Barack Obama Plays The Bigot Card; Hillary Clinton Fights For Rights

Barack Obama played the Bigot card this past Fall. Without shame or conscience Obama sought to divide staunch Democratic African-American voters from staunch Democratic Gay American voters. Like George Bush, the other “uniter not divider”, Obama proved himself unfit to be president.

Young voters, strong supporters of gay rights, should be especially repulsed by Barack Obama.

Voters in Austin and Houston, Texas must be made aware of Barack Obama’s Bigot Gambit in South Carolina. Obama is trying, like George Bush, to disguise the divisive bigotry he unleashed for political gain. Obama is advertising in major gay newspapers and magazines. Obama is trying to bamboozle the gay community with letters filled with yet more flowery words which fail to obscure the full ugliness of his South Carolina Bigot tour.

Gay voters in Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island and Vermont will have a powerful voice on Tuesday. The gay vote on Tuesday might prove determinative of the election results. In every gay community center, every gay event, every gay bar, every gay health center, every gay educational, social and entertainment venue Obama’s gay bigot tour must be publicized.

Hillary Clinton’s support for the gay community has been acknowledged by more than 65 LGBT leaders who have joined Hillary’s national LGBT steering committee.

Gay voters and young voters must be made aware of the Hillary Clinton record on gay issues. The Dallas Voice:

Democratic presidential contender Hillary Clinton this week pledged, if elected, to “work tirelessly to see that federal benefits are extended to same-sex couples that meet certain standards of commitment, regardless of the state in which they reside.”

Clinton, speaking during a conference call Wednesday, Feb. 27, with reporters from Dallas Voice and two other LGBT newspapers in Ohio, also took the opportunity to recount her past support for LGBT rights.

Sen. Barack Obama, the other Democratic contender for the White House, did not respond to repeated requests for an interview with Dallas Voice.

Clinton pointed out that she has been a “proud” sponsor of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, the Matthew Shephard Local Law Enforcement Enhancement Hate Crimes Prevention Act and the Domestic Partnerships Benefits and Obligations Act, and that she authored the Early Treatment for HIV Act and fought to “fully fund” the Ryan White CARE Act.

“We have so much work to do, and when I am president, I will work with you to make sure that Americans in committed relationships have equal benefits, and that nothing stands in the way of those who want to adopt children in need,” Clinton said. “We’re going to expand federal hate crimes legislation and pass ENDA, and make sure that both are fully inclusive of all people. And finally, we will put an end to the failed policy of ‘Don’t ask, don’t tell.’” [snip]

“For seven long years, the Bush administration has tried to divide us. They have only seen the people who matter to them … And no community has been more invisible to this administration than the LGBT community, I will change that,” Clinton said. “The best evidence of what I will do as president is what I have already done.” [snip]

Clinton acknowledged that civil union laws like the one enacted last year in New Jersey are flawed, and that they fall short of offering rights and benefits equal to those that come with marriage.

But the senator from New York insisted that “civil unions, if implemented well … are the best way to achieve that.”

When the New Jersey Legislature passed the law creating legal civil unions, they included a provision creating a commission to review the law’s effectiveness in extending benefits to same-sex couples equal to those offered through marriage.

That commission released its first report last week, declaring that civil unions do not work and do, in fact, create a kind of “second-class status” for same-sex couples.

Clinton said Wednesday that from what she understands about the report, “the biggest problem … is with federal benefits, which states really can’t do much about. And that’s why I want to change the law to extend federal benefits.”

The first step toward that goal, she said, would be for Congress to pass the Domestic Partnership Benefits and Obligations Act. The bill, which Clinton has co-sponsored in the Senate, would extend the same benefits, including health insurance, to the domestic partners of federal employees.

“As some of you may know,” Clinton said, “after [the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001], I lobbied very hard to get the administration to extend federal benefits under the Victims Compensation Fund to the partners of those who had perished. That was the first time we were ever able to do that, and guess what — the sky didn’t fall.

“I have been pushing that very hard, to extend all federal benefits, and I intend to make that a high priority,” she said.

Clinton has come under fire from LGBT activists for supporting repeal of only part of the Defense of Marriage Act, a measure signed into law by her husband, then-President Bill Clinton, in 1996, that allows states to refuse to recognize same-sex marriages or civil unions enacted in another state, and which prohibits the federal government from recognizing or extending benefits to same-sex couples. The senator has said she supports repeal of the second portion of the bill, but not the first part.

“My position really does reflect my experience in fighting the [federal marriage amendment banning same-sex marriage],” Clinton said, adding that the section of DOMA that enables states to make their own decisions on marriage helped defeat that amendment.

“I was able to use section one of DOMA to explain to senators that, as had been the tradition in America, that marriage would be up to the states. That was critical in defeating the amendment.”

But, Clinton added, “the heart of what we’re trying to achieve” could be accomplished by repealing the part of DOMA that prevents federal recognition of same-sex couples.

“I think my strategy in actually moving us to equal access to benefits and the rights being generally available is the one most likely to work,” she said. “I will say, as I have said many times, that marriage is left to the states. States get to determine the laws. I think that is … a historic and sensible approach for us to take. There does need to be a concerted and renewed effort to make sure that when states recognize the legality of same-sex marriage, that all benefits be extended. I believe that can be achieved.” [snip]

Clinton described herself as “the sole voice trying to prevent the re-allocation of funding” under the Ryan White CARE Act, a move by the Republican-controlled Congress that requires most federal dollars to go directly to medical services, leaving many support services scrambling for money, and would have, in its original form, moved large sums of federal funds from established AIDS service organizations in larger urban areas to rural areas where the rates of infection have been rising.

“It was not because I didn’t believe that other communities didn’t deserve to have the funding to deal with HIV and AIDS, but because I didn’t want to undermine the work that has been built up for years, and that really is a model,” Clinton said. “So I advocated for expanding the funding for Ryan White, and that’s what I would try to do as president.” [snip]

“This is a cause I feel very deeply about, and I am going to continue doing everything I can as a senator, and certainly as president, to try to change those priorities,” she said.

Young voters, Gay Americans, and “Straight, Not Narrow” Americans will support Hillary Clinton and reject the flowery, scented bigotry of Barack Obama.

  1. Well, admin is posting about it, so I assume it is serious. i just thought it was the typical media bs proven wrong on vote day.

  2. Could it really be? A fact based article about teh Rezko land deal in the NYT? I cannot believe my eyes:

    nytimes.com/2008/03/02/us/politics/02rezko.html?pagewanted=2

  3. OK, this is total BS…”Kenyan Elders May slap Clinton with FINE over Obama Picture”

Jesus F****** Christ! WE KNOW where that picture came from, and Rush & Co keep LYING about it. Now She has to send cows or goats or something to Kenya. CAN’T WE STOP THIS STUPID STORY?

I tracked it bak farther from a link posted here, but don’t know how to determine the WhoIs info.

  4. As far as I know, the gays aren’t going anywhere.

Here’s where our operation needs to do better: there is a web page popular with gays called Datalounge. The Obama camp infiltrated this board months ago with non-stop postings about how Hillary is failing, how great HE is, yada yada. They have kids sitting around doing nothing but posting this crap all over the web, all the time. It really can’t be hard to do, assign one or two volunteers to wallpaper sites with comments – pretty soon looks like the whole country is having an Obamagasm. Not True. I’ve taken up posting for HRC on CNN and ABC – Politico is a lost cause.

  5. This is absolute bs. She had nothing to do with the picture. This is Obama’s relatives trying to embarrass her.

  6. I think the World News Daily or what ever that rag was who published it in Feb, needs to send them a cattle car full of Cows and dung and tell them to shut the F*** UP!

IIs THIS what we can expect from an Obama Presidency? Every whacked out tribal elder in the world wanting compensation for some perceived offense?

Will we really have to deal with this?

We may as well start running Old Tarzan movies and give up

  7. sorry mj.

Guess I’ve been sitting at the pc too long, but I just don’t get which part of the admin report you think isn’t serious. Is it the notion that GLBT’s would never vote for BO or is it that GLBT issues aren’t important?

  8. But a review of court records, including new details of Mr. Rezko’s finances that emerged recently, show that the lot purchase occurred as he was being pursued by creditors seeking more than $10 million, deepening the mystery of why he would plunge into a real estate investment whose biggest beneficiary appears to have been Mr. Obama.

there we go… bambiii in trouble big time… 🙂

  9. Does anyone know the name of that committee Hillary is on for the military. She is the only sitting Senator on it. I can’t remember waht it is called.

  10. everything that could be said about obama – rezko in these two paragraphs.. hahahaha 🙂 its not boneheaded mistake… fu bambi… just fu

Obama.

As Mr. Obama and Mr. Rezko were completing the property purchases in June 2005, Mr. Rezko was fighting to keep lenders and investors at bay over defaulted loans and failing business ventures. But he side-stepped that financial dragnet by arranging for the land to be bought in his wife’s name, making it the only property she owned by herself, according to land records.

  11. basil, it’s the notion that LGBT WOULD vote for him. She has recieved about 65% og that vote everywhere. So I just didn’t take the suggestion Obama was getting that vote seriously yesterday, but since admin is posting on it, now I’m concerned it’s serious.

  12. hehehehehe :)…

There is nothing to indicate that Mr. Obama did any favors for Mr. Rezko, but there is ample evidence that Mr. Rezko did favors for Mr. Obama.

  13. Oh well, now they figure it out. My lord, only took them a year. But why would Mr.Rezco do favors for someone who didn’t do favors for him?

  14. No. I was talking about the military tranformation committe(I think). She was the only Senator asked to serve on it. I think it deals with restructuring the armed forces.

  15. wagner1jc: You suggest something that the commenters here can do. Let’s not leave it to the Hillary campaign to do what we can do. Does anyone here post on this site you write about, Datalounge?

Instead of CNN or other such sites it is more important to write on sites such as Datalounge and Perez Hilton. Links to the articles we wrote on McClurkin should be posted on sites such as Datalounge (links are on today’s post; maybe link to today’s post).

The gay vote can determine the outcome in Tuesday primaries. Let us get the information out.

To paraphrase JFK: Ask not what the Hillary campaign can do Ask what you can do for the Hillary campaign.

  16. I agree with admin. Especially, if you are already involved in those sites. Hit them hard now. Maybe also tell them he wouldn’t do that Texas interview, and about McClurkin, and that Hill was the First FL to walk in a gay pride parade, etc.

    clintondem99, that’s incredibly generous.

  17. I will make Datalounge my mission – I am also trying to recruit callers for a phone bank tomorrow afternoon in Phoenix – if you know anyone who wants to help: wagner1jc@aol.com

Lets just say I need more people.

  18. good news 🙂
obama tries to mock hillary in R.I.. and crowd booed him big time… hahaha embarassing for obama

“It was one week ago Sunday that Hillary Clinton stood in the rec center at Rhode Island College and mocked fellow presidential candidate Barack Obama for his campaign’s theme of hope, saying Obama can’t just “wave a magic wand and have the special interests disappear.”

Now, this Sunday, the Illinois senator took that same stage and couldn’t resist bringing up her comments, now immortalized on websites like YouTube.

“I think she was here, right?” Obama said toward the end of his stump speech. “She was saying ‘Oh, you know, he thinks that the clouds will part and… [that] he’s so naïve.”

The room quickly erupted in ‘boos.’

    “Wait, wait, wait,” he said.

“He thinks he can wave a magic wand,” he continued, “and suddenly everything will be great.”

Obama then went in to his standard stump lines, saying it’s ture he “talks about hope a lot.” He then defended his rationale in doing so.

  20. MJS…I saw that and I thought the same…he was saying “wait wait wait” as a request to the crowd to not BOO Hillary

    IMO

    although we can dream!

  21. So they were laughing with her a week ago and now they are booing her? What a fricken joke. She coined the phrase “I still believe in a place called Hope.”

REZKO (FINALLY) breaks into NY Times (although on inside pages)

As Developer Heads to Trial, Questions Linger Over a Deal With Obama

By MIKE McINTIRE and CHRISTOPHER DREW
    Published: March 2, 2008

Tony Rezko was obviously in trouble. He was a defendant in at least a dozen lawsuits, federal investigators in Chicago were poking around, and his name was in newspaper articles about corruption and fraud.

None of that stopped Mr. Rezko, a politically connected developer, and Senator Barack Obama from completing real estate deals a few years ago that resulted in the Obamas obtaining their dream house and the Rezkos buying an empty lot next door.

Nearly three years later, fallout from Mr. Obama’s relationship with Mr. Rezko, who raised more than $150,000 for Mr. Obama’s campaigns, continue to dog Mr. Obama on the presidential campaign trail. That distraction promises to linger as Mr. Rezko goes on trial on corruption charges starting
    Monday.

  25. NBC exit polling found that among the 4% of California voters who identified as GLB, 63% voted for Clinton, 29% for Obama, and 1% for Edwards. In New York, 7% of voters self-identified as GLB and 59% voted for Clinton, 36% for Obama, and 3% for Edwards.

go hit the Advocate Blog I posted please

NOT ONE NICE WORD for Mr. Obama

  26. the page is saying Hillary is going to make a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live. Woooohoooo

  27. seriously, I looked at datalounge and it’s hardly a bastian of intellegence. Frankly people in the gay community are much more astute and well versed on issues. They’ve been politically active for years and most understand rhetoric very well. Most will not easily succomb to it.
This is one lesbian that doen’t fall for the “pretty” face or speeches of BHO

  28. OMG the BOTS are all over the advocate site!

ALL with the EXACT SAME TALKING POINTS!

    “SCRIPT PLEASE”

  29. Ihave completely tuned out MSNBC. Even when I go to that political page with Chuck Todd’s smarmy face, my computer locks up. That’s where I got stuck that night on Rove and I yelled at Blue Dem. I don’t even ut the tv on them any more. I have been pretty much reduced to FOX NEWS.

It is no wonder America is hated the world over. This IS the biggest slime ball media on the FREE Planet. At least in dictatorships you KNOW you are getting propaganda.

  30. Yeah, he’s buying a lot of it. Hillary’s 32 million is a crazy amount and its not enough to compete. Granted Ross Perot and Romney couldn’t buy it. Still you level the playing field financially and I bet this race looks a tad different.

2012 better have some serious eletion reform in place. And all 50 states involved.

