God, I love Hill she set him up over the last 3 days and he didnt even see it coming. I now know why she went all nicey nicey at the debate, it was a simple, oh yes you are a lovely person, we will be friends. She told the audience, I am gracious, and then came the whallop. I was friendly, i offered my hand in friendship to Barack and this is how he treats fellow Democrats. He stabs them in the back with lies and deceit. It was a classic. Compliment your enemy and then when they make a move you devour them as backstabbers.
Now H has set the scene for building on it through the media.
1 : its not the first opponent he’s done this to.
2 : He’s not what you think he is.
3 : Who is Barack.
4 : If he can do this to Democrats, you cannot trust him in the WH.

Here’s the five-point plan for her endgame:

“It’s nothing new, but it’s someone new to say it,” said a Clinton aide. “She is appreciative of the feedback and suggestions.”
4) Aim for women, who made her the upset winner of the New Hampshire primary. They’re the target of Clinton’s closing remarks from the Austin debate, which the campaign blast e-mailed on Saturday from “Bill Clinton” with the subject line, “The moment” and an appeal for funds to place her remarks as an ad in states voting on March 4.
“Women like the Hillary Clinton they saw in Austin,” a Clinton aide said.
5) Mix criticism of Obama with positive conversation about herself. The restraint was clear in a remark she made Saturday at a Solutions for American Families town hall in Cincinnati.
“The other day in the debate, I was asked if I believed that I was ready to be commander in chief and my opponent wasn’t,” she said. “I prefer to talk about me. I prefer to say: I know I’m ready. I’m ready because I’ve been there, I understand it and I know what it will take to walk into that White House and assume that awesome responsibility.”
Speaking to reporters afterward, though, she ripped into her opponent by name over his mailing with the headline “Hillary’s health care plan forces everyone to buy insurance, even if you can’t afford it.”
Brandishing the mailer, she said: “Shame on you, Barack Obama!”

Like Michelle Obama, I am a “woman of color.” Like Michelle Obama, I am a working mother of two young children. Like Michelle Obama, I am a member of the 13th generation of Americans born since the founding of our great nation.
Unlike Michelle Obama, I can’t keep track of the number of times I’ve been proud — really proud — of my country since I was born and privileged to live in it.
At a speech in Milwaukee this week on behalf of her husband’s Democratic presidential campaign, Mrs. Obama remarked, “For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country, and not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change.”
Mrs. Obama’s statement was met with warm applause from other Barack supporters who have apparently also been devoid of pride in their country for their adult lifetimes. Or maybe it was just a Pavlovian response to the word “change.” What a sad, empty, narcissistic, ungrateful, unthinking lot.
I’m just seven years younger than Mrs. Obama. We’ve grown up and lived in the same era. And yet, her self-absorbed attitude is completely foreign to me. What planet is she living on? Since when was now the only time the American people have ever been “hungry for change”? Michelle, ma belle, Barack is not the center of the universe. Newsflash: The Obamas did not invent “change” any more than Hillary invented “leadership” or John McCain invented “straight talk.”
We were both adults when the Berlin Wall fell, Michelle. That was earth-shattering change.
We’ve lived through two decades’ worth of peaceful, if contentious election cycles under the rule of law, which have brought about “change” and upheaval, both good and bad.
We were adults through several launches of the space shuttle, in case you were snoozing. And as adults, we’ve witnessed and benefited from dizzyingly rapid advances in technology, communications, science and medicine pioneered by American entrepreneurs who yearned to change the world and succeeded. You want “change”? Go ask the patients whose lives have been improved and extended by American pharmaceutical companies that have flourished under the best economic system in the world.
If American ingenuity, a robust constitutional republic and the fall of communism don’t do it for you, hon, then how about American heroism and sacrifice?
How about every Memorial Day? Every Veterans Day? Every Independence Day? Every Medal of Honor ceremony? Has she never attended a welcome home ceremony for the troops?
For me, there’s the thrill of the Blue Angels roaring over cloudless skies. And the somber awe felt amid the hallowed waters that surround the sunken U.S.S. Arizona at the Pearl Harbor memorial.
Every naturalization ceremony I’ve attended, where hundreds of new Americans raised their hands to swear an oath of allegiance to this land of liberty, has been a moment of pride for me. So have the awesome displays of American compassion at home and around the world. When millions of Americans rallied to help victims of the 2004 tsunami in Southeast Asia — including members of the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group that sped from Hong Kong to assist survivors — my heart filled with pride. It did again when the citizens of Houston opened their arms to Hurricane Katrina victims and folks across the country rushed to their churches, and Salvation Army and Red Cross offices to volunteer.

