyone else noticed that BO is a drama queen? – all this drama brought unto the campaigning coverage b/c of BO.

  418. anybody here post on Hillary’s web blog?

If you could post a link to larryking voting..the bots have a bot machine…I’m most sure. They skewer every poll.

  419. Yes Bambi is the biggest DramaQueen I’ve ever seen and believe me, I watch figure skating and you ain’t seen no drama queens till you watch that stuff for years.

  420. I hope Hillary will do a whole round of shows NEXT week. Follow around him and show what a REAL candidate looks like versus a rehearsed empty suit.

  421. CNN SAYING OBAMAS CAMPAIGN ACCUSING HILLARY OF LYING ABOUT NAFTA AND CALLING FOR HILLARY TO APOLOGIZE TO THE COUNTRY FOR DECIEVING THEM. SAYING IT BRINGS INTO QUESTION HER AUTHENTICITY. THEY SAY NEWLY RELEASED PAPERS SHOWS SHE WAS AT MEETINGS ASKING FOR SUPPORT…
DAVID GERGEN SAYS ITS TRUE THAT PRIVATELY HILLARY COMPLAINED ABOUT NAFTA, LOU SAYS ANOTHER EX CLINTON AID SAYS SAME THING THAT HILLARY DIDNT WANT NAFTA, BUT SAYS SHE DIDNT WANT IT TO CONFLICT WITH HER AGENDA TO GET HEALTHCARE.

THIS IS WHAT WE WERE TALKING ABOUT, THOSE TWO LADIES SAYING HILLARY ASKED THEM TO SUPPORT NAFTA FROM THOSE MEETINGS.

  422. Does anybody really think that Hillary doesn’t remember what happened with Nafta? I believe her campaign has already addressed this issue.

Every time Obama and his hitmen throw something at her, she calmly throws it right back.

  423. BHO campaign is desperate..this from a campaign who sent someone to speak with the Canadians to tel them its just politics…HA….remember that Barry Manilow song “Mandy”…I am going to try to make up a song called ‘ “Oh Bambi”

  424. NEW CONTROVERSIAL REMARKS FROM OBAMA ON RADIO, SAYS LOU DOBBS…

OBAMA CALLING HIS GRANDMOTHER A ‘TYPICAL WHITE PERSON’

he is having shelby steele on next…is that a good thing?

I saw a Bill Moyers program with Shelby Steele about 2 months ago. This guy is in a think tank at Stanford. He is a conservative AA, and has written numerous books on racial issues. Listen to him, and let me know, what you think. He has a lot of insight.

  426. GO VOTE .. TRY TO REVOTE IF YOU CAN FIGURE OUT HOW…….

All you have to do is keep going to the website over and over. I figured that out right away. Vote…back out unto the google page…retype the url…vote…rinse repeat. 😉

  427. i dont think the news cycle is going to be a big deal…. most ppl i know are getting ready to go on vacation… most wont be back until next sunday.. no one watches the news on vacay… at best they may pick up a paper at b/fast, but they arent going to care abt this…. i think hillary gets a pass for the next week and i think will leave thinking that obama and his black nationalist mentor are not good for this country.

i think “typical white people” are sick bc they KNOW this would be THE END for a white candidate… man or woman… they would be DONE if they were going to a church that taught hate and put blacks down. the double standard is glaring and obama cant do anything abt that, but ppl are angry abt it and they are talking abt it. this isnt going to go away.

  428. saw a Bill Moyers program with Shelby Steele about 2 months ago.

I adore Shelby Steele. He takes a ration of Uncle Tom shit from some insecure folks, but higher minds people of color almost always recognize that he’s on the right track.

  429. I’m a typical white person..I actually would vote for the RIGHT African American. Obama is the one who continues to play the race card and to WHINE>

The gig is up, he’s been caught and the country is fed up with the fraud that is Obambi

  430. VOTE ON LOU DOBBS:

DO YOU BELIEVE THAT THE WORDS THAT JOHN KERRY AND BARACK SAID TODAY HURTS OBAMAS CHANCES TO BE ELECTED/

  431. SHELBY SAID:

GIVE WHITES THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT, USUALLY THEY WILL MORE THAN SATIFY YOUR TRUST…

    NICE…

  432. i want someone to ask bambi to define a “typical white person.” he obvi thinks typical white folks are scared of black folks. really? no one told me and i’m white.