Hey. Spacegirl, if BO does win the nom and Florida isn’t counted maybe you can choos your own president! Why should you have to deal with one you had no say in? The united states of Fl/MI

  31. Is it true Hill wont be in TX Tuesday night? I hope that is not true. Look, please get over to the advocate site and tell them about McClurkin, the SF mayor, everything. Some of those folks maybe too young to know what an advocate Hill has always been. Where has Obama been? Also, adoption. She’s a leader in Congress in trying to get adoption rights for gays. Also, after that gay Senator from MA died she started pushing heavy for gays to get federal benefits. Obama? Crickets.

  32. BBack to the Ricin story…

that happened about two weeks ago. People getting ill and in hospital.

Today, Las Vegas police admitted that there were also GUNS and ANARCHIST literature fond with the ricin.

When was the Nevada Caucus that was disrupted?

Police says “this does not mean it is terrorism”

    HA! SAY WHAT?

SOUNDL LIKE IT TO ME, even ifd DOMESTIC.

  33. I hate this stuff of “Is the MMedia too hard on Hillary”

then they all talk as if “the media” is someone else than THEM!

  34. Someone asked about Datalounge…
Anybody can post there and they can post anonymously. However, unless you are a paid subscriber, you can only access their forum during non-peak hours. So if you try to get in and can’t, go back and try again later. The wee hours of the night usually work best for me.

As Debbie says, Datalounge is hardly a bastion of intelligence. It’s basically a Hollywood gossip board, not a political forum. But voters are voters and now is not the time to get picky about which end of the IQ bell curve we’re dealing with here.

Oh, and did everyone see Jack Nicholson endorsing Hillary on YouTube?

  35. No kidding, spacegirl. The they say “no. the media is not too hard on her. It’s all her fault.”

  36. I swear to god the average person will be so F’ing sick of seeing Obama’s face soon, there will be a backlash like hell.

    He is EVERYWHERE

Just like Dear Leader and all the other fascist dictators who control the media and the message

god, I do not see how Hillary does it

  37. Gosh mj, that was an hour ago! LOL

Just that when his peepe realized he wasnt going to bash him, things were cool, but he felt that all candidates should be asked about issues…i kind of tuned him out after that

  38. Someone emailed me this comment about the Russert Rpund table tonight:

Russert said when he asked about Russia’s new leader – it was a “jump
ball”, and he looked at both of them…and Obama looked at Hillary to
answer, almost like he deferred to her, and they all said on the panel
that he’s intimidated by her,and obviously she is the experienced one
    on foreign policy …

  39. Its sad that we may be close to choosing a dem nominee based not upon issues, platform, plans, experience or readiness for the job but by money, media, lies and empty platitudes. This is how we got Bush dos.

  40. If we lose this election (nomination) like this, I will wait for the GE, Vote for McCain, and move to New Zealand

  41. I have bad visions of a whole lot of disenfranchised AA’s getting really POed because he doesn’t deliver all the hand outs he is implying

But we had HOPE, and we sought CHANGE, and well…it’s hard”

  42. My dog peed on my bed today, I win!

I’m trying to figure out what her deal was. She’s a McCain gal, so maybe that’s it. Maybe I shoukd sign her up as a McCainine.

  43. I think that at some point people are going to tire of Obama , his repetitive message, and his continuous links to shady characters. If it wll be enough to deny him the nomination I don’t know but I think Hillary is doing the right thing. The longer this goes on the more his teflon gets damged and the more questions will be asked even with the immense media bias.

Also, I think she needs to keep doing the commander in chief focus from now to the convention. I think this encourages voters to focus on what they should regarding candidates and not just flowery words. Given the laws of averages, something will happen between now and the convention somewhere in the world and Obamas’ response will be scrutinized. It will bring to the forefront the doubts that are out there on his experience.

Hillary should also keep focusing on starting her own grass roots movement like she is doing now with fundraising…turn the tables on Obama. He is now the establishment candidate…she should make herself the focus of change vs him.

Just some random thoughts this evening….looking forward to SNL…

  44. LOL TD

Angel is practly knocking my coffee cup out of my hand, nudging me and then sit down and sulks.

I have to go for now

    more later

she loves me and I am ignoring her

  45. SpacegirlArt, we are going to win this nomination and this election. This is the wine-track month. The only thing that is keeping Obama afloat in Ohio and Texas is his money and the TV advertising. He is outspending her 3-to-1 and either he is behind or just tied in polls. This is in spite of 6 months of free TV advertising from the lap dog media. There are serious doubts about him among the Democrats.

  46. The media has been complaining for years about the influence of money in politics, but when their Anointed One is spending like a drunken sailor, they say not a word.

  47. mj: DUH! Russert finally acknowledged, that Hillary is the more experienced one on foreign policy. He is a tool.

BTW: Hillary is on C-Span. Fort Worth Rally from earlier today.:)

    Welcome Jen the Michigander :).

  48. Look at this headline:
Obama makes only stop in RI, slams rival (AP)

Notice when it’s Obama, he “slams” or “raps”, but when it is Hill she “attacks”. Why is that? It’s the little thing too that the media has done to undermine this process.

  49. someone said Obama people on gayblogs are young and don’t know something or other, actually I have found that young gay people are more for Hillary and older ones are more Obama, just from what I have found.

  50. why I love Hillary

she doesn’t need the presidency to be a champion for Americans
she doesn’t need me to love her to feel good about herself
she doesn’t back down from a fight
she doesn’t make up fancy speeches just to be popular
she doesn’t turn her back on our military
she doesn’t ignore the stuggles of all Americans
she doesn’t “pretend” to know about the issues, she has mastered them

why do I love Hillary?…she’s got my back!!!

    AND I’VE GOT YOURS HILLARY!!!!!!!!!!

  51. Well…twelve hours in OH.
    In Kirtland…

Started out at an event w/ BC and Strickland this a.m. About 1,200 people. Spent time trying to sign up volunteers.

Then spent afternoon canvassing. Visisted about 50 houses. Many not homes, some HRC supporters, no direct BO supporters although a couple “won’t vote for her'” and one “vote for BO now and McCain in GE.” Spent 35 minutes telling him that was a cowardly way to proceed. Certainly won’t vote for HRC but may hold his fire an not use his vote in the negative. Talked at length with 3 undecideds and think got them to think very seriously about HRC vote.

Spent evening calling. Some hangups, some strong HRC support, no direct BO support and a couple of undecideds.

There were about 10 people in the office canvassing/calling and another 30 calling from home.

Staffers seem very motivated and working hard. Say…” we have enough supporters to win but we need to get them out.” They really need to be doing more in direct GOTV on primary day. They aren’t offering any direct assistance to get to polling sites.

Only negative…. I heard three BO radio ads while out canvassing and no HRC ads. They are definately outspending her.

Tired but I think we accomplished something today.

  52. Ann, that’s a huge problem. In NH we had a whole system of getting elderly to the polls. Is there someone up the foodchain you could say something to?

  53. mj ,
Agree….really surprised that there isn’t more GOTV to the polls here. Staffers claim it is a”resource” issue. There are a lot of older voters here.

  54. LMAO. Some Britney Spears fans are saying they will not vote for Barack because of his disrespect for Britney! LOL

  55. I’m so glad SNL is embracing her. I figured they’d be in the tank for Obama because everyfuckingone else is. So yay for them! 😀

  56. I got this account of the Dallas rally of Hill from http://www.hillaryclinton.com
    *********************************************
I went to both rallies today!

Fort Worth at the Stock Yards over 10,000 men, women and children – every race, age, some in wheelchairs, some in strollers! We waited for almost 2 1/2 hours but it was fabulous! Everyone was so excited!

Dallas at Fair Park – she was beautiful, articulate and stayed and signed autographs for a long time!
Over 5,000 men, women and children – every race, age, some in wheelchairs, some in strollers! Everyone was so excited! People stood in lines to sign up to volunteer on Tuesday!

    We Love You Senator Clinton!

  57. I wish I could go to Texas. I’d rent an SUV (hybrid!) and get a little shuttle to the polls going.

I can go to Oregon, but they vote by mail, so who knows what techniques they’ll use there.

  58. why doesn’t Hillary ever compare Obama allowing people to choose in healthcare with schooling? Obama’s healthcare plan is like telling Parents that they don’t HAVE to send their children to school.

  59. That would only work for the children’s mandate…the problem a lot of people have with mandates is that they tell grown adults what to do…grown adults don’t have to go to school.

  60. Jesus, this is befuddling. Old ladies don’t drive. Is this the case everywhere in OH, or just where you are?

  61. can’t Hillary spend a little dough and rent some buses? stick some (VOTE HILLARY) on the buses and send out bus stop times and stuff? :p

  62. I say if HRC doesn’t win the nom, she runs as an INDEPENDENT. F*ck Howard Dean and his bogus rules!

  63. Yeah, I agree…they really need to offer rides in Ohio, especially if the weather ends up being bad. Though so far while calling, I have not come across anyone who needs a ride. Almost everyone I have talked to about their polling place has said that it is very close by. So maybe Ohio’s polling places are more accessible than most, so this is less of an issue?

  64. First hand account from a blogger on Wes Clark’s site re the Ft. Worth rally. I can see why Fox news said that she had huge, huge crowds today. I hope that this portends well for Tues. Looks like 10-13k at the Ft. Worth Rally today for Hill.

Hillary Rally in Fort Worth, Texas

Submitted by Defoliate Bush on March 1, 2008 – 5:40pm.
    Firsthand Accounts

    What a great day today!!!

Got to the Fort Worth Stockyards area at 8:50am this morning for the Hillary rally that was scheduled for 11:00 and was relatively early in line. The pictures shown later will show that I was able to get a prime location for the speech (choosing to stand for a closer view rather than sitting on some bleachers that were around the stage). By the time the TSA starting letting people through the metal detectors, it was around 10:45 am and the line stretched several blocks down the street (Fort Worth Police were estimating the crowd at more than 13,000). I hope the people that showed up later weren’t too disappointed, but I did hear some rumbling later about some of them not being able to hear much (let alone see much).

Also, dumbass (me) failed to load the CF card in my nice digital camera so that was about 50 shots that were being recorded to nothing; HOWEVER, “the shot” of the day I got on my iPhone and is included later. Another thing that I wasn’t thinking about is that one of the chemo drugs I was on (finished a few days ago) is 5-FU which causes some additional skin sensitivity to the sun which really hasn’t been a problem this fall and winter; however, my face is a bit sunburned right now as the sun came out around noon and the temps were in the mid 70s.

We had a mariachi band providing some good entertainment for those near the stage interspersed with some cheerleading from some of the campaign organizers (including a UT Austin student who gave a nice talk).

    http://img220.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img0148gt7.jpg

Here is a photo of the crowd in the bleachers just in back of the stage with the opposite end where these people are facing being block upon block of people down the street. If you look at the picture, you’ll get an idea of the demographics…heavily female and good Hispanic representation. Henry Cisneros was also among those who were accompanying Hillary and he is still very much admired especially in the Hispanic community.

    http://img220.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img0154ia3.jpg

We were told that early voting totals in Tarrant County (home of Fort Worth) had something like 100,000 votes with 56% being female and 70% of those being over age 50 (if I’m remembering my numbers correctly). Anyways, early voting at least would tend to favor Hillary in this county.

After the introductions, Hillary came up upon the stage after being escorted in via a side street entrance. I’m sure that her staff had told her how many people were there, but getting up on the stage was her first glance at the crowd. I’m pretty sure that I picked up “Oh My God!” by doing a bit of lip reading, but she really looked happy up there (and looking really good with the yellow jacket and black slacks). She did sound just a bit hoarse, but that is certainly understandable.

The following photo has a bit of extra significance for those wondering “Where’s the Beef?” when evaluating the various candidates. I thought it was appropriate to see the steer sign hanging from the nearby steakhouse in the same photo as our candidate making her case.

    http://img220.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img0163gq8.jpg

As some of you who read my Bill Clinton account from a few days ago might be aware of, there was one additional signature I wanted in a book I was carrying. Here is the result of this effort:

    http://img220.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img0173so6.jpg

As Hillary was about to sign it (I had handed it to a staffer), she asked “whose book is this??”. Well I waved my hand and said “right here” and she gave a thumbs-up sign just before signing it.

Right after this signing, I got this photo from my iPhone which I consider “the shot” of the day, so I’m not really that disappointed about the photos I lost on the other camera.

  65. mj ,
Don’t know. They say that they have fewest volunteers in this district. Will press on this tomorrow.

  66. OK . SUM1 SEND THIS IDEA TO THE HILLARY CAMPAIGN.

RENT 15-30 SHUTTLE BUSES FOR ONE DAY ON TUESDAY AND STICK GIANT “VOTE HILLARY” POSTERS ON ALL OVER THEM. HAVE THEM PICK PEOPLE UP AT MAJOR STOPS ONLY IF THEY SUPPOTR AND ARE GOING TO VOTE FOR HILLARY.

In TEXAS, it’d prbbly take 100 buses. lol

  67. MJS, that’s a good idea. Use the bus stops as a meet location. Tell hill supporters to go to the bus stops. Old ladies travel by bus for the most part as it is.

  68. Renting some suvs or vans might be worth the cost, if it increases the GOTV. The campaign must know the demographics of the cities, perhaps, concentrating resources in those areas would be worth it.

  69. mjs, I think it’s illegal to do what you are suggesting. I could be wrong but I don’t think the campaign can pay for things like that. I believe it has to be totally voluntary.

No kidding, spacegirl. The they say “no. the media is not too hard on her. It’s all her fault.”
    ******************************

Actually, MJ, on my way to the mall, I caught a bit of Fox after 6pm and they were discussing Hill’s comment on the debate about getting the first question first and whether the media has been too hard on her and biased…Kristen ? and the lady college professor both agreed that she was correct although her SNL didn’t go over very well, The male host cited a study that came out that affirmed that she always gets the first question first and both ladies said that he as the frontrunner should be getting harsher scrutiny t and that he is not. Kristin brogught up how Hillary was savaged for weeks by her Drivers license answer and that the very next debate, BO did the same and nobody went after him. She said it was a double standard. Fox was pretty good on this topic for her.