The opener focused on the media’s fatal attraction for Barack Obama (SNL has never been shy about mocking MSNBC/NBC’s news division); In Tina Fey’s Weekend Update “commentary” — where she identifies herself as a “bitch” (i.e.: plebian for outspoken female..yikes!) — she actually ridicules that stereotype. I’d say both points were favorable to us/Hillary.

Sen. Barack Obama’s refusal to wear an American flag lapel pin along with a photo of him not putting his hand over his heart during the National Anthem led conservatives on Internet and in the media to question his patriotism.
Now Obama’s wife, Michelle, has drawn their ire, too, for saying recently that she’s really proud of her country for the first time in her adult life.
Conservative consultants say that combined, the cases could be an issue for Obama in the general election if he wins the nomination, especially as he runs against Vietnam war hero Sen. John McCain.
“The reason it hasn’t been an issue so far is that we’re still in the microcosm of the Democratic primary,” said Republican consultant Roger Stone. “Many Americans will find the three things offensive. Barack Obama is out of the McGovern wing of the party, and he is part of the blame America first crowd.”
Opponents of Sen. John Kerry proved in the 2004 election that voters are sensitive to suggestions that a candidate is not sufficiently patriotic. The Democratic presidential nominee’s campaign was torpedoed by critics of his Vietnam War record called the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, even though he won multiple military honors and was lauded by his superiors.
The Swift Boat campaign started as a relatively small television ad buy that exploded into an issue that dogged Kerry for months. The Massachusetts senator has conceded since losing to President Bush that the campaign and his lackluster response to unsubstantiated allegations he considered unworthy of a reaction likely cost him the election. And the term even became part of the campaign lexicon — swift boating.
Obama already is the subject of a shadowy smear campaign based on the Internet that falsely suggests he’s a Muslim intent on destroying the United States. Obama is a Christian and has been fighting the e-mail hoax, which also claims he doesn’t put his hand over his heart during the Pledge of Allegiance, and he’s been trying to correct the misinformation.
“Whenever I’m in the United States Senate, I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America,” Obama frequently tells voters.
“I’ve been going to the same church for 20 years, praising Jesus,” he adds.
Retired Major General Scott Gration, an Obama military adviser, said he expects the attacks will only increase if Obama wins the Democratic nomination.
“People are projecting things and taking things out of context,” Gration said. “There’s absolutely no question in my mind that Michelle and Barack are extremely patriotic, appreciate our freedoms and our values and everything else that the flag represents.”
Officials with the McCain campaign and the Republican Party say they won’t be suggesting Obama is less than patriotic, and instead plan to focus their criticisms on his record and inexperience if he wins the nomination. Well-funded outside groups, however, consider anything fair game.
Conservative Republican consultant Keith Appell, who worked with the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, said Obama’s opposition to the war will create a “striking contrast between McCain the war hero and Obama the poster child for the anti-war movement.”
“If you are McCain, you want to play up the decorated war hero, loves his country, served his country,” Appell said. “You want to play those themes up as much as possible, especially in comparison to Obama and his role in the anti-war movement.”