  433. Ohio investigates Republicans who were Democrats for a Day (well, hell, if they end up fining these people, maybe the Michigan Democrats for a Day can pay a revote by mail). Plus, hypocritically, if Rush gets called out for encouraging Republicans to cross-over, Markos of DailyKos should be called out too.

    mydd.com/story/2008/3/20/153259/922

Today, it is being reported that the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections has launched an investigation into 16,000 local Republicans who switched their party registration prior to the March 4th Ohio Democratic Presidential Preference Primary.

The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections has launched an investigation that could lead to criminal charges against voters who maliciously switched parties for the March 4 presidential primary.

Elections workers will look for evidence that voters lied when they signed affidavits pledging allegiance to their new party. And at least one board member, Sandy McNair, a Democrat, wants the county prosecutor to review the findings.

The investigation comes 10 days after The Plain Dealer reported that more than 16,000 Cuyahoga County Republicans changed parties before voting March 4.

  434. Interesting, Obama’s Grandmother Changes Islam Story

    http://www.littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/?entry=29154_Obamas_Grandmother_Changes_Islam_Story&only

    Obama’s Grandmother Changes Islam Story

Yesterday’s edition of USA Today had a story about Barack Obama’s
grandmother in Kenya, in which she slams the Clinton campaign for
circulating photos of Obama in Muslim garb—and then states that she is a
    Christian: Obama’s grandma slams ‘untruths’.

Obama’s grandfather had converted to Islam from Roman Catholicism and
taken the name Hussein, Sarah Obama said, but his children had inherited
only the name, not the religion. Each person should be able to choose how
    they worshipped, she said.

“In the world of today, children have different religions from their
parents,” she said. She, too, is a Christian.

Just one little problem with this statement.

In April of last year, Sarah Hussein Obama told the New York Times she is a
    devout Muslim.

Sarah Hussein Obama, who is his stepgrandmother but whom Mr. Obama calls
his grandmother, still rises at 5 a.m. to pray before tending to her crops
and the three orphans she has taken in.

“I am a strong believer of the Islamic faith,” Ms. Obama, 85, said in
    a recent interview in Kenya.

  435. $#@% this $%^^. Pelosi whined about Hillary saying Mccain is qualified to be CiC (what teh hell was she supposed to say, no, as a vet and a POW he has no credibility whatsoever in national security???) but she says nothing when Bambi’s minions call Clinton a liar on TV? That’s a little divisive, nancy.

  436. PELOSI has become the official prostitute of the democrat big whigs.

As you may know I LOATHE that piece of slime.

  437. So Obama can leghump the corpse of Reagan on a regular basis, and it’s all about unity and wooing Republicans into our camp. But Hillary says a nice, true word about McCain, and she is bad.

    Nancy is a tool.

  438. @jubjub… i am so confused… how is obama his stepmother? his stepfather’s name was lolo soetoro… are you sure they arent talking abt his paternal grandmother?

  439. BUT WHAT ABOUT RED AND BROWN FOLKS SHELBY?

CAN YOU TRUST US TOO? LOL

Shelby’s of the opinion (and I agree 100%) that the reason we continue to have racial division in this country is because groups from BOTH sides engage us in a power struggle. The feed the flames of hate and blame in order to grab power. Those flames are what makes it difficult for us to have any REAL unity. Think of it this way: Sharpton runs around hopping on every little misspeak a white person says. He does this because he knows it keeps white folks in the box on not n=being able to speak. It’s a political power grab. Good for him, but for regular black and white folks like you and me, it’s nothing but more obstacles to try to get beyond. White people are afraid to tell me how they really feel, because they think I’ll ounce all over every thing they say too. White supremists do the same shit to white people…feed their heads full of a bunch of shit in order to feed their fears. GREAT for the white supremist and their grab for the power…not so great for us ordinary black and white folks.

ANd if anyone tries to tell the truth about it, like Steele for example , the label HIM an uncle tom in order to put him in the “shut up box”.