Also, earlier in the day, the Fox host Jarrod ? kept dipping in to Hillary’s rallies in TX and he kept saying that she was getting huge, huge crowds. I caught a bit of BO in RI, his meeting or townhall was very quiet and not as hugely attneded as Hillary’s last week in RI. His OH event tonight also looked as if it was samller. I’m not sure if that was a townhall in OH or what.

  71. hillary must have buses etc ready tues. obama will guys. i think we in houston got some vans etc for the elderly places. call the austin headquarters and make sure u speak t someone of authority.

  72. the campaign finance laws are pretty strict when it comes to how one spends their money. again I could be wrong. as far as excluding BHO from a bus voters thats tricky too. it’s kinda like when you register people to vote, you can’t exclude those other than your candidate.

  73. i think volunteers will pick up this challenge, I know on election day there is a priority given to those that needed a ride.

  74. how many volunteers are there going to be in Ohio and TExas? I hope MULTITUDES of them (for Hillary) of course.

  75. MJ: the phone number is a great idea! people call, it is voluntary, and volunteers can pick them up. If they concentrate in specific areas and times, the resources will go further. I wish I could go.

  76. I will be volunteering to make calls tomorrow at a local campaign office (not in OH) and I will be sure to ask about rides.

  77. Or how about Hillary dishes out “Hil-passes” 😀 for all voters who don’t have a ride, she can give them “tickets” fromt he bus stop to the voting center 🙂 prepaid of course 😉

  78. Armenian president declares a state of emergency. Do people seriously think that Obama can handle all of this?

  79. Wait, soeome said earlier he will be in RI until Monday night. And, the AP has that headline: Obama’s only event today, slams rival, so was he in OH tonight or is that a rerun?

  80. I think they have 100k volunteers in TX. I read that somewhere. Not sure about OH. Strickland said he wishes Hill would do a rally in one of the big cities. I think she should. Is she scheduled to?

  81. mj, I don’t know exactly, but I know Texas has more Latinos and African Americans than whites (majority minority state)

  82. Have you guys watches these MO’s video on “fear bomb”?
    youtube.com/watch?v=xyIG8BIvqI0
    youtube.com/watch?v=Mg3m_YFNSAA

  83. What’s goin on in Armenia jr? Does it have anything to do with Putin’s government or just problems in T’blisi?

  84. mj, texas population according the almanac of american politics 2006, 22.4 million total people, 2.4 million blacks(11%), 6.7 million hispanics(32%),10.9 million whites(52%)

  85. I hope they are polling Republicans in these TX/OH polls. I don’t want to find out Tuesday that all these Repubs came out like in VA.

  86. mj, remember a lot of undocumented hispanics in texas also. not able to vote but still a huge advantage for hillary.

  87. Remember how some early voting exists had Hill winning the Repub vote, do you think that’s because of latinos registered Repub crossing over to vote for her. Latinos vote much more on the person than the Party.

  88. jubjub: I don’t know, if I can look at that woman.

So, Hillary has a 100K volunteers in Texas?

    OHIO: from http://www.hillaryclinton.com

03/02: Solutions for America Rally in Cleveland with Hillary Clinton
03/03: Solutions for America Rally in Toledo with Hillary Clinton

  89. no problem mj. so much for obamabots calling us hillfans uniformed. i have like a lot of almanacs of american politcs from 1982 to 2006. i can give anybody the percentage of every presidential election in the last 60 or so years i think becuase i study presidential politics so much.

  90. Oh good, Cleveland and Toledo. has she gone to Columbus at all? Looking at the stats I’m having a hard time figuring out how they are even in TX, unless he has a slight advantage among white voters.

That’s how it looked to me! At the time I thought Hillary maybe should have made him take the question and show how ignorant he was. But she was too honest and preferred to educate the voters instead.

  93. I heard she’s doing an 88 counties in 88 hours bus tour of Ohio. So maybe she’s hitting up the entire friggin state? That seems crazy.

  94. not sure mj. also arg poll has hillary tied with obama in texas 47%. ohio hillary 51% to obama’s 44%. i know arg is not the best this year but it is a trend. also hillfans rumor has it hillary is on saturday nigh live tonite in a few minutes!! stay tuned to nbc.

  95. Serioulsy, is e winning the white vote in TX, because the polls make no sense given the demos Terron gave.

  96. Oh no, arg. They are supposed to be favorable to Hill. Yikes. I hope she is doing better in TX than that.

  97. holy crickets Bill is going to be ALL over the friggin place. Its like Billy Does Texas. Go Bill.

  98. I think Texas is difficult to poll, so I wouldn’t put faith in any polls. There are millions of undocumented people, there are plenty of republican tricksters, there are people that will not go vote and/or caucus, there are just too many problems.

  99. ARG said HRC was gonna win Iowa, they are almost always wrong so, again, I don’t want to even hear about ARG y’all. I skipped a bar crawl to watch SNL. I have been on one Thursday, and last night, so I have had enough drinky drinky for a weekend.

    ITS ON!

  100. I have another 3 hours until SNL. And I was going to go out. I might just stay in and say I’m sick.

  101. This was simply amazing. Last week’s skit took on CNN. Tonight’s skit is directly an attack on Brian Williams and Tim Russert. This is an NBC show taking on their own Big Media blowhards. We have never seen anything like this.

  102. I thought it was funny! It is okay that they made fun of her because they made her look like the brainiac that she is, and they made it clear that the press feeds him answers and that he copies her.

  103. I don’t know qbout the rest of you, but every damn night I dream about this rimary!

  104. She showed she can take a joke, I do not think Bambi will be very happy about his portrayal. They will raise the white guy thing again.

  105. the skit was funny but sadly realistic. back to back weeks msnbc and big meida is getting kicked in the teeth with this obama lovefest and anti-hillary garbage.

  106. Ok folks….

Hillary is really my hero and she is FUNNY FUNNY FUNNY and America just doesn’t even get to see it

  107. Yeah, but Terron, as my hubby said, when you do truth with humor it resonates. i thought it was great. they made Obama look like a dolt, and her look like a brain. Truth with humor.

  108. Did she appear WITH Amy Poehler? I heart Amy sosososo much. Almost as much as I heart her husband

  109. lol, it did made obama look like a bafoon!! i love it. finally he is not getting a free ride anymore! hillfans, im looking forward to pumkinhead russert on mtp sunday for reactions.

  110. I dreamt I found my stolen coat, and last night I went to where I lost it and found it with my stuff still in it.

  111. Tiny, they were standing next to eachother and jokin around, then Hill did the “Live from NY it’s Saturday Night!”

  112. It’s ok, they had to make fun of her. It’s a comedy show. But they also made her seem like the brilliant one, and Obama seem like nothing more than a media creation, and a boring not so bright one at that.

  113. You’re always here, Spacegirl. It really looks like you never sleep! Oh, God, i’m getting so nervous and it’s only Sunday super early morning.

  114. Terron, I know. It was so awesome! How could they have done that debate that way after the media had already been spoofed? They set themselves up for this one.

  115. I speak Spanish. And for some reason, when i wanted to make calls last week-end, I never got any calls assigned!

  116. Thanks Hawk!

I love it that they spoofed themselves.

I have a few more hours. I think I’ll go out and just record it.

  117. Hillary was great on snl…..especially the part where she spqeezed in ” why, what’d you hear?’…lol

  118. SpacegirlArt,

Neither do I – at least I try not to, but I heard it on the grapevine. You know how they cannot take their ‘idol’ being trashed. 😉

  119. Thanks Emmy

I am not sure how you can be specifically assigned to Spanish calls, although we really need that. Call the Campaign HQ and ask them. I know when I am calling from the predictive dialer, we indicate spanish and I presume those calls are returned by a Spanish speaker.

I just had a a little mission I needed Hawk for in Spanish.

  120. It will be on YouTube until NBC/Universal complains that it needs to be removed because of copyright infringement…. blahblahblah.

  121. I’d put it up tonight but my computer is totally in the tank for Obama. Plus it’ll get taken down in 2.5 seconds. NBC will have official vids up, they won’t pass up the ad clicks they’d get from having Sen. Clinton on their site.

  122. SpacegirlArt,

Been around awhile…before Iowa. Just not an overactive poster. But thanks nonetheless!

  123. Obama the dirty trickster, shooting blow darts into Brian Williams. Sending jesse jackson on a wild goose chase. He realizes bambi is a fraud and says we are being bamboozled.

  124. Obamabots aren’t going to like the TV Clubhouse cartoon on SNL…portrays Obama as ignorant and a manipulating politician. Interesting they showed it so early in the show. Sometimes they don’t air those until later on in the program…

  125. I hope it will be on tomorrow.
i’ve gotta go to bed. It’s 1 a.m. here. (I’m going to try to make calls tomorrow. I don’t care if they are in English or Spanish.)

Good night, y’all! i’ll probably dream of the primary again (SIGH).

  126. Regarding the cartoon: expect Jesse Jackson and Sharpton to be calling Obama tomorrow and asking why they are not getting podium time. Jackson and Sharpton don’t like to look like fools and now a big TV show is portraying them as Obama dupes. That cartoon outed Obama as a lowlife.

  127. AH! I was wondering about the time zone, and I used to live in Saint Thomas. Only place I could think of!

Well…sleep well and thanks for your help!

  128. I turned it off! Did they really take such a huge shot at him? That’s amazing….I only fear it means they will take a big shot at Hill next week, but no problem, she can handle it.

  129. I’m in CA, so I haven’t seen it, yet. I usually don’t stay up that late, LOL, but I will tonight. Hillary is my HERO. Thanks for the great information.

  130. Ah…it’s been years since i have been there but still have an ex-partner there who has a great restaurant

  131. Admin, similar comments are being echoed on other boards. That cartoon was really a direct shot..love it!

  132. Wow, Spacegirl, that’s great. Well, good night for real. I’m so addicted to this site it’s hard to go, but i will.

  133. They used the word “bamboozled” for a reason. Because it is a sham that Obama used that divisive speak in SC, lifted from a freaking movie, to discourage folks from voting for Hill, and NO ONE reported it.

  134. They’ve taken shots at both Clintons for yeeeaaaarrrrs. And the Bushes and well anyone in politics (Dana Carveys Bush Sr was amazing). Obama folks better get used to it, especially if he’s prez, he’ll be target #1.

  135. Went to the womens event at Momo’s here in Austin and heard the legendary Gloria Steinem speak, blew the crowd away; “Remember, Clinton haters, Hillary haters … hate. We wouldn’t want them. They would turn on us eventually.” Very moving. Spoke against Hillary dropping out. Another prominent African American woman said, “I’m voting my race, the Human Race.” Lots of mention of Ann Richards, her freinds and family spoke, and whose spirit was very much in the room, very much.

I’ll never forget tonight, exhausted. I have my ticket for Hillary on Monday.

Funny picture of very bearish me, with big black beard, and a pink “Girls night out” shirt that was for the event and then standing next to Gloria!

  136. Just saw SNL. They really made Timmy and NBC look like arses. Hillary was great! She looked good in her asbestos pants suit and her lines didn’t seem forced.

BTW, the skit with BO, Jessie and Al was spot on and had me in stitches. It is so obvious that he is keeping them at arms lengths so that he is not labeled as the Black canidate. Hillarious!

  137. TD, right you are! Maybe he can have a new kind of POLITICS but he will have no control over humor, or commentary or art

  138. The President is always a source of jokes on SNL – and for comedy in general. It goes with the territory.

The idiot president jokes do have a life of their own with Bush jr. though.

  139. wow, that cartoon really rings true. jackson sr supposed to be this big obama supporter but i hardly see him on the trail fir him. and sharton is kinda a low key obamabot. watch obamabots complain about the cartoon though.

  140. CAVEMAN!!!

    WHAAAAAAA

    HOW MUCH FUN WAS THAT!

I am so jealous. I am glad you had a great time! If you get to see Hillary, give her a big IN IT TO WIN IT from Big Pink!

  141. admin, could we please get the clip of the cartoon? — I kind of watched only the last half of it and I think it was pretty damning for Obama.

  142. Cartoon spoof was priceless. In other words, Sharpton and Jackson make fools out of themselves, and are the laughing stock of politics for falling for the race card bait started by the Obamabots. Obama can’t get far enough away from them, dressing Sharpton in a shock collar, and planting Jackson in a remote outback setting. Obama tricks them into thinking he cares about them (Blacks) while he and his team are laughing at them the way Bush laughed at the Evangelicals behind their back. In spite of denials by Obama, the perception by the public is that Jacson and Sharpton are just two stool pigeons who give allegiance to the wrong person in this political election. What idiots to abandon the Clintons – the only ones who really give a damn about their plight. Priceless.

  143. Good evening! I just watched the SNL skit, after taping it while I made a quick run to the store. I’m sooooo glad I did. I didn’t know she was going to be on. My eyes got a little teary I was so happy to see her on there smiling and looking vibrant. Hillary is the 44th president of the USA.

  144. My dvd ran out so I wasn’t able to record the cartoon, but it came on JUST as I was walking in the door. So, I got a great laugh from that and then watched the debate skit. I’ll sleep well tonight! 🙂

  145. “If he can win one or both of the Texas or Ohio primaries on Tuesday, he is expected to wrap up the Democratic nomination – ”

    Ummmm….
did anyone ask Hillary about this?

    Media sucks

  146. hi guys! just got home in time to see the cartoon…. omg! can only imagine the racism bs shot at us tomorrow? surely they’ll be looking for a nepotismic r/ship btw lorne michaels and the clintons…. do you think this will help us or hurt us????

p/s anything BIG happen today? ive been outta the loop!

  149. How long until Saturday Night Live and/or the Letterman/Leno/O’Brien shows start doing skits of Obama/Rezko? Once the trial starts and more people become acquainted with the, thus far never heard of Rezko story, the comics will have a field day.

Anyone have emails for writers on these shows? Maybe we can get some skit ideas to them. We have a lot of Hollywood people reading here (you guys know who you are – some of you are rather famous and during the writers strike you came here in droves) so consider this the planting of the seed.

Get to writing guys – Rezko.

  150. Obama is thinking of having Chuck Hegal and Richard Luger in his cabinet.. want’s Republicans as well as Democrats

  151. To Terrondt: What I would like to know is the % of registered Democrats that AA make up and the same question for Hispanics?

Even though AA make up ~11% of the total population in Tx, how many make up the total pool of AA Democratic registered voters and the same for Hispanics?