Cindy McCain, McCain’s wife, days later responded by saying, “I have, and always will be, proud of my country.” Barack Obama has expressed frustration that his wife’s remarks had been taken out of context and turned into political fodder — both the Obamas say she was talking about politics in the United States, not the country itself.
Last summer, Obama was photographed by Time magazine at an event in Iowa standing with his hands folded during the national anthem. His primary rivals Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson appear beside him, with their hands on their hearts.
It has been repeatedly reported that the moment came during the Pledge of Allegiance, but that’s not the case.
In October, Obama told Iowa television station KCRG that he decided to stop wearing a U.S. flag lapel pin during the run-up to the Iraq war because it had become “a substitute for, I think, true patriotism.”
“I decided I won’t wear that pin on my chest. Instead, I’m going to try to tell the American people what I believe will make this country great and, hopefully, that will be a testimony to my patriotism,” Obama said.
Obama’s comments led conservatives and media commentators to question his patriotism.
“First he kicked his American flag pin to the curb. Now Barack Obama has a new round of patriotism problems. Wait until you hear what the White House hopeful didn’t do during the singing of the national anthem,” said Steve Doocy, co-host of “Fox and Friends” on the Fox News Channel.
“He felt it OK to come out of the closet as the domestic insurgent he is,” former radio host Mark Williams said on Fox.
Gration said he had a copy of the national anthem photo e-mailed to him by a friend who didn’t know the facts and questioned how a military man could support someone who doesn’t honor the Pledge of Allegiance.
“I go to baseball games and football games and there’s just a minority of us who put our hands over our heart. It’s not an indication of patriotism,” Gration said. Gration said he personally wears a flag pin, but “if I meet someone who doesn’t have a lapel pin, it doesn’t mean they are more or less patriotic than I am.”
And, he added, “I don’t think you can find Barack again not putting his hand over his heart at the national anthem.”
The question is, WHY did it take somebody from the crowd to show those mailers to Hillary.
Somebody is her campaign is in the tank for Obama..they are lying to her, keeping things from her and giving aid and comfort to the enemy.
This lying bullshit has being going on for months…Those mailers went out in California and everywhere else.

I am not really sure that I agree with this, but the IDEAS of change come from the left (or right) of a party. (look at the religious right…radicals at first, now a part of the GOP platform) With GOOD LEADERSHIP and over time, those ideologies become the “law of the land”. Maybe….in his natal chart there’s a T-square aspect that involves his 9th house (philosophies, how we think on deep levels), his 12th house (end cycles) and his 3rd house (family, early life). This is a major life aspect for him, and an extremely difficult one given they form a T-square. What’s odd, to me at least , is that the T-square points to Neptune in Scorpio in his 12th house. Larry Sinclair results delayed until 1:00-1:30 EST so they can post second polygraph examiners analysis. However this saga turns out it has been a diversion to read about but depending on the results it could genuinely be a story.
This Democrat for a day thing is so irritating, on so many different levels. For one thing, the media plays up Obama’s crossover appeal to Republicans and Independents, when in reality, what if most of it, is anti-Hillary voting? It seems to be voter fraud, but I don’t think, there are any laws against it. How does one prove it? What % are actually voting anti-Hillary vs true voting for Obama? What I can’t understand, what appeal does a left-wing liberal have for a conservative Republican. It does not compute (at least for me).