That’s why I say over and over to people of every color, if you REALLY want this racial division to end, stop listening to the people in power and start just talking honestly with your black or white or brown or yellow neighbor. These powerbrokers don’t give a fuck about you or me.

  440. I VOTED AT LARY KING, AND HERE IS MY QUESTION FOR OBAMA, THAT I SUBMITTED:

WHY SHOULD A PERSON WHO IS NOT AFRICAN AMERICA, BELIEVE THAT YOUR AGENDA AS PRESIDENT WOULD NOT SOLELY BE IN THE BENEFIT OF AFRICAN AMERICANS…

  441. Here is the recurring train of think that I have encountered this week with people

“Obama was forced to deal with this issue because he was “outed”

“People shudder to think that big media has covered for this man, kept silent while they knew about his spiritual advisor and the extreme hatred that the advisor carries forth of America, white people and our government.

“People will NOT forget this .. he is unelectable RIGHT NOW”

Actually the more he gets on tv it actually will hurt him now, the more he tries to persuade people that he was simply “unaware” the more doubts creep in about his overall honesty, integrity, personal judgement and ethics.

We really thought Rezco would bring this all out. I believe prayer works in mysterious ways.

    His father had multiple wives.

  445. IDunn Bravo.

I actually said upthread that I think the racial divide in this country has become MORE inflamed because Obama keeps stroking it.

He is challenging all AA .. vote for me or you are a traitor..

Hillary Clinton has not challenged women like this, she has laid out her message and her vision and she has been more fair in this election that I know I could be. I’d already have laid into him and his entire bunch.

  446. Amen, Idunn. If WE, the real people, will just not be afraid and talk to each other, it becomes so much better and less tense.

If you do that, you run the risk of sometimes being misunderstood, or having to back up or apologize or work it out. But DAMN it is so much better than the two options that the power brokers want us take, which is either 1) anger and blame or 2) fearful silence.

  447. For example, I know ALOT of white people in America are now thinking that all AA churches have batshit crazy bigot ministers, and that all the congregants in black churches hate white people. But I betcha not a single white person would dare to come to me or Sug or Carby or Anbrit and say, “Ummm, do you guys really hate us?”

Why? Cause you been put in the shut up box, ya retards. 😉

  448. http://www.hillaryclinton.com/news/release/view/?id=6655

    Clinton Campaign Statement on Michigan

The following is a statement from Deputy Communications Director Phil Singer in response to reports that efforts to hold a new vote in Michigan have stalled:

When it comes to the Michigan and Florida primaries, Senator Obama seems to only be capable of saying no: No to honoring the January elections, no to holding a new primary vote, no to a vote by mail. The only thing he seems to be for is divvying up delegates in a way that doesn’t reflect the will of the electorate.

Senator Clinton disagrees with solutions that exclude voters and believes there should be new primary elections in Florida and Michigan if the January votes can’t be honored. It is unacceptable to disenfranchise the voters who participated in January and if Senator Obama allows that to happen, there will be implications for Democrats in the general election.

  449. Obama on Anderson 360 last night, he is on Larry King tonight, So, when are we going to see Hillary on these shows???

  450. If you do that, you run the risk of sometimes being misunderstood, or having to back up or apologize or work it out.

True, but most people (when they aren’t being stirred up by the power players) understand that we all say things out of sheer ignorance sometimes. Shit, I get called down by BOTH black and white people, because I’m alittle ignorant of BOTH cultures. And my asian friends…holy cow. I’m so ignorant about asian culture it’s laughable. But if those people were to shut the door on me for every little ignorant thing I said, I’d never know anything about their culture at all. And I’d be terrified to ever ask a second time.

(editted to add…see, I used the phrase Holy Cow, and I don’t even know if that’s offensive to asians. Isn’t it Indians that hold the cow sacred? I dunno. LOL…I’m a retard too.)

  451. Indulge me, please.
    Conspiracy theory time:
What if BO saying today on morning talk radio that his grammy was a “typical white person” wasn’t a misstatement but calculated to fan the flames in his unverbalized intention to get out of the race, either via word through his financial backers or the DNC and Dems. In other words, he’s DELIBERATELY digging his own grave. I mean, he’s TOO smart to come out and say stuff like that, especially in blue-collar PA.
I smell another plot. Maybe BO is inadvertently dragging some other folks into the spotlight . . . it just doesn’t make sense that BO would make that remark in light of what he’ been through this week. Whadday think?