  152. Yeah, so? Hill would have Repubs in her admin too. This is just to get Repubs to vote for him in Texas. What fools Dem’s are who vote for this guy.

  153. Diva, “zebra cabinet” (LOL) I think that’s what he wants…remember he also said something about wanting Swartzenegger in his cabinet too.

  154. Workers of the world unite!

    READ THIS

    Camarades:
Most of yesterday and today I have been making calls to TX, and found late today that we are in a very very tight corner in TX, and OH especially, I want to appeal to all our camarades to come to the support of all our trenches fighting. We cannot come this far, and letit slip. Please recruit at least five other supports persons and let them do same so we can close it once and for all by Tuesday night. Thanks to all camarades, and please remember all of us in your prayers. From Benny Ambrose

  155. Dang Birdgal! Look at Hill and Bill’s schedule for tomorrow and Monday. No one can say that the Clinton’s aren’t hard workers. Poor Bill. He did so many events today, 5 rallys in TX Sunday and Monday, wow! HE’s really working hard for her to pull TX out.

I hope that he has great turnout at all of his stops.

  156. Have nothing against moderate Republicans in cabinet positions. However, in my personal opinion, Senator Luger…well…sucks.

  157. LMAO!!!

When a blogger said “Why wont the MSM report this” Talking about a 500 person GOTV Vote today in ohio

    the answer was…….

    are ya ready……..

“THey don’t report any thing good for Obama! “

  158. @space… you gonna stay up??? i’m trying to figure out where we are right now… can you give me the cliff’s notes on whats happened today?

  159. spacegirlart, that does not sound good for us! I expected texas to be tight, but I am surprised Ohio has gotten so tight. Especially since that is not the feeling I have gotten while doing calls…

  160. Wait, space, I am confused…was that a call for Hillary supporters because we are too tight, or a call for Obama supporters because they are afraid they will lose both (I hope, I pray, that they do).

  161. Chuck Hagel and Richard Lugar are two conservative SOB’s. If I were Richardson, I’d wonder where I was going to fit into this picture.

  162. these are priceless!

(I wont do too many more, I promise)

Up to this past week, I would agree with coverage of Obama. And even now the coverage hasn’t been bad, but to me, it seems as if CNN and MSNBC have gone overboard in reaction to seeming to be too Obama friendly by constantly showing or discussing Clinton.

It seems as if it has been all about what she can do to get ahead, why she should be the one against the Republicans, how effective her new phone ad has been, etc. Each time I have switched to the shows today, they have been showing Clinton.

What happen to just giving equal time period? It is like they are now salivating for her to be the new “comeback kid.”

  163. Yeah, Lugar sucks. I would only be able to deal with Hagle, and I cannot even think of others right now……..

  164. Spacegirl: I LOVE IT. The Obamabots are delusional, if they think the coverage has been more fair for Clinton.

Was that “call to comrades” from the Obamabots, or a message to you from Hillary supporters?

  165. i would be able to deal with McCAin in a cabinet position so long as its something like foreign policy…and not something like war…..:shudders:

  166. As for Rebulicans, I like both of Maine’s female Senators.

However, they do get called RINOs all the time…so that maybe why! 🙂

  167. thanks spacegirl i wanna ya to read or some of ya because i have a hard time over there bho site, there weirdos..i bet monday hes mia
i think she has the momentum…

  168. It may be time to REALLY START organizing in Michigan, just in case:

“My scenario if Barack wins TX but narrowly loses OH, Hillary doesn’t drop out.

Barack would be up by about 170 pledged delegates due to the favorable result in TX.

The DNC should ask Barack if he wants to participate in a Caucus in Michigan – this would not be a repeat since MI only had a primary that didn’t count (just like WA has both a primary and a caucus).

Barack should accept and Hillary would have no choice since the SD would threaten to go to Barack if she didn’t agree to it. The MI Caucus should be in early April to break up the 6 week delay before the PA primary. (FL would be set aside to decide later since it would be much more expensive)

Naturally Obama would easily win a MI caucus and gain about 60 pledged delegates. The momentum would allow him to win PA (it wouldn’t even be a must win). The result is that Hillary would have to drop out at some time before the end of April. Barack wouldn’t even need so many SD since the DNC could just count FL (Barack had about 40% of the vote) and that would put Barack over 2025 – contest over in April!!

However, this all depends on winning TX.

  169. admin.i bet they all can do ..get this guys to do…spacegirl..mj and mjs..oh and idunn.. get your skits ready for rezko..lol..
there coment;s make me laugh mj those sobs hagel and lugar..lmao..

bad news folks….Bots are lying to Ohio Households about NAFTA

Liza, check the “Know the Facts”/Fact Check section of the Site.

Yes, this has been refuted and responded to.

However, I just heard the same thing that you did on CNN. They are still talking about this manufactured issue–clearly another HRC campaign ploy. We can only hope that folks in Ohio and Texas have been paying attention to the DIRTY tactics made by HRC’s camp, and that they see right though it.

When we call folks in Ohio, we need to make sure that they know the FACTS on this issue.

  173. Mangomist3, the feeling is very determined, very hopeful, very spirited. There’s a sense that a core group of people are mostly passionate one way or the other and a few slim group of undecideds are our focus now.

It’s hard going, but not hopeless at all.

  174. It is strange that Richardson is appearing with Dodd (an O supporter) and Bayh (an H supporter)….isn’t it? Richardson really annoys me, he is SUCH an opportunist. All I have to say is since he previously said he would vote the way his state went, it would REALLY annoy me if he endorse O…but why on earth would he appear with supporters of both?

  175. I didn’t get the part when the man swung her around in her chair and was in her face. What was that about?

  176. predicting 10-15% lead in Texas and 15+% lead in Ohio.

however, GOTV is the most important atm. If Obama out GOTVs us, we’re screwed.

  177. I their dreams…..

“I want to maintain a courteous attitude toward Hillary because I have a feeling her supporters are going to be joining us here soon and we want to make them feel welcome in this big Obama tent!”

  178. Spacegirl, I hope the McCain tent is stretchable, cuz that’s where I’m heading to if Obama gets the nod!

  179. MJS, what is that prediction based on? anything? I predict a good win in Ohio, more than 5 percent, but have NO idea about Texas.

  180. tiburones
he was an actor from one of the law and order programs criminal intent. a very intense actor

  181. monkeybusiness, I don’t like to lose and I’m ready to take to the mat for Hillary to win this thing against this fraud! lol

  182. I’m not a big Howard Stern fan, but apparently he’s a HUGE Hillary supporter and he’s been giving her a lot of love. We should send him stuff too. I haven’t listened to his show in forever, but here are a couple of email addresses for them too:

    Lisa G–lisa@lisag.com
General email address for them all: sternshow@howardstern.com

  183. tiburones, it’s a poof on law and order, but the idea is that they interrogate her in these debates.

  184. Timjcain, but I didn’t get his purpose. What was his lines about.

MJS: The races aren’t going to be blow outs. I think that whoever wins, they will be slim wins.

  185. I predict a comfortable win for Hillary in OHIO, TEXAS, and RHODE ISLAND. Obama will take VERMONT. The story line on Wednesday would be Democrats having second thoughts about Obama and his inability to win big states in spite of his money and TV advertising advantage, establishment and media support.

  186. Mwahhh Spacegirl! I was telling one of my fellow Hillary supporters earlier today that I want to be able to celebrate on Tuesday night!!! I’m tired of those Obamazoids being able to have all the fun!

  187. I don’t like to lose and I’m ready to take to the mat for Hillary to win this thing against this fraud!

You expressed all of our feelings with that!

  188. @caveman…. first of all… you sexy beast!!!! do you even know how jealous i am???? omg!!! if you can get me one of those shirts, i will pay you major dineros and you can use it to fund your trip to texas!!! let me know!!! gawd…i am loving you for being there and hating you bc i’m not there too!!!! “schizo love fest”!!!! damn!

could you stop repeating what Obamabots are saying? — there is a reason why we don’t go reading those there.

  190. TPS,

The story line on Wednesday would be Democrats having second thoughts about Obama and his inability to win big states in spite of his money and TV advertising advantage, establishment and media support.

I think that will be a stretch (a welcome one though 🙂 ). After all, it is the media…

  191. wonder how many ads he’ll place on oprah’s big give sunday night. they expect the show to be huge

  192. Sure pm – whatever

I was just wanting to share a little insight into what they said and thought. It is GOOD to have you opponents emotions and strategies available to learn.

  193. Alright, I’m off to bed. I’m going to try to donate those platelets again with this thin blood of mine. Last time, two days before the primary here in Maryland, I wore my Hillary t-shirt to the Red Cross office and the Hispanic guy who was processing me, whispered, “Me too,” and pointed at my shirt. Then, we started chatting it up about Hillary!! It was hilarious! Then, when they found out my iron was too low, I was getting ready to leave and he said, “No. No. Go sit in here and have some juice and snacks,” and he winked at me. He wanted me to sit in there with my bright, well-ironed Hillary shirt to advertise! I winked back at him and obliged. 🙂 Celebrations on Tuesday everybody. Celebrations. You guys have a good evening.

  194. Thanks Reed…

I am dumbfounded by the cult like atmosphere. It really IS like the moonies or the Hale Bop crowd.

    Sweetness and Light

OMG THAT is the name of the track back site for the Obama as a sushi chef picture was! I just remembered! The original scan!

  195. to all…. concensus please… we are ALL boycotting oprah’s show sunday night! RIGHT?????? she needs to get the message that she does not choose the next messiah! we can do that by NOT watching her “next BIG GIVE!” obambi was her first “BIG GIVE” and look at where we are bc of that! we need to send a message!!!

  196. Hi everyone, I dissapeared for two days because I was moving. I moved from Pennsylvania across the State Line (40 minute drive) to Delaware. Just donated 300.44 to make up for whatever I missed in the last 48 hours.
Question: I am a new Citizen and this is the first time I can vote. Have I disenfranchised myself from voting in the primary by moving from a state that has not yet voted to one that has already? Or can I still vote in Pennsylvania as long as I do not register (yet) to vote in Delaware?

  197. Thanks Sugar. The American people are going to wonder why they never heard of Rezko until now, at this late date.

Wannabe comedy writers: get your skit ideas to the emails Sugar has so generously provided. Very polite suggestions can also be made to air the Rezko situation on comedy shows because the network “news” divisions are not informing the American public.

Sad days indeed when we have to rely on comedy shows to provide news and news shows to provide comedy.

We’ll skip Baby Bash’s Suga Suga and instead dedicate this one to Sugar:

  198. reed, I don’t disagree, but I think the worm is turning. The one thing the media hates ithe most is someone else (SNL for example) pointing out how biased they have been. In the last two weeks SNL has gone after CNN and MSNBC with a vengeance naming specific reporters. The media don’t like to be embarassed in this manner especially in front of a national audience. Shows like SNL have a huge impact on the conventional wisdom. If it is just the Hillary campaign or her supporters saying it, they can dismiss it as sour grapes. Now you have a powerful arm of the media saying the same thing but in a funny way. They can’t attack SNL and they can’t really respond to them. They will try to appear more fair (not that they will become fair). In the last three months, they had abandoned all pretensions of fairness. They will try to be a bit more subtle and try to be a bit more tough on Obama. Even a modest levelling of the playing field ought to help us.

  199. Diva, a client and friend of mine have been trying me to engage in thhat shit. First, I am TOTALLY over Oprah. Second, Eckhart Tolle is a bit too screwy for me. Third, my money goes to Hillary.

She said “Just buy the book!”

    I said no

    😀

  200. ADMIN!!!!!!

    HOWLING IN MY LIVING ROOM

    YOU ARE WAY TOO MUCH!!!!!!

    SUGAR!!!!! AWWW HONEY HONEY!!!

  201. I know none of us here (that I know of) are election lawyers, but did anyone have an opinion about my question above?

  202. mangomist
a reality show in which oprah challanges the contestants to positively effect lives not knowing that the winner will recieve one million. i believe each contestant was given 50k and a video recorder

  203. oprah is going to be on in the desperate housewives slot… so DONT watch!!!!

eva has come out endorsing and i think that could be big for us in san antonio and other places that she appears… i just really want to send a message that just bc her and her money endorse someone doesnt mean that we do!

    @space: i emailed you! =)

  204. devans, I think as long as you are registered in PA and not registered to vote in OHIO you should be able to go back and vote in PA. A lot of retirees who live in New York, PA, NJ and have a second home in Florida sent in their absentee ballots to where they were registered to vote or flew back to vote in the primaries. You should have no problems voting in PA this cycle.

  205. I LOVE that song! I know that is SO QUEER but I do!

    and on that night

    I am off to bed

    YOU GUYS ROCK!

    Mo Money for Hill tomorrow

  206. Yes, SpacegirlArt, my mail is being directed to my new address.
TPS, ok then I will go and vote in PA.
Thanks, glad to hear my vote will not be lost!

  207. @devans: vote!!! as far as i an remeber from my law school days… you still vote where your mail is going to at the time that your vote is cast. if someone knows diff, then let us know.

  208. Devan,
I am going to answer like I am in the Obama camp. Do not register in DE until after the PA primary. You can either vote in person in PA, but it will probaly be better to use an absentee ballot as long as you still get mail in PA or use someone elses address that you know in PA. If the election were in the next few weeks in PA you would not have a problem voting in person, but it is probably better to request an absentee ballot.

  209. Bill Richardson is on Face the Nation tomorrow AM. He better endorse Hillary or I’m getting out my can of whup ass, I swear!

  210. Ok, thanks. I typed up a longer response but it did not seem to get posted. Anyway, I will go and vote for Hillary. Thanks everyone.

  211. I would not trust bloomberg. he was a democrat, then a republica to run for mayor, then an indepenant.

  212. Lynn Sweet:

    http://blogs.suntimes.com/sweet/2008/03/sweet_clinton_surprise_saturda.html#more

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS–Saturday Night Live is the place to be for political action tonight.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) made a surprise visit to NBC’s Saturday Night Live show on Saturday, starring in a skit where she stood side-by-side in identical jackets with Amy Poehler, who plays her. “I simply adore Amy’s impression of me,” said Clinton as Poehler imitated her distinctive laugh.

“Do I really laugh like that?” Clinton said–with that laugh.

Poehler asked how’s the campaign going?