WASHINGTON — Two prominent Democratic governors, both supporters of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential campaign, voiced doubts Saturday about her argument that her victories in Florida and Michigan should count toward her delegate total.
Pennsylvania’s Edward G. Rendell and New Jersey’s Jon Corzine suggested that it would be seen as unfair to award those delegates to Clinton, given the Democratic Party’s ruling that the vote in those two states would not count.
Trailing in delegates to Sen. Barack Obama, the Clinton campaign has said she would fight to seat Michigan’s and Florida’s delegates at the Democratic convention in August.
The Democratic National Committee stripped the two states of their delegates as a penalty for leapfrogging ahead of other states in the election calendar, a violation of party rules.
Obama and Clinton had agreed not to campaign in Florida and Michigan, partly so as not to offend states that traditionally hold early primaries and caucuses. In Michigan, Obama’s name was not on the ballot.
Clinton defeated Obama in Florida, 50% to 33%. In Michigan, Clinton won 55% of the vote, versus 40% for “uncommitted.”
Howard Wolfson, communications director for the New York senator’s campaign, said in an interview Saturday night: “We will be urging our delegates to vote to seat the delegations from Michigan and Florida. We believe that their votes should count.”
Several Democratic governors interviewed at the winter meeting of the National Governors Assn. here said that would be a mistake.
Rendell said the Clinton camp could not make a convincing case that Michigan delegates should be added to her column: “You can’t make any argument in Michigan, because Hillary was the only person who was on the ballot. I’m as avid a Hillary supporter as there is, but I don’t think we can make an argument in Michigan.”
In Florida, Rendell said, the Clinton campaign can mount a “tenable argument” that delegates should be awarded. Obama was on the ballot in Florida, for one thing. And Obama ran a television campaign ad there. It was part of a national cable ad buy. Rendell said it was likely an accident that it ran in Florida:”I believe he just didn’t think to redact Florida from the buy,” the Pennsylvania governor said.
The Clinton campaign has said that by airing the ad, the Illinois senator violated the pledge not to campaign in Florida.
And Clinton maintains that she did not campaign in the state, though she did appear there for several fundraising events before the vote. When it comes to Florida, Rendell said, “At least you can make a tenable argument . . . I’m not sure it’s a winning argument.”
Corzine said that a fair resolution would be for the two states to vote again. Because of their importance in presidential elections, neither state should be “disenfranchised,” said Corzine, who has endorsed Clinton.
In the face of the Democratic National Committee ruling that the votes in Michigan and Florida would not count, he said it would not be acceptable to change the rules.
“I think actually given how the votes came about, we probably need a revote,” Corzine said. “Some kind of new primary. I don’t really see how you can ignore Florida and Michigan.”
Other Democratic governors who have not endorsed a candidate took positions at odds with that of the Clinton campaign.
“I hate to see anyone disenfranchised, but my gut reaction to that
Michigan and Florida are large, important states that the party hopes to carry in the general election, and nullifying election results sends the wrong sort of message.
Asked how the party should resolve the impasse, Rendell said, jokingly:

My humble suggestions for Hillary to bring up (if the f*ckhead debate moderators won’t bring up the topic) regarding the Obama mailings (back in Nevada, and other states where crossover voting is allowed). She should address it head on, something to the effect:
I find that your mailings encouraging Republicans to vote Democratic for a day a perversion of the nomination process.
You encourage Republicans who will vote Republican in November to vote against me as a means of propping you up. The flyers say that a vote for a Dem in the primary doesn’t prohibit them from voting Rep in the general election. This is underhanded politics at its worst. We decried the Willie Horton ads and the Swfit Boaters, and this is much of the same.
The delegates and super delegates should be aware of how the potential nominees vie for the nomination. “Win at all costs” may benefit one candidate, yet cause our party to lose in November.
Do you consider this a fair strategy? Are you actually claiming to vie to reach across party lines? Or are you just exploiting loopholes in the Democratic rules on a state-by-state basis?
We want Democrats to pick the strongest Democrat. We don’t want outsiders to wreak havoc on our nomination process, to select who they’d want to run against.
The party heads should look at how each campaign has obtained its delegates, should there not be a clear winner by August.

Someone is posting on the YouTube site that Obama was absent from the Illinois state senate on Nov. 4, 1999, the day Sinclair says the incident took place. Evidently it’s in the Illinois state senate records–a link is given. This doesn’t mean anything by itself although if Sinclair is shown to have passed the polygraphs it might be supportive.
These results are either going to be a let down and we are back to other things or big, big news. I do think this will go mainstream if the tests show he passed (disagree with others on here saying they won’t).

Looks like Obama camp trying to overturn caucus results by overwhelming county and state conventions. It was my understanding that there were only 10,000 state delegates chosen to represent counties at the Nevada state convention. Yet over 10,000 showed up at one county convention alone. I think the moonies are trying to intimidate Hillary delegates to switch sides.