  452. Every time I hear Obama say “she’s a typical white person” I cringe.

Me too. I’m just glad I’ve never had to cringe at HRC saying, “Well, she’s a typical black person.” Sure, hop all over an innocent little awkward moment where she tried to articulate thoughts about MLK and LBJ, but let Obama get away with the most bigotted shit, and nobody says a damned word. And if they do, hoooo boyyy…what kind of racists must THEY be?!

  453. Idunn, H4T,

You guys are making me laugh and cry. My best friend of 26 years died 2 years ago this month. She was white and Jewish. We used to have conversations like this all thie time.. She was the first to explain what a Jewish American Princess was. It was Her. She was a walking contradiction. Her hubbie is a Naderite. She would say alot of the things Idunn says…very free spirited….and a Hillfan frim 1993…if she were alive it would be Hill all the way

  454. LOU DOBBS:

THE IDEA THAT OBAMA IS THE ONE BRINGING THE RACE PROBLEM TO THE RACE, IS ASTOUDING…

    ZIMMERMAN: OBAMA ELEVATED THE DISCUSSION OF RACE;;;

KERRY SAID THIS MORNING: OBAMA HAS AN ABILITY TO CLOSE THE DIVIDE, HE ALSO HAS THE ABILITY TO REACH THE RADICAL ELEMENT IN THE WORLD AND HEAL THE WOUNDS, BECAUSE HE IS A BLACK MAN…

  455. well I’m afraid of Idunn..she most likely knows where I live. **looks over shoulder and into woods**

  456. Idunn

what if one of hilfans said to bho ” gee you don’t talk black” or how about, “you don’t sound like a real black person”
isn’t that the same as saying “typical white person?

  457. ZIMMERMAN SAYS NOT TO HAVE A REVOTE TO INCLUDE FLORIDA AND MICHIGAN IS SCANDALOUS…

AND OFCOURSE MARK HALPERIN ROCKS, ALWAYS GOOD

  458. does anybody here believe that horseshit

“Obama can Heal the radical element in the world”

Hell, he wouldn’t even confront his friggin minister.

  459. Yes! One of my very best friends came out today and told me she thinks Obama is a clown and a bully and should drop out of the race now if not sooner. 🙂

Sigh…I was feeling pretty isolated for a while because my other friends are mostly “walk on water” Obama supporters.

  460. @basil… no. i dont think youre right on this one…. agreed that he is “too smart”, BUT he’s gotten pushed off his usual game. there is no teleprompter… remember??? he sucks without a script. the voice gets shakey, the eyes blink really fast…

he doesnt want to lose this! that arrogance? “theyve” been grooming him for this for years and years and years… remember this… obama was tapped by rezco to come work for him upon barak graduating from harvard, THEN baak went to chicago…. i think thats very very very telling…

  461. Yes, Hillary and her whole team have to walk on eggshells and Obama can go on tv and use the word “typical white person” and we are not supposed to feel upset.

  462. That idiot Drudge is going all ballistic–the State Dept fired two people for unauthorized access to Barack Obama’s personal passport file…calling it “dirty tricks”. Obviously a couple Republican staffers looking for dirt but you know who it will be blamed for it..

  463. I still think he is the antichrist or some evil person from Revelation. Honest I do, in all seriousness.

  464. SANDY CROWLEY: PRIMARY REVOTE GREAT UPHILL BATTLE.
SHE SAYS OBAMA SAYS THE MICHIGAN VOTE WAS UNFAIR, BECAUSE SO MANY REPUBLICANS CROSSED THE LINES AND VOTED FOR CLINTON AND IT WAS UNFAIR…
ONE OF THEIR REASONS WHY THEY DIDNT WANT A REVOTE.

  465. @dot: two things…
    1) do you live in the woods? you said you were looking over your shoulder in the woods…

2)re: bambi healing the radical wounds??? it sounds like kerry and michelle are both drinking the bambi-is-jesus juice! barak isnt only running for prez… he is apparently seen as some sort of savior and he and only he can “heal the wounds of the world” for real???

  466. well didn’t the legislation say that “only” democrats could vote.