“The campaign is going very well. Very, very well. Why? What did you hear?”

Clinton–who left the Ohio campaign trail to fly to New York to get ready for the show–told Poehler “no politics. But I would like to take this opportunity to say to all Americans, be they from the great state of Ohio, or Texas or Rhode Island or Vermont, (All states voting on Tuesday) Pennsylvania…Live, from New York, it is Saturday Night!”

Clinton appeared after a sketch where Poehler portrayed her in a take-off of Tuesday’s Democratic debate in Cleveland where the SNL treatment made clear the writers thought that Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) was given powderpuff questions while Clinton was run over with a truck. During the debate, Clinton made reference to a SNL skit of last Saturday that dealt with media infautiation with Obama.

Clinton’s two minute skit was billed as an “editorial response”

Political satire contains an element of truth and in a cartoon, Obama was shown to be going to great lengths to prevent Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson from being seen campaigning for him. He is shown–remember this is a cartoon–meeting with Jackson in a broom closet before sending him off on a phoney diplomatic mission and putting a dog collar on Sharpton that zaps him if he gets to close to an Obama rally.

  213. One has to wonder if there had not been a writers strike if the comedy writers would have forced more scrutiny on obama and his minions.

  214. SpacegirlArt

theres an old saying ” keep your friends close, but your enemies closer”
the point is that knowing what they are up to helps one tacticly and strategically.

but it is hard sometimes to listen to those who are delusional.

  215. Thanks Divabunny, I didn’t catch your response until just now, I think I’m blurry eyed from exhaustion. I will try to get you a shirt, I think I can! SNL, Gloria Steinem, meeting that actor from ROME last night .. it’s so awesome being a HILLARY supporter!

  216. timjmcain, i do believe so…after SNL has made fun of the media TWICE for their doting on BO, I think they are going to be forced to give him more scrutiny. It is starting, NYTimes releases the first real Rezko article. The SNL skit did more to empower Hillary on this issue than all of the thousands of emails her supporters have written, etc. SNL turned the national media into a national joke and they have been forced to at least question whether there is a bias, though somehow, they also try to claim that it is all her fault…

  217. I think it would be even funnier if people start crying racism with regards to snl. they are definately equal opportunity offenders. And the part of the debate where they went on about forcing big interest to give up to just shut her up, was definately harsh almost brutal. but she took her punches. I think he got off pretty easy given all that they could have said.

  218. This verse describes Hillary perfectly. Just stay the course…

2 Tim 1:7 “For God did not give us a Spirit of timidity, but a Spirit of Power, of Love and of self-discipline

  219. I would also paraphrase Nietschze
Courage is not the absence of dispair but rather the ability to go on despite dispair

  220. “Political satire contains an element of truth and in a cartoon, Obama was shown to be going to great lengths to prevent Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson from being seen campaigning for him. He is shown–remember this is a cartoon–meeting with Jackson in a broom closet before sending him off on a phoney diplomatic mission and putting a dog collar on Sharpton that zaps him if he gets to close to an Obama rally.”

you missed it admin… re-watch the skit… obama dumped them AFTER he was president! that skit spoke to the exploitation of sharpton and jackson! the writers were making a point abt obama using the AA vote to get him elected, then AFTER he became prez he dumps the AAs in broomclosets and far off “missions”…. the writers got it right. unfortunately admin missed it… listen closely… the jesse and sharpton characters are calling him “PRESIDENT OBAMA” NOt “SENATOR OBAMA”… that changes the entire message of the skit!

obama IS USING black people to get elected and then he will forget them as is acted out in the skit.

  221. OMG! I just watched the last 20mins of Hillary’s rally in Ft. Worth Tx today. She and the crowd was very fired up. she continued to hit on BO just making a speech and comparing it to her actions. She also played alot to veterans and military fighting and how to give them what is due them i.e GI bill of rights, benefits, health care etc.

She ended with a call and response of ‘are you ready for uHC? the crowd, YEAH, are you ready for good paying jobs? are you ready to bring the troops home? are you ready to end the war in Iraq and win the war in Afghanistan?

As she jumped into the rope line, there was a raucous recital of the old army drill sargeant song that all soldiers going through Basic Training knows:

Everywhere we go, people want to know
    Who we are
    and who we stand for
    we tell them
    we stand for Hillary
    We stand for Hillary!

    It was very loud!
I don’t know there is something different in the air this time. She was energetic, smiling, on fire, the crowd was whipped (noticed lots of ‘we got your back Hillary). Contrast that to a somber looking, non-smiling BO today in RI and Ohio.

I can’t put my finger on it but somethings different and it seems good in a Clinton way!
    tiburones | 03.02.2008 – 02:00 am |

  222. @tib: i pray that you are right… you dont know how much i want this to be true… i honestly dont know how hillary does it… i’m exhausted, so i cant even imagine what she goes though for us… i honestly cant,

  223. divabunny
i don’t believe admin was erroneous in it encapsulization of the obama cartoon i just think they stopped short of the final message of bambi turning his back on the people that got him there. because he isn’t going to become prez. I can’t wait to watch it again considering the current climate that piece took guts. i am sure the will be inundated tomorrow with complaints by obamabots so if anyone has the address to which i/we could send our appreciation please share.

  224. @tim: i’m not criticisizing admin… i’m making a point that in the skit when jackson and sharpton were trying to “get to”obama, he was “out of reach” AND if you listen, they werent calling him “SENATOR OBAMA”, they were calling him “PRESIDENT OBAMA.” this spoke to his exploitation of AAs to get to the presidency and then forgetting them… sending them off on ridiculous “missions”… and the showing the fact that the only way for AAs to be heard was to disguise themselves as podiums (ie platforms) for him to use to build more “momentum.”

call me crazy, but all mu years of studying and working on campaigns gives me a jaded eye… maybe i’m seeing more than admin/ or than i’m supposed to. if i have offended admin or anyone else by pointing out these things, then forgive me in advance of my apology.

  225. divabunny
i agree with your interpretation of the piece completely. the podiums were hardly subtle choices. i loved the thing. I think the piece very much shows the frustration of the stifled writers. they must have been salivating for the last few months to do something like this.
I did not mean to criticize your post. it was a well written and orchastrated piece and the casual viewer at 12 am may only half hear it but what they hear was still critical of bambi

  226. Divabunny, no offense taken, especially since we did not write the review. What is interesting is that Sweet wrote the review so yesterday’s skit will get as much if not more attention than last week’s SNL skit.

We did not watch the skit closely at all and even missed a bit at the beginning. The impression to us was that it was Obama keeping Jackson and Sharpton from his campaign events. If you are right and they were calling Obama “president” that obscures things a bit but the main message stays the same.

The question we have is who reached for their phones to complain first: Jackson/Sharpton or Russert/Williams.

Jackson/Sharpton cannot be happy with the way they were portrayed (especially because now they know they everyone else has noticed how “under the rug” Obama has kept them).

Russert/Williams must be livid. Their own network’s entertainment show trashed them and worse – made it clear to millions that they were biased against Hillary and protecting their Big Media tool – Obama.

Will Russert complain to Lorne Michaels? What will Matthews and the other Obamatronics say? Anything? It’s a crisis in Big Media Land.

  227. obama has shown that he will say WHATEVER IT TAKES to get elected…. he’s a panderer… he’s pandered to the AAs when its helpen him. in the last 48 hrs hes pandered to the gays. he’s pandered to ohio and canada… he doesnt care… whoever, whenever, wherever.. whatever suits his purpose…. that should be his campaign slogan… actually that should be hillary’s comeback! (p.s. if anyone;s listening/reading… you have my permission to use that 😉

  228. BTW, thanks to tiburones and Ann and everyone else who has been keeping us informed of events in Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island and Vermont and Pennsylvania and elsewhere. Great stuff from all.

  229. as far as who complained first… thats a tough one… i say sharpton. he is the only one that thinks he matters at this point. jackson knows he’s irrelevant and russert and williams still need a paycheck…. its been a looooong time since lorne michaels gave a sh*t wht anyone thought.

  230. One last point divabunny, you wrote “obama IS USING black people to get elected and then he will forget them as is acted out in the skit.” Exactly right. But it is not only African-Americans, it’s everybody. That is what flim flam artists do. That is what con men do. They use people then dump them.

For months we have written that “community organizer” Obama let his so-called constituents freeze while he took money from slumlord Rezko. He used the people, mostly African-Americans, then dumped them. Same with Jackson/Sharpton and everyone else.

Karma will be when Big Media, which has flim flammed the American public by promoting Obama, decides to dump Obama.

  231. what is this i hear about the lgbt community moving towards bambi? At 41 i am well beyond hitting the bars but if that info needs to get out there i will do my part.

  232. hey admin… if youre giving “shout outs”… dont forget everyone else thats been doing their part… hawk, caveman ellen in tx … there are buncha ppl that are doing their part… space idunn and i kicked as on the nafta story (i’m still in an email war with a reporter from ohio… can send the correspondence demanding that he tell the WHOLE story to ohioans… dot, basil and myself emailing committed and uncommitted SDs… every single poster here has donated their asses off…. i am certain that all of us are all in the same littly dinghy holding on that no matter what happend on tuesday, that hillary will keep fighting for us… i am also sure that we are all in the same amazemnt that as tired as we all are, we all ask the same question…. H0W DOES SHE DO IT???? and i KNOW that HER tenacity is truly what keeps us going!

p/s it took me too long to write that post that i am not proofing it, i am smart, i do know how to spell, i am tired, so forgive the typos!)

Obama: A Thin Record For a Bridge Builder
    By David Ignatius

WASHINGTON — Hillary Clinton has been trying to make a point about Barack Obama that deserves one last careful look before Tuesday’s probably decisive Democratic primaries: If Obama truly intends to unite America across party lines and break the Washington logjam, then why has he shown so little interest or aptitude for the hard work of bipartisan government?

This is the real “where’s the beef?” question about Obama, and it still doesn’t have a good answer. He gives a great speech, and he promises that he can heal the terrible partisan divisions that have enfeebled American politics over the past decade. And this is a message of hope that the country clearly wants to hear.

But can he do it? The record is mixed, but it’s fair to say that Obama has not shown much willingness to take risks or make enemies to try to restore a working center in Washington. Clinton, for all her reputation as a divisive figure, has a much stronger record of bipartisan achievement. And the likely Republican nominee, John McCain, has a better record still.

Obama’s argument is that he can mobilize a new coalition that will embrace his proclamation that “yes, we can” break out of the straitjacket. But for voters to feel confident that he can achieve this transformation should he become president, they would need evidence that he has fought and won similar battles in the past. The record here, to put it mildly, is thin.

What I hear from politicians who have worked with Obama, both in Illinois state politics and here in Washington, gives me pause. They describe someone with an extraordinary ability to work across racial lines, but not someone who has earned any profiles in courage for standing up to special interests or divisive party activists. Indeed, the trait people remember best about Obama, in addition to his intellect, is his ambition.

Obama worked on some bipartisan issues, such as a state version of the earned-income tax credit, after he was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1996. But he also gained a reputation for skipping tough votes. The most famous example was a key gun-control vote that he missed in December 1999 because he was vacationing in Hawaii. The Chicago Tribune blasted him and several other vote-skippers as “gutless.” One Chicago pol says that “the myth developed that when there was a tough vote, he was gone.”

Obama’s brash self-confidence led him into his only big political blunder. Prodded by the Daley machine, he challenged Bobby Rush, an incumbent Democratic congressman and former Black Panther, in 2000. Rush pounded Obama by more than 2-1in the primary. “He was blinded by his ambition,” Rush told The New York Times last year.

Obama has been running for president almost since he arrived in the U.S. Senate in 2005, so his Senate colleagues say it’s hard to evaluate his record. But what stands out in his brief Senate career is his liberal voting record, not a history of fighting across party lines to get legislation passed. He wasn’t part of the 2005 “Gang of 14” bipartisan coalition that sought to break the logjam on judicial nominations, but neither were Clinton or other prominent Democrats. He did support the bipartisan effort to get an immigration bill last year, winning a plaudit from McCain. But he didn’t work closely with the White House, as did Sen. Edward Kennedy.

The Obama campaign sent me an eight-page summary of his “bipartisan accomplishments,” and it includes some encouraging examples of working across the aisle on issues such as nuclear proliferation, energy, veterans affairs, budget earmarks and ethics reforms. So the cupboard isn’t entirely bare. It’s just that, unlike McCain, Obama bears no obvious political scars for fighting bipartisan battles that were unpopular with his party’s base.

“The authentic Barack Obama? We just don’t know. The level of uncertainty is too high,” one Democratic senator told me last week. He noted that Obama hasn’t been involved in any “transformative battles” where he might anger any of the party’s interest groups. “If his voting record in the past is the real Barack Obama, then there isn’t going to be any bipartisanship,” this senator cautioned.

Voting for a candidate is always an act of faith — a belief that the politician will win a mandate that allows him to transcend his own past limitations and those of his party. Ronald Reagan taught the country something about the ability of a world-class communicator to create such a new political space that defies the previous categories.

No one who has watched Obama’s sweep toward the nomination would say it’s impossible that he can be the great uniter. I just wish we had more evidence.

  234. @tim: i am neither… i am law grad and worked in pharma sales for 10 yrs. lit prof??? where did that come from? i havent edited anyone here. why do you ask?

@admin: i know that he is exploiting everyone in this primary, but my post was specific to the snl skit.

  235. admin
    not worried about my liver
just grew out of the bar scene but if it means i go armed with literature about hill’s record and obamas with regaRDS TO LGBT CONCERNS I WILL
I HAVE ALREADY TAKEN THE fdny’S ENDORSEMENT TO EVERY FIREHOUSE I COULD FIND AND HAD IT EVER OCCURRED TO ME THAT THE LGBT COMMUNITY WAS DEFECTING I WOULD HAVE TAKEN ACTION SOONER. SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS didn’t realize i had hit the key.

  236. Divabunny, thanks for the additions to our “shout outs”. Everyone on Big Pink is working hard and getting things done one way or the other- with calls, donations, travel to battleground states, reports and information, email campaigns, and communications to other websites/superdelegates in defense of Hillary.

This website has always been a “No Whine Zone”. Lately it is turning into a sort of Pink Aircraft Carrier with wave after wave of fighter jets leaving the deck to battle for Hillary.