I just learned this today from a Yahoo group I belong to called Hillblazers08. Even though BO won the Virginia primary, Hillary won among white voters over the age of 60 by 2 to 1. Even more insightful, she won among all age groups of white voters over the age of 30! In my mind, the dividing line at 30 years old is pretty young.
I know some people here are still unsure that BO will lose the GE. I say the empty “hope and change” mantra is influencing your thinking. Never underestimate the seriousness of centrists–we want real solutions from proven leaders, not wishful thinking. Never overestimate the dislike conservatives have for McCain. Their dislike of him is nothing compared to their hatred of Democrats. When it comes to it, they will be out in force for him. Are any of you volunteers for either candidate I am when I called people in Wis most people were for Obama Now I’m calling Texas and Ohio and most people are siding with Hillary most calls go for her. Check Obama web site the blogs says the same thing they don’t think Obama can win either state. Hillary will take Texas and Ohio and she don’t have to win them by a landslide just win them. Obama’s website in there own words say they Mislead the People in Ohio. It seems that Michelle Obama is under fire yet again about her being patriotic. For Hillary she has done wrong too we all no what they are. But think are you electing a rock star (that is way over board) or electing a President. Who has the most experience? People from the Obama camp are crossing over to Hillary’s people isn’t agreeing with the Obama camp and his tactics and lack of experienced and for how he is playing the game. Some thought he actually stood for a change but are seeing he is no different he is saying what he can to elected (they all do). So I listened to Jamie Roberts who’s question of the day was how many think BO has been given a free pass by the media. Most of the callers agreed with that. She later cited a stat from some recent study (don’t remeber the name) that said BO’s media coverage so far had been 83% POSITIVE.

I had an email from the Republicans for Obama leadership team telling me that the email posted in the forum was posted by a one-time visitor and not by anyone from the organization.
I revised that section on Deck of Cards and added an explanation.

Even the house became a source of controversy when it emerged that the wife of a Chicago slum landlord, Tony Rezko, helped them buy land to enlarge its grounds.
Renowned for leaving tenants of one of his squalid buildings without heat in the city’s brutal winter, Rezko now is facing federal corruption charges.
More contentious still was Michelle’s appointment as the £150,000-a-year vice-president of external affairs at the University of Chicago hospital in 2005.
It came only two months after Barack was sworn in as a U.S. senator, and was attacked by critics as a blatant attempt, critics claim, by the hospital’s hierarchy to curry favour with her husband, in an era when some politicians want to rein in the vast profits of America’s medical system.
They questioned why the wife of a committed Democrat would work for a hospital that has been accused of ruthless greed.
Michelle’s image was further tarnished in May 2006, when it was revealed that the centre – despite earning some £50million a year – had refused to treat a man who could not afford to pay his bill. He died.

Despite two recent polls indicating Sen. Barack Obama is encroaching on Sen. Hillary Clinton’s lead in the March 4 Texas primary, senior aides to her presidential campaign expressed confidence today that she has the support and ground operations to pull out necessary victories in both Texas and Ohio.
Ace Smith, Clinton’s Texas state director, said the response the campaign is getting on the ground is “absolutely amazing” and recent stops have drawn thousands of supporters. “We’re comfortable we’re going to have a ground operation we haven’t seen in the state in a long time,” he said. “We’re going to have a campaign down here where we cede absolutely nothing.”
A CNN poll out Monday gave Clinton a narrow 50%-48% lead against Obama and a separate USASurvey poll gave Clinton a slighter larger 50%-45% lead. Smith played down the polls. “I don’t think there’s any big movement,” he said. “There’s so many polls showing so many different things.”
Smith said Clinton is running a coordinated campaign for early votes as early voting started today and will continue until Feb. 29.
While Texas has a quirky electoral system –- it has both a primary and a caucus system to select their delegates — Smith said Obama’s past edge in winning caucus contests won’t translate in the Lone Star State. “We’ll be absolutely dominant” in those efforts, he said.
Since Clinton announced earlier this month that she had made a $5 million loan to her campaign effort, the campaign said donations have been pouring in at a rate of about $1 million a day. “We have raised $15 million on line in the first 15 days of the month,” Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson said.

LJ, she has nothing to lose. If she is nice, she is criticized for not being tough enough. If she is tough, she is criticized for being negative. It is a lose-lose situation. Today, was not an angry speech, but a satire on Obama’s speeches. People laughed. It was mocking him, but I loved it. There has been a split in her campaign (according to some posters). Some want her to go negative, others want her to play nice. Well, she played nice Tuesday, became angry yesterday, and today it was satire. She has covered all bases. LOL!