Bambi is drowning..people are gonna remember that he doesn’t want to count the votes.

  467. Basil – I think this one was a BO gaffe. Someone earlier said that if it weren’t lodged somewhere deeply in his subconscious, he wouldn’t have said it. Why would he want to heap all this criticism on himself and extend the dialogue about race for another news cycle?

he should just step down NOW – unelectable!

  468. OH JEEEEEEZZZZZZZ!
I can’t BELIEVE this one. Now the BO campaign is ACCUSING someone of breeching BO’s passport security file and it can be traced back to the state department??????

Apparently, someone copied his passport file and records and there’s a parallel between Bush 1 investiganting BC’s file and Bush 2 with BO’s.

Now isn’t THAT convenient timing!!!!!!! There have been firings over this. You know BM is gonna be over this one.

SKMF, could you PLEEZE stop typing in caps? it’s so hard to read and i don’t wanna miss a word. 🙂

  469. what if one of hilfans said to bho ” gee you don’t talk black” or how about, “you don’t sound like a real black person”
isn’t that the same as saying “typical white person?

I dunno. When I hear, “gee you don’t talk black” , I can sort of understand that. It’s alittle like saying, you don’t sound like you’re from Boston. I mean, the truth is, many black people do have a certain dialect that is discernible…just like southerners, or new englanders or what have you. Do ALL black people have that dialect, no. And to assume that they do, is a bit bigotted, imo. But to say, “A typical black person” is something else all together…that removes individuality. It assumes that we are all the same because of our skin color. That’s extremely biggotted. Maybe even racists, if the negative connotations of racial inferiority are there.

What are your thoughts? Do you think the two are on the same par?

  470. “SANDY CROWLEY: PRIMARY REVOTE GREAT UPHILL BATTLE.
SHE SAYS OBAMA SAYS THE MICHIGAN VOTE WAS UNFAIR, BECAUSE SO MANY REPUBLICANS CROSSED THE LINES AND VOTED FOR CLINTON AND IT WAS UNFAIR…
ONE OF THEIR REASONS WHY THEY DIDNT WANT A REVOTE.”

This is total B.S. Doesn’t this show our girl has the cross party appeal? So if the republicans vote for him = good; if they vote for Hillary = unfair.
I have never seen anybody sooooo shameless. Even Bush was not this bad!

  471. obama camp is wanting to swing the attention away from the next shoe to drop.

why not just turn over his passport .. no big deal, unless he has been somewhere he doesn’t want us to know about.

You gotta know those records are gonna get out

    What is he HIDING?

  472. >.Even Bush was not this bad

thats what i have been saying.. BUSH might be dumb but he is honest and want to serve the country in good intentions.. 🙂

  473. does anybody here believe that horseshit

“Obama can Heal the radical element in the world”

Hell, he wouldn’t even confront his friggin minister.

Snarf! It’s funny cause it’s true.

  474. I can’t BELIEVE this one. Now the BO campaign is ACCUSING someone of breeching BO’s passport security file and it can be traced back to the state department??????

He’s all pissed because the neocons discovered he’s a muslim plant.

And by the way, the Pope is gonna investigate him next. Check out his numbers to see if they add up to 666.

  476. diva .. I am so far in the wilderness that we have to pipe in the sunshine!

Well quit boggarting and pass the pipe this way…I’ve got seedlings that could use some of that sunshine.

  477. Here we go again.

    Obama the victim:

    Starring: Barack Obama

Co-starring: Michelle Obama and the Obamabots

Stay tuned. Their first record will be coming out very soon! 😉

  478. Inninla and Diva,

OK. I admit i get carried away but BO reminds me of the Stepford Candidate.
AND there are so many threads in this story that just seem to unravel into nowhere. Someone (or some group) is orchestrating his candidacy and I’m not talking about just the DNC, the Dems, Kennedy and crew . . . . . This is cyber chess.

  479. well, Golly – if he would just come clean about his passport and travel records, no one would have to break in to get them. Jeesh.

skmf12 – why do you always type in CAPS?

  480. THEY ARE DESPERATE, WE HAVE TO KEEP GIVING EM SHIT NON STOP…
PRESS EM LIKE THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN PRESSED BEFORE…

KEEP THE WRIGHT STORY WHERE IT BELONGS, IN THE NEWS !!!!!