It’s been a long time since we inaugurated more fighters into the “Hall of Fame”. We’ll have to do another installation post soon.

  237. @tim… when i heard of the “defection” and barry soetoro’s pandering, i sent this link to all of the lbgt sites and blogs.

    noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/02/29/as-god-is-my-witness-obama-snubs-newsom-gays/

i got replies from some and mostly they said that they had already covered the story, so i asked them to run again since he was pandering w/his ads in advocate and his “open letter” on his site. let me know if you have any luck.

  238. divabunny
i meant the english prof or an attorney as a compliment. you watched the cartoon and saw the message. i may be wrong but i think most people are very passive when it comes to media and information. i cannot count the number of times over the last six months that i have spent hours explaining to people that obama had zero to do with voting for or against the war in Iraq but all they hear are the sound bites. you obviously pay attention to language and its meaning i intended it as a compliment.

  239. @admin… love the analogy of the aircraft carrier….so “right on” with whats been going on! think theres def been a sense of urgency and you can truly see how ppl are willing to so whatever it takes!

  240. Diva
i will post but i will also pound the pavement with the facts
if bambi is putting ads on gay sights it might prove difficult as people believe what they read but i will do what i can

  241. @tim: thank you very much… i did my thesis on mass media influence on presidential elections, so it is most def a compliment now that you explained your post. when i graduated it was before al gore invented the internet (hee hee) so things have changed significantly since then… when i started my analysis it was on the first televised debate btwn jfk adn nixon and the biggest dirty trick was kennedy knowing that nixon was a profuse “sweater” so kenndy kept asking for the lights to be turned up “so he could see”….kennedy knowing all along that when someone sweats when asked a question, it makes them look nervous and untrustoworthy… oh i could go on and on.. it as very different when it was non partisan and sponsored by the league of women voters… it a new world now…. and i’m not even old! only inmy thirties, but have seen teh shift…. it scares the hell out of me.

  242. All is not lost with the GLBT community in Texas

A few good articles about Hillary, although if the poll about caucusing is correct or even close to being correct that 68% plan on attending their caucus, Hillary has to get all the GLBT community on her side.

    http://www.dallasvoice.com/

  243. The media finally sees the danger of an Obama presidency. Slowly some of them are trying to undo what they’ve done. TX is scaring me but I feel confident about Ohio. But a win in TX no matter how small, we change the narrative for Hillary.

These republicans that he encourages to become democrats for a day, are the problem. He knows they will abandon him for McCain but he’s to selfish to care.

If somehow he manages to get the nomination, we have to defeat him. John McCain is a republican but he’s honorable and he’s a good man, unlike Obama. He’s basically moderate playing to the far right. I trust him more than Obama. Democrats are going to gain about 5 senate seats so any judges will have to be negotiated with us.

If Obama loses the general election after not waiting his turn, the democrats will destroy him. He’ll be a pariah and loser like Kerry.

    keep it up
obviously msm will not point out discrepencies so its up to people like you
i have a Question– do you think that when bambi is asked a difficult question and he stammers he is actually giving his followers the opportunity to fill in the blanks themselves. he has said he is a blank page on which people project thier own opinions and as such couldn’t the stammering be away of continuing that. we are how many months into the primary and even his biggest propenents can’t tell you anything about him? how through all of these debatres has hwe been able to maintain this illusion?

  245. And would it be a counterproductive idea for me to post on craigslist in all of the major cities voting tomorrow with a list of requisite qualifications for the job of pous. If someone else wants to do it go ahead i only sugesst that you add experience only need apply.

i like hearing- no i need to hear that it is not just me who beomes disconcerted at the tempo of his voice. i went to purdue/temple and hunter college and to my dismay so many of the people i respect and grew up with are debating hill — bambi. they are for the most part granola but not stupid and thier inability to choose i believe stems from the fact that they are truly ignorant of the issues they are busy people who read a paper on thier way to/from work and maybe catch the 7 oclock news once a week and all they hear is pro-bambi anti hillary. they are the latte liberals but i believe if they heard the truth they would go hill’ but how do you get the truth to them. email me if you have any suggs timjcain@yahoo.com

imagine what you can list under benifits.

  257. Combined from my Taylor Marsh posts:
Ummm… I think I need to point out that this is not a strong election issue for any candidate in this election. Any re-negotiation of NAFTA with Canada at this point in time would be a losing proposition for the USA. The weak US dollar coupled with extremely strong Oil (and commodity prices in general) gives Canada the upper negotiating hand.
Do not take my comment as a negative against Hillary. I am a strong Hillary supporter. I think that this is another (complex) issue that has been ‘glossed over’ by the MSM.
Ok, sorry to harp about this issue, but as a new American Citizen with Canadian origin I need to point out another thing: The ORIGINAL NAFTA Trade Agreement was between USA and Canada. As a Canadian Citizen ( at that time) I was extremely dismayed when the
USA included Mexico in an amendment. Canada and the USA have much more similar Employee safety and Union laws, compared to Mexico.

  258. never been to mexico but i worked with many individuals who were paid 100 per day to work 14 hrs without any benifits or matching social security/medicaid taxes paid to gov’t so i must ask if these american employers had to pay an equitable wage to a legal emplyee would not the loss of jobs by nafta have been offset to a degree. 30 emplyees times the percentage of ssi times 40 times 52 ia lot of money.

  261. If MSNBC is starting to do hit job pieces on Obama, the honeymoons over.

Expect a lot more Rezko stuff starting tomorrow.

  262. This is delicious, still looking for the link but this will kill Obama stone dead.

Most everyone is familiar with the concept that all the people in the world are only six degrees of seperation apart. If a person in a leadership position finds crooks and criminals within those degrees of seperation, it may warrant further examination.

But what if a presidential contender is only two degrees of seperation away from one of the most notorious heads of state in modern times?

This is the case with Barack Obama. If you follow the money, you will find only two degrees of seperation between Obama and Hussein — Saddam Hussein.

Bill Gertz of the Washington Times makes the connection between Obama and Antoin “Tony” Rezko, a Syrian immigrant to the United States, and Nadhmi Auchi, the Iraqi-born billionaire who is one of Britain’s richest men. Gertz has intimated that Auchi has ties to the Oil for Food program, which is the largest scandal in the history of mankind.

Suddenly Obama’s long-held opposition to the war in iraq takes on a whole new dimension.

So the only two degrees of seperation between Obama and Hussein are the Syrian, Rezko and the Iraqi, Auchi. The tie that binds is a multi-million dollar loan.

Was Obama an opponent of the war, or a shill for Saddam Hussein, linked by money?

  263. London Times:

From The Sunday TimesMarch 2, 2008

Corruption trial threatens frontrunnerTony Allen-Mills in Chicago

IN THE summer of 2005, a 20-year-old Chicago student named John Aramanda arrived at the Washington office of Senator Barack Obama to begin a coveted summer internship. He was one of about 100 bright young Illinois students who passed through the senator’s office that year, gaining invaluable experience in the front line of a future presidential candidate’s national operations.

This week Aramanda’s name may return to haunt Obama. The student’s father, Joseph, has emerged as a central figure in the trial beginning on Tuesday of Antoin “Tony” Rezko, a prominent Chicago political broker accused of a long list of fraud and corruption offences.

As a former friend and neighbour of Rezko, Obama was also a political beneficiary of the Syrian-born millionaire’s extensive fundraising operations. Central to the prosecution’s case against Rezko is a $375,000 (£187,500) payoff – called a “finder’s fee” – that is alleged to have been skimmed illegally from investment fees paid by the Illinois state teachers’ pension fund.

At least $10,000 of that money turned up in Obama’s campaign account through a donation by Joseph Aramanda, who according to prosecutors received $250,000 from the pension fund payoff and directed it to others at Rezko’s behest.

The payment to Obama was made a year before Aramanda’s son was awarded his internship. Obama’s aides have denied any connection between the donation and the internship, and Joseph Aramanda has not been accused of any crime. Rezko has pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him.

Yet even before the first state witnesses begin to explain the complex financial dealings that federal investigators claim were corrupt, it is clear the Rezko trial could scarcely have come at a worse moment for the Illinois senator who has built his presidential challenge on promises of hope, integrity and change.

Republican operatives are hovering gleefully at the margins of the Rezko trial, keen to gather ammunition against Obama for their White House campaign. While there is no suggestion that the senator has broken any law, the Republicans intend to call his political judgment into question.

They will also focus on evidence that he developed his political career in Chicago with the help of some controversial friends.

Illinois, the home of Al Capone, has never been a state for the politically fainthearted. One former governor, George Ryan, is currently serving a 6½year jail sentence for steering state contracts to cronies and accepting payoffs in return. The current governor, Rod Blagojevich, is clinging to office amid claims by federal agents that he was the main beneficiary of Rezko’s allegedly illegal schemes.

“In the old days it started with newly arrived immigrants going to precinct political bosses for jobs,” said Cynthia Canary, director of the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform, an independent watchdog. “It was about trading political favours, about you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours.”

For years the inside trading of the state’s largely Democratic political machines was known as “pay to play”. It has since morphed into something more sinister: government jobs and contracts were effectively put up for sale in exchange for politicians’ campaign contributions.

“It used to be relatively small-scale stuff,” Canary said. “It was, ‘Put my cousin Vinnie on the payroll and here’s a hundred bucks’. But today the price of admission has escalated tremendously.”

The roots of the Rezko investigation appear to lie in a remarkable outburst in 2005 by Blagojevich’s father-in-law, a powerful Chicago alderman named Dick Mell. After a public falling-out with his daughter’s husband, Mell alleged that state government posts were being sold to the highest bidder, prompting prosecutors to launch a grand jury investigation.

As long ago as 2002, there were suggestions that officials in Springfield, the state capital, had been coerced by FBI agents into wearing wires to record evidence of payoffs and bribes to local politicians.

It was into this festering swamp that Obama launched his political career, first as a local official and from 2004 as an Illinois senator. “I knew Obama when he worked in Springfield, and in my experience he led a pretty straight and narrow path,” said Canary.

But no politician can survive in Illinois without access to the campaign funds controlled by the state’s principal power brokers, Canary added. “There are very few other routes you can take to power. You just have to hold your nose and work your way through the system.”

Obama fell in with Rezko, who owned a string of restaurant and property businesses. Rezko organised fundraisers for the state’s newest African-American star; and when Obama made national headlines after his spellbinding performance at the 2004 Democratic convention, Rezko helped him to acquire a piece of land next to a $1.65m mansion the Obamas were buying in a historic neighbourhood close to the University of Chicago.

That property deal, completed in June 2005, has caused Obama no end of grief, not least because on the day that the house was sold at a discount of $300,000, Rezko’s wife Rita bought from the same vendor the vacant plot next door at the full asking price of $625,000. Part of the plot was then sold to Obama.

No evidence has surfaced that the deal was in any way improper, and last week the vendors emerged at the behest of the Obama campaign to confirm that the senator’s bid was the highest they received.

Yet the deal has tied Obama irrevocably to Rezko. The senator has since admitted that his dealings with Rezko were “bone-headed”. His campaign has donated to charity more than $85,000 of donations linked to Rezko.

Aramanda, a businessman who once took over several Rezko-owned pizza restaurants in Wisconsin, could not be contacted last week. He has previously told the Chicago Tribune that there was nothing untoward about his son’s internship.

Last week the judge in charge of the Rezko trial ruled that prosecutors could introduce detailed evidence regarding the $375,000 payoff. Judge Amy St Eve declared that the tracing of the “finder’s fee” was “integral to the indictment”.

  264. Changing Parties for the Primary.

Story on Fox 5 news. Like the “Democrat for a Day’ dirty tactic. Talking about how Pennsylvania allows switching parties on the day of the primary and then switching back for the GE. Unfortunately, the Bimbo anchor is saying that it’s a way for BO to inflict a knock out blow on HRC but at least they’re TALKING about this disgusting strategy.

GREAT clips on forum! Loved the SNL BO cartoon. My take: Is he BLACK enough a sub-text. HRC very funny in the opening.

  265. Luntz on Fox! Says HRC should not even CONSIDER dropping out of the race if she takes Ohio and RI; that she’ll be within 100 delegates and she’d be crazy to tank.

Says she was AMAZING on SNL and the segment went far longer coz of overwhelming response. About the BO Ohio misleading NAFTA and health care flyers, the focus group did NOT like the flyers and felt BO was LYING!!!!!! Luntz says if HRC wins Ohio it’s at least 6 more months for campaign, like Groundhog Day. VERY positive for HRC. Jack Nicholson ad coming up next. Only down part in Luntz interview is the focus group did not respond well to her 3AM ad. HUH!!!!!!!

  266. Hi Guys….

Boy…this Rezko story sure is buried in the online edition of the NYT.

I had to do a search. It’s in the U.S. tab under POLITICS, but about half way down the page. I suspect if it were on the front page it would be among the most read by now…instead of the story on Obama and the Jewish vote

  267. BBasil…good morning…the fact that te Dem for a Day things is getting airtime means, (one would think) tha te SD’s will HAVE to consider that.

Good news about the Lundtz stuff

  268. We should write a letter that each of us can send to the SDs highlighting the Pew data showing centrist dems defecting if BO is nominee. This is the sort of thing they should be considering when they think about what is best for the party.

  269. Hi Spacegirl,

Fox played the entire nicholsen clip and Luntz looooved it. Said HRC should put it up everywhere, that JN is a very private person and the fact this is the first time he’s endorsed a candidtae is significant.
OK, conspiracy theorist that I am ( hate to bring this up) but doya think all this positve HRC press isi a set-up, a way for BM to say they DID give postive coverage when, as I’m suspecting they think, BO does well on Tuesday? Is it a set-up to a setback? Sorry but mornings are my grumpy time and SG, I know such thoughts cross your mind, too.
Also, emailed geraldo last night about hispanic voting problems and need a project for the day. Any ideas?

  270. Basil…CALL IF YOU CAN. I’ve been over at THEIR Blogs and they are bitching about MSM coverage for HC. They are having HUGE calling parties, but one thing that bothered me was a blog abot Precinct Captains who are not of legal voting age….”We have a large number of precinct captains that are not yet 18 years old but they are so fired up and motivated that we have no doubt they will run the caucus’ with iron fists.”