I really really really like the Hillary we see in the Rhode Island video. Her range of emotion and material is terrific. Too many people (idiots in my opinion) are too caught up in their feelings to realize that what they need from our next president is a problemsolver. To mock him in this way calls attention to his little sky pilot con game thorugh the powerful vehicle of humor. If I am right then this will accelerate the vetting process that needs to occur.

For one thing, THEY are the ones trying to change the rules about the Superdelegates in the middle of the game; the Supers are SUPPOSED to break ties, and to balance the results of popular votes that might be skewed, and in general to put a human judgement on choosing the best candidate.
For another, it IS within the rules for the first delegates seated at the convention to allow in other disputed delegates if they choose, overriding Brazile’s unwise ‘punishment’ of FL and MI.
All this is the fault of Brazile and the DNC: the FL GOP legislature caused trouble by setting a date that conflicted with the DNC’s date, and Brazile and others fell for it. And instead of some enforceable ‘punishment’ (such as withholding funds from FL next year) they tried to strip the delegates, which they should know was likely to cause a fight.

Go back and review those polls and notice that he has not been able to go above 47% even with all of his mo, his endorsements, his free ride by the press etc. Hillary is still hanging tough with him and he hasn’t been able to shake pass the 47%. All this could change but go back and look at the listing above, you will see that he has been between 42 and 47% for the last 2 wks.

At that time every living president including Carter supported it, and it was the first major trade agreement. birdgal, that is true, but I think tiburbones makes an interesting point and it is something that Mark Penn actually pointed out a long time ago that no one noticed or gave him credit for at the time – Obama’s support has a ceiling. While I agree that what matters is states, I think the gallup daily poll is a good thing to look at becuase they have been doing it consistently and if there is a real bounce based on wins, it should be seen there. His support is also volatile, it shoots way up, and then it shoots down very quickly. He has had more favorable media coverage than any presidential candidate in history, he has more money than any other candidate, he has had only very soft attacks on him from Hillary and the republicans, and this is still the max support he can get. With all of the incredible advantages he has working in his favor, you would think he would be soaring way ahead. I think these numbers also make it clear why Hillary still has a solid place in this race and why she is still here, despite the media begging her to leave so they can fawn over Obama even more.
birdgal, he soared in states where the machine was on his side. TX and OH machine is on Hillary’s side and people working hard to get hillary win. we will see what happen on March 4.
I understand that they are nat’l figures. I noted that in my post. My point is that with all of the things that he has going for him, I would have expected him to be around55 or 57% of the electorate.
This week will be interesting to see where the state#s of OH, and TX are. We can throwaway VT but RI looks good. TX is a nailbiter and I feel confident about OH but we have to continue to call and she has to push back strongly on Nafta.

He has great ground support in Texas. His supporters were there at least one to 2 weeks ahead of her, at least from reports. He is running ads, non-stop. What is interesting in Texas, is that Hillary received the endorsement from a Texas university. Maybe, she has more of the young vote?

birdga, I am nervous too. I just have to believe that the world will start to wake up over the next two weeks. I think as long as there isn’t too much dirty voting and her caucus game is good, we will be okay. He had good ground game in California too, as I recall, and that went our way. I think Hispanic turnout is going to be critical and I have read comments over at Taylormarsh from one person who said they are starting to think it might be massive/unprecedented, in which case, she will be great. There was also a question of whether Sheila Jackson Lee will be able to help her get a bit more of the African American vote.
Also, I am guessing the clip of his supporter on Matthews not being able to name a single accomplishment got at least some play locally. Not sure, I am not from Texas, but it would seem to make sense, and that would probably hurt him…

I saw those VT numbers in the Burlington paper the other day. I thought new ARG polls with crazy and now I know. Having lived in VT there is no way I believe those numbers and would venture to say many of those polled just did not say what they really believe or ARG used a poor polling sample.