THESE ARE GOING TO BE UGLY DAYS

  481. Obama is flailing around trying to get some traction on anything. Whether it’s throwing mud at McCain, Hillary, Bush, Ferraro, Wright or his grandmother. The problem is that what he’s throwing is just coming right back at him. And the level of investigation into his hidden past is ratcheting up.

  482. The fact that it happened in Jan. but only released now makes it obvious that this is an Obama ploy to somehow smear Hillary.

  483. Idunn, that’s just stupid. Everyone who’s seen The Omen movies knows you have to shave his head to find the 666 tatooed there.

anbritt, I’ve had friends of all colors, and we have gotten into some doozies of conversations, asking insane questions and sometimes poking fun at each other and ourselves. That’s how it’s done. That is the healing. 😀

  484. Huh, Repubs voted for Hillary in MI? WTF is Obama talking about?

BTW, the Repubs did the same passport thing when Bill C. was running ’92.

Also, Hillary attended ONE STINKIN’ MEETING on NAFTA. What’s she supposed to do, undercut her husband’s policy?

  485. jubjub!

That is manipulative and devious. BO says Republicans crossed the line to vote for . . . . who?????? HRC????????

What about his “Democrat for a Day” strategy.

  486. anbritt, I’ve had friends of all colors, and we have gotten into some doozies of conversations, asking insane questions and sometimes poking fun at each other and ourselves. That’s how it’s done. That is the healing.

yep. Now how come you white folks don’t use washclothes when you bathe. That’s nasty, yo.

  487. sorry inla,

well to be honest, i cant see…
apparently i am losing my vision, but if you want me to stop, that was the wrong question.

    heres the right one:

skmf, turn the F*KING caps off !!!!
    hows that?

  488. I dunn says, “But I betcha not a single white person would dare to come to me or Sug or Carby or Anbrit and say, “Ummm, do you guys really hate us?”

Why? Cause you been put in the shut up box, ya retards. ”

    Well, do ya?

Lin who is out of her shut up box as well all know too well. lol

  489. If Bill Clinton’s passport was accessed by Republicans when he was a candidate and if the Obama camp tries to make this some kinds of “dirty tricks” smear Bill can just come out and say the Republicans did it to him too.

  490. Well, do ya?

I can’t speak for all people of color, but I like you Linfar. I did hear Sugar and Anbritt say you were one uppity white bitch, though. I’m just sayin’. 😉

  491. Ogremann like a bulldog with the passport issue. Oh, this is the biggest scandal, blahblahb;ah . . . They must be DESPERATE to regain ratings and bail his blankie buddy outta the sup.
    Fineman soooo outraged.

BTW, is it only me or does anyone else find Roland Martin’s stacatto machine-guy speech painful?

  492. i think the hoopla abt the passport has to do with the fact that technically obama has dual citizenship… kenya and usa. wouldnt that be noted in his passport files? he probably doesnt want that info surfacing mainstream right now!

  493. they are so desperate.

they know that obama has made MORE serious gaffes today and they know to try to steer the coverage.

I bet they are hiring firefighters on that campaign left and right. Spacegirl..you might could get a job there instead of at the PD

  494. SKMF…if your eye sight is that bad, and it’s uncomfortable for you to type in lower case, I won’t hold you to the no caps rule. Cap away, as far as I’m concerned. 🙂

  495. well, you know I am not mad about McCain putting one of his aide’s on suspension, but what I am mad about is that he had too. Well, I thought according to Kerry, McCaskill and others that Obama is not coming to us as a black man victim, so, if he isn’t why is everyone including the right having to handle everything with kid gloves. Does he want to be known as the affirmative action candidate. so I just want to say he can’t stand the heat, get the hell out of the kitchen!!

  496. It’s obvious this passport thing is being released now to distract from Wright, etc. Yawn …

As I and others have said here a zillion times, the Wright issue is a huge problem for Obama in the GE, and what’s happening now about it won’t change that.