SO WE NEED TO BE ON THE PHONES AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

  271. dedfg, SG,
I wouldn’t be surprised, either. i think the whole friggin thing has been rigged from beginning to end to conform with the preferred story line, the preferred outcome. SG, I can’t call coz I have no voice now. meds I’m on mess with my throat and I can only speak for a couple of minutes. I’m better at emailing and writing at the moment. Haven’t heard anything else about the hispanic voter problems so i don’t want to pursue that.

Ann, good idea about the SD letter content. maybe I’ll tweak mine before I continue sending to the Governors .

  272. Spacegirl,
The positive side of my conspiracy theory. Maybe the HRC campaign deliberately positioned HRC for the underdog position in February as a response to complaints SHE’D been the presumed annointee and their strategy all along was to surge on TT2?

  273. Axelrod and Wolfon on Stephanapolos. Wolfson is sooo much better. Now I know where BO gets his stuttering from. :-D. Wolfson pushing Rezko issue in a succint firm way. Go Wolfson! About BO. “Great speeches. A metaphor for his career. Good rhetoric, no follow-up.”

How many fund raisers. How many emails. Axelrod says questions have been answered but he sounds slightly panicked, a bit hysterical. Wolfson calm and collected.

Wolfson says I think everyone listening today will realize the Rezko questions have not been answered.

  274. WOW….it’s not even 9:30 and I have alerted the campaign Press office and the TIPS line about potential underage Brownshirt Precinct Captains in Houston for OObama. Also called Texas HQ and got a friggin ANSWERING MACHINE, but left a message. Also wrote a support letter to Hillary.

    Whew!

    More coffee

Don’t forget face the nation this morning w/Richardson

  275. SG, I’m on GS. What did Rove say?
BTW – Wolfson stayed on the rezko issue and didn’t let up.

Now the roundtable with friggin brazille. When and where is dean on today?

  276. Lots of belittling of Hillary on MTP this morning. I could only stomach the first half. Scrum was on there and a Republican columnist. Also Mary Matlin and James Carville. Shrum says Hillary needs a “morale imperative” of why she should win over Obama as he will have a majority of delegates at the convention. No one, not even Carville/Matlin, brought up the fact that Obama has all these shockin negatives that will be the foundation of that morale imperative. Matalin did point out that if Hillary wins states Tuesday it gives some momentum to win in the following states including Puerto Rico which as over 60 delegates, implying that it’s possible for her to be much closer in delegates by the convention even though she won’t have the lead. Of course the Republican guy said there was no way to put the Obama phenomenon “back in the bottle”. Again, however, no discussion of how Obama might manage to do that himself considering his past history and asasociations.

I think that those on the panel are still thinking conventionally in what has been a very unconventional race. I think it’s possible for many things to happen. At least they acknowledged that a fight is going on in the Democratic party with the liberal side and generational side (I think there are other fights going on as well).

  277. Basil….don’t watch Brazille…she is bad for your well-being 😀

It’s sunday, relax, and gird your loins for Richardson! LOL

  278. Americangal,

    what’s MYP?

    Excellent and encouraging point:
‘I think that those on the panel are still thinking conventionally in what has been a very unconventional race. I think it’s possible for many things to happen. At least they acknowledged that a fight is going on…’

Anyone know where dean is gonna appear?

  279. AmericanGal…thanks for the warning! LOL

Not on here til 10. I can do without Pumpkinhead and be just fine

  280. SG,

ROTFLMAO! OK – when and where is Richardson? Yeah, about Sunday – Now that I can get outta the driveway after another 8 inches of snow yesterday, I’m going for a walk after flock duty.

  281. He is probably all whacked out about SNL skit and is just doing his USUAL AND PERSONAL HC bashing

I LOVE FOX…”it’s not ok to use his middle name…” but they still keep showing the Cunningham clip!

    LOL

  282. FOX doing Farrakhan

Juan Williams is trying to say it is racial !!!!

    LOL

Brit HUme calling him on it

  283. Juan Williams really all upset

    funny to see!

Race card isn’t working on FOX this morning

  284. SG, AG,

juan williams says BO is a hypocrite on the public financing issue.

Brett Hume pretty ‘fair and balanced.” He shot down the notion that idiot krystal brought up about the BO photo and who leaked it by saying it’s in the public domain.

  285. Funny as shit….An obama blog says, paraphrasing, there will be no need for a red phone because his foreign policy skills will make it so that are no world crises!

    OMG

    How frightening

These people ARE drinking Kool aid

  286. SG,

What blog? Where’s the deconstruction of BO! I wanna see that.

Hate pumpkinhead. He is positively GLOATING! Carville uncharacteristically tame. Gonna tune to MTP then tweetie and McGlughlin and then outta here.

  287. I’m watching This Week and making Breakfast

YUMMMM BLueberry sausage and eggs! Akelrod stuttering a LOT

    Waiting for Face the Nation
The blog was an Obama Blog Basil

I am foregoing Pumpkinhead this morning

  288. Going to live in my own little bubble tis morning and not listen to Brazille…

    TV land until 10:30! LOL

I DO NOT CARE what they say. The more vicious they are, the better we are doing!

  289. HRC contributor counter up to almost 37,000!

I just wanna know WHY they’re waiting ’til the LAST minute to raise this money. How much good can it do at this point?

  290. Don’t know LJ

    we’ll soon find out

    my guess is he will
and on CBS…pretty neutral territory in the MSNBC/CNN wars

  291. that is a stupid argument and his “tell”

“who ever has the most delegates after tuesday should be the nominee”

    Obama will

  292. That friggin Richardson. didya see he’s got a goatee?

Saying he’s not gonna endorse now but he MAT endorse before Tuesday and whoever has the most delegates should be the nominee after tuesday so isn’t that an endorsement coz we know HRC can’t surpass BO in delegates by tuesday.
Shiffer asks doesn’t he feel loyalty to HRC and he weasles outta that one, too.

    😈

    himty

  293. SpacegirlArt

I heard that too…whoever has the most delegates???
    mathematically.. it’s Obama

    SHUT UP RICHARDSON!!!! you’re irrelevent.

  294. basil9 it’s a beard not a goatee but doesn’t matter…I don’t want to see his stupid face anyway

  295. Well…that was a non story, and we can just as well surmise by his TERRIBLE display of fence sitting, this back-and-forth, AND his self-dissing on the non-importance of Endorsements….

he is not on our team

  296. OK.

WTF is the internationalist experience Bo supposedly has??????

What a pig that guy is. nonononononon coyly speaking i’m not gonna endorse now but Bo this and Bo that . . . barf.

    👿

  297. You FOOOLLLLLL!!

mCCain WILL cut into traditional Democrat constituencies like the HRC supporters who will flock to his side if that Obamalamadingdong wins!

I’m getting more and more convinced she needs to run as an indie. the dems DESERVE whatever happens to them if they insist on following their pre-scripted agenda to the bitter end.

  298. seriously I will not vote for Obama, but neither will I vote for McCain. I will register as independent and give it to a candidate there. Maybe Kuchinich will run?? But I will vote just to keep Obama from the White House.

  299. What about MI and FL — did he mention them??

These Dem insiders are all trying to push her out. It makes me support her more.

  300. A sobering report. we knew this but the facts are daunting. 200 paid volunteers to texas, 150 to Ohio.

BO spends heavily to deliver knockout blow.
    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23427093/

And that b!tch O all over the web with ads for tonight’s show. And, btw, did you know she’s launching her own TV station tomorrow?

  301. They are bringing out the BIg Guns in the DNC today.

Kerry downplaying the SD’s “independent status” should voote how the people vote and we need to do away with that NOW

  302. Freudian slip or premonition?

Fox anchor just referred to HRC as PRESIDENT CLINTON when she was discussing her Ohio agenda as she segued into BO’s campaign stops there.

    😀

Obama: A Thin Record For a Bridge Builder

    By David Ignatius
    Sunday, March 2, 2008; Page B07

Hillary Clinton has been trying to make a point about Barack Obama that deserves one last careful look before Tuesday’s probably decisive Democratic primaries: If Obama truly intends to unite America across party lines and break the Washington logjam, then why has he shown so little interest or aptitude for the hard work of bipartisan government?

This is the real “Where’s the beef?” about Obama, and it still doesn’t have a good answer. He gives a great speech, and he promises that he can heal the terrible partisan divisions that have enfeebled American politics over the past decade. This is a message of hope that the country clearly wants to hear.

But for voters to feel confident that he can achieve this transformation should he become president, they would need evidence that he has fought and won similar battles. The record here, to put it mildly, is thin.

What I hear from politicians who have worked with Obama, both in Illinois state politics and here in Washington, gives me pause. They describe someone with an extraordinary ability to work across racial lines but not someone who has earned any profiles in courage for standing up to special interests or divisive party activists.

The most famous example was a key gun control vote that he missed in December 1999 because he was vacationing in Hawaii.

Rush pounded Obama by more than 2 to 1 in the primary.

He wasn’t part of the 2005 Gang of 14 bipartisan coalition that sought to break the logjam on judicial nominations, but neither were Clinton or other prominent Democrats.

So the cupboard isn’t bare.

  304. This argument about the war vote is so stupid, Kerry, Edwards, all voted FOR the authorization…yet they are all saying, n fact, THEIR judgement was wrong!

If THEIR judgment was wrong on the War…How can we trust THEIR judgment on Barack Obama!

  305. SG,
but, apparently there are few delegates in s. Texas. They’re all in the urban areas, Austin, houston, Dallas.
Fox talking about the HRC phone system saying that in NH they made a half million calls on the day of the primary and her campaign is counting on that coz BO’s campaign’s goal is knocking on a million doors by Tuesday.
I will be proud of her no matter what happens and I just may contribute AGAIN to get that counter to 50,000 and keep my fingers crossed that extra cash will do the trick.
    I’m off.

In the recent Democratic presidential debate in Austin, the candidates were asked to describe a personal crisis that tested their characters.

Sen. Barack Obama recited his biography, apparently hoping we would, justifiably, be inspired. Sen. Hillary Clinton said her well-known personal trials were nothing compared to those of the injured soldiers she so eloquently evoked and that they and thousands of other Americans had inspired her to devote her life to public service and to enter this race. This is the profound difference between these candidates — and between good leaders and great ones like Hillary Clinton.

Seven years of the Bush administration have left us so hungry for change that we will accept almost any kind offered. SenatorObama says he is the agent of that change and proclaims that we are the change we seek, the change we’ve been waiting for.

Yet change alone is not enough. George Bush changed peace into war, surpluses into deficits and the respect this country enjoyed around the world into contempt. That was not what we had waited for.

Yet Obama will also keep us waiting. His thin legislative record — so thin even his Texas spokesperson was at a loss to name a single Senate accomplishment — reveals his avoidance of controversy and hard choices, including more than a hundred votes of “present” in the Illinois Legislature when others took a stand.

The U.S. Senate subcommittee he chairs on NATO, a key ally, has never met or acted. He touts ethics reform that requires only that congressmen stand while lobbyists buy their three-martini lunches and offers a health care plan that doesn’t cover everybody. Even his speech against the war in Iraq was not followed by action in the Senate. Promising change alone, he delivers only change lite, change borne of the easy consensus that comes from political expedience and not asking for too much.Campaigning for change is one thing; delivering even a little is another. As Fred Siegel, a professor of history at the Cooper Union for Science and Art, observes,”Patrick’s governorship is the closest thing we have to a preview of the ‘politics of hope’ and that governorship has been a failure to date. As [columnist] Joan Vennochi observes in the Boston Globe, Patrick’s record in office ‘shows that it can be hard to get beyond being the face of change, to actually changing politics.’ … Patrick hasn’t delivered reform, much less the transformation that both he and Obama promise.” Gov. Patrick’s failures no doubt explain why Massachusetts Democrats, when offered more of the same, voted overwhelmingly for Clinton.Hillary Clinton asks more of us. She urges us to look not to her or ourselves for affirmation but to find true and lasting inspiration by looking outward together to see the invisible Americans she sees, those whose desperate needs and quiet dignity compel her and us to act. She calls upon us to work together to improve their lives and, in the process, our own because she knows that real, positive change is the only kind worth fighting for.

And fight we must. Words may inspire but only blood, sweat and yes, even occasional tears make positive change happen. No change worth having has ever come without them. Thomas Jefferson’s words “all men are created equal” were but a cruel hope for many until Americans fought to make them real.

While it is tempting to think we can achieve change but avoid conflict if only we believe enough, we know, deep down, that real change requires more than hope. It always has. César Chávez devoted his life to that fight. That is why the union he and Dolores Huerta pioneered endorsed Clinton. Bobby Kennedy gave his life in that fight and his children have endorsed her, too. They showed us that fighting together for meaningful change is noble, not passe.

Like them, Hillary Clinton has fought for positive change all her life. Millions of children have health care because of her tireless work in the face of special interest opposition. Thousands of soldiers and veterans have the services and dignity they deserve because she fought for them when they could no longer fight for themselves.

To achieve real change as president, she has done her homework and earned the deep respect of military leaders here, world leaders in 80 countries and of Republicans and Democrats alike. Unlike Obama, she can use this critical political capital, established trust, staggering depth and breadth of knowledge and hard-won wisdom to deliver on the promises she has made while keeping America and the world safe.

Hillary Clinton, as America’s first woman president, will boldly fight for you and with you to deliver meaningful change that will make your future, that of your children and grandchildren, and of this country and the world not just different, but better.

  323. http://www.politic.com excerpt re the Jack NIcholson video endorsement.
********************************8The YouTube clip, titled “Jack and Hill,” is the brainchild of Hollywood producer Bruce Cohen (“American Beauty”) and screenwriter John Krokidas, who have been working on the project since mid-February. Cohen had the idea of using iconic Nicholson clips in a pro-Hillary video and took the idea to his friend Krokidas, who spent a night writing the script — with help from the Internet Movie Database’s “memorable quotes” section. Cohen then took the concept to Hillary booster and director Rob Reiner, who had just made “The Bucket List” with Nicholson.

The actor was “very enthusiastic” about the idea, says Krokidas, and invited him up to his Mulholland Drive home less than 12 hours later to film the coda. The segment, which took only 10 minutes to shoot, was deemed necessary to show that Nicholson really did endorse Clinton. Otherwise, it could seem as though the video was just composed by some fan at a PC. The Nicholson video cost just $300 — about 1/100th the budget of the wildly popular Will.i.am “Yes We Can” YouTube video in support of Barack Obama.

“This is a very heated, serious part of the political season,” says Krokidas, “and we all wanted to add another color” to the campaign. The video’s message, he insists, is serious, but the clip is also meant to be a satire of all the political endorsements going on this year. So far, the Nicholson clip has appeared on the Huffington Post, CNN, Fox News and elsewhere, but has been viewed just about 775,000 times on YouTube — far from the 10 million or so hits that the Will.i.am clip generated in its first week.

Clinton Campaign Calls on Sen. Obama to Release Records and Correspondence Relating to Tony Rezko
Earlier today, in an exchange with Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod on This Week with George Stephanopoulos, Howard Wolfson called on the Obama campaign to release all records and correspondence relating to Tony Rezko.

Tony Rezko goes on trial tomorrow for corruption charges in Chicago.

How many fund-raisers did Mr. Rezko throw for Senator Obama? What did Senator Obama do for Mr. Rezko? Did he write letters for him? What projects of his did he support? How many business meetings did he attend where Mr. Rezko had business associates there? One more important one – what are the full details of this very unusual real estate transaction that Mr. Rezko and Mr. Obama entered into?

What I would suggest to my friend David – and he is my friend – they should put out all of the information regarding that real estate transaction, all of the e-mails, all of the correspondence, all of the letters, every single piece of information so that the public can really look at this and say, “What’s going on here?”

  326. admin alert Please someone who can contact Hillary’s office. Durbin lied this morning on This Week with Stephie:

And I think that Senator Obama has met that test. I remember one of those moments in the Senate. It was almost 2:00 a.m. on October 11, 2002, and that’s when we were called on to vote as to whether to authorize President Bush to invade Iraq.

There were many senators who decided at that time to give the president the authority. Barack Obama said clearly he would not. His judgment was right at that critical moment in history. And I think it’s judgment that people are looking for.

He just implied that Obama voted against the AUMF.

Why the hell are people so hung up on AUMF. I was against the war fro the start and I could care a less about Hill’s vote. It doesn’t make me think any less of her. She would not have gone to war in Iraq. She has said that and frankly, it is pretty obvious, even when you look at her statements on the floor of the Senate that day. Who the heck are these drones who are hitching their tent on a guy who didn’t even have to vote?

  350. Haha, I loved the song that played when she was done with her rally. “A little less conversation a little more action” elvis.

Thanks for the link, I loved it, especially as the crowd interrupted her at one point to chant, “Hillary speaks for me” !!! She seemed surprised by that” People are taking charge, finding out information by themselves, this is a good testament for Hillary supporters.

She must have miss spoke at one point tho, saying she wants people in a minute to ask her questions, only to leave without have done a Q&A, she doesn’t have time to do that these days, needs to rush off to another meeting, so a mishap I’m sure. Strange it doesn’t happen more often considering how busy she is.

  351. Gorto,

Another crowd with AMAZING energy. Nice to see Hillary’s wide smile as the crowd lifts her up.

  352. Its so hard to watch what is being done to this fine woman and fierce candidate. Bill Clinton knew this was brewing but I do not think they had any inkling of how far the party would go to destroy a woman’s chance to bel CIC. Were she a republican candidate with her quailifications, I bet you dollars to donuts they would embrace her rather than stab her under the back and turn on her. It is so obvious that it’s a sexist thing with many of the Senators and Governors. However, it is the pure hatred that makes me rethink whether being a Democrat is what I will want to be after this selection. This nomination has become nothing but pure racial, sexist bs orchestrated by the party itself to dereal the most competent candidate to ever hit the scene. I think its a real shame that more women haven’t come out over the treatment of her in this whole thing. The media, the print, the elected officials in Washington and across the US. I am not only ashamed of the assholes Democrats elected across the country but I’m also ashamed of the many women who have backhanded her just because the ole green eyed monster rose upl.

If they manage to derail her, all the while throwing her the bone, Majority Senate Leader…I promise I’ll never vote in this party again.

The damage they have inflicted, and the damage they will inflict if they manage to seat this unqualifed person in our higest office. It is unforgiveable.

I don’t see how she manages to go on, but this is another trait of hers that so qualifies her for the higest office in the land.

Hillary, I wish you the best always and thank you for you for your service. You have been greatly underappreciated by your own party.

Guys, PLEASE, PLEASE even if you only make 10 calls today, call , call, call. If you have donated already, see if you can even send $5.44 today. I will send $10.44 and skip snacks for Mon and Tues.

  356. Hillary had to leave, she has a rally in Akron in a couple of hours. She usually does open it up for questions before she leaves.

  357. I think lots of pieces seem to be nicely falling into place, into Clinton’s place.

The Obama crowd has been so full of shit, it’s now oozing out their pores, and people like me have to in-the-shower scrub after listening to all the lies, just like with Bush.

As far as I’m concerned, the Democratic (Misogynist) Party can join the Republican (Nazi) Party and go to hell. I think nearly all of the Dem party are corrupt colluders with The Other Side, so much so that there isn’t even a This Side anymore. If the powers-that-be want Obama after the way he’s behaved in this election season especially, then I think they’ve made it clear that democratic principles are not on their agendas.

“Democratic” Party, take a guess which part of my anatomy you can kiss.

Give me Hillary or give me nobody!

  358. Anyone else notice that Oprah is a coward? I knew she would not have the guts to campaign in TX. I should have said she is a chicken she she does not eat beef..

  359. tiburones, I have a theory on why the polls are swinging back to Hillary.

I think Obama’s back-and-forth with McCain on Obama’s comment over reinvading Iraq if Al Qaida takes root there hurt him quite a bit:

    a) He looked unprepared to go against McCain on national security.
    b) He looked quite shrill in his response to McCain. When I saw the clip of his response in his deep voice it was grating and unappealing.

Also, Bush going after Obama on his wanting to meet with dictators without pre-conditions hurt him quite a bit. Finally, people are having buyer’s remorse and the media is beginning to get a bit more tough on him. I have always felt that this guy had a glass jaw. Even mildy negative media coverage hurts him quite a bit because he is an empty slate and people don’t know enough about him.

  360. If the Gay community in TX and OH feels the way many of the posters on perezhilton.com do, Hillary will not have a problem on Tuesday.

    Hey Homos!
    perezhilton.com/2008-02-28-hey-homos#respond

  361. Regarding that 3am call, obama can try to scream out that she is playing a fear card….but the truth is that many people like the guy(I’m not one), but have concerns as to whether or not he is prepared for that job.

And when actually (finally!) faced with the tough questions, not of do you like him? but do you trust him?
The answer will be NO! And she needed to ask this tough question to people in order to get the true answer out, and this 3am thing does that, she should repeat it, while at the same time, as she did now in ohio, point out all of the generals who have endorsed her!

This is a winning strategy, and may I add, I too have noticed this sudden increase in energy and enthusiasm in her supporters lately, and as right before the upturn in NH, Hillary has said now that she feels something is happening!!! 😀

    Buyers remorse it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  362. rjk1957, well…..if he gets the nom, he better get used to it! this is just another example of his inexperience, he hasn’t even gotten the nom yet (wont happen) and he complains, he does know that the GE isn’t until november right?? sheees!

  363. TPS, I question whether the polls ever swung away from her, especially if they ever reflected “realities.” Just a short time ago, she had been up by double digits in both Texas and Ohio; then, all of a sudden, he’s up by nearly double-digits? This reminds me of the double-digit swing to Bush once the Ohio 2004 election was “counted” (read, rigged). Things have been swinging too far too fast, back-and-forth forth-and-back. I smell SHAM.

I’m not listening to any polls anymore; I haven’t been all along pretty much. Like I think Clinton said at one point: “Let’s just have the election.”

I think the American people are once again being scammed by propaganda (i.e., the article mentioned above that used a propagandist emotion-inducing my-team-your-team sports term like “knockout blow”), being inundated with propaganda. The former Soviet Union has got nothing on today’s United States! Which means: everything the people hear from a so-called official voice is likely suspect, including the positive stuff toward Clinton at any time.

This is why propagandist societies SUCK. The picture is so muddied with bullshit, isolating the not-bullshit parts becomes very difficult. But it can be done if people expose themselves to as little emotion-inducing propaganda as possible.

  364. Please if you can visit, http://www.taylormarsh.com — there is an audio of today’s conference call with individual testimony from all the flag officers who are endorsing her. It is really impressive and more impressive is that they would do this for her now. This should be distributed far and wide. Obama’s support from the military is next to nil. Support for her from these people is extraordinary.I don’t think MSM will pick it up. Could somebody send this info to local news/TV outlets in TX and OH?

  365. Democrats will not win the WH in November without NJ. The superdelegates need to be reminded of that.

    Rasmussen
    Clinton 50%
    McCain 39%
    Und. 11%

    McCain 45%
    Obama 43%
    Und 12%

  366. Ok has anyone noticed any biased polls on realclearpolitics cspanzogby as done two polls back to back for texas and they have never done that before! hillary was at 8 points ahead in ohio and had one tie with obama and one polls shows her with a 12 lead now how the hell is she only 3 something ahead of him in ohio! WOULD SOMEONE EXPLAIN THIS TO ME! IS THE ZOGBY POLL BIASED TOWARDS OBAMA THEY DID TWO POLLS IN TWO DAYS STRAIGHT THEY HAVE NEVER DONE THAT! I AM PISSED!

  367. “I have always felt that this guy had a glass jaw. Even mildy negative media coverage hurts him quite a bit because he is an empty slate and people don’t know enough about him.”

–Yet, and guess who that sounds like? Who has famously been in-a-bubble protected from the least bit of criticism? Who has been one of the most famous teflon politicians ever, thanks in large part to a compliant media? Who had a cushy spoiled life, and with minimal experience, got in through connections and money and thuggery and all sorts of other crap that had nothing to do with his ability to be an elected official, which ability turned out to be nil?

  368. Zogby polls automatically start out with a 8 to10 point bias against Hillary. Just add 8 to 10 point to Hillary’s numbers and that is a clearer picture of where she really stands

  369. winhillary, Zogby’s abilities as a pollster have proven rotten. You might as well ask a random person on the street to take a poll–you’d probably get as accurate a prediction as Zogby now typically makes.

Zogby’s brother is supposedly an Obama supporter–and I think a superdelegate or something?

  370. OK guys, good afternoon. I answered the call from TD re: B. MErry’s observation and sent the Dick Durban Spin-Lie on “THIS WEEK” to 1.) Campaign TIPS, 2.) Campaign PRESS OFFICE 3.) Media Matters. If anyone has more inside contact, please do the same.

    Also just donated again.

  371. Diva, Space, BMerry, and others… this is urgent and important..

  372. pm…I have to beg out of that AT THE MOMENT. I have scheduled calls from 4-6 or seven and need ot eat first. I JUST got back in from being out, but can take SOME of that on later. I also have a piect to write for Obama Deck of Cards… Or, TRY to write! LOL

  373. Space, if you are calling TX, pl. make sure they know about the caucus in the night. Couple of posters at TM were saying the people they called were unaware of that they had to go to caucus in the evening. Thanks.

  374. Fran, your comparing Obama to Bush is exactly on point. Bush had a similar media crush when he came on the scene. The same Broder and Fineman who are now besotted with Obama were besotted with Bush. If anything, Obama has gotten even more positive coverage.

  375. IDEA TO WRITERS: re SNL… (thinking about this at the beach with the dog today)

    Something on “Endorsements”

The Teddy Kennedy video with him singing in Spanish, looking like a total idiot is TOO PRICELESS to not gain more national attention at this time.

Something like “Senate Stalwart and the Lion of the Liberal Left says Obama has the Judgment to be the President. (show clip, edit at center) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sdl86KNkt_M.

Ted Kennedy – ALL ABOUT good judgment

  376. Don’t worry pm, I have a total script and all the numbers etc. I did this earlier in the week and found that a lot of people knew ABOUT the caucus but didn’t know how to do it. I will take care of them 🙂

  377. Yep, TPS, and Bush’s media crush only increased to horrific proportions once he was sitting in the white house, horrific proportions which have nearly destroyed this country, in my opinion. Americans cannot let this situation happen again, like, DUH.

  378. No more propaganda, no more lies, no more thugs. I can’t believe every american isn’t completely sick of all this crook falsity by now. Where are their heads?

  379. this was posted earlier….

between Rezko and this, I think we have a hit on our hands! 😀

Finally, Obama had to admit there was a meeting about NAFTA between his chief economist and a Canadian consulate general representative. However, he
denied that his chief economist promised anything contradicting his stand on NAFTA.”

  380. So in other words that clip of Obama on his plane telling reporters that no meeting took place was a lie. Hillary needs to play that up BIG in Ohio. If he can lie so easily about a meeting, how can anyone trust that he is being truthful now.

  381. I gotta get on the phones. Then I have to backtrack all those newspapers y’all sent the NAFTA story too. Has anyone got AP Address easily?

    *********

OBAMA BLAMING THE PRESS for the contest still going on! SHEESH! What a whiner! E is REALLY getting nasty at her.

  382. I saw this at hc.com”. The campaign really needs to do something about this.

“This is off topic, sorry. I’ve been making calls all afternoon for Hillary in Texas. I can’t tell you how many senior citizens I’ve talked to who said they were either unaware or told they didn’t need to go to the precinct convention (caucus) to sign in so their vote will count. Many of them have no rides because they are elderly, or they said I was flat out wrong about this. Has anyone else making calls to Texas run across this situation? I’ve also found that the Latino voters didn’t know about this and don’t plan on going back to caucus because they are working at that time.

Is there anyone from Texas who knows if the Hillary campaign are giving rides to the elderly who cannot drive and already voted early?

    by rose2797 at 3/2/2008 2:14:26 PM”

  383. Obama just said at a speech that re: Natl Intel Estimate “Jay Rockefeller voted against the war”

    LIE

  384. “So in other words that clip of Obama on his plane telling reporters that no meeting took place was a lie.”

–I went back through the old thread trying to find info about what his campaign specifically said. I thought they said at some point that no contact had been made. Does anyone have the exact text from the clip, Obama’s exact wording?

  385. OK.
    Here’s a GREAT poll!

Columbus Dispatch today says HRC 56 and BO 40! Wouldn’t it be AWESOME if she won by that much!!!!!!