  497. Now the passport thing is BREAKING NEWS on CNN too and fata$$ Candy Crowley can’t WAIT to report it.

I emailed Lou Dobbs last night complaining about Crawley’s biased reporting. I guess he didn’t read my email. 🙁

  498. H4T—isn’t it nice to have friends where you can say what you want? I have asked so many questions of my friends and they of me. We do call each other names that others may not understand sometimes….its all good

  499. We don’t use wash cloths? ROFL that is too funny.

Well, I’m basing that soley on my white husband, so maybe it’s not a color thing, but a gender thing.

    Men are nasty, yo?

  500. Now for news that actually affects people’s lives, Hillary unveiled a second stimulus package today:

    news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080320/pl_nm/usa_politics_dc

  501. someone i know told me today that they are voting for obama. am i horrible person for not wanting to be friends with this person anymore? i am not kidding eithe. i feel so friggin betrayed… she never mentioned she was even thinking af switching and then bam… “ive gone to the dark side.”

  502. ok ok people,

    i got the caps thing,
    dont worry k?

    got any other f*cking complaints?
cause i’m starting to feel irritable here…

  503. Evening all!

    read up thread

Linfar, thanks and accepted. I hope you are feeling a bit better, and want you to know I appreciate your work.

IDunn, thanks for my getting back TWICE! Now I guess I have to be your slave…. and yes, you are right, I can be bitchy when I am upset.

  504. When is Easter? Is it this Sunday? My poor Mother relys on me to tell her stuff like that. Poor woman.

  505. LOL! Idunn, who told you that about us white folk not using washcloths? I do, but I confess sometimes I use my “poof” instead. And my special moisturizing body wash, so I don’t get dry here in south Texas. You people would call that “ashy”, right?

I see the media is hopping on the passport thing trying desperately to change the subject for poor beleaguered Bambi.

  506. got any other f*cking complaints?

yep…I don’t really care for your log in name. Makes me think of skim milk.

  507. IDUNN,

I’m gonna do a numerology check on his complete name.

    SKMF,

Awwwwwww. I feel terrible that I asked you to stop typing in caps. Sometimes people do that and don’t realize the caps lock tab is on. If you’re having eye problems, type away however it works for you.

    I’m sorry. 🙁

  508. IDunn, thanks for my getting back TWICE! Now I guess I have to be your slave….

let me hold $100 and we’ll call it even. 😉

Now, does anyone have a link to the passport thing? I’d love to see it.

  509. who cares abt what bush does anymore… the guy is dancing every single innapriate chance he gets and he even sang a week ago… cheney says on gma “SO???” to the fact that 66% of americans think the war was a mistake.

they dont care…. i wouldnt be sprised if cheney held a press conference and said… “yeah… i tapped into bambi’s files. SO?” “havent you heard of homeland security? didnt you hear he has terrorist ties? i looked at his passport and i also have transcipts of all of his phone calls… gotta problem with it?”

  510. Oh gawd..bad omen. Watching Hallmark and this guy says “Is that the fat lady I hear singing” Walker, Texas Ranger. Yes, I know my hubby watches corney ass shit. I’m heading to the bedroom at 9pm to get all kinky with Seanitty.

  511. Thanks Space.

Well, just so you know, it wasn’t all wasted. The diary finally got 30 recommendations, but it has not gone on therecommended list.

I don’t know why?I haven’t seen the info anyplace else either. I mean it was published in the LA Times!! it should be a biggie story.

Nope. We are gonna stress about his stoooopid passport . As if anyone cares. It’s like living in a looney bin and the inmates are running the media.

  512. Linfar

“When is Easter? Is it this Sunday? My poor Mother relys on me to tell her stuff like that.”

    ROFL!

well…good thing you are so on top of it then! 😀

  513. idunn,

try thinking of it like this:
    suck this mother f—–
    does this work for you?

skim milk doesnt even come close to describe me,
born early nov, i have a stinger, and i know how to use it…

  514. Damn Diva…you got Bush & Co. down to a science. Except you should have had Cheney say at the end, “And what the fuck are YOU gonna do about it?”

  515. Larry King’s poll has Hillary and Bambi at 50% each, with Bambi having approx. 100 more votes.

    Go vote!!!

  516. Soo. they have DETERMINED it was George and Cheney?

yeah, I’d love to hear from Cheney on this. It really is a legit issue though.

This man has not been VETTED.
